Report from patriots ghana knust campus chapter
1. REPORT FROM Patriots Ghana KNUST Campus Chapter:
On this day Saturday, 21st of September 2013, being the National Volunteer Day and also in celebration
of the birth of the first president of Ghana (Dr. Kwame Nkrumah), a group of Twelve (12) students from
Patriot Ghana KNUST (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology) Campus Chapter
volunteered at the Ayeduase Community Clinic at Kumasi. The group led by Emmanuel Yamoah
(President) organised a cleanup exercise and also donated some few items needed by the clinic. Some of
the members weeded the surroundings of the clinic, cleaned the gutters while others dusted the wards.
After cleaning up the place the president leading the members presented some dustbins to the clinic.
The clinic for a very long time has been using the black polythene bags as their dustbin and is
occasionally collected and disposed. The polythene bags are gathered at the staff bathroom inside the
clinic just behind the OPD until they are collected. This created a smell at the bathroom and also created
congestion since the generator, brooms, and many other items were also kept there. The nurses present
were happy to have received the two dustbins since it would help solve this sanitation problem. The
chapter also presented napkins and dusters for cleaning inside the clinic. They also encouraged the
students and said they would be pleased to have a partnership to help develop the clinic and the
community at large. We use this opportunity to invite all students especially from the Kwame Nkrumah
University of Science and Technology to join the Patriots Ghana team to help make a difference in the
communities around us. Developing the Nation with Passion!
