The Theme of Solitude and Lonliness in Mary Shelley s...
Themes are often included in literature in order to provide more meaning and an enhanced
understanding of the text. In the novel, Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley in 1818, Shelley
conveys the theme of solitude and loneliness through the featured characters and their actions.
Throughout the duration of this novel, we see Shelley using the characters Robert Walton, Victor
Frankensteinand his creation to introduce and emphasise this theme of loneliness and solitude. This
theme originates from Shelley s personal life and problems with her husband and father, which
carry over into the novel and make it more realistic. During the time Shelley was writing
Frankenstein, she was experiencing the emotional pains of her newborn s death and... Show more

The creature describes his own desire for a family when he states, The more I saw of them, the
greater became my desire to claim their protection and kindness; my heart yearns to be known
and loved by these amiable creatures: to see their sweet looks directed towards me with
affection, was the utmost limit of my ambition . However, the rejection from this family is the
precipitating event which leads to it seeking revenge against its creator. The Creature reflects on
its loneliness: Satan had his companions (88), I was alone. I remembered Adam s supplication
to his Creator; but where was mine? He had abandoned me, and, in the bitterness of my heart, I
cursed him (88) and I am an outcast in the world forever (90). The loneliness of the Creature leads
it to unbelievable acts of violence, the first one being the killing of Frankenstein s youngest brother
William. The Creature describes its horrible sin in detail and states, I gazed on my victim, and my
heart swelled with exultation and hellish triumph: clapping my hands, I exclaimed, I too can create
desolation; my enemy is not impregnable; this death will carry despair to him, and a thousand other
miseries shall torment and destroy him (97).
Captain Robert Walton s loneliness originates from being a failed poet who wants deeply desires
something great to occur to him. Walton s loneliness is augmented by the letters he sends to his
sister, Margaret Saville, and it

The Buddhist Temple of Chicago practices one of the most...
The Buddhist Temple of Chicago practices one of the most popular sects of Buddhism in Japan
called Jodo Shinsu, also known as Pure Land Buddhism (ShotЕЌ 1). Instead of stressing the Eight
Fold Path, as traditional Theravada Buddhists do, Pure Land Buddhists chose to interpret the
teachings of the Buddha more freely (Wangu 1). Furthermore, Pure Land Buddhists seek guidance
from Amitabha Buddha, a deity figure from MahayanaBuddhism(Wangu 1). As the current ruler of
the Western Paradise of Sahavaki, it is believed that when Amitabha Buddha was on the verge of
enlightenment, he made a vow claiming that if he attained Nirvana, he will help those who seek his
name reach Nirvana as well (Wangu 1). Now, devote Pure Land Buddhists proclaim... Show more

The service began with the strike of a gong by Rev. Nakai followed by a brief moment of silent
meditation. Afterwards, the Three Treasures, also known as saranagamana, were recited. The

Sangha for guidance (budtempchi.org). Furthermore, these three treasures serve as a foundation
of Buddhism (Irons 1). Although the Buddhist Temple of Chicago is moving towards a more
radical approach to Buddhism, the temple still uses some traditional traits of Buddhism.
According to the service book, the day I visited was Hatsu Mairi, which in Japanese means first

School children, aged from five to twelve, presented a game of Paramita Jeopardy. For myself

Concentration, and Wisdom (Edwards 1). However the concept of the Paramitas may hold two
different meanings in Buddhism. In one sense they may be known as a supreme. However in a
more interpretive approach, a Paramita may signify the other shore where the individual must

Citizenship In The United States
In order to understand the phenomenon of the unequal nature of citizenship in the United States,
the true intent of citizenship in the U.S. must be examined. To help define U.S. citizenship I will
analyze the arguments made by Scholar Rebecca Tsosie in her work, The Politics of Inclusion:
Indigenous Peoples and U.S. Citizenship. According to Tsosie, a common misconception of the
United Statesis that the nation was originally constructed to be inclusive and equal to all people
under the Constitution. She disproves this statement by using various examples throughout
American history that counter this claim. Tsosie makes two main claims about U.S. citizenship;
that equality is not directly associated with U.S. citizenship, and that the constitution... Show more

McFarland adds information about taxation by the U.S. in the Virgin Islands. He focuses mainly on
the Tax Reform of 1986 in his article. In McFarland s findings, the tax reform would prevent tax
loopholes within the Islands. For example, Virgin Islands inhabitants would not pay the amount of
taxes continental U.S. citizens would. This shows that the residents do not believe they so be taxed
the same as continental U.S. citizens. The tax information is valuable to the argument of taxation
without representation in my research, which is a strength of McFarland s article. The article is
also weak, because McFarland does not provide information why inhabitants refused to pay the
taxes. In my research, I would conduct interviews to determine this information. My research would
contribute the reason taxation issues in the Virgin Islands take

Animal Cruelty And Cruelty Should Not Be Considered...
For many years, animals have been getting abuse all over the world. Animals are not getting the
right treatment that they deserve. All over the world there are law enforcements for this crime.
Animal Cruelty and Neglect is an issue that not everyone looks at or pays attention to. Those who
are neglecting these species should receive a form of punishment due to them thinking that it s just
a senseless act. Connections of human violenceand animal cruelty are under looked within family
lifestyles. Unintentional, intentional, and cruel intention all maybe the forms of prior human abuse
that can disrupt the future decisions. Under the law, animals are considered property (like a piece
of furniture or a car). What needs to be changed is how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Intentional people also took part in the crime of animal cruelty. Unintentional people take part
in the animal abuse without knowing. Most people have the intentions to be good pet owners
without knowing the right facts. For them to actually do these crimes they have either been
sucked into peer pressure or frustrated and someone or something. Most people have friends
who verbally force them to torture an animal just because they may not be as cool enough to fit
in. Also when people are frustrated they don t know what or who to take it out which cause the
animals to suffer. All they need to know is that they don t have to listen to someone to fit in.
They just need to be themselves and don t worry about what people say. When it comes to the
cruel intentional abusing, it happens with no regret. People do it because they like violence and
pain. I think people who does things like this does not know what to do with their life. Mental
diseases are the cause for this cruel act most of the time. They don t realize they need serious help.
If the people would just go see a psychologist that will give them the support they need they might
be able to change their bad actions.
In Animal Cruelty: Pathway to Violence Against People , Linda Merz Perez and Kathleen M. Heide

Their Eyes Were Watching God Chapter 6 Summary
Chapter 6 of the novel Their Eyes Were Watching God, by Zora Hurston starts out by describing
how Janie detests running the store, but also how she finds some joy in listening to the bright
stories the townsfolk have on the porch. The guys there like to tease Matt Bonner a man with an
overworked good for nothing mule. Jody, regardless of Janie s wonderment in the stories, forbids
her from hanginging out with the trashy people out on the porch. Because of the men who
constantly are entranced by Janie s hair, Jody commands her to wear a head rag around her head
due to his overgrown jealousy. One day Matt Bonners mule runs away and ends up outside of the
store, where some townsmen are torturing it for their own amusement. Janie does not like this
and mutters her disapproval, Jody hears her and decides to buy the mule for five dollars so it
can finally be at peace. After the mule finally dies, Jody has a mock funeral which turns into a
town wide gathering, none of which Janie is allowed to attend to. Later on at the store, Janie and
Jody get into an argument where she tells him that he is no fun, and he tells her that he is just
trying to be responsible. As time goes on the indignation that Janie holds for Jody only grows
stronger. One day, Jody slaps Janie after seven years of having met each other after a treacherous
dinner. Later that same day, Mrs. Robbins begs Jody for a little meat for her family which Jody
spares. The men on the porch talk crudely about the woman,

The Rise Of The Pentecostalism Movement
In this paper I will be discussing the rise of the Pentecostalism movement and briefly how it has
changed the world through its rapid outspreading around the world. Most do not know the great
impact that this movement had on the world. I hope to introduce this movement in this paper and
why it is important to Church History.
Roots of Pentecostalism Pentecostalism has its roots in Wesleyan notions of conversion and the
higher life advocates. Both of these brought out a belief in a second experience that happened after
salvation. They, John Wesley and John Fletcher, called this baptism in the Holy Spirit
. It also has its
origins in the evangelical faith healing movement that was lead by Charles C. Cullis. This
movement focused on healing and the physical well being through miraculous acts. Another was
the early church of Corinth and the Day of Pentecost. The Great Awakening was also apart of the
beginning of this movement through its heartfelt salvation through Jesus Christ. The baptism of the
Holy Ghost streamed out of England through John Wesley s thoughts on entire sanctification.
Another group, Calvinist, who emphasized on a total transformation in their life after conversion.
Through all these influences and divine healing led people to believe that this experience after
conversion that was said to happen was through baptism of the Holy Ghost. Mainly rooted in the
Fourfold Gospel. Another reason this movement took root was because it embodied all the

in this, they ask personal questions about the likes, family, and even how they knew each other.
They may even get to ask what toothpaste uses the other. I have learned from my aunt those 3

her to learn English. In the process to obtain citizenship in the first year are given the applicant s

Another thing that can come to give is that the immigrant is using the citizen to get the

logic when giving the exam the two are perfectly known. The claim can be given, in case the

Economic Impact Of The Space Race
Economic Impacts of the Space Race By: Kimia
The space race was a competition between the United States and the Soviet Union that occurred
during the Cold War. They competed for dominance in space technology and spaceflight, which
spurred many significant inventions and events. Some of these inventions and events include the
first ever landing on the moon, the first artificial satellite to be launched into the Earth s orbit, the
establishment of NASA, the invention of the microprocessor computer, the invention of satellite
communication technology, and other direct and indirect impacts. Each of the different events and
inventions that spawned from the space race have had significant impacts on the United States
economy.
After the end of World War II on September 2, 1945, a new era called the Cold Warbegan. The
Cold War was a non violent state of political and military tension between the democratic and
capitalist United States and the communist Soviet Union: two of the biggest powers of the world at
the time. However, they were drastically different in both economy and politics, allowing rivalry to
build up. They both wanted to become the most powerful nation of the world, and both feared that
the other nation would rise up to become the most powerful nation of the world.
Throughout the Cold War, the US and the Soviet Union, the USSR, tried to outspend and outdo
each other. They looked for any advantage they could get to achieve more attainments than the

Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION
Capital market is now playing a strategic role in a country s economic growth. It facilitates the
exchange of funds between company as demander and investor as supplier. The existence of capital
market enables company to obtain an alternative source of fund. On the other hands, it gives
flexibility for investor to choose investment based on their preference. For both company and
investor who are involved in the capital market, understanding about capital market condition
becomes matter in order to understand how the market is actually works. One aspect of capital
market conditions that might become consideration before deciding to invest is the market
efficiency. The term of market efficiency, which is found in the capital market literature, is used to
elaborate the relationship between the information and the share price. In 1970, Fama proposed the
Efficient Market Theory and defined capital market efficiency as the market in which prices fully
reflect all available information. Depending on the

Benefits And Negatives Of Fruitarianism And Fruittarianism...
Preparing to play Mr. Jobs back in 2013, actor Ashton Kutcher got really into the movie role and
even followed a fruitarian diet himself...Kutcher ended up in the hospital just two days before he
was supposed to begin shooting the movie ( ). An all fruit diet or fruitarianism can be a struggle to
maintain because it is a diet that only consists of natural organic fruitand nothing else. This diet
has been around for a long time, since the first two humans that walked the earth Adam and Eve in
the Garden of Eden were considered fruitarians. Ashton Kutcher is not the only celebrity who has
followed an extreme diet. Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson have experimented with the a diet
called raw food diet better known as raw foodism. Raw foodism is a diet that consist of eating
unprocessed and uncooked foods. Each of these two diets are hardly well known to certain people
in the world because it consists of giving up multiple foods or preparing food differently.
Fruitarianismand Raw foodism are extreme lifestyles that have many health risks, but there are
benefits and negatives to both these diets. Fruitarianism is a devoted diet that requires motivation
of giving up everything that is not fruit. The Fruitarian Foundation determines on who is classified
as a fruitarian, Fruitarian is someone who has a diet composed of more than 50% fruit. There are
actually a set of rules that their diet requires which what fruits they can eat. Fruitarians can choose
from seven basic fruit groups: Acid fruits: Citrus, pineapples, strawberries, pomegranates... Subacid
fruits: Sweet apples, sweet cherries, raspberries, blackberries,... Sweet fruits: Bananas, grapes,
melons, and persimmons. Nuts: Pecans, almonds, Brazil, cashews,... Seeds: Sunflower, sesame,
squash, and pumpkin. Dried fruits: Dates, figs, apricots, apples,...Oily fruits: Avocados, coconuts,
and olives (). They can choose any of these fruits from these categories but they have to be
purchased at only organic stores or taken the fruit directly from the plant or tree. When they choose
to eat a fruit they must eat the same type of fruit and wait until ninety minutes to switch to a

Grimm Brothers Collective Culture
The Grimm brothers lived in a factioned Germany with many different cultures that were struggling
to connect with one another. In attempts to help unify Germany the Grimm brothers, Jacob and
Wilhelm, traveled throughout the country; listening, collecting, and writing down oral stories and
fables from various regions in Germany. They believed that preserving oral culture and stories from
various places in Germany would nationalize Germany by having a collective culture rather than
many different cultures. With seven total editions and a dictionary, preserving culture and unifying
Germany was their life goal. Writing down these oral stories and collecting them assisted in the
formation of Germany as a nationrather than multiple different imagined communities. Most
nations have a shared common culture and an official language. The Grimm brothers helped usher
in an age of oneness in Germany and in doing so, Germany became a more unified nation.
At the time that the Grimm brothers were collecting their stories, Germany was many different
groups of people, differing by region. They were not what we consider today a nation. A nation is
an imagined political community and imagined as both inherently limited and
2
sovereign. (1. Anderson) The term imagined in this sense refers to a group of people who know
that they belong to one another through shared beliefs, however, they will never meet everyone
who is also in that imagined community. They see themselves and each

Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI)
Myocardial Perfusion Imaging is also known as (MPI). It is an imaging modality used in nuclear

Aquinas Third Way Essay
Aquinas 3rd Way
Aquinas third way argument states that there has to be something that must exist, which is most
likely God. He starts his argument by saying not everything must exist, because things are born and
die every single day. By stating this we can jump to the conclusion that if everything need not exist
then there would have been a time where there was nothing. But, he goes on, if there was a time
when there was nothing, then nothing would exist even today, because something cannot come
from nothing. However, our observations tell us that something does exist, therefore there is
something that must exist, and Aquinas says that something is God.
Aquinas argument has a couple of flaws in it. One is pointed out by ... Show more content on

The series also can not have a cause from within because no one being within the series is
necessary. An example of this would be the set of real numbers we use today. Taking one number
away from the set would not cause the set to cease in existence. There is no beginning to the
number set and no end as well. If we view the Universe with the same concept then Aquinas theory
can be seen to have a major flaw.
There is, however, a way to fix Aquinas theory. If we take his logic into account we can say that
there was a time when the universe did not exist. But, the universe exists now therefore it must
have had a beginning. By definition a necessary being has no beginning and now end. Due to this
definition we can say that the universe is not a necessary being. This leaves us with one of three
options: there is a necessary being, the universe has always existed, or something can come into
existence out of nothing. Due to the big bang theory we can eliminate the theory of the universe
always existing. Therefore, there is a necessary being or something can come into existence out of
nothing. Because we know that something cannot come into existence out of nothing we determine
that there must be a necessary being. However, the necessary being is either God or the universe.
Because the universe had a beginning it can not be necessary, therefore God is the necessary being
and he must exist.
The revised version of Aquinas theory seems to work

Welch was a very good hunter for opportunities and also a good manager of risks and threats
while Immelt improved what Welch had. As a successful story in business management,
application of Six Sigma program in GE was spread over the world as one of the most valuable
lessons among businesses in the world relating to quality control. (see Appendix B, Story 1)
Above all, Welch was a ruthless taskmaster at GE. Immelt works with long term perspective
rather with a short term one. Immelt proved that he is a very effective leader by helping GE
overcome the hardship in 2001 when terrorist attacks on September 11 were a harbinger of bad
times to come for GE. (see Appendix B, Story 2)
It s really difficult to say this leader is better than another one. To compare and contrast them, in the
range of this paper, in terms of leadership, we would just use leadership styles, traits of emotional
intelligence that helped them become top leaders in the world.
2.1. Leadership styles
In the reign of Jack Welch during his 20 year at GE, a new leadership style was introduced and
spread companywide. Welch developed a ranking system that put employees in one of the three
categories. The top 20 percent were stars , the middle 70 percent were the crucial majority and the
bottom 10 percent were weeded out. Through his policy of differentiation, Welch was able to

How The Godfather refines female roles
Masculinity in The Godfather
Thesis
The Godfather is a depiction of the stereotypical divide between male dominance and female
submissive nature.
Introduction
The Godfather is a film made by Francis Ford Coppola in 1972 and it is a depiction of a used world
where men are responsible for making all important decisions and women are excluded from any
knowledge of anything going on.
Male masculinity
How The Godfather portrays men? It is a series of movies where men are shown romantically with
a comparison to the culture. This movie shows vengeance and the males are obsessed with figures
of power and authority and the society is divided into hierarchies that show dominance over
women. The film examines the issue of masculinity in a complex manner.
The difference between women s roles and men roles in the movie.
Women have no power and they do not have to shoulder any of the responsibilities that men are

The Eight Sign Miracles of Jesus
There are four Gospels in the New Testament, and each seemingly written to a different audience
base that show different aspects to deity. There are a total of 37 different miracles attributed to
Jesus during his years of ministry on earth; although, there are only eight miracles detailed in the
Gospel of John. John is considered to be more sectarian and exclusive than the other three gospels.
This book was written to convey and convince all those who read it of the Deity of Jesus. The
author tells us in John 20, And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples,
which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that ... Show more

By virtue of Jesus power, the people s desire for him to be their king was based out of selfishness
with what He could offer them, and had remotely nothing to do with the divine revelation of who
he was. Unfortunately, this is the mentality that still exist today with believers and nonbelievers
alike, a selfish mindset that tends to look for and seek out supply rather than seeking to know the
source, which is God.
John uses Jesus walking on water as his fifth sign miracle. This shows that Jesus has power over
all natural laws. Jesus saw the disciples fighting for their lives on a stormy sea and he walks
toward them. The disciples were quite naturally afraid, but when Jesus revealed his identity to
them all of their fears were calmed. John does not recant the story of Peter walking on water with
Jesus as the book of Mark does, perhaps this is done intentionally not to take the spotlight off of the
divine abilities of Jesus, and instead focusing on Peter.
The next sign miracle was another demonstration of his ability to heal. Jesus healed a man born
blind. This healing prompted a similar reaction from the Pharisees and the Jews that healing the
lame man did; although, in this instance it was not done in violation of the Sabbath day. This was
the first time Jesus had admitted openly that illness or affliction have been placed on someone for
the sole purpose of revealing God s glory.

Gryphon s Gold Review (Novomatic)
//copy//
With lion and eagle symbols abound, it s safe to say that Gryphon s Gold is an offering from
Novomatic that leans heavily on its fable theme. In this game the gryphons wreak havoc on the
fairytale land known as Winalot, by making off with unicorns, damsels and dwarfs. They spirit them
away into the hills, thus it is your mission to retrieve them from the mountains, making you a hero
in the pocess. We all know that heroes should be well compensated for their efforts, and any player

Thrown Into A Fairytale
Back when the so called fairytale kingdom of Winalot was a kingdom of peace, players would
envisage gnomes relaxed on their prized mushrooms, as elegant, blonde young women dashed
around on unicorns. Yes, that statement reads just as ridiculous as it sounds. Gryphon s Gold
really is odd in theme, especially when you consider that this is a game that puts players into the
shoes of a hero that must rid the kingdom of evil gryphons. Being completely honest, seldom have
we seen a developer put something so barmy on show across 5 reels and 3 rows before.
Ruling The Kingdom Of Winalot
Winalot becomes a land of plenty for players from the very minute that they arrive. Start by
rescuing mushrooms and gnomes, as your heroic efforts can yield as many as 25,000 coins for
such efforts. Keeping the kingdom s palace invasion resistant can get you 40,000 coins, and atop
that pile of loot could be up to 75,000 coins if you can retrieve pretty maidens and unicorns as

Medical Detoxification In Obama Care
There has been an expectation of society that substance abuse treatment should eliminate alcohol
and illicit drug use while improving individual health and social functioning as to reduce the public
safety threat. The Affordable Care Act of 2010 also known as Obama Care was created with
intentions of expanding the availability of health insurance. In 2011 the President s National Drug
Control Strategy requested investments in screening, intervention and referral to treatment, and
expanded the Access to Recovery voucher program. These initiatives are a start towards total
care for alcohol and substance abuse patients, however from our study we have found that
treatment may be best when considered as a long term possibly life resource for these individuals
to become successfully sober and healthy. One of the initial processes of treatment includes that
of medical detoxification. Detoxification, is defined at the period of time a client is withdrawing
from AOD (141). This detox is necessary in regards to drugs, such as CNS depressants, because of
their dangerous withdrawal symptoms (21). Careful medical supervision in regards to withdrawals
as well as medications that may be used in treating symptoms related to these effects. This process

What Why Xxx Chose A Career As Culinary Arts Is His Passion
As working and studying at the same time, I surround by numerous amazing people from different
countries, cultures and backgrounds. However, they all achieve a certain kind of success in their
own fields. One of my coworkers at Stella s, XXX, a first cook and assistant inventory manager, is
very enthusiastic. Her unequaled palate of sight, taste, and touch has been displayed through her
beautiful style of cooking. The purpose of this interview is to further understand about how would
life be if you were a first cook as well as implementations of cooking concepts in real kitchen
scenario.
Interviewing with XXX help me to learn more about the life of a cook and also applications of
business strategies into running a restaurant. XXX, graduated at RRC 4 years ago with an Honor,
has worked in the Hotel environment for few years then now is an assistant inventory manager in
the restaurant. One of the reasons why XXX chose a career in culinary arts is his passion. XXX
believes that to be successful in culinary arts fields, especially as a kitchen manager, passion is not
enough, but ability and talent. With his genuine devoutness and considerable experience, he has
trained for many new kitchen staffs in the last few years, and became the most favorite employee in

Remedies Under Breach Of Contract
1.3 Remedies available under breach of contract
1.3.1 Breach of a Contract
A breach of contract is where a party to a contract fails to perform, precisely and faithfully, his
obligations under the contract. This can take numerous forms for example, the failure to supply
goods or perform a service as agreed. Breach of contract may be either actual or anticipatory.
пѓ Actual breach occurs where one party refuses to form his side of the bargain on the due date
or performs incompletely. For example: Poussard v Spiers and Bettini v Gye.
пѓ Anticipatory breach occurs where one party announces, in advance of the due date for
performance, that he intends not to perform his side of the bargain. The innocent party might sue
for damages immediately the breach is announced. Hochster v De La Tour is an example.... Show

A legal remedy is a court order that seeks to uphold a person s rights or to reparation a breach of
the law. When one party breaches a contract, the other party might ask a court to deliver a
remedy for the breach. The court might order the breaching party to pay money to the non
breaching party.Without a remedial response; a right would be of little value. Thus the law has
established a series of remedial responses where a breach of contract befalls. The innocent party
might keep a right of action by claiming one or more of the following remedies:

Essay on Dangers of the War on Terrorism
Dangers of the War on Terrorism
The President of the United State has used the phrases War on Poverty , War on Drugs , War on
Illiteracy , and the War on Hunger, when describing the problems Americans are facing. The term
war is used metaphorically to signify our willingness to devote vast resources, and immense
amounts of time to a specified problem. No one seems to have a problem with these phrases as
they do not signify our determination to die for the cause.
The Civil War, World War II, and even the Vietnam War or Conflict designates our determination to
give the lives of soldiers and spill the blood of the enemy to maintain our freedom. These real wars

It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped, and defeated.
Even this definition expands when the President continues to include every nation in every region,
is either with us or against us. From this day forward, any nation that continue to harbor or support
terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime. The president also defines our
participation in the war by committing every resource at out command every means of diplomacy,
every tool of intelligence, every instrument of law enforcement, every financial influence, and
every necessary weapon of war to the disruption and to the defeat of the global terror network. The
Presidents speech drew several ovations and was enthusiastically received, but what does it really
mean.
The portion of the War visible to U.S. citizens and the world has moved from the rural hills of
Afghanistan to portions of Pakistan, and Iraq. The world now seems posed to see who will be
identified as the next terror target. Korea, Iran, Syria, and Pakistan all have been suggested. Even if
we systematically work our way through the more obvious targets, committing our efforts in each
location, it won t stop there. Every country that

Public Opinion On The Topic Of Climate Change Remains Divided
Public opinion on the topic of climate change remains divided despite over two decades worth of
research and a strong consensus in the scientific community (Deryugina and Shurchkov, 2016). In
an experimental survey, the authors tested whether providing the public with information based on
scientific agreement on the occurrence and causes of climate changewould affect the respondent s
beliefs. They found that not only did the public significantly underestimate the extent of the
scientific consensus, the survey also indicated that those who were given concrete information
about scientist s views were more likely to report believing that climate change was already
happening and that it was caused by humans. Moreover, the results concluded... Show more content

1). There are several natural causes which will dictate which direction and by what amount the
temperature changes. Some of these changes are more permanent, most are temporary. One natural
cause of climate change is solar irradiance, a measurement of solar power received from the sun
and measured at the Earth. Studies have shown that changes in solar irradiance have contributed to
climate trends in the past. According to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA),
an example of this is the Little Ice Age, which was a period of regionally cold conditions between
1650 to 1850, that is thought to have been possibly triggered by a decrease in solar output from the
sun. Be that as it may, NASA also states that since 1750, the average amount of energy coming from
the sun has either remained constant or increased only slightly, therefore changes in solar irradiance
cannot explain current global warming data (2017, Solar irradiance section). Likewise, volcanism,
another example of a natural cause of climate change, is also regarded by some scientists as being
the origin of the Little Ice Age. During volcanic eruptions, tiny particles called aerosols are emitted
into the atmosphere. Once in the atmosphere, aerosols reflect solar radiation back into space which
cools the planet. In his article, Causes of Climate Change Over the Past 1000 Years , Crowley
(2000) explains that between 1400 to 1850, volcanic contribution indicated an

Schema Integration Essay
In literature there exist several definitions of Schema:
Schema integration is the process of merging autonomously developed DB schema into a unified,
global schema to provide transparency through a unified view [73].
Schema integration is the process of identifying the components of a database which are related to
one another, selecting the best representation for the global conceptual schema, and finally,
integrating the components of each intermediate schema [74].
12.2.Why is Schema Integration Required?
With respect to the web warehouse, schema integration is one of its important perspectives. There
are heterogeneous sources of data in World Wide Web which vary in their schema configuration.

Pre integration
An analysis of local schemata is carried out. The analysis made governs the choice of schemas to
be integrated and the order of integration. A number of schemas to be integrated at a time and the
amount of designer interaction are also decided in this step [81].
12.4.2.Schema Comparison/Matching
This step involves identifying and analyzing inter schema relationships by determining the
correspondences between the schemas. Possible conflicts are also detected in this phase.
12.4.3.Schema Conforming
In order to integrate schemas, the detected conflicts between them have to be resolved so that it
was possible to merge them [81]. It implies modification of one or both schemas that will be
integrated until each phenomenon in the Universe of the Discourse (UoD) reflects the same form
in both schemas.
12.4.4.Schema Merging
Schema merging results into a single global integrated schema by superimposing the local schemas.
12.5.Conflicts in Schema Integration
Schema integration process may face certain conflicts. The system undergoing the integration
process must be able to identify the arise conflicts. Some of the schema integrations conflicts are
explained below:
12.5.1.Naming Conflict
Different databases use different naming conventions. Naming conflicts occur due to the use of
different names for the same attribute like

Comparison Of Johann Wolfgang Von Goe German Classical And...
There is an ongoing debate in literary circles whether Johann Wolfgang von Goethe s works
should be considered German Classical or European Romanticism. Complicating matters are
statements by Goethe such as his infamous statement The Classical I call healthy and the
Romantic sick . . . Most of the new poetry is not Romantic because it is new, but it is because it
is weak, sickly, and ill, and the old is not Classical because it is old, but because it is strong, fresh,
cheerful, and healthy. (Conversations with Eckerman, April 2, 1829). Works such as Faust by
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe(Part I 1808, Part II 1832) complicate classifications even further as
this masterpiece is in two separate sections, composed years apart, with some categorizing the Part
I and Part II differently. However, Faust, Part I, does have many elements, such as spiritual growth
and topics and characters of the supernatural, that match the European Romanticismphilosophies.
Faust had gained a great wealth of knowledge studying various subjects that require rational and
scientific thought processes and yet, he is no longer satisfied with the world in which he lives.
Upon realizing something is missing that he cannot gain through his traditional academic studies,
he strives to gain knowledge of the spiritual world and the mysteries they hold. The era of
Romanticism entails a core belief that spiritual growth is essential and would allow people to
evolve and increase their human potential. Moreover,

(Williamson). Mandela was elected President of South Africain 1994, and de Klerk became his first

A year later, Mandela proposed that if the whites backed democratic elections, the next rugby
cup would be held in South Africa. The democratic elections occurred, Mandela won the
presidency, and the 1995 World Rugby Cup was awarded to South Africa. The Springboks were
seen as the whites team. The blacks hated and rooted against the Springboks, who had fourteen
white players and just one black player (30 for 30). They would cheer when the opponents
would beat or hurt the Springboks, because in their eyes they saw the people oppressing them
being beat. However, Nelson Mandela decided to embrace the Springbok team and use them as
an opportunity to bring the nation together. Mandela put on the Springbok hat at a rally in
Soweto, endorsed the Springboks, and asked the black South Africans to support them too (Lodge
212). The blacks met the speech with boos, skepticism, and anger. Black South Africans hated
rugby, and the Springbok logo was one directly associated with apartheid oppression (Carlin 192).
Nelson Mandela was a very calculated political leader, and he understood that the black South
Africans would be reluctant of accepting the Springboks. However, he also understood the impact
of sports and that an entire nation rooting for their national team would bring the country together.
South Africa was a very fragile nation at the time, and if things at the World Cup went wrong, it
could have backfired. Mandela s plan relied on both the whites and blacks

My Thoughts On The Skills Essay
Introduction
In my essay, I will be reflecting on my thoughts and feelings on the skill practiced on the DVD.
The essay will also be detailing the working alliance, the relevant skills, models, and theoretical
principles. The essay will be supported with references of the books that I used to develop the
discussion.
I will be concentrating more on the skills that I use on the video. I will discuss how important they
are in counselling relationship. I will also define some other skills I used in the video accordingly.
Main body
The beginning stage I felt the nerve kicked in as I sat down and as soon as I realised the video had
started rolling but I managed to calm down and was able to compose myself.
In the beginning of a session, my main concern as the counsellor was to build and establish a
working relationship with my client (working alliance). As the counsellor I needed to develop
the kind of relationship in which my client is encouraged to work. I tried to negotiate a contract
with the client. I believe that in doing so, I should be able to clarify and define my client s
problem and assess whether or not counselling is likely to help specific needs and also whether or
not I am will be able to work with the client to help her achieve what she want. In other words, as
the counsellor my main aim was the intended outcome and what both my client and I want to
achieve. (Sue Culley, Integrative counselling skills in action).

College Students Should Be Given Information On Composting
College students should be given information on composting in order for them to know the positive
effects. When students get to college, they are no longer under parental super vision. They do not

Dialysis Lab Report
According to dictionary.com, dialysis is the process by which uric acid and urea are removed from
circulating blood by means of a dialyzer . This is needed when a person has any stage of kidney
failure or other issues pertaining to their kidneys. The purpose of dialysis is for the machine to act
as a kidneyand to take away waste, extra water, and salts. This in return helps control blood
pressure and keep a safe level of chemicals in your blood. In this paper I will discuss what it will be
like as a dialysisnurse and important things to know before my observation.
Objective 1: Role of a nurse in dialysis Nurses in dialysis have a variety of different tasks to
perform. Before dialysis occurs, the nurse must check the patient s vital signs while assessing their
condition, educate the patients about their diagnosis and treatment, as well as answer any questions
they may have. During the process it is the nurse s job to watch the treatment beginning to end,
check medications to be given and make sure the medications are correct. After dialysis the nurse
must evaluate the patient s reaction, review the lab work and medications, inform the doctor of any
changes, and support the patient and care team throughout the whole process.

All the members should feel empowered to speak up and not be fearful of retaliations.
Consequently they will feel like their opinions are valuable to each other and that will facilitate
team learning, which in return will create positive outcomes for both organization and the
employees. (Batool Riaz, 2011) 3. Fostering sense of purpose Roche and Sadowsky (2007) state
that providing a meaningful purpose is a powerful leadership tool, one that can transform a group
and allow it to reach new heights of accomplishment. If leaders are able to create commitment by
instilling meaning to a job, then employees will feel like they are making a difference and doing
something that really matters, and that might lead team members to feel like it s worth to find the
solutions for their problems and to engage in better relationships since their purpose is bigger than
themselves. References Awad, S. S., Fagan, S. P., Bellows, C., Albo, D., Green Rashad, B., De La

South Korea An Attractive Market For Australian Beef
Is South Korea an attractive market for Australian beef? This paper will examine the Australian
beef market, and whether it is an attractive market for South Korea to import from. An analysis of
the current Australian and South Korean beef industries; the conditions required to produce beef
most efficiently, following the Heckscher Ohlin Model; tariffs that are involved with these trades,
and the impact of the Korea Australia Free Trade Agreement; environmental implications to
Australia; as well as the cultural environment and geographic factor, will be discussed to
determine whether South Korea is an attractive market for Australian beef. Australia s primary
exports lie in natural resources and agricultural commodities (Siriwardana, 2015). The Australian
beef industry is the sixth largest exporter in the world where average beef exports from Australia
are approximately 1.3 million tonnes, amounting to approximately 65% of total beef production
(Tozer and Marsh, 2012). In a global context, Australia is the sixth largest beef producer and the
second largest beef exporter, therefore it would be most efficient for Australia to trade with other
nations who produce and export beef less effectively (Meat Livestock Australia, 2016). Following
the Heckscher Ohlin Model, Australia is a competitive market due to suitable conditions for beef
manufacturing. Land is one such advantage. Australia has both a large quantity and the appropriate
quality of land for having livestock and

Differences Between The Blind Side Book And Movie
The movie, The Blind Side directed by John Lee Hancock attempted to mimic the book written
by Michael Lewis as much as possible. However, there were noticeable changes made by the
director that changed the overall appearance of the movie compared to the book. Some significant
changes were made by the director by altering the plot, varying with the themes of the book, and
the characterization of characters. With these altercations made by the director, it helps the movie
move at a faster pace than the book, leaving excess detail behind which result in deviation from the
overall purpose of the chapter, character, plot, and theme. The exclusion of excess detail is what
makes the movie better than the book. The first aspect of the movie that

Stereotypes In Black Men And Public Space
Stereotypes are born from fear and ignorance. They are used to wrongly judge an individual or
group. Brent Staples, a black man, is no stranger to this. Black Men and Public Space, written by
Staples, he discusses his experiences as a black man; often being mistaken as a criminal because
of his appearance. Most people see his universal identity and not who he really is. Living in the
city of Chicago as a black man, he is frequently categorized as a thug or aggressor. The purpose of
his essay is to inform the readers about how it feels to be the one who is stereotyped, as well as
to express his discontent of being type casted. As a result of the negative stereotypes involving
black men, Staples has the capacity to negatively alter the space he is in by causing others to fear
him. Equivalently, many people also fear cops because of the stigma they have. Because of this,
the police negatively impact the space they are in. In the article, What Happens When Black People
Learn They Should Fear the Police , Jesse Singal discusses how police brutality has affected the
black community s trust in the police.
Staples often faces stereotypes because of his threatening physical appearance. In fact, during his
night strolls most women he came in contact with would hide their purses and others would walk
towards the opposite side as him. Women in particular are often the ones who fear him. Staples
does not deny the fact that women are the most vulnerable to street violence, and young

A Case for Student Communication in Online Classes

Clark and Feldon (2005) concluded that a facilitator who participates and interacts with students
prevents them from abandoning their course. Better cognitive outcomes occur when students
engage and form a virtual community of learners. The development of a community depends on
online interaction with their peers and the facilitator. Learner satisfaction, perseverance, and
cognitive outcomes characterize the formation of a virtual learning community. Some contest
participation as a prerequisite to learning, claiming students learn sufficiently by observation
(Beaudoin, 2002; Sutton, 2001), and lobby for leniency towards lurking or read only participation.
This article responds to Beaudoin s (2002) article Learning or lurking? Tracking the invisible online
student. He reasoned that students sometimes engage and learn even when not taking part in online
discussions with faculty and other students and showed that low profile students: spend a
significant amount of time in learning related tasks, including logging on, even when not visibly
participating, and they feel they are still learning and benefiting from this low profile approach to
their online studies. (p. 147) We investigated the importance of student online visibility apparent in
the quantity and quality of participation. We explored as a case study the successful completion of
a postgraduate online course by asking the following research questions. (1) How did online

Cultural Significance Of A Hard Day s Night
In this essay I will examine the cultural significance of Richard Lester s A Hard Day s Night.
Examining its influence on other films and cultural phenomena, I shall argue that Lester s film
invented or popularized many filmic conventions now considered standard in the movie and
television industry. This paper covers concepts such as montage theory, jump cuts, camera shots,
French New Wave, art film(especially surrealism), realism (documentary), and performance of the
actors (particularly accents) as they relate to a Hard Day s Night.
A Hard Day s Night stands as a revolutionary movie in the history of motion pictures. It invented
the music video, popularizing what are now standard tropes of the genre. It is the first rebellious

Even though Lester did not invent all of the techniques used in A Hard Day s Night, he
borrowed and re invented techniques which eventually influenced many other films(Ebert, 1996).
For example, Lester s use of jump cuts. Jump Cuts were a legacy of the French New Wave,
which was perfected by Jean Luc Godard in 1960s Breathless. Jump cuts are utilized to increase
expressive effects of editing and this idea was inherited from Einstein s theory and practice of
montage(KovaМ‚acs, 2007) . Koovacs, the author of Screening Modernism states that jump cuts
suggest to the audience the actions which are not represented in film and also represent narrative
device in which scenes or events are not explicitly told but are suggestive (KovaМ‚acs, 2007)

Cinematic Techniques in Strictly Ballroom Essay
Extended Film Response
How the film techniques used by Baz Luhrman to influence the portrayal and development of
characters in the film Strictly Ballroom?
In the film Strictly Ballroom, the director Baz Luhrman uses many different film techniques to
influence the portrayal and development of characters. Costume and makeup is used as a vital
technique to show the audience the characters personalities and also the development of some
characters. Camera angles and lighting is another technique that is used to exaggerate the
characters personalities and the scenes they are in. Luhrman also uses character behaviors as an
effective technique in portraying each characters personality.

Even though Fran became more confident, her costume and makeup still suited her personality.
For example at the Pan Pacific Grand Prix, all of the other female dancers wore bright coloured,
revealing outfits, Fran wore a traditional red Spanish dress. At the end of the film Fran s physical
appearance changed dramatically and so did her confidence. These characters are good examples of
how Luhrman uses costume and makeup to effectively influence the portrayal and development of
characters in the film.
In Strictly Ballroom, Luhrman uses many different camera angles and lighting techniques to
exaggerate scenes, settings and even characters personalities. An example of this is at the start of
the film, when Scott Hastings is dancing by himself in a room, there is a bright, white spotlight on
him as he dances, drawing the audience to watch him. This happens whenever Scott dances and it
shows the audience that Scott has a sense of purity and that he is the protagonist of the film.
Luhrman uses low angle shots when Scott and Fran are dancing at the end of the film, this is a
good technique used so the audience can see them dancing and also gives the audience the
impression that they are dominate and confident. Another character who is a good example of
camera angles and film techniques being used on them to portray their personality is Barry Fife.
Barry is a mean character and Luhrman uses dark, reddish lighting to make him seem evil.

Angel Isolation
Isolation from the world and other people can sometimes be good for people. For those that choose
to step back and take a break from the world, isolation can be a time of growth and self discovery.
However, if a person is forced into isolation, like Gregor Samsa and the angel were, it has a
completely different effect. For the angel in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings and Gregor
Samsain The Metamorphosis, their isolation was physical as well as mental. The angel in The
Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , was locked in a chicken coop for what seems to be
several months, constantly being picked at and gawked at by townspeople who had paid to see
him. He was a large man with enormous wings living in a tiny space with no meaningful human
contact. Although the reader is not able to delve into the mind of the angel and see his thoughts,
it is easy to imagine how someone would feel if they were in a strange place, locked in a small
chicken coop, and looked upon as a sideshow. In the Metamorphosis , Gregor Samsa was also
locked in a small space for several months. Although he was in a familiar place, after his
transition to a bug, he was looked upon by his family as a stranger. He became more and more
isolated as the story went on both from his family and his humanity. Although the angel and Gregor
were both nonhuman and experienced several months of isolations, they were very different. The
angel was described as an old scruffy man with very large wings. Gregor on the other hand was a
human man that had completely turned into a bug. There were no physical human characteristics
to Gregor once he had turned into a large cockroach. The other characters in the stories also treated
the Gregor and the old man very differently. The people in The Very Old Man with Enormous
Wings , seemed to be a lot more fascinated by the angel than scared of him. People wanted to see
the angel and came from all over and even paid money to do so. In The Metamorphosis , Gregor
s family was terrified of him and kept him locked up in his room until he died. Another major
difference between the two characters was that in the end of The Very Old Man with Enormous
Wings , the angel was freed from the coop, gained his strength

Differences Between The Flood And The Epic Of Gilgamesh
When examining the story of the Biblical flood, it is essential to point out that there are other
flood stories in Ancient Near Eastern cultures. In fact, there are up to sixty eight different cultures
with stories of a great flood! It is important for one to see how each flood story affects and
influences one another. For example, it is evident that the Babylonian culture influenced the writer
of the Biblical flood story, which was made hundreds of years after the making of the Babylonian
story. One of the greatest examples of this is in The Epic of Gilgamesh, a Babylonian story that
includes the tale of Utnapishtim, a man some would like to say is similar to the character Noah in
a few ways. Both men are ultimately called upon by a being... Show more content on

As stated in the article Background Info on the Flood Stories , each story has unique elements,
and the differences from the Biblical story are often more striking than the similarities . For
example, in the Atrahasis Epic, one of the gods in the story punishes humanity because of the
amount of noise made. Additionally, in The Epic of Gilgamesh, the god Enlil destroys the city
where Utnapishtim is living in(presumably furious with mankind). In the Genesis Flood Story, the
Yahwist version depicts YHWH as regretting His creation, while the Priestly version depicts God
as tired of human evil and corruption. In all three stories, the different gods send the flood for
similar reasons; they are either angry or annoyed by humanity. However, this is where the
similarities end. The god in the Book of Genesis floods the world in the pursuit of justice/regret,
while the god in Atrahasis is angry for a less significant offense. Though flooding the world is an
unjustified action, it is interesting that a god would be irritated enough at noise to want to eradicate
humanity. These stories are all more intriguing when compared because it helps us to better
understand the motivations of each being that causes the flood event.Again, in the article
Background Info on the Flood Stories , the author talks about how each of these stories have a
different religious interpretation than the

Changes In The Italian Renaissance
Through history, there have been many periods of immense changes being made. In the 15th and
16th century, Italy underwent a monumental change known as the Italian Renaissance. Italy was
not a merged country, but rather in fact multiple independent city states. Merchants needed to be
the best in order to gain wealth, support, and allies so they were able to acquire more power. This
form of power grew the Medici family into high respect and made Florencethe epicenter of Italyand
resulted in the city state s flourishing. The Medici gained respect from its advancements in
architecture and arts for example the Florentine Cathedral which was a disgrace because they
weren t able to make a dome shaped roof. Filippo Brunelleschi hired by the Medicis, was a huge
help to the architecture and art advancements, and fixed this catastrophe. Finding the solution to the

Italian citizens gained great knowledge through the artists who depicted humanism and great life
morals. Italy s old philosophy gained by the Greek was that life had to be hard in order to
succeed, and grew up thinking that life was all about war, conquering lands, and required constant
hard work. In The Courtier by Baldassare Castiglione, I remember having read that the ancients,
especially throughout Greece, had their boys of gentle birth study painting in school as an
honorable and necessary thing... Among the Romans too, it was held in highest honor...
.(Syllabus, 12) Baldassare realized that there was more to life other than the hard work that was
necessary. He understood there needed to be a change in life, and especially in the way the human
race thought. This allowed the people to change their lifestyle for the better allowing more free
time, and allowed the Italian people to become more literate due to the increase in wealth and time.
Castiglione is depicted as one of the most influencal people towards the change in humanity and

maintain their households, but they also played the roles of helping to support the war. Having been
exposed to labor, they learned new skills which advanced women farther. The women and girls
cooked for the soldiers, nursed the wounded and sick and helped them survive their injuries and

  • 2. The Theme of Solitude and Lonliness in Mary Shelley s... Themes are often included in literature in order to provide more meaning and an enhanced understanding of the text. In the novel, Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley in 1818, Shelley conveys the theme of solitude and loneliness through the featured characters and their actions. Throughout the duration of this novel, we see Shelley using the characters Robert Walton, Victor Frankensteinand his creation to introduce and emphasise this theme of loneliness and solitude. This theme originates from Shelley s personal life and problems with her husband and father, which carry over into the novel and make it more realistic. During the time Shelley was writing Frankenstein, she was experiencing the emotional pains of her newborn s death and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The creature describes his own desire for a family when he states, The more I saw of them, the greater became my desire to claim their protection and kindness; my heart yearns to be known and loved by these amiable creatures: to see their sweet looks directed towards me with affection, was the utmost limit of my ambition . However, the rejection from this family is the precipitating event which leads to it seeking revenge against its creator. The Creature reflects on its loneliness: Satan had his companions (88), I was alone. I remembered Adam s supplication to his Creator; but where was mine? He had abandoned me, and, in the bitterness of my heart, I cursed him (88) and I am an outcast in the world forever (90). The loneliness of the Creature leads it to unbelievable acts of violence, the first one being the killing of Frankenstein s youngest brother William. The Creature describes its horrible sin in detail and states, I gazed on my victim, and my heart swelled with exultation and hellish triumph: clapping my hands, I exclaimed, I too can create desolation; my enemy is not impregnable; this death will carry despair to him, and a thousand other miseries shall torment and destroy him (97). Captain Robert Walton s loneliness originates from being a failed poet who wants deeply desires something great to occur to him. Walton s loneliness is augmented by the letters he sends to his sister, Margaret Saville, and it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Buddhist Temple of Chicago practices one of the most... The Buddhist Temple of Chicago practices one of the most popular sects of Buddhism in Japan called Jodo Shinsu, also known as Pure Land Buddhism (ShotЕЌ 1). Instead of stressing the Eight Fold Path, as traditional Theravada Buddhists do, Pure Land Buddhists chose to interpret the teachings of the Buddha more freely (Wangu 1). Furthermore, Pure Land Buddhists seek guidance from Amitabha Buddha, a deity figure from MahayanaBuddhism(Wangu 1). As the current ruler of the Western Paradise of Sahavaki, it is believed that when Amitabha Buddha was on the verge of enlightenment, he made a vow claiming that if he attained Nirvana, he will help those who seek his name reach Nirvana as well (Wangu 1). Now, devote Pure Land Buddhists proclaim... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The service began with the strike of a gong by Rev. Nakai followed by a brief moment of silent meditation. Afterwards, the Three Treasures, also known as saranagamana, were recited. The three treasure state, I go to the Buddha for guidance. I go to Dharma for guidance. I go to the Sangha for guidance (budtempchi.org). Furthermore, these three treasures serve as a foundation of Buddhism (Irons 1). Although the Buddhist Temple of Chicago is moving towards a more radical approach to Buddhism, the temple still uses some traditional traits of Buddhism. According to the service book, the day I visited was Hatsu Mairi, which in Japanese means first visit. On this day, the children of temple members are welcomed to temple. So, the Dharma School children, aged from five to twelve, presented a game of Paramita Jeopardy. For myself and the rest of the congregation, our skills of knowing the Six Paramitas were put to the test. Paramita, also known as a perfection, include Donation, Morality, Forbearance, Effort, Concentration, and Wisdom (Edwards 1). However the concept of the Paramitas may hold two different meanings in Buddhism. In one sense they may be known as a supreme. However in a more interpretive approach, a Paramita may signify the other shore where the individual must leave the shore of life to reach to the shore of Nirvana (Edwards 1). • 4. Citizenship In The United States In order to understand the phenomenon of the unequal nature of citizenship in the United States, the true intent of citizenship in the U.S. must be examined. To help define U.S. citizenship I will analyze the arguments made by Scholar Rebecca Tsosie in her work, The Politics of Inclusion: Indigenous Peoples and U.S. Citizenship. According to Tsosie, a common misconception of the United Statesis that the nation was originally constructed to be inclusive and equal to all people under the Constitution. She disproves this statement by using various examples throughout American history that counter this claim. Tsosie makes two main claims about U.S. citizenship; that equality is not directly associated with U.S. citizenship, and that the constitution... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... McFarland adds information about taxation by the U.S. in the Virgin Islands. He focuses mainly on the Tax Reform of 1986 in his article. In McFarland s findings, the tax reform would prevent tax loopholes within the Islands. For example, Virgin Islands inhabitants would not pay the amount of taxes continental U.S. citizens would. This shows that the residents do not believe they so be taxed the same as continental U.S. citizens. The tax information is valuable to the argument of taxation without representation in my research, which is a strength of McFarland s article. The article is also weak, because McFarland does not provide information why inhabitants refused to pay the taxes. In my research, I would conduct interviews to determine this information. My research would contribute the reason taxation issues in the Virgin Islands take ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All over the world there are law enforcements for this crime. Animal Cruelty and Neglect is an issue that not everyone looks at or pays attention to. Those who are neglecting these species should receive a form of punishment due to them thinking that it s just a senseless act. Connections of human violenceand animal cruelty are under looked within family lifestyles. Unintentional, intentional, and cruel intention all maybe the forms of prior human abuse that can disrupt the future decisions. Under the law, animals are considered property (like a piece of furniture or a car). What needs to be changed is how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Intentional people also took part in the crime of animal cruelty. Unintentional people take part in the animal abuse without knowing. Most people have the intentions to be good pet owners without knowing the right facts. For them to actually do these crimes they have either been sucked into peer pressure or frustrated and someone or something. Most people have friends who verbally force them to torture an animal just because they may not be as cool enough to fit in. Also when people are frustrated they don t know what or who to take it out which cause the animals to suffer. All they need to know is that they don t have to listen to someone to fit in. They just need to be themselves and don t worry about what people say. When it comes to the cruel intentional abusing, it happens with no regret. People do it because they like violence and pain. I think people who does things like this does not know what to do with their life. Mental diseases are the cause for this cruel act most of the time. They don t realize they need serious help. If the people would just go see a psychologist that will give them the support they need they might be able to change their bad actions. In Animal Cruelty: Pathway to Violence Against People , Linda Merz Perez and Kathleen M. Heide provide insight into the horrors of violence against animals by building on previous research that examined the link between animal cruelty and human interpersonal violence. The Rise Of The Pentecostalism Movement In this paper I will be discussing the rise of the Pentecostalism movement and briefly how it has changed the world through its rapid outspreading around the world. Most do not know the great impact that this movement had on the world. I hope to introduce this movement in this paper and why it is important to Church History. Roots of Pentecostalism Pentecostalism has its roots in Wesleyan notions of conversion and the higher life advocates. Both of these brought out a belief in a second experience that happened after salvation. They, John Wesley and John Fletcher, called this baptism in the Holy Spirit . It also has its origins in the evangelical faith healing movement that was lead by Charles C. Cullis. This movement focused on healing and the physical well being through miraculous acts. Another was the early church of Corinth and the Day of Pentecost. The Great Awakening was also apart of the beginning of this movement through its heartfelt salvation through Jesus Christ. The baptism of the Holy Ghost streamed out of England through John Wesley s thoughts on entire sanctification. Another group, Calvinist, who emphasized on a total transformation in their life after conversion. Through all these influences and divine healing led people to believe that this experience after conversion that was said to happen was through baptism of the Holy Ghost. • 15. Grimm Brothers Collective Culture The Grimm brothers lived in a factioned Germany with many different cultures that were struggling to connect with one another. In attempts to help unify Germany the Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm, traveled throughout the country; listening, collecting, and writing down oral stories and fables from various regions in Germany. They believed that preserving oral culture and stories from various places in Germany would nationalize Germany by having a collective culture rather than many different cultures. With seven total editions and a dictionary, preserving culture and unifying Germany was their life goal. Writing down these oral stories and collecting them assisted in the formation of Germany as a nationrather than multiple different imagined communities. Most nations have a shared common culture and an official language. The Grimm brothers helped usher in an age of oneness in Germany and in doing so, Germany became a more unified nation. At the time that the Grimm brothers were collecting their stories, Germany was many different groups of people, differing by region. They were not what we consider today a nation. A nation is an imagined political community and imagined as both inherently limited and 2 sovereign. (1. • 17. Aquinas Third Way Essay Aquinas 3rd Way Aquinas third way argument states that there has to be something that must exist, which is most likely God. He starts his argument by saying not everything must exist, because things are born and die every single day. By stating this we can jump to the conclusion that if everything need not exist then there would have been a time where there was nothing. But, he goes on, if there was a time when there was nothing, then nothing would exist even today, because something cannot come from nothing. However, our observations tell us that something does exist, therefore there is something that must exist, and Aquinas says that something is God. Aquinas argument has a couple of flaws in it. One is pointed out by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The series also can not have a cause from within because no one being within the series is necessary. An example of this would be the set of real numbers we use today. Taking one number away from the set would not cause the set to cease in existence. There is no beginning to the number set and no end as well. If we view the Universe with the same concept then Aquinas theory can be seen to have a major flaw. There is, however, a way to fix Aquinas theory. If we take his logic into account we can say that there was a time when the universe did not exist. But, the universe exists now therefore it must have had a beginning. By definition a necessary being has no beginning and now end. Due to this definition we can say that the universe is not a necessary being. This leaves us with one of three options: there is a necessary being, the universe has always existed, or something can come into existence out of nothing. Due to the big bang theory we can eliminate the theory of the universe always existing. Therefore, there is a necessary being or something can come into existence out of nothing. Because we know that something cannot come into existence out of nothing we determine that there must be a necessary being. However, the necessary being is either God or the universe. Because the universe had a beginning it can not be necessary, therefore God is the necessary being and he must exist. The revised version of Aquinas theory seems to work ... There are a total of 37 different miracles attributed to Jesus during his years of ministry on earth; although, there are only eight miracles detailed in the Gospel of John. John is considered to be more sectarian and exclusive than the other three gospels. This book was written to convey and convince all those who read it of the Deity of Jesus. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By virtue of Jesus power, the people s desire for him to be their king was based out of selfishness with what He could offer them, and had remotely nothing to do with the divine revelation of who he was. Unfortunately, this is the mentality that still exist today with believers and nonbelievers alike, a selfish mindset that tends to look for and seek out supply rather than seeking to know the source, which is God. John uses Jesus walking on water as his fifth sign miracle. This shows that Jesus has power over all natural laws. Jesus saw the disciples fighting for their lives on a stormy sea and he walks toward them. The disciples were quite naturally afraid, but when Jesus revealed his identity to them all of their fears were calmed. John does not recant the story of Peter walking on water with Jesus as the book of Mark does, perhaps this is done intentionally not to take the spotlight off of the divine abilities of Jesus, and instead focusing on Peter. The next sign miracle was another demonstration of his ability to heal. Jesus healed a man born blind. This healing prompted a similar reaction from the Pharisees and the Jews that healing the lame man did; although, in this instance it was not done in violation of the Sabbath day. This was the first time Jesus had admitted openly that illness or affliction have been placed on someone for the sole purpose of revealing God s glory. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of these changes are more permanent, most are temporary. One natural cause of climate change is solar irradiance, a measurement of solar power received from the sun and measured at the Earth. Studies have shown that changes in solar irradiance have contributed to climate trends in the past. According to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), an example of this is the Little Ice Age, which was a period of regionally cold conditions between 1650 to 1850, that is thought to have been possibly triggered by a decrease in solar output from the sun. Be that as it may, NASA also states that since 1750, the average amount of energy coming from the sun has either remained constant or increased only slightly, therefore changes in solar irradiance cannot explain current global warming data (2017, Solar irradiance section). Likewise, volcanism, another example of a natural cause of climate change, is also regarded by some scientists as being the origin of the Little Ice Age. During volcanic eruptions, tiny particles called aerosols are emitted into the atmosphere. Once in the atmosphere, aerosols reflect solar radiation back into space which cools the planet. In his article, Causes of Climate Change Over the Past 1000 Years , Crowley (2000) explains that between 1400 to 1850, volcanic contribution indicated an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is an ongoing debate in literary circles whether Johann Wolfgang von Goethe s works should be considered German Classical or European Romanticism. Complicating matters are statements by Goethe such as his infamous statement The Classical I call healthy and the Romantic sick . . . Most of the new poetry is not Romantic because it is new, but it is because it is weak, sickly, and ill, and the old is not Classical because it is old, but because it is strong, fresh, cheerful, and healthy. Works such as Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe(Part I 1808, Part II 1832) complicate classifications even further as this masterpiece is in two separate sections, composed years apart, with some categorizing the Part I and Part II differently. However, Faust, Part I, does have many elements, such as spiritual growth and topics and characters of the supernatural, that match the European Romanticismphilosophies. Faust had gained a great wealth of knowledge studying various subjects that require rational and scientific thought processes and yet, he is no longer satisfied with the world in which he lives. He had some extreme difficulties with his parents and his childhood. His family wasn t categorized in a social class; they didn t own anything like a farm, store, bank or industry. Ronald Reagan was born on February 6, 1911 in Illinois, in a town called Tampico, in a one bedroom rental over a bank building. His mother named him Ronald, but he didn t like it so he asked people to start calling him what his father called him, Dutch. He wanted to leave those tough times in the past. When Ronald was just six years old, World War I came to America. He knew about everything; he saw the flags, heard the songs and he visited the soldiers when they came to town. Dutch couldn t really keep friends so he learned not to need them too much. He became more of a reader and someone who spent hours drawing and imagining. Ronald went to Eureka College, which was a very small school in a small town in northern Illinois. It was extremely inexpensive for tuition, room and board but he couldn t afford it even if they d accept him. He fell in love with the Illinois architecture, Georgian style buildings covered in ivy, acres of land surrounded by trees. He went to Eureka College one day to convince the president of the school and football coach s that he was terrific football player, a lifeguard and a very good swimmer. They actually let him in, with a student scholarship and a job that would pay for his meals and books. He played football and decided to go into campus politics. This paper will examine the Australian beef market, and whether it is an attractive market for South Korea to import from. An analysis of the current Australian and South Korean beef industries; the conditions required to produce beef most efficiently, following the Heckscher Ohlin Model; tariffs that are involved with these trades, and the impact of the Korea Australia Free Trade Agreement; environmental implications to Australia; as well as the cultural environment and geographic factor, will be discussed to determine whether South Korea is an attractive market for Australian beef. Australia s primary exports lie in natural resources and agricultural commodities (Siriwardana, 2015). The Australian beef industry is the sixth largest exporter in the world where average beef exports from Australia are approximately 1.3 million tonnes, amounting to approximately 65% of total beef production (Tozer and Marsh, 2012). In a global context, Australia is the sixth largest beef producer and the second largest beef exporter, therefore it would be most efficient for Australia to trade with other nations who produce and export beef less effectively (Meat Livestock Australia, 2016). Brent Staples, a black man, is no stranger to this. Black Men and Public Space, written by Staples, he discusses his experiences as a black man; often being mistaken as a criminal because of his appearance. Most people see his universal identity and not who he really is. Living in the city of Chicago as a black man, he is frequently categorized as a thug or aggressor. The purpose of his essay is to inform the readers about how it feels to be the one who is stereotyped, as well as to express his discontent of being type casted. As a result of the negative stereotypes involving black men, Staples has the capacity to negatively alter the space he is in by causing others to fear him. Equivalently, many people also fear cops because of the stigma they have. Because of this, the police negatively impact the space they are in. In the article, What Happens When Black People Learn They Should Fear the Police , Jesse Singal discusses how police brutality has affected the black community s trust in the police. Staples often faces stereotypes because of his threatening physical appearance. Clark and Feldon (2005) concluded that a facilitator who participates and interacts with students prevents them from abandoning their course. Better cognitive outcomes occur when students engage and form a virtual community of learners. The development of a community depends on online interaction with their peers and the facilitator. Learner satisfaction, perseverance, and cognitive outcomes characterize the formation of a virtual learning community. Some contest participation as a prerequisite to learning, claiming students learn sufficiently by observation (Beaudoin, 2002; Sutton, 2001), and lobby for leniency towards lurking or read only participation. These characters are good examples of how Luhrman uses costume and makeup to effectively influence the portrayal and development of characters in the film. In Strictly Ballroom, Luhrman uses many different camera angles and lighting techniques to exaggerate scenes, settings and even characters personalities. An example of this is at the start of the film, when Scott Hastings is dancing by himself in a room, there is a bright, white spotlight on him as he dances, drawing the audience to watch him. This happens whenever Scott dances and it shows the audience that Scott has a sense of purity and that he is the protagonist of the film. Luhrman uses low angle shots when Scott and Fran are dancing at the end of the film, this is a good technique used so the audience can see them dancing and also gives the audience the impression that they are dominate and confident. • 48. Angel Isolation Isolation from the world and other people can sometimes be good for people. For those that choose to step back and take a break from the world, isolation can be a time of growth and self discovery. However, if a person is forced into isolation, like Gregor Samsa and the angel were, it has a completely different effect. For the angel in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings and Gregor Samsain The Metamorphosis, their isolation was physical as well as mental. The angel in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , was locked in a chicken coop for what seems to be several months, constantly being picked at and gawked at by townspeople who had paid to see him. He was a large man with enormous wings living in a tiny space with no meaningful human contact. Although the reader is not able to delve into the mind of the angel and see his thoughts, it is easy to imagine how someone would feel if they were in a strange place, locked in a small chicken coop, and looked upon as a sideshow. In the Metamorphosis , Gregor Samsa was also locked in a small space for several months. Although he was in a familiar place, after his transition to a bug, he was looked upon by his family as a stranger. He became more and more isolated as the story went on both from his family and his humanity. Although the angel and Gregor were both nonhuman and experienced several months of isolations, they were very different. The angel was described as an old scruffy man with very large wings. Gregor on the other hand was a human man that had completely turned into a bug. There were no physical human characteristics to Gregor once he had turned into a large cockroach. The other characters in the stories also treated the Gregor and the old man very differently. The people in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , seemed to be a lot more fascinated by the angel than scared of him. People wanted to see the angel and came from all over and even paid money to do so. In The Metamorphosis , Gregor s family was terrified of him and kept him locked up in his room until he died. Another major difference between the two characters was that in the end of The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , the angel was freed from the coop, gained his strength ... Additionally, in The Epic of Gilgamesh, the god Enlil destroys the city where Utnapishtim is living in(presumably furious with mankind). In the Genesis Flood Story, the Yahwist version depicts YHWH as regretting His creation, while the Priestly version depicts God as tired of human evil and corruption. In all three stories, the different gods send the flood for similar reasons; they are either angry or annoyed by humanity. However, this is where the similarities end. The god in the Book of Genesis floods the world in the pursuit of justice/regret, while the god in Atrahasis is angry for a less significant offense. Though flooding the world is an unjustified action, it is interesting that a god would be irritated enough at noise to want to eradicate humanity.
