Reflection Paper On Figure Skating
The second my feet lifted off the soap caked floor, I felt different. The skin on my neck was tingling,
adrenaline was racing through my body, and my bones were engaged in a newfound excitement. My
mother was wrong. The bathroom floor is a fun place to go figure skating on soap suds. My sister,
Emily, and I began our skating journey at Kent State University, where we had been enrolled in Learn
To Skate classes for as long as we could remember. Spinning circles faster than a horse around the
kitchen table in our socks was a common occurrence. We were perpetually moving.
Thus, it should not have been a surprising event when one lazy Saturday morning, Emily and I were
sitting around playing dolls as we waited for our parents to wake up. For a six and nine year with the
energy of a small volcano, it was as boring as sitting and watching paint dry. It is my Achilles heel to
cause trouble when my mind is not stimulated, so I ventured off down the hall into the bathroom to
see if there would be anything interesting to do there. My sister grabbed my hand and pulled me into a
somewhat tangled, clumsy dance that was supposed to represent the figure skating we did at Kent. We
couldn t have looked much better than the Cleveland Browns playing football, but for us, we felt as if
we would be going to the Olympics in figure skating within the next few weeks. However, spinning
around in our socks eventually grew tiring, as well, so we looked for a way to make the bathroom

Feed, A Futuristic Novel
Feed, a futuristic novel by M.T. Anderson, left me feeling disturbed about the faults in perfection. In a
society completely ruled by technology, most of the country has a chip implanted in their brain since
birth that acts as a phone, computer, television, and more, which known as the feed. The feed allows
people to chat using just their connected brains, watch television programs, play games, order goods,
and research any topic. From the start, I recognized that this was a scary concept, because it meant that
website owners and product producers had access to one s thoughts, preferences, and personality.
What made this book so eerie was that I could experience what it would be like to have a constant
voice in my head, directing me to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the feed, with everyone having access to whatever they please already in their brain,
everyone is smart, and no one has to work for it. There is mass danger in this concept. If everyone is
smart, no one is smart, because no one knows more than anyone else, and no one stands out. It s like if
you were to highlight everything in an article. If you did that, nothing would be important anymore.
This is what the feed does. It is run by companies who search everyone s brains, and create products
that will appeal to everyone. In order to do that, the companies need to make a very simple product
everyone can enjoy, slowly deteriorating difference, and slowly making everyone simpler people. In
light of what the novel stresses: that making things too easy for humans will ruin the meaning for their
existence, the author creates a character essential to get this point across. Violet, Titus girlfriend, was
different from Titus and his friends. She grew up with less money than them, and with parents against
the feed from the start. However, she eventually got the feed, only to run into problems when a hacker
damages it permanently. Violet, unlike Titus, understands that companies running the feed were slowly
abusing their power to create products they know will have mass appeal. Violet resists this, trying to
create a personality profile that cannot fit in with the norms of the feed. Later, when Violet s feed,
which has latched on

Lady Germanotta Accomplishments
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, known famously by her stage name, Lady Gaga, is an American
singer, songwriter and performance actress. Active since 2001, Gaga achieved international fame upon
the release of her first album The Fame in 2008 featuring hits including Just Dance, Paparazzi and
Poker Face. Her subsequent albums The Fame Monster (2009), Born This Way (2011), Artpop (2013)
and Cheek to Cheek (2014) helped secure her foothold as an eccentric and versatile pop star selling a
combined 28 million copies. Her achievements also include six Grammy Awards, 13 MTV Music
Video Awards, 13 Guinness World Records for music and social media related achievements, the
Songwriter s Hall of Fame s Contemporary Icon Award and frequent listings by Billboard, Forbes and

However, her raw musical talent, beauty, passion and personality are most likely the tipping point for
the scales of popularity. Her connection and devotion to her fans however are by far the most obvious
achievement. They share letters of their often heartbreaking stories, calling her Mother Monster and
expressions such as Oh my Lady Gaga have become popular in China for conveying surprise. She in
turn, replies to the letters, wears the clothes fans craft for her and decorates her rooms with their arts
and gifts. In the recording studio she is revered as one of the few artists of her generation to be so
involved with the whole recording process. Knowing what the artist is doing and what the final
recording is to sound like is often a multi person job. However, Gaga shoulders the burden along with
the rest of the members in the studio who applaud her efforts. She is not seeking attention, she knows
that she has it. And with it she hopes to make the world a better

Communication in the Workplace
Communication in the Workplace Regardless of the environment in which one works, communication
is always vital and a key factor of success. Communication happens both physically and verbally and
is absolutely essential if you want to inform someone about something. Communication has two main
components, sending out a message to someone, and ensuring the message is received correctly to the
other member of the conversation. It is therefore fair to say speaking and listening are vital to effective
communication. I will talk about how effective communication is needed in my current position, as
well as the future. Computer Science is the name of my degree choice. Once graduated, I intend on
becoming an Information Technology ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This, in turn, results in ineffective listening which decreases the overall communication. Effective
listening is an essential skill for an IT consultant. The reason for this is that I will be working closely
with a mixed range of clients and customers who have their own demands. Alongside them I will also
be given an authoritative figure within the support department. I will need to have an extremely good
understanding of what the clients want. I will have to fully listen to all of the client s needs, and then
create solutions. I will need to fulfill the client s needs in a logical and timely manner. Although
communication is usually thought of as being only oral, emotional intelligence can be used as well.
Emotional intelligence can be described as a skill in perceiving, understanding, and managing
emotions and feelings (dictionary.com). Emotional Intelligence (EI) is used to improve interpersonal
skills. EI sets about identifying one s emotion and then regulating them to result in effective
communication. This is required when in management, as it involves meeting new members of staff as
well as re informing the current staff with any new business goals and objectives. Neuro linguistic
programming (NLP) is extremely important when communicating. Neuro Linguistic Programming is
an extremely powerful concept. It is said by many to contain the most accessible, positive and useful

The Social Effects Of The Industrial Revolution
Evaluation of Sources About The Social Effects of The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution mainly refers to the transition from manual production to machinery
production in the period from about 1760 to 1840. It first appeared in the Great British and marks an
important turning point in history as nearly every aspect of the human society was influenced by it in
some way. This essay focuses on the social effects of the Industrial Revolution. As for the sources
used to analyze the question, they are all searched from the Internet including Wikipedia and
professional databases that are credible enough and revised and checked by many people. To
guarantee the credibility of the sources, professional websites and articles that are accepted by people
are chose. First of all, to get a general understanding about the topic, credible websites such as
Wikipedia can be used to search for information about it. Then databases of papers that are much more
credible can be used to find professional research papers about the topic. I mainly focused on the key
words, the Industrial Revolution and social effects, when searching for sources and identified the
following three sources as my materials for the essay. On Wikipedia, there is an article that presents a
general description of the Industrial Revolution and its effects. After a simple definition ... Show more

What Is Delormier Giddens Theory Of Structuration
Introduction:
Delormier, Frohlich, Potvin, (2009) used Giddens theory of structuration, specifically the concepts of
social practice, the duality of the social structure, and agency to develop a conceptual framework in
their research on food as a social practice. According to Giddens (1984) social practices are at the root
of the constitution of both agent and society (ibid.: 1984:xxii); and social structures constitute rules
and resources which actors draw upon during practice, creating both enabling and constraining
conditions of practice (ibid.: 1984: xxii, 25). It is from this perspective that Delormier, Frohlich and
Potvin (2009) highlight that individual action is not determined by the social structure, but rather
enacted and concretised by people through the choices they make during social practice, and that
through their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other scholars have suggested that the many actions that aimed at transforming Central and Eastern
European societies in the late 80s and early 90s served as springboard for many scholarship on human
agency and social structures (Ahearn, 2001). Several scholarships on the concept have attempted to
subdivide it into different categories: the agency of (unequal) power (Ortner, 2006:147); residential
agency and representational agency (Kockelman, 2007); the performance of agency and the
grammatical encoding of agency (Duranti, 2007). The wide interest and use of the concept in the
social sciences and humanities also imply the proliferation of definitions though with foundation in

influence a specific process or state of affairs; that is it can be thought of as the capacity to act

Lunar Surface Processes And Its Impact On The Earth Essay
Lunar Surface Processes Complex alterations of the lunar surface occur, despite the fact that lunar
processes are much less varied and dynamic than those of the Earth. The most important source of
lunar surface alteration, at least over the last three billion years, is evidenced by the Moon s heavily
pocked and cratered surface. The Moon is continuously bombarded by external objects ranging in size
from small specks of dust to giant bodies tens of kilometers in diameter. These impacts are governed
primarily by gravity as the solar system continues to evolve. Celestial bodies within the solar system
are continually being rearranged by close encounters with one another, altering orbits, and over the
course of geologic time, causing collisions with other bodies. These collisions result in two possible
outcomes: fragmentation or cratering. If the colliding objects are of a similar size, collisional
fragmentation and annihilation occur, producing a large number of smaller fragments from both
involved bodies. If the objects are of differing sizes, collision results in an impact crater on the target
body. Since objects that encounter the Moon are dramatically smaller than the Moon itself, cratering
occurs. Typical impact velocities of asteroidal objects on the Moon are between 15 and 25 km/sec.
With these high velocities, in combination with the high frequency of impact, the cumulative kinetic
energy on lunar surface exceeds the lunar internal energy released by

Essay about Advertising In Baseball Stadiums
Introduction
Baseball is considered to be America s favorite pastime and has become popular all over the world.
This sport is watched by millions of people every time there is a game played. People will go to the
stadiums to watch and a lot of fans will watch the game on television. Since there are so many people
watching these games, advertising has become more and more apart of every baseball stadium due to
the amount of exposure a company can receive by using the many types of ads found in a baseball
stadium. The stadiums use billboards, fences, green screens, merchandise, airplanes, names of
stadiums, and scoreboards as all different ways to advertise a company s product.
Billboards

It is the background of the outfielders and whenever a ball is hit out there or someone wants to look at
the scoreboard, people have to look at the outfield and have really no choice to look at the
advertisements on the fences. GAP Inc. really benefited from company s putting there ads on the
fence, because left centerfield and right centerfield are called the gap in baseball leaving a lot of
stadiums to use GAP as their advertisement in that area on the fence. Fences are really useful due to
how visible they are throughout an entire game.
Green Screens
Technology is making advertising much easier in baseball stadiums and the use of green screens is
really starting to take off. Greens screens are only visible to fans watching the game on television, but
are very useful due to how easy it is to switch an advertisement during an inning of the game. The
green screens are usually located behind the umpire on the backstop to left of batter s box for left
handed batters. This is not a distraction to pitchers or infielders, because they use a green screen which
is similar to the centerfield sitting area. This area never sits any fans and is either black or green in a
stadium so that the batter is not distracted when a pitcher is throwing a pitch. Marketers like the ads
because they dominate the background behind the pitcher hitter confrontation, which is the central
image in a baseball telecast. Plus, if an advertisement takes place during

Mcmahan s Epistemic Limitations
I now turn my attention towards McMahan s general proposition concerning epistemic limitations in
regards to another aspect that is beyond an individual s control. He suggests that a soldier is
epistemically unjustified for accepting beliefs based on little evidence because it conforms to a
distorted ideology that they have of the world. He states that a unjust soldier that is acting ...based on
factual beliefs for which there is little or no evidence but that he accepts it uncritically because the
factual beliefs cohere well with the way his distorted ideology says that the world ...has little or no
epistemically‐based excuse for participating in his side s unjust war (McMahan 138). Once again, on
the surface, McMahan appears to have a sound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will admit that this is a strong counter, as it is reasonable to claim that the soldier with distorted
views should both acknowledge that his racist views would conflict with his behavior during the war.
It is also reasonable to say that the soldier should attempt to resolve his conflict before going into an
unjust war. That being said, human beings, by nature, are creatures of habit. Just as it takes years for
us to develop our traits, we also develop behaviors and practices that stay with us for a prolonged
period of time, perhaps for the rest of our lives. Most of our views and practices are established at an
early age, so if you ve been practicing something for so long, it eventually becomes a part of your
belief system. It will be extremely difficult to abandon an idea that you have in your belief system. As
such we can see that these distorted ideologies, albeit not healthy or helpful in our relationships with
others over time, is extremely hard to permanently get rid

Essay On Male Circumcision
The choice of circumcision is purely a personal choice and an elective procedure that each family can
make their own decision on. However, there are many medical benefits that have medical evidence to
support. Male circumcision is the removal of some or all of the foreskin covering the head of the penis
(Circumcision Academy of America, 2016). This procedure is one of the most common medical
procedures performed on male infants in the United States, typically occurring after 24 hours of life,
and almost always done within 10 days. There is current evidence that the health benefits of newborn
male circumcision outweigh the risks, and therefore justify access to this procedure for families who
choose it (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2012). There are many medical benefits of circumcision

Circumcision reduces the risk of penile cancer. It has been found that the incidence of penile cancer is
about 1 in 100,000, but in uncircumcised men is 1 in a 600 chance (Hall, 2008). Penile cancer is
almost exclusively found in uncircumcised men. Uncircumcised men have a higher etiological risk
including of human papillomavirus (HPV), phimosis, and balanitis due to their location of the glans
penis and coronal sulcus which is covered by the foreskin (Morris, et al., 2011). There is evidence that
circumcised men may clear HPV more quickly and phimosis which is a congenital narrowing of the
foreskin opening, restriction impeding the passage of urine and the ability to clean under the foreskin
(Circumcision Academy of America, 2016). Phimosis almost exclusively occurs in uncircumcised men

Synthetic Biological Engineering Essay
Starting at the earliest of high school levels, students are being taught about biological synthetic
engineering, or being able to create life out of chemicals of varying types. The idea of being able to
create life from just about nothing is something that is becoming popular. While it has its advantages
for scientific purposes as far as medicine is concerned, the fact that the FBI has to be involved to make
sure that the sequences are not being distributed for unlawful purposes, such as bioterrorism overseas
or throughout the United States is a troublesome factor. The sequences being developed in these
laboratories could be very dangerous to people around the world if they are in the hands of people

The scientists can build organisms to consume toxic chemicals in water or soil that would not
otherwise decompose. The positive aspects of this synthetic engineering are growing every day. The
United States is just getting its first glimpse of everything these scientists are working to develop
(pbs.org). While there are a great amount of advantages to the developments of biological synthetic
engineering, the disadvantages are a pressing matter as well. As biological engineering develops, the
sequences with which the scientists work are becoming more complex(pbs.org). The sequences are
still simple enough, however, to be followed by just about anyone who knows things about science.
Therefore if they are given to people who are not meant to obtain them they can be used to create very
dangerous objects. The federal government has spoken about the possibility of bioterrorist attacks and
the spreading of diseases that have been contained but do not actively have cures, such as the bird flu
and smallpox. Because of the many possible uses of the advancement of biological engineering, it
continues to be approached with much caution, for the safety of the American people(pbs.org).
Although the work in the labs are performed with what are called Biosafety Level 1 organisms the
safest organisms known, the federal government has been keeping closely involved with the
developments of synthetic engineering (pbs.org). The FBI is ensuring

Fort Sumter Essay
Introduction: On the twelfth of April 1861, Union troops had just taken refuge in Fort Sumter under
the cover of darkness. They were out number out gunned and running out of time. The newly formed
Confederate States of America (CSA) had now occupied the five other military installations within the
Garrison. At 0430, the first shot of the American Civil War rang out and Fort Sumter was fast under
the barrage that the surrounding garrison forts occupied by the confederate forces (sumter). Major
Anderson was reluctant to return fire, as his previous orders were not to be the aggressor. The first
shots returned in volley to the confederate forces was by a private under the Major Anderson, who
raced up to the third story of Fort Sumter where the largest artillery guns were loaded and ready to
fire. In following his lead, other soldiers in the fort also began firing on the confederate antagonists
(Civil War Journal: Destiny of Fort Sumter, 1993). Thirty four hours later Major Anderson surrendered
the fort over to General Beauregard without a single loss of life on either side of the battle. However,
death was soon to befall the soldiers of Fort Sumter. Thesis: The complete lack of organized military
and government intelligence solidified the abysmal start to the civil war. If the Union leadership
during the Buchanan administration had anticipated the treachery of the southern officers and leaders
within the federal government then they could have prevented the secession

Straight Edge Movement
The main topic of this article is punk culture, but specifically a subset of hardcore punk culture called
Straight Edge. The article traces the evolution of the Straight Edge movement from the 1980 s 2000 s.
This author argues that the Straight Edge movement evolved to become a lifestyle and an ideology. In
short, the author argues that as the Straight Edge movement evolved, the original ideology associated
with the movement shifted in the opposite direction due in part to the changing demographic of the
Straight Edge movement. The author s primary sources include interviews and testimonials from
individuals that were part of the movement, usually taken from magazines or books about the Straight
Edge movement. In order to establish what the Straight Edge movement was all about, this author also
looks at the actual Hardline Manifesto from which the Straight Edge movement branched off of, but

in the movement as well. Unlike other articles, this author uses academic books about ... Show more

Even though the movement started out with promoting abstinence and veganism, the ambiguity of the
associated ideology and the changing demographics of the culture have distorted the original values of
the movement. Furthermore, this contribution also reveals the dangers of making societal values a
center of a movement, especially since the dominant demographic of the movement can change what
the values of the movement itself. In order to attract people to a movement, the values of a movement
have to allow for a certain ambiguity, but that ambiguity can be twisted and stretched based on the
demographic and that brings up real life implications, especially when it comes to enacting the

While I applaud the Bush administration for taking viable steps towards stopping the practice of
frivolous lawsuits, I do not feel that it is in my position to place a price tag on a human life. While
tragic cases such as these place insurance companies, doctors, legislators and families in an ethical and
legal dilemma, it is the lawyers who pursue a common practice known as ambulance chasing, that
causes the root of all of these problems. Having originally acquired its name from personal injury
lawyers, this immoral method is applied when a law firm contacts a recent accident victim and pries
them into taking their cases to court. In many states, laws have been instilled that ban ambulance
chasing specifically accident victims however money hungry lawyers have found ways to outthink the

For my cultural experience, I decided to connect with my roots. Even though I am Hispanic American,
my parents never truly exposed me to my Mexican culture. This assignment seemed like the perfect
opportunity to connect with elements of my heritage.
My parents were born and raised in downtown Joliet, so I went to them to ask them where the best
place would be to go find those types of experiences. They told me that the East side of Joliet would
be my best chance of experiencing a new cultural experience.
The following day, I decided to take a trip to this region. As I came closer to approaching the East
side, I noticed that the surroundings around me started changing quite drastically. A great percentage
of signs posted on billboards and businesses were written in Spanish. No English on the signs was

Back To Back Analysis
Drake didn t waste anytime dropping another diss record aimed at Meek Mill. Drake s Back to Back is
the follow up to the rapper s first diss track regarding Mill, which is entitled Charged Up. Besides
going on Twitter to respond to Drake, Mill has yet to lyrically respond to the Toronto rapper. Drake
addressed Mill s actions in Back to Back by rapping that Mill s trigger fingers turned to Twitter
fingers. Mill was expected to drop a response to Drake on Monday night, but that diss record never
came into fruition. Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex, who intially involved himself in the ghostwriting
accusations, announced on social media that Mill was dropping a response to Charged Up. The DJ
posted on Instagram that the Mill s response would premiere on Hot 97 at 7pm (Eastern standard
time), but unfortunately Flex never received the song. Fans and listeners tuned in awaiting the Mill
diss record, and once they realized there was no song, anticipation turned into anger. People were
pointing fingers at Hot 97 and Flex, and someone even created a petition to have Flex fired from the
radio station. Hot 97 s Ebro ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Back to Back diss, Drake rapped about Mill being on tour with Minaj. You love her then you gotta

This ain t what she meant when she told you to open up more. It should also be noted Drake named

Centers For Disease Control And Prevention
Situs Inversus
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention there are approximately three million
babies born in the United States each year (Martin et al.). While there is always risk that a baby could
have any number of health conditions, one rarely occurring condition is situs inversus. Situs refers to
the position of an organ, with situs solitus being the ordinary arrangement of organs (Dictionary).
Situs inversus is when the organs in the chest and abdomen are mirrored, or opposite, of where their
ordinary location should be. This is a unique genetic condition that affects 1 in 10,000 babies born
each year ( 15 Incredible Situs Inversus Statistics ). While situs inversus is the general term used, there
are three subtypes of the condition that can occur: dextrocardia, levocardia and ambiguous. The two
main subtypes of situs inversus are dextrocardia and levocardia, with the third subtype being situs
ambiguous. The differences between the two main subtypes are based on the position of the heart. If
the heart is still on the left side yet the rest of the organs are flipped, it is considered situs inversus
with levocardia. However, if the heart is on the right side instead of the left, along with the rest of the
organs being flipped, it is considered situs inversus with dextrocardia, also known as situs inversus
totalis, or a true mirror image . Of the two, levocardia is the most rare, with an occurrence rate of only
1 in 22,000 births ( 15 Incredible

Theme Of Coming Of Age In Mississippi
Coming of age in Mississippi is an autobiography written by an activist Anne Moody, also known as
Essie Mae, about growing up in the poor southern part of Mississippi as an African American in the
middle 20th century. It consist of four part; childhood, high school, college and The Movement. The
absurdity of racial distinctions, the evil of disunity among blacks in the face of white oppression and
the destructive power of prejudice are the three theme of this autobiography. There was always a
discrimination between the blacks and the whites. The whites would publically insult black and
announce that they were genetically inferior to white. This made Anne want to know what made them
different to whites. One day she made her white friends undress

Mono Zygotics
Literature Review
In recent years, mental health professionals have become increasingly aware of the importance of
genetic factors in the etiology (causes) of mental disorders. Since the Human Genome Project began
its mapping of the entire sequence of human DNA in 1990, the implications of its findings for
psychiatric diagnosis and treatment have accumulated rapidly. A new subspecialty known as biological
psychiatry (also called physiological psychology or psychiatric genetics) has emerged from the
discoveries of the last two decades. Biological psychiatry got its start in the late 1980s, when several
research groups identified genes associated with manic depression and schizophrenia respectively.

Sylvia Beach s Ballet Technique
While Antheil was living in Paris in the 1920 s, Sylvia Beach introduced him to a filmmaker by the
name of Fernand Legér. Together they came up with an idea that would eventually be conceived as
Ballet Mécanique. While both the film and the score were created at the same time, the two were very
quickly separated into their own separate artistic entities. Inspired by the factory setting he grew up in,
and the avant garde art he was exposed to while living in Paris. The Ballet has had many different
premieres and many rewrites since the very first premiere in 1926. The orchestration of the piece was
not to concerning for Antheil: citing that instruments continue to change and improve but the
mechanical devices he was writing for are immortal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But problems arose even without music, as the promoter Donald Friede the vice president of the
publishing firm Boni Liverwright had never promoted a live show, certainly not as big as this one. The
next problem was the backdrop behind the orchestra; Antheil felt that the traditional curtain would not
suite his needs so he asked Joseph Mullen to create two backdrops for the performance. The first
backdrop was created for his Jazz Symphony which depicted an African American couple dancing the
Charleston while the male is firmly grasping her buttocks in front of an American flag background.
This piece was performed by an African American orchestra. This only heightened the controversy.
The next one, created for Ballet Mécanique depicts a futuristic city with the focal point being a
Dadaist representation of Marcel Duchamp s Fountain, and a more than life size figure of a man
jumping off a diving board that seemed to be attached to a curved pipe of the sort generally used in
connection with a toilet. Even after thoroughly scaring the New York elite, more problems arose when
the combination of the house curtain and the two created backdrops absorbed a great amount of sound.
Due to a mix up, the string quartet originally planned to be played second, was played first. Leaving
many audience members not at the front of the hall or in a box bored and irritated very

Get Paid For Grades
Title of Your Report
Should students be paid for receiving good grades? Yes students should get paid for having good
grades. Many students don t really care about their grades because they don t get a reward. Many teens
don t do nothing to fix their grades they only fix it when they are on a sport. If parents would reward
them for having good grades students would have A and B. Students should get paid because it teaches
to be responsible with money, it can also motivate them, and it can help them in the future.
To begin, Students could be responsible with things if they could see how hard it is to earn what they
want. Money teaches teens to save and only buy what they need not what they want. Most parents
reward students with money because students want to buy lunch because they don t like school
lunches. Teens are spending most of their money on food. Rewarding students makes them feel to try
harder and harder each time.
Another reason, Parents can motivate students by paying them for having excellent grades and
excellent behavior. Well you might be asking yourself how does money benefit students? Well it
motivate teens to maintain high grades. And it can actually help them in the future for example for
college. Another question you might have is how much should i paid my student? Well most parents
paid students $20 for each A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How can money help students in the future? Well it can help them paid for collage. Money can also
help students if they have an accident in the future. You might be asking yourself, is giving students
money a good thing or a bad thing? Giving teens money is a good thing because they can buy what
they need for school. But giving students too much money could be bad because most teens are

Women s Status Of Women
INTRODUCTION
Throughout history and civilization women seem to have been in a constant state of evolution either
towards a submissive role or a strong role but nonetheless, changing. This paper will discuss women
from the lower and middle ranks in history and their status in the various civilizations.
This paper argues that the status of lower and middle class women deteriorated over time and only the
Paleolithic period seemed to comprise of a gender neutral society.
THE STATUS OF WOMEN OVER TIME
In the Paleolithic society, women seemed to have an equal contributing hand towards the survival of
the community. Men traveled and hunted while women gathered fruits from areas within the vicinity
of their residence. Although hunted meat brought home by the men was important, the vegetables and
fruits gathered by the women were equally as important for survival especially when men failed at
their hunt. The interdependence of the sexes ensured that one sex is not dominant over another.
(Bentley and Ziegler, pg.10).
The Venus Figurines (named after the Roman goddess of love) of early homo sapiens were small
structures of women that depicted prominent sexual features focusing greatly on fertility and new life.
These figurines are believed to also play a role in rituals to increase fertility. (Bentley and Ziegler,
pg.14) This shows that women were always subjected to their physical appearance and the fact that
they were seen as baby carriers.
From the Neolithic era, women are

Essay about Predicting Voting Behavior
Predicting Voting Behavior
Voting behaviour is increasingly hard to predict because of the variables that ultimately affect it, these
being class, gender, age, ethnicity and regional locality. It is the job of a political scientist to weigh up
these factors along with public opinion on major and current issues such as the Health Service, Crime
etc. In addition to these they will look at past elections and their statistics to determine the possible
result of an imminent election.
Research in the 1950 s and 60 s in Britain and the USA indicates that all the factors that might
contribute to a persons voting behaviour such as religion, gender, age and regional locality; social
class was by far ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However this was put under massive dispute throughout the sixties and early seventies until nineteen
seventy nine where the conservatives were found to have major success in the general elections
because of high amounts of working class votes and the theory was suggested correct. Whatever the
reasons the Conservatives won the working class vote the theory did not account for the drop in
middle class voters.
Ultimately unless the parties fall into a trend whereby one is totally right wing and the other left wing
it will be very hard to predict or stereotype people to a political party just because of their class or
position in society.
Gender is out of the five categories, the most hard to base any conclusions from since the nineteen
ninety seven elections. This is because from the statistics there is very little gender differences in party
choice. Previously gender was attributed for one of the reasons for party choice; the majority of
women voting in the UK in the four elections between nineteen seventy nine and nineteen ninety two
voted Conservative than they did for any other party. This is slightly ironic because the Conservative
party was in fact the worst represented in terms of female MP s out of the major forerunners being
Labour and The Liberal Democrats. The complete disappearance of the

Clean Development Mechanism ( Cdm )
The UK has/have set particular targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is presented in four
different time periods, in addition, only the first carbon budget has been completed. The UK is
currently in the progress of the second budget, which is 2013 to 2017. Meeting carbon budget is not
the same as reducing emissions as the budget refers only to some sources of emissions. The price of
carbon has recently been very low and, as a result, the governments have introduced carbon tax in the
Finance Act of 2011.The Carbon Floor Price (CFP) is a top up tax, it exists to boost the existing EU
price of carbon (Webster, 2013). Only electricity producers can top up tax if the market price falls
below a certain level as electricity producers use carbon fuels. (Rudd, Greenhouse gas emissions,
2013)
Clean development mechanism (CDM) is the second market based Kyoto mechanism, under the
Kyoto Protocol. According to (Clean Development Mechanism , 2014) CDM allows a country with an
emission reduction or emission limitation commitment under the Kyoto Protocol . In addition, CDM
encourages developing countries to reduce greenhouse gases and meet sustainable development
objectives, which may be to improve air and water quality. Offsetting help deals with environmental
problems. Middlemen companies are called offset firms, which predicts a company s emissions.
Subsequently then helps by offering companies with opportunities to invest in emission reduction
projects. CDM identifies

Vincent Van Gogh Biography
Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853 and died on July 29, 1890. Van Gogh was born in
Groot Zundert, Netherlands and died in Auvers sur Oise, France. Van Gogh went to school at Brussels
Academy in Bruxelles, Belgium. Vincent was the oldest child of Anna Cornelia Carbentus and
Theodorus van Gogh, a pastor of the Dutch Reformed Community. Vincent attended the local village
school in 1861 to 1864 for religious education and soon transferred to a boarding school from 1864 to
1866 where he studied and learned English, French and German. He transferred to another school in
Tilburg but then transferred again in the middle of his second year there because of the financial
struggles of his family. After so much transferring, finally at the age of 16, van Gogh was sent to The
Hague to work as a junior clerk for about three years. In 1886, van Gogh relocated to Paris and
became influence by Impressionism and Post impressionism and received exposure to artists such as

As a student, I learned a significant amount of information on the Spring Break Trip through Georgia
Agriculture. The four course objectives were accomplished. The students on the trip, including myself,
gained knowledge about many aspects of Georgia agriculture, gained an appreciate for the complexity
of Georgia agriculture and its vast network of farms and businesses, gained an understanding of
employment opportunities related to Georgia agriculture, and gained an appreciation of the
contribution of Georgia agriculture to the state s economy and wellbeing. Each day during the trip, I

Difference Between Speaking And Wring
The difference between speaking and wring in English is the way it is perceived. It is varied from
context and is reliant on context. When language is spoken, it is a form of behaviour made up of
different dialects and morality. The context of which English is spoken or written has a dramatic
influence, language is changed by different situations that a person is exposed to, Formal and
informal, social events, professional events or cultural influences. Each context is made up of different
surroundings and people in which are part of the communication. Different language can be used
within the same context and be different from person to person. For example in a classroom the
language used between and a teacher and student would be different to that of a peer to peer
interaction. When speaking, people are usually face to face, therefore they can rely on such extra
linguistic clues as facial expression and gesture to aid meaning. Written English is more reliant on the
development of careful organisation and compact expression, with often intricate sentence structure
(Crystal, 2005).
Speaking English
Within Gee Hayes (2011) the authors suggest that language can be understood as a cognitive process,
something that is in our head, our brain and minds that tell us how to speak. Another view is that it is a
physical aspect that is present in the form of speech, recordings and writings. It can also be viewed as
a means of social convention shared by a group of people, about

Bruce Springsteen s 8-Track
Have you ever considered a time capsule? What do the items in this big barrel really stand for? Say
you were to find a time capsule from the 1980s. You find inside an 8 Track tape of Bruce Springsteen
s The River released in 1980. What do you think of this? Do you overlook the meaning and see it as a
representation of the type of music played in the 80s, Pop/Rock? Or maybe you see a significance that
reaches far beyond just a type of music. Maybe you notice that this 8 Track represents not only music,
but also innovation at the time. You look at it and realize that back then, people had to listen to these
tapes through an audio cassette player. They also had to personally go out and buy the tape from a
music store because there were no iPods with internet access to millions of albums. You think about
The E Street Band in the studio playing their instruments to record the background music into
microphones. You think about how much work had to go into making this small, low quality 8 Track.
You realize how much manual labor actually meant at the time. Also how far technology has come.
This shows how an object can have many different ways of representing a culture or time period.
In today s culture, there are many things that could represent our world today. Although there are
many cliché items you might expect a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Censorship Of The Hip Hop Culture
The Oppressive Language Leading to the Degradation of Woman via The Hip Hop Culture Today
There s a powerful source brainwashing young minority women today, specifically the language
expressed in Rap lyrics which is often embraced by the Hip Hop Culture recently. These young gems
are being conditioned to value their worth centered around hollow, vain, and degrading measures. The
lead directors of these measures are strong, empowered, talented men who come across as if they
detest woman. They disclose and describe detail stories of lifestyles involving model chicks who
degrade themselves for acceptance, money, and opportunity. Consequently, this behavior leaves
impressions for young ladies to follow after; because most young ladies of minority tap into the hip
hop culture as a guide for social behavior. Although, the Hip Hop culture allows a window into the
challenges faced by the black community it has also been the lead contributor to the desensitization of
exploitation towards women due to the negative messages and images portrayed in music lyrics and
music videos today. Symbols of Sexuality Gone Wrong Adams and Fuller(2006) define misogyny as
the hatred or disdain of women. It is an ideology that reduces women to objects for men s ownership,
use, or abuse. This ideology is widespread and common throughout society (p. 939). The devaluation
of young minority women through the hip hop culture is an epidemic. The word choices conveyed in

  • 2. Reflection Paper On Figure Skating The second my feet lifted off the soap caked floor, I felt different. The skin on my neck was tingling, adrenaline was racing through my body, and my bones were engaged in a newfound excitement. My mother was wrong. The bathroom floor is a fun place to go figure skating on soap suds. My sister, Emily, and I began our skating journey at Kent State University, where we had been enrolled in Learn To Skate classes for as long as we could remember. Spinning circles faster than a horse around the kitchen table in our socks was a common occurrence. We were perpetually moving. Thus, it should not have been a surprising event when one lazy Saturday morning, Emily and I were sitting around playing dolls as we waited for our parents to wake up. For a six and nine year with the energy of a small volcano, it was as boring as sitting and watching paint dry. It is my Achilles heel to cause trouble when my mind is not stimulated, so I ventured off down the hall into the bathroom to see if there would be anything interesting to do there. My sister grabbed my hand and pulled me into a somewhat tangled, clumsy dance that was supposed to represent the figure skating we did at Kent. We couldn t have looked much better than the Cleveland Browns playing football, but for us, we felt as if we would be going to the Olympics in figure skating within the next few weeks. However, spinning around in our socks eventually grew tiring, as well, so we looked for a way to make the bathroom floor truly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Feed, A Futuristic Novel Feed, a futuristic novel by M.T. Anderson, left me feeling disturbed about the faults in perfection. In a society completely ruled by technology, most of the country has a chip implanted in their brain since birth that acts as a phone, computer, television, and more, which known as the feed. The feed allows people to chat using just their connected brains, watch television programs, play games, order goods, and research any topic. From the start, I recognized that this was a scary concept, because it meant that website owners and product producers had access to one s thoughts, preferences, and personality. What made this book so eerie was that I could experience what it would be like to have a constant voice in my head, directing me to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of the feed, with everyone having access to whatever they please already in their brain, everyone is smart, and no one has to work for it. There is mass danger in this concept. If everyone is smart, no one is smart, because no one knows more than anyone else, and no one stands out. It s like if you were to highlight everything in an article. If you did that, nothing would be important anymore. This is what the feed does. It is run by companies who search everyone s brains, and create products that will appeal to everyone. In order to do that, the companies need to make a very simple product everyone can enjoy, slowly deteriorating difference, and slowly making everyone simpler people. In light of what the novel stresses: that making things too easy for humans will ruin the meaning for their existence, the author creates a character essential to get this point across. Violet, Titus girlfriend, was different from Titus and his friends. She grew up with less money than them, and with parents against the feed from the start. However, she eventually got the feed, only to run into problems when a hacker damages it permanently. Violet, unlike Titus, understands that companies running the feed were slowly abusing their power to create products they know will have mass appeal. Violet resists this, trying to create a personality profile that cannot fit in with the norms of the feed. Later, when Violet s feed, which has latched on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She in turn, replies to the letters, wears the clothes fans craft for her and decorates her rooms with their arts and gifts. In the recording studio she is revered as one of the few artists of her generation to be so involved with the whole recording process. Knowing what the artist is doing and what the final recording is to sound like is often a multi person job. Communication happens both physically and verbally and is absolutely essential if you want to inform someone about something. • 9. What Is Delormier Giddens Theory Of Structuration Introduction: Delormier, Frohlich, Potvin, (2009) used Giddens theory of structuration, specifically the concepts of social practice, the duality of the social structure, and agency to develop a conceptual framework in their research on food as a social practice. According to Giddens (1984) social practices are at the root of the constitution of both agent and society (ibid.: 1984:xxii); and social structures constitute rules and resources which actors draw upon during practice, creating both enabling and constraining conditions of practice (ibid.: 1984: xxii, 25). It is from this perspective that Delormier, Frohlich and Potvin (2009) highlight that individual action is not determined by the social structure, but rather enacted and concretised by people through the choices they make during social practice, and that through their ... • 10. Lunar Surface Processes And Its Impact On The Earth Essay Lunar Surface Processes Complex alterations of the lunar surface occur, despite the fact that lunar processes are much less varied and dynamic than those of the Earth. The most important source of lunar surface alteration, at least over the last three billion years, is evidenced by the Moon s heavily pocked and cratered surface. The Moon is continuously bombarded by external objects ranging in size from small specks of dust to giant bodies tens of kilometers in diameter. These impacts are governed primarily by gravity as the solar system continues to evolve. Celestial bodies within the solar system are continually being rearranged by close encounters with one another, altering orbits, and over the course of geologic time, causing collisions with other bodies. These collisions result in two possible outcomes: fragmentation or cratering. If the colliding objects are of a similar size, collisional fragmentation and annihilation occur, producing a large number of smaller fragments from both involved bodies. If the objects are of differing sizes, collision results in an impact crater on the target body. Since objects that encounter the Moon are dramatically smaller than the Moon itself, cratering occurs. Typical impact velocities of asteroidal objects on the Moon are between 15 and 25 km/sec. With these high velocities, in combination with the high frequency of impact, the cumulative kinetic energy on lunar surface exceeds the lunar internal energy released by ... • 11. Essay about Advertising In Baseball Stadiums Introduction Baseball is considered to be America s favorite pastime and has become popular all over the world. This sport is watched by millions of people every time there is a game played. People will go to the stadiums to watch and a lot of fans will watch the game on television. Since there are so many people watching these games, advertising has become more and more apart of every baseball stadium due to the amount of exposure a company can receive by using the many types of ads found in a baseball stadium. The stadiums use billboards, fences, green screens, merchandise, airplanes, names of stadiums, and scoreboards as all different ways to advertise a company s product. It is the background of the outfielders and whenever a ball is hit out there or someone wants to look at the scoreboard, people have to look at the outfield and have really no choice to look at the advertisements on the fences. GAP Inc. really benefited from company s putting there ads on the fence, because left centerfield and right centerfield are called the gap in baseball leaving a lot of stadiums to use GAP as their advertisement in that area on the fence. Fences are really useful due to how visible they are throughout an entire game. Green Screens Technology is making advertising much easier in baseball stadiums and the use of green screens is really starting to take off. Greens screens are only visible to fans watching the game on television, but are very useful due to how easy it is to switch an advertisement during an inning of the game. The green screens are usually located behind the umpire on the backstop to left of batter s box for left handed batters. This is not a distraction to pitchers or infielders, because they use a green screen which is similar to the centerfield sitting area. This area never sits any fans and is either black or green in a stadium so that the batter is not distracted when a pitcher is throwing a pitch. Marketers like the ads because they dominate the background behind the pitcher hitter confrontation, which is the central image in a baseball telecast. Plus, if an advertisement takes place during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Mcmahan s Epistemic Limitations I now turn my attention towards McMahan s general proposition concerning epistemic limitations in regards to another aspect that is beyond an individual s control. He suggests that a soldier is epistemically unjustified for accepting beliefs based on little evidence because it conforms to a distorted ideology that they have of the world. He states that a unjust soldier that is acting ...based on factual beliefs for which there is little or no evidence but that he accepts it uncritically because the factual beliefs cohere well with the way his distorted ideology says that the world ...has little or no epistemically‐based excuse for participating in his side s unjust war (McMahan 138). Once again, on the surface, McMahan appears to have a sound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will admit that this is a strong counter, as it is reasonable to claim that the soldier with distorted views should both acknowledge that his racist views would conflict with his behavior during the war. It is also reasonable to say that the soldier should attempt to resolve his conflict before going into an unjust war. That being said, human beings, by nature, are creatures of habit. Just as it takes years for us to develop our traits, we also develop behaviors and practices that stay with us for a prolonged period of time, perhaps for the rest of our lives. Most of our views and practices are established at an early age, so if you ve been practicing something for so long, it eventually becomes a part of your belief system. It will be extremely difficult to abandon an idea that you have in your belief system. As such we can see that these distorted ideologies, albeit not healthy or helpful in our relationships with others over time, is extremely hard to permanently get rid ... • 13. Essay On Male Circumcision The choice of circumcision is purely a personal choice and an elective procedure that each family can make their own decision on. However, there are many medical benefits that have medical evidence to support. Male circumcision is the removal of some or all of the foreskin covering the head of the penis (Circumcision Academy of America, 2016). This procedure is one of the most common medical procedures performed on male infants in the United States, typically occurring after 24 hours of life, and almost always done within 10 days. There is current evidence that the health benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks, and therefore justify access to this procedure for families who choose it (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2012). It has been found that the incidence of penile cancer is about 1 in 100,000, but in uncircumcised men is 1 in a 600 chance (Hall, 2008). Penile cancer is almost exclusively found in uncircumcised men. Uncircumcised men have a higher etiological risk including of human papillomavirus (HPV), phimosis, and balanitis due to their location of the glans penis and coronal sulcus which is covered by the foreskin (Morris, et al., 2011). There is evidence that circumcised men may clear HPV more quickly and phimosis which is a congenital narrowing of the foreskin opening, restriction impeding the passage of urine and the ability to clean under the foreskin (Circumcision Academy of America, 2016). • 14. Synthetic Biological Engineering Essay Starting at the earliest of high school levels, students are being taught about biological synthetic engineering, or being able to create life out of chemicals of varying types. The idea of being able to create life from just about nothing is something that is becoming popular. While it has its advantages for scientific purposes as far as medicine is concerned, the fact that the FBI has to be involved to make sure that the sequences are not being distributed for unlawful purposes, such as bioterrorism overseas or throughout the United States is a troublesome factor. The positive aspects of this synthetic engineering are growing every day. The United States is just getting its first glimpse of everything these scientists are working to develop (pbs.org). While there are a great amount of advantages to the developments of biological synthetic engineering, the disadvantages are a pressing matter as well. As biological engineering develops, the sequences with which the scientists work are becoming more complex(pbs.org). The sequences are still simple enough, however, to be followed by just about anyone who knows things about science. Therefore if they are given to people who are not meant to obtain them they can be used to create very dangerous objects. The federal government has spoken about the possibility of bioterrorist attacks and the spreading of diseases that have been contained but do not actively have cures, such as the bird flu and smallpox. Because of the many possible uses of the advancement of biological engineering, it continues to be approached with much caution, for the safety of the American people(pbs.org). • 15. Fort Sumter Essay Introduction: On the twelfth of April 1861, Union troops had just taken refuge in Fort Sumter under the cover of darkness. They were out number out gunned and running out of time. The newly formed Confederate States of America (CSA) had now occupied the five other military installations within the Garrison. At 0430, the first shot of the American Civil War rang out and Fort Sumter was fast under the barrage that the surrounding garrison forts occupied by the confederate forces (sumter). Major Anderson was reluctant to return fire, as his previous orders were not to be the aggressor. The first shots returned in volley to the confederate forces was by a private under the Major Anderson, who raced up to the third story of Fort Sumter where the largest artillery guns were loaded and ready to fire. In following his lead, other soldiers in the fort also began firing on the confederate antagonists (Civil War Journal: Destiny of Fort Sumter, 1993). The article traces the evolution of the Straight Edge movement from the 1980 s 2000 s. This author argues that the Straight Edge movement evolved to become a lifestyle and an ideology. In short, the author argues that as the Straight Edge movement evolved, the original ideology associated with the movement shifted in the opposite direction due in part to the changing demographic of the Straight Edge movement. The author s primary sources include interviews and testimonials from individuals that were part of the movement, usually taken from magazines or books about the Straight Edge movement. In order to establish what the Straight Edge movement was all about, this author also looks at the actual Hardline Manifesto from which the Straight Edge movement branched off of, but she also uses CD s from bands like Minor Threat to track the musical changes that were taking place in the movement as well. Having originally acquired its name from personal injury lawyers, this immoral method is applied when a law firm contacts a recent accident victim and pries them into taking their cases to court. As I came closer to approaching the East side, I noticed that the surroundings around me started changing quite drastically. A great percentage of signs posted on billboards and businesses were written in Spanish. No English on the signs was visible anywhere either. I also noticed that great amount of businesses that were being run by Hispanic men. Considerably much greater than any businesses located in my neighborhood. While there is always risk that a baby could have any number of health conditions, one rarely occurring condition is situs inversus. Situs refers to the position of an organ, with situs solitus being the ordinary arrangement of organs (Dictionary). Situs inversus is when the organs in the chest and abdomen are mirrored, or opposite, of where their ordinary location should be. This is a unique genetic condition that affects 1 in 10,000 babies born each year ( 15 Incredible Situs Inversus Statistics ). The two main subtypes of situs inversus are dextrocardia and levocardia, with the third subtype being situs ambiguous. The differences between the two main subtypes are based on the position of the heart. If the heart is still on the left side yet the rest of the organs are flipped, it is considered situs inversus with levocardia. However, if the heart is on the right side instead of the left, along with the rest of the organs being flipped, it is considered situs inversus with dextrocardia, also known as situs inversus totalis, or a true mirror image . This paper argues that the status of lower and middle class women deteriorated over time and only the Paleolithic period seemed to comprise of a gender neutral society. THE STATUS OF WOMEN OVER TIME In the Paleolithic society, women seemed to have an equal contributing hand towards the survival of the community. Men traveled and hunted while women gathered fruits from areas within the vicinity of their residence. Although hunted meat brought home by the men was important, the vegetables and fruits gathered by the women were equally as important for survival especially when men failed at their hunt. The interdependence of the sexes ensured that one sex is not dominant over another. (Bentley and Ziegler, pg.10). The Venus Figurines (named after the Roman goddess of love) of early homo sapiens were small structures of women that depicted prominent sexual features focusing greatly on fertility and new life.
