1939 Compare And Contrast
I prefer the 1939 film adaption of The Hound of the Baskervilles better than the 2002 film
adaptation because it is more appropriate, and sticks to the novel. The 1939 film adaptation was
less violent and definitely less gory. I personally don t think that violence and gore are necessary in
order to get the point across. The 1939 filmadaptation, featuring Basil Rathbone as Holmes, was
more suspenseful than the 2002 television movie. I feel like the definition scary of movies
nowadays is because they have a lot of violence and gore. In the classical movie era, scary was
suspenseful (Alfred Hitchcock, Bogie and Bacall). In the late sixties, the rating system developed.
That signified the end of classical movies and the introduction to the new and improved (not)
movie. Rotten Tomatoes, the biggest movie base rates almost all movies from 0 100. The 1939
film adaptation has an 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Other films with an 100% include, All About
Eve, (Bette Davis, Celeste Holm) The Band Wagon, (Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse) and Silk
Stockings (Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse). To give that some perspective, The Hunger Games has
an 84%, The Hobbit has a 59%, Harry Potter has a 91%. Notice as a pattern, the older a movie
gets, the higher the rating. The Princess Bride has a 97%. I guess my point is that the older
movies are more appropriate. The 1939 adaptation is Not Rated. That means there is no need for
it to be rated. There is no bad material. So you would be like, The 2002 movie would be G. Right?
Not! It is a television movie so it has no Rotten Tomatoes rating, but it is rated 15 in England....

Beryl Stapleton however, didn t know the her brother was doing all of those bad things to her
fiance. She didn t die at the end of the old movie. The Man on the Tor did not exist in the old

Cartwright were totally cut out of both

Jesus Transfiguration
Using literary analysis, some questions that come to my mind are the following: 1: What does
the symbols used in the text really mean? 2: What is the form of the text? I don t really know the
genre it is in. 3: What is the primary message of the text being told? What is it trying to teach me?
4: How do the characters relate to one another?
The style of the text is in a form of telling the readers about Jesus transfiguration. The style that the
writer uses/that Jesus uses is in such way giving many symbolism; the words used has many
symbolism. It is a descriptive style. The scene of the text is when Jesus took Peter, James, and
John up to a high mountain, this, I am assuming symbolizes going to a secluded area maybe
because Jesus didn t want

Boeing Case Essay
Boeing 767 Case Study Questions 1. How would you describe Boeing s approach to project
management? What are its strengths and weaknesses? Boeing adopts a very thorough, well planned
out process to manage the project. The stages are defined clearly and tasks involved in each stage
are carried out sequentially. The first stage of their approach is the project definition phase during
which Boeing identified holes in the market not met by existing planes, assessed future airline
needs, considered alternative plane configurations, explored feasibility of possible technologies and
performed preliminary estimation of costs. During the market assessment, analysts gathered
information regarding future needs of airlines by speaking directly to... Show more content on

Boeing had a clear project scope and put emphasis on airline needs (directly speaking with major
airlines) prior to the design process. An auditing team is developed to further monitor each
major step and make sure that each task is carried out properly; Boeing is smart enough to pick
experienced managers who thoroughly understand how this industry/company operates as
auditors so the review process can be carried out more efficiently and accurately. During the
plane design process, there are four head engineers responsible for four technological areas and
one chief engineer in charge of the plane program. The former is more concern about the
technical aspects of the project while the latter is more concerned about practical aspects such as
costs and scheduling; such approach is desirable so that people involved in the project don t get
too caught up in one particular area. Rapid communication between some of the foreign
participants and Boeing is emphasized greatly as there is a private telephone network connecting
Boeing to each participant. During the final stages of the project, meetings are held frequently so
that the teams can receive early notification to catch and solve problems sooner. However, there
exist some weaknesses of the process. Firstly, since some program participants are in different
countries and certain parts are assembled in different countries,

There are also a significant number of thefts targeted at electricity supply lines and sub stations.
These may result in a high level of danger, not only for those committing the theft but for
members of the public as a result of fires and danger from insecure installations. Case Study
Metal theft: Britain s most annoying crime wave One copper cable theft from a railway line. The
result? A total of 108 trains delayed, 17 hours worth of hold ups for thousands of passengers and
damage put at over ВЈ80,000. Plus, probably, ВЈ50 for the thieves. And these are the consequences
of just one of three thefts in West Yorkshire on the East Coast Main Line in a single night last
month. Network Rail, which is responsible for the UK s rail infrastructure, says the situation is
getting worse. On average there are currently six thefts a day across the country. The past year
has seen a huge jump in metal thefts, with a rise in the price of metals such as copper and lead
being blamed. The rise is being driven by global demand prompted by China and other booming
economies. The plague of metal theft is having an impact on most people, not just rail companies.

Charles Dickens Influences
The author Charles Dickens Was an inspiration to many other writers, and our Christmas traditions
today. The British author is known for righting many literary books. Some of his books are A
Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist, and Great expectations. These books all inspired other writers and
our Christmas traditions. Through Charles Dickensexperience as a writer he has influenced many of
our Christmastraditions today. I know this because in the article on the recollections blog it says,
Charles Dickens always held Christmas in high regard, but not only as a holy day, but also a
holiday. This shows that Dickens enjoyed Christmas and wanted to make it a better time. Also on

Ricky Substance Abuse
In today s society, we are faced with many issues and problem. How we learn to deal and cope with
these issues plays a major role in a person life. Ricky is a 37 year old male from Gainville, Ga. I
have been working with Ricky to help him deal with his Substance Abuse for about a month
now hears at Sunrise. When he was 18 years old, he moved to New York with his uncle to find a
job and to go to school to better himself. Sometimes life can throw a curveball at you by the time
he was 28 years old, he was hooked on cocaineand had been arrested numerous of time for
possession of a controlled substance and assault. His last arrested came a year ago where he plead

According, to Claus and Kindleberger (2002). A with substance abuseproblem needs to be assessed
and apply appropriate strategies. Ricky cocaine addiction has put a strained on his relationship with
his family because, they do not know his is using drugs, and his addiction has also put him in a
lot of trouble with the law. He also says when he is around his friend they influence him to use
drugs. Ricky also stated that his learning social skill has never been what it should have been
growing up. He had a hard time learning the information in school, which is while it took him so
long to graduate. Social Skill is the lack of knowledge, as opposed to intentional deviance
(Walsh, 2009). This deficit is found in children between the age 7 and 10. After, reviewed the
case files from his prior records and notes from our sessions. I have come up with this
assessment cocaine is the major issue that he is facing. Therefore, if he gets this under control
then he can deal with the other issues that he is dealing with. I also assess that this drug problem
is taking a major total on his body. Because, it is harming his body, which could cause major
concern in the long run. People who use cocaine is 5 times more likely to suffer a drug related
stroke. In my finding it was also relieved that after, using crack he goes into a stage of
withdrawing. In which he doesn t communicate with anyone and he sleeps all the time. I have
determined since this is the major force

The Marketing Mix
The marketing mix is a combination of 4 P s (product, price, place and promotion) that should be
used in conjunction with each other to ensure a competitive edge over other companies. The
marketing mix is designed to produce mutually satisfying exchanges with a target market .
Product
BA s product in essence relates to the flights offered. However, the product can be drilled down
into specific areas ranging from the airport lounges around the world, the extras that you can buy
on board such as model BA aeroplanes or even package holidays. Each of these has been
specifically tailored to meet customer expectations (which are highlighted in the section of the
report titled target market ). This part of the marketing mix focuses on how BA s products are
managed and in the Guardian case study article titled BA, Iberia and American Airlines tie up
heralds new era of transatlantic travel dated 06/10/2010 it shows how BA have made an executive
decision to link their websites with other companies to have the possibility to offer a higher number
of routes (products) to their potential customers.
Price
Price is simply the amount of money customers must pay to obtain a product . BA s price is
generally higher than their competitors although this is because they believe they are offering
higher quality. However, in recent times BA appear to be losing the price war against low cost

Informative essay
Holocaust Concentration Camps The Holocaust nearly made the Jewish population and religion
disappear from the face of the Earth. From January 30, 1933 to May 8, 1945; Adolf Hitler,
German politician and leader of the Nazi party, ran the Holocaust all over Germany and Eastern
Europe. Prisoners and victims of the Holocaust include: the majority of the Jewish population,
German Communists, Socialists, Social Democrats, Roma (Gypsies), Jehovah s Witnesses,
homosexuals, and people accused of socially deviant or socially unacceptable behavior. They
were sent to many different areas that had different purposes. The most used places they were
sent to are called concentration camps. Once they entered the concentration camps, there was no
escaping; those people officially became prisoners. There were 23 main concentration camps and
around 900 sub camps. Concentration camps tricked the Jewish people into coming into them by
offering them a better life on the welcoming signs outside. Some of the main camps had many
different inhumane uses. All of the camps are notorious for their cruel and evil ways of
everything that they did to prisoners, such as the genocide the Holocaust caused (Concentration
Camps, Killing Methods, Jewish Population). A lesser known camp, Westerbork, is located in the
Netherlands. This concentration camp was known as a Transit camp, which meant it wasn t the
end of the line for the prisoners who arrived there. These camps were a temporary accommodation
for the groups of prisoners that were being shipped throughout the country. Often these camps are
where families were split up by German Nazi soldiers. Westerbork was used from October 1939
through April 1945. This camp was shut down by Canadian liberation. Westerbork still stands as a
monument today (Concentration Camps). The next concentration camp, Dachau, is located in
Germany. This camp was the longest running major concentration camp throughout the Holocaust.
It started being used in March 1933 and was not shut down until April 1945. This was a forced
labor camp, so the majority of people survived when at this camp, but you didn t always get to stay
there unless you worked as hard as

Stephanie Cardon Analysis
Stephanie Cardon: PLATFORM 17 Beacon As an artist, Stephanie Cardon seeks to stimulate the
viewer to create their own understanding of the connections among objects and the intermediary
space between them. Beacon, Cardon s first large scale, outdoor sculpture, articulates this artistic
vision. A new commission for the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, the sculpture consists of
two 11 foot concrete towers connected by a canopy of two layers of thin, yellow vinyl coated steel
cables. The overlapping lines formed by the cables produce shifting visual effects. Although the
sculpture initially may appear a monumental and solid structure, on closer examination the viewer
discovers that Beacon is constant flux, changing with light, weather,... Show more content on

Cardon was born in the United States to a French father and American mother, raised in France,
and studied and lived in the United Kingdom. For the last several years she has lived in Boston.
Such autobiographical connections surface in her work. Leading up to making Beacon, Cardon
created the sculpture Transatlantic (the weight of water), which is a long, twisted band of knitted
wool that droops In the center to the floor. The blue color of the wool gives the impression of a
wave. Cardon links the physical heaviness of the dense mass of material to psychological weight
that exists between spaces. BEACON STRINGS AS CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATION

April 22 Passages Analysis
One reason these passages are different is because in the poem it basically states that paul was
just riding through each town without nothing happening to him. But in the letter he s beaten up
by some british officers and had a tough time. Another reason these passages are different is
because in the poem paul stays on his horse the whole time. In the letter he frequently leaves his
horse but is mostly on it. Both of these passages had great stories on that night, and gave great
detail.another difference is that the timelines are not the same. In the poem it s in april 18, 1775,
but in letter it has two timelines, one in 1774 and the same one in April 18, 1775. I have quotes
from each passage to support my claim. A quote from the poem is

What Is A Brief Political History Of Japan
BRIEF POLITICAL HISTORY The Government runs under the framework established by the
Constitution of Japan adopted in 1947. It is an unitary state, containing forty seven
administrative divisions, with the Emperor as its head of state. His role is ceremonial and he has
no powers related to Government. Instead, it is the Cabinet, composing of the Ministers of State
and the Prime Minister, that directs and controls the Government. The Cabinet is the source of
power of the Executive branch, and is formed by the Prime Minister, who is the head of
government. It is an unitary state, containing forty seven administrative divisions, with the
Emperor as its head of state. Japan was ruled by successive military shoguns. During this period,
effective power of the government resided in the Shogun, who officially ruled the country in the
name of the Emperor. The Shoguns were the hereditary military Governors. BACKGROUND TO
ECONOMY AND INDUSTRIES Economically, Japan is one of the most highly developed
nations in the world. Japanese brand like Toyota, Sony, Fujifilm and Panasonic are famous across
the globe. One common pattern which is followed by Japan from the very beginning is to import
raw materials and processed them to make finished products which are sold domestically and
exported. Agriculture and transportation are the highly developed industries in Japan. Japan s main
agricultural product is rice and most rice eaten in Japan is home grown. Shinkansen, or bullet trains

Free Tutoring Is A Great Thing For The End Of The Day Essay
Introduction
A lot of parents would love to get their child the help they need for school, or extra help to get
ahead if needed. Today there are a lot of tutoring programs out here, but all of them are not free.
So, where does that leave the children and the parents who cannot afford these programs? It can
leave that child at a lost because that child is not getting that extra help to become successful. Free
tutoring is a great thing for several reasons. At the HOPE Academy they offer free tutoring for
students who may cannot afford tutoring and are behind in their class. HOPE academy is making
a differences in their kid s lives because it is not just tutoring at the end of the day.
Social issues/challenges
There are several social issues that pertains to my service learning, but the main issue I would say
is getting the students the extra help that they need. Most of the students live in poverty or not the
best of areas and getting access to the extra help for school are slim to none. Most of the students
who come into the tutoring program at HOPE are not on their reading grade level or math grade
level. This is nothing to come to be a shock because there are a lot of kids every year that fall
behind their grade level. It seems to be the ones that do not live the best of areas.
This is a serious issue because once a child is behind especially at a young age it can be very
difficult to catch back up. Unfortunately, that child may never catch up to grade level if he or she

Business Level: The business strategy sets goals for performance, evaluates the actions of

Strategies for Downsizing Essay
Abstract Layoffs, frequently called downsizing, describe the process in which companies remove
temporarily or indefinitely a number of employees from their payroll. The reasons why companies
downsize are related to dramatic changes occurring in the environment of the organization.
Globalization and the breakdown of trade barriers among nations and the emergence of technology
and automation have also necessitated companies to downsize. For companies to practice effective
downsizing they must follow the following steps: education, reinforcement of company goals and
values, honesty and dignity at all time, planning, and communication. Besides the steps described
above there are other important points to consider when conducting... Show more content on

This may make the company lose a market share in its industry or respond to fierce competition
from its rivals resulting in the need for the company to cut costs through altering its size to fit its
market and customer base. Globalization and the breakdown of trade barriers among nations and
the emergence of technology and automation have also necessitated the company to downsize.
Thus, the overriding rationale for downsizing by the company appears to be the need for survivial
and the ability to compete in the new global economy (Beylerian and Kleiner, 2003). Strategies for
Layoffs and Downsizing For the company to practice effective and successful downsizing, the
following steps should be included: Education Reinforcement of the company goals and values
Honesty/dignity at all times Planning Communication Education В– The company needs to educate
its employees on the needs of the organization through regular meetings with employees in focus
groups or feedback sessions. This will send a clear message to employees that the management is
receptive to their needs and at the same time, it will help the management to design an effective
downsizing program. Education can also take the form of training the employees to look beyond
their existing roles and duties thus prepare them for taking additional tasks and roles in the event of
a downsizing. Reinforcement of the company

International Organisations, Agreements And Governance
No man [or woman] is an island is a sentence that captures humanity s need for interaction in order
to secure its best interests. In the context of international trade, supranational structures are
necessary for all parties best interests. With globalisation proceeding at an ever increasing pace, the
frequencies and magnitudes of economic interactions between actors of different states increases
exponentially (Nye, 298). Growing complex interdependence creates a common interest for
cooperation, in terms of pursuing a common framework of regulation and establishing a common
standard (Nye, 299 301). As such, this begs the question of how the above can be implemented and
achieved. International organisations, agreements and governance is the functionalist answer to the
above question (Rourke, 165), even under the framework in which states only consider self
interests. Throughout the course of time, these instruments have grown in number and complexity.
Examples of their more rudimentary forms are the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which were both established more than one and a half
centuries ago, providing a common technical standard among states (Rourke, 137). In the past
century, more sophisticated forms of international governance in political economy evolved. For
example, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade
(GATT) Uruguay Round in 1996 established
the current World Trade Organisation (WTO) and an elaborate

The Effects Of Down Syndrome
Children are our future; our future scientists, doctors, teachers, president and so much more. It is
hard not to notice the number of young parents nowadays that have children. the average age range
for mothers giving birth is 20 34. With the current up rise of babies being born to young mothers, I
could not help but think about how age plays a factor into birth effects. Down syndromeis the most
common single cause of human birth defects. The most common form of Down syndrome is
known as trisomy 21, a genetic condition where individuals have 47 chromosomes in each cell
instead of 46. Trisomy 21 is caused by an error in cell division called nondisjunction, which leaves a

Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet can be said to be the most famous of all Shakespearean plays; however, an
audience could be confused as to whether it is a Shakespearean tragedy or a romance. A
Shakespearean tragedy can be defined as an intense exploration of suffering and evil representing
a steep fall from prosperity to misery, untimely death and/or a great change. Romeo and Juliet

anyways to get this research paper started we have to know where these poster came from. In

make a motion picture. The first posters were created in the mid 19th century in France as
advertisements for new products. In less than ten years, the use of posters spread from France
throughout the rest of Europe. (FFFMovie, 2016) This is how big the first movie poster was the

The Divine Command Theory In The Book Of John
The divine command theory states that an action s status as morally good is equivalent to
whether it is commanded by God. I do not think executing a criminal would ever be considered
morally permissible according to the divine command theory. I think this because in the Book of
John, Chapter 8, a woman is found guilty of adultery and is brought before Jesus. Jesus said Let he
who is without sin cast the first stone . Jesus is not condemning the sinner, but calls the sinner to
change. Killing would not be commanded by God, even if the criminal committed murder, the
equivalent would not equal execution of the murderer.
Utilitarianism is a theory that states the locus of right and wrong solely on the outcomes of
choosing one action over other

The Indigenous People of Alaska
Alaska is different. When compared to the contiguous United States of America the differences are
pronounced and occur in almost all aspects of life. The differences even extend to the original
inhabitants, to the way they survived, treaties with the United States government, current way of
life, and education. An overview of the historical approach to education as well as the current
changes will hopefully provide insight into what works and what does not work in educational
settings in rural Alaska. Alaska is large. With a land mass of one third the side of the rest of the
United Statesit dwarfs Texas, the second largest state, by over two and half times. The twenty six
smallest states combined are still smaller than Alaska. Alaska s coastline is over 33,000 miles,
many times longer than the coastline of the remaining United States. Alaska is the most northern,
western and eastern state. It is filled with natural resources. People around the world identify
Alaska with the midnight sun, oil fields, Denali, Salmon and the mighty Yukon. Yet with plenty
of resources and all of that room, in 2000, the population of Alaska was only 710,321 (Alaska,
2014). Combined with Alaska s size this results in a population density of 1.2 persons per square
mile, the least dense of any state. 565,077 of those 710,321 persons residing in Alaska live in one
of the four population centers of Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kenai Peninsula, or Juneau. This leaves less

Love And Cholera Chapter Summary
1.What is the relationship between love and cholera in this chapter?
a.At the beginning of the chapter, Fermina and Dr. Urbino are part of a group riding in a hot air
balloon. The course of the trip flew them over the Trojas in Cataca, banana plantations, and the
Great Swamp before they landed in San Juan de la Cienaga. During the flight they had a clear
view of the devastating effects of cholera, as there were bodies strew in the streets of the villages
below. While observing these scenes, Fermina couldn t help but feel as though she had been there
before with her mother at a very young age. This is the first mention of Fermina s mother and it
seems clear that she misses her and loved her dearly. Fermina wished to return to her birthplace ...

All of the novel s protagonists are growing older and showing signs of age and none of them like
it. Dr. Urbino began noticing all of the symptoms that his older patients complain about, such as
insomnia and flare ups of pain, making an appearance in himself. When Dr. Urbino came to
retrieve Fermina from her cousin s, she feared that she looked so old and ugly...that he would
regret having come when he saw her like this (254). Florentino s increasing age is highlighted by
baldness that bothers him greatly and false teeth that don t faze him at all. Fermina has aged the
most because the affair and subsequent events took a huge toll on her. When she returns from
her second trip to San Juan de la Cienaga, Florentino notes that Fermina s hair was graying, her
eyes had lost some of their sparkle, and concluded that the last two years had been as hard on her
as ten difficult ones (256). The passage of time is noticeable in Dr. Urbino and Fermina thought
the general characteristics of old age that they begin showing. For Florentino, the passage of time

Dracula In Bram Stoker s Dracula
Throughout Dracula, it is clear that the vampire is a force to be reckoned with, worthy of the fear
accompanying its label. It is also apparent that the Count is a supernatural creature. The
townspeople strongly advise Renfield against travelling at night and become aghast when they
realize that he intends to travel to Castle Dracula. Despite their warnings, Renfield believes that all
of their concern simply stems from superstition. Later in the movie, Dracula himself subtly
confirms that he is a member of the undead in a conversation with Lucy and Mina at the theatre.
There, he seems to long death by bringing to Lucy s attention that he considers dying a glorious
thing. He elaborates on this concept even further by mentioning to Mina that... Show more content

Count Dracula s powers are put on display throughout the entirety of the movie, showing the wide
variety of attributes the vampire possesses. Among the most potent powers the Count has in his
arsenal are the ability to shapeshift into wolf and bat form, a command over nature and the
animals that populate it, the power to communicate telepathically and to hypnotize, his
unparalleled strength, and his inability to age. Dracula s shapeshifting abilities are on display
in many scenes of the movie. They are first presented during Renfield s carriage ride to the
castle. Dracula starts out in human form as the driver, but much to his passenger s surprise,
takes the form of a bat midway through the ride. Likewise, Dracula morphs into a wolf when he
flees the Dr. Seward s home after Van Helsing exposes him. Dracula s command over nature and
animals is not as obvious as some of his other traits, but is still worth noting. The viewer can infer
that the Count had a role in conjuring up the storm that eventually caused the vessel he and
Renfield were traveling to England on to wreck. In another part of the film, Dracula parts a lawn
outside of the Dr. Seward s Sanatorium and commands all of the rats within it to stop so that
Renfield can see the immense rewards he will reap if he continues to obey the Count. Count Dracula

The Three Major Battles Of The Vietnam War
The Vietnam war, also known as the Second Indochina war, was a very dark time. The war was
between Northern Vietnam and the PAVN (People s Army of Vietnam) supported by China, and
Southern Vietnam and the ARVN (The Army of the Republic of Vietnam) supported by the United
States. And the war consisted of three major battles. There was the battle of Ap Bac (the very first
battle of the war and a major loss for the Southern Vietnam), the battle of Khe Sanh (the middle of
the war and the turning point of the war for Northern Vietnam), and the battle of Xuan Loc (the
very end of the war and another victory for Northern Vietnam). This was a controlling time for
Vietnam. The battle of Ap Bac as the very first battle of the Vietnam war. It was fought by the
ARVN and the PAVN. The battle ended with a surprising loss for the ARVN, consisting an army
of 2,500 troops who failed to defeat 350 Northern Vietnam guerrillas. The battle showed poor

Theme Of The Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber
Hemingway repeatedly employs the word plenty to replace a description of what it is being
described. The question arises, is plenty enough? It reflects themes throughout his stories, through a
variety of emotions and descriptions. The lack of description around the word leads up to the
question of why it was used, and how Hemingway means to define it.
By stereotype, plenty is defined as adequate, possibly overabundant, supply of something. But
Hemingway, known as part of the twentieth century narrators for defying stereotypes of the 19th
century, highlighting the doubts and lack of faith, dampers this typical meaning. New but not
necessarily improved, plenty is used in the beginning of The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber
; A quid would be plenty, Wilson told him. You don t want to spoil them (Hemingway 1). Plenty
for the mess boy seems to be enough for him to survive, but not to live fully. Although spoiling is
not what defines living, the opposite of the spectruim, barely scraping by, does not either.
Similarly, in Big Two Hearted River, Nick describes his container for the grasshoppers, recounting
it as, It plugged the mouth of the bottle enough, so the hoppers could no get out and left plenty of
air passage (Hemingway 6). Once again, the grasshoppers could survive, able to breathe, but were
not able to escape their impending doom. For both the boy and the grasshoppers, a barrier is
blocking them from being naturally happy and content with their lives.

Banning Pitbulls
Euthanizing banned dogs
Dog lovers and the public have been raving about a topic that has gone viral and is soon to be on
the rise: painless putting band dogs down. It is believed by many around the world that these
animals are vicious, and aggressive by nature. By reason and choice I also believe aggressive pit
bulls and other banned breed dogs should be destroyed by euthanasia, and any further breeding
should be terminated. These specific breeds of dogs are very unpredictable, and are seen to
have an aggressive nature. They also leave a long line of countless and unnecessary deaths in its
wake. Some argue if these dogs cease to exist altogether then there would be no problems, as
they would just be replaced by less vicious dogs. Many people would argue Pit bulls and other
banned dogs are always only as good as the environment they are raised in, and the kind of stress
they are put under.

Federalism is a government system in which sovereignty is divided and often shared between a

Positive Impact Of Two Stable Biological Parents On Children
Positive Impact of Two Stable Biological Parents on Children
The debate on the type of family structure that has a positive influence on children has been widely
contentious. In the recent years, the family structure has continued to change. Many people in the
modern society have continued to change their attitudes when it comes to matters of marriage and
raising children. There are more single parents in the society today as a result of divorce and
separations. Consequently, this has contributed to an increase in the number of children brought up
by single parents. The current changes in family structure have become an issue of public concern
because of the effect it has on both the parents and children. It is evident that children who are
brought up by two biological parents do well as compared to children raised by single parents.
Biological parents in this case refer to married couples who relate to their children through blood
(Bachman et al., 2012). The single parent can be a biological father or mother who takes care of
the needs of his or her children. Two biological parents play an important role in providing the
children with necessary support during younger age by employing various parenting styles and
practices. Marriage is a social norm and the idea of raising children should be a combined effort of
both parents. Children raised by single parents lack good parental care and support which impact
on their lives years later. This paper discusses why two biological

Drug Trafficking And Its Effects On America
In regard to Latin America, this area is a crucial geographical zone for drug trafficking and
production. Due to the location, the drug trade has found its perfect home, vast mountains and
forests enable huge farms to produce and ship drugs to any region they want. Whether it is
Colombia, Peru or one of the many countries found to be in this vast collection of drugtrafficking, it
is apparent that they all share similar geographies that allow the trade to continue. As a result of
this, countries in this region have been subjugated to many imperialistic like efforts to eradicate this
growing issue, regardless of involvement. Through the use of diplomacy and past military
intervention, the U.S. and other countries have tried to keep a grip on the ever growing drug ring
surrounding this area. Unfortunately, it has become evident that the effort given by the U.S. is not
enough to combat this ever growing and secure market. Drug trafficking first started to show itself
in Latin America during the years from the 1960s to 1970s, when the use of drugs began to become
more popular throughout the youth of this period ( Crandal ). During this time, the people in these
exporting countries started to see a large growth in the revenues brought upon by the trafficking,
and rural communities began to supply more and more drugs, beginning with Marijuana, but
eventually becoming a much larger exporter of cocaine( Drug Trafficking ). Cocaine began to seem

Topshop Overview
Topshop was founded in 1964 in Sheffield England as a high fashion store for the young and
different generation. Today they currently have over 500 store locations across 58 countries and 86
of them in the United States. They still follow the same young and high fashion identity that the
store was built on.
Introduction Topshop Green
One thing that is missing from the current market place is a fast fashion store that carries eco
friendly clothing. There is currently no store that has a fast supply chain and produces inexpensive
clothing for a low price. Fast Fashion is one of the worst things that has happened to our
environment because of how the clothes are made and how fast they are being thrown out by
consumers. A missing category in the fast fashion industry is an ethical/ sustainable clothing.
Topshop Green will fill in this niche market that is just starting to come together. This line will
focus on fashion forward clothing but the first thought when creating the clothes will be how to
make them as ecofriendly as possible. This line will target the millennial generation because they
are the most aware of what s going on with our planet and will be attracted to a sustainable clothing
line.
Target Customer
Our target customer will be females 18 35 year olds, which is the Millennial Generation. The
average income of our customers is $40 thousand and up but income isn t very important because

How Is Heathcliff A Dynamic Character
One of the strongest yet most broken types of people in this world are orphans, the ones who grew
up without parents to teach the ways of the world to them. Very few are so lucky to find families of
their own, and when they do, they are incredibly improved or perilously worse. In the case of
Wuthering Heights, the unfortunate orphan is the character, Heathcliff. Growing up, he was treated
with respect and care from his father, Mr. Earnshaw, like he was his own son, and later was
treated like a close friend by his adoptive sister and love interest, Catherine. However, his
adoptive brother, Hindley, was nothing but discourteous, derogatory, and ghastly towards him.
Upon being bequeathed the mansion and the treasures from his father, Hindley immediately

Use of Symbolism in Hawthorne s The House of the Seven Gables
In the novel The House of the Seven Gables, Hawthorne portrays Alice Pyncheon as a unique and

  • 2. 1939 Compare And Contrast I prefer the 1939 film adaption of The Hound of the Baskervilles better than the 2002 film adaptation because it is more appropriate, and sticks to the novel. The 1939 film adaptation was less violent and definitely less gory. I personally don t think that violence and gore are necessary in order to get the point across. The 1939 filmadaptation, featuring Basil Rathbone as Holmes, was more suspenseful than the 2002 television movie. I feel like the definition scary of movies nowadays is because they have a lot of violence and gore. In the classical movie era, scary was suspenseful (Alfred Hitchcock, Bogie and Bacall). In the late sixties, the rating system developed. That signified the end of classical movies and the introduction to the new and improved (not) movie. Rotten Tomatoes, the biggest movie base rates almost all movies from 0 100. The 1939 film adaptation has an 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Other films with an 100% include, All About Eve, (Bette Davis, Celeste Holm) The Band Wagon, (Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse) and Silk Stockings (Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse). To give that some perspective, The Hunger Games has an 84%, The Hobbit has a 59%, Harry Potter has a 91%. Notice as a pattern, the older a movie gets, the higher the rating. The Princess Bride has a 97%. I guess my point is that the older movies are more appropriate. The 1939 adaptation is Not Rated. That means there is no need for it to be rated. There is no bad material. So you would be like, The 2002 movie would be G. Right? Not! It is a television movie so it has no Rotten Tomatoes rating, but it is rated 15 in England.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beryl Stapleton however, didn t know the her brother was doing all of those bad things to her fiance. She didn t die at the end of the old movie. The Man on the Tor did not exist in the old version. Instead, Holmes just dressed up as an old pedlar. The characters of Laura Lyons and Cartwright were totally cut out of both ... • 3. Jesus Transfiguration Using literary analysis, some questions that come to my mind are the following: 1: What does the symbols used in the text really mean? 2: What is the form of the text? I don t really know the genre it is in. 3: What is the primary message of the text being told? What is it trying to teach me? 4: How do the characters relate to one another? The style of the text is in a form of telling the readers about Jesus transfiguration. The style that the writer uses/that Jesus uses is in such way giving many symbolism; the words used has many symbolism. It is a descriptive style. The scene of the text is when Jesus took Peter, James, and John up to a high mountain, this, I am assuming symbolizes going to a secluded area maybe because Jesus didn t want ... • 4. Boeing Case Essay Boeing 767 Case Study Questions 1. How would you describe Boeing s approach to project management? What are its strengths and weaknesses? Boeing adopts a very thorough, well planned out process to manage the project. The stages are defined clearly and tasks involved in each stage are carried out sequentially. The first stage of their approach is the project definition phase during which Boeing identified holes in the market not met by existing planes, assessed future airline needs, considered alternative plane configurations, explored feasibility of possible technologies and performed preliminary estimation of costs. During the market assessment, analysts gathered information regarding future needs of airlines by speaking directly to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Boeing had a clear project scope and put emphasis on airline needs (directly speaking with major airlines) prior to the design process. An auditing team is developed to further monitor each major step and make sure that each task is carried out properly; Boeing is smart enough to pick experienced managers who thoroughly understand how this industry/company operates as auditors so the review process can be carried out more efficiently and accurately. During the plane design process, there are four head engineers responsible for four technological areas and one chief engineer in charge of the plane program. The former is more concern about the technical aspects of the project while the latter is more concerned about practical aspects such as costs and scheduling; such approach is desirable so that people involved in the project don t get too caught up in one particular area. Rapid communication between some of the foreign participants and Boeing is emphasized greatly as there is a private telephone network connecting Boeing to each participant. During the final stages of the project, meetings are held frequently so that the teams can receive early notification to catch and solve problems sooner. However, there exist some weaknesses of the process. Firstly, since some program participants are in different countries and certain parts are assembled in different countries, ... • 9. Informative Effects Of Holocaust Concentration Camps Daelyn Sagert September 5, 2017 Comp 4th Informative essay Holocaust Concentration Camps The Holocaust nearly made the Jewish population and religion disappear from the face of the Earth. From January 30, 1933 to May 8, 1945; Adolf Hitler, German politician and leader of the Nazi party, ran the Holocaust all over Germany and Eastern Europe. Prisoners and victims of the Holocaust include: the majority of the Jewish population, German Communists, Socialists, Social Democrats, Roma (Gypsies), Jehovah s Witnesses, homosexuals, and people accused of socially deviant or socially unacceptable behavior. They were sent to many different areas that had different purposes. The most used places they were sent to are called concentration camps. Once they entered the concentration camps, there was no escaping; those people officially became prisoners. There were 23 main concentration camps and around 900 sub camps. Concentration camps tricked the Jewish people into coming into them by offering them a better life on the welcoming signs outside. Some of the main camps had many different inhumane uses. All of the camps are notorious for their cruel and evil ways of everything that they did to prisoners, such as the genocide the Holocaust caused (Concentration Camps, Killing Methods, Jewish Population). A lesser known camp, Westerbork, is located in the Netherlands. This concentration camp was known as a Transit camp, which meant it wasn t the end of the line for the prisoners who arrived there. These camps were a temporary accommodation for the groups of prisoners that were being shipped throughout the country. Often these camps are where families were split up by German Nazi soldiers. Westerbork was used from October 1939 through April 1945. This camp was shut down by Canadian liberation. Westerbork still stands as a monument today (Concentration Camps). The next concentration camp, Dachau, is located in Germany. This camp was the longest running major concentration camp throughout the Holocaust. It started being used in March 1933 and was not shut down until April 1945. This was a forced labor camp, so the majority of people survived when at this camp, but you didn t always get to stay there unless you worked as hard as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. International Organisations, Agreements And Governance No man [or woman] is an island is a sentence that captures humanity s need for interaction in order to secure its best interests. In the context of international trade, supranational structures are necessary for all parties best interests. With globalisation proceeding at an ever increasing pace, the frequencies and magnitudes of economic interactions between actors of different states increases exponentially (Nye, 298). Growing complex interdependence creates a common interest for cooperation, in terms of pursuing a common framework of regulation and establishing a common standard (Nye, 299 301). As such, this begs the question of how the above can be implemented and achieved. International organisations, agreements and governance is the functionalist answer to the above question (Rourke, 165), even under the framework in which states only consider self interests. Throughout the course of time, these instruments have grown in number and complexity. Examples of their more rudimentary forms are the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which were both established more than one and a half centuries ago, providing a common technical standard among states (Rourke, 137). In the past century, more sophisticated forms of international governance in political economy evolved. • 28. Theme Of The Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber Hemingway repeatedly employs the word plenty to replace a description of what it is being described. The question arises, is plenty enough? It reflects themes throughout his stories, through a variety of emotions and descriptions. The lack of description around the word leads up to the question of why it was used, and how Hemingway means to define it. By stereotype, plenty is defined as adequate, possibly overabundant, supply of something. But Hemingway, known as part of the twentieth century narrators for defying stereotypes of the 19th century, highlighting the doubts and lack of faith, dampers this typical meaning. New but not necessarily improved, plenty is used in the beginning of The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber ; A quid would be plenty, Wilson told him. You don t want to spoil them (Hemingway 1). Plenty for the mess boy seems to be enough for him to survive, but not to live fully. Although spoiling is not what defines living, the opposite of the spectruim, barely scraping by, does not either. Similarly, in Big Two Hearted River, Nick describes his container for the grasshoppers, recounting it as, It plugged the mouth of the bottle enough, so the hoppers could no get out and left plenty of air passage (Hemingway 6). Once again, the grasshoppers could survive, able to breathe, but were not able to escape their impending doom. For both the boy and the grasshoppers, a barrier is blocking them from being naturally happy and content with their lives. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is believed by many around the world that these animals are vicious, and aggressive by nature. By reason and choice I also believe aggressive pit bulls and other banned breed dogs should be destroyed by euthanasia, and any further breeding should be terminated. These specific breeds of dogs are very unpredictable, and are seen to have an aggressive nature. They also leave a long line of countless and unnecessary deaths in its wake. Some argue if these dogs cease to exist altogether then there would be no problems, as they would just be replaced by less vicious dogs. • 34. Positive Impact Of Two Stable Biological Parents On Children Positive Impact of Two Stable Biological Parents on Children The debate on the type of family structure that has a positive influence on children has been widely contentious. In the recent years, the family structure has continued to change. Many people in the modern society have continued to change their attitudes when it comes to matters of marriage and raising children. There are more single parents in the society today as a result of divorce and separations. Consequently, this has contributed to an increase in the number of children brought up by single parents. The current changes in family structure have become an issue of public concern because of the effect it has on both the parents and children. It is evident that children who are brought up by two biological parents do well as compared to children raised by single parents. Biological parents in this case refer to married couples who relate to their children through blood (Bachman et al., 2012). The single parent can be a biological father or mother who takes care of the needs of his or her children. Two biological parents play an important role in providing the children with necessary support during younger age by employing various parenting styles and practices. Marriage is a social norm and the idea of raising children should be a combined effort of both parents. Children raised by single parents lack good parental care and support which impact on their lives years later. This paper discusses why two biological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a result of this, countries in this region have been subjugated to many imperialistic like efforts to eradicate this growing issue, regardless of involvement. Through the use of diplomacy and past military intervention, the U.S. and other countries have tried to keep a grip on the ever growing drug ring surrounding this area. Unfortunately, it has become evident that the effort given by the U.S. is not enough to combat this ever growing and secure market. Drug trafficking first started to show itself in Latin America during the years from the 1960s to 1970s, when the use of drugs began to become more popular throughout the youth of this period ( Crandal ). During this time, the people in these exporting countries started to see a large growth in the revenues brought upon by the trafficking, and rural communities began to supply more and more drugs, beginning with Marijuana, but eventually becoming a much larger exporter of cocaine( Drug Trafficking ). In the case of Wuthering Heights, the unfortunate orphan is the character, Heathcliff. Growing up, he was treated with respect and care from his father, Mr. Earnshaw, like he was his own son, and later was treated like a close friend by his adoptive sister and love interest, Catherine. However, his adoptive brother, Hindley, was nothing but discourteous, derogatory, and ghastly towards him. Upon being bequeathed the mansion and the treasures from his father, Hindley immediately began to treat Heathcliff as nothing more than a gypsy and a stable boy; no respect, no care, and no love. Hawthorne reveals her fantastic character to us in numerous uses of symbolism throughout the novel. By painting a picture of a gentle yet proud woman, Hawthorne chooses to represent Alice s impressive characteristics using images that come up repeatedly in his novel such as the nature and flowers in the garden as well as Alice s Posies. Hawthorne describes the bush as literally covered with a rare and very beautiful species of white rose (68). The white hue of the roses could no doubt represent the purity of Alice s character and spirit. The rosebush radiant in full bloom mirrors the fact that Alice s spirit is very much alive and vibrant despite her unfair death two centuries earlier. Also, when Hawthorne states that the whole rosebush looked as if it had been brought from Eden that very summer, he shows the innocence of Alice s spirit through his reference to the garden of Eden and her character s place among the heavens above. This rosebush in the Pyncheon garden symbolizes Alice s innocence and purity as well as her connection to nature and the flowers that God himself created. Besides Alice s connection to the nature in full bloom within the Pyncheon garden, Hawthorne makes several references to Alice s Posies which bloom every summer on the roof of the House of the Seven Gables. Hawthorne notes that these flowers did their best to gladden it [the house] with tender beauty in the same way that Alice s tenderness does its best to dominate the gloom of the Pyncheon House (31).
