The Heroes Deed Analysis
What s the difference between a hero and a regular person? Joseph Campbell describes the difference
as the way you respond to the trials in front of you, the way you answer the heroes deed . The heroes
deed, as described by Campbell, is overcoming the challenges you are faced with in a way that uplifts
those around you. Often times you are challenged to respond to things for the first time, what
Campbell describes as an original experience. This can be problematic because as humans we tend to
like things that are habitual and comfortable, both of which make it difficult to be pushed outside of
our comfort zone. There is something heroic about embracing the heroes deed not knowing what could
happen. The heroes deed allows us to enter new boundaries

The Environment Is An Important Aspect Of Shaping People...
Signage Environment Environment is an important aspect in shaping people and objects. The
environment can contribute to the presentation of a signage of an establishment to sell merchandise or
food. To make a place presentable, people usually focus on the environment that it s in. Whether the
environment is unkempt or upscale will determine if cliental will eat or shop there. For example, if
someone were to go to a restaurant they ve never been to, they d be observant of the surroundings.
They would question if the restaurant looked clean, if the food was safe to eat, if the people who make
the food are clean, and if the restaurant itself was presentable. When people go to famous eateries,
they expect the consistency in each restaurant. It s good for the business itself to keep its consistency
for travelers and returning customers.
Greenville, Texas The town of Greenville is well known in the East Dallas area. This town is much
larger than the surrounding towns such as Caddo Mills and Lone Oak, so it has more shopping places
and eateries. People who are from the smaller towns see Greenville as their metropolitan area, they see
job opportunities when they go there and a variety of choices. But some parts of Greenville aren t as
prospering, such as Downtown Greenville. This part of Greenville is much older and isn t as popular
as the part that stands through I 30, so not many people go there to eat. Although each franchise of an
eatery should be alike to each other, they

Essay on Exploring Time Travel
An essential requirement for the possibility of time travel is the presumption that future and past were
somehow real. But according to one popular view only the present is real, and to suppose that the past
or future are also real is to suppose that the past and the future are also present a contradiction.
According to this sort of Heraclitean metaphysical conception, the future is genuinely open: there is
no realm of determinate future fact, no denizens of the future to identify or talk about, though of
course in the fullness of time there will be. Travel to the future on this view would be ruled out
because there is simply nowhere to go.
The past, though, is spoken of as fixed and determinate and not subject to change. ... Show more

(Ayer 1956, p. 158).
It is well known that chronological discrepancies arise in connection with the special and general
theories of relativity, quite independently of the question of time travel. But relativistic chronological
discrepancies are benign in way that time travel discrepancies are not. What would count as a case of
travelling into the past? We can conceive that after a certain time having experiences which are
exactly like those of 1920. It is just this kind of thought experiment that makes time travel
conceivable. But we would not be compelled to treat such experiences as decisive evidence of having
traveled into the past. They might be taken as evidence of serious cognitive disorder, for example.
David Lewis has argued that time travel stories are perfectly coherent and it is instructive to examine
his defense of the possibility of time travel. Lewis does not reject, but accept the reality of future and
past. The world we live in, according to Lewis, is a Parmenidean world: a four dimensional manifold
of events and the occupants of the world are four dimensional aggregates of stages timelike streaks
(1976, p. 145). However a time traveler is not like other aggregates; if he travels towards the past he is
a zig zag streak (1976, p. 146). There might also be stretched out streaks which are travelers into

Summary Of The Man I Killed
Kiowa was against it, he felt like it was wrong and since he was religious he felt like setting up camp
and base of operations in a church was bad news. Dobbins however wasn t all that religious, he
believed in god but it was just being nice to people that mattered to him. Kiowa grew up loving
churches and carrying The Bible around but Dobbins hated churches.
2. What is the meaning of the washing motion of the younger monk? Is it the same when Dobbins
does it? I think the washing motion is just a show of courtesy or kindness, maybe even hello, goodbye,
or thank you. When Dobbins did the washing motion, I believe it was an act of respect just like when
the monks did it.
3. The image of the monk cleaning an M 60 is incongruous and jarring. What purpose does it serve in
the story? The purpose is to contrast culture in the U.S to the culture in Vietnam. When people picture
monks they picture peace, prayer, and silence not cleaning guns or having anything to do with
violence. I think it s a case of situational irony because monks wouldn t be cleaning M 60 s. Chapter

Brien is just staring at the dead body and not speaking, which shows he s traumatized. Kiowa

Reflection Of The Curriculum Portfolio
How well does your portfolio reflect the course goals and requirements (as defined in the syllabus)?
My portfolio is able to meet the course goals because it clearly describes my personal goals in both
positions. They are both tailored to the position that I am applying for, in that they take words from the
application in my short answer and cover letter specifically. I worked to make my online presence
more professional with a fairly distinct change in my profile, that prior focused on my current job, that
now looks forward to the positions that I hope to achieve. With my research of the audiences, I found
two positions that I think will provide me with skills and experiences that will help me reach my
future goals as well. The requirements according to the syllabus as to having a copyedited final
version is met in this draft also, and the audience is kept in mind in all citations. This material has
been submitted on time, and includes all required portions therefore meeting the remaining

Such kind of factors can influence Goldman Sachs depending upon the context in which it is

SWOT analysis
Organizational capabilities are formed when a firm utilizes its resources efficiently and effectively.
For example Goldman Sachs would be able to deliver outstanding customer services by helping the
firms to reduce its debt load. This and other factors help to determine the core competence of
Goldman Sachs.
Furthermore, there are tools in strategic management that helps in analysing the core competencies of
a firm. For example one of the tools that help in analysing the current economic position of firm is
SWOT analysis. Further, it consists of specifying the project and helps to spot the internal and external
factors that are favourable and unfavourable to achieving that objective. The strengths and weaknesses
usually can be arisen from within an organisation, and the opportunities and threats from external
sources could be seen (Pettinger, 2004). Based on the above discussion SWOT analysis model has
been used to determine the core competencies of Goldman Sachs.

The Evolution Of Jerusalem As A Sacred Space
The Evolution of Jerusalem as a Sacred Space The present day Jerusalem is not only a religious center
for the three major religions Judaism, Christianity, and Islam but also one of the most disputed spaces
due to the Israeli Palestinian conflict. While the city s religious significance alone attracts enough
pilgrims to support its economy, modern Jerusalem prospers with the additional tourists intrigued by
the historical landmarks, such as the Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock. However, rather than a
miracle happened overnight, the social and economic status of Jerusalem was obtained through a
process of evolution, parts of which were recorded by the Hebrew Bible. Even though the Bible may
be a collection of narratives constructed by the ancient cultures to explain the origins of life, and thus
are more mythical than realistic, many biblical accounts are actually based on genuine historic events
and can be used for references. In the case of Jerusalem, which was merely a minor Canaanite city
state before the intrusion of the Israelites, the Bible presents evidence that the city, with its suitable
geographic characteristics, gradually developed into a sacred place of great political and religious
significance over history. In particular, two factors differentiate Jerusalem from the profane space
around it: David s choice to designate the city as the capital of the United Kingdom of Israel and
Judah, and Solomon s construction of the Temple, which housed the Ark of the

The Medical Science Of Cardiology

The Medical Science of Cardiology Have you ever felt your heart race after a run, or when you watch
a movie, your heart stops? Well, your heart is an incredibly important organ within the human body
that keeps you alive and helps run your body. The heart is such an important component of the body. If
something goes wrong, it needs to be taken care of immediately; this urgent job is given to
cardiologists. Cardiology is the medical science of treatment of the heart. This science is filled with
specialists known as cardiologists. A cardiologist is a doctor with special training and skill in finding,
treating and preventing diseases of the heart and blood vessels (What is a Cardiologist?). When
becoming a cardiologist, you may choose to specialize in a certain area. Within the broad spectrum of
cardiology, there are many subspecialties, or sub branches within the field. Sub branches within
cardiology include the following: electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, general clinical
cardiology, nuclear cardiology, heart failure and transplant cardiology, preventative cardiology, and
many more. Electrophysiology focuses on irregular heartbeats and timing. Interventional cardiologists
specialize in treating cardiovascular disease, heart problems that the patient has had since birth, and
angioplasty and stenting. General clinical cardiologists target management and prevention of diseases.

Athletes Should Not Be Allowed In College
If you were an athlete going to play professional sports, academics wouldn t be as foremost as hitting
the weights. A college is an academic place for higher learning and it should not be a prerequisite
place to play professional sports. However, if an athlete is to be severely injured, the injury may ruin
their opportunity to play and make a career in sports. Then all they will have left will be their
education. While some athletes are attending college, they only care about playing the sport.

However, 5 year T Bill rates are currently at 6.02%. Combined with a current stock volatility of
approximately 42%, this allows each option to be valued at approximately $4.93.
At this amount, Ms. Jameson s options would be presently worth $14,790 were she to sell them.

Employees would be given successive stock options to promote their care for the company without
feeling as though they are being forced to stay with the organization. This set up of granting stock
options would also help to encourage performance of employees to lead to both the short and long

4. If Ms. Jameson decided that the option was a better deal, but was concerned with being too
committed and reliant on the fortunes of Telstar, she could modify her compensation package to better
suit her individual needs. Ms. Jameson would be taking considerable risk by keeping all of her bonus
in Telstar for stock options with such a lengthy expiration date and also due to the historical data of
Telstar showing that only stock prices reached $35 (the exercise price) only once.
Instead of holding on to all 3,000 issued stock options, Ms. Jameson could keep a portion of the stock
options and trade some in the market. Keeping some Telstar stock options would help keep her tied to
the company without making her feel that she is bound to the company for the next five years or that

Femme Fatale Analysis
The largely stereotyped femme fatale is often generalised as being a piece of the classic genre of film
noir. But as much as the femme fatale is seen as representative of noir, and vice versa, when analyzing
the characteristics of noir the classic hard edged American film the presence of a femme fatale
interferes with the very idea of, as Angela Martin would say, hardboiled film noir. Films such as
Mildred Pierce, Gilda, and Klute, though objectively different, hold a commonality in that they all
present some aspects of film noir while not being seen as entirely so. Mildred Pierce presents
flashback narration and shots dominated by shadows, Gilda uses the well known role of the femme
fatale, but deviates from classic noir by presenting aspects of the femme fatal in two decidedly
different characters. And finally, Klute uses the trope of noir characters torn by psychological
dilemmas and internal discourse along with many other comparably noir characteristics while still
seeming to exist outside of the film noir genre. Dark and shadowy mise en scene shots are
characteristic of film noir, setting the tone for the sense of hopelessness that is often ingrained in the
narrative of classic noir. Along with what Sylvia Harvey describes as, ...the prevalence of shadows and
areas of darkness within the frame, the visual tension created by curious camera angles... , noir often
includes narrative voice overs, especially flashback narration. When analyzing Michael Curtiz s 1945

Daniel Shays As An American Officer
Daniel Shays
Daniel Shays served role as an American officer in the American Revolution from 1775 to 1780 and
also became known as one of the leaders of Shays Rebellion, which lasted from 1786 to 1787. In 1780
he resigned from the army, and settled in Pelham, Massachusetts, where he held numerous town
offices. Soon after, wealth reigned in America at the signing of the peace treaty in 1783, but was
quickly transformed into a severe economic depression. He began his rebellion when property holders,
including himself, began losing their belongings through confiscations for unpaid debts and taxes and
became subject to debtor s imprisonment. Protests then followed, with threats of violence against the
courts conducting the enforcements and arraignments. This is when Shays arose as one of the several
leaders of what came to be known as Shays Rebellion. After the Rebellion was over, he and
approximately a dozen others were sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Massachusetts.
However, towards the end of the rebellion, Shays had escaped to Vermont, soon afterwards he moved
to Schoharie county, New York, and then a few years later moved further west to Sparta, New York.
Shays, in his old age, was granted a retirement pension by the federal government for the five years he
served in the Continental Army without pay. He lived the last couple years of his life in poverty, as a
heavy drinker and supported himself on his pension by working a small piece of land. He later

What Is The Difference Between Andy Fish And Rumble Fish
While Andy Jackson from Tears of a Tiger sand Rusty James from Rumble Fish both seem lonely,
they differ because Andy is pessimistic while Rusty James is dependent. In both books, the characters

throughout the book. Rusty James relies on people helping him get out of trouble. Characterization
plays an important role in the reader s understanding of character development.
Readers of both Tears of a Tiger and Rumble Fish find both Rusty James and Andy Jackson lonely. In
the book Tears of a Tiger, it stated But I get to Robbie, I couldn t get to him. This demonstrates that

Crews from the ships would be held captive and tortured for years and months on end. The United
States tried their hardest to keep the peace in line but nothing was working. So the United States army
set off on the USS George Washington to Algerines and Tripoli to settle things. A man by the name of
Thomas Jefferson was inaugurated as president in the year of 1801 and not long after he would send
warships to Tripoli and confront the pirates face to face for their doings. This caused a blockade so no
pirates would be able to attack the merchant ships. What this action would do was not what Jefferson
thought would happen but as an outcome an all out war broke loose between Jefferson s army and the
Tripoli pirates and their allies. The war would go on and on off the coast. The blockade only held for
so long. Finally the pirates would make their way through and ships started to come up on shore. The
USS Philadelphia hit shore in Tripoli s harbor and the pirates captured it. A young navy member then
snuck onto the ship and set it on fire during an enemy gun fire, destroying any goods the pirates could
get their hands on or even stop them from rebuilding the ship and turning it against the United States
Navy. The war would continue for a while until finally peace agreements were made and the U.S
Navy fled the scene. This whole action by Jefferson showed braveness in not only him but the U.S

Social Motivation Of Social Ministry
Introduction Many churches have moved beyond the atonement only gospel to become socially
involved in their community in providing ministries such as, relief services, personal development
services and community development services. This strategy, of social involvement by the church has
been welcomed by many and has increased positive perception of the church and by extension
amplified the impact of the church. But, what is the motivation behind these social involvements of
the church. Is it something that they do in order to be more effective and relevant in sharing the
gospel? Or is it something they do because it is genetically linked to their faith? In this paper, the
writer will argue that in principle, social ministry should not be done as a means to make the church
relevant. That is, the motivation behind church based social interventions should not be solely based
on being relevant in order to be more effective in carrying out its mission, which is to make disciples.
The writer proposes that social ministry ought to be a natural outworking of the church. As such, a
church cannot be considered authentic if it is not involved in social ministry. Self benefit Motivation If
the church is motivated to be socially involved because of the need to make the ministry of church
relevant, in order to be more effective in carrying out its mission, then the focus is not on the need of
the person or community but, rather it is on the church achieving its missional goal. In this

However some operators have reversed this, and are paid by local governments to land at some

Media has a great impact on customer s choices. Budget airlines have recently been mentioned by the
Media as the least environmentally friendly way to travel. In society concern with green issues budget
airlines may need to switch in close future their marketing focus from rock bottom fares to
environmental responsibility.
Key microenvironmental issues likely to occur in next 3 years:

The success of budget airlines forced traditional operators to lower their prices by adapting internet
sales and yield management techniques. However they still struggle to compete with low prices
offered by the LCCs. Further reductions in traditional airline ticket prices are expected.
The railways are likely to remain dominant for short journeys as most of the LCCs use small airports,
which are often difficult to reach without a car. Rail operators are also improving offered services and
cutting down their ticket prices by selling through the internet and allowing passengers to find lower
fares when booking in advance.
The LCCs are a serious threat to regular airlines. British Midlands responded to the competition by
launching its own budget airline bmi baby . Following its success more traditional carriers may decide
in future to launch their own no frills airlines.

Alexander Grant Quaoar Case Study
On August 5th 2031, Alexander Grant was launched on a mission to the Kuiper Belt Object 50000
Quaoar. Quaoar ( Kwawar ) is primarily a rocky planet with a density of 2.2 g/cm2, setting it apart
from its icy neighbors. Its small size and high density made it a prime target for extraterrestrial
mining. Grant s propose on Quaoar was to prospect the planet and set up autonomous miners for the
soon to be Tongva Mining Facility.
Alex Grant s 6 billion kilometer journey to the outer reaches of the solar system was to be the longest
continuous spaceflight on record. His spacecraft, Endeavor, was equipped with a solar sail, which
harnesses the radiation and particles shooting off the sun known as solar wind to propel the ship. The
sail, a mirrored ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The explosion on the space station was caused by faulty connection between two modules. The initial
hole in the hull was small, and was blocked by a contingency water container. The container opened a
hole, the water inside boiled, and caused a larger explosion that separated the capsule and killed the
astronaut inside. Such an accident might have ended, or at least delayed, a mission under normal
circumstances. The planets were aligned. If there was to be a mission, it would be on schedule.

On approach to mars, a solar superstorm erupts. A solar flare is a quick release of energy from the Sun
s surface. Flares are classified logarithmically, like the Richter scale, with the highest being X class.
An X10 flare would be ten times as powerful as an X1, and an X1 ten times as powerful as an M1 (the
next lowest letter).
Superstorm causes big problems. Breaks communications on Endeavor, and irradiates Grant. Causes
radiation sickness, and organ failure. Also sped up the ship due to increased radiation for a long period

Underground Railroad Slaves
President John F. Kennedy once said, If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make
the world safe for diversity. This quote explains how one person will never be the same as another.
Furthermore, if we all can accept each other s differences, then our world will be safer for everyone.
Salva was a Sudanese refugee who walked thousands of miles to reach safety from the civil war in
Sudan. Underground railroad slaves were African Americans who escaped working for wealthy slave
owners to find safety, and obtain freedom. Despite the different identities between Salva and an
underground railroad slave, they share a connection of longing for freedom. Salva was an eleven year
old boy who lived in the village of Loun Ariik in Sudan. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A slave s life is one of poverty, no privacy, severe punishments, and cruel working conditions. A slave
s home life on the plantation consisted long hours of hard work, and harsh punishments if they were to
make a mistake. According to a source titled On the Plantation, it states, She say [slaves] didn t need
nothing to eat. They just like animals, not like other folks. She whip me, many time with a cowhide,
till I was black and blue. Some challenges a slave faced during escape was having to travel hundreds
of miles to freedom, and having to be very cautious of being caught by slave hunters. According to a
source titled Escape!, it states, Robert Brown rode another 40 miles through the mud roads. When the
courageous horse gave out, Robert tied him to a fencepost, and walked on. For two days, he dared not
talk to anyone for fear of being arrested. Reaching safety affected a slave because they still had to be
very careful about being caught, since slave hunters were looking for the missing slaves. According to
a source titled Reaching Safety, it states, Anyone who refused to aid in the capture of a fugitive,
interfered with the arrest of a slave, or tried to free a slave already in custody was subject to a heavy
fine and imprisonment. Therefore, freedom impacts a slave because they have a chance to help other

Simon Wiesenthal
A man once said, Technology without hatred can be a blessing. Technology with hatred is always a
disaster (Simon Wiesenthal). Simon is trying to say that social media with hatred is not as enjoyable to
use, where as without hatred it can be resourceful and fun. I agree with this quote because cyber
bullying is nothing to joke about. It can cause death and Simon really speaks out when using this
quote in his writing. Simon Wiesenthal is an author who was born on December 31, 1908 in Buczacz,
Galicia. Simon died on September 20, 2005. The man lived a rough but eventful life, says his spouse
Cyla Muller, who died in 2003. Simons father died in World War 1 as a part of the Austrian Army.

How Is Napoleon Bonaparte A Hero
Napoleon Bonaparte was the French leader in the late 1700s. He is known as an intelligent and clever
military leader. He went to military school at the age of nine, and finished school at the age of 16
eventually becoming a lieutenant in the artillery. Napoleon Bonaparte had many successes and
failures, however his failures overpowered his successes which makes him a tyrant. While leading he
went into many wars and lost many soldiers. By the end many people were not on his side and many
did not believe in what he was doing as the leader of France, therefore making him a villain for
France. Napoleon Bonaparte had many weaknesses as a leader which caused him to have many
defeats. The Directory selected Napoleon to lead the French army in 1796 and this is what got him
started leading France and the people. To defend French trade Napoleon took his army to Europe and
the British army trapped Napoleon and his army. Napoleon manipulated the people by keeping what
had happened out of the news so that he could be known as a great hero to the French people. If he did
not cover up that he was defeated and was trapped the French people might have realized that he
failed at his duty and was not the best for leader for the army. ... Show more content on

country. Its weaknesses was that it got rid of Individual rights which the people just fought for in the

slavery legal again in the French Colonies of the Caribbean. This code might have fixed the injustices
of the recent governments but it also brought slavery back which is a big controversial subject.

When Character Was King Essay
When Character Was King by: Peggy Noonan Ronald Reagan s life wasn t the greatest growing up.
He had some extreme difficulties with his parents and his childhood. His family wasn t categorized in
a social class; they didn t own anything like a farm, store, bank or industry. Ronald Reagan was born
on February 6, 1911 in Illinois, in a town called Tampico, in a one bedroom rental over a bank
building. His mother named him Ronald, but he didn t like it so he asked people to start calling him
what his father called him, Dutch. His father called him that because on the day he was born, his dad
ran up the stairs, looked at him and said that he looked like a fat little Dutchman. He had an older
brother named Neil who was two years older than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They didn t really eat very good meals, especially not like the ones we get today. They ate oatmeal
hamburgers, and his mother made it possible sometimes to make soup last a week. Ronald was never
proud of his childhood; he didn t want to look back at it. He wanted to leave those tough times in the
past. When Ronald was just six years old, World War I came to America. He knew about everything;
he saw the flags, heard the songs and he visited the soldiers when they came to town. Dutch couldn t
really keep friends so he learned not to need them too much. He became more of a reader and
someone who spent hours drawing and imagining. Ronald went to Eureka College, which was a very
small school in a small town in northern Illinois. It was extremely inexpensive for tuition, room and
board but he couldn t afford it even if they d accept him. He fell in love with the Illinois architecture,
Georgian style buildings covered in ivy, acres of land surrounded by trees. He went to Eureka College
one day to convince the president of the school and football coach s that he was terrific football
player, a lifeguard and a very good swimmer. They actually let him in, with a student scholarship and
a job that would pay for his meals and books. He played football and decided to go into campus
politics. He became the leader of a student revolt against deep and sudden campus cutbacks. He was
chosen as speaker for the cause, which made him feel that he could really hold an audience

Evaluating A Remuneration Policy And Selecting Qualified...
Introduction I would like to discuss some of the plans I have established for the company. The points
that I will be discussing today are: formulating a remuneration policy, recruiting and selecting
qualified employees, design and implementation of a compensation and performance management
system, ensuring equal employment opportunities, and developing effective organization and
leadership. One of my main functions would be to formulate a remuneration policy in such a way that
employees give optimal performance and feel they get a fair deal, new employees are attracted to the
organization, and the organization is able to retain existing employees. This serves as a motivation tool
for employees to perform better. In order to arrive at a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will also try to sell the organization to the potential candidates, which is to convince the candidates
that the organization is a good place to work and that we offer what they want in the way of both
tangible and intangible rewards. Attracting and selecting the most qualified employees and matching
them to the jobs for which they are best suited is important for the success of our organization. When
we are selecting the people who will join our workforce, picking the best workers is inherent to this
responsibility. The selection of the best employees will be based not only on the candidates ability,
knowledge, experience and skills to do the specific task needed, but also their professionalism. When
those people work for us, they represent more than just themselves, they are the image of the
organization. In an effort to improve morale and productivity and limit job turnover, they also help the
organization effectively use employee skills, provide training opportunities to enhance those skills,
and boost employee satisfaction with their jobs and working conditions. Understaffing loses the
business economies of scale and specialization, customers, and profits. Overstaffing is wasteful and
expensive. My plan requires that an assessment of present and future needs of the organization be
compared with present resources and future predicted resources. Human Resources Policies In order

next door neighbor, Daisy McAuley, goes to their house to comfort Gail. Daisy treats David
maternally and wants him to leave the scene of the crime. ; So she tell him to go over to her house and
have a piece of pie. While he s there, David encounters the deputy sheriff, Len McAuley. Len is drunk
and reveals the fact that he thought he saw Frank walking into David s house a little while before
Marie was found dead. David discloses this and the fact that, he too, saw Frank. David confesses to
his parents, ...While I was sitting there I saw someone cutting across our backyard. There s a knothole
you can see out of. I was pretty sure it was Uncle Frank. Then I got out and watched him go down the
tracks. He was going toward town... ; (97). After receiving the shock of knowing his uncle is a fiend,
David experiences a growth in morality. He chooses to tell his parents what he knows, or at least part
of what he knows, about Uncle Frank. This shows that he is developing in the area of honesty. Before,
David would have kept all this to himself, rather than face his parents with knowledge he knows will
displease them.

Third Person Perspective Analysis
The reflection
Well it looks like this is where the third person perspective ends.
This assignment itself wasn t too hard it was just the thinking/remembering that was difficult. I
personally had trouble remembering of a few of these things and had to ask my parents to refresh my
memory just, so I could do this assignment. The third perspective way of writing this was a challenge
though, I got really messed up quite a few times and after reading a page over realizing that I had
written it in first perspective. I had decided not to use my picture on the cover but rather a turtle
because turtles are cooler than all of us. But yeah, I chose a turtle because I have always admired
turtles ever since the first time my parents took me to an aquarium.

1983 to replace the outdated Ninth Revision (ICD 9) that has been in use in the U.S. for over 35 years

Mapping guidelines, or mapping decisions, detail how to select the best code translation in order to
ensure clinical semantic interoperability, as well as limiting the impact to organizational operations,
such as administrative and financial functionality. Additionally, these guidelines outline the ways in
which mapping rules should comply with or override GEMs. As previously stated, GEMs should be
utilized as a guide, not a stringent directive, to aid in code conversion. Therefore, mappings identified
by the GEMs can either be accepted, overridden by selecting a different approximate match or
combination code, overridden by selecting target codes from a different GEM option, or overridden by
rejecting all GEM suggestions and selecting or creating a new mapping not listed (De, 2012). All
mapping selections must be agreed upon by the mapping team; therefore, all individual mappings need
to include justification for the codes selected in order to aid in interpretation during review (De,

Women s Rights Movement During The Nineteenth Century
Brian Marshall Ms. Place APUSH I May 26, 2016 Women s Rights Movement Women in the
nineteenth century began to fight for their rights as they were inspired by other abolitionist
movements. Women were denied basic natural rights that were given to men. For example, women
were not allowed to vote or own property. They also earned less money than men, even if they were
working the same job. Men also had a more variety of opportunities in regarding jobs and careers.
Women were expected to care for the children and the household. This unfair treatment inspired
women to start abolitionist movements to gain equal rights to men. Although it was strongly opposed
by most men, the women s rights movement of the 1800 s was ineffective ... Show more content on

Women in the nineteenth century also lived under a system called the cult of domesticity. Under this
system, women were seen as the head of the household and there only job was to control their
household while the men had many opportunities for careers (ic.galegroup.com). Much like the
republican motherhood, this system had the mother in a separate, private sphere. Their main job was
to care for the house, prepare food, and take care of the children and the husband. Under this system,
women were also supposed to hold four virtues, piety, purity, submissiveness, and domesticity. Piety
meant faith in religion as women were not allowed to pursue intellectual topics. Purity meant a women
must remain faithful to their husbands and save their virginity until after marriage. Submission meant
that the women must be obedient to the husband as men were superior to women at this time.
Domesticity meant that the women s main focus would be on the household and her private sphere,
while only engaging in feminine activities such as housekeeping and cooking. The cult of domesticity
gave women a higher value in society and gave them a greater amount of responsibility as most
women believed the success of their family was in their hands. During the Industrial Revolution,
women began working in factories and textile mills. Employers often employed young women as they
could pay them less than men for their work in the factories. Women

Essay on Computer Unit 1 assignment
Kayja Billups Professor Davidoff CGS 1060C 6 January 2015 1. What is the difference between a
software application and an operating system? A computers operating system (OS) is the core of the
computer and is more than just software. The OS controls the computer s memory and processes as
well as its hardware and software. It is the brain of the computer. Software applications on the other
hand perform a certain task. Ex. Google Chrome provides internet and Adobe allows PDF files to be
read (among other things). The OS is what makes all of these applications work successfully and
accomplish whatever the application is designed to accomplish. 2. Describe a use for a software ...

5. Why are software updates so important? Be sure to include security fixes, bugs, adaptation to new
hardware availability and other plugin options. Updating your software is crucial to the health of
computer. Software updates provide fixes for any holes in your security as well as general bug fixes
for your software to make it run more smoothly. Ex. Screen glitches, the OS being slow or lagging,
etc. Sometimes when new hardware comes out an update to your OS and other software will be
required in order to use the new hardware. Updates specific to your security software provide
protection against new malware that has been found. 6. Give an example of a typical software update
that you perform or that your computer provides for you. Be detailed in what software is being
updated and whether it is automatic or if you are required to provide a disk or file. Everytime Adobe
Acrobat releases an update my computer pops up with a nessage asking if I want to update it now or
later. It also gives me the option to check a box for automatic updates (updating without asking my
permission). I am not required to provide a disk or file. 7. Attach 2 screenshots of a Windows screen,
showing menus, toolbars, Windows, Folders, sub folders, directories, subdirectories, and views.

a. Limit transportation by car (Drive less) less driving means fewer emissions.
b. Turn off your lights and appliances Save electricity and reduce global warming by turning off lights
when you leave a room, and using only as much light as you need.
c. Limit use of hot water buy low flow showerheads to save hot water and about 350 pounds of carbon

  • 2. The Heroes Deed Analysis What s the difference between a hero and a regular person? Joseph Campbell describes the difference as the way you respond to the trials in front of you, the way you answer the heroes deed . The heroes deed, as described by Campbell, is overcoming the challenges you are faced with in a way that uplifts those around you. Often times you are challenged to respond to things for the first time, what Campbell describes as an original experience. This can be problematic because as humans we tend to like things that are habitual and comfortable, both of which make it difficult to be pushed outside of our comfort zone. There is something heroic about embracing the heroes deed not knowing what could happen. The heroes deed allows us to enter new boundaries ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Environment Is An Important Aspect Of Shaping People... Signage Environment Environment is an important aspect in shaping people and objects. The environment can contribute to the presentation of a signage of an establishment to sell merchandise or food. To make a place presentable, people usually focus on the environment that it s in. Whether the environment is unkempt or upscale will determine if cliental will eat or shop there. For example, if someone were to go to a restaurant they ve never been to, they d be observant of the surroundings. They would question if the restaurant looked clean, if the food was safe to eat, if the people who make the food are clean, and if the restaurant itself was presentable. When people go to famous eateries, they expect the consistency in each restaurant. It s good for the business itself to keep its consistency for travelers and returning customers. Greenville, Texas The town of Greenville is well known in the East Dallas area. This town is much larger than the surrounding towns such as Caddo Mills and Lone Oak, so it has more shopping places and eateries. People who are from the smaller towns see Greenville as their metropolitan area, they see job opportunities when they go there and a variety of choices. But some parts of Greenville aren t as prospering, such as Downtown Greenville. This part of Greenville is much older and isn t as popular as the part that stands through I 30, so not many people go there to eat. Although each franchise of an eatery should be alike to each other, they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay on Exploring Time Travel An essential requirement for the possibility of time travel is the presumption that future and past were somehow real. But according to one popular view only the present is real, and to suppose that the past or future are also real is to suppose that the past and the future are also present a contradiction. According to this sort of Heraclitean metaphysical conception, the future is genuinely open: there is no realm of determinate future fact, no denizens of the future to identify or talk about, though of course in the fullness of time there will be. Travel to the future on this view would be ruled out because there is simply nowhere to go. The past, though, is spoken of as fixed and determinate and not subject to change. ... It is well known that chronological discrepancies arise in connection with the special and general theories of relativity, quite independently of the question of time travel. But relativistic chronological discrepancies are benign in way that time travel discrepancies are not. What would count as a case of travelling into the past? We can conceive that after a certain time having experiences which are exactly like those of 1920. It is just this kind of thought experiment that makes time travel conceivable. But we would not be compelled to treat such experiences as decisive evidence of having traveled into the past. They might be taken as evidence of serious cognitive disorder, for example. David Lewis has argued that time travel stories are perfectly coherent and it is instructive to examine his defense of the possibility of time travel. Lewis does not reject, but accept the reality of future and past. The world we live in, according to Lewis, is a Parmenidean world: a four dimensional manifold of events and the occupants of the world are four dimensional aggregates of stages timelike streaks (1976, p. 145). However a time traveler is not like other aggregates; if he travels towards the past he is a zig zag streak (1976, p. 146). There might also be stretched out streaks which are travelers into ... Dobbins however wasn t all that religious, he believed in god but it was just being nice to people that mattered to him. Kiowa grew up loving churches and carrying The Bible around but Dobbins hated churches. 2. What is the meaning of the washing motion of the younger monk? Is it the same when Dobbins does it? I think the washing motion is just a show of courtesy or kindness, maybe even hello, goodbye, or thank you. When Dobbins did the washing motion, I believe it was an act of respect just like when the monks did it. 3. The image of the monk cleaning an M 60 is incongruous and jarring. What purpose does it serve in the story? The purpose is to contrast culture in the U.S to the culture in Vietnam. When people picture monks they picture peace, prayer, and silence not cleaning guns or having anything to do with violence. I think it s a case of situational irony because monks wouldn t be cleaning M 60 s. Chapter 12: The Man I Killed 1. How did the narrator react to the fact that he killed another human being? What evidence in the story leads you to this conclusion? The narrator was shocked and felt guilty. You could tell that he feels bad because he is thinking about all the stories and lessons the boy would have been taught. • 12. The Evolution Of Jerusalem As A Sacred Space The Evolution of Jerusalem as a Sacred Space The present day Jerusalem is not only a religious center for the three major religions Judaism, Christianity, and Islam but also one of the most disputed spaces due to the Israeli Palestinian conflict. While the city s religious significance alone attracts enough pilgrims to support its economy, modern Jerusalem prospers with the additional tourists intrigued by the historical landmarks, such as the Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock. However, rather than a miracle happened overnight, the social and economic status of Jerusalem was obtained through a process of evolution, parts of which were recorded by the Hebrew Bible. Even though the Bible may be a collection of narratives constructed by the ancient cultures to explain the origins of life, and thus are more mythical than realistic, many biblical accounts are actually based on genuine historic events and can be used for references. In the case of Jerusalem, which was merely a minor Canaanite city state before the intrusion of the Israelites, the Bible presents evidence that the city, with its suitable geographic characteristics, gradually developed into a sacred place of great political and religious significance over history. In particular, two factors differentiate Jerusalem from the profane space around it: David s choice to designate the city as the capital of the United Kingdom of Israel and Judah, and Solomon s construction of the Temple, which housed the Ark of the ... • 16. Femme Fatale Analysis The largely stereotyped femme fatale is often generalised as being a piece of the classic genre of film noir. But as much as the femme fatale is seen as representative of noir, and vice versa, when analyzing the characteristics of noir the classic hard edged American film the presence of a femme fatale interferes with the very idea of, as Angela Martin would say, hardboiled film noir. Films such as Mildred Pierce, Gilda, and Klute, though objectively different, hold a commonality in that they all present some aspects of film noir while not being seen as entirely so. Mildred Pierce presents flashback narration and shots dominated by shadows, Gilda uses the well known role of the femme fatale, but deviates from classic noir by presenting aspects of the femme fatal in two decidedly different characters. And finally, Klute uses the trope of noir characters torn by psychological dilemmas and internal discourse along with many other comparably noir characteristics while still seeming to exist outside of the film noir genre. Dark and shadowy mise en scene shots are characteristic of film noir, setting the tone for the sense of hopelessness that is often ingrained in the narrative of classic noir. Along with what Sylvia Harvey describes as, ...the prevalence of shadows and areas of darkness within the frame, the visual tension created by curious camera angles... , noir often includes narrative voice overs, especially flashback narration. Social Motivation Of Social Ministry Introduction Many churches have moved beyond the atonement only gospel to become socially involved in their community in providing ministries such as, relief services, personal development services and community development services. This strategy, of social involvement by the church has been welcomed by many and has increased positive perception of the church and by extension amplified the impact of the church. But, what is the motivation behind these social involvements of the church. Is it something that they do in order to be more effective and relevant in sharing the gospel? Or is it something they do because it is genetically linked to their faith? In this paper, the writer will argue that in principle, social ministry should not be done as a means to make the church relevant. That is, the motivation behind church based social interventions should not be solely based on being relevant in order to be more effective in carrying out its mission, which is to make disciples. The writer proposes that social ministry ought to be a natural outworking of the church. As such, a church cannot be considered authentic if it is not involved in social ministry. Self benefit Motivation If the church is motivated to be socially involved because of the need to make the ministry of church relevant, in order to be more effective in carrying out its mission, then the focus is not on the need of the person or community but, rather it is on the church achieving its missional goal.
