Essay on Why the Design Argument Fails
Why the Design Argument Fails The Design Argument does fail due to its weaknesses, it is lacking in
factual and substantial evidence to prove its theories. It puts forward a lot of ideas and claims however
they are not justified well enough; the only true fact is that you have to believe them. I feel it is correct
to claim that it fails due to the amount of criticising evidence against the theories for the existence of
God.
The main philosopher to criticise and object to the Teleogical Argument was David Hume. He looked
at every point towards the existence towards a creator and designer and then thought logically about
the condemnation and came up with rebuttals. He realised that ... Show more content on

He then compares a watch against a floating vegetable. A clock to a large organic mass is not possible
to compare. It would be better to compare it to an immense floating object. He is stating how absurd it
is that a small simple item could be linked to such a powerful designer. You cannot link a watch
towards something, which is a far more superior, and multitasking being. Like many of these
assumptions they are lacking concrete evidence to prove it, it is just a theory and therefore weakens
the argument towards the existence of a creator.
Another protestation, which Hume makes, is the difference between the world at present and the world
at birth. He asks how we can link what was then from what we see now, the time difference is too
great and too big of an assumption. When we link the dinosaurs and try to analysis their life and habits
we can only learn from what we have. Then we tend to assume what time period they lived and who
hunted whom. Once again there is no real evidence to prove where or when they existed and this is
just like the creator theories. We assume and try to link things together from what we have without
looking at all the evidence and waiting for 100% accurate facts. So we just predict and say it is the
way forward. However this is incorrect and therefore false to state this. Yet many Philopshers tend to
say that it is

Harry Hopkins And The New Deal
Harry Hopkins was one of the many of the social workers who have changed the United States.
Hopkins went to New York to become a social worker where he resided there for twenty years and
accomplished to help Americans. After the great depression the United States was in a very bad
situation where many people seeked hope. This left Americans homeless, jobless, and hopeless. Harry
Hopkins alongside president Franklin D. Roosevelt was appointed to take part of The New Deal,
which provided many relief programs to bring Americans out of their economic burden. The New
Deal consisted of the 3 Rs which are relief, recovery, and reform. Relief were immediate actions taken
to recuperate the economic decline. Recovery consisted of temporary programs to initiate consumer
demands. However, the United States needed a steady and permanent change which was Reform, the
creation of permanent programs in order to prevent another great depression to take place, which
Hopkins was a part of.
Harry Hopkins was born in Iowa on 1980. Hopkins grew up in the midwestern with their values of self
reliance and thrift. Which is using money in a reliable manner. He studied in Iowa until his graduation

John Brown And The Abolition Movement
also the value of non violent resistance supported by the transcendentalists and, There were many
prominent figures in the Abolition movement that made great strides to freedom. Most took the route
of political campaigning, but a few decided to take a more direct approach. One said individual is John
Brown. John Brown was a white abolitionist born in Connecticut who simply grew tired of the pacifist
approach and took up arms with a few volunteers against slavery. Brown was born the son of Owen
Brown, a tanner, in the town of Torrington, Connecticut. The Browns were conventional evangelicals,
and John went to school in Massachusetts to become a Congregationalist minister. Unfortunately he
ran out of money and returned to his family and opened his own tannery with his brother. He soon
started a family and his tannery was growing to a very successful business. A few years came to pass,
and tragedy struck his family. One of his sons died, Brown became very sick, he incurred a
tremendous amount of debt, and his wife passed shortly after the death of a newborn son. A year later
he would marry 16 year old Mary Ann, and have 13 children, creating a total of 20 children of which
only 11 would survive into adulthood. After moving his family to the town of Franklin Mills, Ohio, he
opened a new tannery but soon fell victim to the Panic of 1837, leaving him in more debt. He took up
horse and sheep breeding, as well as many other efforts to relieve himself of his debts. Brown was

Examples Of Bad Mother In Mythology
1.3 Bad Mothers in Mythology and Fairy Tales
The chapter so far has shown what is conventionally considered good mothering , according to the
models perpetuated by psychological theories and the prevailing social custom and practice.
It is also important to analyse the space given to mothers who do not perform their role according to
this established pattern. Traditionally, representations of bad mothers have been transmitted through
myths and fairy tales, which, by imagining the existence of such dissonant figures in an allegorical
perspective, contributed to place maternal violence in a distant place and time, preventing them from
challenging women s traditional role as caring, nurturing actors within society.
Joseph Campbell defines mythological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nonetheless, stories of mothers acting in subversive ways and calling into question both the bedrock
of family stability and the limits of mother love can be found in many myths. Medea kills her own
children as a sign of personal revenge against Jason, her former lover, who had abandoned her. Jocasta
ruthlessly abandons her son Oedipus in order to save her husband, favouring conjugal love over the
mother child bond. Althea decides to burn the branch that kept her son Meleager alive after he had
killed her brothers. The function of these challenging examples of women who favour others over
their children, and as such are branded as bad mothers, could be found in the desire to show the
destructive force of phallic women, who turn the typical representation of female characters as sources
of life in negative death bringers. Desire of revenge, fear and pain pushed these mythological
characters to act against social expectations by giving prominence to their own subjectivity or to
relationships other than filial. Medea favoured her own desire of hurting Jason, by depriving him of
his beloved children, over her maternal love. This leads her to kill her offspring, who represent in her
eyes also a proof of her ability to love and of her vulnerability. Jocasta, scared by the oracle s words,
tries to avoid the destiny the Gods have sanctioned for her by abandoning Oedipus and failing to
perform her maternal duties. Althea s filicide is provoked by her grief over her brother s death, caused
by the son she had protected for all of her life. All of these female characters reverse the positive,
fertile role traditionally associated with women in mythological narratives by killing the ones they had
created, subverting the image of women as nurturing part of society. Because of their failure to
comply with the maternal

Integrated Systemic Family Therapy Essay
Narrative Therapy An Integrated Outcome? Introduction Systemic therapy was based on Minuchin s
Structural Therapy model (1968) followed by Bateson s cybernetic model (1972) The first order
cybernetic model considerd that problems within a family system should be focused on by
strategically solving problems, meeting family goals and help change a person s dysfunctional
behaviour. D Shazer (1985). These concepts in Systemic therapy were known as the major paradigms
and were taught by therapists such as Minuchin in Milan until the information processing systems
were introduced. They were characterized by the therapist s observation of the system from the
external social world. Minuchin S amp; Fisherman,HC (1981) Systemic Family ... Show more content

exploration and the discovery of alternative stories in Client s lives creates a new dimension for the
client, they can begin to see new possibilities and positive ways of re constructing their lives in
relation to the problem that they have. McNamee S amp; Gergan KJ eds (1994). Externalization The
person is not the problem, the problem is the problem is a widely known paradigm among systemic
therapists and seeks to separate the person from the problem quite adequately. This in effect allows the
Client an opportunity to see himself/herself differently without being labeled or blamed for the
problem. The problem is then externalized by the Therapist who through an abstract process will aim
to treat the problem as an entity external to the client and will also give the problem a name. White
amp; Epston (1990) For example, in relation to a child s unwanted behavior it is discussed between
the Client/family and Therapist in terms of the unwanted behavior existing outside of the Client and
his family, and is inevitably trying to influence the child i.e. by causing say anger and aggression to
occur and manifest itself in the child s behaviour.Morgan A (2000)

Blood on the Steppes: Ethnicity, Power, and Conflict
In this article written by Weatherford, the form and use of ethnic identity is the core focus and further
elaborations has been provided on roles of various factors in shaping ethnic identities such as, religion,
economics, politics and so forth. Weatherford has also discussed the various usages that ethnic
identities may have: Men in pursuit of their own vested interests have used ethnic identities as a means
to reach their goals and interests such as wealth, fame and even sexual indulgence. The study was
done on Central Asian countries, mostly those which were in the eastern bloc, it is argued ... Show

Thus, he made himself the Turkmen National Symbol of solidarity and unity.
It s been argued in the article that religion has been most used when people are denied the right to
directly express their own ethnic identity or have to accept an identity other than their own. Militant
Islam has become the dominant form of identification and main route of resistance to central
government authorities. For instance, Uighurs were Buddhists who converted to Islam. Due to the fact
that in the presence of Chinese (Khan) dominations they could not express their ethnic identity, they
chose Islam to symbolize and identify them.
Some chose rather unorthodox methods to express their identity and symbolization as a factor that
would assert their identity was indeed different from the previously discussed cases. For instance, a
group was formed under the name of Reebok Mafia , although they spoke the same language but they
would differ in terms of the place of residence and ethnicity. Thus, they chose to wear clothes products
of the Reebok Company to be identified. In some instances ethnic identity has been used to pursue
sexual gratification. In the case of Kirgizstan, it is legitimate for a man and women to elope or men
kidnap the woman in order to marry them, the specific term coined for this tradition is Bride Capture.

Analyzing Men s Health Magazine
Society has been put through the many expectations of how men and women should behave or where
to go. This has been elaborated through television, social media and even magazines. Magazines are
involved in influencing societies behaviour and actions. They are used in a variety of ways, from
informing their readers to entertaining them. Each magazine has their unique way of presenting their
ideas, which depends on the age group that they are aiming it at. There is a great emphasis on
attracting a certain reader, as it is the key to gain more customers and attract the right audience. As a

In the years of 1960 to 1970, Albert Humphrey an analysis technique called SWOT, stands for

The Importance Of Power In The Middle Ages
From the origins of civilization, people looked for a high power for guidance and direction. Beginning
with the Sumerians, the kings and their nobility looked to their polytheistic religious beliefs for
direction through cosmic and terrestrial signals. Priests came into play, helping those who needed help
in their walk with their faith. The Pope was considered God on Earth and government officials looked
to him to answers numerous times during battles and wars. Religion became a companion to power in
the middle ages, but the nature of authority slightly changed, relying more on religion, as we entered
into the modern period. Beginning in the ancient period, people had a say in how the government ran
and religion was a major occurrence in everyday life. The ancient Egyptians did everything revolved

A Proposal For A New Factory
Introduction Longchamp is a French firm created in Paris in 1948, known for its luxury fashion leather
and canvas goods, such as handbags and luggage. Thanks to its expertise, Longchamp is distributed in
more than 275 stores worldwide. We would like to expand our production; therefore we chose to open
a new factory in Romania. In this report, we will explain the reasons why we made this decision. 1)
Tax costs Regarding tax costs, Romania is as a highly taxed country, just like France. Indeed, income
and capital gains earned by corporation are taxed at a rate of 16%. More specifically, these data clearly
demonstrate that Romania has payments percentage and profit taxes higher than France. Even if
Romania is more taxed than France regarding corporate and income taxes, it is the opposite scheme
for labor taxes and contributions. This inversion is due to low labor costs. Certainly high tax costs can
be a constraint to produce in this country but we choose Romania for other reasons like the low labor
cost and the proximity with our primary market, France. 2) Legal environment Thanks to the
accession to the EU and the increasing integration in European markets, Romania s structural reform
has progressed. Romania s reform and liberalization process created large foreign exchange inflows
and a positive view of Romania s prospects. However, the judicial power is not entirely independent.
It is very influenced by the executive

how it is shown in Há s story. Há, for example, was very stubborn and jealous of her brothers. She was
competitive, independent, and strong willed. When she comes to her new home, she eventually
becomes more agreeable, more decisive, and more emotional altogether. This shows us how she
changes, how she turns inside out, and how she turns back again. Refugees all around the world
experience similar things, including this change in personality. Há and her family had changed
completely when they were forced from their home, which happens to almost ... Show more content

Although it may take time, things will eventually stop being backwards. Refugees begin to go back to
a normal life, although it is not exactly how it was previously. Their lives tend to change back as they
get more comfortable. The adjustments to their new home make them feel like they belong once they
can understand the language, the culture, and the people. They will no longer be lost in the dark
unable to figure out what is going on. Here, I don t have that problem anymore (Brice 2). Our lives
will twist and twist, intermingling the old and the new until it doesn t matter which is which (Lai 257).
Their old lives eventually won t matter anymore. They will be able to do whatever they wish again,
because the life they have now will replace their old one. They will have finally gone back again to the

My Experience With My Mentor
I can still remember the talk with my friends before September when I told them how scared I was to
take this course since I could not imagine me, myself, to handle a 90 minute class on my own. When I
was informed that I was assigned to an ALI level 6 class, I was shocked. I could not help thinking
about that I was actually a level 6 student last year and how could I teach students that had the same
language proficiency as I did. I was anxious, panic, confused and unsure about myself before my first
observation. I kept emailing my supervisor and told her how I was not confident about myself; I
remember I failed to speak English fluently for the beginning few weeks since I noticed that my
mentor and my students were judging me while I was speaking; I rewrote my lesson plan for more
than three times to meet my mentor s expectations... my voice might be a little bit shaky when I was
first observed. And I kept talking to make the class more teacher centered so that I could control the
class better. It is so magic that as soon as I accomplished my first class being observed, I felt released
and I felt that I learned something. It cannot be expressed verbally, but I could feel it. I gained
confidence and much more. Being more confident, my second lesson plan designing process still
nearly killed me. This time I had to search the materials myself. I went through the YouTube videos
and Google, pages after pages. I could not help even thinking about the lesson plan and designing

Explain Why Early Jamestown Why Did So Many Colonists Die
Early James Town: Why did so many colonists die?
These colonists died months after settlement. Why did they meet there death so early? The Colonists
came for one reason. Or at least most of them. Gold, Silver and riches. So many colonists died at
Jamestown in the beginning because of lack of commit, native American attacks and poor
environment conditions.
These people who the Virginia company sent to the New World They thought they were skilled and
prepared to survive on this new land of mystery. But this wasn t the case. They were hiding a secret.
They had no skills or plans to live and thrive on this new world. See, The settlers want to get gold and
hit it rich (Doc D). But that wasn t the worst part. When they went to the bathroom? In the water? But
why is this important? Because they had to drink water? And the water was right there. (Doc A) They
had the right idea. The water was on a current and they thought that when they use the bathroom it
will go down stream. But when a stream connects to a larger body of water, so the exact water

There was so much drought that personally I m surprised that they survived on such little water. They
would go without water for more then 10 days. That s a long time! This means that the Jamestown
Colonists were dying off. There dying off, so what about the other animals? These animals were dying
too. This means that the Jamestown Colonists were losing food. This follows the old saying Desperate
times call for desperate measures. So with that being said. They would eat there horses, dogs, cats....
And even. Each other! That s right, cannibalism.
With these three reasons said, and detail explain put into them, you must understand now why
Jamestown Colonists died so early. The Drought, the fact of even caring, or even the Indians attacking
out of sheer fear that we might overthrow them? This is why early Jamestown Colonists died so

A Note on Fuel Hedging in the Airline Industry
Fuel hedging in the airline industry Introduction Hedging can be defined as a risk management
mechanism or strategy which is used to prevent the chances of incurring losses which arise as a result
of fall in prices commodities or currencies. It is a technique which is majorly used by the investors in
protecting their capital against the effects of the economic situations such as inflation whereby the
investors invests in the high yield financial instruments or take a position to cushion them against such
effects (Investopedia, 2012). From its definition it can be noticed that hedging is a strategy employed
by companies in an effort to safeguard their economic position and to prevent the company from the
losses which are associated with the unforeseen risks. Companies can hedge against risks which are
associated with losses by taking control of their future purchases. The commodity prices vary in
different markets and are caused or influenced by different economic factors. Some commodities are
very scarce and with the increased depletion subject to the global demand in different foreign markets,
the prices are set to be hiked in response to the established demand which positions the companies that
use those particular commodities to have cash flow problems. Pricing of commodities are arrived at
basically from the forces of demand and supply, a decrease in supply of a basic commodity or a
commodity with a high utility value causes the demand to rise suddenly. There are

The Rot The Heart Of The Brazilian Economy Summary
Since the great depression, our understanding of what makes an economy grow or contract changed a
bit. New macroeconomics concepts became popular, sometimes even taking place of classic ones.
Using those concepts, Christopher Sabatini wrote the article The Rot the Heart of the Brazilian
Economy , published by the Foreign Policy (FP) website on last February. In the article, Sabatini tries
to explain what went wrong with the once very prosperous Brazilian economy, which in the past years
has been diving into a recession that is so deep that many economists already call it a depression. The
purpose of this paper is to explain Keynesian model and fiscal policy, concepts that I have learned in
the macroeconomics classes and that helped me to understand ... Show more content on

First, let us remember that when the government sells bonds with bigger yields, everyone will be
interested in taking advantage of that opportunity, not only Americans. In fact, foreigners can and will
buy those American bonds, and they will need American dollars to do so. The sudden demand for
American dollars will make the dollar value spike up, and with an expensive currency, U.S. products
will become more expensive and less attractive to foreigners which will finally decrease X and AD.
This is the open economy effect. Lastly, the government relies in the fact that the most part of the
population are economically ignorant . However, some households and companies are aware of the
economy situation, and will not react as the government expects. They will actually start saving as
soon as they realize that the federal administration is borrowing money to increase spending; that
happens because the government eventually will have to increase federal taxes to pay that bill.
Because C and I play the major role in the AD curve, this will also compromise the economic goals of

The Dangers Of Secondhand Smoking
We have laws that protect minors from physical abuse, but isn t the damage from secondhand smoking
also considered physical abuse?
Secondhand smoke is the combination of the smoke exhaled by smokers and the burning end of a
cigarette. This smoke is dangerous for children and should not be used in the car with children.
Why is Secondhand Smoking Bad for Children?
Secondhand smoking cause many defects for children as they grow up. As parents of young children
smoke in the car, these children are exposed to this secondhand smoke frequently. According to
Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Secondhand smoke causes numerous health
problems in infants and children, including more frequent and severe asthma attacks, respiratory
infections, ear infection, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). As these children group up, the
health problems resulting from the secondhand smoke exposure affects their lifestyle and future.
Children do not deserve to be exposed to such toxic things so young. They are innocent victims to
their parents bad habit and life choices. Children are vulnerable and clearly do not know what these
chemicals do to their bodies so they are defenseless against the dangers of secondhand smoke. Centers
of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also states, Secondhand smoke contains more than 7,000
chemicals, hundreds are toxic and about 70 are known to cause cancer. I believe that it is not okay to
for parents to think that exposing children to secondhand smoke is not a problem. This mentality that
there is not a problem is the problem with secondhand smoking. I am not asking parents to stop
smoking just to take is outside away from childrens developing bodies.
Secondhand smoke is dangerous to all passengers in the car. The Americans for Nonsmokers Rights
(ANR) argues, Exposing passengers, both children and adults, to secondhand smoke in the confined
space of a car is extremely hazardous. This hazard is something that can be avoided, if laws are passed
to make smoking with children in the car illegal.
A study found on Rabbit Air website preformed by UK researchers found levels of fine particulate
matter were measured from the rear passenger seat of cars of over a dozen

Jealousy In Ray Bradbury s All Summer In A Day
Jealousy and patience what do they have in common and how are they different, Ray Bradbury s story
All Summer in a Day is a good example of how they are alike and how they are different. All Summer
in a Day a story by Ray Bradbury takes place on the planet Venus where it rains all the time, and every
seven years the Sun comes out for at least an hour, and some nine year olds do not believe Margot
about the sun (how it looks and feels), eventually they put her in a closet and then minutes later the
sun comes out. Two of the many themes in All Summer in a Day are jealousy can hurt people and
blind people and patience is a virtue. All Summer in a Day a story by Ray Bradbury is full of
examples of theme but two main ones are jealousy can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In All Summer in a Day the main character Margot says Oh,but Margot whispered helpless. But this is
the day, the scientist predict, they say, they know, the sun... also it states All a joke! said the boy, The
children do not believe Margot about the predictions on when the sun will shine, this is because the
children don t have the kind of patience to wait for the sun. Also in Ray Bradbury s story All Summer
in a Day when the children are coming back in from being out in the sun there is a small conversation
that states Will it be seven more years? Yes. Seven. then one of them gave a little cry. Margot! What?
She s still in the closet where we locked her. Margot This is a good example of patience is a virtue
because in this part the children are now realizing the mistake they had made for the impatience and
jealousy that they had felt because of Margot and her statements. Anyone maybe wondering how are
these themes are tied together and to the thesis, well if it is thought about for long enough they might
recognize how first of all is the themes are interconnected ,and the themes are of the many that there
are, they are some of the main

A Dream Deferred By Langston Hughes
In the poem Dream Deferred (1951) by Langston Hughes, he proposes some of the positive and
undesirable effects of putting a dream on hold, through powerful imagery. It seems he himself does
not exactly understand what happens when a dream is deferred , or he has not yet experienced it.
Through a series of questions and rhymes, he gives ideas on what an aspiration becomes when it is
forgotten or put aside to take care of other things. Each line is introduced with a question except for
the fifth line, which still begins with a maybe , showing the doubt the speaker has about this dream
that is left to the side. Every line comes with a certain amount of confusion and uncertainty. He is
uncertain of what this dream has become, what it will be, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like the second line in the poem, you eventually give up on this dream you have after it sits idly,
serving no purpose; it just wears away. The next line reads Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and
sugar over like a syrupy sweet? This time he is questioning if it eventually begins to deteriorate and
stir up a lot of issues, or perhaps it was the wrong dream and it haunts the reader. The second sentence
negates this prediction, describing it as a dream that needed to be put on hold for a specific reason, or
that other significant matters had to be taken care of before they proceeded with this aspiration; it
needed to be delayed in order for it to turn into something great, or sweet as Hughes portrays it.
Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. was the only line in the poem that did not include a question
mark, but it was still ambiguously suggested. The author proposes that the dream could become a
burden, weighing you down. The more you push the dream away, the more demanding and vexing it
becomes. This heavy load could also be viewed as a drive to follow the dream, instead of letting it
fade away. The weight pushes you to persevere and stick to this

The Character Of Shakespeare s Macbeth Or A Tragic Hero
In the Shakespearean play of Macbeth, Macbeth can be considered a tragic hero or a villain depending
on the extent. But, to what extent is he is a tragic hero or a villain? From act to act, the reader can see
Macbeth s character develop and the changes in the way other perceive him. In the way Shakespeare
writes, he makes Macbeth s character progressive, meaning that through the play his redeeming
qualities appear to diminish. Macbeth, although his actions are strengthened by Lady Macbeth and the
witches, his own intentions ultimately lead to his defeat and can lead him to be characterized as either
a villain or a tragic hero. Macbeth has several redeeming qualities, or potentially heroic qualities, that
can classify him as a tragic hero, but he also has some qualities that could characterize his as a villain.
A tragic hero, according to Aristotle s definition, must be a literary character who makes a judgment
error that inevitably leads to his/her own destruction . Macbeth displays the characteristics of a tragic
hero because inevitable that he is fully responsible for his own actions. He also realizes that what he is
planning to commit, Duncan s murder, is a crime and realizes this with the other murders as well.
Macbeth is destined for downfall, suffering and defeat from the beginning of the play, after he begins
to contemplate the witches prophecies. Finally, Macbeth, like a tragic hero has heroic or potentially
heroic qualities, such as ambition, bravery, kindness and imaginativness. Macbeth is ambitious
because even though the witches give opportunity for temptation brought up through their words, he
allows his ambitious thoughts to have full control. He demonstrates bravery because he commented on
for being brave when fighting against Macdonwald and Sweno in the first act. Lady Macbeth
mentions Macbeth s feature of kindness when she says [y]et I do fear thy nature/[i]t is too full o the
milk of human kindness (1.5.4) . Imaginativeness is generally a good quality to have but in Macbeth s
case it could be one of the causes of his down such as when he sees the ghost of Banquo and sees the
blood stained dagger.
A villain, according to Merriam Webster s English dictionary, is one blamed for a

The First Camper With A Years Old Girl With Cerebral Palsy
The first camper paired with me was Sarah a fourteen year old girl with cerebral palsy. Although she
was bound to a wheelchair, she was as boy crazy as any fourteen year old girl. Because we were the
same age, we bonded over several things, especially our love for Justin Bieber and One Direction. Our
friendship did not start as a normal friendship would since I assisted her in all daily activities, but it
was a friendship built on love and appreciation of one another.
During the same year, I met Devon. She had Down Syndrome, but she did not let this disability stop
her. She brought a positive attitude to all activities. Often, she would come up behind me and tickle
me; if I laughed, Devon would laugh. On rainy days or before rest hour, she became Rainbow Dash
and rapped in the cabin about anything and everything. My favorite side of Devon is the tomboy that
came out during outdoor games. Although her mental disability inhibited her physical, it did not stop
her trash talking her opponents.
My most recent camper is Lizzie. Lizzie had a developmental disability; although she was thirteen,
she had the mental capacity of a four year old. Sometimes, Lizzie had a hard time verbalizing what
she wanted and became aggravated with her attendants for not understanding. The volunteers knew
what would always cheer her up: her slinky. Lizzie asked me countless times a day if we could go to
Cracker Barrel just to buy a small purple slinky. Lizzie was happy as long as she has her

After a review of nanotechnology initiatives, it is surprising that the Programa Especial does not make
any reference to the possible risks to health and the environment related to the use of nanotechnology
neither its ethical and legal implications, nor the public participation in what many scientists see as the
most important technological revolution of the 21st century. The absence of concern associated with
the use of nanotechnology in México becomes worrying because of the increasing number of
laboratories in the area. Furthermore, many of them are already using clean rooms and very
sophisticated equipment with the main objective of encouraging the production of nanocomponents
for the industrial sector. In the same vein, Argentina and Brazil do not have a program to discuss the
implications and risks of nanotechnology, or a plan to supervise the activities related to
nanotechnology research and development. In this regard, it is clear that the distance between Latin
America and its European and North American counterparts is expanding. Due to the absence of a

Human cloning technology could be used to reverse heart attacks. Scientists believe that they may be

Plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. Because of human cloning and its technology the days of
silicone breast implants and other cosmetic procedures that may cause immune disease should soon be
over. With the new technology, instead of using materials foreign to the body for such procedures,
doctors will be able to manufacture bone, fat, connective tissue, or cartilage that matches the patient s
tissue exactly. Victims of terrible accidents that deformed their face should now be able to have their
features repaired with new, safer, technology. Limbs for amputees may be able to be regenerated.
Breast implants. Most people are aware of the breast implant fiasco in which hundreds of thousands of
women received silicone breast implants for cosmetic reasons. Many came to believe that the implants
were making them ill with diseases of their immune systems. With human cloning and its technology,
breast augmentation and other forms of cosmetic surgery could be done with implants that would not
be any different from the person s normal tissue. Defective genes. The average person carries eight
defective genes inside of them. These defective genes allow people to become sick when they would
otherwise remain healthy. With human cloning and its technology it may be possible to ensure that we

  • 2. Essay on Why the Design Argument Fails Why the Design Argument Fails The Design Argument does fail due to its weaknesses, it is lacking in factual and substantial evidence to prove its theories. It puts forward a lot of ideas and claims however they are not justified well enough; the only true fact is that you have to believe them. I feel it is correct to claim that it fails due to the amount of criticising evidence against the theories for the existence of God. The main philosopher to criticise and object to the Teleogical Argument was David Hume. He looked at every point towards the existence towards a creator and designer and then thought logically about the condemnation and came up with rebuttals. He realised that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He then compares a watch against a floating vegetable. A clock to a large organic mass is not possible to compare. It would be better to compare it to an immense floating object. He is stating how absurd it is that a small simple item could be linked to such a powerful designer. You cannot link a watch towards something, which is a far more superior, and multitasking being. Like many of these assumptions they are lacking concrete evidence to prove it, it is just a theory and therefore weakens the argument towards the existence of a creator. Another protestation, which Hume makes, is the difference between the world at present and the world at birth. He asks how we can link what was then from what we see now, the time difference is too great and too big of an assumption. When we link the dinosaurs and try to analysis their life and habits we can only learn from what we have. Then we tend to assume what time period they lived and who hunted whom. Once again there is no real evidence to prove where or when they existed and this is just like the creator theories. We assume and try to link things together from what we have without looking at all the evidence and waiting for 100% accurate facts. So we just predict and say it is the way forward. However this is incorrect and therefore false to state this. Yet many Philopshers tend to say that it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. John Brown And The Abolition Movement also the value of non violent resistance supported by the transcendentalists and, There were many prominent figures in the Abolition movement that made great strides to freedom. Most took the route of political campaigning, but a few decided to take a more direct approach. One said individual is John Brown. John Brown was a white abolitionist born in Connecticut who simply grew tired of the pacifist approach and took up arms with a few volunteers against slavery. Brown was born the son of Owen Brown, a tanner, in the town of Torrington, Connecticut. The Browns were conventional evangelicals, and John went to school in Massachusetts to become a Congregationalist minister. Unfortunately he ran out of money and returned to his family and opened his own tannery with his brother. He soon started a family and his tannery was growing to a very successful business. A few years came to pass, and tragedy struck his family. One of his sons died, Brown became very sick, he incurred a tremendous amount of debt, and his wife passed shortly after the death of a newborn son. A year later he would marry 16 year old Mary Ann, and have 13 children, creating a total of 20 children of which only 11 would survive into adulthood. After moving his family to the town of Franklin Mills, Ohio, he opened a new tannery but soon fell victim to the Panic of 1837, leaving him in more debt. • 6. Examples Of Bad Mother In Mythology 1.3 Bad Mothers in Mythology and Fairy Tales The chapter so far has shown what is conventionally considered good mothering , according to the models perpetuated by psychological theories and the prevailing social custom and practice. It is also important to analyse the space given to mothers who do not perform their role according to this established pattern. Traditionally, representations of bad mothers have been transmitted through myths and fairy tales, which, by imagining the existence of such dissonant figures in an allegorical perspective, contributed to place maternal violence in a distant place and time, preventing them from challenging women s traditional role as caring, nurturing actors within society. Joseph Campbell defines mythological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nonetheless, stories of mothers acting in subversive ways and calling into question both the bedrock of family stability and the limits of mother love can be found in many myths. Medea kills her own children as a sign of personal revenge against Jason, her former lover, who had abandoned her. Jocasta ruthlessly abandons her son Oedipus in order to save her husband, favouring conjugal love over the mother child bond. Althea decides to burn the branch that kept her son Meleager alive after he had killed her brothers. The function of these challenging examples of women who favour others over their children, and as such are branded as bad mothers, could be found in the desire to show the destructive force of phallic women, who turn the typical representation of female characters as sources of life in negative death bringers. Desire of revenge, fear and pain pushed these mythological characters to act against social expectations by giving prominence to their own subjectivity or to relationships other than filial. Medea favoured her own desire of hurting Jason, by depriving him of his beloved children, over her maternal love. This leads her to kill her offspring, who represent in her eyes also a proof of her ability to love and of her vulnerability. Jocasta, scared by the oracle s words, tries to avoid the destiny the Gods have sanctioned for her by abandoning Oedipus and failing to perform her maternal duties. Althea s filicide is provoked by her grief over her brother s death, caused by the son she had protected for all of her life. All of these female characters reverse the positive, fertile role traditionally associated with women in mythological narratives by killing the ones they had created, subverting the image of women as nurturing part of society. D Shazer (1985). These concepts in Systemic therapy were known as the major paradigms and were taught by therapists such as Minuchin in Milan until the information processing systems were introduced. Due to the fact that in the presence of Chinese (Khan) dominations they could not express their ethnic identity, they chose Islam to symbolize and identify them. Some chose rather unorthodox methods to express their identity and symbolization as a factor that would assert their identity was indeed different from the previously discussed cases. For instance, a group was formed under the name of Reebok Mafia , although they spoke the same language but they would differ in terms of the place of residence and ethnicity. Thus, they chose to wear clothes products of the Reebok Company to be identified. In some instances ethnic identity has been used to pursue sexual gratification. In the case of Kirgizstan, it is legitimate for a man and women to elope or men kidnap the woman in order to marry them, the specific term coined for this tradition is Bride Capture. Thanks to its expertise, Longchamp is distributed in more than 275 stores worldwide. We would like to expand our production; therefore we chose to open a new factory in Romania. In this report, we will explain the reasons why we made this decision. 1) Tax costs Regarding tax costs, Romania is as a highly taxed country, just like France. Indeed, income and capital gains earned by corporation are taxed at a rate of 16%. More specifically, these data clearly demonstrate that Romania has payments percentage and profit taxes higher than France. Even if Romania is more taxed than France regarding corporate and income taxes, it is the opposite scheme for labor taxes and contributions. This inversion is due to low labor costs. Certainly high tax costs can be a constraint to produce in this country but we choose Romania for other reasons like the low labor cost and the proximity with our primary market, France. 2) Legal environment Thanks to the accession to the EU and the increasing integration in European markets, Romania s structural reform has progressed. Romania s reform and liberalization process created large foreign exchange inflows and a positive view of Romania s prospects. However, the judicial power is not entirely independent. Secondhand smoke is the combination of the smoke exhaled by smokers and the burning end of a cigarette. This smoke is dangerous for children and should not be used in the car with children. Why is Secondhand Smoking Bad for Children? Secondhand smoking cause many defects for children as they grow up. As parents of young children smoke in the car, these children are exposed to this secondhand smoke frequently. According to Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Secondhand smoke causes numerous health problems in infants and children, including more frequent and severe asthma attacks, respiratory infections, ear infection, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). As these children group up, the health problems resulting from the secondhand smoke exposure affects their lifestyle and future. Children do not deserve to be exposed to such toxic things so young. They are innocent victims to their parents bad habit and life choices. Children are vulnerable and clearly do not know what these chemicals do to their bodies so they are defenseless against the dangers of secondhand smoke. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also states, Secondhand smoke contains more than 7,000 chemicals, hundreds are toxic and about 70 are known to cause cancer. I believe that it is not okay to for parents to think that exposing children to secondhand smoke is not a problem. This mentality that there is not a problem is the problem with secondhand smoking. I am not asking parents to stop smoking just to take is outside away from childrens developing bodies. Secondhand smoke is dangerous to all passengers in the car. The Americans for Nonsmokers Rights (ANR) argues, Exposing passengers, both children and adults, to secondhand smoke in the confined space of a car is extremely hazardous. To solve this problem, I would add these features to the mobile app by adding a Messages button where the customer can view all messages in their inbox followed by a Statements Documents button where the PDF statements and other documents are uploaded in lieu of sending customers paper documents by ... Jealousy In Ray Bradbury s All Summer In A Day Jealousy and patience what do they have in common and how are they different, Ray Bradbury s story All Summer in a Day is a good example of how they are alike and how they are different. All Summer in a Day a story by Ray Bradbury takes place on the planet Venus where it rains all the time, and every seven years the Sun comes out for at least an hour, and some nine year olds do not believe Margot about the sun (how it looks and feels), eventually they put her in a closet and then minutes later the sun comes out. Seven. then one of them gave a little cry. Margot! What? She s still in the closet where we locked her. • 32. A Dream Deferred By Langston Hughes In the poem Dream Deferred (1951) by Langston Hughes, he proposes some of the positive and undesirable effects of putting a dream on hold, through powerful imagery. It seems he himself does not exactly understand what happens when a dream is deferred , or he has not yet experienced it. Through a series of questions and rhymes, he gives ideas on what an aspiration becomes when it is forgotten or put aside to take care of other things. Each line is introduced with a question except for the fifth line, which still begins with a maybe , showing the doubt the speaker has about this dream that is left to the side. Every line comes with a certain amount of confusion and uncertainty. He is uncertain of what this dream has become, what it will be, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just like the second line in the poem, you eventually give up on this dream you have after it sits idly, serving no purpose; it just wears away. The next line reads Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over like a syrupy sweet? This time he is questioning if it eventually begins to deteriorate and stir up a lot of issues, or perhaps it was the wrong dream and it haunts the reader. The second sentence negates this prediction, describing it as a dream that needed to be put on hold for a specific reason, or that other significant matters had to be taken care of before they proceeded with this aspiration; it needed to be delayed in order for it to turn into something great, or sweet as Hughes portrays it. Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. was the only line in the poem that did not include a question mark, but it was still ambiguously suggested. The author proposes that the dream could become a burden, weighing you down. The more you push the dream away, the more demanding and vexing it becomes. This heavy load could also be viewed as a drive to follow the dream, instead of letting it fade away. The weight pushes you to persevere and stick to this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the way Shakespeare writes, he makes Macbeth s character progressive, meaning that through the play his redeeming qualities appear to diminish. Macbeth, although his actions are strengthened by Lady Macbeth and the witches, his own intentions ultimately lead to his defeat and can lead him to be characterized as either a villain or a tragic hero. Macbeth has several redeeming qualities, or potentially heroic qualities, that can classify him as a tragic hero, but he also has some qualities that could characterize his as a villain. Finally, Macbeth, like a tragic hero has heroic or potentially heroic qualities, such as ambition, bravery, kindness and imaginativness. He demonstrates bravery because he commented on for being brave when fighting against Macdonwald and Sweno in the first act. • 34. The First Camper With A Years Old Girl With Cerebral Palsy The first camper paired with me was Sarah a fourteen year old girl with cerebral palsy. Although she was bound to a wheelchair, she was as boy crazy as any fourteen year old girl. Because we were the same age, we bonded over several things, especially our love for Justin Bieber and One Direction. Our friendship did not start as a normal friendship would since I assisted her in all daily activities, but it was a friendship built on love and appreciation of one another. During the same year, I met Devon. She had Down Syndrome, but she did not let this disability stop her. She brought a positive attitude to all activities. Often, she would come up behind me and tickle me; if I laughed, Devon would laugh. On rainy days or before rest hour, she became Rainbow Dash and rapped in the cabin about anything and everything. My favorite side of Devon is the tomboy that came out during outdoor games. Although her mental disability inhibited her physical, it did not stop her trash talking her opponents. My most recent camper is Lizzie. Lizzie had a developmental disability; although she was thirteen, she had the mental capacity of a four year old. Sometimes, Lizzie had a hard time verbalizing what she wanted and became aggravated with her attendants for not understanding. The volunteers knew what would always cheer her up: her slinky. Lizzie asked me countless times a day if we could go to Cracker Barrel just to buy a small purple slinky. Lizzie was happy as long as she has her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After a review of nanotechnology initiatives, it is surprising that the Programa Especial does not make any reference to the possible risks to health and the environment related to the use of nanotechnology neither its ethical and legal implications, nor the public participation in what many scientists see as the most important technological revolution of the 21st century. The absence of concern associated with the use of nanotechnology in México becomes worrying because of the increasing number of laboratories in the area. Furthermore, many of them are already using clean rooms and very sophisticated equipment with the main objective of encouraging the production of nanocomponents for the industrial sector. In the same vein, Argentina and Brazil do not have a program to discuss the implications and risks of nanotechnology, or a plan to supervise the activities related to nanotechnology research and development. In this regard, it is clear that the distance between Latin America and its European and North American counterparts is expanding. Due to the absence of a National Nanotechnology Initiative, México has turned its attention to different research centers in search for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Victims of terrible accidents that deformed their face should now be able to have their features repaired with new, safer, technology. Limbs for amputees may be able to be regenerated. Breast implants. Most people are aware of the breast implant fiasco in which hundreds of thousands of women received silicone breast implants for cosmetic reasons. Many came to believe that the implants were making them ill with diseases of their immune systems. With human cloning and its technology, breast augmentation and other forms of cosmetic surgery could be done with implants that would not be any different from the person s normal tissue.
