Demarco s Systems Analysis Method Essay
Outline the structured specification produced by DeMarco s systems analysis method.
What do you think are the main advantages of specifying a computer based system by means of
such a structured specification?
How adequately, do you think, does this method deal with the human aspects of information
systems changes?
According to DeMarco s structured analysis, it is a study of a problem leading to the specification
of a new system prior to implementation of that system. DeMarco also makes it very clear in his
book (The Structured Analysis and System Specification a Yourdon Book) that the most important
product of the analysis phase of the life cycle is the specification document. Different organizations

Decision Tree is a graphic presentation of a Decision Table.
The qualities of DeMarco s Structured Specification can be summarized in 7 steps:
1. It should be graphic: An easy to understand presentation of the subject matter is depicted by
Data Flow Diagrams. DFDs give a meaningful picture of what is being specified.
2. It should be partitioned: The system is decomposed into processes. The processes are the basic
elements on the Data Flow Diagram.

Glaxosmithkline s Financial Performance
GlaxoSmithKline s Financial Performance.
GSK is the 2nd largest pharmaceutical firm in the world, and the largest in the UK by sales and
profits, it is responsible for 7% of the worlds pharmaceutical market, and has its stocks listed
both in UK and US (O Rourke, 2002). The origin of the so called blockbuster model, is partly
linked with Glaxo (as it was previously known). In the early 80 s, then Glaxo brought to light
their first blockbuster drug, Zantac, which was an anti ulcer drug, which was very similar to the
a pre existing drug Tagamet (first ever blockbuster) sold by Smith Kline French, their completion
at the time (MONTALBAN and SAKINÇ, 2011). The introduction of this drug, brought about an
increasing sales force in the US, the company soon became dependent on the drug, because it
represented a large part of their profit. In 2002, 8 blockbusters of GSK contributed to $14.240
million sales revenue, taking up 53% of its total ethical sales (Froud et al 2006). However, due to
the nature of the pharmaceutical industry, the patent began to expire, in other to avoid the patent
cliff, Glaxo merged with Wellcome in 1995, which ensured a growing number of sales force, and
with Beecham in 2000 (Froud et al., 2006) this merger, boosted the confidence of investors, by
growing the business inorganically. For Big Pharma, this block buster model is very profitable,
because with the high cost of R D, the drugs are able to generate ample profit, to cover the sunk
costs

Inter Country Adoption Is Becoming More Prevalent Among...
Inter country adoption is becoming more prevalent amongst American citizens. The process of
adopting a child from another country can be tedious, but the very particular precautionary
measures and steps are set in place to ensure not only that the child s best interest are at the center
of the adoption but to also ensure that the adoptionis legitimate in both the country of origin and in
America. The process of adopting from countries that have ratified The Hague and non Hague
countries are different and will be outlined below.
The Hague was ratified in 2007 in the United States and outlines the procedure for inter country
adoption for citizens of countries that have adopted it. Before an adoption can take place, it must
be established that the child is adoptable, meaning that the proper authorities have made efforts in
pursuit for the child to be adopted within the country and that the child does not have a suitable
family to care for him. (Article 4) After the child is deemed adoptable, with the child s best
interest always at the forefront, one needs to attain consent in writing from the birth mother and
the proper authorities, it is forbidden for such consent to be induced by payment of any sort.
(Article 4) Also, after weighing the factors of the child s age and maturity, the child needs to be
counseled, his wishes and opinions need to be considered, and only after he has freely consented
without any form of bribe, then the process can continue. (Article 4)

Wings
Wings The film I watched was available on Netflix. Wings is a 1927 silent film produced by
Lucien Hubbard and directed by William Wellman. This film was popular in the late 1920s
because its was one of first kind of its genre. Wings was more of a dramatic type movie with little
components of a slapstick film. Mise en scene was a major part of the movie because Wings was
a silent film. Wings was the first film of many things, including awards and filming techniques.
Wings was a popular movie because of the aviation type movie. This fit in the 1920s era because of
World War 1. World War 1 started in 1914 and ended in 1918 allowing the story to be based of the

There were parts in the movie that were meant to be humourous. The movie starts off with a
young man working on his car, having funny slapstick components. However, throughout the
movie the characters become more involved and serious. Because of the long film this was built
up seamlessly. The movie also incorporates a love story in it. As the movie progresses one of the
main characters show the idea that he won t make it . This later than is followed through and is
accidentally killed by his friend. This was a peak in the movie as a dramatic genre movie. At the

were emphasized. Throughout the movie props were used to tell a story with each item having a
significant meaning. The composition of the film outstanding. It provided the viewers at the time

Racism And Environmental Racism
Kids with itchy skin and watering eyes, beneath the weight of polluted skies. Of lead, zinc,
cadmium, PCBs, and arsenic too. Makes clear skies hard to view... These harsh words, by poet Dr.
Bunyan Bryant, articulate the urgency of toxic waste and its relationship with environmental
justice. As America moves forward in creating our carbon footprint and continued wasteful
throwaway culture, it is more evident than ever that nature can, and will be destructed while large
corporations pocket huge financial gains (Bullard Johnson, 2000). Meanwhile, Americans continue
to create mass amounts of waste, and technology continues to advance and become more efficient.
However, the American lifestyle, efficiency, and advanced technology don t come without price, a
fee that is unfairly affecting minorities and the communities they live in, leaving them in some of
the most industrialized or broken down environments (Maroko, Weiss Riley, Reed, Malcolm,
2014). This idea, better known as environmental racism, was first coined in the 1980 s and is now
responsible for levels of inequality between racial boundaries and devastating health disparities
(Puido, 2000). As America continues to grow, it is more evident than ever that individuals are
being robbed of something as basic as the right to breathe clean air. Problem Identification
According to researcher, scholar, and professor at the University of Michigan, Dr. Bunyan Byrant

Use Of Hypnosis And Medical Practice
The Use of Hypnosis in Medical Practice
A literature review
Ashley Gowty 10207287
For centuries hypnosis was far from being part of the scientific world. But in the last couple of
decades its reputation has moved from that of cult practise to a highly recognised psychological
practice. Recently there has been an emerging trend using hypnosis in a physiological manner; this
review will look at how hypnosis is currently being used in the medical field. Looking at what
exactly hypnosis is and its therapeutic uses, it s use as a treatment for pain relief and reflecting on
how hypnotizable the general population is.
The literature reviewed is generally definitive in the nature of hypnosis. Bryant and Mabbutt
(2006, p. 12) describe it as ... a state of mind connected to deep relaxation, narrowed focus, and
increased suggestibility. They also suggest that Hypnosis is an intermediate state between sleep
and wakefulness. Bryant and Mabbutt s description is echoed by Cyna, McAuliffe, Andrew who
apply the use of hypnosis to the clinical setting (hypnotherapy) and suggest that it is used to to
achieve specific therapeutic goals such as the alleviation of pain or anxiety. (Cyna, McAuliffe,
Andrew, 2004). Staff at The Mayo Clinic extend upon the defination of hypnosis by stating that
Hypnosis is intended to help you gain more control over undesired behaviours or emotions or to
help you cope better with a wide range of medical conditions. (Staff, 2009). They continue by

Acquired Immunity

Artificial
Active Active immunity happens when the person s immune system is being unprotected directly
to a deteriorated form of the pathogen and responding by developing immunity to the agent.
Naturally acquired active immunity occurs when the person is exposed to a live pathogen,
develops the disease/disorder, and becomes immune because of the primary immune response. This
is a perfect example of the chicken pox.
Artificially acquired active immunity can be induced by a vaccine. A vaccine stimulates a primary
response against the antigen without causing symptoms of the disease. This is the perfect example
of a flu shot.

Ways in which Blake Uses Images of Animals and Plants Essay
Ways in which Blake Uses Images of Animals and Plants
William Blake was born in 1757 in London and died in 1827. His most famous works are called
Songs of innocence and Songs of experience . Songs of innocence written in (1789) were easy to
understand, very simple vocabulary, simple verses, with ideal, happy and pastoral locations. In
Contrast Songs of experience written in
(1794), had more difficult ideas and vocabulary, with negative views, which where realistic and
sad. In this essay I will be studying how
Blake uses animals, plants and the natural world to create pictures for the reader of what he thought
life was like in eighteenth century
England. I will be comparing, The Echoing Green , The Garden of
Love and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This creates an opening picture for the reader and places them right into the poem itself, which is
a very good technique adapted by Blake to attract attention towards the poem, also which has
been used in number of Blake s poems. Some examples of this technique are, Skies, which shows
that the sky must be blue, as it has been used in this context, hinting towards the fact that it s sunny
and hot. Also we have spring as another example that backs up my previous point of the location
being sunny as the season that is currently running is spring . Birds, show that there are not just
people there but also animal life forms that give the location a natural and more rural feel. Lastly
moving on to a quote which is also used within the title, Echoing Green. this quote constantly
reminds the reader that the is masses of green around, almost as if it was
echoing to you. Furthermore this is a very vital time of the year as it is the time of new life and
new flowers, this is the time when the birds start to chirp, and then the flowers start to blossom.
Also this is more the reason why this poem has been included in the innocence section, as it shows
time of joy and happiness. These are all from the first stanza, which already creates a pastoral scene.
The first stanza has an AABBCCDD rhyme scheme, or also known as rhyming couplets. This type
of rhyming poetry was

They care about each other and can t live separately. Why? Because they believe in working
together to face the rude life of the Amazon Forest. At this point, we can say that their lifestyle is
a bit similar to ours but we really ignore the huge value of the forest as they do. The technology
in general, is known as an application of science or knowledge, in order to perform a specific
function and achieve a goal. The invisibles use their knowledge by making for example, knives,
arrows ... but the Westerns use it for big investment such as building a dam. Actually, our
Tommy has been kidnapped while watching his father directing the construction of a huge dam.
When the invisible people see the young boy, they figure out he would be better off with them
rather than with The Termite People. The name given to the white men, greedy developers, who
seem to devour and destroy all the trees as the termite insect. As a conclusion of the meaning of
technology, the westerns enjoy using the technology because it helps them to develop and have
better life. But, the invisibles disagree with it and can do miracles to stay safe from termite
people. You can see that in the end of the movie when Tommy prays for frogs believing that when
frogs sing it rains. And rains will make a flood that could tear down the almost complete dam. It s
one of the art of fusion with spirits revealed in the culture of the invisibles, such as merging with
spirit of an eagle, to know

Analysis of Romance of Resistacne by Lila Abu-Lughod
The Romance of resistance is an article which is written by Lila Abu Lughod in regard with the
different forms of resistance among the Bedouin women and the traditional structure of power
among the Bedouin Community in the Egypt s Western Desert. She arrived in late 1970 to begin a
fieldwork, and she discovered different forms of resistance among the Bedouinwomen. In this
Article she emphasis on how the Bedouin women resisted the decision of their fathers, uncles, and
older brother, how the resisted the sexually segregation, and sexually irreverent discourse.
Furthermore, it also talk about how local communities are being incorporated into modern states
and integrated into a wider economy.
The first one is sexually segregated, since the community is rule and influence by man particularly
elder so it led to Defiance and women merely take the advantage of secretly like meeting friends or
visiting healer and even sometimes smoking secretly. This shows how women are restricted. The
second form of resistance is girls and women resistance to marriages. Where women have no
control over the arrangement of the marriage but only elder man or relative like uncle and father
decide even they were intimidate and force to marry a person older in age than them. But sometime
girl s mother take stands and refuse the male decision as author mentioned the story of her host that
the mother refused the decision of his husband in regard with marriage of her daughter. Also there

American painter, printmaker and filmmaker from 1928 until 1987. There is no date on this

With each view having different ideologies when viewing an image, the artist in this case has left
the power of his influence up to the value of the viewer. Ideologies are produced and affirmed
through the social institutions that characterize a given society, such as the family, education,
medicine, the law, the government, the entertainment industry, among others (p.23). As a hockey
player and coach, I would view this image of a hockey fight as a natural progression of the game.
If a person, ignorant to the game of hockey viewed this image, they may take offense or even be
upset with the turn of events of the game. It is interesting that the there are a series of pictures
called the Hockey Game created by Warhol, not all at the same game but showing different events
of a game through this TV screen. I think the power of the series would give a viewer a much
more vivid image or representation of hockey than the one specific image I choose a given instance
in time.
The second visual concept that will aid in the explanation of my visual analysis is the concept of
realism and perception. Art and images are in one view, a practice dedicated to the visual and
material reproduction of things and events in the world. In this view, we might say that there are
things in the world and then there are their representation . (p.143). It is

Why I Should Be A Teacher
I want to be a teacher to continue to serve. I have served twenty years as officer in the United
States Army and I want to continue to serve others in a different capacity. Through my time in
service and later as member of the civilian work force I have seen the struggles of workers and
employers as they struggle to find sustainable matches. One of the answers to this struggle a is
better prepared work force. However, there are segments of our country that have been
systematically left out, and I wantto address that.
I grew up in Seattle during the de segregation, and it was normal for me to be the only black kid
in my class. As society around me came to grips with the change in the city, I had to go to
school. I could wait for programs and understanding to take hold and remove the old ways. I was
labeled one of those kids , a disruptive child in the class, until at the behest of my parents and
school administrators, I was tested. The test show I was not challenged by the normal material
which lead to the behavior and soon I was challenged.
However, my story doesn t end there. I still had to face the challenges that our current
disadvantage students face and there was a time where my future was in question. However, by
the grace of a few dedicated teachers, I was able to overcome my obstacles and find some success
in the classroom, because of that I want to pay it forward to the next generation. Because of the
efforts of so many, I have gone on to earn my

Becoming A Knights Essay
The knights were the third level of feudal society in Europe. Knights were usually vassals who
paid protection and loyalty to their lords in return for land. They were warriors in armor who
fought on horseback and had to have a good deal of wealth in order to afford a full suit of armor
and a horse. Knights wore coats of armor made from metal links called mail and carried swords
and shields. A knights tactic when fighting in war was that he would charge at his enemies then
spear them with his lance. During the time period of AD 700s to AD 1200s, the knights were
the most powerful soldiers in Europe. Becoming a knight in Europe was a very tough task that
started at a very young age. In the beginning of the dreadful path to becoming a knight, a boy was
served as a servant that was also known as a page. The boy left home to live at a castle of a lord...

A page at a young age learned how to ride a horse and received religious instruction from the
local priest or friar. Pages mostly spent their times with the ladies of the castle during the first
stage of knight training. They had to help the ladies in every way possible. In return, ladies
taught the pages how to sing, dance, compose music, and play the harp, which were skills
valued in knights. The young boy then became a squire after seven years of being a page. In this
part of training, the young boy spent most of his time with the knight who was his lord instead
of the ladies. With the knight, he polished the armor, sword, shield, and lance. The young boy
also then helped care for the knight s horse and even waited on him at mealtime, carrying water
for hand washing and filling his empty cup. Besides the fact of serving the knight who was his
lord, the squire trained to become warriors. During this part of the training, the squire learned
how to fight with a sword and a lance, which was a type of spear that was up to fifteen feet long.

Chivalry Code
However, Chaucer not only recognized pride within the hierarchies of the common man, but also
recognized the immorality of the knighthood. Knights were usually born into their class and raised
to serve their lords, thus decorating them with a sense of nobility and pride (McLean and Signman
18). Because of their role of protection, knightswere commanded to adhere to a code of conduct.
According to the book, What Life Was Like In the Age of Chivalry, this code of conduct was
constructed by the king and enforced the idea of a strict sense of honor, morale, and duty (53).
This code of conduct was vital for the morality of the knights and was commonly believed to be a
mechanism used to elevate the status of women; however, according to Natalie Demasi, chivalry
isn t about women at all. It is a code written for knights, for the men. Chivalry s true purpose was
meant to elevate the religious and social status of male knights, not the women. This... Show more

While Dorigen, the wife of the knight Arviragus, laments over her husband s absence, Arviragus
is calm, not inclined to worry about whether anyone had spoken to her of love (Chaucer 469).
Arviragus doesn t waver in his trust, for he believes that Dorigen would never betray his love
since he is a noble knight; however, despite the love they share, Dorigen still barters a deal with
another squire for her love. Chaucer was able to recognize the irony within the knighthood and thus
produce a tale in which the Knight, haughty in his mindset of his social status, did not realize the
unfaithfulness of his own wife. Because the knights were regarded as the ideal warrior and man,
pride naturally formed in their behavior. Therefore, Chaucer portrayed the hypocrisy within their
ideals and attacked the knighthood and its social structure in regards to the falsehood of

Questions On Attitudes And Attitudes
For this assignment, I was assigned to take some assessments regarding some prejudices I might
have. In my opinion, I do not think if it matters whether we are black, white, catholic, or gay or
straight. Everyone regardless of certain demographics has some prejudice thoughts that are present
in their mind. Those prejudices do not mean that we are racist or discriminatory. For the most
part we base those prejudices on stereotypes that are not even true. From this website I had
personally taken three different assessments. These assessments had included prejudices on
sexuality, race and weight. First, the weight assessment gave me results I was not surprised
from. The majority of these questions were related to my tolerance towards overweight people
compared to thinner individuals. In any event, my results had indicated that I have a stronger
preference for thin people then I have for those who are overweight. However, I think that it is
important to note that I used to be overweight. Two years ago I weighed in at 220 pounds at my
heaviest. Today, I have been able to maintain my current weight at around 170 pounds. I lost the
weight through a lot of dedication and changing my life habits. For this reason, part of me is
prejudicetowards overweight people in a sense as my results had indicated. This is because to a
certain extent I see being overweight as being a life choice. For pretty much my whole life until a
couple of years ago I had choose to be overweight. But then

The Stress Self Assessment Focused On My Stressors Essay
The Nature of Stress self assessment focused on my stressors. I learned that most of my stressors
were chronic; mainly dealing with school and socializing. The stressors were categorized as
mental and spiritual, although I did notice missing family and friends could fall under spiritual
and emotional. Another thing I learned was most of my stressors were caused from my move to
Bismarck. For example, living far from home, new job, and not having close friendships. This
form of assessment didn t work for me because I found I was focusing on the negative and felt
more stressed after seeing all my stressors in a list. The Signs of Stress assessment focused on
my personal symptoms of stress. I previously noticed these happened, but I never drew the
connection to stress. For example, I normally have very clear skin, but every once in awhile I ll
break out. The effects of stress are physiological. Now that I have a list of my signs of stress, I
am able to recognize when situations like break outs happen what is really going on. The
Personality Survey was to determine if I had a hardi personality. Before starting the assessment, I
predicted I would be classified with the hardi personality because I handle stress well. The
categories I scored highest on were I consider myself an optimist , I approach new situations with
the idea that I will learn something valuable , and I am strong willed . The one I resonate with
most is the one about new situations because I moved to

Segmentation
There are companies that base their segmentation on specific countries, or regions, however, the
other type of companies mostly focus on life cycle segmentation. Swatch do not focus on regional
segmentation because consumer of Swatch products can be anywhere in the world.
Swatch concentrates on life cycle and age segments. They believe that model and design,
technology, and materials used for production of goods are based on these factors. For example,
Swatch has Creart by Swatch line, which is designed by artists, especially street painters for
teenagers. At the same time they have Full Blooded collection, which consists of more classic
watches mostly designed for adults. Further, Swatch produces special products for special

How Is Crane-Man In A Single Shard
Crane man, one of the lead characters in the novel A Single Shard, undergoes several changes from
the beginning to the end. Two of his main traits are his selflessness and his independence.
At the beginning of the novel, Crane man is seen as selfless; because, although he is crippled, he
takes in a young orphan named Tree ear. There are many ways Crane manshows his selflessness.
For an example, when Tree ear went on his long journey, Crane man made Tree ear take all of the
food instead of giving half to Crane man. On page 102, Crane man says, Are you thinking of me,
my friend? Do not worry. I fed myself and you, for that matter for many years before you worked

Free Trade Agreement and Its Affect on Canadian Business...
Free Trade Agreement and Its Affect on Canadian Business
With the coming of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) there have been very serious implications for
Canadian business and for that matter, Canada as a whole. Many aspects of the previous economic
climate have changed such as the reduction or eliminatation of tariffs and the restrictions on
subsidies to name only a few. There has been much heated debate on the pros and cons of this
deal: whether Canada will prosper or become the 51st. American state. This paper will not take
this approach to the issue of whether or not it is a wise agreement, but will look at what business
can do to better itself with the existing FTA.

Another reason for a dire need for an increase in efficiency is the trade relationship we are
currently involved in. While countries in say the EEC are in more or less the same economic
power bracket between Canada and the US, there is a major size difference. So if we are to have
any hope of competing with a power so large clearly we must become more efficient even more so
than other countries.
Another key aspect which business must deal with is that of becoming better suited to dealing with
the North American, and to a lesser extent, other foreign markets rather than only to Canadian or
even in some cases, to provincial markets. Corporations which do so stand far better of to gain
from the FTA than those that do not. It would be wise for the example of
Northern Telcom Ltd. to be followed. Where production and market presence are global and not just
Canadian. Unfortunately many companies are not following this example and are still very much
Canadian in their outlook.

Islam And The Beliefs Of Islam
Though Islam is usually defined in today s society as a religion that actualizes a terrorist cult
called Isis. Terrorism is defined as where men and women go rogue and commit acts of evil. Islam
is not that, nor does it create terrorists. Terrorists are not following Islam. Killing people and
blowing people up and dropping bombs in places and all this is not the way to spread the word of
Islam. So people realize now terrorists are not Muslim. Muhammad Ali. The strong person is not
the good wrestler. Rather the strong person is the one who controls himself when he is angry.
Unknown. Islam in America has gotten a bad rep because of the terrorist group known as Isis .
Isis claims they pursue the faith of Islam and always take the Credit when an attack happens on
the peoples, or a country. In the following paragraphs I plan on separating Islam into three
defining categories that are the following Devotion, Peace, and Balance. Devotion is a
characteristic of many of the followers of Islam have. Devotion is defined as the love or
enthusiasm for or about a person, activity, or cause. In the Muslim faith followers must be
devoted to the words of Allah and follow them vigorously. In Islam followers must be devoted
because they must follow every command in order to reach their version of heaven. They must
pray every day and go on some pretty daring adventures, including fasting and migrating to another
city. Peace, it is a feeling every human and animal deserves to feel.

Thesis Statement On Capitalism And Capitalism
Introduction
Socialism and capitalism are two concepts that are used by governments in respective countries
regarding how the economies operate. The two concepts are based on political, economic and
social systems. The United States of America is an example of a capitalist country while Sweden is
a socialist nation. Apart from the similarity in which the government plays a role in the
effectiveness of the two systems, there is no discrimination in both systems regarding race, color or
other arbitrary classification. There are notable differences between the two systems based on
ownership structure, equity, and employment.

What health issue is being addressed by this expo?
Mental health has always been identified as one of the main areas for action in the National Health
Priority Areas (National Health and Medical Research Council 2016), and depression is one of the
most prevalent chronic conditions amongst the young Australians (Australian Institute of Health
and Welfare 2017). Depression is a debilitating condition that substantially impairs individuals
ability to function and cope with their daily life due to the experience of negative feelings
(NHMRC 2016). Also, depression and suicidality have a close correlation as eighty percent of
reported suicide incident was due to the burden of depression (World Health Organization 2017),
and suicide is the second leading cause of death in youths in Australia (Reddy 2010). Moreover,
depression can be inherited in a family through either biological or psychological way (Rahman et
al. 2008); hence, youths who have the family with depression history tend to be more vulnerable
and have a higher chance to get depression comparing with children from healthy family (Rice
2010). Therefore, this expo is set up for raising community awareness in the burden of depression
and reducing the growth of emotional and developmental dysfunction in youths and their families
through providing a comprehensive research study in related the health problem and proven

The beach in Hilton Head Island in South Carolina is certainly my favorite place to go. It is the
greatest place to be. Maybe it is the sense of relief with you see the alluring island or maybe it is

reasons why Hilton Head Island is my favorite place.
As I lay in the red, thin material, swaying hammock next to the roaring ocean water, I begin to
relax. I listen to huge waves hit against the rocky wall that connects the grassy ground to the light

rushing waves and the warm misty breeze causes my eyes to get very heavy almost as if I have a

Changes In The Endocrine System
The endocrine system is made up of organs and tissues that produce hormones. Hormones are
natural chemicals produced in one place, secreted into the bloodstream and then used by other
organs and target systems. Hormones control the target organs. Some organic systems have their
own internal control systems in place of the hormones or together with them.
As we get older, natural changes occur in the way in which body systems are controlled. Some
target tissues become less sensitive to the hormone that controls them. The amount of hormones
produced can also change. The blood levels of some hormones increase, those of others decrease
and those of some others remain unchanged. Hormones also break down (metabolize) more slowly.

This region produces hormones that control other structures in the endocrine system. The amount of
these regulatory hormones remains almost the same, but the response from the endocrine organs
can change as we get older. The pituitary gland is also located in the brain. This gland reaches its
maximum size when people reach middle age and then gradually becomes smaller.
The thyroid gland is located in the neck. This gland produces the hormones that help control the

with time, beginning around 20 years of age. Because thyroid hormones are produced and broken

Ecosystem services are defined as the direct and indirect benefits to human well being that are
derived from ecosystems and ecosystem function (Gomez Baggethun and Barton 2013, TEEB

species that make them up, sustain and fulfill human life (Daily, 1997, p. 3). The ecosystemservice

including data cataloguers, toolkits that allow one to model ecosystem service flows for a site,

Apple In China Case Study Essay
1. Introduction
With the economic globalization, More and more multinational enterprises expanded their business
abroad by using different market entry strategy. As Lechner and Boli (2012) claimed that the
world economic trends and cycles of the past two decades have made it increasingly apparent that
the production and distribution of goods take place in complex global networks that tie together
groups, organizations, and regions. In this paper, we focus on the IT Industry which is more and
more popular in China, and then analyzed four giant IT guys: Apple, IBM, Dell and Samsung. They

Among these are competitive strategy, political and social ideology, institutional, and cultural
barriers that are difficult for Western firms to overcome. (Yaprak, 2012).
In sum, the key to effective entry into emerging markets appears to lie in overcoming both the soft
entry barriers through advancing managerial understanding of the institutional contexts of these
markets, and surmounting the hard entry barriers, both structural, such as cost, capital, and product
differentiation advantages established by the incumbents, and strategic, such as those that are
purposefully erected by the incumbents. (Yaprak, 2012).

Coincidental Jinx Research Paper
A Coincidental Jinx
Throughout my many years of living, I have experienced many near death experiences. Today, I
will be sharing one of these experiences that I have been through. First of all, it was the March
23, 2012. It was a Friday. I, young Daryl, was still learning his basic math with a bowl cut on his
head at the age of 11. School ended. My sister Gerryl and I were just picked up around 3:20 p.m.
and arrived home approximately at 3:25 p.m. My sister Gerryl suggested with eagerness, Mom,
Dad are we able to watch that new movie that just came out today, The Hunger Games? My father,
then replied, Sure, let me just get my computer and reserve the movie for the four of us. The time
was then reserved at 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon. We... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I decided to sit in the front as the navigator alongside with my father having possession of the
wheel. As my father was driving, my sister was explaining why she is so excited to watch the
movie. My sister then proclaimed, It s a movie that is based on the novel written by Suzanne Col .
At that moment my sister stopped midway through her conversation, pointing with fear at a
motorcyclist having blood gushing through his leg. The man glanced deep into my eyes, and I
thought in my mind that will never happen to me. It was a tragedy when I observed the accident,
and I was acting a bit too conceited. Two miles had passed the traffic from this accident was
tremendous, a full stop. Luckily, my father spotted in the corner of his pupil that the nearest lane to
the sidewalk was accessible, and nobody was driving on it surprisingly. We went ahead to move
to the right, changing lanes carefully to reach the lane. At that instant, my dad then increased
speed to 45 miles per hour to get to the theatre slightly quicker. As we were advancing through
this lane at immense speed, a Toyota Civic with a brown tint then tried to change lanes. My dad
was furious that he did not want the car to cut him off when it was his right of way. My dad then
commented with a temper, No! Stomping on the gas pedal, he increased his acceleration to a
rushing 75 miles per hour to prevent the car from cutting us off. The car continued to change
lanes carelessly without a turn signal. At that moment, all I remembered was glass being
shattered everywhere. My heart then stopped, and I was whiplashed with massive force having
my head collide with the dashboard. Furthermore, all I saw was pitch black, and I did not know
what was happening. After six minutes have passed, I regained some consciousness, shaking my
head and trying to gain coordination with my eyes. All that I could hear is an old woman s voice

Media s Effect On Teenage Girls
Pressure to Look Perfect Growing up surrounded by media brings pressure to teenage girls to
have what society defines as the ideal body. As a teenager one wants to fit in with the most
popular group. Recent movies like Mean girls and 16 wishes have shown the role of the popular
girl to be thin, beautiful, and smart. As a media consumer, females assume that if they achieve
this look they will become popular as well. Many teenagers go through stressing situations in
order to accomplish the ideal body image. For instance, many teenagers develop eating disorders
or go through plastic surgery. Today in social media, we see celebrities going through dramatic
changes; like lip injections, face thinning, hair/eyelash extensions, tummy tucks, breast
enlargement, etc. Now everyone uses social media in order to see each other s life, and one
tends to follow their favorite celebrities. By following these celebrities, one sees their changes
and wants to go through the same procedures in order to fit in to what society defines beautiful.
Teenage girls are pressured from the media to have the ideal body. Eating disorders have been
going on since centuries ago; however women started becoming self concerned with their body
starting in the 1900 s. In the article Distorted Images: Western cultures are exporting their
dangerous obsession with thinness Joan Jacobs mentioned A man was seen as a good provider

The Falsity Of Robert Nozick s Experience Machine
In his 1974 book Anarchy, State and Utopia, philosopher Robert Nozick offers the experience
machine as a thought experiment designed to argue the falsity of prudential hedonism. Nozick asks
us to imagine an experience machine whose sole purpose is to provide individuals with any
desirable or pleasurable experiences they want. The problem arises when we must ask ourselves if
we would enter the machine. Although Robert Nozick s experience machine presents us with a
realistic virtual reality, it is missing something other than experiences, providing us with no reason
to plug into the machine.
The experience machine thought experiment is designed to give you any experience you desire.

Hedonism states that pleasure is the good, meaning that any unit of life that is not pleasurable
does nothing directly to increase one s well being. The experience machine works under the
assumption that if a reasonable and informed subject, i, would choose S over S , then S would
contribute more to i s wellbeing than S (Baber 133). If all that mattered to us was pleasure then
we would want to plug into the machine. But there is something other than pleasure that has
intrinsic value, which can be used to increase our well being. Consequently, we do not want to
plug in. Most individuals, as it turns out, favour hedonically inferior states of doing and being
than life in the machine, so we are supposed to conclude that hedonism is false. According to
Nozick, three things matter to us, in addition to one s experiences and what one is like, that he
believes are missing from a life in the machine. The first is our desire to actually do certain things,
not just experience them. The second is our aspiration to actually be certain people, not just a blob
in a tank with dubious
significance. The third is our desire to be limited by reality as it
actually is, not just a reality that we as
humans can conceive of (Nozick

In spite of the fact that every component of mise en scene is consolidated with different components
to make a particular climate in each film, concentrating on components of mise en scene

concentrating on the setting of a scene, the audience can recognize the careful significance of the
time and place that he is indicated with the goal that he can consider the scene in relationship to the
correct chronicled or social connection. Custom, such as setting, helps the audience comprehend the
activity of a scene in connection to a bigger setting. It additionally permits the filmmaker to create
critical character attributes in his characters. By studying each of these elements as separate entities

Analysis Of When The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In...
For decades discrimination has been continuously growing, being angled at minority groups. These
negative outlooks have created many barriers and disadvantages, with society, for those belonging
to different cultures. Each set of characters within the stories are created with different
backgrounds, but live with similar expectations and struggles. These barriers occur in day to day
activities and interactions, affecting individuals, and creating negativity. Paul K. Chappell once
said, To truly listen to others, we must develop empathy. If we do not empathize with people, we
cannot really hear what they are saying. When we do not listen with empathy, we hear only their
words (Chappell). White reading each short story, Amy Tan s Two Kinds, and Sherman Alexie s
When the Lone Rangerand TontoFistfight in Heaven, the reader is able to connect the stories
characters through race, culture, and ethnicity to create that feeling of empathy Chappell was trying
to introduce.
In the stories, two kinds and The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, we see how the
families each are treated poorly because they are of different races. In two kinds the family is a
Chinese family. When moving to the United States Tan must change to look more like an
American girl so they cut her hair. Tan explains her change by saying, I now had hair the length
of a boys, with straight across bangs that hung at a slant two inches above my eyebrow (516).
Tans original look made her stand out too much compared to an American child. By cutting off
her hair she felt that she could finally become perfect (516). By explaining the drastic changes
they felt were needed Tan is showing how far individuals are willing to go in order to be
accepted. In The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven the characters is spoken poorly to
by an officer. When found driving around late at night the main character is told you should be
more careful where you drive, says the officer continuing with, your making people nervous. You
don t fit the profile of the neighborhood (35). The young man is being told that people are afraid
of him because of how he looks. The color of his skin or the length of his hair automatically make

How Has Space Exploration Changed Over The Years
Space exploration has changed drastically over the years. One of the main reasons for this is the
development of new technology. Scientists are constantly researching new topics and discussing
ways to improve spaceflight and space exploration. Not only has the design of various space crafts
changed, but the way space missions are carried out has changed. With new technology, scientists
back at NASAare able to take control of space missions to ensure the astronauts are safe.

Nursing is a career full of stressors. Every day nurses deal with some type of stress and they can
become emotionally drained. Nurses are the support system for the patients and their families,
they watch patients suffer, and sometimes they even care for patients who are terminally ill and
dying. The modern world of health care and tightening budgets are resulting in additional work
related stressors such as barriers to providing optimal care, increasingly complex needs of patients,
short acute care lengths of stays, the need for increased knowledge of ever changing technology,
nursing shortages, poor staffing, long work hours, limited resources, and feelings of lack of control

the left washing the feet surrounded by his disciples, the women in the background at the table,

Health Care Financing And Economics
Health Care Financing and Economics Health care systems around the world are struggling with
rising costs and unequal quality of care and many solutions like error reduction, enforcing practice
guidelines and implementation of Electronic Medical Records were tried without much effect
(Porter Lee, 2013). The primary goal of any Country s health care system is to provide high
quality and cost effective care, which produces quality patient outcomes for all. The 2010
Washington Post Article states that the treatment of Prostate Cancer with Provenge will incur a
cost of $93,000 per patient to extend life by four months (Stein, 2010). However, there is no
guarantee about the quality of life that will be available with this drug to the terminally ill patients.
Provenge is a not a preventive medicinebut is therapeutic and is given after diagnosis of Prostate
cancer is confirmed (Stein, 2010). Hence, the ethical dilemma arises whether it is feasible to
spend such a large amount to increase life expectancy by four months of a patient who is already
affected and terminally ill or whether that amount should be spent on research to find a drug that
will prevent prostate cancer and lead to cost savings in the future. More finances should be
available for researches that support preventive medicine, which will help to cut down health care
costs and the research

It is a world of pretence filled with the illusion of fairytale. Baz Luhrmann creates the world of
ballroom dancing to be very stylised, intimate and gracious. This can be seen in a scene of dancers
in black and white at the beginning of the movie, with the silhouette of the dancers. The choice of
song The Blue Danube Waltzby Johann Strauss II supports the glamorous world of ballroom
dancing. The costumes of the ballroom dancers used in the movie are cartoonish in the way they
look, where girls wear feathers, elaborated hairstyle, all puffed up and very bright coloured
dresses. However behind the gracious and attractive exterior, there is a world filled with corruption
and intrigue. The shouting of spectators supporting their preferred dancers such Come on number

moves in the ballroom. It turns out that the ballroom dancing world as a world of competition,
where you need to conform to the dances and where individuality is impossible. The important

Baz Luhrmann creates Scott Hasting as a rebel, who dares to dance his own steps, dazzling the
audience with his samba routine earlier in the movie. When Scott decided to do his own Flashy

The Marvel And Dc Worlds
There are multiple imaginary universes that have been created but the most commonly known and
loved, are the Marvel and DC worlds. Marvel and DC are universes where human beings, aliens,
and creatures have powers beyond the realty beaten impossibilities. Behind these creations are
masterminds of the imagination, showing how to overcome any problem thrown at their imaginary
characters. These characters are better known, in general, as superheros and villians. The main
difference between these named superpowered heroes are which group they belong to, The Justice
Leaguethat was created by DC, Detective Comics, or the Avengers which was created by Marvel.
Marvel has many different people that contribute to the making of their characters but the main
person who gets most of the credit is former chairman of Marvel, Stan Lee. Stan Lee is well known
author, publisher, editor, television producer and actor. He made many hero groups such as the
fantastic four and the X Men but the one that has launched itself as the biggest group are The
Avengers. The Avengers are Stan Lee s prize turkey. Not only has this group of heros brought
Lee s name into fame, but it gave him great money. Without Lee, the Avengers world would be
nothing and some would say, vice versa. DC, or Detective Comics, does not have a well known
face like Marvel but instead many hard working employees that have come together to create
worlds that compete well with Marvel s. DC s president of the company is Diane

True Lies
One can argue that the veracity of autobiographies, by nature, is extremely deceptive. The vast
majority of the facts contained within them are colored, quite naturally, by the perceptions and
interpretations of the author. The tendency to take liberty with the truth is often exacerbated when
the author of such works has an affinity (or perhaps gift) for the written language, such as is the
case with both Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein, who produced fairly unconventional
autobiographical works entitled A Moveable Feast and The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas,
respectively. The proclivity to glorify one s own actions and deeds in effect to make oneself appear
cool is often an irresistible temptation, especially for those writing about people (including
themselves) whom posterity admires, such as the lost generation of expatriate American writers
living in Paris in the early part of the 20th century. In light of that fact, it is interesting to note that
both Hemingway and Stein create an image of their

GSK is the 2nd largest pharmaceutical firm in the world, and the largest in the UK by sales and profits, it is responsible for 7% of the worlds pharmaceutical market, and has its stocks listed both in UK and US (O Rourke, 2002). The origin of the so called blockbuster model, is partly linked with Glaxo (as it was previously known). In the early 80 s, then Glaxo brought to light their first blockbuster drug, Zantac, which was an anti ulcer drug, which was very similar to the a pre existing drug Tagamet (first ever blockbuster) sold by Smith Kline French, their completion at the time (MONTALBAN and SAKINГ‡, 2011). The introduction of this drug, brought about an increasing sales force in the US, the company soon became dependent on the drug, because it represented a large part of their profit. In 2002, 8 blockbusters of GSK contributed to $14.240 million sales revenue, taking up 53% of its total ethical sales (Froud et al 2006). However, due to the nature of the pharmaceutical industry, the patent began to expire, in other to avoid the patent cliff, Glaxo merged with Wellcome in 1995, which ensured a growing number of sales force, and with Beecham in 2000 (Froud et al., 2006) this merger, boosted the confidence of investors, by growing the business inorganically. The process of adopting a child from another country can be tedious, but the very particular precautionary measures and steps are set in place to ensure not only that the child s best interest are at the center of the adoption but to also ensure that the adoptionis legitimate in both the country of origin and in America. The Hague was ratified in 2007 in the United States and outlines the procedure for inter country adoption for citizens of countries that have adopted it. Before an adoption can take place, it must be established that the child is adoptable, meaning that the proper authorities have made efforts in pursuit for the child to be adopted within the country and that the child does not have a suitable family to care for him. • 6. Racism And Environmental Racism Kids with itchy skin and watering eyes, beneath the weight of polluted skies. Of lead, zinc, cadmium, PCBs, and arsenic too. Makes clear skies hard to view... These harsh words, by poet Dr. Bunyan Bryant, articulate the urgency of toxic waste and its relationship with environmental justice. As America moves forward in creating our carbon footprint and continued wasteful throwaway culture, it is more evident than ever that nature can, and will be destructed while large corporations pocket huge financial gains (Bullard Johnson, 2000). Meanwhile, Americans continue to create mass amounts of waste, and technology continues to advance and become more efficient. However, the American lifestyle, efficiency, and advanced technology don t come without price, a fee that is unfairly affecting minorities and the communities they live in, leaving them in some of the most industrialized or broken down environments (Maroko, Weiss Riley, Reed, Malcolm, 2014). This idea, better known as environmental racism, was first coined in the 1980 s and is now responsible for levels of inequality between racial boundaries and devastating health disparities (Puido, 2000). As America continues to grow, it is more evident than ever that individuals are being robbed of something as basic as the right to breathe clean air. Problem Identification According to researcher, scholar, and professor at the University of Michigan, Dr. Bunyan Byrant defines environmental racism as, an extension of racism that ... But in the last couple of decades its reputation has moved from that of cult practise to a highly recognised psychological practice. Recently there has been an emerging trend using hypnosis in a physiological manner; this review will look at how hypnosis is currently being used in the medical field. Looking at what exactly hypnosis is and its therapeutic uses, it s use as a treatment for pain relief and reflecting on how hypnotizable the general population is. The literature reviewed is generally definitive in the nature of hypnosis. Bryant and Mabbutt (2006, p. 12) describe it as ... a state of mind connected to deep relaxation, narrowed focus, and increased suggestibility. They also suggest that Hypnosis is an intermediate state between sleep and wakefulness. Bryant and Mabbutt s description is echoed by Cyna, McAuliffe, Andrew who apply the use of hypnosis to the clinical setting (hypnotherapy) and suggest that it is used to to achieve specific therapeutic goals such as the alleviation of pain or anxiety. (Cyna, McAuliffe, Andrew, 2004). His most famous works are called Songs of innocence and Songs of experience . Songs of innocence written in (1789) were easy to understand, very simple vocabulary, simple verses, with ideal, happy and pastoral locations. In Contrast Songs of experience written in (1794), had more difficult ideas and vocabulary, with negative views, which where realistic and sad. This creates an opening picture for the reader and places them right into the poem itself, which is a very good technique adapted by Blake to attract attention towards the poem, also which has been used in number of Blake s poems. Some examples of this technique are, Skies, which shows that the sky must be blue, as it has been used in this context, hinting towards the fact that it s sunny and hot. Also we have spring as another example that backs up my previous point of the location being sunny as the season that is currently running is spring . Birds, show that there are not just people there but also animal life forms that give the location a natural and more rural feel. Lastly moving on to a quote which is also used within the title, Echoing Green. this quote constantly reminds the reader that the is masses of green around, almost as if it was echoing to you. Furthermore this is a very vital time of the year as it is the time of new life and new flowers, this is the time when the birds start to chirp, and then the flowers start to blossom. Also this is more the reason why this poem has been included in the innocence section, as it shows time of joy and happiness. These are all from the first stanza, which already creates a pastoral scene. The first stanza has an AABBCCDD rhyme scheme, or also known as rhyming couplets. This type of rhyming poetry was ... They care about each other and can t live separately. Why? Because they believe in working together to face the rude life of the Amazon Forest. At this point, we can say that their lifestyle is a bit similar to ours but we really ignore the huge value of the forest as they do. The technology in general, is known as an application of science or knowledge, in order to perform a specific function and achieve a goal. The invisibles use their knowledge by making for example, knives, arrows ... but the Westerns use it for big investment such as building a dam. Actually, our Tommy has been kidnapped while watching his father directing the construction of a huge dam. When the invisible people see the young boy, they figure out he would be better off with them rather than with The Termite People. The name given to the white men, greedy developers, who seem to devour and destroy all the trees as the termite insect. They were warriors in armor who fought on horseback and had to have a good deal of wealth in order to afford a full suit of armor and a horse. Knights wore coats of armor made from metal links called mail and carried swords and shields. A knights tactic when fighting in war was that he would charge at his enemies then spear them with his lance. During the time period of AD 700s to AD 1200s, the knights were the most powerful soldiers in Europe. Becoming a knight in Europe was a very tough task that started at a very young age. Knights were usually born into their class and raised to serve their lords, thus decorating them with a sense of nobility and pride (McLean and Signman 18). Because of their role of protection, knightswere commanded to adhere to a code of conduct. According to the book, What Life Was Like In the Age of Chivalry, this code of conduct was constructed by the king and enforced the idea of a strict sense of honor, morale, and duty (53). This code of conduct was vital for the morality of the knights and was commonly believed to be a mechanism used to elevate the status of women; however, according to Natalie Demasi, chivalry isn t about women at all. In my opinion, I do not think if it matters whether we are black, white, catholic, or gay or straight. Everyone regardless of certain demographics has some prejudice thoughts that are present in their mind. Those prejudices do not mean that we are racist or discriminatory. For the most part we base those prejudices on stereotypes that are not even true. From this website I had personally taken three different assessments. These assessments had included prejudices on sexuality, race and weight. First, the weight assessment gave me results I was not surprised from. The majority of these questions were related to my tolerance towards overweight people compared to thinner individuals. In any event, my results had indicated that I have a stronger preference for thin people then I have for those who are overweight. However, I think that it is important to note that I used to be overweight. Two years ago I weighed in at 220 pounds at my heaviest. Today, I have been able to maintain my current weight at around 170 pounds. I lost the weight through a lot of dedication and changing my life habits. • 33. Islam And The Beliefs Of Islam Though Islam is usually defined in today s society as a religion that actualizes a terrorist cult called Isis. Terrorism is defined as where men and women go rogue and commit acts of evil. Islam is not that, nor does it create terrorists. Terrorists are not following Islam. Killing people and blowing people up and dropping bombs in places and all this is not the way to spread the word of Islam. So people realize now terrorists are not Muslim. Muhammad Ali. The strong person is not the good wrestler. Rather the strong person is the one who controls himself when he is angry. Unknown. Islam in America has gotten a bad rep because of the terrorist group known as Isis . Isis claims they pursue the faith of Islam and always take the Credit when an attack happens on the peoples, or a country. In the following paragraphs I plan on separating Islam into three defining categories that are the following Devotion, Peace, and Balance. Devotion is a characteristic of many of the followers of Islam have. Devotion is defined as the love or enthusiasm for or about a person, activity, or cause. In the Muslim faith followers must be devoted to the words of Allah and follow them vigorously. In Islam followers must be devoted because they must follow every command in order to reach their version of heaven. They must pray every day and go on some pretty daring adventures, including fasting and migrating to another city. Peace, it is a feeling every human and animal deserves to feel. ... Maybe it is the sense of relief with you see the alluring island or maybe it is when you roll down your window smelling the salty ocean water with the warm breeze hitting your face, making your hair fly all over the place. Relaxing, sunbathing, and swimming are all reasons why Hilton Head Island is my favorite place. As I lay in the red, thin material, swaying hammock next to the roaring ocean water, I begin to relax. I listen to huge waves hit against the rocky wall that connects the grassy ground to the light blue ocean water. The longer I lay there the wind begins to pick up causing the hammock to sway more and more almost touching the tall, wide trees that are holding it up. The sounds of the rushing waves and the warm misty breeze causes my eyes to get very heavy almost as if I have a weight on my eyelids weighing them down. Hormones are natural chemicals produced in one place, secreted into the bloodstream and then used by other organs and target systems. Hormones control the target organs. Some organic systems have their own internal control systems in place of the hormones or together with them. As we get older, natural changes occur in the way in which body systems are controlled. Some target tissues become less sensitive to the hormone that controls them. The amount of hormones produced can also change. The problem arises when we must ask ourselves if we would enter the machine. The experience machine works under the assumption that if a reasonable and informed subject, i, would choose S over S , then S would contribute more to i s wellbeing than S (Baber 133). If all that mattered to us was pleasure then we would want to plug into the machine. But there is something other than pleasure that has intrinsic value, which can be used to increase our well being. Consequently, we do not want to plug in. Most individuals, as it turns out, favour hedonically inferior states of doing and being than life in the machine, so we are supposed to conclude that hedonism is false. Bertin tended to paint pictures of subject who are religious, mythological, and allegorical. This painting in particular portrays Christ washing Saint Peter s feet right after the Last Supper. There is a strong focal point in this painting and it is the man standing in the red robe with his hand on his chest. There is also a lot of activity in this painting as well because there is Christ to the left washing the feet surrounded by his disciples, the women in the background at the table, and the man to the right fixing his shoe. Bertin used a lot of facial expressions for each of the people in this painting from puzzled to humiliation. The size of this oil on panel painting is 1 ft 7.5 inches by 2 ft 4.75 ... • 54. Health Care Financing And Economics Health Care Financing and Economics Health care systems around the world are struggling with rising costs and unequal quality of care and many solutions like error reduction, enforcing practice guidelines and implementation of Electronic Medical Records were tried without much effect (Porter Lee, 2013). The primary goal of any Country s health care system is to provide high quality and cost effective care, which produces quality patient outcomes for all. The 2010 Washington Post Article states that the treatment of Prostate Cancer with Provenge will incur a cost of $93,000 per patient to extend life by four months (Stein, 2010). However, there is no guarantee about the quality of life that will be available with this drug to the terminally ill patients. Provenge is a not a preventive medicinebut is therapeutic and is given after diagnosis of Prostate cancer is confirmed (Stein, 2010). Hence, the ethical dilemma arises whether it is feasible to spend such a large amount to increase life expectancy by four months of a patient who is already affected and terminally ill or whether that amount should be spent on research to find a drug that will prevent prostate cancer and lead to cost savings in the future. More finances should be available for researches that support preventive medicine, which will help to cut down health care costs and the research ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a world of pretence filled with the illusion of fairytale. Baz Luhrmann creates the world of ballroom dancing to be very stylised, intimate and gracious. This can be seen in a scene of dancers in black and white at the beginning of the movie, with the silhouette of the dancers. The costumes of the ballroom dancers used in the movie are cartoonish in the way they look, where girls wear feathers, elaborated hairstyle, all puffed up and very bright coloured dresses. Marvel has many different people that contribute to the making of their characters but the main person who gets most of the credit is former chairman of Marvel, Stan Lee. He made many hero groups such as the fantastic four and the X Men but the one that has launched itself as the biggest group are The Avengers. The Avengers are Stan Lee s prize turkey. • 57. Analysis of The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas and A... Hi, This is not a rewrite request. I fulfilled all of the instructions in the original assignment which were to provide a thesis that answered the prompt and to provide examples that supported the thesis. Had I not fulfilled those instructions, you would not have turned the paper in and received this additional feedback from your instructor. This additional feedback warrants an additional assignment. You should place another order for more pages. Thanks. True Lies One can argue that the veracity of autobiographies, by nature, is extremely deceptive. The vast majority of the facts contained within them are colored, quite naturally, by the perceptions and interpretations of the author. The tendency to take liberty with the truth is often exacerbated when the author of such works has an affinity (or perhaps gift) for the written language, such as is the case with both Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein, who produced fairly unconventional autobiographical works entitled A Moveable Feast and The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas, respectively. The proclivity to glorify one s own actions and deeds in effect to make oneself appear cool is often an irresistible temptation, especially for those writing about people (including themselves) whom posterity admires, such as the lost generation of expatriate American writers living in Paris in the early part of the 20th century. In light of that fact, it is interesting to note that both Hemingway and Stein create an image of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
