Print Magazine Advertising On The World
Print magazine ads can have a lot of influence in the world, like offering a new window into a product
that readers did not know before. The ads from magazines offer a first impression of some introducing
a whole new world. Some present relics from an old dying age to products that are at the front of what
is going to happen and how fast. With the business of watches dropping in favor of cell phones,
Breitling and Rolex needed a way that they could help drum up business and revenue. One such
example of this is Breitling, Breitling took a liking to Fast Company while Rolex tried personal luck
in Fortune magazine. Targeting the middle to high income professionals they appeal through the tones
of innovation and remembrance of old money. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Below their slogan for the ad, there is an explanation of what their watches go through on a daily
routine for the pilots and for those who use the watch daily. There is a list of four locations around this
nation where a buyer can go get their own Breitling Watch, at one of their own boutiques. To top off
the ad that oozes authority, challenge, and excitement, the Breitling gold wings placard onto the page
followed by the main slogan, Instruments for Professionals . The watch itself, the Super Avenger II;
the black dials accented by white face plates, hints of red and blue compliment the watch. The band, a
stainless steel showing off a matte silver color, shows a shine that is not offered by many. Watches of
this caliber offer a level of quality and expertise and they are marketed to such a level so that the
readers of Fortune Magazine can experience. The Breitling ad published in the Fast Company is, ...the
only business media brand that inspires change according to the Fast Company Media Kit. Fast
Company has an average circulation of 725,000 people every month. The readers of the magazine
have an average age of forty five and with a gender composition of 60% men and 40% women. Fast
Company is the magazine for business people who knows what they want, and so they work to
achieve that goal.

Essay On Antiotemporal Swarms
In this section, we introduce the main contribution of this paper. We design a single database scan
efficient method to mine various kinds of spatiotemporal swarms using four kinds of pruning methods
which reduce the computational cost. Then, we discover some significant trajectory locations and
strong relationships among the objects. The following subsections formalize the concepts and
introduce a detailed description of the proposed method.

These kinds of swarms mining are significant that is why we propose periodic swarms mining and
reduce the complexity and redundant swarms we use parsimonious periodic swarm mining. After that,
we motivated to find the similar groups of users and find the important locations depends on time on
trajectory networks.
The following two examples give an intuitive explanation of our method. Let, $min_{object}= 2$ and
$min_{time} = 2$ in these examples.

Figure ref{fig3} shows the basic structure of the environment. There are 5 moving objects $O_{db} =
left{o_1, o_2, o_3, o_4, o_5right}$, 4 timestamps $T_{db} = left{t_1, t_2, t_3, t_4right}$ and 4
locations $L_{db} = left{L_0, L_1, L_2, L_3right}$. It is clear to see that at the location $L_0$
create short time swarm at timestamps $(t_1, t_2, t_3)$ and at location $L_2$ create short time swarm
at timestamps $t_4$ though there are no common objects. On the other hand, it shows that $o_3$ and
$o_4$ travel together from time $t_1$ to $t_2$ at locations $L_0$. According to the given threshold
value we find the long time spatiotemporal swarm is $(left{o_3, o_4right}, left{t_1, t_2right},
L_0)$. It also long time spatiotemporal close swarm because there are no super set. In this case, two
timestamps $t_1$ and $t_2$ are consecutive.

Unit 1 Religion Research Paper
1. In a minimum of 100 words, describe the basic teachings of Zoroastrianism. What a fascinating
religion, Zoroastrianism is! I never knew this religion existed. The first time I heard the word
Zoroastrianisam it was a few months back when someone on Facebook was talking about Gal Gadot,
the actress that plays wonder woman and saying that she is Zoroastrian, like it was a bad thing. Then, I
found a chapter in my text book pertaining to Zoroastrianisam and I was excited to read the chapter,
just to see what they are talking about. I asked myself, why would this be a bad thing if someone is
Zoroastrian? I learned that this is probably the oldest monotheistic religion on the world and most
importantly, the base for 3 major religions. Judaism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It dominated the world from 559 BCE to 651 CE. Just by reading the basics, we have seen many
similarities in all three of these religions. The most important one is of course the shared belief of an
almighty God, Ahura Mazda, Yehowa. The holy father is the one and only God in all three of these
regions. All three religions recognize the evil forces of the earth being led by one specific entity.
Resurrection, final judgment, hell, haven, and immortal soul, all of those elements essentially come
from Zoroastrian teachings and are very prevalent in Christianity and Judaism. The element of fire, if
you read how the bible describes judgment day, it is very similar to the Zoroastrian vision of the final
purification revelation, 20:11 15 speaking of the lake of fire. Christianity adopted several rituals from
Zoroastrianism, consisting of baptism, known in Zoroastrianism as a haoma ceremony, worshiping on
Sunday, and celibate priests that mediate between man and God http://www.cais

The Sleeping Giant
Inventory Management: The Sleeping Giant Inventory management seems intuitive at first. Avoid
stock outs by making sure you have enough inventory and you should be fine. After a few minutes
into our discussion, it was evident that I had grossly underestimated the science behind it. Figuring out
how much inventory to order, when to order it, and how to maintain it was something that never
crossed my mind. Having too much inventory was a problem I didn t think could hurt any company.
Throughout our discussions, I quickly learned that inventory management could be a course of its
own. Companies need to strategically prevent inventory disasters, but also discover how their
management of inventory can be a competitive advantage. The correct amount of inventory is a
constant balancing act between maintaining a safety stock your company has determined while not
over ordering. Every order has its costs, so making frequent orders is not the easy way out. The tool
used to approach this task is known as the EOQ, or the economic order quantity. The goal of the EOQ
measurement is to find the inventory lot size at which the company should order. The only two costs
associated with this model are inventory holding costs and fixed costs allocated to an order. While this
model can help with the decision making, the assumptions made under it can make it unreliable at
times. Lead times and demand rates remaining constant are two of the assumptions made that can vary
on unexpected levels

The Differences Between Mars And Earth
The atmosphere is defined as the envelope of gases surrounding the Earth or another planet
(Dictionary, 2017). The atmosphere is necessary for human life and without it, human life would not
be sustained. It acts as a protective shield that keeps the Earth warm. Not only does it act as a
protective shield however, it also protects all living things on Earth from the sun s extremely
damaging ultraviolet radiation. In addition to this, the atmosphere provides oxygen for both human
and animals to breathe, and it provides carbon dioxide for plants. Without the atmosphere, life would
not be sustained among all living things (Earth Rice, 2017).
Much to common disbelief, Mars and Earth have many things in common. Some of these factors
include similarities in size, inclination, structure, composition and the presence of water on their
surfaces (Universe Today, 2016). Mars is the next closest planet to Earth. It withholds all necessary
elements needed for life to exist. These include water, carbon dioxide (CO₂) and nitrogen
(HowStuffWorks, 2017). There are also unbelievable similarities between Mars atmosphere and the
Earth s atmosphere from billions of years ago. Like Mars, when the Earth was first formed it had no
oxygen and its atmosphere was comprised of carbon dioxide and nitrogen. Earth was not able to
produce oxygen until photosynthetic bacteria developed (HowStuffWorks, 2017). Mars atmosphere
consists of 95.3% carbon dioxide, 2.7% nitrogen, 1.6% argon and 0.2% oxygen.

Prophets from the Old Testament
Essay 4: Prophets
The Old Testament is finished up with several different lessons that can be learned from the prophet s
teachings. There were twelve different prophets in the Old Testament, who were also known as the
Minor Prophets. The Jews were anxious to know who God was, and the Old Testament prophets
offered understanding to many disputes. Idolatry, social injustice and religious ritualism are three
topics that are highlighted in the prophet s teachings and impressed upon the hearts of believers today.
Idolatry was one of the big issues among the Jews. God addressed this problem very early on in the
Bible in Exodus 20:3 6 when He said, Thou shalt have no other gods before me. The prophets took
this issue very seriously. Hosea was one of the Twelve Prophets, and his life correlates with the issue
the Israelites were facing with idolatry. The name Hosea means salvation , or He saves . Hosea family
life was rather unordinary. In Hosea 1:2 God spoke to Hosea and said, Go, marry a promiscuous
woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to
the Lord. Hosea s family life mirrored the adulterous relationship, which Israel had built on idols. The
relationship that Hosea had with his wife, Gomer, parallels to the relationship that Israel had with
God. Even though Gomer ran away from Hosea and slept with other men, Hosea still loved her and
forgave her. The same is true with Israel and God. Even though the

Culture Of Afric Africa
CULTURE OF AFRICA
INTRODUCTION The incomprehensible mainland of Africa is so rich and different in its society with
it transforming beginning with one of the nation then coming the next one as well as inside an
individual nation numerous diverse societies might be found. Much of Africa s social action focuses
on the family and the ethnic gathering. Symbolization, music, and oral writing serve to fortify existing
religious and social examples. The Westernized minority, impacted by European society and
Christianity, initially dismisses African conventional society, yet with the ascent of African patriotism,
social recovery happened. The legislatures of most African countries encourage national move and
music gatherings, storehouses, and to a lesser degree, craftsmen and journalists. Africa was the
origination of the human species between 8 million and 5 million years prior. Today, the larger part of
its tenants is of the indigenous cause. Individuals over the mainland are strikingly assorted by pretty
much any measure: They talk an inconceivable number of diverse dialects, polish several unique
religions, live in an assortment of sorts of abodes, and accept piece in a different variety of financial
actions. Through the hundreds of years, person s groups from distinguish area of the planet have
settled there. Verifiably, Arabs have been the most various workers. Beginning in the seventh century

The Outbreak Of Yellow Fever
The outbreak of yellow fever ceased when the first frost of November covered the city of
Philadelphia. Out of the eleven thousand people that contracted the fever, around five thousand died.
The epidemic took ten percent of the city s population. The epidemic of 1793 was the first to strike in
a twenty nine year period. From 1793 to 1822, the fever ravished through the port cities of the nation.
Yellow fever was not caused by miasma in the atmosphere like the inhabitants of Philadelphia
thought. The actual cause of the fever would not be known until the nineteenth century. The United
States invasion of Cuba would lead to the discovery of the cause. A man named Walter Reed
discovered that the virus was caused by the female Aedes aegypti mosquito in the year 1900. It would
not be until 1930 with the work of a man named Max Theiler that a vaccine would be developed. This
thesis is a deviation from the historiography of the epidemic. It does not examine the epidemic as a
battle of doctors. It instead examines how the epidemic played a larger role in American
independence. Before the epidemic, the nation was strengthening its individuality by creating its own
medical school. It was a step in the nation s journey of creating its own structures that did not involve
the British crown. However when the epidemic began to break out, it was evident that the nation still
held to European ideas. John Morgan s Medical Department of the College would become the

Texas V. Johnson Majority Opinion Essay
It s almost the end of 2016 and we still experience discriminative trouble. We are all different but
should accept others differences. After reading What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish? , by Etgar
Keret, Texas v. Johnson Majority Opinion , by William J. Brennan, and American Flag Stands for
Tolerance , by Ronald J. Alle, I have found fluent differences in the people explored and the way the
people accepted others. In Texas v. Johnson Majority Opinion the people of Texas are having a hard
time accepting the fact that Johnson had burned a flag. In American Flag Stands for Tolerance the
writer states that burning the flag wasn t illegal and should accept those who express what they

Johnson Majority Opinion focuses on an actual court case based on a situation where a flag was
burned. The people of Texas were outraged with Johnson. During the time of the case the people
gained acceptance to allowing Johnson to be a free man. The way to preserve the flag s special role is
not to punish those who feel differently about these matters. It is to persuade them that they are wrong.
, an excerpt from Texas v. Johnson Majority Opinion (line38), states that those who freely express
unlawful thoughts shall not be prosecuted, but proven that what they re expressing is unlawful.
American Flag Stands for Tolerance , an article based on the Johnson case, focuses on a person has a
right to express disagreement with governmental policies (line2). The author of this article focused on
the meaning of freedom. In line 65, the author states, the flag stands for free expression of ideas...The
ultimate irony would have been to punish views expressed by burning the flag that stands for the right
to those expressions , meaning it would be pointless to punish those who petulantly burned the flag as
an expression of their thoughts, when they have the freedom to express their

Lab Report On Amylase
Abstract
Amylase is an enzyme that is located in human saliva. It is solely accountable for breaking down
starch as a way to start the breakdown of food and is one of the first steps of digestion. The time at
which the enzyme starts the chemical reaction with starch is called the reaction rate. In order to study
how amylase works against starch, this experiment consisted of two tests; each testing a different
condition of amylase. The first test was to simply study the reaction between saliva and amylase and
note the reaction rates. The second test was to see if increasing the pH would decrease the reaction
rate or halt it all together. Saliva was collected, diluted, and tested for reactions between starch and
amylase. Another sample of saliva was collected, diluted, and had its pH increased and tested for
reaction rate. The findings after the experiment was conducted aligned with the original hypothesis.
The change in pH did show a significant decrease in the reaction rate.
Introduction
Proteins are one of the key biomolecules that make up the human body and facilitate different
processes and reactions in the body (Silverthorn, 2016). Proteins exist in every cell in the human body
and there are many different types of proteins with specialized functions that are necessary to maintain
homeostasis (Silverthorn, 2016). Enzymes are a type of protein that performs like catalysts in the cells
and start specific reactions (Ira, 2009).Catalysts start or increase the rate at

The Internet today is used by people of various ages. Although the internet is a great and useful
resource, yet internet dangers are around every corner. The use of technology has turned from

Presidents Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt through U.S. Periods of Struggle U.S. Presidents
Woodrow Wilson and Franklin D. Roosevelt both faced different periods of prolonged struggle in
America s history, both were able to use integrity and progressivism to help the nation thrive.
Presidents Wilson and Roosevelt were both members of the Democratic party and were advocators for

Essay On Misunderstood In The Metamorpoda
Outsiders: Misjudged or Misunderstood? What does being outsider mean? Does it mean being left out
of being different? People have often felt like an outsider at one point in their life, and wonder why.
Are outsiders misjudged or misunderstood? These two terms meet at a crossroads, and are commonly
misinterpreted. Misjudging someone is when you make a solid assumption or conclusion about them,
whether it be on their looks our how they act. Being misunderstood is when someone interprets you
for someone you are not. Based on both of these definitions, outsiders are simply misjudged. We can
see examples of outsiders being misjudged both in literature and in modern day society. The

Jordan, who was unarmed, was sitting in the front passenger s seat, with four other unarmed teens,
including Jordan s brother, in the car. Roy Oliver shot at the car with a rifle. A bullet broke through the
front passenger s window and hit Jordan. Shortly after, he was rushed to a hospital, where he died
from gunshot injuries. This story is one of many that has happened just in 2017. A total of 6 million
african americans were killed by police officers in the year 2016. One possible explanation for the
racial disparities is that police tend to patrol high crime neighborhoods, which are disproportionately
black. That means they are going to be generally more likely to initiate a policing action, from traffic
stops to more serious arrests, against a black person who lives in these areas. This goes to show how
misjudged most of modern day society is. More and more people are judged on their appearance or in
this situation, where they live. However, one could argue that outsiders are just misunderstood. For
example, referring back to the last paragraph, the african american culture is misunderstood because
of a stereotype they have always had hanging over their shoulders. Or even back to The
Metamorphosis , Gregor was misunderstood because his family at first became blind and relied on
Gregor for the support of Welfare, but they soon realized that Gregor was the happiness of the family.
Outsiders could also be misunderstood because some people chose to be outsiders

This essay will argue that private voluntary regulation is not an effective substitute for national and
multilateral regulations. Although it has advantages, it requires certain situations to ensure that the
regulations are effective; it also poses a lot of disadvantages. Concluding private voluntary regulation
should maybe be seen as complementing national and multilateral regulations instead of substituting
to maximize effectiveness.
Firstly we will begin by looking at the reasons why there has been a rise in voluntary regulations. This
essay will then proceed to look at merits of private regulation and the counter arguments which will

A benefit of private voluntary regulations is that since it has evolved we have seen a rise in Fair trade
this is where producers in developing countries are working in better trading conditions and are

A regulation has two standards outcome standards and process standards. Outcome standards can be
seen as health and safety, child labour and Process standards can be seen as labour rights. An
advantage of private voluntary regulations is that its helps to improve outcome standards. For example

The 1920s was a time in American history where there was explicit changes. The Roaring Twenties
had a massive impact on the American economy. It was a time in history where America started to
evolve as a country and become more dominant. Many states and cities in the United States sustained
economic prosperity. There was also an abundance of inventions and new music that spread quickly
throughout the country and became popular among a multitude of people. New fashion trends also
started to pop out and become popular. All these new major changes in the 20s developed the new and

Probably the most common word remembered from the Twenties is a flapper. A flapper was a woman
with a short bob that drank, smoked, and wore short skirts. People also referred them to using
unladylike terms. Although many women were not as rebellious as a flapper, they had flapper
wardrobes that was quite popular among women at that time. The 1920s was also a time where
women gained political freedom. The Nineteenth Amendment was passed which allowed women to
vote. In the past, women had fought very hard for them to gain political freedom and the Twenties was
the time that they had finally accomplished their goals. Many women also had white collar jobs which
meant that they were performing professional work. This led to the creation of birth control, which
allowed women to have fewer children or prevent them from having children if they did not want to.

The New Face of Black Feminine Beauty Essay
The New Face of Black Feminine Beauty
Since the early 1900s, Black women have had a fascination with their hair. More explicitly, they have
had a fascination with straightening their hair. The need to be accepted by the majority class has
caused them to do so. Though the image of straight hair as being better than coarse hair still hasn t left
the Black community, there has been a surge of non straight hairstyles since the nineteen sixties.
Wearing more natural hairstyles, which ironically enough include weaves and hair extensions has been
considered to be more empowered and more enlightened. However, this image comes with a price,
and though it appears the natural hairstyle movement has advanced Black women, it has actually set ...

The model is drawn because a real life model would be perceived to be fake, air brushed, etc. The
colorlessness of the drawing creates the scene of a universal Black woman. Also, the drawn picture
doesn t get into the light/dark color complex. The light/dark color complex is another ideological
problem in the Black community. Lighter Blacks (especially women) were perceived to be more
attractive, more intelligent, and more acceptable to the White community. Darker skinned Blacks were
perceived to be the opposite. This was deposited upon the culture during the slave era. Hair texture
also became an issue within the Black community, as lighter, straighter hair was perceived to be nicer,
and coarse, thick hair was perceived to be bad, ugly. The afro movement in the 60 s challenged this
ideology. In the 60 s, natural hair meaning coarse and thick, began to signify intelligence, Black
power, and resistance to the majority culture, overall enlightenment. This image was reborn in the late
1990s. Newer options for natural hairstyles and the increasing acceptance of dreadlocks reinitiated a
type of anti chemically relaxed hair movement. Refusing to put chemicals in one s hair (chemicals
referring to those used to straighten one s hair) meant refusing to cater to the slave mentality of light
skinned, straight haired beauty. However, the connection between natural hair and soulful,
enlightened, etc, only works if one s

The Sun Also Rises Relationships
Love and friendship are a major theme in the course of the book, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest

Due to postwar times, the relationships between Jake and his lover Brett, his friend Bill, and

The Effects Of Domestic Violence On Children Essay
Domestic violence is a crime of either passion or violence which should never be tolerated by
anybody if at all the society is to be made safe enough for people to live in. Domestic violence can be
defined as any threatening, abusive, or violent behavior in the home either between adult children and
other adult family members (Gibbons, 2011). It can also be used by one intimate partner to establish
power and control over the other partner through fear and intimidation. Domestic violence can happen
anywhere to anyone of any race, religion, culture, or economic status. It can occur in any relationship,
including heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender and also within extended families
(Women s Aid 2010). It affects both partners, their children, other family members, friends, and
colleagues. Although emotional abuse in a relationship can happen equally regardless of gender, the
more threatening and dangerous forms of domestic violence are usually committed by a man against a
woman (Patriarchal Roots, n.d). Often the aggressor in a violent relationship feels a high level of
ownership over the other partner and the children which too often results in injury or death if this
person tries to end the relationship or report the violence. Unfortunately, children are not left out and
many times they fall victims of abuse or sexual assault (Sexual violence against women, n.d). This can
be very traumatizing to the children and they might grow up in fear of being abusers

Twelfth Night Gender Analysis

Shakespeare Term Essay
Gender is one of the most prevalent themes in William Shakespeare s comedy, Twelfth Night. In
Twelfth Night, the play is based on Viola, a twin who gets separated away from her brother in a
shipwreck. To find work, Viola undertakes the disguise of Cesario, a young male who wants to work
in the household of Duke Orsino. Orsino has been personally dealing with the love he feels for Lady
Olivia, who refuses to entertain any man since she is dealing with the loss of her brother and father. In
Orsino s efforts to have Cesario facilitate love between himself and Olivia, Olivia ends up falling in
love with Cesario. Viola has also found herself falling in love with Orsino, thus creating a love
triangle between these three. In this love triangle, Shakespeare exhibits a challenge and a
reinforcement of the gender roles that were present in the setting he personally wrote the play from.
Through Olivia s attraction to Cesario, he challenges these gender roles and through Orsino s
attraction to Cesario, he reinforces these gender roles.
1
Twelfth Night is reported to have been written in 1601/1602 to be a festival amusement for the end of
the holiday season which would have been during Shakespeare s successful career in London as a
writer and an actor [shakespeare theatre peter thomson]. In early, Seventeenth century England, both

Character Analysis Of Everyman
Everyman, a morality play, was written in the late fifteenth century with the intention of
communicating to both educated, as well as, illiterate audiences some of the moral instructions
regarding the way to live life and prepare for judgment day. Liberty University (Lesson 26
presentation) says, This play taught masses of people about Christ and what constitutes a God
centered moral life. (Liberty University. n.d.) The use of characters such as; Death, Goods, Beauty,
Knowledge, Good deeds, and of course, Everyman, create a realistic understanding of the moral
message. The treatment and perception of the character Death within the play gives the audients
important insight to the way death is used by God and how it changes the outlook ... Show more

As each character betrays their promises to never leave or forsake Everyman, the reader can make a
personal connection that supports their understanding that the only way to salvation is through Christ;
not through the characters of the play such as Goods or Fellowship. All of the characters can be taken
literally to understand their nature in the real world. Death, as a character, is used as an analogy or
allegory for literal death. The author is demonstrating the use of Death to bring people back to God.
As Everyman continued in his search to find someone willing to accompany him to his reckoning he
comes across Good Deeds. Although the character, Good Deeds, was willing to accompany
Everyman, he is initially unable to so because of the fact that Good Deeds was never Everyman s
primary focus so he was lacking strength in that area. That being said, Good Deeds points Everyman
in the direction of his sister, Knowledge, who encourages him to seek Confession. By speaking with
Confession, he seeks forgiveness while also punishing himself by way of scourge of penance.
Everyman is then forgiven of his sins and Good Deeds rises from the ground strong enough to
accompany him to his final judgment. In this situation, God uses Death to free people of their sin and
bring them to salvation. Prior to being comforted by Good Deeds, Everyman was overwhelmed by
fear and anxiety. He was alone

assessment shows that the client does not need the dose now, the staff members have to stop giving the

medication errors in healthcare practices can be caused by many factors such as type of shift including
night shift vs day shift and/or 12 hour shift vs 8 hours shift. Kind of shift scheduling in the medical
health system can have negative consequences on workers health (Yu San Chang et al., 2014). The

African American History For The Past Century
The African American History from the Late 19th Century through the Present course was very
informative and educational. This course offered a broader view at looking and analyzing the history
of African American in the United States. Though, I have read extensively and possessed a small
collection of books on the subject, this course has affirmed what I have already knew as well as
elevating my knowledge on the subject. The course also opened up new ways to look and understand
certain facts about African American s experiences since Reconstruction.
There could not be a better textbook for this course than Freedom on My Mind. As I stated in a
previous assignment, the textbook is a mini reference encyclopedia of African American history for
the past century. The supporting documents throughout the textbook support the authors arguments as
well as providing the foundation for many unanswered questions that academics and intellectuals
should seek find answers from the government and people in leadership positions.
Parallel conclusions can be drawn to events involving African Americans in the late 19th century and
throughout the 20th century to current events with the exception that a few cases many end up in the
court. Discriminatory practices are wide spread in every sector of the American society. The fights for
school desegregation may have been won in the courtroom but segregationists found a way to
underfunded black schools. Affirmative Action may have provided a

Foundations of Higher Education
It is evident that higher education in the United States has gone through a tremendous transformation
since its origins in the mid 1600 s. From schools whose only function was the training of ministers to
the contemporary university of free and open access, both society and culture have had tremendous
effects on the evolution of higher education in America. This paper will explore those transformations
as related by the themes woven through the ten generations identified by. It will also offer evidence to
support the identified theme of each generation.

The large increase in female students attending co educational institutions supports the notion of
growth as a vital factor of higher education in the seventh generation.
Generation Eight This generation introduced higher education in America to the masses instead of just
those identified as elite. Students in the inner cities and those from modest means could also now
attend college alongside their wealthier counterparts. Geiger reports that the College of the City of
New York was one of the fastest growing institutions that catered to the mass population. In addition,
college was now within reach for most high school graduates growing from 9 to 51 percent of age
cohorts between 1910 and 1940.
Generation Nine The years 1945 1975 were characterized by the standardization of academics and the
growth of student bodies. According to Geiger, this period saw the greatest growth of students since
the founding of higher education in America. The introduction of the Serviceman s Readjustment Act
of 1944 was a pivotal tool that aided in spurring this unprecedented growth. In addition, institutions of
higher education evolved to become more similar in terms of curriculum, the training of faculty and
administrative functions.
Generation Ten Geiger proposes that the true importance and meaning of higher education in this final
generation is yet to be clearly defined or understood. While a predominant theme may yet be to
emerge, several important

Different securities are expected to generate different returns. WACC is calculated taking into account
the relative weights of each component of the capital structure. Broadly speaking, the assets of a
company are financed by either debt or equity. WACC is the average of the cost of each of these
sources of financing weighted by their respective usage in the given situation. By taking a weighted
average, we can see how much interest the company has to pay for every dollar it borrows. A firm s
WACC is the overall required return on the firm as a whole. It is the appropriate discount rate to use
for cash flows similar in risk to the overall firm.

economical. Indeed having had moved to Los Angeles recently, it is hard to believe or even notice that
Santa Monica was once a small cheap town and that compared to previous realities, it is now a very
expensive area to live and work and is recognized as an elite place to inhabit. Projects like such make

great senses of spaces within the building itself. Further, the idea of the terraces to overlook the city is

the residents to congregate or just be. On the other hand, the Star Apartments are units strictly used for
the homeless population. We had the great opportunity to tour it and even walk in one of the single
resident units. This marvelous project must inspire other architecture firms and city programs to
design and incentivize buildings like such. In fact, the homeless population in Los Angeles grows
every year making it the largest population in the United States because of weather conditions and
perhaps social communities. In previous lectures, we had learned that a law was passed in L.A. to
raise money from the government directly strictly towards homeless housing and programs to help
them. In fact, this topic in specific awakes great interest on me, making it my top choice for our final
presentations in class. Moreover, I have visited the building several times after our first toured visit,

  • 2. Print Magazine Advertising On The World Print magazine ads can have a lot of influence in the world, like offering a new window into a product that readers did not know before. The ads from magazines offer a first impression of some introducing a whole new world. Some present relics from an old dying age to products that are at the front of what is going to happen and how fast. With the business of watches dropping in favor of cell phones, Breitling and Rolex needed a way that they could help drum up business and revenue. One such example of this is Breitling, Breitling took a liking to Fast Company while Rolex tried personal luck in Fortune magazine. Targeting the middle to high income professionals they appeal through the tones of innovation and remembrance of old money. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Below their slogan for the ad, there is an explanation of what their watches go through on a daily routine for the pilots and for those who use the watch daily. There is a list of four locations around this nation where a buyer can go get their own Breitling Watch, at one of their own boutiques. To top off the ad that oozes authority, challenge, and excitement, the Breitling gold wings placard onto the page followed by the main slogan, Instruments for Professionals . The watch itself, the Super Avenger II; the black dials accented by white face plates, hints of red and blue compliment the watch. The band, a stainless steel showing off a matte silver color, shows a shine that is not offered by many. Watches of this caliber offer a level of quality and expertise and they are marketed to such a level so that the readers of Fortune Magazine can experience. The Breitling ad published in the Fast Company is, ...the only business media brand that inspires change according to the Fast Company Media Kit. Fast Company has an average circulation of 725,000 people every month. The readers of the magazine have an average age of forty five and with a gender composition of 60% men and 40% women. • 3. Essay On Antiotemporal Swarms In this section, we introduce the main contribution of this paper. We design a single database scan efficient method to mine various kinds of spatiotemporal swarms using four kinds of pruning methods which reduce the computational cost. Then, we discover some significant trajectory locations and strong relationships among the objects. The following subsections formalize the concepts and introduce a detailed description of the proposed method. begin{figure}[htp] centering includegraphics[width=0.9textwidth]{figure/arc} caption{System Architecture.} label{figure:arc} end{figure} subsection{System Overview} label{systemoverview} Figure ref{figure:arc} depicts the system architecture of our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These kinds of swarms mining are significant that is why we propose periodic swarms mining and reduce the complexity and redundant swarms we use parsimonious periodic swarm mining. After that, we motivated to find the similar groups of users and find the important locations depends on time on trajectory networks. The following two examples give an intuitive explanation of our method. Let, $min_{object}= 2$ and $min_{time} = 2$ in these examples. begin{myex} Figure ref{fig3} shows the basic structure of the environment. There are 5 moving objects $O_{db} = left{o_1, o_2, o_3, o_4, o_5right}$, 4 timestamps $T_{db} = left{t_1, t_2, t_3, t_4right}$ and 4 locations $L_{db} = left{L_0, L_1, L_2, L_3right}$. It is clear to see that at the location $L_0$ create short time swarm at timestamps $(t_1, t_2, t_3)$ and at location $L_2$ create short time swarm at timestamps $t_4$ though there are no common objects. On the other hand, it shows that $o_3$ and $o_4$ travel together from time $t_1$ to $t_2$ at locations $L_0$. According to the given threshold value we find the long time spatiotemporal swarm is $(left{o_3, o_4right}, left{t_1, t_2right}, L_0)$. It also long time spatiotemporal close swarm because there are no super set. In this case, two timestamps $t_1$ and $t_2$ are consecutive. end{myex} begin{figure}[htp] centering ... • 4. Unit 1 Religion Research Paper 1. In a minimum of 100 words, describe the basic teachings of Zoroastrianism. What a fascinating religion, Zoroastrianism is! I never knew this religion existed. The first time I heard the word Zoroastrianisam it was a few months back when someone on Facebook was talking about Gal Gadot, the actress that plays wonder woman and saying that she is Zoroastrian, like it was a bad thing. Then, I found a chapter in my text book pertaining to Zoroastrianisam and I was excited to read the chapter, just to see what they are talking about. I asked myself, why would this be a bad thing if someone is Zoroastrian? I learned that this is probably the oldest monotheistic religion on the world and most importantly, the base for 3 major religions. Judaism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It dominated the world from 559 BCE to 651 CE. Just by reading the basics, we have seen many similarities in all three of these religions. The most important one is of course the shared belief of an almighty God, Ahura Mazda, Yehowa. The holy father is the one and only God in all three of these regions. All three religions recognize the evil forces of the earth being led by one specific entity. Resurrection, final judgment, hell, haven, and immortal soul, all of those elements essentially come from Zoroastrian teachings and are very prevalent in Christianity and Judaism. The element of fire, if you read how the bible describes judgment day, it is very similar to the Zoroastrian vision of the final purification revelation, 20:11 15 speaking of the lake of fire. Christianity adopted several rituals from Zoroastrianism, consisting of baptism, known in Zoroastrianism as a haoma ceremony, worshiping on Sunday, and celibate priests that mediate between man and God http://www.cais soas.com/CAIS/Religions/iranian/Zarathushtrian/zoroastrianism_influence.htm. • 5. The Sleeping Giant Inventory Management: The Sleeping Giant Inventory management seems intuitive at first. Avoid stock outs by making sure you have enough inventory and you should be fine. After a few minutes into our discussion, it was evident that I had grossly underestimated the science behind it. Figuring out how much inventory to order, when to order it, and how to maintain it was something that never crossed my mind. Having too much inventory was a problem I didn t think could hurt any company. Throughout our discussions, I quickly learned that inventory management could be a course of its own. Companies need to strategically prevent inventory disasters, but also discover how their management of inventory can be a competitive advantage. The correct amount of inventory is a constant balancing act between maintaining a safety stock your company has determined while not over ordering. Every order has its costs, so making frequent orders is not the easy way out. The tool used to approach this task is known as the EOQ, or the economic order quantity. The goal of the EOQ measurement is to find the inventory lot size at which the company should order. The only two costs associated with this model are inventory holding costs and fixed costs allocated to an order. While this model can help with the decision making, the assumptions made under it can make it unreliable at times. Lead times and demand rates remaining constant are two of the assumptions made that can vary on unexpected levels ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Differences Between Mars And Earth The atmosphere is defined as the envelope of gases surrounding the Earth or another planet (Dictionary, 2017). The atmosphere is necessary for human life and without it, human life would not be sustained. It acts as a protective shield that keeps the Earth warm. Not only does it act as a protective shield however, it also protects all living things on Earth from the sun s extremely damaging ultraviolet radiation. In addition to this, the atmosphere provides oxygen for both human and animals to breathe, and it provides carbon dioxide for plants. Without the atmosphere, life would not be sustained among all living things (Earth Rice, 2017). Much to common disbelief, Mars and Earth have many things in common. Some of these factors include similarities in size, inclination, structure, composition and the presence of water on their surfaces (Universe Today, 2016). Mars is the next closest planet to Earth. It withholds all necessary elements needed for life to exist. These include water, carbon dioxide (CO₂) and nitrogen (HowStuffWorks, 2017). There are also unbelievable similarities between Mars atmosphere and the Earth s atmosphere from billions of years ago. Like Mars, when the Earth was first formed it had no oxygen and its atmosphere was comprised of carbon dioxide and nitrogen. Earth was not able to produce oxygen until photosynthetic bacteria developed (HowStuffWorks, 2017). Mars atmosphere consists of 95.3% carbon dioxide, 2.7% nitrogen, 1.6% argon and 0.2% oxygen. ... • 7. Prophets from the Old Testament Essay 4: Prophets The Old Testament is finished up with several different lessons that can be learned from the prophet s teachings. There were twelve different prophets in the Old Testament, who were also known as the Minor Prophets. The Jews were anxious to know who God was, and the Old Testament prophets offered understanding to many disputes. Idolatry, social injustice and religious ritualism are three topics that are highlighted in the prophet s teachings and impressed upon the hearts of believers today. Idolatry was one of the big issues among the Jews. God addressed this problem very early on in the Bible in Exodus 20:3 6 when He said, Thou shalt have no other gods before me. The prophets took this issue very seriously. Hosea was one of the Twelve Prophets, and his life correlates with the issue the Israelites were facing with idolatry. The name Hosea means salvation , or He saves . Hosea family life was rather unordinary. In Hosea 1:2 God spoke to Hosea and said, Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord. Hosea s family life mirrored the adulterous relationship, which Israel had built on idols. The relationship that Hosea had with his wife, Gomer, parallels to the relationship that Israel had with God. Even though Gomer ran away from Hosea and slept with other men, Hosea still loved her and forgave her. The same is true with Israel and God. Even though the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Out of the eleven thousand people that contracted the fever, around five thousand died. The epidemic took ten percent of the city s population. The epidemic of 1793 was the first to strike in a twenty nine year period. From 1793 to 1822, the fever ravished through the port cities of the nation. Yellow fever was not caused by miasma in the atmosphere like the inhabitants of Philadelphia thought. The actual cause of the fever would not be known until the nineteenth century. The United States invasion of Cuba would lead to the discovery of the cause. A man named Walter Reed discovered that the virus was caused by the female Aedes aegypti mosquito in the year 1900. It would not be until 1930 with the work of a man named Max Theiler that a vaccine would be developed. This thesis is a deviation from the historiography of the epidemic. It does not examine the epidemic as a battle of doctors. It instead examines how the epidemic played a larger role in American independence. Before the epidemic, the nation was strengthening its individuality by creating its own medical school. It was a step in the nation s journey of creating its own structures that did not involve the British crown. However when the epidemic began to break out, it was evident that the nation still held to European ideas. John Morgan s Medical Department of the College would become the University of ... After reading What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish? , by Etgar Keret, Texas v. Johnson Majority Opinion , by William J. Brennan, and American Flag Stands for Tolerance , by Ronald J. • 11. Lab Report On Amylase Abstract Amylase is an enzyme that is located in human saliva. It is solely accountable for breaking down starch as a way to start the breakdown of food and is one of the first steps of digestion. The time at which the enzyme starts the chemical reaction with starch is called the reaction rate. In order to study how amylase works against starch, this experiment consisted of two tests; each testing a different condition of amylase. The first test was to simply study the reaction between saliva and amylase and note the reaction rates. The second test was to see if increasing the pH would decrease the reaction rate or halt it all together. Saliva was collected, diluted, and tested for reactions between starch and amylase. Another sample of saliva was collected, diluted, and had its pH increased and tested for reaction rate. The findings after the experiment was conducted aligned with the original hypothesis. The change in pH did show a significant decrease in the reaction rate. Introduction Proteins are one of the key biomolecules that make up the human body and facilitate different processes and reactions in the body (Silverthorn, 2016). Proteins exist in every cell in the human body and there are many different types of proteins with specialized functions that are necessary to maintain homeostasis (Silverthorn, 2016). • 16. Essay On Misunderstood In The Metamorpoda Outsiders: Misjudged or Misunderstood? What does being outsider mean? Does it mean being left out of being different? People have often felt like an outsider at one point in their life, and wonder why. Are outsiders misjudged or misunderstood? These two terms meet at a crossroads, and are commonly misinterpreted. Misjudging someone is when you make a solid assumption or conclusion about them, whether it be on their looks our how they act. Being misunderstood is when someone interprets you for someone you are not. Based on both of these definitions, outsiders are simply misjudged. We can see examples of outsiders being misjudged both in literature and in modern day society. The Metamorphosis , a short story written by Franz Kafka, tells ... Roy Oliver shot at the car with a rifle. A bullet broke through the front passenger s window and hit Jordan. Shortly after, he was rushed to a hospital, where he died from gunshot injuries. This story is one of many that has happened just in 2017. A total of 6 million african americans were killed by police officers in the year 2016. One possible explanation for the racial disparities is that police tend to patrol high crime neighborhoods, which are disproportionately black. That means they are going to be generally more likely to initiate a policing action, from traffic stops to more serious arrests, against a black person who lives in these areas. This goes to show how misjudged most of modern day society is. More and more people are judged on their appearance or in this situation, where they live. However, one could argue that outsiders are just misunderstood. For example, referring back to the last paragraph, the african american culture is misunderstood because of a stereotype they have always had hanging over their shoulders. Or even back to The Metamorphosis , Gregor was misunderstood because his family at first became blind and relied on Gregor for the support of Welfare, but they soon realized that Gregor was the happiness of the family. Lighter Blacks (especially women) were perceived to be more attractive, more intelligent, and more acceptable to the White community. Darker skinned Blacks were perceived to be the opposite. This was deposited upon the culture during the slave era. Hair texture also became an issue within the Black community, as lighter, straighter hair was perceived to be nicer, and coarse, thick hair was perceived to be bad, ugly. The afro movement in the 60 s challenged this ideology. In the 60 s, natural hair meaning coarse and thick, began to signify intelligence, Black power, and resistance to the majority culture, overall enlightenment. This image was reborn in the late 1990s. The Effects Of Domestic Violence On Children Essay Domestic violence is a crime of either passion or violence which should never be tolerated by anybody if at all the society is to be made safe enough for people to live in. Domestic violence can be defined as any threatening, abusive, or violent behavior in the home either between adult children and other adult family members (Gibbons, 2011). It can also be used by one intimate partner to establish power and control over the other partner through fear and intimidation. Domestic violence can happen anywhere to anyone of any race, religion, culture, or economic status. It can occur in any relationship, including heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender and also within extended families (Women s Aid 2010). It affects both partners, their children, other family members, friends, and colleagues. Although emotional abuse in a relationship can happen equally regardless of gender, the more threatening and dangerous forms of domestic violence are usually committed by a man against a woman (Patriarchal Roots, n.d). Often the aggressor in a violent relationship feels a high level of ownership over the other partner and the children which too often results in injury or death if this person tries to end the relationship or report the violence. Twelfth Night Gender Analysis Janelle Owusu Dr. Wood LMC 3228 30 November 2017 Shakespeare Term Essay Gender is one of the most prevalent themes in William Shakespeare s comedy, Twelfth Night. In Twelfth Night, the play is based on Viola, a twin who gets separated away from her brother in a shipwreck. To find work, Viola undertakes the disguise of Cesario, a young male who wants to work in the household of Duke Orsino. Orsino has been personally dealing with the love he feels for Lady Olivia, who refuses to entertain any man since she is dealing with the loss of her brother and father. In Orsino s efforts to have Cesario facilitate love between himself and Olivia, Olivia ends up falling in love with Cesario. Viola has also found herself falling in love with Orsino, thus creating a love triangle between these three. In this love triangle, Shakespeare exhibits a challenge and a reinforcement of the gender roles that were present in the setting he personally wrote the play from. Through Olivia s attraction to Cesario, he challenges these gender roles and through Orsino s attraction to Cesario, he reinforces these gender roles. 1 Twelfth Night is reported to have been written in 1601/1602 to be a festival amusement for the end of the holiday season which would have been during Shakespeare s successful career in London as a writer and an actor [shakespeare theatre peter thomson]. The author is demonstrating the use of Death to bring people back to God. As Everyman continued in his search to find someone willing to accompany him to his reckoning he comes across Good Deeds. Although the character, Good Deeds, was willing to accompany Everyman, he is initially unable to so because of the fact that Good Deeds was never Everyman s primary focus so he was lacking strength in that area. That being said, Good Deeds points Everyman in the direction of his sister, Knowledge, who encourages him to seek Confession. By speaking with Confession, he seeks forgiveness while also punishing himself by way of scourge of penance. • 30. African American History For The Past Century The African American History from the Late 19th Century through the Present course was very informative and educational. This course offered a broader view at looking and analyzing the history of African American in the United States. Though, I have read extensively and possessed a small collection of books on the subject, this course has affirmed what I have already knew as well as elevating my knowledge on the subject. The course also opened up new ways to look and understand certain facts about African American s experiences since Reconstruction. There could not be a better textbook for this course than Freedom on My Mind. As I stated in a previous assignment, the textbook is a mini reference encyclopedia of African American history for the past century. The supporting documents throughout the textbook support the authors arguments as well as providing the foundation for many unanswered questions that academics and intellectuals should seek find answers from the government and people in leadership positions. Parallel conclusions can be drawn to events involving African Americans in the late 19th century and throughout the 20th century to current events with the exception that a few cases many end up in the court. Discriminatory practices are wide spread in every sector of the American society. The fights for school desegregation may have been won in the courtroom but segregationists found a way to underfunded black schools. Affirmative Action may have provided a ... • 32. Foundations of Higher Education It is evident that higher education in the United States has gone through a tremendous transformation since its origins in the mid 1600 s. From schools whose only function was the training of ministers to the contemporary university of free and open access, both society and culture have had tremendous effects on the evolution of higher education in America. This paper will explore those transformations as related by the themes woven through the ten generations identified by. It will also offer evidence to support the identified theme of each generation. Generation One The first generation of higher education in America saw the development of colleges as adjuncts or outgrowths of their respective churches. The original three ... The large increase in female students attending co educational institutions supports the notion of growth as a vital factor of higher education in the seventh generation. Generation Eight This generation introduced higher education in America to the masses instead of just those identified as elite. Students in the inner cities and those from modest means could also now attend college alongside their wealthier counterparts. Geiger reports that the College of the City of New York was one of the fastest growing institutions that catered to the mass population. In addition, college was now within reach for most high school graduates growing from 9 to 51 percent of age cohorts between 1910 and 1940. Generation Nine The years 1945 1975 were characterized by the standardization of academics and the growth of student bodies. According to Geiger, this period saw the greatest growth of students since the founding of higher education in America. The introduction of the Serviceman s Readjustment Act of 1944 was a pivotal tool that aided in spurring this unprecedented growth. In addition, institutions of higher education evolved to become more similar in terms of curriculum, the training of faculty and administrative functions. Generation Ten Geiger proposes that the true importance and meaning of higher education in this final generation is yet to be clearly defined or understood. While a predominant theme may yet be to emerge, several important ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

WACC is calculated taking into account the relative weights of each component of the capital structure. Broadly speaking, the assets of a company are financed by either debt or equity. WACC is the average of the cost of each of these sources of financing weighted by their respective usage in the given situation. By taking a weighted average, we can see how much interest the company has to pay for every dollar it borrows. A firm s WACC is the overall required return on the firm as a whole. It is the appropriate discount rate to use for cash flows similar in risk to the overall firm. • 37. Broadway Housing Case Study The Broadway Housing: Intimate Enclave is a great example of architects such as Daly designing housing for the masses with great inspiration. It is amazing to see and read how affordable housing can be so aesthetically pleasing and well designed while still taking advantage of the funds and be economical. Indeed having had moved to Los Angeles recently, it is hard to believe or even notice that Santa Monica was once a small cheap town and that compared to previous realities, it is now a very expensive area to live and work and is recognized as an elite place to inhabit. Projects like such make it possible to people from all kinds of economic status to live and work in great spots of Los Angeles County, such as Santa Monica. In fact, Daly s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This project is considered an infill design maximizing the amounts of units on site but still providing great senses of spaces within the building itself. Further, the idea of the terraces to overlook the city is a great illustration of architecture that cares about its users since it integrates nice relaxing spaces for the residents to congregate or just be. On the other hand, the Star Apartments are units strictly used for the homeless population. We had the great opportunity to tour it and even walk in one of the single resident units. This marvelous project must inspire other architecture firms and city programs to design and incentivize buildings like such. In fact, the homeless population in Los Angeles grows every year making it the largest population in the United States because of weather conditions and perhaps social communities. In previous lectures, we had learned that a law was passed in L.A. to raise money from the government directly strictly towards homeless housing and programs to help them. In fact, this topic in specific awakes great interest on me, making it my top choice for our final presentations in class. Moreover, I have visited the building several times after our first toured visit, and I believe it has great potential to make a difference in the urban fabric because of its location and notorious design. One of the aspects that I enjoyed the most that Webb mentions in his book is the second level social space on the building and the amazing opportunities spaces like this ...
