Creon Loyalty Quotes
The brave Burmese politician Aung San Suu Kyi once said, It is not power that corrupts but fear.
Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it. (Brainyquotes.com) Aung San Suu Kyi statement
explains Creon, the king of Thebes in Sophocles play Antigone to the furthest extent. Creon s
constant paranoia about the safety of his enfant regime is his fatal flaw. Antigonedepicts the dangers
of power and the importance of family, and illustrates Creons rule over the city of Thebes. Creon
takes power over the city after their previous ruler died in battle. Thebes is riven by the tragedy
of their previous king s death and Creon needed to make sure that the people were loyal to his
regime. One decree that he made was that the previous king s... Show more content on

Here, Creon is showing his first signs of paranoia. He thinks that the people of his kingdom all
are gossiping about him and constructing a rebellion, but in reality they are not. In his first
speech he spoke about the nature of friendship and being loyal to the state. Now, he is not even
giving anyone a chance to show his or her loyalty. Here, we can see how his paranoia interferes
with his ability to be a great leader.
In his fourth monologue, Creon shows his naive side to complement his paranoia. In this scene,
Creon and his son, Haemon, are arguing about what to do about Antigone. At first Haemon is
agreeing with his father, yet, as the conversation escalates Haemon starts to take the side of his
fiancГ©, Antigone. Creon states,
I caught her in naked rebellion, the traitor, the only one in the whole city. I m not about to prove
myself a liar, not to my people, no, I m going to kill her

Benefits of Organic Food
The Benefits of Organic Food Draft #1 Organic food, once only found in health food stores, is
now a consistent element at local supermarkets. So what is the difference between a
conventionally grown apple and an organic one? The answer is in the way the crop is grown and
what it is and is not exposed to.
In order to be labeled organic the farmer who grew it used renewable resources and conservation
of soil and water methods. Also, organic farmers do not use conventional pesticides or weed killers,
which may contain synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge. According to Fisher, Sewage sludge
from municipalities waste may contain heavy metals and toxins . . . (1). Rather, organic farmers
use sophisticated crop rotations, spread mulch and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Compacted soil can result in soil that is unable to create a run off surface. If this happens, the
water will be unable to seep into the soil and irrigate the crop. Tractors passing over soil can cause
this compaction to occur, which is why tilling is a more effective way to stir up the soil. And as a
bonus, tilling can help get rid of weeds, so it is a win win.
Pesticides and preservatives are not only harmful to human beings, but they are also harmful to our
environment and ecosystems. Pesticides used in organic farming may run off and contaminate
nearby bodies of water. If enough contaminated run off from pesticides and artificial fertilizers
get into water, it is able to poison animals and fish that live there. According to Raloff, recent
studies have demonstrated that exposure to hormones has a substantial effect on the gender and
reproductive capacity of fish, throwing off the natural cycle, (1). This is not only harmful to the
animals that live there, but if enough fish are dying because of poisoned run off, the fish industry
could suffer and it will affect humans as well. The same chemicals that poison bodies of water
could seep into our groundwater and affect the well water we drink and use daily. This does not
happen with organic farming, because no chemicals are ever sprayed on the fields and there is
much more run off because of tilling practices.
Organic farming does not only include crops. There is also organic eggs and meat produced by
livestock

Applications Of Machiavelli s The Prince
Applications of Machiavelli s The Prince, in General Electric
General Electric has had exceptional leadership that has kept the company at the top of their
business. This success is attributed to both individual efforts to spur the corporation and the
consequential results achieved collectively. GE has established the entire organization based on
creativity and innovation, as they tend to inspire the public and improve their present lifestyles.
However, this subject needs thorough discussion by distinguishing between standalone innovators
and the one who rely on others, that is, gauging the difference between the leaders who accomplish
their purposes through force or those who use persuasion (Machiavelli, p.21). This ideology of GE

He simply says that the firm was at risk of losing its market share to its competitors in more than a
few areas, mentioning that only the motors, lighting, as well as the power systems trailed at first
and second place in their corresponding markets. He also said, on the other hand, that the economy
was changing from local prominence to international recognition. Moreover, in the foreign markets,
the only part of their business that led was the gas turbine unit (Slater, p. 9).
Another characteristic desirable by a leader as displayed by most CEOs of General Electric,
according to Machiavelli, was being feared rather than loved. He reiterated that a feared leader
gains more admiration and is at the end of the day less harsh than a leader who strives to acquire
love. A feared leader like Jack Welch upheld respect by making illustrations of only a few
instances that needed intervention in the organization. On the other hand, leaders who endeavor
to receive the love and admiration constantly lose respect and tolerate communities to incline
into chaos ( murder and rapine ). As soon as such circumstances come into play, the leaders
resort to radical and universally ferocious solutions to reestablish order. Consequently, it is better
to murder a few people than to be forced to abolish an entire city. Most essentially, a feared leader
has less motive to concern himself about wrongs. Men are less expected to attack a feared leader

Technology Threatens Your Privacy Essay example
Privacy threats are currently the biggest threat to National Security today. The threats are not only
concerning to the government, however. An alarming 92% of Americans are concerned that the
power grid may be vulnerable to a cyber attack (Denholm). Although this is a more recent
development to the cyber threats we have experienced, this is not the first time that privacy threats
have stepped into the limelight as people are forced to watch their every online move.
There are twelve major ways technology threatens your online policy today. The first of these
threats is phishing. According to Riva Richmond, phishing is a ploy to gain personal information
that will help people to steal your identity. Hackers will send you fake e mails that ... Show more

This makes you vulnerable as you just shared very personal information with everyone on the
internet (Richmond).
The history of your web use may not be a big deal to you but it reveals a ton of information. It
reveals everything you have ever searched which means people can find out things like where you
bank, work, and go to school. Targeted advertising and cookies also are a threat to privacy because
companies collect a lot of information about us in order to figure out what we are likely to buy, and
to place their advertisements on our webpages. They get this sensitive information through cookies
which they place on our computers, which allow them to access our personal information. Cloud
computing is also a huge threat because these sites, which often include e mail services, instant
messaging, and document services, do not have security features which protect our privacy and the
confidential things that we don t want other people to view (Richmond).
Electronic medical data has also become a source of concern when it comes to our privacy.
Although the federal government requires that medical data be kept private, it doesn t cover
programs like Google Health or Microsoft s HealthVault in those protection laws which raises the
risk of your medical information being breached. Public Wi Fi isn t exactly keeping our private
information safe either. They often don t encrypt data which makes it easier for hackers to gain

The Supremes Role In Popular Music During The 1960 s
Ever since 2011, The Supremes has been the vocal group that most interests me. Originally
called the Primettes , this female singing group was founded in 1959 and has since been one the
most successful groups to date, in America. (Bronson, 265) The singing group had four original
members, yet only three of the four made it to the peak of the group s career; those women being
Diane Ross, Mary Wilson, and Florence Ballard. Proof to this group s success would be the fact
that they rivaled the band The Beatles in worldwide success and fame during their prime in the 60s.
Not only did they challenge another wildly known band, they did this whilst also making a
headway for future generations of African American musicians, which contributes to... Show more

(Pompei) The instrumentals of The Supremes have some intriguing similarities to the music of the
Ancient Romans; relying on heavy back beats and percussion instruments bells and tambourines to
amplify the background sounds. (Etc.usf.edu) Although there is this similarity, the Romans did not
use harmonies in their music and were not known for being original in their styles of music.
Though The Supremes had very original harmonies and melodies, they had no obvious inspirations
or influences. The lack of both harmonies and melodies in Roman music and the abundance of
them in The Supremes is the starkest contrast in their compositions, despite the similarities in their
musical back beats. That being said, it is very likely that they picked up bits and pieces from other
legendary R B/soul artists, such as the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder, all of whom
the Supremes three members were backup singers for at one time or

Jim Crow laws established separate but equal facilities in the American south. African Americans
and other minorities were segregated from white Americans and did not have the same benefits as
them. White Americans were deemed as better, smarter, and superior than African Americans.
White Americans wanted to still keep the power they had in society during slavery. Lynching
became very popular in the South after Reconstruction. Stovel writes, over 1200 blacks were
lynched at the hands of whites in this region between 1882 and 1930 (844). African Americans
were lynched because they did something or were either accused of doing something that the white
people did not approve of. A huge crowd would watch as a black person hung from a tree fighting
for their life. The body would hang from the tree for days to put fear in other black people. This is
very resembling to when slaves were beat in front of other slaves as form of teaching the other
slaves a lesson. This in turn made American American s feel inferior and caused self esteem

The Completion Of My Degree Program At Northeastern State...
At the completion of my degree program at Northeastern State University, commencement
exercises were rapidly approaching. As most of my classmates and friends were filled with
excitement, I was experiencing mixed emotions, most of all fear of the unknown as to where I
would end up.
To be completely honest, I was fearful of leaving Tahlequah and Northeastern State simply due to
so many unknown variables as to what steps I would take next in my life. I dreaded the fact that I
was leaving Tahlequah, as it was a place that helped me to grown intellectually, emotionally, and
physically.
The influence of Dr. Kent Lashley had motivated me to become more scholarly and instilled a
desire of life long learning. Emotionally, I was forced to grow, mature, and problem solve without
having my parents there to coach me, and as a result of that, I gained confidence and
independence in my ability to make it as a young adult. Physically, I grew and learned the
importance of proper nutrition, became an avid runner, and earned my 3rd degree black belt before
graduating from college.
The fear within me was simply not knowing where I would end up teaching with my first job. I
had not applied too many places in Oklahoma before my graduation date as I had placed all of my
eggs in one basket. I had relied on a young lady that I thought would spend the rest of my life with
and was headed to Florida to fulfill a lifelong goal. Little did I know that the relationship would
completely dissolve

The Characteristics Of A Hero
Heroes can come from nothing
A hero is someone who shows courage mostly because of their actions and is idealized because of
their courage. There are many examples of heroes in the everyday world. This can be star baseball
player Yasiel Puig who was smuggled into America and first started playing baseballas a job for $17
a month. This can show that heroes can be anyone in this world. One amazing hero statement is
when Joseph Campbell said, A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger
than oneself. So we know that a hero has to be someone that shows courage, but when you think
about it a hero is an idle and many idles in this world don t show courage that much. You can still
be a hero if you work hard and even show others to do the same.
A hero has to function like no other. This is because of their traits and their heroic actions. The
function of a hero is someone or something that may show courage or influences others. Many
heroes are idealized and are known because of their actions. Some of these actions can be
standing up for what they believe in or their rights. Heroes are also known because of their traits
that make them heroes. Some heroic traits are pride, courage, and selflessness. These are hero
traits because this shows that you are not selfish are care about others more than yourself. Some
other hero traits are working hard and never giving up. These can be hero traits because it shows
that you will never stop and many people will be

Comparison of the Protagonists in Juno and Catcher in the Rye
The main protagonists Juno and Holden of movie Juno and the book Catcher in the Rye, have
main thing in common, they have not yet accepted the fact they play a role in society,
communicating with the people around them, and with their families. Where they differ is in
the problems they face. Juno s main problem is that she becomes pregnant at a young age which
is considered to be a life changing event by societal standards. The main source of Holden s
problems comes from result of the death of his little brother Allie who had Leukemia and his
inability to cope with it. Despite many differences that the main protagonists have, it is true to say
that both Juno and Holden go through times of struggle. Although it is clear that the main
characters struggle more than the average teenager, ultimately both the novel and movie outlines
what occurs to teenagers going through a phase in their lives. Both Holden and Juno suffer
through psychological struggles while they try to figure out what they want in life. In both the
movie and the book both characters try to be as original as possible, however this leads to the
characters isolating themselves from society and the people around them. Holden tries to be the
most authentic person he can be while calling all the people that don t share his ideals phonies .
Holden tries to distance himself from people around him as he wears his red hunting hat to prove
that he is unique from society and above everybody else. He doesn t know how to

Deaf Event Report
My second deaf event didn t involve communicating with the deaf community but it involved a
form of deaf culture within hearing society. In November, I attended a Pride event that had the
Gay Men s Choir. This was the first time I would see an interpreter at an event. I was excited and
astonished to see one. I understood mostly all the signs that were shown but there were a couple
I didn t know. Majority of the time was of course them singing. They sang popular songs such as
Bruno Mars, Cher, and even film scores from The Sound of Music and DreamGirls . I thought it
was great for the event to have interpreters there. I didn t see anyone who was deaf or signing
when I got closer to the stage but I did see the interpreter s signing to each... Show more content on

I thought it was odd to have them do that but I thought they must be learning. I noticed the
interpreters were using old and new signs which was interesting. For instance, instead of the
crossed arms for I Love You they did the sign with the hand that looks like a bull for I Love You .
Since taking ASL, when I see an individual signing, at the appropriate moment I would try to
understand what they are communicating to learn more signs and to better understand how to
communicate to other individuals who are deaf. I would look at the interpreter instead of paying
attention to those who are hearing, for instance I was watching the interpreter throughout the event
or in class when professor Chuck was signing while watching the film Sound and Fury . The
different signs I learned were song, hills, the phrase say what , 16 going on 17 , loud, either, and
Monday. Although this is not an event but I would like to mention how fascinated I am with our
hearing society is more involved with the deaf culture. I have not seen this much use of ASL since
taking the class. For instance, I always get excited now when I see films, videos of individuals, and
commercials using or learning sign

Step 6: Develop a detailed data center move/relocation project plan.
Perhaps one of the most critical steps within a data center move/relocation project, the team will
need to create a detailed move plan that includes the equipment move sequence, back up operations
during the move, installation and testing and ongoing operations.
Success of data center move and relocation projects are highly dependent upon detailed and

Primary Neurological Brain Abnormalities And Individuals...
Introduction
There are primary neurological brain abnormalities in individuals with schizophrenia. According to
Fusar Poli (2009), schizophrenia is delineated by prefrontal activity and elevated striatal
dopaminergic functions. These elevations in striatal dopamine activity and prefrontal cortical
dysfunctions (Fusar Poli, 2009). Along with other abnormalities in white matter as well as, having
been observed in the right superior frontal gyrus, left middle frontal gyrus, bilateral

may assist us to understand their role in the severity of the schizophrenia disorder symptoms
(Antonius, 2011).
This research paper will provide an a comprehensive look of this disorder by providing the essential
features, enhanced knowledge on neurological pathology, recent research on the field that aids in
the comprehension of the neurodevelopment of schizophrenia, demographics including, prevalence
rates, and gender differences, an extensive review of differential diagnosis, the use of anti psychotic
medication and therapy as forms of treatment, the etiology of the disorder from the biological and

Stigmatization Of Madness In Don Quixote
Our delight in or respect for his madness and its wonderful connections to the imagination does not
take away from our genuine pain at his humiliation. Though Don Quixote is humiliated on every
page of the book, it is only in this п¬Ѓnal humiliation when he becomes a rational observer of his
past insane life and views it with profound regret that we actually enter into real sympathetic pain
with him. Until this point, he is an object of our mirth. Once he becomes aware that his
perception of reality was in error and that his actions were, therefore, not a product of his
autonomous self, we feel genuine compassion for him. His realization that his hyper vigilance
about his dignity as a knight errant was delusional is a serious indignity for him. He has been in
error about reality, and everyone has known it except for him. People have gone along with him in
a patronizing way.
In Cervantes s Don Quixote, we can see remarkably clear pictures of both the kind of unfair
stigmatization of madness that McKay and Mitchell decry and the essentially demeaning nature of
insanity to which Gardner and Macklem draw our attention. Don Quixote is treated with astounding
cruelty. He is made an object of ridicule and trickery by almost everyone he meets.
As Nietzsche says: Today we read Don Quixote with a bitter taste in our mouths, almost with a
feeling of torment, and would thus seem very strange and incomprehensible to its author and his
contemporaries: they read it with the clearest

Zoroastrian Culture
1 One of the easiest and most typical theories about the origin of these sacred sites is to rely on
their myth, with some adjustments, as a real historical event. Based on this theory, we can assume
that the family of the Yazdegerd III, with their treasures, was fleeing from the Arab invaders to a
safer place far away from Pars, the heartland of the Sasanians, towards XorДЃsДЃn in the northeast
of Iran. According to the shrines legend, when Yazdgerd s family reached to a mountainous area,
called AghdДЃ,the pursuers got closer to them. Therefore, they separated and tried to find shelter in
different mountains. Then, the legend says that when each of them was near to be captured, they

38 40) assumes that the Zoroastrian shrine of PД«r e BДЃnЕ« PДЃrs lady of PДЃrs was originally a
shrine dedicated to ДЂnДЃhid as the Lady patron of PДЃrs region. Then, the priests of this shrine
became aware of the story adjusted for ДЂnДЃhid s old shrine at Ray. Therefore, a similar belief
gradually grew among them that the shrine they served was dedicated to a historical figure linked
with the Yazdgird s family. Furthermore, it is probable that Muslim s coercion expedited the
Zoroastrian s tendency to believe this story in order to protect the former ДЂnДЃhid s Shrine.
Finally, Boyce (1967, p. 40 42) poses that, at an early stage, the legend of BДЃnЕ« Pars was
imitated for PД«r e Sabz, probably because it was also a shrine of ДЂnДЃhid. Later, at late
nineteenth century and during the time of literacy, variants of the original legends, developed for
the other major shrines.
As it is mentioned before, lack of evidence enters us into the realm of speculation in which all of
the above theories can be partially true. Here, I do not want to support or refute any of these
hypotheses but rather, I want to remind one important point; there is no necessity to find the origin
of something in a glorious ancient past. For instance, when you speak with Zoroastrian villagers
they confess that many of their smaller local or garden type shrines have developed from simple
one room buildings, which were used by farmers as temporary

The Tax Advantages and Disadvantages of Sarbanes Oxley The 1990s and the early 2000s was
a time that the world witness an explosion of fraud in the corporate world. Corporate fraud like
Enron, HealthSouth, Waste Management, WorldCom, Lehman Brothers, etc. was so disturbing
that lawmakers felt the need for a law to help curb down these frauds. Lawmakers came out with

The Status of Women in the Work Force After the Fall of Communism in Eastern Europe
The fall of communism in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union marked the end of an era
in which official ideology and state policy often masked the reality of citizens lives. This
contradiction was particularly acute for women, a group that the Soviet model of communism was
intended to emancipate (Basu, 1995; Bystydzienski, 1992; Corrin, 1992; Einhorn, 1993;
Millarand and Wolchik, 1994; Nelson and Chowdhury, 1994; Rueshchemeyer, 1994). Under the
guise of Marxist Leninist ideology, women were accorded an equal right to work and to
participate in the building of socialism. The Soviet model, which was imposed to a greater or

Women consequently suffered from feelings of exhaustion, guilt, and inadequacy towards their
children, not to mention low levels of career satisfaction.
Western scholars and observers hailed the transition toward democracy as a liberating forcefor
women living under communist rule. These changes, however, have not automatically brought an
expansion of rights and opportunities for women. In fact alarming trends emerging throughout the
post communist region reveal that women stand to lose many of the rights to which they were
formerly accustomed. Women are not well represented in the new democratic political structures.
And, in demonstrating their opposition to Communist policies, new democratic leaders are passing
legislation which curtails reproductive rights and removes many of the social safety nets that
women and children have come to rely upon. At the same time, increasing unemployment has led
enterprises to shed labor and women have usually been the first to go (Commander and Coricelli,
1994; Corrin, 1992; Einhorn, 1993; Nelson and Chowdhury, 1994; Rueschemeyer, 1994; Scheppele,
1995; Slay, 1994).
The present research is concerned with this reevaluation of woman as worker in the post communist
countries. Are some countries better able to maintain female participation in the work force? Are
women leaving the work force voluntarily or are they being pushed? And, what are the
determinants of the relative participation of women in the work

The Nature Of Work For Your Selected Career
Section 1 Identify your career of choice and discuss the nature of work for your selected career:
My selected major is computer science. As I grew up, I began to develop a love for computers
and that love grew each year, and each year I would use a computer even more than I had the year
preceding that year therefore generating my passion for computer science. Computer scientists have
more than one duty, as they have many. They usually work in a team with other computer
programmers, information technology professionals and mechanical and or electrical engineers.
These teams come up with ways to further computer technology by designing new technology. The

Computer Scientists usually work on more than one project a day. They cycle through several
projects looking at ways to improve code or write new code to include newer and better features to
these programs. Troubleshooting is a huge part of the computer scientists work day as they don t
always get the results they would hope for on the first run, so they troubleshoot until a certain
problem is fixed or a solution is found within the program.
Section 2 Preparation and qualifications for this career:
Becoming a Computer Scientist is not an easy task, it it were you could expect a lot more
computer scientists out there since a computer science degree is one of the hottest out there

Advantages Of The French Presidential System
France
1.After reading about Britain s parliamentary system, as well having a familiarity with the United
States presidential system, the French semi presidential system is more effective than the United
State s system, and I would prefer this system. The semi presidential system is a bit more
complicated than every other system I have learned about. The French system uses a mixture of the
premier as well as the president. Under the president is the cabinet and ministries. The president
serves as a guide for the nations versus a supreme leader (Roskin 87 8). I would prefer this system
to the United States system. This is because of the advantages of the semi presidential system. Some
of the advantages include the fact that the president and the parliament do not serve the same
amount of time on their terms. If there are people serving on each side who are not serving to
the best of their ability, they can be taken out of power. It would not be at the same time, which
is an advantage because the ideas of the new person serving could work with the ideas of the
person serving along with them. This way, a whole fresh set of new ideas does not come in at
one time. The president currently can serve two consecutive five year terms, while the prime
minister has no outlined term limits. For the prime minister to stay in power they must maintain
the support of the National Assembly. (Roskin 80 82). There are new ideas flowing in either
every five years or every ten. This is just one advantage to this system. Another advantage to the
semi presidential system is the multitude of ideas that are able to come through. There are so
many people who are able to contribute to the semi presidential system, that every voter s idea
should be represented. On the other hand, a disadvantage to the semi presidential system is the fact
that there are multiple representatives. The multitude of representatives can have too many ideas,
and it can be hard to get things accomplished when all of their ideas are pinned against each other.
Overall, I would prefer this method of governance because despite the multitude of ideas, more is
able to get accomplished.
2.The French have a large bureaucracy, which runs welfare programs, supervises

Differences Between New England And Middle Colonies
Differences between the New England and the Middle colonies
In the early 17th century, colonies were being established by outside settlers from European
countries. The Middle colonies consisted of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
The New England colonies consisted of New Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay, Connecticut and
Rhode Island. Each colony had their differences when it came to religious beliefs and the
economy. The Middle colonies had a higher tolerance for religious beliefs. There were great
amounts of diversity when it came to religion. The various types of religion at the time were:
Presbyterian, Church of England, Dutch Reformed, Dutch Lutheran, Seven Day Baptist, German
Reformed and the Quakers, who were later known to lead the charge in freeing slaves. Many
Europeans frowned upon the idea of religious freedom. The freedom to express religious or non
religious beliefs attracted many European settlers. This tradition was later allowed ... Show more

Importance And Importance Of Assembly Line
Importance of the Moving Assembly Line and the Model T Ford Before the world entered into
the Industrial Revolution, all goods were made by hand and took weeks to months to produce.
After the Industrial Revolution had begun, the first concept of the assembly line was created. The
assembly line was comprised of each individual worker doing a certain job of producing a single
part of the final product. Prior to Henry Ford, assembly lines involved horses carrying parts from
one worker to the next to create the end product. The implementation of Ford s moving assembly
lineestablished a world where mass production found widespread popularity for being the dawn
of the automotive industry due to its many benefits. Prior to Ford s moving assembly line, the
Model T was a luxury only accessible to the wealthy, yet it later became a car for all. The Model
T was a car that followed the production of the Model N both of which were meant to be cheap
in comparison to earlier automobiles. From its inception, the Model T has been meant to be the
first car readily available to the masses. Before the moving assembly line was implemented, the
Model T was already a sturdy and relatively inexpensive automobile yet, not inexpensive enough for
Ford who was determined to build motor... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of mass production meeting those needs is the modern cell phone of which Samsung
has been able to sell and produce about 300 million phones per year (Anon). Without the use of the
assembly line, mass production would not be a thing. The definition of mass production is
producing something in large quantities, therefore a product can not be produced in large amounts
without an assembly line automating the task at hand. The task of mass production can only ever
be achieved through efficient methods and a working team of machines or people specializing at

Peoria Analysis
The choice of Peoria, IL an IRS office in the Midwest to set the novel is anything but
coincidental. Apart from being one of the very few rather unpopular American institutions, it is
also, largely, extremely efficient, which is aptly summarized by the sardonic but true observation
often ascribed to Benjamin Franklin (who used it in the current form in a letter to Jean Baptiste
Leroy in 1789 but dating back to Daniel Defoe s Political History of the Devil written in 1726),
that in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes . But the inevitability of

The latter expression is a direct quote from 1 Corinthians 13:11, clearly implying something akin
to a quasi religious awakening whereby a self professed slacker and wastoid , ironically through
his inability to pay attention, evolves into a full on accountant. At this point, in order to further
explore the theme of boredom in The Pale King, let us revisit the definition of boredom itself after
all, to say that the novel is simply a book about boredom would be a serious understatement. The
Pale King is not just about the psychological side of this phenomenon, it actually reaches much

that is combined with despair. And apart from just using it as a motif, Wallace proposes a way to

The Walking Dead:
The main protagonist in the film is the deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes who has been shot and when
he wakes up he finds himself in a post apocalyptic world in which zombies are everywhere. He

Most of the characters in the TV show, The walking dead, are white and they speak with each

dominate each other and be the head of the group. In the show, they even show that there is a
dispute between the main protagonist and his son when the son tells his father that he is not

on the show that it is racist but the show producers have denied any such claim. The Asian
American and black cast have been given roles which are either too little or are killed off
(BERRY, 2013). The claims that the show is racist have even been condemned by the Danai

by the critics and the viewers who claim that women are given minor roles and their influence on

The following article appeared in the Summer 2010 issue of Biblical Illustrator, a supplement to

The events in the Books of 1 and 2 Samuel took place in ancient Israel over a span of about 130
years, from the beginning of the eleventh century B.C. to the early part of the tenth century B.C. At
that time the world s approximately 50 million{1} people lived in pre industrial societies; their
lives centered on agricultural tasks they performed using primitive tools made mostly of wood and
stone and some iron.
The international scene
Not all civilizations were equal; those situated in warm climates on fertile land near large rivers had
significant advantages over those that lacked these, especially if they were surrounded by
mountains or deserts. Such surroundings made an enemy s attack difficult. Cultural groups that
possessed these favorable sets of circumstances were poised to be superpowers. Within the Old
Testament world three different cultural groups had these ideal natural circumstances: Egypt,
Assyria, and Babylon. Israel did not, because it lacked significant natural defenses and had no
useful river the Jordan River lies completely below sea level, and none of the other rivers in its

Ineffective Postoperative Pain
What is postoperative pain?
An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage
due to surgery... thus pain is what the person says it is, and exists when the person experiencing the
pain says it does.
Situational Analysis.
Approximately 80% of patients who undergo surgery experience acute postoperative pain. With
75% of these patients report post operative pain as moderate, severe or extreme 12,96.
In adequate post operative pain management and assessment postpones patient discharge and delays
recovery affecting 24% of patients. As a result there are increased readmissions and prolonged
length of stays in hospital, and also poor clinical outcomes for the patient.
Therefore when acute postoperative pain is improperly managed, it leads to emotional and
physiological disorders (Gillaspie, 2010; Polomano et al., 2008), hinder social functioning (Cox,
2010), and may lead to the progression of chronic pain disorders (Dunwoody, Krenzischek, Pasero,

With the President and his wife still in mourning when they moved to Washington, the White
House was a dark and gloomy place. Because of Jane Pierce s frail health, opposition to drinking,
and her depression over the loss of her child, social functions at the White House were almost
unheard of during the first half of the Pierce administration. In its later stages, she did manage
some appearances at events there, but she came to be known as The Shadow in the White
House. Franklin Pierce came to office during a period of growing tension between the North and
South. Pierce was behind one of the most crucial pieces of legislation in American history.
Although he did not author the Kansas Nebraska Act, he did encourage its passage by Congress.
And that piece of legislation set the nation on its path to civil war. Jane s disgust with the
political life in Washington must have been behind Pierce s decision to resign from the Senate in
1841. Subsequently, he served in the Mexican American War, and in something of a surprise was
elected President in 1852. Franklin Pierce s life following the presidency proved no happier than
his life during it. He spent most of the pre Civil War years in Europe, mulling his political
misfortunes. When the Civil War erupted, Pierce voiced support for the northern cause, which was
ironic in light of his earlier proslavery stance. But Pierce, a loyal Democrat, did not support the new
president, Abraham Lincoln. In fact, Pierce

indigenous peoples in Mesoamerican and the Andes into Spanish subjects as understood by the

that of Hispaniola and Cuba. However, in 1513 Williamson reports, an expedition under
Pedrarias Davila set out from Spin with royal permission to conquer the isthmian region of

settlement of Darien in the region described as inhospitable . (Williamson, 2009, p.17) It is
reported by Williamson that there were others from Spain in Latin America hoping to conquer

Oscars So White a phrase that began trending on social media sites after the 2016 Academy

inception it s constantly been guilty of underrepresenting ethnic people. It s evident that film is a
type of mass media that has a certifiable amount of power to influence audience s views, yet this
platform constantly disregards the need for diversity in favor of stereotypes. Movies such as

For instance, in one his scenes Mr. Yunioshi is awoken by the ringing of a doorbell, he
immediately stands up from his mattress on the floor only to hit his head on a lantern and
stumble across his room looking for his glasses; once he regains his balance, he opens the front
door and screams at Holly Golighty (the main character portrayed by Audrey Hepburn) in
broken English (that was produced due to his heavy Japanese accent). At face value this
particular scene was supposed to add to the comedic element of the film; however, if we take a
closer look, it is evident that racial stereotypes are embedded within the physical and behavioral
aspects of the character as well as the environment. In the aforementioned scene, Mr. Yunioshi s
apartment is exceedingly stereotyped, because his mattress on the floor signifies that (in terms
of socio economic class) he s poor, while the decorations in his apartment, such as the lanterns
and various plants, are used to overly emphasize that he is Japanese. Of course, his physical
features effect his behavior because of his poor sight and slurred speech, he s depicted as a
clumsy and grumpy person. Furthermore, I acknowledge that it was normal to use racially charged
humor in this era, but it s movies like these that utilize comedy as a form of justifying the use of
whitewashing and racial stereotyping; therefore, making it difficult to overcome stereotypes.

Analysis Of Mother Tongue By Amy Tan
What does it feel like to be raised in an immigrant family? In the essay Mother tongue by Amy Tan,
the author describes how her mother s English influences her in her career and life that the mother
tongue does not limit her as a writer, but shaped her and her perception on life instead. And her
attitude to her mother s English changes from the initial embarrassmentto the final appreciation. Tan
s attitude towards her mother s English begins with embarrassment and humiliation. Growing up in
an immigrant family which speaks imperfect English, Tan witnesses many discriminations that
her mother has encountered in department stores or at banks, those experiences help to shape
Tan s opinion to her mother s English. For example, Tan states that [she] was ashamed of [her
mother s] English. [She] believed that [her mother s] English reflected the quality of what [her]
mother had to say (508). In young Amy s opinion, her mother s expressions and thoughts are
broken and imperfect like the way she speaks, and she believes that linguistic expression is
linked to a person s intelligence. As a result, she was ashamed of her mother in public because of
her fractured English. Besides, Tan recalls another incident of her pretending to be her mother to
talk to a stockbroker. Tan s mother was using broken English to give Tan instructions on how to
talk on the phone. She describes that her mother said, So mad he lied to me, losing me money ( Tan

Essay on Moral Conflict in Antigone
The major moral conflict in Antigone by Sophocles is the conflict over which value is most
fundamental. The play presents the moral conflict over whether the god s law or the city s law is
more powerful. This seems to be the most prominent theme. The conflict arises mainly between the
tragic heroes Antigoneand her uncle in law Creon, King of Thebes. The city of Thebes had been
through a war in which Antigone and her sister Ismene have lost both of their brothers to it,
Eteocles and Polyneices. Eteocles s fighting for Thebes was buried and honored as a hero. (lines

(line 89)
When a messenger comes to Creon, bringing the news that Antigone has buried her brother, he
begins his arguments why Antigone has broken the law. He begins by stating that a man shows
what he is made of by his skill in rule and law. In other words, the law is everything and as a
ruler, he must do everything for his country. He considers Polyneices an enemy of the city and a
threat to the security of the city as well. Thus Polyneices will be called a traitor in life and in
death and dishonored. The scene when Antigone and Creon face each other is the opportunity
for both to defend themselves. Creon questions Antigone. She bases her responses on that the
city laws proclaiming her as illegal are not the laws of Zeus or laws proclaimed by gods, but rather,
laws made by a man that one day will also die. She will honor her brother s death because this is
what the gods have proclaimed for all mankind. (lines 460 463)
In the dialogue between Creon and Antigone she also defends herself when he questions her as to
why an enemy should be honored. She responds by saying she loved her brothers and her family,
and they are not her enemies. Creon also asked Antigone why she was the only one defying him.
She answers him by saying that there are many others who do not speak out because they fear him.
(lines 508 509) Antigone offers one last argument in stating that she loves her family and will
welcome death because she

Managerial Functions Of A Manager
In an organization, manager is someone who coordinates and oversees the work of other people
so that organizational goals can be accomplished. (Robbins, Bergman, Stagg Coulter, 2012, p.10)
Managers play an important role as the organization requires their skills to overcome the
challenges in chaotic times. Besides, manager is vital to make sure all the work activities operate
smoothly and thus achieve the goals efficiency and effectively. There is said to be three specific
categorization schemes which are functions, roles and skills to describe what managers exactly
needed to do at each level of management. Firstly, there are four managerial functions as identified
in Henri Fayol s research that underlying the framework of a manager s jobs which are planning,
organizing, leading and controlling. Planning as the first step in managerial functions requires the
managers to develop strategies and plans to define and aim at some organization s goals. (Education
Portal, 2014) The managers are also responsible for determining and allocating the limited
resources. This is called as organizing function. Next, in the leading function, managers involve in
communicating, motivating, encouraging and inspiriting his subordinates towards higher
productivity. (Education Portal, 2014) Controlling means how the activities are monitored by
managers to ensure the goals are achieved as planned. (Robbins, et.al, 2012).For example, a

My Day In My School

DJ 1 protects against mtDNA damage, mitophagy and cell death. DJ 1 is a multifunctional
protein that protects cells from oxidative stress via several molecular processes including

cytoprotective proteins and scavenging ROS (3). DJ 1 is expressed in human primary alveolar
type II cells (preliminary data) and we have recently postulated that plays a role in the antioxidant

Isolation of human primary ATII cells.
We will isolate ATII cells from de identified control organ donors whose lungs were not suitable
for transplantation and donated for medical research through Temple Biobank in collaboration with
Dr. Gerard Criner (Temple University, letter attached) as we previously described (7, 9, 10). For
ATII cellisolation, we used magnetic microbeads (Miltenyi, Biotec Inc.) and epithelial cell
adhesion molecule (Ep CAM) positive selection. Purified ATII cells display about 90% purity as
detected by staining with pro surfactant protein C (proSP C) and ATII280, which are specific ATII
cell markers (Fig. 2). In this grant proposal, we plan to use ATII cells isolated from at least 12 non
smoker and 12 smoker control lung donors and 12 patients with emphysema (GOLD IV). Lung

ATII cells obtained from patients with emphysema in comparison with control lung donors. We
found high expression of DJ 1 Cys106 SO3 in ATII cells obtained from individuals with this disease
using a specific DJ 1 antibody (AbDSerotec; Fig. 3). The presence of this DJ 1 form was

Frumherj Essay
Frumherj is a car inspection company in Iceland. They are one of the largest in the country, but
they want to continue to grow and to outpace their competitors. However, there are some
inefficiencies in their process that must be addressed before they can meet their goals. One of their
first problems is maintaining an even flow in their process environment. Due to the nature of the
inspections and the cold weather in Iceland, they are much more busy in the summer that they are
in the winter. This makes it difficult to keep the right amount of employees. There is little they can
do to avoid this problem, but rather they should examine their historical data to determine how
many employees they will need in order to meet expected... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If the company can make every base take the same amount of time, they will experience less
delays as less cars are stopped waiting for the next base to open up. There is very little
correlation between the KPIs and the process map. They KPIs are focused on measurements such
as market share, customer satisfaction surveys, and comparisons to competitor s prices. None of
the KPIs focus specifically on improving the process so there are no practical, actionable items
that the employees can focus on. Without the employees being able to see how they fit in the plan
to increase the company s performance, they can t possibly begin to innovate new ways to improve
the process. Management by means seeks to find each individuals place within the system and to
continuously improve the system. In MBM systems the employees help the management improve
by offering design improvements, and the managers, in turn, use this information to optimize the
system. The problem is not that the company doesn t have admirable goals, but rather their
process isn t capable of producing the desired results. The goals and KPIs are bold and admirable,
but they are not relatable to the process that will ultimately determine their outcome. The system
will produce what it produces; you can t get more out of a system than it is capable of making.

Hepatitis C Infection
What is Hepatitis C?
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection causes chronic liver. Over time, infections can lead to liver
damage, liver cancer, and even liver failure.
HCV is a blood borne virus. This means that it spreads to a person through contact with the infected

The Newspaper On The Internet
Now a days people read the newspaper on the internet, rather than on just reading an actual
newspaper. On November 5, 1997, Minnehaha County may add a public defender office to help
people who cannot afford a regular lawyer. (Olson 2D). That same day, the sheriff and police
departments will divide $200,000 in grands for equipment. The equipment was were going to
enhance the technology of the departments (Kibiger 2D). One of the bigger stories that day was
First Premier Bank being accused of misusing trust money to develop a business that was worth
millions (Swenson 1A). In state news, Mike Miller, of Mitchell, SD, puts Florida on the top of his
list of colleges. He verbally committed in front of family, friends, and media to Florida... Show

Analysis Of Hockey Game By Andy Warhol
The image that I have chosen from Artstor, to demonstrate the understanding of the visual culture
is a painting titled, Hockey Game . This image was created by Andy Warhol who was an
American painter, printmaker and filmmaker from 1928 until 1987. There is no date on this
piece. The actual size of this image is 8 by 10 inches and the material used is Gelaton silver
print. Among the images found in Artstor, there is more than one image called the Hockey Game,
created by the same author which are shots in time of pieces of specific hockey games. The image
I choose, was of two pairs of players fighting with another player with a referee. Finding this image
was achieved through the digital library Artstor, choosing all collections and... Show more content

With each view having different ideologies when viewing an image, the artist in this case has left
the power of his influence up to the value of the viewer. Ideologies are produced and affirmed
through the social institutions that characterize a given society, such as the family, education,
medicine, the law, the government, the entertainment industry, among others (p.23). As a hockey
player and coach, I would view this image of a hockey fight as a natural progression of the game.
If a person, ignorant to the game of hockey viewed this image, they may take offense or even be
upset with the turn of events of the game. It is interesting that the there are a series of pictures
called the Hockey Game created by Warhol, not all at the same game but showing different events
of a game through this TV screen. I think the power of the series would give a viewer a much
more vivid image or representation of hockey than the one specific image I choose a given instance
in time.
The second visual concept that will aid in the explanation of my visual analysis is the concept of
realism and perception. Art and images are in one view, a practice dedicated to the visual and
material reproduction of things and events in the world. In this view, we might say that there are
things in the world and then there are their representation . (p.143). It is

  • 2. Creon Loyalty Quotes The brave Burmese politician Aung San Suu Kyi once said, It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it. (Brainyquotes.com) Aung San Suu Kyi statement explains Creon, the king of Thebes in Sophocles play Antigone to the furthest extent. Creon s constant paranoia about the safety of his enfant regime is his fatal flaw. Antigonedepicts the dangers of power and the importance of family, and illustrates Creons rule over the city of Thebes. Creon takes power over the city after their previous ruler died in battle. Thebes is riven by the tragedy of their previous king s death and Creon needed to make sure that the people were loyal to his regime. One decree that he made was that the previous king s... He thinks that the people of his kingdom all are gossiping about him and constructing a rebellion, but in reality they are not. In his first speech he spoke about the nature of friendship and being loyal to the state. Now, he is not even giving anyone a chance to show his or her loyalty. Here, we can see how his paranoia interferes with his ability to be a great leader. In his fourth monologue, Creon shows his naive side to complement his paranoia. In this scene, Creon and his son, Haemon, are arguing about what to do about Antigone. At first Haemon is agreeing with his father, yet, as the conversation escalates Haemon starts to take the side of his fiancГ©, Antigone. • 3. Benefits of Organic Food The Benefits of Organic Food Draft #1 Organic food, once only found in health food stores, is now a consistent element at local supermarkets. So what is the difference between a conventionally grown apple and an organic one? The answer is in the way the crop is grown and what it is and is not exposed to. In order to be labeled organic the farmer who grew it used renewable resources and conservation of soil and water methods. Also, organic farmers do not use conventional pesticides or weed killers, which may contain synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge. According to Fisher, Sewage sludge from municipalities waste may contain heavy metals and toxins . . . (1). Rather, organic farmers use sophisticated crop rotations, spread mulch and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Compacted soil can result in soil that is unable to create a run off surface. If this happens, the water will be unable to seep into the soil and irrigate the crop. Tractors passing over soil can cause this compaction to occur, which is why tilling is a more effective way to stir up the soil. And as a bonus, tilling can help get rid of weeds, so it is a win win. Pesticides and preservatives are not only harmful to human beings, but they are also harmful to our environment and ecosystems. Pesticides used in organic farming may run off and contaminate nearby bodies of water. If enough contaminated run off from pesticides and artificial fertilizers get into water, it is able to poison animals and fish that live there. According to Raloff, recent studies have demonstrated that exposure to hormones has a substantial effect on the gender and reproductive capacity of fish, throwing off the natural cycle, (1). This is not only harmful to the animals that live there, but if enough fish are dying because of poisoned run off, the fish industry could suffer and it will affect humans as well. The same chemicals that poison bodies of water could seep into our groundwater and affect the well water we drink and use daily. This does not happen with organic farming, because no chemicals are ever sprayed on the fields and there is much more run off because of tilling practices. Organic farming does not only include crops. There is also organic eggs and meat produced by livestock ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Applications Of Machiavelli s The Prince Applications of Machiavelli s The Prince, in General Electric General Electric has had exceptional leadership that has kept the company at the top of their business. This success is attributed to both individual efforts to spur the corporation and the consequential results achieved collectively. GE has established the entire organization based on creativity and innovation, as they tend to inspire the public and improve their present lifestyles. However, this subject needs thorough discussion by distinguishing between standalone innovators and the one who rely on others, that is, gauging the difference between the leaders who accomplish their purposes through force or those who use persuasion (Machiavelli, p.21). He simply says that the firm was at risk of losing its market share to its competitors in more than a few areas, mentioning that only the motors, lighting, as well as the power systems trailed at first and second place in their corresponding markets. He also said, on the other hand, that the economy was changing from local prominence to international recognition. Moreover, in the foreign markets, the only part of their business that led was the gas turbine unit (Slater, p. 9). Another characteristic desirable by a leader as displayed by most CEOs of General Electric, according to Machiavelli, was being feared rather than loved. He reiterated that a feared leader gains more admiration and is at the end of the day less harsh than a leader who strives to acquire love. A feared leader like Jack Welch upheld respect by making illustrations of only a few instances that needed intervention in the organization. On the other hand, leaders who endeavor to receive the love and admiration constantly lose respect and tolerate communities to incline into chaos ( murder and rapine ). As soon as such circumstances come into play, the leaders resort to radical and universally ferocious solutions to reestablish order. Consequently, it is better to murder a few people than to be forced to abolish an entire city. Most essentially, a feared leader has less motive to concern himself about wrongs. An alarming 92% of Americans are concerned that the power grid may be vulnerable to a cyber attack (Denholm). Although this is a more recent development to the cyber threats we have experienced, this is not the first time that privacy threats have stepped into the limelight as people are forced to watch their every online move. There are twelve major ways technology threatens your online policy today. The first of these threats is phishing. The history of your web use may not be a big deal to you but it reveals a ton of information. It reveals everything you have ever searched which means people can find out things like where you bank, work, and go to school. Targeted advertising and cookies also are a threat to privacy because companies collect a lot of information about us in order to figure out what we are likely to buy, and to place their advertisements on our webpages. They get this sensitive information through cookies which they place on our computers, which allow them to access our personal information. Cloud computing is also a huge threat because these sites, which often include e mail services, instant messaging, and document services, do not have security features which protect our privacy and the confidential things that we don t want other people to view (Richmond). Electronic medical data has also become a source of concern when it comes to our privacy. Although the federal government requires that medical data be kept private, it doesn t cover programs like Google Health or Microsoft s HealthVault in those protection laws which raises the risk of your medical information being breached. Originally called the Primettes , this female singing group was founded in 1959 and has since been one the most successful groups to date, in America. (Bronson, 265) The singing group had four original members, yet only three of the four made it to the peak of the group s career; those women being Diane Ross, Mary Wilson, and Florence Ballard. Proof to this group s success would be the fact that they rivaled the band The Beatles in worldwide success and fame during their prime in the 60s. As most of my classmates and friends were filled with excitement, I was experiencing mixed emotions, most of all fear of the unknown as to where I would end up. To be completely honest, I was fearful of leaving Tahlequah and Northeastern State simply due to so many unknown variables as to what steps I would take next in my life. I dreaded the fact that I was leaving Tahlequah, as it was a place that helped me to grown intellectually, emotionally, and physically. The influence of Dr. Kent Lashley had motivated me to become more scholarly and instilled a desire of life long learning. Emotionally, I was forced to grow, mature, and problem solve without having my parents there to coach me, and as a result of that, I gained confidence and independence in my ability to make it as a young adult. Physically, I grew and learned the importance of proper nutrition, became an avid runner, and earned my 3rd degree black belt before graduating from college. The fear within me was simply not knowing where I would end up teaching with my first job. I had not applied too many places in Oklahoma before my graduation date as I had placed all of my eggs in one basket. There are many examples of heroes in the everyday world. This can be star baseball player Yasiel Puig who was smuggled into America and first started playing baseballas a job for $17 a month. This can show that heroes can be anyone in this world. One amazing hero statement is when Joseph Campbell said, A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. So we know that a hero has to be someone that shows courage, but when you think about it a hero is an idle and many idles in this world don t show courage that much. You can still be a hero if you work hard and even show others to do the same. A hero has to function like no other. This is because of their traits and their heroic actions. The function of a hero is someone or something that may show courage or influences others. Many heroes are idealized and are known because of their actions. Some of these actions can be standing up for what they believe in or their rights. Heroes are also known because of their traits that make them heroes. Some heroic traits are pride, courage, and selflessness. These are hero traits because this shows that you are not selfish are care about others more than yourself. Comparison of the Protagonists in Juno and Catcher in the Rye The main protagonists Juno and Holden of movie Juno and the book Catcher in the Rye, have main thing in common, they have not yet accepted the fact they play a role in society, communicating with the people around them, and with their families. Where they differ is in the problems they face. Juno s main problem is that she becomes pregnant at a young age which is considered to be a life changing event by societal standards. The main source of Holden s problems comes from result of the death of his little brother Allie who had Leukemia and his inability to cope with it. Despite many differences that the main protagonists have, it is true to say that both Juno and Holden go through times of struggle. Although it is clear that the main characters struggle more than the average teenager, ultimately both the novel and movie outlines what occurs to teenagers going through a phase in their lives. Both Holden and Juno suffer through psychological struggles while they try to figure out what they want in life. In both the movie and the book both characters try to be as original as possible, however this leads to the characters isolating themselves from society and the people around them. They sang popular songs such as Bruno Mars, Cher, and even film scores from The Sound of Music and DreamGirls . I thought it was great for the event to have interpreters there. Since taking ASL, when I see an individual signing, at the appropriate moment I would try to understand what they are communicating to learn more signs and to better understand how to communicate to other individuals who are deaf. I would look at the interpreter instead of paying attention to those who are hearing, for instance I was watching the interpreter throughout the event or in class when professor Chuck was signing while watching the film Sound and Fury . The different signs I learned were song, hills, the phrase say what , 16 going on 17 , loud, either, and Monday. • 14. Stigmatization Of Madness In Don Quixote Our delight in or respect for his madness and its wonderful connections to the imagination does not take away from our genuine pain at his humiliation. Though Don Quixote is humiliated on every page of the book, it is only in this п¬Ѓnal humiliation when he becomes a rational observer of his past insane life and views it with profound regret that we actually enter into real sympathetic pain with him. Until this point, he is an object of our mirth. Once he becomes aware that his perception of reality was in error and that his actions were, therefore, not a product of his autonomous self, we feel genuine compassion for him. His realization that his hyper vigilance about his dignity as a knight errant was delusional is a serious indignity for him. He has been in error about reality, and everyone has known it except for him. People have gone along with him in a patronizing way. In Cervantes s Don Quixote, we can see remarkably clear pictures of both the kind of unfair stigmatization of madness that McKay and Mitchell decry and the essentially demeaning nature of insanity to which Gardner and Macklem draw our attention. Don Quixote is treated with astounding cruelty. He is made an object of ridicule and trickery by almost everyone he meets. As Nietzsche says: Today we read Don Quixote with a bitter taste in our mouths, almost with a feeling of torment, and would thus seem very strange and incomprehensible to its author and his contemporaries: they read it with the clearest ... Based on this theory, we can assume that the family of the Yazdegerd III, with their treasures, was fleeing from the Arab invaders to a safer place far away from Pars, the heartland of the Sasanians, towards XorДЃsДЃn in the northeast of Iran. According to the shrines legend, when Yazdgerd s family reached to a mountainous area, called AghdДЃ,the pursuers got closer to them. Then, the priests of this shrine became aware of the story adjusted for ДЂnДЃhid s old shrine at Ray. Therefore, a similar belief gradually grew among them that the shrine they served was dedicated to a historical figure linked with the Yazdgird s family. Furthermore, it is probable that Muslim s coercion expedited the Zoroastrian s tendency to believe this story in order to protect the former ДЂnДЃhid s Shrine. Finally, Boyce (1967, p. 40 42) poses that, at an early stage, the legend of BДЃnЕ« Pars was imitated for PД«r e Sabz, probably because it was also a shrine of ДЂnДЃhid. Later, at late nineteenth century and during the time of literacy, variants of the original legends, developed for the other major shrines. As it is mentioned before, lack of evidence enters us into the realm of speculation in which all of the above theories can be partially true. Here, I do not want to support or refute any of these hypotheses but rather, I want to remind one important point; there is no necessity to find the origin of something in a glorious ancient past. In fact alarming trends emerging throughout the post communist region reveal that women stand to lose many of the rights to which they were formerly accustomed. Danforth when looking back, glimpses the ancient castle of Kadath, home of the Great Ones and a part of the dreamland dimension, a place mentioned in old Pnakotic whispers (Lovecraft, 69). • 21. Advantages Of The French Presidential System France 1.After reading about Britain s parliamentary system, as well having a familiarity with the United States presidential system, the French semi presidential system is more effective than the United State s system, and I would prefer this system. The semi presidential system is a bit more complicated than every other system I have learned about. The French system uses a mixture of the premier as well as the president. Under the president is the cabinet and ministries. The president serves as a guide for the nations versus a supreme leader (Roskin 87 8). I would prefer this system to the United States system. This is because of the advantages of the semi presidential system. Some of the advantages include the fact that the president and the parliament do not serve the same amount of time on their terms. If there are people serving on each side who are not serving to the best of their ability, they can be taken out of power. It would not be at the same time, which is an advantage because the ideas of the new person serving could work with the ideas of the person serving along with them. This way, a whole fresh set of new ideas does not come in at one time. The president currently can serve two consecutive five year terms, while the prime minister has no outlined term limits. For the prime minister to stay in power they must maintain the support of the National Assembly. (Roskin 80 82). There are new ideas flowing in either every five years or every ten. This is just one advantage to this system. Another advantage to the semi presidential system is the multitude of ideas that are able to come through. There are so many people who are able to contribute to the semi presidential system, that every voter s idea should be represented. On the other hand, a disadvantage to the semi presidential system is the fact that there are multiple representatives. The multitude of representatives can have too many ideas, and it can be hard to get things accomplished when all of their ideas are pinned against each other. Overall, I would prefer this method of governance because despite the multitude of ideas, more is able to get accomplished. 2.The French have a large bureaucracy, which runs welfare programs, supervises ... • 23. Importance And Importance Of Assembly Line Importance of the Moving Assembly Line and the Model T Ford Before the world entered into the Industrial Revolution, all goods were made by hand and took weeks to months to produce. After the Industrial Revolution had begun, the first concept of the assembly line was created. The assembly line was comprised of each individual worker doing a certain job of producing a single part of the final product. Prior to Henry Ford, assembly lines involved horses carrying parts from one worker to the next to create the end product. The implementation of Ford s moving assembly lineestablished a world where mass production found widespread popularity for being the dawn of the automotive industry due to its many benefits. Prior to Ford s moving assembly line, the Model T was a luxury only accessible to the wealthy, yet it later became a car for all. The Model T was a car that followed the production of the Model N both of which were meant to be cheap in comparison to earlier automobiles. In the aforementioned scene, Mr. Yunioshi s apartment is exceedingly stereotyped, because his mattress on the floor signifies that (in terms of socio economic class) he s poor, while the decorations in his apartment, such as the lanterns and various plants, are used to overly emphasize that he is Japanese.
