Drug Testing Ethics
Running head: THE ETHICS OF DRUG TESTING 1 THE ETHICS OF DRUG TESTING 4
The Ethics of Drug Testing
Hieu Le
Columbia Southern University
The Ethics of Drug Testing Drug testing is the most useful method that employers conduct on their
hiring process to examine the overall health results of their potential employees. Blood draws and
urine testing are the primary health examinations that employers use to conclude whether any
potential candidate has been abusing drugs. Hence, employers may deny their job offer to candidates,
who were found that engaged on positive drug testing. However, ... Show more content on

The method supports employers comply with the federal law, and prevent further disputes. Although
there are protests against drug testing due to personal privacy, the testing method is appreciated by
several politicians and law agencies. While drug testing may reveal personal privacy, the benefit
behind this method is that employer ensure their employees are not engaging with illegal drugs, the
safety of employees, and legal issues in the future.
According to Kitterlin, Moll, and Moreno (2015) Coca Cola conducts drug test on their potential
candidates to examine such drug abuse to fulfill with the federal law and protect their image
accordingly. Violation of this law code that may cause the firm face a massive fine by the government
(Kitterlin et. al, 2015). Furthermore, Coca Cola want to assure the fairness to their employees by

What Has Changed The Role Of Education In The 1920 s
Between 1870 to 1988, there has been a significant change in education which has affected the type of
education we have today. The main change in education has been the curriculum and the access to
education. Society and education have been developed immensely that has allowed women and
working class children to have access to education.
Since 1870, the education curriculum has seen many changes of development that has had a positive
outcome on education. Three main identified changes are the shift of emphasis from the person to the
child then the teacher s role changes from training to help development and growth. Finally creating a
better environment for mental and physical growth. Schools were run under the churches, so the

with other foundation subjects. The National curriculum will allow us to compare school s results.

The Importance Of Fatigue Condition
Rice et al. [121] first reported that the size of plastic zone under creep stress was 4 times that of under
fatigue conditions using theoretical calculation. Subsequently, Irwin at al. [122] established equations
for estimating the plastic zone size under creep and fatigue, and Equations (1) and (2) show that the
size of plastic zone will reduce with increasing yield strength of AA alloy.
3. Discussion
It is generally assumed that the crack growth rate of coarse grain is lower than that of fine grain, and
the fatigue crack growth resistance can be improved by increasing the grain size [79]. Reasons can be
mainly concluded by the following three aspects [80,81], i.e., first, grain boundary is weakened under
high temperature, and cracks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lots of experimental results indicate that the grain size can significantly affect the fatigue crack
growth rate of AA alloy.
However, the experimental results in this study indicate that with decreasing grain size the fatigue
crack growth rate of AA alloy becomes smaller and smaller. Therefore, the fatigue crack growth
resistance increases with decreasing grain size. This is opposite to the prevailing effect of grain size on
fatigue crack growth rate. The main reasons are concluded as follows:
(1) Previous experimental results indicate that the amount of η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase can significantly
affect the DFCGR property of AA alloy. The η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase mainly plays a role of pinning
grain boundary and retarding the intergranular diffusion of oxygen. Thus, the crack growth at grain
boundaries can be retarded, and the notch sensitivity of the alloy can be avoided. Therefore, more the
η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase, the fatigue crack growth rate of the alloy can be reduced favourably. Figure 1
shows that the amount and morphology of η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase precipitated from AA alloy with
different grain sizes are different under the same thermal treatments. With decreasing grain size, both
the grain boundary area of the alloy and the amount of η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase increase, and the
ability of grain boundary pinning and grain boundary oxygen diffusion retarding are significantly
enhanced, thus the fatigue crack growth rate will reduce

Essay about Shi ite Sunni Conflict
Iraq and Iran have been subjected to a civil war since the seventh century (Murphy 1). This existing
problem began because of political and theological divergence, but with the help of outside forces
such as Britain, Russia, and North America, it developed into a more complex crisis. Many non
Muslims believe the cause of the Shi ite and Sunni violence originated from their religious
differences. However the differences in tradition, education, law, and religious practices are a small
factor in this escalating problem. The core of their faith is practically identical. Both factions believe
that Muhammad, their prophet, was the messenger of Allah. They also believe that all Muslims must
abide by Muhammad s teachings as outlined in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ali shared the same blood as Muhammad. In their opinion, this made Ali holy. Shi ites saw caliphs
more as spiritual and temporal leaders rather than rulers. Each side had its rational notions, but since
more people followed Bakr, he was appointed the next caliph. Shi ite remained under his guidance,
but felt it was an abomination. Two more leaders, Umar and Utham, followed, each appointed by
Sunnis. The Shi ite then began to act on their beliefs and some of Ali s dedicated followers murdered
Utham, bringing his reign to an abrupt end. In 656 A.D. Ali became the successor ( Sunni Shi a 2).
Many Muslims knew the cause of Utham s death and were angry at Ali, for he had not brought Utham
s killers to justice, one of whom was Mu awiya, who had been the governor of Damascus and cousin
of Utham. When Ali was assassinated in 661 A.D., Mu awiya felt great pleasure in his death and found
his revenge in stealing Ali s old position; there was, yet again, another Sunni leader. Mu awiya lead
the Sunni Muslims through a prosperous time, the Umayyad dynasty. This period of growth played a
huge role in the power, control, and population of the Sunni Muslims while the Shi ttes remained
uninvolved. In the year 661 A.D. many converted to the Sunni ways, for they were very successful.
During the Umayyad dynasty, the Shi ite continued to follow Ali s son, Hussain, also known as

Quotes For The Maze Runner
He died saving you. He made the choice himself. Just don t ever waste it. One of the last quotes from
James Dashner s novel, The Maze Runner. This science fiction novel is written as a form of dystopian
literature. This novel is the first of The Maze Runner Series, which consists of two additional novels,
The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure. Some of the main characters include, Teresa, Chuck, Minho,
Alby, and Newt, who all guide Thomas, the protagonist, in their quest to escape the Glade. The Glade,
a meadow the size of several football fields surrounded by vast walls that form an immense maze, is
the main setting of this story based on a post apocalyptic future. James Dashner s novel, The Maze

While embarking in this journey, a question must be present at all times, that is, who put these people
here? Little is known of the Creators and their goals, but from what they are doing, people can assume

is simply a test or a trial, to find the strongest who can survive the greatest feats. The most successful
experiment will work as the model to create a cure necessary for the survival of the world. In other

order to get their results. In my opinion, no matter how good someone s intentions are, lives lost in

Sports Marketing By Sam Fullerton Essay
In this short assignment is will be identifying sponsorship for each of the six categories noted in ch 4,
Sports Marketing by Sam Fullerton (Sports, Entertainments, Causes, Art, Festival, and Association). I
will also Identify one of the five primary objectives of sponsorship for each category (drive sales,
improve image, create greater awareness, provide hospitality opportunities, enhance employee
morale). I will evaluate whether, these sponsors and sponsees are a good fit .And will they be
successful for the sponsor. For sports is will be looking at the NBA as the sponsee and its new food
and beverage sponsor Pepsi Co. According to an article in Fortune Magazine titled PepsiCo nabs NBA
sponsorship rights from Coca Cola by Beth Kowitt. She states, the terms or the duration are not being
disclosed, but the deal is worth significantly more than the previous deal with Coca Cola. The new
agreement also covers the WNBA, NBA Development League, and USA Basketball. Tingyi, PepsiCo
s partner in China, will be the exclusive partner of the NBA in China through its Master Kong brand
(Kowitt, B., 2015). This is a good fit. It will give exposure to PepsiCo s other brand. The NBA deal for
PepsiCo is not the usual; Mountain Dew, rather than Pepsi soda will take the headliner. PepsiCo s
Aquafina, Brisk, Doritos, and Ruffles brands will be featured in this new deal (Kowitt, B., 2015). The
primary goal of sponsorship PepsiCo is intending to accomplish is creating greater awareness.

The Apache helicopter has been the premier attack helicopter of the United States Army for the past
thirty years. The Apache firmly secured that position in the opening moments of Operation Desert
Storm by proving that it was capable of accomplishing missions well beyond its intended purpose.
Due to its success in Desert Storm and subsequent conflicts, it is now the attack helicopter of choice
for the United States Army and its Allies around the world. Its success has led to multiple subsequent
models that built on the airframe and success of the original AH 64A models. In January 1990, after

MARKET ANALYSIS
Prime objective of producing this show successfully is to stay fully aware of the marketing trends and
the regular information about the industry and its history. It is pivotal to understand and analyze the
industrial impact in the particular industry as the show is related to entertainment industry. Around 20
different game shows were analyzed to determine the fate of ours, as the above mentioned game
shows were similar in sketch. Two of popular programs were SPRITE FUNDA and LIVING ON THE
EDGE, these shows have successfully targeted the youth but they somewhat failed to capitalize the
market in the growth terms. We believe that our execution would go as planned and we can
successfully fill the vacuum in the industry.
TARGET MARKET:
QUICKWITT will be targeting the youth industry by focusing on colleges and universities in the
initial time periods. The age would fall between 16 and 28 years old. In our initial stage we would be
targeting the youth from Lahore, the data collected by our team suggests that we would have to shuffle
between 28,000 individuals. However, we would be setting up arrangements for 3 to 400 students as
audience from the participating institution. The target market of Lahore is flexible and elastic, as it
comprises the majority of youth population of the country.

Essay On French Withdrawal From Indochina
Writer Virginia Thompson quoted, If France had not been victorious in the (First) World War it is no
exaggeration to say that she would never have been able to keep Indo China. It is also no exaggeration
to say that France s disastrous defeats in the early part of World War II were to be a major factor in
France s ultimate loss of its Indochinese colonies of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Various reasons
account for the withdrawal of the French from Indochina (Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia) by 1954.
Since the start of the French Colonization of Indochina around 1893, tension was present in both
parties which was only deepened by the series of occurrences and notions that followed. The result of
WWII caused France to be significantly weakened, specifically the economy and the country as a
whole. This led to the abandonment of the French from the Southeast Asian countries, for it eventually

Ho Chi Minh (Prime Minister and Revolutionary leader of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam) and
the communist group he established, the Viet Minh , were very instrumental regarding the process of
the withdrawal of the foreign armies from Indochina. The large amount of the population that took
part in the Viet Minh did not advocate for the French colonization of Indochina and underwent various
obstacles and took actions to ensure France s abandonment of the colonies. The first Indochina war
was a key turning point of French colonization of Indochina. The newly modern military tactics like
Guerrilla warfare destabilized the French s army and flipped the odds for the Indochinese civilians and
nationalists. Particularly, the battle of Dien Bien Phu (March 13, 1954 May 7, 1954) and the downfall

Vaccinations In The Central African Republic
Vaccinations are an incredible innovation, and without them, our world would be quite different.
These lifesaving inventions have always been quite controversial, and without knowing what they are
fully capable of, some people and governments won t take any further actions to get vaccinations to
people who are in need. For example, in India, the government is very detached from the issue, and
hasn t invested in the heavily needed vaccines for its people. Especially the children, as one third of
the children unvaccinated in the entire world reside in India. Also, Recent events in countries have
drastically impacted how many people receive vaccines. As in the Central African Republic, the
country has been in a fuming ongoing civil war that has killed over 6,000 people from its upbringing
in 2012. People in the Central African Republic have been displaced, and are in desperate need other
things, such as food or water. The longer a person goes without a vaccine, the higher the chance is of
contracting a disease or virus. In Nigeria alone, the national data showed less than 30% coverage for
all antigens, and this decreased to 12.9% [in] 2003 (NCBI). Vaccines are a significant problem today
because people are very uneducated about them.

Intentional Teaching Of Historical Inquiry Learning
Children acquire more understanding through personal experience, and as Vince Gowmon once said:
you cannot make people learn, you can only provide the right conditions for learning to happen.
(Basic skills assessment and educational services, 2018). The notion of an educator scaffolded
environment for quality application over quantity of knowledge dispensed is an important aspect of
the inquiry approach to learning. Inquiry learning ensures that students receive a quality education
through carefully scaffolded lessons using investigation and exploration as students pose and answer
questions to build and cement personal understandings. This essay will define inquiry learning, and
how the implementation of this particular teaching approach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Intentional teaching of historical inquiry explores the changes that happen over time while observing
specific family related examples. Curriculum outcome (ACHASSI018) looks at students posing
questions about past and present objects, people, places and events. An example, of incorporating this
history learning area of the Australian curriculum into a lesson plan can arise from celebrating cultural
diversity through national events such as harmony day. Students may attend schooling on harmony
day dressed in cultural dress, bring along parents and members of older generations, or display
everyday objects relating to their culture or belonging to previous family generations. Collaborating
with students families to introduce historical provocation through the sharing of events like harmony
day will foster a young child s social development and enhance their social and cultural knowledge
and awareness (Mindes, 2015). Educators would then use the cultural experiences students and family
members have shared to spark curiosity and imagination for educators and students to pose questions
with the stems of where, what, how, and why that really encourage and deliver open ended responses,
instead of yes and no answers and the memorising of facts. Examples of questions relevant to
historical inquiry include are we more the same or different than others, and why?, can someone
belong to more than one culture?, how do people live in other places?, how are these places different?,
and does technology change our lives for the better ? (Murdoch, 2014). When utilising questions to
spark curiosity and imagination as well as extend and test a student s content knowledge the Stanford
history education group cautions educators must be aware to choose and foster questions that elicit
historical exploration and debate opposes to generating moral judgements, which is informed more by

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Contraceptives
There are many different contraceptives available to today s youth.
The first and major one would be the Birth control pills. There are two types of these pills, the first
being the Combined Oral Contraceptive Pills which contain two hormones, an oestrogen and progestin
and the second being the Progestin only pills which contains one hormone being progestin. The
Combined Oral Contraceptive pill works by stopping ovulation (release of an egg) and by inhibiting
the movement of sperm. Among common couples who start utilization of combined pills around eight
percent of women encounter an incidental pregnancy within the first year. Whereas if the pills are used

They also reduce PMS symptoms, menstrual blood loss, anaemia and they stop endometriosis. The
disadvantages of the combined pill is that they do not protect against the contraction of HIV/AIDS or
other STIs; a women must remember to take the pill at the same time; every day, some women
experience headaches, depression or decreased enjoyment of intercourse. The Progestin only pills
work by making cervical mucus thicker so that the sperm cannot get to the egg and the also make the
lining of the uterus thinner, sometimes they even stop ovulation. The effectiveness against pregnancy
and the contraction of HIV/AIDS is the same as combined contraceptive pills. Some of the advantages
of choosing progestin only pills are that the amount of progestin in these pills in less than in combined
pills; these pills cause light menstrual flow and less anaemia and they also reduce menstrual cramps,
pain, headaches, mood swings and breast tenderness. The disadvantages of choosing progestin only
pills is that they cause your menstrual cycle to be irregular; like the combined pills, they do not protect
against HIV/AIDS or other STIs and a condom is recommended to be used at the same time.

Act 1 Rita Essay
The transformed character of Rita in Act 2 Scene 1 is unrecognisable from the comedic character
presented to us in Act 1 Scene 1 . To what extent do you agree with this statement. Refer closely to
Russell s use of Comedic anf Dramatic Devices. (You must reference to all AOs).
Although Rita acknowledges that being smart is important, she shows that her change in the play is
not just learning, but through her personality too. Her education helps her overcome her working class
background and for her not to follow the rold of a traditonal woman in the 1970 s. Education
completely changes Rita and effects her life enormously.
One of the greatest changes we see in Rita is the language she uses as the play progresses. In Act 1

she uses contrasts greatly with the acendemic and privilidged surroundings she is currently within. In
this Act, her language also contrasts with Frank s. Frank is presented as a well educated, middle class
university professor who s language is much more refined. An example of this is when Rita tells Frank
she s Off his cake , even Frank, a very experienced university tutor does not understand this figure of

going to need. Rita s language also consists of lots of swearing due to her feeling nervous and because
she lacks confidence which allows the audience to empathise with her as she hasn t recieved the
education in which Frank once had. Her taboo language is consistant through the first scene, such as
when she sees the painting in Franks room and says Look at those tits , the first time she meets her

Society Reflection Paper
Now that the different facets of the multiverse theory have been explained, what about society s
reaction? My hypothesis is that society will freak out and eventually progress into a nihilistic and
existential society. Inevitably, there will also be individuals who react differently. I believe society s
reaction will mirror that of what happened when Charles Darwin proposed his theory of evolution.
Because society went haywire when their view of the world was changed, no doubt society will react
in a similar way because their view of the entire universe itself would change. A majority of the
population sees our universe as a singular entity that exists on its own. Outside of our universe, there
is nothing, since everything we know of is contained within the universe. But the multiverse theory
claims that other universes exist outside of our own. Those universes contain other versions of
ourselves in different contexts, different jobs, different socioeconomic levels, and with different
passions. Right after Charles Darwin s theory of evolution was published, it was read and reviewed by
people of different religions, interests, and professions. Many of its first readers were appalled. John
Leifchild writes in the Athenaeum, Man, in [Darwin s] view, was born yesterday he will perish
tomorrow. In place of being immortal, we are only temporary, and, as it were, incidental (Leifchild).
He did not agree with the fact that humanity at the time could change, or has ever changed.

Bourdieu Cultural Capital Essay
Citizenship confers on an individual an ability to participate in democracy such as decision making
and inclusion in policy making processes, (Michels, 2011). Citizenship gives one participatory power;
in the decision making process of their country of origin, in the same way citizenship can be a form of
capital to an individual. Citizenship constitutes a strategically constructed form of capital which
manifests in formal (legal and institutional) and informal (practiced and cultural) forms (Bauder H.,
2008:315). People who possess a certain form of capital are able to distinguish themselves from others
who lack that form of capital (Bauder, 2008:318). Such distinctions can increase gaps in social class
orders and increase feelings of relative deprivation between migrant families and non migrant families

Why all of the sudden? In regard to that question, my paper will include a history of events leading up
to this sudden crack down on drug trafficking, from its start in the 1960 s until today. After the history
of the drug war, I will discuss the main states involved like the United States and Mexico itself. Along

In February 2011 the United States began sending unarmed drones to collect information on drug

increased security on our side and spends approximately $3 billion on securing the border.
Decriminalization is a highly disputed policy option, in November of 2012 two states in the United
States passed laws for the legalization of recreational use of marijuana. However, it is still a United
States federal law that marijuana is illegal. Although decriminalization would lead to less
incarcerations, it would put more drugs in the hands of users and increase drug exporting from
Mexico. A prime strategy that both the United States and Mexico have been using is to take out the
high value individuals or foot soldiers . This takes out the mass exporters but still leaves the middle
and lower class drug traffickers. Which then the middle class moves up and takes over for whatever

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background
Scheduling is an important tool in manufacturing and engineering, where it can have a major impact
on the productivity of a process (Min et al., 2009). In real production floor, scheduling is a
continuously reactive process which face suddenly or unexpected any new events. In manufacturing,
the production mostly relate to the processing time, costs and quality. Scheduling plays important role
in raising the efficiency of any production system.
Nowadays, many approaches have been developed to resolve the real time events problem.

Shear Wave Elastography Analysis
Shear wave elastography technique
Shear wave elastography{SWE} is a novel technique for obtaining elastograms of soft tissue by
tracking the transverse shear waves that spread laterally away from amechanical disturbance of the
tissue. They have special properties that differ from both the longitudinal waves of conventional
ultrasound imaging (which relies on the bulk modulus of elasticity) and from conventional
compression elastography. They travel at few metres per second, depending on the visco elastic
properties of the tissue, and are rapidly attenuated, so that for practically achievable disturbances they
have dissipated after travelling for afew centimeters(101).
SWE is based on the principle of acoustic radiation force. With use of light ... Show more content on

the information on the propagating shear wave including the velocity of the shear wave could be
measured by obtaining radiofrequency images with a high frame rate , which can be used to generate a
tissue displacement map. then ,the elastic property for quantitative estimation is calculated by the
propagating velocity of shear wave .ARFI, acoustic radiation force impulse, Woo Kyoung Jeong 2014)
(104).
The recommended technique for SWE was to image the lesion with no pressure induced by the
transducer. After a few seconds of immobilization to allow the SWE image to stabilize, the SWE
image was frozen and saved(104).
The size and location of the ROI was standardized as follows: The anterior posterior margin of the
ROI was manipulated to include the area from the subcutaneous fat layer to the pectoral muscle layer,
and the lateral margin was adjusted to include at least 5 mm of breast tissue adjacent to the lesions,
because the maximum areas of stiffness in malignant lesions were always found in the peritumoral
region rather than in the lesion itself

Essay On Saving Private Ryan
Saving Private Ryan Historical Accuracy In World War Two a brave group of United States, Canadian,
and English troops made a last push against Germany who had invaded France. Many soldiers from
the United States died fighting for their country among soldiers from other countries. The U.S.
suffered almost 2000 casualties at Omaha Beach. The movie Saving Private Ryan includes scenes
from Omaha Beach among other places. The movie Saving Private Ryan has many historical
accuracies and is also historically inaccurate at times. In the first few scenes of the moving they are
storming Omaha Beach. They are getting off ships and running up the beach to take out the bunkers.
This storm of Omaha Beach actually took place on June sixth 1944. ... Show more content on

Kids in the Hitler Youth would be given a knife at age 15, (Wikipedia). These knifes would have a
swastika engraved on them. In another scene, there was a building that was solely for writing
telegrams to families. What these telegrams were for was when a soldier died the family would
receive a letter saying that a family member has died. These telegrams were typed on typewriters and
were written by mostly women. These were also written by soldiers who had injuries bad enough not
to return to the war. These injuries may include, the loss of limbs, bullet wounds, and broken legs.
This is historically accurate because this is where all the telegrams were made. These telegrams were
made to inform families of their losses. These jobs were also what helped women get outside jobs.
This is because in this time period women have to do so called house work . Therefore, while all the
men are at war they need the smaller jobs to get done, for example telegram writing. In yet another
scene, the American and British forces set up their own makeshift base after taking over the Nazi
bunkers. The American s executed all of the Nazis that were within the camp and called it their own,
setting up base. The American soldiers even killed the ones that they weren t sure were German. This
included civilians and people from other countries. This is historically accurate for many reasons. The

Hate Crime Essay
The term hate crime developed in the early 1980s by reporters and government officials such as John
Conyers and Mario Biaggi. Even though the interest of hate crimes has increased in recent
developments, it has deep historic roots that dates back into time. Statistics of U.S. history has shown
that assaults, murders, and acts of vandalism has stemmed from hatred. The first hate crime victims
were Native Americans and since then almost all U.S. immigrants have been exposed to violence,
discrimination, and harassment.
There are many various definitions of the key word hate crimes, but in general terms hate crimes is a
carefully thought about illegal act against a person, property, or an organization that is roused by the
guilty party s bias ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This legislation can empower the federal government to more effectively protect Americans from bias
crimes and to step in when local law enforcement agencies either cannot or will not act to stop hate
(Roleff 105). However, for those who believe that hate crimes are not as significant as some may
think, they have been shooting down the idea that hate crime laws should form in the U.S.
government. Some consider that this matter is an overstated issue a result that the public is touchy to
discrimination or prejudice. Other arguments against legislation of hate crime laws include that they
don t encourage people to stop participating in this type of criminal act and in fact encourage
additional discrimination and marginalization. A federal hate crime law can be used to protect only
certain groups and punish only certain crimes as hate crimes (Roleff 113). There was a case in the
1990s where one black man who attacked a white man got a less severe prison sentence over a black
man who beat another black man. Situations such as this one can make it seem like some kinds of hate
are more unlawful than others.
There is little research that examines how prejudice turns into violent action. However, research has
examined a characteristic profile that describes common perpetrators and types of hate crime
offenders. Contrary to the common way of thinking, most hate crimes aren t devoted by people who
belong to hate

Marxist Alienation In Nazi Germany
A defeated nation sending 12 year old children into the front lines, undying fanatical patriotism the
story of the Third Reich s struggle for survival and fight to the death seems to defy logic. The
application of the Marxist principle of the alienation of a worker from fellow workers is critical to
understanding how the Nazi Party retained its almost paradoxical hold on the populace through
paranoia and fear and how years of scapegoating fed a parasitic internal distrust embedded deep
within Nazi Germany.
To adopt the economic perspective required for viewing 1940s Nazi Germany through the lens of
Marxist alienation, the Nazi regime must be abstractified and analyzed as a business, and its subjects
as laborers. The Nazi regime, like a business, has only one purpose: obtaining value. For the Nazi
regime, that value is power for the Fuhrer. For a Nazi regime fighting a losing war, that value is also
whatever helps the regime in the war effort: reporting traitors, promoting loyalty to the Fuhrer,
willingly surrendering everything for the war, and most importantly, keeping Hitler in power. A
citizen, soldier, Jew, any citizen of Germany serves only one purpose to the Nazi regime: generating
value. In return, Germans are rewarded favor with the Nazi party: for some that means additional
power, for others, living another day.
Just as laborers compete for wages, Germans compete for that favor, be it Nazi generals competing for
Hitler s favor or a citizen betraying his Jewish

Odyssey In The Odyssey By Homer And Homer s The Odyssey
All odysseys tell the story of a great adventure; in fact the word odyssey literally defines as a heroic
adventure filled with notable events and hardships. Likewise in the epic poem The Odyssey by Homer,
Odysseus is not permitted to arrive home until he overcomes his biggest challenge, fixing his prideful
attitude. The purpose of the passage found in Book V lines 65 102, is to reinforce Odysseus image as
an epic hero and his loyalty to his family and homeland, in spite of challenges that arise that attempt to
deter him from returning home. The structure and language utilised by Homer builds up the meaning
of the passage; creating a contrast from the lush and enchanting feel of the goddess Calypso s estate,
to the grief of Odysseus being away from his homeland Ithaca and his family, including his loyal wife
Penelope. Homer inserted an array of symbolic descriptions to create the warm and luxurious mood of
Calypso s abode. At the outset of the passage Homer describes a great fire (65) blazing on the hearth.
Fire is applied by many to create a sense of warmth and comfort, and correspondingly here to depict
the welcoming nature of Calypso s place. Then as Calypso enters the passage, she smoothly glides
across the room, her golden shuttle weaving (71) in hand. Homer noted that the shuttle that Calypso
was holding was made of gold. Gold gives the reader a sense of the wealth and luxury of the goddess s
home. Again we get to sense the luxury when we read how the surrounding

Various References of the Congo Essay
The Congo refers to several different areas of Africa, all in the same general area but in different

with this is that scientists have not studied large portions of the Congo, leaving many other inhabitants

Symbolism In The Swimmer
The Swimmer, An Alcoholic Journey
The Swimmer, written by John Cheever follows the journey of the main character, Neddy Merrill and
his struggles with alcoholism. Living in a wealthy community; full of golf courses, tennis courts and
lots of parties, an envious lifestyle, but in the end Neddy s journey doesn t seem so desirous. Cheever
uses symbolism to describe the phases of Neddy s life and reflects on how a life of alcoholism is a
constant sink or swim battle. Neddy discovers the power of alcohol has destroyed his life, stripped
him of his social status, and in the end leaves him alone, all while still craving alcohol.
In the beginning, Neddy is sitting poolside with his wife Lucinda and friends; Helen and Donald
Westerhazy. The scene was described as, ...one of those midsummer Sundays when everyone sits
around saying, I drank too much last night. You might have heard it whispered by the parishioners
leaving church, heard it from the lips of the priest himself... (77). To clarify, this was an attempt to

Dr Pepper Snapple Inc: Energy Drinks

Wesley Gordon
Introduction
In the ever changing world of customer needs and expectations Dr Pepper Snapple was faced with an
increased customer focus on energy drinks. This area, when exploited correctly, is a high growth and
high margin beverage business. In early September 2007, Andrew Baker had his marching orders. He
emerged out a long discussion about entering the energy drink business and off he went.
First let s understand that an energy drink simply does as its title suggest, gives the consumer energy.
This is accomplished most of the time with caffeine from a guarana bean. Some of the other players in
this market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could be company strengths, current market penistrationpenetration, supplier agreements and
simply all of the business and/or customer loyalties that they have had. Also in today s market the
consumers are looking for the next new thing . They no longer want an extension of what they already
have. The consumers are loyal to a company, but can quickly change focus if a company fails to
continue to change to meet their needs and/or demands for change.
3. Do nothing
Dr Pepper could always do nothing at this time. During the stand down they could evaluate mergers,
joint ventures, or buyouts as they market strengthens.
Making a decision Given the track record of Dr Pepper Snapple and looking at the SWOT analysis I
feel that Dr Pepper should introduce an entire new product line. They can leverage their ability to
manage a diverse brand business, the leverage they have in the RTD segment, and the strengths that
the business as a whole has.
Implement the choice FDr Pepper has a great opportunity to penetrate the energy drink market. They
could quickly take a major market share and continue to support the ever changing customer needs
and ever changing expectations. The only remaining concept is how to do it.
1. Target Market Selection Who is to be serviced needs to be determined. Target heavy users, all users,
or even what age and gender to focus on.
2. Product Line and Positioning Choice The product line itself has to be determined. Is it

Lyndon Baines Overcome Rhetorical Analysis
The Civil Rights Movement of 1954 1968 is a time of struggle and efforts for African American
equality and can be categorized as a peaceful movement of restless seekers of justice. But after the
Selma to Montgomery March in Alabama in 1965, where many ended injured and one ended up
killed, President Lyndon B. Johnson saw this as his executive duty to show the nation that this was an
American problem that we all needed to fix. On March 15, 1965, a week after Selma, Johnson gave
We Shall Overcome, a speech whose purpose was to motivate civil rights to African Americans and
make it into a civil cause, as well as gain support for a bill that rightly legally aids to this solution of
discrimination. By using literary devices, diction, sentence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This, in turn, aids his purpose as it brings reflection on familiar terms and people. In addition, he uses
diacope in Lines 22 ( There is no Negro problem. There is no Southern problem. There is no Northern
problem. ) where there is no ... problem is repeated. This only emphasizes his next line, which reads
There is only an American problem , which shows that there is no placing blame for the wrongdoings
of this nation. With this, he means to emphasize that we have all been a part of this problem, and we
shall all be part of the solution. Lastly, Johnson also uses epistrophe in Lines 190 191 ( All Americans
must have the privileges of citizenship regardless of race. And they are going to have those privileges
of citizenship regardless of race ), where the phrase regardless of race is repeated. Using epistrophe
has the same effect as if the speaker repeats the same phrase for the people in the back . In other
words, the use of epistrophe emphasizes Johnson s point that race does not matter in citizenship
issues. Likewise, Lyndon B. Johnson uses diction to make his speech s purpose more impactful and
echo across the country. For example, Johnson avoids using the term U.S citizen and instead uses
American, or Americans. The word America has more powerful connotations than using the term
prior. Being a U.S citizen is of legal matters, whereas being an American refers to loving your country
and being patriotic, and it has nationalistic connotations, and in

Came First Church
P Which came first, the Church or the mission of the Church? How do you answer that question?
When I have asked people that question, they usually answer the Church. We experience the Church
before we understand mission. We go to church. We worship in church. We come to know and grow in
our faith through the Church. People point out that the Holy Spirit came upon the 120 followers of
Christ in the Upper Room 10 days after Christ s Ascension. When the window opened and Peter gave
his first sermon, the Church began. What is often forgotten is what occurred 10 days before Pentecost.
For that we read Matthew 28:19 20, the last words Jesus spoke to his followers: Go, therefore, and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you... Jesus gave his followers a
mission, which preceded the formation of the Church. The formation of the Church would evolve
later, as we read about in the Acts of the Apostles. The mission, given by Christ, preceded the Church,
and the Church emerged from that mission.
If we take a moment and return to that rocky mountaintop in Matthew 28:19 20. Feel the breeze. Feel
the rocky soil under your feet. Hear all the people speaking around you. Be aware that Jesus is
standing there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Escobar says that the heart of mission is the drive to share the good news wit all, to cross every

an oral liturgy, narrative preaching, uninhibited emotionalism, maximum participation in prayer and
worship, dreams and vision, faith healing, and an intense search for community and belonging. As a

Abortion Is A Fetus A Living Human
Is a developing fetus a living human? Is a fetus not considered a human until the second trimester?
Does poverty, rape and disability justify an abortion? Is the abortion dilemma truly black and white?
Abortion is one of the most common medical procedures performed in the United States each year.
Nearly one in four of all pregnancies end in abortion equalling 42% of all yearly deaths around the
world. For pro life supporters, they say that life begins at conception; the instant when a sperm cell
unites with a egg cell. For pro choice supporters, they say at birth, a baby is a living human. At
conception, they know it is something but they don t consider it a human life. Since 1973, the number
of abortions has spiked drastically from over 700,000 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Others will object and say it is just a fetus. Millions of babies each year, die without even being born
because of abortion. How should society respond to the huge increase in the amount of abortions over
the past few years? Society needs to make a big change and make abortions illegal. People think it is
acceptable to kill someone who doesn t even have a say yet. People think it is acceptable to put their
rights before two other individuals. Why though? Why take what seems like the easy way out all the
time? Society is showing people that it is okay to kill unborn fetuses. Society certainly needs an
effective way of preventing abortions. But in the end, the fact that abortion has been legalized in
America since 1973, shows that right now our problem is only going to get bigger and we need to do
something about it

The Controversy About Feminism
In the minds of many, feminism is confused with misandry, the belief that women should be more

night walks through the park completely alone, and completely safe. Fighting for higher rates of self
esteem and complete acceptance without judgment. Feminism tells males that it is okay to cry and

Chesapeake Ship Trip
In April 1999, I was in Washington on business and a friend invited me for a sail on his Melges 24

The cockpit is long enough to accommodate a crew of four, and there is no built up transom to enable

Sarah immediately became concerned with the stern and perhaps the entire boat! At lunch, she

Interpretation Of Stormy Weather By Lena Horne
The version of Stormy Weather I like best was the cover by the Reigning Sound. In this version, the
song is updated from a classical style to an alternative rock and roll from the 50 s. The Reigning
Sound uses different instrumentation than the covers done by Lena Horne and Royal Crown Revue.
The instrumentation used by Reigning Sound, includes guitars, electric bases, keyboards, drums and
possibly other instruments. Using these types of instruments gives the song more appeal to the young
generations that have a taste for classic rock. Instrumentation is important when giving music a
category, for instance music that uses classical rock instruments sounds more upbeat and fast. The
cover by Lena Horne, does not incorporate the upbeat and fast rhythm s I look for when picking
music. This cover reminded me of songs played in old black and white movies. It made me feel
soothed, instead of energetic. When choosing my music, I want to feel energeic and moved, not
soothed. This cover sounds like it belong in a movie or playing as background noise to a musical,

The Pros And Cons Of Car Accidents
Car accidents have become a common occurrence today. According to the State Highway Patrol,
traffic deaths around Ohio have increased for the second year in a row. There were 1,057 traffic
fatalities in 2015 as compared to 1008 fatalities in 2014 and 990 fatalities in 2014. According to a
highway patrol spokesperson, approximately 60% of Ohio s fatal crashes in 2015 involved drivers
who were not wearing a seatbelt. Nearly one third of the fatal crashes involved drivers who were
impaired by alcohol or drugs.
If you were in a car accident and nobody got injured, you should count yourself lucky. It can be an
extremely traumatic experience to suffer severe injuries or to see your passengers (friends and/or
family) hurt or injured. It is also a very stressful experience if you are the one who is at fault and you
end up injuring another driver. Therefore, car accidents that do not result in any fatalities and major
injuries can be quite a blessing. Sometimes though, the vehicles are not as lucky and may suffer
significant damage. You may ask yourself in such a situation as to who will pay the cost of repairing
your car?
The legal requirement in Cleveland, Ohio is for drivers to carry a minimum insurance policy that
includes bodily injury liability and property damage liability coverage. Specifically, the required
minimum for bodily injury liability coverage is $25,000 per person injured in an accident and $50,000
for all persons injured in an accident. The required minimum for property damage liability coverage is
$25,000 for injury to or destruction of property of others.
Ohio is a liability state. This means that if you are in an accident and you incur medical injuries and/or
property damage, the driver who is responsible for the accident will be the one who will be held liable
for any damages. In other words, it will be the negligent driver s insurance company who will pay you
for any vehicle related damages. That is precisely why the mandatory insurance policy in Ohio
requires all drivers to carry a $25,000 property damage coverage.
However, since Ohio is a liability state and any damages paid by the parties involved in an accident is
dependent on the level of their fault, you have to keep in mind that if you

Persuasive Speech About Phobias
Have you ever thought about how weird a lot of phobias can be? Ones such as being afraid of cats,
afraid of going anywhere near stairs, afraid of the world ending and constantly living in a state of fear
or being scared of fake superstitions like Friday the 13th? Imagine what life must be like for those
kinds of people.
Even then, what about normal, more common ones like the fear of heights or the fear of incredibly
sharp objects, fear of snakes, spiders, failure or being stuck in tight spaces? In what way can these
weird or common phobias affect people s lives around the world? There s literally over hundreds of

The Importance Of Ability Schooling In Elementary School...
Over the last 20 years, enrollment rates in public schools have increased by at least 7 percent (NCES
2017). That makes the overall total of students enrolled in school reach around 50.3 million students
(NCES 2017). Every student enters schooling with different academic skill levels, and ability
grouping can help teachers raise students academic performances. Ability grouping is where students
are grouped in the classroom based off their ability to learn, their academic skills, and their talents in
the classroom (NEA 2017). Ability grouping improves academic performance in public elementary

Since 1870, the education curriculum has seen many changes of development that has had a positive outcome on education. • 4. The Importance Of Fatigue Condition Rice et al. [121] first reported that the size of plastic zone under creep stress was 4 times that of under fatigue conditions using theoretical calculation. Subsequently, Irwin at al. [122] established equations for estimating the plastic zone size under creep and fatigue, and Equations (1) and (2) show that the size of plastic zone will reduce with increasing yield strength of AA alloy. 3. Discussion It is generally assumed that the crack growth rate of coarse grain is lower than that of fine grain, and the fatigue crack growth resistance can be improved by increasing the grain size [79]. Reasons can be mainly concluded by the following three aspects [80,81], i.e., first, grain boundary is weakened under high temperature, and cracks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lots of experimental results indicate that the grain size can significantly affect the fatigue crack growth rate of AA alloy. However, the experimental results in this study indicate that with decreasing grain size the fatigue crack growth rate of AA alloy becomes smaller and smaller. Therefore, the fatigue crack growth resistance increases with decreasing grain size. This is opposite to the prevailing effect of grain size on fatigue crack growth rate. The main reasons are concluded as follows: (1) Previous experimental results indicate that the amount of η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase can significantly affect the DFCGR property of AA alloy. The η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase mainly plays a role of pinning grain boundary and retarding the intergranular diffusion of oxygen. Thus, the crack growth at grain boundaries can be retarded, and the notch sensitivity of the alloy can be avoided. Therefore, more the η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase, the fatigue crack growth rate of the alloy can be reduced favourably. Figure 1 shows that the amount and morphology of η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase precipitated from AA alloy with different grain sizes are different under the same thermal treatments. With decreasing grain size, both the grain boundary area of the alloy and the amount of η Ni3Al0.5Nb0.5 phase increase, and the ability of grain boundary pinning and grain boundary oxygen diffusion retarding are significantly enhanced, thus the fatigue crack growth rate will reduce ... Since the start of the French Colonization of Indochina around 1893, tension was present in both parties which was only deepened by the series of occurrences and notions that followed. Intentional teaching of historical inquiry explores the changes that happen over time while observing specific family related examples. Curriculum outcome (ACHASSI018) looks at students posing questions about past and present objects, people, places and events. An example, of incorporating this history learning area of the Australian curriculum into a lesson plan can arise from celebrating cultural diversity through national events such as harmony day. Students may attend schooling on harmony day dressed in cultural dress, bring along parents and members of older generations, or display everyday objects relating to their culture or belonging to previous family generations. Collaborating with students families to introduce historical provocation through the sharing of events like harmony day will foster a young child s social development and enhance their social and cultural knowledge and awareness (Mindes, 2015). Educators would then use the cultural experiences students and family members have shared to spark curiosity and imagination for educators and students to pose questions with the stems of where, what, how, and why that really encourage and deliver open ended responses, instead of yes and no answers and the memorising of facts. Examples of questions relevant to historical inquiry include are we more the same or different than others, and why?, can someone belong to more than one culture?, how do people live in other places?, how are these places different?, and does technology change our lives for the better ? • 16. Society Reflection Paper Now that the different facets of the multiverse theory have been explained, what about society s reaction? My hypothesis is that society will freak out and eventually progress into a nihilistic and existential society. Inevitably, there will also be individuals who react differently. I believe society s reaction will mirror that of what happened when Charles Darwin proposed his theory of evolution. Because society went haywire when their view of the world was changed, no doubt society will react in a similar way because their view of the entire universe itself would change. A majority of the population sees our universe as a singular entity that exists on its own. Outside of our universe, there is nothing, since everything we know of is contained within the universe. But the multiverse theory claims that other universes exist outside of our own. Those universes contain other versions of ourselves in different contexts, different jobs, different socioeconomic levels, and with different passions. Right after Charles Darwin s theory of evolution was published, it was read and reviewed by people of different religions, interests, and professions. Many of its first readers were appalled. John Leifchild writes in the Athenaeum, Man, in [Darwin s] view, was born yesterday he will perish tomorrow. They have special properties that differ from both the longitudinal waves of conventional ultrasound imaging (which relies on the bulk modulus of elasticity) and from conventional compression elastography. They travel at few metres per second, depending on the visco elastic properties of the tissue, and are rapidly attenuated, so that for practically achievable disturbances they have dissipated after travelling for afew centimeters(101). Even though the interest of hate crimes has increased in recent developments, it has deep historic roots that dates back into time. Statistics of U.S. history has shown that assaults, murders, and acts of vandalism has stemmed from hatred. The first hate crime victims were Native Americans and since then almost all U.S. immigrants have been exposed to violence, discrimination, and harassment. There are many various definitions of the key word hate crimes, but in general terms hate crimes is a carefully thought about illegal act against a person, property, or an organization that is roused by the guilty party s bias ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This legislation can empower the federal government to more effectively protect Americans from bias crimes and to step in when local law enforcement agencies either cannot or will not act to stop hate (Roleff 105). However, for those who believe that hate crimes are not as significant as some may think, they have been shooting down the idea that hate crime laws should form in the U.S. government. Some consider that this matter is an overstated issue a result that the public is touchy to discrimination or prejudice. Other arguments against legislation of hate crime laws include that they don t encourage people to stop participating in this type of criminal act and in fact encourage additional discrimination and marginalization. A federal hate crime law can be used to protect only certain groups and punish only certain crimes as hate crimes (Roleff 113). There was a case in the 1990s where one black man who attacked a white man got a less severe prison sentence over a black man who beat another black man. Situations such as this one can make it seem like some kinds of hate are more unlawful than others. There is little research that examines how prejudice turns into violent action. However, research has examined a characteristic profile that describes common perpetrators and types of hate crime offenders. Contrary to the common way of thinking, most hate crimes aren t devoted by people who belong to hate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Marxist Alienation In Nazi Germany A defeated nation sending 12 year old children into the front lines, undying fanatical patriotism the story of the Third Reich s struggle for survival and fight to the death seems to defy logic. The application of the Marxist principle of the alienation of a worker from fellow workers is critical to understanding how the Nazi Party retained its almost paradoxical hold on the populace through paranoia and fear and how years of scapegoating fed a parasitic internal distrust embedded deep within Nazi Germany. To adopt the economic perspective required for viewing 1940s Nazi Germany through the lens of Marxist alienation, the Nazi regime must be abstractified and analyzed as a business, and its subjects as laborers. The Nazi regime, like a business, has only one purpose: obtaining value. For the Nazi regime, that value is power for the Fuhrer. For a Nazi regime fighting a losing war, that value is also whatever helps the regime in the war effort: reporting traitors, promoting loyalty to the Fuhrer, willingly surrendering everything for the war, and most importantly, keeping Hitler in power. A citizen, soldier, Jew, any citizen of Germany serves only one purpose to the Nazi regime: generating value. In return, Germans are rewarded favor with the Nazi party: for some that means additional power, for others, living another day. Just as laborers compete for wages, Germans compete for that favor, be it Nazi generals competing for Hitler s favor or a citizen betraying his Jewish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Odyssey In The Odyssey By Homer And Homer s The Odyssey All odysseys tell the story of a great adventure; in fact the word odyssey literally defines as a heroic adventure filled with notable events and hardships. Likewise in the epic poem The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus is not permitted to arrive home until he overcomes his biggest challenge, fixing his prideful attitude. The purpose of the passage found in Book V lines 65 102, is to reinforce Odysseus image as an epic hero and his loyalty to his family and homeland, in spite of challenges that arise that attempt to deter him from returning home. The structure and language utilised by Homer builds up the meaning of the passage; creating a contrast from the lush and enchanting feel of the goddess Calypso s estate, to the grief of Odysseus being away from his homeland Ithaca and his family, including his loyal wife Penelope. Homer inserted an array of symbolic descriptions to create the warm and luxurious mood of Calypso s abode. At the outset of the passage Homer describes a great fire (65) blazing on the hearth. Fire is applied by many to create a sense of warmth and comfort, and correspondingly here to depict the welcoming nature of Calypso s place. Then as Calypso enters the passage, she smoothly glides across the room, her golden shuttle weaving (71) in hand. Homer noted that the shuttle that Calypso was holding was made of gold. Gold gives the reader a sense of the wealth and luxury of the goddess s home. Again we get to sense the luxury when we read how the surrounding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Living in a wealthy community; full of golf courses, tennis courts and lots of parties, an envious lifestyle, but in the end Neddy s journey doesn t seem so desirous. Cheever uses symbolism to describe the phases of Neddy s life and reflects on how a life of alcoholism is a constant sink or swim battle. Neddy discovers the power of alcohol has destroyed his life, stripped him of his social status, and in the end leaves him alone, all while still craving alcohol. In the beginning, Neddy is sitting poolside with his wife Lucinda and friends; Helen and Donald Westerhazy. Lyndon Baines Overcome Rhetorical Analysis The Civil Rights Movement of 1954 1968 is a time of struggle and efforts for African American equality and can be categorized as a peaceful movement of restless seekers of justice. But after the Selma to Montgomery March in Alabama in 1965, where many ended injured and one ended up killed, President Lyndon B. Johnson saw this as his executive duty to show the nation that this was an American problem that we all needed to fix. On March 15, 1965, a week after Selma, Johnson gave We Shall Overcome, a speech whose purpose was to motivate civil rights to African Americans and make it into a civil cause, as well as gain support for a bill that rightly legally aids to this solution of discrimination. With this, he means to emphasize that we have all been a part of this problem, and we shall all be part of the solution. Lastly, Johnson also uses epistrophe in Lines 190 191 ( All Americans must have the privileges of citizenship regardless of race. And they are going to have those privileges of citizenship regardless of race ), where the phrase regardless of race is repeated. Using epistrophe has the same effect as if the speaker repeats the same phrase for the people in the back . In other words, the use of epistrophe emphasizes Johnson s point that race does not matter in citizenship issues. Likewise, Lyndon B. Johnson uses diction to make his speech s purpose more impactful and echo across the country. For example, Johnson avoids using the term U.S citizen and instead uses American, or Americans. We experience the Church before we understand mission. We go to church. We worship in church. We come to know and grow in our faith through the Church. People point out that the Holy Spirit came upon the 120 followers of Christ in the Upper Room 10 days after Christ s Ascension. When the window opened and Peter gave his first sermon, the Church began. What is often forgotten is what occurred 10 days before Pentecost. For that we read Matthew 28:19 20, the last words Jesus spoke to his followers: Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you... Jesus gave his followers a mission, which preceded the formation of the Church. The formation of the Church would evolve later, as we read about in the Acts of the Apostles. The mission, given by Christ, preceded the Church, and the Church emerged from that mission. If we take a moment and return to that rocky mountaintop in Matthew 28:19 20. Feel the breeze. In this version, the song is updated from a classical style to an alternative rock and roll from the 50 s. The Reigning Sound uses different instrumentation than the covers done by Lena Horne and Royal Crown Revue. • 36. The Pros And Cons Of Car Accidents Car accidents have become a common occurrence today. According to the State Highway Patrol, traffic deaths around Ohio have increased for the second year in a row. There were 1,057 traffic fatalities in 2015 as compared to 1008 fatalities in 2014 and 990 fatalities in 2014. According to a highway patrol spokesperson, approximately 60% of Ohio s fatal crashes in 2015 involved drivers who were not wearing a seatbelt. Nearly one third of the fatal crashes involved drivers who were impaired by alcohol or drugs. If you were in a car accident and nobody got injured, you should count yourself lucky. It can be an extremely traumatic experience to suffer severe injuries or to see your passengers (friends and/or family) hurt or injured. It is also a very stressful experience if you are the one who is at fault and you end up injuring another driver. Therefore, car accidents that do not result in any fatalities and major injuries can be quite a blessing. Sometimes though, the vehicles are not as lucky and may suffer significant damage. You may ask yourself in such a situation as to who will pay the cost of repairing your car? The legal requirement in Cleveland, Ohio is for drivers to carry a minimum insurance policy that includes bodily injury liability and property damage liability coverage. Specifically, the required minimum for bodily injury liability coverage is $25,000 per person injured in an accident and $50,000 for all persons injured in an accident. The required minimum for property damage liability coverage is $25,000 for injury to or destruction of property of others. Ohio is a liability state. This means that if you are in an accident and you incur medical injuries and/or property damage, the driver who is responsible for the accident will be the one who will be held liable for any damages. In other words, it will be the negligent driver s insurance company who will pay you for any vehicle related damages. That is precisely why the mandatory insurance policy in Ohio requires all drivers to carry a $25,000 property damage coverage. However, since Ohio is a liability state and any damages paid by the parties involved in an accident is dependent on the level of their fault, you have to keep in mind that if you ... That makes the overall total of students enrolled in school reach around 50.3 million students (NCES 2017). Every student enters schooling with different academic skill levels, and ability grouping can help teachers raise students academic performances. Ability grouping is where students are grouped in the classroom based off their ability to learn, their academic skills, and their talents in the classroom (NEA 2017). Ability grouping improves academic performance in public elementary school classrooms. The purpose of ability grouping is to increase students achievement in the classroom. Research has shown that ability grouping has improved many math and reading grades throughout elementary schools. Ability grouping with smaller groups is a lot more common for reading groups than they for math groups. Ability grouping gives teachers the chance to work with students in smaller numbers. Research has been found that having smaller group sizes, because of ability grouping, also increases academic performances (Kutnick, Blatchford Baines 2002). Ability grouping gives teachers the opportunity to teach new information to kids that learn the same way and at the same pace. According to Kutnick et al. (2002), Children were least likely to work on tasks involving the introduction of new knowledge (p 195). When students are put into small groups, they are able to learn ...
