The wind instrument I will be researching in this experiment will be the pipe organ,
commonly used in cathedrals and churches. Pipe organs produce sound by pushing
pressurized air through a set of flue pipes.
Flue pipes usually have a circular cross section and are mostly made of wood or
metal. One pipe can only produce one pitch, so to produce a range of pitches an
organ will have multiple sets of pipes called stops. Organs can have as little as 12

Discussion
After looking at the results, it is easy to see that as pipe got shorter, the fundamental
frequency increases. A 0.340m length pipe gave a frequency of 236Hz, while a
0.100m length pipe gave a frequency of 714Hz.
Conclusion
The results shown above prove the proposed theory to be correct.
If I were to do this experiment in the future I would use multiple pipes of different
lengths rather than using a piston to alter the length. I think this would give more
accurate results. I would also consider using pipes of different materials to see if it
has any effect on the results.

poverty. It was such a coincidence that I was assigned to play the role of a public
school teacher in the Poverty simulation. This paper explains my actions and

Participant Observation Methods
I found that the participant observation method was the most helpful and easiest
method to use. I was able to talk with the firemen about their experiences and see
how they interacted. I also worked out with them and sat around talking with them.
This method allowed me to get information about their interactions because I could
easily observe them talking amongst themselves and to me. One of the downsides of
this method was that I could not record information as I was observing. Writingdown
what they were saying and what was going on would seem rude and would be hard to
do. I had to wait until leaving the firehouse before recording what happened. This led

In his writing, A Practical Companion to Ethics, Anthony Weston explains people are
more judgmental and it causes a lot more problems than solutions. Anthony Weston
feels Ethics requires us to be mindful thinkers, because it helps fight unjust
prejudgment. I personally feel this could help fix court systems, federal, and state
wide corruption. Most importantly being a mindful thinker could help businesses.

personal feelings from past beliefs, as well as, prejudgment in our interactions with
others. We need to ask one s mindis it right to do, or say. Is my conscience clear in

problem solve. Letting our emotions get in the way of our thinking for a positive
outcome is okay. As he reaches out to open minds on having more than one
possibility to help solve a problem, when one is in an emotional state of mind, it
can alter our way of thinking morally. Does redirecting a situation when emotions
are high make it an ethical decision. Let us compare this to family court, when
parents are bashing each other to look better than the other parent, is it the right
thing. Does this help escalate their situation or make it worse? Our ability to
problem solve has gone hay wire in today s court systems, maybe. Having angry
and sad emotions help give a direct understanding to equal morals. Overlooking
