Pros And Cons Of Kevin Durant Leaving Oklahoma City
NBA article NBA fans still shocked about Kevin Durant leaving Oklahoma City and how much hate
he is getting from all his fans and the community of NBA basketball. LeBrone James still thinks
Cleveland cavaliers should trade more players even when they recently had Kyle Korver. LeBrone
also thinks he can keep functioning Cleveland without Kevin Love on the team. We the community do
not like the way NBA players move teams and leaving their old team into the dust. Many players like
Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose and Kyle Korver have left their team to join a new one.
Kevin Durant lost the semi finals in 2016 against golden state warriors and in 2017 he joined golden
state warriors. He said if you can t beat them, join them. That left a lot of hate from his teammates and
his fans. At this moment we burned all our jerseys on Kevin because of how much we hate him for
what he did. Same with other players, it s really hard to see our favourite players leave their team. ...

NBA tickets are at least $50 $80, but not with the New York Knicks. Their tickets are at least over
$120 per ticket. Its probably because they had paid too much for Derrick Rose and Justine Holiday. It
becomes really hard for Knicks fans to see their games. The Knicks should drop their price for their
tickets like everyone else to at least $60. Even the biggest team in the league Cleveland cavaliers are
selling tickets for $48. The lowest ranking team in the NBA is the Charlotte Hornets and their tickets

Cognitive Therapy for Personality Disorders
Part I: Provide a brief statement that clearly defines the term: Schema; and, an explanation of how
they are developed. A schema is a cognitive pattern or structure comprised of beliefs and perceptions.
Worldview is a type of schema, which can be formed by cultural cues, family socialization, and
identity. Schemas can change over time, and they can be helpful for organizing the complex world.
Some schemas are helpful in that they anchor the mind and emotions in the midst of an overwhelming
amount of information and stimuli in the environment. However, schemas can easily become
maladaptive. Examples of how schemas become maladaptive are most noticeable with regards to
stereotyping, biases, and paranoia. Abuse and trauma can significantly and adversely impact an
individual s schemata. Conflicting schemata can also lead to experiences of cognitive dissonance or
confused identity. Part II: Statement of how the themes that are evident in the client s presenting
problems contribute to the client s level of distress. Identify two Schema Domain (Young, 1998) that
are evident in the client s presentation. Jordan s severe separation anxiety stemmed from infancy. This
indicates that Jordan was from the start developing a maladaptive schema rooted in the domain of
Abandonment/Instability. Jordan was also difficult to comfort, and irritable, which Young (1998)
frames as part of the Abandonment/Instability domain. The early formative experiences in Jordan s
life were not addressed or

Using Creative Problem Solving Assignment Analysis
Using Creative Problem Solving:
It is very challenging to be creative while you are under immense pressure. I know this far too well
while working on various political campaigns. My responsibilities as Absentee Ballot Coordinator
required me to be creative as possible encouraging and collecting absentee ballots within a specific
timeframe. While working on Delegate Anderson s campaign, I had to engineer a way to deploy the
greatest amount of absentee ballots while maintaining an aggressive program to ensure these ballots
were successfully submitted in before the deadline. I had immense pressure on me and my program as
I was reminded how the delegate squeezed victory from defeat in his first election because of absentee
voting. I do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was an amazing thing as it would be the first time I had complete control over the operations of a
political campaign. This election was slated to happen by way of a special election as the sitting
Supervisor was up for a Judgeship and thusly had to vacate his political position. Knowing the sitting
Supervisor would have to vacate his position immediately after confirmation by the State Legislature
and understanding Prince William County s rule about having to fill a vacant Board seat within 60
days, I understood that we had a very small window to officially campaign for the seat. I had to make
sure we fundraised well, had the right materials, staff, and volunteers, acquired key business and
political backing, and had established a high name ID before the State did Judge confirmations. This
would allow for a smooth and effective roll out of the Jacob s Campaign that would ultimately secure
victory. Thinking this process would only last around four months; I budgeted and created a campaign
strategy for this time frame. The problem came within the State Government. July 1st, 2014 was the
deadline the State Legislature had to pass a budget or the Virginia Government would shut down. This
budget would include funding for new state judges thus allowing judicial appointments to occur
igniting our race.

Volatile Organic Compounds Lab Report
Abstract: The purpose of this lab is to figure out the percentage of sodium chloride in each barrel of
solution such that disposal cannot surpass five percent per liter, but also identify the volatile organic
compounds found in these barrels. The first experiment will test that the example factory misplaced 25
barrels full of sodium chloride solution, however, five of them contain hazardous material that needs
to be disposed properly. The scenario for the second experiment consists of another issue to resolve
with the arrival of unmarked volatile organic compounds. These organic compounds are problematic
because this can threaten workers as well as negligence of searching for proper disposal. In this lab,

Email Content Filtering Is The Fastest Means Of...
Introduction to Email Content Filtering
Email is the fastest means of communication among businesses. It is even faster than the faxing.
Email facilitates the exchange of information, keeps lowest communication costs and provides
flexibility to connect globally without any barriers (Sheahan 2015). Email in businesses could be used
for marketing purposes, intra company communication and coordinating with business suppliers,
partners and customers (Acevedo 2015).
Each day, it is found that all over the world 89 billion business emails are sent and received, and is
researched that 72.5 percent traffic of email is spam, whereas malicious files were found to account
for 3.4 per cent of all emails (Kaspersky Lab 2012)..

Other problems are DoS (Denial of service) attack, URL spoofing, man in the middle or sniffing, back
door, e mail bombing, etc (Bagnall et al. 2000).
Email content filtering is one of the 35 mitigation strategies as suggested by Australian signals
Directorate (ASD 2014) and ASD (Australian Signals Directorate) provides guidance on mitigating
the malicious e mails (ASD 2012). Australia is more concerned about its security and many
departments such as Australia Post, Commonwealth bank, ASD, etc. provide alerts to the people about
spam or malicious e mails so that they are attentive beforehand and do not suffer from them. Australia
Post provides information about online security, scam and fraud (Post 2015). Commonwealth Bank
tells you the details about Hoax e mail (Commonwealth Bank 2015). RMIT uses Gmail as the means
of communication among students, staff, administrator, etc. which protects them from spam and
suspicious e mails (Gmail Help 2015).
In this paper, we have discussed about the advantages of email, threats related to email, techniques
used to protect the system from these threats.
Introduction to email clients and servers

Themes Of The Lottery And First They Came
Both The Lottery by Shirley Jackson and First They Came by Martin Niemoller have a theme of
following the crowd can have disastrous consequences, but they do it in different ways. The short
story The Lottery is a story about a small village on a nice and sunny day. Once every year they hold a
lottery by drawing names out of a black box. Whoever wins the lottery is then stoned to death. In the
poem First They Came the author speaks about his own experiences in concentration camps. He says
how they came for certain groups of people then for him. Both of the text deal with disastrous
consequences by following the crowd, however they are done is different ways.
For one thing, the short story The Lottery by Shirley Jackson has a theme of following the crowd can
have disastrous consequences. The story is written in 3rd person point of view, that may not seem like
a reason but because of that you can understand how more than one person feels. The story declares, It
isn t fair, it isn t right. That was said by Tessie Hutchinson right before she was stoned to death, with
the 3rd person point of view, we are able to know how she feels as well as the narrator. Also, the story
has that theme because only one person is killed every year opposed to a bunch of people. The Lottery
states, Then they were upon her. This shows that only Tessie was being stoned to death. Another
reason The Lottery is different than Fist They Came is because it is written as a fictional

Depression Is A Mood Disorder
Depression is a mood disorder that affects every one out of five adolescents by the time they become
adults (Dryden Edwards 1). It does not seem unlikely that people are more prone to developing
depression in their teen years due to the various physical, emotional, psychological and social changes
that occur during this point of one s life. The human body experiences different developmental
changes while going through puberty, causing a teen to have fluctuating moods. Puberty, along with
juggling school, work, sports, clubs, and spending time with family and friends causes one to feel
overwhelmed and have excessive stress. Adolescents fill up their schedules with these activities,
scrabbling to find room to get a decent amount of sleep, exercise, and eat healthy. There is no time left
for the teen to relax and have some alone time to recoup, which helps to relieve all the stress. So, the
teen feels overwhelmed and unable to handle all the different obstacles being thrown in their path all
at once. Often, it may lead the teen to try to avoid their responsibilities and problems, throwing up one
of the first warning signs of depression. Every human being has feelings and reactions caused by daily
life events, but it is a problem when mood begins to interfere with functioning and completing even
the simplest of tasks. When teens moods disrupt their ability to function on a day to day basis, it may
indicate a serious emotional or mental disorder that needs attention

The Asperger Syndrome (RTT)
About Asperger Syndrome
The disorder is named after Hans Asperger, a Viennese pediatrician who, in 1944, first described a set
of behavior patterns apparent in some of his patients, mostly males. Asperger noticed that although
these boys had normal intelligence and language development, they had severely impaired social
skills, were unable to communicate effectively with others, and had poor coordination.
According to the Asperger Syndrome Coalition of the United States, the onset of AS may be later than
what is typical in autism or at least it is recognized later. Many kids are diagnosed after age 3, with
most diagnosed between the ages of 5 and 9.
AS is characterized by poor social interactions, obsessions, odd speech patterns, and other ... Show

Onset occurs between 6 and 18 months of age.[9] During this time there are subtle developmental
deviations and early indicators of Rett syndrome. A period of developmental stagnation is followed by
developmental regression where language and motor milestones regress, purposeful hand use is lost,
and acquired deceleration in the rate of head growth (resulting in microcephaly in some) is seen. Hand
stereotypes are typical, and breathing irregularities such as hyperventilation, breathholding, or sighing
are seen in many. Early on, autistic like behavior may be seen. The infant with Rett syndrome often
avoids detection until 6 18 months, owing to a relatively normal appearance and some developmental
progress. However, closer scrutiny reveals disturbance of the normal spontaneous limb and body
movements that are thought to be regulated in the brainstem. The brief period of developmental
progress is followed by stagnation and regression of previously acquired skills. During regression,
some features are similar to those of autism. It is, hence, easy to mistakenly diagnose Rett syndrome

Karachalios, Hantes, Zibis, et al (2005). Diagnostic Accuracy of a New Clinical Test (the Thessaly
Test) for Early Detection of Meniscal Tears. J Bone Joint Surg Am, 87, 955 962.
Part 1A Critique Quantitative
Research Question
What is the diagnostic accuracy of a new dynamic clinical test for the detection of meniscal tears?
a) This might be of relevance because the current diagnostic gold standard (MRI) is expensive and not
always available.
b) Are current testing methods inaccurate? Are clinical tests inadequate compared to MRI?
Introduction seemed contradictory; as seventy five per cent accuracy of diagnosis can be made on
history alone (Daniel, 1982; DeHaven, 1975) followed by specific clinical tests with above average
accuracy. Very brief essentially, non existent literature review. Besides mention of the population
susceptible to meniscal injury, other relevant information pertaining to the injury wasn t briefed. Such
as, the mechanism of injury as well as the classic signs and symptoms experienced by an individual
after meniscal pathology. Neither the introduction nor the brief literature review goes over what
exactly sensitivity and specificity imply in the results. Sensitivity being how good the test is at
detecting meniscal tears and specificity being how good the test is at identifying normal knee (Mohan,
2007). Also, there is no mention of what constitutes a false positive and a false negative result
encountered during

Kokoro Trauma
There are many types of trauma that can affect an adolescent and without the proper treatment the
juvenile can have difficulty adapting and developing into adulthood. This situation is animated in
Kokoro by Natsume Soseki. This Japanese novel centers around a university student and a man whom
he refers to as Sensei. The student, also the narrator of this story, goes on a journey to reveal the
secrets behind this enigmatic teacher who lives a reclusive and idle life with his wife. Sensei is weary
of the world in general because of his agonizing past. During his university days, he committed a
crime which has haunted him ever since. On the night of K s death, Sensei was terrified by the scene
in which resulted in a permanent, mental scar that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon discovering K s corpse, Sensei had an urge to properly look at his friend s countenance. The
author writes, Not only had the sight filled me with sudden horror, but the head had felt inordinately
heavy (231). The word choice used by Soseki in this scene elicits the devastating consequence of his
sudden compulsion. Words such as, sudden horror and inordinately heavy, describing a dead man s
head depicts the emotional and mental scarring effect it created on a growing young man. Having
experienced this at such a young age and never receiving the proper treatment, Sensei was traumatized
which resulted in his isolation and distrust of humanity. Additionally, as the night continues, Sensei
becomes restless. He claims, What had truly frightened me was my own destiny; it seemed to have
been shaped... by this friend of mine, who now lay cold and lifeless before me (231). Sensei, being at
such a vulnerable age, suffered the guilt of leading his companion to death, which had a tolling effect
in his development. The dreadful and ghastly scene that laid before him traumatized his developing
mind. Soseki use words such as cold and lifeless to describe K s dead body to emphasize the
agonizing result K s death had on Sensei. The traumatic effect K s suicide had on Sensei is addressed
through Soseki s use of word

Workflows are tools that manage personal, office, department or an entire organization s processes. A
SharePoint workflow is an automated flowchart that takes a lot of the effort, guesswork, and
arbitrariness out of your regular work processes and makes it simpler for you to streamline your tasks.
It is most useful in automating existing conceptual or manual work processes of the company and
reducing human dependence on enterprise as far as possible.
Workflows in SharePoint provide great ways to save time, effort, and cost by automating existing
business processes. Many business needs can be addressed through SharePoint workflows. Here are

look at five SharePoint out of the box (OOTB) workflow templates:
1. Approval: Think about a document or a list item that needs to be approved before being made
visible to many people in the organization. The Approval workflow helps automate this process and
the progress of approval can be monitored at any given time.
2. Collect Feedback: Sometimes content isn t drafted in a single attempt or by a single person. In such
scenarios, the Collect Feedback workflow provides support to get feedback and comments from
several people within the organization. Each person who opens the assigned task to provide feedback
can interact with three actions:
* Send feedback
* Request change in an item
* Reassign task
3. Collect Signatures: Imagine a proposal within the organization that needs to be sent to management.
People within the organization might or might not like to sign it. The Collect Signatures workflow
provides the options to either sign or ignore.
4. Publishing Approval: This workflow is designed to approve the changes made to pages in a
publishing site. For example, imagine an employee adding a news page to the public facing

Human Vs Robotic Space Exploration
In Support of: Sending Exclusively Robotic Missions Space exploration is devoted to seeking out the
unknowns of the universe. Manned and robotic missions alike have contributed priceless knowledge
of our planet s surroundings and beyond. However, with the current geopolitical climate, funding, and
other practicalities, it is not reasonable for the exploration of space to be done exclusively by humans.
To put it simply, human space flight is incredibly expensive in an already over budgeted program. As
of 2016 s fiscal year budget, NASA was allocated $18.5 billion by the United States government
(Granath, 2015). Although this number seems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first sample from the moon was actually taken robotically by the Soviet Union, according to Nye
(James Randi Foundation, 2011). The United States was actually beaten in this aspect, although this
fact has not gotten very much press in the general public. Faster results by robotic missions would aid
in speeding up the commercialization of space travel which would in turn help fund further
exploration.
Robotic space missions are more efficient and cost effective, which makes them a better choice going
into the future of space exploration. Specifically with missions to Mars, it opens the possibility of one
way trips to this exciting planet, which would dramatically decrease the amount of money needed to
fund missions. Lawrence Krauss, an American Canadian theoretical physicist, has stated that a large
burden on manned space missions is having to transport fuel for two trips, there and back again
(James Randi Foundation, 2011). Elon Musk has agreed with this argument in that he has said a rocket
is essentially just a container for liquid oxygen and fuel, of which robots would need only half the fuel
and require none of the oxygen for respiration purposes (Anderson, 2012). Why should transportation
remain two times more expensive than it should be? Lugging this fuel around also has a negative
environmental impact. The petroleum tanks that maintain the refrigeration of the fuel leave a large

Industry Description and Outlook Based off an article Miami Herald in 2014, dog grooming and
boarding businesses make around $100,000+ annually. With this information, the market share for one
of these companies would be .0017% market share, while the higher end businesses in the pet services
industry make $1,000,000+ annually which translates to a .017% market share. I did get a chance to
speak to a representative from the Pet Paradise Resort and Day Spa which said that they make an
estimated $70,000 $80,000 per year. Based off this research we can expect to make at least $70,000 a

The effect on the environment, not just shipping volume, should always be considered when, when

complex are ranked the 10th biggest port in the world by volume, and are the 9th busiest port in the

The high emissions had a major impact on the local air quality. In 2006, the San Pedro Bay Ports

America Needs More Government Programs to Pull Children...
The face of poverty is changing in the United States. When someone mentions that a person is living
in poverty, we are inclined to think of a bum living on the street, eating at shelters, and using whatever
money they have for alcohol, drugs and tobacco. Usually we visualize this person as being a middle
aged male with drab clothing and a long beard. This description may have fit the average person living
in poverty or on the street a few years ago, but it is no longer a correct generalization. Children are the

Some people are born into stable families, so they have m ore opportunities than those that are born
into poverty. No matter how people feel toward the choices that the parents made, we can t hold this
against the child.
One other thing society canít do is simply hand out money or food stamps to the families of these
children. Who knows where this money is going or what it is being used for? The food stamps could
be intended to feed a baby, but instead they could be used to buy food or items that a child will never
see. It is also all to common for parents living in poverty or on the streets to use what money they get
for alcohol or cigarettes. Instead of handing out money to these people, they should be put i n
treatment programs that could help them fight their addictions. This would be of great benefit to their
children now and in the future. Not all mothers and fathers in need of assistance are going to be
irresponsible with what they are given, but we ca n not take the chance of having the money wasted
and the children neglected. Who wants the money that they worked for going to someone else, so that

The Five Imponents Of Alpha Kappa Alpha
In the 1900s, segregation and male dominance were a big part of American Society. African American
women were often underestimated as well as neglected of their respect and authority. Ethel
Hedgeman, who was a student at Howard University, believed that it was essential to create an
organization for a group of women who were willing to use their talents and strengths for the benefit
of others, but at the same time learn to value and respect themselves. She envisioned that this group
would focus on interaction, encouragement, and ethical growth between the members, and that is
exactly what Alpha Kappa Alpha has done ever since she created it. In 1908, AKA also known as the
sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first African American sorority was created. Members of Alpha
Kappa Alpha communicate and express their common ideas and goals in their own unique ways.
Alpha Kappa Alphas represent service and culture more than anything. Ever since AKA was founded
in 1908, their motto has been By Culture and By Merit , and the mission of the sorority goes along
with their motto. According to the mission tab of the official AKA website, service to all mankind, to
cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among
college women, and to alleviate problems concerning girls and women to maintain a progressive
ingress in college life are the five components of Alpha Kappa Alpha s mission to stand by their motto
(Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc., Par. 1).

Common Traits And Characteristics Of Psychopaths
Area of Interest:
Common Traits and Characteristics of Psychopaths.
Research Questions:
1. What is the definition of a psychopath?
2. What is it about psychopaths that fascinate us?
3. Are there certain traits that make victims vulnerable to psychopathic manipulation?
4. What are some of the common traits of psychopaths?
Problem Statement:
Psychopaths are the group of people who kill over a longer period of time without being caught or
stopped. Unlike mass murderers, who may kill many people at one time, psychopaths usually have
reasons for killing, they will plan out where, when, why and how before they actually kill. Many enjoy
cannibalism, necrophilia, and like to keep the body parts as trophies. There violent behavior is usually

The research was obtained from limited sources which entailed internet searches and articles. The
information was gathered from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and college professors.
Hypothesis(ses):
1. If psychopathy is detected at a young age by a test given to the individual by a professional then it
is less likely for them to commit a crime in the future.
2. After being diagnosed with this personality disorder the individual can undergo treatment and
prevent future crimes.
Research Methodology:
The term psychopathy refers to a personality disorder that includes a cluster of interpersonal, affective,
lifestyle, and antisocial traits and behaviors. These involve deception; manipulation; irresponsibility;
impulsivity; stimulations seeking; poor behavior controls; shallow affect; lack of empathy, guilt, or
remorse; sexual promiscuity; callous disregard for the rights of others; and unethical and antisocial
behaviors (Babiak, et al. 2012).
A psychopath does not internalize their feelings of anxiety and guilt or fail to experience them
appropriately; instead, he lacks the fundamental understanding of what these things are. A psychopath
will try to insert himself into a crime scene, but wouldn t feel panic, shock, or horror unlike how the
other onlookers would feel. His interest would fall more on the reactions of the victims and of the
crowd. Despite this emotional deficiency, most psychopaths learn to mimic the appearance of normal
emotion well enough to

William Shakespeare s Henry Iv
Throughout the play Henry IV part 1, Shakespeare was able to depict the concept of honor through
many different individuals. Three main characters that Shakespeare choose to display the concept of
honor are Prince Hal, Hotspur and Falstaff. However, each of these characters interpret the word
honor differently. Hotspur has an obsession with honor and believes it s one of the most important
roles a leader has to show. He relates honor to the duties that he serves on the battlefield and
repetition. While Falstaff believes that honor is a word that only stays with people who have died,
therefore he finds no importance in seeking honor. Prince Hal was able to find a balance between the
two which allowed him to show key features in a leader ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, he has defeated Archibald and taken prisoners which included few with high political
status.Including Mordake, Earl of Fife, and the leader of Archibald s eldest son. King Henry then
begins to express how impressed he is of Hotspurs achievements. In envy that my Lord
Northumberland should be the father to so blest son: A son who is the theme of honor s tongue. Within
this statement the King is implying that Hotspurs father (Northumberland) is blessed to have such a
successful and fearless son, and that he is a perfect example of a man with honor. This truly shapes the
concept of honor that Hotspur takes on through the rest of the play. Since he has now been so honored
by the King for his bloodthirsty acts on the battlefield Hotspur nearly became brainwashed and
allowed his words to shape his every thought. He then made a plan to ransom Mortimer. In which the
King soon refused to do. Hotspur viewed this as a dishonorable action of the King so he then seeked
out to overthrow the King with Northumberland and Worcester to regain the honor that was lost
through the Kings mistreatment to him. This shows that Hotspur believes he will gain honor by
fighting in battles, and even if he dies he still would die with great honor. Hotspur goes on to say To
pluck bright honor from the pale faced moon, or dive into the bottom of the deep. This projects how
far Hotspur is

The Story Of The Wolf
A wolf walked out of the alpha s den and to the nervous crowd, sadly shook his head, No, he said, Our
beloved alpha is gone, gone to walk with the spirits. Silence filled the wolf pack s camp. Beta
Shattered Ice, the second in command, stood in front of the crowd. Dipping her head, she said, Our
alpha was old, but he was a wise leader. He expanded our territory to where no wolf thought possible.
May his spirit have eternal peace. Her gaze scanned the pack and happily changed the subject. Now,
the time has come for a new alpha to rise upon our pack.
Raincloud, the spirit wolf of rain, collapsed on his cloud. Ah. It s great to be on my cloud again right

Surprised, Night Shadow took a step back. Hey, I was just saying, I ll go find my own powers. Oh, I
will find powers, he thought, but maybe not my own powers to be exact.
The Earth below the clouds was in its daily nighttime. The spirit wolf pack always continued sleep,
though they really didn t need to. Just inside the range of their senses, Alpha Night Shadow slowly,
and stealthily, crept up until he was beside them. Carefully, he stole their amulets from around their
necks and slipped away.
Out of their range, he put on all six powers amulets and tried each power one by one. First, he tried
howling, which was Alpha Thunder Shaken s power. With his new loud, terrifying howl, Night
Shadow trotted to a nearby dark cloud and lifted his head, letting out a sharp, ear shattering howl. As
he howled, he raised his voice louder and louder. The thunder was so loud it was almost able to shake
the Earth.
Now it was time to test out Lightening, Piercing Eyes and Alpha Lightening Shock s power. He
crouched down, lifted his hunches, waved his tail for balance, and darkened the world. Right

Evolution Of Quilting
The event, I attended in the National Museum of African American History Culture was on the An
Evolution of Expression: Sundance Star Quilt at 20th October, 2016. It was an exhibition on Quilts; a
tradition that expresses global culture, diversity and gender. This was the most prized celebration and
American Indian quilts are special crafts in the national museum of the American Indian. Kendra
Greendeer described the patterns and how quilting was a part in the life of community for Lakota
woman. This is a most creative craft found in the world and famous among woman, though history of
quilting is not limited to some particular regions.
Joanne hyppolite and Elaine Nichols served as curators for African American quilters, argued the
evolution of quilting through a diversified styles, patterns and symbols. These stylized patterns are
depicting the blends of various traditions and cultures. We also enjoyed the Sundance star of grace

King Congo King Analysis
King Leopold set his focus on the Congo because he wanted to rule a colony of his own, something
bigger than just little old Belgium, and the Congo provided that. It had waterways that connected the
land, as well as people that he could use as slaves. A book that he had read titled Java, or How to
Manage a Colony had sparked Leopold s interest for a colony of his own (Hochschild, p. 37).
According to the quote, In the mid 1870s, sub Saharan Africa was a logical place for an aspiring
colonialist to look...about 80% of the entire land area of Africa was still under indigenous rulers. It
was ripe for conquest or, as Leopold was now learning to say, for protection (Hochschild, p. 42), this
land was an opportunity for Leopold to finally build a colony; especially after Stanley had found the
Congo River during an expedition. Leopold s purpose was shaped by a desire not only for money but
for power (Hochschild, p. 39). The Congo s resources were rubber and ivory, ivory was made into
false teeth, or piano pieces, among other things and this produced a lot of profits once sold. However,
the profits for rubber were much higher than that of ivory. The land itself provides the power that
Leopold wanted. Leopold was successful in the sense that he did become the ruler of the Congo, he
did gain profits out it, he did have slaves that built railways, as well as an army made majority of its
own people, the natives. Leopold failed in the sense that he thought the truth would never come to

What It s Like To Be A Gang Member, By Bill Lee And We...
In both What It s Like to be a Gang Member, by Bill Lee and We Real Cool, by Gwendolyn Brooks,
gang life is portrayed as dangerous and violent, demonstrating that gang members have to find a way
to compensate and prevent themselves from going overboard. Both passages show the toughness
required to be in a gang, along with the challenges the members face, such as peer pressure.
In the article What It s Like to be a Gang Member, by Bill Lee, gang activity is described in detail, and
the struggles of membership are shown clearly. For example, ...when your buddies are jumping
someone, there was immense peer pressure to join in, whether you wanted to or not. This shows that
some gang members would do atrocious things just to fit in, not because they actually wanted to do it.
Beginning in the mid 1960 s, the violence in my neighborhood escalated, and by 1970, a major gang
war had erupted. This quote tells us that things got out of hand and daily life started to get more and
more fatal until a fight took place. They didn t hold themselves back when traumatizing others. I

The Silent Planet By. Lewis And The Three Stigmata Of...
Humanity has always maintained a strong bond between thought and action. It is through our ethical
and moral beliefs that we reinforce our mentality on life. In both Out of the Silent Planet by C.S.
Lewis and The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch by Phillip K. Dick, the protagonists and the story
interact in a similar fashion. These novels portray many fundamental religious theories that directly
mesh with human values. Characterized by their subjective actions, the main characters in these
novels are motivated most strongly by the mythic dimension of the sacred, which reveals human
inclination to think rationally about humanity s past. Mike Alsford created four categories that identify
a human being. Human as a subject is the category that most pertain to both novels. This stresses the
ability to think rationally about one s self and ideologies that stem from human characteristics. The
personalities in both novels implement a great amount of thought about their predicament and their
moral values. Through such thought, a religious context is existent from both stories, as the main
characters in both are faced with a presumed higher power, supernatural force that has a vast control
on the everyday life of humanity. Human as a subject will be applied throughout the analysis of both
stories. It will be used to address the notion of one s ability to interpret the underlying religious themes
in each story. Thought provokes human identity and it is essential to the

Both Sebastian Faulks and W. H. Auden write about the tales of Jewish refugees living in the time of
holocaust during WW2 in their two pieces, The Last Night and Refugee Blues . By using literary
techniques such as imagery and tone both writers, Auden and Gray create a sense of alienation for the
characters portrayed in their writing. Both Auden and Gray create a sincere illusion of reality to
promote the refugee s alienation and suffering in both stories ultimately bringing the two gripping

Say this city has ten million souls, some are living in mansions, some are living in holes . The rhythm
created throughout provokes a melancholy atmosphere to be interpreted by the reader enticing
compassion towards the refugees and further discriminating and separating the Jewish characters and
their race from the rest of the world. Unlike Gray, Faulks writes the The Last Night in the form of a
historical fiction indicating the lack of a particular rhythm in which the story can be read. These
contrasting rhythms though seem to create to same feeling of sadness and empathy towards the
characters. Faulk s choice of diction and literary techniques match with the rhythm and tone of
Refugee Blues and create a huge similarity between the way the two poems are written to create
alienation towards the refugees.
Auden and Faulks use foreshadowing both subtly and palpably early on in each text to show what will

The term Global Financial Crisis (GFC) refers to the financial crisis of 2008 2009 that, according to
leading economists, is the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression (Eigner, 2015). The crisis
began in 2007 due to a mortgage market failure in the United States and in the following year, with the
collapse of the Lehman Brothers investment bank, advanced into an international banking crisis,
which then developed into a global economic crisis, The Great Recession (Williams, 2010). This essay

(Woods, 2009) This played a large role within financial institutions leading up to the crisis (Arner,
2009.) The cause of the crisis not only reflects the private sector but that of the government (Kling,
2009.)
Economists believe that some of the most important financial mechanisms associated and attributed to
the crisis were due to legislation and regulatory anomalies (Kling, 2009). Kling writes that one of the
most notable of these concerns the requirements of capital hill that favour securities backed by risky
mortgages rather than ordinary direct mortgage lending. Kling also states that the emergence of a large
quantity of mortgage loans that host low down payments due to the formation of housing equity also
heavily impacted overall on the crisis (Kling, 2009.) Economist Lawrence H. White bolsters these
assertions by associating the financial collapse with the same political backed efforts to extend
mortgage lending to buyers who could not meet the aforementioned standard mortgage lending
(Yandle, 2010.) It is important to not only analyse these regulatory efforts in the few years leading up

An Important Part of the Romantic Period, The War of the...
The War of the Romantics was an important part of the Romantic music period. It stretched from
about 1840 to with its peak in 1860. After the death of Robert Schumann in 1856, the contemporary
composers divided themselves into two groups. One of the groups had Franz Liszt as the leader, and
Berlioz and Wagner joined him in the way they viewed music. Liszt wanted change and the music
composing to evolve and some composers saw his compositions as being too radical (Urpi). These
composers on the opposite side, the conservative ones were Johannes Brahms accompanied by
Schumann and Mendelssohn. The conservative side wanted to stay with the rules and order from the
classical era, while the radicals thought that music could be just as beautiful and meaningful without
form. Alan Walker describes the war as programme music versus absolute music, form versus content,
the oneness versus the separateness of the arts, newness versus oldness, resolution versus reaction
(Weimar Years 338). To the radicals, what mattered in the music were deep feelings, much emotion
and expression. Earlier the composers now fighting had been united, they all wanted to leave the past
behind and their motto said Let the dead bury the dead (Weimar Years 338). One of the reasons the
war took so much space was because they felt that the resolution to this would have a huge impact on
the music for the rest of history (Weimar Years 338). Hector Berlioz was the one composer who

Nicholas 2 Essay
After Nicholas II ended some of the totalitarian bans on free speech and assembly, the masses in
Russia organized strikes in the streets of Petrograd in late February (Service 2005). The strikes
continued for four days as the Russian military did not wish to fire on the crowd of protesters as
ordered by Nicholas II (Beckett 2007). Reasons suggested for the military s reluctance to follow
orders include the number of women involved and the soldiers own socially aligned sympathies (Wade
2000). According to the old calendar, the February Revolution occurred on February 26, 1917 as
protesters tore down reminders of Nicholas II s regime (Ibid). Even the loyal troops aligned
themselves with the revolutionaries the following day (Ibid). Nicholas II, after having been stopped by

beginning of the revolution. The Women s March on Versailles, from October 1 to 5, 1789, was

Note: Forgive me if I ain t good in writing. T_T
Twenty fourth of January a woman appeared before my eyes. She was crying, really, really hard. I
didn t know what to do, I was at a total loss of words.
Since then, I started wondering why women cry; are they just fond of crying, or, do they cry for
something men don t understand?
As a man myself I want to know the answer. Not that I love to interfere with their sorrows but I just
want to have my curiosity get answered. Do they cry for no reason?
Some people say women are beyond emotional. They cry because their hearts are soft, they also waste
tears because they are partly weak, in comparison with men.

A real woman isn t like this. You can never become a woman if one continues to do things she knows
wrong. I m not a woman. I m not worthy to be called a woman. Her voice trembled once again.
Stop crying. You won t get anything if you cry.
Crying makes me strong again. It s like a medicine. A pain reliever. It s the only means that makes me
feel alive.
She was still beautiful despite her situation. Maybe she really had possessed this natural beauty.
Are you okay with your situation? I mean, don t you want to be called a real woman? I asked instead.
I actually has had a dream to have a husband cause I thought having one could make me become a

now they are a one big happy family. She looked at me, something in her eyes told me that she was

In Yvain, the Knight of the Lion, Love is one of the major themes and Chretien portrays the love and

many ways. Like every detective story, a suspicious death is deriving the whole narrative, but in a

psychological observations. Unlike the traditional detective stories, this novel does not offer a startling
denouement, however, it brings about a deep understanding of gender which is quite unique in its

Here, the death of the father is not a conventional one. The father is already dead when living with the
family. Bechdel s father is dead in the sense that he has always been trying to hide the secret of his
sexual orientation. Bechdel feels her father s metaphysical death despite his constant physical
presence and the ubiquitous marks of his lab (Fantasia 10). Therefore, she tries to understand what
Žižek calls a symbolic death. That is the symbolic death that makes Bechdel more concerned and not
the accident that killed the father because the accident was the result of that symbolic death. As Žižek
states that everybody must die twice (1989, 148). So, a person can be biologically alive, while
symbolically dead (2010, 292 8) and this is the same thing that we see in this novel. The father is
always concerned with the real of the dead. The father is always playing with the objects and do not
pay enough attention to the children. The father is always ashamed of his homosexuality and tries to

Support Kindergarteners Understanding Of Three Dimensional...
This lesson is designed to support kindergarteners understanding of three dimensional shapes. The
students will be able to identify three dimensional shapes, and tell if they stack, slide, or roll. Before
anything was edited from my video it was 1hour long. I edited out the second group/center doing the
same thing I did with the group that is in my video. Starting out I was really nervous about being in
kindergarten, because I have mainly been in the upper grades during clinical and my first experience
of student teaching. There was a lot I learned from first experience in different areas where I needed to
grow as a future teacher. I took all of the comments from my mentor teacher and university supervisor,
and applied them to this second experience so I could improve and find other areas I need to
strengthen. As I was videoing this lesson I found myself so focused on the group that I was videoing,
that some of the other groups were getting a little loud. One thing I need to work on is to not let
videoing keep me from correcting other students when they need reminded to stay on task. This is
something new that I felt like I struggled with this second video, because in kindergarten they do
centers. When I was in my first experience it was just I teaching whole group to third graders, and
they knew the expectations from their teacher and myself.
One of my strengths that I have is my voice projection being strong. I have always had a lot voice, and
have always liked to

from meeting their daughter s needs. In this case, the eating disturbance may serve the function of
eliciting help from preoccupied parents. Preoedipal and oedipal issues appear to be at the root of many
of these problems (Sours, 1980; Schulman, 2002). Sours (1980), one of the first theorists to study the
role that oedipal and preoedipal issues played in eating disorders, noted that his anorexic patients
demonstrated separation anxieties as well as fear of control. Additional research offers confirmatory
evidence that oedipal and preoedipal issues are salient for women with bulimia (Sperling, 1978;
Wilson, 1992; Schulman, 2002). Therefore, bulimia nervosa (BN) can appropriately be conceptualized
as reflecting both oedipal and preoedipal pathology, depending on the individual s central conflicts.
For individuals whose central conflict reflects an inability to control or inhibit aggressive and libidinal
impulses, bulimic symptoms symbolize one s ambivalence about aggression and sexuality. Food
becomes a medium through which these individuals express and manage threatening feelings

For individuals whose central conflict reflects an inability to achieve separateness in close
relationships, bulimic symptoms represent ambivalence about separation and dependency. Food is
used to master desires/fears of becoming engulfed by the maternal object. The influence of the mother
daughter relationship in anorexia and bulimia is well documented. For example, Schulman (2002)
argued that the oedipal and preoedipal issues present in BN represent a daughter s attempt to take in a
maternal object and spit her out. Schulman hypothesized that this was a way for the young woman to
remain connected to the mother while also achieving some degree of separation (p. 129). During my
work with two women with Bulimia Nervosa Purging type, I observed a relationship between
identification with maternal objects and bulimic

The Tragedy Of Saint Louis
It seemed just like yesterday, back in the glory days. Back then, nearly two decades ago, life in the
Saint Louis area was perfect. Unlike today where Saint Louis is known for its crime and violence,
years ago conditions were different, the talk of the town used to be about the Cardinals baseball team,
they were once the pride and joy of the city. Constantly in the news after win after win. For example,
on this particular day on September 8th, 1998, a night that no Cardinal fan would dare to forget, marks
a historic day that is best remembered for being a celebration. What started off like any other ordinary
day, turned into an overwhelming thrill of excitement. On this day, Mark McGwire broke the home
run record. Who would ve thought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like so many times before, after the games it was tradition that no matter the outcome they would go
hang out and grab a few drinks. Either if it was to celebrate a great win or to recover from a
devastating lost, they made it a point to be there for each other. Their normal spot to hit up was the
Instant Replay, a sports bar in her hometown of Quincy Illinois. As the group of them walked into the
small stone exterior building they were greeted by several other people who had the same idea that
night. Almost everybody was handled around the television set. Of course, the Cardinals game was on,
they were playing longtime rival, the Chicago Cubs. You could tell everybody was anticipating that
this was finally going to be the night that Mark McGwire hit his record breaking home run, I don t
know if it was a gut feeling or just human nature, but everybody had the same mindset (Roettger).
The illuminating lights of the television set to beam through the air, which showed the rolling clouds
of toxic cigarette smoke. In the condensed room, the thick smoky air made it hard to breathe due to the
poor continuous circulation of air throughout the building. As people walked past it generated gust of
smoke flying past your nose is every direction. Jill and her friends made their way through the
building in order to have a seat at bar stools in the back, it was like

Descriptive Essay On The Season Of Frost
The Season of Frost
Tiny slivers of ivory flakes were dancing about happily outside my window. The first snow of the
Winter season speckled the green vegetation a screen of radiant white.
It was December 23rd, 6;03 A.M. I live in Oregon, right by Crater lake. My family, one little brother,
two parents, and two animals. We live in a log cabin, in the woods a ½ mile away from the frozen
lagoon. It s beautiful during the Winter, or as my family calls it; the Season of Frost. The ice glazes
across the opaque water. Rich, opulent snow enriches the effect, making it hard to look at the
incandescent snow without blinding my round, hazel eyes. Carter(my 7 year old little brother) and I
always play in the crisp snow together, building forts and gifting snowballs to my parents.Speaking of
Carter... ¨Carmen! It s snowing!¨ Carter yelled, his piercing high bellow perpetrating under the crack
at the bottom of my door, through my reindeer pillow I had used to cover my head, and finally, into
my eardrum. I knew there was no getting out of this one, so I yawned loudly, wiped the faint whisper
of sleep out of my eyes, and got out of my bed. I brushed my copper brown hair and put on LAYERS
of warm clothes(all Christmas colors of course) and walked out my bedroom door.
Carter was waiting for me on the other side, his eager puppy dog eyes lighting up when he saw me
waltz out of my room, all ready to go outside. We live in a small house. 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, one
kitchen, and a

According to the Disability Statistics from the American Community Survey (2015), around 678,000
people in the United States (U.S.), ages four to 19 years old, reported a visual disability in 2015
(Erickson, Lee, von Schrader, 2017). In total, around 6.9 million people or 2.7% of the general
population stated that they had visual impairments (Erickson et al., 2017). While the blind are in
millions by population, they are considered as a minority group and tend to have the worse economic
conditions that can be connected to social stigma against them in everyday life, including schools

By definition, tangible representations pertain to objects and photographs or pictures that can be
considered as highly iconic, or strongly resembling what they stand for, called the referent (Bruce et
al., 2016, p. 425). Moreover, tangible representations can be employed expressively or receptively.
Bruce et al. (2016) reviewed studies on literacy for the deaf blind from 1990 to 2015. Findings showed
the role of tangible representations and technologies in improving communicative expressiveness.
Furthermore, different kinds of literacy lessons that are normally given to prelinguistic learners who
are deafblind can improve self expression. Some examples are: 1) using daily schedules to form
anticipatory skills; 2) personalized story boxes to boost access and engagement with content; 3)
experience books that enable the development of distancing (i.e. separation in time and space between
the object of representation and the referent), and 4) chances for choice making to perform preference
expression (Bruce Conlon, 2005). For effective lessons, learners must be in a setting that promotes
literacy growth. As McKenzie (2009) pointed out, an environment that is rich in plentiful literacy
resources will benefit all kinds of learners, with or without disabilities. Books and other resources
should be in classrooms in different forms if possible, including Braille, tactile adaptations, large print,

, Dante, Inferno And The Inferno
Most literary pieces written in the early Middle Ages were strictly written about different religions,
God, Heaven and Hell. Authors like Dante usually wrote about Christianity unlike Boccacio. Boccacio
wrote literary pieces based off of real people in real life situations, the things a lot of people wanted to
read about but no other author dared to write about. In the story of Decameron, Boccacio uses the
afterlife as a punchline in his said to be stories about entertainment. Throughout the many other stories
he wrote, he dug into the good, bad and ugly and included all the details for all readers to have a vivid
image. In juxtaposition, Dante s great masterpiece was The Divine Comedy which consisted of three
parts: the Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. In The Inferno (or Hell) Dante explains his imaginary tour
there and the different people he sees there. Both literary pieces give insight to the reader on how
these authors thoughts and views on religion and the afterlife.
In Boccacio s Decameron, the story told by Dioneo (third day, tenth story) is about the story of a
young man using religion against a clueless young girl in order to have sex with her. Dioneo uses this
story in a kind of flirtatious way towards the other story teller women. In this writing, It s almost as if
Boccacio is throwing shade at Christians as a whole for being so religious but still sinning out of
temptation. The story starts off with a young girl named Alibech who goes off to search for

Feminism
The notion of difference among the sexes has been studied extensively in terms of cognition and brain
activity. An MRI can back these claims, showing male and female brains lighting up in different
locations based upon different stimuli. Anyone with a close relationship to a child can attest to the fact
that they were born with certain traits. Perhaps their nephew is very shy, while their niece has never
met a stranger. In other words, some difference among individuals is innate, fundamental. This notion
has been applied to studies in the animal world. Susan Allport, author of A Natural History of
Parenting,, notes that Males provide direct childcare in less than 5 percent of mammalian species, but
in over 90 percent of bird ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In her article What Abu Ghraib Taught Me , Barbara Ehrenreich recounts her the process by which she
became disillusioned with the notion of female moral superiority. Despite claiming that she never
believed that women were inherently gentler and less aggressive than men , Ehrenreich divulges her
shock at the images of Spc.s Megan Ambuhl, Sabrina Harman, and Lynndie England, stating secretly,
I hoped that the presence of women would over time change the military, making it more
respectful...but I don t think that anymore. Ehrenreich lays the foundation for a concise argument for
gender equality; namely, if women want to achieve equality, they must let go of the notions of higher
moral existence. In other words, if women are as good as men, they are also as bad as men. The
message becomes somewhat convoluted as Ehrenreich seems unable to let go of the idea that women
may still be able to change corrupt, male dominated systems. She proves herself an optimist in favor
of the difference feminism she previously decried, qualifying her argument with the belief that women
do not change institutions simply by assimilating into them, only by consciously deciding to fight for
change. We need a feminism that teaches women to say no.
While Ehrenreich s remarks seem highly contradictory, within them lies an inherent paradox of the
role of women in male dominated systems. Perhaps

Essay on A Great Composer
Inspiration may be a form of super consciousness, or perhaps of subconsciousness I wouldn t know.
But I am sure it is the antithesis of self consciousness.
Only one man could claim the title as probably the greatest composer in American history for writing
so many unforgettable works: Aaron Copland. He lived a life inspired by many things as well as
inspiring people all across the nation, and it really led to the opposite of being drawn into himself, as
he described in the quote above. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 14 in 1900. He
was the youngest of five children to Sarah and Harris Copland. A musical spark came out in Copland
already at the age of 11 as he began piano lessons with his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the 1920 s, Aaron Copland went with the trend and experimented with jazz styles in his music,
which proved to be extraordinary in the views of many. His choice for other pieces came through
modern music about which he once said, I just happened upon it in the natural course of my musical
exploration. This was apparent in the way he would use ideals of Neoclassicism in his Piano
Variations. Copland then hit a downfall in about 1936. He wrote a few works which were harder to
perform and not taken in by many audiences due to the use of much more advanced techniques which
were uncommon for the time. Copland knew a change had to be made because he quickly saw how
many composers were working themselves into a vacuum, so he would follow a new path of the more
simplistic American way for much of his life. This simple to understand type of writing is what
brought audiences back and made Aaron Copland great. He started writing functional music like The
Second Hurricane and The Outdoor Adventure for kids, as well as Of Mice and Men, Or Town, North
Star, and The Red Pony for movies; Music For Radio for radio; and a few American folk songs. He
worked specifically with western themes in three major pieces, Rodeo (obvious Western setting), Billy
the Kid (another setting in the farther west), and the ever so famous Appalachian Spring (set in
Pennsylvania when it was still America s frontier).

  • 2. Pros And Cons Of Kevin Durant Leaving Oklahoma City NBA article NBA fans still shocked about Kevin Durant leaving Oklahoma City and how much hate he is getting from all his fans and the community of NBA basketball. LeBrone James still thinks Cleveland cavaliers should trade more players even when they recently had Kyle Korver. LeBrone also thinks he can keep functioning Cleveland without Kevin Love on the team. We the community do not like the way NBA players move teams and leaving their old team into the dust. Many players like Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose and Kyle Korver have left their team to join a new one. Kevin Durant lost the semi finals in 2016 against golden state warriors and in 2017 he joined golden state warriors. He said if you can t beat them, join them. That left a lot of hate from his teammates and his fans. At this moment we burned all our jerseys on Kevin because of how much we hate him for what he did. Same with other players, it s really hard to see our favourite players leave their team. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... NBA tickets are at least $50 $80, but not with the New York Knicks. Their tickets are at least over $120 per ticket. Its probably because they had paid too much for Derrick Rose and Justine Holiday. It becomes really hard for Knicks fans to see their games. The Knicks should drop their price for their tickets like everyone else to at least $60. Even the biggest team in the league Cleveland cavaliers are selling tickets for $48. The lowest ranking team in the NBA is the Charlotte Hornets and their tickets cost ... • 3. Cognitive Therapy for Personality Disorders Part I: Provide a brief statement that clearly defines the term: Schema; and, an explanation of how they are developed. A schema is a cognitive pattern or structure comprised of beliefs and perceptions. Worldview is a type of schema, which can be formed by cultural cues, family socialization, and identity. Schemas can change over time, and they can be helpful for organizing the complex world. Some schemas are helpful in that they anchor the mind and emotions in the midst of an overwhelming amount of information and stimuli in the environment. However, schemas can easily become maladaptive. Examples of how schemas become maladaptive are most noticeable with regards to stereotyping, biases, and paranoia. Abuse and trauma can significantly and adversely impact an individual s schemata. Conflicting schemata can also lead to experiences of cognitive dissonance or confused identity. Part II: Statement of how the themes that are evident in the client s presenting problems contribute to the client s level of distress. Identify two Schema Domain (Young, 1998) that are evident in the client s presentation. Jordan s severe separation anxiety stemmed from infancy. This indicates that Jordan was from the start developing a maladaptive schema rooted in the domain of Abandonment/Instability. Jordan was also difficult to comfort, and irritable, which Young (1998) frames as part of the Abandonment/Instability domain. • 5. Using Creative Problem Solving Assignment Analysis Using Creative Problem Solving: It is very challenging to be creative while you are under immense pressure. I know this far too well while working on various political campaigns. My responsibilities as Absentee Ballot Coordinator required me to be creative as possible encouraging and collecting absentee ballots within a specific timeframe. While working on Delegate Anderson s campaign, I had to engineer a way to deploy the greatest amount of absentee ballots while maintaining an aggressive program to ensure these ballots were successfully submitted in before the deadline. I had immense pressure on me and my program as I was reminded how the delegate squeezed victory from defeat in his first election because of absentee voting. I do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was an amazing thing as it would be the first time I had complete control over the operations of a political campaign. This election was slated to happen by way of a special election as the sitting Supervisor was up for a Judgeship and thusly had to vacate his political position. Knowing the sitting Supervisor would have to vacate his position immediately after confirmation by the State Legislature and understanding Prince William County s rule about having to fill a vacant Board seat within 60 days, I understood that we had a very small window to officially campaign for the seat. I had to make sure we fundraised well, had the right materials, staff, and volunteers, acquired key business and political backing, and had established a high name ID before the State did Judge confirmations. This would allow for a smooth and effective roll out of the Jacob s Campaign that would ultimately secure victory. Thinking this process would only last around four months; I budgeted and created a campaign strategy for this time frame. The problem came within the State Government. July 1st, 2014 was the deadline the State Legislature had to pass a budget or the Virginia Government would shut down. This budget would include funding for new state judges thus allowing judicial appointments to occur igniting our race. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first experiment will test that the example factory misplaced 25 barrels full of sodium chloride solution, however, five of them contain hazardous material that needs to be disposed properly. The scenario for the second experiment consists of another issue to resolve with the arrival of unmarked volatile organic compounds. • 7. Email Content Filtering Is The Fastest Means Of... Introduction to Email Content Filtering Email is the fastest means of communication among businesses. It is even faster than the faxing. Email facilitates the exchange of information, keeps lowest communication costs and provides flexibility to connect globally without any barriers (Sheahan 2015). Email in businesses could be used for marketing purposes, intra company communication and coordinating with business suppliers, partners and customers (Acevedo 2015). Each day, it is found that all over the world 89 billion business emails are sent and received, and is researched that 72.5 percent traffic of email is spam, whereas malicious files were found to account for 3.4 per cent of all emails (Kaspersky Lab 2012).. Australia is more concerned about its security and many departments such as Australia Post, Commonwealth bank, ASD, etc. provide alerts to the people about spam or malicious e mails so that they are attentive beforehand and do not suffer from them. Australia Post provides information about online security, scam and fraud (Post 2015). Commonwealth Bank tells you the details about Hoax e mail (Commonwealth Bank 2015). RMIT uses Gmail as the means of communication among students, staff, administrator, etc. which protects them from spam and suspicious e mails (Gmail Help 2015). • 8. Themes Of The Lottery And First They Came Both The Lottery by Shirley Jackson and First They Came by Martin Niemoller have a theme of following the crowd can have disastrous consequences, but they do it in different ways. The short story The Lottery is a story about a small village on a nice and sunny day. Once every year they hold a lottery by drawing names out of a black box. Whoever wins the lottery is then stoned to death. In the poem First They Came the author speaks about his own experiences in concentration camps. He says how they came for certain groups of people then for him. Both of the text deal with disastrous consequences by following the crowd, however they are done is different ways. For one thing, the short story The Lottery by Shirley Jackson has a theme of following the crowd can have disastrous consequences. The story is written in 3rd person point of view, that may not seem like a reason but because of that you can understand how more than one person feels. The story declares, It isn t fair, it isn t right. That was said by Tessie Hutchinson right before she was stoned to death, with the 3rd person point of view, we are able to know how she feels as well as the narrator. Also, the story has that theme because only one person is killed every year opposed to a bunch of people. The Lottery states, Then they were upon her. This shows that only Tessie was being stoned to death. Another reason The Lottery is different than Fist They Came is because it is written as a fictional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Depression Is A Mood Disorder Depression is a mood disorder that affects every one out of five adolescents by the time they become adults (Dryden Edwards 1). It does not seem unlikely that people are more prone to developing depression in their teen years due to the various physical, emotional, psychological and social changes that occur during this point of one s life. The human body experiences different developmental changes while going through puberty, causing a teen to have fluctuating moods. Puberty, along with juggling school, work, sports, clubs, and spending time with family and friends causes one to feel overwhelmed and have excessive stress. Adolescents fill up their schedules with these activities, scrabbling to find room to get a decent amount of sleep, exercise, and eat healthy. There is no time left for the teen to relax and have some alone time to recoup, which helps to relieve all the stress. So, the teen feels overwhelmed and unable to handle all the different obstacles being thrown in their path all at once. Often, it may lead the teen to try to avoid their responsibilities and problems, throwing up one of the first warning signs of depression. Every human being has feelings and reactions caused by daily life events, but it is a problem when mood begins to interfere with functioning and completing even the simplest of tasks. When teens moods disrupt their ability to function on a day to day basis, it may indicate a serious emotional or mental disorder that needs attention ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Asperger Syndrome (RTT) About Asperger Syndrome The disorder is named after Hans Asperger, a Viennese pediatrician who, in 1944, first described a set of behavior patterns apparent in some of his patients, mostly males. Asperger noticed that although these boys had normal intelligence and language development, they had severely impaired social skills, were unable to communicate effectively with others, and had poor coordination. According to the Asperger Syndrome Coalition of the United States, the onset of AS may be later than what is typical in autism or at least it is recognized later. Many kids are diagnosed after age 3, with most diagnosed between the ages of 5 and 9. AS is characterized by poor social interactions, obsessions, odd speech patterns, and other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Onset occurs between 6 and 18 months of age.[9] During this time there are subtle developmental deviations and early indicators of Rett syndrome. A period of developmental stagnation is followed by developmental regression where language and motor milestones regress, purposeful hand use is lost, and acquired deceleration in the rate of head growth (resulting in microcephaly in some) is seen. Hand stereotypes are typical, and breathing irregularities such as hyperventilation, breathholding, or sighing are seen in many. Early on, autistic like behavior may be seen. The infant with Rett syndrome often avoids detection until 6 18 months, owing to a relatively normal appearance and some developmental progress. However, closer scrutiny reveals disturbance of the normal spontaneous limb and body movements that are thought to be regulated in the brainstem. The brief period of developmental progress is followed by stagnation and regression of previously acquired skills. During regression, some features are similar to those of autism. Diagnostic Accuracy of a New Clinical Test (the Thessaly Test) for Early Detection of Meniscal Tears. J Bone Joint Surg Am, 87, 955 962. Part 1A Critique Quantitative Research Question What is the diagnostic accuracy of a new dynamic clinical test for the detection of meniscal tears? a) This might be of relevance because the current diagnostic gold standard (MRI) is expensive and not always available. b) Are current testing methods inaccurate? Are clinical tests inadequate compared to MRI? Introduction seemed contradictory; as seventy five per cent accuracy of diagnosis can be made on history alone (Daniel, 1982; DeHaven, 1975) followed by specific clinical tests with above average accuracy. Very brief essentially, non existent literature review. Besides mention of the population susceptible to meniscal injury, other relevant information pertaining to the injury wasn t briefed. Such as, the mechanism of injury as well as the classic signs and symptoms experienced by an individual after meniscal pathology. Neither the introduction nor the brief literature review goes over what exactly sensitivity and specificity imply in the results. Sensitivity being how good the test is at detecting meniscal tears and specificity being how good the test is at identifying normal knee (Mohan, 2007). The student, also the narrator of this story, goes on a journey to reveal the secrets behind this enigmatic teacher who lives a reclusive and idle life with his wife. Upon discovering K s corpse, Sensei had an urge to properly look at his friend s countenance. The author writes, Not only had the sight filled me with sudden horror, but the head had felt inordinately heavy (231). The word choice used by Soseki in this scene elicits the devastating consequence of his sudden compulsion. Words such as, sudden horror and inordinately heavy, describing a dead man s head depicts the emotional and mental scarring effect it created on a growing young man. Having experienced this at such a young age and never receiving the proper treatment, Sensei was traumatized which resulted in his isolation and distrust of humanity. Additionally, as the night continues, Sensei becomes restless. He claims, What had truly frightened me was my own destiny; it seemed to have been shaped... by this friend of mine, who now lay cold and lifeless before me (231). Sensei, being at such a vulnerable age, suffered the guilt of leading his companion to death, which had a tolling effect in his development. The dreadful and ghastly scene that laid before him traumatized his developing mind. Human Vs Robotic Space Exploration Meg Luther Dr. Erika Harnett ESS 102 6 October 2017 Human Vs Robotic Space Exploration In Support of: Sending Exclusively Robotic Missions Space exploration is devoted to seeking out the unknowns of the universe. Manned and robotic missions alike have contributed priceless knowledge of our planet s surroundings and beyond. However, with the current geopolitical climate, funding, and other practicalities, it is not reasonable for the exploration of space to be done exclusively by humans. To put it simply, human space flight is incredibly expensive in an already over budgeted program. As of 2016 s fiscal year budget, NASA was allocated $18.5 billion by the United States government (Granath, 2015). Although this number seems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first sample from the moon was actually taken robotically by the Soviet Union, according to Nye (James Randi Foundation, 2011). The United States was actually beaten in this aspect, although this fact has not gotten very much press in the general public. Faster results by robotic missions would aid in speeding up the commercialization of space travel which would in turn help fund further exploration. Robotic space missions are more efficient and cost effective, which makes them a better choice going into the future of space exploration. Specifically with missions to Mars, it opens the possibility of one way trips to this exciting planet, which would dramatically decrease the amount of money needed to fund missions. Lawrence Krauss, an American Canadian theoretical physicist, has stated that a large burden on manned space missions is having to transport fuel for two trips, there and back again (James Randi Foundation, 2011). Elon Musk has agreed with this argument in that he has said a rocket is essentially just a container for liquid oxygen and fuel, of which robots would need only half the fuel and require none of the oxygen for respiration purposes (Anderson, 2012). Why should transportation remain two times more expensive than it should be? Lugging this fuel around also has a negative environmental impact. Three main characters that Shakespeare choose to display the concept of honor are Prince Hal, Hotspur and Falstaff. However, each of these characters interpret the word honor differently. Hotspur has an obsession with honor and believes it s one of the most important roles a leader has to show. He relates honor to the duties that he serves on the battlefield and repetition. It had waterways that connected the land, as well as people that he could use as slaves. A book that he had read titled Java, or How to Manage a Colony had sparked Leopold s interest for a colony of his own (Hochschild, p. 37). According to the quote, In the mid 1870s, sub Saharan Africa was a logical place for an aspiring colonialist to look...about 80% of the entire land area of Africa was still under indigenous rulers. It was ripe for conquest or, as Leopold was now learning to say, for protection (Hochschild, p. 42), this land was an opportunity for Leopold to finally build a colony; especially after Stanley had found the Congo River during an expedition. Leopold s purpose was shaped by a desire not only for money but for power (Hochschild, p. 39). The Congo s resources were rubber and ivory, ivory was made into false teeth, or piano pieces, among other things and this produced a lot of profits once sold. However, the profits for rubber were much higher than that of ivory. The land itself provides the power that Leopold wanted. Mike Alsford created four categories that identify a human being. Human as a subject is the category that most pertain to both novels. This stresses the ability to think rationally about one s self and ideologies that stem from human characteristics. • 33. An Important Part of the Romantic Period, The War of the... The War of the Romantics was an important part of the Romantic music period. It stretched from about 1840 to with its peak in 1860. After the death of Robert Schumann in 1856, the contemporary composers divided themselves into two groups. One of the groups had Franz Liszt as the leader, and Berlioz and Wagner joined him in the way they viewed music. Liszt wanted change and the music composing to evolve and some composers saw his compositions as being too radical (Urpi). These composers on the opposite side, the conservative ones were Johannes Brahms accompanied by Schumann and Mendelssohn. The conservative side wanted to stay with the rules and order from the classical era, while the radicals thought that music could be just as beautiful and meaningful without form. Alan Walker describes the war as programme music versus absolute music, form versus content, the oneness versus the separateness of the arts, newness versus oldness, resolution versus reaction (Weimar Years 338). To the radicals, what mattered in the music were deep feelings, much emotion and expression. Earlier the composers now fighting had been united, they all wanted to leave the past behind and their motto said Let the dead bury the dead (Weimar Years 338). One of the reasons the war took so much space was because they felt that the resolution to this would have a huge impact on the music for the rest of history (Weimar Years 338). Nicholas 2 Essay After Nicholas II ended some of the totalitarian bans on free speech and assembly, the masses in Russia organized strikes in the streets of Petrograd in late February (Service 2005). The strikes continued for four days as the Russian military did not wish to fire on the crowd of protesters as ordered by Nicholas II (Beckett 2007). Reasons suggested for the military s reluctance to follow orders include the number of women involved and the soldiers own socially aligned sympathies (Wade 2000). According to the old calendar, the February Revolution occurred on February 26, 1917 as protesters tore down reminders of Nicholas II s regime (Ibid). Even the loyal troops aligned themselves with the revolutionaries the following day (Ibid). These sources consisted of, one, undergraduate Christian students from the introduction to psychology at major mid atlantic universities. Two, a group of undergraduate Christian students who are enrolled in 5 general study classes at a, mid Atlantic, creedal based Christian college, and are required to attend chapel services once a week. Third and last group are from four Washington, D.C., churches (from both traditional and charismatic Christian faiths)(Fretz and Keating, 1990). All together the total participant count was 301. To better understand these 301 participants I will highlight some of the other characteristics of each of the three groups. She was crying, really, really hard. I didn t know what to do, I was at a total loss of words. Since then, I started wondering why women cry; are they just fond of crying, or, do they cry for something men don t understand? As a man myself I want to know the answer. Not that I love to interfere with their sorrows but I just want to have my curiosity get answered. Do they cry for no reason? Some people say women are beyond emotional. Her voice trembled once again. Stop crying. You won t get anything if you cry. Crying makes me strong again. It s like a medicine. A pain reliever. It s the only means that makes me feel alive. She was still beautiful despite her situation. Maybe she really had possessed this natural beauty. Are you okay with your situation? I mean, don t you want to be called a real woman? I asked instead. I actually has had a dream to have a husband cause I thought having one could make me become a woman. I used to love a person who would love to love me back. I used to step on an altar with my wedding gown and with my partner in life two years ago. But someone took him away from me and now they are a one big happy family. She looked at me, something in her eyes told me that she was too vulnerable inside. Isn t it unfair? I may be a mistress, but I am just doing my part for the good of myself. Like every detective story, a suspicious death is deriving the whole narrative, but in a fantastically fresh form. There is a mysterious home, and the mystery lies in the minds and secrets of its residents. The significance of this novel lies in the fact that the narrator is one of the main suspected criminals. I edited out the second group/center doing the same thing I did with the group that is in my video. Starting out I was really nervous about being in kindergarten, because I have mainly been in the upper grades during clinical and my first experience of student teaching. There was a lot I learned from first experience in different areas where I needed to grow as a future teacher. I took all of the comments from my mentor teacher and university supervisor, and applied them to this second experience so I could improve and find other areas I need to strengthen. As I was videoing this lesson I found myself so focused on the group that I was videoing, that some of the other groups were getting a little loud. Preoedipal and oedipal issues appear to be at the root of many of these problems (Sours, 1980; Schulman, 2002). Sours (1980), one of the first theorists to study the role that oedipal and preoedipal issues played in eating disorders, noted that his anorexic patients demonstrated separation anxieties as well as fear of control. Additional research offers confirmatory evidence that oedipal and preoedipal issues are salient for women with bulimia (Sperling, 1978; Wilson, 1992; Schulman, 2002). Therefore, bulimia nervosa (BN) can appropriately be conceptualized as reflecting both oedipal and preoedipal pathology, depending on the individual s central conflicts. For example, Schulman (2002) argued that the oedipal and preoedipal issues present in BN represent a daughter s attempt to take in a maternal object and spit her out. Schulman hypothesized that this was a way for the young woman to remain connected to the mother while also achieving some degree of separation (p. 129). Moreover, tangible representations can be employed expressively or receptively. Bruce et al. (2016) reviewed studies on literacy for the deaf blind from 1990 to 2015. Findings showed the role of tangible representations and technologies in improving communicative expressiveness. Furthermore, different kinds of literacy lessons that are normally given to prelinguistic learners who are deafblind can improve self expression. Some examples are: 1) using daily schedules to form anticipatory skills; 2) personalized story boxes to boost access and engagement with content; 3) experience books that enable the development of distancing (i.e. separation in time and space between the object of representation and the referent), and 4) chances for choice making to perform preference expression (Bruce Conlon, 2005). Authors like Dante usually wrote about Christianity unlike Boccacio. Boccacio wrote literary pieces based off of real people in real life situations, the things a lot of people wanted to read about but no other author dared to write about. In the story of Decameron, Boccacio uses the afterlife as a punchline in his said to be stories about entertainment. Throughout the many other stories he wrote, he dug into the good, bad and ugly and included all the details for all readers to have a vivid image. In juxtaposition, Dante s great masterpiece was The Divine Comedy which consisted of three parts: the Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. In The Inferno (or Hell) Dante explains his imaginary tour there and the different people he sees there. Both literary pieces give insight to the reader on how these authors thoughts and views on religion and the afterlife. In Boccacio s Decameron, the story told by Dioneo (third day, tenth story) is about the story of a young man using religion against a clueless young girl in order to have sex with her. Dioneo uses this story in a kind of flirtatious way towards the other story teller women. Ehrenreich lays the foundation for a concise argument for gender equality; namely, if women want to achieve equality, they must let go of the notions of higher moral existence. In other words, if women are as good as men, they are also as bad as men. The message becomes somewhat convoluted as Ehrenreich seems unable to let go of the idea that women may still be able to change corrupt, male dominated systems. She proves herself an optimist in favor of the difference feminism she previously decried, qualifying her argument with the belief that women do not change institutions simply by assimilating into them, only by consciously deciding to fight for change. We need a feminism that teaches women to say no. While Ehrenreich s remarks seem highly contradictory, within them lies an inherent paradox of the role of women in male dominated systems. Perhaps ... Only one man could claim the title as probably the greatest composer in American history for writing so many unforgettable works: Aaron Copland. He lived a life inspired by many things as well as inspiring people all across the nation, and it really led to the opposite of being drawn into himself, as he described in the quote above. During the 1920 s, Aaron Copland went with the trend and experimented with jazz styles in his music, which proved to be extraordinary in the views of many. His choice for other pieces came through modern music about which he once said, I just happened upon it in the natural course of my musical exploration. This was apparent in the way he would use ideals of Neoclassicism in his Piano Variations. Copland then hit a downfall in about 1936. He wrote a few works which were harder to perform and not taken in by many audiences due to the use of much more advanced techniques which were uncommon for the time. Copland knew a change had to be made because he quickly saw how many composers were working themselves into a vacuum, so he would follow a new path of the more simplistic American way for much of his life. This simple to understand type of writing is what brought audiences back and made Aaron Copland great. He started writing functional music like The Second Hurricane and The Outdoor Adventure for kids, as well as Of Mice and Men, Or Town, North Star, and The Red Pony for movies; Music For Radio for radio; and a few American folk songs. He worked specifically with western themes in three major pieces, Rodeo (obvious Western setting), Billy the Kid (another setting in the farther west), and the ever so famous Appalachian Spring (set in Pennsylvania when it was still America s frontier). ...
