An Article On The Middle East
Nowadays whether you are reading an article on a news paper or you are watching the news on
television you will notice that there is a common topic always covered: issues in the Middle East.
This region has an ancient and fascinating history that dates back to archaic times. It has generally
been considered a major centre of international trade and cultural development. However in recent
times this region has been home to different conflicts that have divided the world to the point that
Western countries are now weary and extremely cautious when engaging with this area.
Nevertheless when the Middle Eastis analasyed in order to explain the current situation there is a
lack of focus on the external factors that have shaped and developed the region to its modern form.
In this essay I am going to give a concise description of the region s demography and territory with
the intent to define the limits of what is interpreted as Middle East.
Successively I will provide a brief summary of the history and evolution of the area from the fall of
the Roman Empire to the second half of the twentieth century, highlighting the fundamental events
and factors that have signed the constitution of the region as we know it.
I am then going to describe the main forms of government that have characterized the generation of
the modern states that are part of the contemporary Middle East.
Finally I will analyse and focus on the external forces and elements that have shaped and continue
to shape

The Strategic Perspective: Competitive Challenges and Competitive Advantages of Family
Business (BRITTANY)
Much like most family businesses, GLORY INDUSTRIES, holds several competitive advantages.
The ability for GLORY INDUSTRIES to capitalize on its unique advantages begins with trust. CEO,
Myrtha Vilbon, and Commercial Director, Nathalie A. Clodomir are related. Mother, Myrtha Vilbon
and daughter, Nathalie A. Clodomir, demonstrate the truest nature of family ownership management
interaction. With the trust that comes from being a family, Myrtha Vilbon trusts her daughter
Nathalie to make decisions as Commercial Director and to negotiate and secure deals with local
wholesalers. This in turn, results in lower administrative costs, and a quicker agility to adjust to
changing demands of the market. The lowered costs accrued by the family relationship allows
GLORY INDUSTRIES to produce a quality product cheaper than competitors. In lieu, of the
lowered cost structure GLORY INDUSTRIES is able to earn a higher profit margin than
competing rivals and focus more of its efforts in making products more customer centric. GLORY
INDUSTRIES also benefits from lessened employee training costs, CEO compensation, and

So how is are these regulations going to affect Glory Industries? Well, According to Haitian law,
parties are working on equal treatment of manufacturing companies that produce for local markets
regardless of factors such as nationality, and size. As long as they reside and produce their products
in Haiti, they will receive equal treatment such as taxes and government regulations. There are also
tax breaks on income according to recent statutes that have been passed. These statutes allow for a

The Federal Reserve System And Economic Development
The Federal Reserve
The Federal Reserve System was created by Congress in 1913 and passed the Federal Reserve
Act in order to provide for a safer and more flexible banking and monetary system. According to
the changing needs of the system, its objectives have been changing throughout the history of the
Fed. At first, its original purposes were to give the country an elastic currency, provide facilities for
discounting commercial credits, and improve the supervision of the banking system under a
decentralized bank. (The Federal Reserve System, 1984, 1). Prior to its establishment (the Fed), the
supply of bank credit and money was inelastic, thus resulting in an irregular flow of credit and
money, and contributed to unstable economic development. These objectives were aspects
economic policies and national monetary. However, through time, stability and growth of the
economy, high employment levels, stability in the purchasing power of the dollar, and reasonable
balance in transactions with foreign currencies have become to be recognized as primary objectives
of the governmental economic policy.
The Fed is an independent central bank. Its decisions are not ratified by the president or any other
government institutions. However, the Fed has to report to the Congress. The book of the Federal
Reserve System (1984, 2) uses the term of independent within the government , since the Fed has to
work within the framework of the objectives of economic and financial policy

The Role Of The Accounting Profession And The Value Of The...
Accountants play an important role in the world of business. The article, The Future of the
Accounting Profession and the Value of the CPA. , illustrates the importance of the accounting
profession and the challenges that accountants face. With over ten years of experience working in
the areas of finance and office management, I have personal experience with various influences in
the accounting world that were discussed in the article. This includes topics such as technological
advancements, the merits of networking mentorship, the value of obtaining a CPA designation,
accountancy education, and work life balance (WLB). The accounting profession continues to
evolve alongside social trends and corporate developments, such as corporate social responsibility
(CSR) and crowdfunding. In my previous position as Director of Finance Administration at
Disability Rights International (DRI), I have traveled to many countries and conducted several
international financial trainings and workshops to encourage education, transparency, and self
sustainability to local partners and field offices. I have seen first hand how financial reporting
and fiduciary responsibility is a powerful tool, which one can wield to impact and empower to
promote social change. However the reverse is also true: social changes also affect financial
reporting. After reading the Jones Jonas (2011) article, Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting:

Insanity Defense Pros And Cons
Insane Insanity Plea The option to utilize the insanity defense in court should be supported because
it is needed to acquit those individuals who had no control over their actions due to a physical
ailment, to put a mentally ill patient in with the general prison population would be
unconstitutional, and those who are mentally insane need special services for rehabilitation. The
insanity defenseshould be available to those who had no control of their actions due to a physical
illness. D wounded a female neighbor friend whilst sleepwalking. They had been watching videos

The criminally insane need a special form of rehabilitation and should be granted to right to fight
for this sentence. The insanity defense serves a definitive purpose in our legal system dismissing
those who should truly be found innocent. The option to utilize the insanity defense in court should
not be supported because it is not always effective for those who truly need it, it is a Catch 22 and
a mental illness does not dismiss the fact that a crime has taken place. The insanity plea should be
abolished because it does not help those who need it, the bar at which you qualify for insanity is
near unreachable, which renders the plea useless. Psychiatrists who examined Andrea Yates
testified repeatedly she was mentally ill and suffered from severe postpartum depression but
that was not enough to brand her legally insane (Seligman). This woman was later retried and
did succeed in using the insanity defense. The fact that she was not allowed to use it the first
time shows how hard it is to succeed using this defense. The first time she tried to use the
defense, she clearly qualified but was dismissed due to other factors; if the plea is not for the
insane then who is it for? The insanity plea should be reexamined because it is a Catch 22. Owen

Johannes Vermeer And Albert Bierstadt
Two painters in history are known for their abilities to depict scenes in such realistic manners that
you would never know they are actually producing paintings. These painters are named Johannes
Vermeer and Albert Bierstadt. Both men came from different times and ethnic backgrounds.
Dutchman, Johannes Vermeer was born in the year 1632 and passed away in 1675. Over his
lifetime Vermeer used a style of paintingthat causing modern day historians and art lovers to
struggle to figure out how he painted such realistic scenes that mimicked photographs. His style
combined many pictorial depth cues while maintaining a strong sense of realism throughout the
relatively few paintings he produced. Next is Prussian artist Albert Bierstadt, who was born in the
year 1830 and passed away in 1903. Bierstadt is widely known for his highly realistic paintings of
the American West landscape. Combining pictorial depth cues and visual realism were his
specialties, while raising a large degree of illusionism in his paintings. In his lifetime Bierstadt
produced over 500 paintings, most of which pertained to the places he visited on his journey
across the United States. While Bierstadt and Vermeer were two very different men, their works
shared common elements. Vermeer s The Music Lesson and The Concert and Bierstadt s Yosemite
Valley share many of the same pictorial depth cues, realism, and even a sense of illusionism. In
order to analyze how these works of art are alike, three questions must be

Theater used in the context of youth ministry is a brilliant strategy for deepening the faith
journey of students. This is because art is a reflection of life. It holds a mirror to that which we
see everyday and presents it in a different light, bringing forward new messages and changing not
only the audience but the performer. Used and approached properly, the performing arts can
expand the mind, strengthen the body, and fortify the spirit. This can be done regardless of the
production or character being portrayed. In this way youth can see what it is to live in the world
and not be of it (John 17:14 18).
The Theology A foundational part of the theology behind the theater department at Corban
University is the belief that we are created in the image of God (Gen 1:26 27). Because of this, we
are blessed with many of his characteristics, one of which is creativity (Gen 1). Since we live in a
world fallen to sin, we as humans are broken. The brokenness leads to insecurity in our gifts, in
our worship and even in our relationships. In participating in a production that reflects the broken
nature of humanity and the redemptive power of Christ, students can participate in that creativity
and grow in practical understanding of theology (Heb 5:13 14). This approach to a foundation
for theater as a ministry is important because it brings us back to the basics of who we are as
children of God (John 1:12 13; Phil 2:15). It also reminds us that God is not just within the box of

Renaissance Dance Research Paper
In the Renaissance time, there were ways to express yourself such as music, dance, and painting. I
chose to write about how people would express themselves using dance. There were many different
types of dances as well as a lot of interesting history and interesting meanings behind the way they
would dance. There were many kinds of dances. There were also two different categories of
dances (Court and Country dances). Court dances were formal dances performed by well trained
dancers. Country dances were dances that anyone could participate in. Each individual dance was
used for a different occasion. Usually the first dance of the night was the Pavane which was a
slow, walking dance and was usually used to show off gowns or clothing. The Saltarello,... Show

The dances from the Renaissance might seem boring to modern day social dancers, however
(http://dance.lovetoknow.com). The dance called the Pavane, or the walk, was designed to show
off clothing. The steps for this dance were designed to be small and simple (http:/
/dance.lovetoknow.com). The Galliard, Coranto, and Canario were dances that move at a quicker
tempo, and results in making dancers perform quicker steps (http://www.streetswing.com). The
Basse dance however, was a dance where people would glide slowly and gracefully (http:/
/www.streetswing.com). These dances were an elegant form of exercise and an expected social
skill for society s noble set (http://www.streetswing.com). Social dances were performed by an
infinite number of people and usually preformed in circles or lines. More complex dances would
require a dancing master, or instructor (http://www.streetswing.com). These are some of the
intentions behind the dances.
This is what I learned about dances in the Renaissance time. I learned that dance has evolved
throughout time. Dance is still even important to some cultures today. Dance has become more
than just an art, it has become a part of our everyday lives. It s a way to meet people and get to
know people. Many of these things I didn t even know, but still found fascinating! I found this stuff

The Victory Song Of Devorah Essay
INTRODUCTION TO THE PROPHETS SEFER SHOFTIM Sefer Shoftim The Victory Song of
Devorah by Shani Berg I will be discussing the Victory Song of Devorah in the fifth chapter of
Sefer Shoftim. Not at all like Sefer Yehoshua, our book introduces an extremely unsympathetic
depiction of the general population of Israel, for it accuses them of inappropriate behavior against
G d, and afterward starkly portrays the results of the Divine displeasure which unavoidably follows.
Most likely the conditions were troublesome. The moderately short and grisly wars of triumph were
long over while the considerable and augmented assignment of settlement still posed a potential
threat before the general population, testing their physical strength as well as their good and
profound fiber too. Gradually, they cleared the scantily settled slope nation and built up themselves
in the more prolific and populated valleys, and wherever they were ceaselessly gone up against with
the unpropitious decision of either restricting their Canaanite adversaries with their polytheistic and
relativistic ways or else obliging or notwithstanding grasping them. A large portion of the tribes
generally picked the last mentioned. By giving reprieve to the Canaanites and to their ethically
degenerate courses Israel pursued calamity, annihilation and destruction. In any case, however the
general population strayed from God and were rebuffed appropriately, unfailingly they soon shouted
out to Him for help from their

Care Delivery Models in Work Place
As an emergency nurse, I work in a very fast paced environment with many different groups of
health care workers dealing with patients from all age groups and with different health complaints.
As we all were witnessed at some points in our career, health care system goes under changes
constantly which can be challenging sometimes. Example of that can be the change related to
technology system. Technology has brought about changes in the delivery of healthcare, especially
in the speed with which information is communicated and stored and in the amount and kind of
information that is available for decision making in nursing and administration. (King, 2006, p.

Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness Illuminates the...
Since the introduction of Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness into society, critics have debated over
the meaning of the ambiguous title. There are many interpretations of this title, but the general
consensus is that in the heart of darkness, you cannot do good: you can only be less evil. The title
refers to not only the physical lack of lightin the jungle, but also to the grim consequences of
imperialism due to the stygian heart of mankind.
The first meaning is that the heart of darkness refers to actual lack of light in the book, the jungle
in particular. In the beginning of the novel, Marlow describes that the air was dark above
Gravesend (3). This is foreshadowing of the looming darkness Marlow will face ahead. When
Charlie reaches the edge of the jungle, he describes it as so dark green to be almost black (11).
This refers to the caliginous jungle, but also the corruptive nature of the jungle as seen through
the transformation of Kurtz. Another example of physical darkness occurs when darkness
encroaches on Marlow and the listeners. Marlow describes it as being so pitch dark that we
listeners could barely see each other (95). Marlow observes that the forest draws him in and seems
beckon him to explore it. It had a treacherous appeal to the lurking death, to the hidden evil, to the
profound darkness of its heart (36). Marlow recognizes the lightlessness, but is still drawn to it.
This emphasizes the darkness every man and woman has within them. It is in the

Is Comedy Really Censored Essay
Comedy tends to be a very subjective thing, what you find funny another may not find all that

Which lets whatever jokes be said no matter how funny or offensive someone may or may not find
it. But in recent years this previously seemingly untouchable area that is comedy has seen it self
almost censored. But should comedy be given a pass from the fervent pc culture of the 21st

Comedy should not be restrained to rules that constrain what can be and what can t be said.
Comedy is supposed to consist of a observational and satirical ideas and jokes and with the

But instead of trying to get rid of that type of Comedy people should talk with their wallet

Although they might not like it their are others that do. As with any opinion our country we are

Motorcycle Insurance Rate Quote
For the person who is looking to upgrade or change their motorcycle insurance, it is immensely
important to take a detailed approach when evaluating the insurance options that are available.
There are certain questions that should be answered during the process of evaluating different
insurance companies and the policies that they offer. The following six questions represent areas
where people are unsure about their coverage. The answer to these questions will provide the
clarity necessary to make an educated decision when choosing the motorcycle insurance that will be

How is Insuring a Motorcycle Different than Insuring a Car?
Risk
The most prevalent difference between insuring a motorcycle verses a car is the risk variable.
There are simply different types of risks associated with riding a motorcycle. The unique risks
associated with riding a motorcycle must be accounted for in the type of coverage that will be

Type of Vehicle
Other variables include the difference in the vehicles and the presence of safety mechanisms, or the

The French Of Religious Identity Essay
Have you ever wondered why the French are so private about their religion? It is because the
French are required to keep their religious identity out of the public space. The French call it
laГЇcitГ© or secularism but it means much more than just the separation of church and state. It
guarantees the freedom from religionin the public domain so that no one is oppressed by religion
and everyone is seen equally. Muslims, living in France, are being treated unequally by the state
while they support the catholic majority. This seems hypocritical coming from a nation that prides
itself on being secular. The hypocrisy of Frances outdated laws of secularism and deep catholic
roots cause discrimination and oppression of Muslim identity while aiding catholic organizations.
Frances transition from a monarchical society with close relations to the catholic church into a
secular republic dates to the French revolution in 1789. After a dispute between the Vatican and the
French state, they came to an agreement known as the concordat. This arrangement would keep the
church under state tutelage but leave it alone if they kept to themselves. It wasn t until 1905 when
the law of separation was ratified that the church and state would be completely independent.
LaГЇcitГ© at its core is considered the belief that religion is a private matter . In this manner, the
republic would adopt laГЇcitГ© as its national religion and no longer recognize, remunerate, or
subsidize any other religion. However,

Why Is Scarlet Fever Important In Frankenstein
In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, scarlet fever played a role in the plot line. Scarlet
fever made an impact during the time Mary Shelley wrote the book. Scarlet fever is a disease
which causes a sore throat and a rash on skin. It is most common in children. It lead to the loss
of many due to the lack of medicine treatments. People would stay away from those contaminated
with the disease as it was contagious and hard to cure. The threat of Scarlet Fever has changed
because of the advancement of medicine. Victor s family members were contaminated with the
disease. Elizabeth had scarlet fever, but she recovered from it as it was a moderate case. Their
mom wanted to see her but everyone refused her visitation. She obeyed that demand until she found
out that Elizabeth was in the process of recovering. Therefore, she visited her when there was still a
chance for the disease to pass on. Due to this, their mother got infected with the disease which
ultimately lead her to death.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Encyclopedia, any action of spreading their germs causes others to have a chance to
catch the disease. Therefore, sneezing, coughing, and having contact with that person, can cause
others to be infected. Moreover, the symptoms of Scarlet Fever are a fever, tiredness, sore throat,
and a rash that covers most of the body. The fever goes away later while restoration is done in a
matter of two weeks. Interestingly, once someone has the disease, their immune system adapts to it.
Therefore, they are unable to catch Scarlet Fever again. According to Mayoclinic, children from 5

Career Style Of Pitching Style
In pitching, you have two major styles; windmill and slingshot. Both styles have good attributes to
them. They both use the same concepts such as leap and drag (Werner, 88) the main difference is
in the slingshot method your arm doesn t go all the way around like in the windmill method.
Although both ways are effective pitching styles, the windmill method has been shown in multiple
studies to be the more effective way (Tocco, 105). Even though the windmill is the more efficient
form, there are some people who are betterat the slingshot and just prefer that style over the other.
The slingshot pitching style is the older of the two pitching methods, but this technique has been
basically shut out by the newer windmill style. The slingshot was the first major style of
pitching used for softball. This technique does not use a lot of arm movement and depends more
on your legs and lower body. This pitching style is more focused on drag and leg power (Leland)
so for this style your legs must be the most powerful thing. Your arm movement is just straight
back and then you sling your arm forward to make the ball fly. You have to use a lot of force
behind the ball because you are not using as much arm power, so you have to make up the power
with your legs. With the slingshot, you can not throw as many spin pitches (Leland), but this
method does throw off the batter because the style is so different. The batters are not used to the
ball being released so quickly, so their reaction

Ethics And Ethics Of Ethics
With the Repo 105 manipulation, assets and liabilities were reduced at the reporting date, and the
leverage ratio was decreased as well because the numerator and the denominator of that ratio are
reduced by the same amount. As a result, Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy and former
officials of Lehman brothers have agreed to pay $90 million to settle a shareholder lawsuit.
We can refer from the two previous examples that ethics education is crucial. The main reason for
ethics education is that ethics courses and training would help students, who are going to
become future managers and business decision makers, to resolve such ethical dilemmas
correctly. As we know that most dilemmas often have multiple decision criteria. Business ethics
classes would help students to realize which decision criteria lead to a preference for a given
decision alternative. Besides helping future business players, another important reason for
education of ethics is the fact that it is inescapable. Without the existence and appreciation of
ethics and the codes of conduct, the world will be at lost and have no ways of assessing what is
desirable and adds to the public wellness, and what is sabotaging the social standards. Having the
code of ethics is not merely a way to secure survivability of the company, but also helps the
company to make the right decisions in dilemmas and expressing commitments to the society.
Similar to the discussions of social responsibilities that companies should hold

The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow Analysis
Like all great works of literature, critics interpret stories in multiple ways. The Legend of Sleepy
Hollow by Washington Irving is no exception. His story of Ichabod Crane and the Headless
Horseman is an exciting read, but when further analyzed, one finds that many interpretations exist.
Ranging from feminist perspectives to economic perspectives, this story appears to have a much
deeper meaning than many readers initially give the story. To truly understand the many
interpretations of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, one must understand the historical and cultural
context of the story.
Irving, a Romantic author, wrote many stories besides The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. These
tales include Rip Van Winkle and The Devil and Tom Walker. Like these stories, The Legend of
Sleepy Hollow takes place in early post colonial America. This aspect greatly influences the
historical and cultural backgrounds for the story. The historical backgrounds of this tale comes
from post Revolutionary war America. Because of this, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow reflects this
new American society described in the physical setting of the story. The cultural background of the
story is explained through the background actions of the characters. For example, Ichabod Crane
stays with the parents of his students, and Ichabod Crane and Brom Bones fight for the hand of
Katrina Van Tassel. These are just two examples of American culture shown in the story.
Because this story can be interpreted in many

LGBT I P
Tongues Untied Tongues Untied is about intersectionality, specifically between being black and
being a gay man. It is a semi documentary based on the filmmaker, Marlon Rigg s, life. Tongues
Untied only runs about an hour long, and completely devoid of plot, but still has a very
powerful message. Much of Tongues Untied s message comes from the cinematography, close
up on lips as a black pastor preaches about the sin of homosexuality , shots look like double
vision or cross eyed while the narrator discusses being a double minority. The sound design also
plays into the meaning very heavily, there is a small tapping noise that grows louder and louder

With this approach, it shows a personal account and fiction in an attempt to show the level of
detail of black gay identity. The silence referred to throughout the film is that of black gay men,
who are unable to express themselves because of the unfair, pre decided bad opinions of white and
black heterosexual communities , as well as the white gay community of people/all good people in
the world.
The story structure of Tongues Untied is both interesting and unusual. Besides including fact filled
story or film about an event or person video detailing North American black gay culture, Riggs
also tells of his own experiences as a gay man. These include the understanding/ achieving a goal of
his sexual identity and of successfully dealing with the deaths of many of his friends to AIDS.
Other elements within the film include video of the Civil Rights Movement and clips of Eddie
Murphy performing an extremely afraid of homosexuality stand up something commonly

must first, show up a few minutes early. In these ten minutes or so, they should unlock their
toolbox, clean their work bay and tools, and check their emails if necessary. Then they should open
up the shop, and work on any unfinished projects. Throughout the day, more work may show up.
Depending on the severity of the work, it should either be set aside until there is time or should be
done immediately to get the vehicle back to the customer. Another job of a technician is to explain

Ets1 And ETS2
In HDAC2 ETS1 and ETS2 adopted similar modes of binding (Figs 7a, 7c). Both were observed to
have ПЂ ПЂ stacking interactions with Phe 155 and Phe 210 in the core of the gorge. The
imidazole ring of ETS1 and the oxazole ring of ETS2 was shown to be a parallel displaced ПЂ ПЂ
stacking interaction with Phe 155. ETS1 also has a parallel displaced ПЂ ПЂ stacking interaction
with Phe 210, while ETS2 was shown to adopt a face to face ПЂ ПЂ stacking interaction with this
residue instead. The indole rings of ETS1 and ETS2 participate in edge to edge stacking
interactions with Phe 155 and His 33. In addition to bidentate metal ion coordination the

It is notable that HDAC8 does not have an aromatic hydrophobic pocket corresponding to the
one created by His 33 and Phe 155. In HDAC2 this region forms a nice groove, which is not
observed in HDAC8, for the indole ring sit in. In HDAC8 the Lys 33 residue, while it has a
hydrophobic chain, does not participate in staking interactions. The imidazole ring now adopts a T
shaped ПЂ ПЂ stacking interaction between Phe 152 and Phe 208, whereas it was parallel
displaced in HDAC2. This less favored double T shaped interaction prevents the formation of a
hydrogen bond in the core of HDAC8. ETS2 in HDAC8 also shows the shift of the indole ring to
the right side of the gorge to now hydrogen bond with Gly 184, and the oxazole ring also adopts
more of a T shaped orientation with the Phe 208 in HDAC8 compared to a parallel ПЂ ПЂ
orientation. The oxazole ring is also less of an equal distance between the two Phe rings, favoring
an interaction with Phe 208 over an interaction with Phe 152. Again the wider gorge size of
HDAC8 decreases binding affinity of these compounds.
ETS1 and ETS2 ranked 1st and 2nd as HDAC2 inhibitors, producing binding scores of 10.0937
and 9.9520, respectively. The ability of ETS1 and ETS2 to bind to HDAC8 is, however,
significantly lower for both compounds, ranking 9th and 8th, (6.7458 and 6.9155 respectively).

The Global Issue Of Overpopulation
Since the early twentieth century, the world s population has exploded copiously.. This
phenomenon known as overpopulation has been called a threat to humanity, and people all across
the world are affected by it. There is inadequate housing to shelter the population, not enough
resources for the population to continually utilize, pollution, habitat loss, and much more.
Politicians and scientists alike are striving to solve this problem.: In evaluating the global issue of
overpopulation, one can determine the solution to it through limiting children by creating a law,
implementing the policy, and appropriately enforcing the limit. To begin to steady out the

There should be worldwide taxes imposed on items such as diapers and baby wipes in rich
countries, and the money collected from the taxes will be wired to the UN and WHO. Anyway,
there is evidence that a limit like this works. The birth rate in China has fallen since 1979, and the
rate of population growth is now 0.7 per cent. ( Managing Population Change ). That is a great
statistic considering that it was 1.9 percent in 1950. On the other hand, the limit should be set to
two or three for poor, underpopulated countries because decreasing an overpopulated nation s
population would cripple it financially and socially. Creating a childbirth limit similar to that of
China and revising it is the first step to controlling the population. After a plan is engendered, it
must be implemented worldwide. The UN will make it an international law that is imperative and
obligatory to follow, and each nation s government will do their part in imposing it upon their
citizens. The UN will observe each nation s population and then implement a limit that is
reasonable with the population, so that poor, underpopulated countries will not be destroyed, but
one with gargantuan populations will have a logical limit set. Every nation with over two hundred
fifty million people or one hundred fifty million people and an annual population increase of 1.5
percent or more will need to implement a one child policy. Nations with fifty million up to one

The Change Of Movement Patterns Of The Pupils
Conclusion
From these sessions, I can see there are still lots of issues I can work on in the continuing
sessions. To sum up, I will begin with the development and the change of movement patterns of the
pupils. Additionally, the relationships of adults and my expectation of the growing of this group
are also covered. The concept of a group was difficult for the pupils, but we worked hard to
facilitate them. In the beginning, they were separately seeking attention from adults. Andie focused
on personal support, Julia reacted more than reflected, Helen wanted a personal space, and Calvin
may have been thinking about a leader. Their movement qualities were similar to those witnessed
during the observation period. During week three to six, Julia and Helen evolved unfriendly but
close relationship. Julia s strong offense evoked Helen s stronger and indirect movement
responses, because of the anger, upset or fear caused. It was hard for Julia for think about what
she was doing in the session, and she expressed like a Retreatist role (Schmais, 1998:25), whose
over self protection became the target of the anger. This seemed to create Calvin s rivalry with
Julia over managing the group in session eight. His movement qualities became stronger to
accommodate his experience. It seemed lots of anxiety came up in the group in a way of fight or
flight. (Schmais, 1998:28) In building up their relationships, I needed to help them develop a more

Chemotherapy Research Papers
Researchers at the Purdue University developed a new technology that simulates chemical process
and reaction of tumors with chemotherapy drugs. It is a possible tool for screening anticancer
drugs before approving them for treatment.
There are many different types of chemotherapy drugs, so clinicians may be able to narrow down
which ones are likely to be more effective than others. Successful drug delivery and overcoming
drug resistance are the primary clinical challenges for management and treatment of cancer. To
address this problem, we developed the tumor microenvironment on chip (T MOC), said Bumsoo
Han, a professor of mechanical and biomedical engineering at Purdue University.

The study will continue to test other types of cancers, such as pancreatic and prostate cancers.
This confirms T MOC s predictive ability for in vivo drug response. This initial characterization of
T MOC indicates its transformative potential for testing drug effectiveness, said Han.
Drug Resistance Evolution of Cancer Cells
Cancer cells developed methods to avoid anticancer drugs from killing them. These methods can
stop medicinal effects of chemotherapy and even cytotoxic agents that kill any cells
indiscriminately. Bill Murray, a retired major league baseball administrator, diagnosed with
melanoma endured three separated courses of a new class of immunotherapy to treat the disease.
In 2011, Murray was first given a peptide based vaccine and a monoclonal antibody called
nivolumab. Nivolumab targets the programmed cell death protein 1 displayed on the surface of
T cells, a type of lymphocyte white blood cell. PD 1 works as a signal receptor on activated T cells
that packs down T cell activity after detecting its counterpart, PD L1 on the surface of tumor cells.
The nivolumab was intended to block PD L1 and allow Murray s T cells to fight cancer.
Unfortunately, the treatment did not work and Murray had to be given a new antibody called
ipilimumab. It binds cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated protein 4 expressed by PD 1 T cells. The
ipilimumab allowed Murray s immune system via T cell offensive to combat cancer.
But five years later,

Discrimination and Misrepresentation of Minority Races in Film
Racists often believe that alternative races are inferior. Stuart Hall, an expert in the field of
cultural studies who is also interested in media studies, believes that it is difficult to completely
eliminate race as a floating signifier because it is impossible to remove the obvious physical
differences of distinct races. These distinctions are made increasingly aware by filmmakers to their
audiences in such films as West Side Story, Birth of a Nation, Gringo in Mananaland, and the Four

Greaser was used to refer to Mexicans who supposedly had used grease to comb their hair, but
soon it spread to incorporate other Hispanic groups as well. Racial epithets were commonly used
and construed into the plots of films, and minority racial groups tended to be increase the profit in
film sales (Keller 13). These epithets were reinforced to define a characteristic style of stereotyping
by playing on the attitudes that predominated among Anglo filmmakers and their white audiences
(Keller 14).
Two particular silent films both exemplify how stereotypes have played on racist Anglo
American attitudes: the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and Birth of a Nation. The Four
Horsemen of the Apocalypse, shows how minority groups are kept as subjects to Anglos. For
example, several camera shots showed how this was thought to be true. A monkey, to which
African Americans have been commonly referred then and even now, is shown climbing a stick,
and a white bird is perched at the peak of the stick, pecking at the monkey to keep him from
climbing up the stick. This scene has several intentions. For one, it depicts how Anglo Americans
do not and will not accept the coming up of racial inferiors , or rather they will do everything in
their power to keep blacks down or keep them from climbing the social ladder to equality. As Stuart

Most people you know watch commercials. They re everywhere on television, billboards, and
even phone but why do we watch them? They grasp our attention to something we could
possibly want. Rhetorical devices are often found in advertisements. By reading this paper
shows the effectiveness found in advertisements. The Nature Valley three Generations
Commercials gives an insight on how persuasive and effective on promising a happiness by
buying nature valley bars. The middle of the commercial shows the effectiveness of the use of
pathos because it makes us feel sympathetic towards the kids, and we feel that they are not
experiencing life to the fullest. During the middle of the ad, the kids start to answer the question
what did you like to do for fun ? This prompts us to think of what we liked to do for fun as a kid.
These kids answered playing video games, watching videos, emailing and texting. Their... Show

When you think of home setting you think of the nice cozy living room, upstairs, downstairs and
dining room table, in the nature valley ad they used the setting of the kitchen to catch our attention.
The kitchen caught our attention because you saw on the kitchen table pictures of the happy
families. This made us think about our families and our setting in our home. The emotions felt in
this setting was a blissful feeling. A feeling most people get when they think of their families.
Towards the end of the ad, the two generations body language changes, their body language
changed from laughing among themselves to tears thinking about the kid s answers to the
question. After seeing the two generations body changed as a viewer, we almost feel gloomy
because we wondered how our parents felt when raising us. Maybe they thought they were missing
out on what s out there? This question leaves an uneasy feeling in your system because the ad use

Why I Want To Become A Nail Technician
Growing up in a single parent household can be tough in terms of pleasing your parent. You re
not able to go and get a second opinion from another parent when making decisions. If he/she
doesn t agree with your decision it leaves a bad taste in your mouth because you don t want to
disappoint him/her. My mother probably expected me to graduate college with my associate s
degree and land a job at IBM. Introducing the idea of me becoming a nail technician to her was
nerve wrecking. I expected rejection followed by a lecture about what would be a better career
path for me. Surprisingly after explaining to her why I chose the beauty industry, my long term
goals, and how nail carewill pay a role in my future career she was just as excited as I... Show more

Kalea from k_bossnails, who is not only a celebrity nail stylist but an instructor, changed my
way of thinking. Since I followed her on Instagram and snapchat I ve been inspired and it
motivated me to start my own career. It s amazing how much expression can be put into a full
set of nails. Nails have become a part of a female s wardrobe. Everywhere I go someone
compliments my nails and my nail selfies always receive a lot of likes. I m on social media every
day and I keep up with the latest trends. It s only right that I join the beauty industry.
Not only am I surrounded by beauticians but a few of them are successful salon owners. I too
hope to own a nail studio. I didn t just choose to be a part of this industry but I set goals for
myself once I receive my license. Before I become a salon owner I have to prepare myself for
the responsibility that comes with it. One of my friends offered me a position at her salon after
I obtain my certificate. This is the perfect opportunity because I ll be able to see firsthand the
responsibilities of being an owner, and I will still get the experience of paying booth rent. I notice
that the nail salons in my area rarely do promotions. At my friend s salon not only do the
beauticians have promotions, but they offer packages for the clients. We talked about adding
manicures to the packages which could build my clientele. I d be able to attract girls in high school

Religion Is Not Dogma, By Paul Tillich
As Tillich clams Being religious means asking passionately the question of the meaning of our
existence and being willing to receive answers, even if the answers hurt . The twentieth century
philosopher and theologian, Paul Tillich argues that religion differentiates from the concept of what
theologians and scientist have asserting as true. He says religion gives a key to ultimate concern
which contributes to holy. However, Rudolph Otto, another German theologians and philosopher of
his time, has a different statement about the religion and God. He sees religion as a rational essence.
Yet both agree that religion is not dogma, on the other hand, is rational, their concept of
understanding varies from each other. Tillich s one of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Otto finds it, a strong traditional form of theology in Christianity which is not only possesses such
conceptions but possesses them in unique clarity and abundance . The nature of the divine cannot
be contained in rational attributions only and they also in fact imply a non rational or supra
rational . For example, God is non traditional which is conceptualized in many tradition including
Protestant. For him, the root of all religious experiences and believes are coming from the unique
state of mind which is called numinous . Numinous, which is characterized as holy according to
him, is defined by moral and rational aspects. It goes beyond moral and conceptual understanding.
It cannot be described by words because it is beyond the words that one can only feel it in the
mind as accompanying emotions . Therefore, Otto analysis about numinous is based on feelings
which is responsible to the feeling of God, the holy.
Comprehension of numinous compactly related to creature feeling . He claims that one experiences
the numinous as a being dependent on something that is objective. This external feeling is greater
and more powerful than themselves which can crush them in instant. He describes feeling of
dependence by giving an example of Abraham (Genesis xviii. 27), which is yet at the same time far
more than, and something

Essay On Eco Friendly Cars
Eco Friendly/Green Technology:
Consumers are becoming more interested in environmentally products and practices due to global
warming and other environmental hazards.
Today s electric vehicles offer several advantages over gas powered cars. Some of these advantages
include, better gas mileage, less dependance on foreign oil, reduced exhaust emissions, and saves
customers money.
One of the main benefits of eco friendly cars is the improved gas mileage. Improved gas mileage
not only means not having to fill up as often, but it means that drivers can travel farther distances
on a single tank of fuel (gengreen.org, 2013).
Additionally, when eco friendly cars require much less fuel to power them across equal distances,

Computer Science And Medicine Or Art Science
The STEM related fields have always tended to be predominantly male; engineering and my major
of interest computer science are composed mainly of male students. These fields have just recently
started seeing more and more women pursuing them. Computer Science is an amazing field and
offers a variety of opportunities in terms of how it can be applied; it can be a combination of
computerscience and another field computer scienceand medicine or art/design. There are endless
possibilities as to what future technology can be developed and what new ideas can be created
because of engineers, but if the field remains mostly comprised of men then we re missing out on
the many ideas that the female side and perspective may have to offer.
Learning about Corrinne Yu was enlightening because not only is she an engineer but she s one
of the best in her field, whether it be through gaming, physics, or mechanics. It s refreshing to
hear about a woman changing the standards so drastically in a male oriented industry like that of
gaming because from my experiences girls who play video games are considered doing it for
attention or the male approval rather than the idea that we generally enjoy just playing the game.
Knowing that some of the designs that transformed the way gaming is now ran was due to her
incredible ability, gave me a lot of hope and ambition to strive to be able to do half of what she was
capable of. While doing my research on her, I knew when I checked the comments on

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Eclectic Theory
Abstract This article is a short overview of the Eclectic theory or ideology of teaching English. A
discovery of where the origins of the philosophy were born, and why it evolved and stayed alive in
many fields of study to this day.. While many old school linguists see it as un principled and vague
without any structure, is does have strong concepts and principles about language acquisitionand
learning environments, choices of activities and reasons for these varieties, A look at what
prominent linguists say about the advantages and the disadvantages of this theory.
Eclectic Theory Makes Sense
Over the last hundred years or more, numerous second language methods and ... Show more content

Then there are standards of achievement which make it inconceivable that any single method
could achieve optimum success in all learning environments. Alan Maley (1983) said: Teachers
need to offer a variety of activities, techniques, and tasks in teaching to give equal opportunities to
students with different styles of learning so all students progress. Girard, (1972) said: Rather than
fish in one linguistic stream, we should cast our pedagogical net in all waters that might bring us
in a profitable catch (Dillon, J. M., and A. A. Long, 2004). It is a whole integrated approach, for
example, a listening activity with coordinated speaking or singing and supplementary features like
pronunciation and form of the language. In this regard Canale and Swain rightly said about the four
dimensions of communicative competence, grammar competence, sociolinguistic competence,
discourse competence, and strategic competence (Richard, 1986, p.71). It is hard to sum up
Eclectic theory in a few sentences. It is not a scientific drill or methodology nor it a teaching tool
or a learning method for the learners. The causes for change in language teaching, and in new
language teaching methods, lie, in this view, in the main with social, political or philosophical
factors (Pennycook, A.1989). Critical pedagogy is, wary of progressivism concepts characteristic in
second language teaching. With the inception of applied linguistics, along with the concept of a
scientific kind of language teaching philosophies changed. This was seen prominently in the audio
lingual methodology. Proponents of the audio lingual method (ALM) thought that they could
validate their teaching techniques by claiming that the method was based on scientific

The American Red Cross And Other Organizations At Purnell...
On Monday, October 17th I volunteered to help the American Red Cross and other
organizations at Purnell Swett High School. I was directed to a woman named Priscilla who
oversaw a portion of the outdoor area. Our group was quite diverse. It consisted of young high
school and college students, middle aged parents, some senior citizens, and even a girl who
appeared to be no more than nine years old. Everyone was in good spirits despite the recent
tragedy. Our task seemed to be simple enough, however, we would soon discover it was going to
take more planning. We were assigned to the rear of the school where we would sort through
various bags and boxes of donations. Priscilla directed some of us to carry items to different
rooms based on their size and whether the clothes were designed more males or females, children
or adults. As organized piles began to form, these volunteers posted signs indicating the sizes in
those piles. Priscilla asked a different group to take the flat boxes and fold and tape them to allow
packing of the clothes. Another set of people were instructed to write the names of the recipients on
the boxes. The final group, which later consisted of those who completed their share of the work
already, was assigned to fill the boxes with appropriate items and seal them for delivery. Thanks
to the strong leadership skills of Priscilla and the tireless efforts of the volunteers, we were
successful! She was wise to divide our large group into smaller substations.

Review Of Dennett And Picard
Dennett and Picard
Zifei Li
Dennett suggests writing a program or designing a robot that feels pain to initiate a more detailed
pain experiment. The example of computer simulation of hurricane shows that to conduct a
qualified simulation program requires a definite theory of the conditions and behaviors of the
object to be simulated. First, we write a program according to the theory of pain, input the
descriptions of conditions in text, then the computer types the descriptions of results in text. But
this time it only gives an exterior behavior, so the program is modified to out the interior results
including the reactions of C fiber and heart rate. After some trials, the program s feedback output
has all the descriptions of neurophysiology and mentalistic psychology. Now we have simulated the
external and internal causes and effects of pain, but not the pain itself. Then the program is
rewritten to output There is a pain ... . After this move, the quality of the pain is also added to the
descriptions of results. However, we should aim the program to do, not to output descriptions, i.e.
the challenge is to make a machine that indeed feels the pain rather than describe the feeling of
pain. In this case, the describing system can be the control system for our new robot. Then the
robot is attached to different objects like flywheel and flashing lights that can move and there we
have a robot that technically reacts to a pain stimulation.

Theme Of Motif In The Kite Runner
A widespread mythological and literary motif is the one of two brothers, who hate or are in conflict
with each other and which sometimes even ends in the murder of one of those brothers.
This is the definition found in a German encyclopaedia. Some famous examples one can find in
mythology are:
Osiris and Seth (Egyptian Mythology)
Kabil and Habil (Koran)
Cain and Abel (Bible)
Romulus and Remus (Roman Mythology)
Polyneikes and Eteokles (Greek Mythology)
And many more
So as one can see many people, cultures and religions do use this motif.
One can ask now, aren t brothers supposed to be very close and are they not often also used as a
symbol for humanity and compassion? Yes, this is actually the case and it is normally not that
the brothers had hated each other since birth but the conflict normally start with a rivalry
between the brothers. This rivalry can come from the human rivalry about the love of a god, as
in Cain and Abel , or the fight about the rule of a city, as in Polyneikes and Eteokles , or simply
the rivalry about the love of a father as in The Kite Runner. Shortened it can be said, that it is a
motif of jealousy.
These similarities show that the different religion and people are not actually that different and ...

People At Show Classification
A well known fact about me is that I go to concerts on a semi regular basis. In my experience I ve
encountered countless of different people at shows. There s a few different categories they all
can fall under however: the drunk, the thirteen year old that probably shouldn t be at this show,
the dad who s in the pit with the thirteen year old, the jerk dude that thinks he s hardcore , the
screaming girl, and the guy who s shoving everyone trying to get to the front. The drunk category
at shows can consist of a few different people. Most recently for me, the drunk was a mutual
friend who drove to the show from 6 hours away and decided to drink too much before the show
even started. Once the show started he was the most excited in the crowd,... Show more content on

The human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common causes of sexually transmitted
disease in both men and women around the world, especially in developing countries, where the
occurrence of asymptomatic infection varies from 2 to 44%, depending on the population and
studied region. Most HPV infection is transient and some studies show that the majority of
sexually active individuals are exposed to and acquire infection from this virus at some phase in
their lives. HPV infection is more prevalent in young adults, at the beginning of their sexual
activity, which is more important to detect the virus at the early edge to prevent from the most
damages in the later of life that leads to less impact in the economy in their country and family
too. with a subsequent decline in the prevalence rate with increasing age, likely as a result of
development of an immune response against the virus and reduction of sexual activity. At a
molecular level, HPV positive squamous cell carcinoma less frequently harbours gross
chromosomal deletions than HPV negative squamous cell carcinoma, and has a unique molecular
signature characterized by overexpression of the tumour suppressor protein (p16) and infrequent
TP53 mutations or EGFR amplification, these molecular markers (p16) overexpression is of
particular importance as it has emerged as robust surrogate biomarker of HPV related

  • 2. An Article On The Middle East Nowadays whether you are reading an article on a news paper or you are watching the news on television you will notice that there is a common topic always covered: issues in the Middle East. This region has an ancient and fascinating history that dates back to archaic times. It has generally been considered a major centre of international trade and cultural development. However in recent times this region has been home to different conflicts that have divided the world to the point that Western countries are now weary and extremely cautious when engaging with this area. Nevertheless when the Middle Eastis analasyed in order to explain the current situation there is a lack of focus on the external factors that have shaped and developed the region to its modern form. In this essay I am going to give a concise description of the region s demography and territory with the intent to define the limits of what is interpreted as Middle East. Successively I will provide a brief summary of the history and evolution of the area from the fall of the Roman Empire to the second half of the twentieth century, highlighting the fundamental events and factors that have signed the constitution of the region as we know it. I am then going to describe the main forms of government that have characterized the generation of the modern states that are part of the contemporary Middle East. Finally I will analyse and focus on the external forces and elements that have shaped and continue to shape ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Glodomir Case Study Intro Karl Idea, Startup, Launch, background on family (mom and Grandfather). The Strategic Perspective: Competitive Challenges and Competitive Advantages of Family Business (BRITTANY) Much like most family businesses, GLORY INDUSTRIES, holds several competitive advantages. The ability for GLORY INDUSTRIES to capitalize on its unique advantages begins with trust. CEO, Myrtha Vilbon, and Commercial Director, Nathalie A. Clodomir are related. Mother, Myrtha Vilbon and daughter, Nathalie A. Clodomir, demonstrate the truest nature of family ownership management interaction. With the trust that comes from being a family, Myrtha Vilbon trusts her daughter Nathalie to make decisions as Commercial Director and to negotiate and secure deals with local wholesalers. This in turn, results in lower administrative costs, and a quicker agility to adjust to changing demands of the market. The lowered costs accrued by the family relationship allows GLORY INDUSTRIES to produce a quality product cheaper than competitors. In lieu, of the lowered cost structure GLORY INDUSTRIES is able to earn a higher profit margin than competing rivals and focus more of its efforts in making products more customer centric. • 4. The Federal Reserve System And Economic Development The Federal Reserve The Federal Reserve System was created by Congress in 1913 and passed the Federal Reserve Act in order to provide for a safer and more flexible banking and monetary system. According to the changing needs of the system, its objectives have been changing throughout the history of the Fed. At first, its original purposes were to give the country an elastic currency, provide facilities for discounting commercial credits, and improve the supervision of the banking system under a decentralized bank. (The Federal Reserve System, 1984, 1). Prior to its establishment (the Fed), the supply of bank credit and money was inelastic, thus resulting in an irregular flow of credit and money, and contributed to unstable economic development. These objectives were aspects economic policies and national monetary. However, through time, stability and growth of the economy, high employment levels, stability in the purchasing power of the dollar, and reasonable balance in transactions with foreign currencies have become to be recognized as primary objectives of the governmental economic policy. The Fed is an independent central bank. Its decisions are not ratified by the president or any other government institutions. However, the Fed has to report to the Congress. The book of the Federal Reserve System (1984, 2) uses the term of independent within the government , since the Fed has to work within the framework of the objectives of economic and financial policy ... • 5. The Role Of The Accounting Profession And The Value Of The... Accountants play an important role in the world of business. The article, The Future of the Accounting Profession and the Value of the CPA. , illustrates the importance of the accounting profession and the challenges that accountants face. With over ten years of experience working in the areas of finance and office management, I have personal experience with various influences in the accounting world that were discussed in the article. This includes topics such as technological advancements, the merits of networking mentorship, the value of obtaining a CPA designation, accountancy education, and work life balance (WLB). The accounting profession continues to evolve alongside social trends and corporate developments, such as corporate social responsibility (CSR) and crowdfunding. In my previous position as Director of Finance Administration at Disability Rights International (DRI), I have traveled to many countries and conducted several international financial trainings and workshops to encourage education, transparency, and self sustainability to local partners and field offices. I have seen first hand how financial reporting and fiduciary responsibility is a powerful tool, which one can wield to impact and empower to promote social change. However the reverse is also true: social changes also affect financial reporting. Insanity Defense Pros And Cons Insane Insanity Plea The option to utilize the insanity defense in court should be supported because it is needed to acquit those individuals who had no control over their actions due to a physical ailment, to put a mentally ill patient in with the general prison population would be unconstitutional, and those who are mentally insane need special services for rehabilitation. The insanity defenseshould be available to those who had no control of their actions due to a physical illness. D wounded a female neighbor friend whilst sleepwalking. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The criminally insane need a special form of rehabilitation and should be granted to right to fight for this sentence. The insanity defense serves a definitive purpose in our legal system dismissing those who should truly be found innocent. The option to utilize the insanity defense in court should not be supported because it is not always effective for those who truly need it, it is a Catch 22 and a mental illness does not dismiss the fact that a crime has taken place. The insanity plea should be abolished because it does not help those who need it, the bar at which you qualify for insanity is near unreachable, which renders the plea useless. Psychiatrists who examined Andrea Yates testified repeatedly she was mentally ill and suffered from severe postpartum depression but that was not enough to brand her legally insane (Seligman). This woman was later retried and did succeed in using the insanity defense. The fact that she was not allowed to use it the first time shows how hard it is to succeed using this defense. The first time she tried to use the defense, she clearly qualified but was dismissed due to other factors; if the plea is not for the insane then who is it for? The insanity plea should be reexamined because it is a Catch 22. • 7. Johannes Vermeer And Albert Bierstadt Two painters in history are known for their abilities to depict scenes in such realistic manners that you would never know they are actually producing paintings. These painters are named Johannes Vermeer and Albert Bierstadt. Both men came from different times and ethnic backgrounds. Dutchman, Johannes Vermeer was born in the year 1632 and passed away in 1675. Over his lifetime Vermeer used a style of paintingthat causing modern day historians and art lovers to struggle to figure out how he painted such realistic scenes that mimicked photographs. His style combined many pictorial depth cues while maintaining a strong sense of realism throughout the relatively few paintings he produced. Next is Prussian artist Albert Bierstadt, who was born in the year 1830 and passed away in 1903. Bierstadt is widely known for his highly realistic paintings of the American West landscape. Combining pictorial depth cues and visual realism were his specialties, while raising a large degree of illusionism in his paintings. In his lifetime Bierstadt produced over 500 paintings, most of which pertained to the places he visited on his journey across the United States. While Bierstadt and Vermeer were two very different men, their works shared common elements. Vermeer s The Music Lesson and The Concert and Bierstadt s Yosemite Valley share many of the same pictorial depth cues, realism, and even a sense of illusionism. In order to analyze how these works of art are alike, three questions must be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. see everyday and presents it in a different light, bringing forward new messages and changing not only the audience but the performer. Used and approached properly, the performing arts can expand the mind, strengthen the body, and fortify the spirit. This can be done regardless of the production or character being portrayed. In this way youth can see what it is to live in the world and not be of it (John 17:14 18). The Theology A foundational part of the theology behind the theater department at Corban University is the belief that we are created in the image of God (Gen 1:26 27). Because of this, we are blessed with many of his characteristics, one of which is creativity (Gen 1). Since we live in a world fallen to sin, we as humans are broken. The brokenness leads to insecurity in our gifts, in our worship and even in our relationships. In participating in a production that reflects the broken nature of humanity and the redemptive power of Christ, students can participate in that creativity and grow in practical understanding of theology (Heb 5:13 14). This approach to a foundation for theater as a ministry is important because it brings us back to the basics of who we are as children of God (John 1:12 13; Phil 2:15). It also reminds us that God is not just within the box of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Renaissance Dance Research Paper In the Renaissance time, there were ways to express yourself such as music, dance, and painting. I chose to write about how people would express themselves using dance. There were many different types of dances as well as a lot of interesting history and interesting meanings behind the way they would dance. There were many kinds of dances. There were also two different categories of dances (Court and Country dances). Court dances were formal dances performed by well trained dancers. Country dances were dances that anyone could participate in. Each individual dance was used for a different occasion. Usually the first dance of the night was the Pavane which was a slow, walking dance and was usually used to show off gowns or clothing. The Saltarello,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The dances from the Renaissance might seem boring to modern day social dancers, however (http://dance.lovetoknow.com). The dance called the Pavane, or the walk, was designed to show off clothing. The steps for this dance were designed to be small and simple (http:/ /dance.lovetoknow.com). The Galliard, Coranto, and Canario were dances that move at a quicker tempo, and results in making dancers perform quicker steps (http://www.streetswing.com). The Basse dance however, was a dance where people would glide slowly and gracefully (http:/ /www.streetswing.com). These dances were an elegant form of exercise and an expected social skill for society s noble set (http://www.streetswing.com). Social dances were performed by an infinite number of people and usually preformed in circles or lines. More complex dances would require a dancing master, or instructor (http://www.streetswing.com). These are some of the intentions behind the dances. This is what I learned about dances in the Renaissance time. I learned that dance has evolved throughout time. Dance is still even important to some cultures today. Dance has become more than just an art, it has become a part of our everyday lives. It s a way to meet people and get to know people. Many of these things I didn t even know, but still found fascinating! I found this stuff very interesting and I hope you did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The Victory Song Of Devorah Essay INTRODUCTION TO THE PROPHETS SEFER SHOFTIM Sefer Shoftim The Victory Song of Devorah by Shani Berg I will be discussing the Victory Song of Devorah in the fifth chapter of Sefer Shoftim. Not at all like Sefer Yehoshua, our book introduces an extremely unsympathetic depiction of the general population of Israel, for it accuses them of inappropriate behavior against G d, and afterward starkly portrays the results of the Divine displeasure which unavoidably follows. Most likely the conditions were troublesome. The moderately short and grisly wars of triumph were long over while the considerable and augmented assignment of settlement still posed a potential threat before the general population, testing their physical strength as well as their good and profound fiber too. Gradually, they cleared the scantily settled slope nation and built up themselves in the more prolific and populated valleys, and wherever they were ceaselessly gone up against with the unpropitious decision of either restricting their Canaanite adversaries with their polytheistic and relativistic ways or else obliging or notwithstanding grasping them. A large portion of the tribes generally picked the last mentioned. By giving reprieve to the Canaanites and to their ethically degenerate courses Israel pursued calamity, annihilation and destruction. In any case, however the general population strayed from God and were rebuffed appropriately, unfailingly they soon shouted out to Him for help from their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Care Delivery Models in Work Place As an emergency nurse, I work in a very fast paced environment with many different groups of health care workers dealing with patients from all age groups and with different health complaints. As we all were witnessed at some points in our career, health care system goes under changes constantly which can be challenging sometimes. Example of that can be the change related to technology system. Technology has brought about changes in the delivery of healthcare, especially in the speed with which information is communicated and stored and in the amount and kind of information that is available for decision making in nursing and administration. (King, 2006, p. 100). In order to be successful during changes, strong management, good communication, and great team work is important. Description of Care Delivery Model The emergency department at Mclaren Greater Lansing Hospital is a level three trauma unit with forty beds which is divided to three different zones. • 15. Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness Illuminates the... Since the introduction of Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness into society, critics have debated over the meaning of the ambiguous title. There are many interpretations of this title, but the general consensus is that in the heart of darkness, you cannot do good: you can only be less evil. The title refers to not only the physical lack of lightin the jungle, but also to the grim consequences of imperialism due to the stygian heart of mankind. The first meaning is that the heart of darkness refers to actual lack of light in the book, the jungle in particular. In the beginning of the novel, Marlow describes that the air was dark above Gravesend (3). This is foreshadowing of the looming darkness Marlow will face ahead. When Charlie reaches the edge of the jungle, he describes it as so dark green to be almost black (11). This refers to the caliginous jungle, but also the corruptive nature of the jungle as seen through the transformation of Kurtz. Another example of physical darkness occurs when darkness encroaches on Marlow and the listeners. Marlow describes it as being so pitch dark that we listeners could barely see each other (95). Marlow observes that the forest draws him in and seems beckon him to explore it. It had a treacherous appeal to the lurking death, to the hidden evil, to the profound darkness of its heart (36). Marlow recognizes the lightlessness, but is still drawn to it. This emphasizes the darkness every man and woman has within them. It is in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. The French Of Religious Identity Essay Have you ever wondered why the French are so private about their religion? It is because the French are required to keep their religious identity out of the public space. The French call it laГЇcitГ© or secularism but it means much more than just the separation of church and state. It guarantees the freedom from religionin the public domain so that no one is oppressed by religion and everyone is seen equally. Muslims, living in France, are being treated unequally by the state while they support the catholic majority. This seems hypocritical coming from a nation that prides itself on being secular. The hypocrisy of Frances outdated laws of secularism and deep catholic roots cause discrimination and oppression of Muslim identity while aiding catholic organizations. Frances transition from a monarchical society with close relations to the catholic church into a secular republic dates to the French revolution in 1789. After a dispute between the Vatican and the French state, they came to an agreement known as the concordat. This arrangement would keep the church under state tutelage but leave it alone if they kept to themselves. It wasn t until 1905 when the law of separation was ratified that the church and state would be completely independent. LaГЇcitГ© at its core is considered the belief that religion is a private matter . In this manner, the republic would adopt laГЇcitГ© as its national religion and no longer recognize, remunerate, or subsidize any other religion. However, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They both use the same concepts such as leap and drag (Werner, 88) the main difference is in the slingshot method your arm doesn t go all the way around like in the windmill method. Although both ways are effective pitching styles, the windmill method has been shown in multiple studies to be the more effective way (Tocco, 105). Even though the windmill is the more efficient form, there are some people who are betterat the slingshot and just prefer that style over the other. The slingshot pitching style is the older of the two pitching methods, but this technique has been basically shut out by the newer windmill style. The slingshot was the first major style of pitching used for softball. This technique does not use a lot of arm movement and depends more on your legs and lower body. This pitching style is more focused on drag and leg power (Leland) so for this style your legs must be the most powerful thing. Your arm movement is just straight back and then you sling your arm forward to make the ball fly. You have to use a lot of force behind the ball because you are not using as much arm power, so you have to make up the power with your legs. With the slingshot, you can not throw as many spin pitches (Leland), but this method does throw off the batter because the style is so different. The batters are not used to the ball being released so quickly, so their reaction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Ethics And Ethics Of Ethics With the Repo 105 manipulation, assets and liabilities were reduced at the reporting date, and the leverage ratio was decreased as well because the numerator and the denominator of that ratio are reduced by the same amount. As a result, Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy and former officials of Lehman brothers have agreed to pay $90 million to settle a shareholder lawsuit. We can refer from the two previous examples that ethics education is crucial. The main reason for ethics education is that ethics courses and training would help students, who are going to become future managers and business decision makers, to resolve such ethical dilemmas correctly. As we know that most dilemmas often have multiple decision criteria. Business ethics classes would help students to realize which decision criteria lead to a preference for a given decision alternative. Besides helping future business players, another important reason for education of ethics is the fact that it is inescapable. Without the existence and appreciation of ethics and the codes of conduct, the world will be at lost and have no ways of assessing what is desirable and adds to the public wellness, and what is sabotaging the social standards. Having the code of ethics is not merely a way to secure survivability of the company, but also helps the company to make the right decisions in dilemmas and expressing commitments to the society. His story of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman is an exciting read, but when further analyzed, one finds that many interpretations exist. Ranging from feminist perspectives to economic perspectives, this story appears to have a much deeper meaning than many readers initially give the story. To truly understand the many interpretations of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, one must understand the historical and cultural context of the story. Irving, a Romantic author, wrote many stories besides The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. These tales include Rip Van Winkle and The Devil and Tom Walker. Like these stories, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow takes place in early post colonial America. This aspect greatly influences the historical and cultural backgrounds for the story. The historical backgrounds of this tale comes from post Revolutionary war America. Because of this, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow reflects this new American society described in the physical setting of the story. The cultural background of the story is explained through the background actions of the characters. For example, Ichabod Crane stays with the parents of his students, and Ichabod Crane and Brom Bones fight for the hand of Katrina Van Tassel. In HDAC2 this region forms a nice groove, which is not observed in HDAC8, for the indole ring sit in. In HDAC8 the Lys 33 residue, while it has a hydrophobic chain, does not participate in staking interactions. The imidazole ring now adopts a T shaped ПЂ ПЂ stacking interaction between Phe 152 and Phe 208, whereas it was parallel displaced in HDAC2. This less favored double T shaped interaction prevents the formation of a hydrogen bond in the core of HDAC8. Their movement qualities were similar to those witnessed during the observation period. During week three to six, Julia and Helen evolved unfriendly but close relationship. Julia s strong offense evoked Helen s stronger and indirect movement responses, because of the anger, upset or fear caused. It was hard for Julia for think about what she was doing in the session, and she expressed like a Retreatist role (Schmais, 1998:25), whose over self protection became the target of the anger. It is a possible tool for screening anticancer drugs before approving them for treatment. There are many different types of chemotherapy drugs, so clinicians may be able to narrow down which ones are likely to be more effective than others. Successful drug delivery and overcoming drug resistance are the primary clinical challenges for management and treatment of cancer. These methods can stop medicinal effects of chemotherapy and even cytotoxic agents that kill any cells indiscriminately. Bill Murray, a retired major league baseball administrator, diagnosed with melanoma endured three separated courses of a new class of immunotherapy to treat the disease. In 2011, Murray was first given a peptide based vaccine and a monoclonal antibody called nivolumab. Nivolumab targets the programmed cell death protein 1 displayed on the surface of T cells, a type of lymphocyte white blood cell. PD 1 works as a signal receptor on activated T cells that packs down T cell activity after detecting its counterpart, PD L1 on the surface of tumor cells. The nivolumab was intended to block PD L1 and allow Murray s T cells to fight cancer. Unfortunately, the treatment did not work and Murray had to be given a new antibody called ipilimumab. It binds cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated protein 4 expressed by PD 1 T cells. The ipilimumab allowed Murray s immune system via T cell offensive to combat cancer. But five years later, ... Stuart Hall, an expert in the field of cultural studies who is also interested in media studies, believes that it is difficult to completely eliminate race as a floating signifier because it is impossible to remove the obvious physical differences of distinct races. • 53. Review Of Dennett And Picard Dennett and Picard Zifei Li Dennett suggests writing a program or designing a robot that feels pain to initiate a more detailed pain experiment. The example of computer simulation of hurricane shows that to conduct a qualified simulation program requires a definite theory of the conditions and behaviors of the object to be simulated. First, we write a program according to the theory of pain, input the descriptions of conditions in text, then the computer types the descriptions of results in text. But this time it only gives an exterior behavior, so the program is modified to out the interior results including the reactions of C fiber and heart rate. After some trials, the program s feedback output has all the descriptions of neurophysiology and mentalistic psychology. Now we have simulated the external and internal causes and effects of pain, but not the pain itself. Then the program is rewritten to output There is a pain ... . After this move, the quality of the pain is also added to the descriptions of results. However, we should aim the program to do, not to output descriptions, i.e. the challenge is to make a machine that indeed feels the pain rather than describe the feeling of pain. In this case, the describing system can be the control system for our new robot. One can ask now, aren t brothers supposed to be very close and are they not often also used as a symbol for humanity and compassion? Yes, this is actually the case and it is normally not that the brothers had hated each other since birth but the conflict normally start with a rivalry between the brothers. This rivalry can come from the human rivalry about the love of a god, as in Cain and Abel , or the fight about the rule of a city, as in Polyneikes and Eteokles , or simply the rivalry about the love of a father as in The Kite Runner. There s a few different categories they all can fall under however: the drunk, the thirteen year old that probably shouldn t be at this show, the dad who s in the pit with the thirteen year old, the jerk dude that thinks he s hardcore , the screaming girl, and the guy who s shoving everyone trying to get to the front. The drunk category at shows can consist of a few different people. Most recently for me, the drunk was a mutual friend who drove to the show from 6 hours away and decided to drink too much before the show even started. Once the show started he was the most excited in the crowd,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She is the one who s been waiting on line since 8am. This girl is also the one at the barricade screaming, Adopt me! Or some other cringe worthy line. She comes in a lot of different forms but you can definitely feel the cringe radiate off of her. She s also the type that gets mad people are pushing her, even though, no one can control the push of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 56. The Localization Of Proteins Inside Cells Introduction Microscopy is the most extensively used imaging technique to discover biological systems, in which immunocytochemistry (ICC), the localization of proteins inside cells, and immunohistochemistry (IHC), which discloses the distribution, profusion, and localization of biomarkers within a tissue, can be observed directly. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) mentions to the process of detecting antigens in cells of a tissue section by exploiting the principle of antibodies binding specifically to antigens in biological tissues With IHC, tissues are removed from the patient either frozen or chemically well preserved and fixed in paraffin. Segments as thin as 4Ојm are sliced from frozen or paraffin embedded tissue and fixed onto slides in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common causes of sexually transmitted disease in both men and women around the world, especially in developing countries, where the occurrence of asymptomatic infection varies from 2 to 44%, depending on the population and studied region. Most HPV infection is transient and some studies show that the majority of sexually active individuals are exposed to and acquire infection from this virus at some phase in their lives. HPV infection is more prevalent in young adults, at the beginning of their sexual activity, which is more important to detect the virus at the early edge to prevent from the most damages in the later of life that leads to less impact in the economy in their country and family too. with a subsequent decline in the prevalence rate with increasing age, likely as a result of development of an immune response against the virus and reduction of sexual activity. At a molecular level, HPV positive squamous cell carcinoma less frequently harbours gross chromosomal deletions than HPV negative squamous cell carcinoma, and has a unique molecular signature characterized by overexpression of the tumour suppressor protein (p16) and infrequent TP53 mutations or EGFR amplification, these molecular markers (p16) overexpression is of particular importance as it has emerged as robust surrogate biomarker of HPV related oropharyngeal squamous cell ...
