The Sediments Within The Intertidal Zone
The sediments in the intertidal zone are predominantly composed of silt and clay that display
substantial distribution in grain size distribution due to hydrodynamic and vegetation cover changes,
such as grass, mangroves and other plantations. Sediment pH, total Corg (%) and percentages of sand,
silt and clay obtained from the samples of 13 sampling stations are summarized in Table 2, whilst
sediment pH was in a narrow alkaline range of 7.2 to 8.6. Similarly, Corg varied little from 0.47 to
0.91 %. Such low Corg are consistent to other coastal regions of India (Chatterjee et al. 2007) and
might be the result of marine sedimentation and mixing processes at the sediment water interface
where the rate of delivery, as well as rates of degradation by microbial mediated processes can be high
( Canuel and Martens, 1993). This can be also related to poor absorbability of organics to negatively
charged quartz grains, which predominate in sediments in this estuarine environment (Sarkar et al.,
2004). The sediment samples also showed a variable admixture of sand (0.4 37.4 %), silt (24.4 66.7%)
and clay (26.7 75.1 %). Previous studies demonstrated that fine grained sediments facilitate the
accumulation of heavier metals and organic matter contents (Bayen, 2012; Yu et al., 2012; Zahra et al.,
2014).With respect to texture class, variable erosion and depositions in the study stations along with
vigorous estuarine mixing, suspension resuspension and flocculation deflocculation can

Matsushita Electronic Industrial
Matsushita Electronic Industrial
Pham Thach
Executive summary: Matsushita Electronic Industrial (MEI) is a very successful company in both
Japan and the global in the 1970s and 1980s. MEI s success in this period came from its
diversification of productions, dominance domestic market, unique corporate culture, and divisional
structure in both domestic and international market. However, in 1987, under new circumstances, such
as the change Yen prices, and the pressure of integration of information technologies that need
international transfers, sharing, and synergies, MEI s faced declines in sales and profits because its
structure was exposed some weakness. To overcome these problems, MEI should choose Worldwide
Product Division ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, Matsushita created a small business environment in which all MEI s divisions could
maintain its growth and flexibility. The core of Matsushita s divisional structure was One product One
Division system in which each product line was managed by a separate autonomous division that was
expected to operate as if it were an independent corporation. Corporate management provided division
with initial fund, and the corporate treasury operated essentially like a commercial bank. Divisions
deposit their excess funds and received normal market interest. Request for additional corporate funds
to meet expansion plans were submitted as loan applications to the central finance department. This
organizational system generate a high level of internal competition among divisions, and helped drive
new product development that managers saw as their best way to maintain long term growth and
profitability. The need to fund new product development also drove managers to maximize
performance of existing products.
MEI managed the international business by categorizing its overseas branches and plants into three
groups: The A group, the wholly owned single product global sourcing plants that reported primarily
to the relevant product divisions of MEI and were tightly controlled by them; the B group was the
multi product sales and manufacturing subsidiaries that reported to corporate overseas management
(COM); and the third groups of

The Role Of Ghouls And Their Effects On Society
Humans use to think they the top of the food chains, but they really weren t and never were.. It just
wasn t noticed till later in time. And, Who is above the humans? Ghouls. Creatures that lives only off
human flesh. You would think people would run and hide but they didn t. Why? Because the ghouls
lived among them. The ghouls looked like ordinary humans beings, you could tell no difference at all
until late at night in a dark alley..But some ghouls even trained themselves to be able to eat it to a
certain point without messing up their digestive system. The only people who know how to recognize
ghouls were the ghoul themselves. My name Tohru Sohma, I am17 years old, a freshman in college,
no parents, and no tolerable family. And guess what? I m a ghoul. Let me tell you, being a ghoul
sucks. I don t embrace it at all, unlike some. And I am sure you re thinking don t you have other
ghouls that you know and can befriend? You would think that us, ghouls, would stick together and
helping each other out, but no! I mean, there are certain Wards and ghouls that help out weaklings like
me. Speaking of Wards and weaklings, I live in the 20th Ward, and work at a coffee shop called :RE
with other ghouls, and those ghouls hunted and rationed out meat to the weaklings like me. While they
hunted for the weak like me, I just served coffee and pastries. Touka, the manager, who is also a ghoul,
said I have potential to be like them and help others and that s why she hired and me, blah

to make sure the patient safety and health care needs are met, organize, plan, control, and lead the
employees in their work responsibilities, and keep the company running effectively and comfortably
for all people involved for the success of the organization. The most significant aspect related to
health care management that I would like to gain by taking this course of study would be to learn the
job of a health care professional, and a health care manager while being able to obtain clarity to each
separate function and utilize both the experience and knowledge gained throughout my health care
profession, and how to keep everyone involved an on track in the care of patients health within the
organization. In conclusion the health care field has many steps it goes through on a daily basis so that
the organization can function correctly and effectively. In this paper the four major functions of
management have been identified, and applied to managing others in the industry, the most important

Margaret Thatcher Research Paper
Margaret Thatcher
I am in politics because of the conflict between good and evil, and I believe that in the end good will

Margaret Thatcher not only broke through the glass ceiling she shattered it. Speaking in her honor
Prime Minister David Cameron observed that, at a time when it was difficult for a woman to become a
Member of Parliament, almost inconceivable that one could lead the Conservative Party and, by her
own reckoning, virtually impossible that a woman could become Prime Minister, she did all three .
(history.blog.uk) After a failed bid in 1950 Thatcher was elected Member of Parliament (MP) in 1959
one of just 25 women in a house of 605 men. Thatcher was appointed Secretary of State for
Education and Science in 1970 and in 1975, she defeated Heath in the Conservative Party leadership
election to become Leader of the Opposition and subsequently the first woman to lead a major
political party in The UK. In 1979 Thatcher was elected Prime Minister after winning the general
election. Thatcher was known for having a confrontational approach. One of the leading figures in her
first ministry Jim Prior found it particularly difficult to raise his voice to a woman and engage in the
argumentative style which Thatcher encouraged. For Mr. Prior such behavior was not gentlemanly.

Reflection On My Writing Course At The University Of Dubuque
In my opinion my writing ability before I arrived in this course at the University of Dubuque was fair,
it wasn t outstanding, but it wasn t horrible. My biggest obstacles I faced in this course was coming up
with a good topic to write about. Coming up with a topic you care about and can expand on your ideas
can be a challenge. When learning to write in a more cohesive manner, I think the chapters we took
notes on were very beneficial to improving my writing. It showed me the proper way to write a thesis
and how to compose my papers. I also believe practicing our writing by journaling helped me learn to
write what is going through my mind and it helped me to just learn to get my thoughts and ideas down

Quantitative Study On Quantitative Research Study
Quantitative Study
The article is a quantitative research study. There were three types of data collected in this study. Data
was collected through structured interviews, inter rater and validity data, statistical analysis, and
descriptive data. Interviews took place at the Department of Forensic Psychiatry in Stockholm. A
trained research assistant carried out the interview after receiving preparatory training that consisted of
12 test interviews, under the guidance of the first author. These interviews were instructed to clarify
the exposure information if the interviewee was inconsistent in their response by using other sources
such as (police reports, medical files). The structured interview covered offender and offence specific
information, exposure to alcohol, and illegal and prescribed psychotropic drugs. The inter rater
reliability test was conducted using two raters score information independently from 16 sit in
interviews. Data was calculated using Cohen s k for categorical, nominal data and for continuous data
intra class correlation coefficients (ICCs). The two way ANOVA, random model type, was used to
permit generalization of ICCs to others individual raters. The descriptive data was generated using the
participants age ranging from 17 to 76 years old; including principal clinical diagnoses assigned
according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM IV). However, the Standard Mentel

Social Interview Model
The other day, I stumbled across an interview with a plus sized model on TV. Her name was Tess
Munster and she has become famous for becoming the first size 22 model to sign with a major
modeling agency. Not personally being a fan of the modeling/celebrity world, my excitement was not
very high when I heard this; but she is happy with what she is doing, so congratulations to her. The
interviewer started out by talking about the backlash and negative comments she has received from the
internet about being overweight and a model. (I, personally, have to question the quality of life a
person has who spends most of their spare time on the internet trolling others just to try to make them
feel bad). Munster, during her interview, gave the impression of someone who has come to embrace
the body she has and is very happy with her life. There was one comment that struck a chord with me,
however. The interviewer asked Munster about her thoughts about the health risk factors associated
with excessive weight gain. Munster replied that you do not know what conditions an individual is
going through and health should be a personal issue which does not need to be shared with the public.

to keep healthy, if anything. However, this interview segment was more of a feel good fluff piece of
journalism, so all of the questions were essentially softballs and the interviewer did not press any
harder for answers to that question. Now I am not able to speculate on how healthy or unhealthy of a
lifestyle she may lead, but unfortunately, an individual s personal health has more of an effect on
society than one may

A New, Improved Way to Package Goods for Transport with...
1. Introduction
Liner Shipping developed new ways of packaging goods for transport; their growth has influenced the
global trade. Even during economic crisis there has been tendency to move more and more goods
through this means. Their growth influenced the efficiency of the whole supply chain. The progress of
this trade has been faster than other sectors (Brooks 2000). Global environment of trading is
constantly changing and Geographic concentrations of interlinked business and factories called
clusters are making the trade pattern more difficult to predict. Like all other businesses the Liner
shipping companies are thriving for competitive advantage over their rivals. And this has led to low
freight rate and frequent services. But with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2013). Therefore, liner shipping companies must be extremely careful with ship investment decisions.
Insufficient investment can reduction in market share and may lead to losing market position, while
huge investment may affect the financial stability of the company. (Fan Luo 2013).
These decisions also affect the economy as they affect the global logistics network, especially when
the economy is recovering from the recent financial crisis. Huge investments in the liner shipping
have led to bigger ships and over supply of cargo spaces, which in turn affected the demand supply
equilibrium leading to low freight rate under usage of cargo spaces (Clarkson PLC 2014).
Global container trade(1963 2013) (UNCTAD, 2013, p.23) Liner shipping companies are still
struggling hard with capacity management due to deliveries of ships accounting for 1.3 million TEU.
Most of the companies are reducing their services which enabled them to push through rate increases
temporarily, But the profit margin is still limited (Clarkson PLC 2014). To cope with the market
environment focusing on intense pricing pressure, shipping companies have started to cooperate in
many forms, ranging from slot chartering, vessel sharing, cargo sharing, strategic alliances, mergers
and acquisitions etc. The main reason for alliances is due to the need of cargo volumes in the scale of
operation and to spread the risk associated with investment in the huge vessels.

The Problem Of Child Sexual Abuse Essay
Introduction
Child sexual abuse is one of the most serious public health problems and crimes in the world, resulting
from the interaction of individual, family, social, and cultural factors (Pereda, Guilera, Forns, Gómez
Benito, 2009). In China, there is increasing coverage about some particular cases and increasing
number of reports to All China Women s Federation (ACWF) from only a hundred in second half of
1997 to over 3000 in 2000 (Long, 2007), but it could be believed that the number of cases is
considerably less than the actual crimes. In order to further protect children and prevent CSA, it
should understand the prevalence of CSA in China and explore whether there are some specific
situations in China, such as the rates in cities and rural areas. According to two international meta
analysis research of CSA, the rate of CSA is comparatively lower in some Asian countries (Pereda et
al., 2009; Stoltenborgh, van Ijzendoorn, Euser and Bakermans Kranenburg, 2011). In the two meta
analyses, the number of Chinese studies is higher than that of other Asian countries, so it may be
believed that the CSA problem may be less serious in China than that in other countries. However, it is
still questionable about the rate of the specific abusing type, including the contact CSA and the
penetrative CSA, which may be higher for any gender than that in the international level.

The Effect Of Hyperglycemia On The Brain
It has been long recognized that children with diabetes mellitus onset before age 5 yr have permanent
neurocognitive dysfunction more commonly than aged matched or sibling peers . A recent study
showed that children with diabetes onset before age 7 yr had reduced intellectual performance and
mild central brain atrophy in adulthood when compared with individuals with similar duration of
diabetes but later onset . Because both hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia occur in young children with
type 1 diabetes, it is unlikely that hypoglycemia is the primary cause of this recognized but little
publicized reduction in cognitive function associated with childhood type 1 diabetes in children.
Hyperglycemia is known to adversely affect peripheral nerve structure and function in younger (3 6
months) but not in older rats. Physical and functional damage to peripheral nerves associated with
diabetes is related to increased activity of the polyol pathway . The polyol pathway is a minor pathway
of glucose metabolism that increases the intracellular content of the polyol sorbitol in response to

Inherit The Wind Matthew Brady Character Analysis
Matthew Harrison Brady
Inherit the Wind is a fictionalized account of the Scope Trial. The character of Matthew Harrison
Brady is based on the historical figure of William Jennings Bryan. In the play Inherit the Wind by
Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, Bertram Cates is behind bars, awaiting trial for teaching
evolution. Brady will lead the prosecution, and Henry Drummond will represent the defense. Some
may feel that Brady does not care for Cates, and that Brady only wants publicity. However, I disagree.
I believe he truly cares for others and only wants to help. Matthew Harrison Brady is a great man.
In the play, Brady is admired by many. Reverend Brown tells everybody to get ready! Let us show Mr.
Brady the spirit in which we welcome him (1.1.17). When Brady first comes in, all the townspeople

says, I know it is the great zeal of your faith which makes you utter this prayer! But it is possible to be
overzealous, to destroy that which you hope to save so that nothing is left but emptiness (2.1.66 67).
Finally, Brady stands up for the law. He says, I have come because what has happened in a

Introduction Amino acids are the basic building blocks of the body and sources of energy, like fats and
carbohydrates. They are structurally characterized by the fact that they contain nitrogen (N), whereas
fats and carbohydrates do not. Therefore, only amino acids are capable of forming tissues, organs,
muscles, skin and hair. Chains of amino acid make proteins. Proteins are among the most abundant

Only 20 mL of amino acid was used for both titrations. Around 5mL of HCl was used in the acid
titration of the unknown but only 1.55 mL of base was used for the Basic titration. The table of acidic
and basic titrations is attached where it shows that the amino acid therefore was acidic since it took a
lot more acid than the base for titration. Molar equivalence was calculated using the concentration and
volumes of amino acid and titrants. A graph was plotted which showed two pH value, one at 1.5 and
the other at 0.5. The pH at 1.5 was 2.53 and at 0.5 was 10.15. The pI was then calculated to be 6.34.
The unknown amino acid, AA 01 04, was concluded to be Aspartate or Aspartic acid by examining the
titration curve and pH s at the Molar equivalence.

Gender Socialization
Gender Socialization
Sociology 100
Before a newborn child takes his or her first breath of life outside the mother s womb, he or she is
distinguishable and characterized by gender. A baby is born and the doctor looks at the proud parents
or parent and says three simple words: Its a boy, or Its a girl The baby is brought home and dressed in
clothes that help friends, family and even strangers identify the sex of the child. Baby boys are dressed
in blue and baby girls are dressed in pink. The baby boy may be dressed in a blue jumpsuit with a
football or a baseball glove on it. The baby girl may wear a bow in their hair and flowered pajamas. As
the boy begins to grow, he is given a miniature basketball and a hoop to play with. ... Show more

Another aspect of everyday life that is highly influential in gender socialization is the media. What we
see on television or at the movies, what we read in the newspaper or in magazines, what we see on
billboards or hear on the radio are all very significant on how we form a opinion on gender identity.
Media publishers have very successfully learned to play to an audience and are extremely successful
in communicating with the audience they wish to reach. Advertisers are the biggest example of this
concept. Society is very apt in recognizing images seen in commercials and printed ads and viewing
them as socially acceptable behavior. For example, beer companies will target the twenty to thirty year
old male audiences and include scantily clad women enjoying their favorite beers. Ironically, popular
women magazines also use beautiful women to promote cosmetics and beauty products. Both
examples show the exploitation of female images in society. It is this societal ignorance that clouds the
mind and allows the images to continue to influence what we believe to be socially acceptable. And
when society is presented with something or someone out of the ordinary, which doesn t follow what
we deem to be correct, we rebel and try to modify it to our socially acceptable standards.

A Report On Pneumonia Vaccine
Pneumonia Vaccine Policies in Kenya
Tram Nguyen
Arizona State University Pneumonia Vaccine Policies in Kenya Pneumonia is a form of acute
respiratory infection which is caused by a bacterium called Streptococcus pneumoniae. Pneumonia is
transmitted via air borne droplets from coughing and sneezing, and it may also spread through blood.
In 2015, pneumonia killed 15 percent of all deaths in children under the age of five, becoming the
leading cause of death in children all over the world (World Health Organization [WHO], 2015a).
Many efforts were made to reduce the prevalence of pneumonia, including the free vaccination
program in 2011 against pneumonia in Kenya, which is supported by WHO and GAVI Alliance
(WHO, 2015b). However, in 2012, Kenya was still ranked among the 15 countries with the highest
number of deaths caused by pneumonia, suggesting problems with the current policies (Onyango,
Kikuvi, Amukoye, Omolo, 2012). This paper will evaluate these existing policies and discuss potential
solutions to overcome the epidemic of pneumonia in Kenya.

Examples Of Betrayal In The Kite Runner
The kite runner features many examples of betrayal, be that choosing to betray, or choosing not to
betray. A lot of characters in this novel have to make tough decisions based on do they want to betray
someone, or not. there are also different ways to betray someone, many of which we see in this work
of realistic fiction. some of the most important examples of betrayal are Amir s actions, and inactions,
towards Hassan, and the secret that Baba has kept hidden, and Assef with his betrayals to Iran as well
as earlier on, his mother. on the other hand, is Hassan who had opportunities to betray Amir, and did
not. Amir is an unpopular character for many reasons, but he is most disliked for his actions in regards
to Hassan, the innocent cinnamon roll that he is. the two main things he does to betray Hassan are
when he does not stand up and protect Hassan against Assef s sexual assault, and false accusations
against Hassan for theft. the sexual assault, which takes place at the end of chapter seven, was even
more heartbreaking because amir, who had been there hiding for most of the confrontation
contemplating what was more important, saving Hassan from the sadistic hands of Assef and possibly
losing the kite, or doing nothing and getting the kite, but letting Assef hurt Hassan. Amir,
unfortunately, chose to betray Hassan and leave him in the clutches of Assef, rationalizing that the kite
will make his father even prouder of him, and therefore earning his love. After this, Amir

Second Wave Feminism In The 1980 s
Our visual narrative on women of the 1980 s focused on fitness and women s increased interest in
exercise and the sexual female body. Using images from the popular women s magazine Cosmopolitan
in 1985, the visual narrative attempts to demonstrate the various aspects of the 1980 s fitness craze
and emphasis on the strong, healthy, sexual female body, or the better body, as often noted by many
Cosmopolitan articles. Seeking to provide context for the fitness craze and images shown throughout
women s magazines of the 1980 s, this narrative references the second wave feminist movement of the
1960 s and 1970 s in the United States for an explanation. Summarizing second wave feminism in its
early years, author J. Zeitz describes the movement: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Statements like better yourself and you ll soon learn to love your mirror presented next to strong,
smiling women implies a healthy, energetic, and attractive life as consequential to having a better
body and exercising (Cosmopolitan). This supports the cultural ideas that arose in the 1980 s due to
the women s movement in the 1960 s and 1970 s, which include notions like it is no longer considered
socially shocking or selfish for girls and women to work for their own independence and satisfaction
rather than for that of their male partners; or for females to kick ass just as much as males (Bowden).
These new thoughts on women are significant because prior to the movement, it was a widely held
belief that men naturally possess a stronger sex drive than women (or women s sexuality is more
repressed than men s), making coercive sexual activity normal ; and sexuality is focused around
penetration and male pleasure (anything else is foreplay ) (Bowden). This belief was supported in part
due to nineteenth century doctor William Acton s sexual advice book Functions and Disorders of the
Reproductive Organs, which summed up the medical literature on women s sexuality by saying that
the majority of women (happily for them) are not very much troubled with sexual feelings of any kind.

Nazi Oppression Of Sports In The 1936 Summer Olympics
The 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany was a key moment whereby African American and
Jews used sports to politically challenge the Nazi ideology of Aryan supremacy and non Aryan
inferiority. Paul Taylor argues that sports is one of the most powerful weapons in the hands of those
suffering under racial prejudice or political oppression. During the 1936 Olympics, Hitler dialed down
the anti Semitic propaganda due to international pressures, but in official Nazi sporting hand books it
specifically targeted Jews and African American s as being physically inferior to the Aryan race as
they lacked athletic ability. Also, Nazi theorists like Kurt Munch claimed that Jews and Blacks were
feeble athletes and had never achieved any success in athletics. The creator of the Olympic games,
Baron Pierre de Coubertin, believed that the Olympic games encouraged people to look beyond the
interests they had in common by bringing the best athletes from every country, culture, and race, and
giving them a platform where they could earn respect and admiration based on skill and not race,
creed, or nationality. Although, African Americans and Jews did not voice their political beliefs they
used their athletic skill and would have acquired praise from Coubertin because they directly
challenged Hitler s ideology that non Aryan s were inferior. Jessie Owens, who was a famous African
American sprinter, fought back against Hitler s racial stereotypes of Blacks by winning four gold
medals

For thousands of years, many cultural traditions have stood uninterrupted by one another. As culture
inevitably changed, societies remained respected. However, with the influence of globalization in
recent centuries, change has become intertwined with conflict. In many instances, a natural change is
not enough. When two societies collide, acculturation can occur, as members of the weaker society
acquire aspects of the dominant society. Despite acculturation s oppressive nature, dominant cultures
may seek the complete eradication of the other: genocide. An excerpt from The Convention on the
Prevention and Punishment of Genocide officially defined genocide: In the present Convention,

Before understanding how gravely women have been treated, we must first comprehend how the
ethnic crisis in Darfur occurred. Darfur is a region in Western Sudan, with a population of nearly six
million people. In 1896, the British staged a colonial invasion of Sudan, hoping to carry out their
discriminatory world views of European domination. According to Savo Heleta (2007, 4) the British
administration heavily invested in the north, modernizing and liberalizing political and economic
institutions and improving social, educational, and health services... . With focus in the North, the
British created a Sudanese government that has never recuperated from colonial policy and impact.
Centered in Khotoum, the government was set up without regards for previous ethnic differences that
had been present in the country for centuries. The British followed through with a divide and rule
policy; a policy which established a division between Muslim Arabs and African Blacks. A few elite
(namely, African Blacks who were converted to Christianity) were put into power by the colonists,
creating a great unequal distribution of privilege. Tensions continued to rise between the Muslim
Arabs and African Blacks, especially when the colonists left. In 1989, General Omar Bashir overthrew
Sudan by a military coup. The National Islamic Front government, now in power, stirred deeper
cultural conflict. Wanting total political control and to showcase

Government Is An Instrument Of The State Essay
At times confuse is made among state and Government and the two words are used on the other hand.
Government is an instrument of the state through which it does its inspirations. A state, as we have
seen, is a politically dealt with and geographically obliged collection of people that has the benefit to
use constrain. It is a reasonable substance in this manner ought to have an instrument through which to
work. Government is such an instrument. Each one of the nationals of a state are not part of a
government (Shobeiri, S. M. 2007). It s Forms: Governments may take a couple of structures. In
history, there have appeared to be many sorts of government. Aristotle had given a six wrinkle
portrayal of governments three standard and three degraded sorts of government. The three common
sorts of government will be government, control by one individual; advantaged, led by a couple;
nation, oversee by various. In case these ordinary structures are contorted, government gets the
opportunity to be persecution, nobility gets the chance to be religious government and country gets the
chance to be vote based framework. Political Parties: Political social affairs have ended up being vital
associates of government in present day times. They are the instruments whereby hopefuls are doled
out and picked. Notwithstanding the way that they are not official affiliations made by the state, they

Stereotypes Against The Biker Community
There is a certain freedom that comes with riding down a long highway at eighty miles per hour on a
Harley Davidson. That kind of freedom is something that only a minority of society chooses to
indulge in, while another minority looks down upon them and chastises them for their decisions. All
bikers are bad news and the scum of society they say as they sit in their easy chair reading shakespeare
and sipping tea. Even to this day, there is a stigma held against the biker community that they are all
just a bunch of trouble makers and beer drinkers that live outside the laws. Being a man who has been

Organizations such as the Patriot Guard Riders attend fallen veterans funerals and other public
national events. Even the outlaw motorcycle clubs such as the Hells Angels put on toy runs and

to the fact that there exist many Christian motorcycle clubs, in which members are brought together
through a love and devotion to God. One could argue that organizations and clubs do this simply to
cover up their criminal activities, but I would argue that the biker community doesn t care at all what
the public thinks of them. That is the mentality of a biker, thus they would have no need to cover up
their crimes. Many motorcycle clubs even put on shows for the public and host entire rallies, and a
good portion of that money goes directly to

Racial Segregation During The 1960 s Civil Rights...
A primary technique used to overcome racial segregation during the 1960 s Civil Rights Movement in
the United States was direct action. One of the most influential leaders of the Civil Rights Movement
was Martin Luther King Junior who is known for his use of nonviolent direct action, which often
entailed the violation of laws as an act of civil disobedience. On April 16, 1963, King composed his
Letter from Birmingham Jail, where he accepted the consequences for his disobedience against the
Birmingham law which forbids one to parade without a permit. In the letter, King explains the intent
of nonviolent direct action, and that although his actions broke the law, this particular act of civil
disobedience may be morally justified because the law itself was unjust. In fact, King held a high
respect for the supreme law of the United States the Constitution as it grants equal protection of all
under the law. It was the specific laws throughout the nation which promoted racial segregation that
King found to be unjust and required direct action to be overturned. With reference to his Letter from
Birmingham Jail, I will explain King s concept of the nature and purpose of nonviolent direct action
and its relation to civil disobedience, as well as why in order for nonviolent direct action to fulfill its
purpose, humans must have the capacity to embrace their natural senses of justice and sympathy in
order to suppress their self interests in favor of justice.

The Usefulness Of Study Of Bank Cost And Efficiency
Comment on the usefulness of study of bank cost and efficiency in evaluating bank performance.
Introduction
From the very beginning of the bank history, we already know that the main operation of bank is to
take loan and to make deposit. Since the first bank established in 12th century, bank is no more a
simple institution where we exchange money but an agency considered to be speculative and hopeful.
There is no doubt that the prosperity in modern society benefits a lot from the development of
commercial activities, where bank plays a main role in. People make money through work or

bank liquidity. Those indicators are lines play role like fire alarm for the commercial banks to watch
out the dangerous at any moment.
Except being alert to those highly explored risks, what commercial banks concern about is the profit.
Today, in order to make business more efficient, it is a wise choice for both banks and other kinds of
companies to do financing and list practice. With this important step, banks acquire more powerful
support to develop branches into a wider scale market: running global business, like HSBC. From the
other hand, this can be a unprecedent challenge to the local banks. The main reason why big
companies are successful is they do know how to function the business skillful. Works are separated
into small pieces and more professional staff are hired to solve special problems. This can be an
advantage that local banks lack. Competition makes it clear that local banks have to find their own
advantage to survive in the crucial game.
Other competition from financial institution
Even some big companies start to provide relative banking services. Countless financial derivatives
also consist as a main part in banking.
Although in the textbook the main assumption is without mortgage, which means that it does not

  • 2. The Sediments Within The Intertidal Zone The sediments in the intertidal zone are predominantly composed of silt and clay that display substantial distribution in grain size distribution due to hydrodynamic and vegetation cover changes, such as grass, mangroves and other plantations. Sediment pH, total Corg (%) and percentages of sand, silt and clay obtained from the samples of 13 sampling stations are summarized in Table 2, whilst sediment pH was in a narrow alkaline range of 7.2 to 8.6. Similarly, Corg varied little from 0.47 to 0.91 %. Such low Corg are consistent to other coastal regions of India (Chatterjee et al. 2007) and might be the result of marine sedimentation and mixing processes at the sediment water interface where the rate of delivery, as well as rates of degradation by microbial mediated processes can be high ( Canuel and Martens, 1993). This can be also related to poor absorbability of organics to negatively charged quartz grains, which predominate in sediments in this estuarine environment (Sarkar et al., 2004). The sediment samples also showed a variable admixture of sand (0.4 37.4 %), silt (24.4 66.7%) and clay (26.7 75.1 %). Previous studies demonstrated that fine grained sediments facilitate the accumulation of heavier metals and organic matter contents (Bayen, 2012; Yu et al., 2012; Zahra et al., 2014).With respect to texture class, variable erosion and depositions in the study stations along with vigorous estuarine mixing, suspension resuspension and flocculation deflocculation can ... Matsushita Electronic Industrial Matsushita Electronic Industrial Pham Thach Executive summary: Matsushita Electronic Industrial (MEI) is a very successful company in both Japan and the global in the 1970s and 1980s. MEI s success in this period came from its diversification of productions, dominance domestic market, unique corporate culture, and divisional structure in both domestic and international market. However, in 1987, under new circumstances, such as the change Yen prices, and the pressure of integration of information technologies that need international transfers, sharing, and synergies, MEI s faced declines in sales and profits because its structure was exposed some weakness. Therefore, Matsushita created a small business environment in which all MEI s divisions could maintain its growth and flexibility. The core of Matsushita s divisional structure was One product One Division system in which each product line was managed by a separate autonomous division that was expected to operate as if it were an independent corporation. Corporate management provided division with initial fund, and the corporate treasury operated essentially like a commercial bank. Divisions deposit their excess funds and received normal market interest. Request for additional corporate funds to meet expansion plans were submitted as loan applications to the central finance department. This organizational system generate a high level of internal competition among divisions, and helped drive new product development that managers saw as their best way to maintain long term growth and profitability. The need to fund new product development also drove managers to maximize performance of existing products. MEI managed the international business by categorizing its overseas branches and plants into three groups: The A group, the wholly owned single product global sourcing plants that reported primarily to the relevant product divisions of MEI and were tightly controlled by them; the B group was the multi product sales and manufacturing subsidiaries that reported to corporate overseas management (COM); and the third groups of ... It just wasn t noticed till later in time. And, Who is above the humans? Ghouls. Creatures that lives only off human flesh. You would think people would run and hide but they didn t. Why? Because the ghouls lived among them. The ghouls looked like ordinary humans beings, you could tell no difference at all until late at night in a dark alley..But some ghouls even trained themselves to be able to eat it to a certain point without messing up their digestive system. The only people who know how to recognize ghouls were the ghoul themselves. My name Tohru Sohma, I am17 years old, a freshman in college, no parents, and no tolerable family. And guess what? I m a ghoul. Let me tell you, being a ghoul sucks. I don t embrace it at all, unlike some. And I am sure you re thinking don t you have other ghouls that you know and can befriend? You would think that us, ghouls, would stick together and helping each other out, but no! I mean, there are certain Wards and ghouls that help out weaklings like me. Speaking of Wards and weaklings, I live in the 20th Ward, and work at a coffee shop called :RE with other ghouls, and those ghouls hunted and rationed out meat to the weaklings like me. While they hunted for the weak like me, I just served coffee and pastries. Touka, the manager, who is also a ghoul, said I have potential to be like them and help others and that s why she hired and me, blah ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Speaking in her honor Prime Minister David Cameron observed that, at a time when it was difficult for a woman to become a Member of Parliament, almost inconceivable that one could lead the Conservative Party and, by her own reckoning, virtually impossible that a woman could become Prime Minister, she did all three . (history.blog.uk) After a failed bid in 1950 Thatcher was elected Member of Parliament (MP) in 1959 one of just 25 women in a house of 605 men. Thatcher was appointed Secretary of State for Education and Science in 1970 and in 1975, she defeated Heath in the Conservative Party leadership election to become Leader of the Opposition and subsequently the first woman to lead a major political party in The UK. In 1979 Thatcher was elected Prime Minister after winning the general election. Thatcher was known for having a confrontational approach. One of the leading figures in her first ministry Jim Prior found it particularly difficult to raise his voice to a woman and engage in the argumentative style which Thatcher encouraged. Reflection On My Writing Course At The University Of Dubuque In my opinion my writing ability before I arrived in this course at the University of Dubuque was fair, it wasn t outstanding, but it wasn t horrible. My biggest obstacles I faced in this course was coming up with a good topic to write about. Coming up with a topic you care about and can expand on your ideas can be a challenge. When learning to write in a more cohesive manner, I think the chapters we took notes on were very beneficial to improving my writing. It showed me the proper way to write a thesis and how to compose my papers. • 10. Quantitative Study On Quantitative Research Study Quantitative Study The article is a quantitative research study. There were three types of data collected in this study. Data was collected through structured interviews, inter rater and validity data, statistical analysis, and descriptive data. Interviews took place at the Department of Forensic Psychiatry in Stockholm. A trained research assistant carried out the interview after receiving preparatory training that consisted of 12 test interviews, under the guidance of the first author. These interviews were instructed to clarify the exposure information if the interviewee was inconsistent in their response by using other sources such as (police reports, medical files). The structured interview covered offender and offence specific information, exposure to alcohol, and illegal and prescribed psychotropic drugs. The inter rater reliability test was conducted using two raters score information independently from 16 sit in interviews. Data was calculated using Cohen s k for categorical, nominal data and for continuous data intra class correlation coefficients (ICCs). The two way ANOVA, random model type, was used to permit generalization of ICCs to others individual raters. • 11. Social Interview Model The other day, I stumbled across an interview with a plus sized model on TV. Her name was Tess Munster and she has become famous for becoming the first size 22 model to sign with a major modeling agency. Not personally being a fan of the modeling/celebrity world, my excitement was not very high when I heard this; but she is happy with what she is doing, so congratulations to her. The interviewer started out by talking about the backlash and negative comments she has received from the internet about being overweight and a model. (I, personally, have to question the quality of life a person has who spends most of their spare time on the internet trolling others just to try to make them feel bad). Munster, during her interview, gave the impression of someone who has come to embrace the body she has and is very happy with her life. There was one comment that struck a chord with me, however. The interviewer asked Munster about her thoughts about the health risk factors associated with excessive weight gain. Munster replied that you do not know what conditions an individual is going through and health should be a personal issue which does not need to be shared with the public. ... Now I am not able to speculate on how healthy or unhealthy of a lifestyle she may lead, but unfortunately, an individual s personal health has more of an effect on society than one may ... Even during economic crisis there has been tendency to move more and more goods through this means. Their growth influenced the efficiency of the whole supply chain. The progress of this trade has been faster than other sectors (Brooks 2000). Global environment of trading is constantly changing and Geographic concentrations of interlinked business and factories called clusters are making the trade pattern more difficult to predict. Like all other businesses the Liner shipping companies are thriving for competitive advantage over their rivals. And this has led to low freight rate and frequent services. But with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2013). Therefore, liner shipping companies must be extremely careful with ship investment decisions. Insufficient investment can reduction in market share and may lead to losing market position, while huge investment may affect the financial stability of the company. (Fan Luo 2013). These decisions also affect the economy as they affect the global logistics network, especially when the economy is recovering from the recent financial crisis. Huge investments in the liner shipping have led to bigger ships and over supply of cargo spaces, which in turn affected the demand supply equilibrium leading to low freight rate under usage of cargo spaces (Clarkson PLC 2014). Global container trade(1963 2013) (UNCTAD, 2013, p.23) Liner shipping companies are still struggling hard with capacity management due to deliveries of ships accounting for 1.3 million TEU. Most of the companies are reducing their services which enabled them to push through rate increases temporarily, But the profit margin is still limited (Clarkson PLC 2014). • 16. The Problem Of Child Sexual Abuse Essay Introduction Child sexual abuse is one of the most serious public health problems and crimes in the world, resulting from the interaction of individual, family, social, and cultural factors (Pereda, Guilera, Forns, Gómez Benito, 2009). In China, there is increasing coverage about some particular cases and increasing number of reports to All China Women s Federation (ACWF) from only a hundred in second half of 1997 to over 3000 in 2000 (Long, 2007), but it could be believed that the number of cases is considerably less than the actual crimes. In order to further protect children and prevent CSA, it should understand the prevalence of CSA in China and explore whether there are some specific situations in China, such as the rates in cities and rural areas. According to two international meta analysis research of CSA, the rate of CSA is comparatively lower in some Asian countries (Pereda et al., 2009; Stoltenborgh, van Ijzendoorn, Euser and Bakermans Kranenburg, 2011). In the two meta analyses, the number of Chinese studies is higher than that of other Asian countries, so it may be believed that the CSA problem may be less serious in China than that in other countries. However, it is still questionable about the rate of the specific abusing type, including the contact CSA and the penetrative CSA, which may be higher for any gender than that in the international level. • 18. The Effect Of Hyperglycemia On The Brain It has been long recognized that children with diabetes mellitus onset before age 5 yr have permanent neurocognitive dysfunction more commonly than aged matched or sibling peers . A recent study showed that children with diabetes onset before age 7 yr had reduced intellectual performance and mild central brain atrophy in adulthood when compared with individuals with similar duration of diabetes but later onset . Because both hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia occur in young children with type 1 diabetes, it is unlikely that hypoglycemia is the primary cause of this recognized but little publicized reduction in cognitive function associated with childhood type 1 diabetes in children. Hyperglycemia is known to adversely affect peripheral nerve structure and function in younger (3 6 months) but not in older rats. Physical and functional damage to peripheral nerves associated with diabetes is related to increased activity of the polyol pathway . Molar equivalence was calculated using the concentration and volumes of amino acid and titrants. A graph was plotted which showed two pH value, one at 1.5 and the other at 0.5. The pH at 1.5 was 2.53 and at 0.5 was 10.15. The pI was then calculated to be 6.34. Another aspect of everyday life that is highly influential in gender socialization is the media. What we see on television or at the movies, what we read in the newspaper or in magazines, what we see on billboards or hear on the radio are all very significant on how we form a opinion on gender identity. Media publishers have very successfully learned to play to an audience and are extremely successful in communicating with the audience they wish to reach. Advertisers are the biggest example of this concept. Society is very apt in recognizing images seen in commercials and printed ads and viewing them as socially acceptable behavior. For example, beer companies will target the twenty to thirty year old male audiences and include scantily clad women enjoying their favorite beers. Ironically, popular women magazines also use beautiful women to promote cosmetics and beauty products. Both examples show the exploitation of female images in society. It is this societal ignorance that clouds the mind and allows the images to continue to influence what we believe to be socially acceptable. During the 1936 Olympics, Hitler dialed down the anti Semitic propaganda due to international pressures, but in official Nazi sporting hand books it specifically targeted Jews and African American s as being physically inferior to the Aryan race as they lacked athletic ability. Also, Nazi theorists like Kurt Munch claimed that Jews and Blacks were feeble athletes and had never achieved any success in athletics. The creator of the Olympic games, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, believed that the Olympic games encouraged people to look beyond the interests they had in common by bringing the best athletes from every country, culture, and race, and giving them a platform where they could earn respect and admiration based on skill and not race, creed, or nationality. Although, African Americans and Jews did not voice their political beliefs they used their athletic skill and would have acquired praise from Coubertin because they directly challenged Hitler s ideology that non Aryan s were inferior. In the letter, King explains the intent of nonviolent direct action, and that although his actions broke the law, this particular act of civil disobedience may be morally justified because the law itself was unjust. In fact, King held a high respect for the supreme law of the United States the Constitution as it grants equal protection of all under the law. It was the specific laws throughout the nation which promoted racial segregation that King found to be unjust and required direct action to be overturned. With reference to his Letter from Birmingham Jail, I will explain King s concept of the nature and purpose of nonviolent direct action and its relation to civil disobedience, as well as why in order for nonviolent direct action to fulfill its purpose, humans must have the capacity to embrace their natural senses of justice and sympathy in order to suppress their self interests in favor of justice. • 34. A Good Day For Cyclists Painted By Sarah Tynan A Good Day for Cyclists painted by Sarah Tynan, which is a hen harrier carrying a Range Rover as its prey. Jeremy Deller calls this piece English magic. A hen harrier, which is a rare bird species in the UK. While Prince Harry and a friend of his was grouse hunting, someone in the public witnessed a pair of these birds being shot at out of the sky. After investigating the situation, the case was dropped because they could not find the carcasses of the hen harriers (Sayre, 2016). I believe this art piece with the hen harrier carrying a red Range Rover represents the hen harrier getting revenge or retaliation on the Royal family. Because of their status and power, I believe they think they are above the law. The authorities dropped the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Wildlife Biologist Application Essay Wiping sweat off my forehead, I stand up excitedly. The paw prints on the ground are fresh I have almost located them. Jumping back into the beat up pick up truck, I follow the increasingly loud beeping of the radio telemetry set until I spot the pack just fifty yards in front of me. Quietly, I climb out of the vehicle, and momentarily stare in awe at the small pack of gray wolves I have been tracking for hours in the wilderness of Montana. My field pants are speckled with briars and a few stray leaves cling to my backpack and one even dangles at the end of my braided hair. I observe the wolves, noticing the behavior of each member, record various data of the current area, and save the point in my GPS. Having successfully completed the ... I desire to study mammals and the effects of climate change on populations and biodiversity. The issues of climate change are growing increasingly prominent, and I want to dedicate my career to mitigating these negative effects and promoting conservation. As a wildlife biologist, I plan on spending a myriad of days in the field, observing animals close hand in their natural habitat. I am most intrigued by medium or large mammals in the northwestern United States, and hope to study species like gray wolves, grizzly and black bears, foxes, Canada lynxes, cougars, and porcupines, among others. In addition to field work, this occupation involves some time analyzing data, working in a lab, and writing research reports and papers. Also, much of the work accomplished includes cooperation with others, and I look forward to working with those that share similar passions as me. It is far from a luxurious life, with many nights spent in cabins or camping in the wilderness, waving pesky flies away from one s head, and trekking miles through heavily wooded forests, but these elements of the career only inspire my passion further, as I love spending time outdoors and cherishing ...
