Difference Between Slavs And Italian Immigrants
Slavs and Italians, being the most predominant immigrants during the late 1800 s, faced a series of
appalling living conditions. For instance, Slavs who formed families and lived in the company built
homes were most of the time in need and cultivated flora in order to survive on the very low wages
paid by companies. Woman as a part of the family had to also contribute economically, this included
taking jobs at textile mills and taking care of the gardens at home. Protein supply for these immigrants
was small. Immigrants worked 10 12 hours a day, they relied on a diet with high levels of
carbohydrates and starch, which provide them with temporal energy and fulfillment. Italians, as said in
text had it worse , instead of living in company owned

The Impact Of Arena On The Beginnings Of The Civil War
First, thank you very much for following the advice set out in my last memo. Through a coordinated
media campaign focussed on clarifying the role of ARENA in the beginnings of the civil war, we ve
been able to secure a small but consistent advantage over our FMLN opponents. However, according
to the research that my team and I have conducted, this advantage is very fragile. While El Salvadoran
voters have communicated to us that they do not blame ARENA for the start of the conflict, there is
more confusion about the role of the party during the height of the war in the 1980s. Therefore, this
memo will be divided into three parts: first, a surface level history of the conflict through the 1980s;
second, potential academic explanations for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Magaña s Presidency took an active and purposeful role in opposing the FMLN guerrillas through
attacks on the group s primarily peasant base and support network. From 1981 to 1983, it is estimated
that at least 18,000 civilians were killed by government forces. Many of these deaths were the result of
air force bombings of peasants trying to flee across the Honduras border or massacres committed by
government infantry groups against FMLN friendly villages such as El Mozote in December 1981.
Paramilitary death squads were also incredibly active during this time period, at one point killing six
members of the opposition Christian Democratic Party (PDC), resulting in a condemnation of the
Magaña government by PDC leader José Napoleón Duarte. The second phase of the conflict,
following the election of Duarte and the PDC in the 1984 5 elections, resulted in a reduction in
government violence against civilians and attempts, although ultimately unsuccessful, to reach a peace
between the FMLN and government. The US backed Duarte, who defeated ARENA leader Roberto d
Aubuisson amid allegations of electoral fraud, became the first civilian President in forty years.
Political murders declined significantly during his administration, although there were still civilian
deaths in combat zones and mass displacement concerns amounting to around 1500 deaths per year.

Comparing Saint Joan And King Henry V
Both being a symbol of honor and unity, Saint Joan and King Henry V were very different people.
Living at different times, leaving legacies in opposing countries, and leading their armies into
gruesome battles, they are to be remembered as great. Against all odds Joan changes her fate through
the will of God and convinces her people to let her become their leader despite being a young peasant
girl. Although Henry did die just before Joan became known to the world, his impactful speeches to
his desperate soldiers are comparable to those of Saint Joan with their intellectual language of
persuasion. And yet their words are contrastable in the way they choose to relate to the ones they led.
King Henry was born to lead, as the next in line for the throne he was raised expecting the tasks that
he had to face in adulthood. He knew as he drove his men to the Battle of Agincourt that they, as the
lower class, would have no motivation to die for him. In his speech during Act III scene I he says,
...dear friends, attack it once more...on, on, you noblest English, whose blood is fet from fathers of war
proof, fathers that, like so many Alexanders... (88, line 17). This quote shows his attempt at making
his men feel honorable and noble. He is telling his people that they are great, and need to fight as their

Empowering and inducing, their speeches work for their benefits. Joan, despite being a woman, used
the imagery of greatness convince the Dauphin to give her a chance. Henry did the same with his men,
but he did almost the opposite in a way. He had to convince the lower class of England that they
would become great through this battle, whereas Joan had to persuade a person of high class that they
should desire to be of the highest class. The two of them left different legacies in the world, but they
both used the art of language and persuasion to achieve what defied all

Analysis Of Forrest Gump
The film Forrest Gump uses a lot of information and historical events and expresses them using
aesthetic techniques such as sound, cinematography, editing, etc. The director Robert Zemeckis uses
form to explain the overall meaning of the film specifically with symbolism from popular phrases and
gives visual examples throughout the story.
The beginning of the film starts with Forrest sitting on a bench at a bus stop. A lady walks over and
sits down next to him and begins to read her book as he introduces himself to her. He then offers her
some chocolate that she quietly declines. Forrest then says, My mama always said that life was like a
box of chocolates. You never know what you re gonna get . This phrase shows meaning to the entire
film because Forrest is always led to a new thing or event in life that had no relation to the last.
Zemeckis place this scene strategically at the beginning and it helped set up the rest of the story.
Forrest is seen a few different times during other parts of the film with boxes of chocolate. This first
scene is also the beginning of where Forrest starts to tell his life story. The director uses a diegetic
narraration by Forrest to lead the story. He continues to talk even if the person sitting next to him on
the bench has changed.
The box of chocolates line resembles how Forrest sees life differently. He grew up being told by his
mother on what he should and shouldn t do to help him get through life. He had the mind set of doing
any opportunity that came to him. He did all kinds of incredible things such as playing on a college
football team, joining the military, starting a shrimp business, etc. Editing can be shown during the
historical events that Forrest participates in such as when African Americans were accepted to his
school. The effect was in black and white to show an older scenario.
The best use of cinematography was at the very beginning with the feather before the box of
chocolates line. The camera follows the feather as it floats down towards the ground. The camera
angle is positioned with a close up on the feather and with a blurry Forrest on the bench in the
background. The feather then lands on his shoe where he picks it up to place inside his Curious

Persepolis Themes
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi is a graphic memoir that reveals the life of a woman growing up in pre
and post Iran, as well as her experiences in Western countries. In this book, Marjane utilizes historical
events that affect her life during her upbringing in Iran. These include the oppression of the Shah, as
well as the rise and effects of the regime. These events integration into the story showcase how they
affect Marjane and the other citizens of her country. Additionally, these events are important for the
context and understanding that they grant readers unfamiliar with the text.
The revolution and fall of the Shah is one of the first events we see in the story. Satrapi shows us the
burning of the Rex Cinema, an example of the Shah s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another historical event that we see is the rise and effects of the Islamic regime in Marjane s life. This
event is arguably the central issue that affects Marjane during her upbringing in Iran. Marjane shows
how the regime begins to control schools, and how this affects her life by separating her from her
friends (4, 3 4). We also see how the regime decides to close universities as they educate future
imperialists. (73, 1 3) This demonstrates the negative effects that the regime has on society, as they
prioritize Islamic values over education. The Islamic leaders portrayal shows them as upset and bored,
and are given much different facial expressions than those that Marjane sees as intellectual (such as
Uncle Anoosh (54/3) or Marjane s grandfather (23/8)). This imagery communicates the backwards
thinking of these leaders, and as such, also effectively communicate Marjane s opinion of the leaders
without needing to discuss it with text. Additionally, we see both of Marjane s views: Marjane not
understanding the veiling and separation (3/5) as well as Marjane s depression over the closing of the
universities (73/7). The text here illustrates her opinions on the situations that she experiences, and the
imagery allows us to see a visual representation of her basic thoughts and emotions, which are well
communicated. A final example of the regime s changes is the difference between the fundamentalist
and modern women

Given that the research problem in this report is ambiguous, the basic research method adopted is
exploratory research. The role of exploratory research is to clarify and define a problem at the initial
stage of the research. Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar and Babin (2011), suggest that exploratory
research is not intended to provide conclusive evidence and is conducted with the expectation that
subsequent research will be required to provide such conclusive evidence. Thus, exploratory research
is the foundation of the research process which will lead to descriptive research, and maybe causal
research.
There are many exploratory methods that can be used to conduct research. These include field studies,
action research, depth interviews, focus groups and desk research. This exploratory research utilised
one qualitative method to collect data, which will help gain an insight of the research problem before
further research is performed. The method chosen was in depth interviews which are relatively
unstructured and extensive interviews in which the interviewer asks many questions and probes for in
depth answers (Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, amp; Babin; 2011). Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar,
and Babin, (2011) also suggest that there is no one perfect method which can meet all research
objectives.

Reflection Notes On The Book Of Amos
Reflection #3
After reading chapters 5 and 6 from the text, please read the following passages and thoughtfully
reflect on the questions. Upload your paper before the beginning of class on Monday, October 2.
1. Read Second Samuel 9 20 and First Kings 1 2. After having read this story, which most modern
interpreters consider a single literary unit, reflect on and discuss the main characters: David,
Bathsheba, Nathan, Joab, and Absalom. What adjectives come to mind in describing them? Are there
any sympathetic characters? What, if any, timeless qualities do you find in the story?
Sympathetic: joab, 2. Read the Book of Amos. A. In the Book of Amos, as in a number of the
prophetic works in the Hebrew Bible, God seems to show special regard for the poor and ire against
those who oppress them. Comment on passages in Amos that relate this. B. Imagine a contemporary
Amos appearing suddenly in the US. What would he say about the behaviors and patterns of today?
How might people (e.g. leaders, media) respond to his message?

David is King of Israel and appears to be chosen by God to rule. David has many good qualities of a
strong leader like wisdom and generosity. But he does not always show great qualities. He is not a
completely selfless man, and sins greatly when it came to Bathsheba. David various sinful actions

Analysis Of I Shot The Sheriff Essay
Stories within Music Flash fiction can take on many different forms and structures. The type of
material used and the way it is used can vary exceedingly or in the slightest way. Using media, such as
music, can help make the story relevant towards the reader, and also help guide the author in his or her
particular direction. As mentioned earlier, the way outside resources gets used can vary as seen in both
Touré I Shot the Sheriff and Chris L. Terry At Home with Rapper s Delight . Although both Touré I
Shot the Sheriff and Chris L. Terry At Home with Rapper s Delight use a popular song as a platform to
create a captivating short fictional story, they choose different elements of those songs to build it. In I
Shot the Sheriff the story uses the lyrics of a song, and in At Home with Rapper s Delight the story
uses the history surrounding the song. The first story, I Shot the Sheriff by Touré, tells a narrative
about a man named Bob and the conflict faced between him and Sheriff John Brown. As the conflict
continues to increase, Bob ends up killing Sheriff John Brown as self defense with the gun given to
him by his friend Gabriel. Although Bob claims it was self defense, he was later killed for it. . It may
or may not seem obvious for some people to conclude that Touré in fact written this narrative story

Tavares, Bailey, Neal, E. Kane, etc. are due for new contracts in the 2018 free agency. Specifically to
the Isles, Tavares, Bailey, Halak, Chimera, de Haan, Gionta, Kulemin, Hickey, Seidenberg, and

He also has the record for most wins by a single goaltender in one season in Islanders history. Sadly,
his stats have quickly gone down ever since 2015. Halak is 32, an old age for NHL standards. The
Islanders can afford to resign Jaro, but it must come at the right price. Like Seidenberg and Kulemin,
the best years are behind him. The organization will be able to see whether or not Halak should remain
an Islander throughout the remainder of the season. It is probable that Halak will ask for 2.5 million
dollars per year, due to the fact that no team attempted to sign him last season when he was waived by
the Islanders. It is likely Halak will not be on the team next year because the Isles are searching for a
long term answer, plus Thomas Greiss is signed for the upcoming season. Jason Chimera: 2 goals, 6
assists, 37 games Jason Chimera was an Islander for two seasons. He gave the team a veteran presence
and was a fill in for the loss of Matt Martin on the fourth line. Chimera played a similar role to that of
Seidenberg, except with the forwards. For most of his career, Chimera was a Washington Capital and
an Islander killer. He switched sides and had a sufficient season last year, accumulating 20 goals. This
year, father time has caught up to the 38 year old. Rumors of retirement have started to surface
because of Chimera s decline in play. There is a strong likelihood that Chimera is no longer an

Vikings Religious Practices
Vikings lived for a long period from 750 until 1250, they had all the features that other cultures had
economics, politics, religion and etc. (Mägi 2015). The essay concentrates on the pagan religion the
Vikings practiced and their rituals. The aim of this essay is to show that the religious practices played
a big part in Vikings lives the gods were really important, they had religious practices to grant better

were very important to Vikings, who strongly believed that deities existed. The gods were worshipped
as a community but usually, only a few of the gods played a big part in individual s life, while the
reasons for worshipping the gods could be either fear or admiration. The Vikings had few different
kinds of religious practices sacrificial feasts, family rituals and rites of passage rituals (Brink Price

events, during which most commonly animal sacrifices were made to gods to grant good harvest,

DNA Barcoding using COI for Species Identification for Conservation
Introduction and Literature Review
The DNA Barcoding is becoming more popular in the present times due to its accuracy in the
identification of different species. It has been approved to be more accurate than other taxonomic
methods. The DNA Barcoding employs in the use of Polymerase Chain Reaction to magnify the COI
gene. The amplified COI genes of the organisms are sequenced and compared with a known database
of the organisms. The DNA Barcoding aids in understanding many characteristics of the species.
These characteristics of the species include; trophic interactions, species boundaries, conservation of
the biodiversity and functional feature of evolution (Kress et al. 1). Biologists use DNA Barcodes to
single out an unknown species by matching a particular genetic marker to a reference genetic
database. DNA Barcode can be one or short sequences of the genes taken from the standardized
genome (Nagy et al. 2). This paper discusses the use of DNA Barcoding to determine the prohibited
parrot trade.
The prohibited wildlife trade can affect the existence of a species in a habitat by introducing other
species that interfere with the living of the species in that habitat. In most cases, the illegal wildlife
trade leads to extinction of particular species in the ecosystem. The molecular markers are
fundamental in forensic sample analyses because of their success in analyzing samples that cannot be

3.1. Benchmarks
There are several benchmarking concepts in the IT sector for decades. For computing power
performance benchmarking, the Whetstone Benchmarking algorithm have been used. It is adopted by
sector leaders for several decades. Whetstone algorithm was originally based on floating operations,
like many of the other benchmarking algorithms, such as Linpack, LM suite, HPCC. However, in

In the second type, each query s scope was one hundred (100) records, and the connection, statement
and result set are again released and created for each of these queries. The single record queries
represent database operations like transactions targeting single records in tables. The queries targeting
one hundred (100) records represent bulk operations like the jobs running at the end of day operations.
For main memory performance benchmarking, Stream benchmark algorithm is used. This algorithm
measures the sustainable real world bandwidth as real users faced, not the theoretical peak values. It is
a widely known and applied algorithm in memory bandwidth performance tests [27]. The Stream
algorithm is also a synthetic benchmark which creates synthetic workloads, not the real world
workloads. The benchmark measures the bandwidth performance by four long vector / matrix
operations, like copy , scale , add , and triad (combination of other three). The algorithm assigns one
of the arrays to another in order to measure the copy operation time and bandwidth. For scale
operation, it multiplies the elements of an array by a scalar value. In add operation, it adds the
elements of an array to the elements of another array and assigns the results to a third array. Triad does
the calculations of the three operations all together (copy, scale, and add). In our evaluations, we have
used the average of the results for these four

Conception Of Negative Liberty In Robert Wright s Black Boy
The one conception of liberty that offers the most morally defensible analysis of a person in both of
these circumstances is Negative Liberty, as it removes the restrictions on one s ability to make
something of themselves and survive. The one conception of liberty that offers the least morally
defensible analysis is Positive Liberty, as it above and beyond what is necessary for a person to
survive and thrive. Positive Liberty asks that we provide everything that one needs to thrive, while
Negative Liberty maintains that we remove the restrictions on being able to attain those resources that

A Girl and Her Downfall After a Man Attacks Her
She was alone, making her way home on a beautiful summer s night. The colour filled skies and the
warm breeze persuaded her to take the long way home. Walking through the empty, lifeless streets.
With every small step she took she smiled. Everything was falling in to place. Her life was back on
track, she found him. The man of her dreams. The person to make her feel alive, to show her she hadn

know that he was there. Waiting, watching, following her every move. Hiding in the shadows, waiting
for his chance to strike. He followed her step by step, his breathing increasing as he got closer. She
was completely oblivious, so happy that she was left vulnerable. He inched closer and closer, his heart
pounding louder with every waft of her scent. His adrenaline growing at the thought of the
unthinkable act he was going to commit. He gripped her from behind with one arm tightly wrapped
around her petite waist, placing his large free hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming. Her

shadows. Stabbing her with a large needle to stop her from fleeing, he then violently threw her to the
hard cold ground. He moved over her and she clamped her eyes shut. Unable to look at her attacker as
he rendered her helpless. She could feel his breath staggering on her neck. His uneven breathing

Grendel and Cain and how they relate in Beowulf
Grendel and Cain
In the story of Beowulf you get a glimpse of many different themes throughout this epic. Those
themes range from good and evil to those of death and glory. The story itself depicts a period in
history when life was lead blind through the teachings of the book of the lord and his spoken words.
At this same period in history traditional pagan religious practices and beliefs have slowly given way
to the ideals and philosophy of Christianity. Many of the themes held within the pages of Beowulf
stem from the proverbs and fables recited and practiced in the Old Testament, while concurrently
adding pagan beliefs of monsters, demons, and multiple gods. The most striking of these biblical

When Cain killed Able, he ignited the eternal flame of a cursed family. From Cain s blood came the

retention rate in the industry. There is not a specialized formula for building a successful corporation,
so how has Enterprise developed such a powerful company with a strong reputation and loyal
customers? The story of Enterprise began with Jack Crawford Taylor s vision. Jack s character was
shaped by his naval experiences as an officer and pilot where he learned the importance of honesty,
hard work, dedication, collaboration, and doing things correctly, is the only way to succeed. After the
war, Jack was a successful Cadillac salesperson at Lindburg Dealership in St. Louis Missouri, which
gave him financial security and knowledge about the car industry. During a visit to Chicago, Jack
observed the ease and convenience of Cadillac s leasing options and recognized the opportunity for
growth potential in this market, since few companies offered car leases. Jack approached his boss
about starting a leasing company on the premises of Lindburg Cadillac. In 1957, Jack invested
$10,000 and Executive Leasing Company was established with seven cars and one employee. Jack s
investment paid off and today Enterprise is a global business operating in forty countries, with 8,600

The French Revolution And The Egyptian Revolution
There are many ideals of the enlightenment that influenced greatly the French Revolution (1789 1815)
as well as the Egyptian Revolution (2011 Present). Some philosophes that created and supported these
ideas were John Locke, Jean Jacques Rousseau, and Voltaire. Ideas supported by these philosophes
were the rights to life, liberty, and property, the freedoms of speech and religion and equality.
Many causes of the French Revolution are similar to Egyptian Revolution. Some causes of the French
Revolution were France s Old Regime, in which an absolute monarch ruled over France and there
were 1st, 2nd, and 3rd estates. Within this Old Regime there was extreme inequality and a major
wealth gap, the 1st and 2nd estates had to pay virtually no taxes meanwhile every peasant had to pay
along with taxes a tithe of 10 percent of his or her income. Other inequalities were the 3rd estate,
which made up 97 percent of the population, was entitled to just 1 of three votes within the estates
general; also only the 2nd estate, which made up less than 2 percent of the population, was allowed to
participate directly in government; finally the 1st estate, which made up less than one percent of
France s population, owned 10 percent of all the land in France. Other causes of the revolution was an
extraordinary famine in 1788 with the worst winter in 80 years, astounding debt, with half of all taxes
going to the debt, there was also great direct influence of philosophes and the enlightenment, as

Indecision, Hesitation and Delay in Shakespeare s Hamlet...
A tragic hero is defined as a great or virtuous character in a dramatic tragedy who is destined for
downfall, suffering, or defeat. The hero in these tragedies is often presented as a noble however,
flawed character whose demise is often impart to their own decisions, often due to their previously
mentioned flaws, error in judgment and imprudent actions. Written in the early 1600 s Shakespeare
wrote one arguably one of his greatest and highly controversial plays, the tragedy known as Hamlet,
Prince of Denmark. Shakespeare in his play introduces us the pays one of his most popular, enigmatic,
and dynamic characters the tragic hero Prince Hamlet. Hamlet is presented to us a sensitive, religious,

With Hamlet s tragic flaw being his inability to act, he is plagued throughout the play by his immense
intelligence and philosophical nature, which causes him to overanalyze each situation, rendering him
unable to carry out any action in response. This is evident in the play by the frequent delay of acting
out his father s revenge due to the uncertainty of the evidence pertaining to his uncle s crime. Hamlet s
inability to act creates a discourse between hamlet and his consciousness, generating an abundance of
stress, which causes him to become increasingly frustrated as the play progresses. This frustration
leads to him at moments in the play to behave in a rash and impulsive way or acting in an
inappropriate manner, contradicting his methodical and reserved disposition. It is the consequences of
these inappropriate actions that resurfaces at the plays end, to haunt the character, as Hamlet s inability
to act while using his renowned logic and intelligence ultimately leads to his eventual demise at the
plays conclusion, due to his inability to act both effectively and appropriately in critical situations.
What makes Hamlet so intriguing as a character in his avoidance in the actions we expect him to carry
out, as he constantly postpones his actions in order to acquire more insight and certainty about current
situations and about what he plans to do in response, and the following consequences of his decision
bringing about two of the plays major

Study area is geographically located between 32° 32´ 38 33° 21´ 09 E and 30° 51´ 38 31° 14´ 39 N, in
the northwestern of Egypt. The northern Sinai coast is located within the rainy belt of Egypt; while the
aridity increases generally to the south (El Ghazawi, 1989). Rainfall is scarce and varies from place to
place and increases in the northeastern direction, ranging from about 30 mm/year in the southwest at
Ismailia to about 300 mm/year in the northeast at Rafah. The annual rainfall in northwest Sinai varies
between 36 to 54.8 mm/year and the total quantity of rainfall generally increases northward (El
Sheikh, 2008). The area is considered one of the horizontal expansions in the Sinai Peninsula which
aims at establishing a link between Nile Delta and North Sinai by El Salam Canal. The ongoing
project aims at reclamation of 400.000 feddans (Hafez, 2005 and Mohamed, 2013). Groundwater is
the one available source of water in the study area beside support of El Salam canal, so the assessment
of agricultural potentiality in the Northern Sinai area requires water resources evaluation. The general

Summary Of A Wall Of Fire Rising
Life can be a beautiful thing, or in this case of the short story A Wall of Fire Rising, by Edwidge
Danticat, life is an unpleasant thing. One of the main characters, Guy, is struggling to enjoy his life
due to living as a low economy family in the post colonial Haitian era. Such a life can cause one to
become crazy when seeing an opportunity to escape, but continuously being unable to reach it. Being
out of reach of his escape plan and left with no other option, Guy, places little value in life and
continuously thinks about hope for a better life. His aggressive characteristic traits are not an
expression of a strange personality, but rather a reaction to feeling broken. Trapped by his economic
status, Guy is out of reach of any opportunities to better his family s life. Because of this, he learned to
accept that being a permanent worker at the sugar mill would never happen. Growing older, he knows
he wants better for his son s life, but must keep up with the normal life his family belongs to. Many
years ago, it was determined that the men of a specific decent were the only ones allowed to work at
the mill. The Haitians of Lebanese, the sugar mill owners, were the workers because they had been in
the country for generations. As the narrator explains, The jobs at the sugar mill were few and far
between. The people who had them never left, or when they did they would pass the job on to another
family member who was already waiting on line (Danticat 97 99). Since Guy was viewed as a lower
class to the community, he worried about his son s future, but his wife tried to overlook the thought of
her son living like Guy. Multiple times, Guy tried to tell his wife about his escape plan to a better life,
but she blew it off each and every time. Due to the setting being post colonial, Guy never experienced
a great life. After his multiple walks to watch the state sponsored news with his wife and son, he
continuously notices a hot air balloon. The community knew the balloon belonged to the Assad
family; however, after leaving it on the grass by the mill it seemed to become Guy s center of
attention. The narrator explains, For the last few weeks, ... Guy was lost each time he reached this
point, twelve feet away

experiences of many disappointments through sacrifice and loss. As a result of moving to America, the
family becomes disoriented. Due to the war in his country Pham s family was forced to immigrate to a
new country. Often families experience events in which they have to make sacrifices, wishing future
generations will benefit. His parents made the decision to move to America for their children to have a
better future. The family felt the loss of their cultural identity by encountering a new one. Each
member lost their identity and culture because they had to adapt to a new world.
Pham states, I am a Vietnamese American man (10). This particular quote is an example of self
identity conflict. Pham feels disoriented about his identity. In many occasions, he feels trapped with
the question Where are you from ? because he feels American but people still do not accept him under
that category. For the whole family, it was a drastic change, escaping from the Vietnam war trying to
find a better life. During the course of the years, each member of the family had a drastic personality
change. Each member adjusted to the American culture on the needs they felt were necessary. Thong
(Andrew s father) was extremely violent. He wanted his children to be very disciplined. His actions
were considered normal in Vietnam; however, in America Thong was considered an abusive parent.

The Classical And Romantic Eras Of Classical Music
Ludwig Van Beethoven served as an important link between two important periods of time, the classic
and romantic eras of music, and his compositions still stand today as a famous memorial of the past.
Many people say, Music never dies! , and that statement has proven true by Beethoven s Legacy, a
creation of many famous compositions of classical music that still stand, untouched by history today
as a sound, a true monument that represents the golden age of classical music, a trip into the ever
growing distance of the past. Ludwig Van Beethoven created many pieces of classical music and piano
sonatas, persisted to innovate ways to continue to compose music when he was unable to hear, and
illuminated the world by encouraging the transition between the classical and romantic eras of musical
history. Ludwig Van Beethoven created many pieces of classical music, entertaining many people
during and after the time of his legacy. These people spread the word of a great composer in Germany,
and thus, his legend was known throughout the world. He started to compose music at the age of nine
under a great teacher, Christian Gottlob Neefe, who was appointed as the Court s Organist (courtesy of
his current position). He taught young Beethoven to compose music, which turned out to be a huge
specialty of the young boy s, letting his imagination become reality, and after many struggles, he
became efficient with this art. As Beethoven once said, Nothing is more intolerable than to have to

Police Brutality And The Police As An Institution, And...
The study of ethics in policing has expanded considerably over the past few years as cases of police
brutality and corruption have surfaced in the media and in the courtroom. Commentators agree that
three issues have shaped the role of ethics in policing: styles of policing, the police as an institution,
and police culture. Banks, C. (2013). Criminal justice ethics: Theory and practice. Thousand Oaks:

August 19, 2016, from http://cops.usdoj.gov/Default.asp?Item=2469. The study of police ethics
according to the Department of Justice is especially important in light of the functions and duties of
the police as well as the wide powers of discretion that they enjoy. Police decisions can affect life,
liberty, and property, and as guardians of the interests of the public police must maintain high
standards of integrity. In addition, police have assumed the right to use intrusive, covert, and deceptive
methods of law enforcement has a crucial role in protecting minority groups. Lately, they have also
suffered a series of blows to their reputation for integrity through acts of corruption, incompetence,
and racism. All of these factors point to the centrality of fostering ethical standards in policing. Police
discretion concerning how to act in a given situation can often lead to ethical misconduct. Ethics and

Why Is John F Kennedy Responsible For Jfk Assassination
John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, the event created suspicion and fear across
the country. JFK was assassinated on November 22nd, 1963 and the event led to many suspicious
conspiracy theories. Many people were investigated and went to trial, but none of which had
prominent evidence against them. It is possible that Oswald was working with or for someone, but
there is no evidence to prove so.
Lee Harvey Oswald had felt an indifference towards the economic and governmental ideals of the US.
He was a US marine and was dismissed because he was not a sharp shooter. It was known that Oswald
admired Fidel Castro and atempted to obtain a visa to go to Cuba. Lee Harvey Oswald also was
suspected of being a communist because he admired Marxist theories and the USSR. Oswald was also
a friend of George S. De Mohrenschildt, a Dallas, Tx oilman. It was reported that the oilmen were
protesting against low wages, etc to the president. However, there is no evidence that De
Mohrenschildt was involved in the assassination with Oswald. ... Show more content on

A Raisin In The Sun Analytical Essay
A Raisin in the Sun is an excellent example of distinctive character s and conflict. Walter Younger and
Ruth have no values to share together to help them appreciate one another. To a significant point, no
view of possible solutions to their problems as they both find no peace in society. Walter accepts what
he believes in the world is presented to him. At first, he does not wish to change his position. Things
that he cannot change by himself frustrates his only source of any rewards that he may expect. Both
Walter Younger and Ruth idealizes the only seeds of defeat or victory within the universe. Walter and

They try to create better schemes to develop a secureness in economic prosperity. Ruth desperately
stated that they have to get out of this black hole of a house to escape loneliness and finally be able to

Chicago. I ll strap my baby on my back if I have to, but we got to move. We have to get out of here
(Page 1528). The sweet essence of human dignity is their comparison that established pride and honor
in the play. The environmental pressures are high: five people live in a tiny one bedroom apartment,
two families share a single bathroom, and the building is run down and roach infested. These
pressures increase when Walter s wife, Ruth, finds out that she is pregnant for the second time, and
begins seriously contemplating abortion. Yet even in an environment where a request for fifty cents
becomes a family conflict, there is room for ideas and dreams. He has a genuine entrepreneurial spirit
and desire to progress, but is upset that his wife does not seem to understand his values to improve his
family status. See there, that just goes to show you what women understand about the world. Baby,
don t nothing happen for you in this world less you pay somebody off! (Page 1477). Walter Younger

Explain Why The Hangman Gets A Close Up
The Hangman gets a Closeup Being a hangman was a fruitless job, living your life just to see death.
There was no point to it, the harm was only coming to the person who hangs people. Hangman s

the same old shenanigans, they are getting themselves harmed. Now enough with the people getting
hanged, let s give the hangman a closeup. A hangman hangs wayward people because hanging has no

that may have been a petty crime. This was a job back in times

Think Twice About Voting For Trump
Trump s main appeal seems to be his projection of strength in free speech. This is his only trait that
carries him despite his blatant lack of knowledge on political issues and lack of experience. Donald
Trump s supporters follow him because he speaks his mind, but any sane individual should be
vehemently opposed to Donald Trump being president. Donald Trump lies with such ease and
tramples on free press and free speech, even going as far as stating he will change the laws that we
already have in place. We cannot accept Donald Trump to become a prestige leader to run our country,
he would be the most unqualified president in American history to become our president. Every one of
our presidents has had either government or military experience before being sworn in, Mr. Trump, a
real estate mogul and former reality television star, hasn t severed a day in public office or the armed
forces.
Moreover, Mr. Trump has admitted that he doesn t prepare for debates or study briefing books; he
believes such things get in the way of a good performance. No major presidential candidate has ever
been quite as disdainful of knowledge, as indifferent to facts as he is. Mr. Trump believes he ll snap
his fingers and everyone from his political opponents will bend to his will. He is a man operating in

Chin An Economic Power House
Seemingly transformed overnight; China has become an economic power house. In truth, however,
China has been growing now for more than 30 years. Since it s initiation of economic reforms and
trade liberalization in 1979. China is one of, if not the fastest growing economy world wide, averaging
nearly 10% growth GDP (Growth Domestic Product). (Morrison, 2015) This financial revolution
began with a series of reforms. One was designed to revitalize the state sector and save socialism,
others began as more grass root initiatives that led to free market capitalism. (Wang, 2013). China
began to change their investments from producing capital goods to producing more consumer goods.
They allocated more money to agriculture, and the government raised pricing for the agricultural
products and increased grain import. After a series of painful events China began to privatize farming.
This led to the de collectivization of agriculture (Wang, 2013)
The de collectivization of farming meant that the local townships and villages had to enter into the
market and operate as if they were a real business. With no access to guaranteed raw materials from
the state. They had to purchase those essential items from the black markets, generally at a higher
price. They were also excluded from the state controlled distribution systems, which is where they
would have normally sold their products. This obstacle forced them to travel all over China to find
markets for their goods. (Wang, 2013) By no

and/or speaking in front of others. Over the span of the semester we have learned many techniques in
this class that I think have really helped me when preforming not only in this class but also in my
other classes. I have learned to project my voice to the entire class and be confident when I present.
Usually when I present I have a problem with talking way to fast, this class has taught me how to
control this. I have learned to take a breath when I am starting to talk way to fast. Learning how to
become a good speaker and presenter will help me in my future classes as well as with my future
career.
Upon graduation I plan on becoming a nurse. My dream job is to work in the labor unit with
newborns. Although with this job I will not have to do many presentations, these goals I have worked
to achieve in this class will help me in my job in the future. The most important will be being
confident in everything I do. I will have to be confident in my knowledge of the subject and also with

Police Canine Police Dogs
Police canine dogs are rapidly becoming a major part of the criminal justice police force. You may ask
yourself why are they becoming such a large part of the operation. This spike in the use of canine
police dogs is the result of many different things. Three of them being the fact that they can smell
extremely well. They also can replace a police officer from having to enter a hostile location. Finally
dogs are extremely efficient trackers. This is why i believe dogs are a major asset to the police force
and are inexpendable to the force.
Dogs can smell very well. At first they tested dogs and their ability to smell a few particles per
million, then billion and even trillion and the dog was able to smell the particles and even track the

Socrates Vs Emerson
In their work of explaining and utilizing self reliance, Socrates and Emerson similarly reference this
idea and how standing up for one s own beliefs will impact others. Socrates charges brought upon him
by accusers such as Meletus and Anytus are punishable by death. Though he may lose his life, he
refuses to surrender his original ideas and defends philosophy without changing his views even with
the impending death sentence. In the same way, Emerson s theme of self reliance dictates that
everyone should use it to combat conformity. I ve always been taught that believing in yourself is key.
Although many people allege that they rely on themselves, I claim that Socrates and Emerson s beliefs
about self reliance are significant because believing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Emerson, people need to Insist on yourself; never imitate (Emerson 18). Anyone familiar
with the saying be yourself can appreciate this idea. He further explains his method of self reliance
and how it will be beneficial in the long run. People should be self reliant and pursue their ideas.
Emerson is correct in implying that no one should ever back down or succumb to imitation which
could lead to more mindless thinking. Relying solely on yourself can present better opportunities than
carelessly repeated nonsense. This is one of the reasons that teachers say not to cheat on tests. They
explain that there is no use in trying to copy off of your partner s work because they could be wrong,
but people still do it. Therefore, these cheaters will never learn to think or figure things out on their
own. In life, the most successful people are the ones who are resilient and self sufficient instead of
selfish and easily discouraged. Socrates also brought up imitation when he talked of young people
imitating him, but they did not understand him. In the same way, Emerson s theme of self reliance is

  • 2. Difference Between Slavs And Italian Immigrants Slavs and Italians, being the most predominant immigrants during the late 1800 s, faced a series of appalling living conditions. For instance, Slavs who formed families and lived in the company built homes were most of the time in need and cultivated flora in order to survive on the very low wages paid by companies. Woman as a part of the family had to also contribute economically, this included taking jobs at textile mills and taking care of the gardens at home. Protein supply for these immigrants was small. Immigrants worked 10 12 hours a day, they relied on a diet with high levels of carbohydrates and starch, which provide them with temporal energy and fulfillment. • 3. The Impact Of Arena On The Beginnings Of The Civil War First, thank you very much for following the advice set out in my last memo. Through a coordinated media campaign focussed on clarifying the role of ARENA in the beginnings of the civil war, we ve been able to secure a small but consistent advantage over our FMLN opponents. However, according to the research that my team and I have conducted, this advantage is very fragile. While El Salvadoran voters have communicated to us that they do not blame ARENA for the start of the conflict, there is more confusion about the role of the party during the height of the war in the 1980s. Therefore, this memo will be divided into three parts: first, a surface level history of the conflict through the 1980s; second, potential academic explanations for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Magaña s Presidency took an active and purposeful role in opposing the FMLN guerrillas through attacks on the group s primarily peasant base and support network. From 1981 to 1983, it is estimated that at least 18,000 civilians were killed by government forces. Many of these deaths were the result of air force bombings of peasants trying to flee across the Honduras border or massacres committed by government infantry groups against FMLN friendly villages such as El Mozote in December 1981. Paramilitary death squads were also incredibly active during this time period, at one point killing six members of the opposition Christian Democratic Party (PDC), resulting in a condemnation of the Magaña government by PDC leader José Napoleón Duarte. The second phase of the conflict, following the election of Duarte and the PDC in the 1984 5 elections, resulted in a reduction in government violence against civilians and attempts, although ultimately unsuccessful, to reach a peace between the FMLN and government. The US backed Duarte, who defeated ARENA leader Roberto d Aubuisson amid allegations of electoral fraud, became the first civilian President in forty years. Political murders declined significantly during his administration, although there were still civilian deaths in combat zones and mass displacement concerns amounting to around 1500 deaths per year. • 4. Comparing Saint Joan And King Henry V Both being a symbol of honor and unity, Saint Joan and King Henry V were very different people. Living at different times, leaving legacies in opposing countries, and leading their armies into gruesome battles, they are to be remembered as great. Against all odds Joan changes her fate through the will of God and convinces her people to let her become their leader despite being a young peasant girl. Although Henry did die just before Joan became known to the world, his impactful speeches to his desperate soldiers are comparable to those of Saint Joan with their intellectual language of persuasion. And yet their words are contrastable in the way they choose to relate to the ones they led. King Henry was born to lead, as the next in line for the throne he was raised expecting the tasks that he had to face in adulthood. He knew as he drove his men to the Battle of Agincourt that they, as the lower class, would have no motivation to die for him. In his speech during Act III scene I he says, ...dear friends, attack it once more...on, on, you noblest English, whose blood is fet from fathers of war proof, fathers that, like so many Alexanders... (88, line 17). This quote shows his attempt at making his men feel honorable and noble. He is telling his people that they are great, and need to fight as their ... Joan, despite being a woman, used the imagery of greatness convince the Dauphin to give her a chance. Henry did the same with his men, but he did almost the opposite in a way. He had to convince the lower class of England that they would become great through this battle, whereas Joan had to persuade a person of high class that they should desire to be of the highest class. The two of them left different legacies in the world, but they both used the art of language and persuasion to achieve what defied all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of Forrest Gump The film Forrest Gump uses a lot of information and historical events and expresses them using aesthetic techniques such as sound, cinematography, editing, etc. The director Robert Zemeckis uses form to explain the overall meaning of the film specifically with symbolism from popular phrases and gives visual examples throughout the story. The beginning of the film starts with Forrest sitting on a bench at a bus stop. A lady walks over and sits down next to him and begins to read her book as he introduces himself to her. He then offers her some chocolate that she quietly declines. Forrest then says, My mama always said that life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you re gonna get . This phrase shows meaning to the entire film because Forrest is always led to a new thing or event in life that had no relation to the last. Zemeckis place this scene strategically at the beginning and it helped set up the rest of the story. Forrest is seen a few different times during other parts of the film with boxes of chocolate. This first scene is also the beginning of where Forrest starts to tell his life story. The director uses a diegetic narraration by Forrest to lead the story. He continues to talk even if the person sitting next to him on the bench has changed. The box of chocolates line resembles how Forrest sees life differently. He grew up being told by his mother on what he should and shouldn t do to help him get through life. He had the mind set of doing any opportunity that came to him. He did all kinds of incredible things such as playing on a college football team, joining the military, starting a shrimp business, etc. Editing can be shown during the historical events that Forrest participates in such as when African Americans were accepted to his school. The effect was in black and white to show an older scenario. The best use of cinematography was at the very beginning with the feather before the box of chocolates line. The camera follows the feather as it floats down towards the ground. The camera angle is positioned with a close up on the feather and with a blurry Forrest on the bench in the background. The feather then lands on his shoe where he picks it up to place inside his Curious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Persepolis Themes Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi is a graphic memoir that reveals the life of a woman growing up in pre and post Iran, as well as her experiences in Western countries. In this book, Marjane utilizes historical events that affect her life during her upbringing in Iran. These include the oppression of the Shah, as well as the rise and effects of the regime. These events integration into the story showcase how they affect Marjane and the other citizens of her country. Additionally, these events are important for the context and understanding that they grant readers unfamiliar with the text. The revolution and fall of the Shah is one of the first events we see in the story. Satrapi shows us the burning of the Rex Cinema, an example of the Shah s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another historical event that we see is the rise and effects of the Islamic regime in Marjane s life. This event is arguably the central issue that affects Marjane during her upbringing in Iran. Marjane shows how the regime begins to control schools, and how this affects her life by separating her from her friends (4, 3 4). We also see how the regime decides to close universities as they educate future imperialists. (73, 1 3) This demonstrates the negative effects that the regime has on society, as they prioritize Islamic values over education. The Islamic leaders portrayal shows them as upset and bored, and are given much different facial expressions than those that Marjane sees as intellectual (such as Uncle Anoosh (54/3) or Marjane s grandfather (23/8)). This imagery communicates the backwards thinking of these leaders, and as such, also effectively communicate Marjane s opinion of the leaders without needing to discuss it with text. Additionally, we see both of Marjane s views: Marjane not understanding the veiling and separation (3/5) as well as Marjane s depression over the closing of the universities (73/7). The text here illustrates her opinions on the situations that she experiences, and the imagery allows us to see a visual representation of her basic thoughts and emotions, which are well communicated. A final example of the regime s changes is the difference between the fundamentalist and modern women ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Given that the research problem in this report is ambiguous, the basic research method adopted is exploratory research. The role of exploratory research is to clarify and define a problem at the initial stage of the research. Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar and Babin (2011), suggest that exploratory research is not intended to provide conclusive evidence and is conducted with the expectation that subsequent research will be required to provide such conclusive evidence. Thus, exploratory research is the foundation of the research process which will lead to descriptive research, and maybe causal research. There are many exploratory methods that can be used to conduct research. These include field studies, action research, depth interviews, focus groups and desk research. This exploratory research utilised one qualitative method to collect data, which will help gain an insight of the research problem before further research is performed. The method chosen was in depth interviews which are relatively unstructured and extensive interviews in which the interviewer asks many questions and probes for in depth answers (Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, amp; Babin; 2011). Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, and Babin, (2011) also suggest that there is no one perfect method which can meet all research objectives. How might people (e.g. leaders, media) respond to his message? Like Seidenberg and Kulemin, the best years are behind him. The organization will be able to see whether or not Halak should remain an Islander throughout the remainder of the season. It is probable that Halak will ask for 2.5 million dollars per year, due to the fact that no team attempted to sign him last season when he was waived by the Islanders. DNA Barcoding using COI for Species Identification for Conservation Introduction and Literature Review The DNA Barcoding is becoming more popular in the present times due to its accuracy in the identification of different species. It has been approved to be more accurate than other taxonomic methods. The DNA Barcoding employs in the use of Polymerase Chain Reaction to magnify the COI gene. The amplified COI genes of the organisms are sequenced and compared with a known database of the organisms. The DNA Barcoding aids in understanding many characteristics of the species. These characteristics of the species include; trophic interactions, species boundaries, conservation of the biodiversity and functional feature of evolution (Kress et al. 1). Biologists use DNA Barcodes to single out an unknown species by matching a particular genetic marker to a reference genetic database. DNA Barcode can be one or short sequences of the genes taken from the standardized genome (Nagy et al. 2). This paper discusses the use of DNA Barcoding to determine the prohibited parrot trade. The prohibited wildlife trade can affect the existence of a species in a habitat by introducing other species that interfere with the living of the species in that habitat. In most cases, the illegal wildlife trade leads to extinction of particular species in the ecosystem. The benchmark measures the bandwidth performance by four long vector / matrix operations, like copy , scale , add , and triad (combination of other three). The algorithm assigns one of the arrays to another in order to measure the copy operation time and bandwidth. For scale operation, it multiplies the elements of an array by a scalar value. I ll strap my baby on my back if I have to, but we got to move. We have to get out of here (Page 1528). These pressures increase when Walter s wife, Ruth, finds out that she is pregnant for the second time, and begins seriously contemplating abortion. Yet even in an environment where a request for fifty cents becomes a family conflict, there is room for ideas and dreams. He has a genuine entrepreneurial spirit and desire to progress, but is upset that his wife does not seem to understand his values to improve his family status. • 33. Analysis Of Donald Trump s View On Political Issues And... Think Twice About Voting For Trump Trump s main appeal seems to be his projection of strength in free speech. This is his only trait that carries him despite his blatant lack of knowledge on political issues and lack of experience. Donald Trump s supporters follow him because he speaks his mind, but any sane individual should be vehemently opposed to Donald Trump being president. Donald Trump lies with such ease and tramples on free press and free speech, even going as far as stating he will change the laws that we already have in place. We cannot accept Donald Trump to become a prestige leader to run our country, he would be the most unqualified president in American history to become our president. Every one of our presidents has had either government or military experience before being sworn in, Mr. Trump, a real estate mogul and former reality television star, hasn t severed a day in public office or the armed forces. Moreover, Mr. Trump has admitted that he doesn t prepare for debates or study briefing books; he believes such things get in the way of a good performance. No major presidential candidate has ever been quite as disdainful of knowledge, as indifferent to facts as he is. Mr. Trump believes he ll snap his fingers and everyone from his political opponents will bend to his will. He is a man operating in his own thoughts in a fantasy world. • 34. Chin An Economic Power House Seemingly transformed overnight; China has become an economic power house. In truth, however, China has been growing now for more than 30 years. Since it s initiation of economic reforms and trade liberalization in 1979. China is one of, if not the fastest growing economy world wide, averaging nearly 10% growth GDP (Growth Domestic Product). (Morrison, 2015) This financial revolution began with a series of reforms. One was designed to revitalize the state sector and save socialism, others began as more grass root initiatives that led to free market capitalism. (Wang, 2013). China began to change their investments from producing capital goods to producing more consumer goods. They allocated more money to agriculture, and the government raised pricing for the agricultural products and increased grain import. After a series of painful events China began to privatize farming. This led to the de collectivization of agriculture (Wang, 2013) The de collectivization of farming meant that the local townships and villages had to enter into the market and operate as if they were a real business. With no access to guaranteed raw materials from the state. They had to purchase those essential items from the black markets, generally at a higher price. They were also excluded from the state controlled distribution systems, which is where they would have normally sold their products. This obstacle forced them to travel all over China to find markets for their goods. (Wang, 2013) By no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the first assignments we had in this class was to write a paper discussing our goals and aspirations for the upcoming semester in this class. The three main goals I focused on in that first paper were to make new friends and meet new people, to become more confident in everything I do, and to learn to preform and use my voice when acting and/or speaking in front of others. I think with the help of my professor as well as the help from my classmates, I achieved all of these goals I had hoped to, along with accomplishing many other things I did not expect to. I believe this class helped me in many ways. I have made more friends through this class then I had ever hoped to. The class had such a fun and open atmosphere and it allowed ... I think this has made me more confident in everything I do. The final goal I hoped to achieve this semester was to learn to preform and use my voice when acting and/or speaking in front of others. Over the span of the semester we have learned many techniques in this class that I think have really helped me when preforming not only in this class but also in my other classes. I have learned to project my voice to the entire class and be confident when I present. Usually when I present I have a problem with talking way to fast, this class has taught me how to control this. I have learned to take a breath when I am starting to talk way to fast. Learning how to become a good speaker and presenter will help me in my future classes as well as with my future career. Upon graduation I plan on becoming a nurse. My dream job is to work in the labor unit with newborns. Although with this job I will not have to do many presentations, these goals I have worked to achieve in this class will help me in my job in the future. The most important will be being confident in everything I do. I will have to be confident in my knowledge of the subject and also with how I present the information with the patients as well as with my coworkers. This is similar to this class. You may ask yourself why are they becoming such a large part of the operation. This spike in the use of canine police dogs is the result of many different things. Three of them being the fact that they can smell extremely well. They also can replace a police officer from having to enter a hostile location. Finally dogs are extremely efficient trackers. This is why i believe dogs are a major asset to the police force and are inexpendable to the force. Dogs can smell very well. • 37. Socrates Vs Emerson In their work of explaining and utilizing self reliance, Socrates and Emerson similarly reference this idea and how standing up for one s own beliefs will impact others. Socrates charges brought upon him by accusers such as Meletus and Anytus are punishable by death. Though he may lose his life, he refuses to surrender his original ideas and defends philosophy without changing his views even with the impending death sentence. In the same way, Emerson s theme of self reliance dictates that everyone should use it to combat conformity. I ve always been taught that believing in yourself is key. Although many people allege that they rely on themselves, I claim that Socrates and Emerson s beliefs about self reliance are significant because believing ... He further explains his method of self reliance and how it will be beneficial in the long run. People should be self reliant and pursue their ideas. Emerson is correct in implying that no one should ever back down or succumb to imitation which could lead to more mindless thinking. Relying solely on yourself can present better opportunities than carelessly repeated nonsense. This is one of the reasons that teachers say not to cheat on tests. They explain that there is no use in trying to copy off of your partner s work because they could be wrong, but people still do it. Therefore, these cheaters will never learn to think or figure things out on their own. In life, the most successful people are the ones who are resilient and self sufficient instead of selfish and easily discouraged.
