What Are The Positive Effects Of Fascism In Society
Fascism was a movement from 1922 to 1943 founded by Benito Mussolini, aimed boost Italy s
prestige and enable the spiritual existence of man . (Sources 1 2). Italian fascism initially positively
benefited Italy society in 1922 however, it quickly evolved into a brutally violent and totalitarian
dictatorship that continued to negatively impact the Italian society and influence other European
dictators until 1943. This essay will explore the positive outcomes of fascism and how fascism
severely impacted Italian society through fascist violence, propaganda.
The utilization of fascist violence had a detrimentally negative impact on Italian society. In Milan

Mussolini s dictatorship initiated from chaos for Italy due to the social tensions between political
parties and his fascist dictatorship initially produced positive outcomes for the Italians. Mussolini was
efficient and successful in modernizing and uniting Italy. He reduced dissatisfaction and extreme

However, anti fascists believed that he secured law and order at the expense of freedom , That

Essay about Nietzsche and the Prophet
Nietzsche and the Prophet
According to Friedrich Nietzsche s Thus Spoke Zarathustra, the meaning of human existence is to
make room for the Superman : a superhuman who perseveres in its capacity for unlimited self
creation. (Pg. 49)[1] In order for humankind to embrace its self creative nature and allow for the
transcendence into this superhuman condition, however, we must first learn to destroy our present
tables of values; it is our desperate adherence to traditional (religious) values which prevents us from
actualizing our potential for self creation. It is important to note, however, that it is not the creation of
these traditional values in and of itself that Nietzsche condemns. After all, self creation is not only a ...

So, in spite of the immanent desire to be rid of the past, Nietzsche s protagonist, Zarathustra, finds
himself unable to completely sever himself from it. Hence Zarathustra s struggle to affirm his past
while pursuing a self creating future.
The aim of this paper is threefold. First, I will provide evidence for the interpretation of The Prophet
as an elucidation of the struggle of Nietzsche s protagonist to reconcile this inalienable relationship
between the past and the future. In doing so, I will focus on three main facets of the passage, namely,
the prophet, Zarathustra s dream and, the misinterpretation of the dream by the disciple. Second, I will
demonstrate how The Prophet can simultaneously be interpreted so as to advance Nietzsche s own
view of human nature as self creativity. Third, I will explicate what ramifications my interpretations of
The Prophet has on the relationship between Nietzsche and his reader.
The Inalienable Relationship Between the Past and the Future
The Prophet begins with Zarathustra being told that Everything is empty, everything is one, everything
is past! . (Pg. 155) That is, the prophet informs Zarathustra that the present day way of life has become
tired and saturated; there is no more advancement to be made in the absence of a rudimentary
transformation of humankind. In short, the time has come for the self destruction and re creation of
humankind; the time has come for humankind

Grist Vs. Blue Ether
Grist reaches an audience of over 2 million people per month, according to their website (About
Grist). Their content is geared towards the younger face of the environmental movement (Millennial
generation) which accounts for more than half of monthly site visitors (Lubick). Compared to Blue
Ether, Grist is more concerned with engaging the younger crowds, while Blue Ether wants to generate
engagement/impact among homeowners between the ages of 25 55 who pay utility bills. Still, both
news organizations aim to generate interest in environmental issues and enact change among
audiences. Strategies used by Grist to garner this engagement are relevant to Blue Ether. Social

Dietary Assessment Paper
There are several limitations to the dietary assessment, that could affect my diet quality both
positively and negatively:
1) According to my family s weekly grocery plan, the food consumption all 4 food categories is quite
approximate to the recommended amount by Canada s Food Guide (except grain products). The
sample size is too small for me to make a conclusion about my overall long term food habit.
2) Due to the flexibility of my schedule, the lunch and dinner times vary. This could probably worsen
my food habit due to possible binge eating (citation: international journal of eating disorder), and a
higher chance of choosing energy dense foods.
3) During school days, the food I consume will mainly be prepared by someone else, so it would

Refresco Gerber intents to control its inbound logistics by controlling the terms of its purchasing raw
materials. Therefore, there is a need for Refresco Gerber to look into the option of buying these raw

According to Cook et. al (2012), the major advantage of using an FOB term is that will give you
control of the inbound supply chain. It will typically allow you better pricing, control of delivery

Nostalgic Memories In Yusef Komunyakaa s Facing It Essay
Nostalgic Memories In Facing It Just as farmers brand their livestock in order to claim them as their
own, humans do the same when it comes to important events. There are certain moments in one s life
when an incident is so powerful, emotionally or physically, that it leaves a mark on a person forever.
The branded symbol that is left could be positive or negative, but there is no doubt that it has caused a
wave of all encompassing feeling. And although when looking back at the past the majority of our
memories tend to be viewed with a black and white perception, it is these rare occurrences when a
certain event can be so distinct that it is like experiencing it once more. This experience that was once
felt with the body and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His frequent use of techniques such as alliteration and flashback, as well as his overall construction of
the poem, easily conveys the anguish and torment that comes along with remembering something that
one has tried so hard to forget. Komunyakaa s use of alliteration has helped to slow down time, in a
way: Phrases such as My black face fades (Line 1) take a longer time to read, and therefore, one has
more time to let words sink in. Saying that the character s face is fading not only represents emotion
through word choice and diction but it allows certain words to be read with more force, which
expresses the author s idea that that word has extreme importance to the overall content and theme of
the piece. Komunyakaa also makes clear use of flashback throughout the poem: I see a booby trap s
white flash, A white vet s image floats closer to me he s lost his right arm . Literary devices such as
this one provides evidence towards the general tone of the poem: a dreary and depressing image of a
past incident. The way the poem is constructed is also confirmation that Komunyakaa wants certain
words and phrases to be prominent. His use of enjambment forces one to concentrate on certain
thoughts: I turn that way—I m inside causes one to imagine that the main character is deep inside his
train of thought; however, when reading the next line it is obvious that the literal meaning of the
phrase is that the character is

Violence In The Media
Violence in the media tends to be compelling to people across America. The average American has
seen 200,000 acts of violence, including 40,000 murders, on television by age eighteen. Often, the
media plays a pivotal role in the way violence is portrayed to citizens. The media can decide which
pieces of information to include or expunge from a broadcast. People soak up the incidents that are
happening in other neighborhoods across the United States because it does not affect them personally.
Violence shown on television can often be manipulated to fit one side of the story, and is tolerated by
the public because emotional detachment is simpler when the violence occurs halfway across America
from one s home.

The Rosewood Hotels Resorts
The Rosewood Hotels Resorts is a private hotel management company founded in Dallas, Texas by
Caroline Rose Hunt Trust Estate in 1979. The company had been adopting an individual branding
positioning strategy, for which it managed a collection of hotels across continents under individual
property names. This positioning strategy had helped differentiate Rosewood from corporate chain
like competitors in the same industry. Prior to 2003, Rosewoods focused mainly on acquiring and
renovating properties, building 12 unique and distinctive hotels globally. This strategy proved
successful, despite the fact that the John Scott, the company s CEO and Robert Boulogne, the COO
were concerned that the company was missing out the opportunity for potential growth in brand
recognition. However, after 25 years of operation, in the year of 2004, the company encountered some
business challenges that became barriers in raising brand awareness and customer retentions.
Issue Statement
Rosewood s individual brand strategy was consistent with their brand concept: A sense of Place ,
which was the underlying standards Rosewood capitalized upon when developing their properties.
This concept implies that each hotel needed to be tailored in a way such that the unique features and
characteristics of a specific location were emphasized and prominent, in respect of interior designs,
services and amenities. This positioning strategy was sufficient to generating considerable revenues

According to legends, Rome was first founded by two brothers known as Romulus and Remus. In
order for Romulus to become the only ruler, he murdered his brother, Remus, and created a monarchy
in Rome. After several kings, the citizens of Rome overthrew the last king for being cruel and a tyrant,
and the rise of a republic began to occur (History.com Staff). A senate of patricians and wealthy
families was created and they ruled together for a couple of years. Rome was divided into four classes
of people. The lowest class were the slaves and were owned by other people. They had no rights at all.
The next class were the plebeians. They were free people, but they had little say at all. The second
highest class were the equestrians also known to be the knights of Rome. Their name means the riders

What Role Did Wonder Woman Play In The Women s Rights...
For years the pages of comic books have been covered with male superheroes. The debut of Wonder
Woman contradicts the idea that the role of women only went as far as staying at home and taking care
of the kids. Wonder Woman played a vital role in the Women s Rights Movement embodying a strong
woman who was in charge. The riveting superhero Wonder Woman was created by Dr. William
Moulton Marston, internationally famous psychologist. The inspiration for Wonder Woman came from
Ancient Greece, where men kept women in chains, until they broke free. Wonder Woman symbolizes
the new woman that freed and supported themselves. Marston believed that male heroes lacked the

Wonder Woman played a huge role in uplifting women. However, when World War II ended, and
American men came home, many women began losing their jobs and Wonder Woman lost her power.
When Marston died in 1947, the new writers and editors didn t have the same commitment to symbols

Context HCC Industries is a small publicly owned company headquartered in California that has four
divisions across the United States. Three divisions manufacture and sell hermetically sealed electronic

This leads to demoralizing situations for their divisions. With attainable targets, they have something
to aim for. These drastic goals could cause the managers and their teams to give up, knowing that they
will fail to meet expectations. Another issue with the budgets is that they supposed to be fixed. As a
result, they don t account for unforeseen events. Some of the criteria are under the
division s control such as delinquency and quality. However, criteria like shipping, bookings profit
before tax are highly exposed to macro
‐economic forces outside of HCC s control. The threat of
termination could create situations where managers make poor decisions that will hurt the company in
an effort to save their position.
In the case of Hermetite, its unpredictable nature makes it particular challenging to budget for.
Because Hermetite s results could vary significantly, a fixed budget approach is especially
inappropriate for evaluating the work of the Hermetite division.

The Text Of The Meno By Plato
In the text of the Meno by Plato, the dialogue develops and attempts to answer the question of what
virtue is, and whether it is teachable. The paradox explained can be used to discuss merely anything,
and we can thus say that either one knows or does not know. If a person knows, then they cannot
investigate or question their knowledge. However, if a person does not know, they cannot inquire
about it which means a person cannot question for not knowing what they do not know. Plato goes
ahead and resolves the paradox in the Meno by saying that, one would not seek what he knows, for
since he knows it there is no need of the inquiry, nor what he does not know, for in that case he does
not even know what he is to look for. (Meno 80E)
The Meno dialogue elaborates that in order to understand ways of finding the diagonal of a given
square, a person needs to prompt knowledge that is concealed to the source. The Meno clearly states
that knowledge is an essence to belief. Therefore, what matters and draws an ethical line between
belief and knowledge is justification. If a person knows and believes, then it is not enough for one to
justify it solely on those means. The Meno dialogue explains that in knowledge, a belief needs an
account to tie it down and set a better example.
The Platonic theory of forms that Plato raised relies on the belief that the forms or ideas and not the
materialistic example or material is the highest most fundamental kind of reality. He uses the principle

The Assassinations Of Lincoln And The Alienation Of...
The assassination of Abraham Lincoln further alienated the North and the South after the Civil War
because his death did not allow his plan for reconstruction to go through and unify them. On the
evening on April 14, 1856, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth, who
had already attempted to kidnap Lincoln twice already, while attending the play of Our American
Cousin at Ford s Theater. Sitting with him were Mayor Henry Rathbone and his fiancée, Clare Harris.
While watching the play, Booth sneaked into the box the president, a knife in his left hand and a pistol
in his right. Booth shot the president in the back of the head, slashed Rathbone across the arm, and
jumped off the balcony. Booth caught his leg on a flag on the way down and broke his leg. Lincoln
was carried to a boarding house next door and died the next day. President Lincoln was the first
president to be assassinated in United States history. John booth escaped, sought medical attention for
his wounded leg, and fled into the Virginia country side. Union troops found the barn he was hiding
in, surrounded it, set it on fire, and shot Booth as he attempted to escape ( The Assassination of
Abraham Lincoln, 34f). The president s body was taken by train to Springfield, Illinois, where he was
then buried. Accomplices of Booth s were tried for their part in trying to assassinate other leaders,

Classification Of Minority Groups In The 19th Century
Classification of groups and people has been going on in our society, since the beginning of time.
Many people have been looked at as inferior to the major group (e.g. white males). With inferiority
comes superiority, which is on opposite ends of the continuum; those who feel they are superior are
really in need of power and control. As time has passed the majority classified many as inferiors, such
as minority groups, specifically men of African decent and women. Scientists attempted to prove that
differences could be relevant through physicality. This is how they described such differences as being
inferior or being signs of inferiority. If we look back at the 19th century we can see that condemnation
of different groups has been occurring throughout our history and decreasing slowly overtime.
The study of criminal behaviors or criminology can be traced back to the mid to late 18th century. One
attempt that was made was showing the connection of biological links and environmental links, in
regards to superiority and inferiority within the field of criminality. Usually, criminals have been

U.s. Patent Law And United States Essay
In the United States, both U.S. Patent Law and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) law govern
the exclusivity rights for new pharmaceutical products. As Chinese companies invest research time
and money in developing new drugs, it is important to keep in mind both the relevant U.S. patent law
and the applicable FDA law that could affect the exclusivity period for that drug in the United States.
Mistakes in not obtaining proper patent coverage or satisfying the FDA laws could cost the drug
company valuable exclusivity rights when that drug is sold in the United States. For a successful drug,
the lost of exclusivity rights usually means the loss of substantial revenue and profit.
How can a drug innovator have exclusivity in the United States without a patent? The FDA will give a
five year exclusivity period for a new chemical entity (NCE) used in a drug. What does this mean?
During this five year exclusivity period, no other company can submit an Abbreviated New Drug
Application (ANDA) to the FDA seeking approval of a drug product containing the NCE. This
exclusivity period rewards the innovator for all of the research and development effort, including
expensive clinical tests to show the safety and efficacy of the NCE that must be done to support a New
Drug Application (NDA). The five year exclusivity period allows the NDA holder to recoup this
investment. Importantly, this exclusivity occurs regardless of whether or not a U.S. patent has been
issued.

How Does Peter Shaffer Use Themes as Devices in Equus to...
It is difficult to suggest what the comfortable view of normal is as there are many different
perceptions, which should be considered. In the beginning of Equus one considers the character of
Martin Dysart to be normal as he rarely strays outside of societies boundaries. However, as we move
through the play one discovers there is much more to Martin Dysart than once thought. In reality the
themes dealt with in Equus challenges our own sense of what is normal. They are as equally as
shocking to Dysart, yet made justifiable by Alan Strang s worship for Equus, the god of horses. This is
why Peter Shaffer uses Equus as a sort of device to standardize and make the strange acceptable. He

Although abstract normality adopts god like features and begins to dominate our lives. It is The
average made lethal. Sadly, it is unescapable and whether we accept it or not it will stay with us
forever. Through the help of Strang, Dysart acknowledges this and realises his job consists of
removing the good smile in a child eyes . He feels as though by limiting one to the constraints of
normality part of their humanity is lost. This is shown through his dream on page 24. This dream is the
first time that the audience can see Martin Dysart s transition from the comfortable view of what is
normal to a more unique view on life.
Peter Shaffer uses Equus as a device to standardize and make the abnormal acceptable. In reality many
of the themes and actions dealt with challenge our sense of normality so by introducing an element of
innocence into Strang s character, we as an audience, are suddenly forced to connect and sympathise
for him. The innocence is ultimately illustrated by Strang s worship and love for Equus. Without the
element of innocence it would be difficult to forgive his defiance of the comfortable view of what is
normal. Yet without the defiance we would be unable to forgive him for fitting the societies view of
what is normal. Essentially this innocence is the element, which balances the personality of Alan
Strang beautifully. Interestingly these are the very elements that Dysart is lacking. That s what his

The Great Recession was an economic crisis that caused the housing market to crash, and many
people suffered greatly because of this event. The generation to feel the recession s effects the worst
though was the Millennials, people born from around 1981 to 1997. Many Millennials became
unemployed and where scared from this event, causing them to lean heavily on the government for
support. Today, Millennials, also known as Generation Y or Echo Boomers, are marked by their
increase in the use of social media and other communication devices to stay with the advancing times,
however the economic troubles have stayed with them despite the generation s growing use of
technology. Millennials have been late to buy houses compared to other generations, and this is due to
the Great Recession. Buying a house has many advantages and disadvantages, however buying one
later seems to be hurting the Echo Boomers. The benefits of buying a house stretch far beyond simply
having a private place to stay; a house has many economic benefits as well. Most things that people
buy, like cars or phones, depreciate in value, meaning that the longer a person keeps the item, the
more its value will decrease. On the other hand, a house appreciates with time, meaning its value
grows as more time passes, making buying a house a sound and smart investment. Even if a person
did not want to keep their house, they can typically sell the house for more than they bought it for.
Furthermore, houses bring financial stability that many other living arrangements cannot provide for
residents. When someone buys a house, he or she normally goes to a bank, takes out a loan, and uses
the loan with some of their own cash to ease the burden of their purchase, and afterwards, the person
must pay back the loan in amounts called mortgages. These mortgages are regular payments of a
fraction of the loan, and the amount does not fluctuate much, allowing the owner to know ahead of
time what the next payment will be. Rent payments may shift drastically from one payment to another,
and this may surprise the renter if they are not prepared like the homeowner. Also, owning a house
give the owner tax deductions, which can further help a person manage their

Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare Essay
Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
First impressions of Twelfth Night can be deceiving as on a simplistic level it can be portrayed as a
typical Shakespearean comedy.
However, Twelfth Night is a mixture of both romantic comedy and tragedy. The romantic comedy
elements can be found throughout the play as its structure is based on a typical Elizabethan style, it
has escapism with magical settings and happy endings, as is Midsummer s Night Dream . Also
Twelfth night has unusual names such as Sir Toby Belch and Sir Andrew Aguecheek, this type of
humour is also used in Midsummer s Night Dream in the form of Bottom.

Viola reveals that she would like to marry him. Olivia rejects Orsino s offer and becomes attracted to
Cesario. Also there is mistaken identity between Sebastian and Viola because they look so alike. In
this scene Sebastian is married to Olivia because she thinks he is Cesario. Antonio accuses viola of
being ungrateful etc, but Viola does not understand. Olivia comes out just hours after the wedding and
asks why Cesario is leaving when she had just got married to whom she thought was Cesario.
Sebastian then appears when it seems hopeless and Viola and Sebastian question each other while the
other people are stunned.
There is a lot of use made of practical jokes with the sending of the love letter to Malvolio. Malvolio
thinks that it is from Olivia when in fact it is a joke being played on him by Sir Andrew, Sir Toby and
Maria. Malvolio falls for the trick and tries to figure out the contents of the letter. Malvolio makes
himself believe that it is from Olivia and that she loves him. On the letter it tells him to transform
himself from a steward to a gentleman and to wear yellow stockings. He is further convinced that it is
Olivia and starts acting like a gentleman. Sir Andrew and Sir Toby are overjoyed with what has
happened with Malvolio. In Act 3 Scene 2 Maria tells Sir Toby and

Comfort Women In Ww2
World War II was a gruesome era filled with violence and death. Each country was in a competition to
find the deadliest weapons. War crimes were highly prevalent throughout this time, such as the
Holocaust, inhumane experimentations, and the Japanese internment. One is often overlooked and
barely spoken of: comfort women. Comfort women were girls and women from Japanese territories
coerce into sex slavery for the Japanese military. The idea behind it was to prevent rape and to reduce
sexually transmitted diseases in the army; however, this came at the expense of innocent women and
girls. Women and girls were tricked or kidnapped to be raped. They were forced into horrific living
condition. While the living conditions were horrible, the scars ... Show more content on

In Chinese Comfort Women: Testimonies from Imperial Japan s Sex Slaves, Liu Mianhuan, a former
comfort woman, recalls, Several military men raped me that day. ... From that day on, the Japanese
troops raped me every day. Each day at least five to six men would come... (7 8). Not only did they
have to experience rape, but also torture, starved, and forced to do labor.
For the comfort women, the hardest thing to do from their experience was to learn to cope with the
trauma if they had survived. According to the United Nations, Only about 25 per cent of these women
are said to have survived these daily abuses (39). They have to live their lives anguished and ashamed
for something they could not control. They would hide the truth from their families. Many of these
women developed mental disorders, like post traumatic stress disorder. Other experienced infertility or
had a physical disability. The worst part of the aftermath is the Japanese government refusing to
acknowledge this has ever occurred. De Brouwer, an author, has written, Until 1992, the Japanese
government has denied any responsibility for the sexual slavery system during World War II... (8). It
has been noted that it is rarely mentioned in history books. Rebuffing atonement to the remaining
comfort women, this strains the relationship between the Japanese government, the surviving comfort
women and the South Korean

Literature Review Of Fynbos And Forest Biome
Literature Review
Source 1
Species of special concern program
By Len du Plessis
August 2010
Summary:
Fynbos and forest biomes are the main contributors to vegetation diversity in the Garden Route.
Indigenous forests in the Garden Route cover 35 765.4 ha. The biome of the Garden Route contains
69% of South Africa s sub continent plant species. Approximately 30% of the Garden Route is
covered in fynbos. Mountain and lowland fynbos have been converted into pine plantations, having
huge effects on the spreading of these invasive plants and the biome of the Garden Route. Alien
invasive plants use excessive amounts of water which robs the native plants thereof and are in direct
competition for space and soil nutrients against the natural biome. Alien ... Show more content on

Summary
There are short term and long term plans for clearing alien invasive plants. When seed banks of AIP s
are present, the restoration potential is low and the impact on the environment is high. The Garden
Route s fynbos biome is most affected by the AIP s.
Ground should be 60% free of slash, which stimulates germination, in order to control AIP s. In order
to achieve initial restoration goals, alien weeds should be cleared and bear ground should be exposed
followed by a controlled fire through the area as heat and smoke germinates cues required by fynbos
species. Steep slopes and plant species may influence the restoration potential. Controlled fires
prevent local fynbos specie loss. No fire or too frequent fires reduce restoration potential. Initial
clearance of sites includes burning, tilling and pitting, and within rotation management, it includes
ground vegetation clearance, fertilizing, thinning, harvesting and unplanned fires. Variables that
affects the AIP s reduction potential includes annual rainfall (mm), average altitude (m), slope,
geology, soil texture and type, pre plantation vegetation type, alien invasive species present and its
density, erosion and pollution

A Relationship Between Project Team Integration And The...
Sustainable construction When it comes to building assessment methods, this theme led to many and
different forms of studies on the relationship between the project team integration and the sustainable
construction. Comparing dominant construction strategies with sustainable construction, Lutzkendorf
Lorenz (2011) argue that, on one hand, sustainable construction requires greater disciplinary
specialization and greater functional dependence between components. On the other hand, traditional
construction, which in turn depends on greater integration between project team members (Robichaud
Anantatmula, 2011; Rohracher, 2001). There are also research based on empirically point of view, a
number of scholars have tried to test such claims by developing quantitative indices for different
dimensions of project team integration and sustainable construction and by examining the statistical
relation between them. For example, Mollaoglu Korkmaz, Swarup, James Whitcomb Riley (2013)
examined the relation between project delivery methods, project team integration and LEED building
scores in 12 case studies in the United States. They operationalized integration by the early
collaboration of the project s participants, the chemistry among participants and the timing and
method of communication (Mollaoglu Korkmaz, Swarup, Riley, 2013). The research found the
expected relation between project team integration and procurement method (with American

The Convicts, by Iain Lawrence, is a story of a young boy...
The Convicts, by Iain Lawrence, is a story of a young boy who faces great odds to complete his quest
to help his father. This novel takes many twists and turns through the landscape of London, more
specifically in nineteenth century London. However, London is not described in the picturesque view
many people have come to know London as. Lawrence shows the uglier more rugged lifestyle of
many poor people in London during this time period. Within a society like this in London, swindling,
gangs, and prison become common subjects among the lower classes, especially in this novel.
Although life was hard for many, the characters in this novel find adventure along the way while
aboard ships and through underground sewers.
The main character, Tom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

interesting character who was blind. Knowing that the man possessed a rare jewel, Tom took it in the

The Towers Of Babylon Summary
The Towers of Babylon , by Shirley Ye, consists of 4 watercolour and acrylic paintings, as well as 2
relief sculptures. The abstract (meaning, relating to reality, however has been distorted to appear
unreal) works of the series, speak about the dangers of urbanisation, references to the biblical tower of
Babylon as well as the quote, the higher you build, the greater you fall (Edwin Almeida). This artwork
as a series, will be the main focus of this review.
The series mainly comprise of watercolour and acrylic paint (paintings), paper photographs, wood,
metal and human figurines (sculptures). The 4 canvas paintings all display a theme of spaced out
areas, as well as areas that are tightly packed with layered lines/dots of paint. The sculptures however,
are built to appear tall and unstable for the human figurines that are placed standing close behind one
another. In addition, the sculptures consist of angled/protruding photographs of city environments and
metal bird cages. Across the six artworks, the tone and colours contrast through bright, warm tones, to
cold and dark shades, possibly to convey both positive and negative aspects of urbanisation, and the
reasoning (to find better jobs, education, etc) behind urbanisation.
The artist explains the artworks are made to display the dangers of urbanisation and make references
to disasters such as the fallen towers 9/11, Rana Plaza and Grenfell Tower. Shirley does this in her
artworks through symbolic meaning in the

The Issue Of The United States ( U.s. )
I. Explanation of Issues What is the main problem/question at issue in this article? The main problem
at issue in the article is that the United States (U.S.), as a country, are still largely employing the Gross
Domestic Product (GDP) to measure the welfare of the nation although the welfare of a nation can
scarcely be inferred from a measurement of national income. What are some of the subsidiary,
embebbed, or implicit aspects of the problem, and what are their relationship to each other? There are
also other aspects to the problem. These aspects include: (1) the Congress did not heed Simon Kuznets
s warning about how little GDP is connected to welfare of the nation; (2) Americans only came to
know more about limitations of the GDP in measuring their well being after Great Recession; and (3)
there is the emergence of a suggestion to implement alternative measures that more accurately reflect
the progress of human well being. These aspects are related to one another. The Congress s initial
ignorance led to the eventual late discovery about how the GDP has its limits. This in turn led to the
creation of or debate for other measures of welfare. This shows how the movement for alternative
measures to human well being is being triggered. This would then introduce the idea of including
more factors other than national income into the measurement of well being. For instance, according
to Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI), the well being of individuals is comprised of economic,

  • 3. Essay about Nietzsche and the Prophet Nietzsche and the Prophet According to Friedrich Nietzsche s Thus Spoke Zarathustra, the meaning of human existence is to make room for the Superman : a superhuman who perseveres in its capacity for unlimited self creation. (Pg. 49)[1] In order for humankind to embrace its self creative nature and allow for the transcendence into this superhuman condition, however, we must first learn to destroy our present tables of values; it is our desperate adherence to traditional (religious) values which prevents us from actualizing our potential for self creation. It is important to note, however, that it is not the creation of these traditional values in and of itself that Nietzsche condemns. After all, self creation is not only a ... Hence Zarathustra s struggle to affirm his past while pursuing a self creating future. The aim of this paper is threefold. First, I will provide evidence for the interpretation of The Prophet as an elucidation of the struggle of Nietzsche s protagonist to reconcile this inalienable relationship between the past and the future. In doing so, I will focus on three main facets of the passage, namely, the prophet, Zarathustra s dream and, the misinterpretation of the dream by the disciple. Second, I will demonstrate how The Prophet can simultaneously be interpreted so as to advance Nietzsche s own view of human nature as self creativity. Third, I will explicate what ramifications my interpretations of The Prophet has on the relationship between Nietzsche and his reader. The Inalienable Relationship Between the Past and the Future The Prophet begins with Zarathustra being told that Everything is empty, everything is one, everything is past! . (Pg. 155) That is, the prophet informs Zarathustra that the present day way of life has become tired and saturated; there is no more advancement to be made in the absence of a rudimentary transformation of humankind. In short, the time has come for the self destruction and re creation of humankind; the time has come for humankind ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their content is geared towards the younger face of the environmental movement (Millennial generation) which accounts for more than half of monthly site visitors (Lubick). Compared to Blue Ether, Grist is more concerned with engaging the younger crowds, while Blue Ether wants to generate engagement/impact among homeowners between the ages of 25 55 who pay utility bills. Dietary Assessment Paper There are several limitations to the dietary assessment, that could affect my diet quality both positively and negatively: 1) According to my family s weekly grocery plan, the food consumption all 4 food categories is quite approximate to the recommended amount by Canada s Food Guide (except grain products). The sample size is too small for me to make a conclusion about my overall long term food habit. 2) Due to the flexibility of my schedule, the lunch and dinner times vary. This could probably worsen my food habit due to possible binge eating (citation: international journal of eating disorder), and a higher chance of choosing energy dense foods. 3) During school days, the food I consume will mainly be prepared by someone else, so it would ... Therefore, there is a need for Refresco Gerber to look into the option of buying these raw materials under the terms that are more favorable to its expenses. In this case, an FOB (Free On Board) term seems to be the right option for the Company. According to Cook et. al (2012), the major advantage of using an FOB term is that will give you control of the inbound supply chain. Nostalgic Memories In Yusef Komunyakaa s Facing It Essay Nostalgic Memories In Facing It Just as farmers brand their livestock in order to claim them as their own, humans do the same when it comes to important events. There are certain moments in one s life when an incident is so powerful, emotionally or physically, that it leaves a mark on a person forever. The branded symbol that is left could be positive or negative, but there is no doubt that it has caused a wave of all encompassing feeling. His frequent use of techniques such as alliteration and flashback, as well as his overall construction of the poem, easily conveys the anguish and torment that comes along with remembering something that one has tried so hard to forget. Komunyakaa s use of alliteration has helped to slow down time, in a way: Phrases such as My black face fades (Line 1) take a longer time to read, and therefore, one has more time to let words sink in. Saying that the character s face is fading not only represents emotion through word choice and diction but it allows certain words to be read with more force, which expresses the author s idea that that word has extreme importance to the overall content and theme of the piece. Komunyakaa also makes clear use of flashback throughout the poem: I see a booby trap s white flash, A white vet s image floats closer to me he s lost his right arm . Literary devices such as this one provides evidence towards the general tone of the poem: a dreary and depressing image of a past incident. The way the poem is constructed is also confirmation that Komunyakaa wants certain words and phrases to be prominent. His use of enjambment forces one to concentrate on certain thoughts: I turn that way—I m inside causes one to imagine that the main character is deep inside his train of thought; however, when reading the next line it is obvious that the literal meaning of the phrase is that the character is ... • 15. The Text Of The Meno By Plato In the text of the Meno by Plato, the dialogue develops and attempts to answer the question of what virtue is, and whether it is teachable. The paradox explained can be used to discuss merely anything, and we can thus say that either one knows or does not know. If a person knows, then they cannot investigate or question their knowledge. However, if a person does not know, they cannot inquire about it which means a person cannot question for not knowing what they do not know. Plato goes ahead and resolves the paradox in the Meno by saying that, one would not seek what he knows, for since he knows it there is no need of the inquiry, nor what he does not know, for in that case he does not even know what he is to look for. (Meno 80E) The Meno dialogue elaborates that in order to understand ways of finding the diagonal of a given square, a person needs to prompt knowledge that is concealed to the source. The Meno clearly states that knowledge is an essence to belief. Therefore, what matters and draws an ethical line between belief and knowledge is justification. If a person knows and believes, then it is not enough for one to justify it solely on those means. The Meno dialogue explains that in knowledge, a belief needs an account to tie it down and set a better example. The Platonic theory of forms that Plato raised relies on the belief that the forms or ideas and not the materialistic example or material is the highest most fundamental kind of reality. He uses the principle of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The assassination of Abraham Lincoln further alienated the North and the South after the Civil War because his death did not allow his plan for reconstruction to go through and unify them. On the evening on April 14, 1856, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth, who had already attempted to kidnap Lincoln twice already, while attending the play of Our American Cousin at Ford s Theater. Sitting with him were Mayor Henry Rathbone and his fiancée, Clare Harris. While watching the play, Booth sneaked into the box the president, a knife in his left hand and a pistol in his right. Booth shot the president in the back of the head, slashed Rathbone across the arm, and jumped off the balcony. Booth caught his leg on a flag on the way down and broke his leg. Lincoln was carried to a boarding house next door and died the next day. President Lincoln was the first president to be assassinated in United States history. John booth escaped, sought medical attention for his wounded leg, and fled into the Virginia country side. Union troops found the barn he was hiding in, surrounded it, set it on fire, and shot Booth as he attempted to escape ( The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln, 34f). • 17. Classification Of Minority Groups In The 19th Century Classification of groups and people has been going on in our society, since the beginning of time. Many people have been looked at as inferior to the major group (e.g. white males). With inferiority comes superiority, which is on opposite ends of the continuum; those who feel they are superior are really in need of power and control. As time has passed the majority classified many as inferiors, such as minority groups, specifically men of African decent and women. Scientists attempted to prove that differences could be relevant through physicality. This is how they described such differences as being inferior or being signs of inferiority. If we look back at the 19th century we can see that condemnation of different groups has been occurring throughout our history and decreasing slowly overtime. The study of criminal behaviors or criminology can be traced back to the mid to late 18th century. • 19. U.s. Patent Law And United States Essay In the United States, both U.S. Patent Law and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) law govern the exclusivity rights for new pharmaceutical products. As Chinese companies invest research time and money in developing new drugs, it is important to keep in mind both the relevant U.S. patent law and the applicable FDA law that could affect the exclusivity period for that drug in the United States. Mistakes in not obtaining proper patent coverage or satisfying the FDA laws could cost the drug company valuable exclusivity rights when that drug is sold in the United States. For a successful drug, the lost of exclusivity rights usually means the loss of substantial revenue and profit. How can a drug innovator have exclusivity in the United States without a patent? The FDA will give a five year exclusivity period for a new chemical entity (NCE) used in a drug. What does this mean? During this five year exclusivity period, no other company can submit an Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) to the FDA seeking approval of a drug product containing the NCE. This exclusivity period rewards the innovator for all of the research and development effort, including expensive clinical tests to show the safety and efficacy of the NCE that must be done to support a New Drug Application (NDA). During some cancer treatments, the radiation therapists usually use bolus materials as a second skin to bring the maximum dose closer to the patient s skin surface. There re many different types of bolus materials such as Superflab, Play doh and uncooked rice. However, they all have different advantages and dis advantages that somehow affect the maximum dose buildup to patients. To help the therapists knowing the best bolus material using with radiation treatment in the future, researcher performs this study to compare the three alternative bolus materials to Superflab for providing the maximum dose buildup (Dmax). It is dependent variable since each type of bolus materials has different independent variables such as shape, substance and density. Nevertheless, there is no significant difference in providing the maximum dose buildup between the three alternative bolus materials and Superflab. Method In order to perform the study, researcher used a Superflab bolus material with the dimensions 10cm x 10cm x 1.0cm, two sets of Play doh with color neon green and neon orange, which placed on top of clear thin plastic bags as well as the rice in a sandwich bag having the same dimensions as Superflab for the trial. Firstly, researcher placed flush the Superflab bolus material on top of the solid water to obtain the measurement. Secondly, researcher subsequently measured the two sets of Play doh and the rice bag to make sure they all had the same dimension as mentioned above (10cm x 10cm x 1.0cm). Next, researcher used a Varian Clinac 6EX Linear Accelerator to produce 6MV photon for the study. Researcher then used an Exradin A2 Farmer chamber to measure the ionization of each material, and used a Keithley 35614 digital dosimeter with no temperature or pressure corrections made to read the measurements. • 22. How Does Peter Shaffer Use Themes as Devices in Equus to... It is difficult to suggest what the comfortable view of normal is as there are many different perceptions, which should be considered. In the beginning of Equus one considers the character of Martin Dysart to be normal as he rarely strays outside of societies boundaries. However, as we move through the play one discovers there is much more to Martin Dysart than once thought. In reality the themes dealt with in Equus challenges our own sense of what is normal. They are as equally as shocking to Dysart, yet made justifiable by Alan Strang s worship for Equus, the god of horses. Sadly, it is unescapable and whether we accept it or not it will stay with us forever. Through the help of Strang, Dysart acknowledges this and realises his job consists of removing the good smile in a child eyes . He feels as though by limiting one to the constraints of normality part of their humanity is lost. This is shown through his dream on page 24. This dream is the first time that the audience can see Martin Dysart s transition from the comfortable view of what is normal to a more unique view on life. Peter Shaffer uses Equus as a device to standardize and make the abnormal acceptable. In reality many of the themes and actions dealt with challenge our sense of normality so by introducing an element of innocence into Strang s character, we as an audience, are suddenly forced to connect and sympathise for him. The innocence is ultimately illustrated by Strang s worship and love for Equus. Without the element of innocence it would be difficult to forgive his defiance of the comfortable view of what is normal. Yet without the defiance we would be unable to forgive him for fitting the societies view of what is normal. Essentially this innocence is the element, which balances the personality of Alan Strang beautifully. Interestingly these are the very elements that Dysart is lacking. • 23. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Millennials The Great Recession was an economic crisis that caused the housing market to crash, and many people suffered greatly because of this event. The generation to feel the recession s effects the worst though was the Millennials, people born from around 1981 to 1997. Many Millennials became unemployed and where scared from this event, causing them to lean heavily on the government for support. Today, Millennials, also known as Generation Y or Echo Boomers, are marked by their increase in the use of social media and other communication devices to stay with the advancing times, however the economic troubles have stayed with them despite the generation s growing use of technology. Millennials have been late to buy houses compared to other generations, and this is due to the Great Recession. Buying a house has many advantages and disadvantages, however buying one later seems to be hurting the Echo Boomers. The benefits of buying a house stretch far beyond simply having a private place to stay; a house has many economic benefits as well. Most things that people buy, like cars or phones, depreciate in value, meaning that the longer a person keeps the item, the more its value will decrease. On the other hand, a house appreciates with time, meaning its value grows as more time passes, making buying a house a sound and smart investment. Even if a person did not want to keep their house, they can typically sell the house for more than they bought it for. Furthermore, houses bring financial stability that many other living arrangements cannot provide for residents. When someone buys a house, he or she normally goes to a bank, takes out a loan, and uses the loan with some of their own cash to ease the burden of their purchase, and afterwards, the person must pay back the loan in amounts called mortgages. These mortgages are regular payments of a fraction of the loan, and the amount does not fluctuate much, allowing the owner to know ahead of time what the next payment will be. Rent payments may shift drastically from one payment to another, and this may surprise the renter if they are not prepared like the homeowner. Also, owning a house give the owner tax deductions, which can further help a person manage their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

War crimes were highly prevalent throughout this time, such as the Holocaust, inhumane experimentations, and the Japanese internment. One is often overlooked and barely spoken of: comfort women. Comfort women were girls and women from Japanese territories coerce into sex slavery for the Japanese military. The idea behind it was to prevent rape and to reduce sexually transmitted diseases in the army; however, this came at the expense of innocent women and girls. Literature Review Of Fynbos And Forest Biome Literature Review Source 1 Species of special concern program By Len du Plessis August 2010 Summary: Fynbos and forest biomes are the main contributors to vegetation diversity in the Garden Route. Indigenous forests in the Garden Route cover 35 765.4 ha. The biome of the Garden Route contains 69% of South Africa s sub continent plant species. Approximately 30% of the Garden Route is covered in fynbos. Mountain and lowland fynbos have been converted into pine plantations, having huge effects on the spreading of these invasive plants and the biome of the Garden Route. When seed banks of AIP s are present, the restoration potential is low and the impact on the environment is high. The Garden Route s fynbos biome is most affected by the AIP s. Ground should be 60% free of slash, which stimulates germination, in order to control AIP s. In order to achieve initial restoration goals, alien weeds should be cleared and bear ground should be exposed followed by a controlled fire through the area as heat and smoke germinates cues required by fynbos species. Steep slopes and plant species may influence the restoration potential. Controlled fires prevent local fynbos specie loss. No fire or too frequent fires reduce restoration potential. Initial clearance of sites includes burning, tilling and pitting, and within rotation management, it includes ground vegetation clearance, fertilizing, thinning, harvesting and unplanned fires. Variables that affects the AIP s reduction potential includes annual rainfall (mm), average altitude (m), slope, geology, soil texture and type, pre plantation vegetation type, alien invasive species present and its density, erosion and pollution ... • 27. A Relationship Between Project Team Integration And The... Sustainable construction When it comes to building assessment methods, this theme led to many and different forms of studies on the relationship between the project team integration and the sustainable construction. Comparing dominant construction strategies with sustainable construction, Lutzkendorf Lorenz (2011) argue that, on one hand, sustainable construction requires greater disciplinary specialization and greater functional dependence between components. On the other hand, traditional construction, which in turn depends on greater integration between project team members (Robichaud Anantatmula, 2011; Rohracher, 2001). There are also research based on empirically point of view, a number of scholars have tried to test such claims by developing quantitative indices for different dimensions of project team integration and sustainable construction and by examining the statistical relation between them. For example, Mollaoglu Korkmaz, Swarup, James Whitcomb Riley (2013) examined the relation between project delivery methods, project team integration and LEED building scores in 12 case studies in the United States. They operationalized integration by the early collaboration of the project s participants, the chemistry among participants and the timing and method of communication (Mollaoglu Korkmaz, Swarup, Riley, 2013). The research found the expected relation between project team integration and procurement method (with American Construction Management at Risk ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The abstract (meaning, relating to reality, however has been distorted to appear unreal) works of the series, speak about the dangers of urbanisation, references to the biblical tower of Babylon as well as the quote, the higher you build, the greater you fall (Edwin Almeida). This artwork as a series, will be the main focus of this review. The series mainly comprise of watercolour and acrylic paint (paintings), paper photographs, wood, metal and human figurines (sculptures). The 4 canvas paintings all display a theme of spaced out areas, as well as areas that are tightly packed with layered lines/dots of paint. The sculptures however, are built to appear tall and unstable for the human figurines that are placed standing close behind one another. In addition, the sculptures consist of angled/protruding photographs of city environments and metal bird cages. Across the six artworks, the tone and colours contrast through bright, warm tones, to cold and dark shades, possibly to convey both positive and negative aspects of urbanisation, and the reasoning (to find better jobs, education, etc) behind urbanisation. The artist explains the artworks are made to display the dangers of urbanisation and make references to disasters such as the fallen towers 9/11, Rana Plaza and Grenfell Tower. • 31. The Issue Of The United States ( U.s. ) I. Explanation of Issues What is the main problem/question at issue in this article? The main problem at issue in the article is that the United States (U.S.), as a country, are still largely employing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to measure the welfare of the nation although the welfare of a nation can scarcely be inferred from a measurement of national income. What are some of the subsidiary, embebbed, or implicit aspects of the problem, and what are their relationship to each other? There are also other aspects to the problem. These aspects include: (1) the Congress did not heed Simon Kuznets s warning about how little GDP is connected to welfare of the nation; (2) Americans only came to know more about limitations of the GDP in measuring their well being after Great Recession; and (3) there is the emergence of a suggestion to implement alternative measures that more accurately reflect the progress of human well being. These aspects are related to one another. The Congress s initial ignorance led to the eventual late discovery about how the GDP has its limits. This in turn led to the creation of or debate for other measures of welfare. This shows how the movement for alternative measures to human well being is being triggered. This would then introduce the idea of including more factors other than national income into the measurement of well being. For instance, according to Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI), the well being of individuals is comprised of economic, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
