The Issue Of International Relations
The issue of (in)security is increasingly present in academic debates and in national and international
political agendas. In the light of this scenario, many different theories in the field of International
Relations aim to explain (in)security in the modern world. One of the most influential approaches is
the theory of securitization , developed by the Copenhagen School , in which the work of Ole Wæver,
Barry Buzan, and others stand out. Moving away from traditionalist views on security, this theory
proposes that an issue will be considered an existential threat to be countered not because it possess an
objective danger in itself but because it was shaped/constructed, through a process called
securitization, to be perceived in that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After that, an investigation about the development of the construction of the drug dealer as a threat
within the Brazilian context will be held. Finally, the analysis will focus on the security policies
adopted by the government of Rio de Janeiro in relation to the drug issue. Here, it will be given more
attention to the phenomenon of the militarization of civil public space, and particularly of security
apparatus, as everyday forms of state coercion. In this sense, the model of community policing called
UPP (Pacifying Police Units) implemented in slums will be explored, and so the military invasions
that preceded the establishment of these units.
Like many states in Latin America, Brazil suffers from high rates of urban violence and an ongoing
militarized conflict against illegal drug dealing. Influenced by the North American conservative
politics in the 70s, the war on drugs has recycled the internal enemy from the image of the subversive
that is a result of the cycle of military dictatorships to the drug dealer , and has created conditions for
the intensification of a real bellicose security agenda to contain the problem (Batista and Lopes, 2004,
p. 8).
Regarding the security policies, since 2008, the Security Bureau in Rio de Janeiro initiated the
establishment of a Police Pacification Units program (UPP) in the slums. Based on the Colombian
experience of Medellín, the public security

Credit Cards. Most Of Use Them. Most Of Us Don’T Use Them.
Credit cards. Most of use them. Most of us don t use them. I personally have multiple credit cards and
I use only credit cards for all of my daily purchases. And the reason why is because it is better than
using cash and a debit card in almost every possible way.
As a guy who lives with a frugal lifestyle, I often find myself baffled when people don t use their
credit cards often. It s either cash or debit card, which is understandable, but not reasonable.
I want to share my knowledge and experience that I have in using credit cards on a daily basis, so that
everyone in this room can walk out with a different perspective of using a credit card.

Which falls perfectly with debit cards as none of that problem exists since every transaction swiped
with a card is kept with the bank as stated by Fox Business. However, that fact alone doesn t save
debit cards from their own faulty reasons in using one.
Security and fraud protection is one of the biggest reason why a person should avoid using a debit
card. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act of 1975, both the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and EFTA
(European Free Trade Association) states that if you lose your debit card to theft, you only have a
limited amount of time to report the lost before your entire checking account gets drained (Consumer
Information, The Federal Trade Commission). It can get even worst. CNN interviewed a science
fiction author named Jay Lake, who was battling advanced colon cancer and managed to fundraise
over $20,000 to help battle against the cancer (Pepitone, Julianne). As positive as that made sound,
Lake was enraged when he found out that PayPal froze his account as they needed documents to
approve the large transaction. In fact, PayPal, and among other payment operators has the right to
freeze an account up to 180 days according to their term of service (User Agreement, PayPal). To put
it another way, that is 6 months of not being able to access your money for any type of situations.
Fortunately, Lake was already going viral back then and PayPal was able to unfreeze his account
within 72 hours.

Data Storage And Communication Systems Essay
Abstract Encryption is widely used to ensure security in data storage and communication systems.
This paper introduces a new concept for image encryption using a new method we named it Meaning
Of Location (MOL) . In this method, the private key is an image that converted into RGB numbers
and the public key is random integers used to permutate the image. The location of the RGB will be
used to encrypt the plaintext. The performance of this algorithm is investigated against many different
attacks such as ciphertext attacks, plaintext attacks and brute force attack. The analysis and statistical
tests show the strength of this algorithm. The results show that the MOL algorithm is suitable for
securing wired and wireless communication systems such as smartcards and cell phone services.

The Moves That Matter In Academic Writing
In the introduction to They say, I say : The moves That Matter in Academic Writing, Gerald Graff,
Cathy Birkenstein and Russel Durst use some sample templates to state their idea, which is it useful in
academic writing to transmute the simple expression of personal view into a response to third party
view by your personal view. Meanwhile, they argue against the ideas that using templates will stifle
creative and indulge plagiarizing. Thus, Gerald Graff, Cathy Birkenstein and Russel Durst in chapter
one provide some templates to help readers to use the third party ideas, which are they say, in the own
essay by more effective ways. Then, the authors state that a quick and clear expression to the idea

Gender Differences Between Women And Women Facing Housing...
Because the program targets at homeless families population, they are both men and women. The
analysis of CVA to this program has no significant influence on gender difference when both men and
women facing housing crisis and entering in the program.
Physical/material Capacities
 CCH provides temporary residence to clients, so that they can live in private apartment. Families
obtain more time and privacy in their own home, compared to live at the family shelter, where
families have to share restroom and kitchen with others. Living at private apartment, the family can
enjoy cooking with some older child sometimes, and they can have a private space to enjoy other
leisure. The apartment is a clean, safe and homely studio room. The program provides some basic
household essentials and furniture. A program staff is in charge of residential repairment to ensure
families live in a safe environment. CCH also is a drug and alcohol free program, so families do not
worry about exposing drug, alcohol, and smoking. In addition, children can play at the community
playground inside the resident area. The program enhances both women and men s capacity of
physical safety.

The Frontier Of Commercial Space On Low Earth Orbit
In this article, I am going to talk about two companies in the frontier of commercial space in Low
Earth Orbit. On the one hand, there is one of the first pioneers in commercial space flight, Virgin
Galactic. On the other hand, there is the current rock star SpaceX. Both founded by celebrities, Space
X is not only being the delivery boy International Space Station by Dragon but also on the road to the
red planet, putting humans on Mars by 2026 with Mars Colonial Transporter. Meanwhile, after the
fatal crash of SpaceShipTwo in 2014, Virgin Galactic is trying to recover by putting version two of

rocket booster after launching it to the space carrying eleven Orbcomm communications satellites,
Falcon 9 is highly likely become the world s first truly reusable rockets.
In addition, currently under development, SpaceX s another rocket model, Falcon Heavy is scheduled
to launch later this year in Kennedy Space Centre LC39A, Florida. SpaceX described Falcon Heavy as
the most powerful operational rocket in the world by a factor of two . According to official data from
SpaceX, Falcon Heavy can 21.2 metric tons payload to Geostationary Transfer Orbit or 53 metric tons

Essay about Stakeholders of the Offshore Wind Company
Stakeholders of the Offshore Wind Company A business s stakeholders are the people who are
affected by the actions of the business. In this case, the Offshore Wind Company (ltd). In this piece, I
am looking to investigate the importance of shareholders, their interests, environmental thoughts, and
their adverse to success. Stakeholders are very important in today s modern society, as they can hold
the key to the company s success. They take care of the financial issues, and decisions made by and
for the company. The six main stakeholders are Financiers, Pressure groups, Suppliers, Employees,
Owners, and, of course, the Local Community. Stakeholders can range from central ... Show more

A typical example would be environmental pressure groups, protesting against wind turbines on the
coast. This could be because the seabed would be disturbed and damaged, and the local fishing would
be disrupted. Suppliers like to be consulted beforehand also, as this gives them time to prepare the
produce so as its ready for the Offshore Wind Company when they want it. If it weren t ready when
the Company need it, they might look somewhere else for supplies, so the suppliers wouldn t get their
income capital. Local community could be against the wind turbines ruining the countryside and view.
This is why stakeholders like to be consulted before any big decisions are made. Success is also
another big issue for shareholders. For those such as owners, shareholders, employees, suppliers and
financiers it is incredibly important because if the Offshore Wind Company doesn t succeed, they don
t get paid. The employees would probably loose their jobs, the owners business would fold, along with
the shareholders loosing all their money, the suppliers wouldn t get paid back, and nor would the
financiers. It s a bit different in the case if Local community and pressure groups though, because it
goes a bit both ways.

role of the family. He discussed the equality and privilege differences for male and female. Because of

the methods in which the subordination of women adversely affects the women, but too the men and

women by limiting their field of activities, subsequently, shoving them either into self denial or into

Character Analysis Of Moonlight
Chiron, the main character of Moonlight a 2016 hit movie that follows the journey of Chiron as a
childhood to adult as he faces many challenges. The movie gives insight to how living in the hood and
how that environment has an effect on families, children, and how being different and not following a
particular norm is handled. It is a movie of great depth and brings with it many truths and provides a
visual example of how life can be for those who are not a part of the norm. The movie is in chapter

If I was assigned to a new job in another nation, and that nation does not embrace the Biblical

would have to learn how to keep my faith in the Gospel, without offending the individuals that I work

Milton Friedman, An American Economist
When most of us think of the words opportunity cost, price, production, and service, we think of
something related to obtaining or giving something. According to Merriam Webster, opportunity cost
is defined as, the added cost of using resources (as for production or speculative investment) that is the
difference between the actual value resulting from such use and that of an alternative (as another use
of the same resources or an investment of equal risk but greater return). Price, is defined as the amount
of money that you pay for something or that something costs. Production, is defined as the process of
making or growing something for sale or use, and lastly, service, is defined as, the occupation or
function of serving. Milton Friedman, an American economist, would say, nothing in live is free, that
is, if you want something, you have to give something. These four words can all be tied together and
used to give and receive. We can either use it to our benefit or simply perform it. We could get the
most out of life using these four words, opportunity cost, price, production, and service, by primary
accepting that everything in life is obtained at a cost, acknowledging that they can be used as forward
looking concepts, and agreeing to do everything yourself instead of hiring someone to do it in your
place. Multiple people simply cannot accept the fact that everything obtained in life comes at a cost.

A Brief Note On The City Of London
Exploring an Interdisciplinary Approach to Redeveloping the City of London, England This research
report compiles studies from various disciplines regarding culture, social and economic concerns, the
built environment, and the impact of urbanization in a growing city: London, England. The purpose of
this report is to express the positive outcome that can occur when ethically redeveloping urban
brownfields or derelict real estate by taking public policy, risk assessment, funding, historical
knowledge, and cultural sensitivity into account over the course of the project. With the recent credit
crunch due to loan defaults, the property market has suffered severely in its ability to provide
affordable housing. International investors have invaded the property development scene in London to
take advantage of available land and are causing forceful demographic changes by attracting buyers
with more spending ability than local Londoners. This in turn will cause friction in the relationship
that London s society has with its built environment. Throughout this report, I will explain how
culture is effected when society s relationship with its surrounding environment changes and how
ethical urban regeneration can stay true to the culture, whilst having a beneficial impact on social
welfare. In order to have this effect, project managers must assess finance methods for development,
current demographics, urban heritage, contamination levels, externalities, and cultural ecology

Allusion In The Starry Night
Being inspired by Vincent Van Gogh s illustrious painting Starry Night, Anne Sexton uses imagery,
metaphor, and allusion to write the poem The Starry Night which indicates her not only shares the
mental issue and suicide propensity with Vincent but also the deep desire for religion. Anne Sexton, a
great female poet, is diagnosed with depression and gets hard mental hit due to the death of her aunt;
thus, she attempts to suicide many times. Same as Vincent Van Gogh, Anne also expresses her feeling
toward life and death in scene to release her gloominess. In her poem The Starry Night, she fully
develops her inner thoughts on alienation and loneliness. First of all, Anne uses metaphor to describe
the painting, pointing out her unique reflection to the painting and the mental creativity. Starring at the
dynamic brushstroke of the painting, Anne focuses on the violent style and the color and represents
these in her poem; she compares the swirling and massive clouds to the rushing beast of the night . In

In her poem, Anne mentions a lot of natural objects; the eleven stars is especially important to the
theme of the poetry. The number eleven has a negative meaning in religion: as it recorded in Bible,

and chaos; likewise, her propensity to suicide can be seen as sin. Also, she wants to die no flag/ no

no belly means that she wants to die painlessly, because she gets the postpartum depression she

Weaknesses:
In early development, Under Armour shoes weren t able to hold up after continual wear and tear and
they were ripped apart. Many people lost respect for that area of the company and this has hurt them
as that stigma still sticks with them even after further innovations.
Under Armour has not yet completely extended into the world markets yet, so they will be able to
increase their profits once they become a big force in those markets.
Recently there was a feud between Kevin Plank and other stock holders over a proposed stock split

Like I mentioned in the last section, Under Armour hasn t become a big force in foreign markets yet.

Essay On The Center For Life Science In Boston
The construction of The Center for Life Science in Boston was completed in 2008 and a year later in
April 2009 it was awarded LEED Gold certification as part of the LEED BD+C (Building Design and
Construction) Core and Shell v1.0 pilot scheme (usgbc.org, n.d.). The development was designed by
Tsoi/Kobus Associates, Boston, and developed by Lyme Properties, Hanover, N.H., and BioMed
Realty Trust, San Diego and constructed as a high rise research building with multi tenant lease
agreements (Schneider, 2009). The development scope was a project type that the design team had not
undertaken before, and thus a new collaborative approach was necessary to ensure project success.

The design incorporated 18 floors, outside the traditional building codes that typically limit the use of
high hazard materials above 65 feet (Schneider, 2009), which The Boston Redevelopment Authority
approved despite no similar proposals having been submitted previously. The building of The Center
for Life Science | Boston was not only unique in the fact that concept was far from traditional
construction, but also because no one on the 2001 project team had ever worked on a project looking
to achieve LEED certification in an existing, congested developed area (Schneider, 2009). The project
team was composed of unique positions in order to enhance the likelihood of project success, with the
building s architecture playing a key role in overall LEED concepts and a specific Sustainable Design
Coordinator being employed by Tsoi/Kobus Associates (Schneider, 2009). The project was noted as
being many pieces of a puzzle that the Architect and Developer arranged and rearranged in various
combinations prior to the final layout confirmation (Schneider, 2009), which highlights the agile
approach to the design phase of the project. The integrated, sustainable design approach took a holistic
approach to the building as a whole, not simply independent, individual parts, thus allowing the team
to find resolutions to the many project challenges with specific collaborated and targeted solutions

My Leadership Philosophy Of The United States Air Force
The intention of this paper is to introduce my leadership philosophy. I will start off defining leadership
as well as explaining my leadership philosophy. I will then share a summary of an interview with a
Squadron Commander about a difficult situation that he needed to use his philosophy to work through
and analyze how my philosophy applies to the same situation followed by a brief summary.
There are numerous definitions of the word leadership and it can mean many things to many people.
For the purpose of this assignment I feel the best definition of leadership is ...the art and science of
motivating, influencing, and directing airmen to understand and accomplish the Air Force mission in
joint warfare. 1 When taking over a new command it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe without integrity as the cornerstone in building any relationships, higher levels of
productivity cannot be obtained and ultimately with crumble. It is important for your people to trust
that you have their interests and goals at heart while also laying out clear expectations early on in your
command and trusting, yet verifying all parties are meeting expectations. Throughout my life and
previous experiences I have witnessed firsthand how cohesive units are when these values are
incorporated into leadership philosophies and have also seen how detrimental it is to the unit if they
are not incorporated. An additional layer to integrity is that I would never ask of others what I would
or could not do myself. Nothing will alienate a follower quicker than a leader who is unwilling to
work as hard as or demonstrate that they are willing to get in the trenches with the people they are
leading.
For my interview, I interviewed a peer who is a squadron commander at Grand Forks Air Force Base,
ND4. He stated his most challenging leadership issue came about early on in his command. Within the
first six weeks of his command, seven of his Airmen failed their PT tests. One of these failures was an
Airman facing a medical evaluation board due to several back surgeries. The commander states he was
sympathetic to his situation but he had to remain tough since it was

Analysis of Terrorism Cases
ANALYSIS OF TERRORISM CASES
Introduction
Terrorism manifests itself in many forms. Ideological terrorism, national terrorism and religious
terrorism are some forms of terrorism that became common after the Second World War. Several
theories and hypotheses have been put forward to explain the causes of terrorism. Among these the
negative identity hypothesis explains how frustration with social norms and roles combined with
restricted channels of expression can lead people to group together to engage in terrorist activities to
assert themselves. This essay discusses the Baader Meinhof activities, the LTTE terrorist activities and
the state sponsored terrorist activities of Iran in the light of the negative identity hypothesis.
Identification and Description of Facts
The Baader Meinhof group was a radical German middle class uprising against the establishment of
post World War II Germany. The terrorist activities of this particular group lasted until the mid 1970s
after which the movement morphed into the Red Army Faction that remained active until 1998. The
Baader Meinhof group was formed by Andreas Baader and Gundrun Esslin. Other active members of
the group included Horst Mahler and Ulrike Meinhof who was a well known journalist in Germany.
The group engaged in armed struggle to protest against imperialist and fascists Nazi remnants and
ideologues such as the in the German power structure (Roberts Hogwood 2003, p. 1971). The leader
Baader was jailed in 1969 but

Burnout And Overtraining And Sport Psychology
This week I read the chapter on Burnout and Overtraining and Children and Sport Psychology. I found
this to be an interesting topic that many people do not consider. Due to the competitiveness of sports
or a performance setting, people are encouraged to continue training and to not take time off.
However, excessive training can lead to overtraining and burnout. This can then cause athletes to be
more susceptible to injury, concerns in interpersonal relationships such as not having time to be with
friends or added stress from parents, psychological concerns such as losing enjoyment for the activity,
etc. That is why it is important to take time to prevent burnout from happening. I know for dance, my
teacher always commented on how taking a week off from dance during the holidays can be helpful.
This is because during the school year we were stressed with academics and in November/December
we finished a stressful, busy season with Nutcracker performances. By the time of winter ... Show

Then, when we returned from the break, I found I was more in tuned to my dancing, able to balance

is important to take breaks every now and then. It can be beneficial to advancing forward in technique
and healthy for the mind. People may think taking breaks would be counterintuitive, but short breaks
can be effective for athletes or performers.
In addition, the chapter of Children and Sport Psychology discussed reasons children participate in
sport but also reasons for why they drop out. Again, applying this to dance, it is very interesting to

considered one of much skill and discipline.
The spectators or boxing do not watch the sport to see the boxers brutally hurt each other, they watch

The main danger within boxing is brain damage, but the B.B.B.C have taken a series of steps to

Ÿ Compulsory brain scans for every boxer on a annual basis.
Ÿ Two medical officers at the ring side for every contest.
Ÿ Compulsory health checks after every contest.

The study of Pitts et al. (1994), the books of Parks, et al (1998) and additional studies including Meek

products manufactured and offered to its customers are sport, recreation and fitness related and may be
activities, amenities or people.
Sports we support, follow and play today are part of our day to day lives and we forget that over 250
years ago the sports established today did not yet exist and the few that did would be unappealing and

The Industrial Revolution, beginning in Great Britain, quickly spread throughout the world. This time
period saw the mechanisation of agriculture and textile manufacturing and a revolution in power (i.e.,
steam ships and railroads) and had a massive effect on social, cultural and economic conditions. The
Industrial Revolution had an enormous effect on Sport in Britain. Many changes that may appear far
from linked to sport had a direct effect on how sport was played, when sport was played, and how
much more sport was encompassed into everyday life. The revolution saw mass migration into the
main urban, city areas of an area. In order for workers to travel to work and also for factories and mills
to deliver their goods transport was developed quickly. This development helped towns and cities
grow, and it also helped sport surge in popularity. Teams now had the option, and availability to travel
to different towns and play teams from all over the country. In return supporters were also allowed to
travel and support their local team or factory team. This meant that more people could see sport and
gain interest. This was helpful in encouraging people, which would increase participation levels. The
ability to travel quickly and conveniently between towns and cities improved sporting contacts.
However, the industrial revolution could not have been seen as development. During the revolution a

Edward Taylor God
The depiction of such different Gods between the two Puritan ministers stems from their overall goal
in their writing. Taylor s goal in writing is purely for the glory of God and his own expression of
feelings towards Him. Edward Taylor s works are too bright and cheerful for the Puritan conservatives
at the time and do not serve for moral instruction as most literature should. In his work, Upon
Wedlock, and Death of Children, he describes,
Here Primrose, Cowslips, Roses, Lilies blow
With Violets and Pinkes that voide perfumes.
Whose beauteous leaves ore laid with Hony Dew.

Taylor use the ideal of perfectionism and the denial of sin to exaggerate his view of having a loving
relationship with God in order to reach heaven. Moreover, Edward Taylor uses his abilities to make
conceits to which he constantly refers to in his poems and makes them interesting and mentally
appealing literary works. Nevertheless, Taylor never shared his work with publishers because his main
purpose was to genuinely express his feeling to towards the valuable relationships he procreated.
Equally important, Jonathan Edwards wrote most of his work during the time period of the Great
Awakening. Edward s writing was meant to preach about everlasting life in order to help lost Puritans
establish a loving relationship with God. He did so by often depicting God as a stern, harsh, and
sometimes furious character who wanted to bring them back to his glory but was also not shy from
condemning the Puritans to hell. Edward s audience was broad in spectrum and he had to appeal to a
growing populations of Puritans while still being effective and motivating. Today, the Puritan religion

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This case is about how a company should allocate costs. Mr. Delaney is the owner of an automobile
dealership that is profitable but not profitable in the area of the body shop department.. The
predicament that he faces is that he needs to figure out how to allocate the costs among his different
profit centers. One of the things that Mr. Delaney did in trying to assist himself was to hire a
consultant. The consultant was one that is very competent in analyzing the issues of cost, both fixed,
variable and semivariable. He then tried to relate his knowledge to help Mr. Delaney in his dilemma.

Mr. Delaney would be doing himself a disservice if his prices were not in line with the rest of his
competitors. Unless he could retain a profit margin equal to his competitors with lower prices I think
he should raise them to industry standard.
3.
The action Mr. Delaney should take should be the one that is most in line with his goals, mission and
vision for the company. It seems as if he wants to retain the level of service for the buck he is giving
his customers so I think he feels comfortable doing this and that is what he should do. I also think he
should increase prices slowly if it is warranted by the industry and at the same time try to reduce the
costs associated with the body shop to increase profit margin for that department.
Conclusions/Recommendations
This case brought to light the importance of allocating the costs of a company to the correct
departments and the benefits of doing so in the analysis of each department.
The consultant seemed to make a recommendation based upon inaccurate cost allocations and a lack
of analysis of the prices of competitors.
What Mr. Delaney should do is to get an accurate system in which he could allocate costs accurately
to the proper department. Do the analysis which is needed based on accurate cost allocation and then
make his decision after he gets a report on actual prices in the industry for the

My Visit to the Brooklyn Museum
During my visit to the Brooklyn Museum, I found it both intriguing and informative. The layout of the
exhibition was divided into about three to four sections. Each section of the museum represented a
movement of the 60 s. The themes represented were segregation of blacks and whites, how they tried
to gain equality and the changes they anticipated would happen in the future. The artwork throughout
the exhibit was displayed in a varying gradient of black and white to colors. The type of background
information provided in the exhibit were captions under each artwork specifying the artists name, the
year and time it was created and what message the artwork was trying to portray. I did find the
information that was provided to me helpful because it gave me an insight on to what the specific
artwork was about and the message it was trying to convey to the me, the viewer. One artwork I
observed in this exhibit was David Hammons (American, b. 1943). The Door (Admissions Office),
1969. In this photograph it shows a body pressed against a door trying to gain entry into an admissions
office. The main character is a young African American boy. The role the character plays is a student
trying to get admissions into a White school. During this time the U.S. Federal Government
implemented school desegregation throughout the nation in 1954. White communities did not like the
idea of this and tried blocking black students from attending these white schools. The photo brings out

Perspective Changes with Age
As a person ages, their perspective on life changes. A person eventually develops the ability to
analyze, understand the importance of lack thereof of things, and not take offense at all the little things
in life. Your perspective also changes through the dropping of preconceived ideas and by experiencing
new situations.
As you age, your ability to analyze a particular situation develops drastically. When you are young,
you think that there is one plain cut, simple, black and white answer, but as you get older you realize
there are many sides to almost everything. Eventually, people realize that there can be a yes and a no
answer to questions and that more than one person can be right in an argument.
As you get older, you begin to understand the importance or lack thereof of things. When you are an
adolescent, you blow things way out of proportion. Kids act as though not being invited to the most
recent birthday party is the most important thing. When you are older you realize that it is more
important to be financially secure, have a home and be safe. You also realize that you don t need the
latest model of the iPhone, or other technological device as long as the necessary items you have
work. As you become an adult, you begin to understand that we do not need to take offense at all the
small things in life. A person begins to understand that one person s negative comment towards them
is not all that detrimental to them on a large scale. If someone says that your

moveable grid that can b used on patients that are X Rayed directly.
Application Capabilities
This system may be used for examinations on both children and adults. The table can be used to
acquire images of the patient in a recumbent, sitting or prone position. The wall stand can be used for
patients that are standing or sitting. The digital images displayed on the system thereafter are of
excellent quality due to the proper understanding of the radiographer in terms of how to set exposure
factors needed to attain the level of contrast needed. (Siemens 2010; 39).
The Wall Stand
The wall stand contains the grid and has a holder for the detector. The detector unit can be
manipulated vertically or horizontally. The tube can be centred to the middle of the wall stand and
FFD adjusted to the required position depending on the type of examination being done at the time.
Examinations on the skull, spine, shoulder girdle, pelvis, abdomen, chest, as well as extremities can be

German General Field Marshall, Erwin Rommel, had assumptions of when the war would happen.
Although everyday his thoughts about the war kept getting pushed back due to many different causes.
One of the causes was due to the weather. The weather had been perfect for a while and there was no

anything would happen until June. Rommel led the German side when they knew the battle was going

Abstract
Carl Gustav Jung was bone July 26, 1875 (Feist and Feist, 2002). He was blessed to be surrounded by
an educated family, including clergymen. Carl Jung as a young man was a colleague of Freud. His life
s work was exploring the unconscious. Freud s theory of the unconscious made the unconscious sound
unpleasant. It involved crazy desires, incestuous cravings, and frightening experiences that would

Jung observed psychotic patients as they were confronted with the task of responding to a list of 50
words. He compared their delusional ideas to myths trying to understand them. Shortly after, he left
the hospital position, and broke away from Freud. He began to analyze his own dreams and fantasies
in order to further confirm this hypothetical other layer of the unconscious. He began to focus on
broader collective elements he called archetypes. Jung believed that archetypes had a regulatory
function beyond the sexual drive. His primary treatment for his patients involved treatment of their
unconscious. Jung believed that the archetypal images were the principal structural elements of the
unconscious that was express in myths and other collective narratives. His major therapeutic technique
was drawing parallels between the archetypal images and his patients dreams and fantasies. Delving
into psychology more in depth initiated speculations by Freud and Jung and left the specific synaptic
and neural materialization of unconscious processes to be inferred. In an attempt to avoid the problem
of dualistic thinking and of treating the mind as separate from the body without relying on known
data, Jung s speculation about unconscious archetypes united drives and spirit, matter and psyche,
reached for solutions tying human behavior to genetic predispositions. (Ekstrom, 2004) Jung believed

Corruption Of Somalia After World War II
CORRUPTION IN SOMALIA FINAL GRADUATE PAPER Mohammad mohammad Brief
geography and history In the late 1800 s, European colonialism came to Somalia. Especially in areas
away from the coast, they fought in a fierce way. In the end, most of Somalia came to be under the
control of Britain, France or Italy. World War II brought about further fighting in the region, as
Somalia s ocean access is strategic. After World War II, Italy, Britain and USA remained involved in
governing Somalia. In 1960, the Somali Republic was established with a civilian government. In
1969, Mohamed Barre seized power and became the ruler of Somalia. He ushered in socialist views of
nationalized businesses and cooperative farms. Government positions in his regime went to clans loyal
to him, despite his regime s outwardly anti clan laws. The Cold War further complicated matters in
Somalia. Both the West and the Soviet Union believed the area to be of strategic importance. Hence

Christmas Playlist Suggestions For Holiday Parties Essay
Christmas Playlist Suggestions for Holiday Parties
Another year has quickly passed and it s time again to start preparing for the holiday season. Besides
the torture of finding parking spaces at the mall, scrambling for last minute gifts, and scouring for the
perfect tree, there are many more spirited traditions to look forward to. One of them being your
holiday Christmas party! I think it s one of the most important things we can do with our family and
friends, as it s a time to harness the true spirit behind this highly commercialized holiday. With that
being said, your party cannot be complete without holiday music adding to the ambiance of the
festivities.
Each holiday season, the radio stations play our favorite Christmas tunes around the clock and a blast
of holiday cheer is heard over the loud speakers at department stores. Music is everywhere, and it
plays a major part of the holiday season. I ve prepared one of my own personal Christmas play lists
that was created with tender loving care. Although there are hundreds of versions of our favorites to
choose from, a good play list is eclectic with enough of a mix that will guarantee a special memory for
someone in the crowd. There should be a touch of nostalgia from Christmas past, and more
contemporary choices to keep it fresh and fun.
The following songs, listed in no particular order, are going to be an amazing soundtrack for your
holiday bashes this year.

Hidden Figures Character Analysis
Katherine Johnson, the woman who sent the first American man to outer space was a pioneer for
women, and more importantly women of color. Margot Lee Shetterley s book Hidden Figures writes
about a woman who is calm, passionate, steady, and sure of herself. In Chapter seventeen Outer Space
of Hidden Figures by Shetterly described Katherine as a eager, passionate woman on fire for
knowledge and a love for the science and math. During chapter eighteen With All Deliberate Speed,
she writes of Katherines personal life. She is a nurturing mother to three girls and a strong widow
playing the role of both parents. Katherine remarries, a celebration in her personal life, while she
professionally celebrates a milestone in her career. Finally Shetterly describes Katherine in chapter
twenty one Out Of The Past, The Future, facing the outcomes of her calculations as the landing of the
Friendship 7 Space Capsule plummets towards the United States atmosphere. Throughout it all
Shetterley is exact in Katherine s description and portrays her as a calm, passionate and sure of
herself. While director Theodore Melfi artistically depicted Katherine Johnson in his film Hidden
Figures using actress Taraji P. Henson. Henson provides a real life example of who Katherine Johnson
really was during those critical years. Katherine stood with other women of her time to break the
barriers for generations of women, and women of color that will follow for years to come. In chapter

Animal Rights And The Ethical Treatment Of Animals
From Erasistratus of Alexandria to Galen, who is known as the creator of experimental physiology,
animals have been test subjects in experiments for more than two thousand years (Day 35). Every year
in the world as many as twenty two million animals are used for scientific or medical purposes (Day
10). A variety of animals are experimented on, including rats, mice, rabbits, dogs, cats, and primates
(Day 10). Those against animal research believe the tests are pointless (Day 10). They presume if the
experiments were effective, cancer and other diseases would be cured (Day 11). The ethicality of
testing is also debated. Today, multiple animal rights activist groups exist (Day 11). One of the most
immense groups, People for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Operations performed may include drugging, infecting, addicting, freezing and burning, radiating,
shooting, and surgical mutilation of living, healthy animals (Carryer). From 1985 to 1987, Mary
Phillips, a sociologist, studied twenty seven researchers in twenty three laboratories (Day 31). It was
brought to Phillips attention that the scientists were not administering painkillers to the animals (Day
31). The researchers were describing the tests as painless even though they did not provide anesthesia
(Day 31). The cages in which the animals are kept are occasionally insanitary, small, and crowded
(Crupper). Some test animals do not experience the outdoors (Crupper). Their enclosures may be kept
in rooms with bright lights, inadequate ventilation, and loud noises (Crupper). Every year, anywhere
from 80,000 to 160,000 animals are put down or die from testing ( Transparency Needed 13). A
leading argument for the ban of animal research suggests the use of alternative procedures. In 1959,
William Russell and Rex Burch published The Principles of Humane Experimental Technique (Chang

current tests to reduce pain; and replace animals with other

Social Problems In Prison
Define social problems. A social problem is something that society or certain groups in society see as
threat or disruption to the system.
Prison system: Examine and give three solutions to help fix the prisons. The prison system was
designed to house criminals. I see no true form of rehabilitation or programs in place to help inmates
merge back into society. My first initiative would be for all inmates to get some form of training and
education. Although this already offered, I would ensure that they receive a quality education that they
can actually use in society. My second correction to the prison system would be the mindsets of the
inmates. When you place a lot of prisoners in one confined space, you are ultimately producing
negativity and feeding into the idea of a closed mindset. Placing them behind bars and closed doors
can impose the idea that I am an animal, and I will never have another chance at life. Instead, I would
have intervention programs and real talk counseling to get the inmates to truly question their existence
and how some of their behaviors could be corrected. Lastly, I would separate violent and nonviolent
offenders. Many prisoners are placed together without much examination of their records. This creates
friction, and leads to a hostile environment. I would have the inmates placed according to the
infractions committed, and I am sure that there will be less reports of prison violence.

Abstract
This report aims to analyse and discuss the results of carrying out tensile tests for two materials, in this
case Mild Steel and Nylon. The purpose of this is to use the information generated to calculate Young
s Modulus, Yield Stress, Tensile Strength, and Percentage Elongation. These properties must be
known before designing a product using the materials tested, because the anticipated behaviour of the
material must be suitable for the design specification, with a margin left for safety.
The test followed the standard procedure for tensile testing; force was applied to a specimen of known
dimensions, and the resulting extension was recorded, thus allowing a stress strain graph to be
generated. The bottom of the specimen was secured into the crosshead of a tensile test machine, and
the top secured to the load cell. An extensometer is placed on the specimen to measure extension. The
test is complete when the force applied by raising the load cell at a constant rate causes the specimen
to fail.

  • 2. The Issue Of International Relations The issue of (in)security is increasingly present in academic debates and in national and international political agendas. In the light of this scenario, many different theories in the field of International Relations aim to explain (in)security in the modern world. One of the most influential approaches is the theory of securitization , developed by the Copenhagen School , in which the work of Ole Wæver, Barry Buzan, and others stand out. Moving away from traditionalist views on security, this theory proposes that an issue will be considered an existential threat to be countered not because it possess an objective danger in itself but because it was shaped/constructed, through a process called securitization, to be perceived in that ... Finally, the analysis will focus on the security policies adopted by the government of Rio de Janeiro in relation to the drug issue. Here, it will be given more attention to the phenomenon of the militarization of civil public space, and particularly of security apparatus, as everyday forms of state coercion. In this sense, the model of community policing called UPP (Pacifying Police Units) implemented in slums will be explored, and so the military invasions that preceded the establishment of these units. Like many states in Latin America, Brazil suffers from high rates of urban violence and an ongoing militarized conflict against illegal drug dealing. Influenced by the North American conservative politics in the 70s, the war on drugs has recycled the internal enemy from the image of the subversive that is a result of the cycle of military dictatorships to the drug dealer , and has created conditions for the intensification of a real bellicose security agenda to contain the problem (Batista and Lopes, 2004, p. 8). Regarding the security policies, since 2008, the Security Bureau in Rio de Janeiro initiated the establishment of a Police Pacification Units program (UPP) in the slums. I personally have multiple credit cards and I use only credit cards for all of my daily purchases. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act of 1975, both the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and EFTA (European Free Trade Association) states that if you lose your debit card to theft, you only have a limited amount of time to report the lost before your entire checking account gets drained (Consumer Information, The Federal Trade Commission). • 4. Data Storage And Communication Systems Essay Abstract Encryption is widely used to ensure security in data storage and communication systems. This paper introduces a new concept for image encryption using a new method we named it Meaning Of Location (MOL) . In this method, the private key is an image that converted into RGB numbers and the public key is random integers used to permutate the image. The location of the RGB will be used to encrypt the plaintext. The performance of this algorithm is investigated against many different attacks such as ciphertext attacks, plaintext attacks and brute force attack. The analysis and statistical tests show the strength of this algorithm. The results show that the MOL algorithm is suitable for securing wired and wireless communication systems such as smartcards and cell phone services. According to Merriam Webster, opportunity cost is defined as, the added cost of using resources (as for production or speculative investment) that is the difference between the actual value resulting from such use and that of an alternative (as another use of the same resources or an investment of equal risk but greater return). Price, is defined as the amount of money that you pay for something or that something costs. International investors have invaded the property development scene in London to take advantage of available land and are causing forceful demographic changes by attracting buyers with more spending ability than local Londoners. This in turn will cause friction in the relationship that London s society has with its built environment. Throughout this report, I will explain how culture is effected when society s relationship with its surrounding environment changes and how ethical urban regeneration can stay true to the culture, whilst having a beneficial impact on social welfare. Ideological terrorism, national terrorism and religious terrorism are some forms of terrorism that became common after the Second World War. Several theories and hypotheses have been put forward to explain the causes of terrorism. Among these the negative identity hypothesis explains how frustration with social norms and roles combined with restricted channels of expression can lead people to group together to engage in terrorist activities to assert themselves. This essay discusses the Baader Meinhof activities, the LTTE terrorist activities and the state sponsored terrorist activities of Iran in the light of the negative identity hypothesis. Identification and Description of Facts The Baader Meinhof group was a radical German middle class uprising against the establishment of post World War II Germany. The terrorist activities of this particular group lasted until the mid 1970s after which the movement morphed into the Red Army Faction that remained active until 1998. The Baader Meinhof group was formed by Andreas Baader and Gundrun Esslin. Other active members of the group included Horst Mahler and Ulrike Meinhof who was a well known journalist in Germany. • 27. Burnout And Overtraining And Sport Psychology This week I read the chapter on Burnout and Overtraining and Children and Sport Psychology. I found this to be an interesting topic that many people do not consider. Due to the competitiveness of sports or a performance setting, people are encouraged to continue training and to not take time off. However, excessive training can lead to overtraining and burnout. This can then cause athletes to be more susceptible to injury, concerns in interpersonal relationships such as not having time to be with friends or added stress from parents, psychological concerns such as losing enjoyment for the activity, etc. That is why it is important to take time to prevent burnout from happening. I know for dance, my teacher always commented on how taking a week off from dance during the holidays can be helpful. This is because during the school year we were stressed with academics and in November/December we finished a stressful, busy season with Nutcracker performances. By the time of winter ... People may think taking breaks would be counterintuitive, but short breaks can be effective for athletes or performers. In addition, the chapter of Children and Sport Psychology discussed reasons children participate in sport but also reasons for why they drop out. The Industrial Revolution had an enormous effect on Sport in Britain. Many changes that may appear far from linked to sport had a direct effect on how sport was played, when sport was played, and how much more sport was encompassed into everyday life. The revolution saw mass migration into the main urban, city areas of an area. In order for workers to travel to work and also for factories and mills to deliver their goods transport was developed quickly. This development helped towns and cities grow, and it also helped sport surge in popularity. Teams now had the option, and availability to travel to different towns and play teams from all over the country. In return supporters were also allowed to travel and support their local team or factory team. This meant that more people could see sport and gain interest. Although this already offered, I would ensure that they receive a quality education that they can actually use in society. My second correction to the prison system would be the mindsets of the inmates. When you place a lot of prisoners in one confined space, you are ultimately producing negativity and feeding into the idea of a closed mindset. Placing them behind bars and closed doors can impose the idea that I am an animal, and I will never have another chance at life. Instead, I would have intervention programs and real talk counseling to get the inmates to truly question their existence and how some of their behaviors could be corrected. Lastly, I would separate violent and nonviolent offenders. Many prisoners are placed together without much examination of their records. This creates friction, and leads to a hostile environment.
