Prayer In School Essay
Composing an essay on the subject of prayer in schools poses a considerable challenge due to the
multifaceted nature of the topic. The issue of prayer in educational institutions is a deeply rooted
and controversial subject, intertwining aspects of religion, constitutional rights, and societal
values. Addressing the various perspectives surrounding this matter demands a delicate balance,
as the writer must navigate through diverse opinions and potentially conflicting ideologies.
One of the primary complexities lies in maintaining objectivity while discussing a topic that often
elicits strong emotional responses. The writer must tread carefully to avoid favoring one
viewpoint over another and should strive to present a comprehensive overview of the historical,
legal, and cultural dimensions associated with prayer in schools.
Furthermore, the task involves rigorous research to delve into the historical context of prayer in
educational settings, examining pivotal court cases, legislative developments, and public
sentiments. Analyzing the constitutional implications and the separation of church and state
adds another layer of intricacy to the essay.
Crafting a coherent narrative while accommodating a wide array of perspectives, from those
advocating for the freedom of religious expression to those concerned about potential violations
of the Establishment Clause, requires finesse in argumentation. Additionally, the writer needs to
acknowledge the diversity of religious beliefs within society and recognize the potential impact
of inclusive or exclusive prayer practices on different groups.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of prayer in schools demands a meticulous and
nuanced approach. The ability to navigate through the complexities of religious freedoms, legal
precedents, and societal expectations is crucial. A successful essay on this subject necessitates a
balanced exploration of diverse viewpoints, underpinned by thorough research and a
commitment to impartiality.

Sir Walter Raleigh Sent Two Explorers
In 1584, Sir Walter Raleigh sent two explorers Philip Amadas and Arthur Barlowe to
the new world to find a settlement location for colonist settlement. They arrived in the
New World on 4 July 1584 and established a good relationship with the natives.
Earning the trust of the native, Amadas and Barlowe returned back to Englandin 1585
with two natives Manteo and Wanchese. Manteo was the chief of the Croatoan tribe
and Wanchese was from Roanoke; both speak Algonquian. The explorers had good
and exciting news to report of the wonders of the New World, specifically Roanoke
Island, and how to it could enrich England more. Sir Raleigh reported the discovery
of the Island and the located was named Virginia, in honor of the Virgin Queen.

All the colonists wanted a fresh start, they were in search of a better life and
wanted a place they could call their home void of all the restriction imposed on
their lives by their current land. The colonists had lived under so much hardship
and inequality and they were hopeful for a new beginning. Therefore, joining the
expedition was a lot easier With the help of Amadas and Barlowe, the geography of
the area was created and Sir Raleigh sent the colonists on the second expedition full
of hope for the venture. The expedition was led by Sir Richard Grenville. Grenville
left England with five ships, but the ships separated during the cause of their travel
and reunited in the Outer Bank of the Island. While at sea, one of the ships hits a
shoal and lost most of their food supplies to water. Also, one of the ship The Red
Lion dropped off it passengers and left the colonists on the Outer Bank. The colonists
moved to Roanoke Island and began to settle into the area. The got to the Island after
the planting season was over, so they could not plant anything. To make their situation
further complicated, they constantly fought the neighboring natives and this behavior
put a strain on their relationship with the natives and subsequently on their stay on
the island. During their initial exploration of the area, the colonists fought with the

Rebecca is a beautiful, haunting, gripping tale of love, hate and deceit told in the

that only ends with the end of the novel itself. I think du Maurier s greatest
accomplishment in this book, character wise, is the way she develops Rebecca, who

Shy, vulnerable and in total awe of Manderly, Manderly s new mistress is
everything that Rebecca wasn t. She falls an easy prey to Rebecca s faithful servant
Mrs. Danvers who with her hollow eyes and

Healthcare Information Systems ( Pms ) And Electronic...
In today s information age, there is a growing trend towards digitalization of the
services provided. A field of study that has recently gained momentum is healthcare.
Over a course of time, a patient s healthcare information is progressively accumulated,
therefore is a high need of a systematic system that can efficiently store as well as
retrieve all that medical information when in need. Two healthcare information
systems that provide such an electronic medium for patient care are: practice
management systems (PMS) and electronic medical records (EMR). Despite the
potential benefits, the implementation of these processes impose some challenges, for
instance in the case of establishing mobile healthclinics by the Children s Health Fund
(CHF) (Brown, C.V., Dehayes, D.W., Hoffer, J.A, Martin, E.W., Perkins, W.C., 2012).
Background to the Organization
CHF is an organization that strives to provide basic healthcare to the country s
underprivileged population primarily the children under the age of 24 (Brown et al.,
2012). In 1987, Dr Irwin Redlener, the cofounder and the president of the
organization established the organization in New York City (Brown et al., 2012).
Another co founder of this organization was a singer and songwriter named Paul
Simon (Brown et al., 2012). Initially, the organization s primary focus was to mainly
provide healthcare to homeless kids, which was later transitions to a broader goal.
The organization runs over 200 healthcare sites, which
Julius Caesar s Influence On The Roman Empire
Miguel H.
The Roman Empire is considered one of the most powerful empire in history. It
influenced many cultures and societies. The Roman army was feared throughout
Europe because it was vast in size. Even though it had many problems throughout its
reign, it had lasted for over five hundred years The Roman Empire demonstrated the
strength needed to rule so many other countries and cities, setting the foundation for
other governments (modeling for other countries?) . The Roman ruler Julius Caesar
was often regarded as the first emperor of rome but that s not true, Julius Caesar was
actually a dictator over the roman territory. It was because of his many campaigns
throughout Europe and him helping the roman government, that they considered ...

Most of the emperors were assassinated by there own people and some didn t even
rule from at least 5 years. This caused distrust on each other and the people of
Rome started to have less faith in them. In Constantinople, after troubles reaching
back to 790, the empress Irene had her son Constantine VI blinded and deposed in
797 and took his place, the first woman to rule the empire in her own right
(Barraclough 4). The Roman economy had suffered inflation once they stopped
conquering new lands and so the coins became less value. Since the value of coins
decreased it was harder to pay soldiers to defend against the borders. When
Diocletian established the tetrarchy and later retired the rulers of the land turned on
each other. This period, also known as the Imperial Crisis, was characterized by civil
war, as various military leaders fought for control of the empire (Mark 3). The

Vonnegut is an important, contributing member of American society because his
ideas have changed the standards and views of modern literature. In his books, he
often portrays a universe that is essentially without purpose (Merril 48). The basic
tone in his literature is a gloomy view of humanity, but he also shows how to
improve life. His topics of writing include advice to be kind, to have pity, to seek
companionship of others, and to enjoy the simple human pleasure of life (Vonnegut

his non fiction books, Palm Sunday, he outlines the steps to become a better human

The Hurt Man Essay
The Hurt Man
by Wendell Berry
Sometimes in life you accomplish epiphanies. You suddenly realize something huge.
It can either be something about love or something totally different. But one thing
you absolutely know is that, it s going to change the way you re living your life. That
s the coincidence in the short story, The Hurt Man, where the young boy, Mat
Feltner, realize something remarkable about life. The Hurt Man takes place in Port
William which is a small town on the American Frontier. It takes place long time
back in the past back in the 1880s. The situation that changes Mat s life is started by
the usual clashes in the pub. One of the men gets hurt and seeks for help on Mat s
front porch. The woman of the house, Mat s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As you can see on p. 4 ll. 118 123. Where the mother ignores all evil and helps the
hurt man.
What he saw in her face would remain with him forever. It was pity, but it was more
than that. It was a hurt love that seemed to include entirely the hurt man. It included
him and disregarded everything else. It disregarded the aura of whiskey that
ordinarily she would have resented; it disregarded the blood puddled on the porch
floor and the trail of blood through the hall.
These lines are some of the most important lines about the mother. This explains
exactly what kind of person she is. This explains how caring she is and how she
just ignores the aura of whiskey and gives all her love to the hurt man, even though
he is a complete stranger. That is a strong personality and she probably became that
kind of person, because she has had so many losses herself.
The major theme of the short story is realizing death happens. Realizing it and know
how to live your life with knowing it. That is what Nancy is doing. She is living her
life knowing that almost all her children are dead. But the only ways she can handle
that tragedy are by giving the love further to the hurt man. Mat accepts the fact as
well, but always has in mind that death

E-Procurement in Global Supply Chain Management
E procurement in global supply chain management
Introduction
From 1990s, due to the economic globalization and the increased competitive
pressures, lots of firms increase their focus on integrated supply chain management to
gain a competitive advantage. Effective supply chain can facilitate a firm to be more
competitive not only by reducing the purchasing costs but also improving the
competitive dimensions of quality, dependability, flexibility, and innovation.
Nowadays with globalization, global supply chain management is becoming a very
important issue for most of businesses. The main reasons of this trend are
procurement cost reduction, purchasing risks control, and revenues increasing. For
instance, companies may set up overseas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is to say, using e commerce not only can increase services level to keep
customers, but also make profits more than before. Nowadays, there are many
companies using e logistics and e procurement for customers, because those will be
an optimal way to extend and increase business processes in supply chain
management and also those are real value methods to attract more customers than
before. Therefore, e commerce can create a lot of additional values in the company
in order to maximize its chances of success.
There are three main things in e commerce: information, Internet and technology.
Information
Improving the use of information is the important thing in e commerce because more
accurate, up to date information about customer demanded allows products to be
delivered in the right way in order to decrease cost and increase efficiency (2001, Lee
and Seungjin). So, a company should prioritize internal system first, because the
company should complete internal for controlling its information and business. Then,
companies can start to use external system in order to increase service level for
customer and to deliver information between suppliers and customers rapidly.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Radiation
Radiation is the process of which energy is emitted either by particles or waves.
(Radiation, n.d.) . Radioactive isotopes are chemical elements that have different
masses and spare energy by emitting radiation in for of alpha, beta, and gamma
rays. Gamma rays are photons with high energy and a very short wavelength of
0.0005 to 0.1nm. (What is Radioactivity? What is Radiation?, n.d.) Every chemical
element has one or more radioactive isotopes, for example carbon, it has 3 isotopes
with different mass numbers, 12, 13, and 14. Radioactive isotopes have many
different useful applications. In medicine, for example, Cobalt 60 is used as a
radiation source to stop the growth of cancer in the body. Another use for radioactive
isotopes is in industry,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hands there are many disadvantages for radiation, let s start, radiation
takes a very long time to break down, it is hazardous to the environment, and it is
kept under water for a few years in metal containers, also when the radiation comes
out of a nuclear power plant is it so toxic for people that are standing near it and
unprotected or masked which could result in serious injury or even death. (Pros
and Cons of Radiation, n.d.). Using radioactive isotopes has a very main role in
the category of medication, in another meaning, it has many medical uses. One of
the medical uses of radioactive isotopes is that doctors can see if tibia or also
known as the shinbone has a stress fracture, but ask yourself? How can this be used?
The answer is that the patient is given a small injection containing 99T Cm which is

Difference Between Theseus And The Hunger Games
Theseus and the Minotaur Vs. The Hunger Games
An ancient foundational story and a modern story that have some similarities are
Theseus and the Minotaur and The Hunger Games. Both have a storyline where one
person volunteers to protect someone else and prepare to take on a difficult challenge
that could end up being fatal in the end.
In the story between Theseus and the Minotaur, King Minos requested that seven
boys and seven girls come to Crete from Athens every nine years so his son the
Minotaur could feast (Gods, Heroes and Monsters, 4.11.). The Minotaur lived in the
center of a very tricky maze called the labyrinth. Theseus didn t like the idea of
sending young children to Crete so he volunteered to go himself and defeat the
Minotaur. Theseus says to his father When it is time to send the next tribute, I will
go as one of them and I vow that it is the last time the Minotaur will be fed with the
flesh of any of our people (Myths and Legends, 2006) . The bravery Theseus had to
save his people is part of the reason why he is considered a mythological hero. He
volunteered himself to defeat the creature not knowing if he was going to make it
himself. He was confident and wise but the maze was confusing and anyone who
goes in doesn t necessary come back out. King Minos wasn t worried because if he
were to defeat his son, he wouldn t find his way back out. In The Hunger Games,
there are twelve districts. Every year a boy and a girl from each district is selected to

A Butcher s Tale And Alain Corbin s Village Of Cannibals
Helmut Walser Smith s A Butcher s Tale and Alain Corbin s Village of Cannibals,
present case studies of historical accounts which demonstrate the power of masses
and of crowd violence in the small Prussian town of Konitz and the isolated French
village of Hautefaye. Small towns are generally attributed to communal
characteristics where citizens help and protect one another; however, the events that
unraveled in these two cases generated a shock factor to the neighboring towns as it
exemplified the power of rumor and the overall naivety of the inhabitants of the two
towns. These case studies are also reflections of how the most civilized of societies
are able to resort to barbaric actions through mere hearsay and allow their prejudices
to shape their perception. This paper will examine the dynamics of the crowd, the
explanation for the unfolding events and the ways in which both authors reach their
conclusions of the unraveling of these events. The particular unfolding of events in
both case studies of the historical accounts of violence which occurs in these two
small towns is explained through the notion of rumor as a news source. Smith s A
Butchers Tale investigates the anti Semitic violence in the town of Konitz
reconstructing the murder of an eighteen year old boy Ernst Winter whose body had
been found brutally dismembered. At first the murder goes unnoticed; however, two
days later body parts slowly start to make their way around town followed by the

Case Study Of Burger King And Tim Hortons
The size of potential synergies is small as Burger King and Tim Hortons will
continue working as distinct brands. As a result, only common corporate services and
several purchase savings will enjoy any arising synergies.
2.1 Burger King First, Burger King will experience an increase in revenue after
taking over Tim Hortons (Kirby, 2014). The increase of revenue is due to the
improved menu resources. However, menu resources will not help Burger King outdo
its current competitors like McDonalds. It will only help to improve Burger King
position. Improved menu resources perfectly suit the takeover s new model of
concentrating strongly on international growth. Burger King knows Tim Hortons has
been trying hard to acquire a base on United States markets for several years now
despite highly strong demand in Canada. At the same time, Burger King has been

Symbolism In Angel s Ashes

People go through many hardships throughout their lives, and the book Angel s Ashes
by Frank McCourt is the perfect example of how one can overcome.
Frank faced many antagonists throughout his life. One of his antagonist was his Aunt
Aggie. She is always looking down on Angela and her family. After Angela had to be
rushed to the hospital the children had to stay with her, then she looked at the baby
and said Jesus above, that baby is a disgrace (McCourt 241). She also didn t want
to push the pram through the town because she was embarrassed to be seen with
it. She passed the remark saying `tis a disgraceful looking object she d be ashamed

Essay Unit 1 Chapter 1
Long ago, at a small village next to Roc A Fella peaks, there lived three young boys.
Jermaine, Nas, and Kendrick. Kendrick was a descendant of the lightning district of
the village, Nas was born and raised in the fire district, and Jermaine was a simple
village boy who grew crops and raised cattle. Ever since the villagewas established it
was divided into four main groups. The fire district, the lightning district, the village
folk, and the All Mighty s. Mostly all lived in peace until one day. It was December
and the day was cold. The wind blew rapidly and incoherently as the village folk
worked on the crops and attend to their many cattle. Then, something started falling
from the sky...it was snowing. Normally this isn t a big deal,... Show more content on

The people of the district are torn. They do not want to leave the village, whereas this
is their home. In recognition of this, Inferno comes to a devilish resolution. His
proposition? To overrun the lighting district and, relocate in their absence, in the only
place free of snow. The people are shocked, but their moral dilemma is short lived
when it seems this is their only option. It is decided! If the snow does not clear up
in the next three days, the strong of the district will ambush the unsuspecting
people of the lightning district; using any force necessary to clear the land. When
word spreads to the lightning district the All Seer for their land, Voltage, declares
war on any advances that are made by the fire district. Forcing cause to no further
delay a war as massive as the Battle of Mt. Olympus. Meanwhile at the bottom of the
Throne, the highest mountain on Roc A Fella peaks, halted was Jermaine awaiting
the arrival of his accomplices Nas and Kendrick. The three knowing the struggles
they re all in, they have decided to visit the top of the Throne to speak with the gods.
To seek answers on the snow and how to stop it. As they battle mythical creatures of
mass proportion and production, they withstand every test to get to the top. In each
battle one of the three accomplices uses the snow to defeat the mighty creatures and
furthermore their quest. As they reach the top of the mountain, they come to a
Jackie Robinson Turning Point Analysis
1. How do turning points impact a person s life, family, and country? A turning
point can be described as a life changing event that can have a negative or positive
outcome on a person. In the autobiography, I Never Had It Made , by Jackie
Robinson, the memoir, Warriors Don t Cry , By Melba Pattillo Beals, and the article,
The Father of Chinese Aviation by Rebecca Maksel each of the individuals faced
turning points. Jackie Robinson, Melba Pattillo Beals, and Feng Ru all faced life
changing experiences that changed both their lives and their countries.
2. Jackie Robinson s life changed when he became the first black man to play in the
world series and Major League Baseball (MLB) during a time of segregation in
America. These life changing events challenged him because he had to face
racially tense crowds and endured threats from teammates, opponents, and bigoted
fans. For example in paragraph three, the text states, Some of my own teammates
refused to accept me because I was black. This quote explains a negative portraying
event that comes upon Jackie Robinson. Also in paragraph three the text states,
There were threats against me and my family and even out and out attempts and
physical harm to me. This explains how Jackie felt uneasy about how the whites
were trying to put Jackie down. Despite the racism he faced, Robinson learned to
have pride in his accomplishments and appreciate the courage, support, and love
shown by his supporters. For example, in paragraph eleven, the text states, I don t
think I ll ever forget that small, shrill voice of a tiny white kid, in the midst of a
racially tense atmosphere during an early game in a Dixie town, cried out, Attaboy,
Jackie. This explains how because of one his supporters was cheering him on he felt
he had to succeed even if most people wouldn t accept him. Jackie s challenges made
him a popular name to remember in the Major Leagues today.
3. Melba Pattillo Beals life changed when she integrated an all white high school.
The events challenged Beals because she faced racism and because of this she built
up confidence and character. In paragraph thirteen the text states, Some of the white
people looked totally horrified while others raised their fists
Ambiguity And The Beast In Beowulf

Attracted by the light and singing of the town s tavern, the beas punch open the door.
The pieces of broken door flew across the tavern hitting liquor bottles and people

the beast, ricochet off and hit another drunkard. The bartender appear from behind the

The Perfect Body Image
The word ideal is a frequently used term to describe the sense of perfection.
Actors, models, and celebrities who are seen in magazines, television, and/or social
media demonstrate the physical characteristics of the widely desired ideal image;
which includes of being a female who is tall, slender, and blemish free or a male
who is tall, masculine, and smooth skinned. Because the media constantly presents
models and actresses with an unachievable body image it influences both feminine
and masculine genders in believing what is considered to be the perfect ideal image
in today s society. Unfortunately, it is within the human nature to strive for perfection
and because today s generation is frequently surrounded by the idealized image a large

Many people have unwilling fallen as victims of this perfect body image that are
commonly shown in magazines and advertisements influencing them to discipline
their bodies so they could achieve this standardized ideal image. Models in
advertisements are represented as being perfect, but some people are unaware that
there are digital effects in play, such as Photoshop. There are more than one third of
women who want to have the appearance of a female model; unfortunately, there are
also as much men who want to appear like the muscular male models that are
presented in the mass media. Since there is such pressure in having a good body
women and men can experience societal pressure and guilt about their self body
image. Since having the perfect ideal image is the biggest concern in today s
society, many people are constantly reminded as to what is considered as being
normal and abnormal. Today it is completely normal to feel guilt when over eating
or not exercising, but if a person fails to feel guilt in these areas it is considered to
be abnormal; it is like saying that the person with no feelings of guilt

Effects of Illegal Insider Trading Essay
Insider trading is a term that most investors have heard and usually associate with
illegal conduct. But the term actually includes both legal and illegal conduct. The
legal version is when corporate insiders officers, directors, and employees buy and
sell stock in their own companies. When corporate insiders trade in their own
securities, they must report their trades to the SEC. Illegal insider tradingrefers
generally to buying or selling a security, in breach of a fiduciaryduty or other
relationship of trust and confidence, while in possession of material, nonpublic
information about the security. Insider trading violations may also include tipping
such information, securities trading by the person tipped, and securities... Show more

But, in a case like that of Enron, their stock price was enormous since it was not
evident that they were cooking their books. This would not have happened if
insider trading were legal. Investors would not have lost most of their money
investing in a firm like Enron and taking the hit when they were investigated for
insider trading and fraud. The Enron insiders would have sold their shares and the
price would have corrected itself and the disaster might have been avoided.
Investors could have allocated their money towards more promising investments,
which in turn would increase market efficiency. With legalizing insider trading,
stock prices would be more efficient with the ability to acquire more information.
Illegal trading is still common and some may say it is actually growing. This puts
law abiding investors at a disadvantage. Insider trading bans allow for some
comparable behavior. For example, if I were to work for a company and hear that
we were going to post a profit this quarter, I would not sell my shares. This could be
considered insider non trading and is currently legal, but can basically be considered
insider trading. There are plenty of loopholes in the current system. With increased
information, we might be able to smooth the volatility of the market. It will lessen
the exposure to bad information and will benefit the market s participants. Profits
being made from the information will expedite the flow of information. There is a

The Importance Of Maintaining And Manufacturing
Relationships
Maintaining and manufacturing relationships is one of the most stressful
undertakings a human can experience. Humans crave relationships no matter how
introverted; still wanting some form of companionship whether it be face to face or
through technology. The only way to have a relationship is to have communication
with others that start the stages of developing the relationship. Without
communication in some form, we could never truly have a relationship or bond with
another humanbeing; causing that craving for companionship and relationships to
never be filled and major physical and psychological damage to oneself. A common
problem in communication or even starting a relationship is that most people report
to be shy or have the fear of speaking to others fear of judgment or just anxiety takes
over.
I myself have this problem and find it extremely difficult to make or build a
relationship because of my inability to muster up to talk to others. When I was in
high school, every year on the first day of school I would sit in the back of the
class so I could avoid the converse of others and when we had to introduce
ourselves to the class I would get really nervous and stumble over my words. When
others talk to me in a public place that I don t know. I typically don t talk and try to
leave as fast as I can because I feel if I just stand there and ignore the person the
whole time they are talking to me it will be ruder than just leaving. During parties

With about 320,000 people, Iceland has only about as many inhabitants as an average
German city. Nevertheless, the island republic is among the richest nations in the
world with one of the highest living standards. Iceland is a member of the United
Nations, NATO and the European Economic Area, as well as many other international
organizations. Is the banking industry responsible for the economic disaster of
Iceland?
Until the 80 s, Iceland was a more regulated economy with many interventions by the
state. Since then, the Icelandic economy has been unbundled and increasingly
liberalized. Since 1991, many state enterprises were successfully privatized. With the
establishment of the European Economic Area between Iceland and other member ...

Iceland s economic crisis shares a common bond with those that have infected other
developed economies recently: all have banking systems heavily engaged in the
practice of maturity mismatching. In other words, Icelandic banks issued short term
liabilities in order to invest in long term assets, a practice which created funding gaps
(i.e., liabilities less assets) of a given maturity for the three largest Icelandic banks
Kaupthing, Glitnir, and Landsbanki.
Thus, the banking system had to continuously roll over (renew) their short term
liabilities until their long term assets fully matured. If an event arose whereby
Icelandic banks failed to find new borrowers to continue rolling over their liabilities,
they could face a liquidity crisis and, more importantly, spark the collapse of the
Icelandic financial system; recent events have borne out this exact scenario.
The Icelandic banking collapse resulted from two major causes: inadequate regulation
of its central bank, and the inadequate size of their cash value of their banks.
Regarding the first, the great error of the bank controller was to focus control efforts
on the fight against inflation. This created an atmosphere conducive to speculators
who had their money in Iceland, and who were attracted by the extremely high
interest rates and a
Waste Land By Muniz
I believe that yes, art can make a difference. Artists create arts to bring people
together, raise an awareness or t make a statement regarding an issue. For instance,
people would create artistic posters and such to help raise awareness to issues like
rape, or texting and driving. In the movie Waste Land, Muniz along with the workers
of the garbage landfill used recycled materials from the garbage to create amazing
portrait like artwork that represents each of the main characters in the documentary.
The materials used in the documentary is somewhat different to traditional art
materials mainly because people mostly use a canvas and paint to create portraits or
take a photograph and such. Many other artists have used recycled materials to
Allegory In A Rose For Emily
Some people love change, but others absolutely dislike it. When something big
changes in one s life, will it change who they are, or will they fight back? This short
story shows how when a person grows up relying only on one person when they
leave, it will change everything about that person. In the southern gothic story A rose
for Emily by William Faulkneruses characterization, allegory, and allusion display
the idea that the toll that death can take on one s life could be drastic.
Characterization showed the true personality of Miss Emily and how her father s
death shaped her. The many issues in this short story all started at how Miss Emily
was raised. She was raised to only rely on her father, who was very protective over
her. When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can see that this story makes a lot of indirect references in the text. I want some
poison, the best that you have. I didn t care what kind. (pg. 3) Allusion is shown
because it made it seem like she was going to commit suicide. This is evidence that
she most likely killed Homer Barron because he was poorer while her dad wasn t,
so she knew that he would never approve, which could ve cause her to kill him. This
created an allusion in her mind that it was acceptable for her to poison someone
because of what her dead father would think.
Characterization, allegory, and allusion all play a large role as to why Miss Emily
has attachment issues and is unable to move on from the past and look forward to
the future. Though there was no visible or literal rose, it did symbolize Miss Emily
and how she started out mentally healthy and then as all the major events took place,
it shows how roses fade, along with her mental health. This story is the perfect
example to not be too not let the struggles in life overcome
Speech On Federal Reserve Policy
Federal Reserve Speech Greetings and salutations to the CEO of the organization.
To help you interpret policies make by the Federal Reserve, I am here as an

disasters that have happened around the world. In October the Group of 30
International Banking had a seminar located in the nation s capital. The consultation
of the report will discuss the present status of where this country s economy is and
why the economy has been affected. This information allows us to determine the
effects to the corporation s state before and after. In the policy a specific point about
the Federal Funds Rate was made that really affected the corporation. The interest rate
at which banks and other depository institutions lend moneyto each other, usually on
an overnight basis. The law requires banks to keep a certain percentage of their
customer s money on reserve, where the banks earn no interest on it (Bankrate).
Consequently, banks try to stay as close to the reserve limit as possible without
going under it, lending money back and forth to maintain the proper level (Bankrate).
Banks hold the requirement either at the local Fed branch office or in their vaults. If
a bankis short of cash at the end of the day, it borrows from a bank with extra
money (Amadeo). The fed funds rate is what banks charge each other for overnight
loans to meet these reserve balances (Amadeo). The borrowed is known as the

The Film Letters From Iwo Jima
In the film Letters from Iwo Jima it portrays the battle between the United States
of America and Japan in World War II. The film follows Japanese soldiers at Iwo
Jima, from their preparations for the American invasion up, and until the last push
at the end of the battle. Unlike most war films directed by an American, it is from
the perspective of the enemy . A main idea of the film was to focus on the idea that
there was good and evil on both sides. And although there were different concepts
between Americans and Japanese soldiers, we are all human and share aspects in
common. Clint Eastwood, the director, draws interest from both American and
Japanese audiences by creating the film to be from the Japanese point of view. He
does this because he is an American filmmaker, which will automatically intrigue
American viewers. He draws Japanese audiences, because the film is entirely from
their point of view. Eastwood even uses real Japanese actors instead of Asian
American actors. This creates a more authentic feel, because they were speaking in
their own language. The film is also entirely in Japanese with English subtitles.
Eastwood discards many Hollywood stereotypes that are commonly used on
American and Japanese soldiers. He draws from real life events to convey a real
and dramatic relationship between the two sides. The film was given many positive
reviews, and was noted as being one of the best films of 2006. It still received mixed
emotions from both Americans and
Old Oratorio New Contemporary Christian Music
Old Oratorio New Contemporary Christian Music
Music has always been very important to religion, and the music has always been
changing. At the beginning, the music told a story of a biblical event. The current
day music tells a story about life and how Jesus Christ can fix the problem because
he is all powerful. Oratorio is one example of older religion music. The current type
of religion music is called Contemporary Christian music. There is a lot of different
types between these two. Oratorio and Contemporary music differs a lot; however,
they both speak about the perfect Jesus Christ, but that is about all they have in
commons. Oratorio music was very sacred music in its time. It was very sacred;
however, it was not played during church. They were played more for concerts.
Oratorio had three different parts that was in every piece. Those three parts would
consist of a choir, soloist, and orchestra. Every piece comes from a biblical story.
The most famous composer from the Baroque ere, the era that oratorio was played,
was George Frideric Handel. A few of his most famous pieces came from the
subjects, Israel in Egypt, Jephtha, Judas, Saul, and Messiah (Baily 169).
Contemporary Christian music is the complete opposite of Oratorio music.
Contemporary music consist of stories about having a relationship with Jesus Christ,
biblical inerrancy, and spreading Gods holy word. They take the form of hard rock,
dance pop, and hip hop (Lindenbaum 70). Femi Adedeji wrote a paper

back to life. This comes in handy because when she kills the enemy s troops, she
can bring them back to life and have them under her control. This is similar to what
Arthas did with the Scourge, so it s a little ironic. She is also extremely powerful,

Treatment For Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia
ABSTRACT
Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia is a chronic medical condition with a wide variety of
clinical presentations making it, sometimes, very insidious at the time of the
diagnosis. Several therapeutic options including, pharmacotherapy, cardiac
rehabilitation and modification or ablation of the sinus node have been proposed for
the management of Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia. But due to the complexity and
not well understood pathophysiology, it can be difficult to manage despite the
numerous treatment options currently available. The purpose of this review is to

The clinical presentation of patients with IST can vary due to the diversity of its
multiple symptoms including: intermittent palpitations, dyspnea, dizziness,
lightheadedness, pre syncope, syncope, chest pain, myalgia, and fatigue. [12]
Associated psychological and emotional problems can also be seen, but no
relationship with IST has been identified. [8]
Using a criteria of a resting heart rate 100 bpm and an average heart rate of 90 bpm
on 24 hour Holter monitoring, Still et al., estimated the prevalence of IST in a
middle aged population of men and women. The IST prevalence was 1.2% (7 of 604
patients) [2], including both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. IST has also
been reported in older population. [5] Although, IST is believed to be a chronic
condition, long term complications are few. IST has been associated with tachycardia
induced cardiomyopathy in isolated cases [6][7] and no mortality has been yet

IST is a medical entity that should be diagnosed by exclusion, medical history and

causes of sinus tachycardia, thus, thyroid disease, medications, hypovolemia, panic
attacks, anxiety and substance abuse should be ruled out. A 12 lead EKG is useful

A Research Study On Synthetic Biology
2.1Fundamental research
Synthetic biology has a lot to offer in fundamental research. Starting from the most
well characterised laboratory organism, E.coli, we are still in half way from full
knowledge of understanding the function of all its genes as the functions of 20% of
them are still to be identified (Keseler et al., 2011). Moreover there are many more
other microorganisms with great importance which are even less well understood.
Synthetic biology provides the ability to make specific modifications to the genome
of a model organism and to use this as a tool to study and understand the
fundamental biological processes of microorganisms, plants and animals and apply
this knowledge to create novel products. One of the major application is that these
findings will expand the biological repertoire available for the designing of new
genetic pathways, proteins and cells to manipulate biological reactions that normally
occur. The current ambition is to create a database of shared standardised parts that
will be used to manipulate DNA. An example is the BioBricks Foundation which
provides open access to DNA sequences for cloning and expression of different
nucleic acids and proteins. The information that BioBricks provides, is shared
through iGEM the annual international competition to students from across the world
who want to do research and give solutions to real world problems, such as
environmental pollution. (Synthetic Biology: opportunities for Scotland, 2014)

The Organizational Of Symmetry Financial
This analysis is of the organizational of Symmetry Financial. This essay will discuss
the attitudes, leadership, managerial policies, and practices used by them. By using
this data, I will provide a list of recommendations on how to improve the company.
This analysis will describe the culture, nature of the company, motivational
techniques, mores of communication used, and the emotional intelligence. I will
provide information about the company to ensure the readers understand all of the
different categories used to analyze the company. I will provide information on how
individuals, and groups of people behave within the organization. I will be evaluating
their leadership techniques and how the owners assist in the day to day running of
the business.
One of the most important things a business needs to be successful is happy
employees. It is important for employees and managers have an established plan to
deal with critical matters. They must study the behavior of their employees to decide
how they will achieve their desired goals. Organizational behavior is the study of
human behavior in organizational settings, the interface between human behavior and
the organization, and the organization itself. We can divide organizational behavior
into 3 separate categories. The first one is the individuals within the organization.
The second is the work group which is made by pacing workers into specific groups.
The last one is how the organization itself behaves.
Variation and Its Causes
Variation The divergence in a set of numbers in a given data range is referred to as
variation. It has common measures including variance, standard deviation and inter
quartile range that are used in measuring variation among a set of data. Causes of
variation In research data analysis, evidence suggests that the main cause of data
variation is measurement error, especially f the instruments used are not
guaranteed to provide accurate results (Jianqing, 1991). Nonetheless, chances of
errors may occur during data interpretation, recording and, or when reporting the
results. These are accredited to false assumptions that the measured quantity is
stable and that the variation are based on observational errors. Patterns of Variation
There are various patterns representative of variation. However, a bell shaped
curve is the most widely used variation pattern and is considered the normal curve.
In this curve, the highest point is indicative of the most probable occurrence. The
other curve pattern is bi modal curve, which is dual peaked. This pattern easily
identifies a process with a special cause of variation and, which has undergone
some changes. Variation pattern can also take the form of a skewed curve that
resembles a normal curve forced to lie on its sides. This is primarily a representation
of data that is not identical on both sides. Understanding Variation Variation is all
around people. There are variations in the ability to undertake functions; ways of

The Life of Marilyn Manson
In Canton, Ohio on January 5,1969 Brian Hugh Warner was born. His parents being
Hugh and Barb Warner. Brain was raised in a Catholic home. The main kickstarter to
his rebellious attitude had come from being molested by his neighbor, brain had used
his rebellion to try and forget the trama of what had happened to him.
Soon after he was expelled from his private Christan school in Canton, his family was
forced to move to Fort Lauderdale, FL. After graduating high school, Brian attended

The Pros And Cons Of The United States
The united states of america. The government consists of : presidential system ,
federal republic , constitutional republic liberal democracy. The country s
effectiveness of government comes a lot from is it working? The kind of government
is it working for us. For instance, is the government functioning right and how is the
economy under the government. What are some glows about the united statesand

things united states can do to better the country. Do you believe in government BY
THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE, AND OF THE PEOPLE ? Some americans
may agree with this and say that they don t believe in this.Even in the modern
United States many skeptics criticize government as being controlled by greedy,
corrupt people who are only interested in lining their own pockets. If we look to the
past for an answer from our history of asking if the government is actually by the
people, for the people and of the people and , we find comments like these: Behold

Our government is a democracy, democracy, in other words, the people. There were
founders that thought democracy wasn t a good idea. The term democracy comes
from two Greek words: demos (the people) and keratin . So of course
DEMOCRACY is a form of government that gives power to the people. But how,
when, and to which people? The answer to those questions changes through history.
To talk more about the history of democracy the Greeks would practice direct
democracy a system in which votes are taken , and then make decisions by majority
rule. Unfortunately, only free males were considered to be citizens. Democracy was
limited at the time only to the male since at the time women were being
Comparing Mending Wall And Tear Down This Wall By
Ronald...
Some walls aren t only physical, but there are ones that are inside of us. The
Mending Wall by Robert Frost and Tear Down This Wall by Ronald Reagan are
brilliant examples of how, not only nature, but humans as well do not like walls.
Walls form separation, and they also affect people, countries, and civilizations. The
theme of separation is evident in Mending Wall and Tear Down This Wall. Robert
Frost explains how nature tears down a wall they build every year because even
nature doesn t like the idea of segregation. Reagan demonstrates his disbelief in walls
by going to Berlin and rallying the people to tear down the scar of a wall. Not only
do walls form separation, they also effect people. As well as separating people
Goblin Market Feminist
Throughout Goblin Market by Christina Rossetti, feminism plays a factor because
Lizzie acts as a Christ figure and the goblin men try to control the women using
their fruits. In the poem Goblin Market, Lizzie essentially acts like Christ. She
helps her sister after Laura takes the fruit from the goblins even after Lizzie told
her to not even look at them. Lizzie goes to the goblins to try to figure out a way to
help her sister. She wants to do whatever she can which Christ did while he was on
earth. When he died on the cross, he forgave everyone of their sins. Lizzie goes to
forgive Laura of her sins by going to ask the goblinmen how to cure Laura. Held her
hands and squeezed their fruits/ Against her mouth to make her eat (406 407). Similar

The goblin men are trying to control the two girls by using their fruits and singing.
The customary cry,/ Come buy, come buy (231 232). Rossetti shows how the
goblin men are drawing in the women and essentially controlling them. This
exhibits what feminism is against because they believe women should be
independent. Feminism is present in many ways throughout the poem. It is shown
again when Rossetti says, Maids heard the goblin cry (2). Rossetti suggests that
women have challenges and obstacles that men aren t familiar with. Men usually
disregard feminism in today s world because they don t think feminism is a real
movement, but Rossetti says that men have no idea what women go through and
how hard it can be sometimes. The goblin men have fruits that they try to lure
women in with how luscious and elegant they look. The fruits represent societal
issues on drugs. The goblin men are people who have already succumbed to the
pressures of drugs. Laura and Lizzie represent people who are fighting to stay on
the clean side. Once Laura goes and buys their fruit she has converted over to the
drug side. Lizzie goes to and goblin men to figure out how to cure her sister. Rossetti
says, hug me, kiss me, suck my juices (468). Lizzie does everything she can to help

Character Analysis Of King Kong
King Kong is exciting screenplay that does a great job at demonstrating what the
characters are feeling. When the writers wanted to illustrate fear, they do so by
painting an image terror, and makes it relatable. By making a scene relatable, it helps
with the understanding of the character s motives, and gives insight to the kind of
person that character is. By having a complex villain such as King Kong, one battles
the urge to root for Kong, as well as wanting him to ceased. While writers do an
overall great job with the development of the characters, where they lacks is in love
story between Darrow and Driscoll. By not successfully developing the relationship
between Darrow and Driscoll in the beginning, love between the two feels rushed,
which therefore makes it challenging to care about their relationship. Overall King
Kong is a well written screenplay, that shows does a great job at showing what the
characters are feeling throughout.
Where the writers of the screenplay succeed is in illustrating the emotion that the
character is feeling at that moment. If one does not do this successfully, it makes it
hard to invest in the characters, and understand the situation of the scene. An
example of this is when Carl and the ship crew approach Skull Island. As they are
approaching the undiscovered island, the writers describe this thick fog that the
characters enter (47). By doing this, the writers demonstrates imagery to describe
the dark and eerie place. As the characters are unable to see through the fog, they
start to become afraid, as they fear of the unknown. An example of this being
expressed is when one of the ship crew members Hayes yells captain, you don t know
where the hell you re going (49)! Panic and terror possess the characters, and the
writers do a great of showing it.
The writers do a great job with the development of King Kong and making him a
complex character. At first, King Kong appears to be the stereotypical monster
/villain that only kills and destroys, but later in the story, King Kong shows a
different side of him that a character such as himself usually does not display. A
moment where the complexity of King Kong s character is shown is when Ann and
Kong have their first real
John Burgoyne s Defeat At The Battle Of Saratoga
While British general John Burgoyne was nicknamed Gentleman Johnny due to his
adoration for leisure and fashion, history remembered him for the British loss at
the Battle of Saratoga. Being an experienced general who have served in various
combats, Burgoyne s over confidence of himself and his plan to conquer the
Hudson River Valley contributed to the defeat at the Battle of Saratoga. It became a
noteworthy and defining moment in the war as it gave the Americans certainty and
French alliance. First of all, Burgoyne s early life and career was embedded with
comfort and fame which created arrogance within him. Born on January 11, 1722 in
London, Burgoyne was raised in an upper class family where his parents provided
him with an education at... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the first weeks of the march, Burgoyne confronted numerous genuine
difficulties. Altogether under prepared, his armed force lacked necessities. On the
other hand, the Canadian militias immediately abandoned the army and Burgoyne
struggled to organize Britain s Indian allies. In addition, transportation difficulties
obstructed the armed force s progress. Despite difficulties, Burgoyne thrived on the
war zone. On July 6, his armed force caught Fort Ticonderoga, managing a
noteworthy blow to American morale. The next day, Burgoyne accomplished
another triumph over the Americans at Hubbardton. By early August, however,
Burgoyne s favorable luck ran out. As opposed to the expectations of the British
War Office, loyalists did not turn out in strength to bolster St. Leger. Buried in a
twenty one day attack of Fort Stanwix, St. Leger was compelled to withdraw into
Canada. In New York, Howe ruled against meeting Burgoyne at Albany for moving
into Pennsylvania to stand up to General George Washington s armed force.
Burgoyne did not hear about Howe s decision until it was past the point of no
return. Impeded by American endeavors to obstruct roads, Burgoyne s armed force
eased back to a creep as it moved toward Saratoga, where 12,000 Americans under

Asian Community in Modern Day Media
Did you ever really notice how Asians are really been portrayed within modern day
media? As a fellow Asian American. I have noticed that the media displays the
Asian community in only one way, the foreign genius who excels everything, like
kung fu and math. You never really ever get to see a main character, who is a
independent, courageous Asian that doesn t know kung fu , in any movie or TV
shows. Many actors in modern day media prove these stereotypes to be true such as;
beloved actor Ken Jeong, Jackie Chan, James Hong, Lucy Liu, and John Cho. First
off, to help prove my point is ,America s favorite comedic actor, Ken Jeong. You
never see Ken Jeong ever play as a main characterof any movie. Ken Jeong usually
plays as the random minor roll foriegn asian guy who is there to make people
laugh. Think about it, in The Hangover Ken plays a foreign asian mobster, in
Community Ken plays a know it all Korean spanish teacher, even in Knocked up
he stereotypes the Asian job as a doctor that got there because he is Asian. Ken is
only the first person amongst the multiple examples. Secondly, Jackie Chan is
another actor in which they only play a stereotyped Asian. Sure Jackie Chan play
as the main character in a lot of movies, but is stereotyped a lot. In many of his
movies he has a particular Asian accent and knows kung fu that is mocked a lot. In
movies like; Rush Hour Jackie Chan plays a cop who somehow knows kung fu and
every time he says Carter it sounds like he says
The Role Of The Patriots During The Revolutionary War
The role the Patriots played in the revolutionary war.
The revolutionary era refers to the uprising of the common people against authority
in the late 1700s. Great Britain ruled the American colonies for several years since
1607. The American Revolution came as a need from the American people for
independence from Great Britain. This need for independence was stirred up by the
enactment of the Stamp Act in American colonies by the British. American colonies
were congenial to liberty and independence due to religion and other factors. The
American people reacted to the stamp act with public resistance in the colonies.
Therefore, the American revolutionary war was the result of the refusal to pay taxes,
imposed on the colonists by British ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The stamp act was considered taxation without representation of the colonies in the
British Parliament. It was put down as a threat to the freedom of the American
people. People began violently rebelling against the British. These oppositions grew
and spread throughout the colonies.
The revolutionary movement divided the colonies into Patriots and Loyalists.
Loyalists were colonists loyal to the British, while the Patriots were in support of the
American Revolution. The Patriots began boycotting goods imported from Great
Britain, and substituting them with homemade goods and cheap inferior goods. The
merchants in the colonies were frustrated and could not sell their goods. Both Britain
and the merchants lost profits due to this change. The importation of British goods
was later banned in the American colonies. Merchants were being forced to sign
documents denying the importation of British goods. Merchants whom refused to
sign these documents were sent to the gallows to be tarred and feathered.
Additionally, Loyalists were coerced by the patriots into supporting the American
Revolution or they would be lynched in the gallows. Some loyalists who refused ran
away with their families to Great Britain for fear of being killed. Such actions of
people in the colonies frustrated the British and led to the Revolutionary war.
The American Revolution began in 1775 and continued until 1783. The war started in
the north. The British amounted support from Germany,
Bend It Like Beckham Stereotypes
In the film, Bend It Like Beckham, the main character, Jess Bhamra, breaks racial
and gender stereotypes. She is passionate about football, much to her traditional
Sikh family s dismay. She feels trapped between her parents more traditional
beliefs and her modern values. Throughout the film, we see Jess challenge
expectations and find a balance between her two worlds. Both Jules and Jess
families did not initially approve of their daughters playing football. They
considered it a man s sport. They assume girls should be interested in traditionally
feminine activities. Jules mother wanted her to dress nice and find a boyfriend. Jess
mother wanted her to be a proper Indian woman. They feel that football is
inappropriate for a girl to play. They are concerned with their image, how they appear

expected to behave the way her mother tells her to. Being immersed in British

because to them, that is not how a proper young woman behaves. Jules has similar

Karl Marx And Frederick Engels Manifesto Of The
Communist...
Karl Marx and Frederick Engels wrote Manifesto of the Communist Party in 1848
in Brussels. This document was primarily focused on political propaganda that
correlated with two classes of society. It was written during a time of Communism
and social change (Marx, 1). The history of all hitherto existing society is the
history of class struggles (Marx, 2). I believe this statement is saying that class
struggles are the reason society has developed to its current state. Marx and Engels s
primary reasoning for this document is to unveil these class struggles within society.
Society is split between two classes: Bourgeoisie and Proletariat (Marx, 2).
Bourgeoisie is the middle class, and Proletariat is the working class within society.

Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber Analysis
In human history, the qualities of man have not changed drastically, but something
changed recently. The women have earned more and more power, which is a threat
for the men, and society has changed for the worse. In his story The Short, Happy
Life of Francis Macomber, Ernest Hemingway uses setting and characterization to
address the attributes of a real man. The author uses the primitive and free rule
Kenya to show some real man s characteristics. In this primitive land, only the
strongest are able to survive. For example, the lion is known as the king of the
jungle because he does not have any other animal that can oppose him; on the other
hand, a weak antelope is doomed to die and be the food of the strong. In addition, in

Fading in as I slowly regain consciousness, I peek at my surroundings and observe
many of children and adults wearing the same look, the look of terror and fear
directed at myself. I begin to feel the matted carpet beneath me and the stiff, school

loud ambulance siren assaults my ears as the seizure finally resolves and I begin to
see the interior of the ambulance. Experiencing darkness, illumination and everything
in between, this constant feeling of consciousness created holes in my memories,
awareness of time, and language delays. I required intensive sessions of speech

The TRACE Model
The TRACE model accounts for WF effects as studies have found that participants
gaze at words presented prior and after LF words for a longer duration than the
words surrounding the HF words (Rayner Duffy, 1986). Thus, as the model
encompasses top down and bottom up processing (McClelland Elman, 1986),
quicker responses may be induced for HF words, as when individuals read LF
words they may analyse surrounding words to assess the context of the text, which
consequently slows them down. Whereas, this process is not necessarily required for
HF words, due to the familiarity of the context the words are used in.
Furthermore, the TRACE model accounts for WS effects as exemplified by Williams
and Gaffney (1985) as eight participants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the model s flexibility and universality allows a greater applicability to these
effects and variations, such as developmental disorders that can impact them.
accurately in a string of letters when presented in an actual word, compared to a non
word or a single isolated letter (Baron, 2014). Thus, as both models only incorporate
bottom up processing, which is more useful when processing individual letters
(Starrfelt, Petersen, Vangkilde, 2013), they cannot account for WS as it would be
difficult to efficiently detect letters within words.
However, the TRACE model by McClelland and Elman (1986) accounts for both
effects as it is an interactive processing model whereby visual and auditory inputs are
interpreted by their features, before progressing to either the letter or phenome level
and subsequently advancing to the word level to retrieve suitable candidates, as
shown in Figure 2.
The Logogen model accounts for word frequency (WF) effects, which is based on the
premise that high frequency (HF) words are used more regularly so they are easier to
recognise than low frequency (LF) words that are used scarcely (Murrell Morton,
1974). Rayner and Duffy (1986) illustrate this as participants fixated and gazed
longer at LF words compared to HF words, potentially as infrequent words are not
easily accessed within the lexicon. Consequently, as a Logogen has to reach a
specific threshold to be activated, HF words are stimulated quicker than LF

  • 1. Prayer In School Essay Composing an essay on the subject of prayer in schools poses a considerable challenge due to the multifaceted nature of the topic. The issue of prayer in educational institutions is a deeply rooted and controversial subject, intertwining aspects of religion, constitutional rights, and societal values. Addressing the various perspectives surrounding this matter demands a delicate balance, as the writer must navigate through diverse opinions and potentially conflicting ideologies. One of the primary complexities lies in maintaining objectivity while discussing a topic that often elicits strong emotional responses. The writer must tread carefully to avoid favoring one viewpoint over another and should strive to present a comprehensive overview of the historical, legal, and cultural dimensions associated with prayer in schools. Furthermore, the task involves rigorous research to delve into the historical context of prayer in educational settings, examining pivotal court cases, legislative developments, and public sentiments. Analyzing the constitutional implications and the separation of church and state adds another layer of intricacy to the essay. Crafting a coherent narrative while accommodating a wide array of perspectives, from those advocating for the freedom of religious expression to those concerned about potential violations of the Establishment Clause, requires finesse in argumentation. Rebecca is a beautiful, haunting, gripping tale of love, hate and deceit told in the simplest and most endearing manner by Daphne Du Maurier. Du Maurier weaves a beautiful web of mystery that holds you captive until the very end of the novel. We readers feel the anxiety, apprehension and fear that the protagonist describes and together we move through each chapter with an anxiety that only ends with the end of the novel itself. I think du Maurier s greatest accomplishment in this book, character wise, is the way she develops Rebecca, who is already dead when the main action of the ... They fall in love and marry in haste arriving at Manderly eight months after Rebecca s death. Shy, vulnerable and in total awe of Manderly, Manderly s new mistress is everything that Rebecca wasn t. She falls an easy prey to Rebecca s faithful servant Mrs. Danvers who with her hollow eyes and parchment white face is a constant reminder that Rebecca shades all...even, Max s love for her. Her days at Manderly are filled with apprehension and anxiety. Rebecca s shadow looms large over her, her presence fills the house kept alive by Mrs. Danvers who, she finds to her horror, preserves Rebecca s room just as it was the night before her drowning accident. She is scared and intimidated by Mrs. Danvers whose love and allegiance to her dead mistress is unsettling to both her and us readers. The story revolves around the unusual marriage of the young, unworldly narrator (whose first name is never revealed, one of the book s charming idiosyncrasies) to the brooding landed gentleman, Maxim de Winter. When she arrives at his grand country manor, Manderly (the house is perhaps the book s most potent character), she is immediately confronted

It was pity, but it was more than that. It was a hurt love that seemed to include entirely the hurt man. It included him and disregarded everything else. It disregarded the aura of whiskey that ordinarily she would have resented; it disregarded the blood puddled on the porch floor and the trail of blood through the hall. These lines are some of the most important lines about the mother. This explains exactly what kind of person she is. This explains how caring she is and how she just ignores the aura of whiskey and gives all her love to the hurt man, even though he is a complete stranger. The Hunger Games An ancient foundational story and a modern story that have some similarities are Theseus and the Minotaur and The Hunger Games. Both have a storyline where one person volunteers to protect someone else and prepare to take on a difficult challenge that could end up being fatal in the end. In the story between Theseus and the Minotaur, King Minos requested that seven boys and seven girls come to Crete from Athens every nine years so his son the Minotaur could feast (Gods, Heroes and Monsters, 4.11.). The Minotaur lived in the center of a very tricky maze called the labyrinth. Theseus didn t like the idea of sending young children to Crete so he volunteered to go himself and defeat the Minotaur. Theseus says to his father When it is time to send the next tribute, I will go as one of them and I vow that it is the last time the Minotaur will be fed with the flesh of any of our people (Myths and Legends, 2006) . The bravery Theseus had to save his people is part of the reason why he is considered a mythological hero. He volunteered himself to defeat the creature not knowing if he was going to make it himself. He was confident and wise but the maze was confusing and anyone who goes in doesn t necessary come back out. King Minos wasn t worried because if he were to defeat his son, he wouldn t find his way back out. In The Hunger Games, there are twelve districts. Small towns are generally attributed to communal characteristics where citizens help and protect one another; however, the events that unraveled in these two cases generated a shock factor to the neighboring towns as it exemplified the power of rumor and the overall naivety of the inhabitants of the two towns. These case studies are also reflections of how the most civilized of societies are able to resort to barbaric actions through mere hearsay and allow their prejudices to shape their perception. This paper will examine the dynamics of the crowd, the explanation for the unfolding events and the ways in which both authors reach their conclusions of the unraveling of these events. The particular unfolding of events in both case studies of the historical accounts of violence which occurs in these two small towns is explained through the notion of rumor as a news source. Nevertheless, the island republic is among the richest nations in the world with one of the highest living standards. Iceland is a member of the United Nations, NATO and the European Economic Area, as well as many other international organizations. Is the banking industry responsible for the economic disaster of Iceland? Until the 80 s, Iceland was a more regulated economy with many interventions by the state. Since then, the Icelandic economy has been unbundled and increasingly liberalized. Since 1991, many state enterprises were successfully privatized. With the establishment of the European Economic Area between Iceland and other member ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Iceland s economic crisis shares a common bond with those that have infected other developed economies recently: all have banking systems heavily engaged in the practice of maturity mismatching. In other words, Icelandic banks issued short term liabilities in order to invest in long term assets, a practice which created funding gaps (i.e., liabilities less assets) of a given maturity for the three largest Icelandic banks Kaupthing, Glitnir, and Landsbanki. Thus, the banking system had to continuously roll over (renew) their short term liabilities until their long term assets fully matured. If an event arose whereby Icelandic banks failed to find new borrowers to continue rolling over their liabilities, they could face a liquidity crisis and, more importantly, spark the collapse of the Icelandic financial system; recent events have borne out this exact scenario. The Icelandic banking collapse resulted from two major causes: inadequate regulation of its central bank, and the inadequate size of their cash value of their banks. Regarding the first, the great error of the bank controller was to focus control efforts on the fight against inflation. This created an atmosphere conducive to speculators who had their money in Iceland, and who were attracted by the extremely high interest rates and a

This short story shows how when a person grows up relying only on one person when they leave, it will change everything about that person. In the southern gothic story A rose for Emily by William Faulkneruses characterization, allegory, and allusion display the idea that the toll that death can take on one s life could be drastic. Characterization showed the true personality of Miss Emily and how her father s death shaped her. The many issues in this short story all started at how Miss Emily was raised. Though there was no visible or literal rose, it did symbolize Miss Emily and how she started out mentally healthy and then as all the major events took place, it shows how roses fade, along with her mental health. The film follows Japanese soldiers at Iwo Jima, from their preparations for the American invasion up, and until the last push at the end of the battle. Unlike most war films directed by an American, it is from the perspective of the enemy . A main idea of the film was to focus on the idea that there was good and evil on both sides. And although there were different concepts between Americans and Japanese soldiers, we are all human and share aspects in common. Clint Eastwood, the director, draws interest from both American and Japanese audiences by creating the film to be from the Japanese point of view. He does this because he is an American filmmaker, which will automatically intrigue American viewers. He draws Japanese audiences, because the film is entirely from their point of view. Eastwood even uses real Japanese actors instead of Asian American actors. This creates a more authentic feel, because they were speaking in their own language. The film is also entirely in Japanese with English subtitles. Eastwood discards many Hollywood stereotypes that are commonly used on American and Japanese soldiers. At the beginning, the music told a story of a biblical event. The current day music tells a story about life and how Jesus Christ can fix the problem because he is all powerful. Oratorio is one example of older religion music. The current type of religion music is called Contemporary Christian music. There is a lot of different types between these two. Oratorio and Contemporary music differs a lot; however, they both speak about the perfect Jesus Christ, but that is about all they have in commons. Oratorio music was very sacred music in its time. It was very sacred; however, it was not played during church. They were played more for concerts. Oratorio had three different parts that was in every piece. Those three parts would consist of a choir, soloist, and orchestra. Every piece comes from a biblical story. The most famous composer from the Baroque ere, the era that oratorio was played, was George Frideric Handel. A few of his most famous pieces came from the subjects, Israel in Egypt, Jephtha, Judas, Saul, and Messiah (Baily 169). Contemporary Christian music is the complete opposite of Oratorio music. Contemporary music consist of stories about having a relationship with Jesus Christ, biblical inerrancy, and spreading Gods holy word. They take the form of hard rock, dance pop, and hip hop (Lindenbaum 70). Femi Adedeji wrote a paper

Starting from the most well characterised laboratory organism, E.coli, we are still in half way from full knowledge of understanding the function of all its genes as the functions of 20% of them are still to be identified (Keseler et al., 2011). Moreover there are many more other microorganisms with great importance which are even less well understood. Synthetic biology provides the ability to make specific modifications to the genome of a model organism and to use this as a tool to study and understand the fundamental biological processes of microorganisms, plants and animals and apply this knowledge to create novel products. One of the major application is that these findings will expand the biological repertoire available for the designing of new genetic pathways, proteins and cells to manipulate biological reactions that normally occur. The current ambition is to create a database of shared standardised parts that will be used to manipulate DNA. An example is the BioBricks Foundation which provides open access to DNA sequences for cloning and expression of different nucleic acids and proteins. The information that BioBricks provides, is shared through iGEM the annual international competition to students from across the world who want to do research and give solutions to real world problems, such as environmental pollution. It has common measures including variance, standard deviation and inter quartile range that are used in measuring variation among a set of data. Causes of variation In research data analysis, evidence suggests that the main cause of data variation is measurement error, especially f the instruments used are not guaranteed to provide accurate results (Jianqing, 1991). Nonetheless, chances of errors may occur during data interpretation, recording and, or when reporting the results. These are accredited to false assumptions that the measured quantity is stable and that the variation are based on observational errors. Patterns of Variation There are various patterns representative of variation. However, a bell shaped curve is the most widely used variation pattern and is considered the normal curve. Overall King Kong is a well written screenplay, that shows does a great job at showing what the characters are feeling throughout. Where the writers of the screenplay succeed is in illustrating the emotion that the character is feeling at that moment. If one does not do this successfully, it makes it hard to invest in the characters, and understand the situation of the scene. An example of this is when Carl and the ship crew approach Skull Island. As they are approaching the undiscovered island, the writers describe this thick fog that the characters enter (47). By doing this, the writers demonstrates imagery to describe the dark and eerie place. As the characters are unable to see through the fog, they start to become afraid, as they fear of the unknown. • 52. Karl Marx And Frederick Engels Manifesto Of The Communist... Karl Marx and Frederick Engels wrote Manifesto of the Communist Party in 1848 in Brussels. This document was primarily focused on political propaganda that correlated with two classes of society. It was written during a time of Communism and social change (Marx, 1). The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles (Marx, 2). I believe this statement is saying that class struggles are the reason society has developed to its current state. Marx and Engels s primary reasoning for this document is to unveil these class struggles within society. Society is split between two classes: Bourgeoisie and Proletariat (Marx, 2). Bourgeoisie is the middle class, and Proletariat is the working class within society. The proletariat
  • 53. Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber Analysis In human history, the qualities of man have not changed drastically, but something changed recently. The women have earned more and more power, which is a threat for the men, and society has changed for the worse. In his story The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber, Ernest Hemingway uses setting and characterization to address the attributes of a real man. The author uses the primitive and free rule Kenya to show some real man s characteristics. In this primitive land, only the strongest are able to survive. For example, the lion is known as the king of the jungle because he does not have any other animal that can oppose him; on the other hand, a weak antelope is doomed to die and be the food of the strong. In addition, in this primitive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 54. Audiology Personal Statement Fading in as I slowly regain consciousness, I peek at my surroundings and observe many of children and adults wearing the same look, the look of terror and fear directed at myself. I begin to feel the matted carpet beneath me and the stiff, school lost and found box I am propped up against, as I slowly begin to fade out again. A loud ambulance siren assaults my ears as the seizure finally resolves and I begin to see the interior of the ambulance. Experiencing darkness, illumination and everything in between, this constant feeling of consciousness created holes in my memories, awareness of time, and language delays. I required intensive sessions of speech language therapy during and after school, multiple times a week which was my first introduction to the world of speech and hearing sciences. Both of my parents are physicians and my grandfather dedicated his academic life to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I began working in the psychoacoustics lab that focused on Aircraft detection throughout my sophomore year. During my junior year, I began researching studies regarding noise mapping through independent studies. Following my independent studies, I am beginning to work on a project where hearing losses are simulated in normal hearing individuals where I will perform full audiological evaluations on the participants. However, my dedication and interest in the field was not always as clear cut. In addition to research pursuits, I began shadowing different audiology career environments. Shadowing at Nationwide Children s Hospital sparked my interest in pediatric audiology. This lead me to begin working as an applied behavioral therapist aide, where I worked with autistic individuals whose ages ranged from five to twenty one years old. Moreover, I became involved in IEPS, which lead me to attend the Ohio School Speech Pathology and Educational Audiology Coalition
  • 55. The TRACE Model The TRACE model accounts for WF effects as studies have found that participants gaze at words presented prior and after LF words for a longer duration than the words surrounding the HF words (Rayner Duffy, 1986). Thus, as the model encompasses top down and bottom up processing (McClelland Elman, 1986), quicker responses may be induced for HF words, as when individuals read LF words they may analyse surrounding words to assess the context of the text, which consequently slows them down. Whereas, this process is not necessarily required for HF words, due to the familiarity of the context the words are used in. Furthermore, the TRACE model accounts for WS effects as exemplified by Williams and Gaffney (1985) as eight participants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, the model s flexibility and universality allows a greater applicability to these effects and variations, such as developmental disorders that can impact them. accurately in a string of letters when presented in an actual word, compared to a non word or a single isolated letter (Baron, 2014). Thus, as both models only incorporate bottom up processing, which is more useful when processing individual letters (Starrfelt, Petersen, Vangkilde, 2013), they cannot account for WS as it would be difficult to efficiently detect letters within words. However, the TRACE model by McClelland and Elman (1986) accounts for both effects as it is an interactive processing model whereby visual and auditory inputs are interpreted by their features, before progressing to either the letter or phenome level and subsequently advancing to the word level to retrieve suitable candidates, as shown in Figure 2. The Logogen model accounts for word frequency (WF) effects, which is based on the premise that high frequency (HF) words are used more regularly so they are easier to recognise than low frequency (LF) words that are used scarcely (Murrell Morton, 1974). Rayner and Duffy (1986) illustrate this as participants fixated and gazed longer at LF words compared to HF words, potentially as infrequent words are not easily accessed within the lexicon. Consequently, as a Logogen has to reach a specific threshold to be activated, HF words are stimulated quicker than LF
