An Open Campus is a Bad Idea Essay
Wandering kids. Bumper to bumper traffic. Drug dealing. Is this the picture drawn when local students
have fifty minutes of freedom during lunch to do whatever they please? Students should not be
allowed to leave their school campus during lunch. An open campus would lead to truancy, disturb
local businesses and neighborhoods, and cause crime.
Truancy can occur among students if an open campus is accepted. If students have the privilege to
leave school for fifty whole minutes on their own, then they have the freedom to not come back. It
would break the trust between students and educators, and harsher rules would have to be enforced on
the open campus rule. Numerous students who decide to ditch the remaining periods would ... Show

Quietness is important to many people doing work in their homes and offices, and this can be
disrupted by groups of students walking around creating a stir. Lunch is possibly one of the most
praised recesses in a day because it is the longest break between work. Students who drive often go to
their favorite restaurants and diners for lunch. They can lead to an increase in traffic in the school and
neighborhood and mostly in the street with other student drivers. These recently inexperienced and
immature drivers are ordinarily involved in acts such as road rage and drag racing. Accidents can
occur with innocent motorists trying to get through the day. Disturbances can also consist of littering.
Students who usually roam the neighborhood and eat lunch do not properly dispose of their trash and
can simply through it anywhere. This waste becomes a displeasing mess and site for others to see what
an open campus can cause.
Numerous types of crimes can be committed if a school allows an open campus during the lunch hour.
Felonies usually occur during times when people are not at home. At lunch, students can have illegal
access to vulnerable houses if they choose to do so when they are wondering around in the streets.
This could lead to a crime increase among a neighborhood, and cause disputes and problems. Citizens
feel safe in their neighborhoods, but crime and robberies can make them feel uneasy. They would need
to purchase state of the art security

Muscle Strength And Physical Function
II. Muscle strength
However lower limbs more relevant than upper limbs for estimation of gait and physical function,
handgrip strength has been used and well correlated with the most relevant outcomes. But there is
factors unrelated to muscle strength, e.g. motivation or cognition, may interfere the correct assessment
of muscle strength (Cruz Jentoft et al., 2010).
1) Handgrip strength
Isometric hand grip strength is well related with lower limbs muscle strength , knee extension torque
and calf cross sectional muscle area, decrease handgrip strength is a clinical marker of poor mobility
and a predictor of clinical outcomes than low muscle mass (Laurentani et al., 2003).
In practice, there is also relationship between baseline handgrip strength and disability for activities of
daily living (ADL). Handgrip strength is a good and simple measure of muscle strength, and it is well
correlated with leg strength (Fox et al., 2015)
2) knee flexion/extension
Strength can be measured either isometrically or isokinetically, the latter is closer reflection of muscle
function in daily activity. Isometric strength of maximum voluntary contractions can be measured with
simple custom made equipment. Modern, isokinetic dynamometers allow both isometric and
isokinetic measurements of strength. By concentric torque at different angular velocities (Hartmann et
al., 2009). This measurement is easy in frail older people (Callahan et al., 2007).

Essay on Gender in The Crime Drama Fiction Genre
According to John Fiske, Television as a culture is a crucial part of the social dynamics. Indeed any
television genre is based on apparent similarities, differences and on expectations as well as
assumptions shared by the viewers. It is also a cross cultural translatability as it is understood in a
diversity of contexts and markets. According to Graeme Burton (2000), the genre study leads to
understanding of audience pleasures and revelation of cultural myths. Also an understanding of
finance and marketing within television and finally an understanding of intertextuality and
postmodernist forms of television. However audiences are aware of the codes and conventions that
distinguish one genre product from the next. Genre has to be what ... Show more content on

Charlieʼs Angels was according to Anna Gough Yates (2001) a representation of femininity to the
cultural dialogue surrounding feminism in the US during the 1970s . The three main protagonists in
the series were private detectives called Jill Munroe, Sabrina Duncan and Kelly Garrett. They all
worked for their mysterious boss Charlie that we never see and were helped by Charlieʼs sidekick
Bosley. Each of the characters brought something different to the series. For example, Jill Munroe
played by Farrah Fawcett was the glamorous and sexy one; however her easy going charm and her
lively personality helped the angels on several investigations. Then there was Sabrina Duncan who
was the smartest of the angels. She was always thinking about solutions and her strategic and
calculated mind was a key ingredient to the success of their missions. Finally the last angel was Kelly
Garrett who was had a mix of both good looks and intelligence. The three angels showed us how they
can be confident and sexy by using many clothes and makeup to disguise themselves and fool the
male criminals. According to Anna Cough Yates (2001) Within the world of Charlieʼs Angels [...]

Flag Desecration Essays
Throughout history, Americans have fought hard to gain independence and the freedoms that come
with it. However, some choose to test the limitations of those freedoms. For some time, Americans
have shown their disgust of the American government by burning flags, and even cutting them up to
use as clothing. Although mocking the American government and the flag is disrespectful, revoking
the right to do so would be a violation of freedom of expression, which is guaranteed by the First
Amendment. Those who support the no flag burning amendment argue that the United States flag is a
special case. Because it would undermine the constitution and set a dangerous precedent that will
make it easier for others enact restrictive amendments to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Our constitution must not be tampered with just because flag desecration hurts others feelings. Many
feel that the American flag amendment is a special case. Supreme Court Chief William Rehnquist
claimed it was acceptable to have a narrow, special amendment to protect a special flag from
desecration. ( Consequences 2). Even Thomas Jefferson and James Madison denounced flag burning
as a crime (Brady H 2). Others feel that flag desecration disrespects those who lost their lives for our
country, stating the flag symbolizes the blood that runs through our country. George Whalen, a soldier,
said the stars and stripes of our nations flag is the symbol of our nation s values... It represents loyalty
patriotism and love of our country. ( citizens 3). Those against flag desecration must remember that
the men and women who fought and died for our country were fighting for justice, freedom, and
independence, all of which give one the right to desecrate the flag. Yes, the flag represents these
freedoms, but the constitution ensures them. An amendment revoking this right would lead to limited
individual freedoms and a lack personal responsibility. In addition to violating one s rights of freedom
of expression, the no flag burning amendment gives government the power to decide what American

The Consequences Of Domestic Violence
Abstract: Domestic violence is something that is overlooked in many aspects. While reading my paper
you will learn about different types of domestic violence. How every type is different than the other.
Each type hurts not only the victim, but everybody in the abuser and the victim s lives. Children are
usually the witnesses in these situations and tend to be caught in the middle. You will learn how this
affects them now and how it affects them later in life. There are also many reasons that someone turns
to domestic violence, and all of those topics will be discussed. Finally, you will learn about the
treatments available and all the ways to get help. After reading this paper I hope that you will be a
little more informed on the consequences of domestic violence. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have
been victims of [some form of] physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime
(Statistics). Domestic violence is one of the things that I think we as people don t take as serious as
other things. Reading that statistic was painfully chilling, and the scariest part is how much of it goes
unnoticed. My favorite part of the statistic was the part where it tells you how many men have been a
victim of this kind of violence, because factually that is something that is always overlooked.
Domestic violence isn t something that should be taken lightly and it definitely shouldn t be something
that is brushed off your shoulders if it happens to you and/or if it s happened

Snow Falling On Cedars
In order for a human being to achieve true enlightenment, they must strive towards blissful ignorance.
David Guterson s, Snow Falling on Cedars involves protagonist Hatsue Imada, and her spouse Kabuo
Miyamoto. Kabuo, a World War two veteran, is trialled in court, the guilt weighing him heavily.
Guterson makes the racism against the Japanese evident throughout the novel, and the impacts it has
towards Japanese Americans. Ursula Kroeber Le Guin s short story, The Ones Who Walk Away From
Omelas takes place in the quaint, utopian city of Omelas, and the disasters that lurk beneath. The
happiness of the citizens relies solely on the misery of a single child, locked away and hidden from the
rest of civilization. The short story looks at an interesting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
David Guterson wrote Hatsue s cultural journey as rough and uncomfortable, as the tension between
the Americans and Japanese were strong, and Hatsue was on the brink of finding herself and where
she belonged. Hatsue quoted, I don t want to be Japanese, and felt tired in her skin. Guterson
portrayed that Hatsue found it easier to deny her culture, than to accept the truth of the matter that her
boyfriend is an American essentially the enemy . The American s and the Japanese thought it simpler
to feud with each other, than to admit to being afraid of one another. Guterson explained, The whites,
you see, are tempted by their egos and have no means to resist, and went on further to quote, We
Japanese ...bend our egos, all of the time, and that is where we differ. The two cultures found that
ignoring ways in which they would be able to fix their problems, and instead showing acts of blunt
racism, left both parties at peace. They both had their prejudices, and sought it easier to act on it than
do anything to fix it. A similar problem is faced in Omelas, as Guin quotes, Their tears at the bitter
injustice dry when they begin to perceive the terrible justice of reality, and to accept it. The citizens of
Omelas were content to distance themselves from the thought of the mistreated boy, and to
acknowledge the matter for what it is, and move on. The boy s distraught feelings

Argumentative Essay On Embryonic Stem Cells
i.
Stem cells have the potential to develop and multiply into many different cell types in the body. Stem
cells are able to divide throughout life without limit. This causes the stem cells to be able to develop
into another cell type, which means it is specialised cell; to do a more specific function or it may
remain the same. [5] As stem cells divide they have the ability to help to be able to renew or repair
damaged tissue.[3,5]There are two main stem cell, Embryonic Stem Cells and Adult Stem Cells.
[1,2,3] As my research question is about embryonic stem cells, I will discuss embryonic stem cells
specifically. Embryonic stems cells are pluripotent stem cells that are derived from a human embryo
that is four to five days old. An embryo, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
[4] Stem cells are able to serves as an internal repair and are able to divide without limit. [5] One of
these three unique properties is their ability to self renew. Stem cells are able to renew themselves
without any limit. The second properties that makes stem cells important is how they have the ability
to differentiate into specialised cells with characteristics and have different functions. The third
important property is that stem cells have a large amount of unspecialised cells, which give rise to
specialised cells. [4]
The potential uses for embryonic stem cells are to be able to improve the understanding of how the
body is developing from a fertilised egg. [8] To try understand how diseases happen and how they
develop throughout the body, such as cancer and birth defects, which are a result from cell division
and the process of differentiation to specialised cells. Other uses for embryonic stem cells is that they
have the potential to be able to create and produce new medical drugs with the ability to be able to
study the stems cells to see how they could be able to treat them.

band albums, does not contain any curses or swear words. This was because the band thought that
swear words take away attention from the music. They wanted something that the public could listen
to and enjoy over and over again. In early 2001, the band s second single, Crawling , was released and

Ultra Running Essay
Running is the purest form of exercise. Its simplicity requires minimal equipment or experience, as the
running motion is an innate movement for the human body. More specifically ultra running is beyond
the marathon distance of 26.2 miles and incorporates distances of 50, 100, and 200 mile races. While
it takes any novice athlete to take part in the simple act of running a few advanced individuals turn
running into an art form and expand their expertise to endurance running as seen in ultra marathon
competitions. Running is currently applicable to society as the proportion of obese to healthy
individuals continues to increase. As a result of the obesity epidemic health and wellness has hit major
media headlines running in general has transformed into the most popular mode of exercise. The
increasing popularity in running has brought more attention to the specific world of ultra running and
researchers, health practitioners, and the media have become critics of the how running extreme
distances can be detrimental to health. While many argue that ultra running will pose greater health
risks for the competing individuals, historically distance running has been a crucial component of
human survival and evolution further supporting the development of biomechanical and physiological
health benefits. Despite the skepticism, ultra running provides holistic health benefits and does not
subject the competing individual to increased health complications or risk of injury.

Data Representation
In computer terms, a bit is a numeric value either a zero or a one that holds a single unit of digital
information. Bits are usually strung together in a sequence eight bits normally equals one byte. Bits
are used to write binary numbers, which can be used to store decimal numbers such as 244 or 93 as
patterns of ones and zeroes.
ASCII or American Standard Code for Information Interchange is a computer code that was developed
to allow computers to convert human text into bits that computers could understand. In ASCII code,
for example, the letter A is 65 a number that can then be converted into the binary value 1000001.
In the 1960 s, the 7 bit ASCII table was first adopted. Within a 7 bit number, 128 different characters
can be stored English letters from A Z (upper and lower case), numeric digits from 0 9 and special
characters such as !/*+. The eighth bit was used to detect transmission errors.

How The Ussr Is Still Haunting Europe Essay
How the USSR is Still Haunting Europe
After twenty six years, the nations that were granted independence from the Russian Federation are
still dealing with the affects of the fallout; In particular, Russia s European neighbor, Ukraine. In an
article dated September 29th, from the Russian News Agency TASS, it gives an overview of the recent
implications of the civil war in the Donbass region. Russia and Germany are urging the Ukrainian
Government to follow the Minsk Protocol, in order to keep peace and maintain a working relationship
between all the countries listed on the agreement (TASS 2016). There has been constant conflict in the
Donbass region since the beginning of 2014, with times of cease fire, but nothing significant. The
conflict is a result of the Russian demographic in Eastern Ukraine, wanting separation from a Western
influenced Ukraine. This paper will examine the geographical aspect of this relationship and how it
has affected the conflict.

The importance of websites in environment, which costumers face with invisible dealers, invisible
processes, invisible controls and intangible nature of e business relations, is undeniable; hence, proper
design of websites has been very important.
Internet customers can easily compare the services of websites. As a result, for companies to keep
their customers and build loyalty, they must provide high quality online services. On the other hand, if
users, in order to use a website more effectively, are not able to understand the good quality and
features that are needed, and do not know what features a good website must have for it to provide
them access to information, they consider its usage as a waste of time and thus will stop using it.
Assess quality of websites, considering its role in attracting customers and building loyalty is very
important for activists in the field of e commerce. Many of the research in this area are concentrated
on components, graphic design and usability of the website that clients understand than the evaluation
of the quality which has higher importance than the technical aspects. Many studies show that if
perceived quality of a company s website is more, the company gets to a higher level of performance
So in this study a webqual model has been introduced in order to evaluate and study the quality of the

Improving The Manufacturing And Service Delivery Processes...
Abstract
Information technology utilized to improve the manufacturing and service delivery processes for
companies can deliver individually different products to different individual customers cost efficiently
is called mass customization. When product components are put together in a modularized way, the
mass customization can reduce the company s all in costs. The mass customizing companies are
driven by observing individual customer request and by comparing them to what other customers have
requested. As the demand for customizing products rise, companies are offering build to order services
to enable customers to configure products to their own needs.
Utilizing mass customization provides a better matching product to its customers liking as its chosen
customization level increases. However, if a company chooses not to use mass customization, they
may result in selling a standard product. Price customization can lead to a broader adoption of mass
customization, and the company can take advantage of their customized products. Cosmetic
customization presents a standard product differently to different customers. Transparent
customization provides each customer with a customized product without telling him or her about the
actual product itself.
Good services cannot come from processes alone. The important process for winning customer loyalty
is through customization. Mass customization is a process for customizing cost efficiently. Companies

Success of the United Arab Emirates in Combating Human...
`How successful has the government in the UAE been in combating human trafficking?
According to popular definition: Human trafficking is the trade in humans, most commonly for the
purpose of sexual slavery, forced labor or for the extraction of organs or tissues.
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Trafficking) In my opinion, human trafficking is when a poor
person is exploited against their will in order to serve someone else. There are many issues that can be
considered human trafficking in the United Arab Emirates, such as the abuse of maids in rich or poor
households; the employment of labourers that work for construction companies who work very long
hours in hot weather and live in horrible conditions and women who are lured into the UAE under the
impression that the job that they are about to perform is legal, who eventually end up becoming
prostitutes. In this essay I will explore the history from when there was the initial awareness of human
trafficking in the UAE; why the government feels they should take action and how successful they
have been so far in trying to put an end to human trafficking. For my research I will look at
newspapers and websites such as The Gulf News, Khaleej Times and websites such as United Nations
and United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Human trafficking was for a long time accepted in the UAE as a way of life. In the Gulf region there is
a long history of wars between tribes and the men who were captured were usually

Essay on Astrology and the Zodiac
When I was little, I really didn t know what astrology was or what your zodiac sign was. When I was
growing up, I finally figured out what it all meant and how it worked. From that point on I was
instantly clicked. I loved reading my horoscope and when ever I did read it, nine out of ten times it
would be right, and that s why I loved reading my horoscope. It was just something I did every
morning, and then I would go throughout my day. Then at night when I would be back on the
computer, i would reread them, and realize that most of the time those things did happen, or I did feel
that type of emotion.

These signs are mostly used as sun signs, which many astrologers use to tell people s horoscope.
People with their sun sign in Aries are said to be active, energetic, and optimistic, but can also get
themselves into bad situations. As the first sign of the Zodiac Arians cannot help putting themselves

Taurus are said to be quiet, patient, and determined, but also antagonizing and stubborn. Taureans are
extremely faithful, with a strong need for security and a settled routine. Although they are very earthy,
they can also be highly romantic and sensitive when it comes to love.
Gemini s are usually characterized as lively, intellectual, and adaptable, but they could be fickle.
Gemini s are widely known for their dual personalities and ability to change mood from moment to

Opera Today Research Paper
Opera is just as popular as it was years ago. In the past groups of individuals used to meet up in opera
houses to watch the host perform a play or a musical. As of now most opera is played through music
cd s and DVD s, which is far less cheaper than purchasing a ticket to see a live show. Opera today still
takes place on stage and in theaters. The high cost of production can sometimes make it not possible to
have a live show which is very common in today s time. Majority of the opera songs that are played
today come from jazz, folk , and rock musicals.
Modern opera now uses electrical equipment to improve hearing and visual aid. The most common

Bodily Products Should Not Be Marketable
Organs play an important role in the functioning of the human body. We are born with them, and they
work throughout our lives to keep us alive and well. Some people aren t so lucky and may have an
organ dysfunction or health issue that requires them to get an organ transplant. In this case, a donor
whose tissue cells match the recipient s must be the one to donate. However, this process could take
from a few days to a few years since there are many people on the waiting list. This provokes the
controversial topic of legalization of compensation for organs. Bodily products should not be
marketable because it is immoral and possibly even dangerous. Organs were given to us when we
came to life. We should give them to others as they were given to us. Why should anyone have to pay
for something that can be given freely? If an organ is available, it should go to the person who needs it
the most. No one should have to worry about the cost of it. Donating an organ can save a life. If
someone cannot afford to pay for an organ, are we supposed to just let him or her die? That is not
morally right. While the government plans to save more lives by legalizing payment for organs, it won
t necessarily work out that way. According to the National Kidney Foundation, 92% of families who
turned down donating organs of their deceased loved ones said they still would not have donated even
if they received payment in return (237). This goes to show that even with money involved, most

Revolutionary Archetype
In both literature and the waking world, the idea of a revolutionary figure has always been one of
wonder and intrigue. It is no coincidence that authors continuously weave revolutionary characters
into their stories to both entice readers and give them a sense of realism. The revolutionary archetype
duplicated throughout fiction is seen as a morally good character openly opposing the current state of
affairs despite the action being against the known laws, this character type is also often forced to
sacrifice something for their cause. Diana Farley from The Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard,

Human Language And Animal Communication
Introduction
Firstly it is important to distinguish what is meant by human language and animal communication . By
providing definitions for both in my opening section I will then be able to go onto compare their
similarities and differences. Throughout this essay I will refer to the design features of language and
by comparing animal communication behaviours to them I will be able to show the extent to which
human language and animal communication are similar or different.
Defining Communication and Language
Communication can be defined as when ...the action of or cue given by one organism [the sender] is
perceived by and thus alters the probability pattern of behavior in another organism [the receiver] in a
fashion adaptive to either one both of the participants (Wilson 1975, p.111). Both humans and animals
are able to communicate.
Communication can be split into two categories: informative and communicative signals. Informative
signals are signs sent unintentionally, for example a human could talk fast to show nerves. Animals
can display this behavior too, for example an antelope running away from a lion would indicate it is
frightened. Communicative signals are intentional forms of communication by telling someone I am a
student you are intentionally telling them that you are a student. In animals, by barking a police dog is
intentionally telling the police to check a person.
The Oxford English Dictionary defines language as a system of human communication .

Types Of Relationships Between Parents And Adolescents
Types of relationships. There are different types of relationships between adults and adolescents and
they all have different dynamics. Miller Day discussed four different types of relationships between
parents and adolescents. Although they were discussed as parent adolescent relationships, these types
of relationships can also exist between school counselors and adolescent students. Miller Day
described laissez faire, consensual, pluralistic, and protective relationships. These types of
relationships all differ in their combination of conversation orientation and conformity orientation.
Laissez faire relationships have low conversation and low conformity, consensual relationships have
high conversation and high conformity, pluralistic relationships have high conversation and low
conformity, and protective conversations have low conversation and high conformity (2008).
Awareness of the different types of relationships is important because it determines how an adolescent
receives a message from an adult. Conversation orientation refers to the amount of discussion on a
subject and the amount of individual input. Conformity orientation refers to the amount of conformity
required in a relationship and often results in a because I said so type of attitude. The way a decision is

Who Is The Hero Of The Hobbit
1. Who is the hero of The Hobbit?
J.R.R Tolkien s The Hobbit or There and Back Again implements many forms of heroism; whether it
be Bilbo, Bard, Gandalf, or even Thorin and his dwarves. Relating to this, there is no one hero per se
but rather multiple; the heroes face both internal and external challenges. This essay will argue that the
heroes of The Hobbit are Bilbo, Gandalf, Bard and Thorin respectively, in addition, this essay will also
analyse the first stage of the hero s journey structure according to Joseph Campbell regarding Bilbo.
Firstly, the main protagonist Bilbo Baggins sets a benchmark to the notion of an archetype hero.

Just as Campbell notes, the figure encounters a series of dangers, in this case being the trolls, the
goblins, escaping from Gollum and going into Smaug s lair. With assistance from Gandalf the group is
saved from the goblins; however, the dwarves and Bilbo are separated. The interaction between
Gollum and Bilbo demonstrates a quality trait exhibited by a hero and, as a result, Bilbo s actions are
seen to outweigh his individual characteristics. Simultaneously, Bilbo displays wisdom in answering
Gollum s riddles and in turn exhibits cunning; Bilbo seeing what had happened and having nothing
better to ask stuck to his question (74). In the same way, Bilbo s adventure is seen according to Pearce
as a pilgrimage of grace in which he grows up (3). Therefore, Bilbo s main goal of his adventure
according to Pearce is to eliminate evil amongst themselves (3); thus, identifying an internal quest.
Particularly after Smaug s death, the corruption of the gold leads the dwarf leader Thorin Oakenshield
to suffer from dragon sickness; the obsessive possessiveness of dragons (Pearce 83). The actions of
Bilbo and internal qualities such as wisdom and cunning thus concludes that he is a hero in The
Hobbit, however, other characters exhibit heroic qualities.
Gandalf henceforth can also be depicted as the hero of the story, heroism therefore can be determined
by actions. Moreover, his role as the

You are relaxing on a beautiful Island beach in the middle of the Caribbean. You re reading your
favorite book, and enjoying a nice fruity cocktail you bought from the bar. You set your drink down to

else is in site, so where could it have gone? Then, you look towards the palm trees and in the distance

Caribbean island of St. Kitts is home to plenty of extraordinary things, like lush tropical rain forests,
white sand beaches, picturesque mountain tops, and striking volcanoes, but never have you seen
anything like a furry little animal with such a taste for alcohol. A number of animals inhabit this

they have learned to steal alcohol from bars and unsuspecting tourists in order to become obnoxiously

alcohol. You can see them rolling on the ground, falling out of trees, and even damaging property.

ABSTRACT
802.11 wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) becomes most important these days. Whether it would
be simple range extender for a home wired Ethernet interface, or as a wireless interface, WLAN
provides mobility, ease of access and affordable. Most of the 802.11 wireless network uses the
frequency of 2.4GHz, which leads the network to be unsafe and more vulnerable than traditional
Ethernet networks. In general, security issues for the Network layer has been discussed rapidly, but
where as for MAC layer security mechanisms has not been extensively discussed. Wireless network
security has gained attention due to the vulnerabilities exposed in the open communication platform.
Most prevalent wireless Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol is IEEE 802.11, which considers all
the nodes in the network are safe cooperative. However, attackers may make nodes misbehave in
order to disrupt network performance, obtain extra bandwidth and consume resources. These MAC
layer misbehaviors can be called as Denial of Service (DoS) attacks which can disrupt the network
operation. Influencing security flaws in the IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol even an average person with
basic knowledge on wireless networks can launch MAC layer denial of service (DOS) attacks. In this
paper we study two types of MAC layer Denial Of Service attacks that can be easily operated by an

Different Theories From The Field Of Marriage And Family...
The clinical case scenario presented can be approached from a variety of different theories from the
field of marriage and family therapy. While each approach carries with it specific techniques and
strategies for invoking change, I would assert that no one approach is inherently better than the other.
A common characteristic among all the theories is that there effectiveness depends highly on the depth
of knowledge of the approach, skill in the application of the strategies for change, and creativity of the
therapist. With this in mind, the following text will be a separate application of MRI Brief Therapy
and Strategic Therapy to the provided clinical case scenario. In describing the techniques and

effects on other problem areas within the clients life, those that may not be readily brought to the

three ways in which the problem behavior or issue is maintained. It is hypothesized that if the
individual would give up their solutions to the problem, it will resolve itself. The following have been
outlined as problem maintaining behaviors: attempting to solve a problem that is non existent, denying
the existence of the problem, or solving a problem on the wrong level (first order change vs. second
order change) (Watzlawick, 1974). First order change would be a change in how the problem game is
played, for example, if individuals were playing with checkers pieces, but decided to use chess pieces
instead while still using the rules of checkers. The pieces may have changed, but the overall rules
remain the same. If these same individuals were to learn how to play chess, this would constitute a
second order change as the rules of the game have now changed. Consequently a second order change
can be described as a change of change.
There are several techniques available to the MRI Brief therapist in reaching this change of change.

  • 2. An Open Campus is a Bad Idea Essay Wandering kids. Bumper to bumper traffic. Drug dealing. Is this the picture drawn when local students have fifty minutes of freedom during lunch to do whatever they please? Students should not be allowed to leave their school campus during lunch. An open campus would lead to truancy, disturb local businesses and neighborhoods, and cause crime. Truancy can occur among students if an open campus is accepted. If students have the privilege to leave school for fifty whole minutes on their own, then they have the freedom to not come back. It would break the trust between students and educators, and harsher rules would have to be enforced on the open campus rule. Numerous students who decide to ditch the remaining periods would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Quietness is important to many people doing work in their homes and offices, and this can be disrupted by groups of students walking around creating a stir. Lunch is possibly one of the most praised recesses in a day because it is the longest break between work. Students who drive often go to their favorite restaurants and diners for lunch. They can lead to an increase in traffic in the school and neighborhood and mostly in the street with other student drivers. These recently inexperienced and immature drivers are ordinarily involved in acts such as road rage and drag racing. Accidents can occur with innocent motorists trying to get through the day. Disturbances can also consist of littering. Students who usually roam the neighborhood and eat lunch do not properly dispose of their trash and can simply through it anywhere. This waste becomes a displeasing mess and site for others to see what an open campus can cause. Numerous types of crimes can be committed if a school allows an open campus during the lunch hour. Felonies usually occur during times when people are not at home. At lunch, students can have illegal access to vulnerable houses if they choose to do so when they are wondering around in the streets. This could lead to a crime increase among a neighborhood, and cause disputes and problems. Citizens feel safe in their neighborhoods, but crime and robberies can make them feel uneasy. They would need to purchase state of the art security ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Muscle Strength And Physical Function II. Muscle strength However lower limbs more relevant than upper limbs for estimation of gait and physical function, handgrip strength has been used and well correlated with the most relevant outcomes. But there is factors unrelated to muscle strength, e.g. motivation or cognition, may interfere the correct assessment of muscle strength (Cruz Jentoft et al., 2010). 1) Handgrip strength Isometric hand grip strength is well related with lower limbs muscle strength , knee extension torque and calf cross sectional muscle area, decrease handgrip strength is a clinical marker of poor mobility and a predictor of clinical outcomes than low muscle mass (Laurentani et al., 2003). In practice, there is also relationship between baseline handgrip strength and disability for activities of daily living (ADL). Handgrip strength is a good and simple measure of muscle strength, and it is well correlated with leg strength (Fox et al., 2015) 2) knee flexion/extension Strength can be measured either isometrically or isokinetically, the latter is closer reflection of muscle function in daily activity. Isometric strength of maximum voluntary contractions can be measured with simple custom made equipment. Modern, isokinetic dynamometers allow both isometric and isokinetic measurements of strength. By concentric torque at different angular velocities (Hartmann et al., 2009). This measurement is easy in frail older people (Callahan et al., 2007). 3) Peak expiratory flow In people without any ... • 4. Essay on Gender in The Crime Drama Fiction Genre According to John Fiske, Television as a culture is a crucial part of the social dynamics. Indeed any television genre is based on apparent similarities, differences and on expectations as well as assumptions shared by the viewers. It is also a cross cultural translatability as it is understood in a diversity of contexts and markets. According to Graeme Burton (2000), the genre study leads to understanding of audience pleasures and revelation of cultural myths. Also an understanding of finance and marketing within television and finally an understanding of intertextuality and postmodernist forms of television. However audiences are aware of the codes and conventions that distinguish one genre product from the next. Genre has to be what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Charlieʼs Angels was according to Anna Gough Yates (2001) a representation of femininity to the cultural dialogue surrounding feminism in the US during the 1970s . The three main protagonists in the series were private detectives called Jill Munroe, Sabrina Duncan and Kelly Garrett. They all worked for their mysterious boss Charlie that we never see and were helped by Charlieʼs sidekick Bosley. Each of the characters brought something different to the series. For example, Jill Munroe played by Farrah Fawcett was the glamorous and sexy one; however her easy going charm and her lively personality helped the angels on several investigations. Then there was Sabrina Duncan who was the smartest of the angels. She was always thinking about solutions and her strategic and calculated mind was a key ingredient to the success of their missions. Finally the last angel was Kelly Garrett who was had a mix of both good looks and intelligence. The three angels showed us how they can be confident and sexy by using many clothes and makeup to disguise themselves and fool the male criminals. • 5. Flag Desecration Essays Throughout history, Americans have fought hard to gain independence and the freedoms that come with it. However, some choose to test the limitations of those freedoms. For some time, Americans have shown their disgust of the American government by burning flags, and even cutting them up to use as clothing. Although mocking the American government and the flag is disrespectful, revoking the right to do so would be a violation of freedom of expression, which is guaranteed by the First Amendment. Those who support the no flag burning amendment argue that the United States flag is a special case. Because it would undermine the constitution and set a dangerous precedent that will make it easier for others enact restrictive amendments to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our constitution must not be tampered with just because flag desecration hurts others feelings. Many feel that the American flag amendment is a special case. Supreme Court Chief William Rehnquist claimed it was acceptable to have a narrow, special amendment to protect a special flag from desecration. ( Consequences 2). Even Thomas Jefferson and James Madison denounced flag burning as a crime (Brady H 2). Others feel that flag desecration disrespects those who lost their lives for our country, stating the flag symbolizes the blood that runs through our country. George Whalen, a soldier, said the stars and stripes of our nations flag is the symbol of our nation s values... It represents loyalty patriotism and love of our country. ( citizens 3). Those against flag desecration must remember that the men and women who fought and died for our country were fighting for justice, freedom, and independence, all of which give one the right to desecrate the flag. Yes, the flag represents these freedoms, but the constitution ensures them. An amendment revoking this right would lead to limited individual freedoms and a lack personal responsibility. In addition to violating one s rights of freedom of expression, the no flag burning amendment gives government the power to decide what American actions are and are ... • 6. The Consequences Of Domestic Violence Abstract: Domestic violence is something that is overlooked in many aspects. While reading my paper you will learn about different types of domestic violence. How every type is different than the other. Each type hurts not only the victim, but everybody in the abuser and the victim s lives. Children are usually the witnesses in these situations and tend to be caught in the middle. You will learn how this affects them now and how it affects them later in life. There are also many reasons that someone turns to domestic violence, and all of those topics will be discussed. Finally, you will learn about the treatments available and all the ways to get help. After reading this paper I hope that you will be a little more informed on the consequences of domestic violence. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of [some form of] physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime (Statistics). Domestic violence is one of the things that I think we as people don t take as serious as other things. Reading that statistic was painfully chilling, and the scariest part is how much of it goes unnoticed. My favorite part of the statistic was the part where it tells you how many men have been a victim of this kind of violence, because factually that is something that is always overlooked. Domestic violence isn t something that should be taken lightly and it definitely shouldn t be something that is brushed off your shoulders if it happens to you and/or if it s happened ... David Guterson s, Snow Falling on Cedars involves protagonist Hatsue Imada, and her spouse Kabuo Miyamoto. Kabuo, a World War two veteran, is trialled in court, the guilt weighing him heavily. Guterson makes the racism against the Japanese evident throughout the novel, and the impacts it has towards Japanese Americans. Ursula Kroeber Le Guin s short story, The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas takes place in the quaint, utopian city of Omelas, and the disasters that lurk beneath. The happiness of the citizens relies solely on the misery of a single child, locked away and hidden from the rest of civilization. The short story looks at an interesting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... David Guterson wrote Hatsue s cultural journey as rough and uncomfortable, as the tension between the Americans and Japanese were strong, and Hatsue was on the brink of finding herself and where she belonged. Hatsue quoted, I don t want to be Japanese, and felt tired in her skin. Guterson portrayed that Hatsue found it easier to deny her culture, than to accept the truth of the matter that her boyfriend is an American essentially the enemy . The American s and the Japanese thought it simpler to feud with each other, than to admit to being afraid of one another. Guterson explained, The whites, you see, are tempted by their egos and have no means to resist, and went on further to quote, We Japanese ...bend our egos, all of the time, and that is where we differ. The two cultures found that ignoring ways in which they would be able to fix their problems, and instead showing acts of blunt racism, left both parties at peace. They both had their prejudices, and sought it easier to act on it than do anything to fix it. A similar problem is faced in Omelas, as Guin quotes, Their tears at the bitter injustice dry when they begin to perceive the terrible justice of reality, and to accept it. The citizens of Omelas were content to distance themselves from the thought of the mistreated boy, and to acknowledge the matter for what it is, and move on. The boy s distraught feelings ... • 27. Bodily Products Should Not Be Marketable Organs play an important role in the functioning of the human body. We are born with them, and they work throughout our lives to keep us alive and well. Some people aren t so lucky and may have an organ dysfunction or health issue that requires them to get an organ transplant. In this case, a donor whose tissue cells match the recipient s must be the one to donate. However, this process could take from a few days to a few years since there are many people on the waiting list. This provokes the controversial topic of legalization of compensation for organs. Bodily products should not be marketable because it is immoral and possibly even dangerous. Organs were given to us when we came to life. We should give them to others as they were given to us. Why should anyone have to pay for something that can be given freely? If an organ is available, it should go to the person who needs it the most. No one should have to worry about the cost of it. Donating an organ can save a life. If someone cannot afford to pay for an organ, are we supposed to just let him or her die? That is not morally right. While the government plans to save more lives by legalizing payment for organs, it won t necessarily work out that way. • 32. Human Language And Animal Communication Introduction Firstly it is important to distinguish what is meant by human language and animal communication . By providing definitions for both in my opening section I will then be able to go onto compare their similarities and differences. Throughout this essay I will refer to the design features of language and by comparing animal communication behaviours to them I will be able to show the extent to which human language and animal communication are similar or different. Defining Communication and Language Communication can be defined as when ...the action of or cue given by one organism [the sender] is perceived by and thus alters the probability pattern of behavior in another organism [the receiver] in a fashion adaptive to either one both of the participants (Wilson 1975, p.111). Both humans and animals are able to communicate. Communication can be split into two categories: informative and communicative signals. Informative signals are signs sent unintentionally, for example a human could talk fast to show nerves. Animals can display this behavior too, for example an antelope running away from a lion would indicate it is frightened. Communicative signals are intentional forms of communication by telling someone I am a student you are intentionally telling them that you are a student. In animals, by barking a police dog is intentionally telling the police to check a person. The Oxford English Dictionary defines language as a system of human communication . ... • 34. Types Of Relationships Between Parents And Adolescents Types of relationships. There are different types of relationships between adults and adolescents and they all have different dynamics. Miller Day discussed four different types of relationships between parents and adolescents. Although they were discussed as parent adolescent relationships, these types of relationships can also exist between school counselors and adolescent students. Miller Day described laissez faire, consensual, pluralistic, and protective relationships. These types of relationships all differ in their combination of conversation orientation and conformity orientation. Laissez faire relationships have low conversation and low conformity, consensual relationships have high conversation and high conformity, pluralistic relationships have high conversation and low conformity, and protective conversations have low conversation and high conformity (2008). Awareness of the different types of relationships is important because it determines how an adolescent receives a message from an adult. Conversation orientation refers to the amount of discussion on a subject and the amount of individual input. Conformity orientation refers to the amount of conformity required in a relationship and often results in a because I said so type of attitude. • 36. Who Is The Hero Of The Hobbit 1. Who is the hero of The Hobbit? J.R.R Tolkien s The Hobbit or There and Back Again implements many forms of heroism; whether it be Bilbo, Bard, Gandalf, or even Thorin and his dwarves. Relating to this, there is no one hero per se but rather multiple; the heroes face both internal and external challenges. This essay will argue that the heroes of The Hobbit are Bilbo, Gandalf, Bard and Thorin respectively, in addition, this essay will also analyse the first stage of the hero s journey structure according to Joseph Campbell regarding Bilbo. Firstly, the main protagonist Bilbo Baggins sets a benchmark to the notion of an archetype hero. Kennedy, Gioia and Bauerlein describe an archetype as a recurring symbol, character, landscape, or ... Just as Campbell notes, the figure encounters a series of dangers, in this case being the trolls, the goblins, escaping from Gollum and going into Smaug s lair. With assistance from Gandalf the group is saved from the goblins; however, the dwarves and Bilbo are separated. The interaction between Gollum and Bilbo demonstrates a quality trait exhibited by a hero and, as a result, Bilbo s actions are seen to outweigh his individual characteristics. Simultaneously, Bilbo displays wisdom in answering Gollum s riddles and in turn exhibits cunning; Bilbo seeing what had happened and having nothing better to ask stuck to his question (74). In the same way, Bilbo s adventure is seen according to Pearce as a pilgrimage of grace in which he grows up (3). Therefore, Bilbo s main goal of his adventure according to Pearce is to eliminate evil amongst themselves (3); thus, identifying an internal quest. Particularly after Smaug s death, the corruption of the gold leads the dwarf leader Thorin Oakenshield to suffer from dragon sickness; the obsessive possessiveness of dragons (Pearce 83). The actions of Bilbo and internal qualities such as wisdom and cunning thus concludes that he is a hero in The Hobbit, however, other characters exhibit heroic qualities. Using 802.11 Wireless Local Area Network COMPUTER NETWORKS RESEARCH PAPER PHASE 1 By, Venkata Kannepalli 2628541 Durga Chetan Kumar 2627862 Susheel Sarab 2660333 ABSTRACT 802.11 wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) becomes most important these days. Whether it would be simple range extender for a home wired Ethernet interface, or as a wireless interface, WLAN provides mobility, ease of access and affordable. Most of the 802.11 wireless network uses the frequency of 2.4GHz, which leads the network to be unsafe and more vulnerable than traditional Ethernet networks. In general, security issues for the Network layer has been discussed rapidly, but where as for MAC layer security mechanisms has not been extensively discussed. Wireless network security has gained attention due to the vulnerabilities exposed in the open communication platform. Most prevalent wireless Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol is IEEE 802.11, which considers all the nodes in the network are safe cooperative. However, attackers may make nodes misbehave in order to disrupt network performance, obtain extra bandwidth and consume resources. These MAC layer misbehaviors can be called as Denial of Service (DoS) attacks which can disrupt the network operation. Influencing security flaws in the IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol even an average person with basic knowledge on wireless networks can launch MAC layer denial of service (DOS) attacks. In this paper we study two types of MAC layer Denial Of Service attacks that can be easily operated by an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The clinical case scenario presented can be approached from a variety of different theories from the field of marriage and family therapy. While each approach carries with it specific techniques and strategies for invoking change, I would assert that no one approach is inherently better than the other. A common characteristic among all the theories is that there effectiveness depends highly on the depth of knowledge of the approach, skill in the application of the strategies for change, and creativity of the therapist. With this in mind, the following text will be a separate application of MRI Brief Therapy and Strategic Therapy to the provided clinical case scenario. In describing the techniques and strategies of MRI Brief Therapy, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Watzlawick, 1974) It is assumed that if this complaint is clearly defined and resolved, that it will have effects on other problem areas within the clients life, those that may not be readily brought to the attention of the therapist. With regard to the resolution of the problem, MRI Brief therapy outlines three ways in which the problem behavior or issue is maintained. It is hypothesized that if the individual would give up their solutions to the problem, it will resolve itself. The following have been outlined as problem maintaining behaviors: attempting to solve a problem that is non existent, denying the existence of the problem, or solving a problem on the wrong level (first order change vs. second order change) (Watzlawick, 1974). First order change would be a change in how the problem game is played, for example, if individuals were playing with checkers pieces, but decided to use chess pieces instead while still using the rules of checkers. The pieces may have changed, but the overall rules remain the same. If these same individuals were to learn how to play chess, this would constitute a second order change as the rules of the game have now changed. Consequently a second order change can be described as a change of change. There are several techniques available to the MRI Brief therapist in reaching this change of change. These include prescribing the symptom, prescribing restraint, instructing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
