2. A public service is a service which is provided by the government to
people living within its jurisdiction, either directly (through the public
sector) or by financing private provision of services. It includes the
services provided, the contiguous interactions and the grievance
redressal linked with those services. All the aspects of day to day life
ranging from health, education, infrastructure and law and order
among others that the government provides are under the purview of
public service.

government institution to the general public as well as the
interface between citizen and administration
It is performed to the benefit of other rather than financial
gain
Public service refers to all public servents including those
to all in the defence ,judiciary, governace system who are
currently working to provide security, welfare and justice
to the people
4. Sevottam Model is a model proposed by 2nd ARC
(Administrative Reforms Commission) for public Service
Delivery. The word, Sevottam, is a combination of two
Hindi words: ‘Seva’ (service) and ‘Uttam’ (excellence).
6. Aims to safeguard the health of women & children by providing them with
a clean cooking fuel – LPG, so that they don’t have to compromise their
health in smoky kitchens or wander in unsafe areas collecting firewood.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched on May 1st, 2016 in Ballia,
Uttar Pradesh. Under this scheme, 5 Cr LPG connections will be provided
to BPL families with a support of Rs.1600 per connection in the next 3
years. Ensuring women’s empowerment, especially in rural India, the
connections will be issued in the name of women of the households. Rs.
8000 Cr. has been allocated towards the implementation of the scheme.
Identification of the BPL families will be done through Socio Economic
Caste Census Data.
7. The target to provide Eight crore deposit free LPG connections
was achieved in September, 2019, seven months ahead of
scheduled date.
The 8th crore PMUY connection was handed over by PM
Narendra Modi on September 07, 2019.
The target of releasing another One Crore LPG connections
under Ujjwala2.01 was achieved on January 31, 2022
LPG coverage in India has improved to 104.1% as on January
01, 2022, as compared to 62% as on May 01, 2016.

10. so far, approvals for around 1,52,130 Ayushman
BharatHealth & Wellness Centres have been accorded to
the States/UTs (except Delhi)
as reported by the States/UTs on the AB-HWC Portal,
1,18,150 Health & Wellness Centres have been
operationalised till 28 April, 2022.
