2. Daniel Jaller
I’ve always been an honest, real and
persisten person. Ever since I was four
years old and I had my first encounter
with music, I have deeply believed that
there is nothing more I rather be doing
during the rest of my life.
My personality is best described as
someone who doesn’t stop fighting to
accomplish his dreams until he does. I
like to help other people to find their
way to success, i believe in people’s
talent and those who haven’t been able
to find the right person to support
them.
Hard work, persistance, honesty and
discipline are my pillars.
3. Agents and
Business Managers
for Artists
Managers Craft Artists
Apart from being a singer, I have always been interested in understanding how to manage a artist’s
career. Being an agent is not easy, it takes a lot of guts to do it.
Managers and agents in general need to be determined, ethical and disciplined, as the artist’s future
depends on the way he acts upon people and the public overall. In my case, one of my archetypes
was the Hero trand Archetype, which sets me as a disciplined and persistent person. On the other
hand, the guy/girl next door archetype, which shows an honest, friendly and authentic person. Artists
need someone by their side who they can trust and feel like a friend, because he is literally the
person who will be by his side for his entire career.
4. Target Audience
Initially, recruiting managers in
different music labels; primarily
Universal Music Group, Sony
Music and Warner Music Group.
These recruiting managers are
the go to employers, because
their job is to create the best
strategies to improve recruiting
measures, work side to side with
the human resources department
in order to make the hiring as
accurate as possible.
In simpler terms, recruiting
managers are in charge of
hirimng the correct people to
accomplish the job and help with
the growth of the company.
Jordana Golub is a recruiting
manager at Universal Music
Group.
Jordana is a young women who
has been in the scene of the
entretainment business since 2012
when she started her first job as
an intern in Wilhemina Models.
Jordana has had experience in
several jobs before jumping to
the music business’s bigest music
label: Recruiting Manager at the
Creating Group, Senior Recruiter
at the Fender Musical
Instruments Corporation and
many others.
Based in L.A (United States).
Graduate in Bachelor of Arts
at State University of New
York at New Paltz.
5. Target Audience
Customers who should know me
are:
New artists who want to launch
their music career to another
level and don’t have the tools,
contacts, experience or
knowledge to do it by themselves.
Employers who should know me
are:
Recruiting managers and human
resources department at music
labels such as: Capitol Music,
UMG, Sony Music, Warner Music,
etc.
My main target in terms of
clients are artists who feel lost
and need someone to give them a
hand directing their project.
There is no specific genre, styling
or artist; new artists with talent
are always viewed.
Young talents, who are in love with music and are looking to make it the focus of their lives.
6. Goals
Short Term
Initially, to be recruited at a
recognized music label. I am not
looking to be hired instantly as an
A&R or an artist manager, but I
would like to start from cero in
one of my dreamed music labels
and stick to it.
I will maintain my online presence
as it is in this moment, in order to
be the top search when I apply
for jobs and employers look for
me; I will do this by constantly
updating my social media pages
and find something where I can
make people see me as a
reference.
Mid Term
My mid term goal is to be
ascended in the same music label
but as an artist & repertoire,
taking as much advantage of
their trust to sign exclusive and
talented new artists.
My LinkedIn is also something I
want to make sure gives
something to be proud of. I will
be making my LinkedIn a place
with at least the 50% of
interaction of my other social
media pages.
Long Term
My long term goal is to be named
CEO in the same music label. I
have always been a fan of
evolving next to the things we
started early in life, which is why
I would like to maintain myh
position and grow in the first
music label that gave me the
opportunity when I just
graduated.
The first five pages of internet
searches when looking for my
name, will be about me and the
job i’ve done.
7. Skills Analysis
Hard skills:
- PowerPoint presentations 90%
- Word documents 90%
An A&R should absolutely know how to properly use these two systems of work, as there will
be a constant need of presentations and reports to the music label and coworkers in his job.
Presentations need to be neat, balanced and accurate. Word, on the other hand, needs to be
correctly used with the space frames, fonts and colors needed for the type of job.
Soft skills:
- Singing 90%
- Playing the guitar 90%
I’ve always said i’m most proud about my music than anything else I do in the world. As there
is nothing 100% perfect, I don’t use it on those, but I think being a singer with multiple talents
such as playing an instrument, composing songs, etc will be key to make artists trust you a
little more and having something else to feel connected for.
8. Promise
Strive to achieve the best of new artists who decide to trust me in the process of creating a name,
marketing music and searching for deals which would absolutely benefit their music careers.
Artists struggle when searching for the right
person to trust when it comes to signing with a
Music Label. It is no secret new artists are afraid
of signing with the wrong people or someone who
doesn’t seem to give his 100%.
My promise to clients is to fight hard and committ
to their success. I will not rest until we achieve
the goals initially set when signing.
9. Credentials
High School Diploma in The English
School (Bogota, Colombia).
Soon to have a bachelor degree on
the Music Business course at Full Sail
University.
I have a certification on the Music
Production course and the Music
Business course at the Deejay
Academy (Bogota, Colombia).
The three jobs I searched had as a requirement a bachelors degree; In my case, in that the moment I will have
already my Music Business Bachelor’s degree. As an extra I have a certification on Music Production and Music Business
courses at a very recognized academy in Colombia.
10. Competition
Vs.
Elizabeth Jones, Manager, A&R Research.
Elizabeth studied at Belmont University in the
Business Administration course.
She has eight courses on different subjects that
relates to the music industry, for example: Copyright
Law, Music Business Strategies, Music Publishing and
several others.
Eight previous job experiences, in which two have
been at major leagues music labels (capital records
and WMG).
Based in L.A.
Daniel Jaller, Singer and future A&R.
Daniel is currently enrolled at Full Sail University, in
the Music Busines degree.
Daniel has had previous work experience in the Music
Industry by experimenting with his singer career and
getting to know the job of A&R’s and managers.
Daniel has had two courses meanwhile his studies:
Music Production and Music Business at Deejay
Academy. Based in Bogota, Colombia.
11. Nicolas Galat. Magician and special event coordinator
at Audio Video West.
Nicolas graduated in 2015 from Full Sail University
with a bachelors degree on Entretainment Business.
Since Nicolas graduated he have had experiences in
the entretainment business such as: Magic Developer
and Publicity Manager at Ayala FX and CEO at his
startup “Galat Magic Solutions”.
Some of the courses Nicolas has had apart from his
studies at full sail are: Professional Magician and
Illusionist at The School of Magic Arts in Colombia.
12. Ever since I started my path in the Music Industry, initially as a singer, and later as a soon to
beMusic Businesman, I’ve realized how complicated it is to trust people in the industry. In
general, in the entretainment industry we encounter the issue of who to trust and who to give
the handle of our projects, and I say it like an issue because in case it is wrongly handled, it
may be the point were our careers may be over.
Honesty, hard work, being realistic and well prepared are the things all artists need to focus
when choosing who to work with; because this person, will be the one you depend on.
My competitors (shown previously) are without any doubts, excellent people, who look very
prepared and well suited to handle an artist’s career. Both of them, each according to his
experience and years, have had amazing experience opportunities where they sure learnt a lot
and may have a lot more to offer than I do in thisa moment, but, I am a twenty years old man
who has strived to gain acceptance in the industry first by launching his music career, which
has been in my opinion, absolutely great; on the opther hand, my quizzez and life stories
confirm my pillars are honesty, hard work and persistance, which is why I am completely sure
I won’t fail to make my future artists shine.
I am Colombian, which means I know Spanish, my father is Lebanese, which means I speak
Arabic and I speak English and French too, which would be an extra, as many artists won’t
nessesarily be American only.
I am a dreamer apart from everything. Anything I want to accomplish, I strive hard to make it
real, because there is nothing in this world that satisfies me more than achieving my dreams.
13. These are three Music Industry events I plan of being present during the next two years:
April 28, 2021
MGM Grand Garden Arena.
January 31, 2021.
Staples Center.
Abril 10-20, 2021
MGM Grand Garden Arena.
In my webpage, social media websites and other platforms I will be uploading content related to the
development of artists around the world. I like to show people what a good strategy and work can do to
artists, which is why I would also love to upload success cases; also, I would like to write my own
thoughts as quotes, making my self explicit on how I think, this way people will see if they have a moral
connection with me or not.
Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok and Facebook will be the main social media websites I will use as tools
to grow my webpage, as it is the place with more accessibility when people are still unkown to others.
Finally, my webpage should show people the real side of me: images, quotes, news, work cases, a complete
and trusty biography, etc. This way, people will get to know me better via internet.
14. From 2019 to 2020, I will be studying at Full Sail University in the Music Business course, where
I will learn the basics of my dream job and collect the tools needed to understand how to work
withing the industry.
I already have a certification on two different courses involving the music industry and artists in
general, which are: Music Business course and Music Production course at Deejay Academy in
Colombia. I got these two certifications when I was 17-18 years old, making clear I knew what I
wanted to do with my life since I was very young.
Meanwhile I study, I am collecting as much experience possible from my music career, making it a
field experience appart from what I will learn in university and jobs in general.
I plan on getting masters once I graduate in order to be much more interesting for hiring music
labels and for new artists to see me as a go to due to my academics.
Some of the masters I would like to work on are:
- Entretainment Business Master’s Degree at Full Sail University
- Music Business Marketing and Management Master’s Degree at Berklee
- Business Management Master’s Degree at Full Sail University
Professional Development
15. There are obviously many things I need to improve in order to be a top choice when it
comes to me being hired by a Music Label, for example:
- Improving my online presence
- Have more than a master in order to be considered for a better position
- Making myself notable and professional in LinkedIn
Making myself more notable for this companies not only is defined by online things
such as the ones shown previously… Also, I will need to focus on showing ,myself as
the person I say I am. Finding the correct way to show I’m humble, a hard worker and
a dreamer.
In my opinion, the best mentor I could have is someone who has had previous or actual
knowledge in the position I am looking for; trying to understand how he has done his
work, how everything has evolved for him and his artists, etc. Taking advantage of the
mentor is very important, because he may be the bridge of knowledge needed in order
for me to be better everyday.

16. “You know how most of new arists are afraid of signing with the wrong A&R Manager?
Well what I do is plan strategically the path a new artist needs to do with the help of
the music label being signed in order for them to feel calm and satisfied with a job
being done at the time expected, without being frustrated. In fact, I know what this
feels like, because I once was a new artist trying to launch my career, which has
brought amazing things and experience to me.”.
