Compare And Contrast Texas To Ohio State University
In my paper I will discuss the different staff, facilities, and programs that both of the universities have.
Both schools are great school, but each has very different Rec Sports and facilities. Just by looking at
the pictures from both facilities, I would say that they are really nice and up to date. So I will compare
and contrast Texas A M to Ohio State University.
The first university that I will talk about is Texas A M, who has over 12,000 students who participate
each year. They also have over 34 different programs that students can do for free. Intramural sports is
a big part of any university. Texas has over 12,000 students that participate in intramural sports. If you

W. E. B. Dubois During The Harlem Renaissance
African American people have endured many struggled throughout US history. According to the Trans
Atlantic Slave Trade Database, over ten million slaves were forcibly brought from Africa to the States.
Even after slavery was abolished, black people were not treated as full Americans. They did not
receive political or cultural equality, as white supremacist regimes continued to control society. Jim
Crow laws in the south made it politically clear that blacks were to be treated as lesser than their white
counterparts. Even though slavery was technically made illegal, many blacks continued to be
exploited as sharecroppers. Between 1910 1920, large numbers of black southerners migrated to
northern urban areas in The Great Migration in order to flee the oppressive institutionalized racism in
the south. Many African Americans settled in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Forming a community within the big city allowed African Americans keep their cultural identity in a
white dominated society. It was in this context that blacks aimed to bridge the gap between what
W.E.B DuBois coined as double consciousness, the battling identities of what it means to be black and
American. In this bridging, the Harlem Renaissance occurred. The Harlem Renaissance was a time
when the African American community asserted its place in US culture. The artistic community in
Harlem flourished and produced a lot of work in a short amount of time. They were encouraged to
take pride in themselves and their cultures and to shed light on the African American experience
through artistic expression. Writers like Langston Hughes, Zora Neal Hurston and Countee Cullen
drew on the rhythms of African American music and their experiences of alienation. Musicians such
as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Bessie Smith developed swing and jazz

Abstract: Because of high speed of vehicles, short contact durations and rapid changes in topology
occurs in Vehicular Delay Tolerant Network (VDTN). This will generates few transmission
opportunities and high and unpredictable delay. This problem can be solved by different routing
protocol of VDTN. The VDTN protocol can be divided as single copy and multi copy. In single copy
protocol the node is allowed to generate the unique copy of message and forward it on a unique path.
The multi copy protocols generate and transmit the multiple copies of each message and forward it
along various paths. If more number of copies spread in network there are more chances for successful
transmission. The objective of paper is to improve performance of VDTN by modifying existing
Spray and Wait protocol. In this paper we provide proposed algorithm for modify spray and wait
protocol for improving delivery probability with different number of message copy. The modifications
based on stored number of message copies at source/rely nodes and encountered nodes ratio.

Gender Discrimination in Emergency Medical Services Essay
Gender Discrimination in Emergency Medical Services
*No Works Cited The tones go off, there is a scramble for shirts, ties, and boots. Dispatch announces a
motor vehicle accident five blocks away. EMTs and Paramedics climb into ambulances. Police are
reporting multiple personal injuries. There is a rush of adrenaline through all those involved. The
street comes alive with flashing red and white lights and screaming sirens. Ambulances tear down the
street to the accident scene. They arrive to find four cars involved in a high speed collision. There are
seven people involved in this particular accident. Additional trucks are requested and the original
scene repeats itself as three more teams join the first two at the scene. ... Show more content on

They speculate about the condition of their patient, the other patients at the scene, and their co
workers. Things are beginning to return to the calmness that exists between calls.
Having been exposed to a typical accident scene that most emergency medical personnel are used to
working can be somewhat shocking. There are many questions, which arise after working a call like
that just described. The one I would like to focus on is what were the names of the EMTs and
Paramedics involved in the accident scene depicted? Jeff, Will, and John? Or could they possibly have
been Charlene, Lee, and Tracy?
Even in today s world of political correctness, there is still a very large gender bias when it comes to
certain things, such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The number of men in the field is much
higher than the number of women. Women, for the most part, are looked at as not being as capable of
performing what is required of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or a Paramedic as men are.
EMTs and Paramedics are required to make split second, possibly life saving decisions, lift large
amounts of weight, and work long hours in all conditions. Since most women are physically smaller
than most men are, they are viewed as not being strong enough to lift patients or equipment in many
situations.
A personal example that proves this point happened to

Theme Of Comradeship In Erich Maria Remarque s All Quiet...
All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque is a powerful war novel that presents the
theme of comradeship through war. The theme of comradeship embodies the idea that war has created
a bond between the soldiers that is unbreakable and that they are closer than family on the home front.
After Paul returns from his leave, he realizes that his fellow soldiers are the most comforting thing
there is anywhere (212). In this quote Paul encounters the idea that his comrades are closer to him than
his own life or family. His experiences in the war are shared by his fellow soldiers, these experiences
cannot be shared with his family, which shows how much closer Paul is with his comrades than his
family. An example that supports the theme

of taking the Afro American to trial and lynching them when charged with rape . They did it in hoped
of making it clear that whites were the dominant race and to draw fear towards the Afro Americans so
they wouldn t get involved with their Southern white ladies. It had a very double standard feel because
for Southern white men, they could have an affair with an Afro American woman and everything
would be okay. It wouldn t be viewed as rape. As well as a Southern white male could rape an African
American female, and they wouldn t get lynched. The white male would be set free with a slap on the

Richard Clarke Cyber Breach
Cyber Breach
Since 2005 a total 895,605,986 were breached and 4,745 DATA BREACHES have occurred.
According to the former national coordinator for security, infrastructure protection for the United
States, Richard Clarke, believes that companies can be put into two types those that have been
breached and know it and companies that have been and just don t know it yet. With so many cyber
breaches and personal data being released into the wrong hands has many companies wanting to strike
back on their own. While this idea may seem reasonable I believe that companies should have a cyber
strategy such as identifying assets, outline a plan of action, develop partnerships, and train their
employees.
Companies must first identify their asset and what it is they are wanting to protect. Each company has
a different set of standards they are wanting to protect. For example, retail operations, healthcare
facilities, and higher education institutions have a very different asset to protect than a manufacturing
company, energy, telecommunication center and financial institutions. ... Show more content on

many will use the following best practices to secure their company before a breach: only assigning

Most people are well aware of the fact that home warrantys cover their air conditioner. However,
many people who compare home warranty companies do not change their air filter. Changing your air
filter is one of the things you have to do in order to ensure that it functions at its peak. There are a
number of signs that you may notice if you need to change your air filter. Below is a list of signs that
you need to change your air filter: Very High Energy Bill A high energy bill is something that can
easily be overlooked. People often attribute an increasing energy bill to many things. However, an
increase in your energy bill may be caused by a clogged air filter. Your air conditioner filter has to

Your system will likely to shut down if it overheats. The air conditioner may also shut off and on
repeatedly, which will make it harder for you to keep your home cool. Frozen Evaporator Coil The
evaporator coils help keep your home cool by absorbing the heat. A clogged air filter restricts heat
flow. That is why your evaporator coil is likely to freeze up if the air filter is clogged. Why Changing
Your Filter Is Important There are a number of reasons that First American Warranty recommends
changing your air filter on a regular basis. A dirty filter can cause a lot of damage to your system.
Even though home warrantys cover your air conditioner, you should try to keep it as soon as possible.
It is also important to note that a dirty air filter affects the indoor air quality. If the air filter is dirty,
then this means pollen, dust, dust mites and other particles are circulating throughout the air. This can
have an adverse affect on your health. Additionally, if you already have health issues, then you are
even more likely to be affected by a dirty air

situation and the potential consequences of adverse attitudes and behaviour. The workshops available
for all ages, are set up to get people involved in the topic by talking about and debating the problems.
The workshop aimed at University teams is particularly important as it strives to educate, empower

Osteogenesis Imperfecta ( Oi ) Is An Inherited Disorder...
Science Biology Transcript
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI)
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is an inherited disorder characterized by extreme fragility of the bones
also known as brittle bone disease .
Clinical Features
The symptoms of OI include malformed bones, short, small body, loose joints, muscle weakness,
sclera (whites of the eyes) look purple, grey or blue, triangular face, barrel shaped rib cage, curved
spine, brittle teeth, breathing problems and a collagen deficiency.
Classification
There are many ways to classify OI. The most accurate methods are the following.
In some cases, an ultrasound can identify bone abnormalities at 14 18 weeks. Cells obtained through
chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis can also be analysed for a genetic mutation. Amount of
collagen can be tested through a skin sample and genes can be tested through a blood sample and X
rays to check for bone abnormalities such as the symptoms explained earlier can be used to diagnose.
Radiographic Features
The hallmark feature of Osteogenesis Imperfecta is fragile bones that fracture easily. Osteogenesis
Imperfecta affects both bone quality and quantity (i.e. bone mass).
History
We do not know for certain about when OI started. Perhaps when sin entered the world but we do
know that it has been around for a long time as you can see in these pictures.

Child Sexual Abuse Essay
Child Sexual Abuse
Sexual abuse to a child at times is confusing to the family. Families who are affected by sexual abuse
to a child tend to have a difficult time talking about the abuse. About one out of every four girls and
one out of every five boys are sexually abused by the time they are 18 years old. Sexual abuse to
children happens across every socioeconomic status, ethnic, cultural, religion and education. Getting
treatment for a victim of child sexual abuse is a difficult process because of the lack of trust by the
child. When child sexual abuse occurs the victim s family has a difficult time talking about the abuse,
which leads to the family pretending the abuse never happened. Once the family ... Show more

Children are the most vulnerable to sexual abuse, and there are risk factors to consider that would
make one child more of a target compared to another child. The three risk factors that are related to
sexual abuse are: 1) the age of the child, 2) socioeconomic status and 3) how well the child knows
his/her abuser. Child abuse is reported about 80,000 times per year, but the most alarming fact is how
many reports of child abuse goes unreported due to the child being afraid to talk about the sexual
abuse, and they do not want to get their offender in trouble. Children between the ages of three to five
years old are considered to be the most vulnerable to be a victim of sexual abuse. Children need to
have supervision at all times, especially during times like changing clothes and bathing. If
unsupervised, this can open the door for sexual abuse by the relatives, babysitters, etc. The second risk
factor is the socioeconomic status; the offender will notice the child isn t getting any attention from
the family and will manipulate the situation with the child. The perpetrator will offer to buy the child
things that the family can t buy for the child, listening to the child s problems and gain their trust. The
level of education plays a role, if the child is raised by a single parent and/or if the parents have
marital problems. Once trust is established this is when the perpetrator will sexually abuse a child.

The Causes Of The Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis In the fall of 1962, the world sat on edge for thirteen days as the prospect of
a nuclear war between the United States and The Soviet Union became more and more legitimate. In
October of 1962, an American spy plane discovered nuclear missile launch sites being built by the
Soviet Union in Cuba, which rests only ninety miles south of Florida. The US went on to impose a
naval blockade of Cuba, making sure that no more nuclear weapons were imported into Havana
(Lebow 2000). President John F. Kennedy was tasked with the duty to remove the nuclear missiles
from Cuba while preventing a catastrophic and deadly nuclear war. Nikita Khrushchev, the leader of
the Soviet Union, longed to be seen as the powerful and authoritative figure that would be able bring
the Soviet Union to equal levels of political, military, and social prominence as the United States.
Ultimately, Khrushchev sought to maintain his political and military power and influence, and not
backing down from the all powerful United States and John F. Kennedy demonstrated to his
colleagues that he meant business. Similarly, President Kennedy was seeking re election in November
of 1962, only a month after the rising tensions. In order to be re elected, Kennedy recognized his need
to make up for the failures of the Bay of Pigs and the Vienna Summit and Kennedy became eager to
improve his current poor reputation and show the world, and more importantly US voters, his strong
willed resolve. (Lebow

Juvenile Delinquency Is Not Acceptable
Juvenile delinquency is when minors commit criminal acts or offenses that are against the law and in
which adult prosecution is not acceptable. It is interesting to note that this was not always the case.
Before juvenile delinquency was established, juveniles were trialed and treated as adults. There was
no such thing as a juvenile court, juvenile correctional facilities, or juvenile support groups, when the
juvenile deviated. Later, many believed that when juveniles deviated that it meant that they needed
guidance and support to help them. This change was made mainly because the value of children
increased due to the fact that children were beginning to live longer and were healthier. Throughout
the semester it has been intriguing to learn more about this topic and learn different theories related to
it, as well as delinquency triggers. There are four theories that relate to juvenile delinquency. Strain
Theory is when the juvenile experiences strain, or stress, which as a result causes them to commit
delinquent acts. Strain can be caused by the juvenile failing to achieve goals, and/or the loss of
positive stimuli or the presentation of negative stimuli. Social Learning Theory is when juveniles learn
to engage in delinquent acts by being reinforced, positively or negatively, in some way. Control
Theory is when the juvenile varies with the levels of control, which causes them to commit delinquent
acts. Labeling Theory is when juveniles are labeled as bad or delinquent ,

of the research in this area approached identity as a categorical variable at the nominal level of
measurement (Lounsbury et al., 2005, p. 502). Secondly they identified that in prior research GPA was
not measured and evaluated on its impact on student s sense of identity. There were four separate
research questions identified in this investigation that were the central focus. The first question looked
to determine if a positive relationship existed between GPA and sense of identity. The second question
asked if the relationship between GPA and sense of identity was the same for males and females. The
third question looked at if the

Charles Perrault’s Cinderella
In Cinderella by Charles Perrault, the story depicts an imaginative fairytale through the hardships of a
mistreated daughter and the magic of a fairy; in essence, Cinderella demonstrates that focusing on
materialism is more important and more effective other than working up the path to majesty.
Cinderella is a character who is often mistreated by her stepmother and god sisters. Bearing unsuitable
personalities, they treat her harshly, leaving all of the chores to her. However, she admits that her
tattered clothes are not worthy of a formal event, and continues to be belittled by her stepsisters.
Portrayed with low self esteem and insecurity, she does not respond harshly to their cruel insults. As a
result, the main character relies on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, her true beauty lies within her skin, as Perrault s interprets Cinderella as a hundred times
more handsome than her sisters . He aims to focus more on female recognition and self fulfillment,
rather than provide a base for all readers to understand fully (Hühn). At an elementary level, this may
not influence children to an extent, but other stories that reproduce this same structure of plot elements
could possibly influence children in the future. For instance, she was not the hero of the story. The
Prince isn t the hero until he discovers her lost possession, a glass slipper, and searched for the person
that fits. As told by Perrault, he had done nothing but look at her all the time, and that most certainly
he was very much in love with the beautiful owner of the glass slipper. This enforces the fact that her
beauty prevails over her actual personality but not behavior, and the appearance and mannerisms
surely impressed the Prince. The Prince stereotypes the role of women being in need of a destined
lover. He is the one that identifies Cinderella as the one in the dress, though excluding behavior, her
appearance dazzles him for two nights at the ball. Most importantly, he s not the hero of the fairytale,
but readers can interpret the fairy godmother as the savior of Cinderella s demise. The role of magic
comes in part with the acceptance of achieving the imagery of an elegant woman, impressing the
Prince who gains interest in her. The

A Day to Remember
I can still remember it like it was yesterday. It all started at about 2 p.m. It was the time I went back
from school on foot. I was so tried and all I wanted was to just relax and eat. When I arrived at the
front gate, I was shocked. The gate and the door were opened. It was because at that time there was
nobody in my house as all my family members were not at home I was frightened and did not know
what I should do. Should I go inside or call the police? I was hesitant because my family went out for
work and they would normally tell me if they took afternoon off. However, I decided to see what was
happening. I picked up a hard stick so that if something happened, I could protect myself. Then, I

From the quarrel, I found that Dad was dismissed last week due to economic downturn and he

earned a lucrative salary every month, this amount of money would be insufficient because of various
types of bills and fees which became the main cause of their quarrel. Brainstorming, rushing in my
mind was the thought of whether I should give up the tuitions and my favourite piano lesson to cut
down the family expenditures? I knew I had the responsibilities to do it. I came out and approached
them slowly.
Dad......mum...... I said that with the tone of depressed with a cautious. Oh, why were you standing

Don t worry about it, Jason. Dad said smilingly. I knew that my dad was only consoleding me, as he

Assess functionalist and the New Right views on the family
Functionalists believe that the family have specific or traditional functions within the family. One
function of the family would be reproduction or having children as this is imperative for the world as
they will be the future workforce. For example family businesses will need to pass down the
factories/shops to the next generation in the family for the continuing of the ancestors business. Other
functions include economic maintenance this is where the family provides necessities for all the
family members for example shelter, food and clothing. Another is that the family helps teach children
how to socialise with others and also educate them with the correct norms. An ... Show more content

Halsey and Dennis who agrees with what Murray argues saying that single parenthood and absent
fathers is one of the key issues with the decrease in nuclear family lives. Due to the lack of jobs and
rise in unemployment men are starting to struggle to maintain their title of bread winners and the
industries are changing from heavy workloads so women are more likely to find a job in modern
times. As a result men may be reject by the women as they can t financially depend on them so would
rather be given benefits than struggle to keep a roof over them and their children s heads. Halsey
debates that being in a one parent family with the factors of unemployment and poverty being high
could inevitably lead to crime and vandalism by the younger members of the family. Against a nuclear
family with a stable income and stable household would again lead to any crimes and vandalism by
the offspring in the family.
Abbott and Wallace s critically judge the new right about how women are being exploited in the
families and how a lot of frustration and unhappiness is able to be experienced by living in this
environment. The new right also disagrees to acknowledge the violence that can be cause in a nuclear
family life and the abuse a family can actually suffer from being forced to stay and live with them as it
isn t socially acceptable to be a one parent family. Some of the ideas that Abbott and Wallace criticised
are that the new right are opposed to

Abstract
DL 2 hydroxy 4(methylthio)butanoic acid (DL HMTBA) exhibits a higher antioxidant capability in
vitro as compared to DL methionine, but the mechanism is not known. A total of 400 8 d old broilers
were allotted to a 2 [Low (14 16℃) or control temperature] × 2 (0.17% or 0.51% DL HMTBA)
factorial arrangement to investigate effects of DL HMTBA on the gene expression related to oxidative
stress in low temperature. The hepatic glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and
glutathione peroxidase (GSH Px) activities were decreased, while protein carbonyl and
malodndialdehyde content in lung were increased in low temperature (P10 fold decrease in CβS
protein levels. Therefore, it indicated that DL HMTBA supplementation may increase MAT 1A and
CβS gene expression, to enhance Met trans sulfuration to GSH, then to increase antioxidant capacity
of broilers exposed to low ambient temperature (39). Further work is needed to determine whether the

because depending on how we were raised that s all we know. Most of us as kids were told that we
must respect and obey in order to gain trust. Trust is another vital part of prosocial behavior among
humans page 318 For example, I conform and obey because I was raised with the principles that we
must respect others and elders if we want the same type of respect back. Some people on the other
hand might conform because of social norms. People conform to the behavior of others more, and in

Explain What Occurred During The Scientific Revolution
What occurred during the scientific revolution? The scientific revolution was a period of time when
people started doubting the church. The scientific revolution modernizes the ways of thinking
dramatically. Nicolaus Copernicus made numerous discoveries about the universe; one of his
discoveries was the heliocentric theory which contradicts the church. Galileo confirming the
heliocentric theory brought him into conflict with the church. The scientific revolution modernizes the
ways of thinking dramatically.
Nicolaus Copernicus was an astronomer who arose the Heliocentric Theory which caused the
scientific revolution. Copernicus discoveries were very important, and impacted science to this day.
Copernicus constructed his data from his astronomical observations of sun centered cosmology. The
Heliocentric theory is the belief that the sun is in the center of the universe and all the planets revolve
around it. The Heliocentric Theory contradicts The Geocentric. Copernicus s heliocentric solar system
named the sun, rather than the earth, as the center of the solar system . (http://www.biography.com/).
Copernicus came up with another theory. The theory was that the center of gravity is the earth, and the
earth is the center of the moon s orbit. Copernicus theory was that planets revolve around the sun.

Lady Macbeth Feminism Essay
Feminist issues have always been controversial throughout history and gender topics remain debatable
matters in the context of the democratic society of the 21st Century. Over and over again these
representations are revisited, seeing just how many degrading representations the modern day woman
can overcome before finally adopting these stereotypes as the norm in her everyday life. It is almost
like a game to see how many obstacles women can overcome; each obstacle yet another generalised
representation of women in literature and film. Shakespeare exampled this through the classic, 1606
play, Macbeth, as did director Sam Mendes in one of the iconic James Bond films, 2012, Skyfall.
Through classic pieces of literature and modern day film, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ironically, this is perceived through the exaggerated emotive language of having them replaced by a
direst cruelty . Lady Macbeth pleads, make thick my blood, stop up the passage to remorse ,
conveying that if her blood was made thicker the blood flow throughout her body would slow down
and natural human functions would shut down. Metaphorically she wants the flow of remorse and pity
to be cut off, and to be unhuman. Furthermore, she pleads that her breast milk is turned to bile. A
woman s breasts have the natural function to feed, and is a source of life for a growing baby, while
bile is a bitter, foul green coloured substance made in the liver which provides no nourishment.
Allegorically, this links back to Lady Macbeth s reversal of nature and challenge of gender
expectations. Shakespeare cleverly weaves this allegory through the play to symbolise a warning to
Lady Macbeth and or women of the 17th century, for what will happen if they rebel and challenge
societal expectations. Consequently, Macbeth gains in murderous masculinity, ordering killing after
killing, while Lady Macbeth lapses back into the feminine helplessness she had earlier rejected.
Madness, curiously, forces her back into the stereotypical femininity that

The Book Of Mormon Essay
Origin:
In 1823 a man from New York named Joseph Smith was visited by an angel called Moroni. Moroni
was assumed to be the son of Mormon and told Joseph to go find the golden plates that were buried
somewhere near where he lived. Four years later in 1827, Joseph Smith finally found the sacred plates
and when he did Moroni told him that he needed to start to translate them. It took Joseph three years to
transcribe the plates and when he finished he named the book, The Book of Mormon. In this book it
tells us what happened during the period of 600 B.C. to around 400 A.D., and how the Jews came to
America after they left Jerusalem. After the Jews arrived at America they separated into two different
groups, the Nephites and the Lamanites. The Nephites and the Lamanites fought each other and in 428
A.D. the Lamanites won. After the Nephites were defeated the Lamanites continued to stay in America
and we know them today as American Indians. The Book of Mormon however, does not focus on the

Essay on Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States, was born on March 15, 1767 in Waxhaw
on the North Carolina South Carolina border. He is a controversial man who greatly impacted our
country both during his presidency and long term. His actions may have been questioned at the time,
as some still are today, but his strong willed chauvinism in democracy is just what our country needed
to hold itself together. Jackson did not have a typical family setting growing up. His father passed
away before his birth, leaving his mother the single parent of three young boys. To help lighten the
burden of raising young children on her own, his mother moved in with her Crawford relatives. There
Jackson attended school, attaining an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

lovers. Despite the accusations Jackson received concerning his questionable adulterous acts, they did
not affect his impressive rise in Tennessee politics. In 1795 he was delegated to the state constitutional
convention and later Tennessee s first congressman and then senator. After his first year as senator,
Jackson resigned to accept a job closer to home, judge of Tennessee s superior court. Along his
political ride, Jackson held his share of outrageous quarrels. A hothead himself, Jackson was no
foreigner to fights, brawls, or duels. Of these numerous encounters, the most infamous began over a
simple misunderstanding with Charles Dickinson over a horse race in 1806. This rift ended in a duel
between the two men. Dickinson, a marksman, fired the first shot and struck Jackson in the chest.
Despite the wound, Jackson showed no sign of pain and instead aimed precisely and fatally shot
Dickinson (Stone 264). It was encounters such as this that marked him as a violent and dangerous
man, and helped block his further political advance ( Miller Center ). After his time in politics,
Jackson craved service in the military. With probable enemies enclosing

Identity In Hamlet
In the plays that we have covered throughout the semester, Shakespeare continuously adds layers of
complexity to the events, dialogue, and characteristics of the main characters. In doing so,
Shakespeare is able to create a presentation of reality as a more subjective interpretation rather than an
objective truth. Additionally, this complexity is extremely prevalent in the characterization of the main
characters, in which he intimates the multiplicity of human nature. Although the genres range from the
history plays of Richard II and Henry V to the revenge tragedy of Hamlet, there are numerous themes
that arise within all of these works that aid in the understanding of human nature and identity. Overall,
the idea of identity is explored as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, in Hamlet, when his father was murdered, Hamlet presented himself in a sane manner.
Yet, only when the Ghost of Hamlet told him to revenge his foul and most unnatural murder, did
Hamlet begin to create the appearance of being mad (Hamlet, Act. 1.5, 26). Hamlet continues to
portray this intense mourning for his father s death and becomes consumed with revenge to the point
of questioning the reality of these feelings. In Act 2.2, Hamlet begins a rant about the actors abilities
to, in a fiction, in a dream of passion, portray intense feelings that were not real but quickly reverts to
questioning the reality of his own feelings. This is representative of temporality associated with
identity, which is prominent throughout the

The Influence Of Music On The Music Of America

amount of people in the music industry today a musician who has a different sound than anybody else
will definitely turn a few heads. Some make it bigger than others, but the music tends to hold a
particular sound, especially if the singer uses their roots as an influence in the music. One such

Gloria Play Analysis
The play that was chosen to be adapted to film was, Gloria. Gloria , is written by Branden Jacobs
Jenkins. The play was first performed in the theater on May 28, 2015 and has only remained on the
stage. Gloria , is definitely a cinematic piece of work, which means it has qualities that will adapt well
into a film. What qualities in the play make it cinematic? First, the dialogue in the play will certainly
adapt well when creating a film. The structure of the play is another cinematic quality as well as the
jump cuts throughout the course of the performance. Gloria , is a two act play. When adapting this
play to film, one important aspect is the different shots that are being filmed. Whose face do you want
showing? What angle is the camera? Do you want the character being filmed to look superior or
weak? Also, how the locations are going to come into play for the making of the film. The climactic
scene is when Gloria opens fire in the office and kills almost everyone including herself. This scene is
at the end of Act 1 on pages mid 29 30. I would choose for the killing scene to not be shown but
mainly heard. Running and reactions are the only parts of people that I want seen in the film. In the

Timeline and Significance of the Louisiana Purchase
The Louisiana Purchase, including the Mississippi river and west, was purchased by the United States
in 1803. The U.S. paid around four cents an acre, making the exchange the biggest land acquisition in

Jefferson s need for the Port of New Orleans and ultimately the acquisition of over 800,000 square

Dec Management Style
Management Style Paper
Introduction:
Management of an athletics department is extremely tricky. One must balance different sports, while
keeping in mind the importance of certain sports and the importance of others. One must keep focus
throughout the programs in general. Not only the function of the facilities, but of the people who
maintain them and our student athletes. Along with the general descriptions, one must steady the
academic function and NCAA guidelines, keeping the program in equilibrium. In referencing Scehin,
caution must be used to set your eyes on one style. The DEC management style, where in the sense
that winning is the ultimate objective of your battle, and yelling your point across is the best way of
doing this, is not the best style. The Ciba Geigy style is excellent in communication with lateral
movement, however the lateral parts must integrate and perform as one singular unit. However, the
hierarchy of family structure is interesting. The subordinates must feel the compassion and
understanding of a family structure, but also must recognize the hierarchy of the chain of the
command. To call an athletics department a democracy would be a bit much. However, to have a
council and discussion then to make a decision based on the collective benefits of all is the way my
athletics department would be.
Staff:
Staff would be handled by supervisors and if problems arose in which the supervisors were held
powerless or in a situation, then I would step in. If

Clarence s Speech in William Shakespeare s Richard III Essay
Clarence s Speech in William Shakespeare s Richard III
The speech I am going to be examining is from one of Shakespeare s plays, Richard III. It is the part
of the play where George, Duke of Clarence is explaining a prophetic nightmare he had whilst being
locked in the Tower of London.
Richard III was a real king of England, but had been killed in battle, around 100 years prior to when
Shakespeare wrote this play. At the time of writing, in 1594, the queen was Elizabeth I, a Tudor. One
of the Queens ancestors, Henry VII, had killed Richard III on Bosworth Field. Shakespeare, to make
sure he was in favour with the Queen, made Richard s character into a complete villain, as well as

This helps to build up drama and create a vivid picture in the minds of those watching the plays. This
was especially important in the Elizabethan times, as stages had limited scenery and special effects.
The beginning of Clarence s speech is full of warnings and phrases that suggest death. He begins his
speech telling Brackenbury that, in his dream, he thought he had broken from the Tower and was on a
ship to Burgundy with Richard. He says Richard tempted him to walk over the deck. The word
tempted is a word often used when talking of the devil as the devil tries to lure people into sin. When
Clarence uses this word to describe Richard s actions, it is like if Richard is being described as devil
like.
He then says that he and Richard looked towards England, and recalled a thousand heavy times,
during the wars of York and Lancaster, that had befallen us. A thousand is an exaggeration, but it
shows that Clarence is being warned of more bad things to come. This sets the mood of the speech. It
is full of warnings and sentences suggesting bad times.
Clarence says Methought that Gloucester stumbled, and in falling, struck me . This is a forewarning
that Richard is going to cause Clarence to suffer in the future. When Clarence says methought it shows
that he is a bit doubtful as to whether it was an accident or not. He thinks that it was an accident when

  • 3. W. E. B. Dubois During The Harlem Renaissance African American people have endured many struggled throughout US history. According to the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade Database, over ten million slaves were forcibly brought from Africa to the States. Even after slavery was abolished, black people were not treated as full Americans. They did not receive political or cultural equality, as white supremacist regimes continued to control society. Jim Crow laws in the south made it politically clear that blacks were to be treated as lesser than their white counterparts. Even though slavery was technically made illegal, many blacks continued to be exploited as sharecroppers. Between 1910 1920, large numbers of black southerners migrated to northern urban areas in The Great Migration in order to flee the oppressive institutionalized racism in the south. Many African Americans settled in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Forming a community within the big city allowed African Americans keep their cultural identity in a white dominated society. It was in this context that blacks aimed to bridge the gap between what W.E.B DuBois coined as double consciousness, the battling identities of what it means to be black and American. In this bridging, the Harlem Renaissance occurred. The Harlem Renaissance was a time when the African American community asserted its place in US culture. The artistic community in Harlem flourished and produced a lot of work in a short amount of time. They were encouraged to take pride in themselves and their cultures and to shed light on the African American experience through artistic expression. Writers like Langston Hughes, Zora Neal Hurston and Countee Cullen drew on the rhythms of African American music and their experiences of alienation. Musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Bessie Smith developed swing and jazz ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This will generates few transmission opportunities and high and unpredictable delay. This problem can be solved by different routing protocol of VDTN. The VDTN protocol can be divided as single copy and multi copy. In single copy protocol the node is allowed to generate the unique copy of message and forward it on a unique path. The multi copy protocols generate and transmit the multiple copies of each message and forward it along various paths. If more number of copies spread in network there are more chances for successful transmission. The objective of paper is to improve performance of VDTN by modifying existing Spray and Wait protocol. In this paper we provide proposed algorithm for modify spray and wait protocol for improving delivery probability with different number of message copy. The modifications based on stored number of message copies at source/rely nodes and encountered nodes ratio. I. INTRODUCTION ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dispatch announces a motor vehicle accident five blocks away. EMTs and Paramedics climb into ambulances. Police are reporting multiple personal injuries. There is a rush of adrenaline through all those involved. The street comes alive with flashing red and white lights and screaming sirens. Ambulances tear down the street to the accident scene. They speculate about the condition of their patient, the other patients at the scene, and their co workers. Things are beginning to return to the calmness that exists between calls. Having been exposed to a typical accident scene that most emergency medical personnel are used to working can be somewhat shocking. There are many questions, which arise after working a call like that just described. The one I would like to focus on is what were the names of the EMTs and Paramedics involved in the accident scene depicted? Jeff, Will, and John? Or could they possibly have been Charlene, Lee, and Tracy? Even in today s world of political correctness, there is still a very large gender bias when it comes to certain things, such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The number of men in the field is much higher than the number of women. Women, for the most part, are looked at as not being as capable of performing what is required of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or a Paramedic as men are. EMTs and Paramedics are required to make split second, possibly life saving decisions, lift large amounts of weight, and work long hours in all conditions. Since most women are physically smaller than most men are, they are viewed as not being strong enough to lift patients or equipment in many situations. A personal example that proves this point happened to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cells obtained through chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis can also be analysed for a genetic mutation. Amount of collagen can be tested through a skin sample and genes can be tested through a blood sample and X rays to check for bone abnormalities such as the symptoms explained earlier can be used to diagnose. The three risk factors that are related to sexual abuse are: 1) the age of the child, 2) socioeconomic status and 3) how well the child knows his/her abuser. Child abuse is reported about 80,000 times per year, but the most alarming fact is how many reports of child abuse goes unreported due to the child being afraid to talk about the sexual abuse, and they do not want to get their offender in trouble. • 20. Juvenile Delinquency Is Not Acceptable Juvenile delinquency is when minors commit criminal acts or offenses that are against the law and in which adult prosecution is not acceptable. It is interesting to note that this was not always the case. Before juvenile delinquency was established, juveniles were trialed and treated as adults. There was no such thing as a juvenile court, juvenile correctional facilities, or juvenile support groups, when the juvenile deviated. Later, many believed that when juveniles deviated that it meant that they needed guidance and support to help them. This change was made mainly because the value of children increased due to the fact that children were beginning to live longer and were healthier. Throughout the semester it has been intriguing to learn more about this topic and learn different theories related to it, as well as delinquency triggers. There are four theories that relate to juvenile delinquency. Strain Theory is when the juvenile experiences strain, or stress, which as a result causes them to commit delinquent acts. Strain can be caused by the juvenile failing to achieve goals, and/or the loss of positive stimuli or the presentation of negative stimuli. Social Learning Theory is when juveniles learn to engage in delinquent acts by being reinforced, positively or negatively, in some way. Control Theory is when the juvenile varies with the levels of control, which causes them to commit delinquent acts. Labeling Theory is when juveniles are labeled as bad or delinquent , ... The subject of this investigation was 434 second semester freshman students enrolled in an introductory psychology course. The focus of the investigation was to determine if an individual s sense of identity could be interpreted as a difference variable (Lounsbury, et. al., 2005, p. 501) that could be measured within a range of low to high. The author s identified that up until this point much of the research in this area approached identity as a categorical variable at the nominal level of measurement (Lounsbury et al., 2005, p. 502). Secondly they identified that in prior research GPA was not measured and evaluated on its impact on student s sense of identity. There were four separate research questions identified in this investigation that were the central focus. Charles Perrault’s Cinderella In Cinderella by Charles Perrault, the story depicts an imaginative fairytale through the hardships of a mistreated daughter and the magic of a fairy; in essence, Cinderella demonstrates that focusing on materialism is more important and more effective other than working up the path to majesty. Cinderella is a character who is often mistreated by her stepmother and god sisters. Bearing unsuitable personalities, they treat her harshly, leaving all of the chores to her. He aims to focus more on female recognition and self fulfillment, rather than provide a base for all readers to understand fully (Hühn). At an elementary level, this may not influence children to an extent, but other stories that reproduce this same structure of plot elements could possibly influence children in the future. For instance, she was not the hero of the story. The Prince isn t the hero until he discovers her lost possession, a glass slipper, and searched for the person that fits. As told by Perrault, he had done nothing but look at her all the time, and that most certainly he was very much in love with the beautiful owner of the glass slipper. This enforces the fact that her beauty prevails over her actual personality but not behavior, and the appearance and mannerisms surely impressed the Prince. The Prince stereotypes the role of women being in need of a destined lover. He is the one that identifies Cinderella as the one in the dress, though excluding behavior, her appearance dazzles him for two nights at the ball. Most importantly, he s not the hero of the fairytale, but readers can interpret the fairy godmother as the savior of Cinderella s demise. The role of magic comes in part with the acceptance of achieving the imagery of an elegant woman, impressing the Prince who gains interest in her. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Essay on Andrew Jackson Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States, was born on March 15, 1767 in Waxhaw on the North Carolina South Carolina border. He is a controversial man who greatly impacted our country both during his presidency and long term. His actions may have been questioned at the time, as some still are today, but his strong willed chauvinism in democracy is just what our country needed to hold itself together. Jackson did not have a typical family setting growing up. His father passed away before his birth, leaving his mother the single parent of three young boys. To help lighten the burden of raising young children on her own, his mother moved in with her Crawford relatives. There Jackson attended school, attaining an ... The promiscuity of their affair later hindered Jackson s political career (Anderson et al. 207). However, at the time, Nashville didn t see anything wrong with the relationship between these two deeply devoted lovers. Despite the accusations Jackson received concerning his questionable adulterous acts, they did not affect his impressive rise in Tennessee politics. In 1795 he was delegated to the state constitutional convention and later Tennessee s first congressman and then senator. After his first year as senator, Jackson resigned to accept a job closer to home, judge of Tennessee s superior court. Along his political ride, Jackson held his share of outrageous quarrels. A hothead himself, Jackson was no foreigner to fights, brawls, or duels. Of these numerous encounters, the most infamous began over a simple misunderstanding with Charles Dickinson over a horse race in 1806. This rift ended in a duel between the two men. Dickinson, a marksman, fired the first shot and struck Jackson in the chest. Despite the wound, Jackson showed no sign of pain and instead aimed precisely and fatally shot Dickinson (Stone 264). It was encounters such as this that marked him as a violent and dangerous man, and helped block his further political advance ( Miller Center ). After his time in politics, Jackson craved service in the military. With probable enemies enclosing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Identity In Hamlet In the plays that we have covered throughout the semester, Shakespeare continuously adds layers of complexity to the events, dialogue, and characteristics of the main characters. In doing so, Shakespeare is able to create a presentation of reality as a more subjective interpretation rather than an objective truth. Additionally, this complexity is extremely prevalent in the characterization of the main characters, in which he intimates the multiplicity of human nature. Although the genres range from the history plays of Richard II and Henry V to the revenge tragedy of Hamlet, there are numerous themes that arise within all of these works that aid in the understanding of human nature and identity. Overall, the idea of identity is explored as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, in Hamlet, when his father was murdered, Hamlet presented himself in a sane manner. Yet, only when the Ghost of Hamlet told him to revenge his foul and most unnatural murder, did Hamlet begin to create the appearance of being mad (Hamlet, Act. 1.5, 26). Hamlet continues to portray this intense mourning for his father s death and becomes consumed with revenge to the point of questioning the reality of these feelings. In Act 2.2, Hamlet begins a rant about the actors abilities to, in a fiction, in a dream of passion, portray intense feelings that were not real but quickly reverts to questioning the reality of his own feelings. This is representative of temporality associated with identity, which is prominent throughout the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Gloria Play Analysis The play that was chosen to be adapted to film was, Gloria. Gloria , is written by Branden Jacobs Jenkins. The play was first performed in the theater on May 28, 2015 and has only remained on the stage. Gloria , is definitely a cinematic piece of work, which means it has qualities that will adapt well into a film. What qualities in the play make it cinematic? First, the dialogue in the play will certainly adapt well when creating a film. The structure of the play is another cinematic quality as well as the jump cuts throughout the course of the performance. Gloria , is a two act play. When adapting this play to film, one important aspect is the different shots that are being filmed. Whose face do you want showing? What angle is the camera? Do you want the character being filmed to look superior or weak? Also, how the locations are going to come into play for the making of the film. The climactic scene is when Gloria opens fire in the office and kills almost everyone including herself. This scene is at the end of Act 1 on pages mid 29 30. I would choose for the killing scene to not be shown but mainly heard. Running and reactions are the only parts of people that I want seen in the film. In the play, there ... Dean is a nice business man but can also be rude and two faced, like when he talks about Gloria s party behind her back right before he told her how nice it was. To play Dean s character I would choose, Lucas Till who starred in, The Hannah Montana Movie. I chose Lucas because he is now in his late 20 s but also attractive and I think he could play the part very well, especially with his quirky smile. For the character of Devin, Dean s look alike, I would choose Jeremy Irvine from, War Horse. Jeremy does not have blonde hair like Lucas but for the film it could be ... • 35. Dec Management Style Management Style Paper Introduction: Management of an athletics department is extremely tricky. One must balance different sports, while keeping in mind the importance of certain sports and the importance of others. One must keep focus throughout the programs in general. Not only the function of the facilities, but of the people who maintain them and our student athletes. Along with the general descriptions, one must steady the academic function and NCAA guidelines, keeping the program in equilibrium. In referencing Scehin, caution must be used to set your eyes on one style. The DEC management style, where in the sense that winning is the ultimate objective of your battle, and yelling your point across is the best way of doing this, is not the best style. The Ciba Geigy style is excellent in communication with lateral movement, however the lateral parts must integrate and perform as one singular unit. However, the hierarchy of family structure is interesting. The subordinates must feel the compassion and understanding of a family structure, but also must recognize the hierarchy of the chain of the command. To call an athletics department a democracy would be a bit much. However, to have a council and discussion then to make a decision based on the collective benefits of all is the way my athletics department would be. Staff: Staff would be handled by supervisors and if problems arose in which the supervisors were held powerless or in a situation, then I would step in. If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Clarence s Speech in William Shakespeare s Richard III Essay Clarence s Speech in William Shakespeare s Richard III The speech I am going to be examining is from one of Shakespeare s plays, Richard III. It is the part of the play where George, Duke of Clarence is explaining a prophetic nightmare he had whilst being locked in the Tower of London. Richard III was a real king of England, but had been killed in battle, around 100 years prior to when Shakespeare wrote this play. At the time of writing, in 1594, the queen was Elizabeth I, a Tudor. One of the Queens ancestors, Henry VII, had killed Richard III on Bosworth Field. Shakespeare, to make sure he was in favour with the Queen, made Richard s character into a complete villain, as well as physically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This helps to build up drama and create a vivid picture in the minds of those watching the plays. This was especially important in the Elizabethan times, as stages had limited scenery and special effects. The beginning of Clarence s speech is full of warnings and phrases that suggest death. He begins his speech telling Brackenbury that, in his dream, he thought he had broken from the Tower and was on a ship to Burgundy with Richard. He says Richard tempted him to walk over the deck. The word tempted is a word often used when talking of the devil as the devil tries to lure people into sin. When Clarence uses this word to describe Richard s actions, it is like if Richard is being described as devil like. He then says that he and Richard looked towards England, and recalled a thousand heavy times, during the wars of York and Lancaster, that had befallen us. A thousand is an exaggeration, but it shows that Clarence is being warned of more bad things to come. This sets the mood of the speech. It is full of warnings and sentences suggesting bad times. Clarence says Methought that Gloucester stumbled, and in falling, struck me . This is a forewarning that Richard is going to cause Clarence to suffer in the future. When Clarence says methought it shows that he is a bit doubtful as to whether it was an accident or not. He thinks that it was an accident when he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
