Prison Has A Huge Problem Within The United States
The United States is the world s leader of incarceration with 2.2 million people in jails and prisons;
having an increase in population rate of 500% over the past thirty years (The Sentencing Project,
2014). Of the 2.2 million individuals in these facilities, over one million are mentally ill persons.
According to the National Institute of Corrections, mentally ill offenders have strained the
correctional system. Since the deinstitutionalization of mentally ill from public hospitals in the
1990s, civilians with mental health issues are more likely to be free in the community, without any
programming and are more likely to inflict in criminal behavior. The prisonpopulation rate for
mentally ill offender makes up more than half the overall population. 78,000 in Federal prison,
705,600 in State prisons, and 479,000 in local jails. Overcrowding prison has become a huge
problem within the United States, which lead to seeking in alternative options. Since there isn t
enough space or resources applicable to provide for all those who are diagnosed with mental issues,
a shift to community supervision have taken place; probation and parole being the greatest form of
supervision. The National Institute of Corrections continues to state how parole and probation are
overrepresentation of those who are mentally ill, with rates two to four times greater than the
general population. Even with this being true, the combination of the cost of imprisonment,
treatment needs and

Impact Of Childhood On British Romantic Poetry
The Impact of Childhood on British Romantic Poetry How did changing ideas in regard to
childhood shape the newly developing Romantic style in poetry and literature? During the 19th
century, the subject of childhood sparked debate among society (Metz). According to popular
Enlightenment thinkers of the age, and a majority of society, youth had been considered as
essentially just smaller versions of adults. That is to say, children were seen as young adults that
simply lacked life experience, but were still mentally and physically capable of dealing with adult
problems and responsibilities. This was eventually brought into question as the Industrial
Revolution was set in full swing and working class children were sent off to make money for their
families (Reynolds). People began to question the ethics of exploiting children as factory workers
that had to be exposed to dangerous, physically taxing, and often traumatizing conditions. At the
same time, a new literary movement was beginning to form. In reaction to the logic, reason, and
lack of emotion brought on by the Enlightenment and Neoclassicism (which was prevalent in
society and literature at the time), the Romantic era began. Romantic writers rejected the ideas of
Enlightenment thinkers and favored emotion and imagination above strict logic and reason. As a
result, many Romantic poets and writers began to question the idea of children and adults being
functionally and emotionally equal to each other. This emerging idea

Marvel Comics Research Papers
Looking for the top 3 best Marvel comics plots? Most of them are in the comic book literature.
While others can be found in the movies but this list will make it easy for you to round up.
With the Marvel Cinematic Universe expanding, the platform is looking at a wide web of story
arcs. There are multiple ways a super hero dies (and lives). These versions have different time
lines and even histories, but there are only a few that can become the top 3 best Marvel comics plots.
Still, there are those that look at the comics as its main source of interest and recreation. Which is
why here are the top 3 best Marvel comics plots (and some are even in the movies):

Aside from that, she is in the hearts of both Cyclops and Wolverine. But after discovering the
Phoenix within her, she turns evil.
In the X Men: The Last Stand, Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) becomes a powerful entity that burns
everything around her. It is much the same in the 1980 comics. It is a pivotal moment for fans to
find out that their favorite character can become evil and think themselves a god.
#1 The Infinity Stones
Now, the Infinity Stones are a subject of interest in all the Marvel movies. There is a tidbit here
and there that rounds up all of the Marvel characters together.
But many do not understand that the Infinity Stones is not about power. It is a courtship between
Thanos and Death. Thanos yearns for Death s affection and the only way he can do that is to collect
the stones and form the gauntlet.
The Infinity Gauntlet will enable Thanos to kill billions and even trillions of lives, all of which
will be given as gifts to Death. This is considerably one of the most insane courtship rituals in the
Marvel Comics and one that stands out most of the Avenger films.
Eventually, the movie will close the story of the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Infinity War,
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor:

America s Influence On World Music Essay
In this essay I will be talking about America s influence on World music and how World music has
an influence on American music. I will also discuss how the transistor radio effected this cross
pollination.
America had a huge influence on World music due to the influence of us giving music an actual
name. Some cultures did not even have a name for music. Through a wide range of genres,
America has been the supreme leader of modern music. America has shaped how we listen to
many genres of music, from pop to even folk. For example, punk was an American creation that
was impacting on global music trends. Such as, The Lower East Side and Velvet Underground.
While folk and punk represent one element of American influence on modern music, the greatest
influence has probably been jazz. Jazz was an art form that differed significantly from all of its
predecessors. It began the new era that was able to fuel folk, punk, hip hop and many other
groundbreaking American genres. Part of the reason for America s success in music, could be the
country s consistent output of new sounds and genres. For instance, Hip Hop took its mark on a
new American genre and now it has gained huge success around the ... Show more content on

they showed rhythmic ideas. They also showed call and response patterns, love of instruments and
improvisation. They brought a strong interest in music and a desire to involve listeners in the

not influential to American music, some are very influential. African American music and Mexican
music are very influential in American music and has shown the backgrounds of many Americans.

Thomas Jefferson And The American West
Even as a young boy in the Virginia frontier, exploration and the pursuit of knowledge captivated
the imagination of Thomas Jefferson. His father, an experienced cartographer and explorer, is
often cited as the inspiration for Jefferson s fixation on the West. As he grew older, Jefferson
realized that the American West was not an empty wilderness, but a land crowded by conflicting
nations and claims of sovereignty that only a few fur traders had experienced. Once Jefferson
acquired the Louisiana territory from Napoleon in 1803, he sent an expedition led by two of his
colleagues, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, with the mission of quenching his thirst for
knowledge. The official goal of the expedition was to explore the newly purchased territory, but
Jefferson had other goals as well. He asked Lewis and Clark to take careful observations of the
natural resources and geography of the West to see what economic possibilities existed in the
area. Jefferson realized that the Natives Americans in the area needed to be informed about the
purchase and that the United States would be a larger presence than before. He sent the
expedition to establish good relations with the various tribes. They had a planned speech for each
tribe and gave medals to all of the chiefs to signal the goodwill of the Americans. An added bonus
to the new friendships between Americans and Indian tribes is less trade for the French and British,
who, up until now dominated the trade in the Great Plains.

John Froelich built the first gasoline powered tractor in Clayton County, Iowa, USA. John
Froelich was a grain elevator operator, and every harvesting season he would go a thresh farmer
s fields, and after years of using his bulky, heavy steam powered threshing machine he decided in
1890 to try and mount a gasoline engine on his threshing machine. The steam powered threshing
machine was bulky, hard to transport, and dangerous to use in the fields. Since the thresher was
steam powered it was hot, and created sparks that sometime light the fields on fire. John Froelich
was sick of dealing with this dangerous machine and decided to mount a gasoline powered engine
on it. His idea worked and he harvested 72,000 bushels of grain in all. ( John Froelich, inventor of

Cleft Lip
Introduction
Cleft lip is formed when a baby s nose and mouth do not form properly in the womb. These
children are born with deformations to the mouth and nose. There are four main types of cleft lip
that involve incomplete single and double clefts and also complete single and double clefts that
cause deformations completely into the child s nose. This can cause complications for the child to
eat and breathe properly, but a series of surgeries can fix this complication. The cleftlip is basically
a split in the lip of a baby that occurs on one side or both sides of the nostrils and if completely
formed as a cleft the splits will go all the way into a child s nose or nasal passage and cause
damages to the roof of the mouth (cleft palate). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Atticus Moral Courage
The word courage may conjure up the typical images of soldiers fighting a war or firefighters
saving houses. While these are courageous acts, they represent merely one type of courage. In To
Kill A Mockingbird Harper Lee showcases an alternative type of courage, moral courage, through
two main characters and their selfless but righteous actions. Throughout the book, Atticus is
illustrated as a compassionate and intellectual man, withholding high standards and morals. These
same morals drive Atticus to selflessly defend Tom Robinson. He does this despite knowing he s
got everything to lose from taking the case (Lee pg.146). Furthermore, Atticus is aware of the jury
s bias and the likely conviction, but if he didn t try to defend Tom, he couldn t... Show more content

Living in a revolutionary time, Lee undoubtedly witnessed moral courage as numerous civil rights
activists fought for equality. One iconic activist, that is the epitome of moral courage, is Rosa
Parks. In 1955, six years prior to the publication of To Kill A Mockingbird, Rosa Parks fearlessly
refused to give up her seat for a white person. Fully aware of the negative repercussions she could
face for this, she still defended her morals. In fact she faced continued harassment and threats in the
wake of her boycott but this did not deter her from living in alignment of her principles
(History.com Staff). Furthermore, she defended her beliefs because she tired of giving in ,
demonstrating how this action required tremendous will power and bravery (History.com Staff).

undeniable moral courage strongly parallels

Brunswick High. Emergency Procedures
Brunswick High
Emergency Procedures are located in the Policies and Procedures section. They are divided into 4
sections: Fire Safety Guidelines, Emergency Drills, Response to a Violent Incident (can be a
student disruption), and a crisis policy. The fire safety guidelines were more about the type of
equipment that could be used in the classroom, while emergency drills were broken into fire drills
and tornado drills.
Similarities and Differences
The similarities between Goodyear Elementary and Brunswick High were the fact that:
Both had a section in the handbook for emergency procedures that included fire drills, tornadoes,
procedures for death, suicide, and major student disruptions/response to violent incidents, and crisis
information
Copies of the Glynn County Emergency Procedure and exit routes are posted in the classrooms, and
Emergency procedures are explained on the first day of school.
While the elementary school provided a short description of their emergency procedures, it stated
that more information could be found in the Crisis Management Plan (also included in the Staff
Handbook). What s strange is that although a crisis management plan has been created, fire drills
were not better described nor mentioned all; not even the sound signal to look for. In the event of a
fire, younger students usually need more attention to care and calm down. Therefore, it would have
been helpful to cover fire procedures more thoroughly. In the high school handbook, the

A Summary Of Ethical Issues In Counseling
The first ethical issue that counselors have to worry about in counseling children is to be a
competent counselor. It includes that the counselor must be familiar with child and adolescent
development. Also, in order to be competent in counseling children, a counselor must frequently
participate in trainings, specialized education, and supervised practice (Henderson Thompson,
2011). Another ethical issue in counseling minors is privacy and confidentiality. According to the
American Counseling Association (ACA) (2014) Code of Ethics, when counseling minors a
counselors protect the confidentiality of information received (ACA, 2014, B.5.a). Counselors also
have responsibilities with the child s parents such as inform parents about the role of counselors
and the confidential nature of the counseling relationship (ACA, 2014, B.5.b). When a counselors
needs to release confidential information, he needs to seek permission from the child s parents,
legal guardians, or the appropriate third party in order to disclose the information (ACA, 2014,
B.5.c). According to Henderson and Thompson (2011), children have to have their parents consent

Counselors can be guided by the professional code of ethics, which are common standards
designed to guide professionals through the most common difficulties in practice (Ponton, Duba,
2009). Ethical principles just guide counselors on the better decision. In other hand, in legal
issues counselors are supposed to follow the law. A counselor must be aware of the federal, state,
and local legislative bodies laws that concerning children. It is important a counselor know what is
the age that a minor become an adult in the state where his practice is located, for example.
According to Henderson and Thompson (2011), some states recognize that a minor become an
adult at age 18 and in others at age

Similarities Between Modernism And European Modernism
World War I, along with World War II and the rise of Marxist Leninist states in Russia and China,
is one of the defining moments of the 20th century. Parts of Europe lay in devastation and the
United States found itself in an increasingly prominent place on the world stage. The United States
decision to intervene in World War I meant that American soldiers would be fighting in foreign
lands under brutal conditions. All aspects of society were rapidly changing as developments in
technology and changing economic conditions redefined every part of everyday life. These
developments along with World War I allow for the birth of Modernism. Modernism represents the
uncertainty drudgery of contemporary life and the desire to achieve a new social order capable of
overcoming the failures of the past. Ernest Hemingwayand F. Scott Fitzgeraldpresent readers with
two different accounts of modern life rooted in the same context of American life. European
Modernism and American Modernism, while sharing broadly similar characteristics, engage in
different projects. In Europe, T.S. Eliot and Ezra Pound found potential solutions in
Conservatism (involving Eliot s concern with tradition) and new modes of organic social
organization (represented by Pound s acceptance of Fascism). The Dadaists and Italian Futurists
adopted a subversive and negative eye towards the present in desire for the future. Abstract
artists and atonal composers were examining ways to represent a search for truth in a way that
overcame the bourgeois art and music of the past. In America, life was dominated by an
explosion of wealth and prosperity in the wake of World War I. In some instances, soldiers and
citizens became expatriates. Hemingway and Fitzgerald stand out as representatives of two parts
of American Modernism. Fitzgerald focuses on life in the United States in all of its excess and
search for deeper connection amid vapidity. Hemingway shows the life of the post war American
who is aware of the change in the world and strives for enjoyment and direction in activities like
bull fighting, hunting, love, and drinking. Fitzgerald s Winter Dreams and Hemingway s Hills Like
White Elephants exemplify both author s different focus and account

the company has have taken the initiative to reduce the impact we as human beings create on the
earth by reducing paper by going paper less, composting, using vegetable based inks etc. Reuse
this is done by reusing materials whenever it becomes possible. The company provides the use of
reusable grocery bags to its customers, new stores are constructed with reclaimed wood and
bricks and also the installation of rain water collection systems to reuse rain water for non
consumable purposes is being practiced. Recycle this is done through the utilization of the delivery
trucks which backhauls waste to regional facilities where it is turned into compost and donated to
community gardens or stores. Other methods of recycling is done by replacing disposable batteries
with rechargeable ones, using recycled paper with a high percentage of post consumer waste

The United States Of America Essay
A crash in america may be coming a lot sooner than many people think. The United States of
America is facing problems a lot of people are either unaware of or just dont think its a big deal.
Most of america think that our economy and government is in alright financial shape, That may
not be the case though. America is in bad shape and it seems to be going down hill. America is
declining in world power as well and this is just another factor leading to a crash in the future.
Other nations are growing a lot more powerful than they have been in the past causing very big
problems as a nation.
There are a lot of people that think they have very solid arguments that america is in fine shape
and no one has any reason to worry. They think the problems people talk about are no big deal amd
that the nation can deal with them no problem. These reasons have some truth but for the most part
they have a lot of things that other nations are in control of. The United States debt is over 19
trillion dollars, that is an insane amount of money and it is going up rapidly. People think this is
ok because the US prints its own money so it is in control of its currency and debt. This is not a
very good thing to think because if the United States tried to get out of debt by printing trillions
more dollars than usual there would be a massive increase in inflation. Another argument is that
Obama added to the debt to get the United States out of a recession. He did do this but it also

I think that artificial intelligence as it is presented in the story will someday be possible. In the
present we have Smart TVs with voice recognition which we can interact with. IPhones are
equipped with a form of artificial intelligence that responds to our voice commands. However, God
is the only one that creates real life.
4). Do you think Maddox is right when he claims that Picard is being irrational and emotional in
his view of data?
I would say Maddox is right, a machine can have a brain, but can t have a mind of a human and a
machine can t have emotions and feelings and it s lacking of moral choices and ethical principles.
Therefore, it cannot be considered as a human but only a machine. Picard is really emotional and

How Religion Changes The Societal Behavior Of The...
Observing the daily lifestyles of the individuals from different time periods show a great deal of
how the religion changes the societal behavior of the followers of each religion. The religion s
form of worshipping a God is a reputable indicator of the era s culture. While looking into The Iliad,
we find that the culture of that time highlights warfare and worshipping multiple Gods. This
polytheistic culture differs greatly from the culture of The Torah, which was the first established
religionthat believed in teaching a monotheistic education, believing in one God. Furthermore, one
can see in The New Testament that they also worship one God in addition to following the
teachings of Jesus. This creates a difference in cultures as this changes the way people worship
their God/Gods. The transition into the first millennium brought many changes as new religions
appeared and there became a diversity in beliefs. Through looking at The Homeric Era, The
Hellenic Era, and The Roman Era, the differences within these time periods are shown through the
transformation of each religion s form of worship as a ritual.
In the Homeric Era, society is polytheistic and has a unique set of rituals. In order to worship the
Gods they believe in, they carry out sacrifices and pray to different Gods for different needs. The
Gods will intermittently accept these sacrifices and provide something to the people in return. It is
perceived as an appeal to the Gods as the people believed that when

Essay on U.S. Must Manage Debt to Help the World s Economy
The United States once had the largest economy in the entire world, and when there are
problems with the US economy shock waves can be felt all over the world. The global economy
is inter connected on several levels due to the amount of international trade which occurs. If the
United States does not find a way to manage its debt, or find a way to reduce the debt, it would
increase the cost of finance for business because of the increase in interest rates. This could lead
to high inflation. The stock market would also suffer badly as investors might feel that investing
in the US market was too risky. This would cause the stock markets to fall as investors would take

A London based Wall Street Journal reporter, Charles Forelle warned the enthusiasm over
investing will change dramatically if the shutdown continues, and especially if the U.S.
government defaults on its debt. European markets are currently the most susceptible, and any
delay in the stabilizing the US market will delay economic recovery there as well (Krugman,
1999). According to a senior International Monetary Fund official, in case of a U.S. debt default
the entire global economy will be negatively affected, Stock markets crashes in many countries is
a distinct possibility which will add to the problems of the recession that most of the world is

Lab Report On Redox Titration
Redox Titration
Carmen Ontiveros* Arlette Renteria .
CHEM 1A Lab, Department of Chemistry, California State University, Fresno, CA 93740
Carmenchick@mail.fresnostate.edu
September 23, 2017
The purpose of this experiment was to determine how much KMnO4 was needed to titrate
approximately 1 mL of an Unknow X101 concentrated solution of Oxalic Acid. A standardized
KMnO4 solution was used on a known solution of Oxalic acid to help determine the unknown
percent oxalic acid in unknown X101. The unknown sample for this experiment was sample x101
which theoretically was a % Oxalic Acid dehydrate sample but, the average of all three trials
determined it to be a 6.7% percent Oxalic acid.
Introduction
In this experiment, a redox reaction occurred. An oxidation reduction reaction (redox) is a type of
chemical reaction that involves a transfer of electrons between two solutions. The chemical being
oxidized is losing electrons and the chemical being reduced is gaining electrons. In this case
KMnO4 is losing electrons and Oxalic Acid is gaining electrons. KMnO4 can titrate a or reduce
Oxalic acid. Titration is the technique used to find the unknown concentration of one solution based
on the concentration of a known solution. In equation 2, the molar relationship between the 2 is
shown, it is 2 KMnO4 to 5 Oxalic Acid. The molar ratio relationship is useful because it shows
how much of a certain product is needed to help a reaction occur and which chemical is limiting
reagent. The experiment was started by preparing a titrating strength KMnO4 solution from stock
to a less concentrated KMnO4. Equation one shows how this was done. The KMnO4 needed to
be diluted, if it had not been diluted, then it would be way too hard to get an accurate reading of
the Oxalic Acid used. Without being diluted the Oxalic Acid would be strong. The next step was
to standardize the KMnO4 solution. It was calculated that 37.5 mL of Oxalic Acid could titrate 15
mL of KMnO4. To determine the exact molarity of a solution a standardization needs to happen. In
this experiment the standardization found how much Oxalic acid was needed. Through the
controlled variable, the fact that 37.5 Oxalic acid could be titrated by 15 mL of KMnO4, the
percent of the

Essay On Gay Adoption
Homosexuality defined as being sexually attracted to one s own gender has incessantly been a
compelling social issue. A majority of society sees the wrong sexual orientation as evil or
unhuman, regardless of character content. In April 1952, the American Psychiatric Association
even labeled homosexuality as a mental disorder. Today, same sex relationships have been
normalized and live life as ordinary people, yet treated as second class citizens. This treatment by
society has significantly limited the basic human rights of these individuals, including parenthood.
Should LGBTQ+ be able to adopt children? Do gay parents and guardians effect children
negatively? Adoptionis a lengthy process of legally accepting responsibilities of a non biological
child. While adoption is usually governed by laws that vary from state to state, but there are also
federal regulations. These federal laws are set in place to provide clarity on who can and cannot
adopt, parental rights, consent, the best interest of the adoptees, and the confidentiality of the
adoption. Preceding the adoption process, applicants of every state must undergo an extensive
background check, mental health analysis, an examination of the household s members, and the
finances of the applicant. About 51,000 American children are for adoption each year, according to

How Did Leonardo Da Vinci Show The Mood Of Mona Lisa
Leonardo Da Vinci is a painter of many famous paintings. Leonardo Da Vinci was born April 15,
1452 in a farmhouse nestled amidst the undulating hills in the Italian region of Tuscany. Da
Vinci was the epitome of a renaissance man . After brief stays in Mantua, he returned to France
and worked as a military engineer. Leonardo moved near Amboise in France, where he died on May
2, 1519. Da Vinci is not just a painter, he also worked as a scientist and was an inventor. Leo
applies his skills as a scientists, engineer, and architect to every aspect of his life, including art

Many people debated whether Mona Lisa is happy or sad. According to one credible source It is a
visual representation of the idea of happiness suggested by the word gioconda in Italian (The

her significant smile. Leonardo Da Vinci uses warm and bright colors to show that Mona is happy
but calm. Mona Lisa is painted with a sitter s chest. Sitters chest is a position that is upright and
proper. The nature of the painting also plays a role in the mood of the painting. Nature can

Similarities Between Jazz And Hip-Hop Music
This paper will highlight the similarities between jazz and hip hop music. African American
cultural forms and developments are as vast as they are diverse. However, because of white
America s consistently racist and oppressive treatment of people of color in this country there are
certain commonalities between African American cultures as a result of this continuous
subordination. I am going to display some of these existing similarities within hip hop and jazz
cultures. Albeit they are both musically and culturally different, each emerging out of a specific
historical moment with its own distinct musical and cultural practices, there exists enough
similarities between that two that it seems a comparison is indeed beneficial in understanding and
examining American society in general. The similarities between the two African American
cultures is also quite great. I will ask and answer questions such as: what were the effects the urban
ghettos from which both of these cultures arose out of had upon their initial development, and what
are some ways in which the music of both of these cultures is a form of alternative and self
empowering language?
Throughout the history of this country, the music of Afro Americans has remained a strong
influence upon our society and culture. Beginning with the music carried over from Africa with the
slaves, up until now, with the new styles created by urban youth today, African Americans have
retained certain elements within their music which

Dental Implant Procedure
What To Expect When Your Dentist Inserts An Implant Rod Into Your Jaw
Getting a dental implant requires specialized bone surgery. That s why your general dentist may
not be suitable for the job. You need an implant dentist who has been trained and certified in the
procedure. Here is a quick look at the process you go through to replace a missing tooth with an
implant rod.
Bone Evaluation
Your dentist has to evaluate the state of your bone first. This can be done through x rays and a
physical examination. If your tooth has been missing for a long time, your bone may have shrunk.
When you just have one missing tooth, the implant has to go in one specific area. Therefore, the
bone in the gap has to be thick enough and strong enough to hold ... Show more content on

If that s the case, you will receive a shot in the gum just like you do when you get a filling. If you
have anxiety about the procedure, the dentist may also offer drugs to sedate you. These calm you
and may even put you into a light sleep, but you ll still be alert enough to follow instructions. In
some cases, general anesthesia might be necessary so you sleep throughout the treatment and are
unaware of what is going on. Your dentist will take your preferences into account when deciding
what is best. You may want to avoid a general anesthetic at all costs. On the other hand, if the idea
of bone surgery bothers you, you may prefer to be put to sleep.
The Procedure
First, the dentist has to access your bone. This is done by cutting open your gum and spreading
back the sides. If the bone is flat, the dentist is ready to start drilling into it. If your bone has an
irregular shape, the dentist will contour it first. By shaving off the raised areas, the bone will hold
onto the implant more evenly and will be stronger.
Drilling into your bone requires careful precision. The hole created in your bone has to be the
exact depth and width needed for the implant rod. The dentist will start with a tiny drill bit and
use progressively larger bits until the hole is the right size. The hole is measured periodically with
a measuring pin. The pin checks for depth and alignment of the hole. When the hole is complete,
the dentist may check it with an x ray to make sure everything looks

Discovering Obstacles Hindering College Graduation

bachelor s degree at a four year university, on average, only 59% of them graduate within six years.
It is unfortunate to note that even with the extra two years, students still struggle to persist through
graduation, due to numerous hindering factors. Hence, the issue of college success now lies within
the central realm of scholarly research, with numerous scholars applying previously known
psychological theories to education, including Kurt Lewin s force field analysis model, Abraham

So Trump Makes Spelling Errors Analysis
In So Trump Makes Spelling Errors. In the Twitter Age, Whoo Doesn t? Farhad Manjoo shows
popular spelling errors made by Donald Trump in his tweets, expressing that one puts too much

paying attention to the unvarnished, unfiltered view of [Trump s] or anyone else s mind.
Manjoo, displays in his article several examples of spelling mistakes made by world renowned
politicians and his own spelling errors to demonstrate that criticizing grammatical errors in tweets,
it is elitist and makes one not focus on what people say but leads to losing the grasp of the more

Database Management Systems Or Dbms
Database Management Systems or DBMS are essential software s for databases that take in
information to be processed, organized, and analyzed. DBMS play a significant role in many
things we interact with on the daily like the internet. DBMS can be on a small scale for individual
use or on a larger scale for a company looking to keep track of all the data they collect.
Each database is custom designed for the company, or organization that will use it. Records are
kept in databases and each record is very unique in its own way having different fields for what it
pertains to. Each record has something that makes it unique that the other records don t have.
Text, number, dates, and amounts of money are all different computations for DBMS. All of this
information is separated into fields and this is how Big Data is sorted and accessible and
understandable. The data can be put in manually or sometimes it is computer assisted when it is
more efficient. For example: a program may catch on if you are doing monthly reports and create a
section for all 12 months after one is manually made.
The use of Database Management Systems can date back to 1966. The program was made by
IBM with the help of other companies for the Apollo Program. It was designed to keep track of
the bill of materials for space crafts and other things involving the trip to space. This database used

A Summary Of Misogyny In Henry IV Part 1
In Henry IV Part 1, Shakespeare introduces two relationships that seem to be polar opposites of
each other, the married couple, Hotspur and Lady Percy and the newly wedded couple, Mortimer
and Lady Mortimer. Even though Lady Percy and Lady Mortimer did not have key roles in the
play they were significant to the portrayal of their male counterparts and Shakespeare s portrayal
of misogyny in the late 16th century. In the Elizabethan era, women were considered second class
citizens, and weren t allowed the same rights as men, and that misogynistic behavior resulted in
many unhappy marriages. In Shakespeare s play, Mortimer and Lady Mortimer are the only
characters with a happy relationship because they don t exhibit the same sexist attitude as the other
characters; while Hotspur and Lady Percy s relationship is an example of how England s
misogynistic attitude resulted in an unhappy marriage. Lady Percy and Hotspur s marriage is an
example of misogyny because, even though Hotspur is married to Kate, he refuses to treat her as
his equal and instead insults her when she shows concern for his strange behavior. When Lady
Percy questions Hotspur s behavior, Hotspur tells her that:
But hark you, Kate, I must not have you henceforth question me whither I go, nor reason
whereabout. Whither I must, I must, and to conclude, this evening must I leave you, gentle Kate. I

Race Ethnicity And Gender In The Lowell Factory
While reading the assigned article, I was immediately interested since I am currently learning
about the foundation of women s rights in History. Race ethnicity and gender shaped the
workforce in the early textile mills by paying women half of what they pay males for the same
job. This shows the difference between a primary labor market and a secondary labor market;
The primary market being which men get paid higher wages than those of women. Race also
had an impact on the workforce by immigrants offering to work for such low wages as women
would, sometimes being rejected from any job at all. Women in the Lowell Factory were so
closely supervised because women women who were closely supervised were not able to
organize. Also, they were supervised since that idea appealed to many parents who would send
their daughters to the mills. Some parents would send their daughters to the mills because they
could barely provide for their children. Not many jobs were for women at the time, especially those

First of all, I think that doing mountaineering is a dangerous type of sport because you can put

Everest or when it takes place in winter time, things can fall from the sky and can kill people. In

However, by purchasing imported food instead of locally grown food, the prosperity of local
farmers becomes undermined. This highlights Haiti s lack of self sufficiency as a country. Haiti
has become extremely reliant on other countries for it to barely scrape by. In response to the
horrific earthquake, the world rallied together and pledged over $4.5 billion in aid to help
alleviate Haiti s troubles. Of the pledged aid, $2.3 billion has already been disbursed (Washington
Post). Yet, years after the incident, the country is still struggling to recover. The money is crucial
for restoration, but it does not create opportunities for the people. The unemployment rate before
the earthquake was at a staggering 70 percent (Global Post). Instead of empowering locals,
projects have been created to provide instant, quantifiable results. As the country becomes more
reliant on foreign aid, their development as a nation is hindered. This, in turn, continues the

How Did Prohibition Happen In The 1920s
Prohibition The 1920 s was a crazy decade. Lots of devastating things happened and some good
things happened. During the 1920 s, there was a new amendment created called prohibition the
act of prohibiting the manufacturing, storage in barrels, bottles, and transportation of alcohol. It
was the 18th amendment that was added and it was in place from 1920 1933 before it was put
out of place by the 21st amendment. The reason prohibition happened was because the leaders of
the movement had become alarmed by all the drinking Americans had been doing. They had seen
that it started to become a culture in certain areas and didn t want it to continue. Anyone over 15
could drink and alcoholism was a problem. In the 1900 s a wave of religion and perfectionists had

prohibition and the temperance movement. They saw alcohol as something that destroyed families
and marriages. Lots of Americans were not happy with prohibition. On January 17, 1920

The Lady With The Dog Analysis
The Beauty with the Beast
Anton Chekhov s The Lady with the Dog title seems to point to how the main characters first meet
each other, though the capitalization of the words Lady and Dog might point that it has another
meaning. The title then would not be about how Dmitri first knew Anna, but what their roles are at
the beginning of the story. Dmitri was a dog, a beast, a man who seduces women and when he
received what he wants leaves with just memories of the encounter and no remorse. While Anna is
a lady, mannered, pure, and wholesome. The story follows the two and how their lovefor one
another changes them, from a dog to a man.
Dmitri, before he loved Anna, was a dog, one who looked down on women and only thought of
the pleasures and benefits he could receive from them. Stuck in an unhappy marriage with his
wife to the point that he, did not like to be at home (Chekhov, 62). Dmitri, though enjoys the
company of women, he acknowledged that he could not get on for two days together without the
lower race (Chekhov, 62), the lower race referencing women. Consequently, this disgust of his
own wife and desire for women causes Dmitri to cheat, He had begun being unfaithful to her long
ago had been unfaithful to her often (Chekhov, 62). Dmitri liked to keep all his affairs simple and
amusing, whenever one would begin to be too much work and/or unbearable, he would drop it and
proceed to the next one. Though Dmitri is quite an observant person he would focus on the

Inaccuracies Kingdom Of Heaven
The movie Kingdom of Heaven is about the second crusades. Jerusalem is trying to protect the
Holy Land from the invading Muslims. The two great rulers during this time was King Louis
VII of France and Conrad III of Germany. It is based on historical events. But in there are some
inaccuracies to make the movie better. I am here to tell you about the inaccuracies and to give
you the real facts. Hollywood does it to get a bigger crowd and more money. The first inaccuracy
was that the longbow was being used and it was not created yet. The longbow was created around
the 1180 AD said Max Perham in the English longbow (Perham,n.d).The second crusade was from
the 1145 to 1149. The weapons actually used was shortbows and crossbows, not longbows.

Flipped Advising Model Analysis
Introduction
The aim of this paper is to propose a shift towards a flipped advising model in order to
complement the traditional advising approach in higher education institutions. The flipped advising
model could easily be incorporated into the existing learning management system (LMS) to
provide students with up to date and timely resources (Steele, 2016). This proposed shift could
improve students academic performance while giving them plenty of time to plan their courses in
advance (Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011). Flipped advising approach maintains high quality
resources that are accessible to the students 24/7 and give them freedom to learn at their own pace
(Al Omary, 2010; Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011). A study conducted

Academic advisors are required to receive adequate training opportunities to be able to effectively
and efficiently use this model to foster student success (Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011).
Additional limitations are such as up front investment of time to build the advising shell or other
on demand resources (Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011). Technical issues such as slow
download feeds caused by poor Internet infrastructure, firewall protections that block some of
these communication programs, simple power or internet disruptions, etc. could also hinder the
productivity of the flipped advising model (Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011). Finally, it is
important to evaluate the usability of the flipped advising model in order to identify the benefits
and/or constrain allied with the student success; however, the questions are how to assess, which
assessment tools to use, who will be responsible for the creation of the assessment tools, etc.
(Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011). Therefore, academic leaders should resolve these issues
before fostering the flipped advising model.
Conclusion
The aim of this proposal paper was to examine flipped advising model to identify how this model
would improve students success. As a result, both advantages and limitations of flipped advising
model were investigated to understand how to overcome these issues in order to successful
integrate this model into the institutions

Auguste Comte Essay
Auguste Comte Auguste Comte was a French philosopher and has been credited for coming up
with the name sociology. Comte helped with furthering the fields of sociology and philosophy. He
divided and organized his new science in a formulated fashion, and also started the study of
positivism. Comte was born in Montpellier, France on January 19, 1798. His father, Louis Comte,
was a public tax official, and both him and his mother, Rosalie, were committed and loyal Roman
Catholics as well as supporters of the French monarchy. The French Revolution was in its final
stages when Comte was born. The new thoughts and ideologies that were created from the French
Revolution, influenced the young Auguste Comte. He went against both of his parents ... Show

Comte believed the way the Roman Catholic church was organized could be a positive structure
and order for society. By replacing the worshiping of God and other Christian beliefs with
humanity itself, would improve the government, economy, and the entire society as a whole. In
Comte s vision of society, roles of authority and responsibility were assigned to businessman and
bankers, while women who were mothers and wives were given morality and humanitarian roles.
Comte s Religion of Humanity was highly criticized and rejected by most of Europe upon its
release. His work would be extremely influential and is credited with advancing the secular or
nonreligious movement and ideology in Europe. Comte would continue his work by publishing
The Catechism of Positive Religion in 1852 and Subjective Synthesis in 1856. He would soon
pass away due to stomach cancer, Comte died on September 5, 1857 in his home in Paris, France.

The Language Of Technology Is Helpful For Communication
The Language of Technology
Language evolves along us as we grow up. I grew up talking Cantonese with my parents. At
elementary school, I took ESL classes. With my brothers, I spoke Pidgin with them. As
technology grew exponentially, language became a part of technology s close companion. Social
media has changed the way people have spoken in the past with new acronyms and new words,
and connected people left behind in the social world. While people focus on the negative effects of
social media, technology is helpful for communication in many aspects.
In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell experimented with the telegraph, to transmit human voice to a
distant place using electricity (transition.fcc.gov). It was later patented to become the first telephone
to send the first intelligible sentence in 1876. Alexander Graham bell wrote in 1878, I believe in
the future wires will unite the head offices of telephone companies in different cities, and a man in
one part of the country may communicate by word of mouth with another in a distant place. This
shows that the phone was created to unite people from distant places. The internet was created back
in 1960 s as a way for government to share information (USG). Back in the Cold War, the internet
was used as a substitute to phones, as the internet sends information through packets, while all
phones would go down when the phone line is cut. This shows that the internet is more reliable than
phones and is created to increase communication.

Difference Between Self-Esteem And Self Esteem
When individuals compare themselves to others, generally, people tend to use upward comparison
through the idea that one day they will become that ideal image. This could mean in wealth, health,
happiness, etc. When comparing to others, many people feel inadequate and their self esteem
suffers for it. If someone cannot reach what they aspire to be, especially when comparing
themselves to others who have accomplished these goals, their self esteemis generally lower than
average. Studying this topic allows insight into how others affect an individual s self esteem when
they are compared and the differences that can affect the social comparison. This importance is to
determine what features and aspects of life are causing lower self esteem in individuals that use
upward social comparison and how these affects can be different for everyone. The intent of this
study is to correlate whether people feel better or worse about themselves through upward social
comparison to general role models. This is important because role models can have a peculiar
impact on someone s self esteem, depending on how that role model behaves. In previous studies,
the documentation on upward social comparison displays how different aspects can affect how an
individual may see themselves as lesser. Roy F. Baumeister discusses in Self Esteem: The Puzzle
of Low Self Esteem, in social comparison situations, people may sometimes make upward
comparisons, presumably to gain more information about a task, or

A Covenant Of The Common Law Rule
Critically, a release takes effect immediately. Id. As a consequence, a release immediately
discharges any obligation within its scope. Id. Accordingly, because a release has the effect of
immediately discharging an obligation, the release is tendered at the time the release is given.
Therefore, a release cannot be breached because complete performance is rendered at the moment
release is effectuated. In some instances again, generally in the context of joint tortfeasors the
common lawrule that a release had the effect of discharging an obligation rather than an obligor
was perceived to apply too harshly when an obligee gave a release with an obvious intent to only
discharge one but not all obligors. Shriver, supra, 155 Md. at... Show more content on

Contrary to a release, a covenant not to sue did not have the effect of discharging an obligation,
but rather it was a promise made by the obligee to refrain from enforcing the obligation. This
distinction permitted a plaintiff to reach a settlement with one joint tortfeasor without
discharging the obligation with respect to the remaining obligors. This concept is reflected in
the Restatement (Second) of Contracts, which defines a contract not to sue as a contract under
which the obligee of a duty promises never to sue the obligor or a third person to enforce the
duty or not to do so for a limited time. Restatement (Second) of Contracts В§ 285. The material
distinction between a release and a covenant not to sue is that a release is an immediate
discharge, and performance is complete at the time the release is effectuated. A covenant not to
sue, on the other hand, is a promise for the maker to undertake some future performance. Stated
differently, [d]ischarge by release . . . has long been regarded as an executed transaction rather
than an executory promise whereas a covenant not to sue . . . was treated as an executory promise.

Political Elements In A Christmas Carol And Rip Van Carolol
It s All Political (Ch. 13)
1.Why does nearly all writing contain political elements?
Nearly all writing contains political elements, because an author usually includes the world around
them when writing. Authors will embrace society in their writing by showing the political
injustices, such as civil rights, power structures, different classes in the society, and many more.
When authors bring in what s going on around them into their writing, they are most likely bringing
in political elements as well.
2.What is the political background that can be seen examples such as A Christmas Carol and Rip
Van Winkle ?
The political background in A Christmas Carol is focused on the belief by a British social
thinker, Thomas Malthus, who believes that giving the poor food and basic essential for life will
only lead to the creation of more poor people in the society. Scrooge along with the rest of the
population at the time thought this way, and that s why after the Christmas spirits took Scrooge on
a journey through his past, present, and future, he became a more giving person that wanted to
help the poor instead of looking the other way. Rip Van Winkle had a political statement
considering the monarchy and how like America, a democracy is what is best for the people,
because instead of one, ultimate ruler, the people were allowed to govern themselves.
3.Are individualism and self determination against the needs of society for conformity and stability?
Individualism and self determination are against the needs of society for conformity and stability,
because a society needs people that help out for it to function as a constant, strong society. People
acting on their own will only bring down a society, because a society runs on its people contributing
to it.
Yes, She s a Christ Figure Too (Ch. 14)
1.Why are there Christ figures?
Christ figures in literature can be used for a number of reasons, such as the author wanting to make
a specific point, about the characters sacrifice, their redemption, their hope, and their miracles. The
author may also want to use the Christ figure ironically to make the character and their sacrifice
look smaller, while making the great sacrifice by Jesus Christ much bigger.

Prisoner s Dilemma
This paper further examines The Prisoner s Dilemma. The Prisoner s Dilemma is a situation
where two prisoners are placed into isolation cells and they can choose to either stay silent or
confess. This game of probability that has taken many forms, but the concept is always the same.
There are two people who have been arrested and can choose to either remain silent or confess. I
first become interested in the prisoner s dilemma while reading The Mysterious Benedict Society
by Trenton Lee Stewart. The prisoner s dilemma is only briefly touched upon in this novel, but I
was intrigued enough to want to peruse a further analysis. In this paper the prisoner s dilemma will
be further analyzed using probability prediction methods. The Prisoner s Dilemma was developed
in the 1950s by game theorists Dresher and Flood. These theorists were working to determine the
possibility of intercontinental nuclear warfare. It was developed during experiments that tested to
see how people behaved in particular situations. The original situation surrounded two people
deciding whether to buy a car. The introduction of two prisoners to this situation was added by
Princeton mathematician A.W. Tucker. A private company

want to leave the program more prepared to take the knowledge I have gained and apply the

to gain more knowledge about counseling and myself. Self care is something I am learning to
take more seriously. Self care is something we need to practice to have a better work life balance
and prevent burn out. When I am practicing self care I attempt to disconnect from what work I
am doing and spend time with my family. I think my favorite type of self care is anything I get to
do with my son. When thinking about why I have chosen to pursue this degree. I immediately
think of my job and while it is decent and I do get to help people. I am not counseling them.
Despite my first masters in psychology I am working in more of a social work capacity. I did some
research and hope that this degree and obtaining my LPC will assist me in finally enjoying my
career and working in a therapeutic environment. I hope the program will prepare me for the
LPC and help me learn to be a counselor in the area of my choosing. When I think about my
future in the program, I become a bit concerned that my family life and full time job could be the
only barriers to my success in the program. There is a balancing act between mother/wife, support

The death star was only in the book for a few chapters, but it made one of the biggest impacts in
the story because the empire wanted to show off its new power to the rebels so they destroyed
the planet they believed the rebels were hiding on. The death star destroyed the entire planet
along with everyone on it with its new cannon, it hurt so many people even some who are part of
the galactic empire like Nash Windrider because he had to witness his home planet and all of his
family get destroyed right in front of him. Another thing that it impacted was Thane because seeing
that made him realize that what they are doing is wrong so he ended up abandoning his post and
escaping from the clutches of the empire.
Darth Vaderis one of the leaders of the galactic empire he was the deciding factor when he had
the Death Star destroy Tatooine. The Storm troopers and Darth Vader found and captured
Princess Leia who is a leader of the rebel alliance and the Princess of Tatooine. Darth Vader s

Of Captain Misson And His Crew By Daniel Defoe Summary
Daniel Defoe has been acknowledged as the author of A General History Of The Pyrates ,
published in 1728, throughout the centuries of the early modern period. Being pursued as Captain
Charles Johnson, the author seemingly imitates a false characterization in order to portray a
different perspective to the commentary on the life of Of Captain Misson and His Crew . Defoe
introduced this volume of fiction, among many chapters, seeking the inequality and insincerity of
the english society attributing to the commission of piracy throughout the population. He
familiarizes his passages in mostly, different narratives as he describes a quite peculiar and
distinctive acknowledgement implied to the proper intentions of a well known captain pirate. On

Defoe introduces a particularly new statement according to the law of piracy during the 18th

throughout the book regarding the idealization of the colony known as Libertalia. The government
on Misson s ship followed with Libertalia s territory, was mostly known to the crew as the pirate

Kant’s Argugument for the Existance of Supreme Moral Law
By the end of section II of The Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, Kant has established
that, if there were a supreme moral law, it would look like the categorical imperative. His task in
the final section of the Groundwork is to show that there does in fact exist such a moral law by
proving that we have free wills, and secondary to this, he wants to show why we actually take an
interest in morality. This paper will provide an account and evaluate the success of Kant s argument
in this final section.
By the start of section III, Kant has finished developing the structure of the supreme moral law,
were it to exist. He began by analyzing our popular conceptions of morality, and worked toward
developing a rational reconstruction of this morality. In line with this effort, Kant specifies the will
as the fundamental cause of action for rational beings, and it is the supreme moral law that the will
acts for the sake of and from which we derive our duties. This principle, called the categorical
imperative, is the unconditioned conditioner of the will, in that it is the determining ground for the
will, but is not itself determined by any other law.
Kant offers three formulas of the categorical imperative in section II, and it is the third
formulation, which requires us to think of ourselves as legislating universal law in a kingdom of
ends, that emphasizes the importance of autonomy. It is this concept of autonomy, or freedom of
the will, that will be crucial for Kant in

  • 2. Prison Has A Huge Problem Within The United States The United States is the world s leader of incarceration with 2.2 million people in jails and prisons; having an increase in population rate of 500% over the past thirty years (The Sentencing Project, 2014). Of the 2.2 million individuals in these facilities, over one million are mentally ill persons. According to the National Institute of Corrections, mentally ill offenders have strained the correctional system. Since the deinstitutionalization of mentally ill from public hospitals in the 1990s, civilians with mental health issues are more likely to be free in the community, without any programming and are more likely to inflict in criminal behavior. The prisonpopulation rate for mentally ill offender makes up more than half the overall population. 78,000 in Federal prison, 705,600 in State prisons, and 479,000 in local jails. Overcrowding prison has become a huge problem within the United States, which lead to seeking in alternative options. Since there isn t enough space or resources applicable to provide for all those who are diagnosed with mental issues, a shift to community supervision have taken place; probation and parole being the greatest form of supervision. The National Institute of Corrections continues to state how parole and probation are overrepresentation of those who are mentally ill, with rates two to four times greater than the general population. Even with this being true, the combination of the cost of imprisonment, treatment needs and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Impact Of Childhood On British Romantic Poetry The Impact of Childhood on British Romantic Poetry How did changing ideas in regard to childhood shape the newly developing Romantic style in poetry and literature? During the 19th century, the subject of childhood sparked debate among society (Metz). According to popular Enlightenment thinkers of the age, and a majority of society, youth had been considered as essentially just smaller versions of adults. That is to say, children were seen as young adults that simply lacked life experience, but were still mentally and physically capable of dealing with adult problems and responsibilities. This was eventually brought into question as the Industrial Revolution was set in full swing and working class children were sent off to make money for their families (Reynolds). People began to question the ethics of exploiting children as factory workers that had to be exposed to dangerous, physically taxing, and often traumatizing conditions. At the same time, a new literary movement was beginning to form. In reaction to the logic, reason, and lack of emotion brought on by the Enlightenment and Neoclassicism (which was prevalent in society and literature at the time), the Romantic era began. Romantic writers rejected the ideas of Enlightenment thinkers and favored emotion and imagination above strict logic and reason. As a result, many Romantic poets and writers began to question the idea of children and adults being functionally and emotionally equal to each other. This emerging idea ... In the X Men: The Last Stand, Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) becomes a powerful entity that burns everything around her. It is much the same in the 1980 comics. It is a pivotal moment for fans to find out that their favorite character can become evil and think themselves a god. #1 The Infinity Stones Now, the Infinity Stones are a subject of interest in all the Marvel movies. There is a tidbit here and there that rounds up all of the Marvel characters together. But many do not understand that the Infinity Stones is not about power. It is a courtship between Thanos and Death. Thanos yearns for Death s affection and the only way he can do that is to collect the stones and form the gauntlet. The Infinity Gauntlet will enable Thanos to kill billions and even trillions of lives, all of which will be given as gifts to Death. This is considerably one of the most insane courtship rituals in the Marvel Comics and one that stands out most of the Avenger films. Eventually, the movie will close the story of the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Infinity War, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. America s Influence On World Music Essay In this essay I will be talking about America s influence on World music and how World music has an influence on American music. I will also discuss how the transistor radio effected this cross pollination. America had a huge influence on World music due to the influence of us giving music an actual name. Some cultures did not even have a name for music. Through a wide range of genres, America has been the supreme leader of modern music. America has shaped how we listen to many genres of music, from pop to even folk. For example, punk was an American creation that was impacting on global music trends. Such as, The Lower East Side and Velvet Underground. While folk and punk represent one element of American influence on modern music, the greatest influence has probably been jazz. Jazz was an art form that differed significantly from all of its predecessors. It began the new era that was able to fuel folk, punk, hip hop and many other groundbreaking American genres. Part of the reason for America s success in music, could be the country s consistent output of new sounds and genres. • 6. Thomas Jefferson And The American West Even as a young boy in the Virginia frontier, exploration and the pursuit of knowledge captivated the imagination of Thomas Jefferson. His father, an experienced cartographer and explorer, is often cited as the inspiration for Jefferson s fixation on the West. As he grew older, Jefferson realized that the American West was not an empty wilderness, but a land crowded by conflicting nations and claims of sovereignty that only a few fur traders had experienced. Once Jefferson acquired the Louisiana territory from Napoleon in 1803, he sent an expedition led by two of his colleagues, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, with the mission of quenching his thirst for knowledge. The official goal of the expedition was to explore the newly purchased territory, but Jefferson had other goals as well. He asked Lewis and Clark to take careful observations of the natural resources and geography of the West to see what economic possibilities existed in the area. Jefferson realized that the Natives Americans in the area needed to be informed about the purchase and that the United States would be a larger presence than before. He sent the expedition to establish good relations with the various tribes. They had a planned speech for each tribe and gave medals to all of the chiefs to signal the goodwill of the Americans. An added bonus to the new friendships between Americans and Indian tribes is less trade for the French and British, who, up until now dominated the trade in the Great Plains. ... While these are courageous acts, they represent merely one type of courage. In To Kill A Mockingbird Harper Lee showcases an alternative type of courage, moral courage, through two main characters and their selfless but righteous actions. Throughout the book, Atticus is illustrated as a compassionate and intellectual man, withholding high standards and morals. These same morals drive Atticus to selflessly defend Tom Robinson. He does this despite knowing he s got everything to lose from taking the case (Lee pg.146). One iconic activist, that is the epitome of moral courage, is Rosa Parks. In 1955, six years prior to the publication of To Kill A Mockingbird, Rosa Parks fearlessly refused to give up her seat for a white person. Fully aware of the negative repercussions she could face for this, she still defended her morals. In fact she faced continued harassment and threats in the wake of her boycott but this did not deter her from living in alignment of her principles (History.com Staff). • 10. Brunswick High. Emergency Procedures Brunswick High Emergency Procedures are located in the Policies and Procedures section. They are divided into 4 sections: Fire Safety Guidelines, Emergency Drills, Response to a Violent Incident (can be a student disruption), and a crisis policy. The fire safety guidelines were more about the type of equipment that could be used in the classroom, while emergency drills were broken into fire drills and tornado drills. Similarities and Differences The similarities between Goodyear Elementary and Brunswick High were the fact that: Both had a section in the handbook for emergency procedures that included fire drills, tornadoes, procedures for death, suicide, and major student disruptions/response to violent incidents, and crisis information Copies of the Glynn County Emergency Procedure and exit routes are posted in the classrooms, and Emergency procedures are explained on the first day of school. While the elementary school provided a short description of their emergency procedures, it stated that more information could be found in the Crisis Management Plan (also included in the Staff Handbook). What s strange is that although a crisis management plan has been created, fire drills were not better described nor mentioned all; not even the sound signal to look for. In the event of a fire, younger students usually need more attention to care and calm down. Therefore, it would have been helpful to cover fire procedures more thoroughly. It includes that the counselor must be familiar with child and adolescent development. • 12. Similarities Between Modernism And European Modernism World War I, along with World War II and the rise of Marxist Leninist states in Russia and China, is one of the defining moments of the 20th century. Parts of Europe lay in devastation and the United States found itself in an increasingly prominent place on the world stage. The United States decision to intervene in World War I meant that American soldiers would be fighting in foreign lands under brutal conditions. All aspects of society were rapidly changing as developments in technology and changing economic conditions redefined every part of everyday life. These developments along with World War I allow for the birth of Modernism. Modernism represents the uncertainty drudgery of contemporary life and the desire to achieve a new social order capable of overcoming the failures of the past. Ernest Hemingwayand F. Scott Fitzgeraldpresent readers with two different accounts of modern life rooted in the same context of American life. European Modernism and American Modernism, while sharing broadly similar characteristics, engage in different projects. In Europe, T.S. Eliot and Ezra Pound found potential solutions in Conservatism (involving Eliot s concern with tradition) and new modes of organic social organization (represented by Pound s acceptance of Fascism). The Dadaists and Italian Futurists adopted a subversive and negative eye towards the present in desire for the future. Abstract artists and atonal composers were examining ways to represent a search for truth in a way that overcame the bourgeois art and music of the past. In America, life was dominated by an explosion of wealth and prosperity in the wake of World War I. In some instances, soldiers and citizens became expatriates. Hemingway and Fitzgerald stand out as representatives of two parts of American Modernism. Fitzgerald focuses on life in the United States in all of its excess and search for deeper connection amid vapidity. Hemingway shows the life of the post war American who is aware of the change in the world and strives for enjoyment and direction in activities like bull fighting, hunting, love, and drinking. America is declining in world power as well and this is just another factor leading to a crash in the future. Other nations are growing a lot more powerful than they have been in the past causing very big problems as a nation. There are a lot of people that think they have very solid arguments that america is in fine shape and no one has any reason to worry. They think the problems people talk about are no big deal amd that the nation can deal with them no problem. These reasons have some truth but for the most part they have a lot of things that other nations are in control of. The United States debt is over 19 trillion dollars, that is an insane amount of money and it is going up rapidly. People think this is ok because the US prints its own money so it is in control of its currency and debt. This is not a very good thing to think because if the United States tried to get out of debt by printing trillions more dollars than usual there would be a massive increase in inflation. Observing the daily lifestyles of the individuals from different time periods show a great deal of how the religion changes the societal behavior of the followers of each religion. The religion s form of worshipping a God is a reputable indicator of the era s culture. While looking into The Iliad, we find that the culture of that time highlights warfare and worshipping multiple Gods. This polytheistic culture differs greatly from the culture of The Torah, which was the first established religionthat believed in teaching a monotheistic education, believing in one God. Furthermore, one can see in The New Testament that they also worship one God in addition to following the teachings of Jesus. This creates a difference in cultures as this changes the way people worship their God/Gods. The transition into the first millennium brought many changes as new religions appeared and there became a diversity in beliefs. Through looking at The Homeric Era, The Hellenic Era, and The Roman Era, the differences within these time periods are shown through the transformation of each religion s form of worship as a ritual. In the Homeric Era, society is polytheistic and has a unique set of rituals. In order to worship the Gods they believe in, they carry out sacrifices and pray to different Gods for different needs. The Gods will intermittently accept these sacrifices and provide something to the people in return. It is perceived as an appeal to the Gods as the people believed that when ... CHEM 1A Lab, Department of Chemistry, California State University, Fresno, CA 93740 Carmenchick@mail.fresnostate.edu September 23, 2017 The purpose of this experiment was to determine how much KMnO4 was needed to titrate approximately 1 mL of an Unknow X101 concentrated solution of Oxalic Acid. A standardized KMnO4 solution was used on a known solution of Oxalic acid to help determine the unknown percent oxalic acid in unknown X101. The unknown sample for this experiment was sample x101 which theoretically was a % Oxalic Acid dehydrate sample but, the average of all three trials determined it to be a 6.7% percent Oxalic acid. Introduction In this experiment, a redox reaction occurred. An oxidation reduction reaction (redox) is a type of chemical reaction that involves a transfer of electrons between two solutions. The chemical being oxidized is losing electrons and the chemical being reduced is gaining electrons. In this case KMnO4 is losing electrons and Oxalic Acid is gaining electrons. KMnO4 can titrate a or reduce Oxalic acid. Titration is the technique used to find the unknown concentration of one solution based on the concentration of a known solution. In equation 2, the molar relationship between the 2 is shown, it is 2 KMnO4 to 5 Oxalic Acid. The molar ratio relationship is useful because it shows how much of a certain product is needed to help a reaction occur and which chemical is limiting reagent. The experiment was started by preparing a titrating strength KMnO4 solution from stock to a less concentrated KMnO4. Equation one shows how this was done. The KMnO4 needed to be diluted, if it had not been diluted, then it would be way too hard to get an accurate reading of the Oxalic Acid used. Without being diluted the Oxalic Acid would be strong. The next step was to standardize the KMnO4 solution. It was calculated that 37.5 mL of Oxalic Acid could titrate 15 mL of KMnO4. To determine the exact molarity of a solution a standardization needs to happen. In this experiment the standardization found how much Oxalic acid was needed. Through the controlled variable, the fact that 37.5 Oxalic acid could be titrated by 15 mL of KMnO4, the percent of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The similarities between the two African American cultures is also quite great. In some cases, general anesthesia might be necessary so you sleep throughout the treatment and are unaware of what is going on. Your dentist will take your preferences into account when deciding what is best. You may want to avoid a general anesthetic at all costs. On the other hand, if the idea of bone surgery bothers you, you may prefer to be put to sleep. The Procedure First, the dentist has to access your bone. If your bone has an irregular shape, the dentist will contour it first. By shaving off the raised areas, the bone will hold onto the implant more evenly and will be stronger. Drilling into your bone requires careful precision. The hole created in your bone has to be the exact depth and width needed for the implant rod. The dentist will start with a tiny drill bit and use progressively larger bits until the hole is the right size. The hole is measured periodically with a measuring pin. In the Elizabethan era, women were considered second class citizens, and weren t allowed the same rights as men, and that misogynistic behavior resulted in many unhappy marriages. Race also had an impact on the workforce by immigrants offering to work for such low wages as women would, sometimes being rejected from any job at all. Women in the Lowell Factory were so closely supervised because women women who were closely supervised were not able to organize. Also, they were supervised since that idea appealed to many parents who would send their daughters to the mills. Some parents would send their daughters to the mills because they could barely provide for their children. I have any opinions of how I feel about if Everest should be kept closed or opened. Mountaineering is a type of sport that involves climbing on mountains. I don t think that Mt. Everest should be opened and I will be explaining and giving my opinion of why I think Everest should be closed and not to be opened again. Flipped Advising Model Analysis Introduction The aim of this paper is to propose a shift towards a flipped advising model in order to complement the traditional advising approach in higher education institutions. The flipped advising model could easily be incorporated into the existing learning management system (LMS) to provide students with up to date and timely resources (Steele, 2016). This proposed shift could improve students academic performance while giving them plenty of time to plan their courses in advance (Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011). Additional limitations are such as up front investment of time to build the advising shell or other on demand resources (Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011). Technical issues such as slow download feeds caused by poor Internet infrastructure, firewall protections that block some of these communication programs, simple power or internet disruptions, etc. could also hinder the productivity of the flipped advising model (Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011). Finally, it is important to evaluate the usability of the flipped advising model in order to identify the benefits and/or constrain allied with the student success; however, the questions are how to assess, which assessment tools to use, who will be responsible for the creation of the assessment tools, etc. (Waldner, McDaniel Widener, 2011). Therefore, academic leaders should resolve these issues before fostering the flipped advising model. At elementary school, I took ESL classes. With my brothers, I spoke Pidgin with them. As technology grew exponentially, language became a part of technology s close companion. Social media has changed the way people have spoken in the past with new acronyms and new words, and connected people left behind in the social world. While people focus on the negative effects of social media, technology is helpful for communication in many aspects. In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell experimented with the telegraph, to transmit human voice to a distant place using electricity (transition.fcc.gov). It was later patented to become the first telephone to send the first intelligible sentence in 1876. Alexander Graham bell wrote in 1878, I believe in the future wires will unite the head offices of telephone companies in different cities, and a man in one part of the country may communicate by word of mouth with another in a distant place. This shows that the phone was created to unite people from distant places. The internet was created back in 1960 s as a way for government to share information (USG). Back in the Cold War, the internet was used as a substitute to phones, as the internet sends information through packets, while all phones would go down when the phone line is cut. • 48. Difference Between Self-Esteem And Self Esteem When individuals compare themselves to others, generally, people tend to use upward comparison through the idea that one day they will become that ideal image. This could mean in wealth, health, happiness, etc. When comparing to others, many people feel inadequate and their self esteem suffers for it. If someone cannot reach what they aspire to be, especially when comparing themselves to others who have accomplished these goals, their self esteemis generally lower than average. Studying this topic allows insight into how others affect an individual s self esteem when they are compared and the differences that can affect the social comparison. This importance is to determine what features and aspects of life are causing lower self esteem in individuals that use upward social comparison and how these affects can be different for everyone. The intent of this study is to correlate whether people feel better or worse about themselves through upward social comparison to general role models. This is important because role models can have a peculiar impact on someone s self esteem, depending on how that role model behaves. In previous studies, the documentation on upward social comparison displays how different aspects can affect how an individual may see themselves as lesser. Roy F. This distinction permitted a plaintiff to reach a settlement with one joint tortfeasor without discharging the obligation with respect to the remaining obligors. This concept is reflected in the Restatement (Second) of Contracts, which defines a contract not to sue as a contract under which the obligee of a duty promises never to sue the obligor or a third person to enforce the duty or not to do so for a limited time. • 50. Political Elements In A Christmas Carol And Rip Van Carolol It s All Political (Ch. 13) 1.Why does nearly all writing contain political elements? Nearly all writing contains political elements, because an author usually includes the world around them when writing. Authors will embrace society in their writing by showing the political injustices, such as civil rights, power structures, different classes in the society, and many more. When authors bring in what s going on around them into their writing, they are most likely bringing in political elements as well. 2.What is the political background that can be seen examples such as A Christmas Carol and Rip Van Winkle ? The political background in A Christmas Carol is focused on the belief by a British social thinker, Thomas Malthus, who believes that giving the poor food and basic essential for life will only lead to the creation of more poor people in the society. Scrooge along with the rest of the population at the time thought this way, and that s why after the Christmas spirits took Scrooge on a journey through his past, present, and future, he became a more giving person that wanted to help the poor instead of looking the other way. Rip Van Winkle had a political statement considering the monarchy and how like America, a democracy is what is best for the people, because instead of one, ultimate ruler, the people were allowed to govern themselves. 3.Are individualism and self determination against the needs of society for conformity and stability? Individualism and self determination are against the needs of society for conformity and stability, because a society needs people that help out for it to function as a constant, strong society. People acting on their own will only bring down a society, because a society runs on its people contributing to it. Yes, She s a Christ Figure Too (Ch. 14) 1.Why are there Christ figures?
