Wishful blindness is a lot more common than pure dishonesty it is when someone knowingly stays
oblivious to dishonesty occurring
Becker s theory (SMORC) is that decisions about dishonesty are based on a cost benefit analysis
An increase of police and punishments won t necessarily decrease dishonesty
SMORC isn t necessarily true because people have internal morality that also governs their decisions
Taking little by little is much more common than someone taking a huge amount
I know for a fact that I have looked the other way when something dishonest was going on just so that
we could benefit, and at the time my conscience was convincing me that it wasn t cheating. So I can
understand how common wishful blindness really is.
I m certain that I don t weigh the costs and benefits on everything that I do, so I tend to agree with
Ariely s theory of internal morality being more plausible than SMORC

An allegory is a type of literature that contains a hidden meaning or message about its characters or
setting. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown, allegory is abundantly utilized throughout
the story in the form of characters such as Goodman Brown, representing the universal man of Salem;
Faith, his wife, also representing his religious faith; and Goody Cloyse as a high ranking religious
figure that is secretly hiding an ominous side. Through the allegory, Hawthorne expresses the idea that
the loss of purity and innocence is inevitable.
Young Goodman Brown was cleverly given his name by Hawthorne to refer to the everyday Christian
man living in Salem during the Colonial time period. The first name Goodman literally describes a
good man of Christian faith while Brown represents a common American last name, hence creating a
universal character. Allegory is woven throughout the story, including when Goodman Brown finds
his beloved wife, Faith, practicing rituals with a cult that he encounters in the forest. When Goodman
Brown initially believes he hears Faith s voice in the forest, he investigates only to find her pink hair
ribbons hanging from a branch. At this, Goodman Brown cries, My Faith is gone... There is no good

Safety of the HPV Vaccine There have been concerns about the safety of the HPV vaccines. In Basu s
(2013) article they reviewed the evidence from the phase III trials and national programs for the HPV
vaccine. After reviewing the data though the article showed that all the randomized control trials
reported both their serious and non serious adverse events that took place during the phase III trials.
There were 20,000 participants in the trial (p.4). Pain at the injection site, headache, and fatigue were
the most frequently reported issues. The serious adverse effects were very rare so the vaccine was
considered safe. When reviewing the safety data from the national programs in Australia there were
millions of doses given out and the most adverse side effects there were anaphylactic and allergic

Event Reporting System which totaled 20,096 only 8% of these reports were actually were considered

signed me up for dance classes when I was only four years old, and now almost fifteen years later I am

I got roped into being our troops den leader years ago so I get to teach my small group of cubs about
