In The Brain Romantic Love Addiction Summary
In the article, In the Brain, Romantic Love Is Basically an Addiction, by Helen Fisher, she states
that a love addiction is the same as any other addiction, but it is a positive addiction. Fisher is
claiming that not all addictions are negative and can be harmful to that person and some can
become a positive more happy experience. A loveaddiction is the same as any other addictions
including the same symptoms. In the article, In the Brain, Romantic Love Is Basically an
Addiction, by Helen Fisher, in paragraph 6, Helen Fisher stated, Love besotted men and women
show all the basic symptoms of addiction. Fisher is explaining that the addiction of love makes men
and women act the same as any other drug/alcohol addiction. In the article,

Native American Blindness
This disease is one of the most used disease due to the product being developed for it and the
product actually being able to help restore the condition back to normal. Currently the Argus II is
also being tested for people with more common conditions like age related eye vision loss.
Even though the pictures patients saw that were produced by the artificial eye were way far from
being the ideal type to call someone not blind, they did let the patient see clear enough to allow
them to recognize faces who they would otherwise not be able to see. This breakthrough in the
bionic eyes is going to benefit lots of patients with common blindness, macular degeneration, all
which affect around 500,000 people in the USA. The Argus II a kind of retinal... Show more

If humans can restore the full sight to a blind person what can they do to a person who is not
blind and is capable of normal sight. The possibilities are endless as many things can be done
and many doctors are foreshadowing them as possibilities. A future where having bionic eyes
would make you superhuman? How? Well, light comes in different wavelengths and humans
can only see the visible spectrum made of colored light. If a bionic eye could let us see the
entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to gamma waves we d be able to see heat,
identify types of gases by sight, and even look through walls. In a future of humans with a
computer in their eyes bionic eyes will be an ongoing topic of the future. With a camera as an
eye, humans will be able to do things like: zoom in and out like a camera lens, have UV vision,
record what we see, and even automatically be able to sync it to the net with our Wi Fi connected
eyes. This is all just speculation but there s no denying that this type of technology as innovative
as it is, is going to turn science fiction into reality one day. Having bionic eyes will open up a
broad array of applications in multiple fields such as studying microbes without having to carry
all the equipment needed to see under the microscope, soldiers will be able to detect mines in a
field, airports will be able to make their security stronger and more secure as

The Doctrine Of Precedent And How It Operates Within A...
1.Explain the doctrine of precedent and how it operates within a criminal court hierarchy. (3 marks)
The doctrine of precedent is the principle in which judges follow when deciding the results of
cases. This principle ensures that the law is applied consistently across matters, sometimes
applying past reasoning from similar cases. Some courts are bound to follow the doctrine of
precedents if a similar case was tried in a higher court. Generally, the High Court of Australia has
precedence over all courts (Federal, Supreme, District, Local etc.) and is not bound to follow the
decisions made in these lower courts.
2.Briefly describe the following court hearings and explain their main purpose:
a)A jury trial
Jury trials are held in District or Supreme Courts. These trials are used to ensure that people that
are not influenced by the government and power can have their say in the verdict of a defendant.
The jury is a selection of people that are chosen to attend a case and listen to evidence to make
determinations on questions of fact. The judge then takes the jury s decision into account when
deciding the defendant s verdict.
b) A committal hearing
Committal hearings are only held for some indictable offences (such as manslaughter or aggravated
burglary). P. Salmelainen (1992) suggests that committal hearings are used to determine whether
there is enough evidence to warrant the accused being sent to stand trial. These hearings are often
held in local courts until the

Wes Anderson Research Paper
They re many renowned filmmakers these days. You have Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese,
Quentin Tarantino, Ridley Scott, James Cameron, and this list goes on and on. Though these
filmmakers are at the top of the food chain in their respective works, some of their works aren t
all distinguishable. Every year Hollywood produces many films that all look the same. What I
mean to say is: when you watch a movie made by one of the figures mentioned above, you can t
always tie that movie to them. Oh that s a Steven Spielberg movie isn t a given all the time. The
reason I say this is because there s one prominent filmmaker that you can always tie movies to,
Wes Anderson. When you watch one of Anderson s films, you immediately know he was the
director behind the piece. The real question is: how can you know? What makes him stand out
from the rest? The answer? His stylistic technique. Wes Anderson s stylistic technique is unique.
He repeatedly uses the same characters in his films, he emphasizes and contrasts when it comes to
his use of color, all of his films have similar themes, his use of symmetry is present everywhere,
and he uses music to fit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether it be The Grand Budapest Hotel, or The Life Aquatic, Anderson loves to compose his
shots with perfect symmtery, which allows for his images to appear satisfyingly inviting, and box
like. Though directors are taught to avoid symmetry due to it s stage y nature, Anderson
consistently organizes the elements in his frame so that the most important element is smack in the
middle, which is a major component in making his films distinct. Wes Anderson acquired this trait
from his inspiration, Stanley Kubrick. Stanley Kubrick, just like Wes Anderson, would compose
most of his shots using one point perspective. The use of symmetry is what allows Anderson s
films to look different from other films made by other

The Origins and History of Yoga
The origins of yoga date back to India over 5,000 years ago. The Vedas, holy writings that are the
foundation for Hinduism, possess ancient yoga teachings known as Vedic Yoga. Individuals
became reliant on Vedic yoga to live their life in divine harmony.
The period of Pre classical Yoga coincides with the development of the Upanishads. The Upanishads
fortified the writings of the Vedas, therefore strengthening the practice of yoga. The history of yoga
has been widely associated with not only Hinduism but Buddhism as well. Siddharta Gautama,
the enlightened one, founder of Buddhism understood the benefits that yoga provided for
meditation. The goal of Buddhism is to find inner peace, which yoga assisted in. In other
regions, the ruins of the immense cities of Mohenjo Daro and Harappa, depictions have been
found engraved on soapstone seals that strongly resemble figures of yoga poses. Bhavagad Gita,
is the earliest known yoga scripture dated back to around 500 B.C. The Gita is dedicated entirely
to yoga, its main aim is that to be alive means to be active and in order to avoid difficulties in our
lives and in others, our actions have to benign and have to exceed our egos. Its connection to the
Upanishads is paralleled to the relationship between the Vedas and Upanishads, strengthening each
other s meaning. The classical period marks the establishment of the Yoga Sutra. Written by
Patanjali, around the second century, with the purpose to clarify and standardize

Central State University s Theatre Production Performed...
Metropolitan State University s Theatre Production performed, God s Country. This play was
written by Steven Dietz in 1988. It revolved around a white supremacist group called The Order.
This group was led by Robert Jay Matthews and during the presence of The Order, Matthews
organized the members to perform various illegal acts to earn money for the groups cause. The
illegal acts led to a court trial that occurs during the playbecause The Order, was being prosecuted
for the assassination of radio host, Alan Berg. During MSU Denver s production of God s Country,
the elements of the play that stood out the most were: the success of one particular character,
growing to dislike a character, and the small amount of props that were used.
On opening night of God s Country, produced by Metropolitan s Theatre, one character seemed to
be more successful than any of the other characters and that was the boy. The boy in this
production was portrayed by a girl, but gave an outstanding and very believable performance. At
the beginning of the play there was a scene where all the kids were playing recess games, but the
boy was so much more believable in this scene than any of the other characters. This girl was
dressed like a boy, no makeup, and her movements were so well performed to distinguish her true
self from the boy in which she played. It was so believable that for awhile, you were not quite sure
if this actress was either a younger boy or a student at MSU Denver.

The Financial Collapse Of The U.s. Economy
The financial collapse of the U.S. economy that occurred in 2008 created a foreclosure crisis that
resulted in thousands of homeowners losing their properties nationwide. This great recession
caused many homeowners to even lose their jobs, savings, and credit worthiness. Predatory lending
was a major contributing factor in these foreclosures.
Predatory loans are also known as sub prime loans. These products were created for savvy buyers
who could not qualify for traditional loans. Stated income loans were very popular with self
employed buyers. Another popular loan was the no income/no asset loan where the buyer qualified
primarily based on his/ her work history and credit. These loans were often called liar loans .

Some lenders would waive the pre payment penalty only if they were the original lender and the
borrower(s) refinanced the loan with them. Due to changes in mortgage guidelines and regulations,
pre payment penalties are no longer allowed with conforming and government loans.
Presently, there are a few options that are available to foreclosure victims in order for these
victims to become potential boomerang buyers . The first option a buyer has is the Cash Option
. Those who have it only need to find a property they can afford. The rent to own option can be a
viable option for buyers if they can find a property with reasonable terms and conditions. In today
s market, there are not many rent to own listings available in the Washington, D.C., Maryland,
and Virginia area. Most sellers would prefer to sell their property quickly unless they are an
investor who is looking for rental income. This, however, may not be the case across the nation. A
buyer needs to be credit worthy to qualify for a property using the rent to own option.
If the buyer s offer is accepted, there is a lease agreement for one year or more, with the purchase
option at the end of the lease term. A sales price may be decided upon at the beginning of the
agreement or at the end of the lease. Seller financing is another optional choice for the buyer. Seller
financing consists of the seller agreeing to a short term loan that balloons at the specified term of

has really attempted to do something new. Taking everything into consideration, will players find
this new game to be a bountiful affair?
Pirates Island Review
Pirates Island is one of the many slot machines developed and created by iSoftBet. It s pretty
obvious right from the get go what the theme of the game is, as the background features a pretty
pile of shiny treasure. It s not that subtle and the game looks like it could be set almost anywhere
on the Caribbean Sea during the Golden Age of Piracy. The game is clearly set in the age where
the greatest pirates of all time sailed the seven seas, took what they wanted, and lived the pirate
life to its fullest. The game looks pretty good visually, especially when compared to the other
pirates inspired slot machines. However, while it may look the real deal, the big question is, does
it play better? Read on to find out!

find themselves a little disappointed by the lack of features found in other games. Some may
even consider this an advantage, as the game doesn t end up becoming too complicated and it s

events. Although the promotional events succeeded, they continued to look for more. This year
Pirate Concessions wanted to try another promotional event, they went for something that they
call the meal deal . The meal deal is two dollars to upgrade a regular entree to an entree with a
drink and chips. All of their entrees are two dollars to two fifty, with chips being one dollar, and
a drink being one fifty, some meals without the meal deal turn out to be five dollars. With the
meal deal the customer can save from fifty cents which the employees strongly encourage them
to use in the candy department, all the way to a dollar which again employees push the candy or
a popcorn to finish off their meal. After a few games management was going to get rid of the
meal deal and try some other type of promotional event. But the meal deal seemed to be a big hit
with all of their customers, so they turned this special event into something they use every game.
Now whenever a customer orders an entree employees always ask if they want to upgrade to the
meal deal which in turn helps without

Automotive Technician
There are millions of automotive vehicles racing on the roads everywhere. Besides that, there are
numerous automotive manufacturers and new types of vehicles such as hybrids and full electric,
which make each vehicle technologically different from another. Naturally, a different skill set and
knowledge base is required to repair each automobile.
With time and use, cars tend to wear out and have diverse problems. This is where the role of an
automotive technician begins. They are not only responsible for identifying the specific causes of
problems in automobiles but also for correcting the problems through diagnosis and repair.
They help prolong the life of a vehicle and improve its efficiency by using specialized tools and

Technologies used in different vehicles are evolving with high tech computer and safety systems
as well as power plants for electric and hybrid cars. As new technologies develop, there is more of a
need for specialized technicians to diagnose and repair vehicles with hi tech systems.
Due to a shortage of highly skilled automotive technicians, unparalleled opportunities are in store
for specialized automotive technicians to work and develop within the automotive repair field.
Employment shortages in other fields in some cases have been outsourced, but automotive repair is
one that can t be outsourced. Opportunities to work with dealers and repair facilities should be
readily available for many years to come for a specialized automotive technician with the proper
training and certification!
One doesn t necessarily have to be a graduate or a postgraduate in order to work as a general
automotive technician. You can begin your career during high school by joining the training
programs popularly offered to students. It will give you a basic know how about cars, their parts
and systems. Therefore, by the time you graduate high school, you may already be earning money
and will be skilled enough to start working at a larger company that will present more opportunity.

Detection Of P And T
Detection of P and T Waves in ECG Signal
Abstract Electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis plays vital role in diagnosis of heart diseases. In order
to avoid erroneous conclusions, it is of utmost importance that all the features of ECG waveform
are extracted accurately and only sinus rhythms are present in the ECG Signal. Significant features
of the ECG include the P wave, the QRS Complex, and the T wave. Determining the position of P
wave and T wave is a complicated task due to low amplitude. In this paper simple Low pass
differentiation (LPD) based method is proposed for estimation of P and T wave. Locating all the
features accurately is essential for the performance of other ECG processing such as signal
Analysis, Diagnosis, Authentication and Identification. Performance evaluation of this algorithm is
done on recorded ECG signals by holter recorder and MIT BIH database. Validation of proposed
algorithm indicates that it performs satisfactorily with approximate accuracy of 92.46 %.
Keywords: ECG, P wave, T wave, QRS Complex, Digital Filter.
I. INTRODUCTION
The electrocardiogram (ECG) is an important tool for providing information about functional
status of the heart. Analysis of ECG is of great importance in the detection of cardiac
abnormalities. The ECG is characterized by a recurrent wave sequence of P, QRS and T wave
associated with each beat. The QRS complex is the most striking waveform, caused by ventricular

The Fall And Rise Of Strategic Planning
In his article, The Fall and Rise of Strategic Planning, Henry Mintzberg (1994) provides his views
on the process of strategic planning. He offers that most companies and organizations start a
strategic planning process with little understanding of the definition or actual purpose of planning.
He tends to admonish much of the conventional understanding concerning strategic planningand
proposes his interpretations. He states that the most successful strategies are visions, not plans
(Mintzberg, 1994, p. 107). Mintzberg further states that the strategy making process should include
summarizing the data that the manager has acquired from all sources and then synthesizing that
data into a vision of the path which the company should follow (Mintzberg, 1994). He continues
his ideas by stating that Planners should make their contribution around the strategy making
process rather than inside it (Mintzberg, 1994, p. 108). He believes that the planner should not be
the one creating the plan, but rather the one who supplies the needed analysis, or data, to the
strategic thinkers. An analogy that comes to mind is in my previous job whereby the exceptions
processing representatives were a type of advanced data entry representatives. Not only would they
extrapolate the data received, but they were also required to forward it to the proper department for
processing. They did not make any decision on how to use the data, but instead, directed that data to

An Analysis Of Some Lessons From The Assembly Line
In his article, Some Lessons From The Assembly Line Braaksma (2005) asserts that the typical
college student feels that their college education should be tailored to their sensibilities for
scheduling as well as the expectation of outputs. Not knowing how easily one s fortunes can be
reversed, Braaksma s peers moved through their educationwith the belief they were above the daily
struggles commonly seen in the blue collar workforce. Instead of learning the value of hard work,
the modern attitude seems to be one of entitlement of all things with little to no effort. One almost
gets the sense that the work ethicof today s youth has suffered due to the relative ease required to
perform most summer or part time jobs. The main theme of the article, that a strong work ethic is
an asset to future endeavors, is persuasive because it highlights the importance of an understanding
of the intrinsic value of an education, comprehension of the uncertainty the job market, and the
satisfaction of a job well done.

underlying value of a college education. Working in a variety of factory jobs during his summer

World War 1 Alliance System Essay
World War One was a devastating war, killing millions between the years 1914 and 1918. It is to
a considerable extent that the alliance system was the main cause of World War One as it
dramatically turned a conflict from being regional to global, resulting in a World War. Similarly,

Other factors such as nationalism were partly responsible as this caused Archduke Franz Ferdinand

Compare And Contrast Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address
Lincoln s presidency is typically characterized by the abolition of slavery. While important, it often
overshadows other objectives he had for the country. After Lincoln issued The Emancipation
Proclamation, he had new plans for America. Lincoln weaved rhetorical strategies into his second
inaugural address to promote his vision for the future of the nation. As Civil War was nearing an
end, Lincoln s goal was to create a unified nation of peace. He hoped the Union and Confederacy
could put aside their differences and hatreds and reestablish harmony.
The differences between the North and South were extreme. Lincoln s goal was to show that the
Union and Confederacy had similarities that could foster peace between them. First he contrasted
the two, saying the North aimed to save the Union, while the south aimed to destroy it. He also
contrasted their belief of slavery on a federal level. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

them, since many people bond over shared religious beliefs. Lincoln also used biblical references
to give an explanation of why peace was possible. By the will of the Almighty, the Civil War was
a necessary woe to compensate for the offense of slavery. The conflict over slavery was the cause
of the war and the cause of the nation s internal chaos. However, The Emancipation Proclamation
ended the offense and ended the initial conflict. Lincoln believed this meant the United States
could reunify. His reasoning promoted his peaceful vision of the future, since slavery had ended,

With my experience so far on that unit, one the barrier of interdisciplinary team work is that, it
involve so many aspects of hospital bureaucracy and protocols to follow which can cause delays in
patient care. For example, sometime l will get a direct admission to the floor and the patient will be
complaining of pain but the attending physician has not put orders in the system yet. According to
the hospital policy, I needed to call the doctor put the order in and incase the patient have a pressure
ulcer, I will call the wound care nurse to come and assess the patient also. I understand that all this
policies is to protect patient safety, but so many times l would page the doctor and he would take
hours to respond. With this various protocol, it is causing delay to attend to patient needs. Working
in collaboration with other healthcare professionals; involve a lot of time consuming, which is
affecting patients to get care in time. Miscommunication between interdisciplinary teams is another
barrier that is affecting effective health care delivery. A smooth communication between healthcare
professionals would increase quality health care and safety. If there are problems in how healthcare

In order to determine and analyse data for the structure and the functional of biological molecules
and also specific biological problems, with this tool and computational techniques, it enables
researchers to analyse the information that is associated with biomolecules on a wider scale
through the computer databases that is based on existing data (1).
Bioinformatics can be described as a dry practical lab work. With the use of computers, it has
become one of the easiest ways in predicting the possible outcomes of the lab experiment, and
most importantly, plays an essential role in modern biology. This helps researchers to have an idea
of the biological data that is available and the vital role in the discovery of the new biological
relationships (2). By using these tools that are available, bioinformaticians are required to
familiarise themselves with the nucleotide and protein sequence that is being analysed, the possible
mutations and motifs etc.
Familiarising with structure and functions of proteins is vital in being able to manipulate it and
employ the DNA, and working with it. Nowadays, science and technology is slowly advancing

Ethnic and Class Conflicts in Turkestan Essay
Despite the fact that the Russian mobilization of human and material sources during World War I
impressed for its self discipline, there was a considerable crisis in manipulating the civil industry.
Russia concentrated its main workforce on the military munitions, therefore, the railway system
paralysed, which meant a fail in militarytransportation. Administration needed to do something to
compensate the labour shortage. The problem was solved, though not decisively; by the issuing of
decree to conscribe a local tuzemcy for defence works. The local population of Central Asiastarted

This essay will attempt to emphasize the possible reasons of the rebellion and the motives of the
rebels of 1916 revolt in different areas, mainly in Turkestan and Semirechie oblast, providing deep
analysis of the primary and secondary sources.
At the beginning of the rebel of 1916 was considered as a minor one by Russian authorities. In
reality, it led to prolonged consequences. Question on whether the suppression of a revolt was
prepared or not is a source for debate amongst historians. While some of them seem to have
reasonable arguments on the preparedness of the Tsarist administration, others try to persuade the
contrary. The Ryskulov`s work Vosstanie Kirgizov i Kazakhov v 1916 godu. Sbornik Materialov

already planned. Ryskulov interprets a detailed analysis of business correspondence between the
General Governors of Turkestan and Semirechie Oblast` Folbaum and Kuropatkin, who were
corresponding on the plan of suppression. He claims that Kuropatkin has already prepared a plan
for the suppression before the rebel had started and accuses Folbaum of making an account to
military forces and of arranging military force in places where Kazakh Kyzgyzs might escape.
Ryskulov argues that arming the local Russian settlers with weapon (rifle) was a demonstration of

Adrienne Clarkson Belonging And Identity Analysis
Migration and Multiculturalism those two words have a deep meaning and purpose to belonging
and identity. I have never taken those two words and connected them with belonging and
identity, until now. Who would have ever thought about how it would feel to leave your country,
home, where you felt safe, knew you belonged and knew what your identity is. To instead
entering a whole new country or in another sense a whole new world, it would be intimidating
and hard to grasp. You would have to relearn what; your identity is and where you belong. In a
way, it is almost like learning to tie your shoes. In chapter one Adrienne Clarkson talks about
belonging and identity, using a man named Martin to explain how someone s idea of belonging
and identity can change in a second. While Walter Johnson talks about the impact of leaving all
you know to come to a whole new world where it can have a large impact on who you thought you
were. Clarkson and Johnson are almost a contradiction on belonging and identity. In the sense that
they both define and explain belonging and identity differently. Clarkson... Show more content on

feel you belong for who you are. As Clarkson explains it takes relationships to help show
someone where they belong. It does not matter if you come from a different country or culture, it
matters where you are now and how you can use your identity and belong from your first home
to create a new sense of belonging and allow multiculturalism. Belonging and Identity of meaning

that have migrated or been forced out of their homes. Reason being everyone must learn a new

Essay On Intimate Enemies
Intimate Enemies, (L Ennemi intime), a French war film based on the Algerian war, presents a
convincing portrayal of the psychological trauma of French soldiers fighting against Algerian
insurgents. This movie reminded me of the barbarity of war and its detrimental effects on the
people involved.
The movie takes place in the remote and mountainous regions of Algeria in 1959 where the French
army is fighting with the Fellagha (Algerian insurgents). The soldiers there are joined by Lieutenant
Terrien who is a new, naГЇve and idealistic officer. Terrien quickly faces events that challenge his
moral beliefs such as village massacres, prisoner tortures and shooting of civilians. Initially he

Terrien states that if an order is morally unacceptable, then you should refuse it sir. The captain
counters that the FLN uses vile methods too, similar to how people were treated in Vietnam. He
contends that the warfare in Vietnam and Algeria was less military but more psychological.
Interestingly, Terrien responds by questioning the nature of Algeria with regards to France. If
Algeria is France, then why are Algerians not treated equally as French citizens? The captain
replies, You ll come around, just like we all did. The nature and system of the conflict was the
issue, not the actual atrocities committed by both sides. Those wrongful attacks or methods were
results of the main political differences of the French and Algerians. For me, I wonder if France
truly tried to assimilate Algeria and give Algerians the same citizenship and rights as Frenchmen,
would the FLN be this violent and adamant about independence? It was clear in this movie (and in
Battle of Algiers) that the FLN initially was a minority in Algeria but due to French
counterinsurgency, the majority decided to pick the lesser of two

Pursuing A Painting Class

an art credit to fulfill my General Education. As I looked through the list I saw classes such as Art
History, Intro to Visual Arts, and Painting. I wanted to take an art class that I would find interesting

school a lot, I have some background in it, maybe I will like it! In a way, I was right. I learned a

paintings but was always similar for each. I had many challenges this semester while painting.
At first I struggled with color mixing. It was hard for me to find the right pigments to mix in
order to find the exact color that I could visually see on the object. The first painting was a big
trial for me and color mixing. I also struggled with finding the exact shape and size of the object
in the sketching phase. I found myself redoing a lot of my sketching. As I got through these
smaller struggles at the beginning of the semester, I began coming across bigger and harder
struggles to overcome. One of these struggles came in the last set of paintings we did. I found
these paintings to be the most difficult, as they should be. I feel like I could never make my figure
painting look as if it was standing at the right angle that I was seeing it. It took me a long time to
figure out how to position the arms and legs to get an angle that was close enough for the good of
the painting. Secondly, I struggled with the proportions and colors of my nose on

The Taj Mahal is the most famous example of Mughal architecture. The Taj Mahal is a complex of
structures which include a mausoleum containing the tombs of the Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal.
It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal after her death. Taj Mahal

Public Relations Tactics for New Balance
1.The case reports on New Balance s strengths and weaknesses in terms of CSR. If you headed
public relations for the company, what PR tactics (aside from the CSR Report) would you
undertake to promote New Balance s many good deeds and practices?
New Balance (NB) had some great deeds and practices to flaunt on, specifically in the four
categories of overall governance, community support, operations and products and services. New
Balance was also an industry leader in many of the initiatives they took and were ranked fourth
largest footwear brand in the world. (2010, Dr. Veleva.V. New Balance Developing an Integrated
CSR strategy. Page 14.) However, they have been rather shy/reluctant about talking about their
various initiatives they have implemented. In fact, their employees were also not completely aware
of what the organization was doing from a CSR standpoint. If I headed public relations for the
company, I would use tactics and strategies that targeted both internally and externally to promote
the various good deeds/doings of the company. I have explained on them below:
Internal: First, I would target our employees, as I believe employees to be spokespeople for the
company. Imparting the good deeds of the CSR doings would boost employee morale, engage or
be part of the deeds and they would like to talk about it, as they are feeling good about themselves
and the company. Some of the tactics I would use for communication are:

Lord Of The Flies Society Analysis
Lord of the Flies
In life, there are a lot of things that hold people back from doing what they want to do. One of
the major things is the laws of society. William Golding s novel, Lord of the flies, illustrates what
would happen without society. After the plane crashes on the abandoned island during World War
Two, a group of british boys are left alone to survive and fight for their ife. When the boys are first
dropped off on the island, they still have their civilized behavior with them. It changes significantly
throughout the novel. Goldings intentions in writing the novel is to show how men are born evil but
rely on society to be kept in check. Without the necessary structure for everyday life that the
industrialized world provides the boys find that, with the lack of punishment or consequences for
their actions, why not do whatever they want. Losing all care of responsibility and only care about
providing themselves personal gratification. They ate most of the day, picking fruit wherever they
could reach it and not particular about ripeness or quality. They were used now to stomach aches
and a form of chronic diarrhea. Apart from food and sleep, they only found time to play, aimless
and trivial, in the white sand by the bright water. This passage conveys the lack of motivation that
the boys have. It presents them as lazy and unambitious, having adapted to their current
environment and have no internal conflict or problems with being stuck on a deserted

Analysis of the Setting in August Wilson s Fences
American Lit: Choices and Voices
Helen Li
October 18, 2017
The Setting in Fences
Fences written by August Wilson was focused on the life of Troy Maxson, an African American
full of harshness towards the society because of the barriers he had to face in life back in the 1950
s. The title Fences reflects the book s story and overall symbol. The setting is used as a frame to the
message and metaphorical meaning of the book. Troy struggles to define his rights and
responsibilities as a husband, brother, worker, friend and father through the complex symbolism of
the settings.
August Wilson uses the symbol of a fence in this book on different occasions. Throughout the play,

Troy is not invisible, but he builds himself up to be. He kept saying that he could always hit a
homerun off when playing a game when he was younger. Troy uses the idea of baseballto almost
taunt death, daring the evil to fight him. Troy is characterized as seeing himself as unhuman and
extremely powerful. Troy don t want to let death come with ease, and always uses his former
baseball skill to try to show that he can beat death. Troy relates most of the components in his
life to baseball, because he felt baseball makes him more comfortable. This is also the reason
why he put the setting of baseball in the back of the yard, it is to remind him that he is strong
enough to protect the family and himself, and reinforces his ego using his skill with baseball. The
setting of a rundown house in a poor neighborhood gives the impression of their struggle to
survive as African Americans. The shabbiness of the exterior suggests their low social status. A
relatively recent addition to the house and running its full width, the porch lacks congruence. It is
a sturdy porch with a flat roof. One or two chairs of dubious value sit at one end where the kitchen
window opens on to the porch. An old fashioned ice box stands silent guard at the opposite end
(Wilson, setting description). While the newly added porch may represent an attempt to

Importance Of English In Kenya
Most people who think of English will agree that it is one of the most diverse forms of
communication. A hybrid made of various words and phrases from other cultures, it is commonly
considered a lingua franca and is used to bring those various cultures together. But in some ~ cases,
English is not being used to bring the people together, but rather deliberately split them apart. Such
a case has been occurring in Kenya, where the usage of English has become an underhanded tool to
partition the power between the elites and the commoners.
Kenya is an Outer Circle country, which means that the use of English is the result of colonization
and has become ingrained in society and daily life as an important function. In Kenya s case,

Though English has many uses, and plays important roles, it has also been used as ulterior means to

Industrial Melanism Of Biston Betularia
Industrial Melanism of Biston Betularia or the Peppered Moth in England has been a textbook
example of natural selection since it was first noticed. Before the industrial revolution the peppered
moth was most commonly found in the light colored Typica variety. During the industrial
revolution there was a significant rise in the dark Carbonaria form and a slight rise in the
intermediate Insularia form. Beginning in 1970 the Typica variety has been returning to the
common variety of peppered moth. This change has been assumed to be caused by increased
predation on moths that did not blend into the bark on trees (Cook et al 2012). Before the
industrial revolution the trees were light colored and covered in lichens and the Typica variety
blended in well. The Carbonaria variety did not blend in and was naturally selected against by
birds praying on them. During the industrial revolution the trees became darker due to soot and the
lichens died. In this new environment Carbonaria had better camouflage and the Typica was
naturally selected against. Since modern laws have cleaned up the air the trees are lighter again
and the Typica variety is again being positively selected (Kettlewell 1956). Melanismis a heritable
trait that is dominant for Carbonaria and recessive for Typica. There is another allele that is on
the same locus for melanism. This allele forms the Insularia variety and is recessive to the
Carbonaria allele and dominant to the Typica allele (Cook et al 2012). Because

Sartre Escapism
In Sartre s The Transcendence of the Ego, Sartre describes a part of the ego called the I, and
implies that utilizing this part of the ego is a form of escapism . This is because Sartre describes
the I as a form of transcendental form of thought, from which we produce and observe fantasies.
It is, as if consciousness constituted the ego as a false representation of itself, as if
consciousness hypnotized itself before this ego which it has constituted (Sartre, pg. 89). So the I
creates a false representation of consciousness in order to escape from the real consciousness.
The I is also a consciousness that thinks about itself. So, if one understands the I Think so as to
make of thought a production of the I, one has already constituted thought as passivity and as
state, that is to say, as object (Sartre, pg. 89). So not only can the I create fantasies, or false
realities, but it can make them real enough to reflect on the false realities. With this regard, the
consciousness focuses on observing and thinking about the realities that the I has created instead of
the actual reality, and as such the I can be described as a farm of escapism. 2.Sartre seems to think
that consciousness has two parts. First, he thinks that there exists a completely free... Show more

It is vital to pack the sample tightly in the melting point capillary, to allow good heat transfer from

nights and mornings through bad weather? It could be your family hurt or even you. Newman
states, Rich or poor and all do right, for nobody owes public duty to pay more than the laws
demand (1). Visualize how the world would be then. People would then start war between one
another. Taking other people things would be so powerful. No one would understand the world
we would live in.Killing would then be a big prohibit, think about the elders some cannot receive
their income. They would not have any help paying hospital bills, or cannot get their treatments.
By any means, this shows no matter which you are taxes could hurt you. Income taxes would be
lower for people, and it would not be as high it is today. When taxes hurt people, it that means it
is hurting you too.On the other hand, hurting the country is another way taxes could hurt. Taxes
hurt the country by increasing the interest rate. The country will be falling, and the states will
feel as they are in war. Pologeogis says to avoid taxation in more than one location or country,
businesses do careful tax planning that takes into consideration no country taxation (1).
Countries would not be able to get as much done and paid for, prices would go up and people
would be able to get as much. The country will then have to focus on whether the high should be
taxed a higher or low rate then they are today. Also the argument of high rates is that income
inequality would be at extremely high levels and by then the government will be focus on
redistribution. In many words Helvering stated , anyone may so arrange his affairs that his taxes
shall be as low as

The Moral Principle Of The Right
The moral principle of the right to die, is a way of thinking where a human being has the choice
to end their life on their own terms. The right to die, also known as physician assisted suicide, is
heavily contemplated in patients who are diagnosed as terminally ill. Being diagnosed as
terminally ill may come at any point in one s life. Once a patient is given this news it puts a
greater weight on their shoulders as now they must adjust to accommodate a new reality. Many
patients fear that their near future will consist of becoming a burden to their family members
financially as well as mentally, since they may not be able to afford the medical bills. Those who
are terminally ill may worry that they are not going to be able to control their level of pain when it
worsens as their physical condition deteriorates. With the diagnosis of a terminal disease many
believe what follows will be unnecessary suffering that is brought on by the symptoms, many of
which individuals would avoid at all costs. Currently there are only four states that have the Right
to Die Law enacted; California, Oregon, Washington, and Vermont. Within these states patients
have the option of physician assisted suicide, if their medical condition meets certain requirements
to obtain this option. Terminally ill patients who live outside of these four states do not have the
option of physician assisted suicide available to them. In this position paper I argue, that enacting a

Family The Taino Indians had sturdy familial ties and related families lived together. They lived
in very organized kingdoms and small villages, their order was decided by the chiefs. The Taino
s appearance was bronze colored, average height, dark, flowing coarse hair, and dark and
slightly oblique dark eyes. The men were typically naked or sported a breech cloth called nagua.
Single women walked around naked, while married women wore an apron made of cotton or
palm fibers to cover their genitalia. The length of the apron determined their rank size. The
Taino culture was a polygamous one. The male cacique as the leader was permitted to have
more wives than the other men in the villages. A woman whom was married to a cacique was
considered a great honor. Church Among the Taino community, there was a hierarchy of creators.
The Yocahu was the highest creator. Jurakan was constantly angry and governed the power of
the hurricane. Other Gods were the Zemi and Maboya. The Zemis was a God of both sexes and it
was characterized by images of human and animal figures. The Taino s thought that by being in the
good graces of their zemis, they were sheltered from disease, hurricanes, or war disasters. As an
offering, they would prepared cassava bread. The Maboyas were nocturnal Gods that ruined crops
and were feared among the Tainos. Thus, they offered detailed contributions to satisfy him. Polity

Characters And Evil In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
In the beginning of William Golding s novel Lord of the Flies , readers meet four young boys
from ages 11 13 who have been stranded on a deserted island with no adults after a flight from
home. Readers come to understand the relationship between Ralph, Jack, Simon and Piggy get
complicated and violent once all laws and rules have disappeared by the end of the novel, 2 boys
are dead and the have changed dramatically. In his Nobel Prize acceptance speech for the novel,
Golding stated that, ... men produce evil as bees produce honey. His statement is that Golding
believes that human nature is automatically evil; he is right.
Golding s view is that evil exists in all humans from birth; he is right. In the lord of the flies the
author shows this clearly. They re all dead, said Piggy, an this is an island. Nobody don t know
we re here. Your dad don t know, nobody don t know His lips quivered and the spectacles
dimmed with mist. we may stay here till we die . ( 14 )This passage says Piggy is doubting
about being rescue. When he says, they re all dead, he is referring to the people who were in the
airplane with them before they ended up in the island. When Golding writes that Piggy s lips
quivered, this shows us that piggy is afraid. This matters to the central idea of human nature
because there s fear in the boys.In the lord of the flies , the author reinforces this idea. If I blow
the conch and they don t come back; then we ve had it. We shan t keep the fire

Homelessness On The Rise Of Homelessness
Homelessness affects men, women, families, children, youth, and veterans. While structural factors,
like the unequal distribution of income and lack of affordable housing, cause homelessness, certain

mental illness, domestic violence, medical conditions, and lack of education or job skills. This

The Play “A Midsummer Night’S Dream” By William
Shakespeare
The play A Midsummer Night s Dream by William Shakespeare offers a wonderful contrast in
human mentality. Shakespeare provides insight into man s conflict with the rational versus
emotional characteristics of human behavior. Athens represents the logical side, with its
flourishing government and society. The fairy woods represents the wilder, irrational side where
nothing seems to follow any sort of structure. The character of Bottom the weaver is a direct
reflection of these two worlds. He brings the rational and irrational elements of the play together in
several ways. Nick Bottom is indeed one of Shakespeare s most memorable creations. He is first
introduced during the casting of Pyramus and Thisbe (1.2.253). Bottom is... Show more content on

Here he gives us insight into his own personality and almost seems to mock those in love. When
he says let the audience look to their eyes (1.2.20), he is directly touching on one of the themes
in the play: the use of one s eyes in love, which according to Bottom means that people do not use
their heads when in love and that it is an emotion merely based on superficialities. Whatever the
case may be, it is obvious that he is much more of a lover than a tyrant. Bottom proceeds to show
however, that one can love and be a tyrant at the same time. When he is transformed into the ass
and shares Titania s bower, it shows his marvelous adaptability to adapt immediately to whatever
life offers him. His energetic love of life, good nature and eager innocence obtains him this
entrance into the other world so different from his own. Perhaps he is not completely incapable
of feeling or understanding love. Starting from his position as a rock bottom realist, he can, with
the same vigor and joy he brings to whatever he does, respond to this power and believe. The
fantastically transformed Bottom, the least likely candidate for the position in the world before
his transformation, becomes a participator in the fairy world in the incredible role of being
Titania s lover. But we see thus that it was possible after all. He can, in sum, be both a lover and a
tyrant yet he knows that being in

Theme Of Social Class In The Outsiders
In The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, there are many important themes, including recognizing the
importance of family, understanding how social class can mold who you are as a person, and
facing challenges. The main characters in the novel faced challenges due to their circumstances
and social class. Through these challenges, they learned the importance of family and friends
and had to make mature decisions. By the end of the novel, Ponyboy especially, had grown up
staggeringly. Although Ponyboy has dealt with problems in his family and because of his low
social class he matured throughout the novel. The main theme of The Outsiders centers around
the importance of family. Ponyboy and his brothers made sacrifices for their family. Darry, the
eldest brother, had a chance to go to college and be successful, but he chose to take care of his
two brothers, Ponyboy and Sodapop. Family doesn t have to be blood. Johnny s parents abused
him, so he felt like the Greasers were more of family to him than his parents. The Greasers
supported, protected, and looked out for Johnny. The Socs, who are the Greasers biggest
enemies, turned to their gang for family too because the parents of the Socs only gave their
children money and didn t take care of them. Society and class was another big theme in The
Outsiders. Ponyboy was born into a low social class. His parents died, so he had to rely on his
brothers and the Greasers. They were poor and had to work to get basic needs like food and
water. Since the Greasers had a low social class they were looked down upon as trouble makers
even when they were being helpful. When Ponyboy and Johnny saved children out of a burning
church, it was written in the paper that juvenile delinquents had turned heros. The Socs on the
other hand had money. They fancy cars like Mustangs and Corvairs and wore nice clothes. They
were considered heroes even though they didn t do anything heroic. They caused trouble in the
neighborhood by throwing beer blasts and jumping Greasers. Society overlooked character due to
social class. Social classes limit people too. Darry, a Greaser and Paul, a Soc had the same qualities
to be successful and go to college. Darry however, was held back because

The Evil Character Of Iago
Evil has been portrayed throughout time in many ways. In Christian theology, it has been shown
through the character of Satan and his various sins. In Stephen King novels, it is portrayed
through the imagery provided by monsters and humans with cruel intentions. All these characters,
though different in many ways, all hold a similar trait, that they are aware of the evil nature and
how they represent a different nature to seem a certain way to others. They may portray
themselves as kind, caring, and honest when they are in fact, quite the opposite; cruel, dishonest
and malevolent. They also all have the power to be destructive, even if they do not have a direct
reason to, only their own desire to do so. While good is self producing and improving, evil is self
destructive and can only create evil. Iago, as an evil character, holds many similarities to other
wicked figures, and is sometimes seen as a satan like figure. Shakespeare uses the character of Iago
to display the different forms evil can take on such as being hidden behind false intentions, turning
into an image of good, and its destructive nature resulting into its own end.
In the beginning of the play, Iago is seen by other characters as a wholesome character, often
called Honest Iago due to his seemingly kind nature, though it is merely a mask his wickedness is
hidden behind. Iago, when speaking to Rodrigo about his honorable position, he reveals his true
intentions behind what he does in his position by saying,

Native American Blindness This disease is one of the most used disease due to the product being developed for it and the product actually being able to help restore the condition back to normal. Currently the Argus II is also being tested for people with more common conditions like age related eye vision loss. Even though the pictures patients saw that were produced by the artificial eye were way far from being the ideal type to call someone not blind, they did let the patient see clear enough to allow them to recognize faces who they would otherwise not be able to see. This breakthrough in the bionic eyes is going to benefit lots of patients with common blindness, macular degeneration, all which affect around 500,000 people in the USA. If humans can restore the full sight to a blind person what can they do to a person who is not blind and is capable of normal sight. The possibilities are endless as many things can be done and many doctors are foreshadowing them as possibilities. A future where having bionic eyes would make you superhuman? How? Well, light comes in different wavelengths and humans can only see the visible spectrum made of colored light. If a bionic eye could let us see the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to gamma waves we d be able to see heat, identify types of gases by sight, and even look through walls. In a future of humans with a computer in their eyes bionic eyes will be an ongoing topic of the future. With a camera as an eye, humans will be able to do things like: zoom in and out like a camera lens, have UV vision, record what we see, and even automatically be able to sync it to the net with our Wi Fi connected eyes. This is all just speculation but there s no denying that this type of technology as innovative as it is, is going to turn science fiction into reality one day. • 4. The Doctrine Of Precedent And How It Operates Within A... 1.Explain the doctrine of precedent and how it operates within a criminal court hierarchy. (3 marks) The doctrine of precedent is the principle in which judges follow when deciding the results of cases. This principle ensures that the law is applied consistently across matters, sometimes applying past reasoning from similar cases. Some courts are bound to follow the doctrine of precedents if a similar case was tried in a higher court. Generally, the High Court of Australia has precedence over all courts (Federal, Supreme, District, Local etc.) and is not bound to follow the decisions made in these lower courts. 2.Briefly describe the following court hearings and explain their main purpose: a)A jury trial Jury trials are held in District or Supreme Courts. These trials are used to ensure that people that are not influenced by the government and power can have their say in the verdict of a defendant. The jury is a selection of people that are chosen to attend a case and listen to evidence to make determinations on questions of fact. The judge then takes the jury s decision into account when deciding the defendant s verdict. b) A committal hearing Committal hearings are only held for some indictable offences (such as manslaughter or aggravated burglary). P. Salmelainen (1992) suggests that committal hearings are used to determine whether there is enough evidence to warrant the accused being sent to stand trial. These hearings are often held in local courts until the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You have Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Ridley Scott, James Cameron, and this list goes on and on. Though these filmmakers are at the top of the food chain in their respective works, some of their works aren t all distinguishable. Every year Hollywood produces many films that all look the same. What I mean to say is: when you watch a movie made by one of the figures mentioned above, you can t always tie that movie to them. Oh that s a Steven Spielberg movie isn t a given all the time. The reason I say this is because there s one prominent filmmaker that you can always tie movies to, Wes Anderson. When you watch one of Anderson s films, you immediately know he was the director behind the piece. The real question is: how can you know? What makes him stand out from the rest? The answer? His stylistic technique. Wes Anderson s stylistic technique is unique. It revolved around a white supremacist group called The Order. This group was led by Robert Jay Matthews and during the presence of The Order, Matthews organized the members to perform various illegal acts to earn money for the groups cause. The illegal acts led to a court trial that occurs during the playbecause The Order, was being prosecuted for the assassination of radio host, Alan Berg. During MSU Denver s production of God s Country, the elements of the play that stood out the most were: the success of one particular character, growing to dislike a character, and the small amount of props that were used. On opening night of God s Country, produced by Metropolitan s Theatre, one character seemed to be more successful than any of the other characters and that was the boy. The boy in this production was portrayed by a girl, but gave an outstanding and very believable performance. At the beginning of the play there was a scene where all the kids were playing recess games, but the boy was so much more believable in this scene than any of the other characters. In order to avoid erroneous conclusions, it is of utmost importance that all the features of ECG waveform are extracted accurately and only sinus rhythms are present in the ECG Signal. Significant features of the ECG include the P wave, the QRS Complex, and the T wave. Determining the position of P wave and T wave is a complicated task due to low amplitude. In this paper simple Low pass differentiation (LPD) based method is proposed for estimation of P and T wave. Locating all the features accurately is essential for the performance of other ECG processing such as signal Analysis, Diagnosis, Authentication and Identification. He offers that most companies and organizations start a strategic planning process with little understanding of the definition or actual purpose of planning. He tends to admonish much of the conventional understanding concerning strategic planningand proposes his interpretations. He states that the most successful strategies are visions, not plans (Mintzberg, 1994, p. 107). Mintzberg further states that the strategy making process should include summarizing the data that the manager has acquired from all sources and then synthesizing that data into a vision of the path which the company should follow (Mintzberg, 1994). He continues his ideas by stating that Planners should make their contribution around the strategy making process rather than inside it (Mintzberg, 1994, p. 108). He believes that the planner should not be the one creating the plan, but rather the one who supplies the needed analysis, or data, to the strategic thinkers. An analogy that comes to mind is in my previous job whereby the exceptions processing representatives were a type of advanced data entry representatives. To instead entering a whole new country or in another sense a whole new world, it would be intimidating and hard to grasp. You would have to relearn what; your identity is and where you belong. In a way, it is almost like learning to tie your shoes. In chapter one Adrienne Clarkson talks about belonging and identity, using a man named Martin to explain how someone s idea of belonging and identity can change in a second. While Walter Johnson talks about the impact of leaving all you know to come to a whole new world where it can have a large impact on who you thought you were. As Clarkson explains it takes relationships to help show someone where they belong. • 27. Essay On Intimate Enemies Intimate Enemies, (L Ennemi intime), a French war film based on the Algerian war, presents a convincing portrayal of the psychological trauma of French soldiers fighting against Algerian insurgents. This movie reminded me of the barbarity of war and its detrimental effects on the people involved. The movie takes place in the remote and mountainous regions of Algeria in 1959 where the French army is fighting with the Fellagha (Algerian insurgents). The soldiers there are joined by Lieutenant Terrien who is a new, naГЇve and idealistic officer. He contends that the warfare in Vietnam and Algeria was less military but more psychological. Interestingly, Terrien responds by questioning the nature of Algeria with regards to France. If Algeria is France, then why are Algerians not treated equally as French citizens? The captain replies, You ll come around, just like we all did. The nature and system of the conflict was the issue, not the actual atrocities committed by both sides. Those wrongful attacks or methods were results of the main political differences of the French and Algerians. For me, I wonder if France truly tried to assimilate Algeria and give Algerians the same citizenship and rights as Frenchmen, would the FLN be this violent and adamant about independence? It was clear in this movie (and in Battle of Algiers) that the FLN initially was a minority in Algeria but due to French counterinsurgency, the majority decided to pick the lesser of two ... After the plane crashes on the abandoned island during World War Two, a group of british boys are left alone to survive and fight for their ife. When the boys are first dropped off on the island, they still have their civilized behavior with them. It changes significantly throughout the novel. Losing all care of responsibility and only care about providing themselves personal gratification. They ate most of the day, picking fruit wherever they could reach it and not particular about ripeness or quality. They were used now to stomach aches and a form of chronic diarrhea. Apart from food and sleep, they only found time to play, aimless and trivial, in the white sand by the bright water. This passage conveys the lack of motivation that the boys have. Before the industrial revolution the peppered moth was most commonly found in the light colored Typica variety. During the industrial revolution there was a significant rise in the dark Carbonaria form and a slight rise in the intermediate Insularia form. Beginning in 1970 the Typica variety has been returning to the common variety of peppered moth. This change has been assumed to be caused by increased predation on moths that did not blend into the bark on trees (Cook et al 2012). Before the industrial revolution the trees were light colored and covered in lichens and the Typica variety blended in well. The Carbonaria variety did not blend in and was naturally selected against by birds praying on them. During the industrial revolution the trees became darker due to soot and the lichens died. In this new environment Carbonaria had better camouflage and the Typica was naturally selected against. This is because Sartre describes the I as a form of transcendental form of thought, from which we produce and observe fantasies. It is, as if consciousness constituted the ego as a false representation of itself, as if consciousness hypnotized itself before this ego which it has constituted (Sartre, pg. 89). So the I creates a false representation of consciousness in order to escape from the real consciousness. The I is also a consciousness that thinks about itself. So, if one understands the I Think so as to make of thought a production of the I, one has already constituted thought as passivity and as state, that is to say, as object (Sartre, pg. 89). So not only can the I create fantasies, or false realities, but it can make them real enough to reflect on the false realities. With this regard, the consciousness focuses on observing and thinking about the realities that the I has created instead of the actual reality, and as such the I can be described as a farm of escapism. 2.Sartre seems to think that consciousness has two parts. The Taino culture was a polygamous one. The male cacique as the leader was permitted to have more wives than the other men in the villages. A woman whom was married to a cacique was considered a great honor. Church Among the Taino community, there was a hierarchy of creators. The Yocahu was the highest creator. Jurakan was constantly angry and governed the power of the hurricane. Other Gods were the Zemi and Maboya. The Zemis was a God of both sexes and it was characterized by images of human and animal figures. The Taino s thought that by being in the good graces of their zemis, they were sheltered from disease, hurricanes, or war disasters. As an offering, they would prepared cassava bread. The Maboyas were nocturnal Gods that ruined crops and were feared among the Tainos. Thus, they offered detailed contributions to satisfy him. Polity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Readers come to understand the relationship between Ralph, Jack, Simon and Piggy get complicated and violent once all laws and rules have disappeared by the end of the novel, 2 boys are dead and the have changed dramatically. In his Nobel Prize acceptance speech for the novel, Golding stated that, ... men produce evil as bees produce honey. His statement is that Golding believes that human nature is automatically evil; he is right. Golding s view is that evil exists in all humans from birth; he is right. In the lord of the flies the author shows this clearly. They re all dead, said Piggy, an this is an island. Nobody don t know we re here. Your dad don t know, nobody don t know His lips quivered and the spectacles dimmed with mist. we may stay here till we die . ( 14 )This passage says Piggy is doubting about being rescue. When he says, they re all dead, he is referring to the people who were in the airplane with them before they ended up in the island. When Golding writes that Piggy s lips quivered, this shows us that piggy is afraid. This matters to the central idea of human nature because there s fear in the boys.In the lord of the flies , the author reinforces this idea. If I blow the conch and they don t come back; then we ve had it. We shan t keep the fire ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. The Play “A Midsummer Night’S Dream” By William Shakespeare The play A Midsummer Night s Dream by William Shakespeare offers a wonderful contrast in human mentality. Shakespeare provides insight into man s conflict with the rational versus emotional characteristics of human behavior. Athens represents the logical side, with its flourishing government and society. The fairy woods represents the wilder, irrational side where nothing seems to follow any sort of structure. The character of Bottom the weaver is a direct reflection of these two worlds. He brings the rational and irrational elements of the play together in several ways. Nick Bottom is indeed one of Shakespeare s most memorable creations. He is first introduced during the casting of Pyramus and Thisbe (1.2.253). Bottom is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here he gives us insight into his own personality and almost seems to mock those in love. When he says let the audience look to their eyes (1.2.20), he is directly touching on one of the themes in the play: the use of one s eyes in love, which according to Bottom means that people do not use their heads when in love and that it is an emotion merely based on superficialities. Whatever the case may be, it is obvious that he is much more of a lover than a tyrant. Bottom proceeds to show however, that one can love and be a tyrant at the same time. When he is transformed into the ass and shares Titania s bower, it shows his marvelous adaptability to adapt immediately to whatever life offers him. His energetic love of life, good nature and eager innocence obtains him this entrance into the other world so different from his own. Perhaps he is not completely incapable of feeling or understanding love. Starting from his position as a rock bottom realist, he can, with the same vigor and joy he brings to whatever he does, respond to this power and believe. The fantastically transformed Bottom, the least likely candidate for the position in the world before his transformation, becomes a participator in the fairy world in the incredible role of being Titania s lover. But we see thus that it was possible after all. He can, in sum, be both a lover and a tyrant yet he knows that being in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Theme Of Social Class In The Outsiders In The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, there are many important themes, including recognizing the importance of family, understanding how social class can mold who you are as a person, and facing challenges. The main characters in the novel faced challenges due to their circumstances and social class. Through these challenges, they learned the importance of family and friends and had to make mature decisions. By the end of the novel, Ponyboy especially, had grown up staggeringly. Although Ponyboy has dealt with problems in his family and because of his low social class he matured throughout the novel. The main theme of The Outsiders centers around the importance of family. Ponyboy and his brothers made sacrifices for their family. Darry, the eldest brother, had a chance to go to college and be successful, but he chose to take care of his two brothers, Ponyboy and Sodapop. Family doesn t have to be blood. Johnny s parents abused him, so he felt like the Greasers were more of family to him than his parents. The Greasers supported, protected, and looked out for Johnny. The Socs, who are the Greasers biggest enemies, turned to their gang for family too because the parents of the Socs only gave their children money and didn t take care of them. Society and class was another big theme in The Outsiders. Ponyboy was born into a low social class. His parents died, so he had to rely on his brothers and the Greasers. They were poor and had to work to get basic needs like food and water. Since the Greasers had a low social class they were looked down upon as trouble makers even when they were being helpful. When Ponyboy and Johnny saved children out of a burning church, it was written in the paper that juvenile delinquents had turned heros. The Socs on the other hand had money. They fancy cars like Mustangs and Corvairs and wore nice clothes. They were considered heroes even though they didn t do anything heroic. They caused trouble in the neighborhood by throwing beer blasts and jumping Greasers. Society overlooked character due to social class. Social classes limit people too. Darry, a Greaser and Paul, a Soc had the same qualities to be successful and go to college. Darry however, was held back because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. The Evil Character Of Iago Evil has been portrayed throughout time in many ways. In Christian theology, it has been shown through the character of Satan and his various sins. In Stephen King novels, it is portrayed through the imagery provided by monsters and humans with cruel intentions. All these characters, though different in many ways, all hold a similar trait, that they are aware of the evil nature and how they represent a different nature to seem a certain way to others. They may portray themselves as kind, caring, and honest when they are in fact, quite the opposite; cruel, dishonest and malevolent. They also all have the power to be destructive, even if they do not have a direct reason to, only their own desire to do so. While good is self producing and improving, evil is self destructive and can only create evil. Iago, as an evil character, holds many similarities to other wicked figures, and is sometimes seen as a satan like figure. Shakespeare uses the character of Iago to display the different forms evil can take on such as being hidden behind false intentions, turning into an image of good, and its destructive nature resulting into its own end. In the beginning of the play, Iago is seen by other characters as a wholesome character, often called Honest Iago due to his seemingly kind nature, though it is merely a mask his wickedness is hidden behind. Iago, when speaking to Rodrigo about his honorable position, he reveals his true intentions behind what he does in his position by saying, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
