Female Athlete Triad Research Paper
The interrelated factors of the female athlete triad are energy availability, menstrual function, and bone
mineral density each of which develops along a continuum. Each factor may progress to a point where
it is a clinical condition such as an eating disorder. The three factors may be present together and have
developed in sequence, low energy availability due to low energy (caloric) intake and high energy
expenditure leads to amenorrhea that leads to osteoporosis, although each of these conditions can
occur independently of the others. Whether alone or in combination with each other, when energy
availability, menstrual function, and bone mineral density are comprimised they represent substantial
health risks for the female athlete. Low

How Does Your Personality Shape Your Workplace Effectiveness
How does your personality shape your workplace effectiveness?
Introduction
Personality is an important trait which has an impact on the surrounding in your workplace. As a
manager, I believe that a workplace has several types of people who come from various religion, race,
country and cultural beliefs. Each individual need to be treated with respect and care, there issues need
to be addressed without neglecting and they should be given room for their own personal growth
within the organization. Personality is related to the culture being practiced in the organization. They
are directly proportional to each other. Culture needs to be initiated by the management and
employees follow it.
Effective management skills require managers to develop policies having the employees in mind,
along with this regular interval for employees and also trips can be organized for team building
purposes. Managers are known to have a good vision, interpersonal skill, technical skill and also
perception. As manager s, they need to understand their strengths and weaknesses by conducting
personality tests and follow certain practices to make their personality better in order to better deal
with employees. It needs a lot of dedication and commitment to be a good manager with pleasant
practices on a day to day basis. We as managers, need to remember that we are role models for the
employees in an organization and they look up to us to be a better person.

The Inseparable Curtis Brothers In The Outsiders
The Inseparable Curtis Brothers
Is life even possible without parents when you are a teenager? Try raising two younger brothers on top
of that. In S.E. Hinton s book, The Outsiders, Darry Curtis took this duty into his own hands and
tackled it as though he was a father. The Outsiders is a book about a rivalry between the two sides of
town that leads to the death of three kids, two greasers and Soc. Does the sun set on both sides of
town? The main characters in the story, Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry Curtis lose their parents in a car
crash and have to adjust to life on their own. The Curtis brothers fear that the state agency will split
them up, but they should not get split because they look out for each other, push each other, and need
each other.
Uniquely, both Darry and Soda focus a lot on Pony s future. In the story, one of the fellow greasers,
Two Bit, says to Ponyboy, You know, the only thing that keeps Darry from bein a Soc is us. (Hinton
126) The boys have to regulate living life on their own which leads to Darry dropping the thought of
college and working instead to help meet his two younger brothers needs. Not to mention that Soda
dropped out of high school to work and help Darry with bills and such. Ponyboy says, Darry was too
smart to be a greaser. (Hinton 126) Darry is not like the other greasers, he was a strong athlete and did
fine in school. Darry would of probably went to college if it was not for the passing of his parents. He
gave up a lot, but he knew he had to watch out for his brothers. Darry became the guardian over the
boys ensuring that the family had reinforcement.
Correspondingly, Darry wants the most suiting life for his brothers even though Ponyboy viewed it as
Darry nagging at him. In the book, Ponyboy says, Darry did care about me, maybe as much as he
cared about Soda, and because he cared he was trying too hard to make something of me. ( Hinton 98)
The Curtis brothers were all together again following Pony and Johnny running away. Soda and Darry
go to the hospital to see Pony and Darry actually cries. Ponyboy realizes that Darry does not hate him.
Darry says, Listen, with your brains and grades you could get a scholarship, and we could put you

The As A Member Of Ancient Roman Society
As a member of Ancient Roman society there are many things I have to look forward to. There s
always music being played, people gallivanting in the street, beautiful things being built, and
wonderful art work popping up all over the place. One other thing I always get to look forward to is
that today someone will die. I know it seems a bit morbid to say that but it s my job. If people didn t
die I wouldn t make money out of it. I m a mourner. I get paid by families of the deceased to make a
scene, so to say, at a funeral. Each and every day when I wake up the first thing I do is go to the crier
to find out if anyone has died. Once I find out the name of the deceased I find their family and discuss
with them if they need my service or not. It s not every single time I have to search for the dead. There
have been multiple occasions where the family knows that I m a mourner and they seek me out while
their loved one is on their death bed and once that person dies they come back to me and tell me it s
time that they need my services. It s very rare that I get turned away. Even the poorest of the poor
families want at least one of us. It is believed that by us causing such a fuss that someone has died that
it will keep the spirit happy and they won t haunt the world of the living. If the family decides to hire
me, and it s very rare that they don t, I get the information I need about when the service will be held
and I return home to get ready. Once home it s the usual

Comparing The Pedestrian And The Flying Machine
The famous science fiction author, Ray Bradbury, wrote two short stories, The Pedestrian and The
Flying Machine, which utilize two different points of view. The Pedestrian is about a man living in a
dystopian, future society. He is arrested for taking a walk at night, which, in this time, is seen as
suspicious and even criminal. The Flying Machine is about an Emperor who executes a man for
inventing a Flying Machine that he views as dangerous and harmful. Narrative Point of View is the
perspective (First Person, Second Person, Third Person, etc) used in a story, or how the narrator tells
it. Third person limited is when the narrator knows the thoughts of just one character. The Pedestrian
is told from a Third Person Limited perspective, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Walking to see. This excerpt is showing how Leonard Mead s perspective is clashing with the cop car
s (society s) perspective. Another conflict is Person vs Person. This type of conflict is basically when a
character has a different opinion than another, causing a problem. The Flying Machine is an example
of this, because the Emperor s point of view is that the man s flying machine could harm, or be
dangerous for China. Call the executioner, said the Emperor. What s this! cried the flier, bewildered.
What have I done? He began to weep [...] Here is the man who has made a certain machine, said the
Emperor, and yet asks us what he has created. He does not know himself. It is only necessary that he
create, without knowing why he has done so, or what this thing will do. This part of the story shows
how the Emperor believes that the machine is harmful, and how the inventor is confused about how it
possibly could be. In conclusion, Point of View is an essential part of every story. It s used, not only to
build character s background and perspectives, and give an idea of the kind of world they re living in,
but to also build up conflict (whether it be between two characters, or a character and their society),
which is also important to all

Reflection Paper In Counselling
Reflection Paper Throughout the 5 days practice of active listening and basic attending skills in daily
conversations, I found it easiest to. On the contrary, the most difficult experience was practicing
empathy which is one of the most essential skills in building rapport and trust with others. Despite
having the ability to show empathic rapport, in which I am able to accurately sense and understand
others feelings by perceiving the situation through their eyes and perspectives, I struggled in the other
component of empathy, which is communicative attunement. I had difficulties verbally responding to
the information about their concerns and feelings. For instance, I had difficulty reflecting their
emotions with appropriate terms. This could be due to my upbringing where my family rarely express
our emotions in conversations; we are more inclined to express it through actions. Hence, I have
difficulties coming up with words to accurately capture the feelings and then verbally expressing it as
a reflection of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Different Types of Thalassemia and How is Diagnosed
Thalassemia is basically a name for similar groups of inherited blood diseases that involve missing or
abnormal genes regarding the protein in hemoglobin which is the red blood cells that carry oxygen
throughout the body. I will discuss the different types of Thalassemia, how Thalassemia is diagnosed,
and the treatments available. I will also discuss the complications and side effects of the treatments,
the disease s causes and effects, and how it is more dominant in some parts of the world than others.
Thalassemia is a blood disorder which means the body makes fewer healthy red blood cells and less
hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is a protein that carries oxygen throughout the body and having less

Abnormalities on one or both of the genes cause the disorder. The strength of the condition is
determined by the damage of the mutation gene in the body and the amount of beta globin genes that
carry a mutation called Thalassemia minor, which is also known by a Thalassemia trait. The
Thalassemia trait is caused by a missing or abnormality on only one beta globin gene. Diseased
individuals generally have no symptoms, though some may develop a mild anemia. However, they can
pass the abnormal gene to their children. Thalassemia Intermediate is when both beta globin genes
become mutated. These gene abnormalities are less dangerous than Thalassemia major gene
abnormalities mostly. These individuals usually have mild to moderate anemia and they develop some
of the complications seen in Thalassemia major, such as bone abnormalities or an enlarged spleen.
Many affected people require more frequent blood transfusions in order to reduce the risk of
complications. Thalassemia major is arguably the most severe form and is the product of damaging
mutations on both beta globin protein genes. It also is commonly known by Cooley s anemia, named
after the doctor who first identified it in 1925. Most affected individuals appear healthy at birth.
However, during the first year or two of life, they become have a poor appetite and become pale. They

Funeral Planning
Funeral Planning
Introduction
Mankind s history of burial practices and funeral customs are as old as civilization itself. There is no
specific way to planning a funeral. Every civilization and culture has provided for their dead in
different ways. Religion and personal beliefs play an important role in the burial practices and funeral
customs of a given culture or civilization. Furthermore, each civilization and cultured ever studied
have three things in common: some type of funeral rites, rituals, and ceremonies; A sacred place for
the dead; and memorialization of the dead. As far back as the time of Christ, burials have been noted

The Greeks often buried dead people, and marked graves with carved gravestones. Large pots were
also used to mark graves. The deceased were usually buried in graveyards outside the city walls.
When the procession reached the burial place, the body could be buried, or it could be burnt, and the
ashes were buried. The dead person was often buried with some of their belongings.
Patterns of Death
Today it is probable that you will die in a hospital, hospice care facility, or nursing home, aside from
death on impact, such as in accidents. In the past, confronting death was common. As societies
advanced and learned more about health and medicine, death became less of an everyday experience.
In Modern day America death has become somewhat unnatural. Removal of everyday experience has
separated our society from death. In Pastoral/Horticultural societies the elderly where considered the
most respected, wise, and usually attain much of the wealth. In post industrial societies, like the U.S.
for instance, dying is not a part of everyday life. Thought people die everyday, today it is most likely
that many individuals haven t experienced someone dying. When the ill or accident victims die,
hospital house the deceased s bodies away from sight, in the basement to of a hospital, usually referred
to as the morgue.

Deaf Immigrant Process
The immigration process is a tedious path to United States citizenship. Foreign citizens who want to
live permanently in the United States require a visa and multiple forms. United States law limits the
number of visas available each year, with certain limits by country. The entire immigration process is
very opaque. Now add the intricate layer of being deaf. Deaf immigrants face many problems when
immigrating to the U.S., along with adjusting to life in the U.S. In the 1880s the Federal Government
began to regulate who could enter the United States. The primary aim of Congress was to exclude
what they considered defectives or undesirables (Douglas 394). The Immigration Act of 1907 denied

Feminism In Don Quixote
A novel is long narrative written by a novelist that describes fictional characters and events, usually in

Case Studies in IMF s Investment on the African Continent
Case Studies in IMF Investment on the African Continent Section I. Theoretical Background to Apply
to Case Studies During the height of World War II, leaders from 45 nations met in Bretton Woods,
New Hampshire, U.S. to promote international monetary cooperation through a permanent institution
which provides the machinery for consultation and collaboration on international monetary problems,

Further mandates included orderly and stable exchange, avoiding currency depreciation wars and to

complexities of currency exchange between nations. This would help recovery for European nations

when countries want to import goods, they either have to directly barter those for their own exports, or
first buy currency from the exporting country with which to purchase the exports. Exporting countries

Literature Review On Special Needs
Literature Review
My action research project was influenced by the national push towards inclusion of children with
special needs into the general education classroom. Because our school was trying to adopt a co
teaching program, this was the area I did most of my research on. I found a multitude of studies that
supported co teaching and analyzed the effects of co teaching on students, teachers and parents. I then
researched the affects of a non inclusive environment on all students. After witnessing how my
students self esteem had plummeted due to their specific grouping, I was not surprised to find research
that supported the theory that students who are identified as having special needs will have lower self
esteem and self worth. In a study done on students with special needs, all of them reported thinking
they would be unable to attend mainstream classes because they did not feel they were successful
learners based on their placement in special education (Griffiths, 2007). This study also revealed the
children with special needs held fears that all adults would think of them as troublemakers because the
classes they were in held a high majority of children with behavior problems (Griffiths, 2007). This
study concentrates on students who attend schools for special needs. These students may feel more
isolated than those who receive special services inside a mainstream school, but those who are
evaluated or receive special education within a mainstream school show the

Stereotypes In Miyazaki s Princess Mononoke
Studio Ghibli is probably one of my most preferred animation studios out there. Their best movies
typically contain powerful female lead characters, which is awesome since you don t really see that in
animation. It s difficult to find female characters who take the situation in their own hands without
waiting for a prince charming to come save the day. Miyazaki, the lead animator is a genius for
coming up with many creative storylines and significant illustrations.
Princess Mononoke (1997)
Princess Mononoke is a dark and adventurous story about man s infinite battle with nature. This movie
is a tale of a Prince (Ashitaka) who travels far away from home in order to find a solution to a curse
that was cast upon him. If left untreated he will die. Ashitaka is pulled between a war throughout his
journey with an industrial village of Iron Town and the animals in the forest led by San, a princess of
wolves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is fierce and an awesome lead to little girls out there. You usually find female characters in
animation portrayed as a damsel in distress. Especially in the mainstream box offices like what Walt
Disney produces. San is the opposite of all the damsel in distress stereotype that females usually have,
instead of waiting around for her home (which was the forest) to be destroyed she helps the main
character Ashitaka rid of the people harming the forest and help the animals living there. She
definitely deserves the number one spot on this list in my opinion.

The Severing Nature Of Sin In Jenson s View Of God
Like any relationship, the relationship between God and his people requires input from both parties.
One of the ways to positively engage in the relationship is through prayer, however, one of the ways to
both actively and negatively engage in this relationship is through sin. Many historical and social
developments have shifted sin into the realm of ethics, however, for Jenson, it is a theological concept.
It is a theological concept in the sense that it relates to the active relationship between man and God,
which stems precisely from being made in the image of God. As a result, sin is what breaks up this
active relationship and community that God has established. Jenson achieves this conception of sin by

The severing nature of sin stems directly from the story of Adam and Eve: their betrayal of God

between humans, in which the woman is directed to be ruled by the husband, and a division between
man and God, in which the people are banished from the garden of Eden and its many blessings.
However, sin is only a rupture, not a complete dissolution, of one s relationship with God and thus, it
is mendable and redeemable. Jenson states that what reunites us with God is not any of our particular
works or actions, rather what unites us with God is our trust in what happens in Christ. It is precisely
this faith and only this faith, this trust, that touches our lives to the divine drama (Jenson

Costco s Corporate Culture Essay
The company has developed a top down structure and is basically organized by the top management.
The top management is not the stereotypical group of businessmen. These people value each and
every employee of the company. Even the CEO and co founder Jim doesn t try to distance himself
from the rest of the staff. His name tag simply says, Jim , no pretense of authority at all, just Jim .
Costco s CEO makes far less than most executives, with a total compensation package of about $4.83
million in 2012. In contrast, Walmart CEO Mike Duke made roughly $19.3 million during the same
year. Walmart s CEO earns as much as 796 average employees, according to CNN Money, compared
to Costco s CEO making 48 times more than the company s median wage. The company has a high
performance culture where the employees have fun and feel excited about their work. They
continuously receive training; build teamwork as well as diversity. Costco is the epitome of the Clan
culture, in that this type of business focuses on its employees; it operates like an extended family with
common goals and shared values. The clan culture values flexibility, employee autonomy and
teamwork rather than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Theory And The Psychoanalytic Theory
Although used predominantly to explain the varying characteristics each individual possesses,
personality is also a term often coined to define and explain the reasons behind an individual s
motivations and reactions to certain events, entities and decisions. Defined by Larson Buss, 2005,
personality is the set of psychological traits and mechanisms within the individual that are organised
and relatively enduring, and that influence his or her interaction with, and adaptions to, the
intrapsychic, physical and social environments. As personality encompasses such a wide array of
concepts, there are many competitive theories battling to explain these dynamic ideas. Of these
theories, is the unorthodox Psychoanalytic theory, developed by ... Show more content on

In contrast, the humanistic approach emphasised the conscious awareness of needs, choices and
personal responsibilities of the individual (Lahey, 2009). They believed that the personal worth of the
particular individual, the centrality of human values, and the creative and active nature of human
beings was what defined the person (McLeod, 2007). Basically, the humanistic approach, according to
Abraham Maslow, was that humans are born good and that human nature is compassionate and
positive (Larsen Buss, 2012).
Both the psychoanalytic and humanistic theories differ from one another in multiple ways. One of the
most prominent differences is their view on human nature. As mentioned above, Freud and his
psychoanalytic concept, viewed humans as inherently bad. The id, he defined, operated solely on the
pleasure principle, craving immediate gratification without consideration about moral values and the
harm it could cause (McLeod, 2008). He also believed that the ego and the superego was the minds
way of controlling the id ((Lahey, 2009; Larsen Buss, 2012; McLeod, 2008).
In contrast, humanistic psychologists viewed human nature as fundamentally good. Maslow had a
positive view on men, believing that each had the ability to grow and mature into proper beings, and
make use of their full potential (Boeree, 2000 Larsen Buss, 2012). The main emphasis of the
humanistic approach, was that an individual has free will and this plays an important role in shaping

Patience Between Caesar And Pompey The Sole Consul
Patience between Caesar and Pompey continued to wear thin, beginning with the dissolution of the
Triumvirate; the three leaders, Caesar, Pompey, and Crassus. Tensions continued to strain when the
senate appointed Pompey the Sole Consul. Appointing Pompey the Sole Consul was not meant to
offend or outrage Caesar, but soon it would become a matter of great importance. The city had been
distracted by frequent street fights between the armed bands of Clodius, a politician known for his
populist tactics; and the armed bands of T. Annius Milo, a political agitator who claimed that he was
defending the cause of the Senate. In one such fights, Clodius was killed; and his death enraged many
followers, resulting in angry mobs and riots. Followers burned his body in the Forum by a wild mob,
and the senate house destroyed during the anarchy. The senate felt obligated to confer power upon
Pompey, and so he was named Sole Consul. Under this title, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

48, Caesar transported his troops from Brundisium across the Adriatic to meet the army of Pompey,
with the few ships he had obtained. There were two battles between the armies of Caesar and Pompey.
In the first at Dyrrhachium (Pronounced: Dyratium), Caesar was defeated. Caesar then retreated across
the peninsula in the direction of Pharsalus, as to draw Pompey and his army away from their seacoast
supplies. In the second and final battle, the two armies led by their generals met in Pharsalus. With
about twenty thousand men, Caesar defeated the army of Pompey, whose army consisted over forty
thousand men. Fleeing to Egypt, Pompey was murdered. Caesar now accomplished the first part of his
plan to rule Rome by taking possession of Italy and defeating the two armies of Pompey in Spain and
Greece. He had established his title to supremacy, and honors were paid to him in Rome. He was made
a consul for five year, a tribune for life, and a dictator for one year. But his ambition had only just

The Relationship Between Antony And Cleopatra
Shelia Ager s article, Marriage or mirage? The Phantom Wedding of Cleopatra and Antony, looks to
discuss any evidence for a wedding between Cleopatra VII and Marc Antony and conclude whether
this event really happened or if it is a myth. Cleopatra and Marc Antony famously had an affair,
resulting in children. They lived and planned with one another, presenting themselves as a couple.
They attempted to conquer land with one another, establishing themselves and their children as the
rulers of multiple kingdoms. However, there are disputes over whether a legal marriage or even a
wedding occurred between them. There are no explicit records from ancient authors about a marriage,
and with two highly public figures records should exist. Ager makes ... Show more content on

The Romans had laws against foreign marriages and Cleopatra was nearly the epitome of everything
non Roman. Antony and Octavian had a complicated relationship, ending in Octavian defeating both
him and Cleopatra. Antony knew that marrying Cleopatra before 32 BC was dangerous, as his wife,
Octavia, was Octavian s sister. Having two wives was illegal, but also abandoning a member of
Octavian s family, would have broken the relationship much quicker. There is no doubt about a
relationship between Antony and Cleopatra; they had children together and presented themselves
alongside one another. The coinage of the two can be seen as them presenting their marriage. On the
other hand, it could simply mean that they had a political relationship more than a romantic
relationship. For some, that would mean that they needed to marry each other. However, for the power
that each person held, a marriage would not have been so heavily enforced. For people of the upper
class, some rules dictated by society did not always apply to them. Modern and ancient ideals about
marriage does not translate to every situation flawlessly. Ager s main point is that there is no hard
evidence for a marriage or a wedding, dubbing it a phantom

Examples Of Resistance To Government In The 1770s
Prologue: A Revolutionary People
1. What sorts of resistance to government occurred in Massachusetts in the 1770s? Compare this
activity to the actions of the Massachusetts Regulators in 1786 87. In what ways are they similar? In
what ways do they differ?
In the 1770s, several different types of government resistance occurred, one of the most well known
being the Boston Tea Party, but this is not the only example of resistance that occurred in
Massachusetts during this time. After British Parliament passed the Massachusetts Government Act,
which handed the judicial system over to the Royal Government, thousands of men, called Liberty
Men , organized protests and resistance in response to it. These Liberty Men forcibly shut down

In the Boom painting, there are a wide variety of goods available in the store. The products range from
food products, like sugar and rum, to farm work and carpentry tools, like nails, to different types of

England. All of these items appear to be currently available as large quantities of each are stocked
throughout the store.

The Themes Of Revenge And Family In The Vendattas
Overall all of my four texts, show us the themes of revenge and family. Each text has either a
character or a set of characters that aim to get their payback because one of their family member s has
been hurt or killed. In the Patriot, Benjamin martin s son was murdered, in Inglouris Bastards,
Shozzanas family was murdered, in Smashed, Toby sisters was raped, and in The Vendattas, the old
widows son was murdered. In each of these texts, the avenger experiences grief and shock and we as
the audience see how that feeling turns into a deep anger that fuels revenge. Furthermore none of the
avengers, have been hurt physically or emotionally directly, it is their family which has been. The
theme of family which connects my four texts, is seen through this idea of family members getting
revenge for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This links to my other theme revenge, since it theirs pain that other family member experiences that
gives warrant to for character to seek revenge. As seen in my texts revenge is seen as a way to satisfy
ones emotions of anger and grief. It is important to note that these ideas are not old ones. Both the idea
of a strong family connection, and getting revenge is simply human nature. All four texts show human
nature at its finest. The variation of time periods of my texts back this up because it shows how human
nature has not changed from the 1700 s to now. Although human nature can be a good thing in terms
of protecting family and survival, it has its flaws. In all four texts, my characters have based their
decisions to seek revenge on their emotions. The irrational decision that my characters make, are form
of human nature also. Human are animals, and we inherit animal instincts such as the ability to make
mistakes. The texts I have selected teach us, through the themes of revenge and family ,that making
decisions based on emotions, instead of using our brain is a dangerous thing to

John B Watson Research Paper
John B. Watson was a psychologist who paved the road for developing behaviorism. Watson believed
that psychology should be based on scientific observable behavior. He is well known for his research
on the conditioning process, as well as the Little Albert experiment, in which he conditioned a child to
fear a previously neutral stimulus. Watson s behavioral theory focused on people s external and
outward behaviors. He believed how a person reacts to something physical provides an insight into
their internal actions. He spent most of his psychology career applying this theory to the study of child
development and early learning (Plucker, 2003).
Watson conducted several experiments exploring emotional learning in children. In his most famous

In S.E. Hinton s book, The Outsiders, Darry Curtis took this duty into his own hands and tackled it as though he was a father. The Outsiders is a book about a rivalry between the two sides of town that leads to the death of three kids, two greasers and Soc. Does the sun set on both sides of town? The main characters in the story, Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry Curtis lose their parents in a car crash and have to adjust to life on their own. The Curtis brothers fear that the state agency will split them up, but they should not get split because they look out for each other, push each other, and need each other. (Hinton 126) The boys have to regulate living life on their own which leads to Darry dropping the thought of college and working instead to help meet his two younger brothers needs. (Hinton 126) Darry is not like the other greasers, he was a strong athlete and did fine in school. Darry would of probably went to college if it was not for the passing of his parents. Correspondingly, Darry wants the most suiting life for his brothers even though Ponyboy viewed it as Darry nagging at him. There s always music being played, people gallivanting in the street, beautiful things being built, and wonderful art work popping up all over the place. One other thing I always get to look forward to is that today someone will die. I know it seems a bit morbid to say that but it s my job. If people didn t die I wouldn t make money out of it. I m a mourner. I get paid by families of the deceased to make a scene, so to say, at a funeral. Each and every day when I wake up the first thing I do is go to the crier to find out if anyone has died. Once I find out the name of the deceased I find their family and discuss with them if they need my service or not. It s not every single time I have to search for the dead. There have been multiple occasions where the family knows that I m a mourner and they seek me out while their loved one is on their death bed and once that person dies they come back to me and tell me it s time that they need my services. It s very rare that I get turned away. Even the poorest of the poor families want at least one of us. It is believed that by us causing such a fuss that someone has died that it will keep the spirit happy and they won t haunt the world of the living. If the family decides to hire me, and it s very rare that they don t, I get the information I need about when the service will be held and I return home to get ready. Once home it s the usual ... • 8. Comparing The Pedestrian And The Flying Machine The famous science fiction author, Ray Bradbury, wrote two short stories, The Pedestrian and The Flying Machine, which utilize two different points of view. The Pedestrian is about a man living in a dystopian, future society. He is arrested for taking a walk at night, which, in this time, is seen as suspicious and even criminal. The Flying Machine is about an Emperor who executes a man for inventing a Flying Machine that he views as dangerous and harmful. Narrative Point of View is the perspective (First Person, Second Person, Third Person, etc) used in a story, or how the narrator tells it. Third person limited is when the narrator knows the thoughts of just one character. The Pedestrian is told from a Third Person Limited perspective, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Walking to see. This excerpt is showing how Leonard Mead s perspective is clashing with the cop car s (society s) perspective. Another conflict is Person vs Person. This type of conflict is basically when a character has a different opinion than another, causing a problem. The Flying Machine is an example of this, because the Emperor s point of view is that the man s flying machine could harm, or be dangerous for China. Call the executioner, said the Emperor. What s this! cried the flier, bewildered. What have I done? He began to weep [...] Here is the man who has made a certain machine, said the Emperor, and yet asks us what he has created. He does not know himself. It is only necessary that he create, without knowing why he has done so, or what this thing will do. This part of the story shows how the Emperor believes that the machine is harmful, and how the inventor is confused about how it possibly could be. In conclusion, Point of View is an essential part of every story. It s used, not only to build character s background and perspectives, and give an idea of the kind of world they re living in, but to also build up conflict (whether it be between two characters, or a character and their society), which is also important to all ... On the contrary, the most difficult experience was practicing empathy which is one of the most essential skills in building rapport and trust with others. Despite having the ability to show empathic rapport, in which I am able to accurately sense and understand others feelings by perceiving the situation through their eyes and perspectives, I struggled in the other component of empathy, which is communicative attunement. The Thalassemia trait is caused by a missing or abnormality on only one beta globin gene. Diseased individuals generally have no symptoms, though some may develop a mild anemia. • 20. Literature Review On Special Needs Literature Review My action research project was influenced by the national push towards inclusion of children with special needs into the general education classroom. Because our school was trying to adopt a co teaching program, this was the area I did most of my research on. I found a multitude of studies that supported co teaching and analyzed the effects of co teaching on students, teachers and parents. I then researched the affects of a non inclusive environment on all students. After witnessing how my students self esteem had plummeted due to their specific grouping, I was not surprised to find research that supported the theory that students who are identified as having special needs will have lower self esteem and self worth. In a study done on students with special needs, all of them reported thinking they would be unable to attend mainstream classes because they did not feel they were successful learners based on their placement in special education (Griffiths, 2007). This study also revealed the children with special needs held fears that all adults would think of them as troublemakers because the classes they were in held a high majority of children with behavior problems (Griffiths, 2007). This study concentrates on students who attend schools for special needs. These students may feel more isolated than those who receive special services inside a mainstream school, but those who are evaluated or receive special education within a mainstream school show the ... Miyazaki, the lead animator is a genius for coming up with many creative storylines and significant illustrations. Princess Mononoke (1997) Princess Mononoke is a dark and adventurous story about man s infinite battle with nature. This movie is a tale of a Prince (Ashitaka) who travels far away from home in order to find a solution to a curse that was cast upon him. If left untreated he will die. • 23. The Severing Nature Of Sin In Jenson s View Of God Like any relationship, the relationship between God and his people requires input from both parties. One of the ways to positively engage in the relationship is through prayer, however, one of the ways to both actively and negatively engage in this relationship is through sin. Many historical and social developments have shifted sin into the realm of ethics, however, for Jenson, it is a theological concept. It is a theological concept in the sense that it relates to the active relationship between man and God, which stems precisely from being made in the image of God. As a result, sin is what breaks up this active relationship and community that God has established. Jenson achieves this conception of sin by once again analyzing God s identity in scripture, specifically his active ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sin is not only the rejection of one s relationship with god, but a rejection of one s relationship to other human beings as well. The aforementioned good moral life is not an individual goal that is separate from God or other human beings, it is a collective goal that forms a community that this sin destroys. The severing nature of sin stems directly from the story of Adam and Eve: their betrayal of God through manifests itself in original sin and relationship severing consequences, there is a division between humans, in which the woman is directed to be ruled by the husband, and a division between man and God, in which the people are banished from the garden of Eden and its many blessings. However, sin is only a rupture, not a complete dissolution, of one s relationship with God and thus, it is mendable and redeemable. Jenson states that what reunites us with God is not any of our particular works or actions, rather what unites us with God is our trust in what happens in Christ. It is precisely this faith and only this faith, this trust, that touches our lives to the divine drama (Jenson ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. The Theory And The Psychoanalytic Theory Although used predominantly to explain the varying characteristics each individual possesses, personality is also a term often coined to define and explain the reasons behind an individual s motivations and reactions to certain events, entities and decisions. Defined by Larson Buss, 2005, personality is the set of psychological traits and mechanisms within the individual that are organised and relatively enduring, and that influence his or her interaction with, and adaptions to, the intrapsychic, physical and social environments. As personality encompasses such a wide array of concepts, there are many competitive theories battling to explain these dynamic ideas. In contrast, the humanistic approach emphasised the conscious awareness of needs, choices and personal responsibilities of the individual (Lahey, 2009). They believed that the personal worth of the particular individual, the centrality of human values, and the creative and active nature of human beings was what defined the person (McLeod, 2007). Basically, the humanistic approach, according to Abraham Maslow, was that humans are born good and that human nature is compassionate and positive (Larsen Buss, 2012). Both the psychoanalytic and humanistic theories differ from one another in multiple ways. One of the most prominent differences is their view on human nature. As mentioned above, Freud and his psychoanalytic concept, viewed humans as inherently bad. The id, he defined, operated solely on the pleasure principle, craving immediate gratification without consideration about moral values and the harm it could cause (McLeod, 2008). He also believed that the ego and the superego was the minds way of controlling the id ((Lahey, 2009; Larsen Buss, 2012; McLeod, 2008). In contrast, humanistic psychologists viewed human nature as fundamentally good. Maslow had a positive view on men, believing that each had the ability to grow and mature into proper beings, and make use of their full potential (Boeree, 2000 Larsen Buss, 2012). The main emphasis of the humanistic approach, was that an individual has free will and this plays an important role in shaping ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Patience Between Caesar And Pompey The Sole Consul Patience between Caesar and Pompey continued to wear thin, beginning with the dissolution of the Triumvirate; the three leaders, Caesar, Pompey, and Crassus. Tensions continued to strain when the senate appointed Pompey the Sole Consul. Appointing Pompey the Sole Consul was not meant to offend or outrage Caesar, but soon it would become a matter of great importance. The city had been distracted by frequent street fights between the armed bands of Clodius, a politician known for his populist tactics; and the armed bands of T. Annius Milo, a political agitator who claimed that he was defending the cause of the Senate. In one such fights, Clodius was killed; and his death enraged many followers, resulting in angry mobs and riots. Followers burned his body in the Forum by a wild mob, and the senate house destroyed during the anarchy. The senate felt obligated to confer power upon Pompey, and so he was named Sole Consul. Caesar then retreated across the peninsula in the direction of Pharsalus, as to draw Pompey and his army away from their seacoast supplies. In the second and final battle, the two armies led by their generals met in Pharsalus. They attempted to conquer land with one another, establishing themselves and their children as the rulers of multiple kingdoms. The Romans had laws against foreign marriages and Cleopatra was nearly the epitome of everything non Roman. Antony and Octavian had a complicated relationship, ending in Octavian defeating both him and Cleopatra. Antony knew that marrying Cleopatra before 32 BC was dangerous, as his wife, Octavia, was Octavian s sister. Having two wives was illegal, but also abandoning a member of Octavian s family, would have broken the relationship much quicker. There is no doubt about a relationship between Antony and Cleopatra; they had children together and presented themselves alongside one another. The coinage of the two can be seen as them presenting their marriage. On the other hand, it could simply mean that they had a political relationship more than a romantic relationship. For some, that would mean that they needed to marry each other. However, for the power that each person held, a marriage would not have been so heavily enforced. For people of the upper class, some rules dictated by society did not always apply to them. Modern and ancient ideals about marriage does not translate to every situation flawlessly.
