Abstract
This report was aimed to investigate the component and feature of a chosen area near a lake in
Qinhuangdao No.1 Middle School. The result of the research showed the physical and biological
components of the quadrat area and what were the negative impact drawn by human activity on the
ecosystem. During the investigation, ruler and camera were used to collect data and pictures. Also,
three tables, a food chain, and a food web were drawn to clearly illustrate the findings. In the third
part, the classifications of the five ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay Marcus Aurelius and Stoic Philosophy
Marcus Aurelius and Stoic Philosophy
Stoicism is a belief that the universe, despite its appearances, is completely rational and guided by
fate. Within it, individuals can, by conforming themselves to divine reason, find their proper place,
learn to accept whatever happens with a strong and tranquil mind, and fulfill their obligations to
society. These beliefs are the heart of Stoicism, a philosophy that originated in Athens during the 3rd
century BC. Stoicism can be divided into three periods: Old (300 129 BC.), middle (129 30 BC.), and
New (30 BC. AD 200). The foundations were laid by Zeno and were reshaped by his Greek and
Roman followers (Comptons). Among the eminent Roman Stoics were Seneca, Epictetus, and the ...

This view is similar to pantheism, which sees god in all aspects of nature. All specific bodies, whether
animal, mineral, or vegetable, are composed of a godly matter. The human mind is also a fragment of
god contained in the individual. By living in harmony with nature, the mind is able to direct a person
into a life guided by correct reason. Everything that happens in the world is planned by fate. Just as
everyone has a duty to live by reason, so everyone should learn to accept with courage and calm
whatever circumstances the world brings. The notion of morality involves a life in accordance with
nature and controlled by virtue. It is as ascetic system, which teaches perfect indifference to
everything external. Nothing external can be either good or evil (Stanford). To Stoics, both pain and
pleasure, poverty and wealth, and sickness and health, are supposed to be equally unimportant. Stoic
Ethical teaching is based on two principles: first, that the universe is governed by absolute law, which
admits of no exceptions; and second, that the essential nature of humans is reason. Virtue, is the life
according to reason. Morality is simply rational action. It is the universal reason, which is to govern
our lives. The definition of morality as the life according to reason was shared by Plato, Aristotle, and
Stoics. The Stoics however, had a much narrower interpretation, which they gave this principle.
Aristotle had taught that the essential

Saddam s Response To The Iraq War
Saddam s decision to invade Kuwait was largely the result of the disappointing outcome of the Iran
Iraq war, combined with traditional Iraqi skepticism about Kuwait s legitimacy, resentment over stolen
Iraqi oil from the Rumaila field, and Kuwait s overproduction of oil. The invasion was widely
condemned as it blatantly violated international laws prohibiting the conquest of sovereign states and
because Iraq s presence in Kuwait posed a danger to the Gulf States. The act was seen as so egregious
that even Bin Laden condemned it and offered to defend Saudi Arabia against Saddam s Ba athism on
the condition that American troops would not be allowed in the Saudi officials rejected his offer. In

Edward Jenner Research Paper
Edward Jenner was an English physician and scientist that made a monumental endowment for
medicine; the smallpox vaccine. Jenner, the Father of Immunology, was born May 1749 in Berkeley,
Gloucestershire. He received most of his schooling from Wotton under Edge and Cirencester. During
this time, he became infected with smallpox, which had a lifelong effect on his health. Jenner was
apprenticed at the age of 14 for 7 years from which he obtained most of the experience he required to
become a surgeon. Smallpox is provoked by the virus variola. It infiltrates through the lungs and is
transferred in the blood to numerous internal organs. It is then dispersed to the skin, where it causes a
rash. This treatment for the virus had already been

Growth Matrix Of Ansoff
To assess the growth and business strategy of Pfizer Bristol Myers Squibb, we will make use of Ansoff
s growth matrix. Ansoff s growth matrix is a valid way to find out which business strategy and growth
strategy the business use. The model states which strategy or strategies a company has adopted in
order to grow. According to Ansoff there are four possible alternatives a company can use:
· Market Penetration the company seeks to achieve growth within its existing products in their current
market segments, thereby aiming to increase its initial market share.
· Market Development the company seeks growth by aiming its existing products towards new market
segments.
· Product Development the company seeks to develop new products and target these to its existing
market segments.

developing new products for new markets. (Johnsson, G. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Eugenics And Its Effects On Society
Between the time period of 1900 to 1945, many scientists and researchers sought ways to improve the
human race by defining who was fit and unfit to reproduce, this was infamously known as eugenics.
Eugenics looked at races and ethnic groups to identify what genetic qualities they had that would help
decipher who had the strongest physical and mental characteristics to survive within nature. The idea
of eugenics was inspired by Darwin s theory of evolution in 1859, but was later defined in 1883 by the
statistician Francis Galton. Galton believed that eugenics should offer the more suitable races or
strains of blood a better chance of prevailing speedily over the less suitable [in order to] clearly and
unabashedly [make a reality] the goal of breeding a more gifted race. During this time period eugenics
was internationally acclaimed, became highly popularized in the United States in the 1930s. A
research program and a social action program were created by American eugenicists to determine the
degree in which mental and behavioral traits could be hereditarily determined and its detrimental
effects on society. The research and social action program consisted of sterilization and immigration
laws, that were lobbied by eugenicists, to improve social and racial hierarchies in the United States.
This later became known as the eugenics social movement in the United States. During this time
Germany was heavily influenced and had been avidly following the work of American eugenicists

Will Rogers Essay
Will Rogers
Not many people remember Will Rogers, but in the 1930 s he was the most well known man in
America more popular than Shirley Temple. He was a simple cowpoke who entertained people with
his rope tricks and sly political observations. He also wrote a widely read newspaper column and
appeared on the raido every week. I supose he is alot like Bill Cosby is today: beloved for his down to
earth style of humor. But that quot;aww, shucks quot; attitude hid a brilliant mind. Furthermore, Will
Rogers was more than just a comedian; he was a man of character. Throughout his life, he exhibited
the qualities of humility, fairness, generosity, and loyalty witch make him a real American hero.
Will was born in Oklahoma and proud of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the Depression, many people were worried about what was going on in Washington. When
Will pointed out some politican who said one thing and did another, or criticized some program in
Washington he didn t approve of, he d disquise his criticism behind a joke so as not to offend. But Will
would also get straight to the heart of the matter, letting the American people know that he thought
just as they did.
As you can see, Will understood people. In fact,he used to say, quot;I never met a man I didn t like.
quot; How many of us can say that? He d go on to explain the Indian belief that quot;you have to go
around and stand behind someone to get a look at what he s lookin at. quot; Only then do you see
things from his perspective. This fairness is remarkable, especially at a time in America when racism
was everywhere. Will s Indian heritage helped him to look at people as people, to see beyond color or
status in the world. He treated the political elite and the unemployed with the same respect and good
humor. In fact, he often made fun of himself, which allowed everyone to relax and see the good sense
behind much of what he said about the rest of society.
This generous attitude translated into many other areas of his life. During the Depression, Will was
very sympathetic to those who had lost everything their savings, their jobs, and their sense of security.
He himself had lost his entire fortune when

The History Of Jazz
History of Jazz Jazz originated in New Orleans as a byproduct to the unique culturally rich
environment that encompassed the city in the 19th and 20th century. Jazz has a long history with many
influential artists, which made it one of the most diverse genres of our time (Basin 2014). Jazz
emerged as a part of a broad musical revolution encompassing many genres with a large contribution
from people of African heritage. Charles Bolden was one of the most influential artists and is credited
as the principle leader of the Jazz era. All in all, Jazz is a diverse genre with a rich past encompassing
many strong musicians (McNulty 2015). With the vestiges of French and Spanish colonial roots, the
resilience of African influences after the slavery era and the influx of immigrants from Europe jazz
was born. All of these cultures were intertwined to produce a new sound that was distinctly ... Show

the style known as stride piano, one of the first forms of jazz (Kingman 1990). Another person
instrumental in the development of jazz, was Jelly Roll Morton, who combined ragtime with various
other musical styles, including blues, minstrel show tunes, Hispanic music, and white popular songs
(United 2015). However, his virtuosity at the piano, and his mixture of composition and improvisation
had a lasting effect on jazz performance. Following Morton, was James Johnson, who was influenced

piano style. His music, which used most of the conventions of ragtime, also included improvisation
and elements of the blues, two aspects that were widely influential in the development of

What Is A Tomboy
The definition of a tomboy, according to the Merriam Webster dictionary is a girl who behaves in a
manner usually considered boyish. (Merriam Webster) Tomboys are quite common nowadays, but in
the 19th century, when Louisa May Alcott s novel Little Women took place, being a classy, elegant
woman was the ordinary. The main character, Jo March, matches the definition of a tomboy perfectly.
Alcott writes about the lives of four little women, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, and their experiences as
they grow up. Three of these girls grow into the traditional type of woman. While, on the other hand,
Jo goes against these customary ways. Specifically, Jo March defies the traditional domestic

Back in Jo March s time, most women would marry either for social reasons or financial situations.
Throughout the novel, Alcott creates an unrequited love story between Laurie and Jo. Laurie falls
deeply in love with Jo while Jo thinks of him strictly as a friend. The reader sees Jo explaining this to
Laurie in chapter 35 when she says, You, you are, you re a great deal too good for me, and I m so
grateful to you, and so proud and fond of you, I don t see why I can t love you as you want me to,
(Alcott 352). Although in that time it is seen as if a man loves a woman, the woman loves him back,
but this is not Jo s thinking. Instead Jo falls in live and eventually marries Mr. Bhaer although he will
not financially help her in any way. Their love for each other goes unannounced until chapter 46 when
Jo states she will be very upset if Mr. Bhaer leaves and he is exhilarated by this. Mr. Bhaer says ...that

Coronary Heart Disease Research Paper
Coronary heart disease is one of the leading killers in America. I will later discuss why this is the case,
and how the choices of Americans will inflict the ultimate price of death. Aside from bad decisions,
the anatomy of where this disease takes place is fragile in regards to bodily malfunctions. The reason
it is called coronary heart disease is because it takes place in the coronary arteries. These arteries are
what supplies the heart with oxygenated blood. So you can guess that if something goes wrong with
these arteries, it could be detrimental for the entire body because the heart pumps blood to the whole
body. The right and left coronary arteries branch from the aorta, which is the main supplier of blood to
the systemic circuit. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hypertension is medical terminology for high blood pressure. High blood pressure means there is
more force pushing blood through vessels, which means that the heart is being required to work
harder. There are multiple ways one can obtain high blood pressure. Some of these ways are just poor
life choices, but sometimes high blood pressure can be unavoidable, even with the right healthy
lifestyle choices. For example, a person can receive high blood pressure from smoking, obesity, lack
of exercise, stress, alcohol and so on. However, someone could have a genetic predisposition for high
blood pressure that makes it almost unavoidable (Gibbons et al., 2016). One could also be diagnosed
with coronary heart disease from too much blood sugar due to diabetes, which can also be genetically
unavoidable. Now knowing the possibilities of how one could obtain this disease, I will proceed to
discuss what happens in the process of the condition. After the body has been pounded by something
such as high blood pressure for several years, vessels such as the coronary arteries will begin to build
a hard plaque substance within its walls. Accumulation of this plaque could lead the blood vessels to
severely clog and possibly even rupture. If one of these arteries rupture, the body will call upon
platelets to form a blood clot and stop the

Social Factors Affecting The Mortality Burden Of...
Toronto in 1902 was a city on the cusp of transformation. It was a city marked, like many large
Western cities by the high probability of death at a young age. At this time period life in large cities
was characterized by many deaths due to infectious disease. According to the death records collected
from the year 1902 to 1904 by the city of Toronto, 8.1% of the total population died from
gastroenteritis or typhoid. For the purposes of comparison, it is important to note that the mortality
burden of all infectious diseases at this time period was extremely high, with these cases making up to
41.3% of the total population mortality. There were numerous social conditions that affected this
reality, and in this particular case study, had the power to either increase or decrease the mortality
burdens of infectious disease. These social factors will be further studied in the paper, and they
include, but are not limited to: housing, socioeconomic status, diet, age, water quality, waste
management, hygiene, rapid industrialization, increased population growth, immigration, scientific
advancements, increased classification and record keeping, and the role of government. The common
thread between all of these realms and typhoid, is the focus of this paper: public health. It is because
of the particularly high rate of infection and death due to typhoid and gastroenteritis that I have chosen
to study this particular disease over other options present in the data sample. This paper

Working Environment, Performance Management Essay
We define performance management as the process through which managers ensure that employees
activities and outputs are congruent with the organization s goals (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, Wright,
2016 ). In today s working environment, performance management allows dialogue around
performance improvement, which happens to be a system that many company s have adapted. With
there being high competition to build up an exemplary employee and be able to maintain them
different companies are rewarding and recognizing employees in different ways. There are companies
that believe that in order to motivate and retain an employee there has to be an incentive. However,
there are other companies that think the complete opposite, and believe that an employee will work
harder and be more motivated when the job is a non commission base role or an incentive is expected.
Argumentation/Discussion There are two different perspectives when it comes it incentives. The
argument for companies that believe incentives are a great way to drive the growth and profit of the
company is as follow. Incentives motivate an employee, and there are experts that state that bonuses,
rewards and incentives attract an employee to improve their work performance, and meet deadlines. It
is believed that incentives creates loyalty and trust between the employee and its employer improving
its relationship. There was a research with MIT students, and they were given a set of challenges and

The Government Of The United States Government Essay
Madison Cissell
MSU 176 Symposium
Primary: United States Government
Secondary: Tourism
The United States government is the federal government of the America s fifty states, as well as one
capital district, and several other territories. The federal government is composed of three distinct
branches: legislative, executive, and judicial, whose powers are settled by the U.S. Constitution in
Congress, our President, and the federal courts (including the Supreme Court). The powers of these
branches are defined by acts of Congress, including the creation of the executive departments and of
the courts secondary to the Supreme Court.
The outline of the government of America is laid out in the Constitution. The government was formed
in 1789, making the United States one of the world s first modern national republic. The United States
government is based on the different principles of federalism and republicanism, in which the power is
shared between the federal and state governments. The interpretation and execution of these principles
has been debated ever since the adoption of the Constitution. Some are in support of extensive federal
powers while others argue for a more limited role in relation to individuals.
One of the theoretical pillars in the United States Constitution is the idea of checks and balances being
found among the powers and responsibilities of the three branches. Congress is the legislative branch
and is bicameral, comprising the House of Representatives and

She thought that by smashing these bars to pieces, people would take notice, which is precisely what

Reflection About Failure
The fundamental foundations of our personality and the lifestyle we live is grounded in our failures of
the past, present, and future. We base our decisions in the experiences of the past and those choices
lead to our future. The lessons we learn in our failure are what make us grow as people and become
better versions of ourselves. I personally have tasted the bitterness of failure many times, it is only
after you are out of the pain or embarrassment you can realize that what you went though was not a
completely awful ordeal. Through my many graceful highlights I have learned to not make the same
mistakes and I have become smarter. There is no such thing as the perfect human being, we are born
imperfect and made to make mistakes. It is how we learn to overcome and grow out of hardships. The
most deadly failure is the one that does not allow us to experience defeat, it is the failure to take
action. If we are too afraid to put ourselves out there and experience new things or be vulnerable we
will never experience the full extent of life or what it means to be alive, human even. When we
hesitate because we are afraid of rejection, humiliation, pain, or the fear of failure, we are cutting
ourselves short of our true potential. We learn from a young age that failure equals shame and
discomfort through life experiences but we rarely remember that it is the experience of that failure that
allows us to mature. As an artist, failure is something commonly struggled with

Cardiac Cycle Is The Sequence Of Events That Occurs When...
Cardiac Cycle
The cardiac cycle is the sequence of events that occurs when the heart beats.(biology.about.com).
There are two phases of the cardiac cycle. In the diastole phase, the heart ventricles are relaxed and
the heart fills with blood. In the systole phase, the ventricles contract and pump blood to the arteries. A
cardiac cycle is completed when the heart fills with blood and the blood gets pumped out of the heart.
The events of the cardiac cycle described below trace the path of the blood as it enters the heart, is
pumped to the lungs, travel back to the heart and is pumped out to the rest of the body. Note that the
events that occur in the first and second diastole phases happen at the same time. This is also true for
the events of the first and second systole phases.
Cardiac Cycle: 1st Diastole Phase
During the diastole phase, the atria and ventricles are relaxed and the atrioventricular valves are open.
De oxygenated blood from the superior and inferior vena cavae flows into the right atrium. The open
atrioventricular valves allow blood to pass through to the ventricles. The SA nodes contracts triggering
the atria to contract. The right atrium empties its contents into the right ventricle. The tricuspid valve
prevents the blood from flowing back into the right atrium. (About.com)
Cardiac Cycle: 1st Systole Phase
According to Richard E. K. (PhD., 2011) Systole represents the time during which the left and right
ventricles contract and eject blood into the aorta

The Benefits of Chain Stores Explained in In Virginia...
Every couple of months, I go to Trader Joe s. I enjoy their organic products and the prices as well.
Trader Joe s is not in Augusta, but in Columbia, SC. I really like Trader Joe s, and like me, consumers
do not mind traveling far to their favorite chain stores. In Virginia Postrel s essay, In Praise of Chain
Stores, she lists the pros and cons of chain stores. I believe chain stores help the city of Augusta.
Chain stores have turned Augusta into an exciting place by bringing many products to consumers,
making visitors feel at home, and helping the economy. First of all, Chain stores give consumers an
array an options. Postrel mentions in her essay, Chain stores do more than bargain down prices from
suppliers or divide fixed costs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These stores bring the soldiers from different areas, by reminding them of their favorite stores. When
my family came from New York, they talked about the food down here. One of the places that was
mentioned was Huddle House. Huddle House is a diner that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all day.
Eating there reminded my cousin of growing up in Alabama. Being able to shop at chain stores, helps
tourists enjoy their favorite product or food. Thirdly, chain stores help the economy. The author says
that, Chains let people in a city of 250,000 enjoy retail amenities once available to a huge metropolitan
center. Costco is a warehouse that has members like Sam s Club. When Costco opened in Augusta in
2011, the community was excited. Selling discounted item like tires, cars, and bulk food items. Costco
stays packed with customers. The Augusta Chronicle reported that by having a Costco in the area,
people are traveling from Columbia, SC and other places that are much smaller than Augusta. The
Augusta Chronicle also reported that a Costco employee earns twelve dollars an hour. This is great
with minimum wage being seven dollars and twenty five cents an hour. Chain stores usually are very
popular and keep customers coming back. The more people that shop, the more employees need to be
hired. Jobs are created when these big retail stores open. Discounts are given to employees which can
benefit both parties. In conclusion,

How Did The British Government To Respond To The...
The American Revolution was preceded in part by a series of British Parliament laws that regulated
trade and taxes. Rumors from England that more taxes might follow encouraged some colonists to
begin thinking about whether they really consented to taxes passed by a Parliament to which they
elected no representatives. (1) This particular legislation of taxation caused tensions between colonists
and local imperial officials, who readdressed the colonists concerns that the British Parliament would
not address American complaints concerning the new laws. The unwillingness to respond to American
demands for change by the British opened the doors to colonial argument that they were part of a
corrupt and tyrannical empire in which their traditional liberties were at stake! This position
eventually served as the foundation for the Declaration of Independence. As the British government
emerged from the Seven Years War in 1763, they were troubled with outstanding debts. This led
British Prime Minister George Grenville to reduce the tax collected on items such as sugar and
molasses as they were imported into Great Britain, but also to enforce the law more strictly. Since
enforcement of these taxes had previously been lenient, this increased revenue for the British
Government in the the long term, and served to increase the taxes paid by the colonists. New York and
Massachusetts colonial governments issued formal letters of protest to Parliament. (2) Add to this the

What is the Voodoo Religion, and its Stereotypes

One don t have to look very far to find links and ties with Voodoo to western popular culture. We can
see from Zombie movies, to different types of horror movies how the Voodoo religion have been
stereotypically viewed. Novelty stores sell pin filled dolls to aim a public ranging from miscreant
romantic partners to unreasonable bosses. Even Runescape (an online gaming platform) has its own
Voodoo brand, and can choose to be in different Voodoo clans. These chops feature witch doctors,
jinxed Hoodpiles and punctured Voodoo dolls. These types of representations ... Show more content

This process is said to be reciprocal, and follower must look after Lwa by performing these rituals,
which can sometimes come in in the form of animal sacrifice. In the other hand some Voodooist ritual
allow followers to thank the spirit for their protection, blessings or good fortune. To maintain a good
relationship with the Lwa, or stay in good terms followers must all conduct themselves properly
according to the customs of the community and the religion. In this way one can see how Voodoo can
influence a persons day by day decision, activities, and decision making. Part of voodoo belief is that
the Lwa communicate with followers through possession. The Lwa takes place of the host, and
temporarily displaces its soul. According to this belief the medium cannot feel pain or become injured
while he is in trans. The lwa speaks through the host giving intructions, advices or prophecies of
future events. In some cases the Lwa can rebuke the host for failing to perform their duties. This idea
of being possessed unites two different types Voodoo practitioners. One of them primarly existing in
northern, and central portion of West African coast. This type of voodoo is the oldest known Voodoo
and goes back to 6000 years ago from to Fon and Kongo. The other is practiced primarly in Haiti as
well as in parts of north and sourth America.
Books that explore either form of voodoo often explain the religion through series of stories and
anecdotes instead of using a straightforward analysis. This is also the main reason voodoo is soo
widely seen in a stereotypical way in the modern western world. The reason as to why there is no
straight forward representation; and also the leading factor as to why the Voodoo religion is seen in
such a way is due to three

What Are The Methods Used To Analyze The Results Of The...
Some of the methods used to analyze the results of the PREDIMED trial includes Cox proportional
hazard modeling to compute hazard ratios for each Mediterranean diet and the control group
outcomes.3 The hazard ratios for the primary endpoints were 0.70 (95% confidence interval [CI]:0.53
0.91) for both Mediterranean with EVOO and 0.70 (95% CI:0.53 0.94) for the Mediterranean diet with
mixed nuts, where a ratio that is 1 is interpreted an unlikely rate that the primary endpoint will occur.3
The hazard ratios for the primary endpoints were also adjusted for continuous variables (gender, age,

The media article also seems to be misleading because it states that the diet helped those at risk for
heart disease even if they could not lose weight. To a person who has not read the PREDIMED trial or
does not have a good background in biology, this can be easily misinterpreted that it is okay to be
overweight. In fact, research shows that obesity is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases.2,7
Therefore, people who are at risk of developing cardiovascular disease should also give importance to
a good diet as well as a healthy lifestyle and weight management. Other risk factors should also be
eliminated in order to successfully improve cardiovascular health. The media article also mentions the
primary endpoints that were used in the trial. Kolata states that the researchers in the PREDIMED trial
did not look at risk factors such as cholesterol, hypertension, and weight.6 Even though the
researchers did not measure these risk factors at the primary endpoint, they did fill out a baseline
questionnaire prior to participant enrollment relating to these risk factors. The hazard ratios were also
adjusted for these risk factors twice.3 The media article also puts an emphasis on what should be

A Review On Prediction Of Chatter Stability
A REVIEW ON PREDICTION OF CHATTER STABILITY IN HIGH SPEED MILLING
V.Manoj kumar, R.K.Naveen, A.Ragavesh
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore 22
Abstract: This paper reviews on the various analyzing techniques of chatter stability in high speed
milling. Milling at high spindle speed is an effective technology for processing various materials.
During milling, unstable self excited vibrations known as regenerative chatter can occur, causing
excessive tool wear or failure and a poor surface finish on the machined work piece. There are several
analyzing techniques that are used to increase the stability of the machining process such as, fuzzy
arithmetic techniques, stability lobe diagram(SLD),Structural dynamic modification. Based on these
analyzing techniques how the operating variables are changed to obtain the different predicted results
is studied.
Keywords: chatter, spindle speed.
Introduction: High speed milling is extensively used in manufacturing process. The generation of
complex shapes with high accuracy and quality is the main advantage of milling process. In a real
world setting there are many variables that influence a machining process and each one can carry
small errors or uncertainties, which can lead to major deviations in the finished quality of fabricated
parts. It therefore becomes important to research novel models to account for parameter uncertainties
in order to develop more practical models.

Analysis Of The Road Not Taken By Robert Frost
The Road Not Taken is a poem by Robert Frost that was written as a narrative based on him and his
friend, Thomas Edward. Frost and Edward would take long walks together in the woods in England.
There were always complaints at the end of their walks that they should have taken a different path.
This inspired Frost to write this poem. It talks about great importance in our everyday lives and further
suggests that any choice a person makes in life, how small it may seem at first, will always have some
sort of impact on an individual in the future. The start of the poem is focused on a road divided.
However, the conflict arises with the fact that the poet himself cannot be divided to take both paths.
He is looking down a fork in the road. And as he is lost in thought as gazes down the two roads that
look very similar in appearance, he understands that the choice that is made could potentially change
his life. The two roads diverged in a yellow wood is an extended metaphor that represents the
decisions that we are faced with every day. This first stanza is also a metaphor signifying that while
we are free to choose things in life, we sometimes may not know what we are choosing between. The
poem describes an emblematic impasse that many may face, both factually and symbolically. There
are several forks in the road; those that force us one to make choices and decisions that will determine
ones fate. It provides a view into the obstacles that are encountered in life and

Similarities Between The Solider And Dulce Et Decorum Est
The Solider by Rupert Brooke and Dulce et decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, are two poems written
during the time of World War One (WW1). Both poems are an example of each authors perception on
war, Owens being about the spiteful reality and Brookes about the glory of dying one s country.
Although they are two very different perspectives both are based around the horrors of war and the
unimaginable amount of deaths that WW1 had caused. There are numerous amounts of similarities
between the two poems Dulce et Decorum Est and The Soldier . Throughout The Soldier Brooke
revels the fact that fighting in war for the sole purpose of defending ones country is courageous, he

In the first stanza of Dulce et Decorum Est , the reader is instantly drawn in with Bent double . This
gives the poem a feeling of immediacy which is then followed up by a detailed description of what is
to come. Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs/ Men marched asleep/ Many had lost their
boots but limped on. The reader is yet again, drawn into the graphic scene of war. The alliteration
Knock kneed emphasises the battle weariness of the soldiers and intensifies the way they depicted
war. Owen creates rhythm throughout the stanza by littering the poem with pauses. He uses this
technique in the line All went blind; Drunk with fatigue; death even to the hoots Of tired . Owen
makes the scene more vivid by bringing in his own involvement to war with we cursed through the
sludge , he uses the term sludge to help capture the agony which was being experienced by the
soldiers. The Soldier is one of numerous poems written at the beginning of war (before Dulce et
Decorum Est ) to attract naive young men who believed enrolling in war would be an exciting
adventure allowing them to travel the world. Brooke welcomes death in his sonnet and expresses that
he feels privileged to have been raised in England, believing it was a blessing. In the first stanza,
Brooke gives the impression of England being a tranquil country, in which he feels honoured to be
English. If I should die, think

Racism In To Kill A Mockingbird By Horton Foote
I know when I was a little I believed most of what I was told. I believe this could be said for most
people out there. To Kill a Mockingbird by Horton Foote has some similar things going for it. Jem
Finch a 10 year old boy and his 6 year old sister Scout (also referred to as Jean Louis) experience
situations where this is very relevant. The screenplay is set in Maycomb, Alabama in 1932. The town
is still fairly racist, this is really shown in a court case known as the Tom Robinson case. All in all the
Theme of To Kill a Mockingbird is do not believe everything you hear.
In the beginning of the screenplay Jem and Scout meet Dill (whose real name is Charles Baker Harris)
who is a 6 year old boy that seems to stretch the truth about his father. When the three of them first
meet Dill says that he does not have a father, but moments later he changes what he means saying My
daddy owns the L and N Railroad (Foote 10). If that does not seem a little questionable towards the
middle of the screenplay he changes what he says again. Dill says ... my daddy was a railroad man
until he got rich. Now he flies airplanes (Foote 47). The whole thing with him and his dad just seems
like it is exaggerated or made up after this point. Most might think that he makes this up because he
originally says that he does not know his father. This is very probable because after Dill says what his
dad, does he almost you could say fantasizes about his dad picking him up on a train or sweeping

Systematic Review Paper
Abstract
Traditionally, systematic reviews (SR) are descriptive secondary research, which may or may not be
accompanied by statistical methods (metaanalysis) of pooling the results of primary, quantitative
studies to answer a clinical question or test a hypothesis (Chalmers 1996). Similarly, qualitative
primary studies can be pooled and synthesised in order to develop new theories to aid decision
making, re shape policies, and influence professional practices. Over the past 20 years, patient and
public involvement (PPI) in research have become increasingly crucial, which has fuelled the
increasing popularity of qualitative research as better ways of incorporating public and patient views
into health, social and economic policies. There is however a confusing array of methods available for
conducting secondary qualitative research. In this paper epistemological concepts guiding a number of
methods are discussed. The consensus on enhancing transparency in reporting the synthesis of
qualitative research (ENTREQ) is also reviewed
Introduction
Synthesis of qualitative data has never been as popular as meta analysis. It is however becoming an
increasingly useful secondary research tool in a diverse area of problem solutions, ranging from
leadership and management problems (Walsh 2005; Galuska 2012), sociology (Wilder 2014) to
clinical research questions (Beck 2002; Kennedy et al. 2003 and Orri 2014). Secondary research could

Consumerism And Free Market Economy
In today s society, it is becoming increasingly impossible for one to be watching television, reading a
magazine, or watching a sporting event without being flooded with the images of commercialism.
Messages in our televisions and print sources that encourages us to buy are created by people who
uses their talent to speak to both our conscious and subconscious desires. The products that we buy,
the food that we consume, the clothes and shoes that we wear, and our everyday lives are influenced
by commercialism. Proponents for commercialism can argue that commercialism as essential in the
enhancement of capitalism and free market economy. It can also lead to innovation competition of
companies in meeting the needs of consumers. However, Commercialism can lead to an increase in
wasteful consumption or consumerism. It can also lead to the depletion of natural resources in trying
to meet the consumption needs of the people.
Although commercialism have it draw backs, it is not all bad; commercialism promotes capitalism and
free trade both of which are very essential in our American Society. Only by producing and selling
goods and services does capitalism work. Commercialism allows for the free flow of information
between producers and consumers about good and services, and as a result, consumers are having the
ability to make preferences about their purchasing choices. It can lead to more equal and a wider
distribution of goods and services from which people can choose from.

A Midsummer Night s Dream Essay
A Midsummer Night s Dream: by William Shakespeare William Shakespeare was born in April 1564.
He had married at the age of eighteen to a twenty six year old woman named Anne Hathaway in 1582.
He had a daughter named Susanna and twins, Judith and Hamnet. Hamnet, his only son, died at age
eleven. Shakespeare died in April 1616. Despite the fact that Shakespeare wrote some thirty seven
plays, owned part of his theatrical company, acted in plays, and retired a relatively wealthy man in the
city of his birth, there is much we do not know about him (Jacobus, 167 169). One of the plays that
Shakespeare wrote was A Midsummer Night s Dream. A Midsummer Night s Dream (1595 1596) is an
early comedy and one of Shakespeare s most beloved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of this essay is to reassess A Midsummer Night s Dream as a dual locale comedy, its
meaning essentially linked to the dialectical relationship of Theseus court to the wood outside Athens.
Such a reading brings together Renaissance attitudes to the revivification of classical mythology in the
context of Christian neo platonic doctrine, reinforces our expectations concerning the Shakespearean
love ethic which, in the world of the comedies, ideally looks not with the eyes but with the mind, and
attains contemporary pungency via its basis in beliefs concerning the power of witchcraft (Ormerod,
39 52). Puck plays a very important role in the play. The philologists long ago discovered the devilish
origin of Puck. Puck is simply one of the names for the devil. His name was invoked to frighten
women and children, together with the ogre and the incubus (Kott, 107). Puck was supposed to put a
spell on Demetrius while he was sleep with love juice so when he woke up he would fall in love with
Helena. It didn t quite work out that way. Puck had put the love juice on the wrong person instead. He
had cast the

Compare and Contrast the Ways in Which the Theme of...
Compare and contrast the ways in which the theme of isolation is presented and explored by Sebastian
Faulks and T.S Eliot in Engleby and Selected Poems . Throughout both Engleby and Selected Poems
there is a prevailing sense of apprehension of the tenuousness of human existence which is evident in
the protagonists confining inability to communicate with the world around them, as seen in Prufrock s
agonised call, so how should I presume? . The Wasteland was written by Eliot to address the
fragmentation and alienation characteristic of [contemporary] culture , questioning mankind s ability
to move forward into cohesiveness despite the more pronounced sense of disillusionment and
cynicism which came about as a direct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This suggests his isolation yet the reader cannot be certain whether this is his own disinterest in
involving himself in social life, or whether it had been due to his childhood and conditioning by others
I tried to join in the communal joke once. But only once. The narrative style makes it difficult to find
the reason why Engleby only attempted to join in the joke once . This theme of isolation is continued
throughout the novel with his cowboy tie at the dinner with Stellings, in contrast to his music
obsession: Off the top of my head, I can think of at least ten orchestral tunes. Prufrock finds himself in
a similar situation, questioning Do I dare/ Disturb the universe? the alliteration emphasising his
feeling of isolation and uncertainty on what action he should take. It is suggested that Engleby has a
tremendous fear of reincarnation which suggests that to some extent he does see death as a form of
escape . This idea has some merit due to his belief that the brief stint in humanity is pointless , and is
almost as terrified of the idea of living forever as he is of dying young. This is parallel to Sybil in The
Burial of the Dead : I will show you fear in a handful of dust , Eliot implying that eternal life is not
something to be longed for but to be apprehensive and fearful of due to the isolation and loneliness
which would come with outliving relatives and friends. Following the First World War, it is possible

Essay about Case Study Mars
Week 2 Case Study: MARS (D)
Name
GSCM 540
Professor
July 19, 2015
Executive Summary In 2009 MARS Inc. has been faced with new challenges in their buying process
of their diesel engine due to changes with their Columbus supplier. The D 342 diesel engine market is
in jeopardy which is why the supplier dropped production and left MARS Inc. with only one option in
suppliers. Having to now deal with only one supplier Tom Sosa, the purchasing manager, has had to
figure out what this change means to MARS Inc. in terms of transportation cost, inventory and storage
costs, and continue the enforcement of MARS INC. s implementation of lean manufacturing.
Case Study Questions 1. What were MARS total costs per year prior to the new ... Show more content

The cost in transportation rates will increase for MARS Inc. with this change. The Portland supplier s
location to MARS Inc. based on the current situation charges per hundredweight is $10 for carload
lots of 50,000 pounds. The less than carload rate is $15 per hundredweight. While anything coming
from the Columbus supplier was offered just in time delivery service at no charge to MARS Inc. Also,
this will affect the EOQ s because dealing with the Columbus supplier they were located close enough
that they offered JIT delivery which allowed the reduction minimizing work in process inventories
(waste) by reducing lot sizes in order to increase production efficiency and product quality. Now, with
the change, it will force MARS Inc. to spend money on warehousing and carrying cost due to the one
week replenishment cycle the Portland supplier has. 4. What is the difference between all unit quantity
discount and incremental discount schedules? How would the costs and EOQs differ? Which would be
preferable assuming that both share the same cost figures?
The difference between all unit quantity discount and incremental discount schedules are that in the all
units discounts model, as the order quantity increases, the unit purchasing cost decreases, while, in the
incremental quantity discounts case, the unit purchasing cost decreases only for units beyond a certain
threshold and not for every unit as in the all units discounts

The Importance Of Interstate Commerce
Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution states that Congress shall have power to regulate
commerce with foreign nations, among the several states, and with the Indian Tribes (Epstein, et. al.,
2017). Congress can regulate the channels of interstate commerce and has the authority to regulate and
protect the instrumentalities of interstate commerce, and persons or things in interstate commerce.
Congress has the power to regulate activities that substantially affect interstate commerce (Epstein, et.
al., 2017).
The hypothetical case of United States v. Bates details the appeal and controversy of Interstate
Commerce filed by Norman Bates, owner of Eros Lodge and Eros Bar and Grill located in the city of
Utopia in the State of Grace. Bates is concerned how his business could be affected by having same
sex couple customers. Bates is not only worried about how profits could decrease, he also believes
that homosexuality is immoral. He believes that many of his regular customers would not return or
customers would be angry about same sex couples being present during their romantic getaway at the
Eros Lodge. The Public Administration Equal Access Act forbids discrimination regarding sexual
orientation in places such as those owned by Norman Bates. The Equal Access Act applies to any
business whose daily operations affect interstate commerce. The Eros Lodge and Bar and Grill are not
private businesses, and there are more than five rooms available for guests. Many guests are

Charter School Analysis Essay
Mike Schmidt
Statement of Issue: Since the first charter school opened in Minnesota in 1992 (Minnesota Dept. of
Education Website), America has seen charter schools move from a fringe educational alternative to an
accepted and useful tool in public education. It is clear that charter schools are continuing to grow in
popularity and student population, even with conflicting evidence about their effectiveness. This
review will evaluate the necessity for strong educational leadership, a clear educational charter with a
defined vision and financial backing, and built in mechanisms and criteria for accountability in
establishing an effective charter school.
History of Issue: Charter schools are generally attributed to an idea by ... Show more content on

Because of the stress placed on students changing schools, a charter should not be approved without
documented financial and management plans. Moving students to a new school just to close it for
what are preventable or foreseeable reasons simply does the students long term education a disservice.
While these aspects of charter schools have been very important in beginning this movement,
ultimately it is the effectiveness of charter schools that will determine their future. Evidence regarding
the aggregate effectiveness of charter schools is mixed. Most famously, the 2009 study by the Center
for Educational Outcomes stated that 17 percent, provide superior education opportunities for their
students. Nearly half of the charter schools nationwide have results that are no different from the local
public school options and over a third, 37 percent, deliver learning results that are significantly worse
than their student would have realized had they remained in traditional public schools. While those
numbers resonate like a failure of the charter experiment, when examined further, some of those
claims fall about. In his article Improving Charter School Accountability: The Challenge of Closing
Failing Schools, David Osborne states that the fallacy in this study is that the majority of the evidence
comes from a student s first year in a charter schools. This taints the study because when

  • 4. Essay Marcus Aurelius and Stoic Philosophy Marcus Aurelius and Stoic Philosophy Stoicism is a belief that the universe, despite its appearances, is completely rational and guided by fate. Within it, individuals can, by conforming themselves to divine reason, find their proper place, learn to accept whatever happens with a strong and tranquil mind, and fulfill their obligations to society. These beliefs are the heart of Stoicism, a philosophy that originated in Athens during the 3rd century BC. Stoicism can be divided into three periods: Old (300 129 BC.), middle (129 30 BC.), and New (30 BC. AD 200). The foundations were laid by Zeno and were reshaped by his Greek and Roman followers (Comptons). Among the eminent Roman Stoics were Seneca, Epictetus, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This view is similar to pantheism, which sees god in all aspects of nature. All specific bodies, whether animal, mineral, or vegetable, are composed of a godly matter. The human mind is also a fragment of god contained in the individual. By living in harmony with nature, the mind is able to direct a person into a life guided by correct reason. Everything that happens in the world is planned by fate. Just as everyone has a duty to live by reason, so everyone should learn to accept with courage and calm whatever circumstances the world brings. The notion of morality involves a life in accordance with nature and controlled by virtue. It is as ascetic system, which teaches perfect indifference to everything external. Nothing external can be either good or evil (Stanford). To Stoics, both pain and pleasure, poverty and wealth, and sickness and health, are supposed to be equally unimportant. Stoic Ethical teaching is based on two principles: first, that the universe is governed by absolute law, which admits of no exceptions; and second, that the essential nature of humans is reason. Virtue, is the life according to reason. Morality is simply rational action. It is the universal reason, which is to govern our lives. The definition of morality as the life according to reason was shared by Plato, Aristotle, and Stoics. The Stoics however, had a much narrower interpretation, which they gave this principle. Aristotle had taught that the essential ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Saddam s Response To The Iraq War Saddam s decision to invade Kuwait was largely the result of the disappointing outcome of the Iran Iraq war, combined with traditional Iraqi skepticism about Kuwait s legitimacy, resentment over stolen Iraqi oil from the Rumaila field, and Kuwait s overproduction of oil. The invasion was widely condemned as it blatantly violated international laws prohibiting the conquest of sovereign states and because Iraq s presence in Kuwait posed a danger to the Gulf States. • 9. Eugenics And Its Effects On Society Between the time period of 1900 to 1945, many scientists and researchers sought ways to improve the human race by defining who was fit and unfit to reproduce, this was infamously known as eugenics. Eugenics looked at races and ethnic groups to identify what genetic qualities they had that would help decipher who had the strongest physical and mental characteristics to survive within nature. The idea of eugenics was inspired by Darwin s theory of evolution in 1859, but was later defined in 1883 by the statistician Francis Galton. Galton believed that eugenics should offer the more suitable races or strains of blood a better chance of prevailing speedily over the less suitable [in order to] clearly and unabashedly [make a reality] the goal of breeding a more gifted race. During this time period eugenics was internationally acclaimed, became highly popularized in the United States in the 1930s. A research program and a social action program were created by American eugenicists to determine the degree in which mental and behavioral traits could be hereditarily determined and its detrimental effects on society. The research and social action program consisted of sterilization and immigration laws, that were lobbied by eugenicists, to improve social and racial hierarchies in the United States. This later became known as the eugenics social movement in the United States. During this time Germany was heavily influenced and had been avidly following the work of American eugenicists ... He was a simple cowpoke who entertained people with his rope tricks and sly political observations. He also wrote a widely read newspaper column and appeared on the raido every week. I supose he is alot like Bill Cosby is today: beloved for his down to earth style of humor. But that quot;aww, shucks quot; attitude hid a brilliant mind. This fairness is remarkable, especially at a time in America when racism was everywhere. Will s Indian heritage helped him to look at people as people, to see beyond color or status in the world. He treated the political elite and the unemployed with the same respect and good humor. In fact, he often made fun of himself, which allowed everyone to relax and see the good sense behind much of what he said about the rest of society. Aside from bad decisions, the anatomy of where this disease takes place is fragile in regards to bodily malfunctions. The reason it is called coronary heart disease is because it takes place in the coronary arteries. These arteries are what supplies the heart with oxygenated blood. Hypertension is medical terminology for high blood pressure. High blood pressure means there is more force pushing blood through vessels, which means that the heart is being required to work harder. There are multiple ways one can obtain high blood pressure. Some of these ways are just poor life choices, but sometimes high blood pressure can be unavoidable, even with the right healthy lifestyle choices. For example, a person can receive high blood pressure from smoking, obesity, lack of exercise, stress, alcohol and so on. However, someone could have a genetic predisposition for high blood pressure that makes it almost unavoidable (Gibbons et al., 2016). One could also be diagnosed with coronary heart disease from too much blood sugar due to diabetes, which can also be genetically unavoidable. Now knowing the possibilities of how one could obtain this disease, I will proceed to discuss what happens in the process of the condition. After the body has been pounded by something such as high blood pressure for several years, vessels such as the coronary arteries will begin to build a hard plaque substance within its walls. Accumulation of this plaque could lead the blood vessels to severely clog and possibly even rupture. It was a city marked, like many large Western cities by the high probability of death at a young age. At this time period life in large cities was characterized by many deaths due to infectious disease. According to the death records collected from the year 1902 to 1904 by the city of Toronto, 8.1% of the total population died from gastroenteritis or typhoid. For the purposes of comparison, it is important to note that the mortality burden of all infectious diseases at this time period was extremely high, with these cases making up to 41.3% of the total population mortality. There were numerous social conditions that affected this reality, and in this particular case study, had the power to either increase or decrease the mortality burdens of infectious disease. These social factors will be further studied in the paper, and they include, but are not limited to: housing, socioeconomic status, diet, age, water quality, waste management, hygiene, rapid industrialization, increased population growth, immigration, scientific advancements, increased classification and record keeping, and the role of government. The common thread between all of these realms and typhoid, is the focus of this paper: public health. It is because of the particularly high rate of infection and death due to typhoid and gastroenteritis that I have chosen to study this particular disease over other options present in the data sample. Working Environment, Performance Management Essay We define performance management as the process through which managers ensure that employees activities and outputs are congruent with the organization s goals (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, Wright, 2016 ). In today s working environment, performance management allows dialogue around performance improvement, which happens to be a system that many company s have adapted. With there being high competition to build up an exemplary employee and be able to maintain them different companies are rewarding and recognizing employees in different ways. There are companies that believe that in order to motivate and retain an employee there has to be an incentive. However, there are other companies that think the complete opposite, and believe that an employee will work harder and be more motivated when the job is a non commission base role or an incentive is expected. Argumentation/Discussion There are two different perspectives when it comes it incentives. The argument for companies that believe incentives are a great way to drive the growth and profit of the company is as follow. Incentives motivate an employee, and there are experts that state that bonuses, rewards and incentives attract an employee to improve their work performance, and meet deadlines. It is believed that incentives creates loyalty and trust between the employee and its employer improving its relationship. The Government Of The United States Government Essay Madison Cissell MSU 176 Symposium Primary: United States Government Secondary: Tourism The United States government is the federal government of the America s fifty states, as well as one capital district, and several other territories. The federal government is composed of three distinct branches: legislative, executive, and judicial, whose powers are settled by the U.S. Constitution in Congress, our President, and the federal courts (including the Supreme Court). The powers of these branches are defined by acts of Congress, including the creation of the executive departments and of the courts secondary to the Supreme Court. The outline of the government of America is laid out in the Constitution. The government was formed in 1789, making the United States one of the world s first modern national republic. The United States government is based on the different principles of federalism and republicanism, in which the power is shared between the federal and state governments. The interpretation and execution of these principles has been debated ever since the adoption of the Constitution. Some are in support of extensive federal powers while others argue for a more limited role in relation to individuals. One of the theoretical pillars in the United States Constitution is the idea of checks and balances being found among the powers and responsibilities of the three branches. • 21. Reflection About Failure The fundamental foundations of our personality and the lifestyle we live is grounded in our failures of the past, present, and future. We base our decisions in the experiences of the past and those choices lead to our future. The lessons we learn in our failure are what make us grow as people and become better versions of ourselves. I personally have tasted the bitterness of failure many times, it is only after you are out of the pain or embarrassment you can realize that what you went though was not a completely awful ordeal. Through my many graceful highlights I have learned to not make the same mistakes and I have become smarter. There is no such thing as the perfect human being, we are born imperfect and made to make mistakes. It is how we learn to overcome and grow out of hardships. The most deadly failure is the one that does not allow us to experience defeat, it is the failure to take action. If we are too afraid to put ourselves out there and experience new things or be vulnerable we will never experience the full extent of life or what it means to be alive, human even. When we hesitate because we are afraid of rejection, humiliation, pain, or the fear of failure, we are cutting ourselves short of our true potential. We learn from a young age that failure equals shame and discomfort through life experiences but we rarely remember that it is the experience of that failure that allows us to mature. There are two phases of the cardiac cycle. In the diastole phase, the heart ventricles are relaxed and the heart fills with blood. In the systole phase, the ventricles contract and pump blood to the arteries. A cardiac cycle is completed when the heart fills with blood and the blood gets pumped out of the heart. The events of the cardiac cycle described below trace the path of the blood as it enters the heart, is pumped to the lungs, travel back to the heart and is pumped out to the rest of the body. Note that the events that occur in the first and second diastole phases happen at the same time. This is also true for the events of the first and second systole phases. Cardiac Cycle: 1st Diastole Phase During the diastole phase, the atria and ventricles are relaxed and the atrioventricular valves are open. De oxygenated blood from the superior and inferior vena cavae flows into the right atrium. The open atrioventricular valves allow blood to pass through to the ventricles. The SA nodes contracts triggering the atria to contract. The right atrium empties its contents into the right ventricle. The tricuspid valve prevents the blood from flowing back into the right atrium. (About.com) Cardiac Cycle: 1st Systole Phase According to Richard E. K. Rumors from England that more taxes might follow encouraged some colonists to begin thinking about whether they really consented to taxes passed by a Parliament to which they elected no representatives. (1) This particular legislation of taxation caused tensions between colonists and local imperial officials, who readdressed the colonists concerns that the British Parliament would not address American complaints concerning the new laws. The unwillingness to respond to American demands for change by the British opened the doors to colonial argument that they were part of a corrupt and tyrannical empire in which their traditional liberties were at stake! This position eventually served as the foundation for the Declaration of Independence. As the British government emerged from the Seven Years War in 1763, they were troubled with outstanding debts. This led British Prime Minister George Grenville to reduce the tax collected on items such as sugar and molasses as they were imported into Great Britain, but also to enforce the law more strictly. Since enforcement of these taxes had previously been lenient, this increased revenue for the British Government in the the long term, and served to increase the taxes paid by the colonists. Milling at high spindle speed is an effective technology for processing various materials. During milling, unstable self excited vibrations known as regenerative chatter can occur, causing excessive tool wear or failure and a poor surface finish on the machined work piece. There are several analyzing techniques that are used to increase the stability of the machining process such as, fuzzy arithmetic techniques, stability lobe diagram(SLD),Structural dynamic modification. Based on these analyzing techniques how the operating variables are changed to obtain the different predicted results is studied. Keywords: chatter, spindle speed. Introduction: High speed milling is extensively used in manufacturing process. The generation of complex shapes with high accuracy and quality is the main advantage of milling process. In a real world setting there are many variables that influence a machining process and each one can carry small errors or uncertainties, which can lead to major deviations in the finished quality of fabricated parts. It therefore becomes important to research novel models to account for parameter uncertainties in order to develop more practical models. During ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Analysis Of The Road Not Taken By Robert Frost The Road Not Taken is a poem by Robert Frost that was written as a narrative based on him and his friend, Thomas Edward. Frost and Edward would take long walks together in the woods in England. There were always complaints at the end of their walks that they should have taken a different path. This inspired Frost to write this poem. It talks about great importance in our everyday lives and further suggests that any choice a person makes in life, how small it may seem at first, will always have some sort of impact on an individual in the future. The start of the poem is focused on a road divided. However, the conflict arises with the fact that the poet himself cannot be divided to take both paths. He is looking down a fork in the road. And as he is lost in thought as gazes down the two roads that look very similar in appearance, he understands that the choice that is made could potentially change his life. The two roads diverged in a yellow wood is an extended metaphor that represents the decisions that we are faced with every day. This first stanza is also a metaphor signifying that while we are free to choose things in life, we sometimes may not know what we are choosing between. The poem describes an emblematic impasse that many may face, both factually and symbolically. There are several forks in the road; those that force us one to make choices and decisions that will determine ones fate. It provides a view into the obstacles that are encountered in life and ... To Kill a Mockingbird by Horton Foote has some similar things going for it. Jem Finch a 10 year old boy and his 6 year old sister Scout (also referred to as Jean Louis) experience situations where this is very relevant. The screenplay is set in Maycomb, Alabama in 1932. The town is still fairly racist, this is really shown in a court case known as the Tom Robinson case. All in all the Theme of To Kill a Mockingbird is do not believe everything you hear. When the three of them first meet Dill says that he does not have a father, but moments later he changes what he means saying My daddy owns the L and N Railroad (Foote 10). If that does not seem a little questionable towards the middle of the screenplay he changes what he says again. Dill says ... my daddy was a railroad man until he got rich. Now he flies airplanes (Foote 47). The whole thing with him and his dad just seems like it is exaggerated or made up after this point. Systematic Review Paper Abstract Traditionally, systematic reviews (SR) are descriptive secondary research, which may or may not be accompanied by statistical methods (metaanalysis) of pooling the results of primary, quantitative studies to answer a clinical question or test a hypothesis (Chalmers 1996). Similarly, qualitative primary studies can be pooled and synthesised in order to develop new theories to aid decision making, re shape policies, and influence professional practices. Over the past 20 years, patient and public involvement (PPI) in research have become increasingly crucial, which has fuelled the increasing popularity of qualitative research as better ways of incorporating public and patient views into health, social and economic policies. The products that we buy, the food that we consume, the clothes and shoes that we wear, and our everyday lives are influenced by commercialism. Proponents for commercialism can argue that commercialism as essential in the enhancement of capitalism and free market economy. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The purpose of this essay is to reassess A Midsummer Night s Dream as a dual locale comedy, its meaning essentially linked to the dialectical relationship of Theseus court to the wood outside Athens. Such a reading brings together Renaissance attitudes to the revivification of classical mythology in the context of Christian neo platonic doctrine, reinforces our expectations concerning the Shakespearean love ethic which, in the world of the comedies, ideally looks not with the eyes but with the mind, and attains contemporary pungency via its basis in beliefs concerning the power of witchcraft (Ormerod, 39 52). Puck plays a very important role in the play. The philologists long ago discovered the devilish origin of Puck. Puck is simply one of the names for the devil. His name was invoked to frighten women and children, together with the ogre and the incubus (Kott, 107). This suggests his isolation yet the reader cannot be certain whether this is his own disinterest in involving himself in social life, or whether it had been due to his childhood and conditioning by others I tried to join in the communal joke once. But only once. The narrative style makes it difficult to find the reason why Engleby only attempted to join in the joke once . This theme of isolation is continued throughout the novel with his cowboy tie at the dinner with Stellings, in contrast to his music obsession: Off the top of my head, I can think of at least ten orchestral tunes. Prufrock finds himself in a similar situation, questioning Do I dare/ Disturb the universe? the alliteration emphasising his feeling of isolation and uncertainty on what action he should take. It is suggested that Engleby has a tremendous fear of reincarnation which suggests that to some extent he does see death as a form of escape . This idea has some merit due to his belief that the brief stint in humanity is pointless , and is almost as terrified of the idea of living forever as he is of dying young. This is parallel to Sybil in The Burial of the Dead : I will show you fear in a handful of dust , Eliot implying that eternal life is not something to be longed for but to be apprehensive and fearful of due to the isolation and loneliness which would come with outliving relatives and friends. While these aspects of charter schools have been very important in beginning this movement, ultimately it is the effectiveness of charter schools that will determine their future.
