The Blind Side Vs Night Analysis
One of they ways The Blind Side and Night are similar is that they share a common theme. The theme
is people make it threw obsetcles more easily when other people help them with it. One main
excample of this in both of the storys is that both of the characters face major obstcles throught the
story. An excample in The Blind Side, if that the main character Micheal Oher has to face a diffulect
situtation when he is a black kid and he has to go to a all white school.
Another excample from the book night is when Elie and all of the jews get everything taken away
from them when the holocaust starts. Some text evdience from the book is the same day, the hungarian
police burst into every Jewish home in the town. ( Wiesel 10 ). Elie and the ... Show more content on

In The Blind Side it takes place in Memphis and the 20th century. Some evdience is his wandering out
of black memphis into rich white memphis... ( lewis 334). It says he moved from poor to rich because
he got adopted by a rich white family and he wa poor before he got adopted by them. My excample
from the book Night is that it takes places in 1941 1945 in Germany and Translyvania, and in
concentration camps. Evdience to prve that this is true is, The jews of Sighet the little town in
Translyvana where i spent my childhood. (Wiesal 34). It says he grew up in Translyvania. Which he
still lived during the start of the holocaust. Another main point is that the characters are different in the
story. In The Blind Side it says Micheal Oher is a Black student that is big and he is older then Elie. To
support that, He s the biggest player anyone ever seen. (Lewis 131). When Micheal walked into the all
white school everyone looked at him differently even the teacher. The teacher described him as big
and black. In the book Night Elie is different from MIcheal. In the book Night it said that Elie was 15
years old which is younger then Micheal. I also came to a conclusion that Elie in not as big as Micheal
and that he is white. Evdience to support that is No your eighteen, but im not. Im fifteen. (Wiesal 30).
To help explain this evdience, Elie had to say he was eighteen to stay with his

Plato the Philosopher Essay
Plato was a philosopher who was born in Athens (470 390 BCE), and was also a student of Socrates.
He felt that intelligence and one s perception belonged to completely independent realms or realities.
He believed that general concepts of knowledge were predestined, or placed in the soul before birth
even occurred in living things. Plato believed that the cosmos was intelligible, and the the universe
was mathematically understandable. He believes that mathematical objects could be seen as perfect
forms. Forms, a doctoral of Plato, can be understood as an everyday object or idea, which does not,
exists in the everyday realm, but merely is existent in the hypothetical realm or reality.

Plato used the concept of the divided line to illustrate the relationship of knowledge to opinion.
Metaphysics is investigating principles or reality transcending those of any particular science.
Cosmology and Ontology were the traditional branches concerned with the explaining of the ultimate

The National Gallery of art in Washington D.C. is pleased to announce that they will be hosting a
restaging of pieces by Yves Klein along with a reenactment of Anthropometries, a performance piece
that debuted in the International Gallery of Contemporary Art in 1947. The gallery is set to feature a
wide range of Klein s pieces including Monochrome Blue, various performance pieces, and select
experimental pieces from the end of his career. The wide array of pieces showcased guarantees
enjoyment for enthusiasts of all kinds. The above is set to be unveiled on April 28th, 53 years to date

In typical fashion, some of Klein s newly gained notoriety went to his head and in turn, shined through
his works of art. For example, in his article True Blue featured in The New Yorker, Peter Schjeldahl
mentioned that Still, some quality of ego transcending devotion persists through all Klein s work.
Klein is very confident and fearless even when the work its not complex and leans toward minimalist.
After several months of exhibitions he makes a shift in his style of art that has become known as his
Blue Period (January 1957). Blue Monochrome was his first real success. It s notoriety came with a
show based around his new color in question, International Klein Blue . What makes his new color
interesting is that he actually created with the help of a chemist. Monochrome Blue has no trace of line
or imagery, it simply surrounds the viewer in color, provoking meditation and deep thought. This
notion of meditation and deep thought may be a reference to the sky, the Holy Ghost, or even Mary s
robe which was often depicted as vibrant blue in Renaissance paintings. The idea to reference art
history was a very contemporary and post modern idea showing him ahead of the times. Klein s blue
period was seen as a amazing success and to show gratitude in Paris they released 1,001

Teaching Students with Adhd
Teaching Students with ADHD J. Palmer Capella University Abstract In recent history, the number of
students diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder has grown tremendously; causing
teachers to face new challenges on how to instruct students with behavioral and learning difficulties.
Students with ADHD have not only the privilege, but also the right to learn according to the Public
Law 94 142 and the Americans with Disabilities Act. There is growing debate about methods that are
best for students with ADHD including reward systems for behavior, to medications administered to
the individual. In order for a student to learn with ADHD, teachers should integrate a variety of
techniques, a general knowledge of medications and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on the research of Bennett et al. (1996), Elliott (1988), Liu et al. (1991), and Power et al.
(1995), it was predicted that: 1. Teachers knowledge of ADHD, knowledge of treatments for ADHD,
and ratings of acceptability for two common treatments (medication and behavior management
strategies) would demonstrate moderate positive relationships with one another. 2. Teachers
experience and training in working with students with ADHD would exhibit moderate positive
relationships with their knowledge of ADHD, knowledge of treatments for ADHD, and ratings of
treatment acceptability. Unfortunately some general education teachers have little to no training in
teaching students with ADHD successfully. The teachers who had more information and training about
ADHD and teaching techniques were found to be more likely to use the strategies and meet the
academic needs of diagnosed students than teachers who had not received training (Glass, 2001).
Medication and ADHD Throughout most research, teachers are shown to have different views on
using medication for treatment of ADHD. Many believe that the popularity of ADHD is due to the
endorsement of the medical profession; the doctors influence decision making in the government
which then results in the popularization of the concept and the ever widening boundaries of its
definition (Timimi, 2005). But there are also studies that show that students who are treated with
medication are more likely to

Theories Of Albert Bandura
The Theories of Albert Bandura
I chose to research Albert Bandura. Albert is a contemporary psychologist specializing in development
and educational psychology. A lot of his work revolves around the social learning theory. He is one of
the most widely cited psychologists of all time. He was born in Alberta, Canada in a small town of
Mundare. He was the youngest of six children, two of his siblings died when they were young one
from a hunting accident and the other from the flu. (goodtherapy.org.llc)
Albert Bandura was influenced by behaviorism while at the University Of Iowa where he earned his
MA and his PhD. In the early 1950s, he developed his own Theories called reciprocal determinism, ...

The many different variations of the tests that Bandura carried out, showing the model rewarded for
their behavior, showing them punished for the same behavior, and with no consequences for their
behavior, allowed him to establish that there is certain steps involved in the modelling process.
1) Attention, the more attention people pay the more they learn, if a model is likable, attractive and
seems competent then you re more likely to pay attention.
2) Retention, you must be able to remember what you have seen, this is where imagery and language
are important, so that you can copy the behavior.
3) Reproduction, being able to reproduce the behavior, (it s one thing to watch someone doing
something, but another to actually have the ability to reproduce what you ve seen for yourself).
Social learning theory of Bandura stresses the importance of observing and modelling, behaviors,
attitudes, and emotional reactions of others. (Bandura 1977) states: Learning would be exceedingly
laborious, not to mention hazardous, if people had to rely solely on the effects of their own actions to
inform them what to do .
4) Motivation, you need to have some reason to want to do something. Bandura gives a number of
reasons for this, past reinforcement, (traditional behaviorism) promised reinforcements, (incentives)
vicarious reinforcement, recalling the model being reinforced, this is considered to be what causes us
to learn, although Bandura believes it s more a case of, causing

Comparing The Pursuit Of Happiness And Very Happy People
Throughout all of the differences in this world, one thing we have in common is the desire to obtain
happiness. Many articles have been written about the pursuit of happiness and how one can attain it.
With an assortment of articles over the topic, it is only natural for many different views and ideas to be
expressed by the numerous authors. Despite the many differences of opinions and beliefs of many
authors, they all agree that happiness comes from helping others, living to a person s own values, and
knowing what the true definition of happiness is. Carlin Flora s article The Pursuit of Happiness and
Ed Diener and Martin Seligman s Very Happy People agree that even the happiest people do not have
feelings of ecstasy or euphoric emotions. Flora, with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, some of those great emotions will fade away, and some will help happiness be consistent. In
The Pursuit of Happiness and Very Happy People, there are similar points supporting the theory that
happiness comes from helping others. Once again, there are reliable resources to back these claims,
including another article, Just For the Joy of it. This article was written by Vicki Zakrzewski to
address the topic of altruism. Altruism is a natural part of all of us, states Zakrzewski as she talks
about the practice of selfless concern for others (Zakrezewski 22). Flora shows her full support of
Zakrzewski s statement when she encourages the reader to perform acts of kindness for others on a
regular basis to lift your mood in the moment and over time (Flora 69). Diener and Seligman s results
showed that the very happy people had good social relationships. Good social relationships are formed
on selflessness and sacrifice, further proving that altruism is a large factor in happiness. While making
others feel good can increase happiness, it can also stem from making one s self feel good, both
physically and

Please excuse my late reply. I have been really busy with real life. I will give you the basics of what I
am looking for and we can go from there. Keep in mind that anything here is up for discussion, I want
the writer to have just as much input as me. If there is something you do not like or there is something
you wish to change, don t be afraid to adjust the storyline around. I ask that only serious writers take

she is of royal blood. Her father was the pack alpha and he raised her to one day take on the same

they align with a powerful coven that too wants the wolf pack out of Dallas. (The witches and
vampires want them gone because the pack runs the city; not much goes on without the wolves
knowing.) This coven cooks up a spell to banish any and all werewolf (triggered and untriggered)
from Dallas. Much like the spell in TVD, they can t cross the city line. When this happens they head
to New Orleans where their sister pack is; The Crescents. Hayley and the pack welcome them with
open arms and offer to help them find a way to return home. Carrie and Hayley become quick friends
and for now, they agree to merge the two packs into one. Both woman remain alphas and both are very

Discontentment In The Sun Also Rises
While Faulkner writes with complex, disorganized sentences, and Hemingway writes more simply,
both unique author s distinctive styles capture the feeling of discontentment in their fictional
characters, such as Jake, in The Sun Also Rises, and Darl in, As I Lay Dying, by supplying insight on
their daily life and the environment surrounding them. While Jake s discontentment is caused by a war
wound, and Darl s sadness is created by his mother s death, Jake tries to conceal his emotions while
Darl chooses to confront his issues directly. In, The Sun Also Rises, Jake Barnes is described as being
physically damaged because of a war wound that impaired him during WWI. This is the cause for Jake
s discontentment. After his injury, a colonel mentions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Darl addresses Dewey Dell about her mission to go to Jefferson, he says, You want her to die so
you can get to town: is that it? She wouldn t say what we both knew. The reason you will not say it is,
when you say it, even to yourself, you will know it is true: is that it? But you know it is true now. I can
almost tell you the day when you knew it is true. Why wont you say it, even to yourself? (25).
Faulkner applies many intricate sentences when showing Darl s feeling of discontentment. He uses
long, complicated statements to portray the complexity of Darl s thoughts, and to show exactly how
Darl is confronting his issues instead of simply concealing them. Later in the novel Darl burns down a
barn that his mother s coffin was lying in because he wanted to end the stressful torment that he had
endured on the long trip to Jefferson. He wanted Addie to finally rest in peace and he was also tired of
traveling with his selfish family members, like the father, Anse, whose main reason for the trip was
just to get new teeth. Although he tried his best to end his internal, emotional suffering by burning
down the barn, he failed because Jewel saved the coffin from the flames. After being arrested for the
act, he says, Darl has gone to Jackson. They put him on the train, laughing, down the long car

SGA, a hosiery company, is being aggressively courted by the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile
Workers Union (ACTWU). With the down turn of the hosiery industry, SGA has had to make changes
such as laying off people, reducing pay and benefits and other perks the employees were given over
the many years when their company was more profitable. Now the company is looking at the
possibility of a vote for unionizing. The union has been very aggressive in the workplace and the

If handled correctly a letter is a great way of handing out information. However, the letter that was

and says, Examples of employer conduct that violate the NLRA: Threatening to close the business or

careful. Also, another way to get the company s agenda out to everyone without any cost to the
company is the use of social media. Keep in mind though, the same rules apply and the company
needs to be respectful of the law. While some employees will never be happy, if enough employees
see that the company is working for them and trying to do right by them, the need for a union could be
eliminated in their minds. The union needs to be made to look as a useless entity and the company
needs to be looked as a family and be a cohesive group of members working together to get to the
same end goal. As Budd says his book, The use of outside union avoidance consultants and lawyers is
a prominent component of employers campaigns (Budd, 2013). SGA would be wise to also use these

March to the Sea [/keywords] [learning objectives] By the end of this section, you will be able to:
Describe the reasons why many Americans doubted that Abraham Lincoln would be reelected Explain
how the Union forces overpowered the Confederacy By the outset of 1864, after three years of war,
the Union had mobilized its resources for the ongoing struggle on a massive scale. The government
had overseen the construction of new railroad lines and for the first time used standardized rail tracks
that allowed the North to move men and materials with greater ease. The North s economy had shifted
to a wartime model. The Confederacy also mobilized, perhaps to a greater degree than the Union, its
efforts to secure independence and maintain slavery. Yet the Confederacy experienced ever greater
hardships after years of war. Without the population of the North, it faced a shortage of manpower.
The lack of industry, compared to the North, undercut the ability to sustain and wage war. Rampant
inflation as well as food shortages in the South lowered morale. [H2]THE RELATIONSHIP WITH
EUROPE From the beginning of the war, the Confederacy placed great hope in being recognized and
supported by Great Britain and France. European intervention in the conflict remained a strong
possibility, but when it did occur, it was not in a way anticipated by either the Confederacy or the
Union. Napoleon III of

Inflatable Hot Tub
Why Portable Hot Tubs Are So Beneficial The people who purchase portable hot tubs usually fall into
the following categories: need a more affordable option, don t have too much space in their homes or
backyards, and don t want to permanently install a space in their yards for the hot tubs. Though others
will frown and say that inflatable tubs are subpar when compared to permanent ones, we believe that
inflatable tubs offer many benefits that permanently installed ones certainly cannot offer. Move the

Millet s Impact On The Ancient World
Millet is a crop that has a lot of health benefits, has protein, lasts a long time, matures quickly, and can
grow in dry environments with poor soil. For some civilizations in Africa, East Asia, India, and
Europe, this was a perfect crop. Starting in 8,000 BCE, millet quickly spread around Africa and the
Eurasian supercontinent, becoming one of the most commonly eaten grains in the world. India alone
produces over 8 million tons of millet yearly. There is no denying that millet had a huge impact on
civilizations of the ancient world that still affects us to this day. Millet is a grain that has many
variations, but all of them have many of the same characteristics. Millet is high in protein, fiber, and B
vitamins. It was very filling, and needs very little water and fertile soil to grow. It is also gluten free,
which has increased its popularity recently. Protein made it filling, so you didn t need a lot of it per
meal, which also increased the abundance. 10,000 years ago, broomtail millet (Panicum miliaceum)
became domesticated in North China. This area was cold and dry, so it was perfect for millet, which

Stargazing 101 Aries The Ram Analysis
Stargazing 101: Aries the Ram I really hope you have all enjoyed my Stargazing series! These stories
about the constellations and the facts behind them are so incredibly interesting and I ve had such a

with the story of the Golden Fleece (which you might remember from the story of Carina, the ship.

his extra marital affairs, but very rare that we hear of Hera having any. In the story of Aries, Ixion,

children killed. She came to Hera for help in saving them, so Hera sent a golden ram to aid the
children in their escape. Unfortunately, one of the children fell off the ram s back and died, however,
the other survived and made it to safety. Once on the banks of Colchis, the surviving child sacrificed
the ram to Poseidon. Poseidon them instructed him to present the ram s golden fleece to the king of
Aeete, who hung up the fleece in a secret garden where it was protected by a dragon. It was at this
same time, you might recall from Carina the Ship, that Diomedes s land had overthrown him as heir to
his father s throne. Pelias, the man who took Diomede s throne in his absence, is the cousin of the boy
who sacrificed the ram that saved him to the god of the sea. Hera

or outside of Cuba. During the battle, Castro fought directly alongside his people, proving his loyalty
to them and demonstrating the effectiveness of his personality by rallying his people behind him. He
personally took charge of the defense, commanding troops, and air forces. Steadily the invaders were
pushed back and inevitably surrendered. This battle was a substantial win for Castro, his revolution,
and his people. With the loss of the invasion for America, came the solidification of power for Castro.
Castro became a hero to his people, as the emergence of America as a foreign threat rallied the Cuban
people behind Castro.
After the invasion Castro and his army captured roughly 1100 men of the American protected Brigade
2506. In the late spring of 1961 Castro wanted to make a deal with the US, exchanging the prisoners
for a ransom. Initially Castro requested agricultural equipment and 500 caterpillar type tractors , that
were essentially bulldozers at a value of $28 million. The American government offered Castro much
cheaper tractors valued at $17 million, which Castro found insulting. He told the Americans there
would be no deal. Nearly a year later at the end of March, 1962 Castro put the men of Brigade 2506

Factors That Newly Relegated Burnley Football Club Faces...
Abstract
In this report I will discuss the difficulties that newly relegated Burnley football club faces when
implementing budgetary strategies. I aim to illustrate how financial planning and more specifically
Zero Based budgeting can enhance a clubs management of finances and create financial stability.
Equally, I will try and present how variance analysis can be used to measure the success of budgetary
projections within organisations and more specifically within the sports industry.
2. Introduction
The relegation of a football club has the potential to cause financial instability. Clubs such as Leeds
United and Portsmouth, due to inadequate budgeting have found themselves languishing as low as
league 2 having found it difficult to budget effectively and then push for promotion. However, through
sustainable and appropriate budgeting clubs can gain a more accurate picture of their financial health
and bridge what in (Emery and Weed s 2006) opinion is a growing divide in the way football is
financed . Budgeting itself does not only encourage a more safe and responsible way of spending
money, it also can encourage more cohesive and productive relationships between the many different
facets which make up an organisation. However one may argue that a newly relegated football club
would be best served with a zero based budget as it enables a high level of critique when dealing with
budgetary requests from managers.
3. What is a budget?

Phi Theta Kappa
In 1921, Mr. J.C Harmon became the President of Cottey College. Virginia Alice Cottey Stockard, the
founder and previous president of the college, was thrilled and believed she and the Board of Trustees
had made an excellent decision, considering they had trained him to know the inner workings of the
college for a year. He seemed to be a promising president of Cottey College. Unfortunately, at the
beginning of the new school year in 1922, Harmon resigned from his position as president due to the
financial difficulties the college was going to face. Stockard, at the age of 74 years old, stepped up as

followed up this interest by writing a letter to the President of the Supreme chapter of the PEO, Alice

Mygraphy Of A Teacher Autobiography
My Teacher Autobiography
Since I can remember I have always wanted to be a teacher. You can say I come from a family of
teachers because several of my family members are teachers. I enjoy helping others and I love
working with children. I dream of becoming a middle school English teacher in spite of people telling
me I will have a difficult time with the children from that age group. I have had many role models
throughout my life and they have all impacted my life in their own way. My biggest role models have
been my 8th grade math teacher Ms. Gurrola, my maternal grandfather, Higinio, and my 8th grade
Language Arts teacher, Ms. Cordova. All of these individuals in their own way have had a significant
impact on my life and are part of the reason why I choose to become a teacher. By learning about
these people that have meant so much to me you can learn a lot me as a person and how I will be as
teacher.
One of the most memorable and favorite teachers I have had is my eighth grade math teacher Ms.
Gurrola. Although she wasn t my favorite teacher at the time, today is she is one of my most
significant roles models and inspirations for becoming a teacher. Being a new member of the bilingual
program at my school, Ms. Gurrola s math class was one of the most challenging because I had never
taken a math class in Spanish before and although Spanish is my first language the terminology was
new to me. To me, Ms. Gurrola was a great teacher in spite of her strict rules and at times unpleasant
attitude. She knew her subject matter very well and was always open to helping her students whenever
possible. She had a strong accent that made it evident that she was bilingual and that English was not
her first language. It was rumored that she had come to the United States from Mexico with a convent
of nuns but left and became a teacher. I did not realize her value as a teacher until one day that I stayed
after school with her to finish an exam for her class. I was upset with her over something that
happened the previous day in class and I gave her a little bit of attitude that day yet when I went to her
class after school it seemed as if nothing had ever happened. She was helpful and very nice to me.
After I finished the exam

The Legend Of Hades Research Paper
Long ago before humans and animals existed, there were three brothers who defeated their father. The
youngest of the three became king of gods because he was the one who defeated their father Kronos.
They sent the oldest brother to be king and god of the Underworld because of his dark passion to be
king of gods. This brother s name was Hades, who was very unlike his obedient brother Poseidon,
king and god of the sea and all waters. Hades always stares through a small hole in the underworld.
The ones he despises the most after his brothers are Gaia and Hephaestus, they helped the two elder
gods seal Hades into the Underworld.
Of course Hades was not happy at all. He was thrown into the Underworld and did not have

Essay on Advertising Fast Food to Children Under The Age...
How much do the fast food companies spend for advertising to children in the United States? In 2009,
The Fast food companies spent over $ 4.2 billion in the fast food industry alone to market on
television, the internet, social media sites, etc (Brownell, 2009). This amount of money demonstrated
that advertising to children is big business for companies, but it affects children directly, who are
innocent of future generations. The purpose of this essay is to convince legislators to consider banning
the advertising of fast food to children under the age of 12 in children s programming. First, I will
briefly describe the definition of fast food and the negative effects of advertising fast food to children
under the age of 12. They are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The television advertising targeted at children is harmful. The Journal of the American Medical
Association has said children between ages of two and seventeen watch an annual average of 15,000
to 18,000 hours of television, compared with 12,000 hours spent per year in school (Beacon Press,
2000). This indicates that children watch television for too many hours, so the advertising companies
target children to increase the number of people, watching their programs. We can see from the above
that the fast food industry spends a lot of money to just advertise to children increase their profit. Also,
based on the research of the Food Advertising to Children and Teen Scores, show that the average
preschooler between the ages 2 to 5 see almost three fast food advertisements every day. The children
between the ages 6 to 11 see three and a half advertisements for each day, and teenagers see almost
five advertisements for every day (Yale University s Rudd Center, 2009). In other words, average
children ages 2 to 11 see fast food advertisements approximately 3 times for each day. If children
watch advertisements from television every day, within one year children will have watched fast food
advertisements approximately 2,000 times a year. This is a very serious amount that should cause
concern with our young children.

Negative Discrimination Of Tattoos
45 million American have at least one tattoo, says a survey conducted in 2016 by Statistic Brain (
Tattoo Statistics ). That s 45 million people who face discrimination every day because they made a
choice about what they wanted to do to their own body. There are many negative connotations
affiliated with tattoos. Some people associate tattoos with gangs or other violent organizations, while
others believe that having a tattoo makes you uneducated and a delinquent. Whatever the case is
tattoos have a bad reputation in America. However people with tattoos should be treated with the same
respect and should be able to have the same opportunities as their peers. Having tattoos gives you less
options for work and other career aspirations. Many employers will not hire people with body art, in
fact a study showed that 58 percent of employers said that they would be less likely to hire an
employee with with a body modification (Sawyer [page 62]). An individual with tattoos can have the
same qualifications as someone without however when given a picture of a potential employee with
and without tattoos, the person with tattoos was constantly ranked lower ( Ink blots ). Even if someone
with tattoos does get hired they may be asked to cover them up by wearing long sleeves and/or pants.
This happened to policeman Michael Riggs, who had tattoos from his time serving in the US army. He
was required to wear a long sleeves shirt and long pants to cover up his tattoos in the heat

Obama Vs. Clinton And Burr Vs Ross Essay
In early September, Burr was leading Ross with 46.7% to 43% according to Real Clear Politics. By
early November, he was only ahead by an average of 1.5%. While North Carolina is widely
considered a battleground state, Five Thirty Eight gave Burr a 73.4% chance of winning reelection.
With the exception of a drop in the middle of October, Burrs chances of winning were consistent
throughout the Senate race as shown below in figure 2.
Although Burr was never able to reach 50% in the polls, he exceeded that threshold on Election Day
and defeated Ross by almost 6%. In order to analyze the political climate further, I will be comparing
the exit polls for both Trump vs. Clinton and Burr vs Ross. This will help explain why Ross was
entering the Senate race with a disadvantage despite media pundits arguing that higher turnout in
presidential election years should benefit Ross. Although Five Thirty Eight gave Clinton the slight
edge to defeat Trump in North Carolina, Trump s was able to carry the state with a modest
performance. Although Real Clear Politics had Burr winning by an average of 2%, that was certainly
below the 5.7% final result. In a three way race between Trump, Clinton, and Johnson, Trump was
predicted to win North Carolina by about 1%. The actual results, however, showed Trump winning by
about 4%. Although this paper is focusing on the Senate race, it s certainly important to note the
impact that a presidential candidate can have on the electoral map, particularly

The Effects Of Environmental Stress On Cell Membranes
Introduction:
The purpose of this experiment was to indirectly study the effects of environmental stress on cell
membranes. Watercourses have been with discarding of domestic and manufacturing, for centuries.
Alarms have only escalated about the ecological alterations in the recent years of what would be the
consequences. Scientists have developed a thorough investigation in search of various man harmful
waste that is damaging the environment of watercourses.
The cell membranes are the utmost essential organelle that surrounds all living cells. Its purpose is to
control what goes in and out of the cells and is accountable for the various other properties of the cells
as well. The nucleus and other organelles also have membranes that are practically indistinguishable.
Membranes are organised in a mosaic arrangement, comprised of carbohydrates, proteins and
phospholipids. This can be seen in Figure 1. The objective of this indirect examination is to study the
causes of various solvents and conducts on live beetroot cells. The reason why beetroot cells have
been selected for this experiment is because they have a big membrane bound central vacuole, as seen
in Figure 2. The red colour anthocyanin, which provides the beetroot its bright colour is located in the
vacuole. The cell membrane encloses the whole beetroot cell. The anthocyanin cannot leak out if the
membranes stay unharmed. The red colour can escape if the membranes are hassled or broken.

Global Climate Change Triggered By Global Warming
The article, Global Climate Change Triggered by Global Warming by Stuart D. Jordan, seeks to
provide evidence that global climate change caused by global warming is currently in affect and
requires immediate attention and action. Jordan claims that the Earth s climate has been undergoing
significant and alarming changes for the past thirty years. He provided evidence based on
observations, theoretical models, and calculations made by other researchers.
The article addressed the increase in temperature over the years and claimed 2005 to be the warmest
year in the last century. There is much fear, as temperature continues to increase, that possible ice
reduction and melted ice sheets and glaciers in the Artic, Antarctica, and Greenland may occur and
cause a rise in sea levels. If the Antarctic ice sheet melts, the sea level is calculated to rise two hundred
feet, while if the ice sheet in Greenland melts, the sea level is calculated to rise seven meters,
approximately twenty feet. The rise in sea level is affecting coastal areas. Many coastal areas are
expected to sooner or later be flooded or below sea level. This can have terrible consequences for high
populated coastal areas. Another problem that global warming may have on the world s oceans is the
possible change in the global oceanic conveyor belt . The conveyor belt controls the ocean s currents
which has impact on regional climate change. However, scientists have yet to agree on whether or not
reduction of flow has

Robert Frost Explication Analysis
Poetry Explication Essay The poem Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening was published in Robert
Frost s New Hampshire in 1924 (Pritchard). The poem is among the most easily recognizable and
familiar works written by Frost. On the surface, this poem is a short encounter at the edge of a snowy
forest. Perhaps its outer simplicity is what makes the poem stand out in the minds of readers. The
straightforward structure and balanced rhyme pattern make it easy to recite and the imagery Frost
evokes is both beautiful and engaging. However, this surface level is only a façade to the underlying
subject matter. As Ciardi puts it, the surface level events display ... the pretended simplicity of the

He also doesn t describe the physical traits or gender of the narrator (hereinafter referred to as male).
This is an attempt to make the situation more easily relatable to a large pool of readers representing
any errand as well as any person. As Ciardi puts it, The errand ... is left generalized in order the more
aptly to suggest any errand in life and, therefore, life itself (Ciardi 14). Ciardi goes on to examine the
man talked about in the poem. This man represents the village of mankind and thus tells us that the
narrator is divided or has chosen to divide himself from society at least for a short horse ride (Ciardi
14). This division is an important theme in the poem, instantly showing us that the reflection is a
highly personal experience for the narrator. The horse in the poem, on the other hand, is the narrator s
connection to reality. Ciardi goes so far as to call the horse the foil of the protagonist for disagreeing
with his actions demonstrated in the line My little horse must think it queer / To stop without a
farmhouse near (CITE). This horse has been subject to analysis by other critics as well, Virginia
Faulkner explains that the horse represents male sexual potency (Faulkner 560). Though not many
critics agree with Faulkner in the respect that the poem is dealing with an amatory adventure, the
sexual connotations of the horse still adhere to its connection with the narrator through the symbolism

Theories Of Finding Nemo
Personality Theories Essay over the movie Finding Nemo
The purpose of this essay is to watch the movie and try to view the main character from three
personality theorists perspectives. In the movie Finding Nemo, Marlin was a clown fish who lost his
son, Nemo, in the vast ocean. Along his journey to find his son, he ran into Dory, a blue tang fish who
suffered from short term memory loss. Dory provided moral support and comfort in this search that
Marlin has been missing for years. This essay will analyze Dory in the movie Finding Nemo through
Carl Rogers self actualization theory, Maslow s Hierarchy of needs, and Friedman and Rosenman s
personality behavior type.

Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs
Maslow s hierarchy of needs is a systematic arrangement of needs according to priority in which basic
needs must be met before less basic needs are aroused. At the point in the movie where Dory meets
Marlin, Dory was stuck on the second level of Maslow s pyramid because she lacked in needs of love
and belongingness that is necessary to climb up higher on the hierarchy of needs.
When she is introduced in the movie, she had no love, no family, no self esteem, and was only
concerned about the basic needs in life like safety and security. At the point in the movie where Marin
pulls her out of the jellyfish, Dory progressed to the third level of the pyramid because in her
dedicated pursue to aid and assist Marlin, they had developed a relationship. Marlin then accepted
Dory and she felt a sense of affiliation and acceptance. Dory was then able to progress through the rest
of Maslow s hierarchy of needs.
Friedman and Rosenman Behavior Type pattern
In Finding Nemo, Dory had a type B personality because she was normally very easy going and
relaxed. A type B personality is defined as a child ego state characterized by a form of behavior
associated by Friedman and Rosenman with people who appear free of hostility and aggression and
who lack a compulsion to meet deadlines, are not highly competitive at work and play, and have a
lower risk of heart attack (Farlex, 2012). In many parts of the movie, you could see

In many Loos s buildings, the exterior was lack of ornament, but the interior was very designed. He

Loos didn t mean to say that all ornament was unnecessary, he was mean to say that we should give up
the superfluous ornament. The ornaments that will be conserve should have some sort of functions or
meanings.
Overall, I believed Loos s was trying to transfer people s attention from the ornament of building to
the function of the building. He wanted to show that ornament is not as important as the function of
building itself. I totally agree with his point, but there is always the problem of losing something when
people try to change something. At this sense, yes the extra ornaments are a waste, but not all

The Effects Of Dyslexia On Children With Dyslexia Essay
Many learning disabilities world wide are over looked if a child doesn t learn at the rate of the other
children, but a teacher might assume that the student is mentally challenged. That might not be the
case. Students world wide struggle with the learning disability known as dyslexia. Dyslexia is known
for the way it twists words and numbers in ones head. It s almost as if the persons mind is playing a
trick on itself. The person might read the text backward or even say his or her thoughts backwards.
Just because one has dyslexia does not mean that he or she cannot major in any specific major.
Someone with dyslexia may choose which ever major he or she may like, although it will be harder
for the person and so they will have to put more time in and work harder than everyone else. This is
true in nursing students with dyslexia; they have to put more hard work in than anyone else and yet
they still might not be where they want to be.
In the article Experience of Nursing Students with Dyslexia on Clinical Placement by Christopher
McPheat, the author informs people that students with dyslexia need more help in the clinical setting.
He writes with a serious tone to let the audience know that this is not a light situation and to take it
very seriously. Although there is no greater risk of harm with nurses in dyslexia, they still need more
help. McPheat gives suggestions of how they could get help. The author who is a staff nurse has

The Third Bank Of The River By Roger Rosenblatt
Journey means to travel, to start at one point and move on to another. It was clearly demonstrated in
The Children of Cambodia, an essay by Roger Rosenblatt. It takes place in 1983 where he interviewed
Cambodia children after the reign of Pol Pot. Pol Pot was the leader of Cambodia during the 1970s
and he led 1.5 million Cambodians into death of starvation, execution, or being overworked. In
another topic of journey, The Third Bank of the River, written by J.G. Rosa, is about a father who
abandons his family by traveling away on a canoe for years without reason. Finally, Cathedral is a
story written by Ray Carver in which a judgmental man lets his wife s blind friend spend the night at
their house and things turn out unexpectedly. The main resolution these three pieces of writing have in
common is that at least one character undergoes a journey. In deeper detail, journey can be from
realizing things about life or oneself, aging from adolescence into adulthood, or moving on. These
three stories portray journey in different ways.
In The Third Bank of the River, journey is shown by the family. The importance of the father going
into complete isolation represents the effects he has on his peers. There is an opposite effect from this
story because the father s abandonment left a prominent mark on the family and their future. From an
outside perspective, some may assume that the father would be the one who s miserable and empty,
yet this story carries out the reverse

theme of Good triumphs over evil. Rikki, the protagonist, is good. He is loyal, courageous, and
protective. Nagaina, the antagonist, however, is evil. She is selfish, threatening, determined to get
what she wants, and is as dishonorable as a fox. The theme Hard work can bring a great reward could
be thought of as the theme by some, but that will be disproved within this essay. In the exposition,
Rikki, a young mongoose in India, is saved by a family, who has a boy named Teddy, after he is
washed away in a flood. The family begins to take care of Rikki since mongooses are instinctively
inclined to kill snakes and there are many of them in India that pose a threat to children and even
adults. He becomes very attached to this family and guards them with his life. He ... Show more

Rikki worked extremely hard to slay all the snakes, and in the end, he was rewarded. He was rewarded
by the family he lived with in material ways, such as receiving food and affection, but he also received
moral support which helped him gain confidence and reassure himself that he was able to keep his
family safe. The cobras also worked hard, but in contrast, they were not rewarded. In fact, the cobras
were punished. Nagaina made sure her eggs were laid in a protected place, and since she wanted them
to hatch, she tried to eliminate the threats to them. Those threats were the family in the bungalow and
Rikki. Nag and Nagaina worked hard to survive and protect their family, but rather than being
rewarded, they were killed. This obviously displays that Hard work can bring a great reward is not the
theme of this

Western Operas Depict Inaccurate Facts about the Orients
In this essay, I am going to discuss and make a stand that western operas depict inaccurate facts about
the orients. In order to substantiate my stand, I will also look into some of the western operas that are
based on the orient. There are many definitions of Orientalism. Some examples are as followed.
According to the oxforddictionaries.com, Orientalism is Style, artifacts, or traits considered
characteristic of the peoples and cultures of Asia. (Oxford University Press 2014) Edwards Said,
author of the book Orientalism defines Orientalism as a corporate institution for dealing with the
Orient , dealing with it by making statements about it, authorizing views of it, describing it, by
teaching it, settling it, ruling over it: in short, Orientalism as a Western style for dominating,
restructuring, and having authority over the Orient. (Locke 1993, under Reflections on Orientalism in
Opera ) From the definitions available, it can concluded that the word orient in the term of Orientalism
is referring to either the Islamic Middle East (e.g. North Africa, Turkey, Arabia, Persia), or East and
South Asia (the Far East , e.g. India, Indochina, China, Japan).
Orientalism has been part of western arts for a long time. Orientalism in Music occurred since the late
Renaissance. This can be seen by a widely performed dance during that period, called the Moresca,
which was associated with the Moors of North Africa and was often performed with dark skin makeup

Managing The Working Environment And Supports The Overall...
As a business leader, when I review a situation or event, especially with regards to financials, by
means of complex mathematical and statistical modeling I am using quantitative analysis. The Human
resources department is a critical component to managing the working environment and supports the
overall business strategy. Through a quantitative understanding of company problems, I and my fellow
Human Resource associates can identify, analyze and solve problems. Quantitative analysis offers a
systematic methodology for utilizing raw data and information. I know that quantitative methods
allow my department to produce accurate none biased reports that help shape our company. The
derived facts and information can therefore be considered to better position the department in
maintaining and growing our success within retention, hiring and job satisfaction. While Human
resources is greatly focused in recruiting and hiring the right people, many HR professionals work in
many facets beyond hiring. As a human resource professional, I work within an array of company
segments, which are not entirely based in hiring or recruiting. My duties are inclusive of
unemployment reporting, hiring, workers compensation, tax payments, reconciliations, healthcare
audits, 401K payments etc. Among those responsibilities, I also serve as the company s chief payroll
officer. Thus, I work hand in hand with our finance and accounting departments to ensure that our
payroll expenditures are

Talking About Home
If someone were to talk about a home , there could be many different things that would come to mind.
Home is defined as a house, apartment, or other shelter that is the usual residence of a person, family,
or household ( Home ). Depending on the person and the type of environment they grew up in, you
would most certainly get many different answers. In my opinion, home isn t just a place that you live
in, but a place of peace and acceptance, and a place that you share with your family. A good, simple
quote that represents this is home is where the heart is Pliny the Elder ( Home Quotes ). There are
many aspects of a home that can all play a role on your very own personal identity, like concrete
things such as the building itself and the geographical location, to even the more mental things such as
the social environment in your household. Everything that makes up the environment of your home,
plays a very big role in the way it shapes your life and personal identity. I currently reside in my mom
s house in Prescott, Wisconsin. She is the only parent in my household because my parents divorced
four years ago. When I was born, I lived in Apple Valley, Minnesota. When I went into kindergarten,
my family moved to Farmington, Minnesota, and by the time I was in fourth grade, I made my way to
Prescott. All of this moving around was due to my dad and his job. Sometimes, I wonder how all this
moving has impacted my life, all the friends I could of made, all the opportunities in

Gay Conversion Therapy Case Study
The Supreme Court rejected a request by a Christian minister and therapist to consider a case against a
ban on the so called gay conversion therapy in the state of California.
The dismissal that came on Monday is the second one that the high court has given in three years.
California adopted a law in 2012 prohibiting licensed therapists from offering sessions that are
intended to change the sexual orientation of clients under the age of 18. The law was challenged
initially on the basis that it violated rights to free speech, but that argument was rejected by a federal
appeals court.
When the law was reviewed by the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the judges ruled 3 0 that it
was constitutional. The court said that minors are free to

Synopsis Of The Film Rosebud
Summary of the Film 1. The contributors to the film are Orson Welles and Herman J. Mankiewicz.
Welles is the director and writer, and Mankiewicz is also one of the writers. 2. The main characters are
Orson Welles (Charles Kane), Joseph Cotten (Jedediah Leland), and Dorothy Comingore (Susan
Alexander Kane). 3. The main source of conflict is Kane trying to hide his affair with Susan from the
print media. He does not want the scandal to ruin his chances of becoming governor of New York.
Another conflict is a reporter trying to discover what the meaning of Kane s last word, Rosebud, is. 4.
A reporter has been assigned to discover the significance of Charles Kane s last word, Rosebud. The
reporter takes a look back at Kane s life to dissect his political career and love affair to find the
answer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main symbol that reoccurs in the film is a sled. The first sled is shown at the beginning of the film
when Kane, as a child, is playing on it in the snow. This sled is a major part of Kane s childhood
because this specific sled made him feel joyous and lighthearted. The fuss about his last murmured
word, Rosebud, is the name of Kane s sled; it was meaningful to his life and is an important aspect of
the film. The sled was later shown when Kane s belongings were burned soon after he died. The sled
represented Kane s happiness and innocence. The film s sound effects and instrumental music range
from soft to loud, depending on the scenario. The music used is consistent with the situations that
occur. For example, the music playing while young Charles Kane is being told that he has to go away
with his mother s banker is smooth and then becomes intense. During this scene, the viewer can hear a
combination of instruments such as flutes, violins, and tubas. The powerful instrumental music lasts
for a couple of minutes to emphasize how upsetting the news is for Kane. In general, the sound effects
and music accentuate the emotions the characters are expressing or trying to

The Role Of Masochism In Fifty Shades Grey
Sex is for pleasure and for fun. We all have our kinky fantasies that we may or may not seek out.
Sadism and masochism can arguably be considered something that is just for fun and a way of
pleasing themselves but it is not what normally pleases the majority of people. It is a form of sexual
arousal by being punished or punishing another person in ways that cause pain, suffering, and
humiliation. Sadomasochism is on the list of paraphilia s in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders. I agree that Sadomasochism is pathological even if the sexual partner is willing. A
persons cause for this disorder could be caused by something deeper or another mental disorder that
might make someone more hypersexual and be willing to take ... Show more content on

Auschwitz Concentration Camp Research Paper
Jazmin Miller
World Lit 2A
Auschwitz Concentration Camp The Auschwitz Birkneau concentration camp was established I 1940
by the Germans. It s located just outside Oswiecim, Poland. The original reason of establishment was
that the mass arrests of Poles were too much for the capacity of local prisons. Eventually, it became
the largest death camp of the Holocaust. Auschwitz covered about 40 square miles and had more than
40 sub camps within a several hundreds kilometer radius. The camp consisted of 22 prewar brick
barracks buildings. The first prisoners at the camp were mostly Poles. In 1940, there were about 8,000
people registered. In 1942, Jews were being sent to Auschwitz by the hundreds of thousands. About
197,000 Jews were deported there in 1942, in the following year about 270,000, and in 1944 over
600,000. All together that s about 1.1 million. Of those people, only about 200,000 were selected as
labor workers and were actually registered in the camp. Jews made up the majority of the ethnic
groups. However, there were also 140 150 thousand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dr. Clauberg developed a method of mass sterilization. It used a chemical irritant that produced severe
inflammation. This caused the fallopian tubes to shut and close. Some of his experiments killed his
subjects. Others were put to death so an autopsy could be performed. Dr. Mengele would pick a pair of
twins or someone with a physical handicap and conduct painful and exhausting examinations. They
could last for hours and were terrifying for children. Photographs, casts of teeth and jaws, and
fingerprints and toe prints were taken from the subjects. Once the examinations were over, Dr.
Mengele ordered the twins to death by lethal injection. He would then move on to the next phase,
analysis of internal organs at autopsy. Interesting specimen were preserved and shipped to the Institute

Speech On Mimicry In Speech
Mimicry the highest form of respect. Mimicry is the act of imitating one s behaviors or voice in an
effort to replicate another human or animal. Animals may use mimicry as camouflage so they can
easily catch prey or escape their predator. For humans, mimicry is more than just flattering, it s a style
choice. When you imitate someone it s because they ve affected you personally and forced you into an
unknown body; a substitute for the real you. Would you expect a newborn baby to understand the
inner workings of a language? Of course not! Newborn s minds are not developed enough to
understand language or anything, besides how to eat. However, over time the baby s brain will
develop and more information could be stored in knowledge. We teach our children a method of
mimicry called repetition and is the basis for all learning under the age of nine years old. As children
fall into this mushy cycle of repeating everything they see, they often look to their role models and
providers: their parents. Parents provide the basis for children s accent, speech pattern, body language,
and reactions. Parents are the child s teacher in every way, shape, and form possible. What would you
do if you lost that parent? As a young child, I experienced an abundance of death amongst my family
members. Young, old, they would all fall a great fate sooner than expected. Worst of them all was the
woman I clung to since I was born. One day I returned from school to see my mother in rusty
wheelchair with purple bruises covering her skin. Being rushed to an ambulance, I couldn t speak to
her, I couldn t speak to anyone, I was alone with my thoughts. At six years old, I was unaware of any
illnesses or any injury, I had never been taught. I sat there in my 12x4 room and wondered for days.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. In and out of the hospital, but unaware of what
was actually happening. Finally after enough slow teaching, I understood that my mother had
leukemia; a skin cancer. It really seemed like a dream to me, because one minute she was there and
then poof she was gone. Grieving can bring groups of individuals together and heal the deepest
wound. I wish that was the case with my family, but instead it tore

It is at first hand not understandable why many companies proceed in such an irrational way although
their goal should be profit maximization especially today where most markets are commodity markets
and cost advantages are low (Christopher, Ch.1). Companies in the pre outsourcing time used to be
very successful in profit terms and the change in strategic policy must have more reasons than just an
increased flexibility to compensate the abdicated advantages.
(1.3) Introduction into the Topic
At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century almost every market in the world
was a seller s market providing the companies with an extensive power since the customers demand
for goods was almost always higher than the manufacturers could supply (M. Christopher, Logistics
and SCM, Ch. 10, p. 287). This fruitful condition helped several companies that possessed a small
know how advantage to grow at unbelievable growth rates compared to today. Responsible to a small
extent is the fact that there was no need for big advertisement campaigns entailing high advertising
costs, but especially the fact that those companies had an immense competitive advantage compared to
smaller rivals. They possessed an advantage on economies

The World Health Organization Response
I. Attention Getter: Have you ever wondered what would life be like if there were no responses to
disease outbreaks? Every day we are exposed to microorganisms that may or may not be fatal to our
health. Imagine getting an Eagle Alert saying that there has been a recent outbreak of Ebola in the
Hattiesburg area. What would you do? It is not up to use to handle the situation but it is up to the
World Health Organization (WHO) to respond to a terrifying event such as that.
II. Significance: WHO s are the people that we count on to keep the world a safer place from
dangerous diseases. It shines a light on how effective the World Health Organization response is
towards the outbreak of Ebola.
III. Credibility: WHO.int gives credits to what their responses are and why it is important to the world.
IV. Specific Purpose Statement and Central Idea: Although WHO s is an organization for controlling
the outbreaks of virtuous diseases, many people may want to know what is going on within the worlds
health organization. There are some agreements and disagreements to WHO s continuation of
handling the situation. Today, I will inform my audience about why WHO s should or should not
handle the Ebola situation.
V. Preview: First I will discuss what is Ebola and the World Health Organization. I will then present to
you the accomplishments and why they should be able to handle the situation. Lastly, I will talk about
the failures towards the Ebola virus and they should not continue to

Picture Went Viral
In today s world, images have become a form of self expression. People use images to show how they
are feeling. From a selfie, at a family vacation, to their halloween evening, dressed as their favorite
superhero. None the less, images have also become a way for people to express their thoughts towards
other people and a form of approval. My Embarrassing Picture Went Viral by Caitline Seida touches
on how, she, a girl with polycystic ovarian syndrome and a failing thyroid gland posted a picture, of
her halloween evening with her friends, that soon became of fountain of hate comments that ranged
from What a waste of space to You should kill yourself (Seida 675). What Selfie Sticks Really Tell us

You get a taste of it, and then you want it more and more. (Murphy 3) Both Seida and Murphy see
images as having both a negative and a positive association. To them images are a form of self
expression. You are capturing a memory into a still photo, which is the positive form of it. You are
creating memories that you SHOULD worship and love but the moment you go and post it on social
media seeking approval from other people, that s when it becomes a negative form of an image. What
I understood from both essay is that the moment you post an image on social media in search from
approval or even if your not, you are putting yourself at risk to cyber bully or let downs because at the
end of the day you are not the one who is deciding which type of people are commenting on your
photo. Honestly to me, my personal opinion, I sometimes fall into the same category as the people
who post pictures for approval. Whether it be on snapchat, instagram, or facebook, when I post
pictures I am constantly looking at the number of likes it has gotten or the number of views it has
received. For the most part I agree with these essays. I do agree that when you post pictures of social
media, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment because not everyone might like the
picture you are posting. But what I don t agree with is what Murphy says about what taking selfies tell
us about ourselves, I don t believe that taking selfies means that you have narcissistic, psychopathic
and Machiavellian personality. Overall I understand where both of these authors are coming from and
why they decided to write these two

Rioting Of The Stamp Act Of 1765
There are significant differences between the two days of rioting that took place after the passing of
the Stamp Act of 1765, by the British government. The first day of rioting, August 14, 1765, can easily
be linked to the passing of the Stamp Act, were it was proposed by the British Government for the
colonist to pay an extra tax on all the paper that they used. This first riot came about as a rebellion
against the implementation, and against the facilitators, of a tax that was seen unfair. The anger of the
colonist was clearly directed towards officials, exemplified by the leveling of what was supposed to be
the stamp building. The rioters then directing their anger towards the man who would be the stamp
distributor for the Massachusetts

  • 2. The Blind Side Vs Night Analysis One of they ways The Blind Side and Night are similar is that they share a common theme. The theme is people make it threw obsetcles more easily when other people help them with it. One main excample of this in both of the storys is that both of the characters face major obstcles throught the story. An excample in The Blind Side, if that the main character Micheal Oher has to face a diffulect situtation when he is a black kid and he has to go to a all white school. Another excample from the book night is when Elie and all of the jews get everything taken away from them when the holocaust starts. Some text evdience from the book is the same day, the hungarian police burst into every Jewish home in the town. ( Wiesel 10 ). Elie and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In The Blind Side it takes place in Memphis and the 20th century. Some evdience is his wandering out of black memphis into rich white memphis... ( lewis 334). It says he moved from poor to rich because he got adopted by a rich white family and he wa poor before he got adopted by them. My excample from the book Night is that it takes places in 1941 1945 in Germany and Translyvania, and in concentration camps. Evdience to prve that this is true is, The jews of Sighet the little town in Translyvana where i spent my childhood. (Wiesal 34). It says he grew up in Translyvania. Which he still lived during the start of the holocaust. Another main point is that the characters are different in the story. In The Blind Side it says Micheal Oher is a Black student that is big and he is older then Elie. To support that, He s the biggest player anyone ever seen. (Lewis 131). When Micheal walked into the all white school everyone looked at him differently even the teacher. The teacher described him as big and black. In the book Night Elie is different from MIcheal. In the book Night it said that Elie was 15 years old which is younger then Micheal. I also came to a conclusion that Elie in not as big as Micheal and that he is white. Evdience to support that is No your eighteen, but im not. Im fifteen. (Wiesal 30). To help explain this evdience, Elie had to say he was eighteen to stay with his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Plato the Philosopher Essay Plato was a philosopher who was born in Athens (470 390 BCE), and was also a student of Socrates. He felt that intelligence and one s perception belonged to completely independent realms or realities. He believed that general concepts of knowledge were predestined, or placed in the soul before birth even occurred in living things. Plato believed that the cosmos was intelligible, and the the universe was mathematically understandable. He believes that mathematical objects could be seen as perfect forms. Forms, a doctoral of Plato, can be understood as an everyday object or idea, which does not, exists in the everyday realm, but merely is existent in the hypothetical realm or reality. Louis Klein The National Gallery of art in Washington D.C. is pleased to announce that they will be hosting a restaging of pieces by Yves Klein along with a reenactment of Anthropometries, a performance piece that debuted in the International Gallery of Contemporary Art in 1947. The gallery is set to feature a wide range of Klein s pieces including Monochrome Blue, various performance pieces, and select experimental pieces from the end of his career. The wide array of pieces showcased guarantees enjoyment for enthusiasts of all kinds. In typical fashion, some of Klein s newly gained notoriety went to his head and in turn, shined through his works of art. For example, in his article True Blue featured in The New Yorker, Peter Schjeldahl mentioned that Still, some quality of ego transcending devotion persists through all Klein s work. Klein is very confident and fearless even when the work its not complex and leans toward minimalist. After several months of exhibitions he makes a shift in his style of art that has become known as his Blue Period (January 1957). Blue Monochrome was his first real success. It s notoriety came with a show based around his new color in question, International Klein Blue . What makes his new color interesting is that he actually created with the help of a chemist. Monochrome Blue has no trace of line or imagery, it simply surrounds the viewer in color, provoking meditation and deep thought. This notion of meditation and deep thought may be a reference to the sky, the Holy Ghost, or even Mary s robe which was often depicted as vibrant blue in Renaissance paintings. The idea to reference art history was a very contemporary and post modern idea showing him ahead of the times. • 5. Teaching Students with Adhd Teaching Students with ADHD J. Palmer Capella University Abstract In recent history, the number of students diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder has grown tremendously; causing teachers to face new challenges on how to instruct students with behavioral and learning difficulties. Students with ADHD have not only the privilege, but also the right to learn according to the Public Law 94 142 and the Americans with Disabilities Act. There is growing debate about methods that are best for students with ADHD including reward systems for behavior, to medications administered to the individual. In order for a student to learn with ADHD, teachers should integrate a variety of techniques, a general knowledge of medications and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on the research of Bennett et al. (1996), Elliott (1988), Liu et al. (1991), and Power et al. (1995), it was predicted that: 1. Teachers knowledge of ADHD, knowledge of treatments for ADHD, and ratings of acceptability for two common treatments (medication and behavior management strategies) would demonstrate moderate positive relationships with one another. 2. Teachers experience and training in working with students with ADHD would exhibit moderate positive relationships with their knowledge of ADHD, knowledge of treatments for ADHD, and ratings of treatment acceptability. Unfortunately some general education teachers have little to no training in teaching students with ADHD successfully. The teachers who had more information and training about ADHD and teaching techniques were found to be more likely to use the strategies and meet the academic needs of diagnosed students than teachers who had not received training (Glass, 2001). Medication and ADHD Throughout most research, teachers are shown to have different views on using medication for treatment of ADHD. Many believe that the popularity of ADHD is due to the endorsement of the medical profession; the doctors influence decision making in the government which then results in the popularization of the concept and the ever widening boundaries of its definition (Timimi, 2005). But there are also studies that show that students who are treated with medication are more likely to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Theories Of Albert Bandura The Theories of Albert Bandura I chose to research Albert Bandura. Albert is a contemporary psychologist specializing in development and educational psychology. A lot of his work revolves around the social learning theory. He is one of the most widely cited psychologists of all time. He was born in Alberta, Canada in a small town of Mundare. He was the youngest of six children, two of his siblings died when they were young one from a hunting accident and the other from the flu. (goodtherapy.org.llc) Albert Bandura was influenced by behaviorism while at the University Of Iowa where he earned his MA and his PhD. The many different variations of the tests that Bandura carried out, showing the model rewarded for their behavior, showing them punished for the same behavior, and with no consequences for their behavior, allowed him to establish that there is certain steps involved in the modelling process. 1) Attention, the more attention people pay the more they learn, if a model is likable, attractive and seems competent then you re more likely to pay attention. 2) Retention, you must be able to remember what you have seen, this is where imagery and language are important, so that you can copy the behavior. 3) Reproduction, being able to reproduce the behavior, (it s one thing to watch someone doing something, but another to actually have the ability to reproduce what you ve seen for yourself). Social learning theory of Bandura stresses the importance of observing and modelling, behaviors, attitudes, and emotional reactions of others. (Bandura 1977) states: Learning would be exceedingly laborious, not to mention hazardous, if people had to rely solely on the effects of their own actions to inform them what to do . 4) Motivation, you need to have some reason to want to do something. Bandura gives a number of reasons for this, past reinforcement, (traditional behaviorism) promised reinforcements, (incentives) vicarious reinforcement, recalling the model being reinforced, this is considered to be what causes us to learn, although Bandura believes it s more a case of, causing ... • 7. Comparing The Pursuit Of Happiness And Very Happy People Throughout all of the differences in this world, one thing we have in common is the desire to obtain happiness. Many articles have been written about the pursuit of happiness and how one can attain it. With an assortment of articles over the topic, it is only natural for many different views and ideas to be expressed by the numerous authors. Despite the many differences of opinions and beliefs of many authors, they all agree that happiness comes from helping others, living to a person s own values, and knowing what the true definition of happiness is. Carlin Flora s article The Pursuit of Happiness and Ed Diener and Martin Seligman s Very Happy People agree that even the happiest people do not have feelings of ecstasy or euphoric emotions. Flora, with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, some of those great emotions will fade away, and some will help happiness be consistent. In The Pursuit of Happiness and Very Happy People, there are similar points supporting the theory that happiness comes from helping others. Once again, there are reliable resources to back these claims, including another article, Just For the Joy of it. This article was written by Vicki Zakrzewski to address the topic of altruism. Altruism is a natural part of all of us, states Zakrzewski as she talks about the practice of selfless concern for others (Zakrezewski 22). Flora shows her full support of Zakrzewski s statement when she encourages the reader to perform acts of kindness for others on a regular basis to lift your mood in the moment and over time (Flora 69). Diener and Seligman s results showed that the very happy people had good social relationships. Good social relationships are formed on selflessness and sacrifice, further proving that altruism is a large factor in happiness. While making others feel good can increase happiness, it can also stem from making one s self feel good, both physically and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Carrie Fairchild Creative Writing Please excuse my late reply. I have been really busy with real life. I will give you the basics of what I am looking for and we can go from there. Keep in mind that anything here is up for discussion, I want the writer to have just as much input as me. If there is something you do not like or there is something you wish to change, don t be afraid to adjust the storyline around. I ask that only serious writers take on this role so please do not inquire if you are a serial profile maker or abandon days/weeks later. Carrie Fairchild is from Dallas, Texas. She comes from an elite werewolf pack and much like Hayley, she is of royal blood. Not wanting to lose, they align with a powerful coven that too wants the wolf pack out of Dallas. (The witches and vampires want them gone because the pack runs the city; not much goes on without the wolves knowing.) This coven cooks up a spell to banish any and all werewolf (triggered and untriggered) from Dallas. Much like the spell in TVD, they can t cross the city line. When this happens they head to New Orleans where their sister pack is; The Crescents. Hayley and the pack welcome them with open arms and offer to help them find a way to return home. Carrie and Hayley become quick friends and for now, they agree to merge the two packs into one. Both woman remain alphas and both are very respected by each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Discontentment In The Sun Also Rises While Faulkner writes with complex, disorganized sentences, and Hemingway writes more simply, both unique author s distinctive styles capture the feeling of discontentment in their fictional characters, such as Jake, in The Sun Also Rises, and Darl in, As I Lay Dying, by supplying insight on their daily life and the environment surrounding them. While Jake s discontentment is caused by a war wound, and Darl s sadness is created by his mother s death, Jake tries to conceal his emotions while Darl chooses to confront his issues directly. In, The Sun Also Rises, Jake Barnes is described as being physically damaged because of a war wound that impaired him during WWI. This is the cause for Jake s discontentment. When Darl addresses Dewey Dell about her mission to go to Jefferson, he says, You want her to die so you can get to town: is that it? She wouldn t say what we both knew. Why wont you say it, even to yourself? (25). Faulkner applies many intricate sentences when showing Darl s feeling of discontentment. He uses long, complicated statements to portray the complexity of Darl s thoughts, and to show exactly how Darl is confronting his issues instead of simply concealing them. Later in the novel Darl burns down a barn that his mother s coffin was lying in because he wanted to end the stressful torment that he had endured on the long trip to Jefferson. He wanted Addie to finally rest in peace and he was also tired of traveling with his selfish family members, like the father, Anse, whose main reason for the trip was just to get new teeth. Although he tried his best to end his internal, emotional suffering by burning down the barn, he failed because Jewel saved the coffin from the flames. With the down turn of the hosiery industry, SGA has had to make changes such as laying off people, reducing pay and benefits and other perks the employees were given over the many years when their company was more profitable. Now the company is looking at the possibility of a vote for unionizing. The union has been very aggressive in the workplace and the surrounding areas. While the leaders of the company do not want a union, the employees will have the final say, leaving the president of SGA in a very difficult situation. If handled correctly a letter is a great way of handing out information. However, the letter that was written could violate the Fair Labor act by threatening job security and possible other actions as seen fit by the president. In the article, Unfair labor practices , the writer lists examples of unfair practices and says, Examples of employer conduct that violate the NLRA: Threatening to close the business or facility if employees select a union to represent them (Unfair labor practices, 2011). SGA has to be careful. Also, another way to get the company s agenda out to everyone without any cost to the company is the use of social media. Keep in mind though, the same rules apply and the company needs to be respectful of the law. While some employees will never be happy, if enough employees see that the company is working for them and trying to do right by them, the need for a union could be eliminated in their minds. The union needs to be made to look as a useless entity and the company needs to be looked as a family and be a cohesive group of members working together to get to the same end goal. As Budd says his book, The use of outside union avoidance consultants and lawyers is a prominent component of employers campaigns (Budd, 2013). • 11. The New York City Draft Riots [H1]15.4: The Union Triumphant [keywords] Copperheads New York City Draft Riots Sherman s March to the Sea [/keywords] [learning objectives] By the end of this section, you will be able to: Describe the reasons why many Americans doubted that Abraham Lincoln would be reelected Explain how the Union forces overpowered the Confederacy By the outset of 1864, after three years of war, the Union had mobilized its resources for the ongoing struggle on a massive scale. The government had overseen the construction of new railroad lines and for the first time used standardized rail tracks that allowed the North to move men and materials with greater ease. The North s economy had shifted to a wartime model. The Confederacy also mobilized, perhaps to a greater degree than the Union, its efforts to secure independence and maintain slavery. Yet the Confederacy experienced ever greater hardships after years of war. Without the population of the North, it faced a shortage of manpower. The lack of industry, compared to the North, undercut the ability to sustain and wage war. Rampant inflation as well as food shortages in the South lowered morale. [H2]THE RELATIONSHIP WITH EUROPE From the beginning of the war, the Confederacy placed great hope in being recognized and supported by Great Britain and France. European intervention in the conflict remained a strong possibility, but when it did occur, it was not in a way anticipated by either the Confederacy or the Union. Napoleon III of ... For some civilizations in Africa, East Asia, India, and Europe, this was a perfect crop. Starting in 8,000 BCE, millet quickly spread around Africa and the Eurasian supercontinent, becoming one of the most commonly eaten grains in the world. • 20. Factors That Newly Relegated Burnley Football Club Faces... Abstract In this report I will discuss the difficulties that newly relegated Burnley football club faces when implementing budgetary strategies. I aim to illustrate how financial planning and more specifically Zero Based budgeting can enhance a clubs management of finances and create financial stability. Equally, I will try and present how variance analysis can be used to measure the success of budgetary projections within organisations and more specifically within the sports industry. 2. Introduction The relegation of a football club has the potential to cause financial instability. Clubs such as Leeds United and Portsmouth, due to inadequate budgeting have found themselves languishing as low as league 2 having found it difficult to budget effectively and then push for promotion. However, through sustainable and appropriate budgeting clubs can gain a more accurate picture of their financial health and bridge what in (Emery and Weed s 2006) opinion is a growing divide in the way football is financed . Budgeting itself does not only encourage a more safe and responsible way of spending money, it also can encourage more cohesive and productive relationships between the many different facets which make up an organisation. However one may argue that a newly relegated football club would be best served with a zero based budget as it enables a high level of critique when dealing with budgetary requests from managers. 3. I have had many role models throughout my life and they have all impacted my life in their own way. My biggest role models have been my 8th grade math teacher Ms. Gurrola, my maternal grandfather, Higinio, and my 8th grade Language Arts teacher, Ms. Cordova. Being a new member of the bilingual program at my school, Ms. Gurrola s math class was one of the most challenging because I had never taken a math class in Spanish before and although Spanish is my first language the terminology was new to me. To me, Ms. Gurrola was a great teacher in spite of her strict rules and at times unpleasant attitude. She knew her subject matter very well and was always open to helping her students whenever possible. She had a strong accent that made it evident that she was bilingual and that English was not her first language. It was rumored that she had come to the United States from Mexico with a convent of nuns but left and became a teacher. I did not realize her value as a teacher until one day that I stayed after school with her to finish an exam for her class. By early November, he was only ahead by an average of 1.5%. While North Carolina is widely considered a battleground state, Five Thirty Eight gave Burr a 73.4% chance of winning reelection. With the exception of a drop in the middle of October, Burrs chances of winning were consistent throughout the Senate race as shown below in figure 2. Although Burr was never able to reach 50% in the polls, he exceeded that threshold on Election Day and defeated Ross by almost 6%. In order to analyze the political climate further, I will be comparing the exit polls for both Trump vs. Clinton and Burr vs Ross. Jordan, seeks to provide evidence that global climate change caused by global warming is currently in affect and requires immediate attention and action. Jordan claims that the Earth s climate has been undergoing significant and alarming changes for the past thirty years. He provided evidence based on observations, theoretical models, and calculations made by other researchers. The article addressed the increase in temperature over the years and claimed 2005 to be the warmest year in the last century. There is much fear, as temperature continues to increase, that possible ice reduction and melted ice sheets and glaciers in the Artic, Antarctica, and Greenland may occur and cause a rise in sea levels. If the Antarctic ice sheet melts, the sea level is calculated to rise two hundred feet, while if the ice sheet in Greenland melts, the sea level is calculated to rise seven meters, approximately twenty feet. The rise in sea level is affecting coastal areas. Many coastal areas are expected to sooner or later be flooded or below sea level. This can have terrible consequences for high populated coastal areas. Another problem that global warming may have on the world s oceans is the possible change in the global oceanic conveyor belt . The poem is among the most easily recognizable and familiar works written by Frost. On the surface, this poem is a short encounter at the edge of a snowy forest. Perhaps its outer simplicity is what makes the poem stand out in the minds of readers. The straightforward structure and balanced rhyme pattern make it easy to recite and the imagery Frost evokes is both beautiful and engaging. However, this surface level is only a façade to the underlying subject matter. As Ciardi puts it, the surface level events display ... the pretended simplicity of the narrative, suggesting that Frost intends a deeper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He also doesn t describe the physical traits or gender of the narrator (hereinafter referred to as male). This is an attempt to make the situation more easily relatable to a large pool of readers representing any errand as well as any person. As Ciardi puts it, The errand ... is left generalized in order the more aptly to suggest any errand in life and, therefore, life itself (Ciardi 14). Ciardi goes on to examine the man talked about in the poem. This man represents the village of mankind and thus tells us that the narrator is divided or has chosen to divide himself from society at least for a short horse ride (Ciardi 14). This division is an important theme in the poem, instantly showing us that the reflection is a highly personal experience for the narrator. The horse in the poem, on the other hand, is the narrator s connection to reality. Ciardi goes so far as to call the horse the foil of the protagonist for disagreeing with his actions demonstrated in the line My little horse must think it queer / To stop without a farmhouse near (CITE). This horse has been subject to analysis by other critics as well, Virginia Faulkner explains that the horse represents male sexual potency (Faulkner 560). Though not many critics agree with Faulkner in the respect that the poem is dealing with an amatory adventure, the sexual connotations of the horse still adhere to its connection with the narrator through the symbolism of ... Theories Of Finding Nemo Personality Theories Essay over the movie Finding Nemo The purpose of this essay is to watch the movie and try to view the main character from three personality theorists perspectives. In the movie Finding Nemo, Marlin was a clown fish who lost his son, Nemo, in the vast ocean. Along his journey to find his son, he ran into Dory, a blue tang fish who suffered from short term memory loss. Dory provided moral support and comfort in this search that Marlin has been missing for years. Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs Maslow s hierarchy of needs is a systematic arrangement of needs according to priority in which basic needs must be met before less basic needs are aroused. At the point in the movie where Dory meets Marlin, Dory was stuck on the second level of Maslow s pyramid because she lacked in needs of love and belongingness that is necessary to climb up higher on the hierarchy of needs. When she is introduced in the movie, she had no love, no family, no self esteem, and was only concerned about the basic needs in life like safety and security. At the point in the movie where Marin pulls her out of the jellyfish, Dory progressed to the third level of the pyramid because in her dedicated pursue to aid and assist Marlin, they had developed a relationship. Marlin then accepted Dory and she felt a sense of affiliation and acceptance. Dory was then able to progress through the rest of Maslow s hierarchy of needs. Friedman and Rosenman Behavior Type pattern In Finding Nemo, Dory had a type B personality because she was normally very easy going and relaxed. A type B personality is defined as a child ego state characterized by a form of behavior associated by Friedman and Rosenman with people who appear free of hostility and aggression and who lack a compulsion to meet deadlines, are not highly competitive at work and play, and have a lower risk of heart attack (Farlex, 2012). The ornaments that will be conserve should have some sort of functions or meanings. Overall, I believed Loos s was trying to transfer people s attention from the ornament of building to the function of the building. He wanted to show that ornament is not as important as the function of building itself. I totally agree with his point, but there is always the problem of losing something when people try to change something. • 35. The Effects Of Dyslexia On Children With Dyslexia Essay Many learning disabilities world wide are over looked if a child doesn t learn at the rate of the other children, but a teacher might assume that the student is mentally challenged. That might not be the case. Students world wide struggle with the learning disability known as dyslexia. Dyslexia is known for the way it twists words and numbers in ones head. It s almost as if the persons mind is playing a trick on itself. The person might read the text backward or even say his or her thoughts backwards. Just because one has dyslexia does not mean that he or she cannot major in any specific major. Someone with dyslexia may choose which ever major he or she may like, although it will be harder for the person and so they will have to put more time in and work harder than everyone else. This is true in nursing students with dyslexia; they have to put more hard work in than anyone else and yet they still might not be where they want to be. In the article Experience of Nursing Students with Dyslexia on Clinical Placement by Christopher McPheat, the author informs people that students with dyslexia need more help in the clinical setting. He writes with a serious tone to let the audience know that this is not a light situation and to take it very seriously. • 36. The Third Bank Of The River By Roger Rosenblatt Journey means to travel, to start at one point and move on to another. It was clearly demonstrated in The Children of Cambodia, an essay by Roger Rosenblatt. It takes place in 1983 where he interviewed Cambodia children after the reign of Pol Pot. Pol Pot was the leader of Cambodia during the 1970s and he led 1.5 million Cambodians into death of starvation, execution, or being overworked. In another topic of journey, The Third Bank of the River, written by J.G. Rosa, is about a father who abandons his family by traveling away on a canoe for years without reason. Finally, Cathedral is a story written by Ray Carver in which a judgmental man lets his wife s blind friend spend the night at their house and things turn out unexpectedly. The main resolution these three pieces of writing have in common is that at least one character undergoes a journey. In deeper detail, journey can be from realizing things about life or oneself, aging from adolescence into adulthood, or moving on. These three stories portray journey in different ways. In The Third Bank of the River, journey is shown by the family. The importance of the father going into complete isolation represents the effects he has on his peers. There is an opposite effect from this story because the father s abandonment left a prominent mark on the family and their future. From an outside perspective, some may assume that the father would be the one who s miserable and empty, yet this story carries out the reverse ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rikki Tikki Tavi, a short story written by Rudyard Kipling, has the theme of Good triumphs over evil. Rikki, the protagonist, is good. He is loyal, courageous, and protective. Nagaina, the antagonist, however, is evil. She is selfish, threatening, determined to get what she wants, and is as dishonorable as a fox. The theme Hard work can bring a great reward could be thought of as the theme by some, but that will be disproved within this essay. In the exposition, Rikki, a young mongoose in India, is saved by a family, who has a boy named Teddy, after he is washed away in a flood. • 39. Western Operas Depict Inaccurate Facts about the Orients In this essay, I am going to discuss and make a stand that western operas depict inaccurate facts about the orients. In order to substantiate my stand, I will also look into some of the western operas that are based on the orient. There are many definitions of Orientalism. Some examples are as followed. According to the oxforddictionaries.com, Orientalism is Style, artifacts, or traits considered characteristic of the peoples and cultures of Asia. (Oxford University Press 2014) Edwards Said, author of the book Orientalism defines Orientalism as a corporate institution for dealing with the Orient , dealing with it by making statements about it, authorizing views of it, describing it, by teaching it, settling it, ruling over it: in short, Orientalism as a Western style for dominating, restructuring, and having authority over the Orient. (Locke 1993, under Reflections on Orientalism in Opera ) From the definitions available, it can concluded that the word orient in the term of Orientalism is referring to either the Islamic Middle East (e.g. North Africa, Turkey, Arabia, Persia), or East and South Asia (the Far East , e.g. India, Indochina, China, Japan). Orientalism has been part of western arts for a long time. Orientalism in Music occurred since the late Renaissance. Animals may use mimicry as camouflage so they can easily catch prey or escape their predator. For humans, mimicry is more than just flattering, it s a style choice. When you imitate someone it s because they ve affected you personally and forced you into an unknown body; a substitute for the real you. Would you expect a newborn baby to understand the inner workings of a language? Of course not! Newborn s minds are not developed enough to understand language or anything, besides how to eat. However, over time the baby s brain will develop and more information could be stored in knowledge. We teach our children a method of mimicry called repetition and is the basis for all learning under the age of nine years old. As children fall into this mushy cycle of repeating everything they see, they often look to their role models and providers: their parents. Parents provide the basis for children s accent, speech pattern, body language, and reactions. Parents are the child s teacher in every way, shape, and form possible. What would you do if you lost that parent? As a young child, I experienced an abundance of death amongst my family members. Young, old, they would all fall a great fate sooner than expected.
