The Life of a Butterfly
A butterfly s life starts out as a caterpillar, then a chrysalis, and finally the adult butterfly. In the novel
The Butterfly and the Violin, Adele Von Bron start her life out as a caterpillar as Austria s sweetheart
who very dependent on her family. She then became like a chrysalis, when she began to help the
Jewish family by feeding them and trying to help them escape. Towards the end of the novel is when
she transformed into a butterfly, because she had suffered with the struggles of the camp and met
Omara which helped her to become a strong and independent woman. In The Butterfly and the Violin,
Kristy Cambron uses the butterfly as a symbol to show the relation between Adele s life and the life of
a butterfly. In the beginning of the novel Adele s life is most relatable to the caterpillar stage of the
butterfly s life. She relates to a caterpillar at the beginning of the novel, because she is just a teenager
just beginning to start her adult life. By only being a teenager and she still lives with her parents,
Adele is not very independent at the moment. At this point she is making a lot of mistakes and she is
still learning a lot about life . The novel starts out with Adele s life about her playing in the orchestra

The Importance Of The Media Influence Public Debate
The first thing one must prove is that the media is an effective vehicle to influence public discussion
in a democracy. This is key before examining the motives behind any bias that exists. The reach that
different mediums have is the main thing that shows how media can influence public discussion. For
example, according to the Pew Research Center, in the United States, 93% of adults get their news
from digital sources.1 This includes online only news outlets along with the digital arms of traditional
news outlets. The ease of accessing media outlets is unprecedented when one compares it to previous
generations. With the number of people with smartphones growing exponentially in recent years,
people are having an easier and easier time to access the news right at their fingertips. It s not just
digital sources that are seeing an increase. News watching on TV s has also grown over previous
years. Neilson Media Research has found that news consumption through television has grown by
45% in 2016 compared to the year before. This also far surpassed previous presidential election
years.2 This prevalence of news in the daily lives of citizens is the main reason why media can
influence public discussion. Since there are so many people viewing so many different sources, that
fall across the political spectrum, there will many different points of view. This difference in
perspective will lead to people discussing their differences of opinion, hence encouraging healthy
discussion in

Citizen Journalism Essay
Citizen journalism is defined as any news content, such as articles, videos etc. created by amateurs.
Traditional and citizen journalism are often contrasted to each other, however it is important to note
the similarities alongside the differences. Because of the growing popularity of citizen journalism due
to new technologies such as social media websites, it is essential to weigh the risks and opportunities
to truly see how citizen journalism is affecting the world. It is vital to assess citizen journalism and its
benefits of collaboration and pluralising voices, alongside the risks of inauthenticity, bias and causing
an erosion in the quality of news, in order to fully understand its impacts.
The pluralisation of voices that citizen journalism offers is considered one of the many benefits.
According to Melissa Wall (2015) this allows for new and important opinions and perspectives on
multiple events. For example, in rural India poor internet rates and a language barrier made it nearly
impossible for the majority of citizens to listen to the professional media. In order to expose more
citizens in India to local events, Shubhranshu Choudhary founded CGNet, which developed into a
mobile phone service, allowing for everyday citizens to report in on and listen to local events in their
native language. This leads to more, albeit unprofessional, perspectives on events from residents
(Chadha Steiner, 2015). The internet has been credited with having altered relationships with

Flavorist Research Paper
Imagine being able to create different flavors no one has ever dreamed of. Flavorists get to do it
everyday. A flavorist is a food chemist or a food scientist who duplicates flavors. They can recreate
flavors using essential oils and flavor aromas. Being a flavorist includes having responsibility, great
skill, and the right education.
For starters, flavorists need to have the right education. Flavorists need a four year degree in
chemistry, biology, or food science. Certification can be a long process. To become a member of the
Society of Flavor Chemists, they need to pass a five year apprenticeship with a flavor house. To
become a certified member with voting rights, they need a seven year apprenticeship with oral and
written tests.

Geo-Located Asset Management at UOS
Geo Located Asset Management at UOS
Abstract With the development of the GIS technology inventories and tracking of items has been made
much easier than before. University of Sharjah has tapped into this advancement in technology and
employed GIS is security its property in general as well as using t to track the movement of their non
fixed assets.
Purpose
The research uses a number of methodologies like assessing existing system of asset management at
UOS, interviewing fixed asset managers, carrying out literature review of GIS systems for asset
management, studying the possible methods of interfacing this data with database maintained as GIS
maps. Open Source Quantum Geographical System software was finally used to draw GIS maps of the
UOS Women campus and UOS main building. GIS can be used be used in managing outdoor
infrastructures, natural resources, and assets like cables and piping system installations and vehicles.
In construction planning, GIS can be used by facilities and property managers to prevent costly
construction delays by knowing the location of utility lines, where environmental clearances or special
permits are required, and other projects being facilitated in such locations. With GIS, maintenance
staff and ground keepers can work efficiently with an access to an informed operational picture.

Holden Caulfield is Lost in The Catcher in the Rye Essay
In the novel The Catcher in the Rye, the leading character, Holden Caulfield, emerges as an
adolescence lost in his own private world of pain and suffering, yet ostensibly he was able to provide
himself with all the luxuries and splendors of American society. Holden is presented as a failure who
struggles to stay in at least one of the four schools he s been kicked out of. This can reflect that
Holden can t manage to get by in life. Throughout the book, it is obvious that Holden is running from
so many things such as growing up, reality and people who are phonies. It seems that Holden is
confused and trapped in memories from moments past, that he is dealing with loneliness and isolates
himself as a form of protection. Not only that but he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Holden seems to be lonely and this can reflect back to Allie s death. He doesn t really have anyone to
catch him from falling into the ravine, off the rye field the way he would catch the kids. He doesn t
have anyone to motivate him to succeed. The reader is taken back and forth between Holden s
remembering and re living the traumatic pain of his past with his family and the complete disconnect
he has experienced. Allie s death changed all of Holden s family as well as himself. It s almost as if
when Allie died, the household died. When Holden broke the windows in the garage, on the night
Allie died, he said, My hand still hurts me once in a while when it rains and all, and I can t make a real
fist... I mean I m not going to be a goddam surgeon or violinist or anything anyway (Salinger 39). This
disconnect Holden is experiencing between him and his parents is causing him to lose motivation to
succeed in school and in life. According to Freud, it s Holden s unconscious state of mind that drives
his defense mechanism to seclude himself from his parents and actually other adults as well. Much
like J.D. Salinger. Salinger lived in seclusion in Cornish, New Hampshire for his last fifty one years of
a lonely life. He wanted to live a private life and didn t want to be bothered. The defense mechanism is

Fractal Time
FRACTAL TIME (ESSAY) Introduction In his book, first published in 2009, Fractal Time: The Secret
of 2012 and a New World Age , Gregg Braden gave wonderful clues into what we would expect to
occur in our world and universe by the year 2012. Though years have passed since the first publication
of the book, the information in the book remains relevant to us today. Gregg labours to elaborate how
it is possible to read the past in order to discover what the future holds for us in our world and
universe, and amazingly, even in our personal lives and relationships. This paper is written in order to
analyse the Fractal Time book to find out what practical lessons we can pick from it. Personal views
on how to apply the concepts presented in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He begins by stating that even if the conditions of the past can keep on repeating, the events do not
have to repeat, except we choose. He makes it clear that we have a choice to make, either to take a
step for better or for worse. He solidifies this point by providing us with important discoveries, like
the Quantum Energy theory, the power of positive emotions and our Heart s Magnetic field influence
on our environment all of which depend on the power of our choice. Gregg clarifies that a growing
number of scientists have arrived at an inescapable conclusion that there s a place called The Realm of
Quantum Energy. These scientists have concluded that it is at this place where all things begin, and
where all things are possible and the kind of thoughts, feelings, emotions, and beliefs we choose to
have at this point is what will influence the results of our circumstances regardless of the conditions
we may be faced with. In this place it is believed, the atoms of matter are influenced by thought,
feeling, emotion, and belief to become the reality of our world. This quantum energy place is created
at the start of every cycle. Lessons Realized from the Book I have deduced quite a number of lessons
from the book, nevertheless I will choose to talk about what I think are the most important ones to me.
Firstly, I have learnt that it is vital to reflect on our past, because in it we find the evident cycles of the
future which

The Contributions Of Ernest Rutherford And The Gold Foil...
Ernest Rutherford was born in New Zealand and died in Britain, however during his life he worked
McGill University in Canada ( Ernest Rutherford Biographical , 2014). During Rutherford s life he
made significant contributions to Science; in 1998 when studying Uranium he discovered Alpha and
Beta radiation ( Ernest Rutherford: Father of nuclear science , n.d.). In 1903, Rutherford saw that a
French chemist, Paul Villard, had discovered a new type of radiation coming from radium, upon
discerning that this new radiation was different then the ones he had already discovered due to its
greater penetrating power, Rutherford named it Gamma radiation ( Ernest Rutherford , 2017). Using
his previously found out types of radiation, he discovered the concept of half life, how long it takes for
a sample of an element to decay to half its size. However, the most infamous experiment he did, was
the Gold Foil Experiment. In 1910, in order to confirm JJ Thomson s model on an atom Ernest
Rutherford conducted an experiment along with Hans Geiger and Ernest Marsden where a thin piece
of gold was bombarded with Alpha particles, while most went through (meaning that an atom is
mostly empty space), some were deflected, and a few even bounced backwards. This led to the
discovery of the neutron, a positively charged area of the atom which was responsible for Alpha
particles being deflected and bouncing back. With this new information disproving JJ Thomson s
model, Rutherford created a new atomic

participating in extreme sports. Extreme sports give you a rush of excitement which is said to make

Loss Of Life Exposed In Endymion By John Keats
Of all the great poets of the early nineteenth century, John Keats (1795 1821) was the last to be born
and first to die. Born in London, England, on October 31, 1795, to a poor stable keeper, John Keats
devoted his short life to the perfection of poetry marked by intense imagery, great sensuous appeal and
an attempt to express a philosophy through classical legend. Although he was brought up amid
surroundings and influences by no means calculated to awaken poetic genius. Rendered an orphan at
the tender age of eight, his father s death had a deep rooted effect on the young boy s life. In a more
metaphysical sense, it shaped his understanding of the human condition, both its suffering and its loss.

The Role of a Trusted Third Party in Enhancing Electronic...
The Role of Trusted Third Party in Enhancing Electronic Commerce Buying online used to be a bit of
a gamble. There were so many ways hackers could access personal information, or even companies
online could sell that information without the consumer knowing. Moreover, it used to be incredibly
easy to make purchases with a stolen credit card. Luckily for all online shoppers, this is no longer the
case. Third party companies like Verisign and Trust e are now strong providers of security measures
which ensure that online transactions can be verified and trusted, therefore allowing consumers to
have greater trust in e commerce and spend more online. Verisign is one popular company that acts as
a third party to millions of e commerce transactions annually. The company provides authentication
services for online e commerce transactions so that online buyers are more protected when buying
products and services online from their favorite vendors and companies (Verisign 2012). They are now
working with Symantec Norton, a major anti virus and computer program protection software
company that has gained a great share of consumer trust within the marketplace. As part of this
collaboration, Verisign also offers security services that are proven and trusted. One of their primary
products is providing companies with a digital security certificate that authorizes that you are who you

They result in a change in the structure resulting in hydrophobic proteins, these new prions congregate
with other PrPsc proteins resulting in plaque or aggregation on the neuron.
Prions (PrPsc) influence the PrPc proteins they come in contact with to misfold and begin to
aggregate. The aggregation leads to development of fibers or plaques. The aggregation of PrPsc
around the neurons triggers the cell to self destruct. It is also able to spread to nearby neurons resulting
in areas of neuronal death which results in the brain tissue having spaces of void which appear like a

resulting in perfectly structured protein. That performs its function as it should. When chaperones go
bad aka Prions, as is the case in Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), we see the wide spread
destruction that can occur when mutations in the folding occur. In Bovine Spongiform
Encephalopathy the PrPsc protein acts as a chaperone and influences the PrPc protein it comes in

these proteins form they aggregate with other PrPsc proteins. As the PrPsc proteins aggregate they

Islm Curve
Understanding Equilibrium in the IS/LM Model 1995 version Prof. Humberto Barreto1 Introduction:
This brief work is designed to provide additional ammunition for the student in the ongoing war
against IS/LM confusion and ignorance. The author has claimed in his Notes on Macroeconomic
Theory (1995) that, There should be no mystery or uncertainty surrounding the IS/LM analysis at this
point. IS/LM curves are simply a short cut to finding the equilibrium values for income and interest
rate. There are two equations and two unknownsÑwhat simpler strategy than to put them on one graph
could be devised? (p. 52) The author still worries, however, that the student is memorizing the
equilibrium condition, IS=LM generates Ye, without really ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The student should see that the existing values of i and Y will have a tendency to change. The interest
rate will fall because there is a shortage of bonds and as the price of bonds rises to drive the bond
market to equilibrium, the interest rate will fall. The equilibrium interest rate, of course, will be found
at the intersection of the Ms and Md schedules. Output will increase because a falling interest rate will
trigger higher investment expenditures by firms. The increased I will increase AD and, therefore, Ye
will increase. But then the higher income will shift money demand up, which will increase the
equilibrium interest rate, and the same chain will be triggered leading to a decrease in the equilibrium
level of output. The student undoubtedly knows that, eventually, after running through a series of
converging loops, the system will settle into a mutually compatible, or general equilibrium,
combination of i and Y. If you think the iteration process is a messy and cumbersome means of
calculating the general equilibrium, or final, resting place of i and Y, you should applaud the use of the
IS/LM graph. In one quick graph, we can immediately and easily see the system s general equilibrium
solution. From our initial i0, Y0 combination, the IS/LM graph allows us to instantly see the final
solution and to predict a decrease in interest rates and increase in output. However, a drawback is that
it does not show how or why

The Life And Work Of Joseph Stalin
Joseph Stalin, leader of Russia (1928 1953), created a Five Year Plan that included methods and goals
which were detrimental to Russian agriculture in 1928. Stalin wanted to transform individual farms
into large collective farms because he saw that the government was losing money to private traders.
This required that the majority of farmers would have to work and live together on large state run
farms. Through these farms Stalin hoped to increase agricultural productivity, to create grain reserves
for Russia, and to free many peasants for industrial work in the cities. In order to begin
collectivization Stalin had about 5 million wealthier peasants, or kulaks, deported and/or killed and
their equipment and livestock sent to collective farms.

The Exchange Rate And Auto Parts Manufactures
The case study The Exchange Rate and Auto Parts Manufactures shows two companies which are
suppliers to the US automobile company DaimerCrhrysler, and that companies based outside of the
US. As the consequence of the importing machines from the United States, companies faced
difficulties based on the exchange rate fluctuations.
First company SMS were faced difficulties with the exchange rate of USD and euro. The CEO of the
SMS Elotherm company, Udo Pfeiffer, took measures to avoid the loss. He raise price in dollars to
compensate the fall in the value of dollar, but finally manufacturers were constantly pressuring
machine tool companies to lower prices, not to raise them .
Another example of company shows us a company that was much more successful than SMS, Keiper,
which based in Germany and exporting metal frames for cars to the US. Company invest money in the
manufacture in Canada, when the exchange rate of euro were equal to the US dollar. But there were
some disadvantages of being based in Canada and it raised a costs of the Keipers work. In addition,
company faced problems with exchange rate because the company still produces some parts in
Germany and sent to US.

financial transactions within the country. However, between different countries is also necessary to

Enzalie Alternate Ending
Enzalie sighed sadly, loose pebbles crunching beneath his feet with every step. He could see his
destination in the distance, it was a miracle that the old place was still standing after all this time. Two
decades had past, twenty long years. He should have come back sooner, he paused. He should have
been back here sooner, with his brother. His hand clenched around the hilt of the old dagger in his
pocket. ...looks like we ve come full circle, bro. Enzalie fought back tears, smiling softly. This was it,
this was home. As he got closer he could see that the front door was off the hinges, this was not

stop himself from falling further by gripping the doorframe. The half shapeshifter had managed a
death grip on the wooden frame by transforming his finger into hard, sharp points. Sorry, you, uh, find

Analysis Of Three Models Theories Of Classroom Management
An analysis of three models/theories of classroom management Introduction This essay discusses
views on three theories of classroom management such as Goal centered theory; cognitive behaviour
theory and choice theory. Each theory will be demonstrated by the key person associated with the

Therefore, GCT is used to teacher s benefit, also helping students to gain confidence and a sense of
belonging which in turn will relate back to behaviour. Weakness for GCT is when some individuals
are not motivated to seek out group belonging. While other s may deny, hide and misunderstand their
motives to misbehave. For example, younger students may have trouble in recognising their motives
and older students may not want to do it at all (Lyons, et. al., 2006). GCT may be very difficult to use
if there are a very challenging student and lack of acceptance from other school community members

How The Black Plague Affected The World From 1558 To 1551
During Shakespeare s era, war, Kings and Queens, and dynasties influenced the important events that

elected to run their countries. Through out the era diseases such as the black plague affected many
peoples lives. A lot of countries had to go through war to declare their own countries and how much

Shakespeare s era the history back in the day would be totally different. For the first fifteen years from
1558 1573 a lot of events broke out in Europe. It all starts off in 1558. England had much of France
back in the day, but in 1558 that changed. The last piece of territory England had in France, Calais,

Romanticism And Gothicism In Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey
The class of the novel started just in the eighteenth century however since its exceptionally beginning
it grew quickly. The distinctive sorts of the class gain for instance a novel of conduct, a household

critical effect on the improvement of the entire type of the novel. In opposition to Neoclassicism
which adulated realism, Gothicism did not trail the principles of etiquette, did not matter instructive

increased tremendous prevalence among the users. In any case, after numerous books of the kind

Patience In Romeo And Juliet
A wise man does not try to hurry history. Many wars have been avoided by patience and many have
been precipitated by reckless haste says Adlai Stevenson, a former UN Ambassador who had to work
with people from many different backgrounds and get them to agree on sensitive topics. These
enlightened words from Stevenson can easily relate to the love story of Romeo and Juliet, a story that
tells the tale of two young teenagers who become lovestruck over one another the minute they lay
their eyes upon one another. The young couple desperately wants to get married, but their feuding
families, the Capulets and the Montagues, are in their way. Romeo and Juliet tragically decided to

Either thou or I or both must go with him! (3.1.133 134). The play makes clear that the death of
Romeo s best friend pushed him into letting haste control his actions, which led him to kill Tybalt. It
illustrates how anytime a decision is made in a hasty manner, it will lead to worse outcome. In my
past, I was in a friendship were I was enraged about some of the things that one of my friends was
saying to me and my friends. I became impatient and didn t want to try to work things out, which led
me to ending the friendship. If I would have had more patience and tried to manage the problem, it
may have prevented the awkwardness that still exists between us to this day and could have allowed
the friendship to stay. Another example from the story that illustrated haste is the passage, Thursday is
near. Lay hand on heart. Advise. If you be mine, I ll give you to my friend. If you be not, hang! Beg!
Starve! Die in the streets! (3.5.203 204). Shakespeare continues to present how the characters like
Lord and Lady Capulet reacted with more rashness and how their rashness continued to negatively
impact the outcome. Juliet s parents thought it would be best for her well being to marry her off since
she was upset about the death of her cousin Tybalt. They ended up pushing her into a situation she

The police force may be looked at negatively for setting such heavy restrictions on regular
neighborhoods because there are injunctions set upon the area. The people from the neighborhoods
would be the individuals that believe gang injunctions should not be enforced. One of the many
problems involved with gang injunctions is that there is not a clear definition of what a gang is.
Numerous definitions of gangs have come about through the decades. For example, the 2006 National
Youth Gang Survey defines a gang as a group of youths in your jurisdiction that you are willing to
classify as a gang (Egley, O Donnell, 2008). This definition of a gang is very vague because any group
of youths can be seen as a gang. This definition does not always work. For example, a group of people
who share a common interest like reading books or collecting baseball cards can be labeled as a gang.
The National Gang Center and federal law define a gang as any ongoing group, club, organization, or
association of five or more person: A) that has as one of its primary purposes the commission of one
or more of the criminal offenses; B) the members of which engage, or have engaged within the past
five years, in a continuing series of offenses; and C) the activities of which affect interstate or foreign
commerce (Brief review of Federal and State definitions, 2009, p.1). Another problem closely
associated with gang injunctions are the violations of constitutional rights.

with an insurance paper mentioning the cost of some repairs, on which was written Insured by MGM

them ever since. This information began my quest to find out more about the car. I have since learned

The Negative Use Of Technology And Young Children
Technology and Young Children
Technology is defined as a knowledgeable and skillful tool that provides a service to individuals.
Technology and digital media are tools that are used for teaching and learning. I will show how
technology can positively impact young children and how it can be used to benefit young children.
According to Positive Parenting technology and digital media provides the following benefits:
1. Cause and effect: allows access, curiosity, and exploration at a safe distance when monitored. At a
very young age children can start to perform a variety of actions and at a young age they are aware of
the outcome between those actions.
2. Enhances eye hand coordination is the movement of eye movement along with hand movements
simultaneously. Students tend to learn more when they interact with hands on learning devices or tools
that educational technology provides.
3. Fine tunes motor skills (pushing buttons, using mouse)
4. Encourages concentration and persistence that can build confidence and self esteem.
5. Increases technological competence. (BM, 2014)
Tablets are replacing the use of textbooks and social media is a commonplace for even the youngest of
users. When used intentionally and appropriately, technology and interactive media are effective tools
that can support young children s cognitive skills, social and emotional developments. There are a

Analysis Of Lucozade And Visiting Hour
Recently I studied two poems with the same theme, Lucozade By Jackie Kay and Visiting Hour By
Norman McCaig. Both poets talk about death and by using a word set they create a mental image of
what is happening and this reminds me of times were I had to visit loved ones and how emotional it
was. The poem Lucozade was written by Jackie Kay, it is about a girl visiting her mother in a hospital
before she passes away. The poem talks about death but does so in a humorous way, making jokes and
poking fun at a traditional gifts given at hospitals did you think you could cheer me up with a woman
s own? An item given to hospital patients. The mother believes they re making a big deal out this,
because she does not want to come to the realisation that he is dying. The daughter is scared her
mother is going to die. She clears the cupboard and waves her mother goodbye then walks home
singing and old song. The poem Visiting Hour was written by Norman McCaig, it is about a man
visiting his mother in hospital. This poem is a lot darker than the other and is not humorous, It uses a
strong death related word set to set a scene in the readers head. The man is fearful of what is
happening to his mother, He walks to her white cave of forgetfulness . He gets closer to her but never
passing the distance of pain. Distance shrinks until there is none left but the distance that neither she
nor I can cross, telling us in the end, we are all alone. The mother weak and exhausted smiles. On the
first line of Lucozade Jackie Kay tells us that the mother is not well and may be on medication by
saying high bed and sad Chrysanthemums . By using the word high bed we can presume the mother is
dying or on medication to stay alive, since high beds are found in hospitals and chrysanthemums are a
symbol of death and are given at funerals additionally the words die and sad are repeated throughout
the first stanza. We hear from the daughter that she is scared, Scared her mother will die, this shows
she cares for her. In the second stanza, the mother says she does not want Lucozade to be brought to
her. Lucozade is commonly brought to hospitals so her not wanting it tells us she doesn t not want to
face reality and is scared

Violation Of Grant Assurance 22 Essay
In the past, the FAA has found a constructive grant of a prohibited exclusive right whenever a Sponsor
violated Grant Assurance 22, without regard to the number of entities conducting the same
aeronautical activities or providing the same services. Under current policy, the FAA will consider the
presence of other entities at the airport engaged in the same activities before finding that a violation of
Grant Assurance 22 is also a constructive violation of Grant Assurance 23.
The Grant Assurance includes an exception that permits a single FBO if both of the conditions below
are met:
It would be unreasonably costly, burdensome, or impractical for more than one fixed based operator to
provide such services; and
If allowing more than one FBO would require the reduction of space currently leased by the single
FBO.
In other words, even if it would be impractical for two FBOs to operate at the airport, if the Sponsor
has vacant space that could accommodate a second FBO, it cannot rely on this exception to deny
access to the second FBO.
In addition, the FAA interprets Grant Assurance 23 to permit a Sponsor to offer commercial
aeronautical services with its own employees and equipment on an exclusive basis. This right is
referred to as the proprietary exclusive right. The use of the Sponsor s own employees and equipment
is critical to this exception. The Sponsor cannot rely on an agency relationship or contract the services

The evaluation of Wal mart in China in terms of PEST and SWOT models
Political factor
It s a trend that the Chinese government increasingly open market to foreign investors by reducing the
barriers of entry. Recently, the State Council of China has altered the foreign investment policies,
encouraged and supported the foreign investment on the service sector, especially the labour intensive
but environmental friendly business in low developed central or western China (Chen Liang, 2010).
The government has also permitted the foreign investors to set up partnership business with local
firms (Cao Tai, 2009) rather than formerly approved options of joint venture and wholly owned. On
the other hand, the current government and communist party are working to ease the social inequality.
The minimum wage and annual income protection have been approved and increased in China at
present (Wang et.al., 2009). Also, they have promoted the establishment of government led labour
union in major foreign business and expect to require all of them to set up in later (Kahn, 2006), which

Economic factor

The Purpose of the African Union Mission in Somalia...
The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) on the surface is an effective fighting force in
Somalia; however, the success of AMISOM is contingent upon Ugandan participation. The existence
of AMISOM is due to a long Somali history of political / economic instability and the current struggle
against the Somalia based terrorist organization, Al Shabaab. The overall objective within Somalia is
to eliminate or at a minimum contain the Al Shabaab threat. The creation of AMISOM assists the
Somalian Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and its allies to effectively target Al Shabaab while
using the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU), and African Union (AU) backed AMISOM as
an umbrella organization.
From the UN standpoint, Somalia has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, the EU, like the UN, is assisting with the famine issue plaguing Somalia, as well as paying the
total of AMISOM troop salaries. Currently, members of the EU are considering the amount to which
that financial backing can be increased, given that the Union is already financially burdened with
several projects in the region, and the funds initially reserved for AMISOM will not be enough to
cover the costs sustained by the increasing troop ceiling. The new EU Resolution 2036 (2012) states,
It is therefore vital, as stated in the resolution, that new contributors pledge to join the European Union
in providing financial support. The EU is active with the UN on international initiatives set out by the
UN Security Council Resolutions on eliminating piracy off the coast of Somalia. Piracy acts have
been occurring simultaneously with the instability in Somalia, further strengthening the motives for a
stable Somalia.
The AU operates AMISOM with the approval of the UN and is headquartered in Ethiopia. They face
many tasks which include health issues (AIDS/HIV epidemic), famine, intermediating in civil wars;
and improving the standard of living. According to their website, one of the objectives of the AU is to
promote peace, security, and stability on the continent. This objective directly aligns with eliminating
the threat posed by Al Shabaab.
Due to these instabilities within Somalia, it was essential for the UN, EU, and AU to combine their
efforts and form an

Columbus Didn T Discover Us Leppzer
The short film Columbus Didn t Discover Us by Robbie Leppzer explores the cultures and opinions of
the indigenous populations of the Americas that were on the continent prior to Christopher Columbus
arrival in 1492. The video coincides with the five hundred year anniversary of his discovery. However,
instead of celebrating, the indigenous populations from all over the continents gathered together in
Ecuador to participate in the historic first continental conference of indigenous peoples (Leppzer).
They discuss the impact that Columbus had on the land, but also their hopes for the future. The
diverse variety of indigenous populations gathered at the conference speaks to the great effect
Columbus had on the entire North, South, and Central

This is key before examining the motives behind any bias that exists. The reach that different mediums have is the main thing that shows how media can influence public discussion. For example, according to the Pew Research Center, in the United States, 93% of adults get their news from digital sources.1 This includes online only news outlets along with the digital arms of traditional news outlets. The ease of accessing media outlets is unprecedented when one compares it to previous generations. With the number of people with smartphones growing exponentially in recent years, people are having an easier and easier time to access the news right at their fingertips. It s not just digital sources that are seeing an increase. News watching on TV s has also grown over previous years. Neilson Media Research has found that news consumption through television has grown by 45% in 2016 compared to the year before. This also far surpassed previous presidential election years.2 This prevalence of news in the daily lives of citizens is the main reason why media can influence public discussion. Since there are so many people viewing so many different sources, that fall across the political spectrum, there will many different points of view. This difference in perspective will lead to people discussing their differences of opinion, hence encouraging healthy discussion in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Citizen Journalism Essay Citizen journalism is defined as any news content, such as articles, videos etc. created by amateurs. Traditional and citizen journalism are often contrasted to each other, however it is important to note the similarities alongside the differences. Because of the growing popularity of citizen journalism due to new technologies such as social media websites, it is essential to weigh the risks and opportunities to truly see how citizen journalism is affecting the world. It is vital to assess citizen journalism and its benefits of collaboration and pluralising voices, alongside the risks of inauthenticity, bias and causing an erosion in the quality of news, in order to fully understand its impacts. The pluralisation of voices that citizen journalism offers is considered one of the many benefits. According to Melissa Wall (2015) this allows for new and important opinions and perspectives on multiple events. For example, in rural India poor internet rates and a language barrier made it nearly impossible for the majority of citizens to listen to the professional media. In order to expose more citizens in India to local events, Shubhranshu Choudhary founded CGNet, which developed into a mobile phone service, allowing for everyday citizens to report in on and listen to local events in their native language. This leads to more, albeit unprofessional, perspectives on events from residents (Chadha Steiner, 2015). The internet has been credited with having altered relationships with ... Though years have passed since the first publication of the book, the information in the book remains relevant to us today. Gregg labours to elaborate how it is possible to read the past in order to discover what the future holds for us in our world and universe, and amazingly, even in our personal lives and relationships. He makes it clear that we have a choice to make, either to take a step for better or for worse. He solidifies this point by providing us with important discoveries, like the Quantum Energy theory, the power of positive emotions and our Heart s Magnetic field influence on our environment all of which depend on the power of our choice. Gregg clarifies that a growing number of scientists have arrived at an inescapable conclusion that there s a place called The Realm of Quantum Energy. These scientists have concluded that it is at this place where all things begin, and where all things are possible and the kind of thoughts, feelings, emotions, and beliefs we choose to have at this point is what will influence the results of our circumstances regardless of the conditions we may be faced with. In this place it is believed, the atoms of matter are influenced by thought, feeling, emotion, and belief to become the reality of our world. This quantum energy place is created at the start of every cycle. Lessons Realized from the Book I have deduced quite a number of lessons from the book, nevertheless I will choose to talk about what I think are the most important ones to me. Ernest Rutherford was born in New Zealand and died in Britain, however during his life he worked McGill University in Canada ( Ernest Rutherford Biographical , 2014). During Rutherford s life he made significant contributions to Science; in 1998 when studying Uranium he discovered Alpha and Beta radiation ( Ernest Rutherford: Father of nuclear science , n.d.). In 1903, Rutherford saw that a French chemist, Paul Villard, had discovered a new type of radiation coming from radium, upon discerning that this new radiation was different then the ones he had already discovered due to its greater penetrating power, Rutherford named it Gamma radiation ( Ernest Rutherford , 2017). Using his previously found out types of radiation, he discovered the concept of half life, how long it takes for a sample of an element to decay to half its size. However, the most infamous experiment he did, was the Gold Foil Experiment. In 1910, in order to confirm JJ Thomson s model on an atom Ernest Rutherford conducted an experiment along with Hans Geiger and Ernest Marsden where a thin piece of gold was bombarded with Alpha particles, while most went through (meaning that an atom is mostly empty space), some were deflected, and a few even bounced backwards. This led to the discovery of the neutron, a positively charged area of the atom which was responsible for Alpha particles being deflected and bouncing back. With this new information disproving JJ Thomson s model, Rutherford created a new atomic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The student should see that the existing values of i and Y will have a tendency to change. The interest rate will fall because there is a shortage of bonds and as the price of bonds rises to drive the bond market to equilibrium, the interest rate will fall. The equilibrium interest rate, of course, will be found at the intersection of the Ms and Md schedules. Output will increase because a falling interest rate will trigger higher investment expenditures by firms. The increased I will increase AD and, therefore, Ye will increase. But then the higher income will shift money demand up, which will increase the equilibrium interest rate, and the same chain will be triggered leading to a decrease in the equilibrium level of output. The student undoubtedly knows that, eventually, after running through a series of converging loops, the system will settle into a mutually compatible, or general equilibrium, combination of i and Y. If you think the iteration process is a messy and cumbersome means of calculating the general equilibrium, or final, resting place of i and Y, you should applaud the use of the IS/LM graph. In one quick graph, we can immediately and easily see the system s general equilibrium solution. From our initial i0, Y0 combination, the IS/LM graph allows us to instantly see the final solution and to predict a decrease in interest rates and increase in output. Many wars have been avoided by patience and many have been precipitated by reckless haste says Adlai Stevenson, a former UN Ambassador who had to work with people from many different backgrounds and get them to agree on sensitive topics. These enlightened words from Stevenson can easily relate to the love story of Romeo and Juliet, a story that tells the tale of two young teenagers who become lovestruck over one another the minute they lay their eyes upon one another. (3.1.133 134). The play makes clear that the death of Romeo s best friend pushed him into letting haste control his actions, which led him to kill Tybalt. It illustrates how anytime a decision is made in a hasty manner, it will lead to worse outcome. In my past, I was in a friendship were I was enraged about some of the things that one of my friends was saying to me and my friends. I became impatient and didn t want to try to work things out, which led me to ending the friendship. If I would have had more patience and tried to manage the problem, it may have prevented the awkwardness that still exists between us to this day and could have allowed the friendship to stay. Another example from the story that illustrated haste is the passage, Thursday is near. Lay hand on heart. Advise. If you be mine, I ll give you to my friend. If you be not, hang! Beg! Starve! Die in the streets! (3.5.203 204). Shakespeare continues to present how the characters like Lord and Lady Capulet reacted with more rashness and how their rashness continued to negatively impact the outcome. For example, the 2006 National Youth Gang Survey defines a gang as a group of youths in your jurisdiction that you are willing to classify as a gang (Egley, O Donnell, 2008). • 39. Analysis Of Lucozade And Visiting Hour Recently I studied two poems with the same theme, Lucozade By Jackie Kay and Visiting Hour By Norman McCaig. Both poets talk about death and by using a word set they create a mental image of what is happening and this reminds me of times were I had to visit loved ones and how emotional it was. The poem Lucozade was written by Jackie Kay, it is about a girl visiting her mother in a hospital before she passes away. The poem talks about death but does so in a humorous way, making jokes and poking fun at a traditional gifts given at hospitals did you think you could cheer me up with a woman s own? An item given to hospital patients. The mother believes they re making a big deal out this, because she does not want to come to the realisation that he is dying. The daughter is scared her mother is going to die. She clears the cupboard and waves her mother goodbye then walks home singing and old song. The poem Visiting Hour was written by Norman McCaig, it is about a man visiting his mother in hospital. This poem is a lot darker than the other and is not humorous, It uses a strong death related word set to set a scene in the readers head. The man is fearful of what is happening to his mother, He walks to her white cave of forgetfulness . He gets closer to her but never passing the distance of pain. Distance shrinks until there is none left but the distance that neither she nor I can cross, telling us in the end, we are all alone. The mother weak and exhausted smiles. On the first line of Lucozade Jackie Kay tells us that the mother is not well and may be on medication by saying high bed and sad Chrysanthemums . By using the word high bed we can presume the mother is dying or on medication to stay alive, since high beds are found in hospitals and chrysanthemums are a symbol of death and are given at funerals additionally the words die and sad are repeated throughout the first stanza. We hear from the daughter that she is scared, Scared her mother will die, this shows she cares for her. In the second stanza, the mother says she does not want Lucozade to be brought to her.
