Use Of Dark And Light In Macbeth
The tragedy of Macbeth tells a tale of a man s ambition for power and rise to it. Many scholars
consider Macbeth to be Shakespeare s darkest work. Shakespeare is known for his use of
imagery, similes, and metaphors in his work. Dark and light, a strong motif in the tragedy of
Macbeth, is often used not only in literature, but in everyday life to contrast good and evil. People
often associate darkness and dark things with evil and death, while the opposite applies to light.
Light is most often associated with good tidings, heaven, God, and life. In Macbeth, both dark and
light are both used as symbols and signs that something good or bad is about to happen. The use of
dark and light begins in Act 1 when King Duncan announces that Malcolm is the heir to his throne

Macbeth asked his wife, What is the night? and Lady Macbeth responds with Almost at odds
with morning, which is which. (3.4.125 126) The conversation between Macbeth and his wife
discuss the fight between day and night and that night is slowly but surely conquering the day.
Lady Macbeth say the two are at odds, which affirms the constant battles between good and evil.
This goes back to when Ross said that night was strangling the sun and that the evils of night are
taking over. By this time in the play, almost every character known to be good was either killed
or converted to the darkness. In Act 4, Duncan s son Malcolm returns and says, Angels are bright
still, though the brightest star fell (4.3.24). Malcolm compares Macbeth to Lucifer or Satan in this
line, because Macbeth was the King s top apprentice and was always loyal to him. The events that
have happened throughout the play show that, like Lucifer, Macbeth has fallen into the hands of
evil and turned away from his good and powerful leader. Malcolm says that the angels are still
bright, possibly because he still has hope that things can turn

Why Did The Big Bang Happen
Energy cannot be created or destroyed so how did the Universe or anything start. There is a
theory that is called the Big Bang. There is a lot of evidence the Big Bang exploding. There are a
lot of questions that have not been answered yet. Also there is a lot of the Universe that has not
been explored yet.
The most recent saying of the Big Bang is that it exploded. The Big Bang was a little dot
somewhere in the universe. In the middle of the dot there was a lot of heat. It was really hot that
the people that study the big bang say that it exploded because of the heat that was in the middle.
They are also saying that that space is what it is expanding. People who study the Big Bang say
that there is something out there in space that is making the universe expand but they do not know
what it is. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Universe is 13.8 billion years old. There is a lot of Galaxies we do not know about. This is
because they are so far away from our Galaxy that the light from it is taking a very long time to
get to us. The radio waves are getting very hard to hear because space is expanding.People who
study the Big Bang were trying to find the leftover energy that was left behind when the Big
Bang exploded. After a while of searching for it, they finally found it. It looks like and egg and
over the years that energy has cooled down. When they have barely found it, it was very hot.
In conclusion, for now we have to believe about the Big Bang. People who study the Big Bang
are trying to find something else in the Universe that can explain how the Universe started or how
space is still expanding today. The most recent saying is that the Universe exploded and that space

War causes Xenophobia. War is an armed conflict between more than two parties. Xenophobia is a
behavior that promotes fear or hatred against different cultures. Causal Mechanism War divides the
countries involved into two sides: us versus them. This division allows prejudice to permeate both
sides, creating racial slurs and stereotypes that define opposing sides. For example, characterizing
opponents as backwards or barbaric creates the idea that the opponents population is under
oppressive rule and require liberation. These slurs and stereotypes spill over to the population, who
might be influenced by propaganda to favor war. By constructing this narrative, it allows
individuals from both sides to conjure ideas against their enemies... Show more content on

Hostilities against other nations occur for many reasons including colonialism, differences in
culture and politics, bad policies, proximity, and immigration. That being said, it is evident
hostilities and xenophobia have existed before war. Colonialism has helped shape many of the
concepts of race in the modern world. The domination of one race over another race plants an idea
of racial superiority for both the colonizer and the colonized. The skewed power dynamic that
emerges from colonialism effectively creates ideas like xenophobia. Moreover, the colonizers by
imposing certain rules like establishing which faiths are practiced or imposing slavery foster
hostilities tow the colonized. The arrival of African slaves demonstrates how the colonizers viewed
slaves as barbaric and less human, which allowed to them argue slavery provided discipline and
humanity. The hatred against the different cultures of Africa, which colonizers attempted to change
with religion, proves how the xenophobia occurring in colonial America did not emerge from war.
These discriminatory statutes institutionalized discrimination, creating xenophobia against those

Abstract
The Italian opera was at an ultimate high during the romantic period. Many composers came to life
during this period and became some of the most prominent composers of all time. Giuseppe Verdi
who was grown up into the opera was about to find out what famous looked like. Over five
decades he demonstrated his commitment to drama and composed 28 operas and many were a
huge hit. Nabucco(1841) and Rigoletto(1851), a couple of the most famous operas by Verdi,
provide details of how the life of Verdi was like which made these operas such a hit. One goal is to

The entertainer at the focal point of Victor Hugo s play Le return on initial capital investment s
amuse was only the confounded, unordinary and abnormal character that Verdi was searching for at
the time. With a character delivered from a maturation of doubt, cunning, distrustfulness and
fatherly love, Verdi had a creation ready for the new sort of musical drama that he wanted most
importantly to make. To the psyche of an average nineteenth century devotee, Rigoletto s first solo
expression more likely than not appeared to be exceptionally interesting to be sure, as he would
without a doubt have expected right now a twofold aria or even an unadulterated recitative driving
us into the two part harmony with his little girl. Rigoletto s character is dealt with comparatively all
through the whole work. Subsequently, with every one of his defects, he seems to be a standout
amongst the most human characters in all nineteenth century Italian musical

Climate change induced coastal hazards in Australia: vulnerabilities, adaptation strategies in
development planning and adaptation cost in South Australia
Research question of Problem (100 words)
Climate change creates significant impacts in the Australian context: in considering sea level rise
is one of the most critical condition and as per the IPCC report, in 2100 it will increase by79
centimeters (Department of climate change, 2009). Further, it enhances natural hazards affect on
the coastal region as flood, inundation, erosion, and storm surges, which will be a significant threat
to the coastal community (Button et al.2013). In addition, sea level rise causes a significant change

Aristotelian Perspectives on Social Ethics Essay
Aristotelian Perspectives on Social Ethics
I examine the philosophical perspectives of Aristotle on issues of medical ethics and on his social
ethics in general, including the moral issues of abortion, euthanasia, and other issues of social
ethics such as the issue of cloning. I have chosen the domain of applied ethics as viewed from the
Aristotelian point of view precisely because certain issues have been virtually unexamined by
scholars. I shall direct attention to certain treatises of the Aristotelian corpus such as On the History
of Animals, On the Generation of Animals, On the Soul, The Nicomachean Ethics and The Politics.
My main objective is to provide a more systematic account of the Aristotelian perspectives on the

We learn about the Pythagorean views on marriage and procreation from Iamblichus (BII, 211
212) who indicates that a man should take the best of care for bringing a child into the world
considering both the time and the way this should happen. What is more important, however, is
to relate their views on procreation to their theory of the immortality of the soul. After death the
soul disappears like a dream and dwells in a spiritual heavenly world until it reappears cleansed in
a new birth. (2) The soul keeps only the fragmented happy moments of each of its cycles on an
earthly life and will conclude its dream in the heavenly world, which is interrupted by its visitations
(reincarnations) on earth. Thus, it is evident that for the Pythagoreans and, as result, the Hippocratic
tradition, abortion would be morally unacceptable, since it stops this journey of the soul the
incorporeal part of the human body towards its ultimate enlightenment, i.e. its relation to the divine.
After all, such cases of bloody events like abortions, were seen as possible sources of ritual
impurity. It is also noteworthy that such a view on abortion would relate to the conservative
approach to abortion according to which the fetus has full moral status which implies that its right
to life must be

Compare And Contrast Reptiles And Amphibians
Reptiles and amphibians are two species of animals. They have been around for millions of
years before we were even thrive. Amphibians were some of the first vertebrates to ever walk the
Earth. They evolved from a species of prehistoric fish. Reptiles began to appear million years
ago. They evolved directly from a species of amphibians. In other words, they are closely related
and have the same ancestor. Many amphibians and reptiles are similar, even a number of people
may still confuse several species of amphibians with reptiles and vice versa. For example, a
number of people still mistaken salamanders as reptiles. While salamanders have similar
appearance as lizards, a number of people still unaware that salamanders are not reptiles.
One of the common perceptions regarding reptiles and amphibians are their associations with
bodies of water. Both of these animal families are cold blooded animals; meaning that their body
temperature is the same as air and water around them. Reptiles and amphibians are mainly tropical
animals. They are the inhabitants of lakes, rivers and ponds, although a number of reptiles may be
sea and desert dwellers as well. Several species of reptiles and ... Show more content on

ones that made most of an impact was the tsunami warning lesson and the imbalances of outgoing

Worlds Beyond The Solar System
When we think of planets we do not often consider planets outside the friendly neighborhood of
our Solar System. Our universe is constantly expanding with billions of galaxies inside of it, and to
think all these galaxies hold nothing but stars is preposterous. If the planets in the Milky Way
revolve around the Sun, there must be other celestial bodies revolving around stars elsewhere in
space. Extrasolar planets, commonly called exoplanets, are planets that orbit stars outside the Solar
System, but what makes such exoplanets actual planets and not just free floating objects moving
through space? These celestial bodies must follow three requirements to be classified as planets,
stated by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) regarding the solar system, a planet must:
orbit a star, have enough mass so that the star s gravity pulls it into an elliptical orbit, and it must
be gravitationally dominant, so that no other bodies of similar size hold a gravitational influence
besides the planet s own satellites.
Now having known of exoplanets, what are they? How many are there? Say approximately one
star holds one exoplanet in its orbit, then multiply this by 300 billion stars per galaxy, and then
multiply this by the amount of galaxies in our universe; this is the expanse of the exoplanets we
are dealing with. The first discovery of a planet outside the

Prospective Payment System Essay
Prospective payment system is a method of reimbursement in which payment rates for healthcare
services are established in advance for a specific time period. These rates are based on the average
usage of resources for those certain types of healthcare. The prospective payment system puts the
liability on the healthcare organization because the cost of the healthcare procedure can be more
expensive than the average cost. Therefore, healthcare organizations need to be methodical with the
way the treat their patients, use as little resources for the best quality of care. There are many
prospective payment systems; there is inpatient, acute care, inpatient psychiatric facility, home
health, outpatient, long term care, rehabilitation, and nursing facilities. In addition to the different
prospective payment systems, diagnosis related groups monitor quality of care and the uses of
services in a hospital. Diagnosis related groups are an inpatient classification that categorizes

The Diagnostic And Statistical Manual Of Mental Disorders...
Numerous studies have been conducted on the diagnostic features and potential definitions of
autism, and the accompanying developmental, social and behavioral deficits found in individuals
diagnosed with autism. The various editions of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental

the DSM 5, which is the current edition of the DSM, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is the
name of the disorder that encompasses the diagnostic features and definitions of those three
neurodevelopmental disorders. Individuals previously diagnosed with any of those three disorders
are now to be given the diagnosis of ASD. The definition and diagnostic criteria of autism and
other neurodevelopmental disorders have changed so much over time because screening and
diagnosing autism is very difficult for a number of reasons, which will be more thoroughly

Analyzing Richard Branson Essay
For the purposes of our assignment I will attempt to put Richard Branson in a sort of box that he
would surely object to and would certainly pop out of like a jack in the box. The difficulty with
attempting to analyze the leadership style of Branson is that everything that has been written about
him prefaces his achievement with his larger than life personality. There s no denying that Branson
is fun and passionate, but he s also very bright and very hardworking. I think that if Branson took

and someone s passing on an idea in a drunken slur. Good ideas come from people everywhere,
not [only] in the boardroom. One might also argue that his extroversion is also well documented
from his hot air balloon rides to the very name he selected to represent his brand. A brand name
like Virgin demands recognition just for the name itself and I m sure in 1970 s England it drew
the attention. Virgin seems to have a knack for doing things in a sort of fun way no matter what
the product. When you think of Virgin Mobile, you think about how easy they made it for
anyone (everyone) to have cell service. Similarly, Virgin Atlantic seems to make travel for
anyone easier and a possibility by offering lower fares to many destinations. You imagine a
younger hip executive flying Virgin Atlantic, while a stodgier older executive would fly British
Airways. Even ventures that failed, such as Virgin Vodka, still conjure up the idea of fun. It s
become a way of life brand . In Good to Great, Collins discusses how Philip Morris found success
when it diversified away from tobaccos by staying close to sinful products such as coffee,
chocolates and beer. In a similar way, Virgin has branded its easy, fun, energetic way about doing
things. We even joked in class that a Virgin bank might be the fun bank to transact business.
Branson is not only passionate about the business that he at the helm of, but he also finds time

Relationship Between Father And Son
The function of a father might be a difficult assignment when raising a son. The suitable
relationship among father and son perhaps can be; the father sets the regulations and the son obeys
them respectfully. However it s quite hard to balance a healthy relationship between father and son,
because of what a father expects from his son. as an example inside the narratives, Death of a
Salesman, and Fences both Willie and Troy are fathers who have a hard time in earning admire
from their sons, and being a good role model for them. Between, Death of a Salesman, and Fences,
both protagonists, Willie and Troy both portray the role of a father in very exclusive ways; but in
times of trouble, Willie is the more empathetic one.
In evaluating Willie and Troy, as fathers, one person can feel more empathy in Willie for his
everlasting struggle to maintain a home. Willie is alone when it comes to making important
payments, due to the fact Willie s sons, Happy and Biff, cannot hold their jobs. It s obvious that
Biff can not hold a job, and has no longer made any money properly; consequently, Willies
struggle to make payments for the house has been hard. On the other hand, Troy, the protagonist in
the narrative, Fences also has the obligation of taking care of a home. However, in contrast to
Willie, Troy had assistance in paying for his home when he obtained a check from the government.
Troy obtained the check when his brother Gabriel, became injured at a war. That money has

Alusaf Hillside Project Essay
1. Is primary aluminum production an attractive industry? Why or why not?
I consider primary aluminum production is not an attractive industry because : a. The product is
identical (ie, aluminum), all the companies procure the same resources to make production with
same production line and process. The firms only differentiate in terms of controlling and
lowering the variable cost in order to make a profit as a price takers. Pricing is somehow fix in
global level as aluminum is openly traded in the financial market. b. Intensive rivalry and perfect

4. Given the above prediction, should Alusaf build the proposed Hillside smelter if the required
ROI (return of investments) per year is 10%? How about 15%? Is your recommendation sensitive to
any other assumption you made?
Projected Hillside s total cost (operating cost + capital investment)
Variable cost :($ per ton)
Power and alumina 41% of aluminum price Other raw material 143 Consumables 32 Freight 40
Fixed cost : Plant power and fuel 17 Maintenance 38 Labor 68 General and administrative 32
Capital cost :
$1.6 billion / 466 thousand tpy = $3,433 (cost of capital per ton of capacity)
If the required ROI per year at 10%, target price should be :
(41%)*P + (143+32+40) + (17+38+68+32) + (3433*10%) = P
P (41%)*P = 215 + 155 + 343
0.59P = 713
P = $1,208.47
If the required ROI per year at 15%, target price should be :
(41%)*P + (143+32+40) + (17+38+68+32) + (3433*15%) = P
P (41%)*P = 215 + 155 + 515
0.59P = 885
P = $1,500
Therefore to support Alusaf to build the proposed Hillside smelter, it must expect the future price
should be around $1208 (for ROI at 10%) or $1500 (for ROI at 15%) to justify the investment.
According to the CAGR, the growth rate of 2% in 5 years later resulted a projected demand at
20,384 thousand tpy with target price around $1,510. Therefore, it is a good investment for Alusaf to

A vision statement is often broad, future looking, and acts as a strategic guiding tool for an
organization to strive for ultimate satisfaction of stakeholders. However, a mission statement is
alternatively more focused, looking to gain buy in for strategic purposes and culture building, an

organizational goals align with both the mission and vision statement, helping them to easily
identify projects that are a good fit. Additionally, it is easier to unite a team when they are clear on

Sydney Harbour Research Paper
During the period of over two hundred years of white settlement in Australia, Sydneysiders have
occasionally been warned of the possibility of an invasion. It was in late may and early June in
1942, during the world war II, that Sydney harbour actually experienced an invasion or attack
from three Japanese Midget submarines. On the night of 29th may 1942, five Japanese
substantial submarines positioned themselves 56 kilometers north east of the entrance of Sydney
harbour. At 2.47am the following day one of the submarines I 29 launched a E14Y Glen float

Adolf Hitler Thesis
The man who has no sense of history, is like a man who has no ears or eyes (Adolf Hitler). Adolf
Hitler was a heroic figure to many people throughout Germany. He became a great successor in
Germany in both politics and war. His political victories led him into becoming dictator of
Germany. His anti semitic ways created a path to his extreme loyalty to the German Empire
although he was born in Austria. He is very influential to history even though he participated in evil
acts of crime.
If you want to shine like sun, first you have to burn like it. On April 20, 1889 in Braunau am Inn,
Austria, his match was sparked and Hitler was born. Adolf had both his mother and father

The First Attribute Of An Effective Teacher
The first attribute of an effective teacher is awareness. Teachers have to see that each child has a
specific thing they will need. As we learned in class sometimes a band aid doesn t cover it. In
middle school I had a drama teacher who was incredible. Towards the end of the school year I
was called the office for something. I was almost suspended for something I did not do. When I
came back to class she could tell I was visibly upset. She did not give a band aid, she gave me
hug. She took me out into the hall and ask me what happened. I explained the situation and she
believed because she was aware of my behavior in her class and elsewhere. In that moment though I
had no special educational needshe was aware that I needed a hug, some tissues and a break for
class that day.
The second attribute of an effective teacher is respect. The important thing about this, is that to
create a culture of learning the students and teachers must respect each other. The teacher has to
understand each home culture. The culture of the student practices at home whether that be similar
to their own or different. Each child has a different way of interacting with adults. In some cultures,
such as Chinese culture, looking down and not making eye contact actually means respect for
elders. In Deaf culture you don t beat around the bush, if you have something to say just say it.

Governesses Represented An Unusual Social Class Essay
Governesses represented an unusual social class in Victorian culture. They were often women
belonging to the middle class, however, they had a central role in the upbringing of upper class
children and the construction of Victorian education and ideals. Despite their significance within
the homes of wealthy families, many governesses were treated with suspicion and fear. This
paper, however, seeks to analyze several notable governess representations as well as to
understand how these various depictions (from homewrecker governess to asexual, unsexed
governess) were employed to construct, conceal, and obscure the classed sexuality of the
governesses. The governess in the painting Looking for the Mail Packet , Miss Prism in The
Importance of Being Earnest, Mrs. Vesey in The Woman in White, portray governesses as
superfluous to the home and neglectful of their charges, lacking in sexual desirability, and utterly
unsophisticated. Some governesses, including Miss Prism, are described as women who seek to
destabilize the Victorian home Г la prostitutes and other undesirable women. No matter the case,
the governess as a Victorian figure was often not painted in a positive light in these texts. It is
important to consider the implications such portrayals because they can illuminate for modern
readers the ways in which the Victorian erapoliced and proscribed sexuality. The governess and her
role matters because she represents the social policing of womanhood as well as the

The Scarlet Letter And The Making Of A Pearl

The Scarlet Letter and the Making of a Pearl
Every pearl begins as a dangerous and harsh intrusion into life. A piece of dirt is inserted into an
oyster s environment where it doesn t belong. The oyster can either respond by dying, or by
accepting and surrounding the sand with care. With continual care, the oyster turns the small speck
of dirt into a beautiful pearl. The Scarlet Letter is a story of how one woman takes a scandalous
event and rather than allowing the event to define her, she, by constant kindness, turns her life and
her child into something of worth. The theme I am focusing on in The Scarlet Letter is the person
and the concept which embodies courage and redemption.

The oyster must believe that it can survive the intrusion of the sand particle. Similarly, Hester
decides that after being socially shunned she would have to daily overcome the negative
statements from around her and the negative thoughts within her. Hester shows courage under all
the stigma when she entered the Governor s hall (Hawthorne 98). Even though people are
judgmental and cruel, she stays strong. This is a positive example of courage just as when an
oyster accepts and nurtures a piece of dirt. A negative example of courage is Dimmesdale and his
deceitful heart toward his sin. He is like the oyster that doesn t accept the piece of sand and dies
because of the intrusion. He hides the fact that he is also a guilty party in the sin and as a result,
he can t forgive himself and slowly withers away under the social pressure (Hawthorne 238).
The final example of courage is Pearl herself. She is symbolically the piece of sand. Being raised
under Hester s care, Pearl s nature is an embodiment that she is not wanted by her community
and only loved by her mother. Pearl shows great courage by not conforming to the expectations
of those around her. Yes, she is sometimes very demonic like (Hawthorne 126), but she is not a
coward like her father. She doesn t let society define her, she defines herself. Throughout the
process of turning a grit of sand into a pearl, the oyster must keep courage. Likewise, the theme of
courage is represented in the book as Hester grows

The VikingsAttacks And Invasion Of The Vikings
From approximately 793 1066 BC, large groups of Scandinavians left their homelands and set out
on raiding sprees and voyages of exploration all throughout the coastal sites of Britain, within
continental Europe, and throughout other islands. While the exact reasons for the Vikings raids
and explorations are unknown, many speculate that overpopulation in their homeland, their
knowledge of shipbuilding and navigation techniques, the desire for trade, the growing economy,
and internal conflicts of Europewere all key motivators. Further, while the Vikings are no longer a
live group of peoples, there are an abundance of long term effects still found within the lands they
settled.
Known as Scandinavians, seafaring warriors, Vikings, and Norsemen( Northmen ), this famous
group of raiders was not made up of a single race. Collectively, Vikings came from areas that are
now known as Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. In fact, the word Viking came from Scandinavians
themselves. The Old Norse word vik means bay or creek, and the word vikingr denotes pirate
(History.com Staff).
However variant the Vikings homelands were, they all shared a few common features that made the
Europeans fear them. First, they all came from a land that was foreign to those they raided. Worse,
they were not civilized in the same customs, and they were most definitely not Christians. The
harsh way in which the Vikings attacked the coastal monasteries of the British Isles and other
locations shocked the

Gabriel Rotello in his article Calling All Parents, underscores this need for parental love by
stating that almost all lesbian and gay teens go through a terrible, lonely stage when they feel
they have no one to turn to, not even their own family members sometimes especially not their
own family members. It s a phase that can leave lasting psychological damage even to the vast
majority who survive it (112). Gay children are at extremely high risk for anxiety, confusion,

the May 1999 issue of Archives of Pediatrics Adolescent Medicine, gay and lesbian youth were 3.4

Can the media play a part to alert parents of gay children to express their love and acceptance

the better off families with gay members will be.

Copper Iron Stoichiometry Lab Report Essay
Copper Iron Stoichiometry
Lab Report
10/3/12
Abstract:
The lab performed required the use of quantitative and analytical analysis along with limiting
reagent analysis. The reaction of Copper (II) Sulfate, CuSO4, mass of 7.0015g with 2.0095g Fe or
iron powder produced a solid precipitate of copper while the solution remained the blue color.
Through this the appropriate reaction had to be determined out of the two possibilities. Through the
use of a vacuum filtration system the mass of Cu was found to be 2.1726g which meant that
through limiting reagent analysis Fe was determined to be the limiting reagent and the chemical
reaction was determined to be as following:
CuSO4(aq) + Fe(s) Cu(s) + FeSO4(aq)

Interprofessional Care
Collaboration, within interprofessional teams, is fundamental in a maternity setting. The
framework of interprofessional care provides an avenue for women and their families, potentially
with complex needs, to receive holistic and individualised care (D Amour et al., 2009; The Royal
College of Midwives (RCM), 2014). RCM (2014) suggests that the responsibility of managing the
interprofessional relationships between specialist health care professionals, such as neonatologists,
belongs with the midwife. The reason for this is that the role of the midwife embodies the care of
women throughout their pregnancy, in order to create a level of continuity, in addition to
facilitating the client s primary care through the use of guidance and plans created... Show more

The incident occurred during an elective caesarean section, for a woman with type one diabetes
mellitus. Research has shown that maternal diabetes mellitus incurs an increased risk of neonatal
hypoglycaemia (Robson et al., 2014). In response to these findings, a neonatologist is required to be
present at the delivery of the fetus (Local Trust, 2015). Upon arrival of the neonatologist, a
thorough handover of the client s information, including past medical history, as well as neonatal
risk factors, was performed by the student. Following delivery, the infant was placed on the
resuscitaire and the initial neonatal assessment was completed by the neonatologist, as per Local
Trust policy (2016). The results of the assessment were satisfactory and no neonatal abnormalities
were identified; the neonatologist made the clinical decision to discharge the infant from the
neonatologists care. Within the subsequent ten minutes the infant s muscle tone and respiratory rate
reduced which prompted the student to transfer the infant back to the resuscitaire and raise the
alarm with the midwife, her mentor. The midwife proceeded to instruct the student to request a
neonatal emergency crash call broadcast. Once the neonatologist team arrived, they requested a
handover and glanced at the student, who at which point became flustered and unable to share the
necessary information, provoking the mentoring midwife to resume control of the situation. The
midwife was able to share the relevant information and subsequently aided the diagnosis of neonatal
hypoglycaemia. This was quickly treated and the infant was intubated and stabilised prior to being
transferred for further treatment and observation in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).
Subsequently, the student suffered a reduced level of

Assess Kamil s Writing Skills Essay
In order to assess Kamil s writing skills, I collected and analyzed a few writing pieces of various
types of writing. Kamil s style of writing and the tone differ depending on the type of composition,
which means that he is aware of the purpose and the potential audience when he writes. The graphic
aspect of writingindicates that Kamil has knowledge about forming the 26 letters of the English
alphabet. His writing is also legible and clear most of the time. Some pieces of Kamil s writing,
such as Feature Article , Oil Spilling , Minecraft , and How I came to America include a
thoughtful and interesting introduction as well as an effective and creative conclusion. In these
compositions, Kamil groups and organizes facts logically, he links the ideas together, using
transition words, e.g. After ten hours of doing stuff we finally got to America! Thereafter we went
througth the securite machines... Also, a variety of sentences is applied in these pieces. On the
other hand, a persuasive letter and an opinion piece, What would you rather do: find your way
through a corn maze or tour a haunted house? include a few confusing sentences and thoughts. The
introduction and closing are not precise, as they do not clearly state Kamil s personal opinion. For
example, in a persuasive letter to the principal of his school, Kamil states a few good reasons why
his school should not have air conditioning, he supports his arguments with some pieces of
evidence, and then, in closing

Staples was founded by two gentlemen, Tom Stemberg and Leo Kahn that were ready to start a

Technological Advancements Impact On Business Growth And...
Introduction
Technology has always played a major role in business growth and development. Its application has
risen at an unimaginable rate among enterprises. The resultant effect is that organizations
continuously experience innovation resulting from technological advances. The assimilation of
technology promotes modifications in organizational processes, tasks, and the nature of work. The
technology driven changes bring about an increase in the number of people using technological
devices such as computers to perform tasks. Technological advancements tremendously affect
employee s morale, nature of tasks, and impacts interactions among co workers. The managers of
technological changes need to play both the roles of implementers and technical developers. The
introduction of technology to an organization comes with a vast array of challenges to the
management.
Most of the changes in the marketplace are driven by technological advancements. Technological
innovations in the marketplace are categorized into two, namely: sustaining and disruptive
innovations. Innovations that do not significantly impact the existing markets are defined as
sustaining innovations. Disruptive innovations, on the other hand, are innovations that result into a
new market and value network. They disrupt existing markets and value networks. Whether
sustaining or disrupting, businesses are supposed to anticipate change and prepare in advance.
Appropriate action is required to deal with changing

Honor English 10 Essay
I am interested in taking Honors English 10 because, I thoroughly enjoy reading in my free time
and English is my favorite subject. I have a strong passion for writing and I would like to
continue my writing at a more rigorous level. Reading and writing are both very significant to
me and I believe Honors English 10 will help me explore both of these interests more in depth. I
find it important to be challenged and I would very much enjoy being a part of the Honors English
program. Knowing that the Honors program entails a heavier and harder workload, I would
manage this by completing assignments when assigned, rather than right before the due date. To
ensure a lack of procrastination, I would make sure to always record assignments in my

Example Of Research Synthesis Essay
Another possible drawback hindering this type of research is the fact that testing for LSD is not
as clear as testing for alcohol where results can quickly be obtained via a breathalyzer test.
Standard drug tests which screen for other recreational drugs such as marijuana, do not usually
test for lysergic acid, therefore it would be harder to determine whether a driver is under the
influence of the drug. When under the influence of the drug, the pupils do dilate, however
personal disparities in eye shape and size can distort the evidence and make it more difficult to
determine whether a person has taken LSD or simply has the genetic trait of having larger than
average pupils. Therefore, if a drug of these impeding characteristics were to... Show more content

Faye Carey Analysis
Do you see a problem in the world? Do you have the passion to change it? If you have heard the
term, teen activism, the definition of it is Youth activism is youth engagement in community
organizing for social change. There have been many times when people have wanted to change
the world (or, in other words, was an activist.) You may know Faye Carey or Bianca V. These
teenagers are activists who saw a problem that they could change and made huge differences.
Their cause was animal abandonment. In this text, you will see what they did to make a
difference outside their community, or even country. Faye Carey You have probably gone to a
pound with so many dogs waiting to be adopted, or seen stray animals left on the side of the
road. Faye saw this issue, and her compassion made her start looking into it deeper, and ended up
helping dogs way outside of her community. One of the most significant things that Faye Carey
did was she advertised many dogs, and many of them were adopted. In the article, Teenage Girl is
Dogs Best Friend, it emphasizes, Faye managed to re home over 60 dogs. This shows that the dogs

Examples Of Effective Scaffolding
In order for Janice to effectively teach her granddaughter how to bake, she must use effective
scaffolding by using Vygotsky s Proximal Zone of Development. The Proximal Zone of
development is the gap between a child s ability to solve a problem and [their] potential
knowledge. Scaffolding is The process of teaching new skills by entering a child s zone of
development and tailoring one s efforts to that person s competence level. Since her granddaughter
is only 5 years old, their motor skill abilities include printing their name, walking without holding
onto the railing, and tossing a ball overhand with bent elbows. Although it may seem like a 5 year
old can do a lot physically, cognitively they struggle. For example, at age 5, they understand

First, foster a secure attachment. This means building a positive and close relationship with the
child. Second, break larger cognitive challenge. This means breaking complex tasks into baby steps
so that it is achievable for the child to do. Third, give non threatening (but clear) feedback about
failure. For example, when a child does the task incorrectly, you want to correct them in a positive
manner. After they complete the task incorrectly, show show them what they did wrong and then
show them the correct way. This ensures that the child will learn in a positive manner. Fourth,
continue helping until the child has fully mastered the concept before moving on. This means don t
move onto the next step until the child has completely and fully understand the task given. Lastly,
set a framework for the learning task and build in motivation. The last scaffolding technique talks
about the teacher telling the child what the purpose and goal of this concept or activity. These five
following techniques are great ways to effectively scaffold, allowing the child to fully learn/master
the new task they are given (Belsky,

Photo Ethnography
My photo ethnography is based off my experience at a church in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The
name of it is Saint Luke Church of God in Christ. Saint Luke is pastored by Elder Earl Shannon,
is located in the beautiful city of Olive Branch, Mississippi. They offer a big selection of
ministries designed to meet the needs of families in the Olive Branch area. Saint Luke is also
nicknamed, The Ark of the Community . Saint Luke has a long history dating back to 1925. In
1925 Charles and Millississ Shannon established Saint Luke Church of Godin Christ. Saint Luke
started out with just about twelve members. Back then each church service was held in the homes
of the members. Saint Luke s first pastor was Elder Bonner. Elder Bonner was succeeded... Show

Perhaps it was because I m Catholic and not Pentecostal. Everyone in the sanctuary was moving
around and socializing. Members of the church walked to the front of the altar and praised by
the means of the Holy Spirit. It was a lot the different than my church but it was really a great
experience. The members of the church raise their hands, kneel to god, and speak in tongues.
Speaking in tongues simply means speaking to God in a way that they don t understand
themselves because the Holy Spirit fills their body. Another thing that was different about this
church was the choir. Their choir was amazing and every selection they sung made me feel good
inside. I got chills from some of the notes they hit. This church was very prompt and orderly. It
started with a prayer from one of the Deacons of the church. The deacon openly asked the
congregation for prayer requests and testimonies. One young lady gave a testimony about how
she wanted to thank God for letting her see another day and healing her from cancer. It was also
a special service honoring the Olive Branch Police Department. I ve never seen anything like that
during a church service, it was really amazing and touching. Another thing they did that was
uncommon to me was an altar call. Towards the end of the service Elder Shannon called for an
altar call. Altar call is when the members of the church go up to the altar for prayer.

Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters whatever name we give it, what matters is to
leave in the past the moments of life that have finished. Did you lose your job? Has a loving
relationship come to an end? Did you leave your parents house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long
lasting friendship ended all of a sudden? You can spend a long time wondering why this has
happened. You can tell yourself you won t take another step until you find out why certain
things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that. But
such an attitude will be awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or
wife, your friends, your children, your sister. Everyone is finishing chapters, turning over new
leaves, getting on with life, and they will all feel bad seeing you at a standstill. Things pass, and
the best we can do is to let them really go away. That is why it is so important (however painful
it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the
books you have at home. Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world,
of what is going on in our hearts and getting rid of certain memories also means making some
room for other memories to take their place. Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from
them. Nobody plays this life

  • 2. Use Of Dark And Light In Macbeth The tragedy of Macbeth tells a tale of a man s ambition for power and rise to it. Many scholars consider Macbeth to be Shakespeare s darkest work. Shakespeare is known for his use of imagery, similes, and metaphors in his work. Dark and light, a strong motif in the tragedy of Macbeth, is often used not only in literature, but in everyday life to contrast good and evil. People often associate darkness and dark things with evil and death, while the opposite applies to light. Light is most often associated with good tidings, heaven, God, and life. In Macbeth, both dark and light are both used as symbols and signs that something good or bad is about to happen. The use of dark and light begins in Act 1 when King Duncan announces that Malcolm is the heir to his throne and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Macbeth asked his wife, What is the night? and Lady Macbeth responds with Almost at odds with morning, which is which. (3.4.125 126) The conversation between Macbeth and his wife discuss the fight between day and night and that night is slowly but surely conquering the day. Lady Macbeth say the two are at odds, which affirms the constant battles between good and evil. This goes back to when Ross said that night was strangling the sun and that the evils of night are taking over. By this time in the play, almost every character known to be good was either killed or converted to the darkness. In Act 4, Duncan s son Malcolm returns and says, Angels are bright still, though the brightest star fell (4.3.24). Malcolm compares Macbeth to Lucifer or Satan in this line, because Macbeth was the King s top apprentice and was always loyal to him. The events that have happened throughout the play show that, like Lucifer, Macbeth has fallen into the hands of evil and turned away from his good and powerful leader. Malcolm says that the angels are still bright, possibly because he still has hope that things can turn ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is a lot of evidence the Big Bang exploding. There are a lot of questions that have not been answered yet. Also there is a lot of the Universe that has not been explored yet. The most recent saying of the Big Bang is that it exploded. The Big Bang was a little dot somewhere in the universe. In the middle of the dot there was a lot of heat. It was really hot that the people that study the big bang say that it exploded because of the heat that was in the middle. They are also saying that that space is what it is expanding. The Universe is 13.8 billion years old. There is a lot of Galaxies we do not know about. This is because they are so far away from our Galaxy that the light from it is taking a very long time to get to us. The radio waves are getting very hard to hear because space is expanding.People who study the Big Bang were trying to find the leftover energy that was left behind when the Big Bang exploded. After a while of searching for it, they finally found it. It looks like and egg and over the years that energy has cooled down. When they have barely found it, it was very hot. • 4. Korematsu V. United States War causes Xenophobia. War is an armed conflict between more than two parties. Xenophobia is a behavior that promotes fear or hatred against different cultures. Causal Mechanism War divides the countries involved into two sides: us versus them. This division allows prejudice to permeate both sides, creating racial slurs and stereotypes that define opposing sides. For example, characterizing opponents as backwards or barbaric creates the idea that the opponents population is under oppressive rule and require liberation. These slurs and stereotypes spill over to the population, who might be influenced by propaganda to favor war. By constructing this narrative, it allows individuals from both sides to conjure ideas against their enemies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hostilities against other nations occur for many reasons including colonialism, differences in culture and politics, bad policies, proximity, and immigration. That being said, it is evident hostilities and xenophobia have existed before war. Colonialism has helped shape many of the concepts of race in the modern world. The domination of one race over another race plants an idea of racial superiority for both the colonizer and the colonized. The skewed power dynamic that emerges from colonialism effectively creates ideas like xenophobia. Moreover, the colonizers by imposing certain rules like establishing which faiths are practiced or imposing slavery foster hostilities tow the colonized. The arrival of African slaves demonstrates how the colonizers viewed slaves as barbaric and less human, which allowed to them argue slavery provided discipline and humanity. The hatred against the different cultures of Africa, which colonizers attempted to change with religion, proves how the xenophobia occurring in colonial America did not emerge from war. These discriminatory statutes institutionalized discrimination, creating xenophobia against those were different and did not resemble the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The entertainer at the focal point of Victor Hugo s play Le return on initial capital investment s amuse was only the confounded, unordinary and abnormal character that Verdi was searching for at the time. With a character delivered from a maturation of doubt, cunning, distrustfulness and fatherly love, Verdi had a creation ready for the new sort of musical drama that he wanted most importantly to make. To the psyche of an average nineteenth century devotee, Rigoletto s first solo expression more likely than not appeared to be exceptionally interesting to be sure, as he would without a doubt have expected right now a twofold aria or even an unadulterated recitative driving us into the two part harmony with his little girl. I have chosen the domain of applied ethics as viewed from the Aristotelian point of view precisely because certain issues have been virtually unexamined by scholars. I shall direct attention to certain treatises of the Aristotelian corpus such as On the History of Animals, On the Generation of Animals, On the Soul, The Nicomachean Ethics and The Politics. We learn about the Pythagorean views on marriage and procreation from Iamblichus (BII, 211 212) who indicates that a man should take the best of care for bringing a child into the world considering both the time and the way this should happen. What is more important, however, is to relate their views on procreation to their theory of the immortality of the soul. After death the soul disappears like a dream and dwells in a spiritual heavenly world until it reappears cleansed in a new birth. (2) The soul keeps only the fragmented happy moments of each of its cycles on an earthly life and will conclude its dream in the heavenly world, which is interrupted by its visitations (reincarnations) on earth. Thus, it is evident that for the Pythagoreans and, as result, the Hippocratic tradition, abortion would be morally unacceptable, since it stops this journey of the soul the incorporeal part of the human body towards its ultimate enlightenment, i.e. its relation to the divine. After all, such cases of bloody events like abortions, were seen as possible sources of ritual impurity. It is also noteworthy that such a view on abortion would relate to the conservative approach to abortion according to which the fetus has full moral status which implies that its right to life must be ... • 15. Worlds Beyond The Solar System Worlds Beyond The Solar System Anisa Noor October 21st 2014 SES4U Mr. Humpartzoomian Worlds Beyond The Solar System When we think of planets we do not often consider planets outside the friendly neighborhood of our Solar System. Our universe is constantly expanding with billions of galaxies inside of it, and to think all these galaxies hold nothing but stars is preposterous. If the planets in the Milky Way revolve around the Sun, there must be other celestial bodies revolving around stars elsewhere in space. Extrasolar planets, commonly called exoplanets, are planets that orbit stars outside the Solar System, but what makes such exoplanets actual planets and not just free floating objects moving through space? These celestial bodies must follow three requirements to be classified as planets, stated by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) regarding the solar system, a planet must: orbit a star, have enough mass so that the star s gravity pulls it into an elliptical orbit, and it must be gravitationally dominant, so that no other bodies of similar size hold a gravitational influence besides the planet s own satellites. Now having known of exoplanets, what are they? How many are there? Say approximately one star holds one exoplanet in its orbit, then multiply this by 300 billion stars per galaxy, and then multiply this by the amount of galaxies in our universe; this is the expanse of the exoplanets we are dealing with. The first discovery of a planet outside the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These rates are based on the average usage of resources for those certain types of healthcare. The prospective payment system puts the liability on the healthcare organization because the cost of the healthcare procedure can be more expensive than the average cost. Analyzing Richard Branson Essay For the purposes of our assignment I will attempt to put Richard Branson in a sort of box that he would surely object to and would certainly pop out of like a jack in the box. The difficulty with attempting to analyze the leadership style of Branson is that everything that has been written about him prefaces his achievement with his larger than life personality. There s no denying that Branson is fun and passionate, but he s also very bright and very hardworking. One might also argue that his extroversion is also well documented from his hot air balloon rides to the very name he selected to represent his brand. A brand name like Virgin demands recognition just for the name itself and I m sure in 1970 s England it drew the attention. Virgin seems to have a knack for doing things in a sort of fun way no matter what the product. When you think of Virgin Mobile, you think about how easy they made it for anyone (everyone) to have cell service. Similarly, Virgin Atlantic seems to make travel for anyone easier and a possibility by offering lower fares to many destinations. You imagine a younger hip executive flying Virgin Atlantic, while a stodgier older executive would fly British Airways. Even ventures that failed, such as Virgin Vodka, still conjure up the idea of fun. It s become a way of life brand . In Good to Great, Collins discusses how Philip Morris found success when it diversified away from tobaccos by staying close to sinful products such as coffee, chocolates and beer. In a similar way, Virgin has branded its easy, fun, energetic way about doing things. We even joked in class that a Virgin bank might be the fun bank to transact business. As we learned in class sometimes a band aid doesn t cover it. In middle school I had a drama teacher who was incredible. Towards the end of the school year I was called the office for something. I was almost suspended for something I did not do. When I came back to class she could tell I was visibly upset. She did not give a band aid, she gave me hug. She took me out into the hall and ask me what happened. I explained the situation and she believed because she was aware of my behavior in her class and elsewhere. They were often women belonging to the middle class, however, they had a central role in the upbringing of upper class children and the construction of Victorian education and ideals. Despite their significance within the homes of wealthy families, many governesses were treated with suspicion and fear. This paper, however, seeks to analyze several notable governess representations as well as to understand how these various depictions (from homewrecker governess to asexual, unsexed governess) were employed to construct, conceal, and obscure the classed sexuality of the governesses. The governess in the painting Looking for the Mail Packet , Miss Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest, Mrs. Vesey in The Woman in White, portray governesses as superfluous to the home and neglectful of their charges, lacking in sexual desirability, and utterly unsophisticated. Some governesses, including Miss Prism, are described as women who seek to destabilize the Victorian home Г la prostitutes and other undesirable women. No matter the case, the governess as a Victorian figure was often not painted in a positive light in these texts. Similarly, Hester decides that after being socially shunned she would have to daily overcome the negative statements from around her and the negative thoughts within her. Hester shows courage under all the stigma when she entered the Governor s hall (Hawthorne 98). Even though people are judgmental and cruel, she stays strong. This is a positive example of courage just as when an oyster accepts and nurtures a piece of dirt. A negative example of courage is Dimmesdale and his deceitful heart toward his sin. He is like the oyster that doesn t accept the piece of sand and dies because of the intrusion. He hides the fact that he is also a guilty party in the sin and as a result, he can t forgive himself and slowly withers away under the social pressure (Hawthorne 238). The final example of courage is Pearl herself. She is symbolically the piece of sand. Being raised under Hester s care, Pearl s nature is an embodiment that she is not wanted by her community and only loved by her mother. Pearl shows great courage by not conforming to the expectations of those around her. Yes, she is sometimes very demonic like (Hawthorne 126), but she is not a coward like her father. She doesn t let society define her, she defines herself. Throughout the process of turning a grit of sand into a pearl, the oyster must keep courage. Likewise, the theme of courage is represented in the book as Hester grows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The VikingsAttacks And Invasion Of The Vikings From approximately 793 1066 BC, large groups of Scandinavians left their homelands and set out on raiding sprees and voyages of exploration all throughout the coastal sites of Britain, within continental Europe, and throughout other islands. While the exact reasons for the Vikings raids and explorations are unknown, many speculate that overpopulation in their homeland, their knowledge of shipbuilding and navigation techniques, the desire for trade, the growing economy, and internal conflicts of Europewere all key motivators. Further, while the Vikings are no longer a live group of peoples, there are an abundance of long term effects still found within the lands they settled. Known as Scandinavians, seafaring warriors, Vikings, and Norsemen( Northmen ), this famous group of raiders was not made up of a single race. Collectively, Vikings came from areas that are now known as Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. In fact, the word Viking came from Scandinavians themselves. The Old Norse word vik means bay or creek, and the word vikingr denotes pirate (History.com Staff). However variant the Vikings homelands were, they all shared a few common features that made the Europeans fear them. First, they all came from a land that was foreign to those they raided. Worse, they were not civilized in the same customs, and they were most definitely not Christians. Upon arrival of the neonatologist, a thorough handover of the client s information, including past medical history, as well as neonatal risk factors, was performed by the student. Following delivery, the infant was placed on the resuscitaire and the initial neonatal assessment was completed by the neonatologist, as per Local Trust policy (2016). The results of the assessment were satisfactory and no neonatal abnormalities were identified; the neonatologist made the clinical decision to discharge the infant from the neonatologists care. Within the subsequent ten minutes the infant s muscle tone and respiratory rate reduced which prompted the student to transfer the infant back to the resuscitaire and raise the alarm with the midwife, her mentor. The midwife proceeded to instruct the student to request a neonatal emergency crash call broadcast. Once the neonatologist team arrived, they requested a handover and glanced at the student, who at which point became flustered and unable to share the necessary information, provoking the mentoring midwife to resume control of the situation. The midwife was able to share the relevant information and subsequently aided the diagnosis of neonatal hypoglycaemia. This was quickly treated and the infant was intubated and stabilised prior to being transferred for further treatment and observation in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).
