Batista s Communist Revolution
Before the successful revolution in 1959, Cuba had suffered from bad government and corruption of
power for nearly the whole first half of the 21st century. Then in 1952 Fulgencio Batista overruled the
Cuban government by force and created a one party dictatorship. Batista s cruel political strategies left
the country in turmoil, causing Cubans everywhere to live in harsh conditions under a totalitarian
state. One of the many citizens unsatisfied with Batista s right wing ways was a young Communist
politician named Fidel Castro. After failing to convince the court that Batista had violated the Cuban
Constitution, he decided a violent Communist Revolution was the only necessary option to overthrow
Batista. Dictatorship was an option because after the failed Moncada Barracks attack, the 26th of July
Movement and finally the defeat of Batista in 1959, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even till this year the Cuban regime jails politicians with opposing views. The Bay of Pigs was a fight
between Cuban exiles from the US, and the Castro government. This event made Castro even more
popular and raised greater tension between the two countries. The US trade embargo was then
established on Cuba in 1962. However Castro was still able to stay financially stable and powerful
from the increased support from the Soviet Union. For nearly 5 decades Castro s Censorship on media
was also said to be one of the most extreme in the western hemisphere. Entertainment such as books,
radio, movies and tvs were heavily censored certain privileges were only available to a certain view in
the country. Another Dictator strategy he used was destroying private property, by not allowing private
businesses to function and also limiting the amount of land one person could own. Castro also create a

Understanding Jeremiah s Prophecy
Compulsory Service and Conditional Calamity
The original prophecy said:
11 And all this land will be reduced to ruins and will become an object of horror, and these nations
will have to serve the king of Babylon for 70 years. 12 But when 70 years have been fulfilled, I will
call to account the king of Babylon and that nation for their error, declares Jehovah, and I will make
the land of the Chaldeans a desolate wasteland for all time. Jer. 2511 12
The Original Prophecy content:
1. Babylon to be used as Gods servant to punish disobedient nations including Jerusalem and Judah
2. Land to be reduced to ruins and a object of horror
3. All these nations including Jerusalem and Judah to serve Babylon 70 years explicitly.
4. Context shows that the serving Babylon for 70 years was compulsory , the calamity and ruin was
conditional the people could have served 70 years without suffering the calamity.
5. After 70 years Babylon call to account and suffers similar devastation
The Context
This is most important in understanding Jeremiah s prophecy, it is in fact the key to how the 70 years
is applied.
Jer 26:3 Perhaps they will listen and each one will turn back from his evil way, and I will change my
mind concerning the calamity that I intend to bring on them because of their evil deeds. (Calamity
conditional)
Jer 26:13 now, reform your ways and your actions and obey the voice of Jehovah your God, and
Jehovah will change his mind concerning the

Artist Statement For Illegal Alien
Artist Statement
My still image film Illegal Alien grew from a project or series of works I created last semester. The
charcoal animation in the intro was inspired by a short film, Puerta Abierta , I made in collaboration
with a friend in my experimental video class. The subject matter within this short film was about
feeling outcasted as a Mexican American. These themes are veiled behind a narrative; a deer
wandering aimlessly throughout an empty house thus feeling out of place. Streamside Day by Pierre
Huyghe was a frame of reference here because I was intrigued by the deer stumbling around an empty
suburban home and what that could mean in a narrative. For this piece, I wanted to create a narrative
with similar themes from Puerta Abierta

Admiral Nimitz is a great example of the leadership that ROTC teaches.
Admiral Chester Nimitz was born in Fredericksburg, Texas. This small town did not have many

second fleet staff. One that would stay one the ship during assaults and the other would stay behind to

them to overestimate American naval strength, and created as well improved command procedures

Marketing On Christmas Gift Exchange And Asymmetrical...
This paper looks at the gift giving tradition between the Natives and the Europeans. Carlos and Lewis
s Marketing in the Land of Hudson Bay article explains in great detail the strategies used by the
Hudson Bay Company to develop a trading relationship with the Natives, as well as the trends in
trading. The article also elucidates that in order to understand its customer s culture and demands, the
Hudson Bay Company participated in Native traditions one of which was to present gifts to Native
traders before the actual trading. As the importance of this tradition is emphasized in the article as well
as the data presented, this paper aims to explore the influence of receiving gifts on trade between the
two parties. Gift exchange is a common practice among many countries and many professions. The
economists look at gifts as an incentive to increase productivity. This theory is tested and proved in the
following two articles.
The article Regarding gifts on Christmas gift exchange and asymmetrical business relations by
Jeannette Lemmergaard, and Sara Louise Muhr, focuses on the impression the company gifts can
make on the business partners during Christmas. The authors argue that corporate gift exchange
between business partners at Christmas is an attempt to build personal relationships, as a gift
represents social and cultural value than just the economic value. The article extensively investigates
the regard and obligation phenomenon, which is explained in the article as:

The paper airplane experiment The Paper Airplane Experiment is to test how people interpret my
instructions on creating a paper airplane. The paper airplane instructions have short descriptions and
pictures. I gave my instructions to three people and asked the three people to follow them. The paper
airplane instructions stated the following: get a piece of paper, fold the paper according to the
diagrams, and throw the paper airplane. The three people I gave the paper airplane instructions to are:

looking at the diagrams at the later steps. Robbie was trying to figure out what to do at step two by
looking at what he should do at step 3, 4, and so on. When I ended the experiment, Robbie told me
that my instructions were unclear. I was surprised when Robbie told me that. Valerie and Pratap were
able to follow the instructions with little trouble. Robbie said the wording I used for the explanations

A Songwriting Analysis Essay
A Songwriting Analysis
There is one thing that is vital to every musician and that is songwriting. Whether they right the songs
or not they must have something original to sing and play before they can even try to be a success.
Songwriting is a craft that almost anyone who really enjoys music has tried his or her hand at. Songs
have the power to inspire, unite, and comfort a person unlike any other form of media. Record
companies are always on the lookout for the next number one single and while some songs are
completely unique and original most of the biggest singles in the past history have all had things in
common that made them so popular. The really good memorable songs of the past have all generally

Rollingstone recently did a list of what they thought to be the one hundred greatest pop hits. By taking
a few songs from this list it is possible to examine some of these characteristics that make a great
song. One of the most memorable and timeless songs in history would have to be Rolling Stones
Satisfaction. In the Rollinstone article they ranked this song as being the second greatest pop song of
all time right under the Beatles Yesterday. This song is centered on a guitar riff that lead guitarist Keith
Richards almost while sleeping. He woke up with the riff in his mind, recorded it on a tape player, and
then immediately fell back asleep. This guitar riff is the hook of the song, which had immediate appeal
and connection for the listener. The hook and immediate mass appeal were two of the techniques
mentioned earlier as a character of a successful song. The song also touched the emotional chord of
the listener with intense lyrics that made cultural commentary in the sixties the song was destined to
be a hit. It was at number one for four weeks, on the charts for fourteen weeks, and was the song that
propelled the Rolling Stones from a decent band into one of the greatest rock bands of all time. An
example of a song that was successful more because of its lyrical content rather than mostly its
musical aspect is Michael Jackson s Billie Jean. The song was one of Jackson s first attempts at

Essay on Reservation Blues by Sherman Alexie
In the novel Reservation Blues, most of the characters struggle with their identity at some point. Victor
has an especially strong urge to rebel against his Native American heritage, which is apparent in his
violent, arrogant demeanor and his obvious problem with alcohol. Victor is tied to his past and has
trouble coping with his life as it is, and is in a constant battle with himself, his surroundings, and other
people. Early in the book, Victor is portrayed as somewhat of a bully, and he and Junior are even
referred to as, two of the most accomplished bullies of recent Native American history. (page 13)
Victor s closest and most meaningful relationship in the book is his friendship with Junior. It s unclear
why Junior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While he may think that drinking is a way to escape being Native American, in actuality, it just
perpetuates the cycle of alcoholism on the reservation. In the early stages of starting the band, it
becomes clear that Victor will be the guitar player. Since Robert Johnson?s guitar seems to be
somewhat evil, and maybe even possessed or cursed by the devil or the Gentleman, it makes sense that
the guitar would end up in Victor?s hands. Victor?s playing of the guitar, along with the cuts and
blisters on his hands, could be a sign of his slipping further away from his culture, and the eventual
suffering and pain that will come from that. Rock and roll seems to be Victor?s escape from life on the
reservation, and in his mind, the only way that he may ever escape it. However, it is mentioned that, ?
Though they always pretended to be the toughest Indian men in the world, they suffered terrible bouts
of homesickness as soon as they crossed the Spokane Indian Reservation border,? (page 61) which
suggests that perhaps Victor is more attached to the reservation and Native American life than he
seems to be.
When Victor was nine years old, he was molested by a priest at a Mission School. Because of his
experience, he distrusts and avoids most aspects of the church. Religion plays little, if any, part in
Victor?s life.
Throughout the book, it became clear that

The National Security Agency Is Too Dependent Upon Cryptology
Our government and military are too dependent upon cryptology to ensure secure and authentic
communication. It is so profound that it led to the creation an entire federal agency, the National

of surveillance came during the First World War and what became of it after all was said and done.

Texas Rebellion Dbq
In 1836, the Texans declared its independence from Mexico. Texas had declared their independence
from Mexico because the Texans had trouble being a part of Mexico and wanted their own
independence because the Texans had objected Mexico s way of governing. The Texans were justified
in declaring their independence, and they were honorable men fighting for their freedom. One reason
is that the government had not exactly listened to the Texans. Another reason is that the Texans should
have a choice for their independence since the original 13 colonies had also declared independence
when they felt they had been treated unfairly. And third, Mexico had not been treating the Texans

Biochar Produced Carbon
Biochar produced from pyrolysis process is known as a chemically and biologically stable form of
carbon because microbes find it very difficult to break down and remain stable in soil for hundreds or
thousands years. The carbon contained in the biochar is not degrading to carbon dioxide (CO2) to the
same extent as untreated organic materials. Hence, biochar can be a very low cost soil amendment
with low carbon sequestration capacity. It can affect in improving the quality of soil, prevent soil
erosion, increases water retention, reduces fertilizer leaching and soil acidity and increases the plant
yield of vegetation grown in biochar amended soil.
Furthermore, biochar slows down the decaying and mineralization of the biological carbon cycle to
establish a carbon sink and a net carbon withdrawal from the atmosphere of 20 percent. Upon
production through pyrolysis, the biochar is applied to soil in order to improve soil health and to boost
the plant growth. As biochar is much more stable than the carbon from the material it is made and it
can remain in soils for hundreds to thousands of years, thus, it has the potential of carbon
sequestration. Besides that, biochar also helps in reducing climate change.
Besides that, biochar has a unique physiochemical structure which can lead to increased soil fertility
and crop yields depending on the type of feedstock material and pyrolysis conditions used to make it.
It is returned to agricultural land so that it can increase the

The Benefits Of The Mozart Effect
The Mozart effect is a study which showed that listening to classical music such as Mozart s
stimulates the brain and can have a positive effect on social, cognitive, and physical skills ( 10
Benefits ). In 1993, Frances H. Rauscher had 36 college age students listen to either: Mozart s Sonata
for Two Pianos in D Major, a relaxation tape, or silence. He then tested their spatial task performance
(Smith). The results showed that students who listened to Mozart s music score increased by 8 9
points. The media had a field day with this and the news spread like wildfire. After the first study was
released, exaggerated claims that Mozart s music increased IQ spread throughout the news. Soon, it
became popularly understood that listening to Mozart would make you smarter (Smith).
Companies jumped at this opportunity and CDs of Mozart s music were marketed with the
scientifically proven ability to increase intellect. Governor Zell Miller of Georgia was so enthralled at
the results of the study that he passed legislation to allocate $105,000 to give a free classical music
tape or CD to every new mother in the state (Dowd, 1). Tennessee followed up by creating similar
legislation and daycare centers in Florida are now required to play classical music. A quick google
search will show millions of results filled with distorted views and opinions over this one study. Even
the original researchers were baffled by how their single study had expanded. Frances Rauscher,

Description of Weather/Climate
So our weather in Iowa has patterns because we have seasons. Our seasons are Winter, Spring,
Summer and Fall. They have a pattern on when they change Winter starts December 22nd, Spring
starts March 22nd, Summer starts June 22nd and Fall starts September 22nd and then the pattern starts
all over again. It depends on what season you are in to determine how cold/hot it will be outside and
how much rain/snow it will get. The seasons change because when the earth is closest to the sun that
is when we have our fall and winter because even tho we are at our closest to the sun our earth is tilted

An abiotic factor at the Katoski Park is the temperature, weather and climate. The abiotic factor affects
the biotic and flora because since abiotic is weather and nonliving things but biotic is living things. A
biotic factor is living things so is just the opposite of abiotic. Examples of this would be animals,
humans, plants etc. anything that is living. We have animals that hibernate in the Winter because they
can t survive in the temperature that winter provides for them so they have to hibernate. But like an
example polar bears can t live in Iowa even though in Iowa we have winter and it is really cold but the
polar bear can t live here because it is not cold enough here and it would die.
Ecosystem The ecosystem that the Katoski Park has is a temperate grassland, temperate woodland,
and a temperate forest. Temperate grassland means grassland that is covered in thick grass.
Here is and example right from the Katoski Park of what a temperate grassland would look like at the
park.
Temperate woodland means less annual rainfall in the summer and is hot in humid but has more
rainfall in the fall.
This is another example of what a temperate woodland would look like in Katoski Park. This picture
was taken right out of Katoski Park.
Temperate forest means broad leaved deciduous trees. The system for this is always changing because
we have different seasons (fall, winter, spring, summer) and in

Analysis Of The Book I m Going At The Beach
Introduction 45 to 60 seconds
Audio
Amy loves to read historical fiction novels. She has collected many of these novels over the years.
One day she hopes to write her own fiction novels. For now, she enjoys writing short fiction as a way
to practice her writing skills.
When Amy writes her fictional short stories she makes sure to include a good plot structure and
exciting characters.
The most fun part for Amy is figuring out what type of conflict she will create for her characters.
She also enjoys demonstrating through her writing how unique her characters are. She does this by
allowing them to speak in dialects specific to their birth place.
For example, in one of her stories, the main character is from New Jersey. So, each time the character
refers to the beach, she says down the shore.
Saying I m going down the shore , instead I m going to the beach, is common among those born in
New Jersey.
Even though her characters do not speak formal English, Amy writes all of her short fiction in formal
academic English.
Build on Introduction 25 to 35 seconds
Ben picked up one of Amy s short stories about residents working together in order to establish a

Because these residents were originally from the Caribbean islands, their dialect varied away from

When quoting from these characters, Amy represents their dialect accurately. As a result, her final
work of fiction is a mixture of formal and informal

other animals. Dams can also stop a stream from drying up, or land from eroding [wearing or washing

ponds. Without the beaver these wildlife don t have a home and they could die. Streams sometimes
wash away too much soil. If soil gets washed away plants won t grow. Beaver dams slow down the

Scout Finch Real Courage
Harper Lee wrote To Kill a Mockingbird at a small town of Maycomb, Alabama, after The Great
Depression. The novel talked about racism, prejudices, and social rules which caused society to be
unfair. Scout Finch is a little girl who is the main character in the novel. Her characteristics are
courageous, equal, and emotional by nature, which make her get many troubles when she first goes to
school. However, she gradually grows up and becomes more mature and understandable through each
chapter by learning and overcoming many troubles in her life. In particular, although Scout s formal
schooling is disappointing, there are many valuable lessons which she learns from real life: empathy, a
real courage, and categorization of people.

There is one type of people in the world no matter what they are from, what they look, and what they
believe. The type of people cannot be classified by the way they live, the way they thought. For
example, white people and black people cannot be categorized two different types of people when
white people bring many disadvantages on black people because they only have different thoughts.
Because all people are human beings, they should be treated equally and respectfully to make the
society become fair. However, in the article To Kill a Mockingbird, Jem said, There s four kinds of
folks in the world. There s the ordinary folks like us and the neighbors, there s the kind like the
Cunninghams out in the woods, the kind like the Ewells down at the dump, and the Negroes. (Lee

background, ancestry, and race. In contrast, Scout thinks categorization in a different way, Naw, Jem, I
think there is just one type of folks, Folks. (Lee304). This quote indicates Scout s perspective that all
people are people regardless of race, background, and ancestry. Jem s categorization of people is
incorrect because he understands people through his own eyes. In addition, he sees many unequal

Assess the extent to which primary rather than secondary...
Assess the extent to which primary rather than secondary impacts are the more serious effects arising
from volcanic eruptions. (30 marks)
A volcano is an earth hazard that occurs on faults between tectonic plates on a destructive boundary
and an eruption is a natural disaster. A primary impact happens immediately after the disaster and
before any response like death or collapsing or destruction of buildings. A secondary impact occurs
later after the disaster, such less farm produce or a reduction in tourism. The severity of these impacts
will differ considerably in a MEDC and LEDC where volcanic eruptions have taken place. These may
be seen in the Mount St. Helen volcano eruption as well as in the Iceland volcanic eruption. They may
also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to its level of development an MEDC will most likely have money or back up to carry out a
proper response scheme which is why secondary impacts in MEDCs are less serious. Another reason
for there being much less secondary impacts in MEDCs is that due to the country s higher GDP per
capita, less people will live near to a volcano as they have enough money to be able to live in a place
where they are less vulnerable to an earth hazard, as the area next to the volcano is less valuable in an
MEDC. People in MEDCs do have a choice of where to live but in countries like Japan many people
live within reach of volcanic eruptions in a dangerous area and these numbers are likely to increase as
world population continues to grow. In LEDCs people often have no choice and are less aware of the
risks. Therefore the primary impacts are more likely to be serious as more people in potential danger
compared to an MEDC where there is less likely to be many people around in the area. However some
volcanic eruptions can cause secondary impacts despite all this, the eruption of the Icelandic volcano
in 2010 caused huge secondary economic impacts all over Europe due to an ash cloud. It was the
largest disruption of air travel since World War Two, caused the BMW plant in Germany to close
down for a month due to lack of parts and cost the European airline industry £130 million a day. This
shows how in MEDCs secondary impacts can be reduced

Middle-Class Life Narrative
On the way to work, I tried not to think about Jacob being engaged, but it was impossible. Questions
filled my head as I stopped at red lights and stop signs. Could he actually propose to someone else if

change my last name back to Blue? Was I going to have to move? I had no clue, but I knew that I
couldn t afford the mortgage on my house by myself and the rest of the bills. I liked the lifestyle I
lived. I drove a Volvo SUV and didn t have a closet full of high dollar clothes, which was perfectly
fine with me because I didn t need all of that. Middle class living was fine with me. I was satisfied
with just having the bills paid. Coming home to a decent house, in a decent neighborhood was

The Day Canada Became a Nation Essay
In World War I, the victory of the Allies was caused by the turning point of a stalemate on the Western
Front of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. It was the Canadians willingness to forgo nationalism in the
interests of efficiency and effectiveness that marked a new (Dickson 40) transition of the ending of
war. Through the second battle of Ypres, the Battle of Aras, and observing the previous bloodbath at
the Battle of The Somme, the Canadian Expeditionary Force (C.E.F) perfected their defense tactics
and techniques to fight in the evolutionary battle that made Canada a nation.

Reasons for the Gap between Social Classes in America
USA is a very big country with a lot of people and the social classes are very important. We can see
that social class plays big part of people s life. Everyday people are working, studying, trying to be
better. Even though right now it s time when everyone has many opportunities in his life, anyway
there is a gap between classes and groups of people with same features. And your background
probably will build your future. And we need to find what kind of class we have right now and look
into these classes. The main idea is that Social Classes still exist and it s most general part of U.S.A
society. There are three reasons why gap between groups still exist. The first reason is that everyone
has different economic status. People divide by groups with same ideas, religion, economic status,
political views, and cultural features. For example in U.S.A we have poor people, very rich people,
and kind of middle people and we can t say that these families are same. People from each group have
different opportunities in education, medicine, and job. If you are from rich family you have more
chance to be succeed in this world, for you it will be much easier unlike someone from poor family.
The children from rich families will get best college or university degree, will find good job, and will
learn how to be rich from their parents. Money for now is very powerful tool in your hand, with
money we can go to our dreams. The statistic shows us that most of people while whole

An Alternative Medication For Diabetes Mellitus
INTRODUCTION
Type two diabetes mellitus (Insulin independent diabetes mellitus) is a metabolic disease characterized
by constant hyperglycemia (Haghani et al, 2016). Elevated blood glucose can cause lasting problems
such as cardiovascular and renal disorders, retinopathy, and poor blood flow (Ríos et al. 2015). The
progression of diabetes mellitus can be avoided or deferred in people with impaired glucose tolerance
by introducing lifestyle changes and/or the use of therapeutic agents. Currently, there are many
medications are used to treat or stop the complications of type two diabetes mellitus.
The purpose of this research is to discuss the use Fenugreek bread (Trigonella foenum graecum) as an
alternative medication for treating type two diabetes mellitus since Fenugreek seeds have a therapeutic
effect on the improvement of diabetic parameters, blood lipids, and has antioxidant effects.
Fenugreek seeds are known for their characteristic smell of soup seasoning and as an ingredient of
Indian curry. The first recorded use of fenugreek dates all the way back to 1500 B.C.E., in ancient
Egypt and across the Middle East and South Asia, the seeds were traditionally used as both a spice and
a medicine (Goldman, 2014). Usually, the seeds are used to treat diabetes, cough, and flatulence, to
increase breast milk secretion, and for anti inflammatory and aphrodisiac effects (Koupý et al., 2015).

The Effect of pH and Temperature on the Efficiency of Catalase
Abstract: In order to determine how pH and temperature affect the liver enzyme catalase, an
experiment was conducted. Catalase breaks apart hydrogen peroxide producing water and oxygen.
Using an O2 sensor to measure how much additional oxygen is added into a sealed Nalgene bottle, we
could determine the enzymes effectiveness. Three variations of temperature were tested: cold, hot and
room temperature. This was done by taking test tubes with the three different samples and placing
them in a Nalgene Bottle. It was determined that the enzyme is most effective when at room
temperature although still functions when it is chilled. The heated sample was drastically less
effective. The pH was tested by adding acid (HCl), base () and neutral (water) to the enzyme. When
the enzyme samples were tested using the hydrogen peroxide and O2 sensor test it was determined

to its function and variation in temperature and pH can denature the enzyme.
Hypothesis:
Part I: Testing the Effect of Heat If the enzyme temperature is decreased then it will not decompose

micrometers in diameter, around the same measurements of smoke particles from cigarettes. The study

Why Women Stay In Violent Relationships Essay
In every nation, individuals have seen or experienced violent relationships at some point in their lives.
Some people even have a pattern of being trapped in violent relationships. Usually, this individuals
that are caught in a love and war relationship are sometimes reluctant to leave. There are many reasons
for this social phenomenon that constantly occurs in violent relationships. According to Seccombe,
Intimate partner violence (IPV) refers to violence between those who are emotionally or sexually

Sociologist have even wondered, A common question is why women stay in an abusive situation
(271). Even though studies show that most of them do leave after a certain amount of time. It seems
there are many factors that keep men and women staying in violent relationships. Seccombe lists
many of them that are still relevant today. One of the tactics that abusers will use is the shaming tactic.
They will shame their victims or in this case, their intimate partners by blaming them for everything.
The abuser will blame their intimate partner for the reasons why the abuser is hitting them in the first
place. As crazy as it sounds, but this is very common in the psychological process of abusers. Another
reason why individuals stay in violent relationships is due to the fact that the victims feel ashamed. In
the psychological process, they feel people will judge them and look down on them. Plus, they are
aware that they are plenty of people who do not have violent relationships so they do not want people
knowing about their own violent relationship. Then, it does not help that the victim s self esteem are
usually low since the abuser has made them believe that they do not deserve a positive happy

The Origin Of The Jews After The Babylonian Exile
The word Diaspora derives from the Greek Diasperien i.e. dia (through) and sperien (to scatter).
According to Webster s dictionary, Diaspora refers to dispersion so we can say that the word
represents a centre called home from where the dispersion occurs. In addition to it the dictionary it
also associates the meaning with the dispersion of the Jews after the Babylonian exile. Thus we get
two meanings of the word Diaspora as a spread of population and a forcible dispersal. However the
term Diaspora doesn t mean any nomadic existence, though it suggests a movement from one place to
another, but it s not a nomadic existence because it is somewhere a journey, however that does not
mean all journey can be understood as that of a Diaspora. As in Diaspora does not mean causal travel,
even though diasporic journeys are mainly about settling down and about having roots elsewhere.
Thus, the concept of Diaspora has different meanings to different people according to their different
circumstances. For instance, when the Jews were exiled from the Babylon, they were uprooted from
their own homes and they had to rebuild their community and culture all over again, for them the
diaspora had different meaning since it was forced. But today the meaning of Diaspora could be
limited to any community of a particular nation outside its own country, sharing some common bonds
that eventually give the community a new identity within their existing identity, it is notable that this

single in Britain, with 1.16 million copies sold there; and at 3 million copies sold worldwide (a claim
which is difficult to verify), which accounts the rise of Factory records (Marley,P 1993). And
unfortunately, due to Factory Records not being a part of the British Phonographic Industry at the time
of Blue Monday s original release, it could not be eligible for an official gold disc.
The packaging of the record had been designed by former label partner and renowned graphic
designer, Peter Saville. He designed a black die cut sleeve that resembled a five inch computer floppy
disk that had a strip of color coded blocks on the right hand side that ... Show more content on

It was a pinnacle in its time and it changed the landscape of music as it was and as it would be.
The song is broadly viewed as a critical connection between Seventies disco and the Dance/House
music boom that took off towards the end of the Eighties. Kick starting the UK dance scene it had a
huge role in opening the pathway of dance music to a new and wide crowd of people.
New Order were one of the few bands to credibly fuse punk and disco being a proponent of
Electroclash (Vine,J no date). Synthpop had been a noteworthy power in British famous music for
quite a while, however Blue Monday was ostensibly the first British dance record to show an
incontestable impact from the New York club scene, principally the work of makers like Arthur Baker
(Ohlsson,M 2008).
This inspiration of the New York disco clubs coupled with their industrial surroundings resulted in a
sound that in turn would later influence Detroit DJs and many other British groups. Consequently,
Blue Monday is regularly seen as a standout amongst the most essential hybrid tracks of the 1980s
popular music scene.

Netflix Is A Good Investment
Executive Summary This report analyzes the company Netflix to determine whether or not it makes a
good investment at this time. Netflix was founded in 1997 in California. The company launched its
website that same year, at the time the company was composed of only 30 employees and had close to
1000 DVD S available to rent. Netflix was one of the first company s to offer rental DVD s on a
monthly subscription basis rather than having to pay per DVD. The year 2007 was a big year for
Netflix and its first step toward its new business model. Netflix moved away from renting DVD s and
instead shifted to video on demand via the Internet. Today, Netflix holds the spot as the world s top
Internet television network; with almost fifty million subscribers in close to fifty nations who enjoy
hours of TV shows and movies every month. (Netflix) A set of criteria is used to analyze Netflix and it
is evaluated that Netflix is a good investment especially due to its aggressive international expansion
strategy. The idea that Netflix is a good investment is determined by analyzing both quantitative and
qualitative aspects of the firm. These different factors allow one to have a strong understanding of the
company s wellbeing. In the qualitative analysis it is discovered that Netflix s Culture, History, and
Strategy are attributes that allow Netflix to differentiate itself from its competitors and gain a
competitive advantage. Another Qualitative aspect is Netflix s presence in terms of

Mao Zedong Impact
In the 1960 s, China s government under Mao Zedong implemented a communist society by using a
set of objectives and policies known as the Cultural Revolution. Mao nationalized private businesses
disrupting the economic state of the people while enforcing his policies using a group of revolutionary
enforcers known as the Red Guard. Mao s focus on strict enforcement of these policies and his
nationalization of businesses dramatically and negatively altered the life of the Chinese citizens. From
1927 to 1949, during China s Civil War, the communists tried to seize control of China during a time
when the communists saw that the system put in by the Qing Dynasty was now outdated and
ineffective. ( China s Cultural Revolution Begins ) By taking ... Show more content on

One way that the Cultural Revolution, started by Mao Zedong, impacted China s economy was that
the Red Guard took out trained workers out of their current jobs in factories and other common and
necessary jobs the government instead put in untrained workers. Because intellectuals were seen as
enemies, revolutionary committees took over the running of Chinese enterprises. Made up of workers,
party members, and soldiers, these committees replaced trained administrators. Engineers and
technicians were dismissed, sent to camps, and sometimes tortured or killed ( China s Cultural
Revolution Begins ).The action of taking out and killing the professional and trained employees and
putting people in who were slowed the production of the goods, including food that affected the life of
the citizens dramatically. The untrained employees did not know how to use the machines to make the
products, leaving them behind and slowly producing what was needed of them for their goods.
Another way the Cultural Revolution impacted the economics of China was the people were left in
poverty for many years during and after the Cultural Revolution. After 1960, given the reality of
famine and a poorly performing economy more generally, the government simply stopped publishing
statistical data on economic performance (Perkins). The government was so embaressed from the
country s poor preforming economy,

  • 2. Batista s Communist Revolution Before the successful revolution in 1959, Cuba had suffered from bad government and corruption of power for nearly the whole first half of the 21st century. Then in 1952 Fulgencio Batista overruled the Cuban government by force and created a one party dictatorship. Batista s cruel political strategies left the country in turmoil, causing Cubans everywhere to live in harsh conditions under a totalitarian state. One of the many citizens unsatisfied with Batista s right wing ways was a young Communist politician named Fidel Castro. After failing to convince the court that Batista had violated the Cuban Constitution, he decided a violent Communist Revolution was the only necessary option to overthrow Batista. Dictatorship was an option because after the failed Moncada Barracks attack, the 26th of July Movement and finally the defeat of Batista in 1959, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even till this year the Cuban regime jails politicians with opposing views. The Bay of Pigs was a fight between Cuban exiles from the US, and the Castro government. This event made Castro even more popular and raised greater tension between the two countries. The US trade embargo was then established on Cuba in 1962. However Castro was still able to stay financially stable and powerful from the increased support from the Soviet Union. For nearly 5 decades Castro s Censorship on media was also said to be one of the most extreme in the western hemisphere. Entertainment such as books, radio, movies and tvs were heavily censored certain privileges were only available to a certain view in the country. Another Dictator strategy he used was destroying private property, by not allowing private businesses to function and also limiting the amount of land one person could own. All these nations including Jerusalem and Judah to serve Babylon 70 years explicitly. 4. Context shows that the serving Babylon for 70 years was compulsory , the calamity and ruin was conditional the people could have served 70 years without suffering the calamity. 5. After 70 years Babylon call to account and suffers similar devastation The Context This is most important in understanding Jeremiah s prophecy, it is in fact the key to how the 70 years is applied. Jer 26:3 Perhaps they will listen and each one will turn back from his evil way, and I will change my mind concerning the calamity that I intend to bring on them because of their evil deeds. The charcoal animation in the intro was inspired by a short film, Puerta Abierta , I made in collaboration with a friend in my experimental video class. The subject matter within this short film was about feeling outcasted as a Mexican American. These themes are veiled behind a narrative; a deer wandering aimlessly throughout an empty house thus feeling out of place. Streamside Day by Pierre Huyghe was a frame of reference here because I was intrigued by the deer stumbling around an empty suburban home and what that could mean in a narrative. Carlos and Lewis s Marketing in the Land of Hudson Bay article explains in great detail the strategies used by the Hudson Bay Company to develop a trading relationship with the Natives, as well as the trends in trading. The article also elucidates that in order to understand its customer s culture and demands, the Hudson Bay Company participated in Native traditions one of which was to present gifts to Native traders before the actual trading. As the importance of this tradition is emphasized in the article as well as the data presented, this paper aims to explore the influence of receiving gifts on trade between the two parties. Gift exchange is a common practice among many countries and many professions. The economists look at gifts as an incentive to increase productivity. This theory is tested and proved in the following two articles. The article Regarding gifts on Christmas gift exchange and asymmetrical business relations by Jeannette Lemmergaard, and Sara Louise Muhr, focuses on the impression the company gifts can make on the business partners during Christmas. The authors argue that corporate gift exchange between business partners at Christmas is an attempt to build personal relationships, as a gift represents social and cultural value than just the economic value. While he may think that drinking is a way to escape being Native American, in actuality, it just perpetuates the cycle of alcoholism on the reservation. In the early stages of starting the band, it becomes clear that Victor will be the guitar player. Since Robert Johnson?s guitar seems to be somewhat evil, and maybe even possessed or cursed by the devil or the Gentleman, it makes sense that the guitar would end up in Victor?s hands. Victor?s playing of the guitar, along with the cuts and blisters on his hands, could be a sign of his slipping further away from his culture, and the eventual suffering and pain that will come from that. Rock and roll seems to be Victor?s escape from life on the reservation, and in his mind, the only way that he may ever escape it. However, it is mentioned that, ? • 15. Biochar Produced Carbon Biochar produced from pyrolysis process is known as a chemically and biologically stable form of carbon because microbes find it very difficult to break down and remain stable in soil for hundreds or thousands years. The carbon contained in the biochar is not degrading to carbon dioxide (CO2) to the same extent as untreated organic materials. Hence, biochar can be a very low cost soil amendment with low carbon sequestration capacity. It can affect in improving the quality of soil, prevent soil erosion, increases water retention, reduces fertilizer leaching and soil acidity and increases the plant yield of vegetation grown in biochar amended soil. Furthermore, biochar slows down the decaying and mineralization of the biological carbon cycle to establish a carbon sink and a net carbon withdrawal from the atmosphere of 20 percent. Upon production through pyrolysis, the biochar is applied to soil in order to improve soil health and to boost the plant growth. As biochar is much more stable than the carbon from the material it is made and it can remain in soils for hundreds to thousands of years, thus, it has the potential of carbon sequestration. Besides that, biochar also helps in reducing climate change. In 1993, Frances H. Rauscher had 36 college age students listen to either: Mozart s Sonata for Two Pianos in D Major, a relaxation tape, or silence. He then tested their spatial task performance (Smith). The results showed that students who listened to Mozart s music score increased by 8 9 points. The media had a field day with this and the news spread like wildfire. After the first study was released, exaggerated claims that Mozart s music increased IQ spread throughout the news. Soon, it became popularly understood that listening to Mozart would make you smarter (Smith). Companies jumped at this opportunity and CDs of Mozart s music were marketed with the scientifically proven ability to increase intellect. Governor Zell Miller of Georgia was so enthralled at the results of the study that he passed legislation to allocate $105,000 to give a free classical music tape or CD to every new mother in the state (Dowd, 1). Tennessee followed up by creating similar legislation and daycare centers in Florida are now required to play classical music. Due to its level of development an MEDC will most likely have money or back up to carry out a proper response scheme which is why secondary impacts in MEDCs are less serious. Another reason for there being much less secondary impacts in MEDCs is that due to the country s higher GDP per capita, less people will live near to a volcano as they have enough money to be able to live in a place where they are less vulnerable to an earth hazard, as the area next to the volcano is less valuable in an MEDC. People in MEDCs do have a choice of where to live but in countries like Japan many people live within reach of volcanic eruptions in a dangerous area and these numbers are likely to increase as world population continues to grow. In LEDCs people often have no choice and are less aware of the risks. Therefore the primary impacts are more likely to be serious as more people in potential danger compared to an MEDC where there is less likely to be many people around in the area. However some volcanic eruptions can cause secondary impacts despite all this, the eruption of the Icelandic volcano in 2010 caused huge secondary economic impacts all over Europe due to an ash cloud. Even though right now it s time when everyone has many opportunities in his life, anyway there is a gap between classes and groups of people with same features. And your background probably will build your future. And we need to find what kind of class we have right now and look into these classes. The main idea is that Social Classes still exist and it s most general part of U.S.A society. There are three reasons why gap between groups still exist. The first reason is that everyone has different economic status. People divide by groups with same ideas, religion, economic status, political views, and cultural features. For example in U.S.A we have poor people, very rich people, and kind of middle people and we can t say that these families are same. People from each group have different opportunities in education, medicine, and job. If you are from rich family you have more chance to be succeed in this world, for you it will be much easier unlike someone from poor family. An Alternative Medication For Diabetes Mellitus INTRODUCTION Type two diabetes mellitus (Insulin independent diabetes mellitus) is a metabolic disease characterized by constant hyperglycemia (Haghani et al, 2016). Elevated blood glucose can cause lasting problems such as cardiovascular and renal disorders, retinopathy, and poor blood flow (Ríos et al. 2015). The progression of diabetes mellitus can be avoided or deferred in people with impaired glucose tolerance by introducing lifestyle changes and/or the use of therapeutic agents. Currently, there are many medications are used to treat or stop the complications of type two diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this research is to discuss the use Fenugreek bread (Trigonella foenum graecum) as an alternative medication for treating type two diabetes mellitus since Fenugreek seeds have a therapeutic effect on the improvement of diabetic parameters, blood lipids, and has antioxidant effects. Liver Enzyme Lab Andra Larade Bio 30 B7 11/20/15 Liver Enzyme Lab The Effect of pH and Temperature on the Efficiency of Catalase Abstract: In order to determine how pH and temperature affect the liver enzyme catalase, an experiment was conducted. Catalase breaks apart hydrogen peroxide producing water and oxygen. Using an O2 sensor to measure how much additional oxygen is added into a sealed Nalgene bottle, we could determine the enzymes effectiveness. Three variations of temperature were tested: cold, hot and room temperature. This was done by taking test tubes with the three different samples and placing them in a Nalgene Bottle. It was determined that the enzyme is most effective when at room temperature although still functions when it is chilled. The heated sample was drastically less effective. The pH was tested by adding acid (HCl), base () and neutral (water) to the enzyme. When the enzyme samples were tested using the hydrogen peroxide and O2 sensor test it was determined that any ... They will shame their victims or in this case, their intimate partners by blaming them for everything. The abuser will blame their intimate partner for the reasons why the abuser is hitting them in the first place. As crazy as it sounds, but this is very common in the psychological process of abusers. Another reason why individuals stay in violent relationships is due to the fact that the victims feel ashamed. In the psychological process, they feel people will judge them and look down on them. According to Webster s dictionary, Diaspora refers to dispersion so we can say that the word represents a centre called home from where the dispersion occurs. In addition to it the dictionary it also associates the meaning with the dispersion of the Jews after the Babylonian exile. For instance, when the Jews were exiled from the Babylon, they were uprooted from their own homes and they had to rebuild their community and culture all over again, for them the diaspora had different meaning since it was forced.
