My Lifetime Intrigue With Tattoos Essay
Introduction
My lifetime intrigue with tattoos has led me to research the history and culture surrounding tattooing. I
have already collected several pieces, both small and large, on my body and am endlessly curious
about the culture of body modification. The objective of my research is to discover the ancient history
of body art, the social and cultural significances and stigmas of tattoos, as well as to discover the
process of getting a custom tattoo. After defining my objectives and doing preliminary research, I have
chosen to analyze and interpret the existing research about this subject through a conceptual
framework. This framework indicates that tattooing is an ancient art form practiced around the world
for many different reasons and has a diverse cultural and social significance in today s societies. This
framework was chosen as a result of preliminary reading and analyzing existing research about the
history and culture of tattooing. This existing research has shown that the practice of tattooing dates
back to ancient civilizations, as well as the different perceptions of body art in current global societies,
both negative and positive. My research will consist of three topics; ancient tattooing history, the
recent history and the emergence of western practice, and the social and cultural significance and
stigmas in global societies today.

Critical Review Of Tourism Literature Review
Critical Review of manuscript
This article brings to our knowledge and explains about the overall impact of tourism by taking the
four species of macropodids (Onychogalea faenata, Macropus rufogriseus, Wallabia bicolor and
Macropus giganteus) in a sanctuary as their study samples. A few negative impacts were observed on
different methods of approach and study and so it is concluded that, tours in vehicles would be better
to minimize those impacts rather than on foot. The study of this article proves to be worth reporting as
it exposes and creates the awareness in general about the negative impacts on different species due to
increasing human population and their approach towards them.
The title explains the study of this article and its findings but does not seem to be appropriate. The title
would look better if it was made precise and had apt words that best suited the article describing its
result.
The abstract gives an overall idea and the main aim of this article but has no background information
or reasoning. The study sample species names are mentioned but it lacks the methodology of their
study. It expresses a solution for the problem of the study but not a specific clear cut quantitative or
qualitative result. The content is too concise but still it conveys a message.
The introduction had the suitable information to the study and also it did introduce the topic. The aim
was explained in well organized manner but the hypothesis of the article was not clear.

Essay On The Seventh Amendment
The government decided after several years that their comparative weak government under the
Articles of Confederation, and proposed a new constitution on September 17, 1787. Hugh Williamson
proposed a guarantee of trail by jury in the federal civil cases, but the motion to add this was not
supported. The case didn t go away since James Madison wanted to add the Seventh Amendment to
the Bill of Rights. Congress proposed a revised version of the Seventh Amendment to the states on
September 28, 1789, and by December 15, 1791, the necessary three quarters of the states had ratified
it. Also, no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States, than

In response the five states ratification at the conventions recommended guaranteeing the right to jury
trial in civil cases by constitutional amendment. The amendment protected findings of fact in civil
cases exceeding certain dollar value from judicial review. Congress decided to add the proposed Bill
of Rights to end of the constitution later on, directly to Article Three. In suits at common law, where
the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved :
When the Seventh Amendment was written in the 1700s, $20 was considered a lot of money. Today,
any disputes that involve amounts less than $75000 will not be handled in a federal court. The
Supreme Court has held that the Seventh Amendment s guarantee of a jury trial also guarantees a jury
that is of official size, or be able to handle the case. The court decided upon a six member jury, and
believed I would be sufficient to meet the amendment s requirements in the case of Colgrove v. Battin
(1973) and in Ballew v. Georgia (1978) that a five member jury violated the amendment s

Jack Whittaker Winning The Lottery Research Paper
Millions of dollars and Millions of problems A lottery is a gamble in which participants pay an amount
to obtain an opportunity at winning a large prize during a drawing (Lotteries). Lotteries in the United
States can date back to as far as 1612 when it was used to provide funds for a newly created settlement
in the country. A single person or several individuals can win a lottery if they concur with the correct
number or sequence of numbers selected in a drawing. Today, winning the lottery is something most
people desire and wish they had the good fortune for since it would bring in a large sum of money.
The mathematical likelihood of someone winning the lottery on a single ticket is one in 175 million
(Wasserstein). Despite this small possibility of winning the lottery, Jack Whittaker happened to be the
one in 175 million when he won the lottery in 2002, for $315 million. The effects of Whittaker
winning the lottery affected his financial stability, family relationship, and social well being. ... Show

Human Rights In American Prisons Essay
Introduction
Significance of Prisons The significance of human rights in prisons is an important to the criminal
justice system in every country. Prisons are a necessary facility where the inmates are treated
humanely.
Purpose of Investigation Prisoner rights has always been a controversial issue; if prisoners should
have better medical aid, if they should have more space, and if they should be paid more. How are
prisoners treated in prison? I will be investigating by looking through three key concepts which are;
treatment, health, and moral. If prisoners are treated with better then there will be a lower amount of
returning inmates.

American prisons are typically overcrowded and the inmates fight over the resources available. Where
Norway has art and some even have comedy shows and plays to bring up moral. Norway s prisons are
never crowded and there are enough resources for every inmate. Consequently, in the journal the
authors inform Americans about how prison guards moods affect the moral of the prison because the
positive attitude helps everyone. The authors also states prisons zero to fifty have the best quality of
life behind bars. Johnsen, et al elaborate on the relationships in prison, Officers in small prisons also
report more positive relationships with senior management.. . Having these positive relationships
helps out the guards because they will not have to stress over their managers. Having the guards less
stress can help them not lash out on the inmates. If the guards do not lash out then then they will have
a better relationship with the inmates. Finally, American prisons have such high stress levels to a point
where inmates are receiving stress related illnesses. America placed number fifty four in the top
stressed countries in the world. While Norway placed number seventy four in the most stressed
countries.

On February 8, 2018 at approximately 1350 hours I, Officer Nick Buffington, responded to 695
Highway 50 for a report of a De Beque officer making a traffic stop and the driver was possibly under
the influence. This address is located in the City of Delta, County of Delta, State of Colorado.
Upon arrival, I observed a white 1998 Ford F 150 bearing Colorado license plate
QUT 348. I observed Officer Cody Hammon speaking with the driver of the vehicle, later identified as
Michael Johnson (06/19/75).
Officer Hammon was asking Michael what he consumed today? I did hear Michael mention he
smoked Marijuana approximately two (2) hours ago. Michael appeared to be in no condition to be
operating a motor vehicle. I did hear the officer from

Upon searching Michael s backpack, I observed several miscellaneous items. The only item of interest
I located in the backpack was a large glass pipe with an off white residue inside of it. Based on my
training and experience I know this type of pipe to be commonly used to ingest illegal narcotics.
Officer Hammon placed handcuffs on Michael s wrist behind his back and transported him to the
Delta County Memorial Hospital for a medical clearance and then to the Delta County Jail where he
was booked in for being in possession of Methamphetamine.
I took the Red Bull can with the four (4) baggies inside of it, the glass pipe, the two (2) bags of
Marijuana, the three (3) joints and a lighter to the Delta
Police Department as evidence in this case. I used a Narcotics Analysis Reagent
Kit (NARK II) (LOT #N201708001) to test the suspected Methamphetamine. The substance tested
presumptive positive for Methamphetamine. I observed one (1) of the small baggies was double

November 23, 2015
The death penalty is a permitted by law deprivation of life as a criminal punishment. This issue have
been of a great importance throughout centuries parallel to the existence of states. Massive wave of
failures of the death penalty use occurred only in the 90th of the last century. In 1991, from the 180
countries present on the map the death penalty was abolished only in 60. Nevertheless, the official
abolishment of the legislation referring to the execution and the end of its practical use in most
countries differed over time, and in the majority of the most European countries this kind of
punishment has not been carried out more than a century. In Western countries, there is no unanimous
opinion on the appropriateness of the death penalty expense. Government, the legislature of the
European countries took the decision to abolish the death penalty, without relying on public opinion
and on the basis of civilizational and religious principles.
Kvashis (1999) evidences that the world community is moving steadily toward a world without death
penalty (p.78). Now the death penalty is used mostly in Muslim countries, traditions of which, in
addition to what is meant punishment for a range of offenses that are not considered in any country in
the European world, and recommend more highly violent methods of its implementation from
beheading to stoning.

Qualitative And Quantitative Methods Of A Humanitarian...
Qualitative and Quantitative methods Introduction: Qualitative and quantitative methods and its
information are very significant and it tends to develop a shared understanding of people how are they
affected by any emergency problems. It is also helps us to understand the importance and measure of a
humanitarian crisis by giving a numbers of picture of its impact upon the affected communities.
Quantitative addresses the question, like how many, or how much and so forth. In another hand,
qualitative data try to focuses on limitations the nature of the impact of an epidemic upon affected
populations. Qualitative data answers questions of like how and why coping strategies have adapted,
or is it failed to adapt, to bring change in the incident. Collection, collation, analysis, and synthesis of
qualitative and quantitative information, gathered together and analysed using suitable sources, tools,
and methods is the cornerstone of quick needs an identification that allows decision makers to plan a
timely, suitable and organized emergency response. In these methods when obligation a needs

The Enlightment Period in Japan through the Novel Snashiro...
The Enlightenment Period was all about new ways of thinking about life during the 18th century in
Europe. The age of Enlightenment was during a time when society came to a conclusion that life could
be improved through modernization. Some philosophers like Rousseu and Wollstonecraft challenged
society s beliefs. Japan however embraced everything it could from Europe. The novel Sanshiro
guides us to acknowledge how Japan adopted ideas from the European Enlightenment, modernization,
philosophies and freedom. Sanshiro novel is a classic example of how Japan transitioned from old
Japanese tradition values to a more modern life style such as the city of Tokyo. Shanshiro who moved

Sanshiro perceived Tokyo as a place of open communication, thoughts, and motivation and character
Sanshiro was always trying to compare the two distinct places which is the countryside and the city.
Throughout the book one can see the concept of Enlightenment strongly emphasized in the city of
Tokyo. For example one could see this city flourishing with freedom of thought and expression and
people living by their individual thoughts . In the novel Sanshiro the main characters were from
Hongo. Hongo is in the district of Yamanote which is basically the high city of Tokyo. The Yamanote
had a main administration and government. The private homes of the new Japanese lead were the
main start to the modern Japanese state and personified the intellectual and administrative culture of
the time. Their establishments were now new buildings and facilities for the city s educational,
administrative, military, and cultural establishments. Sanshiro learned a lot about the modern world
through the help of his Professor Hirota. Hirota was a Western educated man who taught English at
the First National College (Rubin 2002, 245 6) Hirota throughout the novel became very close to
Sanshiro and ended up to be like a father for him. Sanshiro feels very connected to Hirota because he
is the epitome of the modern Japanese individualist. Tokyo was becoming the center of modern life
and the most modernized place in Japan. Western

Chapter 24 Epilogue pp. 341 348
Many people had imperceptible answers to the questions like, what did it all mean in the end and what
were the accomplishments? Stokely Carmichael wrote a book called Black Power and in it he wrote
about how black people in that time did not accept segregation. Martin Luther King also made
important points in his speeches about segregation and how during this time black people decided to
make a change. The movement in the Alabama Black Belt lasted the longest and many people do not
acknowledge that fact. Even after all the protests started to fade away from the headlines, black people
in Alabama continued to protest for freedom. Many black citizens in Alabama began to realize that
there were other white people in Alabama who also wanted to end segregation. In Lowndes County,
Alabama, there was a rich man who owned thousands of acres of land, named Harrell Hammonds.
Hammonds was a probate judge who raised cattle and grew cotton on his farm. Hammonds was also
an aristocratic politician. Many people noticed Hammonds as being against segregation. Hammonds
argued in a court of law that everyone should be treated equally no matter the color of their skin. Later
in his life, Hammonds also gave his support for black people to be able to get an equal education as
white people.
There was an unhappy ending to Hammonds support to end segregation. Many people threatened his

Ethical Considerations For A Crisis Management Plan
In order for a crisis management plan to be carried out, a crisis management team will be needed to
help the person dealing with a crisis situation. A crisis management team is a team of people that have
the knowledge and skills on how to respond and deal with a crisis situation. The crisis management
team may compromise of individuals such as teachers, social workers, police officers, nurses,
paramedics, psychologists, and school principals. School counselors should also be considered apart
as a member of the crisis management team because they re trained to know how to respond and help
students in crisis situations. In the next heading, the role of the school counselor in crisis management

Also, another ethical consideration for school counselors would be if the student is a danger to
themselves or another student, then it s important to disclose that information along with getting their
parents involved. The legal considerations that must be applied when responding to a student crisis is
that school counselors have a duty to protect students when they re going through a crisis. Going back
to the crisis of a student being a danger to another student, school counselors have the legal duty to
protect that other student as well as reporting to the authorities (Kanel, 2015). It s important that
school counselors know how to collaborate before, during, and after a crisis. Before a crisis, the
school counselor can collaborate with teachers and other school staff members by training them and
coming up with ways on how to help students during a crisis situation. During a crisis, the school
counselor will show other staff members how to comfort students during their time of need in the
crisis situation. After a crisis, the school counselor will help staff members by showing them how to
help students recover from a crisis as well as providing them resources if they need any more
additional help. The way that collaboration assist in a crisis response is that school counselors and
staff members come together to work as a team help students heal through a crisis situation (Kelley,
2015). As for a post crisis response, School counselors and staff members must prepare to come up
with a plan along with intervention strategies and resources in order to help students recover
successfully from a crisis situation. There are many techniques for school counselors to take into
consideration that would be helpful for students who experience a traumatic event such as cognitive
behavioral therapy,

The subtlety of language acquisition has been the most...
The subtlety of language acquisition has been the most fundamental question in the study of
linguistics and human development. From Bow wow Theory to Yo He Ho Theory, the major theories
on language origins and learnability emerged at mid 20th century and has been heavily debated ever
since. Among them, the idea of universal grammar in which is usually credited to linguist Noam
Chomsky, remains the most notable and controversial theory over time. He introduced and developed
the t heory from 1950s to 1970s as he proposed and championed linguistic nativism in language
acquisition. Chomsky supports that language mastery involves knowledge of linguistic rules and
conventions, which he later named that as cognizance . He believes that ... Show more content on

There are totally 5 stages in children language development. Preverbal stage refers to the crying of 0 6
months old infants. This is followed by the one word holophrastic stage in 7 12 months children where
they imitate vowels to communicate, i.e. da da for daddy. By adding gestures (e.g. pointing) and
intonation into their words, they can convey directions, spacious relations of the objects near them,
making it the third stage in language development. After 18 months, children enter the telegraphic
stage where they can use 2 word phrases to indicate their needs, for instance, Papa! Milk! which they
later enter the final stage: the multi word stage. In this stage, they make remarkable breakthrough in
language comprehension and speech. No matter what the first language that children are exposed to,
the majority of them stick to such linguistic developmental mechanism. With the support of other
generative linguists and data of 5000 to 6000 languages all over the world, Chomsky has proved that
despite their very different grammars, all of the languages are rooted with similar syntactic principles
and rules. This shows the universality of language acquisition. It is clear that there is some unique
device in human brains that isolates language learning from cultural and intelligence, make human
innate to language acquisition; the environment only shapes the outline of such neurobiological
system to a specific language.

Example Of Pathological Arbitration
Warren E. Burger , in a 1984 address to the American Bar Association lamented that:
The entire legal profession has become so mesmerized with the stimulation of the courtroom that we
tend to forget that we ought to be healers of conflict. Our system is too costly, too painful,... As healers
of human conflicts, the obligation of the legal profession is to provide mechanisms that can produce
an acceptable result in the shortest possible time, with the shortest possible expense and the minimum
of stress on the participants. This is what justice is all about.
Arbitration is envisioned to assist as an effective means to resolve disputes without involving the
costly and overburdened judicial system. However, even the finest tool is subjected to abuse in the

Creativity In Aldus Huxley s Brave New World
Humans have become more creative as time has gone on. This can be justified through different
movements in history, such as the enlightenment age, or the romanticism era. But the change that
creativity may bring can be looked at as a very dangerous thing, as it can be costly or destructive in
some cases. Except that being original and innovative can help move a species into a more efficient
production lifestyle, as Aldus Huxley Shows in, Brave New World of how such a trait can create a

graduation rates. In many instances, art classes motivate students to stay in school, especially low
achieving students, by fostering closer ties with peers and creating community oriented environments
(Metla). Showing, how schools with art programs can serve as a motivation for a student s need for
success. Not only do programs like art or music motivate, but classes taught at college levels also
show how subjects like, The humanities teach something. Their subject matter is culture, and since
everything human beings do is mediated by culture by language, by representations, by systems of
values and beliefs knowing how to understand other languages, interpret cultural expressions, and
evaluate belief systems is as indispensable to functioning effectively in the professional world as
knowing how to use a computer. This knowledge may or may not make you a better person; it can
certainly make you more productive and successful in the workplace (Menand). To which,
undoubtedly justifies the importance of classes like the humanities, because there is basic knowledge
that can be learned and applied to one s life. Furthermore showing how many Schools across the
country have faced budget shortfalls in recent years, a common cost cutting measure is to slash
funding for arts education, prioritizing what are deemed more essential subjects such as math, reading,
and science (Fang). When schools focus less on classes that enhance a student s creative and
innovative thinking, then there is less of a chance that

Persuasive Essay On Space Mountain
It was our first trip to Disney World, and we were visiting what I thought, was the scariest ride in the
world. I thought that certain ride was scary, because ever since I was five I would always throw up on
the roller coasters, or even car rides. I hated roller coasters ever since I threw up. I thought to myself,
This is Disney World we re talking about, I have to go on this ride, I need this. I promised myself I
would go on every single ride here. I will get over this fear. After that thought I looked at my dad, as
he was already planning on going on this ride. The ride was called Space Mountain, I was told that
people with motion sickness shouldn t go on the ride, but that won t stop me. I ve also been told it is a
pretty cool and fun ride, so that is another reason why I m going on Space Mountain. Daddy, I told
him. I wanna go on Space Mountain. I felt so confident in that one moment of my life. My mom gives
me a look. Peanut, you shouldn t go on that ride, you will get sick and puke. She says. I look back at
my mom then my dad. My dad whispers something into her ear as my mom turns to me and hands me
a doggie bag.
Use this just in case you puke. She says. Have fun sweetie, my mom says softly. My dad takes my
hand and tells me he is proud of me, he leads me to Space Mountain.
As soon as I looked up, I felt sick, the structure and ride was so big. I didn t know that I could do it,
but I had to, I couldn t chicken out in front my Dad. After all I already told him I would go. We
walked into Space Mountain, there were lights everywhere we looked. I started to jump up and down,
I started to get excited for once about a roller coaster, I felt so proud of myself, I would actually get a
chance to ride a roller coaster again! I felt scared, and I also felt so happy and proud of myself at the
same time. My Mom and brother chickened out on going, so I felt so alive, and mature to be riding
such a big ride. I looked at the line, there were no people, we were early! Come on Daddy, there are
more people coming behind us! Behind me and my dad, were a big group of people walking in, we
wanted first in front of the, so I ran and dashed through the aisle, the lights lit up

FRAMEWORK OF ANTI MONEY LAUNDERING AND COMBATING OF FINANCIAL

Oladeji Ifeoluwa Temilolu
1.0 Introduction
Money laundering as a form of cross border crime involves the use of legal tender in a financial
transaction in order to conceal the origin, source or destination of such legal tender derived through
illegal means. The sole aim of every money launderer is to misrepresent to any law enforcement
authority or agency that the source of the funds are clean. As such it would be a difficult task for any
enforcement authority to trace the source of the funds and by so doing the money launderers are able
to escape prosecution or conviction.

2.0 CONCEPTUAL CLASSIFICATION
The porosity of the borders of most ECOWAS countries has led to the mammoth rise in the rate of
cross border crimes, ranging from drug trafficking, human trafficking, tax evasion to money
laundering. This rise has not only expanded, but has multiplied these crimes to a more sophisticated
type with a crippling effect on the local economy and international relations of these countries.
These increase can be linked to the ready ease with which humans and goods could travel between
these ECOWAS countries, whilst the developments in technology has further facilitated the transfer of
the proceeds from such criminal activities in ways hitherto unknown, this led to the swift rate at which
money laundering amongst these countries developed5. Other economic and financial crimes, for
example, drug trafficking and human trafficking also grew in limps and bounds, thus contributing to
the growth in the incidence of money laundering and financial terrorism.
By reason of the fact that the global agenda to curb financial crimes calls for cooperative approach
among countries in addressing these challenges, introducing a number of international legislations on
money laundering and financial terrorism became a necessity. The treaties includes; the United Nation
s Convention against the Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances 1988, the
International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism

include working in retail, fast food and so forth. In this paper, the job I will focus on is working at a
call center. I will discuss the emotional labor that takes place, and my experience performing
emotional labor. I will begin by giving a brief definition of emotional labor through the perspective of
Allie Hoschild. I will then give a general ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because the female workers are expected to sound more cheerful rather than aggressive, customers
feel less hesitant in expressing their frustration. According to Hoschild, because a woman s gender is
accorded lower status, a woman s shield against abuse is weaker (Hoschild, 1983, p. 175). Because of
the lower status shield, female workers have a tendency to be more abused than male workers.
Another aspect of the call center that is gendered is on the emphasis of competition. Pierce mentions
how lawyering can be a game and that male litigators compar[e] the number of wins to the courtoom
and the dollar amount of damages as a way to show off their manliness (Pierce, 2004, p. 78). At the
call center, competition is also a factor. Rewards such as commission is offered once an employee
reaches a target for the amount of sales. This can be seen as a performance contingent reward. Being
able to leave work early but get paid for all hours, having the monthly opus card paid are among some
of the rewards that are offered. The rewards reinforce competition but so does having a quota system.
One observation I made while working at the call center was that male workers tended to brag about
the amount of sales they had made if it passed the quota system or how they were

What Is The Difference Between Medieval Mali Culture And...
Culture The people of medieval Mali had a unique culture. When talking about the culture of the Mali
people, we should definitely address their families, early beliefs, traditions, oral history, and art forms.
As for families, a typical West African family was an extended family consisting of a father, mother,
children, and close relatives. But, in some areas people took part in another type of group called age
sets. People, in both families and age sets, had the duty to help and be loyal to one another. Early West
African beliefs consisted of traditional beliefs that showed the importance of families, and animism
that reflected the people s dependence on the natural world for survival. One example of a traditional
belief is that if

Wilfred Owen Poem Analysis
Kavitha Vudatha
Wilfred Owen Poem Analysis Essay Wilfred Owen is a poet whose journey through life has molded
him into a character of testimony and reality. From the early days of his childhood to his experiences
in war, Owen has evolved into a poet who provides his altruistic view on life. His use of diction that
emphasizes his theme of appearance/and or fate vs reality and the imagery that describes each scene
with clarity and connection of Owen s spirit to his experiences in war, provides not only a peek into
his life but his views on what he saw and what makes him unique. During his time serving in the war,
Wilfred Owen was able to capture many ideas, concepts, and perceptions that cleverly portrayed into
his poems. Even the Sassoon had an impression that Owen, no matter what, had complete dedication
and he passionately wanted to survive the war, so that he might continue to write poetry.. he showed
himself as ...an increasingly self critical one. Owen was quite dedicated to his work and he let nothing
go past him. His sentiment to the war was a recurring speech that echoed his very thoughts. In one of
his poems, the Sentry, Owens uses the words Hammered , choked , murk.. , and whizz bangs to
establish the reality of war and what those soldiers are put through. This is in contrast with the word
coaxing , which shifts the attention away from reality to more of Owen s altruism and appearance that
the man is able to survive. The onomatopoeia used in the second stanza present a sudden push into
reality, such as thud! Flump! Thud! . This sudden jump also supplies information on how difficult it
was to navigate through the war zone. In the third stanza, Owen switches to a form of fate, in which he
relates how this may have been the fate of the man. He forms these thoughts with words phrases such
as wild chattering , crumps , Pummelled , or slogged the air , that imply how the feeling of dread
metaphorically listens for these words before striking . The Sentry is quite different from any of the
other poems that Wilfred Owen has written in that it seems to be centered around internal dialogue
rather than just him laying out details and interpretations of events. The specific dialogue he chose to

Hamlet Movie Vs Play
The play Hamlet by William Shakespeare is about a king that was murdered by his brother and the
main character Hamlet, who is the prince and also the king s son was told by the ghost of his father to
avenge his murder. In the play Hamlet, there are many differences compared to the movie Hamlet
2000 directed by Michael Almereyda. The reason to these differences is to show a modern setting in
the movie Hamlet 2000 , to show the audience a better understanding of the characters, and the
difference in the way the movie ends compared to the original play by Shakespeare.
The first difference is the setting compared to the play and the movie. In the original play the setting
takes place in Elsinore, Denmark in the royal palace in the late Middle Ages around the 14th and 15th
century. The play starts off with the guards in the castle and Horatio who is one of the guards is the
first to see the ghost. But as shown in the movie the setting starts off in New York City in the 2000 s.
The director did this to make it different to the book and to other Hamlet movies. It made it more
modern and interesting the director might have done this to make the audience understand the movie a
little better. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Prejudice In Reginald Rose s Twelve Angry Men
Prejudice is the injury or damage resulting from some judgment or action of another in disregard of
one s rights, according to Merriam Webster. In simpler terms, prejudice is being judged regarding one
s religion, race, personality, physical appearance, etc. Unfortunately, everyone has given or received
some form of prejudice. Prejudice also exists in the government, when cases and trials are solved. This
can be shown through Reginald Rose s novel, Twelve Angry Men. In this novel, twelve jurors are
designated to choose the verdict of a case. A sixteen year old boy is accused of murdering his father. If
the jurors verdict is guilty, then the boy will receive a death sentence. The chosen jurors are locked in
a room to decide the verdict, guilty or innocent. At the beginning, only one juror chose to vote not
guilty, for the sake of reasonable doubt. The juror made thought out points and persuasively changed
all other other jurors minds. By the end, all jurors chose to vote not guilty, except one. This particular
juror voted guilty because he compared the defendant to his own son, whom he had problems with.
This prejudice blocked his mind, making him confuse facts with his own judgment. With this
prejudice, the juror was putting a boy s life at risk. Instead of seeing an innocent boy, he saw his son,
and this was prejudice, blinding him. With no real points to defend why the boy is guilty, the juror was
reminded that the boy on trial was not his son. It s not your

Short Cut Research Paper
If you were in a hurry to get to Richlands, VA from here I doubt that you would drive down Rich

highway 19 is a short cut that gets you there quicker. We take short cuts to arrive at a place earlier;
however, I have taken some short cuts that turned out to not be short cuts. Our Old Testament Reading
envisioned exiles taking a short cut to Jerusalem from Persia in order to hasten their worship of God at
the Temple in Jerusalem. Isaiah envisioned the arrival of the glory of the Lord (Isaiah 40:1 5). The
glory of the Lord appears in Jesus Christ using the same words from Isaiah (Mark 1:1 5). This week s

John Calvin, the great 16th Century Theologian and Reformer, notes the connection of reconciliation
through forgiveness and repentance: Repentance does not persuade God to begin to be gracious to us,
rather we repent so that we may abundantly abound in the reconciliation offered to us (John Calvin).
God s grace precedes our knowledge of reconciliation. Prevenient grace as John Wesley would call it.
If we desire a deeper relationship with God and others, there are no short cuts. Hear this true story of a
man who realized the short cut of divine forgiveness: A Kansas man named Al Johnson came to faith
in Jesus Christ. As a result of his newfound faith in Christ, he confessed to a bank robbery in which he
had participated when he was nineteen years old, and because the statute of limitations had run out, he
could not be prosecuted. Nonetheless, he really believed his relationship with Christ demanded
confession and repentance, so he confessed and voluntarily repaid his share of the stolen money!

The Dangers Of The College Faces Essay
Part 1 As another security examiner at Aim Higher College I was given the undertaking to decide the
main three dangers that the College faces. Consistently innovation is actualized in numerous
associations. This innovation may settle past vulnerabilities or even make new one. Programmers may
misuse this known powerlessness to access basic information or cause hurt in the system. This new
technology may fix previous vulnerabilities or even create new one. Hackers may exploit this known
vulnerability to gain access to critical data or cause harm in the network. The CVE give a rundown of
known vulnerabilities for as often as possible utilized programming. In the rundown, we can see
which new vulnerabilities have been found each year, and they make new dangers for Aim Higher

To begin with, West Africa is known for its interesting land features, landforms, and its gradually

one of Africa s largest freshwater lake, and is know for its shrinking over time in size. Some other

As you can see, this region has a climate that changes gradually depending on the area it is located.
Natural resources contribute a huge part in this region. The two main products in this region include
gold and salt, which were traded across the Sahara for many years. Another major contributor is the
export of diamonds, gold, and magnesium. Although not many countries in this region are as
fortunate, Ghana relies on the export of these products, which resulted in a Per Capita Income of
$1,900. Although this is a very high income for this region, it is still low compared to the
industrialized world. Even though resources play a huge part in this region, culture also contributes to
what the region is like today. For example, The two main types of cultures in West Africa are the
Ashanti and the Benin. The Ashanti resides in Ghana, and is known for their work in colorful
weavings which are known as Kente cloth. The designs on this cloth always provide a specific
meaning. They are also known fro carving wooden stools, which represent unity between ancestral
spirits and members of a family. The country of Benin however, has artists that have made objects out
of metal and Terra Cota. They are also famous for their statues, masks, and jewelry.

The Gettysburg Address
The Impact of the Gettysburg Address on the United States
The speech we now know as the Gettysburg Address was given to consecrate the fallen soldiers in the
bloodiest battle of the Civil War. It is known as one of the most influential speeches ever and has been
recognized in hindsight as pivotal in the outcome of the war. Its brevity and poetry emphasized
America s original dream, the importance of equality, and the opportunity for a new birth of freedom,
a message which continues to be of relevance today.
The Gettysburg Address was powerful because each word was thought out and was meaningful to
Lincoln. It was on November 19, 1863, when Lincoln delivered the speech after the battle of
Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysburg was the most demoralizing battle of the Civil war between the
Union and the Confederacy, with over 50,000 casualties in just three days. Lincoln spoke at the
ceremonies honoring the brave Union soldiers after Edward Everett, a famous orator who spoke for
two hours. In contrast Lincoln captivated his crowd for just over two minutes with a mere 272 words.
He was concise and to the point while also poetic. Everett is known to have sent Lincoln a letter after
the ceremony that said; I should be glad, if I could flatter myself that I came as near to the central idea
of the occasion, in two hours, as you did in two minutes. Lincoln repeated words that he wanted to
emphasize; we, dedicated, and nation. He stressed these words to make his message clearer.

Improvements through Grid and Utility Computing Essay
Improvements through Grid and Utility Computing
Introduction
In the competitive business world of today, companies have to strive to be the best. They have to
develop new ideas and innovations that set them apart. At the same time, these companies need to find
ways to perform more efficiently. If a company is efficient in their capabilities then the typical results
are the business has lower costs and/or they are performing to the best of their abilities. All companies
in today s world strive for all these things because they know if they do not they will fall behind and

This gave birth to today s idea of grid computing.
Grid computing is a large number of servers acting as one computer (oracle.com). This idea works on
the concept of grids. A grid is a combination of severs, networks, storage, and information working
together. These things work together to, create one or more large pools of computing resources
(grid.ziffdavis.com). A grid is unique in that it can be molded and changed to fit the specific needs and
demands of each business. Grid is a type of parallel and distributed system that enable the sharing
selection, and aggregation of geographically distributed autonomous resources dynamically at runtime
depending on their availability, capability, performance, cost, and users quality of service requirements
(gridcomputing.com). It is based on the idea of cooperation and being able to sharing information. It is
different from the idea of the internet because instead of sending the information to others, it is all
stored in one place together which is accessible. The grid allows the organization s users to share their
information and the company s application with one another easily. No matter where the members are
in a company they are able to access and use the information that other employees have on the grid.
Each member of the company is able to access applications and company information. Utility
computing on the other hand is based on an

The Charge Of The Light Brigade Analysis
Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote the The Charge of the Light Brigade on December 2nd, 1854, and it was
then published on December 9th. This poem was written following the disastrous Battle of Balaklava,
between the British Light Brigade forces and the Russian forces (Connors 3). Alfred Lord Tennyson
wrote this poem to commemorate the lives lost, and it seems to be littered with Biblical allusions.
Specifically, this poem has striking diction similarity to Psalm 23 from the King James Version of the
Bible. This discovery spurs the question of whether Alfred Lord Tennyson was directly influenced by
the Psalm, and if so, in what way?
The Charge of the Light Brigade was written when Lord Tennyson learned of the carnage at the
decisive and devastating Battle of Balaklava for the British. The battle was initiated when the overall
commander of British forces, Lord Raglan, ordered the Light Brigade to follow but not to attack the
Russian enemy. Through the chain of command, this message was distorted and then one of the
commanders, Lord Nolan, drove the final nail in the coffin as he ambiguously ordered the troops to
seize the Russian guns as he gestured in the general direction of both the hilltop redoubts and the
adjacent valley (Connors 2). The troops, confused by this order, followed their leader into battle since
they knew it was not their place to argue. The ensuing battle led to the death of half of the Light
Brigade (Connors 2). Due to this tragic event, the British people

  • 2. My Lifetime Intrigue With Tattoos Essay Introduction My lifetime intrigue with tattoos has led me to research the history and culture surrounding tattooing. I have already collected several pieces, both small and large, on my body and am endlessly curious about the culture of body modification. The objective of my research is to discover the ancient history of body art, the social and cultural significances and stigmas of tattoos, as well as to discover the process of getting a custom tattoo. After defining my objectives and doing preliminary research, I have chosen to analyze and interpret the existing research about this subject through a conceptual framework. This framework indicates that tattooing is an ancient art form practiced around the world for many different reasons and has a diverse cultural and social significance in today s societies. This framework was chosen as a result of preliminary reading and analyzing existing research about the history and culture of tattooing. This existing research has shown that the practice of tattooing dates back to ancient civilizations, as well as the different perceptions of body art in current global societies, both negative and positive. My research will consist of three topics; ancient tattooing history, the recent history and the emergence of western practice, and the social and cultural significance and stigmas in global societies today. • 3. Critical Review Of Tourism Literature Review Critical Review of manuscript This article brings to our knowledge and explains about the overall impact of tourism by taking the four species of macropodids (Onychogalea faenata, Macropus rufogriseus, Wallabia bicolor and Macropus giganteus) in a sanctuary as their study samples. A few negative impacts were observed on different methods of approach and study and so it is concluded that, tours in vehicles would be better to minimize those impacts rather than on foot. The study of this article proves to be worth reporting as it exposes and creates the awareness in general about the negative impacts on different species due to increasing human population and their approach towards them. The title explains the study of this article and its findings but does not seem to be appropriate. The title would look better if it was made precise and had apt words that best suited the article describing its result. The abstract gives an overall idea and the main aim of this article but has no background information or reasoning. The study sample species names are mentioned but it lacks the methodology of their study. It expresses a solution for the problem of the study but not a specific clear cut quantitative or qualitative result. The content is too concise but still it conveys a message. The introduction had the suitable information to the study and also it did introduce the topic. The aim was explained in well organized manner but the hypothesis of the article was not clear. ... The amendment protected findings of fact in civil cases exceeding certain dollar value from judicial review. Congress decided to add the proposed Bill of Rights to end of the constitution later on, directly to Article Three. In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved : When the Seventh Amendment was written in the 1700s, $20 was considered a lot of money. Today, any disputes that involve amounts less than $75000 will not be handled in a federal court. The Supreme Court has held that the Seventh Amendment s guarantee of a jury trial also guarantees a jury that is of official size, or be able to handle the case. Biography Of Martin Luther King s Black Power Grace Wolfe, J00548214 Professor Taylor CAS 100 142 4 November 2015 Chapter 24 Epilogue pp. 341 348 Many people had imperceptible answers to the questions like, what did it all mean in the end and what were the accomplishments? Stokely Carmichael wrote a book called Black Power and in it he wrote about how black people in that time did not accept segregation. Martin Luther King also made important points in his speeches about segregation and how during this time black people decided to make a change. The movement in the Alabama Black Belt lasted the longest and many people do not acknowledge that fact. Even after all the protests started to fade away from the headlines, black people in Alabama continued to protest for freedom. Many black citizens in Alabama began to realize that there were other white people in Alabama who also wanted to end segregation. In Lowndes County, Alabama, there was a rich man who owned thousands of acres of land, named Harrell Hammonds. Hammonds was a probate judge who raised cattle and grew cotton on his farm. Hammonds was also an aristocratic politician. Many people noticed Hammonds as being against segregation. Hammonds argued in a court of law that everyone should be treated equally no matter the color of their skin. Later in his life, Hammonds also gave his support for black people to be able to get an equal education as white people. There was an unhappy ending to Hammonds support to end segregation. Also, another ethical consideration for school counselors would be if the student is a danger to themselves or another student, then it s important to disclose that information along with getting their parents involved. The legal considerations that must be applied when responding to a student crisis is that school counselors have a duty to protect students when they re going through a crisis. Going back to the crisis of a student being a danger to another student, school counselors have the legal duty to protect that other student as well as reporting to the authorities (Kanel, 2015). It s important that school counselors know how to collaborate before, during, and after a crisis. Before a crisis, the school counselor can collaborate with teachers and other school staff members by training them and coming up with ways on how to help students during a crisis situation. During a crisis, the school counselor will show other staff members how to comfort students during their time of need in the crisis situation. After a crisis, the school counselor will help staff members by showing them how to help students recover from a crisis as well as providing them resources if they need any more additional help. The way that collaboration assist in a crisis response is that school counselors and staff members come together to work as a team help students heal through a crisis situation (Kelley, 2015). As for a post crisis response, School counselors and staff members must prepare to come up with a plan along with intervention strategies and resources in order to help students recover successfully from a crisis situation. From Bow wow Theory to Yo He Ho Theory, the major theories on language origins and learnability emerged at mid 20th century and has been heavily debated ever since. Among them, the idea of universal grammar in which is usually credited to linguist Noam Chomsky, remains the most notable and controversial theory over time. He introduced and developed the t heory from 1950s to 1970s as he proposed and championed linguistic nativism in language acquisition. There are totally 5 stages in children language development. Preverbal stage refers to the crying of 0 6 months old infants. This is followed by the one word holophrastic stage in 7 12 months children where they imitate vowels to communicate, i.e. da da for daddy. By adding gestures (e.g. pointing) and intonation into their words, they can convey directions, spacious relations of the objects near them, making it the third stage in language development. After 18 months, children enter the telegraphic stage where they can use 2 word phrases to indicate their needs, for instance, Papa! Milk! which they later enter the final stage: the multi word stage. In this stage, they make remarkable breakthrough in language comprehension and speech. No matter what the first language that children are exposed to, the majority of them stick to such linguistic developmental mechanism. With the support of other generative linguists and data of 5000 to 6000 languages all over the world, Chomsky has proved that despite their very different grammars, all of the languages are rooted with similar syntactic principles and rules. This shows the universality of language acquisition. It is clear that there is some unique device in human brains that isolates language learning from cultural and intelligence, make human innate to language acquisition; the environment only shapes the outline of such neurobiological system to a specific language. In many instances, art classes motivate students to stay in school, especially low achieving students, by fostering closer ties with peers and creating community oriented environments (Metla). Showing, how schools with art programs can serve as a motivation for a student s need for success. Not only do programs like art or music motivate, but classes taught at college levels also show how subjects like, The humanities teach something. Their subject matter is culture, and since everything human beings do is mediated by culture by language, by representations, by systems of values and beliefs knowing how to understand other languages, interpret cultural expressions, and evaluate belief systems is as indispensable to functioning effectively in the professional world as knowing how to use a computer. The sole aim of every money launderer is to misrepresent to any law enforcement authority or agency that the source of the funds are clean. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2.0 CONCEPTUAL CLASSIFICATION The porosity of the borders of most ECOWAS countries has led to the mammoth rise in the rate of cross border crimes, ranging from drug trafficking, human trafficking, tax evasion to money laundering. This rise has not only expanded, but has multiplied these crimes to a more sophisticated type with a crippling effect on the local economy and international relations of these countries. These increase can be linked to the ready ease with which humans and goods could travel between these ECOWAS countries, whilst the developments in technology has further facilitated the transfer of the proceeds from such criminal activities in ways hitherto unknown, this led to the swift rate at which money laundering amongst these countries developed5. Other economic and financial crimes, for example, drug trafficking and human trafficking also grew in limps and bounds, thus contributing to the growth in the incidence of money laundering and financial terrorism. Because the female workers are expected to sound more cheerful rather than aggressive, customers feel less hesitant in expressing their frustration. According to Hoschild, because a woman s gender is accorded lower status, a woman s shield against abuse is weaker (Hoschild, 1983, p. 175). Because of the lower status shield, female workers have a tendency to be more abused than male workers. Another aspect of the call center that is gendered is on the emphasis of competition. Pierce mentions how lawyering can be a game and that male litigators compar[e] the number of wins to the courtoom and the dollar amount of damages as a way to show off their manliness (Pierce, 2004, p. 78). At the call center, competition is also a factor. Rewards such as commission is offered once an employee reaches a target for the amount of sales. This can be seen as a performance contingent reward. Being able to leave work early but get paid for all hours, having the monthly opus card paid are among some of the rewards that are offered. The rewards reinforce competition but so does having a quota system. • 23. Wilfred Owen Poem Analysis Kavitha Vudatha Wilfred Owen Poem Analysis Essay Wilfred Owen is a poet whose journey through life has molded him into a character of testimony and reality. From the early days of his childhood to his experiences in war, Owen has evolved into a poet who provides his altruistic view on life. His use of diction that emphasizes his theme of appearance/and or fate vs reality and the imagery that describes each scene with clarity and connection of Owen s spirit to his experiences in war, provides not only a peek into his life but his views on what he saw and what makes him unique. During his time serving in the war, Wilfred Owen was able to capture many ideas, concepts, and perceptions that cleverly portrayed into his poems. Even the Sassoon had an impression that Owen, no matter what, had complete dedication and he passionately wanted to survive the war, so that he might continue to write poetry.. he showed himself as ...an increasingly self critical one. Owen was quite dedicated to his work and he let nothing go past him. His sentiment to the war was a recurring speech that echoed his very thoughts. In one of his poems, the Sentry, Owens uses the words Hammered , choked , murk.. , and whizz bangs to establish the reality of war and what those soldiers are put through. This is in contrast with the word coaxing , which shifts the attention away from reality to more of Owen s altruism and appearance that the man is able to survive. The onomatopoeia used in the second stanza present a sudden push into reality, such as thud! Flump! Thud! . This sudden jump also supplies information on how difficult it was to navigate through the war zone. In the third stanza, Owen switches to a form of fate, in which he relates how this may have been the fate of the man. He forms these thoughts with words phrases such as wild chattering , crumps , Pummelled , or slogged the air , that imply how the feeling of dread metaphorically listens for these words before striking . The Sentry is quite different from any of the other poems that Wilfred Owen has written in that it seems to be centered around internal dialogue rather than just him laying out details and interpretations of events. In simpler terms, prejudice is being judged regarding one s religion, race, personality, physical appearance, etc. Unfortunately, everyone has given or received some form of prejudice. Prejudice also exists in the government, when cases and trials are solved. This can be shown through Reginald Rose s novel, Twelve Angry Men. In this novel, twelve jurors are designated to choose the verdict of a case. A sixteen year old boy is accused of murdering his father. If the jurors verdict is guilty, then the boy will receive a death sentence. The chosen jurors are locked in a room to decide the verdict, guilty or innocent. At the beginning, only one juror chose to vote not guilty, for the sake of reasonable doubt. The juror made thought out points and persuasively changed all other other jurors minds. By the end, all jurors chose to vote not guilty, except one. This particular juror voted guilty because he compared the defendant to his own son, whom he had problems with. This prejudice blocked his mind, making him confuse facts with his own judgment. With this prejudice, the juror was putting a boy s life at risk. Instead of seeing an innocent boy, he saw his son, and this was prejudice, blinding him. The Gettysburg Address The Impact of the Gettysburg Address on the United States The speech we now know as the Gettysburg Address was given to consecrate the fallen soldiers in the bloodiest battle of the Civil War. It is known as one of the most influential speeches ever and has been recognized in hindsight as pivotal in the outcome of the war. Its brevity and poetry emphasized America s original dream, the importance of equality, and the opportunity for a new birth of freedom, a message which continues to be of relevance today. The Gettysburg Address was powerful because each word was thought out and was meaningful to Lincoln. It was on November 19, 1863, when Lincoln delivered the speech after the battle of Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysburg was the most demoralizing battle of the Civil war between the Union and the Confederacy, with over 50,000 casualties in just three days. Lincoln spoke at the ceremonies honoring the brave Union soldiers after Edward Everett, a famous orator who spoke for two hours. In contrast Lincoln captivated his crowd for just over two minutes with a mere 272 words. He was concise and to the point while also poetic. Everett is known to have sent Lincoln a letter after the ceremony that said; I should be glad, if I could flatter myself that I came as near to the central idea of the occasion, in two hours, as you did in two minutes. • 35. The Charge Of The Light Brigade Analysis Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote the The Charge of the Light Brigade on December 2nd, 1854, and it was then published on December 9th. This poem was written following the disastrous Battle of Balaklava, between the British Light Brigade forces and the Russian forces (Connors 3). The Charge of the Light Brigade was written when Lord Tennyson learned of the carnage at the decisive and devastating Battle of Balaklava for the British. The battle was initiated when the overall commander of British forces, Lord Raglan, ordered the Light Brigade to follow but not to attack the Russian enemy. Through the chain of command, this message was distorted and then one of the commanders, Lord Nolan, drove the final nail in the coffin as he ambiguously ordered the troops to seize the Russian guns as he gestured in the general direction of both the hilltop redoubts and the adjacent valley (Connors 2). The troops, confused by this order, followed their leader into battle since they knew it was not their place to argue. The ensuing battle led to the death of half of the Light Brigade (Connors 2). Due to this tragic event, the British people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
