Video Time Is Good Or Bad For Kids
With so much technological activity, some wonder if the screen time is good or bad for kids.
According to Oxford Dictionaries, screen time is the Time spent using a device such as a computer,
television, or games console. Many advocate and promote that if used properly, the prolonged use of
digital media is a means for children to develop and interact more quickly in today s age. However,
some parents have been concerned that too much technology usage may in fact interfere with children
s development. While the two opposing sides have differing opinions on how screen time affects
children, both sides agree on doing whatever is best for the better development of children and
adolescents.
In an era like the twenty first century, it is not unusual for children all over America to be exposed to
technology. The Pew Research Center released the Teens, Social Media, Technology Overview 2015,
which determined that eighty seven percent of adolescents have access to a computer and fifty eight
percent have access to a tablet (Lenhart). In addition, the research center also reported that ninety two
percent of adolescents reported daily internet use. Before, children were playing outside with friends
for fun, and socializing with their friends and family in person. Today, kids play and interact through
laptops, tablets, and other media devices. Technology has become a part of most children and
adolescent s everyday life, through the way they interact with the world.

Analysis Of The Book Horrible Things
The children s book Terrible Things is an allegory of the Holocaust as written by Eve
Bunting. It involves a community of animals who are taken away group by group by the
Terrible Things. The genre of the children s book Terrible Things is fantasy as characterised by the
fictional events and talking animals. The purpose of this story was to entertain young children, but has
a secondary purpose of informing readers of a hidden message pertaining to the events of the
Holocaust which targets small children and adults.
The author uses various elements of literature and language to support her purpose an dto make this
story a portrayal of its genre. Characters that the author uses forest animals such as white rabbits,
birds, frogs, fish, squirrels and porcupines. Having personified animals is a trait of many fantasy
stories. It also has a clear protagonist and antagonist, the protagonist being Little Rabbit and the
antagonist being the Terrible Things. Also, the author s diction and syntax are simple and the names
that she chooses for the characters are very childlike, for example the Terrible Things. She uses
imagery to add dimension to a simple story like when she uses shimmering fish and the cool brown
waters of the forest pond. Little Rabbit. The author uses this to develop the setting and also appeal to
the reader s emotion of happiness and serenity which makes the plot more dramatic. The sentences are
short and without too many details The story is

Use Of Deadly Force Essay
There has been two shooting of deadly force as I know of in our local department. I live in the city of
Humboldt tn.There has been two incident after 2008. A person would not think it would have happen
in such a small town, but it has been (Police officers charged in fatal shootings while on duty, 2016). I
have knew both of the guys that has been shot by deadly force.I went to highschool with one of them.
The people of our city even did a peaceful march for him. The march was lead by his mom, and the
rest of his family (Police officers charged in fatal shootings while on duty, 2016).
They even had a Billboard up for a while saying what happened.

The felony is reckless homicide. I do not know why the officer only served six months for a two year

The U.S. Supreme Court has set forth some important legal guidelines both for the use of deadly force
itself, and for the inquiries which must be conducted before such use results in civil liability in a
federal civil rights claim(AELE Monthly Law Journal, 2007). When constitutional rights and
departmental policy have been violated this can be the cause of civil liability claim (AELE Monthly
Law Journal, 2007).

A Summary OfI Wandered Lonely As A Cloud
Lost. What a standard term. One that is often associated with a child wandering off in a grocery store,
or somebody taking the wrong turn and not arriving at the correct destination. But the trouble is that it
is hardly ever associated with anything deeper, such as the human soul. Yet the reality is, everybody s
soul is indeed a little bit lost. And if not lost, at least diverted to a path of pure monotony that drives
them to forget the importance of the little things in life. An example of this concept is the poem I
Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth. At the beginning of the poem, the speaker is
wandering through life without purpose. He is simply living a life that he no longer feels any form of
connection towards. But then he comes across a field of dancing daffodils and his perspective changes
entirely to one of pure joy and ease with his life. Through his application of simile, symbolism, and
personification, in his work, the speaker makes his poem far more meaningful. The use of these
devices helps to shape the poem s central idea, that is when one stops roaming aimlessly through
everyday life and pays attention, they can discover the true beauties that are present in the world and
learn to appreciate them a little bit more.
One of the main figurative language elements that the speaker uses within his poem is a simile. The
title of the poem itself, as well as the first line are repeating similes. The speaker uses this component
in the lines I wandered

Summary of The Lesson by Toni Cade Bambara Essay examples
The Lesson by Toni Cade Bambara The Lesson, by Toni Cade Bambara, portrays a group of children
living in the slums of New York City around 1972. They seem to be content living in poverty in some
very unsanitary conditions. One character, Miss Moore, the children s self appointed mentor, takes it
upon herself to further their education during the summer months. She feels this is her civic duty
because she is educated. She used F.A.O. Schwarz, a very expensive toystore, to teach them a lesson
and inspire them to strive for success and attempt to better themselves and their situations. At the
beginning of the story, the author gives us the feeling that a child is narrating this story. She also
shows that the child, Sylvia, is at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So this one day Miss Moore rounds us all up at the mailbox and its purdee hot and she s knocking
herself up about arithmetic. And school suppose to let up in summer I heard, but she don t never let
up. (Bambara 470) Miss Moore hailed the group two cabs, and they were off. When they arrive at
their destination, the author gives up another clue toward the extent of the childen s poverty. Then we
check out that we on fifth avenue and everybody dressed up in stockings. One lady in a fur coat hot as
it is. White folks crazy. (Bambara 471) At the store, it is not long before the children begin seeing
things that interest them. The first of these is a microscope that costs $300. Miss Moore comments on
the educational value of microscopes but the children poke fun at the idea. Hey, I m going to buy that
there. That there? You don t even know what it is, stupid. I do so, he say punchin Rosie Giraffe. It s a
microscope. Whatcha gonna do with a microscope, fool? Look at things. (Bambara 471) The next
interesting item that the kids find is a very expensive paperweight. While discussing it, Miss Moore is
sure to convey that while the object is very expensive, it s purpose is very trivial. This here costs $480
dollars, say Rosie Giraffe. So we pile up all over her to see what she pointing out. My eyes tell me it s

Political Analysis Of Lemonade
Since radio friendly, easy listening pop music cropped up in the late 1960s, it has become the epitome
of commercialized music fun, but insincere, ephemeral, and often forgettable. Composed to be as
easily accessible and enjoyable as possible, pop music is rarely associated with authenticity or the
political; instead, pop is often interacted with as music meant to separate the listener from existential
issues they might otherwise face, rather than music meant to confront the listener with these same
issues. However, political pop is in the midst of a renaissance, with some of the most popular
musicians being the most vocal about their political ideologies. Beyonce s critically acclaimed
Lemonade was hailed as one of the most vulnerable and honest albums of the past decade, touching on
topics like the treatment and fetishization of black women in America and police brutality. Most of all,
Lemonade offered a glimpse into the lived oppression of one of the most famous, and most wealthy,
pop stars in the world hardly the first person one might think of when thinking of someone who is
oppressed; but, Beyonce captured the essence of activism in her songs, speaking out from her place of
privilege to make known the urgency of attacking oppressive forces and showing how widespread
they are. This made Lemonade relatable to many listeners own lived experiences, connecting with
them in a way most albums could never dream of coming close. Beyonce s vocal support for activist

What Is A Gap Year Essay
Many students feel a large amount of pressure and stress from school and the workload that comes
with it. The U.S. is strict when it comes to going to college; often you are expected to go right out of
high school, but what if we were not as strict and more lenient. People in England or Australia wait a
whole year after high school to go to college, this is called a gap year. Gap years are very beneficial
and helpful for students, however every great idea has its flaws.
A gap year is, of course, a year, where students after high school in some cases explore some part of
the world or a culture, with most kids exploring their interests or figuring out who they are and what
they want to do in life. Many colleges in the U.K. are far more likely ... Show more content on

Carry A. Nation And The Progressive Era
From the 1890s to the 1920s, many social and economic reform movements were taking place within
American society, and this time period became known as the Progressive Era. People advocated for
women s suffrage, temperance, rights for African Americans, better working conditions in factories,
and much more. One prominent figure from this time period is Carry A. Nation, a temperance activist.
Nation would pray, sing hymns, throw bricks, and attack bars with hatchets. Her action resulted in her
being jailed, written about, and led to her writing her own magazine. Carry A. Nation s tactics of
praying, singing hymns, and violent attacks were effective in the banning of alcohol, with the 18th
Amendment, due to the publicity and fame she received. Carry A. Nation, originally Carrie A. Nation,
did not always have a tendency for violence and a strong aversion from alcohol. However, Nation s
first husband, Charles Gloyd, had a severe drinking problem. Nation became pregnant, and it became
evident to her that Gloyd would not be able to support her and her child. Gloyd soon died because of
his drinking issue. This later led to Nation s strong dislike from alcohol because her husband, whom
she loved, died because of alcohol. Nation remarried David Nation, a preacher and lawyer, and during
this marriage, Nation became very religious. Also, Nation would try to help inmates in prison. This
initially led to her belief that alcohol was bad since Nation believed alcohol caused all the

Newton And Einstein Research Paper
Newton and Einstein have changed science dramatically. They didn t just change the scientific world,
they conveyed many ideas and statements that would modified it for centuries to come. Without
Newton and Einstein s discoveries we wouldn t be where we are in the scientific world today. First of
all Newton developed the theory of gravity, he created the laws of motion, and he created a new and
better version of math called calculus. Newton was an English Physicist and also a Mathematician.
One of his very famous quotes is I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of
people . There was also a scientist named Albert Einstein. Albert was a mathematician and physicist.

making him develop a speech problem, this made him curious about silly ordinary things like time and
space which help him want to become a scientist. His father gave him a compass, which made also
made him want to become a scientist even more. He was homeschooled for one year and then sent to
primary school. After entering school Albert did not like authority and was often rude and cocky to
them, making many teachers not like him. He attended school and tried, but many teachers said he
would never go far in life because of problems he had in school . Einstein was also Jewish, so this
causes many problems for him since he lived in Germany right around the time the Nazi were
invading. But these traits would help make these ordinary men become a face that no one ever forgot.
He conquered the obstacles and started to go to college at Trinity. At college he focused most of his
time in math and physics and graduated in 1900 with a physics degree. He tried his hardest to work as
a professor, but could keep a job , so he put his time into developing his theory and

Health and Social Care Btec
M2: Assess the hazards identified in the health or social care setting. D1: Make recommendations in
relation to identified hazards to minimise the risks to the service user group. A risk assessment is used
to assess the hazards and risks that can cause harm to individuals in an environment. I did my risk
assessment for my placement which is a day nursery setting called Quince Tree. Many parents and
their children visit this health and social care setting daily and a risk assessment was needed to make
sure their safety was to a high standard. There was five hazards at Quince Tree that I had recognised
which could have put the service users and staff at risk, most of these hazards was at a medium risk
and only a small amount were high. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If an individual opens the door without knocking to make the staff in the room aware that someone is
entering they can push the door into the children which can cause them to fall over. This could cause
bruising or cuts to head, legs or arms depending how they fall. Also as the doors are not very heavy
the children are capable of opening them themselves and leaving the room that they are in. If this is
unnoticed by any of the staff the staff it puts the child in great danger if they leave the building or if
they choose to hide in another area. Ways to resolve and minimise the risks of these hazards occurring
again would be to replace the old doors with new fire doors which would be heavy enough so the
children would be unable to open them. The doors would also have a thin strip of glass so the
individuals can see inside before entering although they should knock and wait for response to. A
finally idea to minimise this risk would be to fix finger guards to the hinges of every door so no one s
fingers can be caught in between. Another hazard that could occur is the nappy bin overflowing the
babies this is placed in both the 0 to 1 year old room and always the toilets that used for only the
children. Children of the younger age may try to pull these items from the bin this puts bacteria and
germs onto their hands if this is unnoticed their hands will not be washed and they may touch toys or
put their fingers

Measuring Reaction Rate Using Volume of Gas Produced
Chemistry 12 Formal Report Measuring Reaction Rate using Volume of Gas Produced By John Doe
23th October 2012 Introduction An essential element of chemistry is finding reaction rates. This is
because chemists need to know how long a reaction should take. In addition to needing to know the
rate of a reaction at any point in time to monitor how the reaction is proceeding. Many factors effect
reaction rates, two shown above include temperature and concentration. Concentration affects the rate
of reactions because the more concentrated a solution the more likely collisions between particles will
be. This is simply because there are more particles present to collide with each other. When the
temperature is higher, particles will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In next reaction which took place at a temperature 10˚ higher than that had a rate of 39.5 mL/minute.
Next was the reaction which took place at 10˚ below room temperature which resulted in a rate of 26.8
mL/minute. In the reaction that 20 mL of distilled water was added to the bleach solution and the
temperature was kept constant, the reaction rate dropped to 16.2 mL/minute. Finally the slowest
reaction occurred when 60 mL of distilled water was added to the bleach causing a rate of 10.8
mL/minute. The rate value changes as the temperature is changed. When the temperature increases by
10˚, the rate of the reaction increases by a factor of 0.12 (12%). This is again changed when the
temperature is changed to 10˚ below room temperature. This results in a rate of production of oxygen,
which is decreased by a factor of 0.25 (25%). When the concentrations were changed so did the rate of
reaction. When the concentration was changed to 0.265M the rate of reaction dropped by a factor of
0.5 (50%) below the control value. Furthermore when 60mL of water was added to the bleach
dropping the concentration too 0.132M the rate dropped by a factor of 0.7 (70%). Bleach should never
be mixed with any acid based cleaners because it results in the formation of toxic Cl gas. If bleach is
mixed with an acid based cleaner in a small room it will result in a toxic build up of chlorine gas,
which can be fatal to anyone spending

Unit 304
UNIT 304 PRINCIPLES FOR IMPLEMENTING DUTY OF CARE 1.1 Within my job I have a duty
of care towards all of the children and young people. This is a requirement to exercise reasonable care,
attention and caution to avoid negligence which would lead to the harm of others. I have to make sure
that I keep these children and young people safe at all times giving extra attention towards the younger
more venerable children and ensure they are safe throughout. We protect them not only from physical
harm but also emotional and sexual harm. It is guarding the rights of a child as they have the right to
independence and be treated with respect and dignity. This extends to respecting the rights, cultural
beliefs and values of the parents and family. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another dilemma would be when to break confidentiality and share information. If you have any
concerns about a child or feel they are at risk you need to share them and report it, it is always better
to be safe than sorry. Other dilemmas could be: Staff falling out, Break confidentiality, Swearing and
behaviour, Absent staff members, Lack of team work. 2.2 If individuals insist on doing something that
you disagree with, you can only advise and encourage them. You cannot force them to do anything.
Example of potential conflict or dilemma: A child wants to go outside, but it is raining and cold
outside How to manage the risk I would insist that the child wears a coat and suitable
clothing/footwear, and shorten the length of time they are outside for. Example of potential conflict or
dilemma: A child refuses to eat school food How to manage the risk I would tell the child how
important it is to have a healthy, balanced diet and record all information in their welfare plans then
pass on the information to the relevant people. 2.3 There many different places you can gain support
and advice outside your setting for example health visiting, social service, child protection, police, fire
safety officer, Ofsted, and the internet. Within the setting you can ask for support and advice from the

Arguments Against The Exclusionary Rule
In the United States, there have been rules established to protect its citizens. One such rule, the
exclusionary rule was put in place to do just that. A legal rule, which is derived from constitutional
law, this rule protects citizens by preventing evidence to be presented at trial that was obtained while
violating the defendants Fourth Amendment rights. The Fourth Amendment protects citizens against
illegal search and seizure, therefore any evidence that is collected by law enforcement illegal will not
be admissible in court the court of law. The exclusionary rule is frequently used in the American
courts to suppress evidence collected by law enforcement. One such case in 1913, was Weeks vs The
United States. In this case, law enforcement used a key to enter Weeks home after suspected him using
the postal system to transport lottery tickets. Police collected all the needed documents to have Weeks
indicted and found guilty. Filing an appeal, Weeks argued that all articles collected and used as
evidence against him should have been suppressed, due to the fact it was collected in violation of his
4th amendment. Having reached the Supreme Court, it was ruled unanimously that the evidence had
been collected without ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, those who support the rule, argue that having such rule deters members of law enforcement from
illegal search and seizures of citizens. Police know that if evidence is found to have been collected
illegally, and in violation of the defendants 4th amendment right, that evidence will be admissible in
court. This could possibly result in the defendant walking free. Secondly, another supporting argument
is that the exclusionary rule upholds the Fourth Amendment. This rule protects citizens constitutional
right to be protected from illegal search and seizure, and causes law enforcement to operate within the
boundaries of the law when making an

A Radio Frequency Identification ( Rfid )
As technology advances so does the threat to our privacy as citizens, we enter into this technological
world worried only with what s new and hot and not diving deeper into how these devices are
collecting data on us. One of these new devices is called a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) it s
a wireless system of both what is called tags and readers that pick up radio waves and hold
information. The many uses include Inventory control, Equipment tracking, Out of bed detection and
fall detection (FDA). Companies that employ such things as RFID tags morally should inform those
who would be impacted by their use. On the CPSC website it has the Federal Hazardous Substances
Act or FHSA it states The Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA) requires precautionary labeling
on the immediate container of hazardous household products to help consumers safely store and use
those products and to give them information about immediate first aid steps to take if an accident
happens. (CPSC) It was hard to find a specific need for labeling or informing of such a product as the
RFIDs if they are integrated into regular business practice, such as mentioned grocery usage or
healthcare uses. There has never been a warning label or label of any kind on webcams for their
potential risk which became reality being hacked and streamed by strangers. CBS reported on the
issue in 2014 of Russian hackers tapping into hundreds of thousands of private webcams and

How Did Stephen Hawking Contribute To The World
If you have ever watched an episode of the Big Bang Theory, you know the character Sheldon s
favorite Physicist is Stephen Hawking. Most commonly known today as the computer talking
wheelchair bound scientist, many do not know much more about his contributions to the science
world.
Stephen Hawking was born in Oxford, England on January 8, 1942 to a father who wanted him to
pursue a career in medicine, like himself, a medical researcher. His mother, Isobel Hawking, being one
of the first women to attend Oxford University, understood his love for the sciences and physical
world. This helped to foster and shape his love of the sky, which directly influenced his career as a
scientist. At the age of 11, he started his studies at St. Albans School before moving on to University
College where he majored in Physics. After leaving University College he attended Cambridge, where
he obtained his Ph.D. in Cosmology. At the early age of 21, Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with a
debilitating disease ALS; however, as the disease slowed and stopped the use of his body, it did not

The decision to take down Trujillo was reinforced in the early 1960 when the united states passed to

The Attachment Theory Since The Time Of John Bolwby....
This essay sets out to discuss important developments of the attachment theory since the time of John
Bolwby. Bowlby s evolutionary theory of attachment suggests that children come into the world
biologically pre programmed to form attachments with others, to help them survive. He believed that
attachment behaviors are instinctive and are activated by any conditions that seem to threaten the
achievement of proximity, so separation, insecurity and fear (McLeod, 2007). The first development to
be discussed comes from Mary Ainsworth, a former student of Bolwby s. In the 1970 s Ainsworth
developed a procedure, The Strange Situation, to assess the quality of a child s attachment to their
caregiver. Secondly, The Adult Attachment Interview developed shortly after the strange situation by a
former student of Ainsworth s, Mary Main. This looked at the attachment of the adult and the
correlation between the adult s attachment and their child s. Finally, Edward Tronick s Still Face
Experiment first presented in 1975. This helped look at individual differences in attachment style
through a procedure of a baby interacting with the caregiver and then the baby s reaction to a non
responsive, emotionless caregiver, then most importantly the reaction of the baby when there is
reparation from the mother.
In the 1970 s Mary Ainsworth introduced a new way of studying child/parent attachments. She
initiated a stressful event that activated the child s attachment system whilst providing for the

The archetypal hero journey, Joseph Campbell states, is a typical series of heroic actions. Four stages
form the hero journey: departure, trials, epiphany, and return (the stages do not necessarily occur

finally rebirth form hero journey amp;#8217;s motif. An archetypal hero pattern is the transformation
of the character amp;#8217;s conscience through trials and revelations. Lust, fear, and social duties

and is murdered for his beliefs. Job and Thomas Becket follow the archetypal hero journey; but the
paths the characters follow are not always comparable.
Job amp;#8217;s departure is a lifestyle departure. Living his life splendidly fulfilled, Job
amp;#8217;s life is suddenly a desolate, horrid mortality. First, savage thieves take Job amp;#8217;s
livestock and servants, a fire claims his children, and finally his health deteriorates. amp;#8220;Truly
the thing that I fear comes upon me, and what I dread befalls me. I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I
have no rest; but trouble comes. ; (Job 3:25 26) This dismal new condition leaves Job frustrated and
confused, but he maintains his faith.
Thomas Becket has two departures. The first is a physical departure Becket physically leaves the stage
during a period of deep introspection following the four tempters amp;#8217; propositions. After
physically exiting, Becket actually acquires his second, spiritual departure. The spiritual departure
Becket undergoes is not stated directly, but occurs while Becket is off stage. Becket amp;#8217;s
spiritual departure occurs when he separates material, worldly values from

Analysis Of Shirin Neshat, An Iranian Visual Artist
Shirin Neshat is an Iranian visual artist, who is well known for her works in films as well as
photography. After graduating from school, she moved to New York and married a Korean artist. This
picture is quite evocative and convoluted. It s a representational artwork. Its dimensions are 33 x 22.2
cm. (13 x 8.7 in.). It s interesting to me because the woman in the picture silently expresses a lot. It is
quite comprehensible. The image represents Islamic religion in which a woman stands up to defend
her religion and explain that her religion is transparent and that it is not as deficient as it is deemed by
other people, nonetheless, they are not given equal rights. Rather, their past efforts are overlooked.
In this portrait, the artist has portrayed herself, wearing a black color dress that covers her completely
only leaving her face uncovered. Moreover, a poem in Persian language is stated on her face, and a
rifle is segregating her face into two components. The artist s eyes gaze intensely towards the viewers
from the both sides. She opted to portray herself as a muslim woman to shed light on her religion and
to explain the distinction amongst Islam and western culture. According to Syre, the poem inscribed
upon her face narrates the belief of many Iranian Muslim women in Islam. It is their believe that as
per Islam, all men and women are equal, and the Chador that covers the woman body from head to
feets, leaving her face naked prevents woman from becoming a sexual

door it got caught in that thing and OWWWW!
I looked over at what she was pointing at and saw a mechanism that looked like tree clippers. I couldn

Ok honey let s go to the bathroom. Mom was always great at handling gross stuff like this. I, however,

So, I was glad it was happening when no one could see me. When I was done, I went back, checked

Macbeth Blood Quotes
Is Macbeth really a good person? In Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, the main character Macbeth is
married to his wife Lady Macbeth. Macbeth is first the Thane of Glamis then becomes the Thane of
Cawdor and then becomes the king of Scotland. Macbeth starts off as a nobody and then becomes a
tyrant. The tragic hero evolves throughout the play seen through the blood motif. Macbeth goes from
being brave to guilty to brave because of Lady Macbeth s greed for power.
At first, blood represents Macbeth s bravery because he is willing to do anything to protect his
country. Macbeth shows his bravery by fighting and killing enemies during war: For brave Macbeth
(well he deserves that name),/Disdaining Fortune, with his brandished steel,/Which smoked with
bloody execution (I. ii. 18 20). The use of the blood motif signifies Macbeth s bravery. Macbeth uses
his sword to kill many people who may hurt Scotland. Macbeth is extremely brave in this situation
because he is killing people and fighting in a war which is extremely dangerous and risky to himself.
Blood also signifies Macbeth s bravery because he fights for Scotland. When Macbeth walks into the
room his nobles are asking, What bloody man is that? (I. i. 1). The blood represents Macbeth s bravery
because he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Macbeth kills Duncan which creates his guilt: There s no such thing./It is the bloody business which
informs/Thus to mine eyes (II. i. 59 61). In this case, blood signifies Macbeth s guilt. Macbeth gets
this guilt from planning to kill Duncan, even though Duncan is the king. Blood is also used to
represent Macbeth s guilt from having the murderers kill Banquo. Macbeth believes that he is in blood
(III. iv. 168). The use of blood represents Macbeth s guilt from killing his good friend Banquo.

The History of Bosnia
The history of Bosnia was full of violence, anger and war. Bosnia was once the epicenter of former
Yugoslavia. The state of Bosnia dates back to the Second Century and was quite different from current
Bosnia. Second Century Bosnia consisted of Latin speaking settlers from Roman Empire and they
were also Christians. (History of Bosnia and Herzegovina). The first ruler of Bosnia, in the high
middle ages, was Ban Boric. The second ruler was Ban Kulin and he ruled in the late 1100 s. Ban
Kulin was a well respected leader who ruled for three decades by keeping the peace and stability
within the state. He was able to strengthen the economy by signing treaties with Venice and
Dubrovnik. (History of Bosnia and Herzegovina)
After Kulin s ruling, Bosnia was taken over by Ottoman. Although Ottoman took Bosnia over, they
preserved the Bosnian identity within the culture. Ottoman ruled from 1463 1878. At this time, the
population was deeply affected because of frequent wars with European powers and there were high
rates of migration. Also at this time Islam was the largest ethnic group due to the high rise of
conversions to Islam. Due to the rise of Islam conversion, the population rate of Catholicism went
down. In 1875, the Ottoman Empire fell because of the Herzegovinian Rebellion and the uprising of
peasants. Because of these events and the Treaty of Berlin, the Ottomans were forced to give control
over to Austria Hungary. (History of Bosnia and

True Islam Has Been Hijacked
True Islam has been hijacked. The public image of the Muslim community, not only in America, but
globally, has been tainted by small groups of extremists. The extremists ideas stem from conservative
interpretations of the Quran, and are not as widely followed as most people assume. Some examples
from the Quran that extremists interpret differently than most often have to do with the term
disbelievers; Quran 48:29, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are
severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. The disbelievers in this verse refers to
those who persecuted and attacked Muslims, this is not a verse guiding Muslims to be unpleasant to

After the Golden Age, which is the age of the four rightfully guided caliphs, empires were established.
If Islam is likely to gain ground globally, he states that they must separate faith and state. Mr. Hamid
then goes on to state that this is unlikely to happen, because Sharia (Islam canonical law) is tied so
closely with the religion and state. The solution therefore, is stated that Islam should follow Western
pattern and separate faith and government. A partial reason that we continue to see Islam struggling
with separating their faith and government is, because some see Islam as a political ideology and think
it never was a religion since they never separated from the government. Another is more simply
because many Islamic states have tried numerous political ideologies, such as: communism,
secularism, democracy, tyranny, monarchy, and so on. Keeping Islam s separation issues in mind, the
first event to analyze is the Iranian Revolution, which led to the hostage crisis. The Iranian Revolution
was the result of persecuted Iranians who were tired of the current dynastic governance. The
Revolution was led by the Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and overthrew Mohammad Reza Shah
Pahlavi, who was friendly with the United States. The Revolution began in October, 1977 and lasted
until January, 1979, when Iran became an Islamic Republic. This is an important event in Westerners

Theme Of Morality In Trifles
Ethics and morals are two different things although quite similar. Ethics relate to the essence of right
and wrong according to the law. This is exhibited in the pre meditated murder that we see in the play
Trifles. Morals are related to personal standards. What may be morally right for one person may not be
morally right for another person. Morals are based on a person s upbringing, their religion, and their
personal beliefs. In Trifles, Sweat, and The Storm, Susan Glaspell, Zora Neal Hurston, and Kate
Chopin use symbolism to show, develop, and illustrate the theme of ethics versus morals. Susan
Glaspell uses the bird to justify the murder of Mr. Wright in Trifles. Within the play there is a broken
bird cage. This cage is symbolic of Minnie Wright s marriage. She lives in the middle of nowhere with
John. This isolation breaks Minnie Wright s spirit, just like the cage is broken. In the story it says, She
used to sing real pretty herself (986). Since Minnie is out in the country with no one but John, that bird
is her lifeline to the outside world. She lives through that bird. John s oppression of Minnie, and the
fact that he cold heartedly killed her bird takes away her desire to sing, or dance, or dress pretty.
Arthur Waterman states She was figuratively strangled by John (3). In turn, Minnie literally strangles
John with a rope in his sleep. The women don t always find this action morally or ethically right. Mrs.
Peters, in the beginning, said But, Mrs. Hale, the law is the law (Glaspell 984). After finding out about
the bird, and pondering the situation among themselves, the women all agree with Minnie Wright. It
was justifiable homicide in their eyes, thus making it ethically and morally right in their eyes. Hurston
s Sweat uses the snake as symbolism, and to justify Delia s actions after Sykes is bitten. In the story,
Delia is a faithful Christian woman who is married to a devil like man named Sykes. Hurston
associates the snake to Sykes. The snake symbolizes Sykes representation of the Devil. Sykes knows
that Delia is scared of snakes. Delia tells Sykes, You know how skeered Ah is of snakes. Course Ah
Knowed it (1). Sykes not only torments Delia, he also cheats on her openly. Sykes does

Brutus s Actions In Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar Paper Brutus and his actions are well known across every culture. Brutus, a Roman
Senator, killed his best friend, Julius Caesar, in order to defend the people. These actions were
dramatized by a renowned playwright, William Shakespeare, in his famous play, Julius Caesar. To
craft his play, Shakespeare studied the real life events which occurred, and from them he created a
masterful work of art which is now famous across the globe. Shakespeare took references from
multiple sources, the largest of which was Roman author and philosopher, Plutarch. From Plutarch,
Shakespeare got his influence for the main characters; Julius Caesar, Brutus, Cassius, Antony, and
many of the conspirators. Both in the play and in real life, Brutus kills ... Show more content on

From good character development, to a strong plot, it is a good story from start to finish. What is up
for speculation; however, is whether or not Brutus was acting out of his own free will or if he was
manipulated by Cassius when he killed Caesar. While the majority of people will try and say that it
was in fact manipulation by Cassius, which caused Brutus to choose to murder his best friend, it was
not this way. Brutus was far too intelligent to allow himself to be manipulated. Also, he constantly
clashed with Cassius. Furthermore, Shakespeare s play was based off of real life events and real life
people, Brutus was no exception. In real life, Brutus killed Caesar of his own free will, and
Shakespeare followed suit by having his version of Brutus also kill Caesar of his own free will. There
is no question about it, Brutus chose to kill Caesar of his own accords, not because Cassius

Classical Vs. Keynesian Models Essay
Classical vs Keynesian models
Two economic models of thought are classical and Keynesian models. Each model takes a diverse
approach to the economic education of financial policy, buyer behavior, and government spending.
The classical model, which traces its origins to the 1770s, was the first systematic attempt to explain
the determinants of the price level and the national levels of real GDP, employment, consumption,
savings, and investments. Classical economist Adam Smith and others assumed that all wages and
prices were flexible and that competitive markets existed throughout the economy. Classical economic
theory is fixed in the theory of an (no government) unrestrictive economic market. This model
especially its focus toward macroeconomics relies on four major assumptions: pure competition exists,
wages and prices are flexible, people are motivated by self interest, and people cannot be fooled by
money illusion.
Flexible Prices are the prices of everything; supplies, employment (incomes), property (rent), etc.
must be mutually ascending and descending. However, in truth, it has been perceived that these prices
are not as freely elastic downwards as they are upwards, due to a multiplicity of market limitations,
resembling unions, and laws. Flexible prices confirm that markets regulate to equilibrium and
decrease deficiencies and overages. Say s Law proposes that the aggregate production in an economy
must generate an income enough to purchase all the economy s

The Motives Of Chris Mccandless
Chris McCandless died doing what he loved, but was it worth all of the pain and uncertainty he caused

demise. He cut ties with his family due to personal differences in opinion and travelled all around the

McCandless, but its up to you to decide whether his actions were selfish or purposeful. In this Journal,
I will be questioning the motives of McCandless, connecting with him, as well as evaluating the
author. It has been very perplexing reading this novel and trying to truly understand the motives one
would have to have to make the decisions McCandless made. I am questioning Chris motives for

Because of this, a change is necessary so that the regulation is more suited to new world reality, where

The Brazilian immigration policy presents problems like the exaggerated national security idea, the

I will be giving positives and negative views to come to a reasonable conclusion in which PSB is

Public broadcasting is radio, television and other electronic media outlets, which are all trying to do
the same job, which is entertain the viewers in other words public service. In majority of the world
funding comes from the government through annual fees. Public broadcasting comes in two was

broadcasting of television programs and radio programming by privately owned corporate media, as
opposed to state sponsorship. Commercial broadcasting now exists in most of the countries around the
world, the influence of this means the number of public broadcasting has declined substantially during
the latter part of the 20th century. This means public service broadcasting must do something
significantly if they are to survive in the television industry. All commercial broadcasters are funded

Analysis Of The Article Grim Variations From Fairy Tales
In the article Grim Variations from Fairy Tales to Modern Anti Fairy Tales , the author Wolfgang
Mieder identifies that fairy tales has a quite significant value in people s life. The author argues that
fairy tales are not only just meant for children, but they are also meant for adults, even though fairy
tales may be refer to as children stories, according to scholars these tales are traditional narratives for
adults. Within these tales there are lessons on how people should behave and other aspect of life,
which only adults can understand. The fairy tales contain the hidden frustrations of adults and their
longing for a perfect world. Mieder present the readers with examples of why these tales are also for
adults and the hidden meaning they have within them. Mieder states fairy tales present the world in
black and white, but in the end of this conflict is resolved (Mieder 91) and the belief that there is
always good in humanity and the longing for a utopia plays a significant role for adults. The concept
of hope for fairness and equality allows these tales to last for centuries among children and adults.
Mieder then states many adults today do not accept the value of the benefits that these tales contain,
and are too focus by real life problems. The adults of today s society are realist and do not see the
good meaning behind these tales, deeming them to be far fetched, unlike the adults in the past who
create these stories as a form of escape from the cruel reality.

White Supremacism In African Americans
Introduction
Who has the authority to tell anyone they re lesser than a white man? White supremacy is egregious,
and can hurt a whole race. Today the writer is going to write about white supremacy. It was the worst
thing to happen to America, and has consumed a great deal of our history. From Ancient Egypt to
today, 2016, white supremacists have prowled the earth. The height of popularity for this social
phenomenon was during the European colonial expansion, which was in the eighteen hundreds when
many countries started to adopt the idea. Many countries soon after, dropped the idea of slavery, but
then proceeded with racism in various ways. This paper will include discussion of segregation, slavery
and other things like hate groups.

The KKK (Ku Klux Klan) was a very popular subject in the news in the 1930 s through 1960 s. This
group was the most violent: they did bombings, arson, lynchings, and murders. By the time
segregation started, the KKK had grown bigger, and more violent, so they used that to their advantage.
The KKK had a run for their money when the Civil Rights Movement began. The KKK retaliated by
bombing a church, and murdering a child. Many white supremacists that join groups like these, grew
up in hate driven houses and weren t given direction, guidance, or discipline. Some future white

Analysis Of Teenage Drivers
We has humans are prone to accidents. Because of this, you often see news articles consisting of fatal
and devastating crashes, of which are most oftenly new teen drivers. As such, there is extra
precautions taken by the government or the school you might go to to help prevent these crashes from
happening. In the article Teen Drivers the writer discusses many points on why these bizarre accidents
are in fact worse than they appear to be. As a result of reading the article, my views on teenage driving
have been confirmed.
Following the writer explains how teens driving is prone to accidents while driving with friends. As
Brian O Neill of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety states, Put one teenager in a car, and you
may have a decent driver...Put four teenagers in a car, and you have a prescription for immature,
irresponsible behavior (Holt). This is a fact, have you ever been in a crowded car in which everyone is
talking? Maybe you happened to be the driver you the driver? If not, it is not hard to imagine the
emotions that the driver must be dealing with as they have to focus 360 degrees around them: on the
road, on the lights, the cars around him/her, the marking on the road, pedestrians. Maybe they are also
inclined to state their input on the conversations in the car possibly having to fulfill the demands of

If People Were Good For Homeless People
Many people believe that all human natural reactions were good. Although, the word good has many
definitions. One of the main definitions is, that which is morally right; righteousness (Google 1). This
means that being good is doing the right thing. If being good means to do the right thing then why are
there orphanages, wars, homeless people, and police? If people were good, then they would do the
right thing and adopt children in orphanages. If people were good, then countries would help each
other instead of fighting. If people were good, then there would not be homeless people on the streets
not being helped. If people were good, then there would not be policemen trying to stop murderers or
kidnappers. If people were really good the world would not have these problems. Humans are evil,
and this shown through history and literature. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From 1933 to 1939, hundreds of thousands of Jews who were able to leave Germany did, while those
who remained lived in a constant state of uncertainty and fear ( The Holocaust 1). This explains that
the Jews are being held hostage in an area that is unsafe. If humans were kind to one another, the Jews
would not be in that position. Besides the widespread hunger and poverty, overpopulation lead to
diseases ( The Holocaust 1). This proves that the Germans treated the Jews terribly and they were not
nice enough to let them go. Meanwhile, beginning in the fall of 1939, Nazi officials selected around
70,000 Germans institutionalized for mental illness or disabilities to be gassed to death in the so called
Euthanasia Program ( The Holocaust 1). If Nazi officials were good why would they gas people? As
stated and proven in the paragraph, people are

##hetorical Analysis Of President Barack Obama, And...
With terror, comes peace and harmony, but not all the time, two speeches are evaluated to determine
its effectiveness, [Former] President Obama s statement on the Orlando, Florida shooting , and
President Trump s remarks on the Las Vegas shooting . The link which connects the speeches is the
rhetorical devices, word choice, tone, persuasive appeals including many others, granting the ability of
a stronger claim. The speakers Former President Barack Obama, and President Donald Trump
incorporate similar ideas and how these ideas had been portrayed throughout their speeches. There are
other essential details that fortified their speech, contrariwise there were details that hindered their
speech, displaying weaknesses when discussing certain points. The affinity between the two speeches
is intricately filled with minutiae making them harder to spot in comparison to the distinction amongst
both. Although, Former President Obama s speech had plenty of emotionally inducing words, Trump s
speech was more effectively written with informative statements strengthening his speech.
Furthermore, the speakers benefit from the use of rhetorical devices such as anaphora, parallelism, and
even epistrophe, however, this is where the similarities come to a near end. The format in which these
rhetorical devices were used, or how they were used creates complications when it comes to
determining the correlation or lack of correlation between the speeches. The structure and overall

Management Of Soybean Cyst System
Management of Soybean Cyst Nematode
Soybean cyst management tactics include different methods from place to place, but all have the
common method of using resistant soybean cultivar and crop rotation and these are found to be more
effective than others tactics.(Niblack et al., 2003, Schmitt et al., 2004a, Oyekanmi Fawole, 2010).
Host Resistance
Different resistance genes have been exploited from different soybean germplasm for developing
resistant soybean cultivar against Heterodera glycines (Concibido et al., 2004b). The resistance genes
to Heterodera glycinces were explored first time in soybean germplasm Peking, which conferred three
recessive genes rhg1, rhg2, and rhg3 in 1960(Caldwell et al., 1960) later the fourth new dominant
gene Rhg4 resistant to Heterodera glycinces was also identified in Peking, which was closely linked to
i locus and responsible for distribution of pigmentation of seed coat(Matson Williams, 1965).
Likewise the another dominant resistant gene was discovered in germplasm PI88788 and later named
as Rhg5(Rao Arelli et al., 1992, Rao Arelli, 1994). For developing resistant cultivar against Heterodera
glycines seven differential line PI 548402(Peking), PI 88788, PI 90763, PI 437654, PI 209332, PI
89772, PI 548316 (Cloud) are mostly used out of those seven lines PI 548402(Peking) and PI 88788
constitute more than 90% of the resistant cultivar in the United states (Concibido et al., 2004a,
Shannon et al., 2004, Schmitt et al., 2004b). A novel QTL

Personal Identity
The Development of Strong Mental and Emotional Health One s entire health is codependent upon
various aspects of a stable mental and emotional health; these all rely on who they are, how they think
of themself, and how they express what they feel. Furthermore, the state of one s mental and
emotional health can further impact their physical and social health. Good mental and emotional
health is built upon several prime subcategories of this form of health, these consisting of one s
personal identity, their self esteem, and their understanding and expression of emotions.
Personal identity is who somebody is, and is the foundation of mental and emotional health.
Additionally, it prominently partakes within how and why one emotes certain feelings and within
controlling them. Personal identity is one s background, their race, culture, and gender; even who they
are because of how and where they grew up. It is the conception one creates of themself as they age
and encounter both positive and negative experiences in life. Accordingly, it consists of others
opinions of oneself and one s actions will often reflect the type of opinions. Personal identity can ...

It relies upon one s confidence in who they are, most commonly relating to their self worth and their
physical, mental, and social abilities; most prominently, it relies on their self respect as person. Its a
sense of belonging and the belief of oneself. Self esteem can, simply enough, result from limitations
within life and can only kill oneself if they allow it to control them. Correspondingly, poor mental and
emotional health can be avoided by not giving in to other s negative opinions, recognizing and
accepting compliments, not only ignoring but accepting one s flaws, and, lastly, trying out new things
and attempting to better the flaws that are

Al Qaeda And The Islamic Terrorist Organization
Progress can be seen as moving forward or the onward movement towards a destination or a particular
goal through any means necessary. This has shaped the mindsets of humans, countries, and terrorist
organizations. Whether it is progress that comes from active, exemplary methods and actions or that
from negative, violent, and unclean methods. The terrorist group al Qaeda has one primary goal, to
eliminate all US influence in the world and has pursued that goal through negative, violent means.
However, the efforts of Al Qaeda towards eliminating all U.S. influence around the world have been
unsuccessful because of the obstacles posed by the U.S. military and its counterterrorism efforts. Al

However, it was the U.S. involvement in the Persian Gulf war that drove Osama to use al Qaeda as a
base for eliminating all U.S. influence around the world.
Determined on removing all U.S power through force and violence, Osama and the members of Al
Qaeda issued Fatwahs(a ruling on a point of Islamic law) against America and its citizens. From 1992
to 1993 Osama issued various fatwahs against U.S soldiers stationed in Somalia, Yemen, the Arabian
peninsula, Saudi Arabia that stated that all American troops should be attacked. Proceeding that,
Osama issued new fatwas based upon religion, that it was Islamically proper to kill all nonbelievers,
even if others were killed by such actions and the reward was paradise. Many terrorists claimed to be
fighting in the name of the Quran and justified their killings upon the fact that it is Islamically proper
for a person to kill his enemies and those of God.On the 23rd of August 1996, Osama bin Laden took
a step in making his dream a reality when he issued a Fatwa declaring war against the United States.
After 1996, Fatwas aimed at American civilians were released and stated that Muslims should kill
American civilians anywhere, they are found in the world.Osama expressed his utter hatred for the
United States.

Gender Pay Bias
The Equal Pay Act of 1963 and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlawed gender discrimination
(Macionis, 2012). That is, employers cannot discriminate when setting pay for men and women
(Macionis, 2012). Although these laws exist in the United States, median wages for women amounts
to seventy nine percent of median wages for men (Hirschfeld Davis, 2016). As a result, President
Barack Obama signed an executive law that will close gender pay gap with mandatory reporting and
penalize companies that engage in discriminatory pay practices (Hirschfeld Davis, 2016).
According to Macionis (2012), gender biases affects how women are promoted in the workplace. This
is a form of glass ceiling, which is the subtle discrimination that effectively blocks

  • 2. Video Time Is Good Or Bad For Kids With so much technological activity, some wonder if the screen time is good or bad for kids. According to Oxford Dictionaries, screen time is the Time spent using a device such as a computer, television, or games console. Many advocate and promote that if used properly, the prolonged use of digital media is a means for children to develop and interact more quickly in today s age. However, some parents have been concerned that too much technology usage may in fact interfere with children s development. While the two opposing sides have differing opinions on how screen time affects children, both sides agree on doing whatever is best for the better development of children and adolescents. In an era like the twenty first century, it is not unusual for children all over America to be exposed to technology. The Pew Research Center released the Teens, Social Media, Technology Overview 2015, which determined that eighty seven percent of adolescents have access to a computer and fifty eight percent have access to a tablet (Lenhart). In addition, the research center also reported that ninety two percent of adolescents reported daily internet use. Before, children were playing outside with friends for fun, and socializing with their friends and family in person. Today, kids play and interact through laptops, tablets, and other media devices. Technology has become a part of most children and adolescent s everyday life, through the way they interact with the world. The group of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It involves a community of animals who are taken away group by group by the Terrible Things. The genre of the children s book Terrible Things is fantasy as characterised by the fictional events and talking animals. The purpose of this story was to entertain young children, but has a secondary purpose of informing readers of a hidden message pertaining to the events of the Holocaust which targets small children and adults. The author uses various elements of literature and language to support her purpose an dto make this story a portrayal of its genre. Characters that the author uses forest animals such as white rabbits, birds, frogs, fish, squirrels and porcupines. Having personified animals is a trait of many fantasy stories. It also has a clear protagonist and antagonist, the protagonist being Little Rabbit and the antagonist being the Terrible Things. Also, the author s diction and syntax are simple and the names that she chooses for the characters are very childlike, for example the Terrible Things. She uses imagery to add dimension to a simple story like when she uses shimmering fish and the cool brown waters of the forest pond. Little Rabbit. The author uses this to develop the setting and also appeal to the reader s emotion of happiness and serenity which makes the plot more dramatic. The sentences are short and without too many details The story is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. A Summary OfI Wandered Lonely As A Cloud Lost. What a standard term. One that is often associated with a child wandering off in a grocery store, or somebody taking the wrong turn and not arriving at the correct destination. But the trouble is that it is hardly ever associated with anything deeper, such as the human soul. Yet the reality is, everybody s soul is indeed a little bit lost. And if not lost, at least diverted to a path of pure monotony that drives them to forget the importance of the little things in life. An example of this concept is the poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth. At the beginning of the poem, the speaker is wandering through life without purpose. He is simply living a life that he no longer feels any form of connection towards. But then he comes across a field of dancing daffodils and his perspective changes entirely to one of pure joy and ease with his life. Through his application of simile, symbolism, and personification, in his work, the speaker makes his poem far more meaningful. The use of these devices helps to shape the poem s central idea, that is when one stops roaming aimlessly through everyday life and pays attention, they can discover the true beauties that are present in the world and learn to appreciate them a little bit more. One of the main figurative language elements that the speaker uses within his poem is a simile. The title of the poem itself, as well as the first line are repeating similes. The speaker uses this component in the lines I wandered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Summary of The Lesson by Toni Cade Bambara Essay examples The Lesson by Toni Cade Bambara The Lesson, by Toni Cade Bambara, portrays a group of children living in the slums of New York City around 1972. They seem to be content living in poverty in some very unsanitary conditions. One character, Miss Moore, the children s self appointed mentor, takes it upon herself to further their education during the summer months. She feels this is her civic duty because she is educated. She used F.A.O. Schwarz, a very expensive toystore, to teach them a lesson and inspire them to strive for success and attempt to better themselves and their situations. • 7. Political Analysis Of Lemonade Since radio friendly, easy listening pop music cropped up in the late 1960s, it has become the epitome of commercialized music fun, but insincere, ephemeral, and often forgettable. Composed to be as easily accessible and enjoyable as possible, pop music is rarely associated with authenticity or the political; instead, pop is often interacted with as music meant to separate the listener from existential issues they might otherwise face, rather than music meant to confront the listener with these same issues. However, political pop is in the midst of a renaissance, with some of the most popular musicians being the most vocal about their political ideologies. Beyonce s critically acclaimed Lemonade was hailed as one of the most vulnerable and honest albums of the past decade, touching on topics like the treatment and fetishization of black women in America and police brutality. Most of all, Lemonade offered a glimpse into the lived oppression of one of the most famous, and most wealthy, pop stars in the world hardly the first person one might think of when thinking of someone who is oppressed; but, Beyonce captured the essence of activism in her songs, speaking out from her place of privilege to make known the urgency of attacking oppressive forces and showing how widespread they are. This made Lemonade relatable to many listeners own lived experiences, connecting with them in a way most albums could never dream of coming close. Beyonce s vocal support for activist ... • 9. Carry A. Nation And The Progressive Era From the 1890s to the 1920s, many social and economic reform movements were taking place within American society, and this time period became known as the Progressive Era. People advocated for women s suffrage, temperance, rights for African Americans, better working conditions in factories, and much more. One prominent figure from this time period is Carry A. Nation, a temperance activist. Nation would pray, sing hymns, throw bricks, and attack bars with hatchets. Her action resulted in her being jailed, written about, and led to her writing her own magazine. Carry A. Nation s tactics of praying, singing hymns, and violent attacks were effective in the banning of alcohol, with the 18th Amendment, due to the publicity and fame she received. Carry A. Nation, originally Carrie A. Nation, did not always have a tendency for violence and a strong aversion from alcohol. However, Nation s first husband, Charles Gloyd, had a severe drinking problem. Nation became pregnant, and it became evident to her that Gloyd would not be able to support her and her child. Gloyd soon died because of his drinking issue. This later led to Nation s strong dislike from alcohol because her husband, whom she loved, died because of alcohol. Nation remarried David Nation, a preacher and lawyer, and during this marriage, Nation became very religious. Also, Nation would try to help inmates in prison. This initially led to her belief that alcohol was bad since Nation believed alcohol caused all the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Without Newton and Einstein s discoveries we wouldn t be where we are in the scientific world today. First of all Newton developed the theory of gravity, he created the laws of motion, and he created a new and better version of math called calculus. He was homeschooled for one year and then sent to primary school. After entering school Albert did not like authority and was often rude and cocky to them, making many teachers not like him. He attended school and tried, but many teachers said he would never go far in life because of problems he had in school . Einstein was also Jewish, so this causes many problems for him since he lived in Germany right around the time the Nazi were invading. But these traits would help make these ordinary men become a face that no one ever forgot. He conquered the obstacles and started to go to college at Trinity. D1: Make recommendations in relation to identified hazards to minimise the risks to the service user group. A risk assessment is used to assess the hazards and risks that can cause harm to individuals in an environment. I did my risk assessment for my placement which is a day nursery setting called Quince Tree. Many parents and their children visit this health and social care setting daily and a risk assessment was needed to make sure their safety was to a high standard. There was five hazards at Quince Tree that I had recognised which could have put the service users and staff at risk, most of these hazards was at a medium risk and only a small amount were high. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If an individual opens the door without knocking to make the staff in the room aware that someone is entering they can push the door into the children which can cause them to fall over. This could cause bruising or cuts to head, legs or arms depending how they fall. Also as the doors are not very heavy the children are capable of opening them themselves and leaving the room that they are in. If this is unnoticed by any of the staff the staff it puts the child in great danger if they leave the building or if they choose to hide in another area. Ways to resolve and minimise the risks of these hazards occurring again would be to replace the old doors with new fire doors which would be heavy enough so the children would be unable to open them. The doors would also have a thin strip of glass so the individuals can see inside before entering although they should knock and wait for response to. A finally idea to minimise this risk would be to fix finger guards to the hinges of every door so no one s fingers can be caught in between. Another hazard that could occur is the nappy bin overflowing the babies this is placed in both the 0 to 1 year old room and always the toilets that used for only the children. Children of the younger age may try to pull these items from the bin this puts bacteria and germs onto their hands if this is unnoticed their hands will not be washed and they may touch toys or put their fingers ... • 12. Measuring Reaction Rate Using Volume of Gas Produced Chemistry 12 Formal Report Measuring Reaction Rate using Volume of Gas Produced By John Doe 23th October 2012 Introduction An essential element of chemistry is finding reaction rates. This is because chemists need to know how long a reaction should take. In addition to needing to know the rate of a reaction at any point in time to monitor how the reaction is proceeding. Many factors effect reaction rates, two shown above include temperature and concentration. Concentration affects the rate of reactions because the more concentrated a solution the more likely collisions between particles will be. This is simply because there are more particles present to collide with each other. When the temperature is higher, particles will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In next reaction which took place at a temperature 10˚ higher than that had a rate of 39.5 mL/minute. Next was the reaction which took place at 10˚ below room temperature which resulted in a rate of 26.8 mL/minute. In the reaction that 20 mL of distilled water was added to the bleach solution and the temperature was kept constant, the reaction rate dropped to 16.2 mL/minute. Finally the slowest reaction occurred when 60 mL of distilled water was added to the bleach causing a rate of 10.8 mL/minute. The rate value changes as the temperature is changed. When the temperature increases by 10˚, the rate of the reaction increases by a factor of 0.12 (12%). This is again changed when the temperature is changed to 10˚ below room temperature. This results in a rate of production of oxygen, which is decreased by a factor of 0.25 (25%). When the concentrations were changed so did the rate of reaction. When the concentration was changed to 0.265M the rate of reaction dropped by a factor of 0.5 (50%) below the control value. Furthermore when 60mL of water was added to the bleach dropping the concentration too 0.132M the rate dropped by a factor of 0.7 (70%). Bleach should never be mixed with any acid based cleaners because it results in the formation of toxic Cl gas. If bleach is mixed with an acid based cleaner in a small room it will result in a toxic build up of chlorine gas, which can be fatal to anyone spending ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A legal rule, which is derived from constitutional law, this rule protects citizens by preventing evidence to be presented at trial that was obtained while violating the defendants Fourth Amendment rights. The Fourth Amendment protects citizens against illegal search and seizure, therefore any evidence that is collected by law enforcement illegal will not be admissible in court the court of law. The exclusionary rule is frequently used in the American courts to suppress evidence collected by law enforcement. One such case in 1913, was Weeks vs The United States. In this case, law enforcement used a key to enter Weeks home after suspected him using the postal system to transport lottery tickets. Police collected all the needed documents to have Weeks indicted and found guilty. • 19. The Attachment Theory Since The Time Of John Bolwby.... This essay sets out to discuss important developments of the attachment theory since the time of John Bolwby. Bowlby s evolutionary theory of attachment suggests that children come into the world biologically pre programmed to form attachments with others, to help them survive. He believed that attachment behaviors are instinctive and are activated by any conditions that seem to threaten the achievement of proximity, so separation, insecurity and fear (McLeod, 2007). The first development to be discussed comes from Mary Ainsworth, a former student of Bolwby s. In the 1970 s Ainsworth developed a procedure, The Strange Situation, to assess the quality of a child s attachment to their caregiver. Secondly, The Adult Attachment Interview developed shortly after the strange situation by a former student of Ainsworth s, Mary Main. This looked at the attachment of the adult and the correlation between the adult s attachment and their child s. Finally, Edward Tronick s Still Face Experiment first presented in 1975. This helped look at individual differences in attachment style through a procedure of a baby interacting with the caregiver and then the baby s reaction to a non responsive, emotionless caregiver, then most importantly the reaction of the baby when there is reparation from the mother. In the 1970 s Mary Ainsworth introduced a new way of studying child/parent attachments. She initiated a stressful event that activated the child s attachment system whilst providing for the ... Four stages form the hero journey: departure, trials, epiphany, and return (the stages do not necessarily occur consecutive with the listing). An archetypal hero pattern is the transformation of the character amp;#8217;s conscience through trials and revelations. Lust, fear, and social duties tend to be the main trials heroes face. After graduating from school, she moved to New York and married a Korean artist. This picture is quite evocative and convoluted. It s a representational artwork. Its dimensions are 33 x 22.2 cm. (13 x 8.7 in.). It s interesting to me because the woman in the picture silently expresses a lot. It is quite comprehensible. The image represents Islamic religion in which a woman stands up to defend her religion and explain that her religion is transparent and that it is not as deficient as it is deemed by other people, nonetheless, they are not given equal rights. Rather, their past efforts are overlooked. In this portrait, the artist has portrayed herself, wearing a black color dress that covers her completely only leaving her face uncovered. Moreover, a poem in Persian language is stated on her face, and a rifle is segregating her face into two components. The artist s eyes gaze intensely towards the viewers from the both sides. She opted to portray herself as a muslim woman to shed light on her religion and to explain the distinction amongst Islam and western culture. According to Syre, the poem inscribed upon her face narrates the belief of many Iranian Muslim women in Islam. It is their believe that as per Islam, all men and women are equal, and the Chador that covers the woman body from head to feets, leaving her face naked prevents woman from becoming a sexual ... The tragic hero evolves throughout the play seen through the blood motif. Macbeth goes from being brave to guilty to brave because of Lady Macbeth s greed for power. At first, blood represents Macbeth s bravery because he is willing to do anything to protect his country. The first ruler of Bosnia, in the high middle ages, was Ban Boric. The second ruler was Ban Kulin and he ruled in the late 1100 s. Ban Kulin was a well respected leader who ruled for three decades by keeping the peace and stability within the state. He was able to strengthen the economy by signing treaties with Venice and Dubrovnik. (History of Bosnia and Herzegovina) After Kulin s ruling, Bosnia was taken over by Ottoman. Although Ottoman took Bosnia over, they preserved the Bosnian identity within the culture. Ottoman ruled from 1463 1878. If Islam is likely to gain ground globally, he states that they must separate faith and state. Mr. Hamid then goes on to state that this is unlikely to happen, because Sharia (Islam canonical law) is tied so closely with the religion and state. The solution therefore, is stated that Islam should follow Western pattern and separate faith and government. A partial reason that we continue to see Islam struggling with separating their faith and government is, because some see Islam as a political ideology and think it never was a religion since they never separated from the government. Another is more simply because many Islamic states have tried numerous political ideologies, such as: communism, secularism, democracy, tyranny, monarchy, and so on. Keeping Islam s separation issues in mind, the first event to analyze is the Iranian Revolution, which led to the hostage crisis. • 27. Theme Of Morality In Trifles Ethics and morals are two different things although quite similar. Ethics relate to the essence of right and wrong according to the law. This is exhibited in the pre meditated murder that we see in the play Trifles. Morals are related to personal standards. What may be morally right for one person may not be morally right for another person. Morals are based on a person s upbringing, their religion, and their personal beliefs. In Trifles, Sweat, and The Storm, Susan Glaspell, Zora Neal Hurston, and Kate Chopin use symbolism to show, develop, and illustrate the theme of ethics versus morals. Susan Glaspell uses the bird to justify the murder of Mr. Wright in Trifles. Within the play there is a broken bird cage. This cage is symbolic of Minnie Wright s marriage. She lives in the middle of nowhere with John. This isolation breaks Minnie Wright s spirit, just like the cage is broken. In the story it says, She used to sing real pretty herself (986). Since Minnie is out in the country with no one but John, that bird is her lifeline to the outside world. She lives through that bird. John s oppression of Minnie, and the fact that he cold heartedly killed her bird takes away her desire to sing, or dance, or dress pretty. Arthur Waterman states She was figuratively strangled by John (3). In turn, Minnie literally strangles John with a rope in his sleep. The women don t always find this action morally or ethically right. Mrs. Peters, in the beginning, said But, Mrs. Hale, the law is the law (Glaspell 984). After finding out about the bird, and pondering the situation among themselves, the women all agree with Minnie Wright. It was justifiable homicide in their eyes, thus making it ethically and morally right in their eyes. Hurston s Sweat uses the snake as symbolism, and to justify Delia s actions after Sykes is bitten. In the story, Delia is a faithful Christian woman who is married to a devil like man named Sykes. Hurston associates the snake to Sykes. The snake symbolizes Sykes representation of the Devil. • 30. Classical Vs. Keynesian Models Essay Classical vs Keynesian models Two economic models of thought are classical and Keynesian models. Each model takes a diverse approach to the economic education of financial policy, buyer behavior, and government spending. The classical model, which traces its origins to the 1770s, was the first systematic attempt to explain the determinants of the price level and the national levels of real GDP, employment, consumption, savings, and investments. Classical economist Adam Smith and others assumed that all wages and prices were flexible and that competitive markets existed throughout the economy. Classical economic theory is fixed in the theory of an (no government) unrestrictive economic market. This model especially its focus toward macroeconomics relies on four major assumptions: pure competition exists, wages and prices are flexible, people are motivated by self interest, and people cannot be fooled by money illusion. Flexible Prices are the prices of everything; supplies, employment (incomes), property (rent), etc. must be mutually ascending and descending. However, in truth, it has been perceived that these prices are not as freely elastic downwards as they are upwards, due to a multiplicity of market limitations, resembling unions, and laws. Flexible prices confirm that markets regulate to equilibrium and decrease deficiencies and overages. Analysis Of The Article Grim Variations From Fairy Tales In the article Grim Variations from Fairy Tales to Modern Anti Fairy Tales , the author Wolfgang Mieder identifies that fairy tales has a quite significant value in people s life. The author argues that fairy tales are not only just meant for children, but they are also meant for adults, even though fairy tales may be refer to as children stories, according to scholars these tales are traditional narratives for adults. Within these tales there are lessons on how people should behave and other aspect of life, which only adults can understand. The fairy tales contain the hidden frustrations of adults and their longing for a perfect world. Mieder present the readers with examples of why these tales are also for adults and the hidden meaning they have within them. Mieder states fairy tales present the world in black and white, but in the end of this conflict is resolved (Mieder 91) and the belief that there is always good in humanity and the longing for a utopia plays a significant role for adults. The concept of hope for fairness and equality allows these tales to last for centuries among children and adults. Mieder then states many adults today do not accept the value of the benefits that these tales contain, and are too focus by real life problems. The adults of today s society are realist and do not see the good meaning behind these tales, deeming them to be far fetched, unlike the adults in the past who create these stories as a form of escape from the cruel reality. ... The KKK had a run for their money when the Civil Rights Movement began. The KKK retaliated by bombing a church, and murdering a child. Because of this, you often see news articles consisting of fatal and devastating crashes, of which are most oftenly new teen drivers. As such, there is extra precautions taken by the government or the school you might go to to help prevent these crashes from happening. In the article Teen Drivers the writer discusses many points on why these bizarre accidents are in fact worse than they appear to be. As a result of reading the article, my views on teenage driving have been confirmed. Following the writer explains how teens driving is prone to accidents while driving with friends. As Brian O Neill of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety states, Put one teenager in a car, and you may have a decent driver...Put four teenagers in a car, and you have a prescription for immature, irresponsible behavior (Holt). This is a fact, have you ever been in a crowded car in which everyone is talking? Maybe you happened to be the driver you the driver? If not, it is not hard to imagine the emotions that the driver must be dealing with as they have to focus 360 degrees around them: on the road, on the lights, the cars around him/her, the marking on the road, pedestrians. Maybe they are also inclined to state their input on the conversations in the car possibly having to fulfill the demands of those passengers. Now, imagine that situation with a teenager who just go their license, it is scary, I know; as The odds of having a serious accident ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. If People Were Good For Homeless People Many people believe that all human natural reactions were good. Although, the word good has many definitions. One of the main definitions is, that which is morally right; righteousness (Google 1). This means that being good is doing the right thing. If being good means to do the right thing then why are there orphanages, wars, homeless people, and police? If people were good, then they would do the right thing and adopt children in orphanages. If people were good, then countries would help each other instead of fighting. If people were good, then there would not be homeless people on the streets not being helped. If people were good, then there would not be policemen trying to stop murderers or kidnappers. If people were really good the world would not have these problems. Besides the widespread hunger and poverty, overpopulation lead to diseases ( The Holocaust 1). This proves that the Germans treated the Jews terribly and they were not nice enough to let them go. • 41. ##hetorical Analysis Of President Barack Obama, And... With terror, comes peace and harmony, but not all the time, two speeches are evaluated to determine its effectiveness, [Former] President Obama s statement on the Orlando, Florida shooting , and President Trump s remarks on the Las Vegas shooting . The link which connects the speeches is the rhetorical devices, word choice, tone, persuasive appeals including many others, granting the ability of a stronger claim. The speakers Former President Barack Obama, and President Donald Trump incorporate similar ideas and how these ideas had been portrayed throughout their speeches. There are other essential details that fortified their speech, contrariwise there were details that hindered their speech, displaying weaknesses when discussing certain points. The affinity between the two speeches is intricately filled with minutiae making them harder to spot in comparison to the distinction amongst both. Although, Former President Obama s speech had plenty of emotionally inducing words, Trump s speech was more effectively written with informative statements strengthening his speech. Furthermore, the speakers benefit from the use of rhetorical devices such as anaphora, parallelism, and even epistrophe, however, this is where the similarities come to a near end. The format in which these rhetorical devices were used, or how they were used creates complications when it comes to determining the correlation or lack of correlation between the speeches. • 42. Management Of Soybean Cyst System Management of Soybean Cyst Nematode Soybean cyst management tactics include different methods from place to place, but all have the common method of using resistant soybean cultivar and crop rotation and these are found to be more effective than others tactics.(Niblack et al., 2003, Schmitt et al., 2004a, Oyekanmi Fawole, 2010). Host Resistance Different resistance genes have been exploited from different soybean germplasm for developing resistant soybean cultivar against Heterodera glycines (Concibido et al., 2004b). The resistance genes to Heterodera glycinces were explored first time in soybean germplasm Peking, which conferred three recessive genes rhg1, rhg2, and rhg3 in 1960(Caldwell et al., 1960) later the fourth new dominant gene Rhg4 resistant to Heterodera glycinces was also identified in Peking, which was closely linked to i locus and responsible for distribution of pigmentation of seed coat(Matson Williams, 1965). Likewise the another dominant resistant gene was discovered in germplasm PI88788 and later named as Rhg5(Rao Arelli et al., 1992, Rao Arelli, 1994). For developing resistant cultivar against Heterodera glycines seven differential line PI 548402(Peking), PI 88788, PI 90763, PI 437654, PI 209332, PI 89772, PI 548316 (Cloud) are mostly used out of those seven lines PI 548402(Peking) and PI 88788 constitute more than 90% of the resistant cultivar in the United states (Concibido et al., 2004a, Shannon et al., 2004, Schmitt et al., 2004b). That is, employers cannot discriminate when setting pay for men and women (Macionis, 2012). Although these laws exist in the United States, median wages for women amounts to seventy nine percent of median wages for men (Hirschfeld Davis, 2016). As a result, President Barack Obama signed an executive law that will close gender pay gap with mandatory reporting and penalize companies that engage in discriminatory pay practices (Hirschfeld Davis, 2016).
