On the 1st of June, 2015, Intel announced that they acquired Altera, another chip maker in the high
technology industry who is particularly professional in producing programmable chips, by $16.7
billion as well as about $54 per share for Altera shareholders, which was the largest acquisition that
Intel ever made (Nusca, 2015). The price is quite close to which was proposed by Intel, but in fact,
just two months before Intel approved the acquisition, Altera rejected the price that Intel proposed. In
the last few years, Intel suffered from the declining sales of personal computers, of which has been the
main profitability source, and has been dominated by Intel for a long time, as consumers switch their
preference from laptops and personal computers to tablets and other mobile devices (Huddleston,
2015). As a result, away from PCs, Intel has to work harder to get ... Show more content on

Adopting clouds in a typical manufacturing enterprise can save the cost in a multiple way, for example
the elimination of some of the functions that were essential in traditional IT (Xu, 2012). Owing to the
decreasing cost, cloud computing lowers IT barriers to innovation, and also makes enterprises easily
scale their services according to client demand, which is increasingly reliant on accurate information.
Xu (2012) believed that cloud computing may play a critical role in the realization the philosophy of
DAMA Design Anywhere, Manufacture Anywhere (DAMA) . It connects manufacturing resource
planning, enterprise resource planning, engineering resource planning, and customer relationship
management together into a system. With enough computing and communication capabilities, a smart
factory is not modular structured, but making machines able to act independently without direct

The Day Of The Night
Bravery is when you can stand up to things without a drop of fear in your heart and on the night of
March 17th 2015 that s exactly what I did. It was a calm night the sky was cloudless and the only
noise I could hear was laughter. It was St.. Patrick s day and I decided to stay in for the night. I was
preparing for bed when the laughter outside my door got louder. I decided to go a see what was so
funny; little did I know this one move would changed mine and someone else life forever.
I looked over my room balcony and saw a group of kids my age in a circle picking teams for another
round of the game they were playing. As I was about to turn and go back inside one of the many
voices yelled up to me and said Hey, wanna join? . My first thought was to say no because I didn t
know any of them but then I remembered how boring my day went and decided to go down. I shouted
back Sure, why not . I quickly went back in my room changed my clothes and went straight to join the
game. When I got to the group I asked who all playing and what are we playing ? One of the girls that
was in the group said we all are just have to pick teams and Man Hunt, you heard of it? . I replied
Okay and Yea I played it before . She then started a game of Rock Paper Scissors to give us the two
main captains for the teams. We let them choose who they wanted and right after we started the game.
We played about two good rounds and decided to rest. During our break we all had a chance to talk

John Stuart Mill on Individual Liberty Essay
John Stuart Mill on Individual Liberty
Definition of Individual liberty
In his work On Liberty, Mill placed much emphasis on individual liberty and its vital role in political
society. To Mill, this phrase may be defined as the liberty of the individual to be the final judge over
his actions; to decide what is right and wrong and to act upon that standard. On a secondary level, it
also implies one s freedom to pursue one s own individuality. Mill believed in a society in which each
individual leads his own distinctive life according to his own unique talents; unfettered by regulations
upon thought, opinion, actions etc.
However, Mill asserts an important caveat; that which he calls `the very simple principle . He writes,
`That ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Value of Individual Liberty
Indeed, Mill asserted that the cultivation of one s individuality should be the goal of human existence.
He wrote On Liberty as an argument against repressive laws which inhibit voluntary association and
suppress original ideas and ways of thinking, in a bid to protect the freedom of the individual from
stifling social conventions, oppressive legal controls and censorship. What is the value of individual
liberty that calls for it to be defended so fervently by Mill?
Individual Liberty and Truth
Firstly, Mill believes that individual liberty is instrumental in the attainment of truth. No one can claim
an infallibility of knowledge or a definite truth. Falsehoods are often sprinkled with specks of truth;
and truth may exists as half truths held by different people, and it is only through controversy that the
truth in the parts can be unified into a larger canvas of the ultimate truth. If one s actions were to be
censored completely, society would lose those specks of truth amongst the falsehoods, which would
be disadvantageous to society.
Furthermore, truth is very often not derived from the masses, but from the ideas of a select few. If
these people are silenced by repressive laws or mass opinion, society will be deprived of a chance to

Digital Technology Effects
Digital Technology and The Effects on Human Health Nicholas Reott Kaplan University CM 107:
College Composition I Professor Lee August 15, 2017 Digital Technology and the Effects on Human
Health In this growing and advanced society, modern technology can ultimately play a significant role
in advancing our chosen professions. Presently, the world has been made much more accessible by
modern technology. It is now possible to stay in constant contact with everyone around and work in
areas that were unimaginable just a few short years ago. However, the constant use of this technology
comes at a cost. Increased use of digital technology and current exposure to electronic fields coming
from wi fi and other digital devices such as laptops, cellphones, and iPads can negatively affect
humans mental and emotional health as well as social interaction skills; many of the increased health
problems suffered these days are also the result of an inappropriate use of medical technology. In
recent years, it seems like digital technology has slowly changed people mentally, while on one side it
feeds them with knowledge, and on the other side it negatively affects people s mental and emotional
health. For instance, some people have become over reliant on their technological devices, to the point
that it would take control of their lives, creating stressful situations and affecting their emotional
health. On an emotional level, most of the younger generations want instant

Nuclear Waste Disposal Essay example
Nuclear Waste Disposal
As the millenium approaches, we are faced with the problems created by our technological advances.
Everyday we are forced to see the results, from acid rain to polluted beaches. But there is one problem
in particular that will probably out live our generation and the generation which has created it. If
properly contained and monitored, it has little affect on us and our environment. However, once it is
free of it s containment, it is a destructive and deadly force. This problem is nuclear waste.
Thirty thousand metric tons of spent fuel rods from power reactors and another 380,000 cubic meters
of high level radioactive waste, have been produced in the United States since the beginning of the
nuclear age. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a nuclear reactor of a nuclear power plant, the fission process is contained within the zirconium or
magnesium cladding that surrounds the fuel rods. The fuel rods are spent after the fission takes place.
They are highly radioactive and give off dangerous gamma radiation, which is similar to X ray and
can therefore penetrate through a human body. It is necessary to shield the spent fuel rods with water
and thick lead walls (Bertell, 1985). These fuel rods and their contents, are essentially what comprises
nuclear waste and is what needs to be kept secure for hundreds of thousands of years.
Two types of radiation
There are two types of radiation; particle and penetrating. Penetrating radiation or gamma radiation,
can pass through human tissue and damages cell functions. After about 500 years, gamma radiation in
nuclear fuel waste drops to low enough levels that it poses no real threat to humans (AECB, 1992).
Particle radiation includes alphan and beta radiation. This type of radiation is given off by the longer
lived radioactive substances. This means that the substances remain hazardous for many thousands of
years. Neither these types can penetrate human tissue. However, they can affect cell function and
therefore cause cancer if the radioactive substance has been ingested or inhaled

No Jobs In America Today
background This paper is a final essay assignment for SOC 3421W which is Sociology of Work: Good
Jobs, Bad Jobs, No Jobs? . This essay is about No Jobs in America today, and the effects of a jobless
situation on individuals, and my policy recommendations for increasing good jobs, reducing bad jobs,
and eliminating no jobs will be described in this essay. This sample is the first part of the essay which
includes introduction and some parts about the term, causes and consequences. I have some concerns
about grammar in this essay. Especially, I would like to check whether I have used proper tenses and
a/an and the in sentences correctly or not. No Job in America Today As the economy and technology
in today have been developed constantly, the system of job markets has increased and diversified in
various ways. However, even though the jobs are subdivided more and more, many people still hardly
find the jobs which are perfectly fitted to (fitted to? Or fitted with?) each individual and
unemployment situations are occurred in many different circumstances. Although countless jobs and
people who have jobs exist in modern society, most workers experience frequent unemployment at
some point or between jobs during their working lives. According to Hudson (2002), the
unemployment rate in the United States has stayed at relatively high levels during much of the period
since the end of the Second World War. In this essay, the effects of a jobless situation on individuals

Political Corruption In The US
(Political) Party in the U.S.A. In the United States of America, a large portion of our political beliefs
center around a balanced government, where no one group has complete control over the government.
Where no man can change the whole of America with a swipe of a pen. But, even America, the Land
of the Free, is not free from political corruption. For our government, beautiful as it may seem, hides
away the evils that plague our political system. Is political corruption in the U.S.A real? Or is it simply

Gerrymandering (Britannica). Named after Governor Elbridge Gerry, Gerrymandering is the practice
of manipulating the political boundaries of a place in order to give one side of a political debate an
advantage. An example of this would be if I were a Republican, and changed the voting boundaries so
that I had more support in a certain area. If done well, this single area could outweigh the other areas
in power, winning me whatever area I am running for. Gerrymandering is a common example of

Batteries, Resistance and Current
Introduction: Voltage can be thought of as the pressure pushing charges along a conductor, while the
electrical resistance of a conductor is a measure of how difficult it is to push the charges along. Using
the flow analogy, electrical resistance is similar to friction. For water flowing through a pipe, a long
narrow pipe provides more resistance to the flow than does a short fat pipe. The same applies for
flowing currents: long thin wires provide more resistance than do short thick wires. The resistance (R)
of a material depends on its length, cross sectional area, and the resistivity (the Greek letter rho), a
number that depends on the material. The resistivity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Most of VASEP members are prestige seafood producers and exporters, represent 80% of the total
seafood exports of Vietnam; the others are service enterprises.
In the Plenary Congress of the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP)
which took place in HCM City on June 12, 2012 the Association s 14th anniversary, Mr. Tran Thien
Hai, VASEP Chairman said that Viet Nam s seafood enterprises have long struggled with numerous
market barriers, raw materials, and credit crunch, etc. However, the industry still keeps growing
thanks to band aid measures. But now, VASEP and seafood enterprises must get real about the threats
and the join forces to develop in a sustainable manner. Although many enterprises are in trouble,
others still performs well. Therefore, we need to decide which target is more important; the US$6.5
billion export turnover or the sustainable development?
The recent spectacular achievements would not last if the seafood industry does not restructure
themselves, said Dr. Nguyen Huu Dung, VASEP Vice President. The fast growth in volume negatively
affected the quality. As the external condition changes, enterprises will fall into hardship. Therefore, it
is crucial that the enterprises and government evaluate themselves and the situation, said Dung.
According to Dung, the seafood enterprises in Viet Nam have undertaken restructuring since 2008. At
present, the number of farming areas owned by enterprises increase day by day.

Online Dating Disadvantages
Adult life today is filled with lots of responsibilities and busy schedules. Some adults feel that it is
hard to find time to meet new people of interest for dating the old fashioned way that you get to meet

INTRODUCTION
When we walk through the halls of a modern office building, unless there are underlying
psychological issues, few wonder if today will be the day the building collapses. Few people question
if the floor is strong enough for their weight, if the wind will blow over the structure, or if there are
enough exits to safely get out of the structure in an emergency. Why is it that all over the world, for
the most part, buildings are relatively similar? Why is it that people don t question the structural
intergrity of a facility every time they enter? The answer is standardized construction through the
incorporation of Building Codes. Over thousands of years the process of regulating construction has
become so engrained into society that few today question the integrity of their office building,
highways, or homes.

An Integral Theory Of Consciousness Essay
An Integral Theory of Consciousness and RR Ken Wilber (1997) reviewed various dimensions of the
theories of consciousness in existing literature and proposes an integral theory that will incorporate
most of the prominent existing theories. The theory Wilber proposes is an Integral Theory of
Consciousness . Specifically, he reviews the cognitive science outlooks: introspectionism;
neuropsychology; individual psychotherapy; social psychology; clinical psychiatry; developmental
psychology; problematic medicine views, nonordinary states of consciousness view; eastern and
contemplative tradition; quantum consciousness; subtle energies point of views on the consciousness
state and functions.
After the review, Wilber comes to the conclusion that, The interior dimensions of the human being
seem to be composed of a spectrum of consciousness (p. 10). The spectrum, in this instance, defines
conditions or values that vary infinitely within a continuum. In other words, there is a kind of
indefinite transformation, in terms of quality and volume of information between the initial state and
the goal state within the domain of consciousness. This conclusion by Wilbur has implication on the
complexity of the RR processes, as described by Vervaeke (2012). Furthermore, Vervaeke even
described the initial and the goal state as sometimes unknown within the system (Vervaeke, 2016).
The important finding here is that the discovery of the Wilber agrees with the complexity feature of

Open Source Productivity Tools That Run On Windows
Open Source Productivity Tools that run on Windows
Performers frequently describe a system of rules as being open source or free software. The term open
source adverts to thing that people can change and share because of the reason that, its design is
publicly approachable. This term developed in the context of software evolution to delegate a
particular approach to make computer programs. Nowadays, nevertheless, open source delegates a
wider set of values that we call as the open source way.
Open source tasks, products, or enterprises clench and observe rules of open exchange, cooperative
involvement, fast modeling, opacity, social organization, and community oriented process.
Irrespective of whether a program is open source or not is not the big deal to developers, it finally
concerns for users, too. In short, open source software permits, give users freedoms they would not
differently have.
Idea of Open Source
Suppose that, a program is open source and its source code is freely accessible to its users. Then, its
users and anyone other can have the power to yield this source code, change it as per their
requirement, and dispense their own variants of the program. People also have the power to dispense
as many transcripts of the fresh program as they want. Anyone can utilize the program for any intent;
there are no license fees or different limitations of the software. Image 1 Caption: Open Source

Meiosis Development And Aging Chapter 3 Summary
Chapter Three: Meiosis, Development and Aging Supportive Structures Form When an embryo forms,
supportive structures develop that are crucial for proper growth. These structures support and protect
these developmental embryos. Some of these structures are the umbilical cord, amniotic sac, the
placenta, yolk sac, chorionic villi, and the allantois. During the third week of embryonic development
after conception, chorionic villi connect to the uterine wall, which provide maximum contact with
maternal blood. They sprout from chorion, are an essential element in pregnancy and a product of
conception. Branches of the umbilical arteries carry embryonic blood to the villi. Although the mother

Twins can be either monozygotic or dizygotic. Monozygotic or identical twins develop from one
zygote, which splits and forms two embryos. They are natural clones of each other and are genetically
identical. There are three types of monozygotic twins that can form, that depends on early
development in the fertilized ovum or embryo splits. The first type of monozygotic twins have
separate amnions and chorions. About one third of identical twins separate before the trophoblast
forms on the fifth day. The second type of identical twins that share one chorion and one amnion. This
type of split happens about one percent in monozygotic twins, because the tissue splits after these
structures are already developed. The third type of twins that are monozygotic, share a chorion and a
different amnion. This type of split occurs in about two thirds of identical twins. Identical twins occur
in about thirty percent of births in the world, although not all twins survive long enough to be born.
Dizygotic or fraternal twins occur when two sperm fertilize two separate eggs. This usually occurs
when two eggs are released from the ovaries and are fertilized. Dizygotic twins normally run in

Is it ever just to kill another human being? No, one cannot justly kill someone. Everyone has a time;
and humans can t alter the fates of another. In William Shakespeare s play Julius Caesar, the main
character, Julius Caesar is made out to be an ambitious and arrogant dictator in Rome. He is
surrounded by childhood friends, including his best friend and murderer, Brutus. Brutus is
manipulated by Cassius, a roman senator and part of the conspiracy, into believing romans want Julius
Caesar dead, so they form a conspiracy to kill Caesar. Although, the Romans say Brutus is honorable,
Brutus is not justified in killing Julius Caesar because the conspiracy is driven by jealousy, he is
manipulated into believing Caesar should die and romans are ... Show more content on

Tricking him into doing what s good for the people . The next way they try to manipulate Brutus is by
flattering him. In the play Brutus is a very self conscious character. He might be the same as Caesar
but he doesn t see this. I have heard Where many of the best respect in Rome, Except Immortal Caesar
speaking of Brutus and groaning underneath his age s yoke Have wish d that noble Brutus had his
eyes (I.ii.60). Cassius is convincing Brutus into believing he really is a brave and noble man. By doing
this Brutus will be more offended by Caesar s remarks and want to join the conspiracy. To wrap up,
Brutus is in fact manipulated into killing Caesar. Lastly, Romans change rulers so quickly. The
Romans show repeatedly throughout the play that their opinions are easily altered. Additionally, in the
beginning of the play Caesar kills Pompey. Just before his death the Romans worshiped and loved
Pompey. Then directly after his defeat they cheered. Praising Caesar for his victory in killing their
deceased idol. With patient expectation to see the great Pompey pass the streets of rome... That comes

support the killing of Caesar. The Romans are so easily wavered yet this happens in another place in
Shakespeare s play Julius Caesar. Shortly after Caesar s

Teaching A Foreigner Language And An Training Of Teaching...
The aim of this essay is to reflect the experience of teaching a foreigner language and an analyzation
of teaching strategies. The first part of the essay is an evaluation of the weaknesses and strengths of a
Task Based Learning (TBL). Second part of the essay is a self reflection on my peer teaching lesson
and how I could apply in practice the Presentation, Production, Practice (PPP) teaching strategy and
how to improve my teaching skills.
Firstly, the positive parts of the TBL lesson, the Teacher (T) was leading the lesson by concentrating
on the local needs of the Learners(L) (Tarone and Yule, 1990). To investigate the L s knowledge, she
used the life experience for learning the language (Tarone and Yule,1991:5). It was a well chosen ...

According to Scrivener all these are pending on the language level of the Ls because the activities
should be more effective to use the language (Scrivener, 2010:58.). Ellis suggesting the lesson could
improve with more concentration of leading process than by using fewer tasks. Furthermore, near to
the end of the class the T could not balance the interaction between herself and the Ls and it led to a
diverted situation which expanded the Teacher Talking Time (Stewick, 1980).
Following strategies, I learned during the observation that the best way is to shorten the controlled
practice to use more talking tasks. During the preparation of the lesson, T need to keep the attention of
the Ls, and give clear instructions, use tools such as pictures and the writing on board because they
would lose motivations to do the task easily. Also, during the activity, the T s role is to monitor how
the L could work together in groups and individually. The most practical way of the seating is the
horseshoe arrangement (Gower, Phillips, and Walters, 2014).
In order to identify our strengths and weaknesses of our teaching skills, each member of the class
participated in a 10 minutes peer teaching lesson. My chosen language was Hungarian and the aim of
the lesson was to learn the different pronunciation some letters which English does not include.
The main difficulties I had to face with were the planning the lesson and my anxiety. For me the

The Arctic Of The Antarctic Circle
Any point north of the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle will have one period in the
summer when the sun does not set, and one period in the winter when the sun does not rise. At
progressively higher latitudes, the maximum periods of midnight sun and polar night are progressively
longer. For example, at the military and weather station Alert located at 82°30′05″N and 62°20′20″W,
on the northern tip of Ellesmere Island, Canada (about 450 nautical miles or 830 km from the North
Pole), the sun begins to peek above the horizon for minutes per day at the end of February and each
day it climbs higher and stays up longer; by 21 March, the sun is up for over 12 hours. On 6 April the
sun rises at 0522 UTC and remains above the horizon until it sets below the horizon again on 6
September at 0335 UTC. By October 13 the sun is above the horizon for only 1 hour 30 minutes and
on October 14 it does not rise above the horizon at all and remains below the horizon until it rises
again on 27 February.[17] First light comes in late January because the sky has twilight, being a glow
on the horizon, for increasing hours each day, for more than a month before the sun first appears with
its disc above the horizon. From mid November to mid January, there is no twilight. In the weeks
surrounding 21 June, in the northern polar region, the sun is at its highest elevation, appearing to circle
the sky there without going below the horizon. Eventually, it does go below the horizon,

Analysis Of The Ghost Of King Hamlet
The Puppet Master
The Ghost of King Hamlet in William Shakespeare s Hamlet is a heavily debated character within the
play. Although the Ghost calls Hamlet his son there s no proof the Ghost is in fact the spirit of King
Hamlet. Which brings into question the nature of its character and motives. The Ghost of King Hamlet
is clearly evil based on its willingness to jeopardize Hamlets soul for revenge against Claudius. Based
solely on a religious standpoint, we could come to a few conclusions about the Ghost in Hamlet. One
being that even Hamlet was unsure of its origin and purity. He was afraid when he says Angels and
ministers of grace defend us! Be thou a spirit of health or goblin damned (Hamlet 1.4.39). John
Mullan, a Professor of English at University College London speculates in his Ghosts in Shakespeare
article that He does not simply take word of the Ghost on trust, ...and devout Protestants did not
believe in Ghosts, and Protestant Theologians often argued that apparitions could therefore only be
devices of the devil to disturb and mislead Christians (Mulan). We know Shakespeare struggled with
his own faith. In knowing this, it s hard to determine which faith characteristics he would have given
the Ghost and Hamlet, but it does seem like more than one was used for Hamlets character. King
Hamlet s Ghost appears to Hamlets saying, I am thy fathers spirit doomed for a certain term to walk
the night and for the day confined to fast in fires, Till

Egg Chromatography Lab
Introduction
Chromatography is an experimental technique used to separate a substance into its components based
upon their polarities or non polarities. The purpose of this experiment was to use thin layer
chromatography to separate lipid molecules in an egg yolk sample. Silica thin layer chromatography
(TLC) plates were used along with the egg yolk sample and standard solutions of the three lipids that
were extracted from the egg yolk. Very small portions of the analytes were added to the plate and
placed into the chromatography chamber, which was filled with a solution of chloroform, methanol,
and water. The egg yolk separated into its components, and the standard solutions also moved
according to polarities. The hydroxyl groups on the plate due to the silica hydrogen bond with polar
molecules, preventing them from moving as far as nonpolar molecules. 1 ... Show more content on

The TLC plate was also used to confirm that these lipids are present in egg yolk by comparing the dots
to the dots from the egg yolk sample that separated on the TLC plate. Retention factors were
calculated to compare how far each dot traveled based on polarity. This lab is relevant to the
discussion of polar and nonpolar molecules, the brief overview of chromatography in the textbook,
and discussions on hydrogen bonding. In the field of biochemistry, chromatography is frequently used
for DNA fingerprinting, quality analysis in the food industry, diagnosis of diseases and disorders,
polymer synthesis, and even the Ebola immunization.

What Are The Importance Of Countries Around The World
Every once in a while we come across facts that change our perspective of the world. One such fact is
the existence of countries which when put together can probably cover half of the area of some cities
from the rest of the large countries around the globe. These countries, like most countries, have their
own set of laws, governance, cultures and picturesque locales.
1. Vatican City.
Spread across an area of 110 acres, the Vatican City is a country within the city of Rome. With a
population of 1,000, the country is the smallest, not just in terms of area but also population. The

Ocean. The total land area of the islands of Tuvalu is 26 square kilometres and has a population of
10,640. The country was once a British territory but became independent in 1978. Tourism is not very
significant due to the location of the island. In 2010, less than 2,000 visitors came to Tuvalu, with 65%
of them coming for business. The official languages are Tuvaluan and English.
5. San Marino.
The Republic of San Marino, also known as the Most Serene Republic of San Marino is an enclaved
microstate surrounded by Italy, situated on the Italian Peninsula on the north eastern side of the
Apennine Mountains. Its size is just over 61 square kilometres with a population of 33, 562. It is said
to be the oldest surviving sovereign state in the world, and is also one of the wealthiest in terms of
GDP per capita. The country s economy mainly relies on finance, industry, services and tourism.
6. Liechtenstein.
The Principality of Liechtenstein is a doubly landlocked German speaking microstate in Central
Europe. It has an area of just over 160 square kilometres and an estimated population of 37,000. It is
an alpine country and mainly mountainous, making it a winter sport destination. Tourism makes up for
a large part of the country s economy.

Zoology Career Research Paper
Aside from my passion for the subject of zoology, I feel I am a good fit for this career based on some
basic skills I possess which are required for great zoologists. First of all, I question everything and I
feel a need to gain knowledge. I enjoy reading my biology textbook and feel so satisfied with the
knowledge, which spews out of it onto me. My mind is one full of curiosity and I am always searching
for answers. I enjoy conducting biology type experiments in my undergraduate class laboratories, such

For example, some research zoologists must travel far and often, in order to collect the data for their
studies. In a published interview conducted by student Diane J. Blackwood with zoologist Dr. Wesley
R. Elsberry, he said it is a wonderful field for people who like the work but It is a terrible field for
anybody else, since the positions are far fewer in number than the qualified candidates to fill them. In
line with the concept of supply and demand , zoologists get paid little. You do the work because you
like or love doing it, not because of the paycheck that comes with it (Elsberry). The United States
Bureau of Labor Statistics states that as of 2015, the national estimates for a zoologist or wildlife
biologist mean salary is $64,230. California has 2,260 zoologists employed, with an annual mean
wage of $69,560 (US Bureau of Labor Statistics). These salaries may be slightly off and not
completely trusted because they do not take into account the level of education that they were
measuring for. The pay and the competition that come with this career are somewhat disappointing for
the level of education required, however, I feel that this is my calling and because I will love doing it,
the pay will not matter that much to me. I do not want to let statistics put me down or get in the way of
my career choices. Besides, I would much rather do what I love, than do what I do not, like being a
doctor, even if it pays less. Dr. Wesley R. Elsberry also states another drawback to his job when he
said, the work is hard, sometimes tedious, sometimes exciting and always a bit unpredictable. With
soft money (research grant money) you never know for sure about your job next year. Some folks
have permanent positions no matter what; they just don t know what work will be doing. Others (like

Christine s half sister. Throughout the book, there are many references towards the book s themes and
are examined and highlighted throughout the book. Family and finding your true identity are the main
themes in this book because throughout the book, Rayona s past remains a mystery to her all because

The color yellow appears most at Bearpaw Lake State Park, where a yellow raft is in blue water.
Rayona feels the yellow boat as an escape from reality and feels peaceful whenever she s on it. This is
because of Ellen DeMarco. When Rayona sees Ellen for the first time, Rayona admires her because
she assumes that Ellen has a perfect life that Rayona dreams and imagines of having, even when Ellen
gets off and on the yellow raft. The yellow raft is so precious to Rayona that the yellow raft
symbolizes the life that Rayona is desperate for, but she cannot and most likely will never have. In
Christine s section, she challenged herself to cross a naturally built yellow stone bridge while she was
growing up. Unfortunately, she never was able to cross the bridge by herself and failed every time she

providing and availability in under developed countries. The author will explain, in order, responses to
the question of what the challenges are in under developed countries, will speak to research generated
strategies about how to address those challenges, and will offer strategies for how a nurse can

There are number of factors that make healthcare in certain nations difficult to impossible to keep
fluid and proper for the citizenry involved. There are obvious examples like locations and amounts
hospitals and doctor offices but there are also other major examples that some people gloss over or

plumbing and supply delivery lifelines. Another example would be a dearth in qualified nurses and
doctors due to circumstances like sub standard schools and colleges, presuming they are even present

Essay And What I Say
The Great Depression lasted from October 24, 1929 until the economic recovery of the 1940s. On
October 29, Black Thursday, the stock market crashed heavily, and continued to fall sharply
throughout the coming weeks. As a result, the United States and the world were thrown into a decade
of poverty and unemployment. The depression affected all sectors of the economy. Farm owners and
agricultural workers suffered from falling crop prices. Businesses failed from a lack of investment
support and a decline in the ability of the masses to afford their products. Banks closed their doors as
the nation s citizens hoarded their money and defaulted on loan payments. Unemployment and abject
poverty enveloped the nation.

The nation mobilized, and it appeared the economy might improve. However, the economy remained
troubled, and criticism of the New Deal rose up in the government and in some political circles. A
number of Supreme Court Rulings effectively dismantled the primary mechanisms of FDR s plan.
Undaunted, and gaining a public mandate with the Democratic successes in the 1934 midterm
election, FDR set forth the Second New Deal in 1935. This program reaffirmed the administration s
commitment to public support of the nation s troubled people. Great steps were taken in attempts to
solve the unemployment problem and stimulate economic recovery. The legislation passed during this
period would be the framework of the New Deal throughout the remainder of the decade. The
economy showed some signs of recovery but was set back by the 1937 recession. After that, FDR
enacted few additional measures to cope with the depression. Finally, economic recovery took place
under the war economy of the early 1940s, with levels of poverty and unemployment returned to pre
depression levels.
The Depression brought marked changes to the political and entertainment culture of the United
States. A culture of dissent and disillusionment produced ample political outlets, such as Huey Long s
Share Our Wealth program. Dissent and disillusionment sparked by the depression affected popular
culture as well. The 1930s were the golden age of radio. Radio shows, most of them comedies and
soap operas,

Price Gouging In The United States
The idea of price gouging can have many different perspectives on it, and is very controversial. Price
gouging is when a seller spikes their prices of goods, services, or other purchase products to a level
higher than reasonable. Ethically, I do agree with the fact that merchants shouldn t sky rocket their
product prices during a state of emergency price gouging.
Illegally, price gouging is continuing to affect our labor market and offset the cost of living in many
states. Price gouging is continuing to affect the health of many people due to pharmaceutical
companies and their major increases in price. Lastly, price gouging just is unjust, immoral, and against
the law in states. While there are no federal regulations to price gouging and ... Show more content on

Price gouging occurs when a merchant drastically raises their prices on daily necessities. When setting
cities living wage and cost of living, the cost of daily necessities plays a role. Cost of living is the
amount of money needed to sustain a certain level of living, including basic expenses such as housing,
food, taxes and health care.
A book called The fundamentals of minimum wage fixing by Francois Eyraud and Catherine Saget
talks brief about cost of living and how it is incorporated into minimum wage. The authors gave
different ways on how the cost of living is determined. According to the two, they shared that the cost
of living is determined by the price of goods (standard necessities to live), and wage statistics
submitted by the United States Department of Labor (Eyraud, Saget, 2005). Both living wage and cost
of living differentiates by state and cities. Cost of living effects how the government set the nations
minimum wage. When merchants continuously raise prices of daily necessities and they are
unreasonable, it can affect the cost of living. To prevent this trickle down effect, the United States
government should create federal regulations on price gouging to prevent an increase in cost of living
which then leads to an increase in minimum wage, which then leads to possible jobs

Little Women Book Vs Movie
What bond is stronger than sisterhood? Although the movie, Little Women, shares many basic
components with the book by Louisa May Alcott, there are still many differences which set them
apart, such as directors choice, dramatic irony, feelings and much more. The director of the movie,
Little Women chose to keep mostly true to the book, while adding some scenes that helped the movie
show more emotions that made it a bit more like the book. For example, in the beginning, of the
movie the director had a scene where Laurie sitting at the window, watching the girls deliver food to
their neighbors, which wasn t a part of the book. I think the director did this because he wanted us to
know that he would be in the movie later on. Although this was a difference, one similarity was how
Jo and Laurie met. In both they met at a party, Laurie was standing behind a curtain because he was
shy, and Jo ended up behind that curtain because she was trying to get away from a guy that wanted to
ask her to dance. I think the director chose to keep this because it shows that Jo is more of a
mischievous person, which is described in the book, but is shown in the movie. The director did a

was different was when Laurie called Mrs. March to come home early when Beth was sick, in the

Disney s Stereotypes
Introduction
For many of us, Walt Disney Pictures have played a large part in our childhood. Giroux (1995) even
goes as far as saying that Disney are just as useful as school teachers and parents at teaching values
and morals to younger children. For the past century, many kids have looked up to Disney characters
with great admiration. Although these characters may have taught us lessons and inspired us to aim for
our dreams, they have also exposed us to the beauty goodness stereotype (Dion, Berscheid, Walster,

Hydrogen Peroxide And Catalase Reaction Lab
The rate of reaction between Catalase and the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) can vary depending on
many factors including the enzyme concentration in a solution. In this investigation, the rate of
reaction will be measured by the change in temperature of the liquefied spinach (catalase) over a
period of 30 seconds, once the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has been added into the solution.
It is expected that the change in temperature will initially increase as the concentration of the Catalase
increases in the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). As more Catalase is added into the hydrogen peroxide
(H2O2), the rate of reaction is expected to increase due to a higher concentration of enzyme present
and therefore a greater frequency of successful collisions between the enzyme and substrates resulting
in a faster breakdown of the substrate. However, as the concentration of the Catalase approaches
100% concentrated, it is expected for the change in temperature (reaction rate) to plateau. This occurs
as there is only a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hypothesis stated that if the concentration of Catalase increases from 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%,
then the percentage difference in the temperature (degrees) of the liquefied spinach will increase, until

The hypothesis was tested by adding 50ml of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into four different
concentrations of Catalase (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%). The temperature of the Catalase was
measured before and 30 seconds after the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) had been added. It was
discovered that the rate of reaction initially increased as the concentration of Catalase increased, but
started to plateau after the 75% concentrated catalase. Therefore, the hypothesis of this experiment

The Role Of Managerial Roles With Paperwork
A conversation with practitioner two, that was recorded in the field notes revealed staff not wanting to

managing ,
I don t like the idea of managing, I don t think I manage (Practitioner two).
Furthermore, Lindon and Lindon (2012) suggest a reason for practitioners disliking management
aspects of their job is that it does not involve interactions with children. As early years practitioners,
the most important aspect of the job is working with the children.

The staff stressed the feeling of being uncomfortable with ordering the students about. This would
suggest it is something they are not used to (Field notes, 4th June, 2014).
Because many staff within this setting have worked with children for many years. There is still a deep
seated reluctance to manage people, it does not come naturally. Managing children is what they are
used to. However, the learning and development that staff has engaged in has benefited their
understanding and confidence, which was made reference to in most interviews. (Reflective journal,

It may be that as practitioners shy away from the word teaching to describe their role because it is seen
as too formal, so the word managing also implies a way of working that is too formal (DCSF, 2011).
Elements of effective distributed leadership.
When practitioners were asked about their views on the distributed leadership within the setting there
were a number of elements that they believe attributed to the distributed leadership.

good for everyone. The doctor, similar to how the officers operate, uses a constitution, rules meant to
protect populations, that justifies the regulation of people s bodies. The doctor tells Assata that she
should have an abortion because there is already a probability that she would abort. The doctor
appears to want to help Assata from carrying a doomed pregnancy thus inflict meaningless stress on
her body. However, the doctor uses an excuse in an attempt to force regulation on Assata s body, after
all natural abortion rates are the same for everyone. (123) Assata child propagates the idea of Black

American Healthcare System
This study has also covered the weaker aspects of the prevailing American healthcare system. The
financial basis of healthcare improvement lay in enhanced business savvy on the part of the
administrators and providers of healthcare. It is the lack of healthcare and business savvy that is
impeding the American citizens from accessing adequate health. The American healthcare system
involves socialized and privatized healthcare. The socialized healthcare system is inefficient due to
lack of financial balance to support adequate care for every American.
The healthcare providers and administrators lack adequate management skills to ensure efficient
continuity of the business. The currency fluctuation has led to escalating healthcare cost that requires

During the crisis, the primary concern of the organization is to influence the key public s attitudes
favorably. The way the public perceive the information regarding the organization may profoundly
affect their attitudes. According to this theory, the information will affect an individual s attitude
system based on its weight and valence. Valence reflects the perception of an individual of how bad or
good the information is. On the other hand, weight is the function of reliability. Here, the focus is on
the process and the way target audiences incorporate information and the way their attitudes are
affected by it. Practically, the information integration theory needs health care institutions to consider
both weight and valence when arranging for the information to be given to the public during the crisis.
It is critical to contextualize the information and enlighten the members of the target audience the
degree of the danger or risk presented by the risk to allow them (the target audience) to judge the
impact of risk accurately (Goodman, 2012, p.

Evolution of Airpower Essay

Evolution of Airpower
The evolution of airpower is a very broad subject that you could spend a lifetime researching and
writing about (definitely not my objective). It is not my intent to get into the weeds on this subject but
rather, give a 30,000 foot view as one of my Colonels was famous for asking for on almost any subject
that he needed to be briefed on. With that being said, the outline I intend to follow is:
I. The Wright Brothers
II. World War I
III. Between the Wars
IV. World War II
V. The Cold War
The Wright Brothers
It has been almost 110 years since the Wright Brothers made their first powered flight in Kitty Hawk,
North Carolina. I believe it is highly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the two camps did agree on some conceptual ideas such as Pershing supporting to some
degree, strategic missions, he strongly disagreed with Mitchell s desire to create an air force
independent of the ground forces (ix). Not agreeing with your boss is not a new concept, especially in
the military, but Billy Mitchell seemed to want to make an art form of it. Being a bit outspoken, he
attacked the War and Navy Department for being insufficiently farsighted regarding airpower
(Meilinger). He believed that surface fleets were obsolete and proved the point, to at least him, with
the sinking of several battleships during bombing test held in 1921 and 1923. His flamboyant actions,
like his disregard for the rule of engagement in the sinking of the German battleship Ostfriesland (and
the dropping of a bomb on the still churning spot were the ship slipped beneath the waves to add
injury to insult) brought attention to his ultimate goal of an independent air force, but his inability to
keep his mouth shut finally lead to his undoing. In September 1925, the US Navy dirigible
Shenandoah (ZR 1) crashed in a storm in Ohio, killing 14 of the crew. This event, on the heels of
another aviation disaster when US Navy flying boat PN9 No. 1 was lost at sea

abrera made his major league debut on June 20, 2003, at 20 years old; Édgar Rentería, at 19 years old,

first major league game, following Billy Parker in 1972 and Josh Bard in 2002 as the third player
since 1900 to hit a game winning home run in his big league debut.
Cabrera became the Marlins cleanup batter. Cabrera s postseason play helped propel Florida to a
World Series championship over the New York Yankees and also landed him on the cover of ESPN

Case Study Of Ritz Carlton
Being the Management consultant, advices and recommendations to the HR manager about how to
improve the current organisational culture, the different ways of how to improve the working
environment in order to motivate the employees and finally how to maintain and strengthen the team
loyalty are being provided.
TASK 1:
Organisational theory is the discipline which studies the structure and design of an organisation. It
analyses the actual structure of organisations and offers suggestions on how their effectiveness could
be improved.
Organisation structure is mainly about how the work of teams and individuals is being coordinated
within an organisation.

It combines the traditional departments in functional structures with project teams.
The advantages that the matrix structure will provide to Ritz Carlton is that there will be an improved
sense of commitment and dedication on behalf of employees to their jobs. This is an opportunity for
them to pursue skills which are bases on their interest. The employees will find this more motivating
and satisfying. Moreover the usage of resources is maximised as new products and changes can be
incorporated quickly by moving and regrouping the teams based on the necessity.
However this type of structure is very hard to manage. This is the problem that Ritz Carlton might be
facing because the employees will be reporting to two managements with complimentary
responsibilities, so the need of proper coordination with a lot of meeting and excellent interpersonal
skills is required. A lot of effort from the management of Ritz is required in order to maintain the
power balance and resolve the common conflicts arising from role

Ethical Dilemma of Overshooting Airports
On October 21, 2009 Pilot Timothy Cheney and Co pilot Richard Cole of Northwest Airlines flight
188 had overshot Minneapolis International Airport by 150 miles, which carried 147 passengers
because the pilots had been busy using their laptops. The pilots had only received a slap on the wrists
from the FAA; however their punishment should have been a bit harsher because the lives of everyone
on that flight were put at risk because of irresponsible pilots.

The Northwest Airlines pilots who were grounded after overflying the Minneapolis airport by 150
miles are trying to get their licenses back. National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Ted
Lopatkiewicz said Thursday that Captain Timothy Cheney of Gig Harbor, Washington, and First
Officer Richard Cole of Salem, have filed appeals. The FAA revoked the licenses of the pilots last
month. Cole and Cheney had 10 days to appeal to the three member National Transportation Safety
Board, the same agency that investigates air crashes and makes safety recommendations. If their
appeal fails, they can apply for a new license after one year. The Federal Aviation Administration said
the pilots had violated numerous regulations, including failing to comply with air traffic control
instructions and clearances and operating carelessly and recklessly. But the pilots said they had been
so engrossed in a complicated new crew scheduling program on their laptops a cockpit violation of
airline policy that could cost them their licenses that they lost track of time and place for more than an
hour, until a flight attendant on an intercom got their attention. By then, the Airbus A320 with its 144
passengers and five crew members had cruised on autopilot past its Minneapolis destination and was
over Wisconsin, at 37,000 feet. It turned out the plane s radio was still tuned to a frequency used by
Denver controllers, even though the aircraft had flown beyond

The Hardest Job That I Have Ever Had Changed My Life
The hardest job that I have ever had in my life that required a lot of my time and effort, is raising my
sons . I was and I still am a single mother of three boys, Tunji (my oldest), Jaylon and Jaleel (my
twins). This has and is a fulltime job, but I am not going to speak about the present, only my past life
of raising my three sons. I have always worked but there was a time that I had to stop working in order
to focus on my twins. I knew from the age of 1 year old, something just wasn t quite right with their
behavior and cognitive development was lacking in a lot of areas. For example; not talking, just
babbling and pointing at objects, loud noises caused them to shut down and cover their ears, lining up
objects and any little disturbance in their routine caused them to have a tantrum or screaming fit. It
was so hard trying to get answers from doctors, their favorite thing to say to me was it s a twin thing
they will grow out of it. This was the beginning of a long hard road. The three most enjoyable things
that I liked about this job is: Investigating, finding out what was wrong with my sons? Why are they
behaving in this manner? I was relentless in finding out and I didn t stop until I received all the right
answers. I finally started getting answers, first I found out that they had a sleeping disorder, so they
was put on sleeping pills, my thought was YES, I will know get sleep! The second diagnoses was
ADHD, which explained the bouncing off the walls, floors

The Management Team At My Hotel
After failing the Marriott audit on February 10th the management team at my hotel had a three hour
meeting about how to improve our score. Everyone was aware that a Marriott auditor would be
coming back anonymously within sixty days. The Bistro part of the audit was the area that failed
miserably, so that is where management concentrated almost all of their effort on improving their
score. The woman from the Bistro that made a score of zero was allowed to stay on with a warning.
The week after the audit she came into work and hour late for two of her shifts and just decided not to
show up for another shift. I would like to say that management fired her after she skipped her shift
without calling, but no she was given one more chance. The Bistro had a mandatory meeting the next
morning and she was going to be allowed to continue working at The Courtyard if she decided to
show up. She obviously did not show up for the meeting and finally management decided to let her
go. Every person in management had been warned about this woman by almost every member of the
front desk staff. They could have saved themselves from failing audit by listening. A new employee
was hired for the bistro, he has worked for a different Courtyard Bistro and is well trained. Every
morning after the manager s meeting a member of management would come in to evaluate and
monitor the Bistro. I was very impressed with Ashley Miller who is our head of sales. She basically
took the Bistro on as her baby. I

Reflection Paper On Rmsel Family
Greetings fellow RMSEL civilians, I am Dinara for those who didn t know me. And today, I would
like to talk about our little RMSEL community. Our RMSEL community is wonderful, it is full of
compassion, comfort, social acceptance, you name it. I have always dreamed of a little world with all
of these components, and here I am today in that little world; my dream has come true. But, there is
always going to be a problem in this little world that we all live in, and that problem is that we can get
sad pretty easily. That sadness can get carried off to others all around us, it becomes contagious and
dreadful, we can get all these different kinds of emotions just from this sadness. And sometimes our
little community falls apart just because of that vile, cancerous sadness. As RMSEL citizens, we have
to get rid of this sadness, we have to overcome this sadness before it is too late. When I first came to
RMSEL in 6th grade, I felt uncomfortable with my surrounding others. I didn t recognize anyone s
faces and I didn t feel welcomed. But, I didn t give up, I came to this school because I wanted to
achieve in becoming a better person. So I tried to make myself comfortable with the school s system, I
asked questions to the students on how the system is like for this school. They gave me answers, and I
became more and more aware of the school. The students told me everything, but usually in a
traditional school, the explanation on the school s system would be written on

Romanticism In The Open Boat
The beginning of American literature was only in the late seventeenth century during the Puritanism
Era. Even then works primarily focused on religious studies and had not developed continuous themes
of their own. As the country began to grow older through the colonial and revolutionary periods,
American literature grew into what it was by the nineteenth century. Within the Antebellum period,
writers had taken on romanticism, transcendentalism, and realism, creating writings with defined
purposes and overarching themes which could be used to develop claims and commentary on the state
of the nation. The Antebellum period was one full of uncertainties, tensions, political unrest, and the
imminent threat of division. The foundations of America provided basic themes that permeate
literature through the American Civil War freedom, sacrifice, and death.

An Analysis Of Henrik Ibsen s A Doll House
There is a problem in present day with regard; towards sexism. Sexism is the act of one gender putting
down the opposite gender as inferior. In this topic men putting down women as frail and weak minded.
In the early nineteenth century in the United States there are ideas of traditionalism that survive today.
Traditionalism is the old belief that all men, notably the oldest should be the head of the household
and that women should be homemakers. These ideas of women still being weak mentally have
brought great opposition to the idea of a female president. Traditionalist opposition has women body
shamed into the fixed standard of beauty being the skinny Caucasian blonde. People still look down
on women in troubled relationships as being their fault. Henrik Ibsen s A Doll House puts into
criticism the problems brought by traditionalism though the story between Torvald and Nora. Where
Nora has to keep a secret how she saved her husband s life to save her marriage, because she fears a
woman helping a man would shame him into leaving her. Charlotte Perkins Gilman s short tale The
Yellow Wallpaper also criticizes traditionalism and argues the ideals of traditionalism encourage
sexism and is damaging towards women. The story is narrated by an unnamed protagonist going
through a slow descent into madness through her journal, which insinuates her husband, a physician is
encouraging her madness. What these two writings illustrate is that the old traditional beliefs are

Euthanasi An Alternative Mode Of Life Care
End of life care is a prevailing issue in the United States that affects the terminally ill. It includes
physician assisted suicide, which is legal in five states and the practice of euthanasia which is illegal.
(Barone, 2014). Delving deeper into the issue of end of life care reveals that this issue affects far more
than the patient that is suffering. It raises the question of whether or not it is acceptable to reject the
request of a person based solely on the socio religious values of protecting life and ignoring the moral
responsibility of ending the misery of another person even when they explicitly ask to end their
suffering. Terminally ill, elderly, or disabled patients that are aware of the physical and mental
deterioration caused ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patients, families, and physicians that oppose physician assisted suicide, can seek alternative modes of
end of life care, such as palliative care which intends to control suffering and not hasten the death of
the patient. Physician assisted suicide and its alternatives are options for competent patients to hasten
death; however, what are the moral and ethical implications of such practices?
Many people, young and old who are terminally ill or are facing a debilitating disease continually look
for a way to ameliorate their pain and suffering. When the options for cure or successful recovery are
bleak, the patient may ask for physician assisted suicide. It is a procedure done with the consent of the
patient and the patient administers the lethal dose. Physician assisted suicide was first legalized in
Oregon and four other states followed suit in 2008, legalizing physician assisted suicide either through
legislation or case ruling: Vermont, Washington, New Mexico, and Montana (Gonchar, 2014).
Physicians in these five states are protected under the law, allowing them to write prescriptions for
lethal medication if a terminally ill patient makes a request. The prescription drug administered by
doctors to patients used to be pentobarbital, but is now out of production and instead doctors give
secobarbital; the drug consists of a lethal dose of barbiturates, which ultimately lead to the cessation of
brain and nervous system activity (Barone, 2014). A common misconception

Nt1310 Unit 3 Research Papers On the 1st of June, 2015, Intel announced that they acquired Altera, another chip maker in the high technology industry who is particularly professional in producing programmable chips, by $16.7 billion as well as about $54 per share for Altera shareholders, which was the largest acquisition that Intel ever made (Nusca, 2015). The price is quite close to which was proposed by Intel, but in fact, just two months before Intel approved the acquisition, Altera rejected the price that Intel proposed. In the last few years, Intel suffered from the declining sales of personal computers, of which has been the main profitability source, and has been dominated by Intel for a long time, as consumers switch their preference from laptops and personal computers to tablets and other mobile devices (Huddleston, 2015). Adopting clouds in a typical manufacturing enterprise can save the cost in a multiple way, for example the elimination of some of the functions that were essential in traditional IT (Xu, 2012). Owing to the decreasing cost, cloud computing lowers IT barriers to innovation, and also makes enterprises easily scale their services according to client demand, which is increasingly reliant on accurate information. Xu (2012) believed that cloud computing may play a critical role in the realization the philosophy of DAMA Design Anywhere, Manufacture Anywhere (DAMA) . It connects manufacturing resource planning, enterprise resource planning, engineering resource planning, and customer relationship management together into a system. • 4. The Day Of The Night Bravery is when you can stand up to things without a drop of fear in your heart and on the night of March 17th 2015 that s exactly what I did. It was a calm night the sky was cloudless and the only noise I could hear was laughter. It was St.. Patrick s day and I decided to stay in for the night. I was preparing for bed when the laughter outside my door got louder. I decided to go a see what was so funny; little did I know this one move would changed mine and someone else life forever. I looked over my room balcony and saw a group of kids my age in a circle picking teams for another round of the game they were playing. As I was about to turn and go back inside one of the many voices yelled up to me and said Hey, wanna join? . My first thought was to say no because I didn t know any of them but then I remembered how boring my day went and decided to go down. I shouted back Sure, why not . I quickly went back in my room changed my clothes and went straight to join the game. When I got to the group I asked who all playing and what are we playing ? One of the girls that was in the group said we all are just have to pick teams and Man Hunt, you heard of it? . I replied Okay and Yea I played it before . She then started a game of Rock Paper Scissors to give us the two main captains for the teams. We let them choose who they wanted and right after we started the game. We played about two good rounds and decided to rest. During our break we all had a chance to talk and get ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. John Stuart Mill on Individual Liberty Essay John Stuart Mill on Individual Liberty Definition of Individual liberty In his work On Liberty, Mill placed much emphasis on individual liberty and its vital role in political society. To Mill, this phrase may be defined as the liberty of the individual to be the final judge over his actions; to decide what is right and wrong and to act upon that standard. On a secondary level, it also implies one s freedom to pursue one s own individuality. Mill believed in a society in which each individual leads his own distinctive life according to his own unique talents; unfettered by regulations upon thought, opinion, actions etc. However, Mill asserts an important caveat; that which he calls `the very simple principle . He writes, `That ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Value of Individual Liberty Indeed, Mill asserted that the cultivation of one s individuality should be the goal of human existence. He wrote On Liberty as an argument against repressive laws which inhibit voluntary association and suppress original ideas and ways of thinking, in a bid to protect the freedom of the individual from stifling social conventions, oppressive legal controls and censorship. What is the value of individual liberty that calls for it to be defended so fervently by Mill? Individual Liberty and Truth Firstly, Mill believes that individual liberty is instrumental in the attainment of truth. No one can claim an infallibility of knowledge or a definite truth. Falsehoods are often sprinkled with specks of truth; and truth may exists as half truths held by different people, and it is only through controversy that the truth in the parts can be unified into a larger canvas of the ultimate truth. If one s actions were to be censored completely, society would lose those specks of truth amongst the falsehoods, which would be disadvantageous to society. Furthermore, truth is very often not derived from the masses, but from the ideas of a select few. If these people are silenced by repressive laws or mass opinion, society will be deprived of a chance to find out ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Digital Technology Effects Digital Technology and The Effects on Human Health Nicholas Reott Kaplan University CM 107: College Composition I Professor Lee August 15, 2017 Digital Technology and the Effects on Human Health In this growing and advanced society, modern technology can ultimately play a significant role in advancing our chosen professions. Presently, the world has been made much more accessible by modern technology. It is now possible to stay in constant contact with everyone around and work in areas that were unimaginable just a few short years ago. However, the constant use of this technology comes at a cost. Increased use of digital technology and current exposure to electronic fields coming from wi fi and other digital devices such as laptops, cellphones, and iPads can negatively affect humans mental and emotional health as well as social interaction skills; many of the increased health problems suffered these days are also the result of an inappropriate use of medical technology. In recent years, it seems like digital technology has slowly changed people mentally, while on one side it feeds them with knowledge, and on the other side it negatively affects people s mental and emotional health. For instance, some people have become over reliant on their technological devices, to the point that it would take control of their lives, creating stressful situations and affecting their emotional health. Everyday we are forced to see the results, from acid rain to polluted beaches. But there is one problem in particular that will probably out live our generation and the generation which has created it. If properly contained and monitored, it has little affect on us and our environment. However, once it is free of it s containment, it is a destructive and deadly force. This problem is nuclear waste. Thirty thousand metric tons of spent fuel rods from power reactors and another 380,000 cubic meters of high level radioactive waste, have been produced in the United States since the beginning of the nuclear age. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a nuclear reactor of a nuclear power plant, the fission process is contained within the zirconium or magnesium cladding that surrounds the fuel rods. The fuel rods are spent after the fission takes place. They are highly radioactive and give off dangerous gamma radiation, which is similar to X ray and can therefore penetrate through a human body. It is necessary to shield the spent fuel rods with water and thick lead walls (Bertell, 1985). These fuel rods and their contents, are essentially what comprises nuclear waste and is what needs to be kept secure for hundreds of thousands of years. Two types of radiation There are two types of radiation; particle and penetrating. Penetrating radiation or gamma radiation, can pass through human tissue and damages cell functions. After about 500 years, gamma radiation in nuclear fuel waste drops to low enough levels that it poses no real threat to humans (AECB, 1992). Particle radiation includes alphan and beta radiation. This type of radiation is given off by the longer lived radioactive substances. This means that the substances remain hazardous for many thousands of years. Neither these types can penetrate human tissue. However, they can affect cell function and therefore cause cancer if the radioactive substance has been ingested or inhaled ... This sample is the first part of the essay which includes introduction and some parts about the term, causes and consequences. I have some concerns about grammar in this essay. However, even though the jobs are subdivided more and more, many people still hardly find the jobs which are perfectly fitted to (fitted to? Although countless jobs and people who have jobs exist in modern society, most workers experience frequent unemployment at some point or between jobs during their working lives. In the United States of America, a large portion of our political beliefs center around a balanced government, where no one group has complete control over the government. Batteries, Resistance And Current Lab Report PHYS 1112/2212 spring 2016 LAB #9 Batteries, Resistance and Current Introduction: Voltage can be thought of as the pressure pushing charges along a conductor, while the electrical resistance of a conductor is a measure of how difficult it is to push the charges along. Using the flow analogy, electrical resistance is similar to friction. For water flowing through a pipe, a long narrow pipe provides more resistance to the flow than does a short fat pipe. The same applies for flowing currents: long thin wires provide more resistance than do short thick wires. The resistance (R) of a material depends on its length, cross sectional area, and the resistivity (the Greek letter rho), a number that depends on the material. The resistivity ... Therefore, we need to decide which target is more important; the US$6.5 billion export turnover or the sustainable development? Few people question if the floor is strong enough for their weight, if the wind will blow over the structure, or if there are enough exits to safely get out of the structure in an emergency. Why is it that all over the world, for the most part, buildings are relatively similar? Why is it that people don t question the structural intergrity of a facility every time they enter? The answer is standardized construction through the incorporation of Building Codes. After the review, Wilber comes to the conclusion that, The interior dimensions of the human being seem to be composed of a spectrum of consciousness (p. 10). The spectrum, in this instance, defines conditions or values that vary infinitely within a continuum. In other words, there is a kind of indefinite transformation, in terms of quality and volume of information between the initial state and the goal state within the domain of consciousness. This conclusion by Wilbur has implication on the complexity of the RR processes, as described by Vervaeke (2012). Furthermore, Vervaeke even described the initial and the goal state as sometimes unknown within the system (Vervaeke, 2016). Although the Ghost calls Hamlet his son there s no proof the Ghost is in fact the spirit of King Hamlet. Which brings into question the nature of its character and motives. The Ghost of King Hamlet is clearly evil based on its willingness to jeopardize Hamlets soul for revenge against Claudius. Based solely on a religious standpoint, we could come to a few conclusions about the Ghost in Hamlet. One being that even Hamlet was unsure of its origin and purity. He was afraid when he says Angels and ministers of grace defend us! Be thou a spirit of health or goblin damned (Hamlet 1.4.39). Although the movie, Little Women, shares many basic components with the book by Louisa May Alcott, there are still many differences which set them apart, such as directors choice, dramatic irony, feelings and much more. The director of the movie, Little Women chose to keep mostly true to the book, while adding some scenes that helped the movie show more emotions that made it a bit more like the book. For example, in the beginning, of the movie the director had a scene where Laurie sitting at the window, watching the girls deliver food to their neighbors, which wasn t a part of the book. I think the director did this because he wanted us to know that he would be in the movie later on. Although this was a difference, one similarity was how Jo and Laurie met. In both they met at a party, Laurie was standing behind a curtain because he was shy, and Jo ended up behind that curtain because she was trying to get away from a guy that wanted to ask her to dance. I think the director chose to keep this because it shows that Jo is more of a mischievous person, which is described in the book, but is shown in the movie. The director did a good job of keeping me just as hooked as I was when I read the book, he stayed true to the book while adding some of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Giroux (1995) even goes as far as saying that Disney are just as useful as school teachers and parents at teaching values and morals to younger children. For the past century, many kids have looked up to Disney characters with great admiration. Although these characters may have taught us lessons and inspired us to aim for our dreams, they have also exposed us to the beauty goodness stereotype (Dion, Berscheid, Walster, 1972) Whenever we hear someone describe another person as being beautiful , we automatically visualize a tall, slim woman with a curvy bone structure, long, blonde, glossy hair, smooth, sallow skin, crystal blue eyes, peachy lips, ... • 37. Hydrogen Peroxide And Catalase Reaction Lab The rate of reaction between Catalase and the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) can vary depending on many factors including the enzyme concentration in a solution. In this investigation, the rate of reaction will be measured by the change in temperature of the liquefied spinach (catalase) over a period of 30 seconds, once the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has been added into the solution. It is expected that the change in temperature will initially increase as the concentration of the Catalase increases in the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). As more Catalase is added into the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), the rate of reaction is expected to increase due to a higher concentration of enzyme present and therefore a greater frequency of successful collisions between the enzyme and substrates resulting in a faster breakdown of the substrate. However, as the concentration of the Catalase approaches 100% concentrated, it is expected for the change in temperature (reaction rate) to plateau. This occurs as there is only a ... The hypothesis was tested by adding 50ml of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into four different concentrations of Catalase (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%). The temperature of the Catalase was measured before and 30 seconds after the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) had been added. In this topic men putting down women as frail and weak minded. In the early nineteenth century in the United States there are ideas of traditionalism that survive today. Traditionalism is the old belief that all men, notably the oldest should be the head of the household and that women should be homemakers. Many people, young and old who are terminally ill or are facing a debilitating disease continually look for a way to ameliorate their pain and suffering. When the options for cure or successful recovery are bleak, the patient may ask for physician assisted suicide. It is a procedure done with the consent of the patient and the patient administers the lethal dose.
