The Conspiracy Of Organized Religion
The Conspiracy of Organized Religion
A group of people using religion to manipulate the masses to oppose another
grouping of people based on their own interpretation of faith; the conspiracy of
organized religion is controlled, it is an easy way to take a group of people with
like minded beliefs group them together and manipulate them for an ulterior goal;
our only goal should be to exist as good people and essentially that is what the core
of all these faiths tell you but organized religion has taken that goal and twisted it
for human made selfish ambitions of greed and power. Studies have shown that
people who are the most religious believe more in magic and superstitious. If we
are so focused on a powerful God who controls our destiny, why do we not wonder
who created? questions like this come from those who have the strongest; belief in
God himself (Carter 4). 70 percent of church goers do not fully believe in the back
of their religion, or believe or what is supposed to happen after their death (Carter
5). With religious belief there is no true religion. The more known religions is how
an individual is born and raised into maturity. There are big differences in religion
based on the theme of the nation. Most people who are born into a certain religion
there really is no changing it (Carter 6). In various parts of the world mankind in

Saks Fifth Avenue Ad Analysis
Most of the successful companies in this generation and previous generations as
well, do not gain their fame by producing the best merchandise but earn a good
reputation and fame by being the best at advertising their products. If a company
tends to have the best quality products and does not advertise them, no one might
ever know unless the company makes the world know about it. If their
advertisement is not effective, then they shall waste their already limited resources
and end up closing down. Therefore, advertisements have to be explicit and
noticeable at first sight. The advertisement on Saks Fifth Avenue in the New Yorker
magazine is effective because the visual is attractive, the texts are well organized, the
colors are well placed and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly, the visual is attractive and eye catching because the use of colors is
strategic. The advertisement on Saks Fifth Avenue portrays a lady in a polka dot
dress, composed of black and white, with a piano in the background. Moreover, there
are writings on the picture with Saks Fifth Avenue (Advertisement) in bold large
fonts and the location of the shop at the bottom. A shallow interpretation of the
advertisement will be that it represents a clothing line for simple yet outgoing ladies.
This plays an important role because, if the colors used where both dull, then neither
the lady nor the writing will present conspicuous. As a result, since both colors used
were extreme, it brings out the important information printed in white very clearly.
Likewise, the white and black color displayed suits the theme of the advertisement. It
brings out the purpose and elegance in

Walt Disney World
Since 1923, Walt Disney has provided people of all ages with tons of entertainment

there is a Disney creation. He has single handedly taken over the motion picture
industry. He was very creative, funny, and imaginative. Walt Disney
has lived a very

Walt Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 1901 (Cole 9 10). His
family had a small farm, and that is where he developed a love for animals (Cole 14).
He started drawing on toilet paper, but sometimes his brother would use his extra
money to buy Walt paper (Cole 13,15). Disney dropped out of school at 16 to join the

today, such as Mickey Mouse (Dole). In 1957, Disney decided to branch out and
open up a theme park (Jolley). This park was Disneyland, which grew to be the
most successful amusement park ever (Jolley). He was in the process of creating
Disney World, but died of lung cancer before it was created (Jolley). The park was
built anyway and opened in 1971 (Jolley). Walt Disney opened a university called
The California Institute of the Arts (Dole). Regarding the school, he said, If I can
help provide a place to develop the talent of the future, I think I will have
accomplished something (Dole). He also went on to win many awards. He even
holds a record for the most Academy Awards won (Jolley). He has taught us all
valuable lessons, whether it be in his cartoons or from him as a person. Overall,
Walt Disney was a true inspiration. He showed children and even adults that they

Esther means star. Esther became queen in 479 B.C. The key personalities are Esther,
Mordecai, King Ahasuerus (or Xerxes), and Haman.
Its purpose is to demonstrate God s love and sovereignty in all circumstances. It is a
post exile story about Jews who stayed behind after most returned to Jerusalem after
the captivity. Babylon was conquered by Persia and Esther miraculously becomes the
queen of the land, and saves her people.
In chapter 1 2, Esther becomes the queen of Ahasuerus of Persia. She was personally
chosen by the King. The king loved Esther more than all the women, and she found
favor and kindness with him (2:17), probably because of her beauty and intelligence.
Chapters 3 4, Mordecai (Esther s guardian) refused to bow down and pay homage
to Haman a high official of the king. Haman becomes infuriated and plots to
destroy all the Jews in the kingdom because of his pride. Mordecai hears of the plot
and reports it to his Esther. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and
deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father s
house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a
time as this?

How Shakespeare Shaped Society
How Shakespeare Shaped Society
What do belongings , eyeballs , and managers have in common? William
Shakespeare created all three of these now commonly spoken words (Lewis). In
addition to words, Shakespeare also invented a lot of new phrases during his lifetime
that modern society frequently uses. By combining genres and appealing to the
general population, he revolutionized theatre. Shakespeare s mastery of the English
language is still remembered to this very day. Reading some of Shakespeare s plays
is a requirement in almost every single high school in America. Shakespeare has
influenced our culture in many ways, such as inventing new words, coining popular
phrases, and transforming theatre.
William Shakespeare created a lot of words still in use today, more than four
hundred years after his death. Shakespeare constructed over 1700 new words,
averaging more than two brand new words per month for his entire life! Receiving
credit for words like eyeball, addiction, assassination, and bedazzled, Shakespeare

Never before had someone so masterfully blend together the genres of comedy,
romance, and tragedy. One of the main reasons Romeo and Juliet remains so
popular is because of the unique combination of romance and tragedy. Prior to
Shakespeare s time, theatre only targeted the rich and wealthy. But Shakespeare
changed this by appealing to the general population. He created plots and characters
that everyone in the crowd could relate to, instead of only those with an abundance
of wealth. Because Shakespeare s plays were so popular, many playwrights have
used him and his plays as inspiration for their works. Even some modern plays
contain traces of Shakespeare in their storylines and dialogue. William Shakespeare
forever changed theatre, and this has impacted many
Educational Inequality In America
Education in America What grade would America receive for our education system?
America would probably get a D because we cannot provide everyone with the same
quality education as other public schools, private, and charter schools. Education is
important in all countries especially in America, but there is so much educational
inequality that everyone does not get an equal opportunity at a good education. This
can be due to the location and income of families that can determine how successful
they are going to be in school. The government has attempted to increase graduation
rates by implementing new laws and standards that have actually in time proven to be
unsuccessful. This essay is going to highlight the educational inequality in America,...

There is already opportunity inequality between private, public, charter schools,
and even other public schools. An excellent example would be the differences
between the schools in Clovis and Fresno alone. Clovis is well known for their
schools being up to date, producing bright students, and having some of the best
athletes. Whereas, Fresno schools have been taking hits for their schools having
higher drop out rates and not producing college ready students. Clovis schools,
which are best known for having all rich white kids could help explain why their
schools have higher graduation rates and more college ready students because
statistics clearly show that income and location greatly impact the quality of
education that person is going to receive. Where on the other hand, Fresno has
much more low income areas and families than Clovis does which could explain
why some of Fresno s schools are not at the same standard as Clovis schools.
Unlike the NCLB (no child left behind) act states parents do not have the freedom to
choose what school they want their child to go because each city has district lines
telling them what schools they have to go to and the only way to change schools is

Emerson Individualism
Emphasis on the Individual
During the 19th century Romantic period, an intellectual movement known as
Transcendentalism emerged. Individualism was one of the fundamental ideas of
Transcendentalists. This new group believed that the individual s purity would be
corrupted by organized religious and political parties. Literature in this period was
affected by tenets of Transcendentalism. Many of the authors who believed in this
movement expressed their ideas in their works. Transcendentalist writers supported
individualism by advocating self reliance, nonconformity, and resistance to unjust
government.
Individualism was often shown in transcendentalist s works by insisting that oneself
must be self reliant. Writer Ralph Waldo Emersonwas a key leader in the
Transcendental movement. In his work, Self Reliance , Emerson advocated self
reliance when he wrote To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for
you in your private heart is true for all men, that is genius (1334). In this piece,
Emerson also preached Insist of yourself; never imitate (1348) to his readers. He
believed that an individual was truly their best when they had independent thinking
and relied only on their own thoughts. Emerson claimed that an individual s true
genius cannot be taught or learned from another person. ... Show more content on

Henry David Thoreau believed in prioritizing one s conscience thoughts over the
ideas and laws of government. He argued that people should do what they feel is
right and not conform to an unjust institution just because the majority is. In his

government is best which governs least; (1577) and That government is best which
governs not at all; (1577). Thoreau did not resist government entirely, but only the

Essay about Birth Order
Birth Order
Does being the eldest child make people highly intellectual, people pleasing,
perfectionists? Are the middle children always impatiently competing for parental
attention by rebelling against the rules? Are all last born children the spoiled,
selfish, favorites? Birth order, a highly controversial topic, is defined as the
dynamics of an individual s place in the family compared to that of their siblings.
Birth order has been in a fiery discussion for over one hundred years; some say it s
the very foundation of each one of our personalities, while others claim that the
margin of error is just too wide for these coincidental patterns to bear any meaning.
Alfred Alder, the first to study birth order and the family dynamics that ... Show more

Another famous, or infamous, characteristic eldest tend to portray is that of
selfishness (Murphy). Born into a life of privilege and not having to share a single
thing gives them their first dose of the selfish trait. They are the receivers of the first
time parent pampering love, and they are the first to experience the confusion that
accompanies the birth of a younger sibling. They are not used to having to share
everything; therefore they act as if they are the Alfa male to the new arrival, which
also explains the previously stated dominant trait that domino effects them into the
role of the mentor.
One thing is for sure about eldest children: They are nothing like middle born
children. Middle children are dubbed as the outgoing, friendly, and loud sibling.
All too often do they get lost in the madness of the family dynamics and, in turn,
develop a competitive nature. They are eager for their parents approval and praise,
but feel as if their older sibling received too much credit and their younger sibling
receives too little discipline compared to them (Neal). They are both teacher and
student, babysitter and babysat, too young for the privileges of the firstborn but too
old for the latitude given the last (Kluger).
Much could be said about the last born children because they seem to always fit the
molded stereotype of themselves. Their characteristics can be picked up on in a
matter of minutes in a conversation; there

In Araby , Eveline , and The Dead , three short stories featured in James Joyce s The
Dubliners, the characters struggle with whether to live their lives with a structured
routine or to seek opportunities, change, and adventure. These short stories center
around everyday life for citizens of Dublin, Ireland in the early 20th century, when a
choice between continuing the inherited tradition of routine and structure versus
seeking any other form of life or adventure could be the most important decision in
the peoples lives. With the terrible potato famine still in living memory and with
Ireland seeking a new culture and identity, many of its citizens clung to their routine

Direct Cinema Essay
Direct Cinema
The term direct cinema was coined by American director Albert Maysles, to describe
the style of documentary that he and his contemporaries were making in the 1960s as
a result of a lightweight, portable 16mm camera and high quality lightweight audio
recorders becoming available. The introduction of these, together with film stock
which was sensitive enough to give a good quality close up monochrome picture
under most lighting conditions
(Including hand held lights) led to a revolution in Documentary filmmaking, allowing
film crews to be much more flexible. Gone were the days of bulky, virtually
immobile 35mm cameras; now manufacturers improved their 16mm stock and

Ideal subjects for documentaries according to the direct cinema ethos were:
1) A person who is interesting;
2) A person who is in an interesting situation which s/he cares deeply about;
3) A subject where a conclusion can be arrived at in a limited time; and
4) A subject where there is easy access to events.
The group believed that the cameraman, the director and the sound recordist were all
equal in status and were all film makers, playing a role in an integrated process. They
felt that the filmmaker s relationship with the subject was personal and one of
equality, and that an audience was active in its engagement with the film. Direct
cinema practitioners wished the audience to be presented with sufficient evidence to
enable them to make up their own minds and not be mere passive observers.
... the degree to which the camera changes the situation is mostly due to the nature of
the person filming it... Richard Leacock.
Direct cinema was conceived with TV in mind. In the 60s TV had poor picture
quality, the black and white image being frequently fuzzy with viewers reliant on
good quality sound. Image quality such as this fitted in perfectly with direct cinema s
stance on camera framing and editing; anything more complex than
King Of The Bingo Game By Ralph Ellison
Introduction The short story King of the Bingo Game was written by Ralph
Ellison. It was first published in the journal Tomorrow in November 1944. The
story involves the protagonist Bingo King who is alone in the world and his
isolation is further highlighted by the potential death of his wife who is critically ill.
The story interestingly examines a segment of Americans who are often ignored and
are new to the urban life (Ellison, 1944). The protagonist has been given
characteristics such as backwoods cluelessness and inner yearning that he finds
difficult to understand and articulate. The story is centered on the theme of

Ir A Nuclear Power And Producing Atomic Bombs
Around 2003, the hidden Iranian plan of becoming a nuclear power and producing
atomic bombs was revealed by a major opposition group: Mojahadeen. The U.S and
other Western countries have been seriously discussing this matter with Iranian
authorities after they verified the validity of the news. Iran has undergone billions
dollars in expenses, in attempts to gain nuclear power. Generally, the main sanctions
are divided into four different groups: U.S sanctions (Executive Order), European
sanctions, UN sanctions, and sanctions imposed by the U.S congress. During the
beginning years, the effect rate of sanctions weren t very high until sanctions were
imposed on Irans oil/energy sector and the banking system (Slavin, 2007). When the
Iranian revolutiontook place is 1979, Iranian civilians were in search for a better life
which would bring them more political freedom, which at the time, they were
lacking. The revolution, attempting to overthrow Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi

they were stripped of their other rights and privileges as well. The new ideological
theocratic government betrayed the hopes and dreams of civilians of having a better
democratic life and instead set up a theocratic dictatorship that affect Iranians until
this day. Relations between the United States and Iran has changed drastically ever

Architecture, Belief Systems, And Societal Structure
Culture is a very important aspect of human life; it defines the way people live, grow,
and evolve. Anthropologists study cultures throughout the world and throughout
different time periods. They study the different aspects of culture including
architecture, belief systems, and societal structure. Egypt is a country ripe with
history and rich culture, from their towering pyramids to their modern day society.
Intricately crafted obelisks and tombs decorate the landscape, but how much of that is
being preserved? The study and preservation of past culture can heavily influence and
educate the present. It is important to learn about the past in order to evolve and
create a better future. While change can be beneficial, it is important not to neglect
ancient culture.
When a person thinks of Ancient Egypt, she might first picture the pyramids, the
Sphinx, and even the towering statues and obelisks. Architecture has been a defining
point throughout Egypt s history. Some structures, such as the temples of Karnak
and Luxor built along the Nile River, were created to honor the dead and worship
the Egyptian gods (Temples, n.d.). Ancient Egypt was full of temples which were
built to house the Gods and separate them from the rest of the world. According to a
creation legend, the first temple was built on a large mound that had risen from the
primeval sea known as Nun. In one version of the legend, a lotus flower grew upon
this mound and humans were created soon after in an event known

Malnutrition in the World
Nutrition is perhaps the most important factor, which affects the health of a person.
The body needs a balanced amount of nutrients and energy for its survival and is
essential for good health. A balanced diet is necessary and it takes into account six
different food components, which are proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins,
minerals, fibers and water. The needs may depend on your gender, your age, your
life type, you health conditions and so on. Intakes of energy and nutrients below or
in excess of needs for a prolonged period can adversely affect health. Malnutrition is
a term that covers problems of both under nutrition and over nutrition. The word
hunger can mean the painful sensation caused by the want of food, the want or
scarcity of food in a country or a strong desire or craving. In relation to the term World
Hunger, the word refers to the want or scarcity of food in a country. In areas of the
world, including the United States, where hunger is an issue, malnourishment
becomes a very serious concern. There are two main types of malnutrition, Protein
energy malnutrition (PEM) and micronutrient deficiency. While both types of
malnutrition are dangerous, PEM is the most important and most notable form of the
disease and is eminently fatal. Quite a few trace elements or micronutrients, vitamins
and minerals are important for health. Iron, Vitamin A, Iodine, and Zinc are some of
the nutrients people that are malnourished need.

communicate with family members, friends, and coworkers daily. It is not
uncommon for individuals to put themselves in situations that hinder their ability to

many avoidable hazardous things that lead to hearing loss, such as consonantly
listening to loud noises, forcibly cleaning ears with Q tips, or ignoring the excess
accumulation of cerumen in their ear. In subjecting myself to a mild conductive
hearing loss I could somewhat comprehend the importance of what it means to hear.

Feminism Essay
Both Virginia Woolf, in a speech addressing a graduating all women class, and Naomi
Wolf, in her text The Beauty Myth, contemplate feminism from an economic
viewpoint. While Woolf believes women need money and a room of their own to
have economic independence, Wolf gives credence to the fact that the beauty industry
is hindering the independence of women. Through male pomposity, the conventional
lives of women, obsession with physical appearance, and the reality that beauty is
diverse, both Woolf and Wolf explain the significance of our worlds economy.
Women have always been economically dependent on men. Any land or money that
was in a woman s possession was given to her father or husband. Women have stayed
at home working as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In her speech, Woolf was asked to talk about women and fiction. She resolved that
without money nor education, women would not be able to create fiction. Which is
why, in the Elizabethan era, women did not generate any sort of poetry. Woolf
pondered over this for a while, and hypothesized that
Shakespeare had an ingenious sister, Judith. Judith had the imagination and ability
to produce creative works just like her brother. However, Judith never had any
education so she wasn t able to thrive. In short, the story goes like this: Judith s
father arranges a marriage for her, Judith runs away from home and goes to the
city, she tries to live out her dream and act, she gets laughed at, she has an affair,
and then Judith kills herself at the crossroads. The fact that Judith kills herself at the
crossroads has great symbolism. The crossroads represents choice. The choice is
that one can go along with her potential and be who she wants to be, or she can go
along with the flow.
Even though this choice is existent, it is extremely improbable. As Woolf states,
quot;it is unthinkable that any woman in Shakespeare s day had had
Shakespeare s genius. For genius like Shakespeare s is not born among labouring,
uneducated, servile people, quot; (Woolf 353). Women have never had the
opportunity to produce poetry because they have never been given the freedom they
need to do so. Because women have always been poor and reliant
Essay about The Asian Experience in America
The Asian Experience in America
There have been people from many different countries, nations, and religions who
have decided to migrate from other places to the United States throughout history. But
perhaps none have come in more mass than the Chinese. With declining economic
and political conditions at home, many literally saw coming to the United States as a
golden opportunity. Once arriving here though, many found out it wasn t as
opportune as they thought. The immigration of Asians to America was a big part of
American History. This is especially true for the Chinese because they were one the
first minorities to immigrate to the U.S. in mass. Asians are still the fastest growing
minorities in the U.S. to date. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many landed such jobs as farm workers, domestic servants, cooks, common laborers,
laundry, and cannery workers (Groliers). Some of them came out better off landing
jobs as labor contractors, merchants, and restaurant operators. Those remaining
became grocers, herbalists, interpreters, and letter writers to cater to the needs of their
fellow countrymen (Groliers).
Many of the Chinese laborers were part of the railroad crews that built several
railroads including the transcontinental railroad between 1865 and 1869. In 1867,
two thousand Chinese railroad workers decided to strike for a week (Chan 92). At
it s peak, more than 10,000 Chinese workers worked on the transcontinental
railroad. One of the biggest problems the Chinese had to face here was having very
few rights if any rights at all. They endured racism and discrimination from a lot of
people and there we no laws to help them. There was no aspect of their lives that
was left unaffected. The San Francisco school system was segregated, and with all
the racial tension, San Francisco opened a school for Chinese children in 1857.
After years of Anti Chinese violence in San Francisco and Los Angeles, the school
closed in 1871. The anger carried over into the workplace. Many people felt that the
Chinese were taking all of the opportunities and jobs. The Chinese were hit
The Marketing Environment And Marketing Mix Of A Firm
In this report, I have used marketing concepts to analyze the marketing environment
and marketing mix of a firm, which has achieved superior performance. I have
chosen one of the most famous and oldest retailer in the UK, Marks Spencer.
Marks Spencer is one of the best well known British department stores. It was
founded by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer in 1884 (M S, 2014). It started as a
market stall at Kirkgate Market in Leeds. Nowadays, M S has transformed to an
international multi channel retailer with 798 stores in UK and 455 international
stores (M S, 2014). According to its annual report this year, it has earned a total
revenue of ВЈ10.3 billions over the last year. (M S, 2014)
Basically Marks Spencer has divided its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore Plan A is launched in 2007 (M S, 2014). It is a plan that promotes ethical
trading, environmentally friendly and sustainability. For example under this plan, M
S has developed a programme that trains suppliers with their rights, as well as
support some disadvantaged supply chain workers. With the help of Plan A, M S has
established a good relationship with their suppliers and also earn them a place of high
rated ethical trading company.
Maintaining good relationship with the suppliers is very important. If one of the
suppliers suddenly refuses to supply material to M S, they can find another suppliers
immediately. Therefore M S has never failed on the supply of materials.
вћўCustomers
M S mainly target the consumer market rather than business and government market.
The objective of M S is not only maximizing their profit, but also increase customer
satisfaction and their loyalty. M S target their customers on the upper class of the
society that means people with higher income, and also healthy eaters in the society.
Their target customers mostly aim at improving their quality of lives, concerning
about the product quality rather than prices. So M S devote their effort on improving
the quality of their products so as to increase customer s satisfaction. According to
Baber Smith, M S have seen as producing good quality products with good values
(Baber Smith, 2009).

Research Paper On Impulse Buying
Impulse Buying Behavior Definition Impulse buying can be referred to as sudden
unplanned decision to buy a product or service made specifically at the time of
purchase. Rook (1987) explains impulse buying as Impulse buying takes place when
a consumer feels a sudden often strong and insistent urge to purchase something
instantly. The urge to buy is hedonically complex and often may fuel emotional
conflict. Also, impulse buying is likely to occur with reduced concern for its
consequences. Beatty Ferrell (1998) explains the concept of impulse buying by
saying that it is immediate purchase of a product without any pre shopping intentions
to buy. Jeffrey and Hodge (2007) state that, impulse buying comprises of four
components: the purchase is unplanned, it is the result of an exposure to stimulus, it
is decided on the spot , and it involves an emotional and/or cognitive reaction

However, having an impulse to buy does not automatically imply acting upon it.
Numerous factors may interfere between having the impulse to buy and actual
buying, (Dholakia, 2000). In truth, individuals practice innumerable strategies to
have some control on this craving (Hock and Loewenstein, 1991). This difference
has also been validated empirically. For example, Beatty Ferrell (1998) empirically
proved the compulsion to detach the impulse to buy from actual buying behavior
with the help of admirable performance of model they presented when impulse
buying was considered to be the only dependent variable. Likewise, prevailing
researches (e.g. Beatty and Ferrell, 1998) also indicate that for buying impulse the
determinants may not essentially predict impulse buying. It means that not every
impulse to buy can be translated as an actual buying

Name: Toh Lai Hee
Class: IA04B (Interactive Art)

Subject: Art History
The most apparent similarity between these two films is that both films revolve
around the daily lives of the main characters.
The main characters, Charlie and Mr. bean, in The Kid and Mr. Bean The Ultimate
Disaster Movie respectively, both have child like qualities, and the tendency to be
rather mischievous. Mr. Bean is naive and self centered, sometimes to the extent of
becoming somewhat mean. Despite his considerable age, he still sleeps cuddled up
with his teddy bear. Nothing is sacred to him, and he plays his games with an earnest
sheepishness. His childish directness and honesty, while offensive at times, are his

Bean himself, in a typically English environment, then later putting him in an
international environment. Being release in 1997 it is a light hearted satire of how
the more conservative English society reacts to and attempt to adapt to rapidly
changing international standards and the shifts in power.
The main difference of these two movies is that The Kid aims to bring some cheer
to its audiences hearts by showing how joy can still be found in the gloomiest
conditions (as depicted in the daily lives of Charlie and the child he has adopted)
and also to reflect the state of the society while Mr. Bean The Ultimate Disaster
Movie seeks to bring some comic relief into the highly stressful lifestyle of the
modern day individual, by actually letting them laugh at a highly exaggerated, and
therefore comic, version of themselves .
As mentioned earlier, the era in which Charlie Chaplin s The Kid was made did not
allow for colour or sound to be incorporated into its production. Being disadvantaged
in this area, the actors in the film had to make up for it by emphasizing on facial
expressions and body movements, in order to express thoughts and emotions, and
also to portray certain unique mannerisms and character traits of the various
characters in the story. Modern day audiences who are unaccustomed to this form of
acting might feel uncomfortable viewing films from the silent era, because the actors
may seem to them, to be over acting to an outrageous
Jean-Baptiste Oudry
The artist that I will be focusing on is Jean Baptiste Oudry, a French artist who
focused mainly on painting animals. He was born in Paris, France on March 17,
1686 and died on April 30, 1755 in Beauvais, France. He was a French Rococo
painter and specialized in painting animals. Oudry first studied portrait paintingwith
Nicolas de LargilliГЁre. And later met Jean Baptiste MassГ©. Through MassГ©, he
made many connections and one that made his reputation, Louis XV. Oudry created
Louis XV hunting a deer in the Forest of Saint Germain for the king and was later
asked to produce more paintings for the king. Oudry started out painting only
portraits but later moved to paintings of fruits, animals, as well as religious subjects.
Oudry mainly painted but he also engraved. He was a Rococo painter which was a

outside environment and their names are under each dog. Oudry uses elements of
art such as texture and shape. The dog s fur are depicted by soft lines used by
Oudry. He also uses shape to show objects and represent what they are. For
example, in this painting, we can see that the pillar behind these two dogs are
made up of a cube and a cylinder on top to show that it is a pillar. Oudry also uses
principles of art such as proportion and emphasis. Here, we can see that both dogs
are about the same size to show than either of them are the weak or stronger one. He
also uses emphasis on the dogs to show that this painting only focuses on the dogs
and the background objects are not as emphasized because of their size or positioning

The Devil In The White City Analysis
In the novel The Devil in the White City, Author Erik Larson uses imagery, irony,
and juxtaposition to parallel the good and evil sides of the city of Chicago during
the 1893 World s Fair. Larson takes a more upbeat, joyous tone while following the
story of Burnham and the architects designing the World Fair, but the tone turns
much darker when perspectives change and we follow the plot of H.H. Holmes,
America s first known serial killer. Using rhetorical devices like imagery, diction,
and syntax, Larson is able to paint a picture of Chicagofrom both the good and evil
side, setting a more serious and ominous tone for the novel. Using imagery, Larson is
able to paint vivid illustrations to shed light on the existence of both good and evil...

Larson uses irony when he states that the fair had begun with death and how it had
ended with death (Larson 332). The beginning of the fair had many issues with
construction and was essentially failing to attract as many visitors as needed, as
well as being the very beginning of the murderous intentions of H.H. Holmes, hence
the fair [beginning] with death. The fair also literally ended with death at the very
end of the novel, when Mayor Harrison is murdered, and a funeral was what ended
the fair. Larson also uses irony when calling the fair perfect, the grace and beauty
was so great that nobody believed that anything truly bad could happen to anyone,
anywhere during the duration of the fair (Larson 289). The words used here
demonstrate irony in that while spectators believed that nothing bad could happen
during the fair, much darker things were going on just behind the curtain of beauty
that the fair set up. The grace and beauty of the fair blinded the public from noticing
the steadily rising count of women who went missing, so that Holmes was able to
murder without attracting too much attention to himself. The irony used by Larson
captures the view of the fair as a wonderful experience, but under all the fancy lights
and amazing sights, an underlying darkness is consuming the city of
British Culture
Brity British culture has its distinct and unique aspects reflected to long history and
traditions in its own. When you observe carefully, you realise that you find a large
amount of successful females at workplaces. You see quite a lot of women that have
full time work positions regardless of their ages. It is unusual for people from
another cultures to see women taking roles in society. Perhaps due to their religious
backgrounds which do not see women outside of the house favourably or simply
difference in cultures in which women usually stay at homeand taking charge of
household chores. It is, however, found to be quite different in UK. It could be
because its historical fact that the one who is ruling over the country, the Queen, is...

A recent article supports the idea why men are not suitable for domestic chores
even though they are willing to be participated in one. According to a survey that
was conducted to 2,000 randomly picked women, women spend average of three
hours to re do what men has done due to low quality job presented. (Carlson, 2012)
It could be explained due to traditional aspects that women are usually doing
household chores whilst men are out there to make money to support the family.
However, the modern British society does not allow it. Women are more socially
active and when they are a part of work forces, it is not always easy for them to
focus on work and domestic chores at the same time. One interesting fact in this
article states that women think men are usually incompetent in what they do when it
comes to household chores and women often think that they could do better.
(Carlson, 2012) Considering household jobs are not usually complicated and does
not require special set of skills that can only be acquired under supervisions of
professionals, it is just viewed as women pursuing for perfection in what they do and
men do not realise how crucial proper help from them.
After all, even though men are willing to share household duties with women, on
women s side, it is not necessarily helpful for them and it comes back to the original
point where women have enough time to grow their children, do household chores,
go to work and be socially active
What Is The Consumption In The Masque Of The Red Death
Edgar Allen Poe, completely transformed the horror genre with his tales reflecting
the psychological depth and insight of the the human conditon not previously seen
(Poe Museum, no date). Despite his alignment with the horror genre, he was initially
taken in by the romantic ideals of consumption. This is portrayed in one of his early
short stories, Metzengerstein , from 1832, where despite the majority of the story
following many gothic conventions, the protaganist s mother dies of consumption.
The narrrator of the story asserts that ...it is a path I have prayed to follow...I would
wish all I love to perish of that gentle disease when referring to the mother s
impending death. The narrator s desperation to die from consumption is implied
through the use of the verb prayed . This verb has connotations of wishing or hoping
strongly for a particular outcome (Oxford Dictionaries, 2017): despite the horrific and
drawn out process of the disease that we now understand in the 21st Century, this
character still desires it thus reflecting the general insensitivty towards the disease.
Although influenced early in his career by the romanticized stance on consumption,
he changed his portrayal of the disease completely in his short storyThe Masque of
the Red Death , published in 1842. Very little had advanced in the medical
understanding of consumption, but between Poe writing the aforementioned text and
The Masque of the Red Death , his own wife had contracted the disease
A Psychological Viewpoint on Memento
Memento is an American psychological thriller adapted from a short story, Memento
Mori written by James Nolan. The story displays the life of Leonard Shelby. Shelby
has anterograde Amnesia brought about by an injury to his head. He suffered this
injury while confronting two people who attacked his wife at their home in the
middle of the night. Leonard kills one of the attackers during the attack, although the
second one escapes. Due to the injury and resultant amnesia, the last thing Leonard
remembers is his wife dying. He is unable to remember new information after that
day. The movie shows how he devotes his life to finding and killing the second

He is a very hardened man who has had to survive on his own since he was young.
He says exactly what he feels, regardless of how they may affect the person, who

he tells her to go away. In the beginning of the play, he talks to Bono and she comes

women as being lower than men. He thinks that she will not understand what they

Individuality In Anthem
Ego a person s sense of self esteem or self importance. Also known as the forbidden
word of the totalitarian society created by Ayn Rand in Anthem. In Rand s 1938
novel, her main character, Equality 7 2125 unknowingly followed the path of
individuality, which was against the wishes of society. Proving that knowledge is a
product of the observations and mental integrations of individuals, he rebelled against
the ideals his society chained him with. He found his ego and sense of self, amidst a
world who deemed it a sin to do so. Through the point of view/narration, themes,
characterization and conflicts, Rand wanted to convey the dangers of a failed
government, and the need for individuality.
When beginning the novel, Rand uses a first person point of view, yet instead of
the common plural forms of, I and My , she has the narrator use, We and Our.
Equality was taught that individuality didn t exist, and instead that all men must be
alike, therefore there is only, we. Upon reading this, it seems as if Rand was
writing about multiple people, yet this is how the society must address themselves,
because no man gets singled out. The plural forms remain the same, until the
beginning of chapter eleven, where Equality finally discovers the form of, I . This
type of narration allowed the ideals of society to be made apparent, and progressed
the plot in Equality s search of individuality.
Individualism and collectivism are two core themes that are present in the novel. It s
as if these two themes work against each other, in order to obtain individuality, you
must get rid of collectivism, and vice versa. As Equality lives through his days, he
discovers his unspoken lover, the Golden One , and begins to explore egotistical
thoughts, where his curiosity grew even greater. In chapter nine, Equality began
finally discovering individuality, where he was torn on finding the certain word that
society had hidden. And we felt torn, torn for some word we could not find. (Rand
112) In the beginning of chapter eleven, after finding a home from the unmentionable
times, he had discovered individuality within the form of I , and his mind opened up
to the many great things of this world. Equality discovering individuality
How The Blood Type Of Blood
Abstract During this lab, students will learn how to perform a process as if it was
a real blood test. Working with four different synthetic blood samples, they will use
synthetic antisera to the A, B, and Rh antigens on red blood cells. Students are able
to identify the blood type of each blood sample and how the bloodtype is determined.
Introduction The blood is a very important fluid of our body that has many
different ways that keep us healthy. It transports important nutrients and oxygen to
our cells and acts in the process of removing wastes and carbon dioxide from the
body.( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) Also, this specialized fluid helps in
defending the body by forming blood clots as a result of a wounded blood vessel
and carrying various cells that are crucial to our health. An average human body s
weight is made of seven to eight percent blood.( American Society of Hematology .
n.d.) The blood is made of different components that perform different actions. It is
made of 55 percent plasma and 45 percent cells. ( American Society of Hematology
. n.d.) The blood is liquidy due to the presence of plasma. It is composed of water,
proteins, fats, and salts. The plasma is crucial in transporting the blood cells and
bring waste products to be removed from the body to the kidney and liver. (
American Society of Hematology . n.d.) The blood cells are main components of the
blood and have distinct purposes. Red blood cells, also known as erythrocytes, are the

involving puncturing of the skin from the tattooartist. Tattooed people were less likely
to claim a religious denomination than the non tattooed. Little is known about the

Donne s The Sun Rising and Marvell s To His Coy Mistress
John Donne was one of the most influential poets of the seventeenth century. His
often comical poems contain intricate dual meanings and his religious (divine) poetry
is convincing and beautiful. Andrew Marvell also wrote during the same period as
John Donne and the two worked on similar important matters concerning humanity
throughout their careers. Both are classified as metaphysical poets, meaning the poetry
employs paradoxes, and is highly intellectualized, marked by bold and ingenious
conceits, according to the Merriam Webster dictionary. Donne s The Sun Rising
and Marvell s To His Coy Mistress are both based on a similar metaphysical
principle and achieve a coherent response from the reader. However, the underlying
meanings of Donne s and Marvell s poems are vastly different. Donne implies that
perfect loveis not at all perfect and, while both poets have a sentiment of carpe diem
within these poems, Marvell s subject is lacking something in his romantic
relationship, unlike Donne s subject. The two poets challenge the authority of the
time and imply that, although love transcends authority, it is necessary for there to be
an imbalance of power in relationships, suggesting that perfect love is idealized and
unrealistic. In the beginning of Donne s poem, the subject dismisses the sun as
unimportant, personifying it by calling the sun a busy old fool. However, it is
obvious that the sun is the authority figure that the subject is attempting to ignore.
The Effect Of Stress On Mental And Physical Health
In order to develop techniques to manage stress, you must first understand what
contributes to stress. Stress is the body s reaction to your environment that impacts
the balance of your physical or mental being. Stress is the same for the body whether
considered positive or negative. It elicits the same body responses for emotionand
motivation whether it is from competitive sports or a near miss on the freeway.
Emotion and motivation are the two fundamental components of affect. They guide
behavior and help you make decisions; and they can also impact mental and physical
health. (Saylor Academy, ND)
How your body and brain interpret stress, and the intensity and duration of that stress
are all factors in your wellbeing. When strong emotion or motivation occurs the
sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system response is to supply energy
for your body, which is experienced as arousal. This is done by the release of the
stress hormones epinephrine and norepinephrine. The liver puts sugar into the
bloodstream; your heart pounds pumping more blood; your breathing rate increases;
the pupils of your eyes dilate to increase help with sight; and you begin to sweat.
The body is reacting to outside stimuli and preparing to respond in case of danger.
(Saylor Academy, ND)
An emotion is a mental and overall feeling of the body that grabs focus and
determines behavior. There is a slow and a fast emotional pathway in the brain. Both
pathways are controlled by the

Olaudah Equiano Essay
Olaudah Equiano was a British native and a previous slave who, in the 1780s, turned
into a pioneer in the development to cancel the slave exchange. His self portrayal,
The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa, the
African, was first distributed in London in 1789 and with its solid abolitionist
position and nitty gritty portrayal of life in Nigeria, was so popular to the point that
in his lifetime it went through nine English releases and one U.S. printing and was
converted into Dutch, German, and Russian.. It contributed essentially to turning
British popular conclusion against the slave exchange. Equiano was viewed as an

Equiano was around 12 when he initially touched base in England. For part of that
time he remained at Blackheath in London with the Guerin family. It is here that
Equiano learnt how to read and write and to do arigmetrics. The book started with
an appeal addressed to Parliament, expressing that the reason for his book is to
incite sentiments of empathy for his comrades who have been whipped by the
abhorrence s of the slave exchange. While Equiano excessively endured, he now is
appreciative, making it impossible to have picked up information of Christianity and
of the country of Britain, which nevertheless finished with his abolitionist letter to
the Queen. The a huge number of individuals who read Equiano s book, or heard
him talk, began to see subjection through the eyes of a previous subjugated African.
It was a critical book that made a crucial commitment to the abolitionists motivation.
Since the book s story was valid, it sparked readers sympathy more than an address in
government would have done. Numerous other individuals, however, endeavored to
give occasion to feel qualms about Equiano s character, contending that he was

The Effect Of Weight Lifting And Its Effects On Basketball...
Weight Lifting and Its Effects on Basketball Players
Ten people gather around a center point waiting as two giants square off between
one another, clashing for the most valuable prize of the battle ahead: the basketball.
A game of strategy and high demands, basketball calls on both the body and the
mind in harmony in order to secure a victory. It calls on your body in many ways that
will strip you of energy unlike any other sport. Additionally, the game will demand a
high intelligence and acumen from the mind when making split second decisions.
Lifting weights can positively impact your body, physically and mentally;
furthermore, this training can then be applied onto the basketball court to help
increase the physical and mental attributes of a player. Being well equipped
physically for basketball provides many advantages when you apply it correctly.
Basketball is a unique sport that contains non stop movement in every moment.
The objective is simple: score more points than the other team. This is
accomplished by a constant burst of speed, agility, and quickness that combines
for fluid motions up and down the court. If a player is not trained properly, this
consistent activity can be extremely strenuous to their body. Plus, in a game of
basketball the gameplay is live until the ball goes out of bounds, there is a foul,
timeout called, or the end of a quarter. While this may seem like quite a few factors
to allow a dead ball and some rest time, they do not occur as much
Student Loan Vs. Private Loan
In order to get ahead in today s society people must take a risk. That risk may
include taking out student loans in order to acquire the necessary degree for their
wanted job. For some taking out student loans in the only way to achieve their goal
of going to college. There are many different types of student loans that a person
could qualify for, for example, a federal loanor private loan. No matter what type of
loan is being offered before someone should accept any type of loan and the
responsibilities that come along with it they should consider the positives and
negative repercussions that could occur. Often times people hear many negative
things about student loans but there are a few positive things about them. A
student loan allows someone to attend college and further their education which
gives them benefits that they will be able to use later in life. The main benefit and
reason individuals go to college is to reach the goal of a higher education, greater
employment opportunities and solid earnings and student loans make that possible
(Venable 2). It could also be a positive thing depending on the amount a person
borrows and terms they agree to pay it back. Having student loans that are possible
to make regular payments on is an opportunity to increase a person s credit score
allowing better financial opportunities, for example, being able to acquire a car loan,
business loan, or mortgage (Venable 2). Debtthat is manageable is good debt and as

The Eleusinian Mysteries
Sequentially, the seventh day was the second day at Eleusis and a day of resting in
preparation for the final ritual. It was on this day that the dromena, the deiknymena,
and the legomena came to an end. The eighth day or plomochoai was the last day at
Eleusis and was spent providing libations and rites for the dead (Mylonas 279). The
ninth day was the day all the participants returned to Athens or went home directly
from Eleusis. Although not an official day for the Mysteries, the twenty fourth of
Boedromion was when the Archon Basileus conducted a report on the Mysteries

The ancient site of Eleusis was in the western end of the Thraission plains and had
two passes that had access to Athens through the mountains (Cosmopoulos 2015, 28).
The Eleusinian Mysteries were based at Eleusis for more than two thousand years
(Mylonas, 226). Although, Eleusis was inhabited in the Early Bronze Age, it is not
until the Archaic Period that the Telesterion underwent changes in size, style, and
orientation. The purpose of the change during this period was to expand the terrace
for a new temple to Demeter (Cosmopoulos 2015 139). This Telesterion was
rectangular and far more spacious, but only lasted until the Persian invasion in 480
BC (140). From the Archaic Period to the Classical Period, there is not only
reorganization, but rebuilding. A program by Kimon was launched after the
destruction by the Persians, which basically enlarged the area of the sanctuary. The
Telesterion was never finished as Kimon was ostracized. It is not until Koroibos,
Metagenes, and Xenokles that another Telesterion was designed. In addition, the
Telesterion s new shape allowed for the accommodation of more people due to the
platform steps built on all four sides of the interior (145). At the end of the
Mysteries, the hiera was kept in storage at Eleusis in the Telesterion (Palinkas

network for specific shared files. Staff will also require seamless access to the
cloud if the network goes down. Also, the network administrator that Mr. Green
hires will need to quickly create Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and use tools to
quickly troubleshoot potential IT issues. Mr. Green asks you if these things will be a
concern with Windows 7.

Questions On The Environment And The Healthcare
Industry
Analyze the Environment
Five Forces (Top three):
1. Threat of New Entrants: Threat of entry is low in healthcare industry for several
reasons; most significantly government regulations. Federal and state governments
have strict regulations in place that each company in the industry must follow in
order to operate. High capital requirements may also deter small firms from entering
into the market. New firms will require enough resources to compete against the large
existing firms to be able to negotiate contracts with service providers.
2. Bargaining Power of Suppliers: Private practice physicians, healthcare
professionals and hospitals are the key suppliers of healthcare industry. The power of
suppliers is high because firms must come into ... Show more content on

Even though Careington International is in a niche market, the healthcare industry
significantly impacts the social aspect of dental health insurance. Recently a Pew
Research Center Study identified that 51% of adult patients would feel more valued
through online health communication (Trader). Another 41% of surveyed citizens
said that social media would help determine their choice of health insurance
(Trader). As the population is able to gain access to information more easily, social
media is influencing and informing more people on dental healthcare. According to
Paw Research, only 26% of hospitals in the United States use social media (Trader).
The PEST Social aspect has easily become the most relevant to the dental healthcare
industry.
The economical impact is directly related to the through laws and policies in
politics. Health insurance is steadily changing as a result of a federal statute called
the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). This is requiring
approximately 30 million new Americans to obtain health insurance in 2014. More
individual health care plans are being bought instead of the usual employer group
plans. The well known Blue Cross Blue Shield plan had 59% of the healthcare
market before ACA, while it currently is claiming only 24% (Wayne). The American
Student Dental Association is expecting approximately 3 million children to obtain
dental benefits by 2018 (ASDA).
Arundel Partners Investment Analysis Essay
Arundel Partners Investment Analysis
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Background
The proposed business venture, Arundel Partners, is an investment group which
would purchase the sequels rights associated with all films produced by 1 or more
selected U.S. movie production studios for a specified period of time, or a
specified number of films. As your investment analysts, our goal is to assess the
value of the sequel rights to allow a determination of the value of the overall
investment as well as a reasonable price per film for the sequel rights.

A sequel is typically released to theaters 3 years after the orignal film s initial
release. Sequel rights also expire 3 years from the films initial release. Note that
Arundel must declare, based on the profitability of the first release, whether or not it
will produce the sequel, prior to the expiration of the rights at year 4.
RECOMMENDATION
Based on our valuation of the investment, as outlined below in the Analysis portion
of the report, we have determined a per movie value of $8.9 million when
considering purchasing the rights to the entire portfolio of 99 movies analyzed in
the sample data. Based on production of 10 sequels, the per movie value of the
portfolio would be $52.25 million. Our calculations based on the hypothetical
portfolio is that Arundel Partners should make this investment as long as the present
value of the expected cash flows from the sequel revenues exceeds the cost of
production plus the cost of the investment. Depending on what value a studio will
accept as payment per sequel, there appears to be significant profitability in the
investment.
ANALYSIS
As with all options there is more potential profit if the value of the underlying asset
is very volatile. Purchasing sequel rights prior to release of the films

them to be free from British rule. He protested openly and was arrested several
times, and eventually killed during a protest. He fought bravely and faithfully for
what he believed in, he fought for what he thought was wrong and the ways to make

Punjab was adversely affected by the commission because the Arya Samaj was
extremely active in the field of education. After the commission, it became
impossible for the people to have any say in their children s education. Lala
declared that The Government, by these new regulations, has made it almost
impossible for the Private Education Societies to start schools or improve them.
People are compelled to conclude that the Government does not want to spend
money for educational work, nor can they endure that Indians should voluntarily
undertake this work by spending money, unless the Indians hand over their money
and efforts to the Government. It would have been impossible for institutions like
the Metropolitan College, Calcutta College, Fergusson College, Poona and D.A.V.

the struggle against division of Bengal. Along with Surendra Nath Banerjea, Bipin
Chandra Pal and Arvinda Ghosh, he aroused Bengal and the nation in a vigorous
campaign of swadeshi. The British Government claimed that partition would make
administering the region easier. The leaders saw through this excuse as the age old
British policy of divide and rule at work. Lala was arrested on May 3, 1907 for
creating turmoil in Rawalpindi. Lala went there when he learned that five prominent
Indian lawyers had been served notices by the Deputy Commissioner. The

Organization Design in FMC Green River Essay
Organization Design in FMC Green River
Organization design is a formal, guided process for integrating the people,
information and technology of an organization. It is used to match the form of the
organization as closely as possible to the purpose of the organization. This design
process seeks to improve and facilitate the efforts of members within the organization.
With respect to FMC Corporation s Green River, Wyoming facility, under the
guidance of this entity s site manager, Kenneth Dailey, the design should be

Therefore, a team was sent to the Aberdeen market in order to evaluate this plant s

In analyzing the ability of management of Aberdeen, one may note that this facility
can be described as laid back and easygoing. As begun with the initial Aberdeen
plant manager, Bob Lancaster, then proceeded by Jeff Bust and finally Roger
Campbell, Aberdeen was managed as a family instead of a simple work plant. As
noted within Clawson s, Custom Business Resources, Aberdeen was built on trust of
every employee. Lancaster s view was to manage in a manner to eliminate fear in his
employees and instead increase productivity and potential beneficial risk taking, by
organizing self directing work teams, expecting the employees to assume and exercise

for every division with respective team leaders elected to help manage the family.
Management made their employees feel trusted and implemented an almost self

mouth in which he is cut, torn, and grinded into pieces through mechanical digestion,
in which Bella can swallow by her teeth. Bella s saliva then helps her soften,
moisten, and break down the starches of Ebenezer so that she is ready to swallow

Ebenezer, Bella closes a trap door in her throat known as the epiglottis. Suddenly,
Ebenezer is in her pharynx, which hands him to her esophagus, which carries him to
Similarities Between Othello And Iago
As we read Othello in class Iago reminded me of a character named Lotso from the
movie Toy Story 3 that was released in 2010. He reminded me of Lotso because in
Toy story 3, he gained the trust of the toys at the daycare as well as Andy s toys, he
then manipulated them, and lastly turned them against one another. In OthelloIago
manipulated the characters easily because they knew him as honest Iago and
never doubted anything he said. He pretended to be everyone s friend, and he also
turned Othello against Desdemona and Cassio by using the fact that Othello was
easily angered from jealousy. Iago did all of this because he wanted to punish
Othello for not making him the lieutenant and to get rid of Cassio so that he could
claim the position of lieutenant. These are the most apparent similarities between
the two characters. Like Iago, Lotso felt like he was thrown away and replaced by a
new bear or in Iago s situation Cassio. Lotso then convinces the toys that he is lost
with that they should move on and go somewhere where they will be appreciated
(Unkrich, Toy Story3). The toys then end up at a Day Care and Lotso convinces the
other toys at the daycare that he should be their leader. In Othello Iago gets upset
with Othello because he makes Cassio the lieutenant while Iago feels that he is
more qualified for the job and has been fighting alongside Othello for years. Iago
makes Othello believe that his lieutenant Cassio is sleeping with his wife Desdemona
and he sets it up
Dbq on Differences Between New England and Chesapeake
Area...
Two unique societies were constructed by people of common origin. These English
colonists immigrated to the New World for either economic prosperity or religious
freedom. During colonization, two regions were formed, New England and the
Chesapeake Bay area. The two contrasting societies of New England and
Chesapeake region were the results of diversity of: social and familystructure; health
and living conditions; economy; religionand beliefs; and government policies.
As stated in Document A, unity was encouraged among New Englanders, which
developed into close societies. The close societies often built a bond of trust within
the community, knowing that neighbors would come together during times of
danger. Document A also... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Longer lifetimes resulted in society stability since families were formed and

Document F states, The worst [among us were the gold seekers who] with their
golden promises made all men their slaves in hope of recompenses. This quote
displays the major motive of emigrants to the Chesapeake region as gold seekers, or
monetary prosperity. Documents G and H show that there were many indentured
servants in the Chesapeake area. These indentured servants were often used for the
tobacco farms. Since the soil was infertile in New England, the colonists there often
focused on trade, small scale manufacturing, fishing, and other sea industries. The
economy of each region impacted its social structure, which many indentured
servants and slaves in the Chesapeake region while there was much more equality in
New England.
Documents A, D, and E stress the importance of religion in New England societies.
Document A refers to working for God and follow what God has set for them to
do. The New Englanders also have beliefs that hard work was necessary and high
morals were needed. They also believed in literacy and education. Document D
states, We intend by God s grace, as soon as we can, with all convenient speed, to
procure some Godly and faithful minister with whom we purpose to join in church
covenant to walk in all ways of Christ. Document
Characteristics Of Nocturnal Animals
Nocturnal animals are more active at night than daytime. These animals sleep
during daytime and hunt their food at night. They have special adaptation that
helps them to survive at night. They prefer to come out at night to escape the
daytime heat though some nocturnal animals can be seen during the day and
others spend the whole day resting or sleeping. There are millions of animals and
some of it is nocturnal animals. We haven t discovered all of it and other nocturnal
animals become extinct as years passed by, mainly because of their declining habitat
and human encroachment of land for developmental projects. The deforestation is
one example of it. They cut trees that result to lose the animal s habitats though they
did that for human s sake. We, humans, need enough space especially our
population is getting bigger as years passed by. As they are losing their habitats,
they don t have a choice but to go near our area and as our self defense we kill them.

First the predators, if it were daytime, they would easily spotted especially if their
predators live in trees or can fly. Small animals have better chance of going unnoticed
as they forage for food and water at night. Second is the prey that comes out at night,
which happens to be a nocturnal also. It is hard to hunt food at night but predators
usually equip with great hearing and eyesight. Others use echolocation to hunt food.
Next is the competition. There is less competition at night. A diurnal, animals that is
more active at night, hunts their food at daytime and a nocturnal animal hunts their
food at night. In this way, both species have a chance to hunt their food without
fighting each other. Last, the temperature. Some animals, like in desserts, are
nocturnal to avoid the daytime heat. They sleep at night when the temperature is high
and comes out at night when the temperature is

Studies have shown that people who are the most religious believe more in magic and superstitious. If we are so focused on a powerful God who controls our destiny, why do we not wonder who created? questions like this come from those who have the strongest; belief in God himself (Carter 4). 70 percent of church goers do not fully believe in the back of their religion, or believe or what is supposed to happen after their death (Carter 5). Saks Fifth Avenue Ad Analysis Most of the successful companies in this generation and previous generations as well, do not gain their fame by producing the best merchandise but earn a good reputation and fame by being the best at advertising their products. If a company tends to have the best quality products and does not advertise them, no one might ever know unless the company makes the world know about it. If their advertisement is not effective, then they shall waste their already limited resources and end up closing down. Therefore, advertisements have to be explicit and noticeable at first sight. The advertisement on Saks Fifth Avenue in the New Yorker magazine is effective because the visual is attractive, the texts are well organized, the colors are well placed and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, the visual is attractive and eye catching because the use of colors is strategic. The advertisement on Saks Fifth Avenue portrays a lady in a polka dot dress, composed of black and white, with a piano in the background. Moreover, there are writings on the picture with Saks Fifth Avenue (Advertisement) in bold large fonts and the location of the shop at the bottom. A shallow interpretation of the advertisement will be that it represents a clothing line for simple yet outgoing ladies. This plays an important role because, if the colors used where both dull, then neither the lady nor the writing will present conspicuous. As a result, since both colors used were extreme, it brings out the important information printed in white very clearly. Likewise, the white and black color displayed suits the theme of the advertisement. It brings out the purpose and elegance in

Whereas, Fresno schools have been taking hits for their schools having higher drop out rates and not producing college ready students. Clovis schools, which are best known for having all rich white kids could help explain why their schools have higher graduation rates and more college ready students because statistics clearly show that income and location greatly impact the quality of education that person is going to receive. Judith had the imagination and ability to produce creative works just like her brother. However, Judith never had any education so she wasn t able to thrive. In short, the story goes like this: Judith s father arranges a marriage for her, Judith runs away from home and goes to the city, she tries to live out her dream and act, she gets laughed at, she has an affair, and then Judith kills herself at the crossroads. The fact that Judith kills herself at the crossroads has great symbolism. The crossroads represents choice. The urge to buy is hedonically complex and often may fuel emotional conflict. Also, impulse buying is likely to occur with reduced concern for its consequences. • 27. Jean-Baptiste Oudry The artist that I will be focusing on is Jean Baptiste Oudry, a French artist who focused mainly on painting animals. He was born in Paris, France on March 17, 1686 and died on April 30, 1755 in Beauvais, France. He was a French Rococo painter and specialized in painting animals. Oudry first studied portrait paintingwith Nicolas de LargilliГЁre. And later met Jean Baptiste MassГ©. Through MassГ©, he made many connections and one that made his reputation, Louis XV. Oudry created Louis XV hunting a deer in the Forest of Saint Germain for the king and was later asked to produce more paintings for the king. Oudry uses elements of art such as texture and shape. The dog s fur are depicted by soft lines used by Oudry. He also uses shape to show objects and represent what they are. Oudry also uses principles of art such as proportion and emphasis. Here, we can see that both dogs are about the same size to show than either of them are the weak or stronger one. He also uses emphasis on the dogs to show that this painting only focuses on the dogs and the background objects are not as emphasized because of their size or positioning in this
  • 28. The Devil In The White City Analysis In the novel The Devil in the White City, Author Erik Larson uses imagery, irony, and juxtaposition to parallel the good and evil sides of the city of Chicago during the 1893 World s Fair. Larson takes a more upbeat, joyous tone while following the story of Burnham and the architects designing the World Fair, but the tone turns much darker when perspectives change and we follow the plot of H.H. Holmes, America s first known serial killer. Using rhetorical devices like imagery, diction, and syntax, Larson is able to paint a picture of Chicagofrom both the good and evil side, setting a more serious and ominous tone for the novel. Using imagery, Larson is able to paint vivid illustrations to shed light on the existence of both good and evil... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Larson uses irony when he states that the fair had begun with death and how it had ended with death (Larson 332). The beginning of the fair had many issues with construction and was essentially failing to attract as many visitors as needed, as well as being the very beginning of the murderous intentions of H.H. Holmes, hence the fair [beginning] with death. The fair also literally ended with death at the very end of the novel, when Mayor Harrison is murdered, and a funeral was what ended the fair. Larson also uses irony when calling the fair perfect, the grace and beauty was so great that nobody believed that anything truly bad could happen to anyone, anywhere during the duration of the fair (Larson 289). The words used here demonstrate irony in that while spectators believed that nothing bad could happen during the fair, much darker things were going on just behind the curtain of beauty that the fair set up. The grace and beauty of the fair blinded the public from noticing the steadily rising count of women who went missing, so that Holmes was able to murder without attracting too much attention to himself. The irony used by Larson captures the view of the fair as a wonderful experience, but under all the fancy lights and amazing sights, an underlying darkness is consuming the city of

When you observe carefully, you realise that you find a large amount of successful females at workplaces. You see quite a lot of women that have full time work positions regardless of their ages. It is unusual for people from another cultures to see women taking roles in society. Perhaps due to their religious backgrounds which do not see women outside of the house favourably or simply difference in cultures in which women usually stay at homeand taking charge of household chores. A recent article supports the idea why men are not suitable for domestic chores even though they are willing to be participated in one. According to a survey that was conducted to 2,000 randomly picked women, women spend average of three hours to re do what men has done due to low quality job presented. (Carlson, 2012) It could be explained due to traditional aspects that women are usually doing household chores whilst men are out there to make money to support the family. However, the modern British society does not allow it. Women are more socially active and when they are a part of work forces, it is not always easy for them to focus on work and domestic chores at the same time. One interesting fact in this article states that women think men are usually incompetent in what they do when it comes to household chores and women often think that they could do better. (Carlson, 2012) Considering household jobs are not usually complicated and does not require special set of skills that can only be acquired under supervisions of professionals, it is just viewed as women pursuing for perfection in what they do and men do not realise how crucial proper help from them. After all, even though men are willing to share household duties with women, on women s side, it is not necessarily helpful for them and it comes back to the original point where women have enough time to grow their children, do household chores, go to work and be socially active
  • 30. What Is The Consumption In The Masque Of The Red Death Edgar Allen Poe, completely transformed the horror genre with his tales reflecting the psychological depth and insight of the the human conditon not previously seen (Poe Museum, no date). Despite his alignment with the horror genre, he was initially taken in by the romantic ideals of consumption. This is portrayed in one of his early short stories, Metzengerstein , from 1832, where despite the majority of the story following many gothic conventions, the protaganist s mother dies of consumption. The narrrator of the story asserts that ...it is a path I have prayed to follow...I would wish all I love to perish of that gentle disease when referring to the mother s impending death. The narrator s desperation to die from consumption is implied through the use of the verb prayed . This verb has connotations of wishing or hoping strongly for a particular outcome (Oxford Dictionaries, 2017): despite the horrific and drawn out process of the disease that we now understand in the 21st Century, this character still desires it thus reflecting the general insensitivty towards the disease. Although influenced early in his career by the romanticized stance on consumption, he changed his portrayal of the disease completely in his short storyThe Masque of the Red Death , published in 1842. Very little had advanced in the medical understanding of consumption, but between Poe writing the aforementioned text and The Masque of the Red Death , his own wife had contracted the disease

  • 34. Individuality In Anthem Ego a person s sense of self esteem or self importance. Also known as the forbidden word of the totalitarian society created by Ayn Rand in Anthem. In Rand s 1938 novel, her main character, Equality 7 2125 unknowingly followed the path of individuality, which was against the wishes of society. Proving that knowledge is a product of the observations and mental integrations of individuals, he rebelled against the ideals his society chained him with. He found his ego and sense of self, amidst a world who deemed it a sin to do so. Through the point of view/narration, themes, characterization and conflicts, Rand wanted to convey the dangers of a failed government, and the need for individuality. When beginning the novel, Rand uses a first person point of view, yet instead of the common plural forms of, I and My , she has the narrator use, We and Our. Equality was taught that individuality didn t exist, and instead that all men must be alike, therefore there is only, we. Upon reading this, it seems as if Rand was writing about multiple people, yet this is how the society must address themselves, because no man gets singled out. The plural forms remain the same, until the beginning of chapter eleven, where Equality finally discovers the form of, I . This type of narration allowed the ideals of society to be made apparent, and progressed the plot in Equality s search of individuality. Individualism and collectivism are two core themes that are present in the novel. It s as if these two themes work against each other, in order to obtain individuality, you must get rid of collectivism, and vice versa. As Equality lives through his days, he discovers his unspoken lover, the Golden One , and begins to explore egotistical thoughts, where his curiosity grew even greater. In chapter nine, Equality began finally discovering individuality, where he was torn on finding the certain word that society had hidden. And we felt torn, torn for some word we could not find. (Rand 112) In the beginning of chapter eleven, after finding a home from the unmentionable times, he had discovered individuality within the form of I , and his mind opened up to the many great things of this world. Introduction The blood is a very important fluid of our body that has many different ways that keep us healthy. It transports important nutrients and oxygen to our cells and acts in the process of removing wastes and carbon dioxide from the body.( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) Also, this specialized fluid helps in defending the body by forming blood clots as a result of a wounded blood vessel and carrying various cells that are crucial to our health. An average human body s weight is made of seven to eight percent blood.( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) The blood is made of different components that perform different actions. It is made of 55 percent plasma and 45 percent cells. ( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) The blood is liquidy due to the presence of plasma. It is composed of water, proteins, fats, and salts. • 37. Donne s The Sun Rising and Marvell s To His Coy Mistress John Donne was one of the most influential poets of the seventeenth century. His often comical poems contain intricate dual meanings and his religious (divine) poetry is convincing and beautiful. Andrew Marvell also wrote during the same period as John Donne and the two worked on similar important matters concerning humanity throughout their careers. Both are classified as metaphysical poets, meaning the poetry employs paradoxes, and is highly intellectualized, marked by bold and ingenious conceits, according to the Merriam Webster dictionary. Donne s The Sun Rising and Marvell s To His Coy Mistress are both based on a similar metaphysical principle and achieve a coherent response from the reader. However, the underlying meanings of Donne s and Marvell s poems are vastly different. Donne implies that perfect loveis not at all perfect and, while both poets have a sentiment of carpe diem within these poems, Marvell s subject is lacking something in his romantic relationship, unlike Donne s subject. The two poets challenge the authority of the time and imply that, although love transcends authority, it is necessary for there to be an imbalance of power in relationships, suggesting that perfect love is idealized and unrealistic. In the beginning of Donne s poem, the subject dismisses the sun as unimportant, personifying it by calling the sun a busy old fool. However, it is obvious that the sun is the authority figure that the subject is attempting to ignore.

Stress is the body s reaction to your environment that impacts the balance of your physical or mental being. Stress is the same for the body whether considered positive or negative. It elicits the same body responses for emotionand motivation whether it is from competitive sports or a near miss on the freeway. Emotion and motivation are the two fundamental components of affect. They guide behavior and help you make decisions; and they can also impact mental and physical health. (Saylor Academy, ND) How your body and brain interpret stress, and the intensity and duration of that stress are all factors in your wellbeing. When strong emotion or motivation occurs the sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system response is to supply energy for your body, which is experienced as arousal. This is done by the release of the stress hormones epinephrine and norepinephrine. The liver puts sugar into the bloodstream; your heart pounds pumping more blood; your breathing rate increases; the pupils of your eyes dilate to increase help with sight; and you begin to sweat. The body is reacting to outside stimuli and preparing to respond in case of danger. (Saylor Academy, ND) An emotion is a mental and overall feeling of the body that grabs focus and determines behavior. There is a slow and a fast emotional pathway in the brain. Both pathways are controlled by the

A sequel is typically released to theaters 3 years after the orignal film s initial release. Sequel rights also expire 3 years from the films initial release. Note that Arundel must declare, based on the profitability of the first release, whether or not it will produce the sequel, prior to the expiration of the rights at year 4. RECOMMENDATION Based on our valuation of the investment, as outlined below in the Analysis portion of the report, we have determined a per movie value of $8.9 million when considering purchasing the rights to the entire portfolio of 99 movies analyzed in the sample data. Based on production of 10 sequels, the per movie value of the portfolio would be $52.25 million. Our calculations based on the hypothetical portfolio is that Arundel Partners should make this investment as long as the present value of the expected cash flows from the sequel revenues exceeds the cost of production plus the cost of the investment. Depending on what value a studio will accept as payment per sequel, there appears to be significant profitability in the investment. ANALYSIS As with all options there is more potential profit if the value of the underlying asset is very volatile. Purchasing sequel rights prior to release of the films

  • 54. Similarities Between Othello And Iago As we read Othello in class Iago reminded me of a character named Lotso from the movie Toy Story 3 that was released in 2010. He reminded me of Lotso because in Toy story 3, he gained the trust of the toys at the daycare as well as Andy s toys, he then manipulated them, and lastly turned them against one another. In OthelloIago manipulated the characters easily because they knew him as honest Iago and never doubted anything he said. He pretended to be everyone s friend, and he also turned Othello against Desdemona and Cassio by using the fact that Othello was easily angered from jealousy. Iago did all of this because he wanted to punish Othello for not making him the lieutenant and to get rid of Cassio so that he could claim the position of lieutenant. These are the most apparent similarities between the two characters. Like Iago, Lotso felt like he was thrown away and replaced by a new bear or in Iago s situation Cassio. Lotso then convinces the toys that he is lost with that they should move on and go somewhere where they will be appreciated (Unkrich, Toy Story3). The toys then end up at a Day Care and Lotso convinces the other toys at the daycare that he should be their leader. In Othello Iago gets upset with Othello because he makes Cassio the lieutenant while Iago feels that he is more qualified for the job and has been fighting alongside Othello for years. Iago makes Othello believe that his lieutenant Cassio is sleeping with his wife Desdemona and he sets it up
