The Game Of Football Is An Opportunity For Young Athletes
A Game to Remember For many young athletes all over America football is an opportunity for them to make new friends. I started playing the game my
sophomore year of high school in a medium sized Missouri town. This sport help me develop skills to create special bonds with new people. In one of our
games against Webb City I learned that hard work and dedication really pays off, on and off the field, and I plan to use these skills throughout the rest of my
life. Players may get beat up and exhausted but they have to stay positive and mentally tough throughout every game. Learning that the game of football is
similar to living a successful life, I am going to be applying these lesson from football to my future as a human being. Practices all started at 6:45am each day
in the middle of May, a week after school got out. All the football players had to meet up in the weight room of the high school to begin our summer workouts.
We worked on strength, coronation, and conditioning. Everyone dreaded Wednesdays our sprint days, and as each week passed the amount we had to sprint
increased by 400 yards. This requirement has taught me that physical potential requires mental toughness to become successful. I remember hearing multiple
teammates grunting and moaning, saying I can t run anymore or I m about to throw up, as they dropped to their knees. As we kept doing sprints my legs were
beginning to shake and ache. I could tell I was slowly giving up and slowing down. That s when

How Did Joseph Haydn Develop
Joseph Haydn (1732 1809) is recognized as one of the most famous composers of the Classical Era due to his contributions to the classical style. Not only is
Haydn recognized today as a brilliant composer, but he was also popular during his time due to his originality and new ideas in music. Some of his new ideas
include generating the basic development of formal structure in various styles of music and creating his own musical characteristics that deviate from the
standards of his time. His individuality is demonstrated through his numerous symphonies, string quartets, piano trios, piano sonatas, masses, and operas
specifically the works that were composed while he was at the Esterhazy palace. Haydn s success and originality is attributed to the time he spent working for
the Esterhazy family while developing his unique style of composing. The time Haydn spent at the Esterhazy Palace contributed greatly to his musical success
and individuality through his relationship with the family, isolation from other musicians, and the support he received both inside and outside of the palace.

As stated in Haydn: A Creative Life in Music published by Geiringer (1963), Haydn also wanted to continue to impress the prince with his musical skills, so

difficult instrument to play, and Haydn was writing for his employer to excel on his instrument. Haydn was also one of the highest paid workers in the court,
which shows how much Prince Nikolaus valued Haydn s work and efforts towards the music of the palace (Landon Jones,

Kennedy Won The Democratic Convention
Democratic Presidential Nomination On April 30 1960, James Rowe, a Washington Lawyer, gave $10,000 the campaign of Hubert H. Humphrey (Peters, P.
62). Rowe funded Humphrey s campaign in hopes that Humphrey would defeat John F. Kennedy. Moreover, Rowe thought that this would lead to Johnson s
path of the presidency (Peters, P. 62) However; it was too late because Kennedy was dominating the presidential nominations. Instead, Johnson was relying on
his running mate Humphrey to win the Democratic Convention. Ultimately, Johnson hoped that Humphrey would choose him to be his vice president if
Humphrey won the Democratic Convention. Johnson believed that he was an excellent candidate because of his impressive record as Senate majority leader
and his friendship with powerful Democratic senators (Peters, P. 62). However, Johnson s strategy was a failure because Humphrey lost to a landslide to
Kennedy on May 9, 1960 (Bornet, P. 63) Ultimately, Kennedy nearly received majority of the votes. Moreover, Kennedy won the Democratic Convention
nomination with 806 votes to 409 (Bornet, P. 64). Kennedy also offered Johnson the vice presidential nomination in the 1960 nomination. Lastly, Kennedy
offered Johnson the vice president nomination because Kennedy knew that Johnson had a lot of connections in Washington that could lead to his win in the
1960 presidential election. For instance, Johnson used his personal connections to help Kennedy win the electoral vote from states that Kennedy

Analysis Of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas...
Rachel Hutter: Engineer, Imagineer, and Mother If you could have dinner with any person, living or dead, who would it be and why? This question is most
commonly asked at an event filled with a large group of strangers, as an icebreaker. Many would typically answer, George Washington, Ben Franklin,
Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and maybe if someone wants variety they could say someone like Marie Curie. All of these answers are superficial and
simply the first historical person that someone could think of. In fact, I know I would have answered with George Washington. He was the first one to my
mind, but why? Do I really want to have dinner with George Washington? What would I even talk to him about? I imagine the conversation would go
something like this, Me: So uhm, I just wanted to thank you for crossing the Delaware River and stuff, that was pretty amazing and really impacted the rest of
our country and our freedoms, thank you. George: Yeah happy to, I m glad I did that too. *Proceed to eat lunch quietly because I don t have questions nor
really care. I could just read a history book and know the information I would ask from him. So when I was asked, what engineer would I want to have dinner
with? it made me really hesitate and actually think for a minute. To then specify further and be asked what women engineer I would want dinner with made me
really self reflect. What questions would I want to ask another female engineer? What are my final goals? What makes

Dark Matter and Dark Energy
Dark matter and dark energy are two entities that have very little known about them, except that they make up about 95 percent of the universe. Even though
this is a large part of the universe, it wasn t even thought about until the 1960 s or the 1970 s. This is because of the fact that it is very hard to detect and almost
impossible to see. Although it is impossible to see, we can see the effects of them both in our galaxy. One way that we can see the dark matter is the movement
of the Milky Way Galaxy. While studying the Milky Way, scientists noticed that the outer rings of the galaxy were moving at the same speed as the inner rings
( Dark Energy, Dark Matter , n.d.) . This may seem normal, but, due to the law of gravity, the outer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
MACHO s may be neutron stars, black holes, or brown dwarfs. The reason why they think that MACHO s may be dark matter is because neutron stars and
black holes are big enough to cause the gravitational changes, but the downside to these theories is that, both neutron stars and black holes are caused because
of supernovae, which are not common occurrences, and they should put off high amounts of energy and elements, but there aren t any signs of these things in
sufficient amounts in the halos of galaxies. but it could also be the MACHO brown dwarf, which are stars that are one eighth of the mass of the sun.
Astronomers have found brown dwarfs around other stars and planets, but there isn t any evidence of large enough clusters to cause the gravitational changes
caused by dark matter. Dark matter could also be WIMP s, which are subatomic particles that aren t made out of regular matter. These could be neutralinos,
axions, and neutrinos. Neutrinos were originally thought to not have mass, but in 1998, a neutrino was found that has mass, but it doesn t have enough mass to
contribute to dark matter. Axions may have small amounts of mass, but it is stated that there would be large amounts of it that were made by the big bang.
They are now searching for axion particles in our solar system s halo and in the sun. Neutralinos are particles that are

Creating Art Analysis
The feel of the brush and the smoothness of the stroke when paint meets the canvas. This feeling is what I strive for. Art to me is an escape and simply to put it
in terms is my way of life. It s not just my hobby, interest, or talent it is so much more to me. When I decide to create something it comes from an inspiration
that overcomes me. I have many ranges of art that I do such as, painting in oil, acrylic, or watercolor. Several of my pieces of art is from graphite pencil. Most
of my topics are of people or well at least the faces of the people. I mainly draw what I like to but sometimes I will take request from people and draw them
what they want. The reason that I tend to draw faces more than anything else is because I like to express my feelings through the facial expressions of the ones
I draw. Creating art gives me a fulfillment, one that makes me feel like I ve done something good. I don t just do it because it makes me feel good but because
I enjoy it. Making something that shows my emotions and then other people start to feel what I feel without words. The way that this can be really seen is

something to love. Not only that but something to look forward to when my day becomes not so happy. It has created me a future a happy future of doing what
I want and not stuck wishing I did something that I enjoy greatly. Through art I ve learned what appeals to the eye of the average human. When helping

Some of us may suggest investing the pension into stock. But I believe more that most of us will say No for such proposal because of its high risk. But don t
worry, you are not alone.
In 1998, some NPC member had already give suggestions like this. The Prime Minister Zhu, he said NO to this suggestions because of the high risk in stock.
We must keep safety first. So such proposal is killed at that time. If anyone who is interested in his speech, you could find out his idea in Mr.Zhu s Speech
Record .
In 2012, the same investing plan was proposed again, just like 14 years most people still reject or doubt at such plan. But at this time, the government accepted
the proposal and made a realistic schedule for it because the situation of pension was worse than 14 years ago. In the government schedule, they will invest
30% of pension insurance into stock and stock bond, the totally amount is about 600 billion.
Do you feel scared with this plan? Obviously the answer is yes. Pls look at index of shanghai security since 1990. We could find out that the annual return of
stock is about 14%. This diagraph shows the annual return of bond is about 3.5%. The difference between them is more than 10%. What is your feeling? Better
or not?
We can see the risk of return from stock is much better than bond. But why people still prefer to invest the money in bond? Maybe it is because of the myopic
loss aversion, people always try to check the risk

Theme Of The Seventh Seal
Undoubtedly, one of the greatest masterpiece ever made, The Seventh Seal, Ingmar Bergman s finest analogy about the human condition, seems quiet timeless
and deeply familiar with the world that it takes place in. Set during the Middle Ages during the Black Death (plague) era, The Seventh Seal begins with a
narrator s voice that reads from the Book of Revelations from the bible: And when the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the
space of half an hour. The said silence in heaven or rather the silence of God in the world is Bergman s major theme, along with death. This film sets a high
level of ambition by using a theme that is mainly universal, which is the quest for the meaning of life.

Additionally, the dominant element used to explore the philosophical theme can be found in the setting of the movie. For instance, deserted villages are
everywhere; and every town they run into appears to have been destroyed by the Black Plague. No set pieces are nice or lively in a way to suggest that the
world they live in is dark and disturbing, or anything but a land for the dying. The gloomy tone of the film is mainly emphasized by a simple use of grayscale,
as it really accentuates the setting where an almost desolate land caused by the plague. The scoring of the music is also strengthening the gloomy tone of the
film. On the whole, the film is aesthetically beautiful and philosophically brilliant, which is still become a relevant topic even after half of the century passed.
Thanks to those elements, Ingmar Bergman was able to help clarify one of the most questionable human thought, which is the meaning of life itself. Following

which most of its laity are employed. I believe that the understanding and revelation of God s word is all encompassing; so that in every season of our maturity
in Christ, we can visit upon a word, a precept, with a fresh understanding and a new perspective that does not violate the integrity of it meaning and/or alter
our doctrinal understanding. I believe that the role of evangelism is a prime example of how God has not only used the ministry of the gospel for the call to
salvation, but also how he builds the body, institutionalizes the body, equips the body, empowers the body then dispatches the body back into the world from
which it was called (Matthew 5:14). It is very difficult to dissect the anatomy of the body into its heterogeneous functions, then focus on one of them, when
you know that the body of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit is really a single organism (1 Corinthians 12:12 ), with a single purpose, The Kingdom of God.
However, it is one of the prime functions of the body to evangelize, which is the bringing of the good news, and the message of hope, that Gods people will
become alive in him. This mission of evangelism (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15) was

Kurt Vonnegut
This conversation really stood out to me while I was reading the chapter. Kurt Vonnegut was able to connect the dreadful history of our past with important
current problems of our present. In this time period of this conversation, Billy is with his wife, Valencia Pilgrim, at their honeymoon. Throughout the book,
Valencia is described as an extremely good natured woman. However, she is slightly large in size and is extremely conscious of it. As you can see, despite the
fact that the book was written in the mid 1900s, beauty standards have been imposed on women since the beginning of time. Valencia is one of my favorite
characters in the book. Although only appearing once or twice, she is presented as a caring wife and a loving mother. Valencia

Ww1 Total War
Total war is a military conflict in which each of the participating nations mobilize all available resources in order to completely extinguish another nation s
ability to engage in warfare. The utilization of the governments, economies and populations of the participating nations in WW1 reached an extent never seen
before in history. A war economy was adopted throughout Britain, France and Germany. The mass manufacturing of weapons, munitions and other war
material was prioritized, and with the mass leap of technology, it indeed affected the outcome and the nature of WW1.
As in the wars prior to WW1, artillery was a key component and a prerequisite for battlefield success. Artillery proved to be a crucial aspect and the number
one threat to infantry and tanks alike. Artillery came in several light, medium and heavy forms. Furthermore, field guns served in the direct line of sight role
whilst mortars and howitzers allowed for indirect fire support. Howitzers were established in order to be used under cover or against hidden targets. They fired
shells on a high trajectory through a short barrel and were considered the best gun to employ against fortifications. The mortar was also similar in ... Show

Jon Harris In Into Thin Air
After finishing the novel Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, detailing the first hand experience of the catastrophe that took place on Mount Everest in 1996 and
ultimately killed fifteen people, it has come to my attention the importance using of supplemental oxygen while climbing at high altitudes. Although many
people have accomplished to summit Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen, those attempting to summit Everest without the use of supplemental
oxygen will potentially have disastrous repercussions on not only themselves but the climbers surrounding them causing serious injuries or in some cases
death.

Nevertheless, Krakauer hoped to conserve what little he had and asked his friend, Andy Harris, to turn his regulator down. Unfortunately, Krakauer soon
realized that Harris, in his hypoxically impaired state, had mistakenly cranked the valve open to full flow, draining the tank. (Krakauer) With the declining
amount of oxygen reaching the brain, climbers have trouble performing even the easiest tasks. Harris demonstrates the importance of using supplemental
oxygen for his own health, but also the dangers it may have on his teammates. Harris s hypoxic mistake caused Krakauer to panic and he slowly suffocated
until he descended and retrieved a fresh tank of oxygen. Although Harris was not aware of his mistake, the lack of oxygen was changing the way he thought
and reacted in certain situations, therefore posing a danger to his friends and teammates while in such an intense landscape. Andrew Bisharat, in his article
What s the Big Deal About Climbing Everest Without Oxygen? interviews former climbers of Everest and details their experiences while battling the bitter

why everyone should own 1 punk cd Essay

Rock. Today I d like to talk to you about this genre of music that was created in reaction to other forms of music, and hopefully influence you to check it out
and maybe even buy a CD. i. I ve been listening to punk since as early as the 5th grade. Punk (make quote sign) is a term applied to a child or teenager who
acts in an antisocial way. Punk music is a form of rebellion, and it turned against all other musical forms and influences at its time of creation. Punk music is as
much cultural as it is musical. It is anarchic, against society, and against everything in established order. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Buzzcocks were another band from the northwest, and helped forge the Manchester punk scene by helping bands like Warsaw, who later changed their
name to Joy Division. The Ramones had a bigger following in the UK than they did in their native country; the US was too embraced in Fleetwood Mac and
the Eagles to take any notice of anything else. Malcolm Mclaren was the owner of a shop called quot;Sex quot; in Kings road, which sold Bondage gear and
punk items. Eventually he gathered together a few young Naive boys who were willing to help him revolutionise the world of music. Johnny Rotten, as legend
has it, first entered his shop with a Pink Floyd T shirt sketched with the words quot;I hate quot; above the band s name. As a result of the Bill Grundy show
incident, which gave the Pistols and the Banshees no shortage of press coverage, punk became almost impossible to ignore and major labels snapped and
signed most of the first wave. At first, a lot of them did refuse to change, but the rate at which some changed their musical style was alarming; The Clash by
1980 had turned into a convovulated mess, with Soul, Reggae, Funk, Rap and many other styles being present on the triple Sandinista album. Likewise, Stiff

Captain Jack Sparrow Short Story
Many years after Captain Jack Sparrow retired from his years of pillaging villages and ruling the sea, he settled down into an office selling compasses. One
day, Captain Jack was moving a barrel of rum, twisted his back in a strange way, and has been hurting for the past 5 weeks. He decided to visit his old friend
Tia Dalma. Well, well if it isn t Jack Sparrow. What brings you back to me? says Tia. Jack explains to Tia how he has been experiencing pain in his lower back
after the 2 surgeries he recently had. They called the first surgery a laminectomy and the second a partial discectomy. I don t know what they did to me but the
pain has not gone away grimaces Jack. Tia smiles, Jack, your first surgery was done to remove a part of the bone in your lower back, and then another surgery
was performed to remove a part the cushion between my bones . She proceeds, you herniated a disc which put pressure against a nerve and... . Jack interrupts, I
have absolutely no idea what you are talking about . Tia nods, think of a cream filled pastry. When you squeeze it too hard, all the cream in the inside comes
out. The insides of that cushion, or disc, between your back bone is touching a nerve. Jack goes to speak but Tia interrupts, nerves are found everywhere in the
body and help us sense things and perform movements . Jack smiles half heartedly. When a nerve has any pressure on it, it can cause pain in the body. Those
surgeries relieved that pressure, freeing up

The Influence Of Bacon s Rebellion
There have been many wars, and many rebellions in our short history of America. A lot of these have been over the same reason over and over again, some
serve their own purpose, and others have even been purposeless. Even though they may not serve a purpose there must have been a reason for their upbringing.
Whether that upbringing took months, years, or even decades, it doesn t really matter because it all can all be studied and analyzed one way or another just to
see if there was anything was gained from it. These is the possibility of nothing being gained from it, these historic events can be analyzed and studied from
something that was lost. Either or, something always can be learned from wars or rebellions. They can bring people together to fight for a cause or fight against
an opposing party. Whether that reason be a belief in something or an act up against a wrong doing, that event has the power to bring people together. One
rebellion shows all of these things and creates a big impact in the very beginning of our nation from long ago, and that is the first one in American history,
Bacon s Rebellion. Bacon s Rebellion of 1676 was a significant act against American Government and is very similar with the American Civil War because the
rebellion showed signs of unity amongst Americans of different races and those from different economic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Constructivist View of North Korean Nuclear Proliferation
Since the end of the Korean War, the United States has enacted policies to isolate and undermine the Kim Dynasty in North Korea. A key development took
place in the past several decades where North Korea broke away from the Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) to develop their own nuclear weapons and while
lacking launch capabilities, they have been successful in their development. During this process, the United States took active policies to deter the North
Koreans in pursuit of their goals. It is easy to assume that the United States took this stance in order to maintain a military edge in the region. But under closer
examination, this neo realist perspective does not explain why the United States pursued this policy. In reality, North Korea ... Show more content on

The reason the US did not take military action against North Korea was precisely because there do exist constraints, even presuming anarchy exists in the first
place. It is very clear that anarchy as such is not a structural cause of anything (Wendt, 1995). Anarchy is a social construct that is ever evolving through
changes in norms and identities. The reasons that the US was constrained did not result from anarchy. Rather, it resulted from a changing international
structure that affected the identity and interest of the US. This conflict began in a time of great upheaval in the world of international relations. The USSR had
collapsed a mere two years prior to North Korea announcing that it would withdraw from the NPT. This created a sudden gap in what had been driving
American foreign policy up until that point. Prior to the Soviet collapse, the US policy was simple. It would use all military and diplomatic capabilities to stop
the spread of communism throughout the world. The United States saw itself as the protector of democracy and freedom throughout the world. Without the
USSR, the US needed to construct a new foreign policy towards the rest of the world and specifically towards North Korea. Whereas the US would have acted
more aggressively if Soviets placed nuclear weapons in North Korea, they were much more diplomatic in this instance. The difference is that North Korea was

The Mechanics And Technicality Based Conceptual...
Module three was probably the most complex modules that we have encountered this semester for me. I viewed this module as the mechanics and technicality
based conceptual understanding of consumer behavior. We recognize that consumer behavior isn t just static, but is much more in tune with the complexity that
is the Human mind. This module to me represented the consumer coming to the final stage of the consumption process and becoming aware that a final
decision is eminent. When I look back at my purchases I think how much went into buying an item or service and actually getting to that point where I have
made that final purchase. It s interesting the one thing that spurs my whole consumption process is when I have told myself that I really want something, I need
something, or I have to have something. This self awareness is what even allows the consumer to know what specifically they want to purchase. If we don t
have this identifying behavior then product selection ends up being a moot point. My purchases are filled with items that were to serve a specific need or want.
I usually identified this need and began the evaluative process. This process can be easily influenced through a multitude of different situational characteristics
that are both intended and unintended. There are characteristics that the store or organization will try to put out and the portion that comes from product and
consumer habits. I think for me as I look at the products I buy and the places I go

Socrates s Philosophy On Moral Life
Socrates makes a profound impact in our minds through his wisdom, his power of critical thinking, moral strength and intelligence. In the end it is Plato who
immortalizes Socrates in the popular imagination as a man of profound knowledge. Socrates effectiveness as a philosopher depended as much on the strength
and interest of his personality as on the power of his mind. Socrates philosophy was based on discovering the truth, understanding moral life and talking about
the elements that make up a good life. In my judgment, one of the most important things about Socrates quest was, indeed, the persistent habit and practice of
being critical and thoughtful, not being truly blind to one s own groundless convictions and assumptions. Contemplation and critical self awareness as a way of
worthy life is what Socrates stands for. So, therefore, he adopted questioning people about their knowledge as the foremost maxim for his life, and that is why
he ultimately believed that the unexamined life is not worth living. Real life, according to Socrates, is not something that is just to be lived, lived by adapting
blindly and head strong primal instincts, popular convictions, or time long honored customs. The good life is a life that questions and thinks about things, it is a
life of observation, contemplation, self examination, and open minded wondering. The good life is a kind of life that should be devoid of all types of injustice
and corruption. Socrates ultimately believes that,

The Benefits Of Attending College After High School
College After High School Every young adult knows the importance of getting an education. The future holds many opportunities, including a job that one can
excel in and enjoy. Some people think that those who go to school waste their life on furthering their education, but who have longer lasting jobs and a bigger
paycheck? According to The College Board Organization, going to college will let you explore various jobs and help find the career path that fits you (College:
What It s About). College gives someone the chance to be more independent and social. College sets a realistic plan for goals, making dreams more achievable
and attainable (Beckstead). Attending college after high school expands your knowledge, helps the transition to adulthood, and prepares you for the future.
Trying to stay motivated and on track after high school is hard. But going to college, keeps you on track and gives a reason to apply yourself. People who get a
college degree are more productive to society (Is College Worth It?). More than half of college graduates donate blood compared to high school graduates (Is
College Worth It?). Bureau Labor of Statistics found that 43% of the 2008 2009 college graduates volunteered. While only 19% of high school graduates
volunteered (Is College Worth It?). Also some college graduates specialize in certain fields which are necessary for society. For example, the medical field
provides us with services like doctors and dentists. People without a college

The Inequality Of The Prison Population Essay
All of the articles that are discussed throughout this essay stated very similar observations when it came to the demographics of the prison population. They
stated that the people who are mostly incarcerated are people of color, predominantly African American and then Hispanic men. Jennifer Wynn stated that
when she visited Rikers Island and was waiting in the waiting room, she was the only white person there (Wynn, 2012). She later found that ninety percent of
the inmates were black or Hispanic (Wynn, 2012) and that ninety three percent were male (Wynn, 2012). Although not as large as black men, there has also
been an increase of minority women imprisonment. This racial disproportion was not always this way. During World War II, whites consisted of seventy
percent of inmates and only thirty percent were identified as others (Martense, 2012). This has been reversed now being that seventy percent of the prison
population are black and Hispanic and thirty percent being white (Martensen, 2012). According to Martensen, the reason for this is due to the War on Drugs
which indirectly targets racial minorities. When it was implemented, there was not a drug crisis, however, drug offenses has lead to a major increase in the
federal inmate population and state prisoners between 1985 and 2000 (Martensen, 2012). Most of these people come from disadvantaged communities with a
lack of opportunities which can lead to criminal behaviors. People who have more power are in the

Analysis Of Invisible Man
To be exiled means to be kept from one s native space or country. In the book, Invisible Man, The nameless narrator started off bound for greatness and then as
the novel continued he to be challenged with obstacles as he discovered his true self. Through these obstacles he was pushed farther and farther away from the
places he learned to call home and had to forget everything he knew to survive. As a young black men the narrator stayed very true to who he was and wished
to be a very successful scholar. He got a scholarship for an African American college and was lucky enough to be able to go; however, halfway through his
schooling due to power hungry and egotistical Dr. Bledsoe, the narrator was expelled because he showed one of the school founders around dirtier parts of
town. This college was a place the narrator considered home and was exiled from it leaving him with only 50 dollars and envelopes filled with false hope.
It is very easy to be taken over by fear and hopelessness when you are thrown from somewhere you have spent the most recent parts of your life to a
completely different area where you know nothing and no one. Instead of holing up and showing his fear the narrator showed up to Harlem with a positive
mindset and portrayed himself as a man who knew what he planned on doing with his life when he got there; however, he was just clinging to letter which held
nothing but lies. He used his expulsion to enter a new place as a very sophisticated young man and

How Did The Mayans Build Number System
Next to speaking, counting is the greatest achievement created by man. The question of who is responsible for creating counting and numbers is still unknown
today. Historians and researchers have difficulty pinpointing who should be credited for the creation. Professor Jean de Heinzelin discovered the earliest proof
of counting in the 1950s. During his excavation in a village called Ishango, located in the Congo, he discovered a bone with lines and patterns carved into it.
Researchers dubbed the finding the Ishango Bone. An article by D. Huylebrouck says that the bone is about 11,000 years old and was possibly used as a sort of
calendar (Huylebrouck). Unfortunately, not much else is known about it, but historians know much more about later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Indian scholars created the Hindu Arabic system around 800 B.C (Carasco). This system grouped by ten using numbers 0 9. It also used place value. For
example in the number 2345, the 2 is in the thousands place, the 3 is in the hundreds place, the 4 is in the hundreds place, while the 5 is in the units place. One
must read from right to left, to say the word aloud. This is what is currently used universally. Unlike the other systems previously discussed, this one uses a
base 10. Many question as to why this system uses a base 10. The answer is simply the fact the humans only have ten fingers to count with, which makes it
easy to count and keep track of. Some also wonder how this numeration system was able to reach so many countries. As one will see the spreading of the
system was like a domino effect. The Handy Math Answer Book explains that the Arabs were among the first to adopt this counting arrangement from the
Indians. India was able to pass on this counting system through the trade routes of Northern Africa, which caught the attention of Arabs inhabiting this area (
(Barnes Svarney and Svarney ). Mathematicians, who learned about this new number system from the Arabs, began publish books that wrote about this easy to
use system. The final turning point occurred during the 16th century. Europeans merchants began to use and spread this counting system during their trade
transactions. Soon other countries

Andrew Barton Banjo Paterson (17 February 1864 5 February 1941) was an Australian bush poet, journalist and author. He wrote many ballads and poems
about Australian life, focusing particularly on the rural and outback areas, including the district around Bin along, New South Wales, where he spent much of
his childhood. Banjo Paterson s, We re all Australians now was published in 1915. His largely optimistic and patriotic poem inspires readers of the Australian

This change of pronouns gives a sense of the other , a separate entity. Through this otherness, he betrays a feeling of superiority. His sometime overuse of
victorious terminology shows complete silencing of the actual circumstances of the war, which then sounds slightly superficial, therefore betraying superiority.
Paterson s other purpose of this text is to promote nationalism amongst Australian men, persuading them to enlist. He deliberately emphasises on how
everyone in Australia is an Australian, through this line English, Scotch, and Irish bred, They re all Australians now! This would make everyone at the time
feel obliged to join.
His victorious tone also conveys also conveys the glory and honour that accompanies being a soldier. The actual hardships of the war which would dissuade
enlisting if mentioned, is deliberately silenced by Paterson.
The careful choices of literary devices Paterson had successfully conveyed his underlying purpose to the reader. This text also paints a picture of the mood of
one of the facets of Australians in the war which is the main focus of this poem.

Cultural Differences In The North And South Korea
The North Korea is dramatically different compared to the South Korea. Unlike China, which is rapidly developing its economy and diverging from the self
contained world, until this day North Korea still remains undeveloped. Many of those who are not familiar with the affairs in the South and North Koreas
might not understand why both regions, which are so close to one another, differs so much in terms of lifestyle, economic, and social developments. They were
unified for centuries under the Joseon Dynasty (1392 1910), and share the same language and essential culture. Yet for the last six decades and North and
South Korea have been divided along a fortified DMZ(Szczepanski). It has been almost 70 years since both countries lived separates lives. North Korea is like
a hermit isolating its self from the rest of the world while south Korea has flourished overtime. South Korea is said to have turned into the Hollywood of the
east, churning out entertainment that is coveted by millions of fans stretching from japan to Indonesia (Schmitt). There are about 400 independent studios
producing content for the entertainment market(Schmitt). As for north Korea there is nothing much to be said. The only thing the people are legally allowed to
watch are propaganda made by the government, although outsiders do smuggle thumb drive into the country with movies and tv shows for people to watch, but
they have to watch it secretly. If they are caught they will either be executed or locked up and may never be let out. In my opinion I believe that the north
Korean regime is afraid that foreign culture will bring doubt to the society therefore leading to the point where the people and questioning the government.
Life in north Korea is very much different from the south. In North Korea the government decided where you work at, how you dress, what you wear while in
south you see people dressing how they wanted, no one is being arrested for what they dressed like, you decided your own future. For example, I had a friend
from Pakistan she told me that when she was re united with her family after a longtime of separation ... she took them out to eat and she ordered a salad and
told the waitress what she didn t want on it

  • 2. The Game Of Football Is An Opportunity For Young Athletes A Game to Remember For many young athletes all over America football is an opportunity for them to make new friends. I started playing the game my sophomore year of high school in a medium sized Missouri town. This sport help me develop skills to create special bonds with new people. In one of our games against Webb City I learned that hard work and dedication really pays off, on and off the field, and I plan to use these skills throughout the rest of my life. Players may get beat up and exhausted but they have to stay positive and mentally tough throughout every game. Learning that the game of football is similar to living a successful life, I am going to be applying these lesson from football to my future as a human being. Practices all started at 6:45am each day in the middle of May, a week after school got out. All the football players had to meet up in the weight room of the high school to begin our summer workouts. We worked on strength, coronation, and conditioning. Everyone dreaded Wednesdays our sprint days, and as each week passed the amount we had to sprint increased by 400 yards. This requirement has taught me that physical potential requires mental toughness to become successful. I remember hearing multiple teammates grunting and moaning, saying I can t run anymore or I m about to throw up, as they dropped to their knees. As we kept doing sprints my legs were beginning to shake and ache. I could tell I was slowly giving up and slowing down. That s when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Did Joseph Haydn Develop Joseph Haydn (1732 1809) is recognized as one of the most famous composers of the Classical Era due to his contributions to the classical style. Not only is Haydn recognized today as a brilliant composer, but he was also popular during his time due to his originality and new ideas in music. Some of his new ideas include generating the basic development of formal structure in various styles of music and creating his own musical characteristics that deviate from the standards of his time. His individuality is demonstrated through his numerous symphonies, string quartets, piano trios, piano sonatas, masses, and operas specifically the works that were composed while he was at the Esterhazy palace. Haydn s success and originality is attributed to the time he spent working for the Esterhazy family while developing his unique style of composing. The time Haydn spent at the Esterhazy Palace contributed greatly to his musical success and individuality through his relationship with the family, isolation from other musicians, and the support he received both inside and outside of the palace. Within Haydn s first years with the Esterhazy family, he had gained great respect for his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As stated in Haydn: A Creative Life in Music published by Geiringer (1963), Haydn also wanted to continue to impress the prince with his musical skills, so [he] began secretly to practice playing the baryton , but realized that his patron wanted him to only compose for the baryton, not play it. The baryton is a very difficult instrument to play, and Haydn was writing for his employer to excel on his instrument. Haydn was also one of the highest paid workers in the court, which shows how much Prince Nikolaus valued Haydn s work and efforts towards the music of the palace (Landon Jones, ... • 4. Kennedy Won The Democratic Convention Democratic Presidential Nomination On April 30 1960, James Rowe, a Washington Lawyer, gave $10,000 the campaign of Hubert H. Humphrey (Peters, P. 62). Rowe funded Humphrey s campaign in hopes that Humphrey would defeat John F. Kennedy. Moreover, Rowe thought that this would lead to Johnson s path of the presidency (Peters, P. 62) However; it was too late because Kennedy was dominating the presidential nominations. Instead, Johnson was relying on his running mate Humphrey to win the Democratic Convention. Ultimately, Johnson hoped that Humphrey would choose him to be his vice president if Humphrey won the Democratic Convention. Johnson believed that he was an excellent candidate because of his impressive record as Senate majority leader and his friendship with powerful Democratic senators (Peters, P. 62). However, Johnson s strategy was a failure because Humphrey lost to a landslide to Kennedy on May 9, 1960 (Bornet, P. 63) Ultimately, Kennedy nearly received majority of the votes. Moreover, Kennedy won the Democratic Convention nomination with 806 votes to 409 (Bornet, P. 64). Kennedy also offered Johnson the vice presidential nomination in the 1960 nomination. Lastly, Kennedy offered Johnson the vice president nomination because Kennedy knew that Johnson had a lot of connections in Washington that could lead to his win in the 1960 presidential election. For instance, Johnson used his personal connections to help Kennedy win the electoral vote from states that Kennedy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Analysis Of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas... Rachel Hutter: Engineer, Imagineer, and Mother If you could have dinner with any person, living or dead, who would it be and why? This question is most commonly asked at an event filled with a large group of strangers, as an icebreaker. Many would typically answer, George Washington, Ben Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and maybe if someone wants variety they could say someone like Marie Curie. All of these answers are superficial and simply the first historical person that someone could think of. In fact, I know I would have answered with George Washington. He was the first one to my mind, but why? Do I really want to have dinner with George Washington? What would I even talk to him about? I imagine the conversation would go something like this, Me: So uhm, I just wanted to thank you for crossing the Delaware River and stuff, that was pretty amazing and really impacted the rest of our country and our freedoms, thank you. George: Yeah happy to, I m glad I did that too. *Proceed to eat lunch quietly because I don t have questions nor really care. I could just read a history book and know the information I would ask from him. So when I was asked, what engineer would I want to have dinner with? it made me really hesitate and actually think for a minute. To then specify further and be asked what women engineer I would want dinner with made me really self reflect. What questions would I want to ask another female engineer? What are my final goals? What makes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Dark Matter and Dark Energy Dark matter and dark energy are two entities that have very little known about them, except that they make up about 95 percent of the universe. Even though this is a large part of the universe, it wasn t even thought about until the 1960 s or the 1970 s. This is because of the fact that it is very hard to detect and almost impossible to see. Although it is impossible to see, we can see the effects of them both in our galaxy. One way that we can see the dark matter is the movement of the Milky Way Galaxy. While studying the Milky Way, scientists noticed that the outer rings of the galaxy were moving at the same speed as the inner rings ( Dark Energy, Dark Matter , n.d.) . This may seem normal, but, due to the law of gravity, the outer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... MACHO s may be neutron stars, black holes, or brown dwarfs. The reason why they think that MACHO s may be dark matter is because neutron stars and black holes are big enough to cause the gravitational changes, but the downside to these theories is that, both neutron stars and black holes are caused because of supernovae, which are not common occurrences, and they should put off high amounts of energy and elements, but there aren t any signs of these things in sufficient amounts in the halos of galaxies. but it could also be the MACHO brown dwarf, which are stars that are one eighth of the mass of the sun. Astronomers have found brown dwarfs around other stars and planets, but there isn t any evidence of large enough clusters to cause the gravitational changes caused by dark matter. Dark matter could also be WIMP s, which are subatomic particles that aren t made out of regular matter. These could be neutralinos, axions, and neutrinos. Neutrinos were originally thought to not have mass, but in 1998, a neutrino was found that has mass, but it doesn t have enough mass to contribute to dark matter. Axions may have small amounts of mass, but it is stated that there would be large amounts of it that were made by the big bang. They are now searching for axion particles in our solar system s halo and in the sun. Neutralinos are particles that are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Art to me is an escape and simply to put it in terms is my way of life. It s not just my hobby, interest, or talent it is so much more to me. When I decide to create something it comes from an inspiration that overcomes me. I have many ranges of art that I do such as, painting in oil, acrylic, or watercolor. Several of my pieces of art is from graphite pencil. Most of my topics are of people or well at least the faces of the people. I mainly draw what I like to but sometimes I will take request from people and draw them what they want. The reason that I tend to draw faces more than anything else is because I like to express my feelings through the facial expressions of the ones I draw. Creating art gives me a fulfillment, one that makes me feel like I ve done something good. I don t just do it because it makes me feel good but because I enjoy it. The Role Of Christ s Church The role of Christ s church as it relates to evangelism, institutional change, and its ministry to the general laity, is a continuously growing dynamic that demands resources from church, while expanding the opportunity to grow the church which inevitably impacts the culture of the secular institutions from which most of its laity are employed. I believe that the understanding and revelation of God s word is all encompassing; so that in every season of our maturity in Christ, we can visit upon a word, a precept, with a fresh understanding and a new perspective that does not violate the integrity of it meaning and/or alter our doctrinal understanding. I believe that the role of evangelism is a prime example of how God has not only used the ministry of the gospel for the call to salvation, but also how he builds the body, institutionalizes the body, equips the body, empowers the body then dispatches the body back into the world from which it was called (Matthew 5:14). It is very difficult to dissect the anatomy of the body into its heterogeneous functions, then focus on one of them, when you know that the body of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit is really a single organism (1 Corinthians 12:12 ), with a single purpose, The Kingdom of God. However, it is one of the prime functions of the body to evangelize, which is the bringing of the good news, and the message of hope, that Gods people will become alive in him. A lot of these have been over the same reason over and over again, some serve their own purpose, and others have even been purposeless. Even though they may not serve a purpose there must have been a reason for their upbringing. Whether that upbringing took months, years, or even decades, it doesn t really matter because it all can all be studied and analyzed one way or another just to see if there was anything was gained from it. The reasons that the US was constrained did not result from anarchy. Rather, it resulted from a changing international structure that affected the identity and interest of the US. This conflict began in a time of great upheaval in the world of international relations. The USSR had collapsed a mere two years prior to North Korea announcing that it would withdraw from the NPT. This created a sudden gap in what had been driving American foreign policy up until that point. Prior to the Soviet collapse, the US policy was simple. I viewed this module as the mechanics and technicality based conceptual understanding of consumer behavior. We recognize that consumer behavior isn t just static, but is much more in tune with the complexity that is the Human mind. This module to me represented the consumer coming to the final stage of the consumption process and becoming aware that a final decision is eminent. When I look back at my purchases I think how much went into buying an item or service and actually getting to that point where I have made that final purchase. It s interesting the one thing that spurs my whole consumption process is when I have told myself that I really want something, I need something, or I have to have something. This self awareness is what even allows the consumer to know what specifically they want to purchase. If we don t have this identifying behavior then product selection ends up being a moot point. My purchases are filled with items that were to serve a specific need or want. I usually identified this need and began the evaluative process. This process can be easily influenced through a multitude of different situational characteristics that are both intended and unintended. There are characteristics that the store or organization will try to put out and the portion that comes from product and consumer habits. I think for me as I look at the products I buy and the places I go ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Socrates s Philosophy On Moral Life Socrates makes a profound impact in our minds through his wisdom, his power of critical thinking, moral strength and intelligence. In the end it is Plato who immortalizes Socrates in the popular imagination as a man of profound knowledge. Socrates effectiveness as a philosopher depended as much on the strength and interest of his personality as on the power of his mind. Socrates philosophy was based on discovering the truth, understanding moral life and talking about the elements that make up a good life. In my judgment, one of the most important things about Socrates quest was, indeed, the persistent habit and practice of being critical and thoughtful, not being truly blind to one s own groundless convictions and assumptions. Contemplation and critical self awareness as a way of worthy life is what Socrates stands for. So, therefore, he adopted questioning people about their knowledge as the foremost maxim for his life, and that is why he ultimately believed that the unexamined life is not worth living. Real life, according to Socrates, is not something that is just to be lived, lived by adapting blindly and head strong primal instincts, popular convictions, or time long honored customs. The good life is a life that questions and thinks about things, it is a life of observation, contemplation, self examination, and open minded wondering. The good life is a kind of life that should be devoid of all types of injustice and corruption. Socrates ultimately believes that, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Inequality Of The Prison Population Essay All of the articles that are discussed throughout this essay stated very similar observations when it came to the demographics of the prison population. They stated that the people who are mostly incarcerated are people of color, predominantly African American and then Hispanic men. Jennifer Wynn stated that when she visited Rikers Island and was waiting in the waiting room, she was the only white person there (Wynn, 2012). She later found that ninety percent of the inmates were black or Hispanic (Wynn, 2012) and that ninety three percent were male (Wynn, 2012). Although not as large as black men, there has also been an increase of minority women imprisonment. This racial disproportion was not always this way. During World War II, whites consisted of seventy percent of inmates and only thirty percent were identified as others (Martense, 2012). This has been reversed now being that seventy percent of the prison population are black and Hispanic and thirty percent being white (Martensen, 2012). According to Martensen, the reason for this is due to the War on Drugs which indirectly targets racial minorities. When it was implemented, there was not a drug crisis, however, drug offenses has lead to a major increase in the federal inmate population and state prisoners between 1985 and 2000 (Martensen, 2012). Most of these people come from disadvantaged communities with a lack of opportunities which can lead to criminal behaviors. People who have more power are in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Analysis Of Invisible Man To be exiled means to be kept from one s native space or country. In the book, Invisible Man, The nameless narrator started off bound for greatness and then as the novel continued he to be challenged with obstacles as he discovered his true self. Through these obstacles he was pushed farther and farther away from the places he learned to call home and had to forget everything he knew to survive. As a young black men the narrator stayed very true to who he was and wished to be a very successful scholar. He got a scholarship for an African American college and was lucky enough to be able to go; however, halfway through his schooling due to power hungry and egotistical Dr. Bledsoe, the narrator was expelled because he showed one of the school founders around dirtier parts of town. This college was a place the narrator considered home and was exiled from it leaving him with only 50 dollars and envelopes filled with false hope. It is very easy to be taken over by fear and hopelessness when you are thrown from somewhere you have spent the most recent parts of your life to a completely different area where you know nothing and no one. Instead of holing up and showing his fear the narrator showed up to Harlem with a positive mindset and portrayed himself as a man who knew what he planned on doing with his life when he got there; however, he was just clinging to letter which held nothing but lies. He used his expulsion to enter a new place as a very sophisticated young man and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. How Did The Mayans Build Number System Next to speaking, counting is the greatest achievement created by man. The question of who is responsible for creating counting and numbers is still unknown today. Historians and researchers have difficulty pinpointing who should be credited for the creation. Professor Jean de Heinzelin discovered the earliest proof of counting in the 1950s. During his excavation in a village called Ishango, located in the Congo, he discovered a bone with lines and patterns carved into it. Researchers dubbed the finding the Ishango Bone. An article by D. Huylebrouck says that the bone is about 11,000 years old and was possibly used as a sort of calendar (Huylebrouck). Indian scholars created the Hindu Arabic system around 800 B.C (Carasco). This system grouped by ten using numbers 0 9. It also used place value. For example in the number 2345, the 2 is in the thousands place, the 3 is in the hundreds place, the 4 is in the hundreds place, while the 5 is in the units place. One must read from right to left, to say the word aloud. This is what is currently used universally. Unlike the other systems previously discussed, this one uses a base 10. Many question as to why this system uses a base 10. The answer is simply the fact the humans only have ten fingers to count with, which makes it easy to count and keep track of. Some also wonder how this numeration system was able to reach so many countries. As one will see the spreading of the system was like a domino effect. The Handy Math Answer Book explains that the Arabs were among the first to adopt this counting arrangement from the Indians. India was able to pass on this counting system through the trade routes of Northern Africa, which caught the attention of Arabs inhabiting this area ( (Barnes Svarney and Svarney ). Mathematicians, who learned about this new number system from the Arabs, began publish books that wrote about this easy to use system. The final turning point occurred during the 16th century. Europeans merchants began to use and spread this counting system during their trade transactions. Soon other countries ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This change of pronouns gives a sense of the other , a separate entity. Through this otherness, he betrays a feeling of superiority. His sometime overuse of victorious terminology shows complete silencing of the actual circumstances of the war, which then sounds slightly superficial, therefore betraying superiority. Paterson s other purpose of this text is to promote nationalism amongst Australian men, persuading them to enlist. He deliberately emphasises on how everyone in Australia is an Australian, through this line English, Scotch, and Irish bred, They re all Australians now! This would make everyone at the time feel obliged to join. His victorious tone also conveys also conveys the glory and honour that accompanies being a soldier. The actual hardships of the war which would dissuade enlisting if mentioned, is deliberately silenced by Paterson. The careful choices of literary devices Paterson had successfully conveyed his underlying purpose to the reader. • 40. Cultural Differences In The North And South Korea The North Korea is dramatically different compared to the South Korea. Unlike China, which is rapidly developing its economy and diverging from the self contained world, until this day North Korea still remains undeveloped. Many of those who are not familiar with the affairs in the South and North Koreas might not understand why both regions, which are so close to one another, differs so much in terms of lifestyle, economic, and social developments. They were unified for centuries under the Joseon Dynasty (1392 1910), and share the same language and essential culture. Yet for the last six decades and North and South Korea have been divided along a fortified DMZ(Szczepanski). It has been almost 70 years since both countries lived separates lives. North Korea is like a hermit isolating its self from the rest of the world while south Korea has flourished overtime. South Korea is said to have turned into the Hollywood of the east, churning out entertainment that is coveted by millions of fans stretching from japan to Indonesia (Schmitt). There are about 400 independent studios producing content for the entertainment market(Schmitt). As for north Korea there is nothing much to be said. The only thing the people are legally allowed to watch are propaganda made by the government, although outsiders do smuggle thumb drive into the country with movies and tv shows for people to watch, but they have to watch it secretly. If they are caught they will either be executed or locked up and may never be let out. In my opinion I believe that the north Korean regime is afraid that foreign culture will bring doubt to the society therefore leading to the point where the people and questioning the government. Life in north Korea is very much different from the south. In North Korea the government decided where you work at, how you dress, what you wear while in south you see people dressing how they wanted, no one is being arrested for what they dressed like, you decided your own future.
