Make Indi The Road Ahead For India s Development Saga Or...
Make in India: the road ahead for India s Development Saga or is it just another rhetoric?
Abstract:
Make in India campaign is an initiative that attracts the industrialists to make India a manufacturing
hub that helps to create jobs. India ranks 142nd in the ease of doing business and it is becoming
increasingly difficult for both Indian and foreign businessmen to start a business in India. The
infrastructure in India is not good enough to attract investors. There is a lack of proper connectivity
between the cities in India. The other bottleneck are taxation, Government policies, labor laws, ease of
obtaining licenses and land acquisition. India must also compete with its neighbor China as both the
nations are seen as growing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Historically, India has always been an agricultural nation. The major share of GDP is from this sector
till the early 1950s and 60s. Down the line, its share began to decline and service sector started to
emerge. Today service sector players a prominent role in the economy of India. On the other hand,
Industrial sector has been growing right from the beginning but the growth is minimal when compared
to service sector. The Following graph depicts the percentage share of Individual Sectors in the
country. Figure 1: Shares of Agriculture, Industry and Services in India
As observed clearly from the above graph, the growth of Indian Manufacturing Sector has been
minimal. This can be attributed to the myriad factors that hinder the Indian Industrial sector. On a
closer introspection, there are major reasons in the country which holds back the Indian Economy.
Firstly, India lacks the optimum prerequisite for the growth of Industrial Sector i.e Infrastructure. India
is lagging in terms of infrastructure and more private players and public private partnership should be
encouraged to bring about the change. One such example is Jamshedpur built by TATA. It shows that
the problems are able to overcome with proper policy changes.
Secondly, power poses the next hindrance for the Industrial Sector. The issues related to power should
be resolved as early as possible in the near future. Lack of power is a big hurdle to the running of
industries. Many

Sputnik And The Space Race
On October 4, 1957, the Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union commenced in a
sudden, explosive fashion. The Soviet Union launched Sputnik , humanity s very first artificial
satellite, into outer space. Sputnik, meaning fellow traveler in Russian, is now synonymous with the
Cold War and the Space Race. Sputnik s purpose was twofold the first reason was purely to beat the
U.S. to outer space. However, Sputnik had scientific reasons to be in space as well. The Soviet Union
determined five objectives for Sputnik to accomplish during her time in space: 1. Test the method of
placing an artificial satellite into Earth s orbit, 2. Provide information on the density of the atmosphere
by calculating its lifetime in orbit, 3. Test radio and optical methods of orbital tracking, 4. Determine
the effects of radio wave propagation through the atmosphere, and 5. Check principles of
pressurization used on satellites. When the Soviet Union beat the United States by launching
something into space first, the U.S. reaction was palpable. Public fear and anxiety spread throughout
the nation, along with a sense of nationalism and pride. The United States must answer with a launch,
or face humiliation and defeat.
The United States answered the Soviets during the new year of 1958. The new year saw the launch of
Explorer I, the creation of NASA, and the founding of the top secret project Corona. The launch of the
United States first satellite a mere three months after

This Assessment Is Based On Life After Death From A Roman
This assessment is based on life after death from a Roman Catholicism perspective. The Roman
Catholic Church is based on the teachings and life of Jesus Christ, his spreading of the word and all
the good he did. The belief of life after death is paramount to the church s faith as it based of the
resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Roman Catholic Church s beliefs about life after death can be
outlined in 4 sections: judgement, heaven, hell and purgatory.
The Roman Catholic Church
Judgement
One of the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church is that when we die we are judged by the Lord,
the Lord judges us on how we have lived our lives on earth; good or bad. It teaches us that Judgement
Day is the final and eternal judgment by God of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This belief that the Roman Catholics have occurs on the day they call Judgement Day which is when
we die.
Heaven
The Roman Catholic Church teaches that Heaven is considered a state, a condition of existence, rather
than a particular place somewhere in the cosmos. Pope John Paul II declared: The heaven or happiness
in which we will find ourselves is neither an abstraction nor a physical place in the clouds, but a
living, personal relationship with the Holy Trinity. It is our meeting with the Father which takes place
in the risen Christ through the communion of the Holy Spirit. Christians who die not purified must
pass through a state of purification before entering into heaven.
This belief and teaching of Heaven is shown in the Roman Catholic Catechism #1023 Those who die
in God s grace and friendship and are perfectly purified live forever with Christ. They are like God for
ever, for they see him as he is, face to face: This adds onto the idea that those who enter heaven and
die for God are perfectly purified. It enforces the idea that you must be pure before you can enter.
This belief is further followed up in the sacred texts and scriptures of Roman Catholicism in Matthew
18:3. Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom
of heaven This emphasises that to enter the kingdom of heaven you must become like a child, This
supports the idea of being fully purified

The Importance Of Banning Books
Should Schools Be Able To Ban Books? Now somewhere in America, there is a child holding a copy
of Catcher in the Rye and there is a child holding a gun But only one of these things have been banned
by their state government And it s not the one that can rip through flesh It s the one that says f you on
more pages than one Because we must control what the people say, and how they think and if they
want to become the overseer of their own selves, then we ll show them a real one. And somewhere in
America, there s a child sitting at his mother s computer, reading the homepage of the KKK s website,
and that s open to the public but that child will never have read To Kill a Mockingbird because the

best time to challenge young adult issues such as puberty and bullying, if not during young adulthood.
Basically she voicing that we should never silence books that teach our children more about topics
that educate them and help them gain understanding of something they care about. Leigh also added,
If your child s first encounter with a swear word is in an eleventh grade reading assignment, or if their
exposure to violence by the age of, say, ten is limited solely to The Hunger Games, I hereby accuse
you of invoking supernatural parenting powers. In making this comment Leigh s point is that in a
world filled with media there is little to chance your child doesn t know what violence is or the basis
of a controversial topic such as drug use. Maybe your child doesn t know much about these topics but
knowledge is our greatest weapon and without it your child could stumble into a bad situation with no
defenses. Leigh finally stated in her conclusion, The Feminine Mystique was the spark that ignited
second wave feminism, and The Jungle prompted the passage of the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906.
The founding of evolutionary biology in Darwin s On the Origin of Species continues to impact
scientific theory across the globe, and the African American Civil Rights Movement can find roots in

Social Contract Theory On The Origin Of State
SOCIAL CONTRACT THEORY
1. INTRODUCTION:
The social contract theory is one of the oldest theories on the origin of state. This theory came into
existence as a reaction against the divine origin theory. The term social is something which is
connected with the society, while contract means an agreement between two or more people. Thus a
term of political theory, social contract implies an agreement that makes society possible .this theory
holds that the state is the voluntary and deliberate agreement on the part of the people those who
emerged from the state of nature, in order to form a state based on a contract between the people and
the sovereign and is not made by the god and thus implies that the state is a man`s deliberate creation
to serve his needs. The core idea behind this theory is an assumption that there was a period in human
history, when there was no state at all and no political law existed. The idea that the power to the ruler
is given based on some kind of agreement between him and his subjects is quite old. The social
contract theory envisages a state of nature where there were no organised government and rulers.
There were no man made laws and no authority to govern the people .the state of nature was
prepolitical the idea of social contract divides the state into two phases, i.e. one is the state of nature
which was the life of the people before the state came into existence and second is the creation of the
state as a result of the contract entered

Color In Pleasantville
Color in Pleasantville is something totally unheard of until one day when David and Jennifer are sent
there through their television. In Pleasantville, everything is in black and white and nothing ever
changes. It is always bright sunny skies with a high of seventy two and low of seventy two degrees.
Everyday is exactly the same and everything is perfect in their eyes. There is never any fighting in this
town and the only thing the fire department ever does is save cats from trees. The wives do everything
for their husbands, like doing all the cooking and cleaning. The children always obey their parents and
never fight with their siblings. All the men go to work at exactly the same time everyday and expect
dinner on their tables as soon as they get home. At the town s high school, the basketball team has
never missed a single basket in a game and they have never lost a game. Every single thing in
Pleasantville is perfect without a single complaint. One day, twins David and Jennifer are sent into
Pleasantville by a crazy old man and almost instantly things start to change. As soon as they get to
school, Jennifer asks the teacher what is outside of Pleasantville and everyone looked back at her like
she was absolutely insane. As the day progressed, David was trying to make everything stick to the ...

What Was The Impact Of The Black Panther Party
Nick Smith
J. Buergel
Civil Rights
5/11/16
The impact of The Black Panther Party We knew, as a revolutionary vanguard, repression would be
the reaction of our oppressors, but we recognized that the task of the revolutionist is difficult and his
life is short. We were prepared then, as we are now, to give our all in the interest of oppressed people
(Baggins). Radical and provocative, the 60 s was an era of complete political and social upheaval.
Although the Civil Rights Act of 1964 had banned the discrimination of people based on race, color,
religion, sex, or national origin, the execution of this act were initially proven weak. Unlike other
national organizations or campaigns against the U.S. government, the Black Panther Party for Self
Defense remains the only organization to take a militant stance, frequently seen campaigning armed
and proudly wielding weapons. Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale, the founders of the Black Panthers,
believed that the peaceful and non violent campaign of Martin Luther King had failed, and had very
little faith in the implementation of the traditional civil rights movement. Newton casually addresses
his violent conducts, stating, And people say, well Huey you re so violent. Why are you so violent
Huey? ...And I say, well hey, existence is violent; I exist, therefore I am violent in that way (PBS).
Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale established the Black Panther Party for Self Defense in Oakland
California, during October of 1966.

Essay about Fine Quality Baroque Music in the Era of...
Baroque music is the western music art style that was composed in the era of Renaissance, that is,
between 1600 and 1750. Music at any given period reflects tendencies, impulses and influences that
are found in art of other kinds of the same period. Therefore the name baroque also applied to the
architecture, literature and art in the same period. Baroque has in the past and to some degree in the
present had the implications of abnormality, grotesqueness and absurdity. But in its applications to
music in the Renaissance period the term baroque does not have connotations that are pejorative
because much of the music composed in this period is of high and fine quality (Swain, 7).
The instruments that are used for baroque music even now ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The performer however should be guided by some factors that help them know what instrument to use
where and what sound to get from what instrument (Donington, 131).
One, the performer should be able to distinguish indications that are scanty for the instruments that the
notations may be showing. In that all the instruments that the performer is using fit in the kind of that
they are playing. They should also look out for the effects of the musician that may need working on
for the actual performance (Donington, 131).
Two, as much as it is the responsibility of the performer to choose the instruments, looking up for
alternative instruments that are listed is important. That way, if there is an instrument that is missing,
the performer should always be able to get an alternative. This also suitable when the there are many
instruments needed, the alternative instruments can be used interchangeably (Donington, 131).
Three, the notion that instruments that are suitable are acceptable may not always work. A performer
should understand that every instrument is made for a specific use and should be the only use it must
be put to. That is, it would be impossible to use an instrument and try to make it sound in a particular
way. The distinctions were made in the baroque era as much as they do now (Donington, 131). Every
instrument in baroque music should be used to what it really is designed to, this is to make sure that

The Other Wes Moore depicts how lives can be changed through choices and circumstances. The
author believes that the difference between the two Wes Moores was because of their environment, not
because they did not have the same abilities or a difference in characters. Both Weses had the abilities
to be successful. Wes was a high ranking cadet who had more than eight hundred cadets under his
command. The other Wes ran a successful drug operation. Even if this Wes was running an illegal
business, both men were leaders. But they also had very similar environments: Single mother homes,

The author did not have family and friends that were into drugs. Ability had nothing to do with their
fates, even the most unskilled person can become successful, all one needs is the right support and
right mindset. One has to use their ability in the way that they think is the best, and the way they come
about that best way has a lot to do with the expectations from the people around them, and of
themselves. Wes s mother could have not sent her children to private school. Wes could have gone to
public school and his story could have been the same as the other Wes s. It is unfortunate but money

NAPOLEON S INFLUENCE ON MODERN WESTERN MILITARY ARMIES
History 100, Staff Group A, CGSC Class 14 001

1
Throughout history, military leaders have immortalized their legacies by vanquishing their enemies in
the battlefield against overwhelming odds. Soldiers and historians have revered their accomplishments
by studying their mastery in the art of warfare with the hopes mimicking their accomplishments. Of
them all, Napoleon Bonaparte is considered the best military leader in the history of the Western
World and has been the most influential with the development of modern day Western armies.
According to Knox, military revolutions are changes in the nature and purpose of war itself. 1

the control of constantly larger and more widely dispersed forces. 5 According to Lynn, by
subdividing his army into corps, Napoleon enhanced command and control. It improved logistics,
since several corps operating along separate lines of advance could supply themselves more easily
than could a single large army operating along a single route. 6 In addition to the forming of corps and
divisions, Napoleon created brigade and army levels of commands. This unique military
organizational structure allowed him to effectively move his large armies and outmaneuver his
enemies.
Like the French, the U.S. Army s military organizational structure consists of armies, corps, divisions,
brigades, and battalions. The only exception is the regional commands that it uses. Each command
level organization consists of a robust staff that assists commanders with developing plans and
executing orders. This organizational structure provides an efficient method of commanding and
controlling from the lowest to the highest level of commands.
The transformation of the French military organizational structure provided better command and
control for large armies. However, its use of combined arms allowed the French to annihilate their
enemies in the battlefield. The French had pioneered the use of combat division, combining

Seeing the Liberation of the Peon by Diego Rivera Essay
Brianna Green Professor Tim Cruise Introduction to Art 15 April 2014 Seeing The Liberation of Peon
by Diego Rivera The Liberation of Peon, by artist Diego Rivera is portrayed through a Fresco media
with dimensions of 73 x 94 ¼ . It was painted in 1931 and is on display in the Philadelphia Museum of
Art. Looking at this artwork brings a mood of sadness. Five men, four horses, burning villages, and
sandy hills occupy the scene. The focal point of the painting appears to be a slave being cut down and
freed form a wooden post. The directions of the staring men s eyes all point me to the direction of the
slave being freed. Looking at this artwork I feel that even though the scene seems hostile and

It is suggested through the use of curved lines and light. 4. Space Perspective is demonstrated in many
ways. This artwork takes up almost the whole canvas. The horses on the edge look like they were
maybe even squeezed in. All of the characters in this artwork look to be congregated to the middle of
the painting, besides the villages in the distance. Linear perspective is used in the placement of the
villages in the background and in all the men and horses, which are grouped in the middle of the
screen. Looking at the features in the painting I notice the use of overlapping and vertical placement,
which both imply depth. The horses overlap each other as well as the gentlemen and other elements of
the painting. The brown horse s head overlaps the black one hiding its mouth. The villages and hills in
the background appear to be very far away (diminishing size); they look smaller and distant from the
rest of the main aspects of the painting. 5. Time and Motion The element of time is somewhat
apparent in which the painting depicts events that happened during the daytime because of the lighting
and brightness used in the painting. The red and black colors incorporated in the smoke and fire from
the villages implement a sense of time, because although there is smoke and fire the buildings are still
in solid form, not destroyed, symbolizing that the fire may not have been burning for very long. When
dealing with the element of motion I automatically begin to think

A Twisted Hero Definition
A twisted hero is someone who demonstrates great leadership skills, manipulation tactics, and can lead
a group of people to success, but does it in a warped or unethical manner. This is because someone
who is twisted is, by definition, warped or has an unhealthy way of thinking. However, a hero is
defined as a person who is admired or idealized for their courage, noble qualities, and outstanding
achievements. They are perceived as mighty protectors and great leaders who can do amazing acts.
They can bring success and wealth to people, and lead them towards prosperity. When these terms,
twisted and hero, are combined, it gives us the base definition of a twisted hero. There are two
categories that define a hero, which are traditional heroes and twisted heroes. A traditional hero and
twisted hero are seen as the same by some people, but when compared to a traditional hero, a twisted
hero has few similarities and many differences. Most traditional heroes are the good guys; they fight
for and protect what is right. In comparison, a twisted hero fights for what he or she thinks is right,
and disregards the safety or feelings of others. Traditional heroes are also often revered for their
courage, achievements, and noble qualities. They are looked up to by others and can be idolized or
admired by the greater public. In the case of a twisted hero, they are looked up to but not for the same
reasons. Twisted heroes are looked up to out of fear and because their power demands it,

When we think of boxing, we usually think of the gloves, the mouthpiece, the ring. When we think of
past boxers, we can think of boxers like Muhammad Ali or George Foreman. There are present boxers
like Bite Tyson and his colleague Evander Holyears . Boxing has been considered by many as a brutal
sport, a sport for beasts, as many non boxing fans would say. Mike Tyson has given credit to all this
talk by boxing with his mouth and not with his hands. With Mike Tyson s cannibalism and his boxing
license being in jeopardy, his next opponent can be an alligator or a paraná fish. Mike Tyson s style of
boxing can well be described as cannibalistic. Many would say that in his previous life he was a

Tyson is a cannibal or not, but future opponents are sure to keep closer to his hands than his face.
Mike Tyson was about to have his boxing license taken away. My teeth were the ones at fault, he was
heard saying. The judge was going to have to decide if his boxing license was taken away or his teeth.
His lawyers had said that the reason for all this was because of his taste for victory, and that he felt the
knockout punch coming, but that his mouth is always getting him into trouble. The judges could not
have placed him in prison because he would bite his way out and escape. He kept his boxing license
and was fined just a few thousand dollars. With such boxing moves, Mike Tyson can possibly face any
kind of opponent. His opponents can be alligators or even paraná fishes. With those sharp teeth of his,
such creatures will not stand a chance against him. If his boxing career ends at some point, he will not
need to worry; a zoo or a circus will be glad to hire him. His human opponents will be afraid to step
into the ring with Mike. Those who are brave enough, will surely wear some kind of ear guards or
even nose guards. Boxing has always been a sport of

Santa Claus Argumentative Essay
The Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Boogeyman, and Santa Claus, what do all of these have in

Santa Claus expresses the innocence of a child and brings the magic to Christmas. Looking back on

Christmas dresses digging through their stockings. I remember waking up with my cat storm and
opening my presents, but this time not from Santa Claus, or my parents, but from my grandparents.
During the end of 2003, my parents were going through a divorce due to actions of my biological
mother. My grandparents were given custody of my sister and myself. In the year of 2004, I was
hospitalized for my asthma 3 times. Imagine laying in bed weak, so weak you cannot pick up a glass

From the Journal of Sofonisba Anguissola:
June 1, 1581
I have painted many self portraits in my life, but the one that sticks out the most to me is the one in
which I painted myself holding a book. I was born in a time, when women typically were not
encouraged to obtain an education. My family, however, went against the grain, and actively
supported my sisters and I in our education. Even today, as I write this, my society celebrates women
for our virtue and beauty, (Niyazi, 2011) with our sole purpose being solely the ambition to marry and
bear children (Niyazi, 2011). Nowadays, women in Italy are consigned to sit in their palazzos and
pursue needle work (Burke, 1995) when not occupied with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I avoided these female signifiers (Niyazi, 2011) so that the audience would not connect my image with
beauty, which is something that is traditionally connected to women in my society. I created this
image to look masculine in order to show that I am mature, independent, and self possessed (Niyazi,
2011). Even the background behind me has nothing that would detract from this; the background is a
rich green color that only makes my figure stand out to the viewer.
I can only hope that the women that have looked at this portrait of me are inspired to pursue their
goals and dreams, no matter how foolish they may seem to be by society. I have been fortunate
enough to be allowed to break away from my expected norms and go after the arts. I hear that I am the
first known woman artists to achieve international fame, (Clara, 2012) which means that my efforts
and my talents have not gone in vain. It is my humble wish that decades from now, women can look at
this painting and see that their efforts to be more equal to men are worth and so important.
Amongst the paintings that I have created, there are several others that I think are an important
contribution to the study of art. The first one is The Family Group, which I painted in 1558. In this
painting, the central figures are my father, Amilcare, my sister Minerva, and my only brother,
Asrudbale. In the painting, my father s attention is focused on my brother, while my sister stands
behind them. This painting represents

Personal Theories Of Ethnocentrism And Conformity Orientation
Personal theories are individual theories of communication that help people describe and explain a
myriad of circumstances, experiences, and interactions with others. Not everyone s personal theories
are the same, however, each personal theory contains fundamental communicational applications or
concepts; these applications are the backbone of personal theories. Scholarly theories are similar to
personal theories however scholarly theories provide objective explanations on communication My
personal theory on my relationship with my family applies to the concepts of ethnocentrism and
conformity orientation, while my tendency to avoid the term one day, applies to the concepts of self
development and monochronic time.

Approximately two years ago, I realized that one day is a very arbitrary phrase. I was promised that
one day I would reunite with one of my dearest friends, however, as the months passed, I received not
a single word. Months turned into years and to my disappointment, the reunion never happened.
Therefore, one day is synonymous with never. From then and on, I replace one day with the phrase,
one of these days because then it doesn t imply that it is never going to happen; it implies that it will
happen, but not just right now. My personal theory best exemplifies self development which is
essentially another aspect of individual communication. An individual undergoes self development
from his or her earliest of interactions. In this respect, the individual learns from his or her
experiences. My personal theory embodies this principle because from my experience of the term one
day, I have realized how often individuals utilize it in their vernacular and they always never follow
through on their one day promises. Additionally, my personal theory applies to the concept of
monochronic time. When individuals pay attention to and do solely one activity at a time is
monochronic time. I live in monochronic culture and I behave according to monochronic time, and my
interpretation of one day or one of these days, is simply my effort to

Comparing WALL-E And Brave New World
Brave New World, a dystopian novel written by Aldous Huxley, depicts a dystopian world of the
future in which sex, social class, and orthodoxy are focused upon. WALL E, a Disney Pixar film, also
dystopian, epitomizes a prospective world of obesity, emphasizes the consequences of mistreating the
Earth s resources, and displays technological advancements. The two are not to be confused with a
utopian society one in which the future is depicted as quintessential. Dystopian societies similarly
focus on the future, but rather one that depicts a deteriorated planet. Though Brave New World and
WALL E highlight different morals and lessons to be learned for prevention in our current day society,
the two share qualities of hedonism and unlikely futures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both display the ignorance of the people in each society, in that they are not able realize the problems
in their culture and community. Society in Brave New World seems perfect to everyone but John the
Savage. Readers cannot help but agree with John the Savage because of dramatic irony. The reader
knows things that the characters in the story do not. Social classes are implemented, with embryos and
young children undergoing conditioning to fit their selected type. An employee of the factory, Henry
Foster claims that the classes are a benefaction to Society (14), and the rest agree. No one is to go out
of their class and attempt to do anything else; no one is to associate themselves with those of a
different group. Similarly, in WALL E, those who once inhabited Earth now occupy outer space on a
starliner called the Axiom. This is due to the lack of recycling and mass destruction to Earth by
humans. A sense of guilt is not present among the people, and they love living on the Axiom. They all
become extremely obese and rely on technology to do everything for them. Like Brave New World,
humans are engulfed by pleasure and are not concerned with much else. The people of WALL E gorge
on food as if they are machines programmed to do so. Both John the Savage and Wall E are
exceedingly disturbed by the behaviors that are considered the norm in their respective

Abstract
This paper is intended to shine a light onto distribution channels, both direct and indirect, as well as,
provide a better understanding of channel levels. It will also deal with the different channel
organizations, including conventional, horizontal, vertical and multichannel marketing systems.
(Kern R. 2013) These distribution channels and their organizations will help the candy company better
meet the needs of the niche candy market that they intend to target.

Selective distribution, however, should never be abandoned because that is what keeps the price of
their product from falling below a set value.
Channel Organization Distribution channels are organized in several ways: conventional, vertical,
horizontal and multichannel (Kern R. 2013). Some of these organizational methods are more
structured than others. When a distribution channel deals with more than one independent producer,
such as wholesalers and retailers, the channel is known as a conventional distribution channel. (Kern
R. 2013) These channels are not normally known to be strong and typically don t give the customer
the quality of product that they deserve. In a vertical marketing system, the retailers, wholesalers and
producers, join forces to create a unified front, promoting an individual product (Kern R. 2013).
Vertical distribution channels are stronger than the conventional distribution channels because all of
the companies involved carry some of the load of power. (Kern R. 2013) In a horizontal distribution
channel, companies join up and combine all of their finances and resources, in order to take on more
than one company or product (Kern R. 2013). A multichannel distribution channel is where a large
corporation uses two or more marketing channels to better target their desired customer segments

Woodrow Wilson, Premier Clemenceau, Prime Minister Lloyd George and Premier Orlando started
the Versailles Treaty committee. Wilson worked to win the Senates consent of the Treaty of Versailles

The Portuguese empire possessed strong naval power by the 15th century, which enabled the empire
to start looking abroad to expand their influences. By 1415, the Portuguese had begun their oceanic

their markets. As the trade progressed with the Africans, the Portuguese began trading copper, brass,
and other local goods for gold. As a result, the Portuguese began establishing trade post all over
Africa. Additionally, the Portuguese established trade post in the region of Liberia as they looked for
gold to fuel their voyages to the new world. Since the exploration and gold rush by the Portuguese was

Summary Of New Imperialism
Summary of Day 1
In the late 1800 s the U.S. decided they wanted to get rid of isolationist ideas and become a stronger
respected world power. This was referred to as New Imperialism which meant expansion over the sea.
This was good for trade for the US because it gave a new market to sell goods to and it meant new raw
materials would be brought to the US. The US wanted to create a stronger navy and military to help
defend the US right to trade not for war that was the last thing the US wanted. The US made treaties
with politically smaller countries that would be easy to take over. One reason why the US wanted to
expand was because of economics new trade ports and raw materials for manufactured goods and a

President Taft wanted to increase Latin America s industry and increase the trade to better the
economy in Latin America this also increased business in the US. President McKinley supported
expansion by increasing trade he established the open door policy with China to increase trade ports.
President Roosevelt supported imperialism by increasing the size of the Navy to help keep trade ports
safe he also helped built the Panama canal. This helped save time with transporting goods and
military. The Roosevelt Corollary further showed imperialism working as an extension of the Monroe
Doctrine stating that the US can interfere with Latin America s business as needed to keep the
economy stable in the west hemisphere. Both Taft and Roosevelt worked on preventing European
power using debt problems of Latin America to intervene the west hemisphere. President Woodrow
Wilson did not agree with imperialism he believed in the idea of moral diplomacy. He believed
democracy was the only way to keep the nation stable. His ideas of leading as a moral example were
unsuccessful. He relied on the US military for intervention. One example of this was the Mexican
Revolution. This led to a lot of tension between the US and

Essay about Back Bay Battery

Back Bay Battery, Inc.
Overview
The battery industry is enormous, with worldwide revenues of approximately $45 billion. It is highly
fragmented with at least 20 major manufacturers in each technology segment. Because of the wide
range of applications of batteries, companies have tended to specialize in a particular technology or
market application. Disposable batteries, such as the widely available carbon zinc and alkaline cells,
are available in standard sizes such as AA, C, and D, and they are a fast moving consumer good
category with emphasis on manufacturing efficiency and scale, marketing and branding, and
distribution efficiency.

Back Bay Battery, Inc., in 2012
Back Bay Battery is one of over 20 major manufacturers of NiMH batteries. The field is crowded, but
manufacturers have been riding rising a tide of demand from consumers for portable electrically
powered devices.
Though the technology is relatively mature, the company is anticipating continuing strong volume
growth rates, primarily due to rapid consumer adoption. The worldwide market is projected to grow at
9.0%. Pricing pressure is significant, though, as more East Asian competitors continue to drive
commoditization of NiMH cells. Back Bay s sales manager has learned to track the market pricing
closely, as being out of step with the market can cause dramatic market share changes in a relatively
short time.
Li ion batteries have pretty much replaced NiMH in the market for laptop computer batteries.
The first commercial Li ion battery was produced by Sony in 1991. Li ion batteries are favored for
mobile devices because they can store a high density of energy for a given weight. They can be

Audrey Mullender s Rethinking Domestic Violence
A common excuse among men who abuse women is I had no control over myself. In Audrey
Mullender s book Rethinking Domestic Violence: The Social Work and Probation Response 1996, she
states that this and excuses like it have the tendency to defer the responsibility from the abuser to an
obstacle from their past that impacted them negatively (231 32). Mullender is on to something because
within the last decade there has been an increase of domestic violence by known figureheads. These

  • 2. Make Indi The Road Ahead For India s Development Saga Or... Make in India: the road ahead for India s Development Saga or is it just another rhetoric? Abstract: Make in India campaign is an initiative that attracts the industrialists to make India a manufacturing hub that helps to create jobs. India ranks 142nd in the ease of doing business and it is becoming increasingly difficult for both Indian and foreign businessmen to start a business in India. The infrastructure in India is not good enough to attract investors. There is a lack of proper connectivity between the cities in India. The other bottleneck are taxation, Government policies, labor laws, ease of obtaining licenses and land acquisition. India must also compete with its neighbor China as both the nations are seen as growing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Historically, India has always been an agricultural nation. The major share of GDP is from this sector till the early 1950s and 60s. Down the line, its share began to decline and service sector started to emerge. Today service sector players a prominent role in the economy of India. On the other hand, Industrial sector has been growing right from the beginning but the growth is minimal when compared to service sector. The Following graph depicts the percentage share of Individual Sectors in the country. Figure 1: Shares of Agriculture, Industry and Services in India As observed clearly from the above graph, the growth of Indian Manufacturing Sector has been minimal. This can be attributed to the myriad factors that hinder the Indian Industrial sector. On a closer introspection, there are major reasons in the country which holds back the Indian Economy. Firstly, India lacks the optimum prerequisite for the growth of Industrial Sector i.e Infrastructure. India is lagging in terms of infrastructure and more private players and public private partnership should be encouraged to bring about the change. One such example is Jamshedpur built by TATA. It shows that the problems are able to overcome with proper policy changes. Secondly, power poses the next hindrance for the Industrial Sector. The issues related to power should be resolved as early as possible in the near future. Lack of power is a big hurdle to the running of industries. Many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Sputnik And The Space Race On October 4, 1957, the Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union commenced in a sudden, explosive fashion. The Soviet Union launched Sputnik , humanity s very first artificial satellite, into outer space. Sputnik, meaning fellow traveler in Russian, is now synonymous with the Cold War and the Space Race. Sputnik s purpose was twofold the first reason was purely to beat the U.S. to outer space. However, Sputnik had scientific reasons to be in space as well. The Soviet Union determined five objectives for Sputnik to accomplish during her time in space: 1. Test the method of placing an artificial satellite into Earth s orbit, 2. Provide information on the density of the atmosphere by calculating its lifetime in orbit, 3. Test radio and optical methods of orbital tracking, 4. Determine the effects of radio wave propagation through the atmosphere, and 5. Check principles of pressurization used on satellites. When the Soviet Union beat the United States by launching something into space first, the U.S. reaction was palpable. Public fear and anxiety spread throughout the nation, along with a sense of nationalism and pride. The United States must answer with a launch, or face humiliation and defeat. The United States answered the Soviets during the new year of 1958. The new year saw the launch of Explorer I, the creation of NASA, and the founding of the top secret project Corona. The launch of the United States first satellite a mere three months after ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. This Assessment Is Based On Life After Death From A Roman This assessment is based on life after death from a Roman Catholicism perspective. The Roman Catholic Church is based on the teachings and life of Jesus Christ, his spreading of the word and all the good he did. The belief of life after death is paramount to the church s faith as it based of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Roman Catholic Church s beliefs about life after death can be outlined in 4 sections: judgement, heaven, hell and purgatory. The Roman Catholic Church Judgement One of the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church is that when we die we are judged by the Lord, the Lord judges us on how we have lived our lives on earth; good or bad. It teaches us that Judgement Day is the final and eternal judgment by God of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This belief that the Roman Catholics have occurs on the day they call Judgement Day which is when we die. Heaven The Roman Catholic Church teaches that Heaven is considered a state, a condition of existence, rather than a particular place somewhere in the cosmos. Pope John Paul II declared: The heaven or happiness in which we will find ourselves is neither an abstraction nor a physical place in the clouds, but a living, personal relationship with the Holy Trinity. It is our meeting with the Father which takes place in the risen Christ through the communion of the Holy Spirit. Christians who die not purified must pass through a state of purification before entering into heaven. This belief and teaching of Heaven is shown in the Roman Catholic Catechism #1023 Those who die in God s grace and friendship and are perfectly purified live forever with Christ. They are like God for ever, for they see him as he is, face to face: This adds onto the idea that those who enter heaven and die for God are perfectly purified. It enforces the idea that you must be pure before you can enter. This belief is further followed up in the sacred texts and scriptures of Roman Catholicism in Matthew 18:3. Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven This emphasises that to enter the kingdom of heaven you must become like a child, This supports the idea of being fully purified ... • 5. The Importance Of Banning Books Should Schools Be Able To Ban Books? Now somewhere in America, there is a child holding a copy of Catcher in the Rye and there is a child holding a gun But only one of these things have been banned by their state government And it s not the one that can rip through flesh It s the one that says f you on more pages than one Because we must control what the people say, and how they think and if they want to become the overseer of their own selves, then we ll show them a real one. And somewhere in America, there s a child sitting at his mother s computer, reading the homepage of the KKK s website, and that s open to the public but that child will never have read To Kill a Mockingbird because the school has banned it for it s use of the N ... It s Me Margaret, based on the unsuitability for the targeted age group begs the question: When is the best time to challenge young adult issues such as puberty and bullying, if not during young adulthood. Basically she voicing that we should never silence books that teach our children more about topics that educate them and help them gain understanding of something they care about. Leigh also added, If your child s first encounter with a swear word is in an eleventh grade reading assignment, or if their exposure to violence by the age of, say, ten is limited solely to The Hunger Games, I hereby accuse you of invoking supernatural parenting powers. In making this comment Leigh s point is that in a world filled with media there is little to chance your child doesn t know what violence is or the basis of a controversial topic such as drug use. Maybe your child doesn t know much about these topics but knowledge is our greatest weapon and without it your child could stumble into a bad situation with no defenses. Leigh finally stated in her conclusion, The Feminine Mystique was the spark that ignited second wave feminism, and The Jungle prompted the passage of the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906. The founding of evolutionary biology in Darwin s On the Origin of Species continues to impact scientific theory across the globe, and the African American Civil Rights Movement can find roots in Native Son. • 6. Social Contract Theory On The Origin Of State SOCIAL CONTRACT THEORY 1. INTRODUCTION: The social contract theory is one of the oldest theories on the origin of state. This theory came into existence as a reaction against the divine origin theory. The term social is something which is connected with the society, while contract means an agreement between two or more people. Thus a term of political theory, social contract implies an agreement that makes society possible .this theory holds that the state is the voluntary and deliberate agreement on the part of the people those who emerged from the state of nature, in order to form a state based on a contract between the people and the sovereign and is not made by the god and thus implies that the state is a man`s deliberate creation to serve his needs. The core idea behind this theory is an assumption that there was a period in human history, when there was no state at all and no political law existed. The idea that the power to the ruler is given based on some kind of agreement between him and his subjects is quite old. The social contract theory envisages a state of nature where there were no organised government and rulers. There were no man made laws and no authority to govern the people .the state of nature was prepolitical the idea of social contract divides the state into two phases, i.e. one is the state of nature which was the life of the people before the state came into existence and second is the creation of the state as a result of the contract entered ... In Pleasantville, everything is in black and white and nothing ever changes. It is always bright sunny skies with a high of seventy two and low of seventy two degrees. Everyday is exactly the same and everything is perfect in their eyes. There is never any fighting in this town and the only thing the fire department ever does is save cats from trees. The wives do everything for their husbands, like doing all the cooking and cleaning. The children always obey their parents and never fight with their siblings. All the men go to work at exactly the same time everyday and expect dinner on their tables as soon as they get home. At the town s high school, the basketball team has never missed a single basket in a game and they have never lost a game. Every single thing in Pleasantville is perfect without a single complaint. • 9. What Was The Impact Of The Black Panther Party Nick Smith J. Buergel Civil Rights 5/11/16 The impact of The Black Panther Party We knew, as a revolutionary vanguard, repression would be the reaction of our oppressors, but we recognized that the task of the revolutionist is difficult and his life is short. We were prepared then, as we are now, to give our all in the interest of oppressed people (Baggins). Radical and provocative, the 60 s was an era of complete political and social upheaval. Although the Civil Rights Act of 1964 had banned the discrimination of people based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin, the execution of this act were initially proven weak. Unlike other national organizations or campaigns against the U.S. government, the Black Panther Party for Self Defense remains the only organization to take a militant stance, frequently seen campaigning armed and proudly wielding weapons. Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale, the founders of the Black Panthers, believed that the peaceful and non violent campaign of Martin Luther King had failed, and had very little faith in the implementation of the traditional civil rights movement. Newton casually addresses his violent conducts, stating, And people say, well Huey you re so violent. Why are you so violent Huey? ...And I say, well hey, existence is violent; I exist, therefore I am violent in that way (PBS). Huey P. • 11. Essay about Fine Quality Baroque Music in the Era of... Baroque music is the western music art style that was composed in the era of Renaissance, that is, between 1600 and 1750. Music at any given period reflects tendencies, impulses and influences that are found in art of other kinds of the same period. Therefore the name baroque also applied to the architecture, literature and art in the same period. Baroque has in the past and to some degree in the present had the implications of abnormality, grotesqueness and absurdity. But in its applications to music in the Renaissance period the term baroque does not have connotations that are pejorative because much of the music composed in this period is of high and fine quality (Swain, 7). In that all the instruments that the performer is using fit in the kind of that they are playing. They should also look out for the effects of the musician that may need working on for the actual performance (Donington, 131). Two, as much as it is the responsibility of the performer to choose the instruments, looking up for alternative instruments that are listed is important. That way, if there is an instrument that is missing, the performer should always be able to get an alternative. This also suitable when the there are many instruments needed, the alternative instruments can be used interchangeably (Donington, 131). Three, the notion that instruments that are suitable are acceptable may not always work. A performer should understand that every instrument is made for a specific use and should be the only use it must be put to. That is, it would be impossible to use an instrument and try to make it sound in a particular way. The distinctions were made in the baroque era as much as they do now (Donington, 131). It improved logistics, since several corps operating along separate lines of advance could supply themselves more easily than could a single large army operating along a single route. 6 In addition to the forming of corps and divisions, Napoleon created brigade and army levels of commands. This unique military organizational structure allowed him to effectively move his large armies and outmaneuver his enemies. Like the French, the U.S. Army s military organizational structure consists of armies, corps, divisions, brigades, and battalions. The only exception is the regional commands that it uses. Each command level organization consists of a robust staff that assists commanders with developing plans and executing orders. This organizational structure provides an efficient method of commanding and controlling from the lowest to the highest level of commands. The horses on the edge look like they were maybe even squeezed in. All of the characters in this artwork look to be congregated to the middle of the painting, besides the villages in the distance. Linear perspective is used in the placement of the villages in the background and in all the men and horses, which are grouped in the middle of the screen. Looking at the features in the painting I notice the use of overlapping and vertical placement, which both imply depth. The horses overlap each other as well as the gentlemen and other elements of the painting. The brown horse s head overlaps the black one hiding its mouth. The villages and hills in the background appear to be very far away (diminishing size); they look smaller and distant from the rest of the main aspects of the painting. 5. Time and Motion The element of time is somewhat apparent in which the painting depicts events that happened during the daytime because of the lighting and brightness used in the painting. The red and black colors incorporated in the smoke and fire from the villages implement a sense of time, because although there is smoke and fire the buildings are still in solid form, not destroyed, symbolizing that the fire may not have been burning for very long. • 15. A Twisted Hero Definition A twisted hero is someone who demonstrates great leadership skills, manipulation tactics, and can lead a group of people to success, but does it in a warped or unethical manner. This is because someone who is twisted is, by definition, warped or has an unhealthy way of thinking. However, a hero is defined as a person who is admired or idealized for their courage, noble qualities, and outstanding achievements. They are perceived as mighty protectors and great leaders who can do amazing acts. They can bring success and wealth to people, and lead them towards prosperity. When these terms, twisted and hero, are combined, it gives us the base definition of a twisted hero. There are two categories that define a hero, which are traditional heroes and twisted heroes. A traditional hero and twisted hero are seen as the same by some people, but when compared to a traditional hero, a twisted hero has few similarities and many differences. Most traditional heroes are the good guys; they fight for and protect what is right. In comparison, a twisted hero fights for what he or she thinks is right, and disregards the safety or feelings of others. Traditional heroes are also often revered for their courage, achievements, and noble qualities. They are looked up to by others and can be idolized or admired by the greater public. In the case of a twisted hero, they are looked up to but not for the same reasons. Twisted heroes are looked up to out of fear and because their power demands it, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was born in a time, when women typically were not encouraged to obtain an education. My family, however, went against the grain, and actively supported my sisters and I in our education. Even today, as I write this, my society celebrates women for our virtue and beauty, (Niyazi, 2011) with our sole purpose being solely the ambition to marry and bear children (Niyazi, 2011). Even the background behind me has nothing that would detract from this; the background is a rich green color that only makes my figure stand out to the viewer. I can only hope that the women that have looked at this portrait of me are inspired to pursue their goals and dreams, no matter how foolish they may seem to be by society. My personal theory best exemplifies self development which is essentially another aspect of individual communication. An individual undergoes self development from his or her earliest of interactions. In this respect, the individual learns from his or her experiences. My personal theory embodies this principle because from my experience of the term one day, I have realized how often individuals utilize it in their vernacular and they always never follow through on their one day promises. Wilson worked to win the Senates consent of the Treaty of Versailles when he returned to America in July of 1919. This time, King would not survive his fateful trip to Memphis. Additionally, local newspapers criticized King when he announced he was coming back to Memphis for a second round. Among other comments, the local press criticized him for staying at a white owned Holiday Inn, instead of the Motel Lorraine, which was black owned. This was referred to as New Imperialism which meant expansion over the sea. This was good for trade for the US because it gave a new market to sell goods to and it meant new raw materials would be brought to the US. The US wanted to create a stronger navy and military to help defend the US right to trade not for war that was the last thing the US wanted. Disposable batteries, such as the widely available carbon zinc and alkaline cells, are available in standard sizes such as AA, C, and D, and they are a fast moving consumer good category with emphasis on manufacturing efficiency and scale, marketing and branding, and distribution efficiency. The field is crowded, but manufacturers have been riding rising a tide of demand from consumers for portable electrically powered devices.
