Under Armour Is The Third Biggest Sportswear Brand Of The...
Problem Identification: Under Armour is the second biggest sportswear brand in the US losing the first
place to Nike. It is a great accomplishment for Under Armour considering the fact that the company
was established in 1996. Nevertheless, Under Armour does not have a well known name so that
people will actually consider it to have a real possibility to create a threat to Nike and surpass them at
some point. Under Armour faces many competitors besides Nike, like Adidas, Reebok, and Puma.
While Under Armour makes exceptional products that are of similar quality, what makes Nike so
much stronger of a company? A main problem identified was that Under Armour does not have much
international revenue compared to its counterpart Nike, and Under Armour does not try to send a
message with their clothes. They just want to sell them. In fact, according to 247wallst.com, Nike had
an international revenue quarter of about $7 billion while Under Armour saw a quarterly revenue of
$610 million. External Environment: One of the strongest sides of Under Armour is its outstanding
technological development. Under Armour has made many strides in technology of their products. For
example, Under Armour has begun using a waterproof and water resistant material. One of the most
notable major changes in technology Under Armour is working on is the use of a touch screen in the
arm of a sleeve for instant access to information, whether it is heart rate monitor or simply social
media and music. The

Abstract
This paper will jump into the psychologically significant findings in the movie 10 Things I Hate
About You. All research for this paper was conducted using the text required for the fall semester of
Developmental Psychology (offline) and using the internet. While some see the movie as just a
depiction of normal teenage life with an overbearing parent, there are many notable psychological
stages, and even disorders present throughout. Without having done research to discover these, it
would be easy to look over them, but once pointed out, they are more than obvious. It is interesting to
see how they were put into the movie without making it the main theme of the movie itself. This paper
will define those psychological findings, explain them, and locate them within the actual movie.
10 Things I Hate About You The movie 10 Things I Hate About You(1999) is a film that was based off
of William Shakespeare s The Taming of the Shrew that was a popular play in the 16th

Anthony Ressler Case Study
After days of talking and media hypes, it is now clear that Atlanta Hawks ownership is going to
Antony Ressler. He is one of the renowned equity fund and investment managers in our country. His
group has come to a decision to buy the team for nearly $850 millions. Although the deal has been
finalized, the new owner of this team is yet to speak publicly about the completion of the sale. Sources
claim that the new owners in Ressler s group include some of the notable persons, including ex NBA
player Grant Hill and popular entrepreneur Jesse Itzler. Itzler is also the co founder of Marquis Jet. As
per the plan, the group led by Ressler will buy the Hawks from Michael Gearon Jr., Bruce Levenson
and other investors. The new owner group of Atlanta Hawks also include Itzler s wife Sara Blakely.
Before the completion of the sale, NBA owners must approve the sale of this team as well. ... Show

Entrepreneur Antony Ressler had already given his nod for this sale agreement. While the completion
of this sale is yet to happen, sources claim that the sale will be financed by cash and some loans. In
this long term plan with the Ressler s group, both Steve Koonin(CEO) and Mike Budenholzer(coach)
will be closely associated. This ongoing plan will also include some organization restructure by the
new ownership group. This news is from ESPN as sources close to the group confirmed it. Forbes
mentioned in a report about the current value of the Hawks last year, which was close to $425 million.
However, the change in the price is all because of the sales of the Bucks and Clippers. After NBA
finalized some new television deals this year, the franchise value has doubled in a short span of time.
Apparently, the price of Hawks skyrocketed to $850 million compared to the last year s

Performance Management At The Hospital System
Performance management issues can become present in a workplace at any time. I have recently seen
three issues take place at the hospital system that I work in. The first is turnover of leadership with no
trained replacements. The second is having poor management in the clinics. The last example is the
removal of trained employees by the software implementation team. Challenges can be cross training,
experienced employee hiring, and the stopping of trained employee removal. The threats are no one
knows how to perform the job, failure of company, and making mistakes. In the selected article, it
goes into detail to explain the aspects of performance management (Pollitt, 2013). It explains that
motivation, rewards, feedback, and goals are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No one completely understood what this person was doing on a day to day basis. This was because no
one had been involved with this particular position. When this person decided to leave the position, it
created chaos. There was no one completely qualified for the position. Another person in the
department was promoted to the position. The new person in the position had no experience in the
area. It became stressful for everyone that was involved. Others were having to pick up the slack in
work that this person did not understand. Even though no one was totally qualified, there were others
that did understand the area better than the person that was promoted. The next example that I will
write about is the management of some of the clinics in the system. The issue has been that no one has
managed the clinics long. Usually the management is let go due to poor outcome. People that had been
hired have always wanted to make drastic changes and expect to see results quickly. Of course, it takes
time and steps to see the results that new management expects to see. The last example that I would
like to discuss is the effects of software transitions. We are currently in the middle of a software
installation. In order for this to occur, many of the system employees have changed over to the
software implementation team. This means that many departments in the hospital have been forced to
hire new people. The new employees have struggled to understand the

Dystopian Society Is An Illusion Of A Perfect Society
A dystopian society is an illusion of a perfect society. Think of a world where having fun isn t
allowed. Nothing that has been created is fun no sports, no computer games, no music and everything
in life has a purpose. You are forced to work for the rest of your life a job that the government chose.
The government chooses who you are going to marry, where you are going to live and how much you
are going to make. However, one person is assigned a job that he enjoyed and is fun. It is so fun that
he become the best in the field. He then goes on to become the boss of everybody in that field and
starts to boss around the people at the firm. If somebody says something that he does not agree with
they get fired. The keys aspect of a dystopian society can either be a control of information, a
singularity in power or ruling in fear and the purpose of these stories to the reader is what would
happen if we let it run its course?
There are many ways to control information in a society. Controlling information is when somebody
twisted the information around or lie to gain more control over the individual. In the Planet of the
Apes, an older ape that was in power read from a sacred scroll which is a religious book in their
society. Cornelius: [reading from the sacred scrolls of the apes] Beware the beast Man, for he is the
Devil s pawn. Alone among God s primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his
brother to possess his brother s land. Let him not breed

Mythology and Archetypes in Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird
Of all the various approaches to criticism, the Mythological/Archetypal achieves the greatest impact
over the entire literary scope, because the themes and patterns unearthed apply universally to all
works, yielding results that can be applied to a great many texts. This is because the very nature of the
Mythological/Archetypal approach is the exploration of the canon for widespread and pervading
symbols, plots, and characters. These are all greatly extant in Harper Lee s classic novel To Kill a
Mockingbird, an extraordinary examination of the Depression era South through the eyes of a young
girl with rare intelligence and insight, living in a small town ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Through Tom, the legal and social rights of the entire community are called into question. Tom s
injury, therefore, represents the injury of all the people he epitomizes.
These symbols can be illustrated many places elsewhere in the literary canon. For example, the
archetypal character of the crippled man symbolizing a crippled society can be perceived in the
character of Benjy Compton in William Faulkner s tremendously symbolic novel The Sound and the
Fury; Benjy, who is severely mentally challenged, has no concept of time and is preyed upon by
vulturous members of his world, including his black care giver and his older brother Jason. Benjy
represents Faulkner s conception of the decaying Southern gentility; that the sense of time is skewed
(with its emphasis on the conservative old ways and the antebellum morality, the South, like Benjy, is
living in a mixed world of past and present which is largely responsible for its failure and decline) and
that its fate is beyond its control. Harper Lee s use of Tom Robinson is very similar: the arm,
destroyed by a cotton gin (possibly symbolizing the damaging mechanization of modern society),
represents the black communities lack of power and strength; however, all is not negative: Tom has a

ARD Reflection
ARD are these letters stand for Admission, Review, and Dismissal. It is the Texas name for the group
of people who make educational decisions about the student. The purpose of the ARD meeting is to
provide an opportunity for parents and educators to discuss and develop an educational program for
the student. Every ARD or IEP have to include a form a progress. And what direction the child must
take in order to help with the process. ARD helps the teachers and psychologist, principle, and other
school faculty that must be present in order to help modified the students learning environment by
giving them a little extra help to get over the hump that they need.
This ARD meeting also helps me learn about the different style of test you can give to a child to find
out the problem. Like the Johnson woodson Test that is widely used to measured different levels of
reading, mathematics, and knowledge. Not only did we all have a role to act out the scene, but we all
had to spend countless hours of our time to research topics on how we wher going to approach this
dilemma. By doing this ARD meeting it help me understand things some students must go through to
help them better prepare them. I also learned that the parents have every right to not allow the kids to
enter these special programs. Because not everyone is going to see this type of situation in a positive
way. I like the fact that we did this presentation both a positive view and a negative view. We as future

Describe And Explain Ethanol Catabolism Pathways In Humans,
Describe and explain ethanol catabolism pathways in humans, the metabolic effects of excessive
alcohol consumption and describe the long term treatment and prognosis of this disease.
Ethanol is a small two carbon molecule, referred to as alcohol (1, 4); it comes from the fermentation
of grains such as cane sugar molasses etc. Fermentation is the process by which a substance such as
carbohydrates for example, sugars are turned into alcohol by the action of microorganisms such as
yeast, that eventually dies as alcohol levels rise during fermentation (1).
Upon consumption and digestion of alcohol, different metabolic pathways are triggered to aid in
elimination. Therefore, after alcohol is swallowed, it is absorbed primarily from the small ... Show

Oxidation of ethanol to acetaldehyde involves NAD+, an intermediate electron carrier, reduced by two
electrons to form NADH (2). The oxidation of alcohol therefore, involves the generation of a cytosolic
environment, which is extremely reduced in liver; this in turn leaves the cells of the liver cells in a
condition that is highly susceptible to damage from the by products of ethanol metabolism, such as
acetaldehyde and free radicals (2, 4).
The second oxidative pathway involved in metabolising ethanol induced by individuals who
chronically consume alcohol, is the microsomal ethanol oxidising system (MEOS), which involves a
cytochrome P450, to be specific, the CYP2E1 isozyme, which is mainly present in the microsome and
requires the electron carrier NADPH+ instead of NAD+ as for ADH (4). The induction of CYP2E1 by
excessive alcohol consumption plays a vital role in metabolizing ethanol to acetaldehyde at elevated
levels of ethanol concentrations (2, 3, 4). In addition to CYP2E1, inducing ethanol oxidation in the
liver, CYP2E1¬ dependent ethanol oxidation may also occur in other tissues, such as the brain, where
there is low levels of ADH activity. CYP2E1 also produces ROS, which increase the risk of tissue
damage. Induction of the MEOS pathways, which involves CYP2E1, can lead to the production

Democracy Vs Athenian Democracy
Many historian have said that the Athenian created the first society to have democracy. Democracy
was born in the middle of the fifth century B.C. in Athens. A democracy is a government by the people
or rule by the majority. Perhaps the United States took a couple of ideas from the Athenian
constitution to the States constitution. But at the same time there is a difference in both these two
powerful nations. The differences about modern America is what the Founding Fathers planed about
the size of the democracy and how the citizens can have an input in that said democracy. I argue that
there is a comparison between Athenian democracy and modern democracy because Athens was the
first society to create a democracy and constitution. At the time ... Show more content on

Back then Athens had a direct democracy between 508 to 322 B.C. The Legislative Branch in Athens
consists of two different bodies. A council of around 500 and assembly of around 6,000 people. The
500 councillors from the Legislative Branch were selected randomly from the male populations that
were citizens. The councillors could not serve no more than two terms in Athens. For the Executive
Branch, the Athien could only serve for one term. The remainder of the government was held by the
Magistrates. The Magistrates was a host of commissioners, functionaries, and minor officials. Law
enforcement was not a service offered by the Athenian. In the Judicial Branch had only 6,000
volunteers. Public and private were the two kinds of arbitrations available. For the private, two parties
in the dispute would have selected a mutually agreeable third person or persons to have a decision in
the case. And for the public, it consisted of only all male citizens in their 60 years to have a role. For
the United States also has a Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches in our government system.

25 years old. Also must have been a valid American citizen for at least seven years. For Executive
Branch, it is invested in the President of The United States. To be elected as President, one must be 35
years of age. The President also has Cabinet members. The Cabinet gives advisory to the President,

The Problem Of Network Security
Network security has never been so critical for the last decades. Companies nowadays are at a
potential risks. The use of data is essential for business needs and user s education is a priority. Users
allow companies to manipulate their data on a trust relationship basis. A startup healthcare company
has many challenges in the market as new cyber threats come every seconds which impel network
security administrator to enforce strict rules and measures. A company information technology
structure set up will determine its protection. A risk analysis is important to discover flaws and
recommend measures that administrators need to take. As for any startup company, the needs to a
good information technology structure plan is paramount. ABC Healthcare is new with 50 employees.
According to fig.1 which illustrates the ABC information technology structure the company is at great
risk. The company is equipped with an ISP modem/router that is directly connected to a switch. The
ABC might have installed great antivirus software to protect their system against cyber attacks.
Nevertheless, managing healthcare data in a network with only antivirus is not enough. An antivirus
offers great protection and is an effective way to protect against viruses. However, a firewall is a
necessary tool to help keep attackers off the network based on rules set implicitly to filter the web
traffic and protect files. While antivirus is a great tool to help keep you safe, adding a firewall will

2.1 Web Accessibility
Currently the use of multimedia such as sound, still images, moving images are all used in all website
to make their content more interesting and to make the design of the website aesthetically pleasing,
interesting and easy to read. Therefore, it is a necessity to think how accessible of the content of the
website is, this is called web accessibility which accommodates all the users, such as those with
disabilities, normal users, or elderly. This is particularly important for those with disabilities, websites
should be made with consideration for this group and the content and services should be made
accessible as equal as those normal users (Henry, 2006). Carter and Markel (2001) found that only 1%
of web developers pay attention to the accessibility of the website, this is because most web
developers believe that to make the website accessible a lot of resources would be required, such as
times and money. Currently, there are many websites being developed and more users using. When
websites are designed without any

Computer Disadvantages
When you decide that it is time to upgrade to a good computer, you have to make a big decision.
There are 2 things that it comes down to and those are that you buy a computer brand new, or if you
decide to build your own unique PC. Here are some things to look out for before you make your final
decision. We will start with some of the risks with building a computer. Obviously you have to risk
your time. I advise that you spend quite a while to investigate which parts of the computer will be
budget friendly and efficient. You will also have to wait for the parts that you ordered to ship in.
Although it only takes about 45min 1hr to build the computer. It can be a lengthy wait as opposed to
just purchasing a PC. If you are a person who doesn t have much time to invest into a project like this,
then I think buying a computer would be a smart route for you. However, if time isn t an issue, then
building your own PC can be a fun, price beneficial project for you. Another risk that comes with
building your own PC is that, you do not have always have a warranty if a computer part fails. Most
products that you buy in which are pre assembled tend to have warranties that take away the risk of
improper use or if something stops working. Also, while you are building the PC, it isn t impossible to
mess up and break something small. This is again where buying a PC has an advantage that is because
professionals are handling the product before you get it. If you were to break something in

media such as this, play the biggest role in the continual propaganda of stereotyping and constructing

Apart from the female leads, the women portrayed in the show rarely have much of a personality, and
the audience can also see the female leads participating in the objectification of other women, and
when they do this they are portrayed through the other character s expression as cool and one of the

one episode he says to two females Slut up , as a play on his own line which is easily one dimensional

reflect, this belief can also be reflected in the costuming of many of the female extras, Barney has a

bodies which projects the image, opposite the the appearance of Barney and his suits, as sexual objects
who should be judged for what they look like rather than what type of person they are. This all ties

An Example Of Representative Democracy In The UK
Democracy means literally rule by people . However, it is a broad and imprecise term. Democracy
refers to political systems in which the people are involved in decision making in some way, either
directly or indirectly. Direct democracy is when all individuals express their opinion themselves and
not through representatives acting on their behalf. An example of direct democracy is a referendum.
Representative democracy is a form of democracy in which an individual selects a person (or political
party) to act on behalf to exercise political choice. The UK is an example of a representative
democracy. There are ongoing debates about how democratic the UK is. The UK has a number of
positive democratic features such as; devolved government, independent judiciary, free media, free
and fair elections and a wide range of political parties and pressure groups. However the UK has also
been criticised for having a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where powers have been transferred from the UK parliament in London to the Scottish
parliament in Edinburgh, the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff and the Northern Ireland Assembly in
Belfast. This gives power to the local people to make laws better suited to that area. For example, the
Welsh Assembly made all prescription medicine free as it benefited the poorest in their community.
Therefore, the UK is democratic as power is not held in one place, it is distributed amongst official
government bodies. However, there is still an underrepresentation of minority viewpoints due to the
voting system. The HOuse of Commons is elected by the first past the post system, which produces a
mismatch between the votes cast for UK political parties and the seats that each party wins in
parliament. For example in the 2015 general election, UKIP gained 12.6% of votes but only one seat
in the House of Commons. Therefore, the UK is undemocratic as it does not accurately represent the
views of the

Analysis of Discretionary Fiscal Policy Essay
During discretionary fiscal policy the government spends and taxes to change the economy during a
particular problem. Both Congress and the president have to take action when they agree that the
economy is in need. When they do this they are trying to simulate the economy during a time of
recession. Economists thought discretionary fiscal policy would eliminate the instability of the
recession, however most had given up on the idea by 1980.
The most noticeable discretionary fiscal policy is the discretionary budget. These are the expenditures
calculated in the United States budget that are within the appropriations bills. These are negotiated
between Congress and the president each year. This includes almost all the spending in the ... Show

There are three types of lags recognition lag, administrative lag, and operational lag. From those lags
you must determine if they were an attribute to the failure. Each lag takes time to notice. Recognition
lag measures the state of the economy. This is a resultant from GDP because its not measured neither
quick enough nor easily found. During administrative lag the president and Congress agree on a
course of action. Two legislative bodies must agree and then agree with the president. Congress doesn
t solve problems without any disagreement, and eventually over a period of time they will agree. The
last type of lag is operational lag, this takes time to notice the full impact of a government program or
tax change to have the effect on the economy. This offers the final block and even if both the
president, and Congress agree on time it still takes time for discretionary fiscal policy to have an
effect. The next part of the three fold is that failures can be a result from political motivations that
overwhelm some economic reasons. Finally, the third part of the three fold deals with the immediate
counter effects of the aggregate demand and aggregate supply, which this could either eliminate the
positive intent of the policies either partially or completely. Policy makers noticed in the 1970s that
discretionary fiscal policy couldn t stabilize the economy. The lags were just too important to ignore,
and the recession to be recognized, laws to

Intentional marketing: International marketing is the process of planning and under taking transactions
across national boundaries that involve exchange. Outsourcing is a film directed by Jeff coat. A
comedy talks of conflict between cultures and the romantic era. It revolves around the American
Indian culture. In the film, you can see the characters deal with the issue of outsourcing by exploring
the differences between the American and Indian culture. In dealing with the current trend of
outsourcing, outsourcing captures not only the lives of the new India, but also from the newly
globalized world and the importance of understanding between cultures. It also does a wonderful job
of presenting the beauty of India s cultural and slip for many Americans to travel to such a different

Cultural shock and personal experiences major pass in the film was based largely on the experiences
of John himself during his time abroad. It deals with the issue of outsourcing as well. Otherwise, it
would have been very easy for filmmakers to fall back to the stereotypes while pinning and shoot this
film. Instead, they did a very impressive job of capturing a good and realistic snapshot of

Transformations To Adulthood In Salinger s Catcher In The Rye
That s the whole trouble. You can t ever find a place that s nice and peaceful, because there isn t any.
You may think there is, but once you get there, when you re not looking, somebody ll sneak up and
write Fuck you right under your nose. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and
I have a tombstone and all, it ll say Holden Caulfield on it, and then what year I was born and what
year I died, and then right under that it ll say Fuck you. I m positive, in fact. (204) Holden, in Salinger
s Catcher in the Rye is faced with a series of internal conflicts throughout the story. In the beginning,
Holden is introduced as a very negative adolescent boy who is unwilling to face adulthood, but
throughout the story Holden s character develops and the roots of his depression are revealed. It
becomes clear that Holden is reluctant to growing up and the only thing that gives him any sense of
hope is children. Through this, Salinger creates the question of whether or not Holden matures into
adulthood by the end of the book. In the beginning, Holden is seen as a troubled 16 year old who has
just failed out of Pencey Prep boarding school. Holden has the tendency to negatively criticize things,
which he most famously does by labeling them as phony . He associates the term phony with things
that seem artificial or shallow to him, mostly within adult society. One of the biggest reasons I left
Elkton Hills was because I was surrounded by phonies. That s

Peanut Butter And Hummus Comparison
There are enough small kitchen appliances on the market that, assuming you had the cash, you could
use a different one each night for dinner for an entire year. With this in mind, I ve narrowed down the
most critical ones to the three that I most frequently use. Two of them are very similar, but do very
different things; and the other is a low tech tool that can be used for nearly every meal.
Food processor I have two food processors that I always use. A 3 cup KitchenAid Chef s Chopper and
the 14 cup Cuisinart Custom 14 food processor. Both of them get equal use, but for very different
things. I love to make peanut butter and hummus with the large one, and sauces, dressings, and bread

Sedimentary rocks
Sedimentary rocks are classified by the source of their sediments, and are produced by one or more
processes that follow:
Sedimentary rocks
Clastic sedimentary rocks are composed of fragments of older rocks that have been deposited and
consolidated boulders greater than 25.6 cm cobbles 6.4 to 25.6 cm pebbles 2 mm to 6.4 cm sand 1/16

Sedimentary rocks
Chemical sedimentary rocks form when minerals precipitate from a solution, usually sea water. Halite
and gypsum are examples of minerals that precipitate from aqueous solutions to form chemical
sedimentary rocks.
Biochemical sedimentary rocks are composed of accumulations of organic debris. Coal and some
limestones are examples of biological sedimentary rocks.

Media Representation Of Gay Characters In Tv Shows
Over the last few decades, our society went through a huge transformation in culture, politics and
media that no one else could have foreseen. There is an obvious increase in the acceptance of
homosexuality. Even though lesbian and gay people have gradually moved onto the stage in growing
numbers, there are still some problems exist in the ways that media perpetuate homosexual
stereotypes. According to an article by Chong suk Han, The subjective storytelling found in
journalistic pieces reinforces social inequalities by forstering such feelings of collective belonging
based on class, gender, sexual preference, subcultural lifestyle or whatever (Chong suk Han, 2008).
Nowadays, the media plays an important role in carrying and transforming the new cultural ideas
toward the whole society, few could ignore the existence of lesbian and gay people. In order to prevent
discriminating them from the other groups, more accurate representation of homosexuals should be
provide on the mainstream media. This content analysis paper will focus on analyzing the portrayal of
gay characters in TV shows. The subjects of this analysis are 10 characters from six recent TV shows I
specifically picked form ABC, FOX, CBS and the CW TV. Each of these shows has at least one gay
character that is important elements in the whole storyline. The reason why I picked these six shows is
that I watched every episode of all these shows and I believe my clear understanding of each

The reorganization of the world and the crumbling of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the First

Japanese Canadian Internment During The Beginning Of Wwii
Japanese Canadian Internment WWII
During the beginning of WWII, there were a lot of Japanese Canadians living in Canada, all of which
were either second generation Canadians, Japanese people who had taken Canadian citizenship or
those who were still Japanese nationals. These Japanese Canadians mainly inhabited British Columbia
and smaller villages in the coastal regions of the west coast. Prior to their internment, Japanese
Canadians suffered great prejudice, discrimination and racism. White people were fearful that they
would lose their dominance due to competition in industries such as fishing, farming, markets and
even in education. The Canadian Government created laws stating that Japanese Canadians were not
allowed to vote, they also had fishing and farming permits denied, which were supposed to motivate
them to move back to Japan. On top of that, White people also feared that Japan would attempt to
expand into Canada and take it s natural resources due to Japan s expansionist policies that existed at
the time. On December 7th, 1941, Japanese Air Forces attacked the US forces at Pearl Harbor, pulling
the US into the second world war. On the same day, 50,000 Japanese troops attacked Hong Kong,
which was a British Colony at the time. After events the events at Pearl Harbour, anyone living in

The World Trade Center Bombing Essay
Following the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing, Rescorla invited Hill to New York, where he hired
him as a security consultant in order to assess the building s security. Although no arrests had yet been
made, Rescorla believed that the bomb had been planted by Muslims. Hill went undercover in several
mosques throughout New Jersey, showing up for morning prayers at dawn. He took on the character
of an anti American Muslim, in order to interview the other visitors to the mosques. He concluded that
the attack was likely planned by a radical imam at a mosque in New York or New Jersey. Followers of
Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, a radical Muslim cleric based in Brooklyn, were subsequently convicted
of the bombing.
Rescorla gained much more credibility and authority after the bombing, which resulted in a change to
the culture of Morgan Stanley, which he believed should have moved out of the building because he
felt that the World Trade Center was still a very real target for terrorists. He recommended to his
superiors at Morgan Stanley that the company should leave their Manhattan office space, mentioning
that labor costs were lower in New Jersey and that the firm s employees and equipment would be safer
in a different building. However, this recommendation was not followed as the company s lease at the
World Trade Center was not up until 2006. Due to Rescorla s urging and persistence, all employees,
including senior executives, began practicing emergency evacuations every three

The Hidden History Of The Jfk Assassination
The Hidden History of the JFK Assassination For nearly five decades, historians have debated over
whether or not the John F. Kennedy assassination was from a lone gunman or as part of a bigger
conspiracy cover up. On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was shot as he paraded
through Dallas, Texas. That same afternoon, Dallas police had arrested their suspect, Lee Harvey
Oswald. Oswald, an itinerant ex U.S. marine and self described Marxist Leninist, previously lived in
the Soviet Union prior to his move back to the United States. However, within days of his arrest,
Oswald was dead. Oswald was murdered by Jack Ruby on national television in the basement of a
Dallas police station. Historians, through the years, have stated that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone
and for himself, while others have maintained that Kennedy was killed as part of a wider cover up.
The Warren Commission Report was established by Lyndon Johnson, Kennedy s successor, to further
investigate Kennedy s assassination. After nearly a yearlong investigation, the commission, led by
Chief Justice Earl Warren concluded that alleged gunman Lee Harvey Oswald had acted alone in
assassinating America s 35th President, and that there was no conspiracy, either domestic or
international, involved. Despite its seemingly firm conclusions, the report proved controversial and
failed to silence conspiracy theories surrounding the event. Historians have held dramatically different

Injury plague in the NFL catalyst for greater innovation
The game of football is still in its infancy. The invention of the forward pass and its official adoption
in 1906 is proof positive that fundamentally the game has room to advance. By all accounts, the
forward pass was the invention that saved the game of football after a great rugby player from Yale in
the 1880s, Walter Camp, pioneered rules changes that slowly transformed rugby into the new game of
American Football. Birth of Pro Football
Player safety has been the catalyst for football evolution. A fact currently supported by the NFL s 1st
and Future initiative dealing with this very topic and others. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell
@nflcommish gets booed often but, in my opinion, he was right to legislate the violent hits out of the
NFL.
The wave of change has now begun and history seems to be repeating itself. Former NFL players
settled a 1 billion dollar lawsuit that accused the NFL of hiding the risks of repeated concussions in
order to return players to the field. The deal avoids the need for a trial and means the NFL might never
have to disclose what it knew, and when.
Safety innovation remarkable influence on the NFL s killer past

over 120 years ago. After several serious and fatal injuries resulting from close formation offenses,
protests came from men in high places...even President Theodore

The Civil War And The Emancipation Proclamation Essay
Life for was harsh and arduous following up towards gaining freedom and after becoming a liberated
for many African Americans during the 19th century. But soon after the political, social, and economic
effects of slaves getting their freedoms back many bills or propositions were made to oppose the
reform movement. The context of the time period was pre civil war and during the early 19th century
where many large movements in religion, economy and social class were taking place and coming to
fruition. It also took place afterwards of the civil wars and the emancipation proclamation. This was
also the time period where many people in began to view slavery as an inhumane practice, a good
chunk of the people who opposed slavery were usually in the northern part of the united states and
were civil rights activists. The Fugitive Slave Acts were a pair of federal laws that allowed for the
capture and return of runaway slaves within the territory of the United States. Enacted by Congress in
1793, the first Fugitive Slave Act authorized local governments to seize and return escaped slaves to
their owners and imposed penalties on anyone who aided in their flight. Widespread resistance to the
1793 law later led to the passage of the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, which added further provisions
regarding runaways and levied even harsher punishments for interfering in their capture. The Fugitive
Slave Acts were among the most controversial laws of the early 19th century, and many Northern

The Bebop and Cool Jazz Eras of the 40’s and 50’s Essay
Jazz music of the 1940 s and 1950 s was defined by a history of change since its beginning at the
dawn of the 20th century. Almost every decade brought a new flavor to the movement, and by the
1940 s jazz had developed into a mature, complex form of music, with many nuances and avenues for
continued change. It is important to trace the early movements in jazz to better understand the
innovations of the Bebop and Cool jazz eras of the 40 s and 50 s.
The first appearance of jazz was at the turn of the century in New Orleans and is called Dixieland
Jazz, or Classic Jazz. It developed out of music for street parades in the black community. It also had

This more stable style invited dance, and the swing era is also associated with a dance craze, carried
out in dance halls and clubs. Duke Ellington got his start in the swing era, as one of the earliest
musicians to create the big band effect (Verve).
World War II changed the jazz world again and influenced the development of Bebop. As the war took
away many of the musicians that made up the big band groups of the swing era, a new style emerged
that again used smaller groups and younger musicians. Some musicians who got their start in this way
include Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz and Red Rodney (Verve).
The Bebop era marked an important change the style of jazz music. Due to the smaller size of the
bands, there was more room for improvisation, and the music began to take on more complicated
dimensions than it had seen thus far. During the swing era, jazz had been associated with dancing, and
was played in dance halls and cabarets. In the Bebop era, it began to move away from this function
and began to develop more complicated tempos and melodies (Verve).
Jazz was still growing in the 1950 s and began to incorporate the innovations of the Bebop era with
the more melodic elements of the earlier eras. The result was a period called the Cool period. The jazz
of the Cool period favored a more even beat and softened the sounds of the instruments

The Law Of Supply And Demand
What is the law of supply and demand? They are theories explaining an interaction between the supply
of a source and a demand for that resource. The law of supply and demand defines the availability of a
particular product and the demand for that product has on the price. If there is a lower supply and a
higher demand, the price will be high, but the greater the supply and lower the demand, the lower the
price will be for the product. This is an environment where buyers and sellers interact to exchange
goods, the price of which is determined by both supply and demand for them.
What is the law of demand? Law of demand is the rule that holding everything else constant, when the
price of a product falls, the quantity demanded of the product will increase, and when the price of a
product rises, the quantity demanded of the product will decrease. The consumers will buy more
goods when the price falls and less of any other good when the price rises. This leads into the
substitution effect and income effect because if the price of a product falls, the consumers buy a larger
quantity. For the substitution effect, the change in the quantity demanded of a good that results from a
change in price making the good is more or less expensive relative to other goods that are substitutes.
For example, when the price of an android falls, people will substitute buying androids for other goods
like an iPad and another cell phone. The income effect however, has a changes in the quantity

(Allen) These numbers were based on a deal Antonio Freeman made with the Green Bay Packers.
Galloway s case was that he had put up comparable if not better numbers over the previous four
seasons. Galloway, From 1995 1998 has had 261 receptions, 4122 receiving yards, 36 receiving
touchdowns not including 4 punt returns for touchdowns. Freeman s numbers over the same period of
time were 229, 3706, and 36 TD s respectively. (The Topps Company)
With neither side was willing to bend, the Seahawks and Galloway created an awful situation. The
Seahawks were without their best receiver. Each side of this situation stated they wanted to resolve
this matter but nothing was done. Galloway should be commended for sticking to his game plan. He is
arguably one of the top five receivers in the NFL if not the better and should hold out if he believes he

In Galloway s existing contract there is a clause that states that if Galloway were to hold out the entire

can leave after the 1999 season is if the Seahawks were to trade him. Knowing this, and also seeing
how well the team is doing without him through October of 1999. Galloway elected to come back to

Jean Piaget s Theory of Development
Jean Piaget s theory is basically cognitive and developmental and most of his studies were based on
his three children, he called this the clinical method. This method was used in interviews with patients
by asking them questions and observing their behaviour. Whilst using this method he learnt that
children under 7 years use different principles to base their judgments on compared to older children.
Piaget would use the interview responses for following questions he could ask. The method at first did
not receive much support because it was considered too subjective by other theorists. Today however,
the theory is considered the most comprehensive on intelligential development. One of Piaget s main
concepts was the Schema . Piaget define ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has also been noted that today substantial bodies of experiments on sound literature have been
formed. The lack of clarity in the development of key concepts and the absence of defined
experimental tests of these key concepts has also been criticized as a similar analysis of other key
concepts could be given, this relates to Piaget s concept of stages which is central to most of his work
and is now important in developmental psycholinguistics. we shall distinguish three stages
corresponding to the usual three levels. During stage 1, there are no seriations in the strict sense. The
child s constructions are intermediate between classification and seriation. During stage 2 there is a
seriation but only according to one of the criteria, or else the child switches from one criterion to the
other...Finally during stage three (starting 7 8 years) the child reaches a multiplicative arrangement
based on the twofold seriation of the set of elements. (Piaget,J, B,Inhelder 1969). This quote show
little indication that the matters in which Piaget discusses could be different or that a child s
development could be incremental and continuous, some theorists have also suggested that his theory
of stages could be an artificial device which has no scientific content, and so they question whether a

more formal tone which establishes more power distance. A Canadian focus is only on the products

Business letters in America use economics, nationalistic and patriotic sensibilities to sell their products

Theme Of The Metamorrphosis And It s A Wonderful Life
The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and the movie It s a Wonderful Life, directed by Francis Copra,
don t seem to have a lot in common at first glance. One is an old novella taught in literature classes,
and the other is a Christmas movie, but if you look closer you can see they share common themes of
unhappiness, transformation, and dependence on family support. In both The Metamorphosis and It s a
Wonderful Life the main characters are unhappy in their lives, and go through a transformation where
they see what their lives are like without them. We will examine the characters, the journeys they went
through, and the different outcomes of similar experiences. George s transformation in It s a
Wonderful Life starts with James Steward s character George s unhappiness. His job, which he never
wanted to get stuck with in the first place, is going bad, and he feels like nothing he does makes any
difference. He is about to get blamed for something he didn t do and is backed into a corner. This is
when George s transformation begins. His unhappiness is compounded when his business is failing
and he is blamed. He is threatened with prison and ruin. He is unable to keep it together for Christmas
Eve. He sees his life as a life of sacrifice for his friends, family, and the good of the town, and he sees
it as all for nothing. All his efforts are leading to his ruin. When he goes home after the money is
missing, and after realizing all the implications that are attached to that, the stress is compounded by
his family. His daughter is sick, the piano is playing the same thing over and over. He is bombarded
with questions and the problems pile up until he loses his temper. He feels that he has the weight of
the world on his shoulders and it is all crashing down. Nothing he does is good enough, and nothing
he has done would stop him from going to prison if he couldn t come up with money. That is when he

Questioning The Memoirs Of A Geisha
The word stereotype is today almost always a term of abuse. This stems from the wholly justified
objections of various groups in recent years, blacks, women and gays, in particular to the ways in
which they find themselves stereotyped in the mass media and in everyday speech. (Dyer, 1993) It has
been ages that Americans media have defined the Asian images to around the whole world. Many of
them that shaped that image usually have little or no understanding of the asian culture, its people and
its countries, hence the stereotype. Traditionally, the mass media in Hollywood does not have a

Punk Rock Is A Unique And Changing Musical Genre
Punk rock is a unique and changing musical genre that was born in both England and the United
States in the late 1970s. A great music scene with a reliance on rejecting the norms of societies,
defiance of capitalism and consumption, heavy reliance on community, and a strong attitude of do it
yourself and self empowerment, punk continues to have a large influence on the contemporary music
scene. Punk rock, however, has faced problems when dealing with the ideals of sex and gender. Bands
within the scene are usually composed of males, women are objectified in song lyrics, and masculine
values like aggressiveness and violence are often glamorized, especially in sub genres of punk such as
hardcore punk. But women have managed, especially through the Riot Grrrl movement, to stake out
their own patch of punk rock territory. They have used punk rock to redefine concepts of gender and
sexuality in such as way that empowers them and gives them choices in life, rather than having values
being forced upon them.
To situate concepts of gender in punk rock, a brief look must be given to the history of punk rock.
Punk started in the late 1970 s, primarily in New York and London. The New York bands were
influenced by artists such as the New York Dolls, Patti Smith, and The Stooges, with the London
bands being influenced by glam rock artists such as David Bowie and Mott the Hoople; as well as pub
rock performers such as the 101ers. The punk movement flourished briefly between 1976 and

  • 2. Under Armour Is The Third Biggest Sportswear Brand Of The... Problem Identification: Under Armour is the second biggest sportswear brand in the US losing the first place to Nike. It is a great accomplishment for Under Armour considering the fact that the company was established in 1996. Nevertheless, Under Armour does not have a well known name so that people will actually consider it to have a real possibility to create a threat to Nike and surpass them at some point. Under Armour faces many competitors besides Nike, like Adidas, Reebok, and Puma. While Under Armour makes exceptional products that are of similar quality, what makes Nike so much stronger of a company? A main problem identified was that Under Armour does not have much international revenue compared to its counterpart Nike, and Under Armour does not try to send a message with their clothes. They just want to sell them. In fact, according to 247wallst.com, Nike had an international revenue quarter of about $7 billion while Under Armour saw a quarterly revenue of $610 million. External Environment: One of the strongest sides of Under Armour is its outstanding technological development. Under Armour has made many strides in technology of their products. For example, Under Armour has begun using a waterproof and water resistant material. One of the most notable major changes in technology Under Armour is working on is the use of a touch screen in the arm of a sleeve for instant access to information, whether it is heart rate monitor or simply social media and music. All research for this paper was conducted using the text required for the fall semester of Developmental Psychology (offline) and using the internet. While some see the movie as just a depiction of normal teenage life with an overbearing parent, there are many notable psychological stages, and even disorders present throughout. Without having done research to discover these, it would be easy to look over them, but once pointed out, they are more than obvious. It is interesting to see how they were put into the movie without making it the main theme of the movie itself. This paper will define those psychological findings, explain them, and locate them within the actual movie. 10 Things I Hate About You The movie 10 Things I Hate About You(1999) is a film that was based off of William Shakespeare s The Taming of the Shrew that was a popular play in the 16th ... Challenges can be cross training, experienced employee hiring, and the stopping of trained employee removal. The new person in the position had no experience in the area. It became stressful for everyone that was involved. Others were having to pick up the slack in work that this person did not understand. Even though no one was totally qualified, there were others that did understand the area better than the person that was promoted. The next example that I will write about is the management of some of the clinics in the system. The issue has been that no one has managed the clinics long. Usually the management is let go due to poor outcome. People that had been hired have always wanted to make drastic changes and expect to see results quickly. Of course, it takes time and steps to see the results that new management expects to see. The last example that I would like to discuss is the effects of software transitions. We are currently in the middle of a software installation. In order for this to occur, many of the system employees have changed over to the software implementation team. Mythology and Archetypes in Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird Of all the various approaches to criticism, the Mythological/Archetypal achieves the greatest impact over the entire literary scope, because the themes and patterns unearthed apply universally to all works, yielding results that can be applied to a great many texts. This is because the very nature of the Mythological/Archetypal approach is the exploration of the canon for widespread and pervading symbols, plots, and characters. These are all greatly extant in Harper Lee s classic novel To Kill a Mockingbird, an extraordinary examination of the Depression era South through the eyes of a young girl with rare intelligence and insight, living in a small town ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through Tom, the legal and social rights of the entire community are called into question. Tom s injury, therefore, represents the injury of all the people he epitomizes. These symbols can be illustrated many places elsewhere in the literary canon. For example, the archetypal character of the crippled man symbolizing a crippled society can be perceived in the character of Benjy Compton in William Faulkner s tremendously symbolic novel The Sound and the Fury; Benjy, who is severely mentally challenged, has no concept of time and is preyed upon by vulturous members of his world, including his black care giver and his older brother Jason. Benjy represents Faulkner s conception of the decaying Southern gentility; that the sense of time is skewed (with its emphasis on the conservative old ways and the antebellum morality, the South, like Benjy, is living in a mixed world of past and present which is largely responsible for its failure and decline) and that its fate is beyond its control. Harper Lee s use of Tom Robinson is very similar: the arm, destroyed by a cotton gin (possibly symbolizing the damaging mechanization of modern society), represents the black communities lack of power and strength; however, all is not negative: Tom has a ... Describe And Explain Ethanol Catabolism Pathways In Humans, Describe and explain ethanol catabolism pathways in humans, the metabolic effects of excessive alcohol consumption and describe the long term treatment and prognosis of this disease. Ethanol is a small two carbon molecule, referred to as alcohol (1, 4); it comes from the fermentation of grains such as cane sugar molasses etc. Fermentation is the process by which a substance such as carbohydrates for example, sugars are turned into alcohol by the action of microorganisms such as yeast, that eventually dies as alcohol levels rise during fermentation (1). Upon consumption and digestion of alcohol, different metabolic pathways are triggered to aid in elimination. Therefore, after alcohol is swallowed, it is absorbed primarily from the small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Oxidation of ethanol to acetaldehyde involves NAD+, an intermediate electron carrier, reduced by two electrons to form NADH (2). The oxidation of alcohol therefore, involves the generation of a cytosolic environment, which is extremely reduced in liver; this in turn leaves the cells of the liver cells in a condition that is highly susceptible to damage from the by products of ethanol metabolism, such as acetaldehyde and free radicals (2, 4). The second oxidative pathway involved in metabolising ethanol induced by individuals who chronically consume alcohol, is the microsomal ethanol oxidising system (MEOS), which involves a cytochrome P450, to be specific, the CYP2E1 isozyme, which is mainly present in the microsome and requires the electron carrier NADPH+ instead of NAD+ as for ADH (4). The induction of CYP2E1 by excessive alcohol consumption plays a vital role in metabolizing ethanol to acetaldehyde at elevated levels of ethanol concentrations (2, 3, 4). In addition to CYP2E1, inducing ethanol oxidation in the liver, CYP2E1¬ dependent ethanol oxidation may also occur in other tissues, such as the brain, where there is low levels of ADH activity. CYP2E1 also produces ROS, which increase the risk of tissue damage. Induction of the MEOS pathways, which involves CYP2E1, can lead to the production ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Here are some things to look out for before you make your final decision. We will start with some of the risks with building a computer. Obviously you have to risk your time. I advise that you spend quite a while to investigate which parts of the computer will be budget friendly and efficient. You will also have to wait for the parts that you ordered to ship in. Although it only takes about 45min 1hr to build the computer. It can be a lengthy wait as opposed to just purchasing a PC. If you are a person who doesn t have much time to invest into a project like this, then I think buying a computer would be a smart route for you. However, if time isn t an issue, then building your own PC can be a fun, price beneficial project for you. Another risk that comes with building your own PC is that, you do not have always have a warranty if a computer part fails. Most products that you buy in which are pre assembled tend to have warranties that take away the risk of improper use or if something stops working. Economists thought discretionary fiscal policy would eliminate the instability of the recession, however most had given up on the idea by 1980. During administrative lag the president and Congress agree on a course of action. Two legislative bodies must agree and then agree with the president. Congress doesn t solve problems without any disagreement, and eventually over a period of time they will agree. The last type of lag is operational lag, this takes time to notice the full impact of a government program or tax change to have the effect on the economy. Japanese Canadian Internment During The Beginning Of Wwii Japanese Canadian Internment WWII During the beginning of WWII, there were a lot of Japanese Canadians living in Canada, all of which were either second generation Canadians, Japanese people who had taken Canadian citizenship or those who were still Japanese nationals. These Japanese Canadians mainly inhabited British Columbia and smaller villages in the coastal regions of the west coast. Prior to their internment, Japanese Canadians suffered great prejudice, discrimination and racism. White people were fearful that they would lose their dominance due to competition in industries such as fishing, farming, markets and even in education. The Canadian Government created laws stating that Japanese Canadians were not allowed to vote, they also had fishing and farming permits denied, which were supposed to motivate them to move back to Japan. On top of that, White people also feared that Japan would attempt to expand into Canada and take it s natural resources due to Japan s expansionist policies that existed at the time. Hill went undercover in several mosques throughout New Jersey, showing up for morning prayers at dawn. He took on the character of an anti American Muslim, in order to interview the other visitors to the mosques. He concluded that the attack was likely planned by a radical imam at a mosque in New York or New Jersey. Followers of Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, a radical Muslim cleric based in Brooklyn, were subsequently convicted of the bombing. Rescorla gained much more credibility and authority after the bombing, which resulted in a change to the culture of Morgan Stanley, which he believed should have moved out of the building because he felt that the World Trade Center was still a very real target for terrorists. He recommended to his superiors at Morgan Stanley that the company should leave their Manhattan office space, mentioning that labor costs were lower in New Jersey and that the firm s employees and equipment would be safer in a different building. Kennedy assassination was from a lone gunman or as part of a bigger conspiracy cover up. On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was shot as he paraded through Dallas, Texas. That same afternoon, Dallas police had arrested their suspect, Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald, an itinerant ex U.S. marine and self described Marxist Leninist, previously lived in the Soviet Union prior to his move back to the United States. However, within days of his arrest, Oswald was dead. Oswald was murdered by Jack Ruby on national television in the basement of a Dallas police station. Historians, through the years, have stated that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and for himself, while others have maintained that Kennedy was killed as part of a wider cover up. The Warren Commission Report was established by Lyndon Johnson, Kennedy s successor, to further investigate Kennedy s assassination. After nearly a yearlong investigation, the commission, led by Chief Justice Earl Warren concluded that alleged gunman Lee Harvey Oswald had acted alone in assassinating America s 35th President, and that there was no conspiracy, either domestic or international, involved. As the war took away many of the musicians that made up the big band groups of the swing era, a new style emerged that again used smaller groups and younger musicians. Some musicians who got their start in this way include Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz and Red Rodney (Verve). The Bebop era marked an important change the style of jazz music. • 36. The Law Of Supply And Demand What is the law of supply and demand? They are theories explaining an interaction between the supply of a source and a demand for that resource. The law of supply and demand defines the availability of a particular product and the demand for that product has on the price. If there is a lower supply and a higher demand, the price will be high, but the greater the supply and lower the demand, the lower the price will be for the product. This is an environment where buyers and sellers interact to exchange goods, the price of which is determined by both supply and demand for them. What is the law of demand? Law of demand is the rule that holding everything else constant, when the price of a product falls, the quantity demanded of the product will increase, and when the price of a product rises, the quantity demanded of the product will decrease. The consumers will buy more goods when the price falls and less of any other good when the price rises. This leads into the substitution effect and income effect because if the price of a product falls, the consumers buy a larger quantity. For the substitution effect, the change in the quantity demanded of a good that results from a change in price making the good is more or less expensive relative to other goods that are substitutes. For example, when the price of an android falls, people will substitute buying androids for other goods like an iPad and another cell phone. One is an old novella taught in literature classes, and the other is a Christmas movie, but if you look closer you can see they share common themes of unhappiness, transformation, and dependence on family support. In both The Metamorphosis and It s a Wonderful Life the main characters are unhappy in their lives, and go through a transformation where they see what their lives are like without them. George s transformation in It s a Wonderful Life starts with James Steward s character George s unhappiness. A great music scene with a reliance on rejecting the norms of societies, defiance of capitalism and consumption, heavy reliance on community, and a strong attitude of do it yourself and self empowerment, punk continues to have a large influence on the contemporary music scene. Punk rock, however, has faced problems when dealing with the ideals of sex and gender.
