Repercussions In Sports
This article focuses on the severity of contact sport related injuries, more specifically head injuries
and concussions. This has been a hot top throughout many different professional organizations and
it is often discussed how each organization should handle these types of injuries. More recently they
have began to administer tests before each season so that when a head related injuryoccurs, team
doctors can more easily determine whether or not the athlete should return to the field and when
the appropriate time to do so is. Since the repercussions of allowing an athlete to return to quickly
to play can leave long term consequences, professional, college, and even high school teams have
begun to take these injuriesmore seriously by administering these tests. These tests are given
before the season starts ensuring that there has been no injury to the athletes head. After the
season starts, if there is some type of injury related to the head the athlete is given the test at three
different times. These times are 24 hours after injury, 5 days after injury and 10 days after injury.
For the most part, the athletes are back at their original test results from before the season started,
during the 5 to 10 day span after the injury occurred.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

experienced a concussion in the past six months (4 being female) and 14 (3 being female) had
experienced Grade 2 or 3 concussions within 1 week of the test. The student athletes were tested by
completing the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS),
which assesses the following areas: Immediate Memory, Visuoconstructional Ability, Language,

Treatment Plan For Patients With Terminally Ill Patients...
End of life can be completely difficult to cope with, but is a part of everyday life. End of life
pertains to the last days of a patient s life, which means that end of life requires many important
decisions such as medical treatment and knowing when to terminate life support. So planning end
of life can be extremely difficult for the patient and their family members. They will have to make
the decision on where the patient would like to spend their last days, treatments they wish to have
and not to mention their goals of care. This topic is truly important because not many individuals
realize what comes with dealing with end of life care. When it comes to medical treatments for the
patient, they must decide... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on that decision the family can determine how the patient will be cared for at home i.e. a
hospice caregiver as the patient will be unable to care for themselves or family coming together
to care for their loved ones. Whatever the family and the patient chooses will come with a lot of
hard work and dedication. The patient will need help with bathing, feeding, toileting, dressing
and also turning and repositioning. First, if the patient chooses to enter into a hospice facility, it
means that their life expectancy is six months or less. In order for the patient to live a quality
life in the last days, they must be pain and symptom free. This is the service that is provided by
the hospice facility (palliative care), their goal is ensuring that the patient is comfortable. With
this service available the family can focus all of their attention on their loved ones. Not to
mention, they can enjoy their last moments with them. Secondly, if the patient decides to return
home there will have to be a caregiver present and they are usually supervised by the doctor and
the hospice staff. This environment allows for the patient to again be surrounded by loved ones. It
also allows for them to have the peace of knowing that they are in a familiar place. Also this allows

Polish Nationalism in Chopin s Works
Polish Nationalism in Frederic Chopin s Compositions Frederic Chopin was born in the year 1810,
in Warsaw, Poland and died in 1849, at the young age of 39 (Thompson, 113). He was also known
as the Poet of the Piano due to his nuance, his expressive depth and his ability to conjure up the
melody of the human voice from the instrument s keys (http://www.pbs.org/frontlineworld/stories
/poland503/chopin.html). Chopin epitomizes the figure of the Romantic Artist : withdrawn,
temperamental, talented and doomed to a premature death from tuberculosis. (Thompson, 112) As
he had a small and frail physique, he used the beautiful tones, rhythmic flexibility, atmospheric uses
of the pedal and poetic subtleties in dynamics of his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Marian song, Matko NajЕ›wiД™tsza. The main melody from the religious piece can be found

The Effect Of Heat Capacity Of Water
Introduction
The aim of the experiment is measure the specific heat capacity of water and two metals,
aluminum and copper respectively of different conductivity to heat. Heat is a form of energy
associated with the motion of atoms or molecules and is capable of being transmitted through solid
and fluid media by conduction, through fluid media by convection, and through empty space by
radiation. It could also be defined as the transfer of energy from one body to another as a result of
the difference in temperature or the change in phase.
The specific heat could be defined as the amount of heat energy per one kilogram required to raise
the temperature by a degree kelvin. In this experiment the, there is heating of water and the metals
by, electrical energy been converted into heat energy. A certain voltage is required to give rise to
the temperatures for according to Charles law, voltage is directly proportional to temperature
provided that pressure is constant.
Theory
Supplying a thousand grams of energy to water is not the same as supplying a thousand grams of
energy to a metal for they will not rise the same when it all comes down to temperature. What the
difference is between water and a metal is that they are both of different materials, which is they
both would have different boiling and melting point, conductivity and varied structures of and
intermolecular bonds of the substances. To calculate the amount of heat energy require for a
compound or mixture, the mass of the

Ishtar Gate Research Paper
Another spectacular structure in Babylon is the Ishtar Gate. The Ishtar gate is the eighth and
final entrance to the city of Babylon, but it is the main way to enter the city on special
occasions. The Ishtar Gate was constructed by the means of Nebuchadnezzar around 575 BC. He
built this to make his city beautiful and full of life along with the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
The Ishtar Gate was originally one of the Seven Wonders of the World like the Hanging Gardens
of Babylon, but was removed and replaced with something suppodsly better than this beautiful gate
and the walls that surround it. Ishtar was named after the goddess that was worshiped by the

The dragons represent the god of Marduk. Marduk was a god, but historians believe what he
was god of is unclear because of the fact that it is very complicated, and they do not have enough
evidence to support it. The tiles of the actual gate were glazed blue tiles. The blue tiles are
believed to come from lapis lazuli which is a metamorphic rock packed with the dense, rich
mineral called lazurite. After entering and passing through the gatehouse, a long, straight path
called the Processional Way runs into Babylon. This is about half a mile long paved with red
brick on the outer parts and yellow brick in the middle. Each of the bricks used to make the path
have a inscription underneath them. The inscriptions are small prayers from King
Nebuchadnezzar to Marduk the god. The walls are estimated at about fifty feet high, and the wall
are lined with around one hundred and twenty lions made of gold, brown, and yellow bricks. The
lions represent the goddess that the whole gate is named after, Ishtar.175 The Processional Way
was used for the New Year s celebration, through which statues of the deities would parade down.
This beautiful and lively path led to the temple that Marduk was worshiped

Social Effects Of Advertising In Advertising
When going shopping, watching the television or looking in magazines, young girls are among the
most targeted, being affected and vulnerable to the social influences of marketing and
advertisements. Many advertisements of clothing have depicted the female form in a sexually
provocative manner. Sexualisation is when a person s value comes only from his or her sexual
appeal or behaviour, to the exclusion of other characteristics. Furthermore, sexual objectificationis
when the female body is seen as an object of male desire, which leads to a woman s worth being
her body s appearance and sexual function. Evidence from social and psychological studies is
suggesting that girls are exposed from an early age to sexualising content. On average, one third of
clothingitems available to young girls in stores have sexualised characteristics containing either
tight fitting and skin tight, low cut, or see through parts. Such clothing emphasises sexual body
parts such as the chest, bum, or legs. All of which are products that are designed and marketed
for young girls below the age of fourteen. Many garments also feature sex related pictures or
writing such as Future WAG, or short skirts and dresses, along with high heeled shoes which are
not age appropriate for young children. Some [high heeled] shoes I have seen on sale look more
suited to a lap dancing club than the feet of a young girl. Even lingerie, which is typically for

Elon Musk Life As Innovator
Elon Musk
Musk s Motivation
Elon Musk grew up in South Africa. His father was an engineer and his mother was a model.
Maybe his passion for engineering and design came from him. Elon was a smart kid and read
everything that he could get his hands on. As kid he was already busy with programming his own
space game, Blaster.
After he went to America he studied at Stanford. He asked the school for the permission to start an
own business, but if it would fail that he still could go back to Stanford. This was the moment that
Elon Musk life as innovator started. He started his own business with an idea that it would
change the world. This Idea was to take the newspapers online. His idea worked but before it
became as big as he wanted he sold the company for 307 million and his share was 22 million.
After living a few months from his money he wanted to go on because he still needed something
that would change the world and that was his biggest motivation. He wanted people to believe in
his ideas. So he went on with is developing and started the business that became Paypal to make
electronic cash transverse go faster. This innovation transformed the financial industry, which we
still use today. The company was sold to eBay for 1,5 billion and Musk received 165 million. He

Huck Finn Reflection
Activity #1 This book was about a boy named Huck (Huckleberry Finn) who saw his life s
challenges as great adventures. The author gave the main character an incredibly magnetic
personality that surely tapped into each readers childhood. He also made the protagonist very
relatable. Although I was not born around the time African American slavery was allowed I
thought that the dialogue was very authentic. Initially, I was offended on how the African
American slave characters were portrayed. However, I was satisfied when I realized that the
author didn t play favorites when it came to dialogue. In this book, the way a person thought had
no connection with their race. It was clear to see that the author was not biased. He gave each
character a chance to develop his own opinions. One of my favorite parts of the book was when
Huck was trying to figure out what was right: giving a slave back to its rightful owner or setting
them free. Huck made a decision that most adults might not ever come to make because they are
bound by something called a generational curse . A generational curse is something that a person
s parents, grandparents, or great grandparents did that makes its way down in the family tree.
This curse (or blessing) can be a mindset ritual tradition or just a way of life. It could be good,
bad, or neither. For example, Huck was taught not only by his family but in his race that Niggers
(or African Americans) we re property. Caucasians gave African Americans the

How Did Huxley Change In Brave New World
A New World Technological progress has merely provided us with more efficient means for going
backwards ( Aldous Huxley Quotes ). Aldous L. Huxley, author of Brave New World, is one the
most influential writers in history, writing timeless works that still boggle minds almost a century
later. Huxley didn t just become an unparalleled writer overnight, but it is his life that shapes his
works. While Huxley s Keratitis Punctuate, sudden death in the family and strong influences in
science and evolution changed his life greatly, it is the influence on his writing that has left a
lasting mark forever. When Aldous Huxleycontracted Keratitis Punctate in 1911, the course of his
life was changed forever. Since Keratitis punctate is a virus,... Show more content on

Aldous Huxley was born into a family of acclaimed scientists. His grandfather was Thomas
Henry Huxley who is the most famous, controversial naturalist of his time, and with two
brothers becoming eminent biologists, his family was no short of brilliance in the scientific
field. Huxley himself was on the path to become a scientist until he contracted Keratitis Punctate
and couldn t properly conduct his experiments ( Aldous Huxley Biography ). While his later
writings may have not been as dry as a lab report, remnants of his scientific endeavors and
influences are woven throughout. For example, Huxley writes, preserving the excised ovary
alive and actively developing; passed on to a consideration of optimum temperature, salinity,
viscosity (A. Huxley 5). His scientific knowledge that is woven into Brave New World creates a
general image of the future, but in certain areas, such as the passage above, Aldous Huxley uses
his scientific knowledge to create a dry diction that gives off a sense of fear and disgust in the
rapid advancement of technology. Huxley s diction of towering scientific terms brings many
aspects of this society to life, such as when Huxley talks about genetic engineering and

Canada s Role As A Major World Player Essay
As time goes on, some countries become more relevant in the global sphere while others start to
fade away. Canada is a country that only becomes more relevant as time goes on. Since being
granted full sovereignty, Canada has had a growing role as a major world player. Much of their
international growth has to do with its close ties to the United Statesand the United Kingdom.
However, the country has also undergone huge change and refocusing on a domestic level. With
influence from both Europe and the United States, Canadahas a very unique system of governing.
This paper will focus on a few major areas of Canada. It will look into the history of Canada, the
structure of its government, its politics, and many of the major issues it faces today. Similar to the
United States, Canada has a significant portion of their population that is native to the land. The
indigenous people that live in Canada have lived there for thousands of years before the
colonization of Canada occurred. The major groups of modern indigenous people are the Inuit and
the Metis. The Intuits lived in Canada and Greenland for hundreds of years without European
contact. Their first European contact came from Norse settlers in Greenland; however, these Norse
settlers disappeared and left the Inuit mostly isolated until more widespread colonization in the
future. The Metis is a group that refers to people who are descendants from both native people and
European settlers. Their history goes back to the mid

Existentialism In The Stranger By Albert Camus And Tonio...
Introduction The literary characters of Meursault and Tonio Kroeger are likely depicted as outsiders
in the novels The Stranger by Albert Camus and Tonio Kroeger by Thomas Mann. The novels can
both be described as existentialist investigations. Existentialism seeks to investigate the relationship
between individuals and the society, the meaning of life, and the unavoidable conflicts in
interpersonal relationships among other inquisitions. Existentialismis evident in the two novels
under review as the characters are treated as outsiders.
Albert Camus The Stranger The two lead characters namely Meursault and Tonio Kroeger
demonstrate the concept of the outsiders. In The Stranger, Meursault is depicted as an outsider
both in himself as well as the society as owing to his criminal tendencies as he battles to show
emotions and link with realities regarding his life. Meursault is depicted as much disconnected to
the current world and life either emotionally or socially. For instance, the opening scene shows
how Meursault reacts to his mother s death. His lack of remorse and loss is both salient and
borders on the pathological. By falling asleep during his mother s funeral, the action demonstrates
the lack of feelings and social competence which children are usually expected to show to their
parents. Furthermore, he consents to marry Marie, his girlfriend just after she thinks that it would
be an excellent move, and individuals who have a passionate relationship must

Ellis Island and Angel Island Immigration Essay
Ellis Island is a small island located in the Upper New York Bay. Angel Island is the largest
island in the San Francisco Bay in the state of California. Ellis Island served as a national
immigration station from 1892 1924. Angel Island was an immigration station from 1910 1940.
Both Islands helped America grow by opening their doors to the world. Immigrants who came to
America now had a chance to achieve their own dreams and to start new lives. The country was

In the book Life on Ellis Island, Rebman says, Most immigrants could afford to purchase only
steerage, or third class, tickets. The steerage area comprised the decks below sea level where the
steering mechanisms were located (Rebman, 18). It was not cheap to come to America. Some of
immigrants had to sacrifice a lot to make the trip but they took the risk that life would be better
in America. Ellis Island and Angel Island presented an opportunity for success. People that
wouldn t normally have a chance to succeed got to come to America and start a new life. Carl L
Bankston talks about the travel to Ellis Island, Doctors took one glance while immigrants go to
the second floor. This was known as the Six Second exam (Bankston, Carl L, 179). Rebman also
talks about Coded Chalk Marks, she says, A chalk mark drawn on the shoulder of an immigrant
s jacket or on his lapel indicated a wide variety of abnormalities. This system of coded chalk
marks quickly identified immigrants needing further examination. Illness and medical problems
were the most frequent causes of deportation. More than a dozen letters were used to indicate
possible problems; for example, B: back, CT: trachoma, E: eyes, H: heart, L: lameness, Pg:
pregnancy, Sc: scalp, X: suspected mental illness (a circled X meant definite signs of mental
disease had been observed) (Rebman, 24). There were a lot of problems with the boat travel,

Yuma Case Study
In the beginning, Yuma was a just a small town that would continuously be flooding. Yuma wanted
to make something out of the small floodplain town so they decided to try to control the Colorado
river flow. Yuma county thought about what they could do... in 1912, they built a dam to regulate
the flow of water to the Yuma Valley. Many corporations helped with the redirect of the water flow.
I m not sure if the Yuma people realized that with the construction of the dam, their small town
would soon be booming. Yuma wanted to become this area of agricultural greatness, so they came

The dams prevented the transportation of steamboats from going upriver. The dams made the
water levels fluctuate and made the use of steamboat transporting goods unsafe and making it
unsafe because there wasn t enough clearance for the boats to move through without knowing if
you were going to make it through. To turn this around a few positive effects on Yuma County
was in 1931 the California Seven Party Agreement that states that Yuma County would be given
water to use for their crops. The 1931 California Seven Party Agreement states that the Palo

the farms were prospering settlers came, the area was expanding and so was Yuma. The whole
idea was to claim the West by ensuring a stable water supply to irrigate crops and for towns to

distributing water to Yuma County for over one hundred years! The water that flows through the

His main motivations are ideology, social base and economic stimulus.
Putin has long upheld a KGB style Cold War mentality mixed with Conservatism of Russian
thinkers from early twentieth century such as Berdyaev, Solovyov and Ilyin. All of these thinkers,
in one way or another, were patriots as well as socialists and wanted Russia to be independent from
any western ideas which they claimed were manipulative in a sense that, western ideas would
shape rest of the world for their own interests. The mixture of ideas presented by these thinkers is
exactly what Putin needs to unite the legacies of both the Russian and Soviet empires into a solid
path dependant ideology. This ideology roughly says that Western countries spread some liberal and
deleterious ideas essentially hostile to Russia s tradition, and deliberately aims to destroy Russia s
historically unique culture that combines autocracy, orthodoxy and Slavic brotherhood. For this
reason, Putin has no other choice but to protect the historical Russian borders from such civilization
challenge.
Putin has retained his thug image from his time in Leningrad. This thug image still shows today
through his vocabulary, the criminal bureaucratic system he built in Russia and his bold aggressive
behavior on the international stage. Putin has gained a lot of support from presenting himself in
this way, albeit mainly from the middle class and Russian elites. His

It Bears No Doubt That Coates Isn t Not So Much With The...
It bears no doubt that Coates builds quite a cumulative, comprehensive and legible claim, as to the
reparations due to the minority community that befell a multitude of misery at the hands of white
folk. However, the problem that I wish to bring to light, lies not so much with the point(s) brought
forth, but rather with the issue of the practicality and feasibility of the implementation of
reparations. Moreover, I would also like to dwell with the future repercussions of going forth with
such an idea. Even so, I wish to provide for a framework under which such circumstances, though
not justifiable, can easily be explained, as far as their occurrence and the remnants of which occur
in today s society (is in concern.)
First and foremost, Coates in his article barely touches upon ways of going about said reparations.
Although he does state or at least imply that the primary point (or aim) of his article, is to
enumerate the list of injustices faced by the blacks at the hands of the white populace, and not to
advocate any particular means of reparations; such an article without any means or ways of ensuing
actions to resolve, defeats the purpose of presenting one in the first place. This he further concedes
by hinting at the fact that teams of scholars, such as the HR 40, after heated debates and
discussions, might find that America may never be able to repay the African American Community.
The idea of reparations is frightening not simply because we might lack the ability to

Representative Democracy Essay
The political system I would use for Viva la Vida Islands, is the Representative Democracy. I
think it s better to have citizens vote on representatives to represent them, rather than gathering
everybody to vote on one law. It would be extremely difficult to gather people to have them vote.
It s easier to have citizens vote for a leader that has a voice for them and that they trust. Using this
system would be easier and fairer making everyone have a voice in one way or another.
It s certainly better than a communism or a dictatorship. I chose this route since, I disagree with
communism. I don t believe that everybody should have the same pay as each other. It s certainly
unfair for a McDonalds worker to earn the same pay as a builder. I believe the harder you work,
the more pay you should earn! I also, don t think it s right how the government chooses your job
and makes your life decisions. The government shouldn t be that nosey and plan your life out. I
also, don t think a dictatorship is right. It s not an ideally fair system and it s ruled over by one
person! Citizens don t have a voice and I don t think it s fair. Dictatorships always fail anyways
since someone always out rules them! ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Women s Health Assessment Part II
Women s Health Assessment Part II: Labor There are various stages of labor. According to
Chuma, Kihunrwa, Matovelo, and Mahendeka (2014) the initial stage of labor occurs at the onset
of cervical change to complete cervical dilatation, and is further divided into latent and active
phases (Chuma, Kihunrwa, Matovelo, Mahendeka, 2014). When the cervix starts to efface and
dilate up to 3cm, this is considered to be the latent phase. The active phase is declared when
cervical dilatation increases, and occurs from 4 cm to 10 cm (Chuma, Kihunrwa, Matovelo,
Mahendeka, 2014). Case Study and History of Present Illness

Diagnosis And Therapeutic Strategies Of Ebola Virus
From the first outbreak in DRC in 1976 to the recent epidemic in West Africa (2013 2015), there
has been a considerable amount of research done to further the development of the diagnosis and
therapeutic strategies of the Ebola virus. Methods for detecting the virus have improved drastically.
From the initial stage of simply identifying the virusas a whole, diagnosis can now define the
specific species of the virus. Diagnosis processes developed over the years are those that involve
Cell Culture, AntibodyDetection, Protein Antigen Detection, Conventional RT PCR, and Real Time
RT PCR, which is the current standard for EVD diagnosis. In terms of the therapeutic process,
there is still no cure or vaccine that has been approved or cleared for use on human patients with
EVD. The therapy hence largely depends on the immunity of the patient and general treatment of
symptoms as they occur.
INTRODUCTION
EBOV (Ebola virus) is an enveloped RNA virus belonging to the family Filoviridae; under the
electron microscope, it appears filamentous (Strong, et al. 2006). The genus Ebolavirus

Iran, initially known as Persia before 1935, was ruled a monarchy by Shah Mohammad Reza

authority rested in the Supreme Leader. During this time, relations between Iran and the United

has had conflict with Iraq between 1980 thru 1988, which later led to United States involvement in
the Persian Gulf. Iran has also been linked to various Islamic terrorists groups in the region due
terrorist activities being conducted in Lebanon and other parts of the world. Iran has also been the

Iran s government has been under constant change be reformists parties candidates, most notably by

How Is Heathcliff Presented In Wuthering Heights
In Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte s sister, Charlotte Bronte described Heathcliff as a man s
shape animated by demon life a ghoul . Bronte is at her best when she is describing him, and his
looks garner a lot of attention from her and other characters. In Heathcliff s life, his youthful love
for Catherine Earnshawis better than his final years of vengeance. Heathcliff, who is one of the
main characters, is presented in many forms in the novel. He is portrayed as a man who loves
Catherine, homeless, and vengeful. He is also described as evil because he was treated badly in his
youth and Catherine didn t choose him as her husband, she chose Edgar Linton.

After the speech between Catherine and Nelly Dean, Heathcliff left the house because he heard
Catherine would not choose to marry him. When he returned, he is a different man, not the
Heathcliff of the past. On the night that Catherine shared her story with Mrs. Dean, Heathcliff
felt so bad about what she said. Catherine and Nelly Dean thought that Heathcliff was in the
stable, but he was not. You love Edgar because he is handsome, and young, and cheerful, and
rich, and love you (Bronte, 57). Catherine loves Edgar because of many things he was, but if he

Heathcliff. My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods. Time will change it, I m well
aware, as winter changes the tree. My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneath a
source of little visible delight, but necessary (Bronte, 60). Catherine s love for Edgar can be
changed any time, so she loves him because he has much money. Or maybe, she loves him and
uses his money to help Heathcliff. But her love for Heathcliff will not be changed. This is a
passionate love, a real love and unrequited love. Unrequited love is the love that no one wants. It

Characteristics Of Iceberg Theory By Ernest Hemingway
Ernest Hemingway was one of the iconic American writers of the 20th century. He was part of the
so called lost generation of U.S. expatriate writers, who became adults during the time of World
War I and settled in Europe (mainly in Paris) afterwards. His literary works include novels, short
stories, and non fictionprose, and they have earned him both a Pulitzer and a Nobel Prize. While
many of the American expats Hemingway knew personally are considered founders or adherents
of literary modernism (Ezra Pound, T.S. Eliot, James Joyce, etc.), he was not a modernist writer
himself. In fact, he developed a distinct style of writing, which he called The Iceberg Theory .
Before becoming a prominent writer, Hemingway worked as a journalist and... Show more content

As in the other two short stories, the plot revolves around love. Similar to A Very Short Story ,
the male protagonist is an American whose name is not given and the female protagonist is
referred to by a single syllable. Once more, a cursory reading of the text would likely leave an
impression that the narrative is about nothing more than a casual conversation between a couple
waiting for a train. Unlike in The End of Something , no character aids the reader in understanding
what is actually going on. Again, the title provides the key to the real meaning behind the dialogue.
A white elephant is an expensive object, but one that nobody wants to have. Moreover, it brings to
mind the expression the elephant in the room , which denotes something obvious that nobody
wants to talk about. Though it is never explicitly mentioned, the elephant is in fact the unborn baby
of the female protagonist whose life is on the line because the two characters are discussing
abortion, which was still illegal and socially unacceptable at the time. The conversation in the text
is interesting and somewhat untypical of Hemingway s writing. It appears that neither the man nor
the woman say what they really think, in fact, at some points they seem to be saying the exact
opposite. He strongly favors the abortion but then repeatedly claims that he does not want her to do
it. She would like to keep the child but then

The Circulatory System In The Human Heart
The Circulatory System
The circulatory system
The circulatory system is a vast network of organs and vessels that is responsible for the flow of
blood, nutrients, hormones, oxygen and other gases to and from cells. Without the circulatory
system, the body would not be able to fight disease or maintain a stable internal environment such
as proper temperature and pH known as homeostasis. (Live Science, 2017)
Main keys roles
The most important role of the cardiovascular system is maintaining a normal, healthy, balanced
movement.
The cardiovascular system is often called the blood vascular, or simply the circulatory system. It
consists of the heart, and a closed system of vessels called arteries, veins, and capillaries.
The Effect of exercise on the heart
Your heart pumps blood at a fast pace to pump extra food and oxygen to the muscles. When, you
exercise your body, has to pumps more blood. This is because when you exercise, the cells that
are in your muscles need more energy to move. Your muscles get this energy from respiration.
This chemical reaction uses up oxygen to release energy from glucose. This then travels in the
blood, so if your muscles need more oxygen and glucose, they get it from the blood. So now we
know that when you exercise, your body pumps more blood, which makes your pulse rate faster.
The Human Heart
Structure
In humans, the heart is located among the lungs. The human heart is situated to the left of the
middle of your chest. A

Shakespeare s Motives In Macbeth
Motives are a part of people s everyday lives. People use motives to explain why they did
something. William Shakespeare is a well known play writer from the 1600s. Shakespeare is
known for his tragedies like Macbeth. Macbeth was written between 1606 1607 and published in
the First Folio of 1623 (Bevington). Shakespeare uses motives to explain why Macbethkills king
Duncan of Scotland and many of his loyal followers. Shakespeare wrote many motives for Macbeth
to use but some of those motives are more important than others. The main motives of Macbeth are

Macbeth called him a coward. Lady Macbeth told Macbeth that if he did not kill Duncan then he
was not a man. Shakespeare never wastes words, and least of all in Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is
first introduced to us reading the latter portion of a letter she has just received from her husband,
telling her of his meeting with the witches and of their prophesy that he is to be king. The letter,
and Lady Macbeth s soliloquy which follows, describe Macbeth s character and interpret her own.

that they have talked over the situation of affairs in the kingdom, with all its possibilities, both
those which may be depended upon to come unaided and those which may be forced to an issue

King Duncan she gets into Macbeth s head and convinces him the killing Duncan is the only way
to fulfil the prophecy from the witches. Lady Macbeth goes on to say that if Macbeth does not kill

Comparing Greek And Norse Mythology
When analyzing both Greek and Norse stories and beliefs, they can appear to be both very unique
in nature, but also very alike to each other. Some of the attributes shared between them exist in
their gods, concept of fate, and origin story where they conquer their creators. Along with the
parallels they share, they also contrast when it comes to their playful or gloomy nature, heroes,
and the gods power. To compare Greek and Norse mythology, it is beneficial to examine the gods,
their ideas of fate, and their origin stories that they had. Though their gods generally differed, they
held many of the same traits. Odin and Zeuswere both seen as a ruler of the Olympians. Thor also

As Lord Normand stated in Teper : The rule against the admission of hearsayis fundamental... The
truthfulness and accuracy of the witness whose words are spoken by another person cannot be

10.This rule is not inflexible. As Heffernan explained: Notwithstanding its merit in excluding

Summary Of The Daughter Of Time By Josephine Tey
Napoleon Bonaparte once stated that history is the version of past events that people have
decided to agree upon. As evolution continues we see a change in not only what the future may
bring, but also what the past may have to offer. The history we are taught is based on the
teachings and readings of others, as it is clear that reliable resources are limited because we simply
were not around during those specific times. The Daughter of Time, by Josephine Tey proves this
exact notion; that in actuality, what may have been relayed to us historically may not have been the
entire truth, but who are we to claim that or disprove such things?

Though at the end of the book, Tey s clear message leads us to believe that Richard in fact was
innocent of all the crimes he was claimed to have committed, how can we be certain?
Authors like Tey pushed for a society to not only question the surroundings of the world, but look
deeper into we are being told and taught. What one may believe, with the right attitude and
supporting detail, may be enough to change the minds of many who are easily manipulated.
Each and every time period creates pieces of works that reflect the very time they are living in,
this being proven by the works written on Richard the third. While some were stuck on the
notions that Richard did in fact kill his nephews, works portrayed him as a pious and unforgiving
man looking for power, disregarding all costs even his family. On the opposite side of the spectrum
we read pieces of history that completely defend Richard the third and wonder why he had not
done more to protect his reputation believing that he did not do what was claimed to have done.
It is also indeed the hope that a nation believes in that affects what is

2.QUESTION: what are the external forces that we cannot control within a business?
Answer: Factors that we cannot control within a business is better known as External Forces.
Ventures require correct planning in order to be financed correctly. This entails a detailed plan an
entrepreneur hopes to carrying out, however, a minor external factor can be brought into the mix in
any moment that can change that plan drastically. An example of an external factor crippling
certain businesses is the housing bubble of 2008. Even if businesses had nothing to do with the real
estate market some of their businesses failed due to the fact that they could not gather finances to
keep their doors open and business running. External factors are not just limited to economic
downturns, however, they include factors such as laws and regulations and trends. If your product

visited Friends University during my Spring Break. Honestly, I was not at all excited to visit the
campus. Living in Chicago, IL all my life, the thought of going to school in Kansas did not spark
my interest. Once I arrived on campus my attitude on how I felt changed. The first thing I ... Show

Thinking about why I didn t feel happy about ballet anymore made me very upset. There were
many nights where I would cry myself to sleep thinking about it. I knew that I enjoyed dancing,
but was unsure if I wanted to major in that field. Realizing the struggle a ballet dancer has to live
every day to survive in this world made me think twice that I just did not have the dedication that
is needed to be a professional in a Ballet Company. When I thought of the jobs after college in the
field of Zoo Science it made me happy to think about. Even though working in a Zoo or some
type of job similar to that would take a lot of dedication and effort, it made me smile. Thinking
over and over about my tough decision made me see that I was just tired of ballet and it is not
that I didn t love ballet; I was just tired of consuming my whole life for it. My heart was telling
that I wanted and needed to explore something new in my life. After making my decision that
switching my major to Zoo Science would be a better career path. I felt happy again returning
back at Friends after Thanksgiving break. I knew exactly what I wanted to tell my advisor in
Ballet. Telling Sharon the news that I felt switching my major to Zoo Science from Ballet was
what would make me happy for my future after college was a huge stress reliever. I felt a huge
weight lifted off my shoulder and I felt much

Case Analysis
Mary Kay Cosmetics is a company known for providing women with exceptional opportunities for
professional achievement and economic success and rewarding women for their success. Mary Kay
Cosmetics uses several programs to motivate, recognize, and develop its beauty consultants, which
include recognition in a monthly magazine, annual events, gifts and prizes and most importantly,
financial incentives. At the heart of the financial incentives Mary Kay provides is the three car
programs offered to beauty consultants at different stages of their career. The car programs have
proven to be effective motivators; however the costs to the company have skyrocketed as the

Organizational objectives contribute to creating a motivating work setting because they provide
employees with a sense of meaning and purpose and help employees understand the goals they
should be striving for (George and Jones, 2005). Mary Kay Cosmetics wants to be the top sellers in
their industry, but they also want to promote a customer centered culture that strives for total
customer satisfaction (Incentive, 1991), but their current incentive program doesn t provide
rewards for beauty consultants with high levels of customer satisfaction. Just because a VIP is a
great seller and has the ability to recruit, doesn t automatically mean that she has the most satisfied
customers of all her team members. Reward systems, such as Mary Kay s motivate employees to
do well in the areas of their jobs that are measured by the performance evaluation system. The
problem is that rewards systems do not always measure all the behaviors that the individual need
perform for the organization to ultimately be successful (Lawler, 1994). The management is
concerned that they are not getting as much as they could from all VIP consultants above the level
of sales and recruiting needed to maintain use of their cars and that the VIP car program in general
is costing them more than its worth. According to the Schedule of Nonfinancial Incentives for
Mary Kay Consultants, there are currently four titles or positions before acquiring VIP status, but

Improving Children s Testimonies In Court
Introduction
The argument of whether or not to use child testimonies in court has been long debated. I believe
that children s testimonies can play a vital role in many court cases. Although there should be a
careful protocol when obtaining there statements, so they are not biased into a false statement.
Some research shows that there may be techniques we could use in order to improve child s
testimonies, other research shows that children s testimonies can be manipulated and altered just by
the way you phrase the question. People also have to take into account that a child is not fully
developed so factors such as language could affect the child s understanding of what they are being
asked. It could also have implication on their ability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Seating Structure Design and Active Classroom...
Seating Structure Design and Active Classroom Participation of College Students Mildred S.
Ruedas Most settings of classrooms we see in the Philippines or observed even in our own
schools and universities are almost similar with each other. Specifically concerning the seating
style. Very few from our teachers or professors are changing the style of the seats like instead of
using the Row Style in teaching, change it to Semi circle style. The researcher also noticed that
with the traditional kind of setting in seating arrangement, we hear teachers say, People from the

The active performance of the students can be seen during recitations, asking questions and
participation in class activities. The researcher decided to stick with the variable, recitation of the
students. When a child is active in his or her performance, it is possible that he or she learned a lot
and gets more knowledge. As for the researcher s opinion, seating arrangement is not for a shallow
reason of controlling the students because after all, inside the classroom, there is always an
authority and that is the teacher and authority should be followed for they set order for the better. In
case of a classroom, seating arrangement is a concern for the teachers in order to prevent and lessen
constraints brought by the students that could affect the attention of both the teacher and the
classmates and much worse the learning process that could affect the active participation of the
students. Still, the majority s advantage is being seen. The researcher aims to know the effects of U
style seating arrangement to active participation in terms of first, question and answer portion
between the teacher and students, second, sharing of ideas of the students and lastly, lessening of
disruptive behavior in the class. Also, the researcher wants to know the effects of Row style seating

Pros And Cons Of The Executive Branch
...Power over any one thing, if not limited by some obvious and precise affinity, may amount to a
Power over every other. James madison. James Madison s ideas about the American Constitution
(considering he wrote the first draft) clearly reflects his opinion about how one branch should not
have more power than another, and if one happens to be able to exploit a specific power, or given
to much power; it will have power over everything. This is crucial to the inner workings of America
s government because without Branches constantly checking each other, America is just a good as
a Monarchy.
The executive branch has the ability to check the other branches as well as it being constantly
checked on. The president, a major part of the executive branch, has the power to pardon, or
essentially forgive someone, for an offense. Around the time when Richard M. Nixon was
president (in office from 1969 1974) was indicted of attempting to cover up a burglary in the
Watergate Complex. He quickly resigned. He was sentenced and President Gerald Ford pardoned
former president Richard M. Nixon. Gerald Ford regrets My mistakes . The Executive branch also
has the ability to appoint officials working under the legislative branch. A recent example of this

Television And The Spanish Radio Station
In its beginnings, no major or even minor radio station saw a future in Hispanic radio. Companies
saw the Hispanic radio as a loss rather than an unopened door to a loyal public in not only the states,
but all the way to many Mexican border cities. Yet, once brokers began the Spanish language
programming, companies noticed how profitable these programs could potentially be. Stations and
advertisers began to understand the benefit of reaching an underserved audience in their native
language, publishing station profiles and trade figures for Spanish language stations. It was only in
the late 1970s that marketers and advertisers demonstrated any real interest in this group of
consumers (O Guinn, 1980). In 1980 the Federal Communications Commission found sixty seven
Spanish oriented radio stations on the air. By the year 2000 the figure had increased dramatically to
nearly six hundred, signifying a near 500 percent increase.21 The latest 2009 figures list over one
thousand radio stations that broadcast exclusively in Spanish (Casillas, 2014). Spanish radio is
known for catering to their immigrant based listeners, which we discussed, has created an immense
amount of loyal listeners. Economic growth has been a byproduct of the stations need for
connecting with their listeners and their constant search for sufficing their needs. Economically,
this has maintained their numbers high, both in listeners and dollars. Both commercial and
community based radio stations routinely

Confucianism And Its Influence On Society
Confucianism can be regarded as a religion, a belief, a way of ruling and a basis for laying the
ground rules for the East Asian countries. Confucianism had gone through so many transformations
and has been affected by many religions and dynasties. Many dynasties have adapted the ways of
Confucianism, which state that there is a connection between humans and heaven. However, as
time progressed, religions such as Buddhismand Daoism also adapted the ways of Confucianism,
but they changed some of its ways, leading to new form of this learning. The Buddhists and the
Daoists changed and adapted their philosophies based on Confucian views towards the universe
and the society, as well as stripping their own belief from superstitions and myths. These lead to a
new learning of Confucianism, called the Neo Confucianism, referred to as Dao Xue (the Learning
of the Way) or Li Xue (the Learning of the Principle/Reason) (Yau 8).
Neo Confucianism was adopted into Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese schools. While it was
mentioned that it was mostly Buddhism that lead to new changes in Confucianism, other religions
played an important role in adapting and changing the method as well and were adopted by
different Asian countries. The Christian approach towards Neo Confucianism was mostly practiced
around Korea, China, And Vietnam; the Islamic adaptation was practiced in other parts of China
as well as Central Asia; and Neo Buddhism approach was practiced in parts of Japan and Chine.

Homelessness Effect
When homeless people are faced with these factors their they will face even worse situations. In
addition, the causes and effects of homelessness are often interchangeable. This part will explain
how these factors bring the effect on individual, community and society. Homelessness damages
people s possibility and capability of motivation and it can bring emotional health problems such as
depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. A study reveals that 20 25% of homeless people,
compared with 6% of the non homeless, have severe mental illness. (National Coalition,2009). This
situation causes even more harm for women as the researchers found homeless women are more
likely to need support for mental healthproblems than men. (St Mungo s ,2016). This situation can
lead more homeless people to be alcoholics and have a high dependency on drugs. Accounting for
just over a third of all homelessnessdeaths is an abuse of drugs and alcohol. (Homelessness:... Show

Communities are affected by homeless people in various ways. Homelessness can often have a
negative impact on local communities as homeless people have to find some places to live and
sleep, places where they will stay can be benches outside, behind buildings, on the street and the
parks. Therefore, the brand value or image of the community can be reduced by homelessness on
the street. Unfortunately, tourists or non homeless people can feel uncomfortable or in danger
when they walk by them. In addition, Public public facilities can be abused or overused by people
in this situation.
Regardless of age and other circumstances of homelessness it is obvious that homelessness has a
huge impact on the development of society. The society has to pick up the cost for homeless
individuals to provide basic services or care services for them such as treatment of illness, mental
counseling, providing accommodation and food to eat (Impact

Battle Of San Juan Hill Essay
The Battle of San Juan Hill July 1, 1898 was one of the bloodiest battles of The Spanish
American War. The battle of San Juan Hill also known as San Juan Heights was of strategic
importance because it permitted the Americans to place guns above the harbor at Santiago. The
gun positions overlooking the harbor prevented the Spanish Navy from escaping which
ultimately led to their land forces surrendering shortly after the loss of San Juan Hill. (United
States History) U.S. General William Shafter ordered the attack on El Caney and San Juan Hill.
General Shafter had hoped to take El Caney prior to beginning the push for San Juan Hill but the
Spanish defenders proved themselves to be tenacious and managed to hold off a great number of
American attackers. The steadfast defense of the Spanish prevented the Americans from securing
El Caney until late in the afternoon. Spanish gunfire managed to take out hundreds of Americans
but failed stop an estimated 8,000 troops from continuing on towards San Juan Hill. Troops were
then split into two flanks at the base of the heights in order to take San Juan Hill and Kettle Hill
with the order from Lieutenant John Miley that the heights must be taken at all hazards .
(History.com, 2010) What took place after the units were given the order to begin the assault
depends on which participant told the story. The lesser publicized accounts bring into question
whether Teddy Roosevelt actually led the charge up San Juan Hill

How Successful Was Edward Heath as Leader of the...
How successful was Edward Heath as leader of the Conservative Party between 1965 and 1974?
Edward Heath led the conservative party through a difficult and revolutionary period in British
politics from the years 1965 to 1974, punctuated by the joining of the ECC in 1973, prolonged
damaging strikes, high levels of inflation, and many monumental U turns through the period of his
office. The concept of change is most notably seen right from the offset of his leadership as he was
the first conservative leader to be elected democratically, by ballot, marking a turning away from the
old boy network of Tory prime ministers preceding him. He himself went against tradition, coming
from very humble backgrounds, having been through the grammar school ... Show more content on

Secondly, as Wilson faced crises in the failure of Trade Union reform and a stagnant economy,
the Tories moved steadily to the right, many seeing this as a successful move by Heath. The move
to the right got a massive publicity boost in Selsdon Park Hotel at a shadow cabinet meeting
(January 1970) in the run up to the election. In the public eye, the term Selsdon Man (a phrase
readily clutched by the media) meant a return to free enterprise which directly contrasted Wilson s
policies of interventionism the return to the values of hard work, trade union reform and a more
efficient and independent industry. These ideas, although not particularly revolutionary in terms of
policy for Tories, in election year provided a real incentive to frustrated voters, who looked at the
struggling Wilson government whose interventionist policies were having little upswing effect on
the economy. Many see the conference as an end of consensus politics, and the start of a marathon
political battle between the two leaders. The fact that the Tories gained such publicity at Selsdon,
and managed to convince the electorate that contrasting policies to the labour government such as
the move to a more free market economy was necessary, showed Heath to be a successful leader in
the outset of his campaign.
Heath can be seen to be a successful leader due to the fact he won the 1970 election, much to
Harold Wilson s surprise. However, many would place the win not down to the

Counter dependency statements. They seek independence by rebelling from the direction of the

These groups rely on technology to communicate with one another and to accomplish the tasks
allocated by the organization. One benefit of a virtual team is that they use technology and this can
help increase efficiency and productivity of the members. The virtual teams also assist in the
development of intellectual capital. The composition of the virtual groups helps improve quality as
well as the outcome. The other benefit is the efficiency of communication. Some of the challenges
include the distance between the members. The significant distance may dilute leadership, weaken
human relations as well as amplify dysfunction. Virtual teams are hard to manage especially when it
comes to goal setting, task distribution, coordination and member motivation. Virtual organizations
rely on trust that the other members will fulfill their roles since it is not possible to monitor them
closely (Hoppe, 2011). The virtual teams may face some internet challenges such as slow internet or
disconnection. This problem can be handled through the use of alternative methods of
communication such as mobile phones. While making a virtual team, the team members should
address all challenges which may hinder communication by coming up with all possible substitutes
of means of communication. These organizations rely heavily on the internet for video
conferencing and sending emails. However, when the internet fails, they

Descartes Mind And The Body
Descartes argues for mind body dualism in his Meditations on First Philosophy and Discourse on
Method. Descartes s arguments attempt to prove that the mind and the body are two distinct
substances. He argues that human existence is solely based on thought and not the existence of a
physical body. He also shows the difference between the mindand body by identifying them as
extended and non extended things. His arguments give rise to the philosophical problems of how
we can come to know other people s minds and how we can be sure if animals have minds.
Descartes solves these problems by establishing clear and distinct ideas from mental inspection

By doing this he will only know things he is certain of. The basis of doubt is how Descartes finds
his first principle of philosophy, I think, therefore I am (Method 18). Descartes deduces that the fact
that he is able to doubt that he doesn t have a body actually proves his existence because this doubt
requires thought, I was a substance the whole essence or nature of which is simply to think, and
which, in order to exist, has no need of any place nor depends on any material thing. (Method 18

and that he can t be sure it s physical because it could be based on a lie or

2D animation vs Flash Animation
The progression of time brings newer innovation, technology, and modern technique that makes
living a lot easier. Since the 1930s , animation has progressed from standard pencil and paper. Now,

As soon as an animator completes their work, the animator submits their work to the test camera
department to see how well it is in motion. Did you also know that an in between that hardly flows
in the process of the test camera? When this incorrection is prominent, the entire frame is thrown
away and revise the entire frame. Unlike the methods of 2D animation, flash animation is less
stunning. Flash Animation is the predecessor of 2D
Animation; Flash Animation is quicker and inexpensive. Besides flash animation being quicker,
updated, and cheaper, the production of flash animation is often sloppy and inaccurate to what is
being shown on the screen. For example,
Teen Titans Go! , is a TV Program made from Flash Animation. Teen Titans Go! is a terrible show.
Besides its lack of continuity to the original show, Teen Titans,
The animation plays a key role why this show is terrible. The movement is robotic and cheap; the
character design for each character is bland. After receiving criticism based solely on the
animation practices of the show, the animators make a jab about their choppy animation. What is
depicted in the scene of the jab is the dislocation of body parts that float toward the other side of
the screen, away from that character s body.
Adding on, 2D animation is better than Flash Animation for its usage of materials. Materials play a
key role in art. Material can range mediums such as paint, pen, Technology, etc. 2D

The Effect Of Photography On Forensic Science
Photography in forensic science is arguably an important factor to the forensic science world
especially when is used in court situations to carry out justice in court. Photography helps to aid
investigations provides the court room investigators with photos of victims, places and items in
detail involved in the crime.
The basics of photography is understanding how a camera works, a standard camera has very basic
components these are
A viewfinder
A focusing mechanism
A shutter
An aperture
A lens
The light proof camera body
Finally a variety of buttons/devices to control the settings
So the basics of how a camera works are as follows as the light enters the camera this will be
through the lens aperture. It is then reflected the image is recorded on to a light sensitive film
that is loaded within the camera. When looking at the individual components of the camera
firstly is the lens this is a curved piece of glass of which the light passes through to allow the
light to enter the camera then this is redirected to finally this comes together in order to form an
image. The aperture is located between the rear and front lens; the aperture refers to the size of the
lens opening this basically controls the amount of light that enters the camera, sometimes the
aperture can be known as the f stop or f number. The largest aperture is F 2 the smallest is F 22.
The shutter is the object that is covering the lens, and this is the feature that controls the

  • 2. Repercussions In Sports This article focuses on the severity of contact sport related injuries, more specifically head injuries and concussions. This has been a hot top throughout many different professional organizations and it is often discussed how each organization should handle these types of injuries. More recently they have began to administer tests before each season so that when a head related injuryoccurs, team doctors can more easily determine whether or not the athlete should return to the field and when the appropriate time to do so is. Since the repercussions of allowing an athlete to return to quickly to play can leave long term consequences, professional, college, and even high school teams have begun to take these injuriesmore seriously by administering these tests. These tests are given before the season starts ensuring that there has been no injury to the athletes head. After the season starts, if there is some type of injury related to the head the athlete is given the test at three different times. These times are 24 hours after injury, 5 days after injury and 10 days after injury. For the most part, the athletes are back at their original test results from before the season started, during the 5 to 10 day span after the injury occurred.... • 3. Treatment Plan For Patients With Terminally Ill Patients... End of life can be completely difficult to cope with, but is a part of everyday life. End of life pertains to the last days of a patient s life, which means that end of life requires many important decisions such as medical treatment and knowing when to terminate life support. So planning end of life can be extremely difficult for the patient and their family members. They will have to make the decision on where the patient would like to spend their last days, treatments they wish to have and not to mention their goals of care. This topic is truly important because not many individuals realize what comes with dealing with end of life care. When it comes to medical treatments for the patient, they must decide... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on that decision the family can determine how the patient will be cared for at home i.e. a hospice caregiver as the patient will be unable to care for themselves or family coming together to care for their loved ones. Whatever the family and the patient chooses will come with a lot of hard work and dedication. The patient will need help with bathing, feeding, toileting, dressing and also turning and repositioning. First, if the patient chooses to enter into a hospice facility, it means that their life expectancy is six months or less. In order for the patient to live a quality life in the last days, they must be pain and symptom free. This is the service that is provided by the hospice facility (palliative care), their goal is ensuring that the patient is comfortable. With this service available the family can focus all of their attention on their loved ones. Not to mention, they can enjoy their last moments with them. Secondly, if the patient decides to return home there will have to be a caregiver present and they are usually supervised by the doctor and the hospice staff. This environment allows for the patient to again be surrounded by loved ones. It also allows for them to have the peace of knowing that they are in a familiar place. Also this allows ... • 4. Polish Nationalism in Chopin s Works Polish Nationalism in Frederic Chopin s Compositions Frederic Chopin was born in the year 1810, in Warsaw, Poland and died in 1849, at the young age of 39 (Thompson, 113). He was also known as the Poet of the Piano due to his nuance, his expressive depth and his ability to conjure up the melody of the human voice from the instrument s keys (http://www.pbs.org/frontlineworld/stories /poland503/chopin.html). Chopin epitomizes the figure of the Romantic Artist : withdrawn, temperamental, talented and doomed to a premature death from tuberculosis. • 6. The Effect Of Heat Capacity Of Water Introduction The aim of the experiment is measure the specific heat capacity of water and two metals, aluminum and copper respectively of different conductivity to heat. Heat is a form of energy associated with the motion of atoms or molecules and is capable of being transmitted through solid and fluid media by conduction, through fluid media by convection, and through empty space by radiation. It could also be defined as the transfer of energy from one body to another as a result of the difference in temperature or the change in phase. The specific heat could be defined as the amount of heat energy per one kilogram required to raise the temperature by a degree kelvin. In this experiment the, there is heating of water and the metals by, electrical energy been converted into heat energy. A certain voltage is required to give rise to the temperatures for according to Charles law, voltage is directly proportional to temperature provided that pressure is constant. Theory Supplying a thousand grams of energy to water is not the same as supplying a thousand grams of energy to a metal for they will not rise the same when it all comes down to temperature. What the difference is between water and a metal is that they are both of different materials, which is they both would have different boiling and melting point, conductivity and varied structures of and intermolecular bonds of the substances. Marduk was a god, but historians believe what he was god of is unclear because of the fact that it is very complicated, and they do not have enough evidence to support it. The tiles of the actual gate were glazed blue tiles. The blue tiles are believed to come from lapis lazuli which is a metamorphic rock packed with the dense, rich mineral called lazurite. After entering and passing through the gatehouse, a long, straight path called the Processional Way runs into Babylon. This is about half a mile long paved with red brick on the outer parts and yellow brick in the middle. Each of the bricks used to make the path have a inscription underneath them. The inscriptions are small prayers from King Nebuchadnezzar to Marduk the god. The walls are estimated at about fifty feet high, and the wall are lined with around one hundred and twenty lions made of gold, brown, and yellow bricks. The lions represent the goddess that the whole gate is named after, Ishtar.175 The Processional Way was used for the New Year s celebration, through which statues of the deities would parade down. • 8. Social Effects Of Advertising In Advertising When going shopping, watching the television or looking in magazines, young girls are among the most targeted, being affected and vulnerable to the social influences of marketing and advertisements. Many advertisements of clothing have depicted the female form in a sexually provocative manner. Sexualisation is when a person s value comes only from his or her sexual appeal or behaviour, to the exclusion of other characteristics. Furthermore, sexual objectificationis when the female body is seen as an object of male desire, which leads to a woman s worth being her body s appearance and sexual function. Evidence from social and psychological studies is suggesting that girls are exposed from an early age to sexualising content. On average, one third of clothingitems available to young girls in stores have sexualised characteristics containing either tight fitting and skin tight, low cut, or see through parts. Such clothing emphasises sexual body parts such as the chest, bum, or legs. All of which are products that are designed and marketed for young girls below the age of fourteen. Many garments also feature sex related pictures or writing such as Future WAG, or short skirts and dresses, along with high heeled shoes which are not age appropriate for young children. • 10. Huck Finn Reflection Activity #1 This book was about a boy named Huck (Huckleberry Finn) who saw his life s challenges as great adventures. The author gave the main character an incredibly magnetic personality that surely tapped into each readers childhood. He also made the protagonist very relatable. Although I was not born around the time African American slavery was allowed I thought that the dialogue was very authentic. Initially, I was offended on how the African American slave characters were portrayed. However, I was satisfied when I realized that the author didn t play favorites when it came to dialogue. In this book, the way a person thought had no connection with their race. It was clear to see that the author was not biased. He gave each character a chance to develop his own opinions. One of my favorite parts of the book was when Huck was trying to figure out what was right: giving a slave back to its rightful owner or setting them free. Huck made a decision that most adults might not ever come to make because they are bound by something called a generational curse . A generational curse is something that a person s parents, grandparents, or great grandparents did that makes its way down in the family tree. This curse (or blessing) can be a mindset ritual tradition or just a way of life. It could be good, bad, or neither. For example, Huck was taught not only by his family but in his race that Niggers (or African Americans) we re property. Caucasians gave African Americans the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. How Did Huxley Change In Brave New World A New World Technological progress has merely provided us with more efficient means for going backwards ( Aldous Huxley Quotes ). Aldous L. Huxley, author of Brave New World, is one the most influential writers in history, writing timeless works that still boggle minds almost a century later. Huxley didn t just become an unparalleled writer overnight, but it is his life that shapes his works. While Huxley s Keratitis Punctuate, sudden death in the family and strong influences in science and evolution changed his life greatly, it is the influence on his writing that has left a lasting mark forever. When Aldous Huxleycontracted Keratitis Punctate in 1911, the course of his life was changed forever. Since Keratitis punctate is a virus,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Aldous Huxley was born into a family of acclaimed scientists. His grandfather was Thomas Henry Huxley who is the most famous, controversial naturalist of his time, and with two brothers becoming eminent biologists, his family was no short of brilliance in the scientific field. Huxley himself was on the path to become a scientist until he contracted Keratitis Punctate and couldn t properly conduct his experiments ( Aldous Huxley Biography ). While his later writings may have not been as dry as a lab report, remnants of his scientific endeavors and influences are woven throughout. For example, Huxley writes, preserving the excised ovary alive and actively developing; passed on to a consideration of optimum temperature, salinity, viscosity (A. Huxley 5). His scientific knowledge that is woven into Brave New World creates a general image of the future, but in certain areas, such as the passage above, Aldous Huxley uses his scientific knowledge to create a dry diction that gives off a sense of fear and disgust in the rapid advancement of technology. Huxley s diction of towering scientific terms brings many aspects of this society to life, such as when Huxley talks about genetic engineering and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Canada is a country that only becomes more relevant as time goes on. Since being granted full sovereignty, Canada has had a growing role as a major world player. Much of their international growth has to do with its close ties to the United Statesand the United Kingdom. However, the country has also undergone huge change and refocusing on a domestic level. With influence from both Europe and the United States, Canadahas a very unique system of governing. This paper will focus on a few major areas of Canada. It will look into the history of Canada, the structure of its government, its politics, and many of the major issues it faces today. Similar to the United States, Canada has a significant portion of their population that is native to the land. The indigenous people that live in Canada have lived there for thousands of years before the colonization of Canada occurred. The major groups of modern indigenous people are the Inuit and the Metis. The Intuits lived in Canada and Greenland for hundreds of years without European contact. Their first European contact came from Norse settlers in Greenland; however, these Norse settlers disappeared and left the Inuit mostly isolated until more widespread colonization in the future. The Metis is a group that refers to people who are descendants from both native people and European settlers. Their history goes back to the mid ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His musical achievements rightfully earned him the title of the King of Pop . • 14. Existentialism In The Stranger By Albert Camus And Tonio... Introduction The literary characters of Meursault and Tonio Kroeger are likely depicted as outsiders in the novels The Stranger by Albert Camus and Tonio Kroeger by Thomas Mann. The novels can both be described as existentialist investigations. Existentialism seeks to investigate the relationship between individuals and the society, the meaning of life, and the unavoidable conflicts in interpersonal relationships among other inquisitions. Existentialismis evident in the two novels under review as the characters are treated as outsiders. Albert Camus The Stranger The two lead characters namely Meursault and Tonio Kroeger demonstrate the concept of the outsiders. In The Stranger, Meursault is depicted as an outsider both in himself as well as the society as owing to his criminal tendencies as he battles to show emotions and link with realities regarding his life. Meursault is depicted as much disconnected to the current world and life either emotionally or socially. For instance, the opening scene shows how Meursault reacts to his mother s death. His lack of remorse and loss is both salient and borders on the pathological. By falling asleep during his mother s funeral, the action demonstrates the lack of feelings and social competence which children are usually expected to show to their parents. Furthermore, he consents to marry Marie, his girlfriend just after she thinks that it would be an excellent move, and individuals who have a passionate relationship must ... Yuma wanted to make something out of the small floodplain town so they decided to try to control the Colorado river flow. Yuma county thought about what they could do... in 1912, they built a dam to regulate the flow of water to the Yuma Valley. Many corporations helped with the redirect of the water flow. I m not sure if the Yuma people realized that with the construction of the dam, their small town would soon be booming. It bears no doubt that Coates builds quite a cumulative, comprehensive and legible claim, as to the reparations due to the minority community that befell a multitude of misery at the hands of white folk. However, the problem that I wish to bring to light, lies not so much with the point(s) brought forth, but rather with the issue of the practicality and feasibility of the implementation of reparations. Moreover, I would also like to dwell with the future repercussions of going forth with such an idea. Even so, I wish to provide for a framework under which such circumstances, though not justifiable, can easily be explained, as far as their occurrence and the remnants of which occur in today s society (is in concern.) First and foremost, Coates in his article barely touches upon ways of going about said reparations. Although he does state or at least imply that the primary point (or aim) of his article, is to enumerate the list of injustices faced by the blacks at the hands of the white populace, and not to advocate any particular means of reparations; such an article without any means or ways of ensuing actions to resolve, defeats the purpose of presenting one in the first place. This he further concedes by hinting at the fact that teams of scholars, such as the HR 40, after heated debates and discussions, might find that America may never be able to repay the African American Community. Diagnosis And Therapeutic Strategies Of Ebola Virus From the first outbreak in DRC in 1976 to the recent epidemic in West Africa (2013 2015), there has been a considerable amount of research done to further the development of the diagnosis and therapeutic strategies of the Ebola virus. Methods for detecting the virus have improved drastically. From the initial stage of simply identifying the virusas a whole, diagnosis can now define the specific species of the virus. Diagnosis processes developed over the years are those that involve Cell Culture, AntibodyDetection, Protein Antigen Detection, Conventional RT PCR, and Real Time RT PCR, which is the current standard for EVD diagnosis. In terms of the therapeutic process, there is still no cure or vaccine that has been approved or cleared for use on human patients with EVD. The Circulatory System In The Human Heart The Circulatory System The circulatory system The circulatory system is a vast network of organs and vessels that is responsible for the flow of blood, nutrients, hormones, oxygen and other gases to and from cells. Without the circulatory system, the body would not be able to fight disease or maintain a stable internal environment such as proper temperature and pH known as homeostasis. (Live Science, 2017) Main keys roles The most important role of the cardiovascular system is maintaining a normal, healthy, balanced movement. The cardiovascular system is often called the blood vascular, or simply the circulatory system. It consists of the heart, and a closed system of vessels called arteries, veins, and capillaries. The Effect of exercise on the heart Your heart pumps blood at a fast pace to pump extra food and oxygen to the muscles. When, you exercise your body, has to pumps more blood. This is because when you exercise, the cells that are in your muscles need more energy to move. Your muscles get this energy from respiration. This chemical reaction uses up oxygen to release energy from glucose. This then travels in the blood, so if your muscles need more oxygen and glucose, they get it from the blood. The Daughter of Time, by Josephine Tey proves this exact notion; that in actuality, what may have been relayed to us historically may not have been the entire truth, but who are we to claim that or disprove such things? Companies saw the Hispanic radio as a loss rather than an unopened door to a loyal public in not only the states, but all the way to many Mexican border cities.
