Kurt Donald Cobain Essay examples
Kurt Donald Cobain
The subject of this writing, is on a man who changed music; a man on the level of Jimi Hendrix, Janis
Joplin, and Jim Morrison. This individual is Kurt Donald Cobain from the revolutionary grunge/rock
band, Nirvana. While some people would never consider Cobain to hold a major role in the shaping of
our music and culture today, they haven t taken the time to look around. Many people overlook the
fact that music played a huge role in the lives of Americans during the 90 s. Someday history books
will probably even make note of the influence this rocker had on the decade.
Kurt Cobain was born February 20, 1967 in a small town near Seattle, Washington. His family soon
after moved to Aberdeen, Washington. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two jumped in and out of bands and eventually went on to form Nirvana. Even before Kurt found
Krist, he tried out for the band The Melvins, but was unsuccessful. Interestingly enough, The Melvins
were a big inspiration to all members of the later formed Nirvana. (Kurt Cobain Page)
Nirvana was first created in 1986, but didn t reach its final form until 1988. They went through a
variety of drummers until they stumbled upon Dave Grohl, an Ohio native. They played the local
scene until 1989 when they were able to record their first CD, Bleach on the tiny Sub Pop Records.
The real flood and change of music came when they released the 1991 smash success Nevermind on
Geffen Records. With the powerful opening song/single Smells Like Teen Spirit Nirvana and Kurt
were able to take the nation by storm. (The Kurt Cobain Memorial)
The energy and rebellion caught everyone s attention and has since sold over 10 million copies
making it one of the most successful albums ever. The album made the band instant millionaires. The
public frenzy and grueling tours that ensued led to extreme troubles for Kurt. He soon became very
involved in heroin use to battle the tension and physical problems caused by it. The pressure did
benefit him in the fact that it helped him to craft ideas for new music. One event that added greatly to
the stress on him involved his song Polly. The song was supposed to be a very powerful anti rape
song, but

How Are Brahman And God Similar In Western Religions
Journal Reflection 1
Madison Dever
How are Brahman and God similar in Western Religions? How are they different? Why? Brahman and
God have many similarities and differences. Brahman is the ultimate, infinite Godhead of Hinduism
while God is the head of many different Western Religions such as Christianity. Both are infinite and
limitless. They are also very different, Brahman is a human being divine self , which remains
formless, while Christianity s God is the creator of human beings who are devotees who follow God.
This infinite center of every life, this hidden self or Atman, is no less than Brahman, the Godhead.
Body, personality, and Atman Brahman a human self is not completely accounted for until all three are
noted. (Smith 21) Both Brahman and God have infinite power. Brahman is the human self but has a
being that never dies and is unrestricted. The ultimate goal in Hinduism is to achieve this realization
of one self to earn liberation (moksha). In Christianity, God is seen as an ... Show more content on

He came to identify himself with the sorrows of the world, however impure and murderous they might
be, until his heart was scored with scars. But he knew that he must love God in all sorts and conditions
of men, however antagonistic and hostile, and in all forms of thought controlling their existence and
often setting them at variance to one another. Both religions God, is seen as omnipotent. The devotee
must love that God no matter what, even if He does not make everyone obey willing to be kind. Death
and destruction still happens even though a Supreme Being is present . That is another difference
between Brahman and God. Brahman doesn t have an active role in maintaining the world. Christians
see God has more of a duty to protect the world. I feel as though Brahman is present but expects the

Health Care Cost Benefit Analysis
Federal health care costs continue to exceed the American economy fueled by federal health care law,
rising enrollments, and increased enrollee spending. The 2010 Affordable Care Act (ACA)
significantly changed federal health care policies in the key areas of insurance coverage, access to
care, medical care financing, and Medicare program operations. ACA provides good benefits to
Americans but comes with a 12.2% increase in cost to the federal government (Meyer, 2017). Health
care costs are projected to increase to more than $4 trillion dollars by the end of 2017 nearly doubling
since 2006 (Meyer, 2017). Economists project this trend to continue estimating a 6.9% increase
annually making it the single highest cost to the federal government (Edwards, 2017). The cost of
health care is approaching a crisis if unchecked will continue to grow. Congress has struggled to reach
consensus on a more efficient approach to managing health cares costs failing in 2017 to repeal or
replace ACA. They will need to reengage now to enact laws to stabilize this looming threat to the
American people. I recommend three changes to reduce the impact to federal debt. These changes are

Drug coverage is also a significant cost to both Medicaid and Medicare. This recommendation reduces
costs specifically in Medicaid and Medicate Part D (Federal Deficit fit with Health Care, 2017. The
prescription drug benefit, known as Part D, subsidizes drug cost and has had an estimated 13%
increase in premiums since 2016. These rising costs must be mitigated and requiring drug
manufacturers to pay the same rebate currently paid to Medicaid and Medicare is the first step.
Rebates are paid quarterly to the states and shared with the federal government to offset the overall
cost. Implementing this recommendation is estimated to reduce federal government costs by $220

Historical Precedents For The Rise Of Rock N Roll
Covers versions are credited to be one of the most important precedents for the rise of rock n roll. This
commercial and musical phenomenon is the use of a previously recorded song that is either remade or
reinterpreted by another group or artist. There is an argument that cover versions are employed by
bands and artists in order to cash in on the success that the original version provided the original artist.
However, as in all debates, there is a side that argues that cover versions reinterpret or reimage the
original song and change the experience and the meaning of the song based on how the artist or group
reinterprets or reimages it. In the following singles, California Dreamin , I Will Always Love You, and
She s Like the Wind there are examples of the latter argument of artists reinterpreting or reimaging the
original singles in their covers. Starting in California, where dreamin is a way to contemplate the
meaning of one s life. At least that is the Mamas and Papas original version of California Dreamin.
The Mamas and Papas were a group situated in Los Angles and the Southern California pop scene and
what made them emerge out among other pop or folk groups was the mixture of male and female
voices. California Dreamin, recorded by The Mamas and Papas in 1965, is credited to be an anthem of
those heady times of the 1960s. Although the single never reached the number one spot on the charts,
the single remained on the charts for 17

IIi.features Of A Smart Grid
III .FEATURES OF A SMART GRID
Reliability
The smart grid uses technology to self locate faults so their rectification is fast and sound. This self
healing property of smart grid makes it more reliable than the conventional grid. Main technology
used here is state estimation. Multiple routes are used in a smart grid which were used in the old grid
as well. But mostly they were radial in nature so that any failure can cause total failure of the system
and the current would be shunted to other elements.
Flexibility in network topology
Next generation grid technology would be far more flexible in transferring two way energy by
allowing for distributed generation from solar cells, fuel cells , electric vehicles, wind turbines .
Classic one way distribution is not that flexible to cater to problems when load is higher than the
generating end . By using smarter grid this is possible.
Efficiency
Numerous contributions to overall improvement of the efficiency of energy infrastructure are
anticipated from the deployment of smart grid technology, in particular including demand side
management, for example turning off air conditioners during short term spikes in electricity price,
reducing the voltage when possible on distribution lines through Voltage/VAR Optimization (VVO),
eliminating truck rolls for meter reading, and reducing truck rolls by improved outage management
using data from Advanced Metering Infrastructure systems. The overall effect is less redundancy in
transmission

for WOMEN and MEN provided below, explain which group has a comparative advantage over which
type of Goods. Men earn and continue to earn higher incomes than women and thus have a
comparative advantage over women. Women have a comparative advantage over men on Childcare
and can be justified by their specialization in household chores. Not only does the scientific reasoning
reinforce this sexual division of labor, women s low wages and the assumed comparative advantage in
child care is used to privilege their contribution to human capital. (Himmelweit, Simonetti, Trigg,

Children are an important source of enjoyment for both groups and make a couple specialize during a
relationship and thus prevent each group from overcharging. (Parkman, 2000) What are some of the
barriers to trade that might keep the two groups apart even if there are mutually beneficial gains from

De-Extinction Cloning
Should Research on De extinction and Cloning be continued?
Have you ever imagined how it would feel when extinct species, like woolly mammoths and
passenger pigeons, are brought back to the Earth? How would it be like to revive long dead species?
Obviously, many would imagine it to be amusing and fascinating. There are numerous discussions
ongoing that address the prospect as well as the impacts of de extinction and cloning. I believe that de
extinction and cloning, though seem fascinating at first, are not really worth millions of dollars and
hundreds of hours being spent for them. First, we should be protecting the endangered species so that
they do not get extinct, rather than reviving those that are already extinct. Second, there are numerous
problems with de extinction like tiny market, ethical issues, and some more technical such as the
complexity of resurrecting extinct genes, and then interspecies cloning. Moreover, we have heard
about several scandals and cases of misusing genetic technology and cloning, due to which it has been
a topic of constant public debate. As the saying goes prevention is better than cure , instead of
spending limited resources for the research on reviving a few species wiped away by humans,
conservationists should focus on preserving the endangered ones.
To begin with, spending limited resources just to resurrect a few species does not seem wise to me.
Research projects like de extinction require a huge amount of funding, and if we

Week 5 Reflection Essays
Week Five Reflection ACC/421 Week Five Reflection The concept of time value of money is
accounting is the relationship between time and money (Kieso, Wygandt, amp; Warfield, 2007). The
common expression is that money today is worth more than the assurance of money received
tomorrow. The reason for this saying is the investment opportunities and borrowing options.
Understanding how to compare present and future values of money and learning how to use the
different time values of money is important in accounting and the different users of accounting.
Importance of Time Values of Money There is a big importance when it concerns the time values of
money because the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A company can use the present value concept to determine the value of a property today that is
expected to earn the minimum of the projected future cash flow or the amount of money that needs to
be invested today to reach a desired future sum. Investors who are interested in acquiring businesses
would use the present value of money concept. Probably the main example of how the present value
of money is applied in accounting is: a company wants to accumulate $100,000 in five years and they
know there is an 8% interest that is compounded annually. A company would take that information
and the present value of money concept to determine the amount of money they need to invest today.
Applications of Future Values of Money Computing the future value of money allows accountants to
calculate compound interest. The future value of money is used to determine the rate of return at a
specific time at a particular interest rate. Companies use it to make financial decisions involving
money held for deposit, comparing interest applied to loans or receivables, or investments.
Accountants can calculate future values using a single sum today or with periodic payment. Examples
of periodic payments include rents or any payment that requires constant payments generally of the
same amount. Accountants can also use future value to determine the amount of money, interest, and
periodic payments required

Analysis Of Stephen Crane s A Girl Of The Streets
Stephen Crane has come to be considered the forerunner of western naturalism (Perosa 94). His works
portray the harshest of realities, from the crime and disease ridden streets brought to life in Maggie, to
his take on the atrocities of battle in The Red Badge of Courage. Crane pushed his strong messages of
environment being a determining element in life, and his belief that there are no heroes, only different
individuals in different situations. Crane himself was part of the 19th century movement for
naturalism in art, or the contemporary ideas of science and society, which rejected the idealization of
experience and adopted an objective and often uncompromisingly realistic (my italics) approach to art
(Oxford Dictionaries). In Maggie: A Girl of the Streets, Stephen Crane embarked upon his first
endeavor of writing a naturalistic novel. Rather than choosing to write a fiction about documented
events in the slums of New York, Crane crafted the depression of the bowery from his own mind,
based on his observations and understanding (Pizer 110). Maggie serves as an epitaph as Crane s first
novella in a long list of natural and realistic products. The reality of the world around each of the
characters is what makes Maggie a truly naturalistic story. The Johnsons Maggie s family live in an
impoverished apartment building with minimal essential items. Maggie s family is ravaged by a
drunkard mother and a violent brother. Her father and younger brother died

treatments only delay the end result of blindness. Surgery depends on the potential of vision.
Performing a delicate endolaser cyclophatocoagulation (ECPC) laser surgery may reduce the chances

Too Much Crying isn t a Good Thing
Crying is undoubtedly one of the most common humanistic features when it comes to the emotions of
the average person, due to the fact that every human being has shed tears for which ever reasons their
emotions led them to. However, crying can also be the result of many other issues and can indicate a
serious problem if done continuously and drastically to the point where it becomes a serious concern.
In adolescents, it is more normal to cry as the child may not understand or know what to do about a
situation, leaving them flustered, agitated, sad, angry, or any negative emotion causing them to cry.
With these things being said, when crying is understood to be the result of an underlying deep rooted
issue, the next step is to understand the enforcer that is keeping the behavior of crying continuous and
figure out exactly how to decrease it to the point of normality. Crying has also yet to be examined
systematically in isolation from other problem behavior, such as aggression or tantrums, during
functional analyses (Hanley, Iwata, McCord, 2003). Identification of variables that may maintain
crying is especially important for populations who are susceptible to psychiatric interventions (e.g.,
individuals who have intellectual disabilities and communication deficits). The current study extended
functional analysis methodology to crying with an adolescent boy who had been diagnosed with
intellectual disabilities. Results suggested that crying was maintained by caregiver

When you are ready to make your financial investments, you will need to study your finances to figure
out how much to invest which can be done by using a simplified Income Statement.
Your income statement will list all of your incomes, debts, and taxes so that you can properly assess
how much money you have for future investments (Brigham, 2007). It is critical to account for all of
your debts to get a legitimate view of your finances. For instance, do not forget to account for food,
gas, cell phone bill, entertainment, and other non fixed monthly bills. In order to create an investment
plan that you will stick to, you must include reasonable living expenses. If you do not include items
such as entertainment, then long term acceptance of your investment plan will be dubious at best.
Once you have a reasonable income statement created, you will need to figure out your Debt to
Income ratio. This is very easy to create with the information you have included in your income
statement: add your monthly income and payments and then divide your monthly income by your
monthly payments, if your ratio is above fifty percent, than you should work towards lowering your
debt with a goal of less than 25 percent (Brigham, 2007). The lower your debt ratio, the higher your
credit score will be which will allow you to be approved for loans with better interest rates. Knowing

Native American Sign Language Very basic, elementary and logical characteristics made the Native
American Sign Language the world s most easily learned language. It was America s first and only
universal language. The necessity for intercommunication between Indian tribes having different vocal
speech developed gesture speech or sign language (Clark; pg. 11). Although there is no record or era
dating the use of sign language, American Indian people have communicated with Indian Sign

Many Indians with college and university training can speak better English than they can sign talk.
Native American Sign Language was the first universal language produced by people. Every record of
the landing of Columbus on North American soil, tells of how he and his group communicated with
the Indians using sign language. The same is also true of other explorers that came to this country.
Lewis and Clark communicated successfully with the tribes of the west during their exploration
efforts. In the 17th century, the language of sign was so well understood throughout the western part
of the country that there was little difficulty in conversations being carried on between tribes, traders,
and mountain men. They could easily communicate with one another, even though neither understood
a word of the other s dialect at that time.
Basic Native American sign language is easy to learn; it is much easier to learn Indian signing than it
is to learn a spoken language. The combination of meaning and movement in signing, allows you to
learn the meaning of a gesture, while you visualize the movement. One important factor to remember
is that eighty five percent of the Native American Sign Language was done with the right hand; this
system kept the communication process very simple

which is priced at a competitive rate to attract lower and middle sized veterinarians. The production of

Hence, manufacturing department should not interfere in the distribution department, and the latter

Strategic Alternative 2 Backward Integration
Backward integration is a type of vertical integration in which a company takes control over its
suppliers. It is a form of acquisition of the intermediary players involved in supplying the raw
materials used in the production process of the firm. Raw materials, intermediate manufacturing and
assembly are controlled by the firm whereas distribution to the end customer is done by a third party
company. In this way, company increases production efficiency and gains a competitive advantage by
lowering its production cost.
Bergerac can opt for the buy option and implement its backward integration by acquiring GenieTech.
GenieTech can provide the company with eight efficient molding machines for the acquisition price of
$ 5.75 million. The price includes experienced labor force and management. Bergerac can fulfill its
chemical reagent demand by using 4 out of 8 moulds provided in the acquisition. Rest of the presses
can be used in the expansion process or can be used to meet the demand of a third party. This
investment can result in the reduction of overhead expenses by twenty six percent per unit. Bergerac
can pay the amount over a period of five years making the project

Army Hand Salute Research Paper
History
Have you ever wondered why we salute or where this gesture of respect came from?
To preserve history, senior leaders must uphold, teach, and pass down heritage and time honored
traditions because heritage and tradition is what has shaped us into the military force we are today.
This paper will cover the history of military salutes, its evolution, and the effects that it has on the
military today.
The military salute is a tradition that permeates within the military and dates many centuries. There
are two distinct salutes used by the military today. The hand salute and the gun salute.
The hand salute is a form of recognition and greeting between members in the armed services. There
seems to be no true origin of the hand salute and it leads to a lot of speculation of how this gesture of
trust and respect came about. Forms of the hand salute traces back to the Roman and Medieval Times.

Navy adopted the hand salute from the British Navy. The British Navy s earlier salutes involved
removing the headgear. When they started adding chinstraps to their headgear, it proved too difficult
to remove the headgear in each instance so they began just touching the hat with their right hand. This
gesture, officially modified in 1820, evolved into the hand salute we use today. Some may think that
hand salute is a sign of inferiority because juniors have to always salute seniors first but it is not.
Juniors salute first as a military courtesy towards seniors and it is always required to be returned. A

Filippo Brunelleschi Essay
Filippo Brunelleschi
Fillippo Brunelleschi is famous for such ideas and projects as the Cupola of the Duomo in Florence
and for the way he convoluted forms of classical architecture according to the new spirit of his age. In
the Florentine workshops he was trained as a sculptor and goldsmith and in 1401 he became well
known by winning a competition for the second door of Baptistery Ex Aequo with Lorenzo Ghiberti,
who was commissioned to carry out the work. The Bargello Museum holds the panels of the Sacrifice

E Commerce Security Threats And The Solutions Essay
During the early 1960 s, E Commerce businesses conducted electronic transactions via primitive
computer networks but the way these transactions were exchanged provided little to no
security(34).This made online transactions on WWW(World Wide Web), not reliable and unsecured
making consumers eager to not take the chance of risking their information, on an unprotected system.
During the early 1960 s came Electronic Data Interchange(EDI). EDI replaced traditional mailing and
faxing of documents with a digital transfer of data from one computer to another .(35)This was the
first step toward the E Commerce that is present today. Then the influential SSL protocol would come
to be which helped to improve the state of security on the WWW. This led to more protocols being
introduced, leading to other detrimental protocols such as (3D Secure, TLS, SET). These protocols,
that were just mentioned are still widely used today. This paper will go over the threats and the
solutions of E Commerce security. E Commerce security threats according to FindLaw UK, major
threats to E Commerce can be grouped into two categories, malicious and accidental threats .(34) The
first threat gone over will be malicious threats which include hackers attempting to penetrate a system
and steal sensitive data, burglars stealing a laptop that has sensitive data on it and impostors posing as
legitimate users and then copying website information .(34)Another major threat to E Commerce

The Importance Of Civil Rights
WEAR YOUR RIGHTS , is the title of an icon on the American Civil Liberties Union website where
with one click you can be redirected to the ACLU s store, to purchase any number of wearable items
to aid you in speaking out about your rights (ACLU 2017). In addition to the store the ACLU has a
whole page dedicated to knowing your rights and speaking out with the use of clothing and swag.
Fundamental to democracy in the United States is the continued protection of our civil liberties and
civil rights. Civil liberties concern basic rights and freedoms that are implicitly or explicitly stated
either in the Bill of Rights, Constitution or legislature. Civil rights refer to legal protections that guard
against unequal treatment based on race, gender, disability and it is under these protections everyone
should receive equal treatment under the law. Unfortunately, there are times when preservation of our
rights and liberties is threatened for a number of reasons sometimes even due to to national security or
patriotism. When it comes to wearing our rights the majority of examples that I could find involved
wearing an item of clothing with words on it, which is enacting our freedom of speech which is a civil
liberty covered under the first amendment. Usually when enacting this specific civil liberty we are
doing it with words that relate to some specific type of inequality or injustice based on the
infringement of our civil rights. Examples include race, gender or disability.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park
Carlsbad Caverns National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is located in the state of New

type, which was created by a reaction involving rainwater and hydrogen sulphide rich brine (salt
concentrated water). This created a corrosive sulphuric acid which carved the main chambers into
what they are today. The site has been elected and given UNESCO World Heritage status for two
reasons, or criteria. One of the reasons for the listing is its natural beauty, abundance and diversity of

was that the employees came off as arrogant and unapproachable. He then worked with employees to

Who will implement the promotional events on the floor while those in the office run the numbers?
Would it be good idea to allow the guest to run the promotions themselves without someone to enforce
set rules and regulations? This is only one case of how the employees deal with the ridiculous
reasoning when superiors offer suggestions without visiting the floor to witness the day to day action.
In this way, driving their employees to feel unwanted in their position and leaving the job. The
absence of support prompts disappointment both from an employment angle and feeling just as if the
employees do not make a difference and will never be represented (Bouckenooghe, 2013).
Motivational elements to consider while examining casino work fulfillment and retention incorporate
that of support for advancing education and even staff improvement. Lack in opportunity or even the
capacity to better improve skills and extent of training is a factor in work fulfillment (Moen, 2015).
Because overwhelming calendars the employees do not have any time to seek educational fulfillment

that they do not decide to quit.

The Truman Doctrine
At the present moment in world history nearly every nation must choose between alternative ways of
life. The choice is too often not a free one. One way of life is based upon the will of the majority, and
is distinguished by free institutions, representative government, free elections, and guarantees of
individual liberty, freedom of speech and religion, and freedom from political oppression. The second
way of life is based upon the will of a minority forcibly imposed upon the majority. It relies upon
terror and oppression, a controlled press and radio, fixed elections, and the suppression of personal
freedoms. I believe that it must be the policy of the United States to support free peoples who are
resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures. I believe that we must
assist free peoples to work out their own destinies in their own way. I believe that our help should be
primarily through economic stability and orderly political process.
President Harry S. Truman, March 12, 1947
After this policy United States of America started to apply three main missions. These missions are;
1) Try to provide military, economic and political stabilization of Europe.

Parliament Of Fouls By Geoffrey Chaucer
Geoffrey Chaucer
A poet named Geoffrey Chaucer was born around 1340, most likely at his parents home on Thames
Street in the heart of England at the time: London. Chaucer s family was of the bourgeois class,
descended from a very affluent family who made their money by wine trading in upper class London.
According to a few sources, Chaucer s father, John, carried on their family s wine business. Historians
believe that Geoffrey Chaucer attended the St. Paul s Cathedral School, where he probably was the
first time acquainted with the influential writing of Virgil and Ovid.

The first two of each character s stories would be set with the character being on his/her way to

the overly ambitious one. Where in reality, The Canterbury Tales is made up of only 24 tales and

fragmented and rather random in order, and scholars and historians are always debating whether the

Analysis Of The Star Spangled Banner
As our national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner is more than familiar to us Americans. For most of
the times, we feel a sense of patriotism when the tune rises. Usually, our society confirms that the
lyrics of the national anthem promote a sense of praise to our nation. This makes people rarely
examine what other messages our national anthem wants to pass to us. However, Jimi Hendrix, the
renowned rock guitarist from the late 1960s, interpreted our national anthem in a very different
perspective. He used different sound effects and crafted special emphasis throughout his recreation of
the song in the Woodstock music festival for one purpose celebrating the freedom of expression in this
country. The presentation of optimistic and pessimistic viewpoints throughout the performance
signifies the listeners the praise to the freedom of expression in America the spirit which enables us to
grow from our struggles. As American citizens, we have the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner at our
fingertips. However, most of us never think about what these words stand for. Usually, we generalize
the entire song to symbolize American patriotism with the often positive sounding accompaniment.
Nevertheless, Jimi Hendrix s recreation of the Star Spangled Banner, is pressuring his audiences to
closely examine the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner.
A very special structural characteristic of this song, as you might not have noticed before, is that it
constantly asks questions. For example,

My Sister Is A Two Time Breast Cancer Survivor Essay
My sister Kate was laying on a stretcher in the hallway of her local hospital with a badly broken ankle.
Her ankle was shattered, splintered, destroyed. And this was good news!
Kate s ankle was broken because she had slipped on snow covered ice during a blinding New England
snow storm, referred to by New Englanders as a Nor easter, while walking from her office to her car.
She was laying on a stretcher in the hospital hallway because many others in her town had met with
misfortune during this storm and were also in the hospital awaiting care and there was no room for
Kate except for where she lay. This was good news because Kate was in the hospital for something
other than the breast cancer she had been battling over the past several years. Good things can come in

Human Nature Vs. Moral Logic Essay
With numerous wars, murders, and rapes it s normal to think that humans tend towards disorder. Even
at a young age, humans are selfish and think egocentrically. If they are lucky, they grow up to think
abstractly, only to use those thoughts to outsmart another human. However, human nature is
fundamentally good: if one was to strip a human of their social responsibilities and influences, they
would realize that a human is simple minded and morally good. They openly donate their time and
resources to care for their loved ones. It s only when societal beliefs interfere with moral logic does
one not care for their family members, justifying their reasoning with something like, I don t have
enough time to get my mom her medication. I have to go to work. To Zhu Xi, humans contain a basic
understanding of the principles or patterns of human nature. In that, they possess ethical/moral
principles that are naturally ingrained in them. Humans are morally good since they contain the
knowledge of what is right or wrong. For example, a human would shy away from killing a person,
since it s wrong to kill, and they would give their money to a poor man on the street, since that would
be the right thing to do. Zhu Xi sees these basic ethical principles as li. Li is the basis of human nature,
as it structures reality. It is the moral pattern, li, that influences our actions and thoughts, which helps
build our character. Qi is the basic building block of the world: the physical shape and

Since little is known about the stated subject, this study was performed to better understand the
experience and impact of ICD implantation after cardiac arrest on a patient s intimate partner. I believe
that this study falls into the basic research category. According to Knapp (1998), research that is
designed primarily to extend the knowledge base in a discipline by contributing to theory generation
or theory testing is called basic research (p. 6). The study s purpose is to extend knowledge and to
better understand human experiences regarding the physical, psychological, emotional, and
psychosocial impact of cardiac arrest and ICD implantation on a patient s intimate partner. At the end
of the study, researchers did declare that further research is needed on the topic and that intimate
partners may benefit from an intervention that would assist them with the following: their
psychological adjustment, learning how to manage the impact of ICD s on their relationship, and
learning how to effectively deal with the caregiver strain that is associated with caring for loved ones
after a cardiac event.

A closer look at the return on assets ratio tells us that the company is not using its assets efficiently to
generate its profit, as the figure of 2015 is lower than that of the previous two years. Return on
investment ratio measures the ability to generate profit from owner s investment. From the chart above
we can see that while the figure in 2015 is greater than that of 2013, it is still less than that of 2014.
Thus, the company is showing a deteriorating performance and profitability based on comparison with
figures of the previous years. 2. Risk In order to determine the risk associated with investing in a
company, it is crucial to look at the company s financing of operations. In particular, the investor
should focus on finance through liabilities versus finance through equity. While reliance on debt does
not necessarily equate to less profitability, the impact of debt management and interest expense on
said debts is important for the company s future performance. We can use financial ratios to evaluate
its risk profile:
Liabilities to assets ratio, or debt to capital ratio, gives a comparison on the company s total liabilities
to totals assets. This

First Generation College Students
Coming from a smaller town where a lot of families do not have the money to send themselves or

high school was over. Applying for financial aid and signing up for classes without having a family
member who has done it before is very difficult, the student don t know what classes to take or how
much money to take out for loans, as a first generation college student myself it has been hard to do all
the paperwork for college. A first generation college student can be very stressed like all college
students but for first generation students they have no one that has gone through the same thing and
that could help them get through it. Financial issues are going to be stressful for every college student,
but for first generation students it can get extremely difficult seen as they do not know that much
about applying for financial aid. Some students can get scholarships that help to pay for their college,
though they do not know how to apply for those scholarships sometimes.Students who are first
generation do not get the advice of their parents on college, just like how they do not know how to
sign up for financial aid and other resources that are useful. Going to college as a first generation
college student is a hard experience to go through, students whose parents did not go to college have a
disadvantage because they do not know how to adjust well to living at college.

Teen Pregnancy And The Teenage Pregnancy Rates
Pregnancy and parenthood is a significantly life altering event that anyone could experience. These
two life events inquire not only physical but mental obstacles. What happens when these events occur
when your body is not physically developed and your mental maturity is not fully ripened? This
happens too often amongst the teen age population. In the United States, teen pregnancies are the
highest when compared to other developed countries. Teen births account for 10% of all births in the
United States. (NCHS) While the only way to solve this issue is to educate teens on prevention,
Hispanics continue to have the highest teen pregnancy rates because lack of financial resources, lack
of formal sexual education, and cultural beliefs.
With Hispanic teenagers accounting for over a quarter of teenage pregnancy there are many factors
affecting the Hispanic communities and families that cause these numbers to be so high. And at 53%
of Hispanic females becoming pregnant at least once by the time they are 20 years old is an extremely
large percentage that causes the Hispanic populace to have the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the
country. Poverty is another root of teenage pregnancy among Hispanic youth. What has been seen in
history in the U.S. is the endless spiral that faces families that are in poverty. When one young woman
becomes pregnant her child if female has a 22% increased chance of becoming a pregnant teenager
herself. With this comes the possibility of

The Issue Of Gun Rights
Gun Rights Even though congressional gun related legislation remains stalemated, there is still a
continued argument over whether laws should be enacted to restrict guns or not enacted to allow gun
rights. Not allowing law abiding citizens, who support the constitution, to exercise their rights to
obtain and own firearms is unjust. Not only does this lead to making all gun owners criminals, it also
makes them easy targets. Citizens who pass background checks should be allowed to obtain and
possess firearms and be able to have concealed carry. Congress should not enact gun control laws
because American s have the right to protect themselves against criminals who usually find ways
around gun restrictions. Rather than hastily passing gun control laws, Congress should pass laws and
focus on issues like awareness and treatment of mental illnesses. Citizens of the United States have the
Constitutional right to bear arms. The Second Amendment of the Constitution reads: A well regulated
Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,
shall not be infringed. Not to mention that the military fights and dies for rights given to us via the
Constitution. All these brave men and women that are trained in firearms, that signed up to serve in
the military, they re largely disarmed especially on our military bases, We need to look at letting the

Childhood Memories And Its Effects On Our Lives
We each have memories, both from long ago and recent times, that we hold dear to us. Memories get
us through the hard days and keep us chipper in the good ones. The past is what makes us who we are.
It shapes how we act, how we treat others, and simply just what we do on a day to day basis.
Memories are the little things that keep this world running smoothly. Imagine what it would be like to
lose those memories. What if you were to forget things to the point you were losing your
functionality? Every 67 seconds another person in the US falls victim to this disease (www.alz.org).
They may remember childhood memories, but forgot where they put the cheese they bought yesterday.

These are people suffering from Alzheimers Disease, affecting 5 million individuals in the United

someone s mental ability, to the point of affecting their everyday life. Alzheimers is actually the most

  • 2. Kurt Donald Cobain Essay examples Kurt Donald Cobain The subject of this writing, is on a man who changed music; a man on the level of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison. This individual is Kurt Donald Cobain from the revolutionary grunge/rock band, Nirvana. While some people would never consider Cobain to hold a major role in the shaping of our music and culture today, they haven t taken the time to look around. Many people overlook the fact that music played a huge role in the lives of Americans during the 90 s. Someday history books will probably even make note of the influence this rocker had on the decade. Kurt Cobain was born February 20, 1967 in a small town near Seattle, Washington. His family soon after moved to Aberdeen, Washington. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two jumped in and out of bands and eventually went on to form Nirvana. Even before Kurt found Krist, he tried out for the band The Melvins, but was unsuccessful. Interestingly enough, The Melvins were a big inspiration to all members of the later formed Nirvana. (Kurt Cobain Page) Nirvana was first created in 1986, but didn t reach its final form until 1988. They went through a variety of drummers until they stumbled upon Dave Grohl, an Ohio native. They played the local scene until 1989 when they were able to record their first CD, Bleach on the tiny Sub Pop Records. The real flood and change of music came when they released the 1991 smash success Nevermind on Geffen Records. With the powerful opening song/single Smells Like Teen Spirit Nirvana and Kurt were able to take the nation by storm. (The Kurt Cobain Memorial) The energy and rebellion caught everyone s attention and has since sold over 10 million copies making it one of the most successful albums ever. The album made the band instant millionaires. The public frenzy and grueling tours that ensued led to extreme troubles for Kurt. He soon became very involved in heroin use to battle the tension and physical problems caused by it. The pressure did benefit him in the fact that it helped him to craft ideas for new music. One event that added greatly to the stress on him involved his song Polly. The song was supposed to be a very powerful anti rape song, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Are Brahman And God Similar In Western Religions Journal Reflection 1 Madison Dever How are Brahman and God similar in Western Religions? How are they different? Why? Brahman and God have many similarities and differences. Brahman is the ultimate, infinite Godhead of Hinduism while God is the head of many different Western Religions such as Christianity. Both are infinite and limitless. They are also very different, Brahman is a human being divine self , which remains formless, while Christianity s God is the creator of human beings who are devotees who follow God. This infinite center of every life, this hidden self or Atman, is no less than Brahman, the Godhead. Body, personality, and Atman Brahman a human self is not completely accounted for until all three are noted. (Smith 21) Both Brahman and God have infinite power. Brahman is the human self but has a being that never dies and is unrestricted. The ultimate goal in Hinduism is to achieve this realization of one self to earn liberation (moksha). In Christianity, God is seen as an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He came to identify himself with the sorrows of the world, however impure and murderous they might be, until his heart was scored with scars. But he knew that he must love God in all sorts and conditions of men, however antagonistic and hostile, and in all forms of thought controlling their existence and often setting them at variance to one another. Both religions God, is seen as omnipotent. The devotee must love that God no matter what, even if He does not make everyone obey willing to be kind. Death and destruction still happens even though a Supreme Being is present . That is another difference between Brahman and God. Brahman doesn t have an active role in maintaining the world. Christians see God has more of a duty to protect the world. I feel as though Brahman is present but expects the people to maintain the world with no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Health Care Cost Benefit Analysis Federal health care costs continue to exceed the American economy fueled by federal health care law, rising enrollments, and increased enrollee spending. The 2010 Affordable Care Act (ACA) significantly changed federal health care policies in the key areas of insurance coverage, access to care, medical care financing, and Medicare program operations. ACA provides good benefits to Americans but comes with a 12.2% increase in cost to the federal government (Meyer, 2017). Health care costs are projected to increase to more than $4 trillion dollars by the end of 2017 nearly doubling since 2006 (Meyer, 2017). Economists project this trend to continue estimating a 6.9% increase annually making it the single highest cost to the federal government (Edwards, 2017). The cost of health care is approaching a crisis if unchecked will continue to grow. Congress has struggled to reach consensus on a more efficient approach to managing health cares costs failing in 2017 to repeal or replace ACA. They will need to reengage now to enact laws to stabilize this looming threat to the American people. I recommend three changes to reduce the impact to federal debt. These changes are repeal individual and employer mandates, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Drug coverage is also a significant cost to both Medicaid and Medicare. This recommendation reduces costs specifically in Medicaid and Medicate Part D (Federal Deficit fit with Health Care, 2017. The prescription drug benefit, known as Part D, subsidizes drug cost and has had an estimated 13% increase in premiums since 2016. These rising costs must be mitigated and requiring drug manufacturers to pay the same rebate currently paid to Medicaid and Medicare is the first step. Rebates are paid quarterly to the states and shared with the federal government to offset the overall cost. • 5. Historical Precedents For The Rise Of Rock N Roll Covers versions are credited to be one of the most important precedents for the rise of rock n roll. This commercial and musical phenomenon is the use of a previously recorded song that is either remade or reinterpreted by another group or artist. There is an argument that cover versions are employed by bands and artists in order to cash in on the success that the original version provided the original artist. However, as in all debates, there is a side that argues that cover versions reinterpret or reimage the original song and change the experience and the meaning of the song based on how the artist or group reinterprets or reimages it. In the following singles, California Dreamin , I Will Always Love You, and She s Like the Wind there are examples of the latter argument of artists reinterpreting or reimaging the original singles in their covers. Starting in California, where dreamin is a way to contemplate the meaning of one s life. At least that is the Mamas and Papas original version of California Dreamin. The Mamas and Papas were a group situated in Los Angles and the Southern California pop scene and what made them emerge out among other pop or folk groups was the mixture of male and female voices. California Dreamin, recorded by The Mamas and Papas in 1965, is credited to be an anthem of those heady times of the 1960s. Although the single never reached the number one spot on the charts, the single remained on the charts for 17 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. IIi.features Of A Smart Grid III .FEATURES OF A SMART GRID Reliability The smart grid uses technology to self locate faults so their rectification is fast and sound. This self healing property of smart grid makes it more reliable than the conventional grid. Main technology used here is state estimation. Multiple routes are used in a smart grid which were used in the old grid as well. But mostly they were radial in nature so that any failure can cause total failure of the system and the current would be shunted to other elements. Flexibility in network topology Next generation grid technology would be far more flexible in transferring two way energy by allowing for distributed generation from solar cells, fuel cells , electric vehicles, wind turbines . Classic one way distribution is not that flexible to cater to problems when load is higher than the generating end . By using smarter grid this is possible. Efficiency Numerous contributions to overall improvement of the efficiency of energy infrastructure are anticipated from the deployment of smart grid technology, in particular including demand side management, for example turning off air conditioners during short term spikes in electricity price, reducing the voltage when possible on distribution lines through Voltage/VAR Optimization (VVO), eliminating truck rolls for meter reading, and reducing truck rolls by improved outage management using data from Advanced Metering Infrastructure systems. Men earn and continue to earn higher incomes than women and thus have a comparative advantage over women. Women have a comparative advantage over men on Childcare and can be justified by their specialization in household chores. Not only does the scientific reasoning reinforce this sexual division of labor, women s low wages and the assumed comparative advantage in child care is used to privilege their contribution to human capital. Have you ever imagined how it would feel when extinct species, like woolly mammoths and passenger pigeons, are brought back to the Earth? How would it be like to revive long dead species? Obviously, many would imagine it to be amusing and fascinating. There are numerous discussions ongoing that address the prospect as well as the impacts of de extinction and cloning. I believe that de extinction and cloning, though seem fascinating at first, are not really worth millions of dollars and hundreds of hours being spent for them. First, we should be protecting the endangered species so that they do not get extinct, rather than reviving those that are already extinct. Second, there are numerous problems with de extinction like tiny market, ethical issues, and some more technical such as the complexity of resurrecting extinct genes, and then interspecies cloning. Moreover, we have heard about several scandals and cases of misusing genetic technology and cloning, due to which it has been a topic of constant public debate. As the saying goes prevention is better than cure , instead of spending limited resources for the research on reviving a few species wiped away by humans, conservationists should focus on preserving the endangered ones. To begin with, spending limited resources just to resurrect a few species does not seem wise to me. Research projects like de extinction require a huge amount of funding, and if we ... A company can use the present value concept to determine the value of a property today that is expected to earn the minimum of the projected future cash flow or the amount of money that needs to be invested today to reach a desired future sum. Investors who are interested in acquiring businesses would use the present value of money concept. Probably the main example of how the present value of money is applied in accounting is: a company wants to accumulate $100,000 in five years and they know there is an 8% interest that is compounded annually. A company would take that information and the present value of money concept to determine the amount of money they need to invest today. Applications of Future Values of Money Computing the future value of money allows accountants to calculate compound interest. The future value of money is used to determine the rate of return at a specific time at a particular interest rate. • 10. Analysis Of Stephen Crane s A Girl Of The Streets Stephen Crane has come to be considered the forerunner of western naturalism (Perosa 94). His works portray the harshest of realities, from the crime and disease ridden streets brought to life in Maggie, to his take on the atrocities of battle in The Red Badge of Courage. Crane pushed his strong messages of environment being a determining element in life, and his belief that there are no heroes, only different individuals in different situations. Crane himself was part of the 19th century movement for naturalism in art, or the contemporary ideas of science and society, which rejected the idealization of experience and adopted an objective and often uncompromisingly realistic (my italics) approach to art (Oxford Dictionaries). In Maggie: A Girl of the Streets, Stephen Crane embarked upon his first endeavor of writing a naturalistic novel. Rather than choosing to write a fiction about documented events in the slums of New York, Crane crafted the depression of the bowery from his own mind, based on his observations and understanding (Pizer 110). Maggie serves as an epitaph as Crane s first novella in a long list of natural and realistic products. The reality of the world around each of the characters is what makes Maggie a truly naturalistic story. Too Much Crying isn t a Good Thing Crying is undoubtedly one of the most common humanistic features when it comes to the emotions of the average person, due to the fact that every human being has shed tears for which ever reasons their emotions led them to. However, crying can also be the result of many other issues and can indicate a serious problem if done continuously and drastically to the point where it becomes a serious concern. In adolescents, it is more normal to cry as the child may not understand or know what to do about a situation, leaving them flustered, agitated, sad, angry, or any negative emotion causing them to cry. With these things being said, when crying is understood to be the result of an underlying deep rooted issue, the next step is to understand the enforcer that is keeping the behavior of crying continuous and figure out exactly how to decrease it to the point of normality. Crying has also yet to be examined systematically in isolation from other problem behavior, such as aggression or tantrums, during functional analyses (Hanley, Iwata, McCord, 2003). Identification of variables that may maintain crying is especially important for populations who are susceptible to psychiatric interventions (e.g., individuals who have intellectual disabilities and communication deficits). Your income statement will list all of your incomes, debts, and taxes so that you can properly assess how much money you have for future investments (Brigham, 2007). It is critical to account for all of your debts to get a legitimate view of your finances. For instance, do not forget to account for food, gas, cell phone bill, entertainment, and other non fixed monthly bills. In order to create an investment plan that you will stick to, you must include reasonable living expenses. If you do not include items such as entertainment, then long term acceptance of your investment plan will be dubious at best. Once you have a reasonable income statement created, you will need to figure out your Debt to Income ratio. This is very easy to create with the information you have included in your income statement: add your monthly income and payments and then divide your monthly income by your monthly payments, if your ratio is above fifty percent, than you should work towards lowering your debt with a goal of less than 25 percent (Brigham, 2007). In the 17th century, the language of sign was so well understood throughout the western part of the country that there was little difficulty in conversations being carried on between tribes, traders, and mountain men. They could easily communicate with one another, even though neither understood a word of the other s dialect at that time. To preserve history, senior leaders must uphold, teach, and pass down heritage and time honored traditions because heritage and tradition is what has shaped us into the military force we are today. This paper will cover the history of military salutes, its evolution, and the effects that it has on the military today. The military salute is a tradition that permeates within the military and dates many centuries. There are two distinct salutes used by the military today. The hand salute and the gun salute. The hand salute is a form of recognition and greeting between members in the armed services. There seems to be no true origin of the hand salute and it leads to a lot of speculation of how this gesture of trust and respect came about. Forms of the hand salute traces back to the Roman and Medieval Times. During the Roman times when assassinations were widespread and common, in order to see a public official, a citizen would have to raise their right hand to show that it was free of a weapon. The Truman Doctrine At the present moment in world history nearly every nation must choose between alternative ways of life. The choice is too often not a free one. One way of life is based upon the will of the majority, and is distinguished by free institutions, representative government, free elections, and guarantees of individual liberty, freedom of speech and religion, and freedom from political oppression. The second way of life is based upon the will of a minority forcibly imposed upon the majority. It relies upon terror and oppression, a controlled press and radio, fixed elections, and the suppression of personal freedoms. I believe that it must be the policy of the United States to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures. I believe that we must assist free peoples to work out their own destinies in their own way. I believe that our help should be primarily through economic stability and orderly political process. Parliament Of Fouls By Geoffrey Chaucer Geoffrey Chaucer A poet named Geoffrey Chaucer was born around 1340, most likely at his parents home on Thames Street in the heart of England at the time: London. Chaucer s family was of the bourgeois class, descended from a very affluent family who made their money by wine trading in upper class London. According to a few sources, Chaucer s father, John, carried on their family s wine business. Historians believe that Geoffrey Chaucer attended the St. Paul s Cathedral School, where he probably was the first time acquainted with the influential writing of Virgil and Ovid. The first two of each character s stories would be set with the character being on his/her way to Canterbury, however, the second two stories of each character were to take place as the it was heading home from Canterbury. Apparently, Chaucer s goal of writing a whopping total 120 stories was quite the overly ambitious one. Where in reality, The Canterbury Tales is made up of only 24 tales and rather abruptly ends where his characters never even make it to Canterbury. The tales are quite fragmented and rather random in order, and scholars and historians are always debating whether the tales were published in their correct order or not. • 32. Analysis Of The Star Spangled Banner As our national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner is more than familiar to us Americans. For most of the times, we feel a sense of patriotism when the tune rises. Usually, our society confirms that the lyrics of the national anthem promote a sense of praise to our nation. This makes people rarely examine what other messages our national anthem wants to pass to us. However, Jimi Hendrix, the renowned rock guitarist from the late 1960s, interpreted our national anthem in a very different perspective. He used different sound effects and crafted special emphasis throughout his recreation of the song in the Woodstock music festival for one purpose celebrating the freedom of expression in this country. The presentation of optimistic and pessimistic viewpoints throughout the performance signifies the listeners the praise to the freedom of expression in America the spirit which enables us to grow from our struggles. As American citizens, we have the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner at our fingertips. However, most of us never think about what these words stand for. Usually, we generalize the entire song to symbolize American patriotism with the often positive sounding accompaniment. Nevertheless, Jimi Hendrix s recreation of the Star Spangled Banner, is pressuring his audiences to closely examine the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner. Her ankle was shattered, splintered, destroyed. And this was good news! Kate s ankle was broken because she had slipped on snow covered ice during a blinding New England snow storm, referred to by New Englanders as a Nor easter, while walking from her office to her car. She was laying on a stretcher in the hospital hallway because many others in her town had met with misfortune during this storm and were also in the hospital awaiting care and there was no room for Kate except for where she lay. This was good news because Kate was in the hospital for something other than the breast cancer she had been battling over the past several years. Good things can come in odd packages sometimes. My sister is a two time breast cancer survivor. The first time was an early diagnosis and routine treatment that was successful. The second time was an aggressive, dark, menacing monster that was dangerous and spreading. After chemotherapy, radiation and a complete mastectomy she had a long road back to her normal self; or what would become her new normal. Kate is now healthy, active and thriving but she has to keep an eye out for any sign that the monster is returning. • 34. Human Nature Vs. Moral Logic Essay With numerous wars, murders, and rapes it s normal to think that humans tend towards disorder. Even at a young age, humans are selfish and think egocentrically. If they are lucky, they grow up to think abstractly, only to use those thoughts to outsmart another human. However, human nature is fundamentally good: if one was to strip a human of their social responsibilities and influences, they would realize that a human is simple minded and morally good. They openly donate their time and resources to care for their loved ones. It s only when societal beliefs interfere with moral logic does one not care for their family members, justifying their reasoning with something like, I don t have enough time to get my mom her medication. I have to go to work. To Zhu Xi, humans contain a basic understanding of the principles or patterns of human nature. In that, they possess ethical/moral principles that are naturally ingrained in them. Humans are morally good since they contain the knowledge of what is right or wrong. For example, a human would shy away from killing a person, since it s wrong to kill, and they would give their money to a poor man on the street, since that would be the right thing to do. Zhu Xi sees these basic ethical principles as li. Li is the basis of human nature, as it structures reality. It is the moral pattern, li, that influences our actions and thoughts, which helps build our character. Qi is the basic building block of the world: the physical shape and ... What little is known about caregiving responsibilities and caregiver burden after a cardiac illness or event has previously been focused on the spousal experiences following an acute myocardial infarction or coronary artery bypass graft surgery (Dougherty Thompson, 2009). Since little is known about the stated subject, this study was performed to better understand the experience and impact of ICD implantation after cardiac arrest on a patient s intimate partner. I believe that this study falls into the basic research category. According to Knapp (1998), research that is designed primarily to extend the knowledge base in a discipline by contributing to theory generation or theory testing is called basic research (p. 6). The study s purpose is to extend knowledge and to better understand human experiences regarding the physical, psychological, emotional, and psychosocial impact of cardiac arrest and ICD implantation on a patient s intimate partner. At the end of the study, researchers did declare that further research is needed on the topic and that intimate partners may benefit from an intervention that would assist them with the following: their psychological adjustment, learning how to manage the impact of ICD s on their relationship, and learning how to effectively deal with the caregiver strain that is associated with caring for loved ones after a cardiac event. Research Questions, Hypotheses, and Design The study that was reviewed did not explicitly state any research questions or hypotheses; rather, a study purpose was noted. Return on investment ratio measures the ability to generate profit from owner s investment. From the chart above we can see that while the figure in 2015 is greater than that of 2013, it is still less than that of 2014. Thus, the company is showing a deteriorating performance and profitability based on comparison with figures of the previous years. 2. Risk In order to determine the risk associated with investing in a company, it is crucial to look at the company s financing of operations. In particular, the investor should focus on finance through liabilities versus finance through equity. While reliance on debt does not necessarily equate to less profitability, the impact of debt management and interest expense on said debts is important for the company s future performance. These two life events inquire not only physical but mental obstacles. What happens when these events occur when your body is not physically developed and your mental maturity is not fully ripened? This happens too often amongst the teen age population. In the United States, teen pregnancies are the highest when compared to other developed countries. Teen births account for 10% of all births in the United States. (NCHS) While the only way to solve this issue is to educate teens on prevention, Hispanics continue to have the highest teen pregnancy rates because lack of financial resources, lack of formal sexual education, and cultural beliefs. With Hispanic teenagers accounting for over a quarter of teenage pregnancy there are many factors affecting the Hispanic communities and families that cause these numbers to be so high. And at 53% of Hispanic females becoming pregnant at least once by the time they are 20 years old is an extremely large percentage that causes the Hispanic populace to have the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the country. • 41. The Issue Of Gun Rights Gun Rights Even though congressional gun related legislation remains stalemated, there is still a continued argument over whether laws should be enacted to restrict guns or not enacted to allow gun rights. Not allowing law abiding citizens, who support the constitution, to exercise their rights to obtain and own firearms is unjust. Not only does this lead to making all gun owners criminals, it also makes them easy targets. Citizens who pass background checks should be allowed to obtain and possess firearms and be able to have concealed carry. Congress should not enact gun control laws because American s have the right to protect themselves against criminals who usually find ways around gun restrictions. Rather than hastily passing gun control laws, Congress should pass laws and focus on issues like awareness and treatment of mental illnesses.
