Radiofrequency Exposure
Exposure of the human to radiofrequency( RF) radiation can occur from several sources, including the use of personal devices (mobile phones, cordless
phones, Wi Fi, Bluetooth, amateur radios, etc.), occupational sources (high frequency dielectric and induction heaters, broadcast antennas, high power pulsed
radars, and medical appliances), and environmental sources (mobile phone base stations, broadcast antennae). [1] One of the most common tools we see these
days is that of people with their mobile phones next to their ears. Mobile phones are low powered RF transmitters, with frequencies between 450 2700 MHz,
operating through a network of base stations, with power in the range of 0.1 2 W transmitted through an antenna used close to the ... Show more content on

[3] The FCC s exposure guidelines delineate an SAR of 1.6 W/kg, averaged over 1 g of tissue, as the safe limit for a mobile phone user and every handset
should comply with this limit before FCC approval is granted for marketing of a phone in the United States. However, less restrictive limits, e.g., 2 W/kg
averaged over 10 g of tissue, are specified by the International Commission on Non Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) guidelines, endorsed by WHO,
and used in Europe and most other countries. [7] Exposure of a user to RF declines rapidly with increasing distance from the handset. A person using a mobile
phone 30 40 cm away from the body, i.e., using speaker mode while talking or using a hands free device, e.g., bluetooth headsets, will have a much lower
exposure than someone holding the handset against the head. [2] Several devices which claim to increase the safety of mobile phone use such as., shielded
cases, earpiece pads/shields, antenna clips/caps, special batteries, and absorbing buttons, decrease exposures by a factor of 10, they have the danger of
adversely affecting the phone s antenna, due to which the phone will attempt to

He was a member of D Company in the 8th Engineer Combat Battalion during their assault and capture of hill 775 when the enemy counterattacked. In
defense against the counter attack, PFC Brown had soon expended all of his ammunition for his rifle and took small arms fire, including taking a wound in the
defense of the hill. With no rifle rounds remaining to use on the assaulting enemy, he utilized what he had hand grenades. However, that supply soon ran out
and he was forced to use whatever his allies in the nearby foxholes could give him. In his search for more ammunition and hand grenades, he left his defensive
positioning, braving enemy fire to continue to attack the enemy forces. Out of ammunition and hand grenades with the enemy approaching, PFC Brown took
cover and drew out the only thing remaining, his entrenching tool. As each enemy peered over the defensive position from which Brown was holding, he
swung his tool at each of the enemy heads that he saw. Doing so he assaulted and knocked out one dozen enemy soldiers. Brown s actions as well as that of the
inspiration he had shown to his allies in defense of the position ensured that the enemy forces would be driven back and counter attack effectively neutralized.
When the bodies were cleared after the day was won, they found scores of dead Korean soldiers near Brown s defensive position many of which with crushed
skulls, but they never found PFC

Immanuel Kant View On Morality
Immanuel Kant is known as the famous German philosopher who argued two main points in his philosophy: that the human mind creates the structure of the
human experience and that reason is the source of morality. More specifically, Kant used his philosophy to argue that in order to figure out what is the right
thing, we must rely on reason. Unlike several other philosophers, Kant refused to use religion as a method to know what the law was to determine right and
wrong, because he believed it was all knowable based on our intellect. Kant s key principle throughout his philosophy is to assert that the only way a person
can achieve good will is by accomplishing it through duty.
Throughout his paper, Kant explains that in the world, there is a constant battle between the conditional and the unconditional goods. He begins by describing
that there are three conditional goods that can be turned evil by humans such as the gifts of fortune (wealth, health), talents of mind (intelligence), and good
outcomes. To counteract this, he describes that there is only one unconditional good; the good will, which can only be executed by duty. When described by
Kant, duty means that a person does the right thing for no other reason than because it is the right thing to do.
To be able to reach this point, Kant used the process of elimination between inclination, prudence, and duty. In his paper, Kant explains that a person cannot
achieve good will if they use inclination (what you desire) because to him, this doesn t constitute moral actions. For example, in Kant s eyes a parent who takes
care of their children because is what they desire to do because they love them shouldn t be morally praised because they are doing it for themselves rather
than doing it because they acknowledge they have an obligation and it is the right thing to do to fulfill that obligation. He continues and goes on to refute
prudence (rational self interest). To better understand this concept, we can think of the example of a lady who believes she can earn a greater income if she
cheats her customers, but refuses to do so, not because she knows it s the wrong thing, but because she fears being caught and losing her customers. By
providing this example,

How Social Media Shapes Musical Identities
The following proposal will be an overview of a short documentary project that will analyze and discuss how social media shapes musical identities. To do this
I will use Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook to consider the interactions that happen through these mediums and also look into how this relationship can form
musical identities. Thus, I will use interview subjects who I will film interviews with myself and I will also interview and use videos of fellow students on
Mike Johnston s online student page. I will use Jimmie Manning s chapter in the book, Beyond New Media by Herbig, Herrmann, and Tyma to discuss the
intricate nature of identity throughout this proposal to identify some of the areas of focus such as public music identity and social mediated music identity. I
will also use things like Mcgee s theory of fragmentation and Megan Foley s sound bites to explain how subjects subsume their social mediated music
identities.
For this project I would like to do a short three to four minute documentary to analyze how social media helps shape peoples musical identity in this
technological era. I can only give an estimate at this time because I know a lot of people who have said they would like to contribute to this project. However, I
also know life happens so that number may change that is why I have chosen to leave the length a little open ended. The documentary will follow about four
subjects five, including a few appearances of myself. It will follow two

Son Of Man View In The Gospel Of Mark
When studying the Son of Man view in the Gospel of Mark, the separate ideas presented related to this terminology is interesting. Whereas readers find this
term in several of the Gospel s the writer of Mark favored this term when quoting Jesus (Wilcox, 2014). Subsequently, this term relates to three different views
of Jesus during and after his earthly ministry and also relates to like examples in Christian literature (Harris, 2014). The first classification of the Son of Man
terminology relates to a natural man who teaches with authority and understanding. Additionally, the second classification as the Son of Man refers to a servant
of the people who accepts their rightful suffering. Finally, the term Son of Man relates to a Judge of humanity

Biography on Tupac Shakur Essay
Biography on Tupac Shakur In much the same fashion that Kurt Cobain defined the alternative rock music scene, Tupac Shakur defined the hip hop scene as
we know it today. What made Tupac (also known as 2pac) so special was his enormous talent, his on screen friendly looks, and the sense that he was real and
talked the talk, while walking the walk. Since his death, there s been a deluge of speculation on who and why, and even if, but unfortunately still no concrete
answers exist for any of these questions. Born June 16, 1971, Tupac Amaru Shakur, who was named after Tupac Amaru, the Inca Indian that was sentenced to

Shakur and two others, though later charges against Shakur were dropped. In 1993 Tupac was arrested for allegedly shooting 2 off duty Butts County Atlanta
police officers who were harassing a black motorist, but the charges were again dropped. Ironically, one of the Butts County officers was shot in the ass, and in
1998 Deputy Scott Whitwell won a $210,000 lawsuit for the incident. Then, that same year, Tupac was accused of sexual abuse against a 19 year old woman in
a New York City luxury hotel. Shakur s legal troubles continued in 1994 when he punched out Menace II Society codirector Allen Hughes and served a 15 day
jail sentence for his actions. The sexual charge came to haunt Shakur in that 1994 as he was convicted and sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison, and to add insult

generous person, I feel pleased to see others content. Comedian Danny Thomas said this quote, success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or
accomplish for yourself. It is what you do for others. I hold this quote near to me because I know the feeling of being content but have individuals around me

Pros And Cons Of Virtual Teams
Final Research Paper: The Pros and Cons of Virtual Teams
A History in the Making
From its very inception, the Internet was intended to create a means for a secure, reliable communication network, with the strategy to connect people with
data. Information that once stood evanescent and restrictive by one s personal radius of influence, flourished into an evergreen and ever spanning wealth of
information. Alan Evans, Kendall Martin, and Mary Anne Poatsy, co authors of Technology in Action (2016) state:
The concept of the Internet was developed in the late 1950s while the United States was in the midst of the Cold War with the Soviet Union. At that time, the
U.S. Department of Defense needed a computer network that wouldn t be disrupted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Information is now not bound by the physical restrictions of printed texts, nor is access to information limited to by geographical or temporal boundaries.
Cyberspace immeasurably extends possibilities for storage and transmission of information, and access to information.
Further still, technology has moved beyond a passive, library archive of at your fingertips information to a collaborative, living structure of content available
24/7. Limited by bandwidth, network connectivity, hardware capability, and user skillset, businesses today focus on supporting the infrastructure needs of top
talent for connectivity as opposed to shrinking geographical distances. Don Tapscott and Anthony D. Williams, co authors of Wikinomics: How Mass
Collaboration Changes Everything (2008), pen:
Today the Net is evolving from a network of Web sites that enable firms to present information into a computing platform in its own right. Elements of a
computer and elements of a computer program can be spread out across the Internet and seamlessly combined as necessary. The Internet is becoming a giant
computer that everyone can program, providing a global infrastructure for creativity, participation, sharing, and self organization. (p. 37)
Quickly business has moved from point to point modes of communication, sending linear streams of information back and forth like a ping pong ball, to a

The factors that Cirque du Soleil reduced well below the industry s standard are the dependence on the use of animals, individual performers, and the focus on
adolescent audiences (Lazenby, 2014).
The factors that Cirque du Soleil raised well above the industry s standard were the emphasis on creating a new form of entertainment which is expressed
through dance, music, and acrobatic skill; they also focussed on group performances instead of individualistic efforts (Lazenby, 2014). Cirque du Soleil also
concentrated on conveying a sense of intellectual sophistication (which is priced at a premium) especially appealing to adult audiences (Quartz, 2015).
The factors that Cirque du Soleil created that the industry has never offered are the introduction of a premium circus (appealing specifically to adults) that do
not have any animals (cutting costs immensely and avoiding unfavourable public backlash) and focus specifically on performers with exceptional acrobatic

Fairies In A Midsummer s Night Dream
In A Midsummer s Night Dream by William Shakespeare, the struggle of balance and accord is predominant, in many of the characters story. The mortal world
and the fairy world have crossed over many times in this play, and throughout their interactions, there has been forces of who is superior and who is the weaker
of the two. The Athenian lovers are just like any modern couples, and they have fights or arguments at times, for example, both Lysander and Demetrius try to
show their authority and powers in their respective relationships. Puck is a mischievous fairy that tries to mess with the mortals lives in any way possible.

Educating Afghan Girls Education
Educating Afghan Girls
Education is one of the most important contributors to having a successful future. In developed countries such as North America boys and girls are fortunate
enough to have access to an unbiased education system. Therefore, allowing children to have countless opportunities. However, in countries like Afghanistan
girls are marginalized and neglected the right to learn. Afghanistan is a country of war, where women and girls are often the worst victims. In 2011,
Afghanistan was known as the most dangerous place in the world for a girl to be born (Kissane). Malala Yousufzai, a female education activist was also a
victim of war. Yousufazi was shot in the head and neck for advocating for girls and their rights to have access to education. Similarly, to Yousufzai many
women in Afghanistan stand up for their entitlement to having equality. Those courageous women often become victims of abuse and are often killed.
Investing in girls education is critical, not only is it life altering for a girl s future, but it s also poses benefits to society. By allowing Afghan girls access to
educating we are also promoting better socioeconomic s, a reduction in child marriages, and an improvement in mortality rates.
Afghanistan is one of the poorest countries in the world. Three decades of war has subjected Afghans to harsh living conditions. Leaving most with insufficient

Romeo And Juliet 1968 Vs 1996
The 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet is more tightly; aligned to what Shakespeare intended in consideration of the setting, Juliet s impression, and verbal
exchanges. When analyzing each film, it is clear to see the same plot, just portrayed differently. To begin, the settings of both films took place at the Capulet s
home where Romeo came to meet Juliet. While the 1968 film took more of an authentic path, the 1996 film took an modern path. In the 1996 film, the main
setting was the pool, which strays from the play because it is the balcony scene. It looked as if there may have been a balcony, but that was just a window
opening and not a true balcony. This film was much more out in the open, with security cameras to create more tension; comparatively, the 1968 film was
much more secluded and hidden by trees. In this film Juliet is on a large balcony which coincides with The Balcony Scene in the original play; henceforth

Theaker (2001) states that the essence of network public relations is the contest of discourse power and the guidance of network public opinion. If the charity

network environment, information propagation range, the propagation time, communication space, interaction and cost could have more advantages that direct

Themes In The Cathedral By Raymond Carver
The Cathedral by Raymond Carver is an eye opening short story which focuses on an unnamed narrator who has a hard time interacting with the world around
him, specifically his new visitor. The narrator is the perfect example of an antihero as he is the central character, but does not exhibit heroic attributes. In this
first person narrative, the narrator speaks of when his wife s old friend, Robert, comes to visit. After Robert s wife passes on, he stops by the narrator s house
for a night while passing through to visit his family. The theme of the The Cathedral focuses on how although one may be looking, they may not truly be
seeing. When analyzing the narrator of The Cathedral , one can see how he exemplifies the themes of the short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the narrator continues this way throughout the story, his possessiveness does begin to halter as he gets to know Robert on a more personal level. Once
the climax of the short story arrives, the narrator s possessive trait somewhat vanishes as he opens his eyes to the world around him. The narrator is a character
who is ignorant. Throughout the story, the narrator demonstrates his narrow mindedness in many instances especially when it comes to Robert s blindness.
Notably, the narrator speaks of how his assumptions regarding blindness have been adapted from what he has seen within movies. For much of the story, the
narrator continually questions Robert s abilities due to his blindness. From his choice to wear a beard to whether he will be able to eat his dinner on his own,
the narrator comments on Robert s choices. An example of this takes place when the narrator believes Robert would not smoke due to his blindness. The
narrator remembers, having read somewhere that the blind didn t smoke because, as speculation had it, they couldn t see the smoke they exhaled. I thought I
knew that much and that much only about blind people. (Carver 107). To the narrator s surprise, Robert does in fact smoke. The narrator s ignorance allowed
for him to believe blindness would truly affect this in the first place. Furthermore, the narrator s ignorance is also seen when he questions what Robert was
wearing explicitly his lack of dark glasses. While thinking on the topic, the

Analysis Of The Poem Upon The Burning Of Our House
Since its early days, America has had strong core values based in Christian theology, European traditions, and Western ideals and morals. The Christian
religion (and its many varying tendrils) has helped unify our nation for centuries. The founders of what is today the United States of America came over to this
continent avoiding persecution for their religion from European powers. While there have been plethora wars and struggles across Europe over religion,
thankfully they have never showed their face in America, although it is most certainly a part of our heritage. However, it can not be said that Christianity is the
only influence that has been exerted on the American culture. Pagan and secular traditions and superstitions have been passed from ancient Greece to ancient
Rome, then from the wreckage of those empires in Europe, and carried on all the way through the Dark Ages to 1600 s pilgrims who carried their culture to a
new continent: North America. A remarkably early American poet was Anne Bradstreet, who wrote the poem Upon the Burning of Our House, which is a
tribute to God. The most important and obvious value that Bradstreet emphasizes in her poem is her devotion to God. Throughout this poem she mentions him
seven times as being her support and lord. In the second stanza she prays that god will strengthen me in my distress. This demonstrates to us that she trusts
God to take care of her, despite the extreme traumatic experience she just endured. She uses

Negative Effects Of The Columbian Exchange
The Columbian Exchange started in 1492 and was a network of trade. Native Americans shared ideas, agriculture, firearms, animals, diseases and later slaves.
The Columbian exchange is responsible for introducing cattle, horses, chickens, and pigs into America. They also import firearms to the new world. Before
such weapons were proposed to Native Americans, they used canes and sharpened sticks as weapons for defense and hunting. Although these may be seen as
positive effects of the exchange, it brought lethal diseases to the Native Americans as well. Measles, influenza, and small pox just some of the illnesses that
killed the majority of the Native American population. The exchange brought fatal diseases killing the larger part of the populations, therefore leading to a rise
in slavery. The Columbian exchange introduced Native Americans to new technology, agriculture and ideas, but also had the negative effect of almost wiping

Christians believed that medieval era Christian Churches had become ungodly and nefarious. They did not believe there was any need for a religious leader

The Dead And J. Alfred Prufrock Analysis
Many people don t usually put the words love and dead in the same sentence, because they believe the two are as different as night and day. These same people
would find it hard to believe that the similarity between Gabriel Conroy from The Dead and J. Alfred Prufrock from the The Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock
would be so uncanny. Gabriel and J. Alfred Prufrock are both very insecure, uncomfortable around women, and also pathetic.
In today s society many have insecurities including, and not limited to, the way they look and the way their actions will be viewed by others. Gabriel Conroy
from The Dead is insecure in more ways than one. In The Dead Gabriel s insecurity about whether or not he should include a quotation from Browning can be
found when he thinks He would only make himself ridiculous (p.g.10 ) showing he is very insecure about what his peers will think of him for including the
quotation. Gabriel can be shown to also have insecurities about his feelings No, it was not the moment yet. (pg. 65), showing him in the light of not being able
to show or tell his feelings toward Gretta. Insecurity not only knocked on Gabriel s door, but it also has knocked on the door of J. Alfred Prufrock. In The Love
Song of J. Alfred Prufrock Prufrock is being insecure about the way he looks. This can be seen when it says How his hair is growing thin! (line 41), and But
how his arms and legs are thin! (line 44), showing Prufrock s worry of what the women in the room will think and say about him. Both Gabriel and Prufrock
are similar in that they are very insecure.
Gabriel from the dead finds himself in uncomfortable situations, most of them being when he is around women. In The Dead Gabriel finds himself in an
uncomfortable situation with Lucy when he says, I suppose we ll be going to your wedding one of these fine days... (p.g. 8), which Lucy replies, The men that
is now is only all palaver and what they can get out of you. (p.g. 8), at this reply Gabriel starts to feel uncomfortable. He tries to fix the situation by giving
Lucy money, ..it s Christmas time isn t it? Just here s a little (p.g. 9) this doesn t end up making the situation better, but instead he makes it even more

Characteristics Of A Resilient Business Organization
The word resilience comes from the latin world salire , which means to spring up and the word resilire which means to spring back as well as resilo which
means the ability to rebound or jump back (Resnick, Lisa, and Gwyther, 2011; Dalziell and McManus, 2004; Pflanz and Lewis, 2012; Rochas, Kuznecova and
Romagnoli, 2014).
A theoretical model is presented identifying the pertinent features that characterize a resilient business organization. Drawing on the systems theory literature,
a business is firstly characterized in terms of its technical, social and economic sub systems. Secondly, the kinds of disruptions business system might need to
guard against are identified according to local, national and global spheres of influence. Thirdly, that resilient business system must attend to the goals of
redundancy, requisite variety and resources. Finally, when these attributes (sub systems, spheres of influence goals) are connected certain business artifacts
become evident as critical to enabling organizational resilience.
Resilience is seen as an organizational capability, to anticipate key events from emerging trends, constantly adapt to change and rapidly bounce back from
disaster (Marcos, 2008). Resilient organizations always strive to be prepared for the best, but also for the worst where organizational learning inward and
outward is nurtured and encouraged. The fusion of personal talent with productive environments and a balanced approach to managing explicit and tacit

Gender Stereotypes In Media
As much as I hate to admit it, I do think media has an affect on how I interact with others. Media influences me to have a lot of presumptions regarding both
males and females, but I found that I have more presumptions of males. The thought that all men should be strong is one example I have. Growing up, I
watched a lot of Disney movies and in those movies there was always a Prince that would come and rescue the Princess. Those Disney movies made me
believe that all men should be strong. Therefore, whenever I used to see a friend, who was a guy, look kind of weak, I would tell him that he should start
working out, even though I should have realized and accepted that every man is different. Like the video Codes of Gender said, men are portrayed as
emotionless in the media. The media also made me assume that it was weird if a man showed sadness. When I did see a guy show that he was sad, to the point
where he might have even cried, I became slightly uncomfortable. I have only recently accepted that it is okay for a man to cry. Media, especially in movies,
tend to portray men as dominant over women, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

depressive disorder causing her to be confined to her and her husband s vacation home for the summer. The lofty home, although romantic in her description,

work or write until she is better to save her strength. John s relentless restrictions on his wife and uncaring actions towards her emphasize the theme of
patriarchal marriage and can be analyzed using the gender/feminist lens. Despite his regimented rules, the narrator feels writing

Sense And Sensibility In The Novel By Jane Austen
Sense and Sensibility written by Jane Austen is a novel that does not only deal with two sister s love matters, but how two dissimilar personalities respond to
society and love. The theme of society vs. sense is existed throughout the novel because it is concerned with the ruling of one s feelings, or the incapability to
do so. Declaring love for someone, nurturing one s self and not caring what people think is important in expressing this kind of social duty. (Pam Morris, 43)
This kind of theme is always present, with some dramatization, within Emma Thompson s 1995 film adaption. Literary critic Deborah Kaplan argues that
Thompson s film adaption demonstrates harlequinization , where the narrative structure of the mass market structure , where a lot of people really like them, it
focuses on a hero and a heroin s courtship at the expense of the other characters and experiences. Kaplan is stating that the film is negative because some
characters are underrepresented. She s right, but at the same time it is to be expected because it is a film adaption. I argue that Kaplan is right, the film adaption
does demonstrate this harlequinization to the point where it ignores all the important scenes within the novel such as how the Dashwood sisters are
represented, Marianne s rescuers Willoughby and Colonel Brandon in contrast to the novel. With all of Jane Austen s novels, Sense and Sensibility gives the
readers an insight of the personal lives of nineteenth century women, Marianne and Elinor Dashwood are the examples of heroines, sisters with dissimilar
personalities. Marriage is a way to alter wealth for women, it is always a central theme within Austen s novels. In the novel, the Dashwood women are left
poor because the fortunes of their father was inherited by their brother. The women leave their home and move to a home in Devonshire which belongs to John
Middleton, who is Mrs. Dashwood s cousin. This is what introduces possible suitors for the two eldest Dashwood sisters, Marianne and Elinor. Edward Ferrars
and Elinor fall in love and Marianne falls for John Willoughby. In the film, the Dashwood sisters seen as so poor after their father passed away. For example, in
one scene, the Dashwood women cannot

Poverty In Third World Countries
The effects of poverty have been around for hundreds of years; as it is apparent within third world countries like North Korea, Sudan, and Somalia. Third
world countries are not the only ones that are affected due to poverty first world countries like Australia, The United States of America, and Canada also face
poverty. The definition of poverty is very controversial as every country has a different poverty line, due to the finical status of the country. The most
commonly used definition for poverty is someone that is lacking a significant amount of money from which they cannot pay for necessities, such as food and
shelter. Which could lead to those in poverty becoming obese through having a heaving sugar based diet, buying packaged food, and having fast food
frequently due to how cheap it is. It could eventually lead to many gaining life threatening diseases, such as diabetes at different severities. Due to being in
poverty many are unable to gain health insurance, and the proper care to reduce the impact that diabetes has on their day to day lives. Within first world
countries such as The United States the lower class is living in unlivable conditions and are not able to gain the proper care and food. The group that is hit the
worst within America are the immigrants, due to not being able to find high paying jobs and not knowing the language clearly which causes a language barrier.

How Climate Change Is Inherently Flawed
Because of the most recent election season, there has been a renewed interest in the topic of climate change. In the 2016 Presidential election, the green party
received over 1.2 million popular votes nationwide, when they usually receive only 100 thousand or so. With an increased interest in the topic of climate
change, I feel it is necessary to provide factual data and projections on the path climate change will take to decrease misinformation. I proclaim the correct
course of action to solve the problem of climate change is to do nothing. Almost every argument I hear today discussing what we should do about climate
change is inherently flawed because of their assumptions about the future. The current climate change model for the future assumes technology will not
improve in any fundamental way for the next twenty or thirty years. Every argument which says climate change will be irreversible if we do not act now
assumes we will only have our current technology at our disposal. I know for a fact technology advancements were not considered for these arguments because
there is not a good way to predict what kinds of technology we will have in the future. Thirty three years ago, On March 6th, 1983, the first commercial phone

Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Psychology
In the textbook it describes how Freud believed your conscious thoughts were only the tip of the iceberg when studying the brain. Freud believed there were
three levels of awareness. The first level is, conscious level these are thoughts we are aware of in the moment (Cervone Pervin, 2013). The second level is the
preconscious level, which are contents we could easily become aware of (Cervone Pervin, 2013). The third level is the unconscious level. This level is mental
contents of the mind that we are unaware and cannot become aware of. These thoughts can only be accessed under special circumstances (Cervone Pervin,
2013). According to Freud, the reason we were not able to access unconscious thoughts is because they are anxiety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This led Freud to write The Interpretation of Dreams.
When studying dreams, Freud found that dreams are very strange. I have found this also in my lifetime. I have always been fascinated by dreams. As a kid I
would wake up wanting to replay my dream on a display screen. In the mornings, I would be so excited to explain what happened in my dreams the night
before to my family members. I wanted so badly for them to understand how crazy they were, but most of the time they were too bizarre for them to
understand so they gave up listening. Unlike most of my friends and family my dreams were so vivid that I could almost always remember them. In high
school, I began to think that because my dreams were so vivid, they had to mean something. I began trying to interpret my dreams. If there were a symbol that
stuck out in my dream all night, like a snake, I would try to look up the meaning. Or if there were a certain act I was performing in my dream, like swimming
in the ocean, I would look it up. At first, I was looking up the meanings on dream interpretation websites. Then, I ended up getting a book. Now I know that
thanks to Freud, I am able to interpret my own dreams. I remember specifically, my senior year of high school after my mom passed away, she would be in my
dreams. They were vivid memories of her and I, the dreams always felt so real. In the beginning after her passing, I would have dreams consecutively with her
in it. As months passed

The Origins And Central Beliefs Of Islam
Three Theologies for Thee
The origins and central beliefs of Islam, Buddhism, and Christianity should be common knowledge to understand our world today and its history.
Islam is an Abrahamic monotheistic religion that professes that there is only one god. Muhammad is the last messenger of the god Allah. It s the world s fastest
growing religion and the second largest in the world. Muslims make up 23% of the world s population. Islam teaches that Allah is peaceful, all minded, and
unique, and he has guided mankind through the Quran and and natural signs, along with a line of prophets sealed by Muhammad. The Quran, viewed by
Muslims as the verberation of Allah, and the teachings of Muhammad.

They were afraid that trade which they believed was protected by the pagan gods, would deteriorate. From that point forward, Muhammad was shunned in
Mecca. For a time, the influence and status of his wife and his uncle, Abu Talib, the chief of the clan, protected Muhammad from persecution. After they died,
however, Muhammad s situation in Mecca became dire. (The Prophet Muhammad And The Origins Of Islam)
After facing many trials of persecution, abuse, and torture from the Quraish, Muhammad and his followers decided to flee Mecca, and migrate to Medina,
where the Medians graciously welcomed them. This major beginning of the Islamic era is called the Hijrah which roughly translated as Flight.
In Medina, Muhammad continued to receive revelations and an ever expanding community around the new faith. The conflict with the Quraish continued but

In defense against the counter attack, PFC Brown had soon expended all of his ammunition for his rifle and took small arms fire, including taking a wound in the defense of the hill. With no rifle rounds remaining to use on the assaulting enemy, he utilized what he had hand grenades. However, that supply soon ran out and he was forced to use whatever his allies in the nearby foxholes could give him. In his search for more ammunition and hand grenades, he left his defensive positioning, braving enemy fire to continue to attack the enemy forces. Out of ammunition and hand grenades with the enemy approaching, PFC Brown took cover and drew out the only thing remaining, his entrenching tool. As each enemy peered over the defensive position from which Brown was holding, he swung his tool at each of the enemy heads that he saw. Doing so he assaulted and knocked out one dozen enemy soldiers. Brown s actions as well as that of the inspiration he had shown to his allies in defense of the position ensured that the enemy forces would be driven back and counter attack effectively neutralized. • 4. Immanuel Kant View On Morality Immanuel Kant is known as the famous German philosopher who argued two main points in his philosophy: that the human mind creates the structure of the human experience and that reason is the source of morality. More specifically, Kant used his philosophy to argue that in order to figure out what is the right thing, we must rely on reason. Unlike several other philosophers, Kant refused to use religion as a method to know what the law was to determine right and wrong, because he believed it was all knowable based on our intellect. Kant s key principle throughout his philosophy is to assert that the only way a person can achieve good will is by accomplishing it through duty. Throughout his paper, Kant explains that in the world, there is a constant battle between the conditional and the unconditional goods. He begins by describing that there are three conditional goods that can be turned evil by humans such as the gifts of fortune (wealth, health), talents of mind (intelligence), and good outcomes. To counteract this, he describes that there is only one unconditional good; the good will, which can only be executed by duty. When described by Kant, duty means that a person does the right thing for no other reason than because it is the right thing to do. To be able to reach this point, Kant used the process of elimination between inclination, prudence, and duty. In his paper, Kant explains that a person cannot achieve good will if they use inclination (what you desire) because to him, this doesn t constitute moral actions. For example, in Kant s eyes a parent who takes care of their children because is what they desire to do because they love them shouldn t be morally praised because they are doing it for themselves rather than doing it because they acknowledge they have an obligation and it is the right thing to do to fulfill that obligation. He continues and goes on to refute prudence (rational self interest). To better understand this concept, we can think of the example of a lady who believes she can earn a greater income if she cheats her customers, but refuses to do so, not because she knows it s the wrong thing, but because she fears being caught and losing her customers. By providing this example, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once the climax of the short story arrives, the narrator s possessive trait somewhat vanishes as he opens his eyes to the world around him. The narrator is a character who is ignorant. Throughout the story, the narrator demonstrates his narrow mindedness in many instances especially when it comes to Robert s blindness. Notably, the narrator speaks of how his assumptions regarding blindness have been adapted from what he has seen within movies. For much of the story, the narrator continually questions Robert s abilities due to his blindness. From his choice to wear a beard to whether he will be able to eat his dinner on his own, the narrator comments on Robert s choices. An example of this takes place when the narrator believes Robert would not smoke due to his blindness. The narrator remembers, having read somewhere that the blind didn t smoke because, as speculation had it, they couldn t see the smoke they exhaled. I thought I knew that much and that much only about blind people. (Carver 107). To the narrator s surprise, Robert does in fact smoke. The narrator s ignorance allowed for him to believe blindness would truly affect this in the first place. Furthermore, the narrator s ignorance is also seen when he questions what Robert was wearing explicitly his lack of dark glasses. While thinking on the topic, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Analysis Of The Poem Upon The Burning Of Our House Since its early days, America has had strong core values based in Christian theology, European traditions, and Western ideals and morals. The Christian religion (and its many varying tendrils) has helped unify our nation for centuries. The founders of what is today the United States of America came over to this continent avoiding persecution for their religion from European powers. While there have been plethora wars and struggles across Europe over religion, thankfully they have never showed their face in America, although it is most certainly a part of our heritage. However, it can not be said that Christianity is the only influence that has been exerted on the American culture. Pagan and secular traditions and superstitions have been passed from ancient Greece to ancient Rome, then from the wreckage of those empires in Europe, and carried on all the way through the Dark Ages to 1600 s pilgrims who carried their culture to a new continent: North America. A remarkably early American poet was Anne Bradstreet, who wrote the poem Upon the Burning of Our House, which is a tribute to God. The most important and obvious value that Bradstreet emphasizes in her poem is her devotion to God. Throughout this poem she mentions him seven times as being her support and lord. In the second stanza she prays that god will strengthen me in my distress. This demonstrates to us that she trusts God to take care of her, despite the extreme traumatic experience she just endured. Native Americans shared ideas, agriculture, firearms, animals, diseases and later slaves. The Columbian exchange is responsible for introducing cattle, horses, chickens, and pigs into America. They also import firearms to the new world. Before such weapons were proposed to Native Americans, they used canes and sharpened sticks as weapons for defense and hunting. Although these may be seen as positive effects of the exchange, it brought lethal diseases to the Native Americans as well. Measles, influenza, and small pox just some of the illnesses that killed the majority of the Native American population. The exchange brought fatal diseases killing the larger part of the populations, therefore leading to a rise in slavery. • 28. The Dead And J. Alfred Prufrock Analysis Many people don t usually put the words love and dead in the same sentence, because they believe the two are as different as night and day. These same people would find it hard to believe that the similarity between Gabriel Conroy from The Dead and J. Alfred Prufrock from the The Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock would be so uncanny. Gabriel and J. Alfred Prufrock are both very insecure, uncomfortable around women, and also pathetic. In today s society many have insecurities including, and not limited to, the way they look and the way their actions will be viewed by others. Gabriel Conroy from The Dead is insecure in more ways than one. In The Dead Gabriel s insecurity about whether or not he should include a quotation from Browning can be found when he thinks He would only make himself ridiculous (p.g.10 ) showing he is very insecure about what his peers will think of him for including the quotation. Gabriel can be shown to also have insecurities about his feelings No, it was not the moment yet. (pg. 65), showing him in the light of not being able to show or tell his feelings toward Gretta. Insecurity not only knocked on Gabriel s door, but it also has knocked on the door of J. Alfred Prufrock. In The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock Prufrock is being insecure about the way he looks. This can be seen when it says How his hair is growing thin! (line 41), and But how his arms and legs are thin! (line 44), showing Prufrock s worry of what the women in the room will think and say about him. Both Gabriel and Prufrock are similar in that they are very insecure. Gabriel from the dead finds himself in uncomfortable situations, most of them being when he is around women. In The Dead Gabriel finds himself in an uncomfortable situation with Lucy when he says, I suppose we ll be going to your wedding one of these fine days... (p.g. 8), which Lucy replies, The men that is now is only all palaver and what they can get out of you. (p.g. 8), at this reply Gabriel starts to feel uncomfortable. • 29. Characteristics Of A Resilient Business Organization The word resilience comes from the latin world salire , which means to spring up and the word resilire which means to spring back as well as resilo which means the ability to rebound or jump back (Resnick, Lisa, and Gwyther, 2011; Dalziell and McManus, 2004; Pflanz and Lewis, 2012; Rochas, Kuznecova and Romagnoli, 2014). A theoretical model is presented identifying the pertinent features that characterize a resilient business organization. Drawing on the systems theory literature, a business is firstly characterized in terms of its technical, social and economic sub systems. Secondly, the kinds of disruptions business system might need to guard against are identified according to local, national and global spheres of influence. Thirdly, that resilient business system must attend to the goals of redundancy, requisite variety and resources. Finally, when these attributes (sub systems, spheres of influence goals) are connected certain business artifacts become evident as critical to enabling organizational resilience. Resilience is seen as an organizational capability, to anticipate key events from emerging trends, constantly adapt to change and rapidly bounce back from disaster (Marcos, 2008). Resilient organizations always strive to be prepared for the best, but also for the worst where organizational learning inward and outward is nurtured and encouraged. • 30. Gender Stereotypes In Media As much as I hate to admit it, I do think media has an affect on how I interact with others. Media influences me to have a lot of presumptions regarding both males and females, but I found that I have more presumptions of males. The thought that all men should be strong is one example I have. Growing up, I watched a lot of Disney movies and in those movies there was always a Prince that would come and rescue the Princess. Those Disney movies made me believe that all men should be strong. Therefore, whenever I used to see a friend, who was a guy, look kind of weak, I would tell him that he should start working out, even though I should have realized and accepted that every man is different. Like the video Codes of Gender said, men are portrayed as emotionless in the media. The media also made me assume that it was weird if a man showed sadness. When I did see a guy show that he was sad, to the point where he might have even cried, I became slightly uncomfortable. I have only recently accepted that it is okay for a man to cry. • 32. Sense And Sensibility In The Novel By Jane Austen Sense and Sensibility written by Jane Austen is a novel that does not only deal with two sister s love matters, but how two dissimilar personalities respond to society and love. The theme of society vs. sense is existed throughout the novel because it is concerned with the ruling of one s feelings, or the incapability to do so. Declaring love for someone, nurturing one s self and not caring what people think is important in expressing this kind of social duty. (Pam Morris, 43) This kind of theme is always present, with some dramatization, within Emma Thompson s 1995 film adaption. Literary critic Deborah Kaplan argues that Thompson s film adaption demonstrates harlequinization , where the narrative structure of the mass market structure , where a lot of people really like them, it focuses on a hero and a heroin s courtship at the expense of the other characters and experiences. Kaplan is stating that the film is negative because some characters are underrepresented. She s right, but at the same time it is to be expected because it is a film adaption. I argue that Kaplan is right, the film adaption does demonstrate this harlequinization to the point where it ignores all the important scenes within the novel such as how the Dashwood sisters are represented, Marianne s rescuers Willoughby and Colonel Brandon in contrast to the novel. With all of Jane Austen s novels, Sense and Sensibility gives the readers an insight of the personal lives of nineteenth century women, Marianne and Elinor Dashwood are the examples of heroines, sisters with dissimilar personalities. Marriage is a way to alter wealth for women, it is always a central theme within Austen s novels. In the novel, the Dashwood women are left poor because the fortunes of their father was inherited by their brother. The women leave their home and move to a home in Devonshire which belongs to John Middleton, who is Mrs. Dashwood s cousin. This is what introduces possible suitors for the two eldest Dashwood sisters, Marianne and Elinor. Edward Ferrars and Elinor fall in love and Marianne falls for John Willoughby. Third world countries are not the only ones that are affected due to poverty first world countries like Australia, The United States of America, and Canada also face poverty. The definition of poverty is very controversial as every country has a different poverty line, due to the finical status of the country. The most commonly used definition for poverty is someone that is lacking a significant amount of money from which they cannot pay for necessities, such as food and shelter. Which could lead to those in poverty becoming obese through having a heaving sugar based diet, buying packaged food, and having fast food frequently due to how cheap it is. It could eventually lead to many gaining life threatening diseases, such as diabetes at different severities. With an increased interest in the topic of climate change, I feel it is necessary to provide factual data and projections on the path climate change will take to decrease misinformation. I proclaim the correct course of action to solve the problem of climate change is to do nothing. Almost every argument I hear today discussing what we should do about climate change is inherently flawed because of their assumptions about the future. The current climate change model for the future assumes technology will not improve in any fundamental way for the next twenty or thirty years. Every argument which says climate change will be irreversible if we do not act now assumes we will only have our current technology at our disposal. I know for a fact technology advancements were not considered for these arguments because there is not a good way to predict what kinds of technology we will have in the future. I wanted so badly for them to understand how crazy they were, but most of the time they were too bizarre for them to understand so they gave up listening. Unlike most of my friends and family my dreams were so vivid that I could almost always remember them.
