My Dream Story
The story behind me is very long. Lots of stupid things have been done that are very very stupid. I
would say it all began 17 years ago in a hospital but, that s going to be a lot of work to type a paper.
I m going to start this wonderful life, last year school year. Near the end so all the fun of my life
begins. To present day where I continue to do the stuff that makes people mad but it is very fun for
me. It was an early morning in the month of May near the end of the day and I was in my Civics
class. We were working on our budget project and I was down in the library with a few other
people. Believe it or not I got bored really really quick. When I was walking back I was walking on
paper all the way back up to class because I was told do it so I did. When I got back to class my
teacher gave me a very weird look and didn t say a word. I kept asking, What I can t touch the
ground. She didn t say a single word. Just a few days later within the month of May, it was a cool
warm night. Where everything was perfect on how it was. No wind, a solid 78 degrees, all by a
bonfire around 11 at night. We were sitting there talking and out of nowhere I just got up and
decided to walk across the fire for no reason. Everyone looked at me very weirdly. All I asked was,
What? My friend Owen just said, You re dumb why would you even do that? All I could come up
with was, Why not? He just looked away and laughed. After walking over that fire over and over
the bottom of the boots

Women s Movement 1800s
Cultural changes were occurring in the United States in the early 1800s that would eventually
contribute to the women s movement. The Second Great Awakening emphasized individualism, this
idea expanded to people like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and, Lucretia Mott who fought for women s
right to vote. Stanton, Mott, and a few other met in the Seneca Falls, New York; they drew up the
first public protest in America against women s political, economic, and social inferiority (Kraditor
1). Women s roles were viewed as homemakers, being part of their family and not individuals with
their own rights. Women faced many challenges throughout history with not being able to
participate in politics nor receiving equality especially their voting rights. Although there wasn t a
federal amendment for women s voting, many states did implement the rights to vote for women.
In the 1870s, a few people pioneered for women s rights to enter politics in California, demanding
women s suffrage. They based their demand on a fundamental principle: fathers and husbands
should not vote for women; women must speak for themselves (Gullett 11). In past history, the
English colonies had no representation of themselves in England, so they felt that they ... Show

The suffragist wanted to gather women of different socioeconomic class to convince the
government that all of the women are unified and actually want their voting rights. For instance, the
Triangle Shirtwaist Fire is a great example of why working women should have voting rights. So
they can fight for better working conditions and improve safety standards. Just as the women of
different status started to come together, an economic depression occurred. This drew public
attention to their problems and aroused interest in measures for their relief, including more pressure
to pass the ballot and protective

Golden Age Research Paper
In the 19th Century, The Jews Muslims and Christians living in Spain experienced a golden age.
The golden age was a time of great peace and prosperity among the nations due to the Muslim s
acceptance, accommodation and peaceful relations with the Jews and Christians. This golden age
began when the Muslims began conquering the Iberian Peninsula in 711. When Islamwas first
founded, it was only practiced within the borders of Arabia(modern day Saudi Arabia). However,
the Muslims began converting large numbers of indigenous tribes, who resided across North
Africa as well as in Asia, and in this way, Islam started to spread. The people of these indigenous
tribes were known as pagans, someone who is not a Muslim, Christian nor a Jew. The Pagans...

For the first time since their exile from Jerusalem in the year 70CE, they had the opportunity to
participate fully in society. The Muslims were tolerant rulers who wanted all their citizens, whether
Muslim, Jewish or Christian to participate in the life of the new commonwealth they had founded.
In wake of the new tolerant Muslim leaders, a golden age of Jewish immigration dawned in Al
Andalus. Middle Eastern as well as North African Jewish immigrants poured into Al Andals by the
thousands. At the Jewish population s peak in the 10th century, Al Andalus was by far the largest
Jewish centre in all of Europe. Jews were very well integrated and had phenomenal access to the
highest levels of power. The Jews were especially well integrated into economic and social life,
regularly doing business and interacting with Muslims. Society was very open and Muslims rulers
were not threatened by the minorities and were accommodating. Al Andalus, once a mere outpost
of the Islamic kingdom becomes a bustling centre of European trade. Viking ships from the North
sea as well as merchants from the Islamic capital of Baghdad bring an influx of goods to Al
Andalus. The Jewish merchants brought treasures from far and wide and the honesty of the
Muslims helped to regulate the market. This example demonstrates how coexistence lead to
extremely notable achievements. Within 1 century, the Muslims and Jews built a civilization that
exceeded every other European country. By the 8th century s end, the land was the most
productive, populated and diverse in all of Europe, staying so for many centuries. During this
prosperous period, Al Andalus was exporting and importing more than double the amount of goods
than its neighbors. Trade with other European countries was unmatched and by the 11th century
more than 40% of Europe s freight was being produced in

Examples Of Egyptian Mythology
As Pope Shenouda the third once said, Egypt is not a country that we live in but a country that lives
within us. This quote means that Egypt is more than just a country it s something that has lots of
details and beliefs in it. Egyptian mythology teaches lessons to others. It has gods and goddesses
who have power to do things and is really interesting to learn about. Egyptian mythology supports
the universal human experience. In their myths, Egyptians value security, power, and benevolence.
In the Egyptian myth, Osirisand IsisOsiris and Isis were brother and sister who were the king and
queen of Egypt. Their brother named Setwas very jealous of Osiris so he killed him and spreaded
his body parts throughout Egypt. With help Isis found his the body parts, resurrected him then

Anubis is a caregiver because his job is too decide whether he sends the right people to heaven.
The value of this myth is benevolence because he helps the gods and humans by sending good
people to heaven. A quote that explains that the value is benevolence is, According to an Osiris
myth, he helped Isis embalm her husband (Egyptian Myth). This emphasizes how he is willing to
help other people and gods with anything. All of this together means that the purpose of this myth
is to show how some people are there for other people to help with anything. The value of

Grapefruit Solar Cells And Blackberry Solar Cell Lab Report
Titanium dioxide has mesoporous structure that act like a pathway for the electrons crossing
through the cell. After dye absorbs light, it will release electrons and these electrons need to travel
from cathode to anode, titanium dioxide is a conductor that helps electrons move. If we don t use
any metal, these electrons can t travel through thus they can t produce current. the higher the
wavelength, the lower the frequency thus the lower the energy the dye will absorb to release an
electron. We also know that grapefruit absorbs green, so we see red color, and blackberry absorbs
yellow and we see purple color. Grapefruit s color is lighter than blackberry, so the wavelength of
grapefruit is smaller than the wavelength of blackberry, and energy grapefruit is required to
release an electron is higher than blackberry s. We shine the same light (same energy) on both
grapefruit solar cell and blackberry solar cell, blackberry will produce higher current, thus the
reading on multimeter will be higher. If we use a juice that is darker than blackberry, than the
reading of blackberry solar cell will be lower.
(Q3) The purpose of washing the plate with water followed by ethanol is to remove unabsorbed
dye and any other residues.
(Q4) From this part of experiment, we don t get any constant continuous reading on the multimeter.
There are a few readings flash on the screen, but we don t consider them as experiment data. Solar
cell should act as a battery, and the current should be

Throughout all of the tasks that I took part in, I believe that I performed well in some of them
but then in others I could have performed much better. Throughout all of the tasks I believe that I
participated as much as possible in order to get the tasks completed, participation was important
for the team because of the limited numbers within the team, if I didn t participate as much as
possible then the team may have struggled to complete all of the tasks. I always try to participate

Another strength of the team was our ability to come up with a range of different ideas and then
working as a team to improve on the ideas, this strength was important to use because we needed to
come up with a range of ideas for all of the tasks that we were involved in. if we were unable to
come up with a lot of ideas for each task then we may have struggled to complete some of the
tasks that we had been set, most of the tasks involved us to work as a team to discuss the ideas
that each of us had, we made sure that everyone was listening and participating during each part
of the task in which we had to discuss the ideas. The final strength of the team was the overall
participation of the team, within all of the tasks every team members made sure that they were
participating as much as possible with the role in which they had been set, if all the team
members were not participating as much as possible then it could result us in failing some of the
tasks that we had been set because in each task we didn t have a big time limit in which we had to
come up with ideas, put these ideas into practice and then come up with any alternative ideas that
may be needed in order for us to complete the task.
As well as the strengths of the team we had our weaknesses as well, the first weakness of the group
was we sometimes struggled to agree on the ideas that had been put forward, this was because other
team members thought that

Starbucks, A Large Portion Of Starbucks
For Starbucks, business is good. Starbucks continues to come up with more and more innovations
and ways to market their products. Last year Starbucks started bottling their iced coffee and
selling them as a new product lines in their stores, as well as many new sandwich choices. The
ability to provide fresh new ideas year after year provides Starbuckswith a growing customer base
and a growing net gain. Starbucks will continue to come up with new ideas and products that will
continue to bring in more customers to established stores and the means to build stores in new
markets expanding their ability to generate revenue, their ability to innovate and market to different
cultures globally. Starbucks ability to cut cost anywhere it can enables them to keep the money
they use to operate at a minimum, leaving more of their revenue as profit. This allows Starbucks to
expand and grow rapidly and increase their profitability greatly.
The Chinese market makes up a large portion of Starbucks profit. China s population plays a big
role in the importance of that market to Starbucks and the ability to pull a big profit from that
region. In an interview with Charlie Rose, Howard Schultz said, We educated [China] on coffee
...now [China is] drinking as much coffee as [America] is. (Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz,

American market and is continuing to expand. This growth will not stop

Sand Country Almanac Review
In A Sand Country Almanac by, Aldo Leopold, he talks about the sky, and the horizon but also
explaining how a new day has begun . He talks about the ice age and the history explaining the
change of our generations. He expresses how beautiful nature is, and the need to preserve it, for
example, there are no words to describe the beauty of nature. Due to a glacier, one fell and crushed
a valley that had soon slowly started filling with water; this is explaining the change that had
occurred from long ago to how it is now. In Land Ethic it talks about evolution and how it was
studied. He talks the relations between people and their society but also the specific role people
had, due to the Golden Rule. There are two Kinds of Ethics Leopold talks about, which are
ecological and philosophical. Ethic is carried in a way to be a connection with people and the
land, for example they think the people will start to feel more of an authority to care and respect
for natural resources. He wants everything to stay in balanced, but with humans, they are producing
a different cycle and creating the loss of natural.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

graduation. Most of the students are completely unaware about the array of fields available for
pursuing career in to. The choice of career is mostly governed by the marks one scores in the
qualifying exam like 10th. High scoring students invariably go to science field, while those next in
line are always advised to pursue career in commerce field and remaining supposedly incapable

Similarities Between Human And Human Information Processing
Topic: A comparison between human and computer on information processing
Do humans and computers really process information similarly? My essay was inspired when I
read how early psychologists and scientist used the newly invented computer to explain the
complexity and processes of the brain. This was the beginning of cognitive psychology. Before I
compare the differences and similarities between computer and humans on information processing,
it is only necessary to highlight the history of cognitive psychology and the information processing
model. Cognitive psychology is defined as, the scientific study of the mind as an information
processor (McLeod, 2015). Cognitive psychologist developed a cognitive model by focusing on
processes such as memory, attention, consciousness etc. To study human processes, cognitive
psychologist mainly used a nomothetic approach but instances where they conduct case studies
they would adopt an idiographic approach. The development of cognitive psychology was due to
several reasons. firstly, there was a dissatisfaction with the behaviorist simplistic explanation of
behavior. Secondly, they wanted to develop better experimental methods to investigate cognitive
processes. Lastly, because of the invention of computers, cognitive psychologists wanted to explore
the similarities between humans and computers processing of information.
It was the computer analogy that aided cognitive psychology in studying the complexity of the
human mind

Central Line Clinical Practice Guideline Rational Central venous catheters (CVCs) are frequently
used in intensive care units (ICUs) for a number of reasons (measure central venous pressure, when
peripheral veins are unable to be accessed, administration of medications/therapies and aspiration of
blood samples) (Conroy, 2006, p. 98). Patients in this environment already have an increased risk of
infection because of their treatments. Patient treatments commonly involve invasive devices or
interventions (major surgery), antibiotic therapy (raises the risk of bacterial resistance) while
steroid, chemotherapy and radiation therapy all suppress the immune system (Hatler, Hebden,

This means aseptic technique and sterile gloves should be used for insertion and care of a CVC.
Aseptic technique is critically important to protect patients from CLABSIs; infections are caused
by either intrinsic (e.g. patients own flora) or extrinsic (e.g. surrounding environment) pathogens.
Asepsis therefore removes patients skin flora and ensures flora picked up from either other
patients or the surrounding environment is not introduced into the patient (Mollee et al., 2011).
Raad et al. (1994) found in a randomised trial that CLABSIs were 6.3 times higher in a control
group then those who had their CVC inserted under maximal barrier precautions (consisting of
mask, cap, sterile gloves, gown, large drape). These findings were replicated by Abi‐Said et al.
(1999) who also found that if strict aseptic techniques were adhered too during dressing changes,
in addition to close monitoring of patients there was a decrease in bloodstream infection rates.
As described above CLABSIs are more common when aseptic techniques at the time of insertion
have not been observed. Contamination of catheters by skin flora at the time of insertion is one
of the risks for developing a subsequent CLABSI. Therefore CVCs need to be replaced within
48hrs if asepsis cannot be guaranteed for insertion (LeMaster et al., 2010). For insertion and during
care of a CVC

Montessori vs. Traditional Education Essay
Education is very important especially in this day and age. What school one attends and how
they perceive school to be is a huge factor in one s life success. There has been research done in
the past few years proving that students who receive a Montessori education will prosper
academically more so than those who receive a traditional education(Ryniker and Shoho, 2001).
Traditional schools typically follow teacher based philosophies and the Montessori educationis
student centered. On average, children enjoy student based philosophy classrooms. Therefore, they
are much more in tuned to what they are learning and that benefits their educational career. Having
fun while learning is the key to keeping children engaged.

Many people think of it as controlled chaos (Kramer, 1976). Montessori resources are divided into
four categories: practical life, sensorial, academic and cultural/artistic supplies (Scotty, 2009).
Alan Gartner and Dorothy Lipsky, City University of New York academic researchers conducted
research about success rates of public Montessori students (Schapiro, 2002). The research
conducted proves the children who attend Montessori public schools are better in certain subjects
(Schapiro, 2002). Montessori is also very beneficial to children with dyslexia, because they use
phonics to teach. Attending a Montessori school is also an educational advantage for children
because they have the opportunity to start as early as the age of three (Schapiro, 2002).
According to the study conducted by Alan Gartner and Dorothy Lipsky, research was found that
students who attended a Montessori public school did significantly better in math and social
studies. Their overall GPA was not significantly higher than others but males received higher
scores in science, while females received higher scores in math, compared to other students who
did not attend a Montessori school (Schapiro, 2002). Montessori graduates also received higher
scores overall on the ACT mathematics test, but lower on the ACT reading test (Schapiro, 2002).
Montessori students also tend to fail fewer classes and take more honors and advanced

How Did Al Capone Impact Society
During the period of prohibition, from 1920 to 1933, the sale, manufacture and transportation of
alcohol was made illegal, through the Volstead act of 1919, leading to the first and only time an
Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was repealed. Throughout this time in American history
gangsters were common and were constantly increasing in every city but one in particular stood out
from all the others making a significant impact on American history. Scarface, Alphonse Capone or
more commonly known as Al Capone; who was the most infamous gangster, taking advantage of the
era of Prohibition, ran an organized crimeassociation in Chicago during the 1920s. He was
responsible for over 500 murders; he had 700 men under his control and earned $60 million a
year for bootlegging. Capone, who was glamorised in media and shown as charitable to the
helpless was also controlling and violent and became an iconic figure of the successful American
gangster who insisted he was just supplying the public demand .

Summary Of Righteousness By Piper
Piper argues that Wright and other New Perspectivists are misunderstanding the nature of
humanity. Just as there are innumerable variations between Christian denominations of today,
Piper reasons, even if many Jews did not have a works based understanding of salvation, some
certainly did. Paul could be addressing this particular subset of Jews within Romans and
Galatians. To Piper, Paul s letters could be toward those legalistic Jews who view the Law as that
which does not literally save, but which creates spiritual superiority and in some ways, earns a
degree of favor before God. Piper views this kind of works righteousness as warped and unbiblical,
citing likened issues as the purpose for Paul s composition of Romans and Galatians. For this
reason, Piper and other Reformers argue that Wright is mistaken in his understanding of Paul s

This is a matter of controversy between Wright and Piper. Piper writes that no single action, such
as keeping the covenant, is the essence of God s righteousness, because all His acts are done in
righteousness. In the same way, Piper argues, the essence of human righteousness is faithfulness
to uphold the glory of God in all that we do. The issue, however, as Piper describes, is that
humans fall short of this glory, and thus, no one is righteous. Piper would cite biblical references
such as Romans 3:23 and Romans 3:10 to illustrate this Reformer perspective. Convinced that Paul
is speaking of a positive righteousness being counted to the defendant, not merely the verdict of
clemency, Piper believes that Wright s system leaves no room for imputation of righteousness, as it
is traditionally understood: Christ s obedience imputed to the sinner s account. Piper accuses
Wright of muddying the water in this area, so that it is unclear whether Wright claims that
righteousness is imparted, as believed in

Yellow Fever Outbreak
Yellow fever is a viral infection that is transmitted by mosquitoes. This communicable disease has
had an outbreak that crossed international borders within the past five years. According to WHO
(2017), countries that have been affected by the outbreaks include Brazil January 2000,
Netherlands February 2000, Nigeria May 2000, Liberia August 2000, Guinea December 2000,
CГґte d Ivoire May 2001, Peru June 2001, Belgium November 2001, Senegal January 2001,

Due to the potential deadly nature of the Yellow Fever, it would be vital that people within the
community get vaccinated immediately after an outbreak happens. India is a highly populated
area with a generally warm climate. The environment in India would sustain the vectors necessary
for transmitting Yellow Fever, and the massive quantity of potential hosts could lead to a massive
outbreak. Businesses would be affected because travel into the outbreak area would slow down.
The local government would have to focus on the outbreak instead of other local issues. The local
government would have to report the case to the higher levels of government and thus relaying the
information to the World Health Organization. Hospitals would have to supply screening and
vaccinations to the citizens of the community. Patients would fill hospital beds until treatment is
finished, and this would lead to an overcrowding of patients in the hospital. Schools would have
to have ways of getting screening of students. Due to the students being close to one another
throughout the day, the students would need bug spray, and long sleeved shirts with pants. The
school would have to use money on resources such as screens for open windows and doors so
that the vectors cannot get into the classrooms. Prevention is key when discussing how to put a
stop to outbreaks like yellow fever. There are two main prevention strategies one should follow to
avoid yellow fever. The first one involves the use of personal protective measures to limit your
exposure to the mosquitoes. Firstly, this includes the use of insect repellent. The CDC recommends
Environmental Protecting Agency registered insect repellent because it contains certain chemicals

The Strategy For A Portfolio Management Strategies
This argument is flawed. In order to know performances of both strategies, both the shift direction
and shift size should taken into consideration. First, it is not appropriate to conclude that one
strategy can outperform another strategy in the category of active portfolios management strategies
even though under the condition that there is a steeping of the yield curve. Performances of
different strategies are various, different, even though under one same condition, since the detailed
information of each strategy is unknown. Theoretically, performances of two strategies depends on
the detailed shift situations (trend and size) of the yield curve. Second, the core method of the
barbell strategy is focusing on the exceeding situations. To be more specific, the barbell strategy
concerns securities with the longest and the shortest maturities. Meanwhile, the main approach of
the ladder strategy is to build a portfolio including securities with approximately equivalent
maturities. Third, however, under some situations, ladder strategy will outperform the barbell
strategy. To be more precise, once the maturities of these two strategies are same, and if the yield
curve will experience a negative steepening trend, the discount rate of the ladder strategy will be
lower. Consequently, as the denominator of the ladder strategy is smaller than that of the barbell
strategy, the ladder strategy will beat the other one. Fourth, on the other hand, if the maturities of
these two

Emma Watson vs. Malala Yousafzai
Emma Watson vs. Malala Yousafzai
I am going to compare two very important speeches, in my opinion. Emma Watson s was on the
HeForShe Campaign and Malala Yousafzai s promoting education for girls.
Bothe speeches were delivered at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Emma Watson, at
the age of 24, launched a campaign called HeForShe on September 20, 2014. She is the UN
Women Goodwill Ambassador and she was cohosting this event when she gave the speech. She is a
famous British actress and has been advocating for gender equality.
Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by the Taliban for going to school, and on July 12, 2013, at
the age of 16, she delivered a speech promoting education for girls. She has become a champion for

Emma Watson was clearly nervous, her voice was shaking as she spoke, but she did show the
world that she has a voice and it needed to be heard. On the other hand Malala Yousafzai was very
confident, with a powerful voice and passion.
Both of them were very prepared to give the speech, was very clear that they have practice the
speech countless times. I believe that for Malala Yousafzai was more natural since it comes from a
very powerful experience that gave her the strength to fight and be heard. However Emma Watson
also has passion about the subject.
They both Called to Action. Malala Yousafzai started six sentences by saying We Call upon... and
Emma said I am reaching out to you because I need your help...
Malala only looked down to her notes once while delivering her speech, she looked down and
captured a chunk of her next thoughts, paused, looked back up and delivered it. As for Emma
Watson, after her shaken introduction, she proved to be well prepared for the speech. They both
made eye contact with the audience, however Malala Yousafzai was able to make eye contct with
the entire body of the United Nations for the majority of her presentation. She would occasionally
look back to make eye contact with whomever was seating behind her.
They both gave a personal touch by relating their own experiences. Emma Watson experience with

Deer Or Elk Carcass
In Nevada, a deer or elk carcass are disposed of in one of two ways: the head and spinal cord can be
buried, or disposed of at an approved landfill. There are no captive cervids in Nevada. Legislation
passed in 2005 does not allow captive cervid ranches in the state of Nevada. This also means that
no captive elk, white tailed deer, or mule deer ranches exist in the state (MI Department of Natural
Resources 2014).

How Did Tommy Douglass Affect Canada
Tommy Douglas was the first person to ever lead a social democratic government in Canada. It
was because of his views that his political opponents often criticized him. They labelled him as a
red and a communist at times, because he believed in socialism and that everyone deserved free
healthcare, even the one s who were poor and and in a bad situation. His impact on Canadians was
a great one. Especially the ones were suffering from the economic depression that had it s grip on
Saskatchewan. Tommy Douglas worked to create a better society in Saskatchewan and Canada, he
wanted to alleviate the suffering. He is known for how he drastically increased welfare benefits.
By providing electricity to the farmers in the rural areas, he helped the poor farmers. By
establishing a universal healthcare system, he helped the ones who were suffering from disease or
sickness but couldn t pay for help. By introducing the first ever auto insurance in Canada, he made
accidents less tragic. He was a hero the citizens.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that politics would be the way to help the people, and he was right. Tommy Douglas and the CCF

Research Paper- Negative Effects on Children by Watching Tv
We do not believe there is anything sexist or violent about the World Wrestling Federation. I think
it s unfair of you to insinuate it when there are so many shows and so many different movies, and
so many different social problems that really do contribute to violence in this country.
UPN president Dean Valentine in 1999 after a 7 year old child in Dallas killed his little brother
with a clothesline maneuver he had seen on a wrestling show.
One fact should not be in dispute: TV is violent! Guns, shootings, murders, hitting, punching,

shown daily throughout TV programming. Most violence is not even in nightly news programs and

3. TV is a World of Good and Bad
Even though both criminals and cops can both commit justifiable violence television is still a simple
medium. TV presents good guys and bad guys. On average, there are 15 minutes of commercials
for every one hour of TV programming, so producers only have a short amount of time in which to
establish plot, story, characters and resolution. Good characters and bad characters must be quickly
and simply established.
Deeper, more realistic, more ambiguous characterizations make it hard for viewers to know who
to root for. It also requires more screen time that takes away from on screen action, states the
Center for Media Literacy. As a result, TV and film criminals are reduced to caricatures. They are
l00% bad. No one could care about them. They have no families. Many of them don t even have
full names, only nick names. They deserve no sympathy and they get what they deserve.
The bad guys, whether they are cops or robbers, have to be 100% bad to justify the violence
against them. Television violence is the struggle of good versus evil. It s OK to shoot the bad guy
after all, he s the bad guy.
According to the study by the Center for Media and Public Affairs, the most violent show
observed in 1999 was CBS Walker, Texas Ranger. This show took the top spot for overall violence
with a rate of 112 acts per show, over two thirds of them (82) serious. Almost every episode of this

Toddler Classroom Observation
Toddlers and preschoolers are at different developmental stages, and therefore require their
teachers to use different approaches and techniques to further learning. I completed my
observations at the Bright and Early Children s Learning Center where I observed a toddler
classroom and a preschool classroom. My observations took place from 8:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. on
the 21st and 28th of September. The first day that I observed I was placed in the toddler
classroom which had two teachers, Miss Ashlynn and Miss Miranda, and six students, most of
whom were two years old. In the preschool classroom there was one teacher, Miss Stephanie, and
eight students, each of whom were 3 years old or 4 years old. While the rooms were physically
similar, the teachers used different strategies and activities to appeal to the different age groups. In
the toddler classroom, the children interacted with each other, however many of them were more
interested in playing and exploring on their own. The children enjoyed free playat learningcenters,
story time, and outside play during my observation. The toddlers preferred parallel play in which
the children used similar toys in similar ways, but did not interact with each other. For example,
when one child began playing with the kitchen toys in the dramatic play center, soon all of the
children began playing with the available plastic food items. However, the children were more

The Pros And Cons Of Poverty In The Non-Metro Area
Poverty rates among all citizens are highest in the extremely urban and truly rural areas of the
United States. However, poverty rates, as measured by the Department of Agriculture s
Economic Research Service, are higher in non metro areas as compared to metropolitan centers.
The demographics of poverty offer insight to public administrators and policy writers beyond the
demographics of simply rural versus metro areas. For example, in 2016 rural White citizens
were half as likely to live in poverty as either Black or Native American citizens. In addition, a
female head of household in a rural area is nearly eight times as likely to live in poverty as a
married couple. Couple these demographics with the fact that only 46 million citizens live in
nonmetro areas roughly 15% of the national population it is not surprising that rural areas seem
to receive less attention by federally elected officials than urban and suburban areas. At the
county level, poverty as defined by the US government is an immensely rural problem, with the
most remote rural places at the greatest disadvantage. It would seem obvious that where and how
an individual lives would matter in a person s ability to rise above the poverty level. However,
federal policy that addresses poverty is not specific to rural areas or metropolitan areas. Within the
context of all policy, rural areas are unique and policy makers ought to consider this when
addressing legislation to help citizens in these

The Use Of Forced Restraint And Mild Analgesia
Introduction As healthcare professionals, the goal is to relieve pain and suffering with little to no
harm done1,2. While children suffer similarly from pain as adults do, there are different factors to
take into account. Children might suffer from a heightened sense of fear and anxiety as compared
to adults3 and as such, the age old concept of forced restraint is no longer acceptable and may even
compound the child s fear in hospitals and needles throughout life1,4. While distraction techniques,
play therapy and mild analgesia might be sufficient in producing a cooperative and relaxed
child4,5, for severe pain, this is not an option and general anaesthesia or sedation is often used
instead1,6,7. Furthermore, given how the gold standard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, IV infusion can be utilized in other roles. For instance, there are situations where a Y
line might be utilized to allow piggybacking or the addition of a second infusion set onto the same
line10. This helps to reduce the number of IV sites required in a patient and therefore, can reduce
the risk of infection as well as improving patient comfort. Whilst Y site administration is commonly
used in hospitals, there are limitations to it. For instance, once a drug has been administered
intravenously, it cannot be reversed11. Therefore, any adverse effect observed is difficult to treat.
This issue is only magnified when two or more drugs which are incompatible are administered
together12 (Fig 1.0). There are guides and references available when looking at drug incompatibility
but they can be limited13. As such, there are situations where the outcome of combining two drugs
is unknown and hence the responsibility falls the pharmacist to determine if the infusion is suitable
for treatment or not. This paper seeks to look at the drug ketamine; a sedative commonly used in
pain management, combined with two other commonly used drugs in hospitals, vancomycin; an
antibiotic, and tramadol; an analgesic. It will also seek to define incompatibility before looking at
the importance of drug compatibility and limitations of guides following the administration of Y
site infusion in pain management of pediatrics. Literature Search The search terms used on

History Of Druidism
There seems to be a lot of conflicting information as to where exactly Druidism originates and
what sort of practices they experienced. Most of what was learned of Druidism was communicated
orally, which is a major reason I believe as to why there is so many missing elements or
inconsistent information. Across the board people mainly agree that it began in Europe. From some
writings of Julius Caesar, people had believed it began in Britain. Druidism is a religionthat is
practiced by the Celts or Celtic people. The genealogy of the Druids begins roughly 25,000 years
ago when any of the first demonstration of any sacred or spiritual practices were discovered in

After my research I have found that Druidry is more of a spiritual path than anything,
concentrating mostly on being animists (the belief that nature is enlivened or energized by
distinct personalized spirit beings separate from bodies). Druids tend to rejoice and meditate
outside becoming one with nature, though this is not the only way for the Druids (The Order of
Bards Ovates and Druids, Druid Beliefs, par 2). Since the core motivation of this group is
nature...they consider themselves to be healers and teachers, this is one thing that all who follow
Druidism have in common, but not all Druids have the same set of beliefs as far as whether a God is
involved. After learning about monotheism, animists and polytheism in Chapter 13 of our Cultural

The Importance Of Operant Conditioning
Operant Conditioning Within the early 19th Century, Edward Throne like conducted experiments
on dogs and cats to determine the way these animals behave under certain conditions. These studies
were conducted through replicating and standardizing the circumstances that the animals were in
through a controlled environment. As such, this model demonstrated that animals had the nature to
learn when they were presented with certain consequences. In 1938, Burrhus Friederich (B. F.)
developed the core idea of the Operant ConditioningSkinner, which claims that operant
conditioning, was brought about by the response from the operant under threat (Sakagami, Lattal,
2016). Some factors were involved in the increase of the operant conditioning especially when
Edward Thorndike was examining the behavior of cats and rats. It was necessary to consider the
problem solving abilities of these animals within puzzle boxes that would otherwise lead the
animals in a state of constraint. Moreover, there was a need to understand the relationship exhibited
between the appropriate reaction to the individual situation and the associated strengths to the same.
Moreover, other factors such as the ability of the animals to learn under the conditions presented as
was later proven by Skinner.
The core principles that are important in understanding the operant conditioning and how it may
result in the retention offer includes the operant variability where the individual may experience

early tenement days to Prohibition to the Westies. The population consisted of poor people who

They commanded tribute from factory owners and merchants, they broke into houses and they

Incendiary Fire Analysis and Investigation
Summary of the Incident
On February 20, 2003, at 23:10 hours, the West Warwick, Rhode Island fire department was
dispatched to a structure fire at 211 Cowesett Avenue (Grosshandler, Bryner, Madrzykowski,
Kuntz, 2005). The structure was the location of The Station nightclub, which contained an
estimated 458 occupants, which was above the maximum allowed occupancy of 404 which was
established by the City of West Warwick (Grosshandler et al., 2005). The fire resulted in a
massive loss of life as 96 people died at the scene, 3 died within days, and one person died 70 days
later, bringing the death toll to 100 persons (Grosshandler et al., 2005). The large crowd was
present at the nightclub to witness a performance of the rock band Great White , who used
pyrotechnics during the performance which directly contributed to the ignition of polyurethane
foam panels that were installed in the building by the club owners to serve as soundproofing. As
the fire began to grow occupants began to panic and immediately headed for the exits. The
majority of the occupants attempted to use the front main exit which was composed of a set of
double doors, which led to a corridor, which included a single door that exited to the outside of the
building (Grosshandler et al., 2005). The exit was quickly blocked as occupants began to stack up
at the exit. The fire rapidly spread throughout the occupancy and the structure quickly become
untenable. The investigation includes a complete fire

Bear Stearns Bailout
Bear Stearns Bailout The Fed did not bailout Bear at taxpayer expense, but enabled as it is
mandated the financial markets to continue to function. History will call the Fed s action the right
move at the right time , says Jeremy Siegel, Ph.D. The Bear Stearns Company began a financial
meltdown in July 2007. By March 2008, it was ready to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Some people
believe that the Federal Reserve should not have stepped in to bailout Bear Stearnsbecause it was
rewarding reckless business behavior and Bear should have been left to file bankruptcy. The deal
of Bear Stearns was not a government bailout; it was rather a loan to preserve jobs, homes, savings,
the economy, the shareholders of Bear, and the financial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In November 2007, Bear reported $288.5 billion in client accounts, and was selling the company
for $30 billion to JPMorgan. The value of Bear Stearns has yet to be determined. There is no real

cash. As of November 30, 2007, according to the New York Times, Stearns had $46 billion on its
books that included mortgages, mortgage backed securities, and asset backed securities. They
announced that the annual report showed $29 billion of these assets were generated by a
computer model. The other $17 billion were determined by estimates from internal company

banking standards around the world . This implies that hundreds of billions of dollars in asset
backed securities may be fabricated capital (The Ediorial Board 3).
Several factors could have affected our nation if the Federal Reserve did not step in and bail out
Bear Stearns. One factor is our economy. If half of the Bear Stearns employees were laid off, the
unemployment rate would increase and would affect the working class throughout the nation, and
jobs would become harder to

Feed Essay On Technology
In the novel Feed written by M.T. Anderson, the futuristic world the novel is set in a continually
evolving and the characters are overcoming challenges in the technological society. This book
focuses on the deteriorating world due to technological advances. The most important
technological advancement is the feed that the corporations in the future will create. The feed
contributes to how people participate in everyday activities. Only people who can afford one are
able to have a feed implant. It is a parallel to today s modern use of technologyand cellular devices.

The feed corporation preferred people to have the device implanted into the brain as a baby
because the brain was still developing and changing which allowed the brain to grow properly
with the feed. When Violet was young her mom left her father and Violet s father had to get by
with very little and also care for Violet. Violet s dad finally saves up the money to afford a feed
for her. Violet communication skills are more ingenious due to growing up in a different
atmosphere. She met Titus while on the moon and they grew closer. Later, Titus meets her
father and when Violet and Titus were leaving, he looked at her and says, I didn t understand a
single thing he said (Anderson 137). Titus grew up exposed to relying on the feed for many
ways of communicating. When Violet s father spoke with a broad vocabulary, Titus did not know
what he was attempting to say to him due to the feed manipulating the English language to be as
simple as possible. In Gooding s article about the novel Feed, he perceives Violet s father as being
the most acutely aware of the interplay of technological and economic forces that has turned
America into a nation of impatient adolescents (Gooding). Gooding is implying that Violet s father
has lived without a feed his entire life and over the years he has observed how it has impacted the
younger generations and how the technology is dominating society and daily living.

Why Did The Spanish Dominate The Americas
In the year of 1492, the Spanish invaded the Americas, which had a contrary effect on the
indigenous people who were already settled there. Invasion is the act of entering a country while
bringing it down under domination or control, especially by conquest. By this definition, the
Spanish invaded the Americasbecause they dominated and controlled the religion, education,
economy and governance of the indigenous Americans. The Spanish cannot be considered to have
settled the Americas, because the act of settling is based on inhabiting a place where no people
have lived before. This is not true of the Americas, as the indigenous Americans, both the Aztecs and
Incas were already inhabiting continental North and South America since before the 1400s.... Show

Before the Spanish arrived, the aztecs used a form of money called the Quachtli, or they bartered.
Agriculture and farming were important for them, as they used their large lands to produce foods
for the families, or they would set up markets to earn money for themselves. Due to the Spanish
arriving, their land was removed from them and their currency was confiscated. The encomienda
system was introduced giving the Aztec lands to the Spanish who arrived. They also introduced the
haciendas which was where members of the Spanish were sent to the Americas to spread
Catholicism in return for large lands. The haciendas were productive and the conquistadors gained
wealth as the gold and silver mines made Spain the wealthiest in Europe. The Golds were very
important to the Spanish as the Spanish described themselves as Spaniards who suffer from a
disease that only Gold can cure . This is implying to us that Gold made them cruel and ruthless
and that they are greedy, which is another reason in why the Spanish invaded. The Aztec and
other conquered indigenous societies were forced to work as slave labourers for the landholders
on their haciendas. The Aztecs and Incas were forced to build a new Spanish city on the site of
Tenochtitlan Mexico City and many indigenous people were forced into labour mines or on new
building programs while the Spanish introduced black

The Major Causes Of The Newark Uprising Of 1967
The Newark uprising of 1967 was the result of many different forms of injustices directed against
the black community in Newark. Police brutality was one of the major factors that contributed to
the people s uprising. When governor Hughes appointed a committee to investigate the causes of
the uprising and the ways to improve the relationship between the policeand the Newark s
community, there were many testimonies and evidences that proved that police brutalitywas one of
the major causes leading to the uprising. Despite all the data and the evidences that the Governor s
Commission Report (GSCCD) included and the testimonies of many people that witnessed the
uprising, the Report of the New Jersey State Patrolmen s Benevolent Association (PBA) rejected
the findings to the Governor s Commission Report and claimed that police brutality was just a
stereotype in the African American neighborhoods. They suggested that the main reason that
caused the uprising was the weakness of official response (PBA Report ix) to criminal acts done
by members of the black community. This paper will focus mainly on assessing the arguments
made by the PBA report and comparing them with the GSCCD report and the testimonies of the
witnesses of the uprising. The first aspect of the uprising that the PBA report discussed is why did
the uprising happened. They argue that Brutality did exist, but it ran from the community to the
police officers and that the charges against police officers was an

The Mexican War Essay
The Mexican War
The factors that started the Mexican War lay heavily on American shoulders. Whether if the
factors were created by social, political or economical needs, they have all become the center of
attention for the question of being a national interest or disgrace. However, the Americans felt that
they existed for ...spreading the blessings of peace. according to Andrew Jackson. There will
always be controversy between the two sides of this matter, the Americans who feel that it had to be
done, to the Mexicans who felt that it was an injustice done to their nation.
First of all, socially, the Americans felt that it was their duty to spread their blessings of democracy
and peace. Through manifest destiny, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
James Polk felt that it was his duty to take it by force and took the matter under his control. Since
John Tyler s decision to hold off the war until Mexicomade the initial attack, Polk took it upon
himself to provoke the Mexicans. To accomplish this, he sent troops to the Rio Grande and marched
them along the border until the Mexicans made their attack. After the report of the attack was
delivered, Abraham Lincoln proposed the Spot Resolutions to find the exact location of the
American bloodshed on American soil . However, the Spot Resolutions were built upon false
statements; the Mexicans attack was premeditated and actually took place on Mexican land. Polk
was successful in starting the desired Mexican War which ultimately led to the defeat of the weaker
adversary Mexico and the attainment of California.
Along with the desire of new land, there were other contributing factors that initiated the war with
Mexico. There were also political and economical factors that were as equally important in the start
of the war. With most of the Mexican land below the 34o30` line, the Democrats and the southern
states were pushing for the war. With the increased amount of representatives for the southern
states, there would finally be a tiebreaker in the free slave argument. Without saying, the Whigs of
the northern states were opposed to the

Sociology Of Violence
Aggression and war typically are not seen in various forms. One could argue that war is not
always where violent acts are seen, in the sense of cold wars, so it is can also be said to be a stage
for aggressive, rather than violent, acts. However, violence has multiple variations including:
mental violence, symbolic violence, and lastly as studied, political violence, that cultural
anthropologists have significantly improved the understanding of. Before delving into the different
categories of violence, it is important to understand that the uses of violence also vary. When
examining violence, it is crucial to discern the action from the perspective of the perpetrator.
(Hansen, 367) As seen in Riches dynamic triangle of violence, those who... Show more content on

Yet, violence does not need to be a physical act, it can also be mental or symbolic. This is
someone s ability to maintain a permanent hold on another person based on economic or
practical commitments. (Hansen, 369) Many scholars will find this does not classify being
labeled as violence. However, symbolic violence is something that is consistently seen in states.
Symbolic violence is an important tool commonly used by states in the ordering of relationships
of superiors and inferiors. States are able to justify their infliction of terror by saying their own
actions are just a reaction to the symbolic violence that is implicit in opposition. (Nagengast, 111)
This is where we begin to see the topic of political violence finally discussed. First and foremost, it
is important to clarify that political violence may or may not be direct violence. (Nagengast, 114) A
state may take actions such as limiting food sent to poorer people, hurting their chances of survival
without actually physically hurting them. State violence can be referred to by using the term terror.
Terror is used by the states in order to maintain the status

The Political Corruption Of The United States
Political Corruption
All contributions by corporations to any political committee or for any political purpose should be
forbidden by law This quote from Theodore Roosevelt illustrates how corporate money can be
disastrous when involved in election cycles. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The Supreme Court
decided in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission that companies and Super PAC s could
donate unlimited amount of money to support candidates. The Citizens United ruling has caused
increased political corruption in the United States by giving candidates the money they need to win
an election while changing policies that would be beneficial to the company.
Pre Citizens United
There were several landmark supreme court cases and laws before Citizens United that
attempted to regulate campaign contributions. Political corruption can easily be caused by
increased amounts of funds going to a candidate. A candidate will be more likely to benefit
corporate interests because that will allow them to get more money later to help in reelection
efforts. This becomes problematic because average citizens do not have the ability to donate
large sums of money to a candidate. This makes the speech of large corporations worth far more
than the average citizen. This can have a drastic impact on the marketplace of ideas. John Stuart
Mills in his book, On Liberty, creates the marketplace of ideas. This marketplace consists of all
speech being able to have equal weight and face

Othello is depicted by the author as the hero of love as he is ready to safeguard the love of his life.
On the other hand Oroonoko is determined to give the love of his life Imoinda a better life
despite the slim possibility they had because they were both slaves. This makes him go to the
extent of organizing a slave revolt in order to ensure his family does not grow out of slavery.
Despite their effort they are betrayed by their closest allies and this is the reason that results to
their downfall. Othello is betrayed by Lago while Oroonoko is betrayed by his own military
men and later captured as a slave. Another thematic annotation of the two plays is deceit and
jealousy which affects some of the characters making them get involved in some vices which are
not appropriate. Lago sacrifices the friendship and trust that Othello had bestowed upon him due to
the jealousy he had for Michael Cassio over the rank he had been promoted to. Also in The Royal
Slave, Oroonoko is betrayed by his own army as a result of the king s order as he was jealous of
him because he was loved by a woman who everybody considered beautiful and very

Attachment Theory Is Defined As The Emotional And...
Attachment Theory is defined as the emotional and psychological bond between a child and their
caregiver, which starts from birth and is believed to last a lifetime. (Arxcis, 2017). The first
published works of attachment theory were done by John Bowlby, a child psychiatrist, in 1969,
with Mary Ainsworth, a Canadian psychologist, later collaborating with Bowlby to include
different attachment types. Bowlby s theory, which was influenced from Konrad Lorenz s idea of
familial imprinting, stated that attachment bonds would begin to form up until nine months of age
in an infant. From nine months, up until two to three years of age, attachment types would be
observable (Arxcis, 2017). In the 1950 s, Ainsworth set out on an in depth study to... Show more

Whether they are sick, tired, hungry, or upset, caregivers of children with secure attachment most
times consistently engage the child when cued, and provide predictable, supportive emotional and
physical reactions that the child has learned to rely on. Conversely, in avoidant attachment
caregivers have demonstrated that they cannot be relied on to provide emotional support in
response to the child s needs. The caregivers have either reacted to the child s distress in a cold
manner or ignored them completely. Children who are insecurely ambivalent attached often have
caregivers that are inconsistent in their response to the child s distress. The child exhibits
escalating behavior such as cries turning into shrieks and screaming. They appear to want contact
with the caregiver through cues, but will resist contact when attempted by the caregiver.
Disorganized attachment is a result of a caregiver who is inappropriate in their response to their
child, responding sexually, physically or verbally abusive. The children may present with odd
behavior and act out. (Arxcis, 2017). 10 year old Raymond Giovanni is the youngest of three
children. He lives in a two parent household with his mother, a stay at home parent, and his father, a
detective. Ray presents as having a disorganized attachment type with both of his parents. Raymond

Corporal Punishment Is A Form Of Physical Punishment
Corporal punishment is a form of physical punishment that inflicts pain on kids for their negative
actions such as spanking. This topic is controversial because some people feel very strongly that
they should be allowed to continue using these methods and others feel very strongly that they
should not be allowed to. I feel as if this method of punishment is inhumane and should not
continue to be used. The modernization of psychology has proved that hitting children will not
help them learn that what they did was wrong and will probably just make them angry or
frustrated why they were abused. Even if they don t do it again i think that it s just because they
re scared not to, not because they actually learned not to and once they aren t scared anymore then
they may continue to commit that action. Also if it s legal for people to do then in some cases it
will be overused and the person will not be able to get into trouble if they get caught.
Being abused can be a very traumatizing life event that can affect somebody forever, if we start
bringing it back into schools then it could really ruin some kid s lives. According to Yun Jinies,
who writes for abc news, he wrote this article to inform people about some of the dangers that come
along with corporal punishment being in schools. Yun brought up a specific incident that occurred
in a school where a principal paddled a 5 year old student. Tenika Jones says the principal at the

Countess Aurelia crumpled up her paper and tossed it in a pile of other balls of paper that had piled

But there was something about him that compelled her to keep trying, and poetry was what she

Sir Carnell looked up at his king. Yes, your highness?
Respectful? Aurelia carved the word into her tablet, though it left a bad taste in her mouth.
You re coming with me, said Richard. He stood and descended the steps.

Queen Fayre waved at Aurelia. Hi, Aurelia! Did you write something?

  • 2. My Dream Story The story behind me is very long. Lots of stupid things have been done that are very very stupid. I would say it all began 17 years ago in a hospital but, that s going to be a lot of work to type a paper. I m going to start this wonderful life, last year school year. Near the end so all the fun of my life begins. To present day where I continue to do the stuff that makes people mad but it is very fun for me. It was an early morning in the month of May near the end of the day and I was in my Civics class. We were working on our budget project and I was down in the library with a few other people. Believe it or not I got bored really really quick. When I was walking back I was walking on paper all the way back up to class because I was told do it so I did. When I got back to class my teacher gave me a very weird look and didn t say a word. I kept asking, What I can t touch the ground. She didn t say a single word. Just a few days later within the month of May, it was a cool warm night. Where everything was perfect on how it was. No wind, a solid 78 degrees, all by a bonfire around 11 at night. We were sitting there talking and out of nowhere I just got up and decided to walk across the fire for no reason. Everyone looked at me very weirdly. All I asked was, What? My friend Owen just said, You re dumb why would you even do that? All I could come up with was, Why not? He just looked away and laughed. After walking over that fire over and over the bottom of the boots ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Women s Movement 1800s Cultural changes were occurring in the United States in the early 1800s that would eventually contribute to the women s movement. The Second Great Awakening emphasized individualism, this idea expanded to people like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and, Lucretia Mott who fought for women s right to vote. Stanton, Mott, and a few other met in the Seneca Falls, New York; they drew up the first public protest in America against women s political, economic, and social inferiority (Kraditor 1). Women s roles were viewed as homemakers, being part of their family and not individuals with their own rights. Women faced many challenges throughout history with not being able to participate in politics nor receiving equality especially their voting rights. Although there wasn t a federal amendment for women s voting, many states did implement the rights to vote for women. In the 1870s, a few people pioneered for women s rights to enter politics in California, demanding women s suffrage. They based their demand on a fundamental principle: fathers and husbands should not vote for women; women must speak for themselves (Gullett 11). In past history, the English colonies had no representation of themselves in England, so they felt that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The suffragist wanted to gather women of different socioeconomic class to convince the government that all of the women are unified and actually want their voting rights. For instance, the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire is a great example of why working women should have voting rights. So they can fight for better working conditions and improve safety standards. Just as the women of different status started to come together, an economic depression occurred. This drew public attention to their problems and aroused interest in measures for their relief, including more pressure to pass the ballot and protective ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Golden Age Research Paper In the 19th Century, The Jews Muslims and Christians living in Spain experienced a golden age. The golden age was a time of great peace and prosperity among the nations due to the Muslim s acceptance, accommodation and peaceful relations with the Jews and Christians. This golden age began when the Muslims began conquering the Iberian Peninsula in 711. When Islamwas first founded, it was only practiced within the borders of Arabia(modern day Saudi Arabia). However, the Muslims began converting large numbers of indigenous tribes, who resided across North Africa as well as in Asia, and in this way, Islam started to spread. For the first time since their exile from Jerusalem in the year 70CE, they had the opportunity to participate fully in society. The Muslims were tolerant rulers who wanted all their citizens, whether Muslim, Jewish or Christian to participate in the life of the new commonwealth they had founded. In wake of the new tolerant Muslim leaders, a golden age of Jewish immigration dawned in Al Andalus. Middle Eastern as well as North African Jewish immigrants poured into Al Andals by the thousands. At the Jewish population s peak in the 10th century, Al Andalus was by far the largest Jewish centre in all of Europe. Jews were very well integrated and had phenomenal access to the highest levels of power. The Jews were especially well integrated into economic and social life, regularly doing business and interacting with Muslims. Society was very open and Muslims rulers were not threatened by the minorities and were accommodating. Al Andalus, once a mere outpost of the Islamic kingdom becomes a bustling centre of European trade. Viking ships from the North sea as well as merchants from the Islamic capital of Baghdad bring an influx of goods to Al Andalus. The Jewish merchants brought treasures from far and wide and the honesty of the Muslims helped to regulate the market. This example demonstrates how coexistence lead to extremely notable achievements. Within 1 century, the Muslims and Jews built a civilization that exceeded every other European country. By the 8th century s end, the land was the most productive, populated and diverse in all of Europe, staying so for many centuries. During this prosperous period, Al Andalus was exporting and importing more than double the amount of goods than its neighbors. Trade with other European countries was unmatched and by the 11th century more than 40% of Europe s freight was being produced in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Grapefruit Solar Cells And Blackberry Solar Cell Lab Report Titanium dioxide has mesoporous structure that act like a pathway for the electrons crossing through the cell. After dye absorbs light, it will release electrons and these electrons need to travel from cathode to anode, titanium dioxide is a conductor that helps electrons move. If we don t use any metal, these electrons can t travel through thus they can t produce current. the higher the wavelength, the lower the frequency thus the lower the energy the dye will absorb to release an electron. We also know that grapefruit absorbs green, so we see red color, and blackberry absorbs yellow and we see purple color. Grapefruit s color is lighter than blackberry, so the wavelength of grapefruit is smaller than the wavelength of blackberry, and energy grapefruit is required to release an electron is higher than blackberry s. We shine the same light (same energy) on both grapefruit solar cell and blackberry solar cell, blackberry will produce higher current, thus the reading on multimeter will be higher. If we use a juice that is darker than blackberry, than the reading of blackberry solar cell will be lower. (Q3) The purpose of washing the plate with water followed by ethanol is to remove unabsorbed dye and any other residues. (Q4) From this part of experiment, we don t get any constant continuous reading on the multimeter. There are a few readings flash on the screen, but we don t consider them as experiment data. Throughout all of the tasks that I took part in, I believe that I performed well in some of them but then in others I could have performed much better. Throughout all of the tasks I believe that I participated as much as possible in order to get the tasks completed, participation was important for the team because of the limited numbers within the team, if I didn t participate as much as possible then the team may have struggled to complete all of the tasks. Another strength of the team was our ability to come up with a range of different ideas and then working as a team to improve on the ideas, this strength was important to use because we needed to come up with a range of ideas for all of the tasks that we were involved in. if we were unable to come up with a lot of ideas for each task then we may have struggled to complete some of the tasks that we had been set, most of the tasks involved us to work as a team to discuss the ideas that each of us had, we made sure that everyone was listening and participating during each part of the task in which we had to discuss the ideas. The final strength of the team was the overall participation of the team, within all of the tasks every team members made sure that they were participating as much as possible with the role in which they had been set, if all the team members were not participating as much as possible then it could result us in failing some of the tasks that we had been set because in each task we didn t have a big time limit in which we had to come up with ideas, put these ideas into practice and then come up with any alternative ideas that may be needed in order for us to complete the task. Last year Starbucks started bottling their iced coffee and selling them as a new product lines in their stores, as well as many new sandwich choices. The ability to provide fresh new ideas year after year provides Starbuckswith a growing customer base and a growing net gain. Starbucks will continue to come up with new ideas and products that will continue to bring in more customers to established stores and the means to build stores in new markets expanding their ability to generate revenue, their ability to innovate and market to different cultures globally. Starbucks ability to cut cost anywhere it can enables them to keep the money they use to operate at a minimum, leaving more of their revenue as profit. This allows Starbucks to expand and grow rapidly and increase their profitability greatly. The Chinese market makes up a large portion of Starbucks profit. China s population plays a big role in the importance of that market to Starbucks and the ability to pull a big profit from that region. In an interview with Charlie Rose, Howard Schultz said, We educated [China] on coffee ...now [China is] drinking as much coffee as [America] is. He talks about the ice age and the history explaining the change of our generations. He expresses how beautiful nature is, and the need to preserve it, for example, there are no words to describe the beauty of nature. Due to a glacier, one fell and crushed a valley that had soon slowly started filling with water; this is explaining the change that had occurred from long ago to how it is now. There are two Kinds of Ethics Leopold talks about, which are ecological and philosophical. Ethic is carried in a way to be a connection with people and the land, for example they think the people will start to feel more of an authority to care and respect for natural resources. Similarities Between Human And Human Information Processing Topic: A comparison between human and computer on information processing Do humans and computers really process information similarly? My essay was inspired when I read how early psychologists and scientist used the newly invented computer to explain the complexity and processes of the brain. This was the beginning of cognitive psychology. Before I compare the differences and similarities between computer and humans on information processing, it is only necessary to highlight the history of cognitive psychology and the information processing model. Cognitive psychology is defined as, the scientific study of the mind as an information processor (McLeod, 2015). Cognitive psychologist developed a cognitive model by focusing on processes such as memory, attention, consciousness etc. To study human processes, cognitive psychologist mainly used a nomothetic approach but instances where they conduct case studies they would adopt an idiographic approach. The development of cognitive psychology was due to several reasons. firstly, there was a dissatisfaction with the behaviorist simplistic explanation of behavior. Secondly, they wanted to develop better experimental methods to investigate cognitive processes. Lastly, because of the invention of computers, cognitive psychologists wanted to explore the similarities between humans and computers processing of information. It was the computer analogy that aided cognitive psychology in studying the complexity of the human mind ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Central Line Clinical Practice Guideline Rational Central venous catheters (CVCs) are frequently used in intensive care units (ICUs) for a number of reasons (measure central venous pressure, when peripheral veins are unable to be accessed, administration of medications/therapies and aspiration of blood samples) (Conroy, 2006, p. 98). Patients in this environment already have an increased risk of infection because of their treatments. Patient treatments commonly involve invasive devices or interventions (major surgery), antibiotic therapy (raises the risk of bacterial resistance) while steroid, chemotherapy and radiation therapy all suppress the immune system (Hatler, Hebden, Kaler, Zack, 2010). Aseptic technique is critically important to protect patients from CLABSIs; infections are caused by either intrinsic (e.g. patients own flora) or extrinsic (e.g. surrounding environment) pathogens. Asepsis therefore removes patients skin flora and ensures flora picked up from either other patients or the surrounding environment is not introduced into the patient (Mollee et al., 2011). Raad et al. (1994) found in a randomised trial that CLABSIs were 6.3 times higher in a control group then those who had their CVC inserted under maximal barrier precautions (consisting of mask, cap, sterile gloves, gown, large drape). These findings were replicated by Abi‐Said et al. (1999) who also found that if strict aseptic techniques were adhered too during dressing changes, in addition to close monitoring of patients there was a decrease in bloodstream infection rates. As described above CLABSIs are more common when aseptic techniques at the time of insertion have not been observed. Contamination of catheters by skin flora at the time of insertion is one of the risks for developing a subsequent CLABSI. Therefore CVCs need to be replaced within 48hrs if asepsis cannot be guaranteed for insertion (LeMaster et al., 2010). For insertion and during care of a CVC ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Just as there are innumerable variations between Christian denominations of today, Piper reasons, even if many Jews did not have a works based understanding of salvation, some certainly did. Paul could be addressing this particular subset of Jews within Romans and Galatians. To Piper, Paul s letters could be toward those legalistic Jews who view the Law as that which does not literally save, but which creates spiritual superiority and in some ways, earns a degree of favor before God. Piper views this kind of works righteousness as warped and unbiblical, citing likened issues as the purpose for Paul s composition of Romans and Galatians. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a matter of controversy between Wright and Piper. In the same way, Piper argues, the essence of human righteousness is faithfulness to uphold the glory of God in all that we do. The issue, however, as Piper describes, is that humans fall short of this glory, and thus, no one is righteous. Piper would cite biblical references such as Romans 3:23 and Romans 3:10 to illustrate this Reformer perspective. Convinced that Paul is speaking of a positive righteousness being counted to the defendant, not merely the verdict of clemency, Piper believes that Wright s system leaves no room for imputation of righteousness, as it is traditionally understood: Christ s obedience imputed to the sinner s account. Due to the potential deadly nature of the Yellow Fever, it would be vital that people within the community get vaccinated immediately after an outbreak happens. India is a highly populated area with a generally warm climate. The environment in India would sustain the vectors necessary for transmitting Yellow Fever, and the massive quantity of potential hosts could lead to a massive outbreak. Businesses would be affected because travel into the outbreak area would slow down. The local government would have to focus on the outbreak instead of other local issues. The local government would have to report the case to the higher levels of government and thus relaying the information to the World Health Organization. Hospitals would have to supply screening and vaccinations to the citizens of the community. Patients would fill hospital beds until treatment is finished, and this would lead to an overcrowding of patients in the hospital. Schools would have to have ways of getting screening of students. Due to the students being close to one another throughout the day, the students would need bug spray, and long sleeved shirts with pants. The school would have to use money on resources such as screens for open windows and doors so that the vectors cannot get into the classrooms. • 23. The Strategy For A Portfolio Management Strategies This argument is flawed. In order to know performances of both strategies, both the shift direction and shift size should taken into consideration. First, it is not appropriate to conclude that one strategy can outperform another strategy in the category of active portfolios management strategies even though under the condition that there is a steeping of the yield curve. Performances of different strategies are various, different, even though under one same condition, since the detailed information of each strategy is unknown. Theoretically, performances of two strategies depends on the detailed shift situations (trend and size) of the yield curve. Second, the core method of the barbell strategy is focusing on the exceeding situations. To be more specific, the barbell strategy concerns securities with the longest and the shortest maturities. Meanwhile, the main approach of the ladder strategy is to build a portfolio including securities with approximately equivalent maturities. Third, however, under some situations, ladder strategy will outperform the barbell strategy. To be more precise, once the maturities of these two strategies are same, and if the yield curve will experience a negative steepening trend, the discount rate of the ladder strategy will be lower. Consequently, as the denominator of the ladder strategy is smaller than that of the barbell strategy, the ladder strategy will beat the other one. On average, there are 15 minutes of commercials for every one hour of TV programming, so producers only have a short amount of time in which to establish plot, story, characters and resolution. Good characters and bad characters must be quickly and simply established. Deeper, more realistic, more ambiguous characterizations make it hard for viewers to know who to root for. It also requires more screen time that takes away from on screen action, states the Center for Media Literacy. As a result, TV and film criminals are reduced to caricatures. They are l00% bad. The demographics of poverty offer insight to public administrators and policy writers beyond the demographics of simply rural versus metro areas. For example, in 2016 rural White citizens were half as likely to live in poverty as either Black or Native American citizens. In addition, a female head of household in a rural area is nearly eight times as likely to live in poverty as a married couple. Therefore, any adverse effect observed is difficult to treat. This issue is only magnified when two or more drugs which are incompatible are administered together12 (Fig 1.0). There are guides and references available when looking at drug incompatibility but they can be limited13. As such, there are situations where the outcome of combining two drugs is unknown and hence the responsibility falls the pharmacist to determine if the infusion is suitable for treatment or not. This paper seeks to look at the drug ketamine; a sedative commonly used in pain management, combined with two other commonly used drugs in hospitals, vancomycin; an antibiotic, and tramadol; an analgesic. It will also seek to define incompatibility before looking at the importance of drug compatibility and limitations of guides following the administration of Y site infusion in pain management of pediatrics. • 33. History Of Druidism There seems to be a lot of conflicting information as to where exactly Druidism originates and what sort of practices they experienced. Most of what was learned of Druidism was communicated orally, which is a major reason I believe as to why there is so many missing elements or inconsistent information. Across the board people mainly agree that it began in Europe. From some writings of Julius Caesar, people had believed it began in Britain. Druidism is a religionthat is practiced by the Celts or Celtic people. The genealogy of the Druids begins roughly 25,000 years ago when any of the first demonstration of any sacred or spiritual practices were discovered in Europe (The order of Bards Ovates and Druids, A Brief History of Druidry, par 1).... After my research I have found that Druidry is more of a spiritual path than anything, concentrating mostly on being animists (the belief that nature is enlivened or energized by distinct personalized spirit beings separate from bodies). Druids tend to rejoice and meditate outside becoming one with nature, though this is not the only way for the Druids (The Order of Bards Ovates and Druids, Druid Beliefs, par 2). Since the core motivation of this group is nature...they consider themselves to be healers and teachers, this is one thing that all who follow Druidism have in common, but not all Druids have the same set of beliefs as far as whether a God is involved. After learning about monotheism, animists and polytheism in Chapter 13 of our Cultural Anthropology textbook just recently, I had also learned that there are monotheistic and polytheistic Druids. The Importance Of Operant Conditioning Operant Conditioning Within the early 19th Century, Edward Throne like conducted experiments on dogs and cats to determine the way these animals behave under certain conditions. These studies were conducted through replicating and standardizing the circumstances that the animals were in through a controlled environment. As such, this model demonstrated that animals had the nature to learn when they were presented with certain consequences. In 1938, Burrhus Friederich (B. F.) developed the core idea of the Operant ConditioningSkinner, which claims that operant conditioning, was brought about by the response from the operant under threat (Sakagami, Lattal, 2016). Some factors were involved in the increase of the operant conditioning especially when Edward Thorndike was examining the behavior of cats and rats. It was necessary to consider the problem solving abilities of these animals within puzzle boxes that would otherwise lead the animals in a state of constraint. Moreover, there was a need to understand the relationship exhibited between the appropriate reaction to the individual situation and the associated strengths to the same. Moreover, other factors such as the ability of the animals to learn under the conditions presented as was later proven by Skinner. Invasion is the act of entering a country while bringing it down under domination or control, especially by conquest. By this definition, the Spanish invaded the Americasbecause they dominated and controlled the religion, education, economy and governance of the indigenous Americans. The Spanish cannot be considered to have settled the Americas, because the act of settling is based on inhabiting a place where no people have lived before. Agriculture and farming were important for them, as they used their large lands to produce foods for the families, or they would set up markets to earn money for themselves. Due to the Spanish arriving, their land was removed from them and their currency was confiscated. The encomienda system was introduced giving the Aztec lands to the Spanish who arrived. They also introduced the haciendas which was where members of the Spanish were sent to the Americas to spread Catholicism in return for large lands. The haciendas were productive and the conquistadors gained wealth as the gold and silver mines made Spain the wealthiest in Europe. The Golds were very important to the Spanish as the Spanish described themselves as Spaniards who suffer from a disease that only Gold can cure . This is implying to us that Gold made them cruel and ruthless and that they are greedy, which is another reason in why the Spanish invaded. Police brutality was one of the major factors that contributed to the people s uprising. When governor Hughes appointed a committee to investigate the causes of the uprising and the ways to improve the relationship between the policeand the Newark s community, there were many testimonies and evidences that proved that police brutalitywas one of the major causes leading to the uprising. Despite all the data and the evidences that the Governor s Commission Report (GSCCD) included and the testimonies of many people that witnessed the uprising, the Report of the New Jersey State Patrolmen s Benevolent Association (PBA) rejected the findings to the Governor s Commission Report and claimed that police brutality was just a stereotype in the African American neighborhoods. They suggested that the main reason that caused the uprising was the weakness of official response (PBA Report ix) to criminal acts done by members of the black community. This paper will focus mainly on assessing the arguments made by the PBA report and comparing them with the GSCCD report and the testimonies of the witnesses of the uprising. The Political Corruption Of The United States Political Corruption All contributions by corporations to any political committee or for any political purpose should be forbidden by law This quote from Theodore Roosevelt illustrates how corporate money can be disastrous when involved in election cycles. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The Supreme Court decided in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission that companies and Super PAC s could donate unlimited amount of money to support candidates. The Citizens United ruling has caused increased political corruption in the United States by giving candidates the money they need to win an election while changing policies that would be beneficial to the company. Pre Citizens United There were several landmark supreme court cases and laws before Citizens United that attempted to regulate campaign contributions. Political corruption can easily be caused by increased amounts of funds going to a candidate. A candidate will be more likely to benefit corporate interests because that will allow them to get more money later to help in reelection efforts. This becomes problematic because average citizens do not have the ability to donate large sums of money to a candidate. Othello is depicted by the author as the hero of love as he is ready to safeguard the love of his life. On the other hand Oroonoko is determined to give the love of his life Imoinda a better life despite the slim possibility they had because they were both slaves. This makes him go to the extent of organizing a slave revolt in order to ensure his family does not grow out of slavery. Despite their effort they are betrayed by their closest allies and this is the reason that results to their downfall. Othello is betrayed by Lago while Oroonoko is betrayed by his own military men and later captured as a slave. Another thematic annotation of the two plays is deceit and jealousy which affects some of the characters making them get involved in some vices which are not appropriate. Lago sacrifices the friendship and trust that Othello had bestowed upon him due to the jealousy he had for Michael Cassio over the rank he had been promoted to. Also in The Royal Slave, Oroonoko is betrayed by his own army as a result of the king s order as he was jealous of him because he was loved by a woman who everybody considered beautiful and very ... • 51. Attachment Theory Is Defined As The Emotional And... Attachment Theory is defined as the emotional and psychological bond between a child and their caregiver, which starts from birth and is believed to last a lifetime. (Arxcis, 2017). The first published works of attachment theory were done by John Bowlby, a child psychiatrist, in 1969, with Mary Ainsworth, a Canadian psychologist, later collaborating with Bowlby to include different attachment types. Bowlby s theory, which was influenced from Konrad Lorenz s idea of familial imprinting, stated that attachment bonds would begin to form up until nine months of age in an infant. From nine months, up until two to three years of age, attachment types would be observable (Arxcis, 2017). In the 1950 s, Ainsworth set out on an in depth study to... Whether they are sick, tired, hungry, or upset, caregivers of children with secure attachment most times consistently engage the child when cued, and provide predictable, supportive emotional and physical reactions that the child has learned to rely on. Conversely, in avoidant attachment caregivers have demonstrated that they cannot be relied on to provide emotional support in response to the child s needs. The caregivers have either reacted to the child s distress in a cold manner or ignored them completely. Children who are insecurely ambivalent attached often have caregivers that are inconsistent in their response to the child s distress. The child exhibits escalating behavior such as cries turning into shrieks and screaming. They appear to want contact with the caregiver through cues, but will resist contact when attempted by the caregiver. Disorganized attachment is a result of a caregiver who is inappropriate in their response to their child, responding sexually, physically or verbally abusive. The children may present with odd behavior and act out. (Arxcis, 2017). 10 year old Raymond Giovanni is the youngest of three children. He lives in a two parent household with his mother, a stay at home parent, and his father, a detective. Ray presents as having a disorganized attachment type with both of his parents. Raymond s mother often excludes him from activities that his siblings partake in. He knows not to interrupt her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Corporal Punishment Is A Form Of Physical Punishment Corporal punishment is a form of physical punishment that inflicts pain on kids for their negative actions such as spanking. This topic is controversial because some people feel very strongly that they should be allowed to continue using these methods and others feel very strongly that they should not be allowed to. I feel as if this method of punishment is inhumane and should not continue to be used. The modernization of psychology has proved that hitting children will not help them learn that what they did was wrong and will probably just make them angry or frustrated why they were abused. Even if they don t do it again i think that it s just because they re scared not to, not because they actually learned not to and once they aren t scared anymore then they may continue to commit that action. Also if it s legal for people to do then in some cases it will be overused and the person will not be able to get into trouble if they get caught. Being abused can be a very traumatizing life event that can affect somebody forever, if we start bringing it back into schools then it could really ruin some kid s lives. According to Yun Jinies, who writes for abc news, he wrote this article to inform people about some of the dangers that come along with corporal punishment being in schools. Yun brought up a specific incident that occurred in a school where a principal paddled a 5 year old student. Tenika Jones says the principal at the Joyce Bullock Elementary School in Levy ... • 53. The Story Of Sir Carnell Countess Aurelia crumpled up her paper and tossed it in a pile of other balls of paper that had piled up over the past few days. She banged her head against her desk. She d watched Sir Carnell for weeks on end, yet she couldn t write a simple poem about him. Every time she wrote one word, it wasn t good enough. It didn t sound right, didn t describe him right. But there was something about him that compelled her to keep trying, and poetry was what she was best at. Aurelia stood and grabbed her stylus and wax tablet from her bedside table. She left her chamber and headed straight into the courtyard. She found Sir Carnell posted in front of the stables. He stood so still that one might think he d froze to death. Even with the ... Aurelia heaved a sigh. Sir Carnell nodded and all three of them left the stables. The knight took Sir Carnell s post while Sir Carnell headed for the keep. Aurelia followed him across the bridge. They went into the keep then into the hall. Sir Carnell went to the dais where the King and Queen sat. Aurelia took a seat at the small table that was set up below. Sir Carnell looked up at his king. Yes, your highness? Respectful? Aurelia carved the word into her tablet, though it left a bad taste in her mouth. You re coming with me, said Richard. He stood and descended the steps. Special? Aurelia lifted her stylus to write, but stopped. Special was too general. Queen Fayre waved at Aurelia. Hi, Aurelia! Did you write something? Aurelia? said Richard. He leaned on the table. Didn t notice you come in. Aurelia smiled at him and slid her tablet off the table and into her lap. She looked up at Fayre. Uh,
