Soundscan Essay
The Significance of Soundscan
Historical Background After the World War II ended, the enormous population of new generation who
were given birth during the war era became majority of the world. In that regard, most industries
smoothly switched the aim to the new customers. For example, music industry, one of the most
sensitive industries, rapidly aligned line of sight to the newly born customers. While the previous era
which was about to cross the border of Post Romanticism era was more focused on art music or the
purpose of encouraging patriotism, the post war era music was more focused on practical profits. As
such, the new generation was targeted. The result of that, pop music culture was emerged. As the scale

Billboard which is the most influential music magazine of 21st century was originally a town
magazine which connected bill board owners and advertisers. In Pre war and Post war era, the
magazine, Billboard had been conducting introducing brand new entertainment news. It is said that the
first chart of popular music was posted on January 4th, 1936. The way it measured the chart in that era
is said that the magazine s workers counted all the music play frequency from radio, juke boxes and
selling amount of retail stores. On March 1st, 1991, when the internet was gradually generalized, and
the method for listening to music had moved from CD to the internet down loading, Billboard
constructed the new music play data accumulating system which was named as Nielson Sound Scan.
From this point, Billboard started accumulating the music play data on the Internet, and reflected that
on the chart.
Principal of a market, in music industry Markets, in general, there has always been intense
competition between multiple companies in every industry. To survive from the battle, companies
must always deal with their clients or customers changeable needs. However, sadly, many companies
fail to analyze the time s customer needs, and the result of that, they die out from the nature of
competitive industry. Although it seems brutal, however, it has been the key element which enables
companies to grow up, and the technology to be developed. Music

Similarities Between Arrow And The Flash
Has there ever been a point in your life that you wished you could be a superhero or superhuman?
Most, if not all, people s answer to that question would be a resounding yes, including mine. Over the
years, more TV shows and movies have begun to incorporate what we would consider to be our heroes
into them. These shows, or movies, consist of a hero, or heroes, that are typically aided by friends and
a team that help them fight evil; two examples of this are Arrow and The Flash. Hero shows, or
movies, can be a quite broad category, but it can be broken into smaller categories like superhuman
heroes, mortal heroes, dark heroes, or otherworldly heroes. The Flash is a superhuman hero while
Green Arrow is a mortal, but dark hero. The two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Oliver vows that every person on his father s list will wish he too had died on that island. Similar to
the first episode of Arrow, The Flash has it s first episode named Pilot as well. It begins with a
flashback to when Barry Allen s, the main character, mom is killed in an unexplainable event and his
dad is convicted of her murder... which Barry believes to be untrue. Now, 14 years later, Barry works
for Central City C.S.I and is quite good at his job. On one particular night a particle accelerator,
created by Harrison Wells and was supposed to change the way everyone thought about physics,
exploded releasing an unimaginable amount of dark energy. Lightning then struck Barry, which put
him in a coma for nine months. After waking up, Barry began to notice certain things were slowing
down... or so he thought. In reality, he was just moving unexplainably fast. When a man named Clyde
Martin that can inexplicably control the weather starts terrorizing the city, Barry takes it upon himself
to take him down. He speaks with Oliver Queen for advice, Barry knows Oliver is the Arrow, and
Oliver tells him that he can inspire people the way he himself never could. Barry then takes on Clyde
Martin head on and defeats him. The storylines between the two shows are similar because they both
begin by showing what made the two heroes and what made them who they are stemmed from former
accidents.

Essay on Arnold Schoenberg s Musical Influence
Arnold Schoenberg s Musical Influence
Arnold Schoenberg was one of the greatest musical influences of the mid 20th Century. He was born
on September 13, 1874, to a Jewish family in Vienna, Austria (Schoenberg 1). Schoenberg was a
young Jewish man during World War I (WWI) living in Berlin. He was directly affected by the
invasion of the Nazis. In 1933, he had to leave Berlin and desert his faith for Lutheranism later on
taking on the faith of Judaism. At the early age of eight, he began violin lessons and almost
immediately started composing music (Schoenberg 1). He was self taught until the age of 10 when he
began formal training (Schoenberg 1). He earned a living by orchestrating operettas, directing a
cabaret orchestra, and teaching. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1920, Schoenberg formulated his twelve tone technique which can be heard in his one movement
Piano Concerto. One of the warmest and richest harmonies Schoenberg created was The Chamber
Symphony No. 2 (1939) which had late Romanticism harmonies with neo classic spirit (Schoenberg
1). Through Schoenberg and his students, the twelve tone method became a dominating force in the
mid 20th century composition and strongly influenced the course of western music. Schoenberg made
a radical break in music with his un orthodox pitch combinations and his unique rhythms. Schoenberg
stated: Whether one calls oneself conservative or revolutionary, whether one composes in a
conventional or progressive manner, whether one tries to imitate old styles or is destined to express
new ideas one must be convinced of the infallibility of one s own fantasy and one must believe in one
s own inspiration. The desire for a conscious control of the new means and forms will arise in every
artist s mind; and he will wish to follow consciously the laws and rules that govern the forms he has
conceived as in a dream (Norton 1).
Schoenberg was not only a musician but also a writer and painter. This variety of talent allowed him to
construct a larger audience. As a musician he only reached those who loved music. With his other
talents he was able to attract art lovers and readers. This allows various vehicles of passing on

fact, most people unconsciously text while in class, driving, and talking to a person. The proliferation
of mobile phone and its enormous use to text has given rise to a lot of questioning whether abusing it

Descriptive Essay On Basketball Team
Basketball Team One day my mom told me that I was on the Upward Basketball Team, a church
league for basketball. I was furious because I did not like basketball at all, but my mom loved
basketball, which is why she wanted me to play on the team.
I am not playing on the basketball team! I exclaimed.
Give it a chance. my mom pleaded.
No, I don t want to! Please don t make me do this, I begged as I banged my hand on the counter of our
island.
Please, give it a chance and then if you still don t like it, you don t have to do it. Ok?
Fine, I shouted and I started stomping up to my room.
Wait, your first game is on Saturday, she added.
Is there practice before the game?
Yes, but you are going to miss it because of gymnastics practice.
UGH, I groaned. So the rest of the night, I was stressing out over the first game because I had never
played basketball before. I didn t get to practice with my team. I don t even know my coach or
teammates. Why did my mom have to sign me up for basketball without even asking me?
My stomach was in knots. My heart was pounding. It was 30 minutes before my first basketball game
ever. My mom and I had arrived at the arena. It looked like it was just built with shiny red paint
everywhere except on the doors. The double doors were a dull brown color. As I walked in, I was so
overwhelmed. The building was not only enormous but also packed with tons of people. Over all of
the people, I thought that I recognized one of them. There

Patrick Come To Me Analysis
This is one of the biggest themes in this novel. Because there are so many immigrants to Canada
during the time of the novel (1913 1940), North America is still without language, gestures and work
and bloodlines are the only currency. The novel explores different forms of language besides words.
Patrick comes to live in a Macedonian immigrant community in Toronto; even though he is a native
Canadian, he is isolated by language in his own country. But he learns to relate to those around him,
and at a moment when he is in the Teck Cinema watching a silent film and laughing out loud, he looks
up and catches the eye of someone else laughing, and they have the same realization that this mutual
laughter is conversation. And before this, when

Lovers From The Lais Of Marie De France As A Children s Book
Kerstin Oxford
HP 1020: Paper 3
Chevrefoil Adapted Imagine a story of lovers from The Lais of Marie de France as a children s book.
It would show the events true love can overcome, and inevitably end in a happy ending. The stories
would have to be adapted in such a way to where all the details were appropriate for a child. It must be
wrote to where the story would not be over their head, so they could fully understand the story. My
adaption of Chevrefoil from The Lais of Marie de France into a children s book would essentially fall
into the same category as the stories about love between a prince and a princess. Children love the
type of stories where two people fall in love and are able to be together. Since the original Lai is fairly
short it would allow most of the details to be included, without running a story that s too long for a
child s attention span. The book would be appropriately illustrated, filling it with entertaining pictures
that children would love. The adaption would be called Love and Honeysuckles, as it s short and
catchy, and honeysuckles is a word that children may think is silly especially combined with love,
which would have them somewhat intrigued before starting the book. Children when inclined learn
many lessons from the books they read. A lot of older literature is already referenced in children books
today; this is where a lot of us have gained a basic knowledge of history or previous literature. This
adaption is needed for just this

California, Etta James, or as a young child known as Jamesetta Hawkins, was born January 25th, 1938

she lost touch with the safe lifestyle Mama had built for her. Being some what of a local celebrity,
singers who would come to L.A. began to enter her life, and in a nut shell, she grew up much quicker
than her time. Dorothy, still coming in and out of her life, stopped causing her fear, but curiosity. The

themselves in her life, the more curious she got for this lifestyle that Dorothy had, which was wildly
similar to that of those in the industry. ...she lead this mysterious nightlife that, to me, seemed fearless

together in my mind (p.14). She suddenly would want to stay with her mother on her wild nights, and
do things like her and observe the behavior. She tried to please her mother in that way, though she
never could. Her mother never bat an eyelash in her direction. She dropped out of school and started
to hit the road with other singers, playing small town gigs, getting her name out there. At fifteen, she
met Johnny Otis, who took her in, discovered her and started to put her name in lights. But with a

Electoral College Flaws
Do you feel the Electoral system best represents everyone in the US? The United States have using the
Electoral College for over 220 years! There have definitely been changes since the first president. The
Electoral have many flaws and i m here to inform you about the flaws about the way we elect our
president. I am going to tell you my two biggest flaws that need to be changed. The Electoral College
does not represent the people in the best possible way, considering the state s vote represents the
majority of the state, not the individual people, which is ideal. The second reason why the Electoral
College does not best represent the people is because the smaller populated states don t have an even
say compared to the larger states.
The Electoral College represent the people because the states vote represents the majority of the state,
but not all of the people. In CT, 54% voted for Hillary and 41% voted for Trump. CT final vote was
Hillary so those 668,000/41% of the people don t get represented at all. ( 2016 Election ). For those
people, their vote does not mean anything to the outcome of the president. That means that this year,
41% of CT s votes did not go toward voting for the new president. Hillary Clinton has 2.7 million

The other reason why Electoral College can t best represent the people is because only majority of the
state s votes count, but the rest are not important or used. This is very important because the smaller
states do not really get a say in government while the larger states are in control. Although most
people s vote count toward the state s votes same do not. I think it s a big problem that not everyone is
getting represented and that needs to change. Everyone should have an equal say in who they want to
be president and the Electoral College System needs to change for the better of the

A CLEP test I could take is Psychology I, was researching about it and most people say it was easy.
Granted that you should listen to a couple of classes and study hard to pass it, most people say that it
isn t that hard if you do things to prepare you for the test. This is probably the only one because the
other tests are hard and I need to pay attention in class. You need 50 percent to pass the CLEP test and
that doesn t seem that difficult. This would save some money and I think I can do it. There are some
other CLEP test that I think I can do the test, but I am not for sure, for example like general chemistry

but it would have been a good challenge. I haven t taken any college DMACC classes

Sexualisation Of Teenage Girls
Following the exploration of the sexualisation of culture in the previous chapter, The current chapter
takes the sexualisation of culture as a broad context for its interrogation of contemporary sexualisation
claims about pre teen girls. It focuses on key theoretical conceptualisations of the sexualisation of
girls. In particular to discourses which construct the sexualisation of girls as moral panic as it has been
conceptualised and vehemently circulated within mainstream and academic literature. This chapter
explores the taken for grantednees of the sexualisation of girls discourse knowledge by deconstructing
classist ideals about childhood and the historically problematic pairing of girls and sexuality. Further it

Investigating The Role Of Scientific Knowledge On A Crime...
Conducting a successful investigation is relatively important in solving a case. Through each of the
components of the investigation, the tasks may vary; however, the end goal is moderately similar.
Once a report has been made, the investigation has begun. Investigators take it upon themselves and
their team to interact with the crime scene they see best fit. Crime scenes can accompany any given
setting, terrain, and/or location. Therefore, there is an importance in how investigators conduct their
investigation. The use of scientific knowledge solely applies to forensic investigators which is fairly
important in a crime scene examination. According to Criminalistics, forensic science is the
application of science to the criminal and civil laws that are enforced by the police agencies in a
criminal justice system . Applying scientific knowledge to a crime scene allows the investigator to
have a greater understanding of the events that have occurred. However, forensic investigators can
only perform their job well through a standard of properly recovered and preserved evidence.
The preservation of evidence at the crime scene is often the focus of the case. Through evidence, a
connection can be made to link certain suspects to a crime. Locard exchange principle suggests when
a criminal comes in contact with an object or person, a cross transfer of evidence occurs. Evidently,
the preservation of evidence begins with the first responding officer. First responding officers

Dr Pio Research Paper
Padre Pio was born in Italy on May 25, 1887. His family was very poor but taught him great values of
life. At a young age, Padre Pio proved he was devoted to God. At the age of five, he dedicated his life
to God. From early in his childhood, he showed a tremendous recollection of spirit and a love for
religious life around him. He was once described as a young boy who loved to go to church and to
pray. He was able to see and communicate with his guardian angel, Jesus, and the Virgin Mary. In his
simplicity, Francesco assumed everyone had the same experiences. When he was fifteen years old, he
was admitted to the novitiate of the Capuchin Order of the Friars Minor in Morcone, Italy. On August

death. The influence he had been among the church would be enough for most, but Padre Pio thought
he could do more. His prayer life was maybe the greatest of all saints. His day began at 2:30 a.m.
when he would begin his prayers and prepare for Mass. Between Mass and confessions, his workday

How Canada Remained Independent of Foreign Control but...
How successful Canada was on remaining independent of foreign control, whilst being a part of
international decision making.
Canada remained independent of foreign control a majority of the time, but at others it did give in to
the pressure put upon it. Canada also got to be a big part of the decision making because it put itself
out there, got recognized as a middle power and proved its worth.
Some of the ways Canada remained independent of foreign control are: When president Reagan s
administration had a project they were trying to get Canada involved in called the Strategic Defence
Initiative (SDI, but also referred to as Star Wars). This was a plan to arm satellites that could destroy
soviet missiles from space. Not many people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When NORAD was put in place during 1985 many Canadians were angered because they felt it
threatened Canadian independence and since the soviet missiles would be intercepted and destroyed

Canada has maintained its commitment to NORAD. Canada and Americas economies are very alike,
to this day.
In 1945 when the UN was officially founded, Canada argues to be made a middle power, meaning
they would get recognition for being capable of holding their own, and the contribution they made
during World War II. Canada is very well known for their participation in every UN peacekeeping
operation. Lester B. Pearson even won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1957. When Egypt nationalized the
Suez Canal, Britain, France and Israel made a secret pact to invade Egypt. Israel attacked Egypt while
Britain and France took over the Canal. The situation grew tense when many countries denounced the
invasion. Lester B. Pearson proposed to the UN that Britain, France and Israel withdraw their troops
and the UN send a peacekeeping army into Egypt. His proposal was accepted. Canada also adapted a
new flag, which in a way was to show they had completely detached themselves from Britain. In 1949
Canada had signed the NATO treaty. That was the first time Canada had signed a military

When dry ice is placed in water a thick, white fog forms. Being so easy to generate, this phenomenon
is often used to captivate and enthrall children and bring awareness to the world of chemistry. The
source of the white fog comes from the water it s been placed in, however, the mechanism of what s
happening at the molecular level is widely left untaught (Kuntzleman, et. al. 643).
An experiment meant to measure the density of the white fog is set up using a 500ml round bottom

Description And Function Of Mutagenesis
Site directed mutagenesis is a method used to construct amino acid changes in a protein in order to test
the function of a specific amino acid. It is the way to study protein structure and function change the
amino acid sequence of a protein by altering the DNA sequence of cloned gene4. A particular amino
acid is very important in catalytic activity, ligand binding, protein folding or other function. Amino
acid residue significance is tested by making conservative substitutions or by changing the amino acid
to either alanine or glycine. Site directed mutagenesis is also used to construct compensatory
mutations, which are used to show the importance of specific interactions by making changes in both
interacting partners. Each change individual destroy the interaction and combination of changes
restores the interaction. These type of experiments are typically between two protein or between
protein and nucleic acid. Used site directed mutagenesis to investigate the interaction between hPol k
and DNA1.
DNA polymerase kappa is a Y family polymerase that use to bypass the damage DNA as translesion
synthesis polymerase. In prostate cancer has reported that it has higher frequency of mutation in DNA
polymerase kappa. 28% of patients have somatic mutations in POLK gene of prostate tumor and
dominated by C to T transition2.
Approximately 30,000 DNA lesions occur per cell per day in mammalian cells. This damage to DNA
can lead to cell death as well as disease such as cancer.

The total contract is about $200,000,000. Your firm gets $20,000,000 for overall project management

Compare And Contrast Babe Ruth And Al Capone
Comparison and Contrast.
Babe Ruth and Al Capone
The purpose of this essay is to compare the life and experiences of two American in history. I decided
to write about two icons of the 1920s Al Capone and Babe Ruth because most of the times we focus
more on the people who most likely did not struggle to obtain higher social status, moreover, these
two characters grew up in the same period time, but made different choices in life, which I believe it
will be interesting to know if two different people went through similar experiences. First, we would
highlight their significant details about themselves, secondly, we will look at their similarities and
lastly, we will spot their differences. First, who was Babe Ruth; based on the book Babe Ruth by
Tracy Brown Collins, his real name was George Herman Ruth the same as his father, he was born on
February 6, 1895, in Baltimore, Maryland, but what is interesting is that for many years he believed
that he was born on February 07, 1894, until he got his birth certificate when he was required to get
his passport and found out his real date of birth.
The neighborhood where he was born is known as Pig town it was a poor neighborhood with cramped
houses. Ruth s parents were, Kate Schamberger Ruth and George Herman Ruth they owned and run a

Helping to raise money for victims of human trafficking will help the victim get back on their feet
gives them some stability for the time being as they start to build up their lives again. There are many
different organizations like Polaris and The National Human Trafficking Hotline or fundraisers held
by trafficking victims that ask for donations to fund these programs and to help these people that are
being trafficked. They make it very easy to donate also, they have web pages to guide people and
show people where to donate and they also give information about human trafficking too, like
statistics to see just how big of a problem it is. Besides these fundraiser, giving these victims jobs is
helpful too because a lot of them were in poverty before being trafficked. Giving them stabled jobs so
they never have to search for money in way that will make them classified as a slave will help a great
deal. The next way to help diminish human trafficking is getting people more aware of the issue will
lead to more help, having survivors share their stories appeals to people s emotions and they ll feel
empathetic towards the horrible situations that these people lived and and would want to help. Another
way to help is to tip off officials and these hotlines and tell them if you know anything about human

Literary Techniques Of Thomas Stoppard s Arcadia
Literary Techniques in Thomas Stoppard s Arcadia
Arcadia by Thomas Stoppard was written in 1993 depicting the correlation between order and
disorder, the present and the past. The concepts tackled in these areas were looked at closely in
comparison to the themes of love and death. Stoppard s work of art earned him a position among other
renowned contemporary playwrights after it was awarded as one of the outstanding plays that were
encompassed the subject of science widely. This was an award issued to it by the institution of Britain
in 2006. Arcadia represents the activities of the modern society in comparison to that which was in
existence before civilization came into place. The high evolutionary society comprises practices and
ideas that can be juxtaposed to strike a balance in the time. Therefore, it can be noted that Stoppard s
aim in this case was to juxtapose the ideas of the contemporary lifestyle and the activities of the past
in order to strike a balance for the highly evolutionary society.
The play Arcadia takes place during the years 1806, 1812, and the present day society. Sidley Park is
represented both in the ancient society and in the contemporary one as a country house in Derbyshire,
where the Coverly family resides. The play has various characters fashioned in the form of a family as
the center of all activity. People such as Bernard Nightingale and Septimus are the people responsible
for the dissemination of knowledge in the family. The plot comprises of

Ivy Rowe s Ideas of the Past in Fair and Tender Ladies

attachment is one of the main themes in the novel. It is one of her main reasons for letter writing and
why she does some of the things that she does, because she does not want to lose her grip on her past.
Ivy Rowe, in Lee Smith s Fair and Tender
Ladies, uses letter writing to keep a hold of her grip on the past and where she came from.

The beauty of the mountain stays with her the rest of her life.
In Letters from Majestic, Ivy continues to use letter writing as a means to express emotions and
thoughts that she could not otherwise express. I feel I am bursting with news but I can not tell it to a
sole, I have no one to talk to. (Smith, p. 96) This quote shows just how much Ivy needs to write. She
has no one to talk to and cannot express her feelings to anyone save through writing these letters. She
continues to feel as thought she needs to hold on to the past and continue with her exploration of
herself by looking backwards instead of forwards. That is one of the biggest themes in this book. Her
journey of exploration by looking backwards instead of forwards. It is rare that in any of her letters
she really talks about things to come.
It is always about what has already happened and what is happening, very rarely does she talk about
what is to happen later.
Other reviewers of the novel agree that Ivy s letter writing is helpful for her and the people she writes
to. The adolescent Ivy s letters are often therapeutic. Her mother s plan to move to town after the
family farm fails prompts a letter to her deceased father in which
Ivy not only deals with the impact of change,

Energy, Renewable And Renewable Energy
Energy Future Energy has been a major part of humanity ever since the first human learned how to
harness safety, warmth, and energy from fire. Today, with seven billion humans on Earth, it is possible
that our constant need for energy could destroy our beautiful and fragile planet. One way to solve this
problem is to start using renewable energies such as solar and wind.
There are two types of energy, renewable and nonrenewable. Fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum
for example, are a non are renewable energy. They cannot be recreated once used and they take
hundreds of millions of years to form, much longer than the history of humanity. The other less
popular methods such as hydropower and solar power on the other hand, are renewable energy. They
can produce energy at a constant rate and can be recreated by one way or another. (Micah and Warhol)
To find the solution to energy problem, find the problem first, take a look at our current energy
sources and find the problems. The first thing people think of when talking about fuel is gasoline or
diesel, both of which come from petroleum. Petroleum is a fossil fuel that releases heat as energy
when burned. The heat released from burning drive turbines, air cylinders that can power machinery.
Petroleum is used mostly as fuel to engines such as cars and planes. (EPA) Petroleum is important for
allowing the modern world that we know to exist.

Old Chief Mshlanga Character Analysis
For some, coming of age is a time of obstacles and success in a young youth s life. It involves a
number of trials that is needed to overcome to become mature. Although, obstacles are not the only
features that a young adolescents will encounter. The journey will happen beginning with successes
and triumphs that will come to the shaping of who they are to become. One can simply presume that
the occurrence taking place in the world would have a strong impact on how an adolescent comes of
age. The tale Old Chief Mshlanga focuses on the main character, the protagonist known as she or little
Nkosikaas her encounter with an African chieftain that causes her to see the differences between her
people and the natives of the land they reside. The author, Doris Lessing, uses the protagonist to show
radically changing attitudes towards the Old Chief Mshlanga. At the age of fourteen, the nameless
protagonist meets Old Chief Mshlanga on a walk with her dogs, a native tribal leader who used to own
the whole area. The chief s pride and respect make the girl gingerly change her opinion of natives and
reconsider her prejudiced vision and idea. As a result, she begins to be more pleasant towards the
natives she encounters. The girl s inner characterization resembles a coming of age character. She
develops because of the action and her traits as a child are presented in contrast with her traits as a
teenager. This contrast is emphasized using the third person narrator at the beginning of

Advantages Of Electric Fly Killers
How effective are electric fly killers in killing flying insects?
Nowadays, there are always flying insects that are wandering around in a certain place and people
seem to be having a very hard time catching them and killing them at the same time. These flies are a
nuisance to every person because nobody would want to have flies in the house. People would find
these flying insects flying around mostly in their homes, however, they cannot seem to find the source
of this problem. This has occurred every year and yet, people could not find the source of these
problems. Some factors that could be affecting this problem is the change in weather of every month
or season, things that are dirty that may attract flies, etc. The magnitude of this problem may increase
if a solution is not implemented to solve this problem as soon as possible.

The first one is that obviously, electric fly killers eliminate lots of flying insects right away, and it
greatly reduces the insect population around the area. There might be piles and piles of insects within
a few days, and while eventually there will be lesser insects, there is no denying that electric fly killers
play a huge impact on solving this issue. The second benefit is that similarly, electric fly killers allow
people to eliminate flying insects with few chemicals and not much personal involvement. There is no
health risk when it does not come to handling the electric fly killers, nor there any risk of disturbing or
a nest or facing an insect that people fear. Electric fly killers are out of the way and it has limited
personal involvement, so people would not need to involve in anything when it comes to using electric
fly killers. For many people, this is enough to make these devices a popular choice for people that
think of flies as a nuisance to

Writings may have been introduced from Mesopotamia, and played a major role for inspiration; yet,
there were differences in characters and material. The description, developed form could be explained
as the Egyptian writing was able to describe every spoken language into a written language, even
though it was not an alphabetical system. Ancient Egyptian language had several forms and developed
as time passed by: Old Egyptian (2650 2135BC), Middle Egyptian (2000 1750BC), Late Egyptian
(1550 700), Demotic (600BC AD500), Coptic (AD300 present), and Greek (332 30BC). In fact, as the
Coptic Church still uses the Coptic for liturgical languages, the Egyptian language can be said that it is
used for more than 5,000 years, which is longer than any other languages. In addition, there were
Hieroglyphs, which were sacred carvings of the words of God. It was used shortly before 3100BC to
40AD and was used for carving on walls and stones. Hieratic was a writing that was used instead of
Hieroglyphs when wring on Papyrus, and indeed, it was made to make writing letters easier for priests
and scribes. Demotic was a more simple writing system than previous ones, which was used widely by
ordinary people. However, Coptic was used by only ruling elites, which described Ancient Egyptian
with Ancient Greek. Indeed, the archeological material and pictorial evidence from Egypt shows that
the writing were mainly monumental and centered on the ruling group, religion, and on the symbols of
Egypt as a single polity . This explains a clear comparison in the usage of the written system of
Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilizations, which further can be interpreted within its politics as the
Egyptian had a more centralized ruling

The Jungle as Socialist Propaganda nbsp; In the world of economic competition that we live in today,
many thrive and many are left to dig through trashcans. It has been a constant struggle throughout the
modern history of society. One widely prescribed example of this struggle is Upton Sinclair s
groundbreaking novel, The Jungle. The Jungle takes the reader along on a journey with a group of
recent Lithuanian immigrants to America. As well as a physical journey, this is a journey into a new
world for them. They have come to America, where in the early twentieth century it was said that any
man willing to work an honest day would make a living and could support his family. It is an ideal that
all Americans are familiar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some believe that Capitalism is the cause for much of the poverty in the nation today, but any
hardcore capitalist will tell you that capitalism inherited poverty, and far from being a cause of
poverty, it is the only solution. nbsp; However, believers in socialism would completely disagree with
this ideal. Socialism is the economic system in which the workers, instead of a rich minority of
entrepreneurs, own all industry. Workers receive the full fruits of their labors instead of being given
miniscule compensation for backbreaking labor. Since the people are paid well for their work, work
becomes a cooperative entity where people come to rely on one another and people actually are more
inclined to do their fair share to help the advancement of society as a whole. nbsp; In order to discuss
these issues as they are pertinent to this story, a general summary of the story must first be given. The
story revolves around the life and family of Jurgis Rudkus, a Lithuanian immigrant who comes to
America with his wife Ona, their children, and a few members of their extended family. They have
heard the stories of other Lithuanian immigrants coming to America and making a fortune in the free
economic system of America. They are bright eyed looking ahead into their futures. They are moved
into a section of Chicago known as Packingtown, a slum full of run down housing and large

C. S. Lewis The Chronicles Of Narnia
You may know C.S. Lewis for writing the Chronicles of Narnia, but he was known for a variety of
more things. He was known for writing novels, essays, critical commentary, autobiographies, poems,
short stories, and he was also a diarist ( World 2075). He would write about what he was going
through of something based on what he believed. C.S. Lewis was a great author because he wrote
from the heart and about things that impacted him the most. C.S. Lewis had a challenging childhood,
but I believe that helped shape him as an author and a person. He was born on November twenty
ninth, eighteen ninety eight in Belfast, Ireland (MacNee 252). His Father was a solicitor and his
mother was a daughter of a clergyman (MacNee 252). Lewis s mother was diagnosed with cancer
when he was only nine years old (MacNee 252). After his mother s death, his father distanced away
from C.S. Lewis and his older brother, Warren ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lewis wrote quite a few books and letters, but you probably know him best for writing the Chronicles
of Narnia. Lewis said that he believed that his imaginative self inspired the series (MacNee 255).
Many people told Lewis not to write the Narnia series because it would ruin his reputation, but he
wrote the children s book anyway (Imbornoni 2). Throughout the series there are many biblical
references which makes sense because Lewis believed in the bible. One of the references he put in
there was Aslan (a lion) which represented God. Another success of C.S. Lewis was The Screwtape
Letters. They were his first Christian success (MacNee 255). In an interview in 1963 he said that the
Screwtape letters was the only one of all his books that he didn t enjoy writing (Mancini 2). He said he
found the book dry and gritty going (Mancini 2). This series is about notes from a senior devil to a
junior tempter (MacNee 255). Lewis even considered making a companion novel from the perspective
of an angel but his standards were high so he didn t pursue it (Mancini

Benefits Of A Job For A Resident s Life Span And...
Robert Burney (2015) explains that CCRCs all offer multiple levels of care, but not all contracts cap
long term costs regardless of the level of care. Type A contract facilities are able to cap these costs,
which make them more favorable. However, in order to accomplish this control of futuristic costs,
institutions must require a significant entrance fee for residents. Essentially, residents buy in to their
retirement community and are then contracted at a fixed rate for all futuristic expenses, regardless of
the resident s life span and potential care needs. As one would expect, the initial buy in is very costly
and could range from $50,000 to over $1,000,000 (Burney, 2015). Depending on the needs a resident
may require in the future he or she may be arranging a deal of great value or one that will prove to be
exceptionally expensive. Nevertheless, Type A contracts are made to reflect estimates of average
healthcare costs seen in many elderly persons as they transition through multiple levels of care
(Burney, 2015). Because of these analyzed costs, a facility s financial planner can easily establish
residential rates to cover basic living needs, possible increased healthcare requirements, and the
sustainment of the business. Many vigorous steps of financial planning should be done from all parties
involved in any long term agreement in order to consider the time value of money in regards to
futuristic costs and benefits.

Persuasive Essay On Role Playing Games
Without a doubt, violent role playing games are perilous to teens because they are forced to use
violent terms and graphic images. The role playing game Killer makes students use violent terms to
win and find new ways to violently win. One student asked a judge , the evaluator of this game, if he
could take his gun, anywhere near an E1 A1 counter. (Martin). Students are questioning whether they
are allowed to take their water guns out. These students are forced to use these terms. Whenever a
student loses they are killed and their killers are called assassins. Calling students assassins and
encouraging them to kill each other, could encourage them to commit a capital crime, such as murder.

The graphics make the bodies fall down in a realistic Ragdoll fashion, and blood soaks soldiers clothes
when they are shot. (Tahnk) These graphics mimic real life deaths. When teens are exposed to such
violent graphics, they get used to it and the sight of blood doesn t bother them. Some infamous killers
have admitted to using Call of Duty as training before they would go on to commit a crime. Action
role playing games like Dark Souls 3 are known for their violence. Dark Souls 3 is one of the most
violent games of 2016, because of its graphic terms and dark plotline. (Sapieha) Using terms like slice,
hack and impale are common throughout the game, this game is not appropriate for anybody under the
age of eighteen. This game has blood, skulls, and dead bodies that lay on the ground. These details
encourage a dark side to teens playing the game. Players are forced to brutally exterminate anyone
who gets in their way. ...studies show that violent video games increase adolescent aggressiveness,
(Dartmouth). Violent games with antisocial and first person protagonists are known to have violent
terms and graphic images. Games like Grand Theft Auto V and Mortal Kombat X are known for their
graphic nature.

U.s. National Bureau Of Economic Research
In December of 2007 the Great Recession hit not only the american but the world s economy.
According to the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) the struggle didn t end in the
United States until June 2009, and therefore had a duration of about 18 months. This global crisis
ranks fourth in terms of the weighted sum of countries suffering it (NBER). Consumers, who had been
the engine of the economy for the past several decades, suffered the loss of their jobs. Between 2008
and 2009, the U.S. labor market lost 8.4 million jobs, or 6.1% of all payroll employment (State of
Working America). This resulted in the most sever consumer spending decline since World War II and
the worst employment contraction since the Great Depression, reaching a peak of 10% of all the
workforce on October 2009 (BLS). The economy was already faltering in the banking sector, but it
finally crashed with the dearth of credit. As a heart distributes the blood throughout the human body,
even reaching the limbs, allowing the body to work properly, the banking sector pumps credit,
reaching every business in every sector. When the banking sector stops giving credit, the whole
economy freezes since businesses don t have means to pay their bills. There are reasons why the banks
stopped the flow of credit, and they could have been avoided if the government had corrected the bad
manners to which the banking sector was getting used, all driven by the ambition to generate more
revenue. The

Stephen King Movie Vs Book
While many books in the past have received the honor of being produced onto the big screen for all of
audiences to see, no author has done it better than horror themed writer, Stephen King. Stephen King
has written over novels and at least 200 short stories. Amongst all of his books, have been produced
into film adaptations, he even has had some produced into television series s such as Under the Dome.
Some of King s most noteworthy books, It and The Shining, have even been produced into a
miniseries. A miniseries is similar to a television series in the sense that they appear in episodes. In
this case, it essentially is just a very long movie broken into predetermined amount of episodes and
then aired on television. Even though King s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The movie has very large cult following and truly is a great film. Some people even believe that
without the movie, the novel would not be as popular as it is. In an article written by Mark Hodge
titled Stephen King Still Won t Accept Kubrick s Genius, Hodge states It is also testament to Kubrick
s brilliance, and of course the power of the moving picture, that his film as usurped the book within
pop culture. That rare achievement is perhaps something which irks King the most. (Hodge). While
Kubrick s version of the film is still great, to say that the film surpasses the book is a far fetched claim.
As the popular thought goes, the book is always better than the film. Coming from a huge Stephen
King fan, it is easy to understand his disdain towards the film. As Laura Miller states in her article
What Stanley Kubrick Got Wrong About The Shining You don t have to dislike Kubrick s The Shining
to see King s point. The two men represent diametrically opposed approaches to creating narrative art.
(Miller). Kubrick s film does not stay true to the novel and leaves out a lot, however, that does not
mean the film was awful. The miniseries attempted to do justice towards the novel and it did, it just
did not surpass the film. The film had its own look on the novel as did the miniseries, it just so
happens that the miniseries stays true to the novel, as King had originally set out to do. Overall, both
versions are great, they just capture the novel in a different

It begins with a flashback to when Barry Allen s, the main character, mom is killed in an unexplainable event and his dad is convicted of her murder... which Barry believes to be untrue. Now, 14 years later, Barry works for Central City C.S.I and is quite good at his job. On one particular night a particle accelerator, created by Harrison Wells and was supposed to change the way everyone thought about physics, exploded releasing an unimaginable amount of dark energy. Lightning then struck Barry, which put him in a coma for nine months. After waking up, Barry began to notice certain things were slowing down... or so he thought. In reality, he was just moving unexplainably fast. When a man named Clyde Martin that can inexplicably control the weather starts terrorizing the city, Barry takes it upon himself to take him down. He speaks with Oliver Queen for advice, Barry knows Oliver is the Arrow, and Oliver tells him that he can inspire people the way he himself never could. Barry then takes on Clyde Martin head on and defeats him. The storylines between the two shows are similar because they both begin by showing what made the two heroes and what made them who they are stemmed from former accidents. ... • 4. Essay on Arnold Schoenberg s Musical Influence Arnold Schoenberg s Musical Influence Arnold Schoenberg was one of the greatest musical influences of the mid 20th Century. He was born on September 13, 1874, to a Jewish family in Vienna, Austria (Schoenberg 1). Schoenberg was a young Jewish man during World War I (WWI) living in Berlin. He was directly affected by the invasion of the Nazis. In 1933, he had to leave Berlin and desert his faith for Lutheranism later on taking on the faith of Judaism. At the early age of eight, he began violin lessons and almost immediately started composing music (Schoenberg 1). He was self taught until the age of 10 when he began formal training (Schoenberg 1). One of the warmest and richest harmonies Schoenberg created was The Chamber Symphony No. 2 (1939) which had late Romanticism harmonies with neo classic spirit (Schoenberg 1). Through Schoenberg and his students, the twelve tone method became a dominating force in the mid 20th century composition and strongly influenced the course of western music. Schoenberg made a radical break in music with his un orthodox pitch combinations and his unique rhythms. Schoenberg stated: Whether one calls oneself conservative or revolutionary, whether one composes in a conventional or progressive manner, whether one tries to imitate old styles or is destined to express new ideas one must be convinced of the infallibility of one s own fantasy and one must believe in one s own inspiration. The desire for a conscious control of the new means and forms will arise in every artist s mind; and he will wish to follow consciously the laws and rules that govern the forms he has conceived as in a dream (Norton 1). Schoenberg was not only a musician but also a writer and painter. This variety of talent allowed him to construct a larger audience. As a musician he only reached those who loved music. It would show the events true love can overcome, and inevitably end in a happy ending. The stories would have to be adapted in such a way to where all the details were appropriate for a child. It must be wrote to where the story would not be over their head, so they could fully understand the story. My adaption of Chevrefoil from The Lais of Marie de France into a children s book would essentially fall into the same category as the stories about love between a prince and a princess. Children love the type of stories where two people fall in love and are able to be together. Since the original Lai is fairly short it would allow most of the details to be included, without running a story that s too long for a child s attention span. The book would be appropriately illustrated, filling it with entertaining pictures that children would love. The adaption would be called Love and Honeysuckles, as it s short and catchy, and honeysuckles is a word that children may think is silly especially combined with love, which would have them somewhat intrigued before starting the book. Children when inclined learn many lessons from the books they read. A lot of older literature is already referenced in children books today; this is where a lot of us have gained a basic knowledge of history or previous literature. Canada s commitment to the Kyoto Protocol was a relatively short lived deal met with plenty of controversy that saw opposition and support. The Kyoto Protocol is an international treaty that extended the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that commits countries to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions based on the assumption that global warming exists and man made CO2 emissions are the contributing factor (Kyoto Protocol 1997). There have definitely been changes since the first president. The Electoral have many flaws and i m here to inform you about the flaws about the way we elect our president. I am going to tell you my two biggest flaws that need to be changed. The Electoral College does not represent the people in the best possible way, considering the state s vote represents the majority of the state, not the individual people, which is ideal. The second reason why the Electoral College does not best represent the people is because the smaller populated states don t have an even say compared to the larger states. The Electoral College represent the people because the states vote represents the majority of the state, but not all of the people. In CT, 54% voted for Hillary and 41% voted for Trump. CT final vote was Hillary so those 668,000/41% of the people don t get represented at all. ( 2016 Election ). For those people, their vote does not mean anything to the outcome of the president. • 25. Investigating The Role Of Scientific Knowledge On A Crime... Conducting a successful investigation is relatively important in solving a case. Through each of the components of the investigation, the tasks may vary; however, the end goal is moderately similar. Once a report has been made, the investigation has begun. Investigators take it upon themselves and their team to interact with the crime scene they see best fit. Crime scenes can accompany any given setting, terrain, and/or location. Therefore, there is an importance in how investigators conduct their investigation. The use of scientific knowledge solely applies to forensic investigators which is fairly important in a crime scene examination. According to Criminalistics, forensic science is the application of science to the criminal and civil laws that are enforced by the police agencies in a criminal justice system . Applying scientific knowledge to a crime scene allows the investigator to have a greater understanding of the events that have occurred. However, forensic investigators can only perform their job well through a standard of properly recovered and preserved evidence. The preservation of evidence at the crime scene is often the focus of the case. Through evidence, a connection can be made to link certain suspects to a crime. Locard exchange principle suggests when a criminal comes in contact with an object or person, a cross transfer of evidence occurs. Evidently, the preservation of evidence begins with the first responding officer. First responding officers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A particular amino acid is very important in catalytic activity, ligand binding, protein folding or other function. Literary Techniques Of Thomas Stoppard s Arcadia Literary Techniques in Thomas Stoppard s Arcadia Arcadia by Thomas Stoppard was written in 1993 depicting the correlation between order and disorder, the present and the past. The concepts tackled in these areas were looked at closely in comparison to the themes of love and death. Stoppard s work of art earned him a position among other renowned contemporary playwrights after it was awarded as one of the outstanding plays that were encompassed the subject of science widely. This was an award issued to it by the institution of Britain in 2006. Arcadia represents the activities of the modern society in comparison to that which was in existence before civilization came into place. The high evolutionary society comprises practices and ideas that can be juxtaposed to strike a balance in the time. Therefore, it can be noted that Stoppard s aim in this case was to juxtapose the ideas of the contemporary lifestyle and the activities of the past in order to strike a balance for the highly evolutionary society. The play Arcadia takes place during the years 1806, 1812, and the present day society. Sidley Park is represented both in the ancient society and in the contemporary one as a country house in Derbyshire, where the Coverly family resides. The play has various characters fashioned in the form of a family as the center of all activity. Ancient Egyptian language had several forms and developed as time passed by: Old Egyptian (2650 2135BC), Middle Egyptian (2000 1750BC), Late Egyptian (1550 700), Demotic (600BC AD500), Coptic (AD300 present), and Greek (332 30BC). In fact, as the Coptic Church still uses the Coptic for liturgical languages, the Egyptian language can be said that it is used for more than 5,000 years, which is longer than any other languages. In addition, there were Hieroglyphs, which were sacred carvings of the words of God. It was used shortly before 3100BC to 40AD and was used for carving on walls and stones. Hieratic was a writing that was used instead of Hieroglyphs when wring on Papyrus, and indeed, it was made to make writing letters easier for priests and scribes. Demotic was a more simple writing system than previous ones, which was used widely by ordinary people. However, Coptic was used by only ruling elites, which described Ancient Egyptian with Ancient Greek. Indeed, the archeological material and pictorial evidence from Egypt shows that the writing were mainly monumental and centered on the ruling group, religion, and on the symbols of Egypt as a single polity . This explains a clear comparison in the usage of the written system of Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilizations, which further can be interpreted within its politics as the Egyptian had a more centralized ruling ... Essay Upton Sinclair s The Jungle as Socialist Propaganda The Jungle as Socialist Propaganda nbsp; In the world of economic competition that we live in today, many thrive and many are left to dig through trashcans. It has been a constant struggle throughout the modern history of society. One widely prescribed example of this struggle is Upton Sinclair s groundbreaking novel, The Jungle. The Jungle takes the reader along on a journey with a group of recent Lithuanian immigrants to America. As well as a physical journey, this is a journey into a new world for them. They have come to America, where in the early twentieth century it was said that any man willing to work an honest day would make a living and could support his family. Some believe that Capitalism is the cause for much of the poverty in the nation today, but any hardcore capitalist will tell you that capitalism inherited poverty, and far from being a cause of poverty, it is the only solution. nbsp; However, believers in socialism would completely disagree with this ideal. Socialism is the economic system in which the workers, instead of a rich minority of entrepreneurs, own all industry. Workers receive the full fruits of their labors instead of being given miniscule compensation for backbreaking labor. Since the people are paid well for their work, work becomes a cooperative entity where people come to rely on one another and people actually are more inclined to do their fair share to help the advancement of society as a whole. nbsp; In order to discuss these issues as they are pertinent to this story, a general summary of the story must first be given. The story revolves around the life and family of Jurgis Rudkus, a Lithuanian immigrant who comes to America with his wife Ona, their children, and a few members of their extended family. They have heard the stories of other Lithuanian immigrants coming to America and making a fortune in the free economic system of America. They are bright eyed looking ahead into their futures. Lewis wrote quite a few books and letters, but you probably know him best for writing the Chronicles of Narnia. Lewis said that he believed that his imaginative self inspired the series (MacNee 255). Many people told Lewis not to write the Narnia series because it would ruin his reputation, but he wrote the children s book anyway (Imbornoni 2). Throughout the series there are many biblical references which makes sense because Lewis believed in the bible. One of the references he put in there was Aslan (a lion) which represented God. Another success of C.S. Lewis was The Screwtape Letters. They were his first Christian success (MacNee 255). In an interview in 1963 he said that the Screwtape letters was the only one of all his books that he didn t enjoy writing (Mancini 2). He said he found the book dry and gritty going (Mancini 2). • 44. Benefits Of A Job For A Resident s Life Span And... Robert Burney (2015) explains that CCRCs all offer multiple levels of care, but not all contracts cap long term costs regardless of the level of care. Type A contract facilities are able to cap these costs, which make them more favorable. However, in order to accomplish this control of futuristic costs, institutions must require a significant entrance fee for residents. Essentially, residents buy in to their retirement community and are then contracted at a fixed rate for all futuristic expenses, regardless of the resident s life span and potential care needs. As one would expect, the initial buy in is very costly and could range from $50,000 to over $1,000,000 (Burney, 2015). Depending on the needs a resident may require in the future he or she may be arranging a deal of great value or one that will prove to be exceptionally expensive. Nevertheless, Type A contracts are made to reflect estimates of average healthcare costs seen in many elderly persons as they transition through multiple levels of care (Burney, 2015). Because of these analyzed costs, a facility s financial planner can easily establish residential rates to cover basic living needs, possible increased healthcare requirements, and the sustainment of the business. Many vigorous steps of financial planning should be done from all parties involved in any long term agreement in order to consider the time value of money in regards to futuristic costs and benefits. • 46. U.s. National Bureau Of Economic Research In December of 2007 the Great Recession hit not only the american but the world s economy. According to the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) the struggle didn t end in the United States until June 2009, and therefore had a duration of about 18 months. This global crisis ranks fourth in terms of the weighted sum of countries suffering it (NBER). Consumers, who had been the engine of the economy for the past several decades, suffered the loss of their jobs. Between 2008 and 2009, the U.S. labor market lost 8.4 million jobs, or 6.1% of all payroll employment (State of Working America). This resulted in the most sever consumer spending decline since World War II and the worst employment contraction since the Great Depression, reaching a peak of 10% of all the workforce on October 2009 (BLS). The economy was already faltering in the banking sector, but it finally crashed with the dearth of credit. As a heart distributes the blood throughout the human body, even reaching the limbs, allowing the body to work properly, the banking sector pumps credit, reaching every business in every sector. When the banking sector stops giving credit, the whole economy freezes since businesses don t have means to pay their bills. There are reasons why the banks stopped the flow of credit, and they could have been avoided if the government had corrected the bad manners to which the banking sector was getting used, all driven by the ambition to generate more revenue. • 47. Stephen King Movie Vs Book While many books in the past have received the honor of being produced onto the big screen for all of audiences to see, no author has done it better than horror themed writer, Stephen King. Stephen King has written over novels and at least 200 short stories. Amongst all of his books, have been produced into film adaptations, he even has had some produced into television series s such as Under the Dome. Some of King s most noteworthy books, It and The Shining, have even been produced into a miniseries. A miniseries is similar to a television series in the sense that they appear in episodes. In this case, it essentially is just a very long movie broken into predetermined amount of episodes and then aired on television. Even though King s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The movie has very large cult following and truly is a great film. Some people even believe that without the movie, the novel would not be as popular as it is. In an article written by Mark Hodge titled Stephen King Still Won t Accept Kubrick s Genius, Hodge states It is also testament to Kubrick s brilliance, and of course the power of the moving picture, that his film as usurped the book within pop culture. That rare achievement is perhaps something which irks King the most. (Hodge). While Kubrick s version of the film is still great, to say that the film surpasses the book is a far fetched claim. As the popular thought goes, the book is always better than the film. Coming from a huge Stephen King fan, it is easy to understand his disdain towards the film. As Laura Miller states in her article What Stanley Kubrick Got Wrong About The Shining You don t have to dislike Kubrick s The Shining to see King s point. The two men represent diametrically opposed approaches to creating narrative art. (Miller). Kubrick s film does not stay true to the novel and leaves out a lot, however, that does not mean the film was awful. The miniseries attempted to do justice towards the novel and it did, it just did not surpass the film. The film had its own look on the novel as did the miniseries, it just so happens that the miniseries stays true to the novel, as King had originally set out to do.
