Qualitative And Quantitative And Qualitative Methodologies
involves a bigger sample size and to confirm an inferred hypothesis. Hence, it is important to have the
balance of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies in a combined methodologies research
study. It is interesting to note that, one clear practical issue in combining both methods is the issue
whether the combined methodologies are genuinely integrated (Bryman, 2007). Bryman further
argued, to what extent do researchers who combined both methodologies analyse, interpret and write
up their research in a way that both qualitative and quantitative components are mutually integrated.
Moreover, when combining both methods often led to the issue of each qualitative and quantitative
method are treated as separate domains instead of being treated as one method. Bryman (2007) further
extent the issue of not genuinely integrated to the fact that, combined methods may lead to
underutilising the data collected. Not being able to integrate both methods would then make any
researcher not being able to make most of the data that have been collected. Additionally, this is
supported by Borkan (2011), where he suggested that different audiences, reviewers and journals for
qualitative and quantitative methods would cause researcher to produce result in equal ways of
reporting it and thus affect the capacity of not making most of the data collected. The study of health

Initial Diagnosis And Treatment Plan Process
Initial Diagnosis and Treatment Plan Process
Listening to a client during an initial session and applying reflective listening techniques
can put you in the mindfulness moment with the client. By being a mindful listener as a therapist,
I believe it helps with being able to diagnose your client more accurate. It is important to have a
system or flow of questions during your intake process, so it can provide the clinician with viable
information regarding that client and their concerns, from there you can create a specific treatment
plan. Without a client rapport, it is difficult to effectively counsel someone because people don t
like to listen or talk to other people they don t trust, therefore, building a rapport with your client
is important. Not only is building a rapport important for a counselor, but we must rely on our
interviewing skills to obtain valuable information. From intake to completion of treatment, the
intake interview is typically when the treatment association begins between the client and the
counselor. At the same time during the intake process, there is a large amount of personal data
that can be collected thru a general checklist of question including symptoms that can help with
diagnosing the client. When initial meeting between the client and counselor one can start off with
the two basic greeting questions:
1. How are you feeling today?
2. What brings you in today?

Essay about The Lovely Bones Movie vs Book
Peter Jackson s 2009 film, The Lovely Bones, is based off of the New York Times bestseller novel
written by Alice Sebold. Both the book and the movie adaptation tell the story of a young, 14 year old
girl named Susie Salmon who is brutally murdered by her neighbor. In both versions, Susie narrates
her story from the place between Heaven and Earth, the in between, showing the lives of her family
and friends and how each of their lives have changed since her murder. However, the film adaptation
and the original novel differ in the sense of the main character focalization throughout, the graphic
explanatory to visual extent, and the relationship between the mother and father. Throughout Jackson s
film adaptation, the primary character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the novel, the murder and rape of Susie Salmon is intensively described, ...cut into pieces... blood
soaked into the soft, wet earth... leaving no question in the reader s mind as to what was happening or
might have happened (Novel, Chapters 2 3). While in the movie version of the book, the murder and
rape scene is not showed at all, only having to be assumed by showing Mr. Harvey, the murderer,
bathing with his entire bathroom covered in blood. Also, the movie doesn t mention rape at all, only
that Susie was murdered, while the book is specific in saying that she was first raped, and then
murdered (Movie). Towards the end of the movie, Susie enters the body of Ruth Connors, Ray s best
girl friend and a medium to the spirit world, while her and Ray are visiting the sink hole in their
neighborhood, and kisses Ray (Movie). In the novel, Susie actually has sex with Ray when she enters
the body of Ruth, with all details being explained explicitly. The relationship between Susie s mother
and father throughout the film adaptation of the novel was complicated, but not as complicated as the
actual novel. In the novel, after Susie s death, the fighting between the mother, Abigail, and the father,
Jack, becomes excessive and repetitive eventually leading to Abigail having an affair with the
detective of her daughter s murder case. She eventually leaves her home and family and moves to
work in a Californian winery

David Jones
DAVID JONES 8th October 09 Strategic Recommendations Report 08 Fall Executive Summary The
Australian retail industry is experiencing significant changes in both macro and industry
environments. Companies are required to improve customer service quality to retain customers as
rivalry for customers is increasing due to the rising amount of online retailers. To meet this challenge,
David Jones should expand into online retailing. Building customer loyalty will determine the
viability of the transformation into a successful e commerce company. Additionally, identification of

Additionally, the increasing overseas migration from Asia (Australian government 2009) will have an
impact on consumer behaviour. These demographic groups have higher spending patterns and higher
preference for branded products, and hence potentially increasing the market for high quality products
(Australian Government 2009). Australia lacks an international image as a major tourism shopping
destination, as compared to Hong Kong or Singapore, that have successfully positioned themselves as
central shopping and retail destinations in Asia (Folk 2009). Additionally, the geographic distance
from Asia reduces tourism shopping in Australia. The rise in protectionism around the world may
negatively impact David Jones performance due to increasing prices (Kemp 2009). 2.2. Industry

Solution Essay On World Hunger
First of all, what exactly causes the global hunger crisis and what has been put in place to help fix this
problem? The problem itself is best understood by saying One of the greatest challenges this world
faces is how to ensure that a growing population... has enough foods to meet their needs. (Business
Insider) The report also states that in order to have enough food for the estimated 10 billion people in
the year 2050, food production must increase by 50% globally. Also in the report by Business Insider,
statistics proved that in areas of greater conflict and fluctuation in climate the problem of world
hunger is harshest. Another reason for the world hunger epidemic is food availability. Food
availability has been affected through reduced import capacity while access of food has deteriorated in
part due to fiscal potential to protect poor households against rising domestic food prices (BI). This
makes sense because due to the climate changes like drought, an entire season of crops could be
ruined and leave thousands without food and with no other way to get it. The drought has caused
remaining crops to be sold at insanely high prices, high enough that the poor population cannot get the
food that they need. The negative effect that war has on food production is that the men that are
supposed to farm and grow the crops for many in their city and country to eat either have to stop what
they are doing and join the war or sell their food to the war efforts. The latter takes

Surely You Re Joking Mr. Feynman Essay
It is hard not to enjoy this author. Richard Feynman is an extremely curious character with a lot of
time on his hands. He obviously loved to explore the science world as an art. He won the Nobel Prize
in 1965 for physics and was one of the greatest physicists of all time. Within the few chapters and
pages that I have read, Richard Feynman was definitely a man with a huge sense of adventure and a
very high intelligence. In the first chapter that I read (Testing Bloodhounds), I thought that it was very
interesting. I never knew that we, as humans, could smell and observe things just like dogs. To my
understanding we can tell just about anything from smelling and looking at something that has just
been touched. I thought it was cool ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Feynman had a good excuse for picking locks though. Going through filing cabinets may not have
been legal, but Feynman did it. Today, if we were to pick a lock in a Dr. s office, we would definitely
get in trouble, it seemed like Feynman hardly ever got into trouble. He was probably so well respected
that no one really cared if he broke into cabinets or houses for that matter. The Third chapter that I
read was, Certainly Mr. Big! It was a chapter of excitement to say the least! I think that Feynman was
trying to figure out all of the games that people played with money and life. This chapter was not
really my favorite. It had a lot of information and it was just weird. The way that he explained the
situation with the high roller from Texas was kind of confusing and boring. Oh well, I guess you
cannot always enjoy every single chapter in every single book that you read. The one thing that I did
find out in this chapter, is that Richard Feynman likes women. That along with learning not to be a
gentleman is what I learned most. I thought it was different to hear that he did not want to be a
gentleman, but then when he explained it further with the Texas high roller I got what he was saying.
It was definitely a packed chapter with lots of information in it. The fourth chapter I read was, Is
electricity Fire? I liked how he brought God into science in this chapter. It is often hard to relate

Discrimination At Wal-Mart
Growing up I had always known Wal Mart to be the store with the cheapest prices, but I never knew
the history as to why Wal Mart was such a profitable business. Sam Walton established Wal Mart in
1962 in Rogers, Arkansas. Sam Walton believed in discounts, and low prices since he entered the
business in 1945. He said here s the simple lesson we learned by cutting your prices you can boost
your sales to a pint where you can earn far more at a cheaper retail price than you would have by
selling the item at a higher price (Goldman,.) He believed that having name brand products for an
affordable price would attract customers and he was right. By the end of the 1960 s he and his brothers
opened 18 Wal Mart stores, and then became incorporated in 1969. (Wal Mart Stores, Inc. Company
Profile Information 1). Sam Walton attributed the success of the company not only to the affordable
prices, but also to his employees. He taught his employees to give exceptional customer service which
would leave a lasting memory and keep them coming back and it seemed to work. But as time went on
the culture of Wal Mart changed and Wal Mart has not been true to its values. In this essay I will focus

European Exploration Factors
There were many factors that led to the European exploration. Out of the many factors, God, gold, and
country were the three main ones. God was a major factor because everyone wanted to please God and
spread Christianity all over the world. Gold was also a major factor because if you made a discovery,
you could make al lot of money off of the discovery. Finally country was also a great factor in the
European exploration because when an explorer brought something back for the country than he could
be praised. The rivalry between Portugal and Spain was how much land and resources each country
was discovering. Constantly the two were at each others necks trying to see who would discover more
land. Finally in 1943, pope Alexander VI wanted to

Do we have a Charli and Lasarus here? he said with a roll of his eyes.

You know the drill, shake hands I shook hands as respectful as I could knowing that anyone with

level of respect for me that day and will keep that for the rest of your life s.

Harker s Description Of Dracula
Bridging East and West:
When we first meet Dracula, he motions Harker into his castle, speaking excellent English, but with a
strange intonation (Stoker 22). Dracula desires to become a part of English culture and society so
thoroughly that he will be able to blend into society, a feat that Harker helps him accomplish. Dracula
desires this because he wants to live in and infect Britain. This terrifying image strikes at the heart of
an anxiety of Victorian Britain. Up until the late middle of the nineteenth century, Britain had ruled the
waves and was the only dominant global power. As the nineteenth century came to a close, fears of the
British Empire s weaknesses were beginning to emerge, as German and Russian forces were growing

a girl marry three men, or as many as want her, and save all this trouble? But this is heresy, and I must

The Emancipation Proclamation By President Abraham Lincoln
After the Civil War the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863 by President Abraham
Lincoln. The first paragraph of the Emancipation Proclamation states, That on the first day of January,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty three, all persons held as slaves within
any State or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United

States, including the military and naval authority thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of
such persons, and will do no act or acts to repress such persons, or any of them, in any efforts they
may make for their actual freedom. These words to the African Americans were their saving grace.
This first section of the Emancipation Proclamation promises the freedom of African Americans
through the protection of the American Government and the United States military. This was the first
time this had been promised to African Americans because during the time of slavery all the protection
that they had was from their master, so the promise of protection from the American Government was
a step forward that many African Americans did not think that they would ever achieve.
Along with the Emancipation Proclamation came three Constitutional amendments. The very first
amendment added to the Constitution was the thirteenth amendment, and to fully understand the

Emergency Management
The roles of information systems in emergency response system and how the individual would use it.
In emergency response management the basic network involves receiving information and then the
mobilization of the necessary emergency services and first responders to the disaster area. This is
should include a first wave of core emergency services, such as firefighters, police and ambulance
crews, but the size of the emergency determines the amount of resources allocated to any disaster. In
receiving information there needs to be a way to provide and obtain accurate and timely information
about the event and keep communication open and flowing with all the responders. It should have a
way for key people to communicate and keep everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would greatly reduce any information overload that would hinder decision making. In the span of
not having enough information, some decision makers will wait on making a decision, but this could
be just as bad as making a wrong decision.[Carver] Other key decision makers will fall back on
routines which might not be relevant in the situation. The technology in this situation needs to be able
to take the amount of information gathered and then start the allocation of resources to the area so that
information does start coming in, they can immediately start implementing the response plans. There
is a need for both discipline, which would include structure, doctrine, and processes, and agility which
could be defined by creativity, improvisation, adaptability in responding to a disaster.[Walker] There is
also the need to onboard and build an effective leadership team quickly to coordinate and manage
efforts as they grow beyond first responders. The leader and team must formulate and implement a
disciplined, iterative set of response plans, allowing initial coordinated responses that are vaguely
right, adapting to new information and changes in circumstances as they arise. There needs to be a
broad system that will allow people who have never worked together before the ability to understand
the objectives from the information provided and instantly update on any

The Colonel By Michael Hogan Analysis
Study by definition is the application of mind to the knowledge that one have, as by reading,
observation, writing or talking. Many people have acknowledged the benefits of studies in lives and
that is one of the reason why the education system exist. Studies have lots of advantages, but if people
both study and apply it to their lives, the knowledge that they have would last longer and give more
benefits to them. In Of Studies, Francis Bacon points out about the importance of studies and how it is
useful in practical application. In The Colonel, Michael Hogan describes his experiences in learning
tennis from an army colonel who also taught him life s lessons. Although Bacon and Hogan are both
writing about knowledge and lessons, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the matter of fact, Hogan s essay which was written in the later time from Bacon s helps people see
how some of these values were applied in one s life. For people to get comprehensive learning and
benefits from what they have studied, they have to put them into practical practices. Learning theories
or basic ideas of some subject of studies are not fully useful until people use as well as apply them in
their lives as both theories and practical knowledge should come

Indian Slavery In New France
Between the 17th and 18th centuries, colonists of New France took opposing stances towards their
Native American acquaintances. Through cultural understanding, gift giving, and Indian style
diplomacy the French negotiated the most expansive network of Native alliances in colonial North
America. At the same time, they also developed an extensive system of Indian slavery that
transformed thousands of Indian men, women, and children into objects of colonial commerce in
French settlements. Although French bureaucrats initially rejected captive exchange as a legitimate
token of friendship, many western traders embraced the practice as a means of strengthening trade
relations and securing valuable labor. Indian captives became more valuable as bargaining ... Show

Even before their legal recognition as chattel, these slaves worked in many different capacities,
contributing substantially to the wealth of slaveowners and to the productivity of the colony in
general. The Indian slavery in New France in the early 18th century relied on the fluidity and moral
ambiguity of the nature of slaves themselves. Slaves were often viewed as adopted members of a
group, despite their tormented state. By 1709, Indian Slavery was recognized and legalized in New
France as free labor helped satisfy the needs of the traders and government officials there amidst
economic downturn. Because the slave trade rewarded brutality with valuable goods, it encouraged the
colony s allies to choose warfare over peace. As slavery became legalized, slaves became
commodities rather than symbols of alliance, and thus the brutality surrounding them waned. Despite
the evolution of Indian Slaves status in New France, French government and officials took part in the
inhumane treatment of ritually brutalized men women and children in the first decade of the 18th

The American International Bank Case
THE AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL BANK CASE
* Summary of the Situation
Tamara Long sat in her office reflecting on the tough past 6 weeks. She was the head of the
international department at the American International Bank (AIB). Six weeks ago, the Chairman of
the bank had called Tamara into his office. A bulletin had just come over the bank s wire indicating
that a military coup had taken place in Portugal.
The bulletin also reported that the new military dictator had frozen all foreign assets in Portugal and
had imposed strict currency controls to keep capital from fleeing the country. When the Chairman
heard about this, he asked Tamara a perfectly logical question:
What was the bank s exposure in Portugal?
It had taken Tamara over a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She had complete confidence in their judgment and was kept informed through monthly reports as
well as phone conversations on any major transactions. Tamara made semiannual visits to all the
branches and quite often would accompany the CEOs of major clients when they went abroad to
arrange for mergers or acquisitions.
During these trips, Tamara made sure that the local branch manager accompanied her on all client
visits. Once every quarter, each branch manager visited headquarters in New York to review clients,
discuss plans, and exchange ideas. Tamara would try to schedule these meetings so that as many
managers as possible would be in New York at the same time. This afforded a chance for the managers
to meet and to exchange information about mutual clients. All in all, the working environment at AIB
was competitive but cordial, and there was a feeling of trust and mutual respect among management
personnel.
Each of the branches had a computer. These ranged in size from an IBM 4300 system at the London
office to minicomputers in all the other offices. London was the most automated of the overseas
offices; it was the largest, and it also had a thriving trust operation and a merchant banking business
(securities transactions). The other offices used their computers to maintain branch financial records,
bank ledgers, and information needed to prepare government regulatory reports. Other than monthly

Public Policy Impact On An American Corporation
Public Policy Impact on an American Corporation Due to the differences in mankind, issues and
conflicts often occurred in history for a multiplicity of reasons and they still will occur in the future.
But to improve the quality of life for everybody and because we are all supposed to be equal in some
way, we definitely need to create laws, draw up guidelines and develop principles that might solve
upcoming issues or at least minimize the harm for the unprivileged and socially disadvantaged part of
people. That is why I am going to write about the American with Disabilities Act. I will give an
overview of its content and go into particulars about its history and how the act emerged. Furthermore,
I will explain the benefits affected people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The law is supposed to protect people within the United States who suffer from physical, visual, or
hearing impairments just as cognitive disabilities. The ADA act is divided into four titles dealing with
aspects of employment, state and local governments/transportation/public services, public
accommodations and telecommunications (Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA): Summary of Key Points , 2014). The first title of the ADA prohibits
discriminative practices in the working environment. It applies to state and local governments, to
legislative and judicial branches of the Federal Government, to employment agencies and labor
unions. That means that private employers or others of the above mentioned entities who have more
than 15 employees cannot oppress qualified occupation candidates and workers on the premise of their
handicap. This implies that it is illicit to get some information about an inability amid the employment
interview. The person who applies for a job can decide if he or she wants to talk about an inability
when requesting changes that will help in doing something. This incorporates job restructuring and
equipment modifications. If required, managers must roll out a few improvements to empower the job
candidate with an impairment to perform the crucial elements of the employment (Rehabilitation
Institute of Chicago, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Summary of Key Points , 2014). Despite

Essay On Performing Enhancing Drugs
Performing Enhancing Drugs and the World of Sports Sports has become one of the most impactful
and influential parts of our culture. Sports has cemented itself as a standard part of society. In fact,
taking a look back on myself and coming from an athletic background, growing up my mom would
always put me in a variety of sports. When I reached high school age something that was always
drilled into me by my coaches was the aspect of hard work. During my high school sporting career
there was a multitude of setbacks and failures Coach Hosner who was my coach at the time, would

performance enhancing substances from survey data collected from 67,200 students. The sources of
the data included Monitoring the Future, the Partnership Attitude Tracking Study, and the Youth Risk

clear that when it comes to the high school level there is a clear increase in the experimentation of
PED s. For the high school athlete the usage of illegal drugs such as anabolic steroids has the potential
to turn into a deadly cycle as they can become solely reliable on the drugs and not their training or

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Pneumatics
Introduction
The technology of Pneumatics deals with the application and uses of a compressible gas such as air or
a suitable pure gas but hydraulics uses an incompressible liquid such as oil. The application started to
grow due to a gradual shift towards automated machines and equipment. The introduction of
pneumatics in manufacturing has introduced the cheaper mode of production in wide areas of
application such as Packaging machinery, Bottle filling Industry, artificial heart, logic control systems
and robotic materials handling devices etc. Due to several advantages, pneumatics is preferred over
hydraulics. The coming future technology in this field is further improving the hydraulics in terms of
cost and energy efficiency.

The first compressors were seen around 3000 B.C. to provide small blows of air to aid in starting fire.
In around 1500 B.C, these simple devices were evolved into larger units and used in metal smelting.
Around the 18th century, mechanical compressors were used to do useful work, any many
experiments were done to test the power and applicability of pneumatic systems. Pneumatics was used
to power a tunneling project in Mt. Cenis, located in the Alps. If traditional drilling methods were used
(manual) the project would have taken around 30 long years. By using pneumatic drills, the tunnel
was completed in just 14 years and was open to traffic in 1871. This project caught the attention of
many government agencies and they began to talk of compressor stations for city wide power
consumption. (6)
Paris was actually the first city to try pneumatics in 1888 when a 65 horsepower (HP) rated
compressor fed 4 miles of main wire with 30 miles of branch circuits delivering 90 psi. By 1891 the
capacity of the motor was increased to 25,000 HP. Electricity would become the most convenient on
large scale energy transmission while pneumatics were used in more industrial applications including
power, process, and control

Theme Of Touching Spirit Bear
Theme Essay Flash Draft In life, people have made mistakes, but it doesn t matter how far down the
wrong road you go, you can always turn back. In the book, Touching Spirit Bear , by Ben Mikaelsen,
Cole has always made bad choices, but goes to Circle Justice for it. He learns his way there because he
realized that he can control his emotions. Also, when he soaks in the pond and throws the ancestor
rock, he feels his mistakes and anger forgiving him because his feelings are no longer taking control of
Cole. Finally, Cole can forgive and help his victim (Peter) heal after he learned his way at Circle
Justice. The first reason why it doesn t matter how far down the wrong road you go, you can always

In this part of the story, Cole is telling Garvey and/or Edwin that he can help Peter, because he realized
his true emotions. In the text it states, I know he s afraid of me and what I did. He thinks I m a monster
that s coming back to get him. Maybe if he meets me again face to face, he ll see I ve changed. And
maybe he ll see that he can heal, too. (Mikaelsen, Touching Spirit Bear, 206 207). This shows that
Cole feels empathy for Peter and knows that he can change Peter s mind about who he thinks Cole
really is. Cole is a good person now, and even though he made a mistake back then, he is back on
track and is capable of doing things that no one thought Cole would ever do. Peter is a good kid, and
once he saw that Cole has become who he is now, Peter did realize that Cole was a good person, and
eventually, learned that sometimes you just have to trust

Health Care Cost Benefit Analysis
Federal health care costs continue to exceed the American economy fueled by federal health care law,
rising enrollments, and increased enrollee spending. The 2010 Affordable Care Act (ACA)
significantly changed federal health care policies in the key areas of insurance coverage, access to
care, medical care financing, and Medicare program operations. ACA provides good benefits to
Americans but comes with a 12.2% increase in cost to the federal government (Meyer, 2017). Health
care costs are projected to increase to more than $4 trillion dollars by the end of 2017 nearly doubling
since 2006 (Meyer, 2017). Economists project this trend to continue estimating a 6.9% increase
annually making it the single highest cost to the federal government (Edwards, 2017). The cost of
health care is approaching a crisis if unchecked will continue to grow. Congress has struggled to reach
consensus on a more efficient approach to managing health cares costs failing in 2017 to repeal or
replace ACA. They will need to reengage now to enact laws to stabilize this looming threat to the
American people. I recommend three changes to reduce the impact to federal debt. These changes are

increase in premiums since 2016. These rising costs must be mitigated and requiring drug
manufacturers to pay the same rebate currently paid to Medicaid and Medicare is the first step.
Rebates are paid quarterly to the states and shared with the federal government to offset the overall
cost. Implementing this recommendation is estimated to reduce federal government costs by $220

Analysis Of The Sherman Anti Trust Act Of 1890
Price manipulation
As a consumer, we all get frustrated when we think a listed price is too high whether it is a necessity,
and we have to buy it, or we just really want it. Some of the largest complaints by consumers today
are directed towards the cost of goods. Marketing research has shown us that the costs of some items
are being intentionally raised based on aspects of the individual who is making the purchase. The
manipulation of prices can be broken down into three main issues: price fixing, price gouging, and
price discrimination. Are there any positive or beneficial reasons to do this? Yes and no, the following
paragraphs provide information about each practice individually.
Price fixing occurs when competitors of the same industry agree to raise, lower, or stabilize the prices
of their products. This is classified as a horizontal agreement because it involves competitors. They do
this in order to manipulate prices to gain an unfair advantage. The government has a law in place for
this issue called the Sherman Anti Trust Act of 1890. This law requires each company to set its prices
and other terms on its own. Generally, the consumer expects the price of a product to be determined
by the current supply and demand. This is not the case with price fixing, as competitors use this tactic
to skew the market. Price fixing is illegal and difficult to catch, but there are signs that could be
helpful in determining if price fixing is in play. If competitors have

The Correlation Between Self Efficacy And Specific Aspects...
The survey results would be analyzed to discover any correlations between the three sections. I would
correlate each of the demographic factors to the self efficacy score to determine if any patterns emerge
indicating that self efficacy has an impact on lifestyle and experiences outside of abuse, or conversely,
whether lifestyle has an impact on self efficacy. This survey would be too limited to distinguish which
is driving the other, except to say that a relationship of some kind exists, and that could provide a
jumping off point for future research.
I would also correlate each participant s self efficacy score to the scores from the biographical area as
subdivided into these categories: total number of incidents, past offender against ... Show more

To understand the variation in responses, I would identify the measures of dispersion for self efficacy
scores and each of the maltreatment subcategories (past and present, victim, and offender against
minor and against partner incidents). Discussion
Needless to say, this survey would in no way provide conclusive information regarding how to break
the cycle of violence. It would, however, provide insight into the connection that may exist between a
person s level of self efficacy and their experience of abuse, both as victim and perpetrator. This
would be extremely beneficial to anyone involved in assisting abuse victims because it would provide
the knowledge and motivation to help clients develop self efficacy, thereby arming them with at least
one of the requisite tools to safeguard them against becoming a victim or offender. My hope is that by
enhancing victims self efficacy, future generations can be spared because victims will go forward
making healthier choices than did their predecessors. That is assuming, of course, that my hypothesis
is correct, and a high level of self efficacy is correlated to low involvement in the cycle of violence.

  • 2. Qualitative And Quantitative And Qualitative Methodologies involves a bigger sample size and to confirm an inferred hypothesis. Hence, it is important to have the balance of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies in a combined methodologies research study. It is interesting to note that, one clear practical issue in combining both methods is the issue whether the combined methodologies are genuinely integrated (Bryman, 2007). Bryman further argued, to what extent do researchers who combined both methodologies analyse, interpret and write up their research in a way that both qualitative and quantitative components are mutually integrated. Moreover, when combining both methods often led to the issue of each qualitative and quantitative method are treated as separate domains instead of being treated as one method. Bryman (2007) further extent the issue of not genuinely integrated to the fact that, combined methods may lead to underutilising the data collected. Not being able to integrate both methods would then make any researcher not being able to make most of the data that have been collected. Additionally, this is supported by Borkan (2011), where he suggested that different audiences, reviewers and journals for qualitative and quantitative methods would cause researcher to produce result in equal ways of reporting it and thus affect the capacity of not making most of the data collected. The study of health sciences research, where research reports were particularly assessed to identify the extent to which the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Initial Diagnosis And Treatment Plan Process Initial Diagnosis and Treatment Plan Process Listening to a client during an initial session and applying reflective listening techniques can put you in the mindfulness moment with the client. By being a mindful listener as a therapist, I believe it helps with being able to diagnose your client more accurate. It is important to have a system or flow of questions during your intake process, so it can provide the clinician with viable information regarding that client and their concerns, from there you can create a specific treatment plan. Without a client rapport, it is difficult to effectively counsel someone because people don t like to listen or talk to other people they don t trust, therefore, building a rapport with your client is important. Not only is building a rapport important for a counselor, but we must rely on our interviewing skills to obtain valuable information. From intake to completion of treatment, the intake interview is typically when the treatment association begins between the client and the counselor. At the same time during the intake process, there is a large amount of personal data that can be collected thru a general checklist of question including symptoms that can help with diagnosing the client. When initial meeting between the client and counselor one can start off with the two basic greeting questions: 1. How are you feeling today? 2. What brings you in today? • 4. Essay about The Lovely Bones Movie vs Book Peter Jackson s 2009 film, The Lovely Bones, is based off of the New York Times bestseller novel written by Alice Sebold. Both the book and the movie adaptation tell the story of a young, 14 year old girl named Susie Salmon who is brutally murdered by her neighbor. In both versions, Susie narrates her story from the place between Heaven and Earth, the in between, showing the lives of her family and friends and how each of their lives have changed since her murder. However, the film adaptation and the original novel differ in the sense of the main character focalization throughout, the graphic explanatory to visual extent, and the relationship between the mother and father. Throughout Jackson s film adaptation, the primary character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the novel, the murder and rape of Susie Salmon is intensively described, ...cut into pieces... blood soaked into the soft, wet earth... leaving no question in the reader s mind as to what was happening or might have happened (Novel, Chapters 2 3). While in the movie version of the book, the murder and rape scene is not showed at all, only having to be assumed by showing Mr. Harvey, the murderer, bathing with his entire bathroom covered in blood. Also, the movie doesn t mention rape at all, only that Susie was murdered, while the book is specific in saying that she was first raped, and then murdered (Movie). Towards the end of the movie, Susie enters the body of Ruth Connors, Ray s best girl friend and a medium to the spirit world, while her and Ray are visiting the sink hole in their neighborhood, and kisses Ray (Movie). In the novel, Susie actually has sex with Ray when she enters the body of Ruth, with all details being explained explicitly. The relationship between Susie s mother and father throughout the film adaptation of the novel was complicated, but not as complicated as the actual novel. In the novel, after Susie s death, the fighting between the mother, Abigail, and the father, Jack, becomes excessive and repetitive eventually leading to Abigail having an affair with the detective of her daughter s murder case. She eventually leaves her home and family and moves to work in a Californian winery ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. David Jones DAVID JONES 8th October 09 Strategic Recommendations Report 08 Fall Executive Summary The Australian retail industry is experiencing significant changes in both macro and industry environments. Companies are required to improve customer service quality to retain customers as rivalry for customers is increasing due to the rising amount of online retailers. To meet this challenge, David Jones should expand into online retailing. Building customer loyalty will determine the viability of the transformation into a successful e commerce company. Additionally, identification of stakeholders and their requirements are crucial in major organisational changes. To respond to changes in the external environment, David Jones should scale back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, the increasing overseas migration from Asia (Australian government 2009) will have an impact on consumer behaviour. These demographic groups have higher spending patterns and higher preference for branded products, and hence potentially increasing the market for high quality products (Australian Government 2009). Australia lacks an international image as a major tourism shopping destination, as compared to Hong Kong or Singapore, that have successfully positioned themselves as central shopping and retail destinations in Asia (Folk 2009). Additionally, the geographic distance from Asia reduces tourism shopping in Australia. The rise in protectionism around the world may negatively impact David Jones performance due to increasing prices (Kemp 2009). 2.2. • 6. Solution Essay On World Hunger First of all, what exactly causes the global hunger crisis and what has been put in place to help fix this problem? The problem itself is best understood by saying One of the greatest challenges this world faces is how to ensure that a growing population... has enough foods to meet their needs. (Business Insider) The report also states that in order to have enough food for the estimated 10 billion people in the year 2050, food production must increase by 50% globally. Also in the report by Business Insider, statistics proved that in areas of greater conflict and fluctuation in climate the problem of world hunger is harshest. Another reason for the world hunger epidemic is food availability. Food availability has been affected through reduced import capacity while access of food has deteriorated in part due to fiscal potential to protect poor households against rising domestic food prices (BI). This makes sense because due to the climate changes like drought, an entire season of crops could be ruined and leave thousands without food and with no other way to get it. The drought has caused remaining crops to be sold at insanely high prices, high enough that the poor population cannot get the food that they need. The negative effect that war has on food production is that the men that are supposed to farm and grow the crops for many in their city and country to eat either have to stop what they are doing and join the war or sell their food to the war efforts. The latter takes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Surely You Re Joking Mr. Feynman Essay It is hard not to enjoy this author. Richard Feynman is an extremely curious character with a lot of time on his hands. He obviously loved to explore the science world as an art. He won the Nobel Prize in 1965 for physics and was one of the greatest physicists of all time. Within the few chapters and pages that I have read, Richard Feynman was definitely a man with a huge sense of adventure and a very high intelligence. In the first chapter that I read (Testing Bloodhounds), I thought that it was very interesting. I never knew that we, as humans, could smell and observe things just like dogs. To my understanding we can tell just about anything from smelling and looking at something that has just been touched. I thought it was cool ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Feynman had a good excuse for picking locks though. Going through filing cabinets may not have been legal, but Feynman did it. Today, if we were to pick a lock in a Dr. s office, we would definitely get in trouble, it seemed like Feynman hardly ever got into trouble. He was probably so well respected that no one really cared if he broke into cabinets or houses for that matter. The Third chapter that I read was, Certainly Mr. Big! It was a chapter of excitement to say the least! I think that Feynman was trying to figure out all of the games that people played with money and life. This chapter was not really my favorite. It had a lot of information and it was just weird. The way that he explained the situation with the high roller from Texas was kind of confusing and boring. Oh well, I guess you cannot always enjoy every single chapter in every single book that you read. The one thing that I did find out in this chapter, is that Richard Feynman likes women. That along with learning not to be a gentleman is what I learned most. I thought it was different to hear that he did not want to be a gentleman, but then when he explained it further with the Texas high roller I got what he was saying. It was definitely a packed chapter with lots of information in it. The fourth chapter I read was, Is electricity Fire? I liked how he brought God into science in this chapter. It is often hard to relate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Discrimination At Wal-Mart Growing up I had always known Wal Mart to be the store with the cheapest prices, but I never knew the history as to why Wal Mart was such a profitable business. Sam Walton established Wal Mart in 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas. Sam Walton believed in discounts, and low prices since he entered the business in 1945. He said here s the simple lesson we learned by cutting your prices you can boost your sales to a pint where you can earn far more at a cheaper retail price than you would have by selling the item at a higher price (Goldman,.) He believed that having name brand products for an affordable price would attract customers and he was right. By the end of the 1960 s he and his brothers opened 18 Wal Mart stores, and then became incorporated in 1969. (Wal Mart Stores, Inc. Company Profile Information 1). Sam Walton attributed the success of the company not only to the affordable prices, but also to his employees. He taught his employees to give exceptional customer service which would leave a lasting memory and keep them coming back and it seemed to work. But as time went on the culture of Wal Mart changed and Wal Mart has not been true to its values. In this essay I will focus on different discrimination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally country was also a great factor in the European exploration because when an explorer brought something back for the country than he could be praised. Although I am young, I feel that a certain lesson in particular has been key to my small but important successes. I ve learned that working hard will demand your respect no matter who you are. I continue to apply this life long lesson on the wrestling mats with my coaches at every meet, practice, and free time. It was the Bend City Championships (wrestling). Analysis Of The Sherman Anti Trust Act Of 1890 Price manipulation As a consumer, we all get frustrated when we think a listed price is too high whether it is a necessity, and we have to buy it, or we just really want it. Some of the largest complaints by consumers today are directed towards the cost of goods. Marketing research has shown us that the costs of some items are being intentionally raised based on aspects of the individual who is making the purchase. The manipulation of prices can be broken down into three main issues: price fixing, price gouging, and price discrimination. Are there any positive or beneficial reasons to do this? Yes and no, the following paragraphs provide information about each practice individually. Price fixing occurs when competitors of the same industry agree to raise, lower, or stabilize the prices of their products. This is classified as a horizontal agreement because it involves competitors. They do this in order to manipulate prices to gain an unfair advantage. The government has a law in place for this issue called the Sherman Anti Trust Act of 1890. This law requires each company to set its prices and other terms on its own. Generally, the consumer expects the price of a product to be determined by the current supply and demand. This is not the case with price fixing, as competitors use this tactic to skew the market. It would, however, provide insight into the connection that may exist between a person s level of self efficacy and their experience of abuse, both as victim and perpetrator.
