UTRGV Case Study
The current business process of UTRGV, specifically, of course delivery is to deliver classes via two
main means. They are the traditional method of face to face and virtually through Blackboard.
However, this current process is in need of great improvement after the UTPA and UTB merger. That
is, due to the vast distance separating both campuses, students are in need of a third course delivery
option. Students need an option that enables them to take all their classes from one single location. As
of right now, students must decide to take their classes face to face at the Edinburg and/or
Brownsville. However, the problem is that some classes are exclusively offered at one and not both
campuses. Currently, the way around this problem is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where information technology can be used to improve such process. Currently, students must
choose from two primary methods. They are face to face and online respectively. Yet, with the use of
information technology, UTRGV is able to implement and offer students a third option. This option
will be better suited to meet the needs of two across both the Edinburg and Brownsville campuses. It
is through the usage of the online meeting and videoconferencing application WebEx that a third
course delivery method is able to be offered. Through WebEx, professors are able to live streamed
(and record) their lectures across both campuses. Specifically, professors are able to share their
screens and hold an interactive lecture where all the students (even those 70 miles away) are able to
contribute and ask questions. Without question, this is of great advantage to students especially when
only one course section is being offered. It will eliminate unnecessary travel time and costs which
could be put to better productive use elsewhere. For a visual representation of the new business
process, please see Figure 1: Business Process Analysis of UTRGV Course

Tom Monaghan Research Paper
Tom Monaghan Co Founder of Domino s Pizza Personal Life Tom Monaghan was the first born to the
family of Francis and Anna, after being given birth to in the year 1937, 25th March in Michigan City.
On Christmas Eve, 1941, Monaghan s father, a truck driver, passed on from an infection of the muscle
tissue covering the abdomen, devastating the family s financial situation. Monaghan s mother was left
with only her job, earning $27.50 per week, to provide for the family. His mother unable to withstand
the circumstances, decided to place both her sons into the first of a series of foster homes, while she

college and drop outs, he never lost hope of his dream. This trait made him to look as one of the most
persevering person ever seen. This trait portrayed by Tom is one of its kind that should be emulated by
the youths today since the challenges faced by the youths worldwide today are the same ones Tom

Speech On The Atomic Age
On December 8, 1953 Dwight D. Eisenhower delivered an address before the Members of the General
Assembly voicing his concern for the Global Nuclear Arms Race, calling for a resolution. Initially,
only the United States possessed atomic weapons, however in the year 1949 the Soviet Union
detonated an atomic bomb, sparking the nuclear arms race. The addressment bolstered by the
addemance of Eisenhower s call for a cease of Nuclear arms production, calling for the ownership of
these devices to be placed into the hands of those whom are to strip the device, acclimating them to a
peaceful environment, one in which we are capable of harnessing the very power that could have
wrought them to desolation, into the next age. Eisenhower s speech, entitled ... Show more content on

The During The Revolutionary War
During the rages leading up to the Revolutionary War, the multiple acts of parliament, such as the
Sugar and Stamp Acts, were used as tools over the colonies and kindled the hatred of the Crown for
the majority of the colonists, thus sparking the flame needed to begin the Revolutionary War. From the
very beginning of the colonization of North America by Great Britain, the colonies were looked down
upon by the so thought higher ups of the English parliament and people. After England s war with
France, the so called The Great War for Empire , and the subsequent money loss, Britain had to find a
source of funds, and quickly. There was no better place for England s lost funds to be recovered than
from the pockets of their small, defenseless colonies. As such, the English Parliament enacted the
Molasses Act. The Molasses Act, imposed on the English Colonies in 1733, was the answer to money
lost in England s war with France. This put a sixpence per gallon tax (equivalent to $0.09 American
Dollars; which was a lot in 1764) on all molasses, sugar, and rum coming in or out of the American
Colonies so that Britain could keep their finger on the pulse of the American market. This act did
almost nothing to appease the British, because very few Americans actually bought molasses after the
act passed, smuggling it in instead. (2) As the Molasses Act failed, George Grenville, the then prime
minister of Great Britain, came up with the Sugar Act. The Act was passed in 1764. It reduced

Holden Caulfield Rejection
As most teenagers and young adults would agree, growing up is a difficult task to which no alternative
is present. Every person must grow up and lose much of the innocence they had as youth, no matter
how badly one may want to hold on to it. Holden Caulfield, an expert catcher in the rye , seems to
think he can thwart time and the natural progression to adulthood by keeping as boyish and innocent
as he possibly can. He tries to find acceptance among his peers and his teachers, only to be met with
rejection after rejection of his refusal to adulthood. He is, every so often, met with acceptance of his
insistence on staying in high school. In the novel, The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield is met
with rejections from his peers, such as Robert Ackley, and his teachers, such as Mr. Spencer; despite
this, he succeeds in receiving acceptance from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

his wife give Holden a place to sleep and some coffee. Mr. Antolini talks over Holden s life and

outright humiliating fashion like Mr. Spencer. Holden feels, because of this, that Mr. Antolini accepts
him where he is, even if he does not approve of all that Holden is doing. Holden is content to have
finally found some place to stay where he can be safe and welcomed. A short while later, Holden finds
that his approval from Mr. Antolini reaches a little farther than Holden had thought when he wakes up
to find Mr. Antolini petting his hair. Finally, Holden rejects someone else and leaves Mr. Antolini,
unnerved by the encounter. He had finally found another who accepted and cared for him without
dwelling on his actions, but he did not find comfort in this for very

Poverty And The Effects Of Poverty
As a community guided by God, the Catholic Church is continually challenging its members and other
global communities to unite through charity, justice and subsidiarity to improve the livelihood of those
supressed by poverty. By definition, such poverty is detrimental to human rights outlined in the
Catholic Social Teachings (CSTs), and consequently, the Church has sought immediate aid for these
people. Due to the cyclical nature of poverty, actions of justice are also being encouraged to sustain its
reversal. Ideologies of benefactor supremacy aim to be inhibited through humility and the
implementation of citizen led strategies to eradicate poverty. However, the human nature presents
recurrent barriers, deterring the success of social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These three principles decide the approach of the Church in the goal of poverty eradication.
Social justice begins with charity. Charity or the love [of] God above all things for his own sake, and
our neighbour as ourselves for the love of God (CCC 1822) calls Catholics to prioritise the needs of
the poor over those of the able to preserve dignity and protect life. Hence, charity is an enactment of
social justice. The invincibility of poverty stems from its ability to self propagate (Townsend 1979).
As a result, charity makes a worthy opponent as love grows through love (DCE 18) mimicking this
source of power. In addition, charity embraces truth (CIV 1) which supports education, the central
aspect of poverty reduction (Awan et.al. 2011; Cleveland 2014). From an academic perspective, above
all, the economic plight of the poor must be addressed to prevent human suffering. Maslow s
hierarchy of needs indicates that opportunity is debilitated (and poverty is induced) primarily when
physiological needs are withdrawn (Maslow 1943), justifying economic poverty to be the single most
urgent ... claim on the conscience (EJFA 86). Such warrants the inaction of financial relief (i.e.
mainstream charity) which the church has been involved in as the largest charitable organisation
(Regnerus 1998), contributing approximately six billion dollars annually (Paton 2017). Since God is
love (1 John

The Archetype Of Women In The Victorian Era
During the Victorian period, upper and middle class men and women existed in different spheres of
life: the private sphere, and the public sphere. The private sphere, which included taking care of the
home, entertaining guests, and raising children was dominated by women. Meanwhile men were
superior in the public sphere, where they took part in politics and business. This lead to the archetypes
of women being fragile and motherly, controlled by their emotions, and of men being rational and
strong. Social norms, supported by laws, viewed women as relative creatures that were below men in
the natural hierarchy and only defined in reference to men. These two ideas towards women created a
gap of equality for women and constricted them to their sphere of domesticity. The suffrage
movement, followed by the first and second waves of feminism gave rise to many civil rights for
women, narrowing the gap of inequality. The quest for equality continues today, as these two spheres
begin to merge, due to the rise in social media and the subsequent decreasing private life, and women
gain more influence in the public sphere. While the forms of inequality are different and an issue for
both genders, the Victorian ideas are still present and prominent today.
When marrying, Victorian women forfeited all their rights to property and estate, a problem that still
exists in developing countries today. As Edward Raymond Turner mentions in his account of the
women s suffrage movement, On

This is can be extrapolated. by this quote spoken by Mitch Rapp, You put Victor in with us, and his
job is to tempt us into making mistakes, (Flynn 135). The situation that prompted Mitch to say this
occurred during training. Victor was part of the group of trainees, but he was different from the rest.
He was always breaking the rules and trying to convince others to break the rules as well.
Furthermore, the instructors would also glance at Victor more often than they would look at the other
initiates. With just this information Mitch was able to break through Victor s guise and figure out that
he was an undercover instructor. Mitch was also able to conclude that Victor was trying to determine
who the weak trainees were. Being able to do this took an enormous amount of logical thinking and
awareness. When this information is paired with the fact that Mitch was constantly tired and underfed
from training as well as being viciously gibed at by the instructors, it is incredible how he was able to
piece together the clues to discover that Victor was undercover. Additionally not only was Rapp smart
enough to figure this out, but he was also confident enough to call out an instructor on this. Ultimately,
Mitch is able to form strong hypotheses because he is a sponge, constantly observing and absorbing
information around him ☺ (metaphor). This leads to

PATH Supports the Health of Developing Countries
There are many organizations out there directed at the support and health of struggling developing
countries around the globe. PATH is one of the leaders at the forefront as an International Non
governmental Organization focused as their slogan says Driving transformative innovation to save
lives (PATH). This 40 year old organization that was started in the mid 1970s by Gordon Duncan,
Rich Mahoney, and Gordon Perkin Focusing on the distribution of contraceptive technologies and
supplies has grown to a multi divisional non profit organization. PICAT or Program for the
Introduction and Adaptation of Contraceptive Technology, emerged from a small apartment in Seattle
with a donation from the Ford foundation, has become the international organization known as PATH.
This Organization with it s Growth continues to outgrow it s name, starting with the expansion away
from only providing access to contraceptives around the world to developing new fields in healthcare
for primarily woman and children in developing countries. As PATH was known as an acronym
meaning Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH FAQs) they are now as of 2014
simply PATH. Their definition of PATH today is transformative innovation that save lives and
improves health, especially among women and children. We stand for accelerating innovation and

An organization is determined by its value and behaviors that subsidize to the exclusive culture and

Today, unlike ever occurred before, public sectors are facing tremendous pressure to adapt to

Therefore, control an organization s culture is one of the difficult challenges for public sectors. Not
only for carrying out practice, but also to the leadership comprising an interlocking set of objectives,
roles, practices, values, communications channels, and customs. The components link together as a

administrators in public sector must assist their employees to recognize these environmental
fluctuations and the need for their adaptation. Undeniably, failure to modify the culture of public

Ottoman s Journey To World War 1
Midterm Ryan Grady The Ottoman entrance to World War One was path that was unavoidable. The
decline of the once great empire had placed the Ottomans in a precarious state, that the only last hope
was war. Certain factors were key in this process, the loss of territories in the late 19th and early 20th
centuries, a burgeoning alliance with the Germans beginning with Kaiser Wilhelm II, and the Empire s
location at the confluence of three continents. The Ottoman journey to war was not only an
inevitability, but also a last ditch effort to restore the former glory of the Empire. With the decline of
the Empire, the Ottomans saw an opportunity to reclaim lost lands. During the late 19th century, the
Empire had experienced great loses that began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Marriage Is The Fundamental Source Of Happiness
Introduction
Middlemarch was written in the years leading up to 1832, during the Reform act, and this act was for
the benefit of middle class people. Male defense of narrowing of options was the female brain was not
equal to the demands of commerce or the professions, and women, simply by virtue of their sex, had
no business mingling with men in a man s world (Altick 54). Contrast with men without the added
profit of a formal education put conditions in front of many Victorian women to find the only
possibility available, marriage as a main occupation. Marriage is one of the important themes in
Middlemarch as most of the characters marry for love and yet marriage still appears unpleasant and
unromantic. Unlike other novels of that time, marriage is not considered the fundamental source of
happiness. An ill advised or not wise marriage between two people who are inherently compatible
never becomes completely tuneful. Marriage is one of the major themes in Middlemarch as, according
to critic Francis George Steiner, both principle plots are case studies of unsuccessful marriage . These
lines give the suggestion that the lives of Dorothea and Lydgate are vacant because of these disastrous
marriages . These lines are asserted more to the case for Lydgate than for Dorothea, who gets a second
chance through her lastly marriage to Will Ladislaw, her first husband s cousin; however, a consent
interpretation of this marriage is dependent upon the character of Ladislaw himself,

Classical Music And The Era Of Music
Introduction
If you were like me, when someone mentioned classical music or music for the heroic era you knew
very little to nothing about the subject. The only thing you knew was that it was music from a long
time ago and that Beethoven was the only artist you could name. So, let me enlighten you on what
classical music is and the era it comes from. The term classical is something that has a wide and long
lasting appeal. In music, when a piece was written from between about 1750 to 1825 it was considered
classical or from the Baroque era. The two most important things in music from this period were order
and balance. After more than 250 years the classical age type of music is still around and very popular.

The composer is Riccardo Muti. On this occasion there was a fair amount of people in attendance.
Attire
In all three performances, the band consisted of professional musicians who definitely played and
sounded like professionals. Their attire of the musician in each piece could be described as formal. In
the first video of Beethoven Overture to Egmont, they seemed to be a little classier when it comes to
their attire. The men wore very nice tuxedos and the women had on black dresses. In the second piece,
the Creatures of the Prometheus their dress attire was not as formal. The observation was made due to
some of the women wearing black dress shirts and dark jeans and the men wearing suits with no
bowtie or tie and no white shirts. In the last video Ludwig van Beethoven s 9th their attire was formal.
They matched the attire of the first performance. The men had on nice tuxedos and the women had on
elegant black dresses.
Egmont Overture
The era that the Beethoven Overture to Egmont piece originates is from the heroic period. The heroic
period is considered to be the middle period, as it was the bridge from the classical era to romanticism.
My review of this concert is positive and I would recommend that anyone watch it. The piece, the
dress, the conducting and the performance space made the video beautiful all around. I had a sense of
delight and happiness after watching Ludwig van

Sand Mining Pollution
Frac Sand Mining: Killing Natural Habitats and Polluting the Environment
I remember walking on the rocky shore of an endless, blue lake and feeling the fresh breeze shield me
from the brutal, summer heat. My Uncle and I used to take out a Piragus canoe and paddle across the
lake s vastness as I peered down into the glassy water and clearly saw the castle rock formations. The
fish quickly swam in and out of their hiding places like swarms of people making their way to work
on a busy New York morning. The lake breathed with life and movement. Rolling green bluffs
encircled the lake, creating a storybook like haven. So many beautiful woodlands and waterways like
this continue to disappear due to the frac sand mining industry. Towering machinery replaces
billowing trees with piles of red, earthy mounds, and the heavy clanking of metal on metal echoes
across the land. Frac mining and fracking scars the land around it indefinitely. I am not an expert on
environmental habitats or the mining industry, but my love for the outdoors and fishing drives me to
investigate the harmful effects of frac sand mining. The frac sand mining industry exploits the
remaining wilderness of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and surrounding states by selfishly polluting
the environment; taking millions of gallons of water from freshwater resources, and disturbing
essential minerals from the ground, thus prohibiting future habitat growth and creating significant
health issues due to a surplus of dust.

Stonestreet uses many production elements to support his characterisation of Cameron in Modern
Family. The use of space around him, and how much of it he uses has a big affect on Cameron s
movement and interactation with other people and things around. Stonestreet s use of movement
allows us to see the obvious attention seeking personality he has. An example of this is when Cameron
and Mitchell are about to leave the toddler play class but Cameron wants to stay back and do the
parent dance . He runs in with his hands flared outwards, as if he has to conceal his excitement. When
he is dancing he moves around, using all of the space around him and makes a effort to intentionally
bump into people. Stonestreet often also holds a prop, most of the time this is to emphasise the hand
movement that he is doing at that time. This conveys the message to audiences that he is a very people
orientated person who like to go above and beyond and likes to be the centre of attention.
Another obvious production element that Stonestreet has used to create Cameron was his physical
appearance. Cameron s clothing is always very decently assembled, showing that he takes pride in
what he is wearing and is emotionally sensitive when it comes to what other think of

atmosphere. The thermosphere is final thermally definitive layer of the atmosphere. In this layer,
temperatures can reach up to up to 725° 1, or 225° C. The thermosphere can be divided on the basis of
chemistry. The lower thermosphere, the ionosphere extends from roughly 80 kilometers, or 50 miles,
too somewhere around 300 to 600 kilometers out. After the ionosphere comes the exosphere. The
exosphere is the second outer layer of the thermosphere. It lies beyond about 500 1,000 kilometers and
is defined by an increasing hydrogen and helium level. This is because the oxygen and nitrogen that
control the lower atmosphere have been broken into ions in the ionosphere. The layer that secedes
from the exosphere is the homosphere. The homosphere is the portion of the lower atmosphere with
almost no Ionization. Finally, the heterosphere, the area in which you get varying mixes of gas
molecules and ions, is the last layer in the thermal structure of our atmosphere. It reaches heights
between 80 and 10,000 kilometers. These layers show the thermal structure of our atmosphere.

Unit 3 Types Of Asexual Reproduction
There are three types of asexual reproduction known as, budding, regeneration, and parthenogenesis.
Budding is the production of new individuals that form from bodies of older animals. Regeneration
can either replace a damaged tissue or form another individual. An example of regeneration is
flatworms. Lastly, parthenogenesis is the development of the offspring from unfertilized eggs. An
example of parthenogenesis is honey bees or ants. In the evolution of sex cells divide because it
replaces cells that have aged and died. Another reason for why cells divide is because it replaces cells
that are lost or damaged known as regeneration. In a cell division chromosomes are replicated and it is

Assignment Tasks Wyndham Hotels Group
Topic: Finance and Funding Executive Summary
In the modern era, travel and tourism industries seem to go beyond the mere need of attracting sizable
visitors by incorporating macroeconomic and non customary variables to earn monetary and non
monetary benefits. Cost is an important aspect of growth and profitability in an organization.
Organizations lose money because of heavy costs and they require decreasing the cost for better
profits. Sale and cost has direct relation because as the sales volume increases, total cost of the entire
production also increases. However, at the same time, as the quantity of sales increases, cost of
production decreases so as to achieve economies of scale. In addition, the assignment elaborated three
key pricing strategies including rack rate, seasonal pricing and Last minute pricing that seemed
appropriate for WHG. Moreover, management accounting information is a process through which an
organization forecasts to improve business decision making. Management accounting information
helps to advice the business ways of moving forward, for example, whether an organization should

Themes In The Cathedral By Raymond Carver
The Cathedral by Raymond Carver is an eye opening short story which focuses on an unnamed
narrator who has a hard time interacting with the world around him, specifically his new visitor. The
narrator is the perfect example of an antihero as he is the central character, but does not exhibit heroic
attributes. In this first person narrative, the narrator speaks of when his wife s old friend, Robert,
comes to visit. After Robert s wife passes on, he stops by the narrator s house for a night while passing
through to visit his family. The theme of the The Cathedral focuses on how although one may be
looking, they may not truly be seeing. When analyzing the narrator of The Cathedral , one can see
how he exemplifies the themes of the short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the narrator continues this way throughout the story, his possessiveness does begin to halter as
he gets to know Robert on a more personal level. Once the climax of the short story arrives, the
narrator s possessive trait somewhat vanishes as he opens his eyes to the world around him. The
narrator is a character who is ignorant. Throughout the story, the narrator demonstrates his narrow
mindedness in many instances especially when it comes to Robert s blindness. Notably, the narrator
speaks of how his assumptions regarding blindness have been adapted from what he has seen within

blindness. From his choice to wear a beard to whether he will be able to eat his dinner on his own, the
narrator comments on Robert s choices. An example of this takes place when the narrator believes
Robert would not smoke due to his blindness. The narrator remembers, having read somewhere that
the blind didn t smoke because, as speculation had it, they couldn t see the smoke they exhaled. I
thought I knew that much and that much only about blind people. (Carver 107). To the narrator s
surprise, Robert does in fact smoke. The narrator s ignorance allowed for him to believe blindness

questions what Robert was wearing explicitly his lack of dark glasses. While thinking on the topic, the

Who Is Responsible For Cleopatra s Downfall
Raina Rodriguez
Cleopatra
Being the most powerful person to rule an area is difficult, but to be female and to be the very last
ruler is even more troubling. Cleopatra, a name known to many, was an Egyptian ruler and last true
pharaoh of Egypt. Cleopatra was born in 69 BC in Alexandria, Egypt to the last dynasty in her family.
Many people have speculated what Cleopatra s ethnicity is, and she very likely has Greek descent and
African background. By the age of 14, Cleopatra had gained joint regent with her father and
eventually after his passing, gained joint monarchy along with her brother, age 10, and herself at the
age of 18. Due to ritual customs, she married her brother and then decided she wanted sole power.

Cleopatra had tried to create a rebellious uprising that had failed and caused her to flee. While in exile,
Pompey was involved in the Roman Civil War, and was eventually killed under Ptolemy s orders; this
was done so Ptolemy could get closer to Julius Caesar. Caesar was presented with Pompey s beheaded
head and was furious because he was the widower of Caesar s only daughter, so, he captured the
Egyptian capital in a rage. This capture meant Ptolemy was dethroned and he was the mediator
between Ptolemy and Cleopatra. Cleopatra had come close to Caesar, causing him to not annex Egypt
and instead help her reclaim the throne. Caesar eventually brought Cleopatra to visit Rome, creating
an outrage due to him being already married. Cleopatra and Julius had a son, Caesarion, who later
succeeded the throne along with Cleopatra. Eventually, Cleopatra went to Italy to build a base for
Caesarion forces, causing her to meet Antony. Antony s conquest of Armenia allowed Cleopatra

Italians Perception of the American West
When people think of the American West they get this dangerous, rich, savage like idea of what it
might be like. In reality the American West is very different in contrast to its perception. Europe and
more specifically Italy are a main source of this impractical view on the American West. Many events
throughout history have given Italy and the region of Europe this idea. The American west is known
for its media success in well known places like Hollywood that use mass media productions like
movies, and television shows to demonstrate this idea that the American West is full of dangerous
cowboys and fame and fortune. In the early mid 20th century a genre of movie was produced called
Spaghetti Western or Macaroni Western . These western films were an important aspect to the views
on the American West throughout history. The way that American Westerns, American Authors and
more broadly Hollywood itself, portrays the American West through its media, and famous movies
gives Italy the perception that the American West is an intimidating place as well as one that people
only dream of. In reality Hollywood was successful at significantly altering what reality is actually
like in the American West.

My Proposed Plan For Life
Holley Lentner Events My Proposed Plan for Life in College While attending the University of North
Florida for my first semester, I have learned several new things about myself, like empathy, through
classes like Honors Colloquium. This class, in particular, has provided me with experiences that will
aid me further along in life, like our service projects. Additionally, through the assignments of this
course I have come to realize the skills and abilities that are in need improvement in order for me to be
successful at the occupation I intend to pursue. My aspiration in life is to earn an honest living by
providing health care to those in need of such attention. With this career path, I believe that I will have
both an exciting and rewarding occupation. Helping those in need by promoting health and preventing
disease is something that I found interesting ever since I was little. For when I was younger, I was in
the hospital quite often for countless reasons, and knowing that I was going to be perfectly okay lead
my impressionable self to gain the utmost respect for those in the healthcare business and eventually
lead me to pursue a career in the field. Ultimately, I feel that this profession will allow for me to
contribute to society and in doing so, I remain confident that I will learn a great deal from an
occupation in health care. For a great man once said, Far and away the best prize that life has to offer

Network Connectivity Issues Can Crop Up At Any Time
Network connectivity issues can crop up at any time and the issues seen could be related to any area of
the network or Internet that a user is connected. There are several programs that could be used to help
determine where the error or issue may reside. The four programs that will be reviewed are ipconfig,
ping, tracert and nslookup. Ipconfig is a program on Windows systems that show network settings for
the network adaptors on the computer system. Microsoft describes ipconfig as Displays all current
TCP/IP network configuration values and refreshes Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
and Domain Name System (DNS) settings ( Ipconfig, n.d.). Running ipconfig without any options will
show the adaptor s IP address, subnet mask and default gateway settings. To gain more information
about the adaptor the /all option should be used (Figure 1). Two items that is important is DCHP
Enabled and the DHCP server. If DHCP Enabled is set to yes, then the IP address is supplied by the
DHCP server. The next program could be used to determine if the host could communicate with the
DHCP server and other hosts or network devices. Ping is used to determine if a host or network device
is reachable on the network. Ping can be thought of like ping pong. The ping command sends out a
request to an IP address and waits for a response. If a host or network device is running, setup to
respond to ping requests and the response is sent within the timeout, then a response

Creation Myth And Orion Essay
My favorite constellation would have to be Orion. I chose this because I ve always thought it would be
cool to be shooting down starry prey while soaring among the stars. Orion is a hunter. He is forever in
the stars hunting down meals and criminals. To me, Orion seemed like a tough guy. He s by himself in
the stars, waiting for someone or something to come his way and end his seemingly endless lonely
universe. That s why I chose Orion and a little information on this great hunter. Now the creation

Orion was one of the males trying to court Artemis. He was a hunter, so that was in his favor. She
accepted him, but only as a friend. She warned him that if he tried to marry her, than she would fight
him until he was out of sight. He agreed, but couldn t help liking her. After all, who wouldn t like her?
Artemis was a feisty, strong hunter, and so was he. They were perfect for each other. Or so he thought.
A few months later, he asked for her hand in marriage, and she refused. Furious and heartbroken,
Orion challenged her to a fight. If he won, she would marry him. If she won, he would be out of her
sights and gone for good. The fight lasted for days. Each of them fought brilliantly, suffering minimal
injuries. Then, on the third day, Artemis took out Orion s eye. After that, Orion fought poorly,
misaiming and throwing himself off balance. Finally, on the seventh day, he surrendered. He stumbled
away from Artemis s camp, and came upon Hephaestus. Hephaestus ended the hunter s pain, healing
his wounds and giving him a laser eye to replace his long gone other. In conclusion, I think no other

Drug Legalization In Canada Essay
Summary
Recently there has been a lot of news surrounding the legalization of Marijuana in Canada. The
legalization is to actually take place in 2017. However, the discussion of this topic has already begun.
Many people are requesting the government to allow pardons on past possession charges. It is their
opinion that if the drug is going to be legalized sooner or later, it is justified to pardon the past
offences. The article even mentions two men whose lives are affected by the criminal record of having
minor narcotics. They both state that they are unable to travel abroad (namely to america), and have
personal issues such as landlords refusing to rent to them. It is their opinion, alongside others, that just
because of a small charge their lives do not need to be affected so much. Especially considering that
the government is going to legalize the drug anyway. The article also mentions how the previous
conservative government made it harder to receive a pardon. Due to this, many people have be unable

The Effect Of Recasts And Prompts On Francophone Learners
Regarding output, Corrective Feedback (CF) caters chance for learners to improve their interlanguage
when interlocutors provide correct input (recast) or attempt eliciting the correct output from learners
(prompt). Ammar and Spada (2006) conducted research to compare the effectiveness of recasts and
prompts on Francophone learners of English at different levels. The study focused on the third person
possessive determiners (his and her) which are problematic to French native speakers. After being
instructed the rule and through some practices, learners would be given either recasts or prompts to
errors regarding his and her, or no CF in the control group. Participants were assessed three times: pre
test, immediate post test and delayed post test. The researchers discovered that instruction and
exposure plus CF are more effective than those without CF. No technique is better than the other since
prompts are more effective than recasts for lower proficiency students while high proficiency students
benefit from both equally. Although the study only focused on the binary forms (either his or her), it
suggested that prompts be applied more to improve lower level learners performance. Interaction is a

A critical issue in Guy de Maupassant s Mother Savage is the gender role of the character Mother
Savage. She is shown to be different from the females who live in the nearby village. The women in
the village are all reliant on others and view Mother Savage as just that, a savage. Mother Savage is
different because she is vengeful and able to plan the death of the soldiers housed with her. She also
lives by herself outside of the village which is odd for women during the time period. Mother Savage

Beer As A Man Who Invented Beer Essay
He was a wise man who invented beer. Plato.
Beer is One of the most widely consumed beverages around the world. According to List 25, An
average American consumes about 23 gallons of the beverage a year, that averages about 27 six packs
or 1 ½ of a kegs which is a lot of beer. Beer was first seen when nomads made beer from grain and
water even before they knew how to make bread. It was considerably cleaner than the water they had
due to the fermentation and alcohol that is created. Then beer evolved over time and became better. In
the early 1800s beer started to become a revolutionary alcohol beverage. In the 1800s there were many

Leaders don t create followers, they create more leaders (Leadership vs. Management: What s the

A leader must be honest. Without honesty, there is no trust. Without trust, no one will believe your

Role Of The Cultural Perspective When Dealing With Conflict
For any international organization, understanding cultural differences is very significant in the global
context. The article analyzes the role and impact of the cultural perspective when dealing with conflict
in the global context. What seems like a perfectly reasonable approach in one culture may seem
ridiculous, disrespectful, inefficient, or unfair to managers from other cultures. Japanese and German
managers may be uneasy with conflict resolution preferences that differ from their own. (Adams,
p.110.) The understanding that organizational and global cultures vary results in the connected
research supported in several businesses in diverse fields.
This research did not only use the preferences of superiors employed in multicultural environments,
when analyzing, but explored the role of each individual s culture in defining a possible resolution. If
managers insist on their cultural preferences as the way to resolve disagreements, more disagreements
will emerge because of misunderstood processes for resolving disagreements. The results of this study
suggest that effective conflict resolution may need to begin with the recognition of different cultural
preferences for resolution strategies. Only then can further attempts at resolution proceed effectively.
In other words, focus on the where before jumping into the how. (Adams, p.110)
Creating a workplace environment that enables employees to flourish includes the recognition that
cultural diversity is important.

How Testing Is Used For Object Oriented Environment
Executive Summary The motivation behind this report is to examine about how testing is done in
object oriented environment. Object oriented programs have an alternate behavior and structure when
contrasted with programs created utilizing technical language. It takes after an information driven
methodology and it is depends on ladder of objects and classes. Classes are only a gathering of objects
that inform properties and connections and objects are elements that stores information send and get
messages. Re usability can be picked up in object oriented programming by making utilization of
features which is polymorphism, inheritance, encapsulation and abstraction. Issues like maintenance
and reuse are explained utilizing OO approach. Although the development is done by people, testing
needs to be carried out to uncover mistakes. As classes team up with one another, OO framework
needs to be tested at various levels. Testing starts by investigating the OOA and OOD models. The
correctness and consistency of the models are analyzed utilizing formal technical reviews and they are
examined in this report. Different types of diagrams, for example, control flow graph, state transition
diagram and class diagram are utilized by the test models. Different testing techniques, for example,
fault based testing, scenario based testing and state based testing strategies are explained in detail.

As noted in a previous journal entry, I had made a trip to Cöthen where the great composer, Johann
Sebastian Bach, is under the service of Prince Leopold. There I heard a recent keyboard transcription
of Bach s. The transcription was of a piece called Concerto in D minor for Oboe, Strings and Basso

There are three Marcello brothers, Alessandro, Benedetto and Girolamo, who were born of nobility
here in Venice. Benedetto is well known for his music. Alessandro composes also but his interests
actually lie more with philosophy, mathematics, history, chemistry, painting and poetry. Alessandro
has a small body of work in music. This is probably due to him being much more of a figure head in
the Venetian government since his father passed away in 1707. Benedetto has a much larger body of
work composing of many instrumental and sacred vocal pieces. I recalled that considering the
academic pursuits of the Marcellos, that it was possible that they were members of the Arcadian
colony. The Arcadians were a new movement of intellectuals that emphasized the respect of artistic
achievement and a return to the Greek ideals that music and poetry worked together. They also wished
to avoid lavish displays and encouraged simplicity. The Arcadians would also use pseudonyms and I
discovered that the pseudonym of Eterio Stinfalico belonged to Alessandro Marcello.
Now that I learned who the true author was, I went to seek out Alessandro. It is typical of nobles such
as the Marcello to conduct concerts in their home. I went to the Palazzo Marcello and discovered a
concert was being performed that had the concerto on its program. The oboist was unknown to me.

The Passage Family Theme
A young girl wanders alone through the barren deserts of what used to be the United States. She has
forgotten how to talk in her isolation, through the decades of her solitary existence. She has forgotten
the man who saved her, an FBI agent who risked everything to be her father. All she knows was that
he was the one who truly cared about her. In the science fiction novel The Passage, by Justin Cronin,
the unique idea of family is explored in depth. The author beautifully illustrates how family can be
found in the most unexpected places, even when everything you ve ever known is falling down around

affordable, and blissfully absent of chemical substances you can t pronounce ! To make your own
personal, Low Dog suggests melting ½ c of coconut oil at a really low heat. Pour it over 1 c of brown
sugar or even salt and mix well. For those who have some on hand, include five drops of your favorite

  • 2. UTRGV Case Study The current business process of UTRGV, specifically, of course delivery is to deliver classes via two main means. They are the traditional method of face to face and virtually through Blackboard. However, this current process is in need of great improvement after the UTPA and UTB merger. That is, due to the vast distance separating both campuses, students are in need of a third course delivery option. Students need an option that enables them to take all their classes from one single location. As of right now, students must decide to take their classes face to face at the Edinburg and/or Brownsville. However, the problem is that some classes are exclusively offered at one and not both campuses. Currently, the way around this problem is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is where information technology can be used to improve such process. Currently, students must choose from two primary methods. They are face to face and online respectively. Yet, with the use of information technology, UTRGV is able to implement and offer students a third option. This option will be better suited to meet the needs of two across both the Edinburg and Brownsville campuses. It is through the usage of the online meeting and videoconferencing application WebEx that a third course delivery method is able to be offered. Through WebEx, professors are able to live streamed (and record) their lectures across both campuses. Specifically, professors are able to share their screens and hold an interactive lecture where all the students (even those 70 miles away) are able to contribute and ask questions. Without question, this is of great advantage to students especially when only one course section is being offered. It will eliminate unnecessary travel time and costs which could be put to better productive use elsewhere. On Christmas Eve, 1941, Monaghan s father, a truck driver, passed on from an infection of the muscle tissue covering the abdomen, devastating the family s financial situation. Aside from providing inexpensive and tasty food for millions of people every day, the sheer numbers of his operations have created jobs for thousands of people, from teenagers delivering the pizzas, to professional business executives managing all levels of this world wide operation. Trait Competitive winning is everything as seen in his life history. Despite the many attempts he made to register in college and drop outs, he never lost hope of his dream. This trait made him to look as one of the most persevering person ever seen. This trait portrayed by Tom is one of its kind that should be emulated by the youths today since the challenges faced by the youths worldwide today are the same ones Tom went through. The fact that we may lose our parents at an early age should not discourage us from reaching our set goals in life. They should in fact be a motivating factor to us to harden us and allow us move even further. Having the end in mind for a youth is a very crucial factor. This gives the student a sense of direction and makes them have the ability to plan their future by being schedulers of their priorities and not prioritizers of their schedule. • 4. Speech On The Atomic Age On December 8, 1953 Dwight D. Eisenhower delivered an address before the Members of the General Assembly voicing his concern for the Global Nuclear Arms Race, calling for a resolution. Initially, only the United States possessed atomic weapons, however in the year 1949 the Soviet Union detonated an atomic bomb, sparking the nuclear arms race. The addressment bolstered by the addemance of Eisenhower s call for a cease of Nuclear arms production, calling for the ownership of these devices to be placed into the hands of those whom are to strip the device, acclimating them to a peaceful environment, one in which we are capable of harnessing the very power that could have wrought them to desolation, into the next age. Eisenhower carrying across that the power of atomic weapons increases by the day, while in the meantime the world s population of such contraptions steadily ensues. Eisenhower assists in the audiences visualization of not several, but the effect of (a) single device, derived from humans, that held the capability to eliminate all life. By telling of how mankind has never created a device of such raw controllable power, Eisenhower strategically challenges the fact of questionability of logic of producing said armaments, calling for means of the resolution of the global programs by way of formation of a sub committee to regulate the control until discontinuance. • 5. The During The Revolutionary War During the rages leading up to the Revolutionary War, the multiple acts of parliament, such as the Sugar and Stamp Acts, were used as tools over the colonies and kindled the hatred of the Crown for the majority of the colonists, thus sparking the flame needed to begin the Revolutionary War. From the very beginning of the colonization of North America by Great Britain, the colonies were looked down upon by the so thought higher ups of the English parliament and people. After England s war with France, the so called The Great War for Empire , and the subsequent money loss, Britain had to find a source of funds, and quickly. There was no better place for England s lost funds to be recovered than from the pockets of their small, defenseless colonies. As such, the English Parliament enacted the Molasses Act. The Molasses Act, imposed on the English Colonies in 1733, was the answer to money lost in England s war with France. This put a sixpence per gallon tax (equivalent to $0.09 American Dollars; which was a lot in 1764) on all molasses, sugar, and rum coming in or out of the American Colonies so that Britain could keep their finger on the pulse of the American market. This act did almost nothing to appease the British, because very few Americans actually bought molasses after the act passed, smuggling it in instead. (2) As the Molasses Act failed, George Grenville, the then prime minister of Great Britain, came up with the Sugar Act. The Act was passed in 1764. It reduced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Holden Caulfield Rejection As most teenagers and young adults would agree, growing up is a difficult task to which no alternative is present. Every person must grow up and lose much of the innocence they had as youth, no matter how badly one may want to hold on to it. Holden Caulfield, an expert catcher in the rye , seems to think he can thwart time and the natural progression to adulthood by keeping as boyish and innocent as he possibly can. He tries to find acceptance among his peers and his teachers, only to be met with rejection after rejection of his refusal to adulthood. He is, every so often, met with acceptance of his insistence on staying in high school. In the novel, The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield is met with rejections from his peers, such as Robert Ackley, and his teachers, such as Mr. Spencer; despite this, he succeeds in receiving acceptance from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Antolini. When Holden appears at his door late at night, sad and nowhere else to go, Mr. Antolini and his wife give Holden a place to sleep and some coffee. Mr. Antolini talks over Holden s life and decisions, but he does so in a way that suggests to Holden that he needs to grow up, but not in an outright humiliating fashion like Mr. Spencer. • 7. Poverty And The Effects Of Poverty As a community guided by God, the Catholic Church is continually challenging its members and other global communities to unite through charity, justice and subsidiarity to improve the livelihood of those supressed by poverty. By definition, such poverty is detrimental to human rights outlined in the Catholic Social Teachings (CSTs), and consequently, the Church has sought immediate aid for these people. Due to the cyclical nature of poverty, actions of justice are also being encouraged to sustain its reversal. Ideologies of benefactor supremacy aim to be inhibited through humility and the implementation of citizen led strategies to eradicate poverty. However, the human nature presents recurrent barriers, deterring the success of social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These three principles decide the approach of the Church in the goal of poverty eradication. Social justice begins with charity. Charity or the love [of] God above all things for his own sake, and our neighbour as ourselves for the love of God (CCC 1822) calls Catholics to prioritise the needs of the poor over those of the able to preserve dignity and protect life. Hence, charity is an enactment of social justice. The invincibility of poverty stems from its ability to self propagate (Townsend 1979). As a result, charity makes a worthy opponent as love grows through love (DCE 18) mimicking this source of power. In addition, charity embraces truth (CIV 1) which supports education, the central aspect of poverty reduction (Awan et.al. 2011; Cleveland 2014). From an academic perspective, above all, the economic plight of the poor must be addressed to prevent human suffering. Maslow s hierarchy of needs indicates that opportunity is debilitated (and poverty is induced) primarily when physiological needs are withdrawn (Maslow 1943), justifying economic poverty to be the single most urgent ... claim on the conscience (EJFA 86). Such warrants the inaction of financial relief (i.e. mainstream charity) which the church has been involved in as the largest charitable organisation (Regnerus 1998), contributing approximately six billion dollars annually (Paton 2017). • 8. The Archetype Of Women In The Victorian Era During the Victorian period, upper and middle class men and women existed in different spheres of life: the private sphere, and the public sphere. The private sphere, which included taking care of the home, entertaining guests, and raising children was dominated by women. Meanwhile men were superior in the public sphere, where they took part in politics and business. This lead to the archetypes of women being fragile and motherly, controlled by their emotions, and of men being rational and strong. Social norms, supported by laws, viewed women as relative creatures that were below men in the natural hierarchy and only defined in reference to men. These two ideas towards women created a gap of equality for women and constricted them to their sphere of domesticity. The suffrage movement, followed by the first and second waves of feminism gave rise to many civil rights for women, narrowing the gap of inequality. The quest for equality continues today, as these two spheres begin to merge, due to the rise in social media and the subsequent decreasing private life, and women gain more influence in the public sphere. While the forms of inequality are different and an issue for both genders, the Victorian ideas are still present and prominent today. When marrying, Victorian women forfeited all their rights to property and estate, a problem that still exists in developing countries today. With just this information Mitch was able to break through Victor s guise and figure out that he was an undercover instructor. When this information is paired with the fact that Mitch was constantly tired and underfed from training as well as being viciously gibed at by the instructors, it is incredible how he was able to piece together the clues to discover that Victor was undercover. • 13. Marriage Is The Fundamental Source Of Happiness Introduction Middlemarch was written in the years leading up to 1832, during the Reform act, and this act was for the benefit of middle class people. Male defense of narrowing of options was the female brain was not equal to the demands of commerce or the professions, and women, simply by virtue of their sex, had no business mingling with men in a man s world (Altick 54). Contrast with men without the added profit of a formal education put conditions in front of many Victorian women to find the only possibility available, marriage as a main occupation. Marriage is one of the important themes in Middlemarch as most of the characters marry for love and yet marriage still appears unpleasant and unromantic. Unlike other novels of that time, marriage is not considered the fundamental source of happiness. An ill advised or not wise marriage between two people who are inherently compatible never becomes completely tuneful. Marriage is one of the major themes in Middlemarch as, according to critic Francis George Steiner, both principle plots are case studies of unsuccessful marriage . These lines give the suggestion that the lives of Dorothea and Lydgate are vacant because of these disastrous marriages . These lines are asserted more to the case for Lydgate than for Dorothea, who gets a second chance through her lastly marriage to Will Ladislaw, her first husband s cousin; however, a consent interpretation of this marriage is dependent upon the character of Ladislaw himself, ... In music, when a piece was written from between about 1750 to 1825 it was considered classical or from the Baroque era. The two most important things in music from this period were order and balance. The men wore very nice tuxedos and the women had on black dresses. In the second piece, the Creatures of the Prometheus their dress attire was not as formal. The observation was made due to some of the women wearing black dress shirts and dark jeans and the men wearing suits with no bowtie or tie and no white shirts. Sand Mining Pollution Frac Sand Mining: Killing Natural Habitats and Polluting the Environment I remember walking on the rocky shore of an endless, blue lake and feeling the fresh breeze shield me from the brutal, summer heat. My Uncle and I used to take out a Piragus canoe and paddle across the lake s vastness as I peered down into the glassy water and clearly saw the castle rock formations. The fish quickly swam in and out of their hiding places like swarms of people making their way to work on a busy New York morning. The lake breathed with life and movement. Rolling green bluffs encircled the lake, creating a storybook like haven. So many beautiful woodlands and waterways like this continue to disappear due to the frac sand mining industry. Towering machinery replaces billowing trees with piles of red, earthy mounds, and the heavy clanking of metal on metal echoes across the land. Frac mining and fracking scars the land around it indefinitely. I am not an expert on environmental habitats or the mining industry, but my love for the outdoors and fishing drives me to investigate the harmful effects of frac sand mining. The frac sand mining industry exploits the remaining wilderness of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and surrounding states by selfishly polluting the environment; taking millions of gallons of water from freshwater resources, and disturbing essential minerals from the ground, thus prohibiting future habitat growth and creating significant health issues due to a surplus of dust. ... There are several programs that could be used to help determine where the error or issue may reside. The four programs that will be reviewed are ipconfig, ping, tracert and nslookup. Ipconfig is a program on Windows systems that show network settings for the network adaptors on the computer system. Microsoft describes ipconfig as Displays all current TCP/IP network configuration values and refreshes Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS) settings ( Ipconfig, n.d.). The next program could be used to determine if the host could communicate with the DHCP server and other hosts or network devices. Ping is used to determine if a host or network device is reachable on the network. Ping can be thought of like ping pong. However, the discussion of this topic has already begun. Many people are requesting the government to allow pardons on past possession charges. It is their opinion that if the drug is going to be legalized sooner or later, it is justified to pardon the past offences. The article even mentions two men whose lives are affected by the criminal record of having minor narcotics. They both state that they are unable to travel abroad (namely to america), and have personal issues such as landlords refusing to rent to them. It is their opinion, alongside others, that just because of a small charge their lives do not need to be affected so much. Especially considering that the government is going to legalize the drug anyway. The article also mentions how the previous conservative government made it harder to receive a pardon. As far as legalization is concerned, I prefer the drug being sold over the counter, rather than in some random ally way. The the people who are asking for pardons, I believe that they should be allowed to go through the pardon system and have a chance at getting one. Obviously, there will be some people who are not eligible to receive a pardon. This fact, however, is decided by the parole board. I think it would be best if the system went back to how it was before the previous government made the process harder. That way, the people who do deserve the pardon, can receive ... • 29. The Effect Of Recasts And Prompts On Francophone Learners Regarding output, Corrective Feedback (CF) caters chance for learners to improve their interlanguage when interlocutors provide correct input (recast) or attempt eliciting the correct output from learners (prompt). Ammar and Spada (2006) conducted research to compare the effectiveness of recasts and prompts on Francophone learners of English at different levels. The study focused on the third person possessive determiners (his and her) which are problematic to French native speakers. After being instructed the rule and through some practices, learners would be given either recasts or prompts to errors regarding his and her, or no CF in the control group. Participants were assessed three times: pre test, immediate post test and delayed post test. The researchers discovered that instruction and exposure plus CF are more effective than those without CF. No technique is better than the other since prompts are more effective than recasts for lower proficiency students while high proficiency students benefit from both equally. Although the study only focused on the binary forms (either his or her), it suggested that prompts be applied more to improve lower level learners performance. • 35. Role Of The Cultural Perspective When Dealing With Conflict For any international organization, understanding cultural differences is very significant in the global context. The article analyzes the role and impact of the cultural perspective when dealing with conflict in the global context. What seems like a perfectly reasonable approach in one culture may seem ridiculous, disrespectful, inefficient, or unfair to managers from other cultures. Japanese and German managers may be uneasy with conflict resolution preferences that differ from their own. (Adams, p.110.) The understanding that organizational and global cultures vary results in the connected research supported in several businesses in diverse fields. This research did not only use the preferences of superiors employed in multicultural environments, when analyzing, but explored the role of each individual s culture in defining a possible resolution. If managers insist on their cultural preferences as the way to resolve disagreements, more disagreements will emerge because of misunderstood processes for resolving disagreements. The results of this study suggest that effective conflict resolution may need to begin with the recognition of different cultural preferences for resolution strategies. Only then can further attempts at resolution proceed effectively. In other words, focus on the where before jumping into the how. (Adams, p.110) Creating a workplace environment that enables employees to flourish includes the recognition that cultural diversity is important. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Object oriented programs have an alternate behavior and structure when contrasted with programs created utilizing technical language. It takes after an information driven methodology and it is depends on ladder of objects and classes. Classes are only a gathering of objects that inform properties and connections and objects are elements that stores information send and get messages. Re usability can be picked up in object oriented programming by making utilization of features which is polymorphism, inheritance, encapsulation and abstraction. Issues like maintenance and reuse are explained utilizing OO approach. Although the development is done by people, testing needs to be carried out to uncover mistakes. As classes team up with one another, OO framework needs to be tested at various levels. Testing starts by investigating the OOA and OOD models. The correctness and consistency of the models are analyzed utilizing formal technical reviews and they are examined in this report. Different types of diagrams, for example, control flow graph, state transition diagram and class diagram are utilized by the test models. There I heard a recent keyboard transcription of Bach s. The transcription was of a piece called Concerto in D minor for Oboe, Strings and Basso Continuo. Bach listed the composer as the well known Venetian composer Benedetto Marcello. There are three Marcello brothers, Alessandro, Benedetto and Girolamo, who were born of nobility here in Venice. Benedetto is well known for his music. Alessandro composes also but his interests actually lie more with philosophy, mathematics, history, chemistry, painting and poetry. Alessandro has a small body of work in music. This is probably due to him being much more of a figure head in the Venetian government since his father passed away in 1707. Benedetto has a much larger body of work composing of many instrumental and sacred vocal pieces. I recalled that considering the academic pursuits of the Marcellos, that it was possible that they were members of the Arcadian colony. The Arcadians were a new movement of intellectuals that emphasized the respect of artistic achievement and a return to the Greek ideals that music and poetry worked together. They also wished to avoid lavish displays and encouraged simplicity. The Arcadians would also use pseudonyms and I discovered that the pseudonym of Eterio Stinfalico belonged to Alessandro Marcello. Now that I learned who the true author was, I went to seek out Alessandro. It is typical of nobles such as the Marcello to conduct concerts in their home. I went to the Palazzo Marcello and discovered a concert was being performed that had the concerto on its program. The oboist was unknown to me. The audience contained mostly nobles and government ...
