substantial liquidity problems and might be required to dispose of material assets or operations to

acts that may be in companys long term best interests, and may make it difficult for the company to

If too much inventory builds up, cash is tied up in goods that cannot be sold this is not good news
for the company. Management might have to slash prices, to move out this inventory quickly,
possibly selling its product at a loss. If AR is handled poorly, it means that the company is having
difficulty collecting payment from customers. This is because AR is essentially a loan to the
customer, so the company loses out whenever customers delay payment. The longer a company has
to wait to be paid, the longer that money is unavailable for investment elsewhere. On the other
hand, the company benefits by slowing down payment of AP to its suppliers, because that allows it
to make use of the money longer. Cash to cash cycle time ratio servers in evaluating how effectively
the company utilizes its cash in its business operation cycle.
CCC is most effective with retail type companies, which have inventories that are sold to customers.
The CCC is one of several tools that can help evaluate management, especially if it is calculated

Plato s The Socratic Method
Plato wrote nearly 30 dialogues, most of which focused on his predecessor, Socrates. His earlier
works focused on Socrates Theories, or the Socratic method, while his later works focused on his
own laws and Xenophon s Hiero. Some of Plato s dialogues include the Meno, Symposium,
Republic, and the Phaedo. The Socratic method is a form of inquiry and discussion between
individuals based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to generate
ideas. This paper is going to focus on a few of Platos earlier works and how they incorporate the
Socratic method, versus his later works that seem to go in a different direction all together. First, it
is important to understand that the Socratic method is a dialectical method that often involves
discussion between people in which one person questions the defense of a point of view; many
times the person defending his point of view may contradict himself, which gives the opposition a
stronger defense. For example, Socrateswould use a simple question to begin many of his
teachings, such as Is the pious loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is
loved by the gods? As an alternative example, are actions right, or wrong, based only on the
authority s approval of said actions? Socrates used this method many times to secure his point of
view. Although Socrates wrote nothing down, therefore not allowing us to truly study his point of
views or his teachings, we can assume that most of

Sonic Argumentative Essay
Sonic has several competitive advantages over other fast food franchises. According to our text
(Ferrell, O., Hirt, G., Ferrell, L. ,2015), Sonic offers a unique and diverse menu selection that
helps set it apart from a highly competitive fast food franchise market with little risk (p.169).
Sonic has also seized upon new trends and opportunities to secure more business. Sonic offers a
nostalgic experience for those who love a classic drive in diner. Sonic is a publicly traded company
and ranks as the 10th largest fast foodfranchise in terms of revenue. Another competitive advantage
that Sonic offers is that the chain is nationally recognized and has a national advertising campaign.

Sonic is already a known business with a national reputation and national advertising campaign.
Another important advantage that I think would be the most important is the support and training
the company offers their franchisees. Sonic franchisees buy into an already proven system
(p.169). Coming into an already established franchise reduces the risk of failure significantly.
Advantages can be personal and business (p.152). According to the International Franchise
Association website becoming a franchise owner allows you to go into business for yourself, but
not by yourself. Buying into a franchise like Sonic a person is getting an established and a
recognized brand that already has a customer base that could possibly take years to grow for a start
up business. Sonic has proven methods and food that people love and as long as the franchisee
offers the level of quality and remain consistent with the Sonic Brand local consumers will remain
attracted to their store. Other advantages for franchisees include important pre opening support
such as site locations, design, construction, financing, training, and a grand opening program.
Lastly, franchising also offers ongoing support such as: training national and regional advertising
operating procedures, operational assistance, ongoing supervision and management support,
increased spending power, and access to bulk

What Are The Eight Assumptions Of Family Systems Theory
Smith and Hamon, chapter 5, discussed Family Systems Theory (FST), which I found to be not
only insightful, but also beneficial to me as I assess my patients and their families, but also as I
reflect upon my own family. FST addresses eight assumptions which I found to be engaging and
shine light on how families function and how we as APNs might begin to look at the family
dynamic in order to better assist these families cope with the stressors of life while at the same
time address their family needs in a productive and meaningful way. The following are the eight
assumptions of the FST, 3 of which I will briefly discuss for the purpose of this forum discussion:

Watts Riot Research Paper
Yola Halpert
Professor Ottina
CRJ 102: Intro to Policing
May 5, 2016
The Watts Riots The Watts Riots erupted on the backdrop of simmering racial tensions in the
United States. There were many varied long term causes for the eruption of the riot that rocked
Watts and the surrounding areas, but the immediate cause of the riot was routine police work
police responding to a call of a concerned citizen worried about a man driving his car erratically.
The Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, was predominantly black and racial tension had reached a
breaking point when two white policemen stopped, Marquette Frye, a black motorist whom they
suspected of drunken driving on the evening of August 11, 1965. A crowd of spectators gathered

(www.southcentralhistory.com).The Watts riot was the worst urban riot in 20 years and
foreshadowed the many rebellions to occur in the years that followed in Detroit, Newark, and other
American cities (History.com). In the aftermath of the riot there were three major outcomes. One,
the McCone Commission was set up by the government to study the riots. The McCone
Commission found that people rioted because of unemployment, bad schools and education, and
prior instances of police brutality (www.southcentralhistory.com). A second outcome following was
an independent commission, chaired by former Illinois Gov. Otto Kerner, that investigated the
causes of the rioting. The Kerner Commission issued its landmark report in 1968, concluding:
Our nation is moving toward two societies, one black, one white separate and unequal
(www.cnn.com). Another major outcome was the creation of SWAT teams. They were created
with the vision of three police officers: Officer Nelson, who originally came up with the concept
of a specially equipped and highly trained unit, Inspector Gates, who spear headed the push to
make it happen and Ed Davis had the foresight to approve the program. The term SWAT was

7 Years War Salutary Neglect Essay
The British defeat of the French following the French and Indian War (also known as the 7 Years
War ) led to the end of salutary neglect in America. Salutary neglect was a period of time in which
the British interfered very little in colonial affairs, and this lasted from the end of the 1600s up
until the British victory over the French in the 7 Years War. The end of salutary neglect marked the
beginning of Britain s increasing control over the American colonies and attempt in raising taxes to
help pay for the war. The most well known legislatures they passed included the Proclamation Line
of 1763, which restricted the colonists from expanding westward, and numerous acts taxing the
colonies on commodities such as the Sugar Act, which taxed... Show more content on

Many things stayed the same, which is why the American Revolution was as big of a turning point
in American history, as most people make it to be. The most important aspects of American life that
remained stagnant after the Revolution were the class structures and social classes present in the
United States. If anything, the social classes in America became even more polarized as those
who were part of the wealthy elite group rose to power while the poor shrank back in oppression.
The new nation found itself possessed of enormous wealth so that it could create the richest
ruling class in history. When Loyalist land was confiscated after the war, it was distributed
among the Revolutionary leaders, so they could enrich themselves and their friends . The wealthy
were very well off prior to but also following the Revolution, as seen in the previous quote but
what about the Revolutionary war veterans, who sacrificed many things to fight for America?
Their lives were left off much worse than before, and were paid only $6.66 a month, despite all the
sacrifices they made for the country. Also, the rebellion left poor white workers and farmers in very
much their old situation . Their

Hermia In A Midsummer Night s Dream
William Shakespeare has written many plays, with more characters, storylines, sets and
intersecting plotlines then you can imagine. Have you ever thought of one character in his plays
that holds the sovereignty to carry out the theme of the story? William Shakespeare born in 1564,
began his career in 1590. A midsummer night s dream play was written in 1592, a romantic
comedy of 4 Athenian lovers. Hermis young daughter of Egeus Hermia has an unusual starting
right from the beginning, which allows readers to sympathize for the young character. The story
starts with the young lady of Athens who is known as the disobedient daughter of Egeus. She s
supposed to marry Demetrius, but she has fallen in love with Lysander. Hermia could be mistaken...

her. But as they reach the forest, the lovers get lost and they are very tired so they decide upon

for Demetrius and Helena. Puck puts the love potion in Lysander s eyes thinking he is
Demetrius, and Lysander wakes up he immediately falls in love with Helena. As Hermia wakes
up, not only to realize Lysander left her but has fallen in love with her best friend. Hermia Thou
art not by mine eye, Lysander, found.Mine ear, I thank it, brought me to thy sound, But why
unkindly didst thou leave me so? Lysander Why should he stay, whom love doth press to go?
(III. ii. 177 184). Lysander has now completely forgotten about Hermia. She is in the darkest
cave of her journey, the love she ran away for has now totally forgotten about her and she is
indeed very hurt. Hermia (to LYSANDER) What, can you do me greater harm than hate? Hate
me? Wherefore? O me! What news, my love? Am not I Hermia? Are not you Lysander? I am as
fair now as I was erewhile. Since night you loved me. Yet since the night you left me. Why then,

Short Story Of Little Petey
I was making a futile attempt at cooking fish when Sam strutted into the backyard of my house.
Well... not my house as my house had been set ablaze during Sam s fruitless battle with Drake
Marwin. That word perfectly illustrates Sam... fruitless , otherwise conceited works just as well.
Anyhow, Pete is still playing his game that lacks batteries. Batteries as well as a plethora of
other amenities have become uncommon throughout the FAYZ, but, thankfully, this does not
bother Petey. When I began to struggle to find batteries for Pete s game, I worried that I would
be unable to control Pete. It is amazing how Little Pete is able to adapt to the lack of batteries.
He somehow just imagines his game. Little Pete is the most powerful person in the FAYZ and his
game keeps his powers at bay. I have hypothesized that he manufactured the anomaly we live in
today. It is still undecided if Petey even knew what he was doing when he created this place, but I
cannot let people know that he caused this hell.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Key To Successful Relationships
The key to successful relationships is the ability to express one s thoughts, ideas and feelings
clearly, utilizing respectful language and behaviour without undue anxiety at the expense of
others. Assertive communication is the skill to convey messages to patients, families, and other
colleagues in a positive, caring, nonjudgmental, and direct manner that aims to acknowledge the
needs of others and oneself (Balzer Riley, 2012, p. 4). Working as a support worker with the older
adults is definitely a challenge. In my culture, it is emphasized to respect someone who is older
than me; and saying no to an older adult who asks for a favour is a sign of disrespect. For example,
my client would ask me to do extra work that is beyond my job description

The Importance of Night in Macbeth
When I thought about the role that the word night would play in the tragic play Macbeth, I found
that there were a variety of possibilities. Immediately, I thought of the nighttime as a period of rest
and revitalization. I expected that this would allow characters to recover from the day s many
demands. Secondly, I connected the night to the unknown. In the night s cloak of darkness, many
more things could go undiscovered than in the revealing light of day. Next, I thought that the night
would mean vulnerability. As the evening closes in, everyone begins to wind down, not expecting
any real action until the breaking of the dawn. In addition, while one is sleeping, they are
susceptible to almost anything. The most logical time to make... Show more content on

The night, however, gives her the impression that Macbeth can indeed kill King Duncan with no
one uncovering his contemptible crime, the same idea that Macbeth had when he said, Stars, hide
your fires; / Let not light see my black and deep desires... (I,iv,50). The night s darkness even
allows them to believe that they can hide Macbeth s sin from God, the all knowing One. Next, we
find an excellent example of night causing vulnerability in act II, scene iii. As King Duncan
slumbers in his chambers, Macbeth, bidding the firm set earth not to hear his steps, enters and
slays the innocent and unaware monarch (56). Another key example of night s connection to
vulnerability occurs in act III, scene iii, when the unsuspecting Banquo is murdered as he returns to
Inverness. If Banquo had returned in the light of day, the three murderers surely would not have
attempted to kill the nobleman. Finally, one can recognize the major role that night plays regarding
evilness in Macbeth. All of the evil things that Macbeth does in the story occurs in the nighttime.
Lennox states, ... the obscure bird / Clamored the livelong night. Some say, the earth / Was
feverous and did shake, in reaction to Macbeth s first evil act, killing the king of Scotland, as seen
in my word journal. Animals and even the earth itself could sense the horrible sin that Macbeth had

My Experience Of My Life In The Refugee Camp
When I was eleven years old, I was living in one of the small Bhutanese Refugee Camp called
Goldhap located in Jhapa, Nepal. Life in the refugee camp was simple for me since I was only 11
years old. But for most adults including my parents, it was very challenging. Since they didn t have
their own land; they couldn t eat whatever they wanted to like in Bhutanwhere they had large
arable land for plantation. People in camp were not allowed to work outside of camp. But to
provide for their family they worked laborious jobs such as stone breaking, road cleaning, and
ploughing (with an Ox). My parents did all they could to satisfy our needs and some wants. Ever
since I was little doctors fascinated me so when I grew up I wanted to become one. However, I
knew it was next to impossible to become a doctor in Camp because of financial situation. The
turning point of my life was when I came to America.
Thankfully, I was born in supportive and loving family. Both of my parents worked very hard to
provide for the family. My dad was a skilled carpenter thereby, he would go to different parts of
Nepal and India to work. On the other hand, my mom stayed home and worked. She would make
Nanglo; a flat, round tray made of bamboo and sell those to earn some money. Besides that, she
did various other works such as sewing, sharecropping etc. Even though she was busy most of the

The Ethical Theory Of Consequentialism
Introduction
Consequentialism is one of the three main normative ethical theories alongside virtue theory and
deontology. In general, consequentialism holds that the right thing to do in any situation is
determined completely by its consequences. This includes everything that will happen in the world
as a result of the action.
There are a multitude of variations branching from this which may differ in what part of the
consequences they value; and as such have different value theories, but all will agree on the notion
that the ends justify the means. Leaving open how moral goodness is determined, we will look at
act consequentialism as the most basic form of the consequentialist theory. Consequentialism as a
whole faces a lot of criticism, this essay will look into the demandingness objection to act
consequentialism and analyse whether the theory can defend itself through the introduction of rule
consequentialism.
Act Consequentialism
Act consequentialism claims the permissibility of an action is based on how good its consequences
are compared with those of its feasible alternatives.
An act is morally right if and only if that act maximizes the good, that is, an act is to be evaluated
on the basis of whether it produces the best possible state of affairs, impartially considered. If it
does produce the best possible state of affairs, then the act is counted as morally required (or
morally permissible if the act is one of many possible acts that produce a state of affairs

Sophocles Phaedrus Knowledge Bias
Phaedrus was told a story by his classical Greek philosopher friend Socrates. The story was about
the King of great city of Egypt, Thamus. He was introduced a lot of inventions by Theuth who was
known as the god of inventions. Theuth declared that his inventions would be available extensively
to Egypt s people.
One of the Theuth s inventions was writing and he believed that it can help Egyptians to get better
with their wisdom and memory. Whereas Thamus contradicted his approach and said this invention
can stop people to practice their memory and they can get forgetful and can be dependent on this
invention.

He conveys that bringing a new technology can bring many new words and also they have to work
on their old words too. His main concern was technology could be the cause of monopoly in the
society. It means that someone in the society whoever controls new technology will have all that
power and this could create disruptance in the society. Harold Innis used the term Knowledge
Monopolies in his book The Bias of Communication which also conveys the same message.
In this article, Author gave an example of Television that tells that TV has become very important

he mentioned in his article was about computer technology that has made a group of people more
powerful than those people whose privacy is risked because of them. This is all because of
technology which remained the same but has different effects in different ways.

Essay about Morality in Richard III by William Shakespeare
Morality in Richard III by William Shakespeare In Richard III, Shakespeare invites us on moral
holiday. The early part of the play draws its readers to identify with Richard and thereby to
participate in a fantasy of total control of self and domination of others. We begin to be pulled
into the fantasy in the play s opening speech, where Richard presents himself as an enterprising,
self made villain and offers an elaborate justification for this self he renovation. In the first scene
of the play, Richard announces in a narration, his plan to become king. Richard is truly a

A villain must also have scapegoats to use if he is discovered or if he is in a dangerous situation
. Richard devised a brutal stratagem to ascend the English throne. Brilliantly, he executed his
plan. Heartlessly, he executed family, friends, and subjects. Richard did indeed display these
characteristics and, therefore, fulfilled his goal to ascend the throne. One of many Richard s
brilliant schemes was to increase public support for his own claim to the crown. Richard, aided
by Buckingham, enacts shows of devotion, kindness, religiousness and other virtues, which
recommend him to the citizenry and especially to the Lord Mayor and aldermen of London.
This done, he finally wins the mayor and the alderman over and receives the offer to the supreme
seat, the throne majestically, the scepter office of his ancestors themselves, the lineal glory of his
royal house . After some false persuasion by the Duke of Buckingham, Richard finally accepts the
golden yoke of sovereignty. Some Critics feel that not all of Richard s victims were innocent, they
were hypocritical and were trying to use Richard, but that is another topic. Richard is, simply, too
clever to be outwitted. As a king, Richard did not succeed. He

1). Clearly, we have a broad mission with ever growing capacity to provide healthcare to our
patients. A key insight about the financial health of UHS is that we are performing extremely well.
According to our latest financial statement, we are ever improving our numbers. Our net revenues
continually increased from $4,900,147 in 2010, to $8,065,326 in 2014. Furthermore, our total
assets grew during this same timeframe from $7,527,936 to $8,974,443, resulting in an impressive
reduction of our percentage of total debt to total capitalization from 66% to 51% (UHS Annual
Report, 2014, p. 41). Given our investment in several new facilities in 2014, we continue to see this
sustained growth in light of those investments as impressive and an indicator of a truly a healthy
organization.

health as reflected in the latest financial statement discussed above, and react in positive ways.

on their performance. The investors will react equally positively since we have expanded our

backgrounds. Although there are efforts for teaching school children other languages, most
programs are primitive at best, left to be forgotten before the skills reach the point of relevancy.
Dual language programs should be established in the US wherever feasible to give parents, at the
very least, the choice to expand the minds of their children. Recent years have seen the inclusion of
voluntary language immersion programs in places such as Athens, Georgia, in which students are
taught from Kindergarten in two languages. These are steps in the right

Fantine And Cosette
Though Jean valjean struggles and conflicts only got more strenuous, he still continued, if not to an
even greater extent, his selfless devotion to the ill fated members of society. The exemplary
heroism, compassion, and love of Jean Valjean s character was further deepened through the
meeting of Cosette and Fantine. The mother and daughter both express a cry for help, a call which
although difficult to answer, was dutifully plowed after by Jean Valjean.
Fantine is a reflection of the horrific outcome of French society. Exploited by the thenardiers,
and undoubtedly naive to the intentions of others, she is the weak prey oblivious of her
predators. Jean Valjean steps into her life, and by doing so, he cultivates a strong empathy for
her situation, one which is quite familiar to himself. Fantine causes Jean Valjean to look back at
the character of his darkest days, and thus, make a decision to firmly not revert back to his old
ways. In fact, she is the embodiment of a part of a debt to society he must pay, and so Jean
Valjean is determined to help Fantine in any way he can. Likewise, he pursues the recovery of her
daughter Cosette in order to achieve completion of her final wish. Fantine impacts Jean Valjean by
acting like a mirror for his personal flaws, and continued to spark the seemingly never ending
selfless drive to make up for them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her effect on him is almost magical, and within him reblooms a fatherly nature, long lost since the
times with his sister s children. Jean Valjean nurtures and treats Cosette like his own, and her
presence creates a connection of love which neither Jean Valjean, nor Cosette have yet to feel. It is
not only the fact that he is bonded by his task sent by Fantine but rather, the most intense empathy
and compassion for the young

Biography Of Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton s Antarctic...
Introduction Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton was an Irish born British explorer who led an
unsuccessful trans Antarctic expedition that nearly cost him and his crew of 27 their lives when
his ship, the Endurance, was trapped and eventually crushed by ice. The Endurance party
repeatedly faced what were surely going to be fatal situations; yet each time they beat the odds and
survived. While their survival may be in some part due to luck or providence, Shackleton s
leadership is widely credited with tipping the scales in their favor. This historic journey,
documented in the WBGH film Shackleton s Antarctic Adventure (2001), reveals some examples of
Shackleton s transformational and transactional leadership behaviors and traits. History On... Show

After 36 hours of trekking across the unmapped island, they arrived at the whaling station. Shortly
after Shackleton and his team arrived at Stromness, a boat was sent to rescue the other two crew
members on the opposite side of South Georgia. Shortly thereafter, Shackleton set out in a
borrowed ship to save the 22 men he had left behind on Elephant Island, but ice continually thwarted
his attempts for more than four more months. Finally, on August 30, 1916, Shackleton was able to
reach Elephant Island and rescue his stranded crew. As he neared land, he anxiously counted the
figures on the beach and told his second in command Worsley, They re all there, Skipper. They are
all safe (Shackleton s Antarctic Adventure (2001) @ 37:41). Miraculously, not a single life had
been lost during the two year ordeal. Lessons in leadership Bass s (1990) transformational
transactional leadership theory contains nine elements; charisma (or idealized influence),
inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration, contingent reward,
management by exception (active and passive), and Laissez Faire (no leadership). Shackleton
demonstrated many of these leadership elements while leading his crewmen on the Endurance
expedition. Shackleton was certainly charismatic. He was able to convince Sir James Key Caird to
donate ВЈ24,000 (James Caird Society, n.d.) to fund this expedition due to his charisma. He was
also able to convince 27 men to follow him in his

Science depends on research. Consider our limited opportunities our lives are brief; our vision is
limited; and we can make huge mistakes, when it comes to events we think were before Bible
history. Here are a few examples:
How often the supposed deductions from some scientists are revised or cast aside;
With what readiness the assumed period of the earth s development is from time to time increased
or diminished by millions of years;
How the theories advanced by different scientists conflict with one another,
Considering all this, do we prefer to trace our descent from germs and mollusks and apes when
we could have an infinitely better genealogy: God created man in His own image, in the image of
God created He him ? Genesis 1:27.
We will look at some scientific evidence below, but first we see Bible history is supported by the
science of archeology back to Genesis 11. a chapter with the Towel of Babel that is the basis of the

Working Rights In The Late 1800s And Early 1900s
The working conditions and working rights in the late 1800s and early 1900s were lacking and
required some help to make more humane. Before any of the laws that helped reform our nation,
working in mines or factories was dangerous and not worth the effort. Secondly, the hours were
unethical, as workers sometimes had to toil away for 12 hours, seven days a week with a one
day break every two weeks. Workers who were fighting for their rights were not alone, as there
were some people who also believed morality was more important at the moment. The changes
made were for the better and made the world of hard labor a better place. Thankfully, these rules
were not ever taken away and people now live to know that they will earn the money and rights that
they deserve.
A miner from the 1800s had to work hard for little bits of money. One specific miner went to a
school with his three brothers, although it was not a good school since schools back then were
not the best, until he was twelve, when he went to pick slate. There were five kids that worked
there, one of which was crushed by 50 tons of rock one week before he was to get married. There
were many risks in mining, like falling rock, miner s asthma, powder, smoke, poisonous gases, and
bad air. Miners were living unfair lives and that was fixed well (Doc 1). In 1902, Theodore
Roosevelt helped the lives of mine workers by decreasing the time for miners to work from 12
hours to 9. Roosevelt also gave workers a wage increase,

Native American Art And European Art
Native American culture was a great influence on newly introduced western art when settlers first
came to North America. Not only did Native Americans have their own style of art, sculpture,
basket weaving, and other fine arts. Their artistic styles helped influence some European art and
gave them a different outlook on not only art itself, but a brand new culture that they have not seen
before. This paper will talk about the different styles of Native American art and compare it to
European art styles and artist, as well as going into detail about how their culture influenced artistic
styles. There are many different types of Native American tribes located in the United States, and
there were even more when Europeans/settlers first arrived on the shores of the East coast. In
the Subarctic and Arctic area (Alaska, Canada, and south of Canada) the only known surviving
art is the Petrgoglyph site in Ontario. A lot of these art were painted hides from caribou and
moose which were used to make bright colored clothing, tipi s, and beaded boxes. When
Europeans finally met these Native Americans, moose hair tufting and floral glass beadwork
became popular in that area greatly as they were influenced by the Grey Nuns which was a
Canadian religious institute from the Roman Catholic Religious sisters founded in 1783. The Yup
ik of Alaska had a long tradition and remarkable style of carving masks for their rituals. These mask
were classified as art due to their designs and

there is 100% probability that the forecast GT at all fields are above 68%. Second, the CoV level

Furthermore, the mean and median forecast values, which are $1,118 million and $1,114 million,
are significantly higher than the base case due to the influence of more profitable forecast results.
The CoV is at 0.1363, while the level of skewness is at 0.054.
Figure 4.25 Field B Post tax NPV Monte Carlo Simulation on Devex per barrel Field B has

Analysis Of The Holy Bible According To Pepper Wonders
To Pepper, what the scriptures described throughout the Holy Bible, from the devil trying to
claim Moses body, to Jesus driving out legions , and even tempting the Son of the Most High
with worldly offers, Pepper believes that this is the continuing battle for the souls of every child of
God. He wonders if there are some of Gods children among us who have totally given in to the
weaknesses of the flesh, and chosen the offers of the world over the promises of God. It seems
to Pepper that every child he has encountered in life started out free of the burdens of hate, and
prejudice. He wonders if we as the caregivers of the children of God begin the children s journey
into temptation, and reinforce it with our own hate and prejudices. We all have them, so we all sin...

Pepper wonders just how many we meet each day that have actually chosen the ways of the

Pepper that even though they were cast out, they still have great knowledge and great vanity,
that could make them seem as gods to those scripturally untaught of God s children, or those
willing to follow their desires for worldly gifts. Pepper wonders if they desire to be so much like
the fallen ones that they choose to be called by the Heavenly name, Lord, in many instances. It
seems to Pepper that they want to be godlike. Pepper wonders if this could be the beginning of all
the ills in his world, and all the ills of the world since our very beginning. These thoughts took

Analyzing Hilda Doolittle s Poem Helen
HELENNNNNN Helen of Troy is a prominent character in Greek mythology who is known for
her beauty which caused the Trojan War. She is often viewed as a one dimensional character who
singularly represents beauty. However, in Hilda Doolittle s poem entitled Helen , she uses an
analysis of the image of Helento support feminism. Her poem, written with three stanzas,
describes a change in Helen s personal state in order to emphasize the negative effects of
assuming that beauty indicates an absence of personality. Doolittle begins by describing, in
simple terms, Greece s unanimous hate towards the character Helen, whose beauty tears apart
Greece. By describing Helen as still and white, Doolittle conveys strong imagery of a
conspicuous lack of motion. All Greece hates / the still eyes in the white face... where she

6). Here the verb has changed noticeably from hates to reviles , indicating the Greeks increased
intensity of negative emotions towards Helen. Furthermore, Greece reacts with disgust to Helen s
smile, creating the sense that Greece wants to deny Helen all movement, feelings, and life. The
Greeks are said to hate her even more when she remembers past enchantments / and past ills (H.D.

War a past ill for Helen is a direct contrast to the unsaid ills the Greeks suffered in the same war,
which were much greater, at least in terms of life and death. Greece seems to think that whenever
Helen does anything, she causes trouble or reminds people of the trouble she has caused. In fact,
this stanza conveys the sense that Greece hate when Helen does anything but stand

Growing Population In Uk Essay
Briefing Note for The Minister: Report on the issues caused by the growing population of Deer
within the UK
The occupants of Great Britain are well accustomed to the species of deer often sighted around its
country sides and nature reserves. However, increasing numbers are causing great strains on parks
and causing an alarming rate of injuries to people and even fatalities due to road accidents
involving deer. In the coming years the number of accidents is expected to exceed the over
30,000 recorded in 2006 in Great Britain (Pokorny, 2006). The Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) and
Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus) populations are increasing in number, as well as increasing their
distribution throughout the UK (PostReport, 2009). In addition to these two native species, there
are a further four species of deer that had been introduced to private parks in the UK in the past.
The Sika, Muntjac and Chinese water deer have made the UK their home for the past 150 years,
as well as the Fallow Deer which has been around much longer. The growing populations of deer
are affecting the biodiversity, ecology (Fuller Gill, 2001) and economy within the surrounding
areas. Human health and safety, as well as the animals own welfare is also at risk. I encourage The

Breaking The Limitations In Music
Music has always been seen as a way of entertainment. Throughout many eras musicians have kept
their ways to their traditions. From instrumentation to the composition itself. Throughout the ages,
music has mostly been a set in stone factor. But since the 20th century things have begun to
change. Musicians are breaking away from the traditions of the past and reaching new areas of
music. Technology is developing to creating new sounds and instruments can change how to be
played and used. That musical styles have been developed and the compositions have altered with
devices that can record and playback music in your own home ... Show more content on

With his developments, the music world has heard a new sound. One of his major creations in
music is in fact a wire recorder. This machine may not seem like much but it has been able record
then playback music in your own home without the instruments themselves. This has truly become
a great breakthrough instead of needing a musician in the household to keep smaller gatherings
entertained. Now they can be entertained with only themselves. As said by brindle: (One of the first
electronic music compositions John Cage s Imaginary Landscape No. 1 (1939) had oscillator
frequencies recorded on two 78 r.p.m. gramophone records, but normally such a system was too
expensive and inflexible to be practicable.) It took a world war to produce what was almost the
right instrument the wire recorder which was later replaced by the tape recorder, so
manipulated, made permanent, or discarded, with incredible ease and at negligible cost. Once
the tape recorder was perfected (about 1950), and its potentialities fully realized, other electronic
sound equipment (either already existing or suitably modified) could be assembled to form the
first electronic music studio (99, Brindle). This development of the Wire recorder has lead to
such great historical developments. From the wire recorder lead to the tape recorder and soon
music was able to be taken anywhere anyone wished it to be. The development of the wire
recorder was originally made by John Cage

Psychopathy and Crime Essay
Psychopathy is a disease of the mind, in which the psychological state of someone has emotional or
behavioral problems serious enough to require psychiatric evaluation. Psychopaths have no concern
for the feelings of others and a complete disregard of any sense of social obligation. Psychopaths
are characterized by lack of empathy, poor impulse control and manipulative behaviors. They use
charm, manipulation, intimidation, and the use of severe to mild violence to satisfy their own needs.
Psychopathy is derived from two Greek words: psych, meaning soul, and pathos, meaning
suffering. They were once used to explain any form of mental illness. Psychopathy was recognized

Psychopaths can seem just like you or me, but when you are not around them this is when their
mental disorder kicks in. Psychopaths that have been put in jail committed three times as many
crimes per year then non psychopaths. 97% of convicted psychopathic criminals cause at least one
violent crime compared to 74% of non psychopaths. Psychopaths are shown to be more violence
throughout their entire life compared to a regular people. Psychopaths tend to have a greater
chance of failing on parole and mandatory supervision and have a faster rate of failing then non

The Effect Of Effective Technology On British Land...
In this essay I will be talking about how effective technology was in British land campaigns
during the First World War and the Second World War. The first source we are presented with is
source E. It is an interpretation of the effectiveness of British generals during the First World
War, written by Gary Sheffield in 2001. It s purpose is to show consensus of the interpretations of
the generals in the First World War, and to also show his personal interpretation. He is doing this
since he is a revisionist. Source E supports the statement because Sheffield uses the word Donkeys
to describe the ineffectiveness of the generals during the First World War and to show that the
generals may have made mistakes. However, the second part of the... Show more content on

However, there are also some limitations to this source. For example, it misses out a lot of other
technology which was used is the First World War, since this is only an extract we can not see
all. Another limitation is that the extract is from a book, this means the author (Sheffield) may
have deliberately controversial in order for people to interested in is book and ultimately get
more sales. Overall, this source gives us a bit of information, which both support and dispute the
statement. The first part talks about the mistakes made during the First World War, however the
second part talks about how weapons were used successfully, this shows that the source is
objective. Source F is a primary source of a painting, which was created in WW1 by John Sargent.
Sargent was paid by the British government to document the war, so it could be shown to future
generations what happened during the First World War. Its purpose it so make the viewer question
the morality of using gas and the possible affect it could have on thousands of men. The source
supports the statement, by showing the sun setting in the background it symbolises the sacrifice of
the wasted life of the men. The source also shows a group of soldiers playing football in the
background, this shows us that gas attacks were a frequent thing during the First World War, this
shows us that technology was not me to prevent gas attack, overall, supporting the statement.
However, the source also disproves the statement,

A Day Through Deaf Person s Eyes
A Day Through a Deaf Person s Eyes portrays the daily struggles deaf people must endure
constantly. The movie accurately emphasizes the reactions of hearing people to the deaf
community during interactions such as with the police officer and the cashier at the restaurant. I
learned that deaf people must be approached or interacted with via vibrations or touch to gain their
attention, and that this impairment sometimes makes hearing people offended if they do not know
the other person is not simply ignoring them, but rather that they are deaf. I also learned that
hearing people are made uncomfortable because of the general lack of knowledge about
communicationwith deaf people during interactions and do not readily acknowledge that the

Memoirs Of A Geisha Sparknotes
Introduction: The novel Memoirs of a Geisha is a historic fiction story in which the hardships and
blunders of the Japanese during both world wars and after are seen through the eyes of the
protagonist. In other words, this is the life story of the narrator. As evident by the title, the story is
of the narrator s transition and life as a geisha, which roughly means traditional Japanese prostitute
. The lives of geisha are very difficult, facing discrimination from the changing world and
oppression by their owners and bosses. Throughout the story, the author uses many literary elements
to emphasize the hardships and the oppression geisha face. In what ways does the author use
metaphors to explore the theme of Fate versus Free Will? This... Show more content on

On the way, he picked up two books with settings based in japan. He gave me my first copy of
Memoirs of a Geisha. As I read the story, I was very confused with some of the words used and
concepts, which intrigued me since that had never happened to me before. I did not know
where I put the book after that. Now, when I had to choose a book to write about, I saw the same
novel in my IB1 Literature classroom. At once, I remembered how the story had intrigued me
and how the meaning had been lost to me. I chose this book because it is challenging and
intriguing. My favorite source for this essay is the book itself, with the articles coming at a
close second. Summary of Story: A young girl with beautiful eyes named Chiyo lives in
Yoroido, a little fishing village, in a little house with her little family mom, dying of bone
cancer; sister, who is older but not attractive; and dad, who is unable to support the family.
Because the dad can t raise two girls alone, he sells them to a local businessman, Mr. Tanaka.
Chiyo thinks she is being adopted, but she ends up with a family she never expected; a family of
geisha in Kyoto, a long way from Yoroido. Chiyo lives in an okiya, which is a fancy word for a
geisha boarding house. The okiya is run by Mother, a stern, often cruel, businesswoman. Chiyo
starts as an indentured servant, doing housework and following the orders of the house geisha,
Hatsumomo. When she isn t cleaning toilets or

Management might have to slash prices, to move out this inventory quickly, possibly selling its product at a loss. If AR is handled poorly, it means that the company is having difficulty collecting payment from customers. This is because AR is essentially a loan to the customer, so the company loses out whenever customers delay payment. • 3. Plato s The Socratic Method Plato wrote nearly 30 dialogues, most of which focused on his predecessor, Socrates. His earlier works focused on Socrates Theories, or the Socratic method, while his later works focused on his own laws and Xenophon s Hiero. Some of Plato s dialogues include the Meno, Symposium, Republic, and the Phaedo. The Socratic method is a form of inquiry and discussion between individuals based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to generate ideas. This paper is going to focus on a few of Platos earlier works and how they incorporate the Socratic method, versus his later works that seem to go in a different direction all together. First, it is important to understand that the Socratic method is a dialectical method that often involves discussion between people in which one person questions the defense of a point of view; many times the person defending his point of view may contradict himself, which gives the opposition a stronger defense. For example, Socrateswould use a simple question to begin many of his teachings, such as Is the pious loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is loved by the gods? As an alternative example, are actions right, or wrong, based only on the authority s approval of said actions? Socrates used this method many times to secure his point of view. Although Socrates wrote nothing down, therefore not allowing us to truly study his point of views or his teachings, we can assume that most of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to the International Franchise Association website becoming a franchise owner allows you to go into business for yourself, but not by yourself. Salutary neglect was a period of time in which the British interfered very little in colonial affairs, and this lasted from the end of the 1600s up until the British victory over the French in the 7 Years War. The end of salutary neglect marked the beginning of Britain s increasing control over the American colonies and attempt in raising taxes to help pay for the war. Immediately, I thought of the nighttime as a period of rest and revitalization. I expected that this would allow characters to recover from the day s many demands. Secondly, I connected the night to the unknown. In the night s cloak of darkness, many more things could go undiscovered than in the revealing light of day. Next, I thought that the night would mean vulnerability. As the evening closes in, everyone begins to wind down, not expecting any real action until the breaking of the dawn. Next, we find an excellent example of night causing vulnerability in act II, scene iii. As King Duncan slumbers in his chambers, Macbeth, bidding the firm set earth not to hear his steps, enters and slays the innocent and unaware monarch (56). Another key example of night s connection to vulnerability occurs in act III, scene iii, when the unsuspecting Banquo is murdered as he returns to Inverness. If Banquo had returned in the light of day, the three murderers surely would not have attempted to kill the nobleman. • 14. The Ethical Theory Of Consequentialism Introduction Consequentialism is one of the three main normative ethical theories alongside virtue theory and deontology. In general, consequentialism holds that the right thing to do in any situation is determined completely by its consequences. This includes everything that will happen in the world as a result of the action. There are a multitude of variations branching from this which may differ in what part of the consequences they value; and as such have different value theories, but all will agree on the notion that the ends justify the means. Leaving open how moral goodness is determined, we will look at act consequentialism as the most basic form of the consequentialist theory. Consequentialism as a whole faces a lot of criticism, this essay will look into the demandingness objection to act consequentialism and analyse whether the theory can defend itself through the introduction of rule consequentialism. Act Consequentialism Act consequentialism claims the permissibility of an action is based on how good its consequences are compared with those of its feasible alternatives. An act is morally right if and only if that act maximizes the good, that is, an act is to be evaluated on the basis of whether it produces the best possible state of affairs, impartially considered. One of many Richard s brilliant schemes was to increase public support for his own claim to the crown. Anyone that has been on the received end of a disapproving facial expression understands how it can sting. I was thinking about how Thelma from Love s Executioner and she would have reacted to Dr. Yalom (1989) if he lost that poker face. There were times we can infer that he might have let his face communicate a judgement and it impacted the session. Consider our limited opportunities our lives are brief; our vision is limited; and we can make huge mistakes, when it comes to events we think were before Bible history. Here are a few examples: How often the supposed deductions from some scientists are revised or cast aside; With what readiness the assumed period of the earth s development is from time to time increased or diminished by millions of years; How the theories advanced by different scientists conflict with one another, Considering all this, do we prefer to trace our descent from germs and mollusks and apes when we could have an infinitely better genealogy: God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him ? • 27. Working Rights In The Late 1800s And Early 1900s The working conditions and working rights in the late 1800s and early 1900s were lacking and required some help to make more humane. Before any of the laws that helped reform our nation, working in mines or factories was dangerous and not worth the effort. Secondly, the hours were unethical, as workers sometimes had to toil away for 12 hours, seven days a week with a one day break every two weeks. Workers who were fighting for their rights were not alone, as there were some people who also believed morality was more important at the moment. The changes made were for the better and made the world of hard labor a better place. Thankfully, these rules were not ever taken away and people now live to know that they will earn the money and rights that they deserve. A miner from the 1800s had to work hard for little bits of money. One specific miner went to a school with his three brothers, although it was not a good school since schools back then were not the best, until he was twelve, when he went to pick slate. There were five kids that worked there, one of which was crushed by 50 tons of rock one week before he was to get married. There were many risks in mining, like falling rock, miner s asthma, powder, smoke, poisonous gases, and bad air. Miners were living unfair lives and that was fixed well (Doc 1). In 1902, Theodore Roosevelt helped the lives of mine workers by decreasing the time for miners to work from 12 hours to 9. Roosevelt also gave workers a wage increase, ... • 29. Native American Art And European Art Native American culture was a great influence on newly introduced western art when settlers first came to North America. Not only did Native Americans have their own style of art, sculpture, basket weaving, and other fine arts. Their artistic styles helped influence some European art and gave them a different outlook on not only art itself, but a brand new culture that they have not seen before. This paper will talk about the different styles of Native American art and compare it to European art styles and artist, as well as going into detail about how their culture influenced artistic styles. There are many different types of Native American tribes located in the United States, and there were even more when Europeans/settlers first arrived on the shores of the East coast. In the Subarctic and Arctic area (Alaska, Canada, and south of Canada) the only known surviving art is the Petrgoglyph site in Ontario. A lot of these art were painted hides from caribou and moose which were used to make bright colored clothing, tipi s, and beaded boxes. When Europeans finally met these Native Americans, moose hair tufting and floral glass beadwork became popular in that area greatly as they were influenced by the Grey Nuns which was a Canadian religious institute from the Roman Catholic Religious sisters founded in 1783. Her poem, written with three stanzas, describes a change in Helen s personal state in order to emphasize the negative effects of assuming that beauty indicates an absence of personality. Doolittle begins by describing, in simple terms, Greece s unanimous hate towards the character Helen, whose beauty tears apart Greece. By describing Helen as still and white, Doolittle conveys strong imagery of a conspicuous lack of motion. All Greece hates / the still eyes in the white face... where she stands... (H.D. 2 4). Growing Population In Uk Essay Briefing Note for The Minister: Report on the issues caused by the growing population of Deer within the UK The occupants of Great Britain are well accustomed to the species of deer often sighted around its country sides and nature reserves. However, increasing numbers are causing great strains on parks and causing an alarming rate of injuries to people and even fatalities due to road accidents involving deer. In the coming years the number of accidents is expected to exceed the over 30,000 recorded in 2006 in Great Britain (Pokorny, 2006). The Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) and Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus) populations are increasing in number, as well as increasing their distribution throughout the UK (PostReport, 2009). In addition to these two native species, there are a further four species of deer that had been introduced to private parks in the UK in the past. The Sika, Muntjac and Chinese water deer have made the UK their home for the past 150 years, as well as the Fallow Deer which has been around much longer. As said by brindle: (One of the first electronic music compositions John Cage s Imaginary Landscape No. 1 (1939) had oscillator frequencies recorded on two 78 r.p.m. gramophone records, but normally such a system was too expensive and inflexible to be practicable.) It took a world war to produce what was almost the right instrument the wire recorder which was later replaced by the tape recorder, so manipulated, made permanent, or discarded, with incredible ease and at negligible cost. Once the tape recorder was perfected (about 1950), and its potentialities fully realized, other electronic sound equipment (either already existing or suitably modified) could be assembled to form the first electronic music studio (99, Brindle). This development of the Wire recorder has lead to such great historical developments.
