Artificial Intelligence Or Ai Is A Science Of Machines
Artificial intelligence or AI is a science of machines. Machines are set up to perform functions that
would require brain power and decision making. These machines have been designed to solve math
problems, play games, assemble products and can be a form of communication. The basis of the story
is to understand whether robots can think or function like humans. Humans deal with things on an
everyday basis not knowing what the outcome will be. There are also information sensitive creatures
such as digital computers. A computer is given information, stores what has been received and
produces an outcome. In the end, a human is the one to program the computer to provide the
information. There has always been a comparison between human minds and computers, but this has
caused a great deal of debate. For instance a computer has to be fed information in order to produce an
outcome. The information has to be fed by a human, but the effectiveness depends on what the
programmer is trying to accomplish. The first article talks two robots names Harry and Henrietta.
Harry is a humanoid form that communicates just a human on any subject. People may believe that he
is really human. But one cannot really say whether he is human or not based on the actions that is
displayed just like a real live person. Harry does not have organs like a human or produced as a
human. Henrietta who is human has been set up with synthetic materials. Everything else about
Henrietta stays the same as if she was

Free Market Economies
Introduction Europe s past wasn t always peaceful as it is today and with friendly relations between
countries. For instance the country this report is about had wars with their neighbors the United
Kingdom for more than a century. As usual the battles were for supremacy and for the right to have
colonies all over the globe, because when these wars were raging the whole world was to be re
discovered in some way. Back then navies where the main driving force of the economy and even for
the world. They were the only known to man method of transporting goods, slaves and people. History
of France France was a pure monarchy for a vast period of its history as an established society of
people. During this period people were divided into classes, which was good for some people but for
the rest of the country it was devastating. This was the main reason for the French revolution which
took 10 years for the people to remove the monarchy regime, but a great man as Napoleon saw the
opportunity and took the power, but he wasn t like other dictators, he tried to spread all over Europe a
liberal movement with main goal equality for every person no matter what his family is doing for a
living. (1) Why is the family business mentioned? The reason for this is that before the revolution
classes were divided by their work. Because different classes received different treatment by the king
and therefore some were more pleased than others, this inequality had French people to have no

Tools of Research
TOOLS OF RESEARCH
* Research Tool is a specific mechanism or strategy the researcher uses to collect, manipulate, or
interpret data. * Research Methodology is the general approach the researcher takes in carrying out the
research project, to some extent, this approach dictates the particular tools that the researcher selects.
THE SIX GENERAL TOOLS OF RESEARCH 1. The library and its resources
For thousands of years, the library served primarily as a repository of books and manuscripts. It was,
for the most part, only a slowly expanding universe of knowledge, one that could be comfortably
contained within masonry walls.
In the 20th century, the role of the library changed. An explosion of information occurred. Research
altered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, 40° C does not represent a temperature which has twice the heat of 20° C because the
zero on the Celsius scale is arbitrary, and does not represent an absence of heat. However, when we
consider the metric system for temperature (known as degrees Kelvin ), then there is a true zero
(called absolute zero ). Therefore, a measure of 40K (i.e. 40 degrees Kelvin) is twice as hot as 20K.
STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF THE SCALE * Nominal Scale enables one to determine the
mode, the percentage values, or the chi square. * Ordinal Scale enables one also to determine the
median, percentile rank, and rank correlation. * Interval Scale enables one also to determine the mean,
standard deviation, and product moment correlation. * Ratio Scale enables one also to determine the
geometric mean and percentage variation.
* VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF MEASUREMENT
Validity the validity of a measurement instrument is the extent to which the instrument measures what
it is supposed to measure.
Reliability is the consistency with which a measuring instrument yields a certain result when the entity
being measured hasn t changed. To apply these concepts to social research, we want to use
measurement tools that are both reliable and valid. We want questions that yield consistent responses
when asked multiple times this is reliability. Similarly, we want questions that get accurate responses
from respondents this is validity.

Summary Of False Confessions In Popular Culture
I chose an article from the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Criminology and Criminal Justice. The
title of the article is False Confessions in Popular Culture. I chose this article because I ve always been
fascinated with criminal interviews. I ve attended numerous interview and interrogation courses
throughout my career. One of the best interview schools I ever attended was Reid interview and
interrogation. One of the most debated subjects in all of these courses was false confessions. The
reason I liked the Reid interview and interrogation course is because they offered different techniques
on how to avoid false confessions.
The article starts out discussing all the emotions associated with false confessions and how the news
media and television shows have popularized false confessions. People undoubtedly have made false
confessions for years. The article discusses how the media and tv shows have ... Show more content

Suspects make compliant false confessions due to avoid the stress of a harsh police interrogation.
Interrogations are stressful and worrisome on both the guilty and the innocent. It s hard to believe that
someone would admit to falsely committing a criminal act merely to avoid a harsh interview, but it
does happen. Another reason that people make complaint false confessions is that they feel they will
receive less severe punishment.
Persuaded false confessions is when a suspect during a police interview begins to doubt or second
guess themselves and falsely confesses to a criminal act, despite having no memory of it. Interrogators
have to be careful not to use suggestive interview techniques because they can cause or can generate
false memories of committing crimes (Shaw Porter, 2015). Over the course of my career, I ve had
numerous people make false confessions. That s why interview schools are so

Describe The Chemical Process In Making Americium
Chemical process in making americium:
The most popular type of smoke alarm is an ionization chamber smoke alarm. These contain 0.28
micrograms of the radioactive isotope americium 241, in the form of americium dioxide. Americium
is a synthetic element, so it must be produced in a nuclear reactor. Americium is made from plutonium
241, yet this needs to also be made in a nuclear reactor. Uranium 238 in a nuclear reactor it is hit with
a neutron, which makes uranium 239. Uranium 239 has a half life of 23.5 minutes, the uranium goes
through beta decay becomes neptunium 239. This neptunium will then form plutonium 239 via beta
decay over two days, this is then bombarded with two neutrons to become plutonium 241. Plutonium
241 has a half life of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has become a social (as well as a government) expectation to have them installed in your home.
Smoke alarms save lives; without a smoke alarm you are 4 times more likely to die in the event of a
fire. The americium inside the alarm is an alpha and low energy gamma emitter. Alpha radiation can
be stopped by a piece of paper or a few centimetres of air, meaning you could stand under a raw
sample of americium and not be in any danger. Yet, gamma radiation has the wavelength near that of
an atomic nuclei (10 Pico meters) meaning that they penetrated far more easily. These rays are weak
enough not to do any harm, yet are the major factor to the radiation from a smoke alarm. It has
become a misconception that smoke alarms are a threat to health because of their radioactivity. The
radiation emitted from a smoke alarm annually is 9 50 nano sieverts, eating banana releases the
equivalent of 100 nano sieverts, the average background radiation in Australia is 2000000 nano
sieverts, to put how little radiation is absorbed from a smoke alarm. The real problem is only when
americium is internalised into the body, because it is an alpha emitter. It poses a threat to health
because even though the alpha particles themselves are harmless, the speeds they travel give them the
ability to break bonds and ionize atoms, thus causing cancer. When in the body 90% stays in you and
the rest is excreted, it goes to the liver, bones and ovaries or testicles where it has the possibility to
cause cancer or birth

Analysis Of The Poem The Marjorie Liu And Sana Takeda
Without the illustrations, reading the Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda s graphic novel Monstress would
be a far less enriching experience. The fantastical universe created in this work would not be as finely
detailed or impactful if it were a traditional novel. The illustrations set the tone and allow the reader s
eye to focus on what is important, without the need to read a detailed description of the universe. Sana
Takeda s illustrations in Monstress enhance the story with the framing of the panels, the color palette
in the settings, and the detail of her art.
The framing of the illustrations enhances the reading experience in a variety of ways. The arrangement
of the panels lets the reader know exactly which characters, moments and ... Show more content on

Another instance of this is in the battle scene in Chapter Three when Maika uses a unicorn horn to kill
one of the guards. On this page, four diagonal lines separate the page; one of which is not parallel with
the others This demonstrates Maika s rapid movement, and the skewed line shows precisely how
jarring her act of violence is. Takeda also uses the lines themselves in various interesting ways.
Whenever there is a flashback scene, the divisions are black, unlike the current events in which they
are white. In addition, during her forced recollection of Constantine in Chapter Six, the lines are both
black and blurred, showing that this memory is less clear than the others. Another innovative instance
is in Chapter One when Maika attacks Sophia with a flamethrower. On this page, the flames move
over the borders into other panels, showing just how much the flames are consuming.
With the color palettes used in the various settings, Takeda sets the tone for the scenes and allows for
better reader clarity. The first major setting in the novel is the city of Zamora, where inside the
Cumaean stronghold, jewel tones and gold are the most dominant (Chapter One). This shows the
reader the opulence and glamour the Cumaea experience, demonstrating their greed and power, which
the reader learns is due to both being born with some magical abilities and their use of Lilium. This is
in stark contrast to the green hues that Takeda uses to create the prison scenery.

America is a country with marvelous greatness and is home of many immigrants who arrive there with
hope to improve their lives and live the American Dream. Frank McCourt, an Irish boy with
tremendous desires of returning to America, explores an idealistic world in America where he plans to
overcome his miserable childhood. He says you can do anything in America, it´s the land of
opportunity. (McCourt 295). Important characters throughout his childhood expressed their admiration
for America, because they knew life was better in comparison to Limerick where he lived a miserable

Helen Keller Contributions
A global citizen is someone who represents resilience, values diversity, recognizes social injustice and
works towards changing it. All of these values were thoroughly represented by the personality of and
the life lead by Miss Helen Keller. Despite the fact that she was left permanently both deaf and blind
at the age of 19 months she overcame numerous challenges and learned to communicate, eventually
earning a degree from one of the leading universities in the United States. In doing so she represented
the first quality of global citizenship, resiliency. Helen Keller was a huge believer in the ability of all
people to do great things in the world. She believed that no matter what your disabilities be it
deafness, blindness, amputation or otherwise you could do great things, and thus she represented the
second quality of global citizenship, believing in the value of diversity. Helen Keller was a major
social activist for the disabled community of the 20th century, she contributed to the recognition and
support of them in numerous ways, from causing braille to become the world s standard alphabet for
the blind to being one of the founders of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Helen helped
countless numbers of people and inspired countless more. Helen Keller s actions truly made her one of
the greatest global citizens of the 20th century and arguably all time.
Without a doubt Helen Keller has faced a great number of challenges throughout almost her entire

Video Games Are Not Safe For Young Viewers
Vanderbilt blogger Emily Hughes states that video games have been around for over 50 years, starting
as coin operated console and computer games. Video games have progressed from simple 2
dimentional videos with simple controller actions to realistic and 3 dimentional videos that involve
full attention mentally and physically. The first video game launched was Spacewar in 1962 where the
objective of the game was for spaceships to battle to the death in space. The theme of fighting to the
death has progressed on as a main theme in video games today. The growing theme of violence,
fighting to the death, and gore have been becoming more popular and expected in video games leading
to parents and the government to step in to set the boundaries of what type of video games are and are
not safe for young viewers.
The first uproar in the United States about violent video games was in 1976, over gaming company
Exidy s Death Race, an 8 bit arcade game in which a player s car runs over stick figures, turning them
into tombstones (Suddath). Death Race caused the United States first video gaming ethical terror. The
United States was unsure on how to deal with young children getting ahold of violent video games and
were focused on finding a way to keep the mental development of young child out of the games
harmful way. The growth of moral uproar continued in 1993 where Mortal Kombat, which included
extremely violent graphics and fatality moves, and Night Trap, in which a male

the Populists were looking for. However, it did eventually lead to some precisely notable changes in
the governmental practices America knows today. Take, for example, the Graduated Income Tax
demand made in the Omaha Platform. The Populists asked for a change in the way workers were
paying taxes, considering at that time, taxes were paid by the population of each state, not by how
much that population earned. Furthermore, the taxes were not managed by the federal government,
they were collected by the individual states. There was an obvious problem with this type of taxation
and the Populists demanded that the issue be solved. Unfortunately,

World Bank And Ethiopia Case Study
We want you to be clear that the government brought us here... to
die... right here, (an elder interviewed by human rights watch )
The World Bank and IMF were created with the aim of promoting development through financial
assistance and to work on poverty reduction. Since its creation in 1941 the World Bank has loaned and
supported many projects around the world and empowers local communities to support them (Levin
Institute, 2017) . According to the World Bank data, the bank has committed to lend or has given 338
billion dollars between 2004 to 2013 (Chavkin, 2017). However, despite its economic support the
bank is blamed for displacement and death of millions. One investigation on the World Bank funded
projects show that more than 3.4 million people were displaced over the past decade. (NPR, 2015) .
One of the World Bank supported project that forced 70,000 indigenous people was the forced
villagization in Gambella, Ethiopia (Human Rights Watch, 2012). The government called the eviction
the Commune Center Development Plan and Livelihood Strategy and asserted that it planed the
program in order to bring the scattered rural population together with the aim of providing them health
centers and other public services closer to the area (Epstein, 2013). However, it was found out that the
government relocated the population in order to give their fertile land to foreign investors (ibid).
Ethiopia, which an ally of the west and enjoys strong support from the World Bank and foreign donors
for its role in Africa and the UN. the World Bank has spent more than 1.5 billion dollar between 2006
to 2013 on a program known as Protection of Basic Services (PBS) to finance the salaries of health
workers, school teachers and other public service employees (Chavkin, 2017). According investigation
made by the International Consortium of investigative journalism and Human Rights Watch, the
Ethiopian government financed the forced relocation by diverting from 2 billion dollar funding of that

COPD Case Study Essay
RATIONALE
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) remains a major financial burden to our healthcare
system. In 2015, the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services started imposing a financial penalty for
hospitals with excess rates of COPD readmissions. We investigated the effectiveness of a Discharge
Checklist in reducing the rates of 30 day readmission in a cohort of high risk patients admitted with
COPD exacerbation.
METHODS
We conducted a 12 month randomized prospective case control study on patients diagnosed with acute
COPD exacerbation from December 2016 to November 2017. The case cohort was administered a
Discharge Checklist at the time of hospital discharge while the patients in the control group underwent
usual discharge care. The Discharge Checklist included identification of factors such as non
compliance, inappropriate oxygen use, inappropriate inhaler technique and lack of follow up. In
addition, we measured the Peak Inspiratory Flow (PIF) and adjusted the home inhalers based on the
PIF. The electronic health record was used to look for evidence of readmissions. The primary outcome
measured was the 30 day readmission rates of the cases compared to ... Show more content on

51 patients (46.8%) were assigned to the case cohort and 58 patients (53.2%) were assigned to the

(13.8%) was not statistically significant (P = 0.3203). The overall rate of 30 day readmission in the
study population was 17.4%. The mean hospital length of stay was similar between both groups. A
history of COPD exacerbation in the preceding 12 months was the only significant predictor of 30 day
readmission (P = 0.0114). The mean PIF (50.4 ± 19.35 L/min, n = 49) was similar between the
patients with a 30 day readmission and those without (P = 0.7608). There was a significant negative
correlation between PIF and patient s age (r = 0.378; P =

Character Analysis Of Mae Holland In The Circle
Mae Holland is an ambitious, intelligent young woman and the main character in Dave Eggers novel
The Circle. Although her character is paramount to telling the novel s main story (detailing the
prominence of the monopolistic, power hungry tech company known as The Circle ), she is hardly a
protagonist, with her being ill informed at best at the book s beginning, and complicit in the Circle s
nefarious doings by the novel s conclusion. Mae is an exceptionally bland character who offers little
interesting internal dialogue and who s only notable overarching character trait is her ever present
insecurity and her need to please others. Arguably, it could be said that Mae truly is not the main
character of The Circle at all; Rather The Circle company itself, or more precisely Mae s relationship
with the The Circle (and by association its dystopian philosophies) are what take center stage. As a
character, Mae is malleable; a clean slate waiting to take orders and eager to agree with her superiors,
she yearns for attention from others, is figuratively trapped inside The Circle s elaborate campus, and
acts as a mouthpiece for the The Circle s leaders; repeating whatever they want her to say. Due to the
fact that Mae Holland possess these characteristics, she is comparable to a parrot.
The same way a parrot enters its cage with a blank mind, devoid of any calls or phrases, Mae
approaches her job at The Circle with an open mind, not influenced by any previous work experiences.
When thinking of the occupation she previously held prior to working at The Circle, Mae expresses
extreme discontent. Her final day at the public utility in her hometown had been only three weeks ago
they d been stupefied when she gave notice but it already seemed impossible that she wasted so much
of her life there. Good riddance, Mae thought, to that gulag and all it represented (pg 4). The passage
above indicates that Mae loathed her previous job, considering it a waist of her life and likening it to a
gulag . This shows that Mae felt little passion or allegiance to her old job, and thus approaches her
new job at The Circle with a blank mind, not considering her previous experiences valuable to her in
any way.

Micromolecules Lab Report
3.4. Distribution of micromolecules in pretreated bio oil
Micromolecules in bio oil, and pretreated bio oil were identified from the GC/MS analysis and
classified based on their chemical structure and functional groups. Their relative amounts are
presented in Table 4. Total amounts of micromolecules were reduced after the pretreatment, despite
the high yield of liquid product. Therefore, it might be due to the dilution with ethanol. Also, the
distribution also strikingly changed during this reaction. Almost of acetic acid, and levoglucosan,
which are known as decline bio oil stability and properties, were changed into the ester form with
ethanol, such as acetic acid ethyl ester, and levulinic acid ethyl ester. The compound like 2,2 diethoxy
ethanol was only identified in the pretreated bio oil, so it might be resulted from the reaction of
ethanol itself. Since amberlyst 36 also has a capacity to phenol purification, total micromolecular
phenols decreased from 38.1 to 13.4 17.2. Generally, almost of phenols reduced during the reaction,
alkylated phenols like cresol, 2,4 dimethyl phenol, or 4 ethyl phenol were strikingly decreased.
Therefore, it was suggested that phenol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ash Rashid Book Report
This is a book that I have been reading for about a month. It is an interesting book that keeps you
thinking what could happen next, and when you think you figured it out it all changes. In the story a
mother gets hit by a police car, but it wasn t by accident and someone recorded it. This was bad for the
spy s they tried to work by the books but they would always listen to their commanding officer. They
would never let their secret out. In the begging of the story Ash Rashid is living his normal life when
one of the leaders of many people in the town show up at his house and inform him that there was a
hit and run on a street and that it was his friend. Ash called to the police station and asked if there was

Endangered Animals Are Endangered
Tigers are primarily killed to supply underground black markets with its organs, pelts, and bones.
These items are highly regarded in eastern medicine (although these treatments have been disproven
and have no real medical value). Innocent endangered animals are being killed for false hopes and
cures within the eastern culture. Poaching has traditionally been defined as the illegal hunting, killing
or capturing of wild animals. The difference between poaching and hunting is one, is that poaching is
hunting without the approval of whomever controls or owns the land. Even though some people
believe poaching creates lots of business and brings in major income for certain smaller, poorer
countries, it endangers our species because it reduces the population of rare or endangered animals,
destroys precious ecosystems within the wild, and poaching is extremely harmful to humans.
Poaching endangers our species because it reduces the population of rare or endangered animals. In
the article Poaching Blamed for Loss of Western Black Rhino , by Frank Jordans states Its loss is
significant because the Western Black Rhino is genetically distinct from other rhino subspecies.
Reintroducing animals born into captivity is costly and may be impossible, experts say. According to
the article, once a species or subspecies goes into extinction within its wild habitat it s near impossible
to recover them back. Introducing the captive species into the area would just cause more harm and be

Malaria Is An Infectious Disease
Background Malaria is considered as one of the deadliest diseases around the world. The cases of
malaria are getting worse and more serious especially in the African countries. Almost 40% of the
world s population could be affected by the disease. Malaria could cause over 1 million deaths each
year and could result to enormous damages to human and social being (Gething et al., 2014). Most of
the international organizations concerning human health have been working on provisions for early
the diagnosis and treatment of the disease as well as selective measures such as vector control.
Definition
Malaria is an infectious disease caused by parasitic protozoans which belong to the plasmodium type.
It is commonly transmitted by female Anopheles mosquito. The mosquito bite transfers the bacteria
into the bloodstream. The parasite migrates to the liver and reproduce. (Slutsker Kachur, 2013).
Brief History The cases of malaria could be recognized from the writings of ancient civilization. There
are ancient Chinese writings which described the symptoms of malaria (Gething et al., 2014).
However, its mechanism is not known until the discovery of the malaria parasite. The parasite was
discovered by Charles Louis Alphonse Laveran who is a French surgeon. He noticed the parasites in
the blood of the patient diagnosed with malaria. He was awarded Nobel Prize for his discovery. In
addition, the widely used antimalarial drug that is used in the modern times is discovered during the

Caste System In Ancient Greece
The caste system in ancient India and citizenship in ancient Greece both have their strengths and
weaknesses in their effectiveness concerning social organization in society. India and Greece
developed around the same time, within a thousand years of urban revolution as ancient city based

Ancient India it was the caste system and in ancient Greece it was citizenship, the caste system a

Marketing Concepts Of The Valley Animal Center
Describe the marketing objectives you sought to achieve, using marketing terms and concepts.
The Valley Animal Center organizes an event each year to help raise funds for the shelter. The event
we participated in is called Wiggle Waggle Walk. As group, we had the task to market the event and
come up with a fun interacting activity for the occasion. We had three main objectives that helped us
to better organize and focus our ideas. The first objective was to generate a creative and interactive
activity for the participants of the Wiggle Waggle Walk to go through. The second objective was to
sign up at least five individuals as a result from marketing the event. The last objective was to create
promotional flyers to increase awareness and attendance for the walk. To complete the marketing
project, we went through a process.
Throughout the process, we met with Jackie, our supervisor, at least once a week to keep her updated
with our progress. The first time we met with Jackie, she gave us the theme for the event, which was
Movie Mania. As a group, we decided to create a Minion Photo Booth for the Wiggle Waggle Walk
that took place at the Woodward Park on October 11. Jackie s supervisor liked our idea and gave us
the approval to continue with our plan. The next objective was one of the biggest ones, which
consisted of signing up at least five individuals for the event. To encourage people to sign up for the
event, we offered a promo code of $5 discount to the first five

How Is Thor Related To Norse Mythology
The legend of Thor is a bit different than what is portrayed in Marvel s movie Thor. Thor was a very
important god is from Norse mythology and was a thunder god while his wife was a fertility goddess.
Odin, Thor s father was the chief Viking god and legend says that Odin enjoyed disguising himself as
a human and would seduce human women. In the Marvel movies, Odin is depicted as a completely
different god and Thor is your average all brawns, quick tempered, hero myth. Norse mythology and
Marvel s rendition of Thor and the Norse gods are completely different and while prior to the course, I

Jimenez was responsible for coining the latest tourism come on, It s More Fun in the Philippines. He
talked about literature and how it can help the tourism industry which, as we all know, has yet to be
fully exploited. So many countries in our part of the world, particularly Thailand, have reaped millions
from the flood of tourists visiting these countries. We get only a trickle, for though we have great
possibilities, there is not enough global interest in our country and its attractions. Much of this is due
to our own myopia, of our leaders who do not understand or realize the myriad possibilities here if we
only know how to use them! Jimenez should produce long range programs. This is one common fault
of government; a new administration takes over and new policies are made no continuity is pursued.
Will the slogan, It s More Fun in the Philippines last only three years from now.? Will it be replaced
when a new administration takes over? This is a minor point; will initiatives today be continued in the
future? Does the present administration accept the past administration program enough to pursue its
good aspects? Will our tourism executives use them? Just consider this: how many visitors go to
England, to visit Stratford on Avon because they have enjoyed William Shakespeare s plays. Those
tourists clambering up the hills in Greece how many of them are there because they read the Homeric
classics? And Spain, which reaps so much

Decarbonize Urban Areas
If we are going to decarbonise our cities and regions, we need to promote high density urban
development. Increasing density reduces the size of houses and overall its consumption of resources
(Rauland and Newman 2011). The authors further contend, therefore that increasing density has
numerous other benefits, including enabling better public transport infrastructure such as light rail and
trains as well as increasing the walkability of cities, all of which will significantly reduce transport
emissions ( Rauland and Newman p. 6. 2011). Adding density to transform cities can also improve
quality of life by offering more local amenities and better lifestyles ( Rauland and Newman 2011). The
Cockburn Town Centre development is perfect example.

Concept of Piglovian Taxes
On the one hand, Piglovian taxes are certainly a useful function in that they may serve to deter a
certain type of individual from perpetrating the crime or social offense (e.g. smoking, traffic violation,
and alcohol). These individuals would typically be those who are low risk in nature (not willing to run
the risk of being caught), concerned with their money and unable to afford the economic consequent
of being caught, rational (in stat economic issues factor higher than the emotional drive of being on a
high does), and likely of a certain age (since adolescents, for instance, are more likely to remain
undeterred by rational consequences and absorbed in the thrill of the moment.) On the other hand, the
concept of Piglovian taxes seem to me to be no different than that of the many other type of
consequences that involve economic consequences just as much as taxing does. Taking the example of
drugs and evaluating the battery of response that America has employed to treat the situation, we see
that America s endeavors in this regard are largely counterproductive. US penalties for drug
involvement are severe. Third felony drug offences involving Substance I drugs carry a mandatory life
sentence without possibility of release. The penalties also involve any sample carrying a certain
amount of the proscribed drug, regardless of the material of the sample involved. Contrast this with
the environment that exists in eh Netherlands where drugs are categorized its drugs into

Uses And Uses Of Virtualization
Virtualization is being able to give a physical device the power, through the use of software, to do
more than that physical device was technically designed and able to do (Santana, 2014, p. 12). For
example, a server can only run one operating system at a time. However, when a hypervisor is used in
a server, the hypervisor is a layer of software that acts like the server itself so that many operating
systems can be run from that one server. The hardware, in this case a server, has been virtualized. The
goal is to use all of the computer s resources all of the time, and the only way to do that is to have
enough things running that the resources are being used consistently and efficiently. An analogy for
this could be online classes. If each teacher only had one student, the teacher s resources of time and
expertise would not be utilized efficiently because that one student will not need help all day, every
day. If the teacher is assigned to fifteen students, the students can still get help when needed from the
teacher, and they would not even be aware that they are not alone in the class. Because it is an online
class, the teacher does not need any more physical resources to teach an entire class than was needed
for one student. The students are receiving the benefits of being taught by that teacher without needing
to be with him or her physically. 2. Please define, in your own words, what a data center is and what
virtualization means in this environment. Data

Nt1330 Unit 3 Types Of Dngs
1.URL Type
The first step is to identify whether the URL is of http or https. In the beginning, network
administrators had to figure out how to share the information they put out on the Internet. It is agreed
on a procedure for exchanging information and called it HyperText Transfer Protocol. Using HTTPS,
the computers agree on a code between them, and then they scramble the messages using that code so
that no one in between can read them. This keeps your information safe from hackers. It uses the code
on a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), sometimes called Transport Layer Security (TLS) to send the
information back and forth.
2. DNS Operation
The next step is to obtain the IP address from the domain name. This is performed by DNS. A DNS
lookup, in a general sense, is the process by which a DNS record is returned from a DNS server.
Interconnected computers, servers and smart phones need to know how to translate the email
addresses and domain names people use into meaningful numerical addresses. A DNS lookup
performs this function.
The two types of DNS lookups are forward DNS lookups and reverse DNS lookups. Forward DNS is
a type of DNS request in which a domain name is used to obtain its corresponding IP address. A DNS
server is said to resolve a domain name when it returns its IP address. A forward DNS ... Show more

Examples Of Trends And Trends In Restaurants
INTRODUCTION
A task commissioned to observe and analyze trends and existing problems globally in any restaurant
industry. Then I have to choose one restaurant and interview with manager of this entity about the
three main issues in his restaurant. After this, I should offer suggestions, which can come up with
proper solutions to these concerns.
TRENDS AND ISSUES IN ANY F B ENTITIES Many people are willing to run the restaurant
business, and the number of individuals is very high. According to the latest statistics, 60% of
restaurants fail within their first 3 years of operations. In addition, other facts signpost that the figure
may be about 90%.
Through extensive market investigation and by talking with the struggling restaurant manager, I have
come up with top trends and with the reasons why restaurants fail.
Restaurants do more than feed us. They make our lives easier. They connect us with our family,
friends and colleagues. Restaurants introduce us the new variety of meal selections. They excite us

The Reflection Of A Motorcycle Riders Group As An...
On the class of ENGL 1301, during the first month, we focused on discourse communities: which in
fact are a group of people who share same values, beliefs, ideas, interest using same language and
method of communication to achieve a certain goal. The people in discourse communities requires the
certain level of knowledge and expertise in the field and becomes part of the discourse community by
understanding and using logos, ethos, and pathos to discuss, explain and argue their own interest and
knowledge within their own community using the own method of communication. Any people
involved in the certain group can be in discourse communities if they share same ideas and view with
common interest. Motorcycle Riders Group as an discourse community has its importance to readers
because it explains and make more clear what a discourse community is and the ways of getting into
the community. By mastering logos, ethos and pathos I can say that I have successfully entered

to discover rave culture. Collin (1997) suggests that when it was initially covered by The Sun in
August 1988, reports were largely positive, endorsed as the latest dance craze, with the paper even
marketing its own smiley face logo T shirts. Hostility quickly ensued however after two deaths from
ecstasy in June and October followed by a police drugs raid on a boat party in November. By
September 1988 the ritualised sequence of moral panic exaggerated press reports, misleading
headlines, self appointed moral spokesmen demanding action and weekend on weekend of police raids
was unfolding (Collin 1997:90). A Daily Mail editorial (26th June 1989) claimed that Acid House is a
façade for dealing in drugs of the worst sort on a massive scale and a cynical attempt to trap young
people into drug dependency under the guise of friendly pop music events . (cited in Collin 1997:97).
However, as with all moral panics the media s and therefore the public s fears had a relatively short

Since man began to talk politics was born, politics is the social study and interaction with another

Politics is the process and method of gaining or maintaining support for public or common action.
Although it is generally applied to governments, politics is also observed in all human group
interactions including corporate, academic, and religious. It is also social relations involving authority

Unlike the children, the two nations are conflicting over the borders of their countries, if one way to
resolve this conflict was to rewrite the map so their borders don t conflict, that would solve the
problem, but what about the gap that is now left, this involves moral values, because what happens if
people lived there, they now aren t under the guidance of the state, they become refugees, this
conflicts with the two nations values, and moral beliefs, who should now take in the refugees? Should
they be split?.
Political activity can spring from a set of values, and beliefs as well as self interest, so in other words
the conflict might be better unsolved than solved because if solved, it would go against peoples values
and beliefs ,which is worse than conflicting interest.
But politics is the art of the possible, one of those nations if it wanted to resolve that conflict it could
have used a less diplomatic way, it could have used coercion, force in similar terms, but to be able to
use force, you need power, but what is it and why is it so difficult to define?
If people have power they have the ability to influence another persons behaviour even if that person
doesn t want to do it, though a threat or sanctions or manipulation, in political situations people with
power have the ability to reward those who

This paper is mainly about the origin and discoveries of electricity and magnetism. It is solely a
summary of two natural phenomenon which have changed everything about our way of life and has

First and foremost, it is about the fundamental idea of how electricity and magnetism came about,
then, the development and discoveries of sources of electricity and magnetism by many inventors and
the latter discoveries of mega production.
When I was a little boy, I used to wonder what causes lightning and thunder. When rain comes, I
sometimes see intermittent lightning for a while before you can hear the sound of a spark which is like
two short circuited power cables.
At school, we all learnt about matter, which consists of atoms and molecules and every atom has a
nucleus and electron(s), inside the nucleus contains an equal number of protons and neutrons. The
electrons revolve round the nucleus of the atom in order to keep it stable. Protons are positively
charged particles, neutrons are neutral and electrons are negative charge particles. The nucleus is
surrounded by shells; these are simply orbitals in which an electron(s) can be found. The number of
orbitals depends on how many electrons the atom has. The electrons which are in the outer most
orbitals have a tendency of being lost or shared by another atom in order to create a more stable
configuration.

The Battle Of Yorktown By George Washington
The Battle of Yorktown is known as the battle that separated the United States from Great Brittan. The
purpose of this paper is that I will discuss the events that led up to the battle, the battle itself, the
outcome, and a specific event that, if changed, might have changed the outcome of the war. There are
multiple events that may have changed the outcome; within this paper I will discuss one, and that will
be, what if George Washington s diversionary orders didn t deceive the British. On September 28,
1781 General George Washington started his siege on Yorktown, where the British General Lord
Charles Cornwallis garrisoned his 9,000 troops. Those actions are just the final steps that won the
battle and solidified the United States as an independent nation. The real beginning of the Battle of
Yorktown started in August of 1781 when the French army led by French Commander, the Comte de
Rochambeau, convinced General Washington to attack Yorktown instead of New York. The Comte de
Rochambeau Stated to General Washington, that if he was to attack New York that they would suffer a
great deal of casualties due to the British s well fortification of the area and that the attack wouldn t
succeed. General Washington was convinced by his ally s concern, so on August 19, 1781 the French

the United Nations, and so on. They to some extent ignore the public, the teenagers, the elders, the
people outside the indigenous group and have mere interest in acknowledging this issue solely to the
government. They are not intending to persuade everybody, only calling the government to take
actions to satisfy indigenous peoples demands. Secondly, because of the special audience they have,
their language style is also distinctive. The tone of the article is official and serious due to the situation
of being present in a worldwide famous conference in Beijing. The style is best defined by their

The Limits Of My Language Are The Limits Of My World
History of Language
It is argued that the human species are a class of animal. However, the distinctive characteristic that
makes us unique, which makes humans different from all other species, is our ability to use complex
language. Language is thought of as multi sensory, containing not only the verbal and writing, but also
touch, smell, sound, and body elements. As humans are very social beings, people have the natural
instinct to connect and communicate with others, to share our emotions and ideas, and as a result,
learning a language becomes an instinct for each individual. Language is the device used for
communication, Ludwig Wittgenstein, an Austrian philosopher on language, said, The limits of my
language are the limits of my world . By this Wittgenstein implies that people use just one language
and therefore live in just one world, and if someone is not capable of using the language, their world is
narrowed. However, Albert Einstein had a conflicting opinion, he cheapened the importance of
language and said, The words of a language as they are written and spoken do not seem to play any
role in the mechanism of my thought. His quote shows that a scientist s mind works ... Show more

But before the creation of any writing system known to its speakers, the Indo European language had
died out. As Indo Europeans moved on from their ancestral homeland and brought forth new
generations, their language evolved, first into contrasting dialects, and then into equally complex

the Indo European proto languages themselves grew, each giving birth to its own family of languages.
Each family is recognized with the proto language from which it came

According To The Data From A Statistic Done By The Canadian
According to the data from a statistic done by the Canadian center of substance abuse, in 2004 to 2012
the initiation age of alcohol use has delayed from 15.6 years old to 16.2 years old. The thought alone
of thinking that a 15 year old child might be consuming drugs and drinking alcohol would sound
terrifying and concerning to most parents. Though the improvement of 0.6 years is admirable, it does
not change the fact that the legal age is still far from the age most adolescents begin to consume
alcohol. The causes for substance use are everywhere. Some might say way to use drugs and alcohol
to hide their emotions or it could be a form of socialization. Socialization is a life long process what
we all go through by which we create our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the research question driving this paper is; Is there a relationship between substance abuse
and adolescent self esteem?
REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE
The three reoccurring themes that are covered and will be discussed are; Parental Adolescent Conflict,
Peer Relationships, and Satisfaction.
Parental Behaviour. The vast majority of researches focuses on the between the parent child
relationship. Most researches mentions that the parent and child relationship is factor always present
in many cases of adolescent substance use (Caughlin et al. 2004; Henry et al. 2003; Jones et al. 1998;
Slicker et al. 2004.). Though the parental involvement is a common factor between all of the articles,
the approach in how they affect adolescents differ between articles. All of the four articles focused
about the withdraw and demand between parent and child, while the other one also focuses on the
child imitation of their parents based how they act. Henry et al. (2003) found that adolescents with
parents who employ authoritative parenting, in which parents show high levels of support and use
logical reasoning to exercise control, used alcohol more rationally compared to the adolescents with
parents who use more of an authoritarian approach, which favors or enforces strict obedience and high
demands but low responsiveness. Because of the poor communication brought by an authoritarian
approach, the

  • 2. Artificial Intelligence Or Ai Is A Science Of Machines Artificial intelligence or AI is a science of machines. Machines are set up to perform functions that would require brain power and decision making. These machines have been designed to solve math problems, play games, assemble products and can be a form of communication. The basis of the story is to understand whether robots can think or function like humans. Humans deal with things on an everyday basis not knowing what the outcome will be. There are also information sensitive creatures such as digital computers. A computer is given information, stores what has been received and produces an outcome. In the end, a human is the one to program the computer to provide the information. There has always been a comparison between human minds and computers, but this has caused a great deal of debate. For instance a computer has to be fed information in order to produce an outcome. The information has to be fed by a human, but the effectiveness depends on what the programmer is trying to accomplish. The first article talks two robots names Harry and Henrietta. Harry is a humanoid form that communicates just a human on any subject. People may believe that he is really human. But one cannot really say whether he is human or not based on the actions that is displayed just like a real live person. Harry does not have organs like a human or produced as a human. Henrietta who is human has been set up with synthetic materials. Everything else about Henrietta stays the same as if she was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Free Market Economies Introduction Europe s past wasn t always peaceful as it is today and with friendly relations between countries. For instance the country this report is about had wars with their neighbors the United Kingdom for more than a century. As usual the battles were for supremacy and for the right to have colonies all over the globe, because when these wars were raging the whole world was to be re discovered in some way. Back then navies where the main driving force of the economy and even for the world. They were the only known to man method of transporting goods, slaves and people. History of France France was a pure monarchy for a vast period of its history as an established society of people. During this period people were divided into classes, which was good for some people but for the rest of the country it was devastating. This was the main reason for the French revolution which took 10 years for the people to remove the monarchy regime, but a great man as Napoleon saw the opportunity and took the power, but he wasn t like other dictators, he tried to spread all over Europe a liberal movement with main goal equality for every person no matter what his family is doing for a living. (1) Why is the family business mentioned? The reason for this is that before the revolution classes were divided by their work. Because different classes received different treatment by the king and therefore some were more pleased than others, this inequality had French people to have no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reliability is the consistency with which a measuring instrument yields a certain result when the entity being measured hasn t changed. To apply these concepts to social research, we want to use measurement tools that are both reliable and valid. We want questions that yield consistent responses when asked multiple times this is reliability. Similarly, we want questions that get accurate responses from respondents this is validity. ... • 5. Summary Of False Confessions In Popular Culture I chose an article from the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Criminology and Criminal Justice. The title of the article is False Confessions in Popular Culture. I chose this article because I ve always been fascinated with criminal interviews. I ve attended numerous interview and interrogation courses throughout my career. One of the best interview schools I ever attended was Reid interview and interrogation. One of the most debated subjects in all of these courses was false confessions. The reason I liked the Reid interview and interrogation course is because they offered different techniques on how to avoid false confessions. Another reason that people make complaint false confessions is that they feel they will receive less severe punishment. Persuaded false confessions is when a suspect during a police interview begins to doubt or second guess themselves and falsely confesses to a criminal act, despite having no memory of it. • 7. Describe The Chemical Process In Making Americium Chemical process in making americium: The most popular type of smoke alarm is an ionization chamber smoke alarm. These contain 0.28 micrograms of the radioactive isotope americium 241, in the form of americium dioxide. Americium is a synthetic element, so it must be produced in a nuclear reactor. Americium is made from plutonium 241, yet this needs to also be made in a nuclear reactor. Uranium 238 in a nuclear reactor it is hit with a neutron, which makes uranium 239. Uranium 239 has a half life of 23.5 minutes, the uranium goes through beta decay becomes neptunium 239. Smoke alarms save lives; without a smoke alarm you are 4 times more likely to die in the event of a fire. The americium inside the alarm is an alpha and low energy gamma emitter. Alpha radiation can be stopped by a piece of paper or a few centimetres of air, meaning you could stand under a raw sample of americium and not be in any danger. Yet, gamma radiation has the wavelength near that of an atomic nuclei (10 Pico meters) meaning that they penetrated far more easily. These rays are weak enough not to do any harm, yet are the major factor to the radiation from a smoke alarm. It has become a misconception that smoke alarms are a threat to health because of their radioactivity. The radiation emitted from a smoke alarm annually is 9 50 nano sieverts, eating banana releases the equivalent of 100 nano sieverts, the average background radiation in Australia is 2000000 nano sieverts, to put how little radiation is absorbed from a smoke alarm. The real problem is only when americium is internalised into the body, because it is an alpha emitter. It poses a threat to health because even though the alpha particles themselves are harmless, the speeds they travel give them the ability to break bonds and ionize atoms, thus causing cancer. When in the body 90% stays in you and the rest is excreted, it goes to the liver, bones and ovaries or testicles where it has the possibility to cause cancer or birth ... Although her character is paramount to telling the novel s main story (detailing the prominence of the monopolistic, power hungry tech company known as The Circle ), she is hardly a protagonist, with her being ill informed at best at the book s beginning, and complicit in the Circle s nefarious doings by the novel s conclusion. Mae is an exceptionally bland character who offers little interesting internal dialogue and who s only notable overarching character trait is her ever present insecurity and her need to please others. The Valley Animal Center organizes an event each year to help raise funds for the shelter. The event we participated in is called Wiggle Waggle Walk. As group, we had the task to market the event and come up with a fun interacting activity for the occasion. We had three main objectives that helped us to better organize and focus our ideas. The first objective was to generate a creative and interactive activity for the participants of the Wiggle Waggle Walk to go through. The second objective was to sign up at least five individuals as a result from marketing the event. The last objective was to create promotional flyers to increase awareness and attendance for the walk. To complete the marketing project, we went through a process. Throughout the process, we met with Jackie, our supervisor, at least once a week to keep her updated with our progress. The first time we met with Jackie, she gave us the theme for the event, which was Movie Mania. As a group, we decided to create a Minion Photo Booth for the Wiggle Waggle Walk that took place at the Woodward Park on October 11. Jackie s supervisor liked our idea and gave us the approval to continue with our plan. The next objective was one of the biggest ones, which consisted of signing up at least five individuals for the event. He talked about literature and how it can help the tourism industry which, as we all know, has yet to be fully exploited. So many countries in our part of the world, particularly Thailand, have reaped millions from the flood of tourists visiting these countries. We get only a trickle, for though we have great possibilities, there is not enough global interest in our country and its attractions. Much of this is due to our own myopia, of our leaders who do not understand or realize the myriad possibilities here if we only know how to use them! Jimenez should produce long range programs. This is one common fault of government; a new administration takes over and new policies are made no continuity is pursued. Will the slogan, It s More Fun in the Philippines last only three years from now.? Will it be replaced when a new administration takes over? This is a minor point; will initiatives today be continued in the future? Does the present administration accept the past administration program enough to pursue its good aspects? Adding density to transform cities can also improve quality of life by offering more local amenities and better lifestyles ( Rauland and Newman 2011). These individuals would typically be those who are low risk in nature (not willing to run the risk of being caught), concerned with their money and unable to afford the economic consequent of being caught, rational (in stat economic issues factor higher than the emotional drive of being on a high does), and likely of a certain age (since adolescents, for instance, are more likely to remain undeterred by rational consequences and absorbed in the thrill of the moment.) • 31. Uses And Uses Of Virtualization Virtualization is being able to give a physical device the power, through the use of software, to do more than that physical device was technically designed and able to do (Santana, 2014, p. 12). For example, a server can only run one operating system at a time. However, when a hypervisor is used in a server, the hypervisor is a layer of software that acts like the server itself so that many operating systems can be run from that one server. The hardware, in this case a server, has been virtualized. The goal is to use all of the computer s resources all of the time, and the only way to do that is to have enough things running that the resources are being used consistently and efficiently. An analogy for this could be online classes. If each teacher only had one student, the teacher s resources of time and expertise would not be utilized efficiently because that one student will not need help all day, every day. If the teacher is assigned to fifteen students, the students can still get help when needed from the teacher, and they would not even be aware that they are not alone in the class. Because it is an online class, the teacher does not need any more physical resources to teach an entire class than was needed for one student. The students are receiving the benefits of being taught by that teacher without needing to be with him or her physically. 2. In the beginning, network administrators had to figure out how to share the information they put out on the Internet. It is agreed on a procedure for exchanging information and called it HyperText Transfer Protocol. Using HTTPS, the computers agree on a code between them, and then they scramble the messages using that code so that no one in between can read them. This keeps your information safe from hackers. It uses the code on a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), sometimes called Transport Layer Security (TLS) to send the information back and forth. 2. DNS Operation The next step is to obtain the IP address from the domain name. This is performed by DNS. A DNS lookup, in a general sense, is the process by which a DNS record is returned from a DNS server. Interconnected computers, servers and smart phones need to know how to translate the email addresses and domain names people use into meaningful numerical addresses. A DNS lookup performs this function. The two types of DNS lookups are forward DNS lookups and reverse DNS lookups. Forward DNS is a type of DNS request in which a domain name is used to obtain its corresponding IP address. A DNS server is said to resolve a domain name when it returns its IP address. When I was a little boy, I used to wonder what causes lightning and thunder. When rain comes, I sometimes see intermittent lightning for a while before you can hear the sound of a spark which is like two short circuited power cables. The electrons revolve round the nucleus of the atom in order to keep it stable. Protons are positively charged particles, neutrons are neutral and electrons are negative charge particles. The nucleus is surrounded by shells; these are simply orbitals in which an electron(s) can be found. The number of orbitals depends on how many electrons the atom has. There are multiple events that may have changed the outcome; within this paper I will discuss one, and that will be, what if George Washington s diversionary orders didn t deceive the British. On September 28, 1781 General George Washington started his siege on Yorktown, where the British General Lord Charles Cornwallis garrisoned his 9,000 troops. Those actions are just the final steps that won the battle and solidified the United States as an independent nation. The real beginning of the Battle of Yorktown started in August of 1781 when the French army led by French Commander, the Comte de Rochambeau, convinced General Washington to attack Yorktown instead of New York. The Comte de Rochambeau Stated to General Washington, that if he was to attack New York that they would suffer a great deal of casualties due to the British s well fortification of the area and that the attack wouldn t succeed. However, the distinctive characteristic that makes us unique, which makes humans different from all other species, is our ability to use complex language. As humans are very social beings, people have the natural instinct to connect and communicate with others, to share our emotions and ideas, and as a result, learning a language becomes an instinct for each individual. Language is the device used for communication, Ludwig Wittgenstein, an Austrian philosopher on language, said, The limits of my language are the limits of my world . By this Wittgenstein implies that people use just one language and therefore live in just one world, and if someone is not capable of using the language, their world is narrowed.
