Theme Of To My Dear And Loving Husband By Anne Bradstreet
Poetry Analysis
Poetry is a form of literature that can be both artistic and meaningful, with many similarities and
differences between the poetry pieces created by the millions of famous poets throughout history. The
poems To My Dear and Loving Husband by Anne Bradstreet and Shall I compare thee to a summer s
day __ _______ ___________ are two examples of poetry masterpieces that not only have many
things in common, but that also have things that make them unique and singular pieces of literature.
When writing, poets like Shakespeare and Bradstreet try to convey a theme or meaning that they want
their readers to comprehend and understand.
Often, poems from different writers can have a common theme shared between them. In the case of ...

A third similarity between the two poems is the use of a first person narrator. In poem 1, the writer
uses the word I when directly speaking about the narrator s feelings. In poem 2, the writer also uses
the word I , but instead uses it in an indirect, roundabout way that has the same intended meaning as
its use in poem 1. There is, however, a definitive difference between narrator one and narrator 2. This
definitive difference, as alluded to earlier, is the gender of the 2 narrators. The narrator of poem 1, for
example, is a female writing to her husband. However, in today s realistic society it could just as very
well be a guy writing to his husband if some of the minor word details were changed. In poem 2, the
narrator is semi obviously a man talking about a girl. As stated before, this could also be taken into the
context of a girl talking about another girl in today s realistic society.
There is yet another way in which the poems are different. The writing style used by the two writers is
entirely different. For example, Shakespeare normally writes all of his poems and/or sonnets in iambic
pentameter. This means that the poem ends in a rhyming couplet, while the other preceding lines of
the poem follow another rhyme pattern, which in this case is what is known as the a b rhyme scheme.
In the case of Shall I compare thee to a summer s day , the poet uses So long as men can breathe

Examples Of Suspense In The Sniper
The story the sniper is a suspenseful short story written by Liam O Flaherty. The story is about a
republican sniper that has the face of a scholar that is involved in the Irish civil war. The story the
sniper uses suspenseful phrases such as hurriedly, immediately, suddenly, and slowly to describe the
pace of the story. The thesis of The Sniper is that the story uses timing to create suspense. The story
the sniper uses back to back action to create suspense. One example of this in the story the sniper is
when an armoured car appeared along with an informant, which the sniper kills. Right after this the
sniper gets shot by an enemy sniper across the road. This makes the story suspenseful because the
events are happening rapidly which shows how often danger was evident. The sniper raised his rifle
and fired. The head fell heavily on the turret wall. The woman darted toward the side street. The sniper
fired again. The women whirled round and fell with a shriek into the gutter ( Liam O Flaherty 1). ...

An example is when the sniper kills his opponent, right after this event the story spends three
paragraphs talking about his remorse and his curiosity of who the enemy sniper was. This is
suspenseful because it stops the action of a long chain of events. Another example of the sniper using
slow pace for suspense is right after the sniper gets shot. This is suspenseful because the story is
running at a fast pace until he gets shot and hides behind the roof. This makes the story suspenseful
because it makes the reader wonder when the next event will

Corruption Due To Power In George Orwell s Animal Farm
Power is one of the most desired things in the world, and is often hard to attain, but once it is gained it
can often corrupt a person. Corruption due to power is shown in many instances in the book, Animal
Farm. In the book, there is an opening for someone to take control of the power, and the animals that
do are the pigs. The pigs gain the power for many reasons. When power is gained there are many
things people can do with it, either bad or good. The pigs actions in animal farm show the different
ways that power can be used by those in charge.
Knowledge is the primary form of power that the pigs have and take advantage of. Towards the
beginning of the book this is shown when the pigs create a society in which they are superior because
of their intellect: but the pigs were so clever that they could think of a way round every difficulty. As
for the horses, they knew every inch of the field, and in fact understood the business of mowing and
raking far better than Jones and his men had ever done. The pigs did not actually work, but directed
and supervised the others. With their superior knowledge it was natural that they should assume the
leadership. (pg. 27) This shows that the power is distributed unevenly, and the pigs have much more
because they are not working and think that they are above that. the pigs not working shows their
selfish and deceptive side, and that they are trying to say they should not have to work because of their
superior knowledge. The pigs gained

Caillebotte Paris Street A Rainy Day
There are numerous cliché statements regarding art, such as A picture is worth a thousand words or
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder , certainly, this would apply when viewing two paintings depicting
a rainy day in the late 19th Century. The first painting titled Paris Street; A Rainy Day (1877) is by
Gustave Caillebotte and the second is by Childe Hassam titled A Rainy Day on Fifth Avenue (1893).
By first glance, both paintings have some obvious similarities, most notable being people walking in
the rain with horse drawn carriages in the background, but given the period the paintings may have
very different interpretations by the viewer. The two artists use very different painting styles depicting
their ideas of a rainy day. Caillebotte uses the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The streets are cobbled, the afternoon sky is cloud covered and shows a subtle gradation from rose
gray near the horizon to a cool gray toward the top, and everyone is walking under umbrellas. Many
characters look as if they are out for a leisurely stroll, shopping, or just taking in the sights. Men wear
top hats and long tailed coats while the women wear full length dresses, all symbolic of the late 19th
century. The artist used deep colors, making the painting appear darker; perhaps to evoke the feeling
of a rainy day or that it is sometime between late afternoon and early evening. It is interesting to note
that a fashionably dressed Parisian couple (a man and a woman) in the foreground of the painting is
walking toward the viewer. They are portrayed in sharper detail than others are, while objects further
away have fewer distinguishing features. This is especially noticeable when viewing the buildings;
immediately you notice the painting blurs the further away or deeper into the picture it goes.
Caillebotte provides a lot of depth and detail, allowing the viewer to enjoy all that is occurring in the

How Is The Hour Criticism In The Story Of An Hour
In Chopin s short story The Story of an Hour focuses on the character Mrs. Mallard and how she
comes to terms with the death of her husband. But the story also subtly suggests how woman were
labelled as these domesticated creatures and controlled by societies principles in that time and age.
This can be interpreted in the setting of the story and the characterization of the individuals within the
story. The focus of the The Story of an Hour is on Mrs. Mallard, who is the quaint and seemed to be
frail women with a heart condition. Mrs. Mallard is told that her husband was killed in a tragic train
accident. As she processes this devastating news, she realizes that she is free from the chains of her
marriage. That she can finally be the woman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Britches And Hose Theater Company Of Euripides
The review of the Britches and Hose Theater Company of Euripides Medea this production focuses
more on Medea s misery made by her husband betrayal. In this review it mentions, Medea in the
beginning of the play she is portrayed as a hurt women that is broken in despair. This production
wants the audience to first to engage in Medea s pain and to see her as a victim not a sorceress.
Compare to the O kane Theater it s opening had Medea crying of despair and the nurse fearing that
Medea will want revenge. There s a huge difference in the two productions, in the O kane Theater they
focus more on displaying that women all over the world not mattering the race can experience
betrayal. The Britches and Hose Theater Company play focus on Medea character as a woman who
has been betrayed and is painfully suffering from that. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to this review, Jason in this play is portrayed as selfish man and his betrayal to Medea goes well for
his own vengeance that lastly destroys him. By placing Jason as person who is very selfish and only

Composting and Plant Growth
Review of Related Literature
HISTORY OF VERMICOMPOSTING
Vermicomposting, as an industrial process, was originally developed to remove unwanted organic
materials from the agricultural and industrial waste streams. The derived product: earthworm castings,
is now recognized as a high value material which, when blended with soil, can restore soil tilth by
correcting the imbalances caused by the over utilization of petrol chemical based fertilizers; thus
enabling crops and plants to naturally combat pests and diseases, all resulting in increased crop
production and general plant health.
Using European technology we began researching production processes and the potential of
Vermicomposting over 20 years ago. In 1991 we built the first ... Show more content on

We developed our operational protocols from this research, and this research and operational training
goes with every system.
Other investigations concentrated on the properties of Vermicompost that increased plant growth. The
increased plant growth observed greatly exceeded any of the nutrient inputs applied and all recent
plant growth trials received balancing levels of nutrient inputs to ensure nutrients were not the cause. *
Small additions of Vermicompost decreased the incidence of various plant diseases and the numbers
of plant parasitic nematodes were suppressed. * Further research investigating production methods
(Third part of Phase I and II) and effective practical applications of water soluble elutriates for foliar
application for immediate disease and pest control are ongoing. Initial results were completed in June
2009 : Liquid Extracts for Disease and Pest Control. * Heat sterilization of finished Vermicompost
was shown to remove all plant growth enhancing properties, but these could be restored by the
addition of aqueous extracts of un sterilized Vermicompost. This demonstrates the key factor is clearly
microbial, most likely associated with plant growth regulators and increased levels of humic acid and
folic acid found in Vermicompost. * Results showed

Beltway Poetry Slam Analysis
I attended the Beltway Poetry Slam which was held at the Busboys and Poets in Brookland NE.
During the poetry slam, I silently took notes in the back of the room and I made sure I was not
interrupting the scenery.
Before walking in, I didn t know what to expect. I choose to go to the Beltway Poetry Slam, because I
would have the opportunity to hear and feel the poets raw emotions. Before walking in, I thought the
poetry slam would have more of a competitive aspect.
There was very little competition and the poets didn t try to rebut or argue back. This experience
helped dispel some of my preconceived notions about how poetry slams work. I thought all poetry
slams are hyper competitive and but the poets who performed seemed as though they enjoyed being
on stage and they didn t seemed stressed.
During my time at Beltway Poetry Slam, I realized there were several common trends. All of the poets
were Black/African American and they brought up the negative problems pertaining to the community
such as abuse, rape, police brutality, violence, black women struggles, etc; essentially becoming the
themes of the poetry slam. These poets noted whether they have ... Show more content on

me. Bravery is a feeling that is hard for me to emulate at times and his statement is a good reminder
for me. The uses of the hashtag painted deeper meaning for me. Social media is a powerful tool and
can be used for good or bad; in this context, Moman used the hashtag to paint happiness and joy

Compare The Poems I Wander As A Lonely Cloud By William...
Comparison and Contrast Research Paper The poems I wander as a lonely cloud and To an athlete
dying young are equally different, and similar in many ways. How are these poems different let alone
similar? you may ask. Well in this essay I will compare and contrast the poems that will give you
insight on how the characteristics of these two poems differentiate and, are comparable. For example
tone, symbolism, and structure each play a big part in both poems. However in essay you will also
know the role of these three characteristics, and how each one can makes the poems whole. I wander
as a lonely cloud by William Wordsworth represents that loneliness can bring the bliss of solitude. In
the poem Wordsworth start it off with the speaker wandering in valleys and high hills. The speaker
compares himself as a cloud because a cloud represents loneliness and bemusement, and that
represents the speaker s feelings. The speaker continues to wander until he sees daffodils by a lake
dancing. As the speaker watches the daffodils he explains their dancing as carefree, gleeful and happy.
I saw a crowd a host of daffodils; Beside a lake, beneath the trees, fluttering in the breeze. (Lines 4 6).
The speaker gives the daffodils personality to show the daffodils have humanlike qualities which gives
the flowers life. Along the margin of bay: Ten Thousand I saw at a glance, Tossing their heads in
sprightly dance. (Lines 10 12). After watching the dancing daffodils, the speaker then realizes that the
flowers give him a gift, and that is the bliss of solitude. This gift of solitude helps the speaker out of
his lonesome state and, whenever he feels lonely he remembers the bliss of solitude. And then my
heart fills with pleasure, And the daffodils dance. (Lines 21 24). The speaker thinks of the daffodils,
because of the solitude in his heart which this solitude gives him joy and peace. The speaker comes to
realize that loneliness doesn t last forever, and with solitude he will find serenity and comfort. To an
Athlete Dying Young the speaker talks about a young athlete that died at a young age. The first stanza
of the poem starts out with a cheerful tone as the speaker is remembering the athlete winning a big
race,

Theme Of Friendship In Chaim Potok s The Chosen
The theme of friendship courses through Chaim Potok s book, The Chosen. Potok desires to show the
reader what a strong friendship looks like and how it stands up to the test of time. When two people
know each other well and spend a lot of time together, there are bound to be misunderstandings,
fights, and other trials. Yet God says in His word As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens
another. (New American Standard Bible, Proverbs 27:17) Even when friendships are difficult, they
can sharpen the people involved in the friendship, like in the case of Danny and Reuven. Danny and
Reuven s friendship lasts through Danny s irrational behavior, Reuven s outbursts of anger, and Reb
Saunders s absurd beliefs. Danny and Reuven s friendship begins because of, and continues in spite of,
Danny s irrational thoughts. The reader sees Danny s irrational side in Danny and Reuven s first
meeting and in Danny s refusal to try to see from the point of view of his psychology teacher. Danny
Reuven first meet on a baseball field where Danny feels irrational hate towards Reuven. He tells
Reuven later, I wanted to walk over to you and open your head with my bat (Potok, 65). Even though
Danny begins their acquaintance with harmful thoughts toward Reuven, an unlikely friendship forms
between them. When faced with a psychology professor who believes differently about psychology
than he does, Danny does not try to see from the professor s side, instead, he irrationally only thinks
about how miserable he feels learning from the professor s approach to psychology. (186). When
Reuven approaches Danny and tries to reason with him, that he should try to like it, Danny blows up;
however, Reuven remains ready to forgive as he does not want to lose their friendship. Through
Danny s harmful thoughts and irrational feelings toward Reuven and others, Reuven and Danny s
friendship stays strong. After Danny s original murderous intents towards Reuven, only Reuven s
anger stands in the way of their friendship. Reuven has outbursts of anger towards Danny when he
comes to visit Reuven in the hospital and towards Danny s father. When Danny comes to apologize to
Reuven, Reuven tells him For my part, you can go to hell (61). Even after

Theme Of Naruse When A Woman Ascends The Stairs
Against the neon backdrop of the high level entertainment business, women inside this floating world
are a glamorous and ambivalent existence in When a Woman Ascends the Stairs, constantly making an

female psychological universe in this film, and I would like to construct a fresh observation
concerning his way of representation without putting this film in the established niche of Naruse
cinema or Women s Film (josei eiga) in the first place. Although When a Woman Ascends the Stairs

The Importance Of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental disorder that can develop after an individual
experiences or witnesses a traumatic event. PTSD is a mental disorder that people may develop after
experiencing one or more traumatic events such as acts of interpersonal violence, severe accidents,
natural disasters, or a military related experience (Gaskell, 2005). Exposure to traumatic stressors does
not always bring about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder but when symptoms prevent an individual from
participating in everyday life, they have developed the mental disorder (Ford, 2015). It is important to
note that those at risk of PTSD include not only those who are directly affected by a horrific event, but
also witnesses to a traumatic act, perpetrators who may commit a traumatic act, and those who help
PTSD sufferers; like first responders who may experience vicarious traumatization after helping those
in need (Gaskell, 2005).

Choice Theory Middle Adulthood
As we go through our developmental life span in young and middle adulthood, we become involve in
situations that we cannot change, but we as individuals can make a choice to change ourselves.
Choices start to be done in infancy and continue through the physiological, developmental stages of
childhood, adolescence, young, middle and older adulthood (Glasser, 2010). Dr. William Glasser
developed the Choice Theory which is defined as the explanation of human behavior based on internal
motivation (Glasser, 2010). In this paper, the choice theory will be examined to explain human
behavior in young and middle adulthood, how this theory can be incorporated into social work

The Chinese Communist government has complete power over the legislation, economic and cultural

is the interesting biblical story of the beheading of St. John the Baptist, as it s title suggests. The story
goes that Salome performed a dance for the king and his guests. Herod Antipas saw Salome s dance
and was so impressed, and drunk, that he promised to give her whatever she asked of him. After
consulting her mother, Salome asks Herod for the head of John the Baptist. Herod delivered on his
promise, and had the head of John the Baptist delivered to her on a platter, as she asked. Reni s
painting depicts a contented Salome being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cool green and grays that surrounds Salome can symbolize her cool, calm, staid disposition, and
almost blasé attitude in light of what is before her, the head of a dead man. The two women in the
back left of the plane are wearing more vibrant colors but are muted by a shadow. Salome is the focal
point of the piece, therefore receiving more light and wearing brighter colors than the other figures in
the painting. She and the head of John the Baptist are the only figures that are not crossed by a
pronounced shadow, both are illuminated by the light that extends from the right of the composition.
This value construction puts emphasis on the two main characters, the figures that hold the most
narrative weight.
Goldish yellow, pink and white are the colors of Salome s dress. The yellow in Salome s dress can be
taken as a reflection of her confident and satisfied posture and facial expression. Pink can symbolize
femininity or sexuality, a major factor behind the events of the story. For it was Salome s display of
these qualities, in her dance, that moved Herod so much as to grant her any request. These vibrant
colors also provide contrast to the cool background, with pink (a tint or red) serving as a contrast to
green, further emphasizing the protagonist woman and relating to the viewer her significance in the
story behind the depiction. Similarly, in Cupid Chastised vibrant foreground colors contrast a neutral
background. Mars fiery red garment stands

Standards-Based Education Reform
Overview of Standards Based Education Reform and the Common Core In 1983, President Reagan s
National Commission on Education released a landmark report on educational reform. A Nation at
Risk: The Imperative for Educational Reform. It had been widely believed that America had lost its
position as the world s leader in commerce, industry, science, and technological innovation. And that
this was due to the fact that the educational foundations of our society were being eroded by a rising
tide of mediocrity that threatened the nation and her people. The report went further and famously
noted, If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational
performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

What Are The Stereotypes In The Cosby Show
Through the positive portrayal of the Huxtable family, depicted as respected and wealthy middle class
folk, The Cosby Show challenged dominant cultures understanding of blackness. The family sitcom
managed to dispel old stereotypes of blacks, while providing a more respected and realistic portrayal
of typical black families. Bill Cosby s attempts to be educational while subtly addressing issues such
as black male stereotypes, discrimination, and other socially relevant topics. The show was perceived
differently by blacks and non blacks.

Except for some strategically placed symbols of blackness such as black magazines, black art and
HBCU black college sweaters, topics like race, culture, and the associations of both were minimized
on the show. Many believed that the shows attempts to provide an alternate depiction of African
Americans does not correctly reflect the typical Black family or life. The domestic bliss of the
Huxtable household is perceived by whites as the exception to the rule of black family life,
reaffirming the idea that racism would not be a problem if only blacks were more like us () This
concept, known as Enlightened racism , caused many black viewers to dislike the show. They now
faced a new form of racism, consisting of white audiences believing that racial inequality in the
United States is due to the inadequate aspirations of black peoples (). Many believed blacks were no
longer discriminated against in the schools, the job market, and the courts. The show failed to discuss
current issues in black society like white power and prejudice, unequal educational and employment
opportunities, and racism. The Cosby show seemed to live in a fantasy world, unrealistically showing
a family that did not face discrimination, racism, or unequal opportunities in the 1950 s. However,
Cosby insisted that the show never highlight racial conflict. The success of

his thumb and second finger. While Krystian plays the piano he angles his body away from the piano.
I feel that this affects his sound when he plays the piano. Another thing I noticed while watching
Krystian playing Chopin Ballade was that he swayed his body repeatedly. As he played he lifted his
hand a great distance from the keys. He has his own techniques that he uses. These techniques seem to
be the keys, which give off that soft sound that Zimerman seems to produce as he plays. I m not trying
to criticize Zimerman at all but half the time he seems to focus on displaying a despicable amount of

Role Play Analysis
At one point in time, I hated role plays. You never know what to expect from one second to the next.
Feelings of anxiety and some nervousness always sprout up when I know there is a role play to
perform. Furthermore, the thought of acting, knowing it was not a real scenario is daunting.
Everybody would be staring at you, and this makes me slightly uncomfortable. Many thoughts raced
through my mind. For example, What if I said the wrong thing, what if I did the wrong thing; or what
if my acting skills were not up to par. Role playing made no sense to me because, in real life
situations, I knew it would be different. I would be able to respond accordingly, and not feel judged by
all of the eyes that were focused on me. As a result, my client in real life would benefit from our
therapeutic sessions. It is funny though, because once the role play in the class started, feelings of
calmness surrounded me. In addition, my game face was on, I was cool and collected. In part this can
be attributed to the calm atmosphere my classmates created, and also, the fact the professor met me
where I was at. He portrayed an elderly individual who was experiencing symptoms of depression.

The Importance Of Voting In Canada
Voting in Canada is more important now than ever. At the last federal election on October 19th 2015,
there was an overall voter turnout of 68.3%. This was the highest voter turnout Canada had seen at a
federal election in two decades. Out of 35,85 million people in Canada, 3,6 million people casted their
ballots. However, with the overall increase of people that showed up to this election, the number of
young people, especially those aged 18 24 that attended, was at an all time low. This has created a
great deal of concern for when these people get to be older and more younger people will be eligible
to vote, if there will be anybody in Canada who are still voting with interest and not just abstaining to.
It s important that the most amount of people in Canada vote as possible so that our government is
solely represented by people who Canadians agree with their political statements and beliefs. There s
no point in the country being run by people and parties who Canadians don t agree with because their
main job as representants of the country is to voice the beliefs and concerns of those Canadians. It s
important for Canadians to be encouraged to vote young because it is the first years of being legal age
to vote that are uninterested in doing so.

The Weather Of Panama City Beach
The weather in Panama City Beach, Florida, is beautiful in June. Though the twelve hour trip down
there seemed very long and boring, the trip was ultimately worth it. There are a lot of interesting
things to do in Panama City Beach, Florida. The first thing that we did when we finally got there, was
to check into the hotel and take our stuff to the room, which was on the first floor facing the beach. It
had three rooms. One had the kitchenette, a couch, and a bed with a TV mounted on the wall across
from it. The second room had two beds and a TV mounted on the opposite wall. In between the two
rooms was the bathroom. After we finished looking around the rooms, we went out to the white sand
beach through the sliding glass doors in the first room to watch the sunset. The colors of the sunset
against the light green water were amazing. The reds, oranges, and yellows seemed more vibrant next
to the color of that water. It made me wonder why people don t just stay on the beach for the rest of
their lives. I knew that I would have happily stayed there forever just to see sunsets like that every
night for the rest of my life. We stayed on the beach until the sun was completely gone and the sky
was dark. After the beach was completely dark and quiet, we headed back to the hotel. The hotel had
many things to do inside. The first thing we did when we got back inside was go to the front desk to
see all the activities that they had at our hotel. We decided that we wanted to do the

Rolling A Ball Analysis
By a show of hands, how many people on hear have ever seen professional bowling on TV? Were you
curious about how they about how they were able to make the ball react down the lane? If yes, you are
one of many. Today I will explain how to manipulate your ball so that it reacts. To somebody who is
unfamiliar with the specifics of the sport, it can be difficult to comprehend all the parts of this
seemingly simple idea of rolling a ball. These parts can be broken down into three steps. These steps
are, the set up, the approach, and the release.
Those of you who have been to a bowling alley might have noticed that the flooring strips on the
approach and lanes are very narrow and inefficient, however this is by design and meant to assist the
bowler. The dots on the floor that you walk on, the arrows that are painted on the lanes, and the
narrowly cut floor boards are the equivalent to the yard markings ... Show more content on

There are two different approaches which very slightly. The two approaches are the four step and five
step approach. Both approaches should be straight, begin slowly and pick up speed with every step.
The four step starts with the bowler stepping with their dominant leg first. At the same time you begin
to move the ball, initially pushing the ball forward to straighten your arm then drawing your arm
straight back. You then alternate your steps moving towards the lane. The only variations from the
four to five step approach is that your first step is with your non dominant leg and the ball does not
begin to move until your dominant leg moves. So the ball remains still for the first step. On the last
step of your approach you will slide on your non dominant foot as you bring your arm straight
forward, all while keeping your eyes on your designated target. As you bring your arm forward you
will find the last step in your

Nucleophilic Preparation Of 1-Bromobutane Lab Report
Nucleophilic Addition of Bromine Discussion: The goal of this lab is to create 1 bromobutane through
the nucleophilic addition of bromine to 1 butanol. Sulfuric acid is used on this lab to help protonate
the alcohol, thereby transforming it into water thus making a better leaving group. The bromide ion
can then attack and allow for the formation of 1 bromobutane. The reaction starts through a reflux. A
reflux allows for a mixture or compound to be continuously heated and condensed, so that no product
is lost to evaporation, while still providing enough activation energy for the reaction to occur. The
apparatus is simply a round bottom flask attached to a condenser with a continuous flow of water in
and out. In this experiment the reaction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The confirmation that 1 bromobutane was the final product obtained was confirmed by a infrared
spectroscopy. The IR spectra produced by the product being tested aligned with the expected
functional groups of 1 bromobutane. A C H stretch, and CH2 bend were observed at 2961.17 cm 1 and
1464.7 cm 1 respectively. The fingerprint region of the the IR spectra of the product being tested also
aligned with the reference IR spectra for 1 bromobutane. However, the peak a 740.cm 1 had a larger
transmittance or amount of light absorbed than expected which may be due to scattering of the sample
and the small presence impurities. However, all the expected wavelength of peaks in the fingerprint
region were approximately the same as the reference IR spectra for 1 bromobutane. Alkyl halide tests
were performed to further confirmed that a halogenated product was produced. Both Sodium iodide
and silver nitrate tests formed precipitate thus confirming a halogenated product. Furthermore, the
sodium iodide reaction with the product occurred much more rapidly than the silver nitrate test,
therefore, it can be assumed that the Sn2 route is preferred because the product has a lack of steric
hinderance. The combination of the IR spectra of the isolated product, which showed the expected
functional of a 1 bromobutane sample, as well as a fingerprint region that

The Slave Ship And Hokusai s The Great Wave Off Kanagawa
In the Turner s The Slave Ship and Hokusai s The Great Wave off Kanagawa, the two artists use the
complexity and versatility of the ocean to display important events and ideas of the time period.
Through the use of different artistic techniques, these two artists are able to capture similar settings in
very different ways with very different meanings. Around the age of six years old, Hokusai began
painting and even spent time as an apprentice wood carver in his youth. He began the art of print
making when he was eighteen. His most famous painting, The Great Wave, can be seen in museums
all over the world even though Japan delayed it from catching on worldwide. Many believe that it was
painted in the early 1800s, but Japan was not interacting culturally with other countries apart from
trade with China and Korea. It wasn t until 1859 when the Japanese were forced to open their ports
that prints of The Wave spread across Europe. Originally, this piece wasn t viewed as real art by
Japanese politicians and art historians. Wood block printing was used for commercial use and as a
popular form of expression. The Japanese government wasn t too thrilled that such a seemingly
lowbrow art form had come to define them (15 Things). About five thousand to eight thousand prints
were made but it is speculated that only a few hundreds of The Great Wave remain. The painting
actually inspired music like Debussy s La Mer. In Hokusai s The Great Wave off Kanagawa, Mount
Fuji can be seen in

Humor By Mairs Summary
Humor can be a powerful instrument in an arduous situation, although it may seem like a form of
stupidity to some. Professor Mairs finds humor through self deprecation even though she is sick.
Professor Mairs wrote, [a]lmost every pickle that I get into as a result of my weakness and clumsiness
and I get into plenty is funny as well as maddening and sometimes painful (Mairs, 259). The author is
teaching the reader that having a good sense of humor makes a bad situation bearable, even a painful
one. There are many forms of humor that are shown to be Mairs way of relieving the frustration that
comes with being crippled, when she gives an account of her falling in a restroom at work due the
disease s effect on her body, and she laughs at herself. Professor Mairs writes, Saturday afternoon, the

Digital Gap In Australia Essay
Participation and Digital Divide
Laptops, smartphones, smartwatches and the Internet are all good examples that show how much
human life has been relying on digital technologies in the past two decades. Nevertheless, digital
divide, the phenomenon that not all people have access to digital technologies, still prevails in
Australia. The recent Australia Digital Inclusion Index (ADII) report states that the increase in Internet
coverage in the country has been little in the last three years, especially in South Australia and
Tasmania, and the lower income group uses the Internet significantly less than the richer (Thomas,
2017). This certainly has much to do with the affordability of hardware and Internet services for
people with low socioeconomic status, but such a divergence may also be explained by the absence of
infrastructure, such as the broadband network service, in the remote regions (Park et al., 2015,
p.3633). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the problem in concern is not simply having access or not. People who suffer from this gap in
the use of digital technologies are believed to lose certain social and financial benefits (McFadden,
2017), and this is not unique in Australia. In a 2014 Dutch survey, van Deursen and van Dijk (2014,
p.520) identified that the lower educated people, though surprisingly used the Internet more than their
more educated counterparts, were less likely to utilise the Internet for information and personal
development. This means that possessing suitable skills and attitude may be more important than
having access to digital technologies when it comes to benefitting the

Universal Theory And Cultural Care Diversity By Madeleine...
A new graduate registered nurse was recently hired as an emergency room nurse on a level 1 trauma
hospital center. Although the clinical experience as a nursing student gave her basic knowledge and
understanding about the importance of the nursing profession in a health care setting, the fast paced
environment required her to have more application of her cultural awareness. In her current practice,
she worked with Patient Z, a 33 year old male who is an immigrant from Southeast Asia, who needed
a transfusion of packed red blood cells (PRBC) for his preexisting anemia. The patient avoided eye
contact all throughout the assessment and denied any pain or discomfort. The patient eventually
denied the treatment due to his religion and beliefs. He later disclosed that he is a practicing Jehovah s
Witness. The nurse respected the client s decision of the patient to decline the treatment and collected
all of the information she could find about the patient s culture as a Southeast Asian and a Jehovah s
Witness. While doing so, she coordinated with the physician in taking another treatment course for
this patient. The patient agreed to receive Erythropoietin treatment as a substitute for the initial care
plan and was carefully monitored which resulted to favorable outcome validated by the patient s lab

Deaf Persuasive Speech
Take a second, close your eyes, and imagine silence. Nothing is going on around you; you can t even

nothingness. People hustle about you, yelling at you to move out of their way, but still... nothing. This
is the reality of a deaf person s world. Every day they wake up to this, and nothing more. When out in

Although it is possible for deaf children to attend public schools and succeed, research suggests that it
is best for them to have their own environment, says Meagan McDonough. It is already hard enough
for a hearing student to find his/her place in the classroom, but when you add being deaf to the list, a
major challenge presents itself. This deaf student must work extra hard to keep up and be able to read
the lips of his/her teachers and fellow peers, and learn to communicate. Even though accommodations
are made and sometimes interpreters are given, it is hard for the student to feel welcome. If this
student were to attend a deaf school, he/she would not have to work so hard and would find it much
easier to communicate and socialize both of which are major focuses in a high school student s life. In
Meagan McDonough s article Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children in Public Schools , she states that
public schools might not be best for deaf students, but if they start out in a deaf school and eventually
integrate into a hearing school, they will be better off and be able to keep up. I agree with her in that it
is good for a child to at least start his/her education in a deaf school so that the base of their foundation
is laid by something they can understand. If later they feel comfortable trying out a public school, they
may do so and will find it easier to be and feel included. However, if ASL was to be offered in all
public schools and colleges, it would give hearing students the chance to be able to communicate and

The City Of Detroit
As a critic interacting with this thing I deduce that it reflects my values and aspirations as a designer
because as stated in my ethos, it challenges the viewers to reflect and to act upon them. It allows for
individuals to think about what object creates meaning in their lives by seeing examples provided by
my work. The Heildberg project was created using artifacts that contributed to the history and value of
the city of Detroit. My project also allows for individuals to explore their creativity and encourage a
stronger connection of the community.
The first of these two things was designed by me during the winter term of my second year at

Much Ado About Nothing Quote Analysis
In the evaluation of the third act of the play, Much Ado About Nothing written by William
Shakespeare, it is clear and evident that one quote stands out among all the others to show the most
meaning and the most important to the vitality of the third act of the play. In the text, Shakespeare
states, The word is too good to paint out her wickedness. I could say she were worse. Think you of a
worse title, and I will fit her to it. Wonder not till further warrant. Go but with me tonight, you shall
see her chamber window entered, even the night before her wedding day. If you love her then,
tomorrow wed her. But it would better fit your honor to change your mind (3.2.102 109). When Don
John, the play s infamous villian, decides to trick Claudio into thinking that Hero is disloyal, it
demonstrates the overall feeling of sabotage in the third act, all in combination with the lie that Don
John has created and released among the other characters to try and inflict sadness on the fiancé of
Hero, or Claudio. Overall, the critiacal aspect of this quote to the endurance of the rest of the act is

Boxing is Not a Violent Sport Essay
Boxing is a sport full of hard hitting, fast movements and lots of blood, but being a boxer is not too
brutal for the society but it does have its good and bad.
Boxing was found back in 697B.C in Germany. When it was first aired on TV people didn t like it
much and was commented as the worst TV show. But as the years went on more people started to get
interested in the sport, and then kids wanted to become like their favorite boxer. And soon after boxing

They will then have an opportunity to face a ranking boxer; if they win they will be an amateur boxer
and start their career.
With more money means more taxes, and pulse the coaching fee, doctor fee, and the arena fee. Means
less for the boxer and if the boxer gets seriously injured in his matches he would have to pay extra for
staying in the hospital. The dangers about this sport is getting punched in the head and stomach
multiply times that can lead to broken ribs, swelling, painful stomach pains, hemming, skull fractures,
concussion, broken nose, and jaw bones. Boxers risk their lives to put on a show for the fans, but the
loser gets paid less or might not get paid depending on the contract. A boxer s worst fear is getting
seriously hurts and not being able to provide for their family. Some of them would spend more time in
the gym training with their coaches thinking of new ways of beating their opponents and gaining more
support from the fans, which takes away spending time with their family. All boxers wanted to
become the best boxer they can be and win lots of belts along with more money. But by doing that
puts their family in jeopardy of falling apart.
The best thing about this sport is being a V.I.P fan. A V.I.P. is a person who has won or earned the right
to choose what they want, and for boxing that means having front row seats to three matches, gift
bags, interviews with their favorite boxers, autographs, and after parties. With more fans

Tulipmania
What was Tulipmania? Tulipmania was the craze trade of tulip bulbs in Holland. The selling and
trading of tulips went on until 1637 when it took a sudden downhill. (Goldgar) Back then they would
sell tulip bulbs for more than the price of their house. This is a perfect example of the many risks you
take that can lead to a financial crash ( A story of tulips and bitcoin : When tulips cost as much ... ).
The main place for trading tulips was the Menniste Bryloft, owned by Jan Theunisz at the time. The
Mennist Bryloft was a tavern in Amsterdam, Holland. Lots of visitors and tourists would come to this
tavern just to see the different artwork, water features, and to trade tulip bulbs. People with similar
interests to tulip trading would also meet here. The people that would meet here were often apart of a
drama or poetic group(Goldgar). The tulip was first found in Europe in the late 16th century(Price).
There are lots of different types of tulips that they would trade. The tulips contained a virus that
changed the appearance of the tulip(Beattie). There are red and yellow striped tulips and purple and
white striped tulips called switsers(Goldgar). There are over 3,000 varieties of tulips( Tulip Types ). (

As shown in this picture prices for tulips gradually increased and dramatically decreased over a short
period of time. This dramatic decrease of price came with the loss of selling tulips. Tulips sold for
really high prices when everybody wanted them. Later when lots of people started to sell tulips for
profits, nobody would buy any because everybody was trying to do the same thing(Price). This ended
in one of the biggest economic crashes. Causing everybody to go

The Solution To Save Many Lives From The War Over Land Between Israel And Palestine
Mr. Virmani
World History Honors
The Arab Israeli conflict is a battle for land between two sides. One side is the Arabian community
and the other side is the Palestinian community. The Arabians are saying that the land belongs to them
because God told them that it was their promised land or holy land. The Palestinians are coming into
the land a attempting to claim it as theirs. This conflict is insane because both communities are killing
each other almost daily. It is also absurd because they could split the land equally instead of harming
or killing each other (Virmani, n.d.).
I believe the Arabians should have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also deserve to have the land because it has been discovered that the Arabs are related to the
original Arabs/Israelis.
I would create a state for the Palestinians people because it would probably stop the conflict between
the two communities. I also think it would lower the amount of terrorism drastically. Also I believe
that giving Palestine a state would lower the amount of civilians dying between Arabs and
Palestinians. If we give Palestine their own state we should let the Arabs and PAlestine have their own
separate government so that each state could live the way the wanted to and they would not have to
divide the rules and then argue over that(Karsh, n.d.) (Whitbeck, 2012). I would split Israel in half and
make them share Jerusalem and split that in half so that the Arabs would get half and the Palestinians
would get half of Jerusalem although it would be difficult. I would split Israel in half so that the Arabs
and the Palestinians would get an equal share of the land so that the Arabs would get their holy land
back. Even though the Palestinians will be getting less than they have now it will work out because
they are both getting equal land and they will both have a government to govern each state
separately(Virmani, n.d.) (Whitbeck, n.d.).
The positive effects of the U.S. keeping a close alliance with Israel are that Israel provides a lot of
information on terrorists

Rio 2 Stereotypes
Rio 2 is an animated movie, which takes in the early 2000 s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It features a
family of Blue Spix Macaw traveling to the Amazon Rainforest. After learning that they are not the
only living members of their species, they attempt to reunite with the remainder of their family. The
movie is a significant film to analyze because it involves a family traveling internationally to Brazil
and looks into many of the traditions and cultures of that region. Although the movie educates the
viewer about certain customs of the region, it has the capability of subliminally teaching young
children different stereotypes by the usage of certain types of languages. The movie features the

Society often perceives people with British accents as cunning, sly, and evil. Nigel continues to
reinforce this stereotype because he is the antagonist in the movie with the sole mission of destroying
the lead family. Nigel utilizes a distinct vernacular, The croeking cocketoo cloth billow for revenge.
That s Shakespeare by the way (22:15). Unlike the birds who utilize the Anglo American vernacular or
Black English, Nico uses a sophisticated vocabulary, a raised vowel sounds, and references to
literature. This reinforces that stereotype that British people are smarter and more shrewd than others.
The physical depiction of Nigel also builds this stereotype. Unlike the other birds, Nigel is seen
wearing clothing and by association is better than the others. This ultimately reinforces the ideal that
people with British accents are slick, cunning, and are only motivated by their own self

Research design: It is a survey type of research design that includes tables and data that is collected by
the surveys that have been conducted on the 427 Slovak high school and university students. There
were many correlations in the research that was done. Most of it had to deal with that people who are
avoidant and spontaneous decision makers do not have the best mental health or do not know how to
deal with certain aspects of their life. They investigated the psychometric characteristics of the GDMS
and its inner consistency and subscale intercorrelations. Then they studied the relationships between
decision making styles and decision making competencies. Lastly they explored the associations
between the decision making styles and the three indicators of mental health which are ones well
being, how people perceive stress and depression. Time frame: The research lasted a couple of years
between 2003 2012 and some during 1999 Operational definitions (Jargon): The few jargon that I
found were these few terms General Decision Making Scale (GDMS), DSM manual, Adult Decision

Four Perfect Mate Traits
The four perfect mate traits
Everyone has their own idea of what the perfect mate is. Those who are ready to take relationships
seriously, think long and hard about the characteristics someone possesses before they make
commitments to them. Some may be looking for a spouse that will always make them laugh, or
someone who s a good listener. While both of those can be good traits to have, I look at finding a
spouse on a much deeper level. Here are the top four traits that are most important to me. Although I
am an open minded person and respectful of all views, my perfect mate will have to have the same
religious views as me. This is important to me, because I do take Christianity seriously, and I want to
be able to share that with my future ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When people first start dating, they have the spark , and always work extra hard to impress the other.
A lot of times, after they ve been together for years, they get comfortable and just stop trying to do
better, for their spouse but also for themselves. I want my mate and I to constantly grow together and
do our very best to be the best we can be. Lastly, as cheesy as it may sound, I want him to be my hero.
Yes, I said it, my hero. All of my life, I ve been very independent and never the kind to ask for help. I
want my mate to know me for the stubborn, hard headed woman that I am, and swoop in and lend a
hand whenever I need it without even being asked. He doesn t have to be superman, he doesn t have to
make lots of money, but I want him to care so much, that he will stop at nothing to bring me
happiness. The perfect mate for me isn t made up of superficial qualities. I m just looking for qualities
from the heart. As I said, marriage is teamwork, so I will bring him as much happiness as he brings
me. I firmly believe that our Christian values that we ll share will be the most important part of our
relationship together. When we both actively seek God, and make Him the center of our relationship,
we will succeed

  • 2. Theme Of To My Dear And Loving Husband By Anne Bradstreet Poetry Analysis Poetry is a form of literature that can be both artistic and meaningful, with many similarities and differences between the poetry pieces created by the millions of famous poets throughout history. The poems To My Dear and Loving Husband by Anne Bradstreet and Shall I compare thee to a summer s day __ _______ ___________ are two examples of poetry masterpieces that not only have many things in common, but that also have things that make them unique and singular pieces of literature. When writing, poets like Shakespeare and Bradstreet try to convey a theme or meaning that they want their readers to comprehend and understand. Often, poems from different writers can have a common theme shared between them. In the case of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A third similarity between the two poems is the use of a first person narrator. In poem 1, the writer uses the word I when directly speaking about the narrator s feelings. In poem 2, the writer also uses the word I , but instead uses it in an indirect, roundabout way that has the same intended meaning as its use in poem 1. There is, however, a definitive difference between narrator one and narrator 2. This definitive difference, as alluded to earlier, is the gender of the 2 narrators. The narrator of poem 1, for example, is a female writing to her husband. However, in today s realistic society it could just as very well be a guy writing to his husband if some of the minor word details were changed. In poem 2, the narrator is semi obviously a man talking about a girl. As stated before, this could also be taken into the context of a girl talking about another girl in today s realistic society. There is yet another way in which the poems are different. The writing style used by the two writers is entirely different. For example, Shakespeare normally writes all of his poems and/or sonnets in iambic pentameter. This means that the poem ends in a rhyming couplet, while the other preceding lines of the poem follow another rhyme pattern, which in this case is what is known as the a b rhyme scheme. In the case of Shall I compare thee to a summer s day , the poet uses So long as men can breathe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Examples Of Suspense In The Sniper The story the sniper is a suspenseful short story written by Liam O Flaherty. The story is about a republican sniper that has the face of a scholar that is involved in the Irish civil war. The story the sniper uses suspenseful phrases such as hurriedly, immediately, suddenly, and slowly to describe the pace of the story. The thesis of The Sniper is that the story uses timing to create suspense. The story the sniper uses back to back action to create suspense. One example of this in the story the sniper is when an armoured car appeared along with an informant, which the sniper kills. Right after this the sniper gets shot by an enemy sniper across the road. This makes the story suspenseful because the events are happening rapidly which shows how often danger was evident. The sniper raised his rifle and fired. The head fell heavily on the turret wall. The woman darted toward the side street. The sniper fired again. The women whirled round and fell with a shriek into the gutter ( Liam O Flaherty 1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example is when the sniper kills his opponent, right after this event the story spends three paragraphs talking about his remorse and his curiosity of who the enemy sniper was. This is suspenseful because it stops the action of a long chain of events. Another example of the sniper using slow pace for suspense is right after the sniper gets shot. This is suspenseful because the story is running at a fast pace until he gets shot and hides behind the roof. Corruption due to power is shown in many instances in the book, Animal Farm. In the book, there is an opening for someone to take control of the power, and the animals that do are the pigs. The pigs gain the power for many reasons. When power is gained there are many things people can do with it, either bad or good. The pigs actions in animal farm show the different ways that power can be used by those in charge. Knowledge is the primary form of power that the pigs have and take advantage of. Towards the beginning of the book this is shown when the pigs create a society in which they are superior because of their intellect: but the pigs were so clever that they could think of a way round every difficulty. As for the horses, they knew every inch of the field, and in fact understood the business of mowing and raking far better than Jones and his men had ever done. The pigs did not actually work, but directed and supervised the others. With their superior knowledge it was natural that they should assume the leadership. (pg. 27) This shows that the power is distributed unevenly, and the pigs have much more because they are not working and think that they are above that. the pigs not working shows their selfish and deceptive side, and that they are trying to say they should not have to work because of their superior knowledge. The pigs gained ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Caillebotte Paris Street A Rainy Day There are numerous cliché statements regarding art, such as A picture is worth a thousand words or Beauty is in the eye of the beholder , certainly, this would apply when viewing two paintings depicting a rainy day in the late 19th Century. The first painting titled Paris Street; A Rainy Day (1877) is by Gustave Caillebotte and the second is by Childe Hassam titled A Rainy Day on Fifth Avenue (1893). By first glance, both paintings have some obvious similarities, most notable being people walking in the rain with horse drawn carriages in the background, but given the period the paintings may have very different interpretations by the viewer. Men wear top hats and long tailed coats while the women wear full length dresses, all symbolic of the late 19th century. The artist used deep colors, making the painting appear darker; perhaps to evoke the feeling of a rainy day or that it is sometime between late afternoon and early evening. It is interesting to note that a fashionably dressed Parisian couple (a man and a woman) in the foreground of the painting is walking toward the viewer. How are these poems different let alone similar? you may ask. Well in this essay I will compare and contrast the poems that will give you insight on how the characteristics of these two poems differentiate and, are comparable. For example tone, symbolism, and structure each play a big part in both poems. However in essay you will also know the role of these three characteristics, and how each one can makes the poems whole. I wander as a lonely cloud by William Wordsworth represents that loneliness can bring the bliss of solitude. In the poem Wordsworth start it off with the speaker wandering in valleys and high hills. The speaker compares himself as a cloud because a cloud represents loneliness and bemusement, and that represents the speaker s feelings. The speaker continues to wander until he sees daffodils by a lake dancing. As the speaker watches the daffodils he explains their dancing as carefree, gleeful and happy. I saw a crowd a host of daffodils; Beside a lake, beneath the trees, fluttering in the breeze. (Lines 4 6). The speaker gives the daffodils personality to show the daffodils have humanlike qualities which gives the flowers life. Along the margin of bay: Ten Thousand I saw at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. (Lines 10 12). After watching the dancing daffodils, the speaker then realizes that the flowers give him a gift, and that is the bliss of solitude. This gift of solitude helps the speaker out of his lonesome state and, whenever he feels lonely he remembers the bliss of solitude. And then my heart fills with pleasure, And the daffodils dance. • 12. Theme Of Friendship In Chaim Potok s The Chosen The theme of friendship courses through Chaim Potok s book, The Chosen. Potok desires to show the reader what a strong friendship looks like and how it stands up to the test of time. When two people know each other well and spend a lot of time together, there are bound to be misunderstandings, fights, and other trials. Yet God says in His word As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. (New American Standard Bible, Proverbs 27:17) Even when friendships are difficult, they can sharpen the people involved in the friendship, like in the case of Danny and Reuven. Danny and Reuven s friendship lasts through Danny s irrational behavior, Reuven s outbursts of anger, and Reb Saunders s absurd beliefs. Danny and Reuven s friendship begins because of, and continues in spite of, Danny s irrational thoughts. The reader sees Danny s irrational side in Danny and Reuven s first meeting and in Danny s refusal to try to see from the point of view of his psychology teacher. Danny Reuven first meet on a baseball field where Danny feels irrational hate towards Reuven. He tells Reuven later, I wanted to walk over to you and open your head with my bat (Potok, 65). Even though Danny begins their acquaintance with harmful thoughts toward Reuven, an unlikely friendship forms between them. When faced with a psychology professor who believes differently about psychology than he does, Danny does not try to see from the professor s side, instead, he irrationally only thinks about how miserable he feels learning from the professor s approach to psychology. (186). When Reuven approaches Danny and tries to reason with him, that he should try to like it, Danny blows up; however, Reuven remains ready to forgive as he does not want to lose their friendship. Through Danny s harmful thoughts and irrational feelings toward Reuven and others, Reuven and Danny s friendship stays strong. After Danny s original murderous intents towards Reuven, only Reuven s anger stands in the way of their friendship. Reuven has outbursts of anger towards Danny when he comes to visit Reuven in the hospital and towards Danny s father. Essay about Salome and Cupid The paintings Salome with the Head of St. John the Baptist, by Guido Reni and Cupid Chastised, by Bartolomeo Manfredi are both 17th century visual representations of a story. The story behind Salome is the interesting biblical story of the beheading of St. John the Baptist, as it s title suggests. The story goes that Salome performed a dance for the king and his guests. Herod Antipas saw Salome s dance and was so impressed, and drunk, that he promised to give her whatever she asked of him. Salome is the focal point of the piece, therefore receiving more light and wearing brighter colors than the other figures in the painting. By the age of 18 E. Unique Contribution to the Field of Music Zimerman s contribution to the music field was his ability to interpret Romantic music. F. Notes about Piano Techniques When Zimerman plays the piano you are able to see the arch he maintains while her plays. The arch is located between his thumb and second finger. While Krystian plays the piano he angles his body away from the piano. I feel that this affects his sound when he plays the piano. Another thing I noticed while watching Krystian playing Chopin Ballade was that he swayed his body repeatedly. As he played he lifted his hand a great distance from the keys. He has his own techniques that he uses. These techniques seem to be the keys, which give off that soft sound that Zimerman seems to produce as he plays. I m not trying to criticize Zimerman at all but half the time he seems to focus on displaying a despicable amount of facial expressions. And seems a bit disconnected with the piece he is ... • 23. Role Play Analysis At one point in time, I hated role plays. You never know what to expect from one second to the next. Feelings of anxiety and some nervousness always sprout up when I know there is a role play to perform. Furthermore, the thought of acting, knowing it was not a real scenario is daunting. Everybody would be staring at you, and this makes me slightly uncomfortable. Many thoughts raced through my mind. For example, What if I said the wrong thing, what if I did the wrong thing; or what if my acting skills were not up to par. Role playing made no sense to me because, in real life situations, I knew it would be different. I would be able to respond accordingly, and not feel judged by all of the eyes that were focused on me. As a result, my client in real life would benefit from our therapeutic sessions. It is funny though, because once the role play in the class started, feelings of calmness surrounded me. In addition, my game face was on, I was cool and collected. In part this can be attributed to the calm atmosphere my classmates created, and also, the fact the professor met me where I was at. He portrayed an elderly individual who was experiencing symptoms of depression. This was right up my alley as I have many years working with the elderly population. ... This was the highest voter turnout Canada had seen at a federal election in two decades. Out of 35,85 million people in Canada, 3,6 million people casted their ballots. However, with the overall increase of people that showed up to this election, the number of young people, especially those aged 18 24 that attended, was at an all time low. This has created a great deal of concern for when these people get to be older and more younger people will be eligible to vote, if there will be anybody in Canada who are still voting with interest and not just abstaining to. It s important that the most amount of people in Canada vote as possible so that our government is solely represented by people who Canadians agree with their political statements and beliefs. There s no point in the country being run by people and parties who Canadians don t agree with because their main job as representants of the country is to voice the beliefs and concerns of those Canadians. It s important for Canadians to be encouraged to vote young because it is the first years of being legal age to vote that are uninterested in doing so. Though the twelve hour trip down there seemed very long and boring, the trip was ultimately worth it. There are a lot of interesting things to do in Panama City Beach, Florida. The first thing that we did when we finally got there, was to check into the hotel and take our stuff to the room, which was on the first floor facing the beach. It had three rooms. One had the kitchenette, a couch, and a bed with a TV mounted on the wall across from it. The second room had two beds and a TV mounted on the opposite wall. In between the two rooms was the bathroom. After we finished looking around the rooms, we went out to the white sand beach through the sliding glass doors in the first room to watch the sunset. The colors of the sunset against the light green water were amazing. The reds, oranges, and yellows seemed more vibrant next to the color of that water. It made me wonder why people don t just stay on the beach for the rest of their lives. I knew that I would have happily stayed there forever just to see sunsets like that every night for the rest of my life. We stayed on the beach until the sun was completely gone and the sky was dark. After the beach was completely dark and quiet, we headed back to the hotel. The hotel had many things to do inside. The first thing we did when we got back inside was go to the front desk to see all the activities that they had at our hotel. We decided that we wanted to do the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Were you curious about how they about how they were able to make the ball react down the lane? If yes, you are one of many. Today I will explain how to manipulate your ball so that it reacts. To somebody who is unfamiliar with the specifics of the sport, it can be difficult to comprehend all the parts of this seemingly simple idea of rolling a ball. These parts can be broken down into three steps. These steps are, the set up, the approach, and the release. Those of you who have been to a bowling alley might have noticed that the flooring strips on the approach and lanes are very narrow and inefficient, however this is by design and meant to assist the bowler. The only variations from the four to five step approach is that your first step is with your non dominant leg and the ball does not begin to move until your dominant leg moves. So the ball remains still for the first step. Nucleophilic Preparation Of 1-Bromobutane Lab Report Nucleophilic Addition of Bromine Discussion: The goal of this lab is to create 1 bromobutane through the nucleophilic addition of bromine to 1 butanol. Sulfuric acid is used on this lab to help protonate the alcohol, thereby transforming it into water thus making a better leaving group. The bromide ion can then attack and allow for the formation of 1 bromobutane. The reaction starts through a reflux. A reflux allows for a mixture or compound to be continuously heated and condensed, so that no product is lost to evaporation, while still providing enough activation energy for the reaction to occur. The apparatus is simply a round bottom flask attached to a condenser with a continuous flow of water in and out. In this experiment the reaction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the use of different artistic techniques, these two artists are able to capture similar settings in very different ways with very different meanings. Around the age of six years old, Hokusai began painting and even spent time as an apprentice wood carver in his youth. He began the art of print making when he was eighteen. His most famous painting, The Great Wave, can be seen in museums all over the world even though Japan delayed it from catching on worldwide. Many believe that it was painted in the early 1800s, but Japan was not interacting culturally with other countries apart from trade with China and Korea. It wasn t until 1859 when the Japanese were forced to open their ports that prints of The Wave spread across Europe. Originally, this piece wasn t viewed as real art by Japanese politicians and art historians. Wood block printing was used for commercial use and as a popular form of expression. The Japanese government wasn t too thrilled that such a seemingly lowbrow art form had come to define them (15 Things). • 31. Digital Gap In Australia Essay Participation and Digital Divide Laptops, smartphones, smartwatches and the Internet are all good examples that show how much human life has been relying on digital technologies in the past two decades. Nevertheless, digital divide, the phenomenon that not all people have access to digital technologies, still prevails in Australia. The recent Australia Digital Inclusion Index (ADII) report states that the increase in Internet coverage in the country has been little in the last three years, especially in South Australia and Tasmania, and the lower income group uses the Internet significantly less than the richer (Thomas, 2017). This certainly has much to do with the affordability of hardware and Internet services for people with low socioeconomic status, but such a divergence may also be explained by the absence of infrastructure, such as the broadband network service, in the remote regions (Park et al., 2015, p.3633). ... Although the clinical experience as a nursing student gave her basic knowledge and understanding about the importance of the nursing profession in a health care setting, the fast paced environment required her to have more application of her cultural awareness. In her current practice, she worked with Patient Z, a 33 year old male who is an immigrant from Southeast Asia, who needed a transfusion of packed red blood cells (PRBC) for his preexisting anemia. The patient avoided eye contact all throughout the assessment and denied any pain or discomfort. The patient eventually denied the treatment due to his religion and beliefs. He later disclosed that he is a practicing Jehovah s Witness. The nurse respected the client s decision of the patient to decline the treatment and collected all of the information she could find about the patient s culture as a Southeast Asian and a Jehovah s Witness. While doing so, she coordinated with the physician in taking another treatment course for this patient. The patient agreed to receive Erythropoietin treatment as a substitute for the initial care plan and was carefully monitored which resulted to favorable outcome validated by the patient s lab works. Although it is possible for deaf children to attend public schools and succeed, research suggests that it is best for them to have their own environment, says Meagan McDonough. It is already hard enough for a hearing student to find his/her place in the classroom, but when you add being deaf to the list, a major challenge presents itself. This deaf student must work extra hard to keep up and be able to read the lips of his/her teachers and fellow peers, and learn to communicate. Even though accommodations are made and sometimes interpreters are given, it is hard for the student to feel welcome. If this student were to attend a deaf school, he/she would not have to work so hard and would find it much easier to communicate and socialize both of which are major focuses in a high school student s life. In Meagan McDonough s article Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children in Public Schools , she states that public schools might not be best for deaf students, but if they start out in a deaf school and eventually integrate into a hearing school, they will be better off and be able to keep up. I agree with her in that it is good for a child to at least start his/her education in a deaf school so that the base of their foundation is laid by something they can understand. If later they feel comfortable trying out a public school, they may do so and will find it easier to be and feel included. The Heildberg project was created using artifacts that contributed to the history and value of the city of Detroit.
