Israelites Journey
During the historical thirteenth and fourteenth centuries in Egypt, for the Israelites was God divine
plan which was established in Genesis 17:7 Abraham the seed of his descendants and their generations
for an everlasting covenant with God (Fretheim 114). Abraham great grandson Joseph arrived Egypt
as a prisoner and God miraculous power rose him up to second in command base on God covenant

Teens And Mtv s Unrealistic Beliefs On Teen Pregnancy
Research article authors Nicole Martins and Robin E. Jensen, intended to study the relationship
between MTV s series Teen Mom reality show and teenagers unrealistic beliefs about what is like to
be a teen mom. The seven motivations for asking why are used to convince the audience that it is
worthy of research by exploring the relationship with the intentions to discredit the previous findings
that state, Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant is one of the best public service campaign to prevent teen
pregnancy. This topic presents a number of complications in the lives of both induvial and societal as a
whole; providing evidence to answer the readers question on why this topic is of importance and
worthy of research. Yearly, $7 billion are taxed to all U.S citizens for welfare and healthcare relating
to teen pregnancy, driving the United States to the top as the highest rated country with teen
pregnancy. Consequently, almost half of teen mothers are unable to receive a high school diploma;
leading to lower occupation income for both fathers and mothers. I myself have personally witnessed
the toll it takes on one s life from three women who became mothers at a young age. Many teens are
unaware of the high risks and consequences of becoming pregnant or are in denial of the possibility.
Being able to be a part of their journey has increased my belief of the importance on this topic and
related research.
When comparing this article to a good literature review, it successfully provides an adequate overview
of previous research done and uses it to enhance the project at hand. When evaluating the quality and
relevance of this article, Martins and Jensen do an admirable job communicating the purpose of
research to the reader and organizing its literature review. The data from other studies is in
chronological order and are structured from broader studies to more specific ones which is seen when
the sources are cited. An analysis was provided after presenting the findings from previous studies and
the authors were able to communicate how those studies influenced their own research. As a whole,
the literature review was well organized by key ideas and topics that logically lead to the research

Definitions Intellectual Property
Definitions of intellectual property, its legal protections, and the impact of the moral justifications that
exist in cyberspace
Intellectual property defines a wide range of the property created by investors, artistes, authors, and
musicians. The law governing intellectual property naturally includes the copyrights, trademarks, and
patents law. Its main intention is to motivate the development of art, sciences, and information giving
defined rights of property to all the artistes, who include inventors of science and art. These rights
assist artists to safeguard themselves from violation, unauthorized misuse, and use of their creations.
Service marks and trademarks safeguard distinguishing characteristics (such as a package and name
design) that are linked with certain products and services that display commercial source (Blakley,
Johanna 2010).
Laws safeguarding copyrights have strong links with the England law of the eighteenth century.
Complete patent laws may be tracked from the seventeenth century in England, but they have always
been part of the law of United States from the colonial period (Spinello, 2004). The concepts of patent
and copyright were all included in the constitution of the United States. The congress has the power to
encourage the development of useful art and science. It does this by safeguarding constraint time to
inventors and authors the

The Significance Of The Final Solution To The Holocaust
The Holocaust was a systematic, bureaucratic and state sponsored decision made by the Nazi German
Government and their collaborators between years 1936 to 1945 to eliminate all Jews from European
society. This decision was known as the final solution to the Jewish question (Todd Allan 2001).
Although German authorities main target was the Jews they also targeted specific groups who were
perceived as racially inferior including; Roma (Gypsies), some Slavic people (poles, Russians and
others), communist, socialist, Jehovah s witnesses, the disabled, the mentally ill, homosexuals and
other people deemed inferior (Introduction to the Holocaust 2016). Jews were the main victims of the
holocaust as they were a source of hatred within Germany

Are Conservatives Racist
The word racist has been labeled to a specific type of people. According to the Merriam Webster racist
is defined as, a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or
who believes that a particular race is superior to another. These people have also been classified as
conservatives. The question that I present in this essay is why conservatives are seen as racist? This
question will be answered with both perspectives of the Liberals and the Conservatives. With their
inputs I can as the writer have a better understanding on this matter. The articles that I present are very
bias filled in which so I present two of the opposite opinion to balance out. The bumper sticker that is

fact there are bad people in any group and how there is the Misrepresentation of a community, but
questioned that liberals hadn t walked away from the past and all of this is counterproductive. Which
implies that conservative or the author of this article thinks liberals need some racist enemy to fight
against. Even after the post Civil right movement. Conservatives are convinced that liberals hold on to
those events as some fuel to push their agenda. It is said that liberals are so proud of their
achievements in the Civil Rights Movement it is all they have to combat the conservatives. Which is

Why Movement Matters By Rae Pico
After reading over the two articles: Why Movement Matters by Rae Pica and Learning Through
Music: The Support of Brain Research by Elizabeth Carlton, it reveals a cohesion in learning music
and a child s movements. In the first article, Why Movement Matters by Rae Pica, the author
expresses a shocking idea I have never think about to which that the majority of [the] people will
never see the movement as a top priority in children s lives and education. This is interesting for me
because as a parent myself, I see that the development of children s movement is really important
because most of the time, in order for a child to perform a task, he/she requires and be able to move.
Not only that but when a child learns to move, his/her motor

Social Networking Social networking has been around for years whether it s facebook, twitter,
youtube, myspace, etc. It has been studied since the beginning of the 20th century. A social network
service is a web site that allows people to create a public profile for everyone to see. There are both
positive and negative effects of social networking. Facebook is the most used and populated website
on the web. Facebook was launched seven years ago and has already attracted over a half a billion
people around the world and it still continues to grow. Three years ago facebook wasn t as a popular as
it is now with only 8 % of the U.S. population signed on to facebook. Today, more than ... Show more

However, there are also some negative aspects of social networking. Some people tend to get cyber
bullied on the internet. A child or teen usually gets tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated,
embarrassed, or targeted by another child or teen using the internet or even on mobile phones. Some
people commit suicide because of the mean things that people say to them. For this to not happen the
best thing to do is delete the account and stay offline for a while until the stalkers have gotten tired of
the whole thing. However, you should report it to the police before doing this. It can also lead into
depression. Some people tend to make fun of others such as calling them ugly or fat. This may tend to
make that person emotional and depressed and may lower their self esteem. Although their self esteem
is already low this can lead them to committing suicide. Teens like their own privacy no matter what it
is they re doing. Sometimes they just need to be left alone. That s another thing about cyber bullying.
Some strangers invade on others privacy. Some strangers may want to help teens with the problems
they are facing, but if you can t help them at least do not harm them. There are many ways for people
to communicate such as, chat, messaging, email, video, voice, file

The Effects Of Corporal Punishment On Student Development...
The Aftermath of a Raised Hand What is the harm of a little physical reinforcement to ensure children
know how to properly act in society? This idea of physical reinforcement is also known as corporal
punishment and is still present today in the southern American states, including some Texas school
systems. Corporal punishment defined as punishment of a physical nature, such as caning, flogging, or
beating (Corporal punishment). Some administers believe benefits include fewer student outbursts and
a quiet environment; however, this logic fails to include the psychological implications of corporal
punishment on students. Negative effects of corporal punishment negate the benefits of classroom
management, as evidenced by the Social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, if a student experiences punishment from a teacher/principal at school just to get even more
punishment from a parent for the same offense, then consequently the violence is what the child will
remember most vividly. The conditions to model this violent behavior includes attention, retention,
reproduction, and motivation which can be interpreted as the attention to the fact that violence is an
adult s response causes a child to model the behavior of the adults around them resulting in more
violence (Bandura, 288).
Subconsciously most adults tend to believe that the easiest way to deal with a disobedient child or
person is to cause physical harm. This answer of violence more times than not stems from the anger a
student caused in doing wrong. Justification for corporal punishment originates from the past and is
often the defense of pro corporal punishment advocates. Physical punishment can be traced back to
ancient times exemplified in Egypt, concerning the slaves that built the pyramids. These deep roots of
physical punishment are often referred to as a form of proof that it works. To use Egyptian violence as
an example is pushing the envelope of what corporal punishment is today, regardless the reaction to
that punishment is similar because human nature is present in both time periods. Punishment in and of
itself is not inherently detrimental to a person s development; however, in the case of school corporal
punishment the extra violent input

reveals that there is growing shift towards value based care and providers are looking for ways to cut
healthcare costs. The residents from rural areas need to travel miles to access hospitals. The facilities
in these areas are limited and doesn t provide enough services. Most ambulatory centers don t offer a
complete breadth of services while full scale hospitals often offer more than some communities need.

The Five Stages Of Team Development
At some point of our academic or professional history, we were required to work with our peers, we
know or barely know. This opportunity are great instrument to learn and expand our experience and
social circle. Initially it could be stressful, and time consuming, but if done well the result would be
extremely rewarding, it is called teamwork.
Insert teamwork definition
Why is teamwork essential?
Five Stages of Team Development
In 1965, a professor of psychology at the Ohio State University, Bruce Tuckman propose the five
stages of group development (Andersen Bolt, 2011, p. 161). Tuckman strongly suggest the norm order
for team to grow as one coordinated group.
Teamwork plays a fundamental role in providing a high quality service and achieving
accomplishments. Most teams usually go through five stages of development in order for them to
successfully meet their group s purpose. Here is the five stages of team development:
1. Forming stage is the first phase of team development. This is the period where the first impression
will initially form. The team begins as soon as they are created. The individuals will be formerly
introduced to their peers, they have to work with. Members would still be wary and cautious of their
surroundings. In addition, this is the stage where the members will determine, how they will organize
their approach in order to meet their desired goals.
2. Storming stage is the second phase of team development. This is when the conflict between the

Analysis Of The US Department Of Health And Human Services
The US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is an agency under the US Secretary of
Health and Human Services that protects and provides health and human services to American
citizens. The agency administers more than 100 programs some of which include: social services,
health insurance, prevention and wellness, research, among others (HHS, 2017). This assignment
analyzes of the agency s policies, procedures, and plans regarding unions, privatization, pensions, and
productivity.

In addition, it is beneficial to the employees as through the union, things like wages and insurance
could be agreed through collective bargaining.
The Agency and Privatization
The main role of the DHHS is to protect the health of the citizens as well as offer human services
while promoting social services and public health. The agency is under the leadership of the US
Secretary of Health and Human Sciences who is directly appointed the president. Privatization of the
agency implies that the services and programs offered by the agency would be contracted with private
vendors. In case of a privatization, programs and services such as social services, health insurance,
public health and safety, and emergency preparedness and response would no longer be provided by
the government and citizens would seek these services from individual providers.
However, such services should only be provided by the government mainly because of the resources
involved and the coverage. There is no opportunity for privatization as this would mean that the
government would no longer be responsible for the protection of health and human services. The key
reasons why the agency should not privatize revolve around the quality of health and human services
as well as maintaining government jobs. Since the agency mainly offers health and related social
services, there are concerns that private companies will reduce the amount of

Sharp Objects Camille Preaker Summary
Sharp Objects I am a cutter, you see. Also a snipper, a slicer, a carver, a jabber. I am a very special
case. I have a purpose. My skin, you see, screams. It s covered with words cook, cupcake, kitty, curls
as if a knife wielding first grader learned to write on my flesh. I sometimes, but only sometimes,
laugh. Getting out of the bath and seeing, out of the corner of my eye, down the side of a leg:
babydoll. Pull on a sweater and, in a flash of my wrist: harmful. Why these words? Thousands of
hours of therapy have yielded a few ideas from the good doctors. They are often feminine, in a Dick
and Jane, pink vs. puppy dog tails sort of way. Or they re flat out negative. Number of synonyms for
anxious carved in my skin: eleven. The one thing I know for sure is that at the time, it was crucial to

why she carves words such as Harmful into her flesh. One might notice that her mother, Adora was

when she was in College and when she did she never said I Love You. Camille s illness was so bad
that she was hospitalized at one point. Camille begins to cut for a number of reasons. Her mother,
Adora, was very negligent towards her. Adora was very negligent because she was focused on Marian
her other daughter. Marian was constantly sick and no one knew why, except for her mother. In the

so many drugs that in the end it caused her death. Many years after her death, Adora wanted to care

1.2 Service recovery and customer handling
Service recovery and handling customer complaints is very important in the airline industry and leads
to customer satisfaction and loyalty. In the past, Jetstar in particular have had to put their service
recovery plans into action. For example, on the 16th of April 2007, a Jetstar flight was cancelled with
300 Australian customers being stranded in the airport for 48 hours. Although the article doesn t
specify how Jetstar used service recovery whilst the customer were stranded, it does state that Jetstar
personally called each passenger to apologise, as well as telling them they would receive another
apology in writing and a $500 travel voucher with the possibility of them being able to travel business
class next time (Murphy, 2007). Although the compensation is resonable, Jetstar should have
apologised face to face whilst the customers were stranded in the airport in order for the service
recovery to be more successful. According to Lovelock et al, if the response time for compliant
handling is done immediately, 56% of those customers that are involved will be satisfied (2004). It has
also been discovered that 85% of the time, a customer whom had a very serious complaint can be
turned into a loyal customer, so long as the handling of the complaint

##hol s Meaning Of Barbiturach, 1962 By Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol s work, Marilyn Diptych, 1962 is a depiction of an image of Marilyn Monroe who was a
famous actress as well as a sex symbol but had a dark ending, dying of barbiturate overdose. In this
work, Warhol captures both the life and tragic death of the superstar by recreating a publicity photo of
her. In the painting, the actress s face is portrayed fifty times, twenty five times in color on the right
and the same number of times in black and white on the left. One way to understand how this specific
work should be interpreted is by examining it as an expressionist theorist. To experience this work
properly I will act as an expressionist theorist and make sure to recognize my feelings transmitted as I
interpret the work, be aware of how it expresses emotion, and grasp the uniqueness of the work.
As an expressionist theorist, I recognize that the use of color can express the artist s emotion. Warhol
used a warm color mix of bright yellow, orange, and turquoise on the right section and a dull color
mix of black and white tints on the left. By using mixed media that represents a slow fade of the
photos towards the end, Warhol captures life s transition from the bright and youthful days when one
is full of energy to the tragic halt caused by death, which is also signified by the dull colors. Here, the
artist provides a form of experience of life and death that the viewer can relate to. The use of acrylic
on canvas and screen painting shows a transition in life from the

A Brief Note On The Alzheimer s Association
Overall, people who take care of dementia patients must handle health care responsibilities of the
person with dementia more often than caregivers of people who do not have dementia. Some of the
common tasks outlined by the Alzheimer s Association include assisting with daily activities around
the house, managing the medications, helping with activities of daily living such as getting dressed
and bathing, and providing support for the person with dementia as the disease progresses. Dementia
residents require significantly more assistance with activities of daily living and help around the house
in comparison to other older adults (Alzheimer s Association, 2016). Due to the time consuming
responsibilities and the increasing level of care required during this stage, this might be a time when
informal caregivers outsource some the responsibility to formal caregivers and facilities equipped for
the level of intensity required.
Another task caregivers face as the dementia progresses in the person they are taking care of is
communication. The Alzheimer s Association provides a pamphlet on the most prevalent behavior
changes and recommendations on how the informal caregiver should handle such changes. Common
changes in communication include a gradual loss of ability to find the right words and organize
thoughts and emotions effectively, a decline in the amount of verbal communication used, and going
back to one s first language (Alzheimer s Association, 2014b). As the disease

Nationalism in Quebec and Canadian Politics Essay
During the twentieth century, Canada as a nation witnessed and endured several historical events that
have had a deep and profound influence on Canadian politics. The most influential and constant force
in twentieth century Canadian politics has been the increasing power and command of Quebec
nationalism and the influence it has had on Canadian politics today. Quebec nationalism has shaped
the structure and dynamics of Canadian federalism from a centralized to a decentralized form of

regarding its cultural distinctiveness***. Thus, the Francophone language and culture has always been
at the forefront of Quebec priorities. Since Confederation, Quebec nationalist have felt that the
Francophone language and culture has been at risk of assimilation by the rest of Canada. As a result,
Quebec nationalism is fundamentally rooted in the preservation of the Francophone language and
culture (Guiberneau 2006, 52). Political leaders in Quebec continuously urge for the recognition that
Canada is composed of two nations or cultures (McRoberts 1991, 413). Prior to confederation Quebec
enjoyed numerous autonomous privileges. Unfortunately, post confederation Quebec did not enjoy as
many autonomous privileges because Canada was created as a relatively centralized federation
(Beland and Lecours 2007, 406). A centralized federation not only took several of these autonomous
powers away from Quebec, but it also threatened the Francophone language and culture (Beland and
Lecours 2007, 406). With this said, Quebec nationalism has placed a great deal of pressure on the
federal government to decentralize, giving more powers to provincial governments.

Personal Internship Analysis
Personal Internship Supervision Model
According to Loganbill, Hardy, Delworth (1982), and Stoltenberg (1981), At the advanced student
level, an essential characteristic, according to our informants and other formulations, is the student s
variable confidence, the duality of feeling confident and professionally uncertain at the same time (as
cited in Ronnestad Skovholt, 2001, p. 400). This analysis suggests that there is a probability for an
intern to feel professionally insecure and confident simultaneously. Therefore, the supervisor s role
becomes crucial.
The personal internship supervision is an integrative model where the supervisor integrates her role of
a counselor, consultant, and a teacher based on the situation or the caseload. During the internship
process, it was noticed that the supervisee felt vulnerable about the paper work, but was confident in
building therapeutic alliance with clients. Therefore, the supervisor made conscious efforts to
understand the supervisee s attitudes and conceptualizations of the problem. She relentlessly asked
questions and concerns. The supervisor provided opportunities for the supervisee to voluntarily reflect
on the each week s progress. In the case where the client appeared to be difficult, the supervisor
exemplified patience.
As stated by Ronnestad and Skovholt (2001) the development stages of the supervisee during
internship when corresponds with the relationship between therapy and supervisor helps the therapist

Automobile Dependency and the Working Poor Essay
Automobile Dependency and the Working Poor David Shipler briefly mentions in The Working Poor
that lack of access to a car is one of the factors that make finding and holding a job difficult. A person
in need of a job may be unable to afford a car, since car ownership is so expensive, but they may need
a car because of urban sprawl and inadequate public transit networks. But just how serious is the
burden of car ownership, and how exactly does under funded public transit and urban sprawl
contribute to the need to take on this burden? The costs of car ownership concern motorists greatly, so
it isn t difficult to find information. AAA releases an annual brochure and report called Your Driving
Costs. Their 2004 brochure reports a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Retail establishments and big box retailers sprang up to support new residential growth, but their
employee base of unskilled workers was still largely based within the inner cities, making commutes
longer and more expensive. As jobs and people left the cities, many urban transit networks found
themselves going out of business. Many that survived were publicly acquired and heavily subsidized.
As a result, owning a car has become critical to the ability to seek, acquire and hold a job. For
example, a recent report by Washington think tank the Brookings Institution states that 32 percent of
Baltimore residents do not have cars. An Abell Foundation report says this endangers the ability of
these residents to get and keep a job. According to Brookings fellow Margy Waller, people with a car
are more likely to work, work more hours, and have a higher level of income. The Brookings
Institution proposes lowering the barriers to car ownership in order to help more Baltimoreans become
productive citizens. These barriers are high in Maryland, especially in Baltimore City, making car
access more difficult to achieve than it is on average. However, it is not clear whether car ownership is
a pathway to or a symptom of success. The Brookings Institution believes that it is the former, but the
truth is probably more complex. There is a strong movement for better public

Common signs of infection are not always accurate in distinguishing these two types but two
parameters, bursal warmth and fever are highly specific for septic bursitis.2 Moreover, bursal fluid
should be aspirated and analyzed for white cell count, fluid to serum glucose ratio,
polymorphonucleocytes, gram stain and culture and presence of crytals.2 These tests seem useful if a
specific etiology such as rheumatoid arthritis or gout is suspected. If the patient was showing signs of
infection such as fever, redness and warmth at the site and purulent bursal aspirate, a CBC with
differential should be ordered and aspirated bursa fluid should be analyzed. To help identify
rheumatoid arthritis an erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C reactive protein and Rheumatoid factor
should be tested.1 In addition, if gout was suspected a uric acid level and the bursal aspirate should be
tested for crystals. However, there were no signs of either septic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or gout
in this patient so these tests were not considered necessary. Plain X rays of the elbow would have been

we read in class, in a story it talks about how a slave man begs his master to please buy his betrothed,
but it turned out that Dorcas was sold with a whole family. In the meanwhile, Jeffery s master only
wanted Dorcas not the whole family that was with her. While on the other story, it talks about how a
group of slaves got caught hidden in a barn. While they was trying to escape for their freedom, a man
asked if he could help them. That they could hide in his barn because if someone caught them
escaping that then they would probably be beat to death. The poor slaves accepted going to the man s

The Communication Strategies That Involving Actors Adopted...
For this final case application I will be analysing the communication strategies that involving actors
adopted during the 2015 Paris terrorists attacks. The event was one of Europe s most deadly attacks
leaving more than 100 dead and more than 350 injured. Unfortunately however, this was not the first
attack on Paris that same year, in January 2015, terrorists attacked the Charlie Hebdo magazine
headquarters killing twelve people. The November attacks thus, occurred in a city that was already
shaken by terrorists attacks. On the night of November 13th, the attacks occurred in different points of
Paris including the Stade de France (where President Hollande was), the Bataclan Theatre (where a
concert was given) and many streets throughout the city. All of the attacks occurred in less than an
hour and were perpetrated by a terrorist cell who had pledged allegiance to ISIS. ISIS claimed it had
committed these attacks as a response of French military engagement with the terrorist organisation in
Syria. However, the days after the attacks were carried out are essential in order to take a grasp on
understanding the crisis communication. After the attack President François Hollande gave a ground
breaking speech. He created a clear us vs. them mentality amongst the French people that would help
unite not only Parisians but all French citizens. After the attacks, Hollande immediately took action by
strengthening security in Paris and declared a nation wide état d urgence: public

1. What would it take for AMD to see a significant increase in its market share in processors used in
corporate desktops and notebooks? How can the success of Opteron in the server segment be
leveraged to other segments?
Before coming back on the success of Opteron , AMD s product range in the server segment, we have
to explain the history of the company and what leads AMD to launch this new innovative and
disruptive product line in 2003.
For years, AMD held the place of a distant follower of the large microprocessor market leader, Intel.
Up to there, the competitor Intel led the market (with a push strategy) by creating consumer needs
thanks to technological innovations. Those were linked with strong marketing campaign in order to
facilitate a quicker adoption process of their new product line. However, in 2003, AMD change its
traditional strategy to use a widely different one by switching into a blue ocean strategy. Indeed, AMD
has changed course to become a starter firm. AMD has decided to launch at first its own brand server
microprocessor range, called Opteron before one of Intel. At this moment, the firm made the decision
to initiate the moves of server segment and therefore take heavier risks in term of investments, sales,

Bernard L. Madoff s Life
Bernard L. Madoff was born into a family that had originally immigrated to the United States during
the Great Depression. Bernard s parents, Ralph and Sylvia Madoff had originally tried their hands in
the financial world unsuccessfully. His mother registered as a broker dealer in the early 1960s but the
SEC forced her to close the business for failing to report her financial condition (like mother like son
right). When Bernie was younger, he did not care for finance; he was focused mainly on his girlfriend
Ruth and his high schools swim team. In his spare time Bernie would work as a lifeguard and save his
money for later investments. After graduating high school, in 1956, he set off to college at the

of the company as well. Madoff also employed his three sons Mark, Andrew, and Roger who only
worked there shortly before his death in 2006. Madoff s rise on Wall Street was from his beliefs, that
seemed quite bizarre to many at the time, that stocks could be traded by people who never saw each
other but were connected only by electronics. Madoff had invested in a lot of new electronic trading
technology for his firm, which made it cheaper for brokerage firms to fill their stock orders. He even
pioneered a controversial practice called payment for order flow. He would pay big players to send
their customer orders to his firm instead of to the New York Exchange or other regional exchanges. A
lot of buzz was made by floor traders at the traditional exchanges claiming that Madoff was in essence
paying bribes, but Madoff insisted, The order flow payments were necessary to inject greater
competition into the marketplace and reduce the near monopoly of the Big Board (Henriques, 2008).
Madoff was not the household name among American investors, before the scheme, but within Jewish
philanthropy in the New York area his wealth and growing reputation among market insiders was. He

Organized Crime Vs Globalized Crime
but that changed when financialization and globalization influenced the larger firms, for example, Fiat,
to extract long term and innovative ventures from this country (Borioni, 2011).
Organized crime and corruption are substantial impairments to both investments and financial growth,
which has an estimated 60 billion dollars squandered yearly in unused public resources. Transnational
organized crime has manifested because of globalization and the increasing financial interdependence,
which have been the placated and steadying influences that have encouraged crime across the borders,
places, individuals, and identifiable victims (Massari, 2001).
Organized crime started in Sicily when the Sicilians came together to protect themselves and perform
their own impartiality, had no criminal implications, but was represented as an individual who was
suspicious of dominant authority (Origins of the Mafia, 2009). Some of these groups transpired as
private armies, or mafie and these groups extorted money from landowners for protection and in turn
emerged as the Sicilian Mafia. As the unseasoned government in Italy was attempting to inaugurate
itself in 1861, the crime controlled the country and by 1870 Roman officials propositioned the Sicilian
Mafia to assist them by going after threatening, individual groups and the government would turn their
heads when the Mafia extorted protection money from the landowners (Origins of the Mafia, 2009).

Christian Beliefs Of The World
Charlemagne, was a man raised on Christian beliefs who spent his life waging war on those who were
not Christian. Conquered peoples were forced to accept Christianity as their fate or face exile and/or
death. This manner of conversion to Christian beliefs completely goes against the teachings of his
beloved bible. The hypocrisy of these acts bring one to question his true motivations. Was he really
trying to spread Christianity or was he simply using his Christian crusade as a means to expand his
territories using the support of the pope and the Papal States claiming protector?
Charlemagne
Charlemagne, Charles the Great, Carlos Magnus, Karl der Grosse, the eldest son of Pepin III, was
born April 2, 0742 probably in Aachen, Austrasia (now Germany) (Winston, 2015). He was raised in
an environment of change from the Franks primarily pagan worship lifestyle to one of Christian
beliefs with strong family ties to the popes and missionaries of the times. His great grandfather Clovis,
had converted to Christianity under the influence of his Christian wife, and his reign began the family
s relationship with the Christian Church (Winston, 2015). Primarily educated by his mother and the
monks of Saint Denis in his youth, he spent a great deal of his adult life studying grammar, astronomy,

The term motivation and empowerment is a universal concept that is hoped to work towards the good
of any organization. Motivation and empowerment does not come from rewards to employees but
instead, recognition, responsibility and advancement. Leaders who are effective in motivating and
empowering their staff have acquired a great achievement, which can increase efficiency, and self

Analyze the implications of empowerment and delegation in a criminal justice organization
Today the style and practices of police leadership is changing rapidly. The term shared leadership is
one being used by many police chiefs all across the country. They believe that this approach to
management by sharing power and influence to individuals within the organization, who are otherwise
hierarchical unequal, will view their leadership as a leadership which looks at the broader aspect of
giving authority to employees which will allow them to make decisions, solve problems, and be held
accountable for their actions (Mussellwhite, 2007).
Whenever officers are empowered they become dedicated to their jobs. Because they are given the
skills, resources, authority, opportunity to be motivated and committed to their jobs, roles, or duties.
Something which is refers to as being dedicated. Employees empowerment in a police department
which delegate assignments, allow officers to take responsibility of their jobs results. It also allows
them to make decisions about it. When officers are delegated with responsibilities, it makes them

The Causes And Negative Effects Of Dysfunctional Family
See, I think there are roads that lead us to each other. But in my family, there were no roads just
underground tunnels. I think we all got lost in those underground tunnels. No, not lost. We just lived
there. by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Dysfunctional families can lead to a few bad things in life, especially
towards their own children. When having a bad effect towards each other, they usually get lost in what
the problem is and forget about how to overcome them. The negative effects can also change an
individual s identity as well. Family dysfunction can have a negative effect on an individual s identity
in several ways.
One way family dysfunction affects an individual s identity is by lack of affection. First, when a child
does not get the affection needed from their family. For example, when a child starts to grow up. They
are needing affection whenever they want whether it being alone, tired, happy, or to feel encouraged.
It makes themselves feel good when getting enough affection from their parents. Yet without it, it
would make the child feel depressed and alone. In the Erickson s Stages of Psychosocial Development
by Kendra Cherry, Erickson talks about what would happen when a child does not get affection (stage
1). The child would start to isolate themselves from others around them when growing up and feel self
conscious. Secondly, when the child grows up and does not get enough affection, the child grows up
and will isolate themselves from society. For example,

Compare Neighbours and One Other Poem in Place
Compare the ways poets show the relationship between people and places in Neighbours and in one
other poem from place.
In the poem neighbours by Gillian Clarke, the narrator reflects on the effects of the Chernobyl disaster.
At first she begins pessimistically describing the widespread damage, but then goes on to say how it
made people come together to become neighbours ,ending the poem in a more hopeful note. In Price
we pay for the sun by Grace Nichols, the narrator also starts pessimistically by challenging the
stereotypical view tourists have of the islands. In comparison the narrator ends the poem in a more
serious note by expanding on the poems title poverty is the price paid by the islanders for the sun.
In Neighbours, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She also uses enjambment between lines 9 and 10 which suggests that the poet s thoughts might be
disturbed or agitated.
Conversely, Price we pay for the sun is written in three stanzas with three distinct ideas. It has short
lines with non standard grammar and not much punctuation; this makes it sound like the speech on the
islands. There s some rhyme but its irregular perhaps this shows the irregular thought of the tourists
seeing islands as a place of haven instead of thinking about what really happens behind closed doors.
In conclusion, both poems use form and language to portray the relationship between the people and
the places in them, but while the price we pay for the sun ends negatively, neighbours ends with a
more hopeful note towards the people. I enjoyed both poems. Neighbours is very effective in
conveying the relationship between the people and the place by using innocence as an image of the
people and contrasting it with the after effects of the Chernobyl Disaster. However, although Price we
pay for the sun ends negatively, it is interesting to think how we crave for the sun just for the warmth
can be surprising to the inhabitants of the islands as they say poverty is the price we pay for the sun, a
sudden unexpected message the sun keeps the islanders poor. This is said effectively because it then
makes the readers empathise with the people on the islands, and makes them realise how hard it can be

Cats have been known to extirpate a bird species within specific regions and may have contributed to
the extinction of isolated island populations.[10] Cats are thought to be primarily responsible for the
extinction of 33 species of birds, and the presence of feral and free ranging cats makes some otherwise
suitable locations unsuitable for attempted species reintroduction.[11]
Since cats were venerated in ancient Egypt, they were commonly believed to have been domesticated
there,[12] but there may have been instances of domestication as early as the Neolithic from around
9,500 years ago (7,500 BC).[13] A genetic study in 2007[14] concluded that all domestic cats are
descended from Near Eastern wildcats, having diverged around 8,000 BC in the Middle East.[12][15]
A 2016 study found that leopard cats were undergoing domestication independently in China around
5,500 BC, though this line of partially domesticated cats leaves no trace in the domesticated
populations of today.[16][17] A 2017 study confirmed that domestic cats are descendants of those first
domesticated by farmers in the Near East around 9,000 years ago.[18][19]

The Supply Chain Of Supply Chains
Supply chains has been relevantly defined as a system of organizations which are convoluted through
upstream and downstream linkages, in the diverse methodologies and activities that create benefit in
the form of services and products in the hands of a definitive consumer , and is therefore the sum total
of efforts in integrating a network of firms and coordination as regards information, material and
financial flows. Interestingly, the two main supply chain objectives have moved, from decreasing
operating expenses and general inventory levels, to the concerns of how to enhance the customer

Uncertainties examined by supply chain:
The significant issue in the supply chain is establishing problem free and uninterrupted operation of
supply and so the function of supply chain as a defense against the uncertainties and unexpected
characters has been initiated for a long time. Figure 1 illustrates the uncertainties which are
investigated and solved by effective execution of supply chain.
In order to minimize the influence of these supply uncertainties, the supply chain managers should
recognize their origins, the desired market size, examined possible outcomes and the consequence of
their impact. Shockingly numerous supply chains will not record and track these elements that may
effects into under stock or over stock, underestimation of the investments and lead time in the
inappropriate resources for productivity enhancement. Besides these factors supply chain management
includes replenishment planning, inventory planning, warehouse management, production scheduling,
logistics and transportation operation in the auto industry.

Benefits Of Police Body Cameras
The need for police officers to be equipped with body cameras while on duty is crucial in rebuilding
community relations and increasing police accountability. As such, there are various benefits and
consequences in the implementation of this proposed policy for all police departments. While benefits
include lowering rates of police misconduct, increased accountability and transparency, improved
officer training, providing effective evidence for trials and reduction of civilian complaints, there are
consequences such as the upfront cost of police cameras, legal and privacy concerns and reliability of
body camera footage. The adoption of police body cameras has both positive and negative merits

Recording from police cameras could aid as a tool in officer training, as it could be used to observe
where and how officers could correct their behavior. Captured footage from the cameras could be
integrated in the police academy training programs, along with courses on sensitive topics such as
racial bias and sexism, to provide new officers with a foundation that exposes them to real incidents
that have happened in the field. Officers will be able to learn what encounters with members of the
community should and should not look like (Harvard Law Review, 2015). Police body cameras will
allow police departments to tailor their trainings and equip their officers with the knowledge they need
so that officers themselves can better regulate their own behavior as well.
Providing Evidence for Trials. Footage captured from police body cameras can be used as evidence in
cases and trials, providing objective information relating to whether law enforcement officers and their
use of force in the field are justifiable. Recorded footage has the advantage of documenting the series
of events that have happened and confirms the accuracy of police reports or statements (Harvard Law
Review, 2015). Police cameras and the footage that is collected can be used as an aid to help
prosecutors secure evidence to prosecute

Whale was one of the most important aquatic resources to used whale oil and other products. The

around Spitsbergen (Svalbard). After that, Entrepreneurs among English, Dutch, French, Basque, and
Danish developed a keen interest in a commercial whaling, and started to have made an expedition
and to have fished whale around the Arctic water. A sailor and a fisherman have voyaged and hunted
between the Spitsbergen (Svalbard) and the Davis Strait around Greenland. The English tried
voyaging and fishing for the first time around the area (1611), and followed by the Dutch (1612) and
other countries.

on the economics of fisheries in Sweden and Northern Europe. Meanwhile, the promotion of whale
fisheries is as important as that of herring fisheries because of the whale oil which is valuable product.
According to the previous research on Swedish fisheries policy, it is clear that the major changes in
measures and policies relation to herring fisheries have had a significant impact. However, research

Terrorist Groups and Impact Essay
Terrorist group and impact
Introduction
HAMAS (Harakat al Muqawamah al Islamiyya) is the Arabic word for Zeal and also known as
Islamic Resistance Movement. It is a notorious terrorist organization in the Middle East and George
Bush stated that Hamas is one of the deadliest terror organizations in the world today (Jensen, p.1,
2009).
Origins and sources
Hamas was formed in 1987 as the Muslim brotherhood (Ikhwan al Muslimin) in Palestinian by late
Ahmad Yassin, Abdel Aziz al Rantissi and Mohammad Taha. It is estimated that it has unknown
supporters and sympathizers but increasing to thousands (US department of state, 2005).
The Muslim Brotherhood was established in 1946 and its main goal was to institute the religious
revival in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The group mainly operates in Palestine as well as in West Bank and Gaza strip. It has also presences in
Syria, Lebanon and Gulf States (Foreign Terrorist organizations, 2004). The Hamas annual budget is
estimated to be $70 million dollars with 50% of its funds comes from Saudi Arabia through Islamic
charity organizations. Iran also provides further $3 million dollars and support from Palestinian
expatriates and other Arab states (Wikipedia, 2010).
Ideology
The group principles introduced in 1988 in a form of charter based on Islamist document and
declaring Jihad (in the sense of armed battle) as the only solution against Israel (Midestweb, 2007).
The charter also cites The Protocols of the Elders of Zion which emphasizes on anti Semitic forgery.
The Hamas and Islamistradicalists see the Zionist and freemasons as the major calamites to the world
(Midestweb, 2007). As well as calling for all Muslims to return to the faith (Gruber, 2007).
Aims and objectives
The main goal for the group is to have an Islamic state by expelling the Jews in Israel/Palestine in
accordance with the Islamic law. In recent years the group has moderated its goals by indicating that it
would like a favorable Israel Palestine agreement (Foreign Terrorist organizations, 2004). However,
Hamas did state in the 2006 election manifesto that the continuance of the arm struggle against Israel
occupation of the Palestinian region (Wikipedia, 2010).
Prior to the election in 2006, Hamas

Casting Actors to Play Helena and Hermia from William...
Casting Actors to Play Helena and Hermia from William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream
A Midsummer Night s Dream examines the theme of love in all its aspects. When Act one scene One
opens we are at the court of Duke Theseus and he is swearing his undying love for Hippolyta so at the
very start we are introduced to love and its deep emotional impact. The declaration of love between
the Ducal pair is shortened by the arrival of Egeus with his disobedient daughter Hermia. The mood
immediately changes and we discover that Hermia rather than being filled with filial love is
determined to marry Lysander rather than her father s choice for her. And so the love theme is made
more complex as we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Helenas costume is not as pretty, it is a blue and green corset with Elizabethan silk dress which has a
pattern at the bottom. She also has blue puffy sleeves. She has black leather shoes with bows and she
also wears a choker around her neck. She is meant to be plainer as she doesn t get Demetrius attention.
She s also a jealous character so greens are associated with envy.
In casting Hermia I would look for someone strong willed who could show different levels of
emotions, and someone who the audience can relate to. Helena on the other hand has to be quite
devious, not what a loyal best friend should be like. She has to be obsessive and lovesick. She also has
to be taller than Hermia for there to be comedy, as it is quite ironic how a smaller person can
undermine a tall person and also usually if someone admires another person they look up to them not
down at them. Hermia also should be olive skinned so that it is ironic when Helena describes her as
fair .
In the opening of the first scene Egeus enters with his daughter Hermia, who is small in height and the
two men Lysander and Demetrius. Egeus is full of vexation which means that his physicality and
voice should convey his mood. He therefore pulls Hermia who represents a damsel in distress
forcefully into the court with his hand tightly clutching her arm, dragging his reluctant daughter in to
emphasise how defiant

The Causes Of The Suez Crisis
The Suez Crisis began on October 29,1956 when Egypt was invaded by 10 Israeli brigades, British
and French troops followed two days later. The invasion was the result of Egypt s President Gamal
Abdel Nasser nationalising the Suez Canal Company, Britain and France were concerned about their
influence over the flow of oil into Europe. In response to the nationalisation of the Suez Canal,
English Prime Minister Anthony Eden, secretly formulated a plan with his allies France and Israel in
which they d retake the canal from Nasser, reinstating British and French authority over the flow of oil
from the Middle East while allowing the newly created Israel passage through the canal which Egypt
had blocked.
Gamal Abdel Nasser became President of Egypt in 1956, after a military coup. Prior to being
President, Nasser was an officer in the Egyptian Army when they were defeated by the newly
established State of Israel in 1948 leaving him with strong anti Israel sentiment. During his military
service Nasser founded the Free Officers group who sought to oust the occupying British forces from
Egypt. In 1954 after frequent brutal attacks against British troops by Egyptians, Britain signed an
agreement stating that British troops would vacate Egypt completely within the next 20 months, the
agreement ended British rule in Egypt. Nasser was a staunch Arab nationalist, which made him
extremely popular with the Egyptian public as they were deeply unhappy with Britain s colonial rule

  • 3. Teens And Mtv s Unrealistic Beliefs On Teen Pregnancy Research article authors Nicole Martins and Robin E. Jensen, intended to study the relationship between MTV s series Teen Mom reality show and teenagers unrealistic beliefs about what is like to be a teen mom. The seven motivations for asking why are used to convince the audience that it is worthy of research by exploring the relationship with the intentions to discredit the previous findings that state, Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant is one of the best public service campaign to prevent teen pregnancy. This topic presents a number of complications in the lives of both induvial and societal as a whole; providing evidence to answer the readers question on why this topic is of importance and worthy of research. Yearly, $7 billion are taxed to all U.S citizens for welfare and healthcare relating to teen pregnancy, driving the United States to the top as the highest rated country with teen pregnancy. Consequently, almost half of teen mothers are unable to receive a high school diploma; leading to lower occupation income for both fathers and mothers. I myself have personally witnessed the toll it takes on one s life from three women who became mothers at a young age. Many teens are unaware of the high risks and consequences of becoming pregnant or are in denial of the possibility. Being able to be a part of their journey has increased my belief of the importance on this topic and related research. When comparing this article to a good literature review, it successfully provides an adequate overview of previous research done and uses it to enhance the project at hand. When evaluating the quality and relevance of this article, Martins and Jensen do an admirable job communicating the purpose of research to the reader and organizing its literature review. The data from other studies is in chronological order and are structured from broader studies to more specific ones which is seen when the sources are cited. An analysis was provided after presenting the findings from previous studies and the authors were able to communicate how those studies influenced their own research. As a whole, the literature review was well organized by key ideas and topics that logically lead to the research Martins and Jensen were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Definitions of Intellectual Property Definitions Intellectual Property Name Institutional Affiliation Date: Definitions Intellectual Property Definitions of intellectual property, its legal protections, and the impact of the moral justifications that exist in cyberspace Intellectual property defines a wide range of the property created by investors, artistes, authors, and musicians. The law governing intellectual property naturally includes the copyrights, trademarks, and patents law. Its main intention is to motivate the development of art, sciences, and information giving defined rights of property to all the artistes, who include inventors of science and art. These rights assist artists to safeguard themselves from violation, unauthorized misuse, and use of their creations. Service marks and trademarks safeguard distinguishing characteristics (such as a package and name design) that are linked with certain products and services that display commercial source (Blakley, Johanna 2010). Laws safeguarding copyrights have strong links with the England law of the eighteenth century. Complete patent laws may be tracked from the seventeenth century in England, but they have always been part of the law of United States from the colonial period (Spinello, 2004). The concepts of patent and copyright were all included in the constitution of the United States. The congress has the power to encourage the development of useful art and science. According to the Merriam Webster racist is defined as, a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another. These people have also been classified as conservatives. The question that I present in this essay is why conservatives are seen as racist? This question will be answered with both perspectives of the Liberals and the Conservatives. With their inputs I can as the writer have a better understanding on this matter. In the first article, Why Movement Matters by Rae Pica, the author expresses a shocking idea I have never think about to which that the majority of [the] people will never see the movement as a top priority in children s lives and education. This is interesting for me because as a parent myself, I see that the development of children s movement is really important because most of the time, in order for a child to perform a task, he/she requires and be able to move. However, there are also some negative aspects of social networking. Some people tend to get cyber bullied on the internet. A child or teen usually gets tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed, or targeted by another child or teen using the internet or even on mobile phones. Some people commit suicide because of the mean things that people say to them. For this to not happen the best thing to do is delete the account and stay offline for a while until the stalkers have gotten tired of the whole thing. However, you should report it to the police before doing this. It can also lead into depression. Some people tend to make fun of others such as calling them ugly or fat. This may tend to make that person emotional and depressed and may lower their self esteem. Although their self esteem is already low this can lead them to committing suicide. Teens like their own privacy no matter what it is they re doing. Sometimes they just need to be left alone. That s another thing about cyber bullying. Some strangers invade on others privacy. Some strangers may want to help teens with the problems they are facing, but if you can t help them at least do not harm them. • 9. The Effects Of Corporal Punishment On Student Development... The Aftermath of a Raised Hand What is the harm of a little physical reinforcement to ensure children know how to properly act in society? This idea of physical reinforcement is also known as corporal punishment and is still present today in the southern American states, including some Texas school systems. Corporal punishment defined as punishment of a physical nature, such as caning, flogging, or beating (Corporal punishment). Some administers believe benefits include fewer student outbursts and a quiet environment; however, this logic fails to include the psychological implications of corporal punishment on students. Negative effects of corporal punishment negate the benefits of classroom management, as evidenced by the Social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, if a student experiences punishment from a teacher/principal at school just to get even more punishment from a parent for the same offense, then consequently the violence is what the child will remember most vividly. The conditions to model this violent behavior includes attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation which can be interpreted as the attention to the fact that violence is an adult s response causes a child to model the behavior of the adults around them resulting in more violence (Bandura, 288). Subconsciously most adults tend to believe that the easiest way to deal with a disobedient child or person is to cause physical harm. This answer of violence more times than not stems from the anger a student caused in doing wrong. Justification for corporal punishment originates from the past and is often the defense of pro corporal punishment advocates. Physical punishment can be traced back to ancient times exemplified in Egypt, concerning the slaves that built the pyramids. These deep roots of physical punishment are often referred to as a form of proof that it works. To use Egyptian violence as an example is pushing the envelope of what corporal punishment is today, regardless the reaction to that punishment is similar because human nature is present in both time periods. Punishment in and of itself is not inherently detrimental to a person s development; however, in the case of school corporal punishment the extra violent input ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This opportunity are great instrument to learn and expand our experience and social circle. Initially it could be stressful, and time consuming, but if done well the result would be extremely rewarding, it is called teamwork. Insert teamwork definition Why is teamwork essential? Five Stages of Team Development In 1965, a professor of psychology at the Ohio State University, Bruce Tuckman propose the five stages of group development (Andersen Bolt, 2011, p. 161). Tuckman strongly suggest the norm order for team to grow as one coordinated group. Teamwork plays a fundamental role in providing a high quality service and achieving accomplishments. Most teams usually go through five stages of development in order for them to successfully meet their group s purpose. Here is the five stages of team development: 1. Forming stage is the first phase of team development. This is the period where the first impression will initially form. The team begins as soon as they are created. The agency is under the leadership of the US Secretary of Health and Human Sciences who is directly appointed the president. Privatization of the agency implies that the services and programs offered by the agency would be contracted with private vendors. In case of a privatization, programs and services such as social services, health insurance, public health and safety, and emergency preparedness and response would no longer be provided by the government and citizens would seek these services from individual providers. However, such services should only be provided by the government mainly because of the resources involved and the coverage. There is no opportunity for privatization as this would mean that the government would no longer be responsible for the protection of health and human services. The key reasons why the agency should not privatize revolve around the quality of health and human services as well as maintaining government jobs. In the past, Jetstar in particular have had to put their service recovery plans into action. For example, on the 16th of April 2007, a Jetstar flight was cancelled with 300 Australian customers being stranded in the airport for 48 hours. Although the article doesn t specify how Jetstar used service recovery whilst the customer were stranded, it does state that Jetstar personally called each passenger to apologise, as well as telling them they would receive another apology in writing and a $500 travel voucher with the possibility of them being able to travel business class next time (Murphy, 2007). Although the compensation is resonable, Jetstar should have apologised face to face whilst the customers were stranded in the airport in order for the service recovery to be more successful. According to Lovelock et al, if the response time for compliant handling is done immediately, 56% of those customers that are involved will be satisfied (2004). In the painting, the actress s face is portrayed fifty times, twenty five times in color on the right and the same number of times in black and white on the left. One way to understand how this specific work should be interpreted is by examining it as an expressionist theorist. To experience this work properly I will act as an expressionist theorist and make sure to recognize my feelings transmitted as I interpret the work, be aware of how it expresses emotion, and grasp the uniqueness of the work. As an expressionist theorist, I recognize that the use of color can express the artist s emotion. Warhol used a warm color mix of bright yellow, orange, and turquoise on the right section and a dull color mix of black and white tints on the left. By using mixed media that represents a slow fade of the photos towards the end, Warhol captures life s transition from the bright and youthful days when one is full of energy to the tragic halt caused by death, which is also signified by the dull colors. Here, the artist provides a form of experience of life and death that the viewer can relate to. The use of acrylic on canvas and screen painting shows a transition in life from the ... • 21. A Brief Note On The Alzheimer s Association Overall, people who take care of dementia patients must handle health care responsibilities of the person with dementia more often than caregivers of people who do not have dementia. Some of the common tasks outlined by the Alzheimer s Association include assisting with daily activities around the house, managing the medications, helping with activities of daily living such as getting dressed and bathing, and providing support for the person with dementia as the disease progresses. Dementia residents require significantly more assistance with activities of daily living and help around the house in comparison to other older adults (Alzheimer s Association, 2016). Due to the time consuming responsibilities and the increasing level of care required during this stage, this might be a time when informal caregivers outsource some the responsibility to formal caregivers and facilities equipped for the level of intensity required. Another task caregivers face as the dementia progresses in the person they are taking care of is communication. The Alzheimer s Association provides a pamphlet on the most prevalent behavior changes and recommendations on how the informal caregiver should handle such changes. Common changes in communication include a gradual loss of ability to find the right words and organize thoughts and emotions effectively, a decline in the amount of verbal communication used, and going back to one s first language (Alzheimer s Association, 2014b). • 23. Nationalism in Quebec and Canadian Politics Essay During the twentieth century, Canada as a nation witnessed and endured several historical events that have had a deep and profound influence on Canadian politics. The most influential and constant force in twentieth century Canadian politics has been the increasing power and command of Quebec nationalism and the influence it has had on Canadian politics today. Quebec nationalism has shaped the structure and dynamics of Canadian federalism from a centralized to a decentralized form of federal government (Beland and Lecours 2010, 423). The decentralization of several sectors within the Canadian government has been a direct effect of Quebec nationalism. Decentralization has led to more autonomy among the provincial governments, especially in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally in 1867, the United Canadas joined two other British Colonies, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to form the Dominion of Canada (McRoberts 1991, 413). French Canadians continued to fight against assimilation and received autonomous privileges with exclusive jurisdiction over matters regarding its cultural distinctiveness***. Thus, the Francophone language and culture has always been at the forefront of Quebec priorities. Since Confederation, Quebec nationalist have felt that the Francophone language and culture has been at risk of assimilation by the rest of Canada. As a result, Quebec nationalism is fundamentally rooted in the preservation of the Francophone language and culture (Guiberneau 2006, 52). Political leaders in Quebec continuously urge for the recognition that Canada is composed of two nations or cultures (McRoberts 1991, 413). Prior to confederation Quebec enjoyed numerous autonomous privileges. Unfortunately, post confederation Quebec did not enjoy as many autonomous privileges because Canada was created as a relatively centralized federation (Beland and Lecours 2007, 406). A centralized federation not only took several of these autonomous powers away from Quebec, but it also threatened the Francophone language and culture (Beland and Lecours 2007, 406). With this said, Quebec nationalism has placed a great deal of pressure on the federal government to decentralize, giving more powers to provincial governments. Onto ... • 24. Personal Internship Analysis Personal Internship Supervision Model According to Loganbill, Hardy, Delworth (1982), and Stoltenberg (1981), At the advanced student level, an essential characteristic, according to our informants and other formulations, is the student s variable confidence, the duality of feeling confident and professionally uncertain at the same time (as cited in Ronnestad Skovholt, 2001, p. 400). This analysis suggests that there is a probability for an intern to feel professionally insecure and confident simultaneously. Therefore, the supervisor s role becomes crucial. The personal internship supervision is an integrative model where the supervisor integrates her role of a counselor, consultant, and a teacher based on the situation or the caseload. During the internship process, it was noticed that the supervisee felt vulnerable about the paper work, but was confident in building therapeutic alliance with clients. Therefore, the supervisor made conscious efforts to understand the supervisee s attitudes and conceptualizations of the problem. She relentlessly asked questions and concerns. The supervisor provided opportunities for the supervisee to voluntarily reflect on the each week s progress. In the case where the client appeared to be difficult, the supervisor exemplified patience. As stated by Ronnestad and Skovholt (2001) the development stages of the supervisee during internship when corresponds with the relationship between therapy and supervisor helps the therapist ... Automobile Dependency and the Working Poor Essay Automobile Dependency and the Working Poor David Shipler briefly mentions in The Working Poor that lack of access to a car is one of the factors that make finding and holding a job difficult. A person in need of a job may be unable to afford a car, since car ownership is so expensive, but they may need a car because of urban sprawl and inadequate public transit networks. But just how serious is the burden of car ownership, and how exactly does under funded public transit and urban sprawl contribute to the need to take on this burden? As jobs and people left the cities, many urban transit networks found themselves going out of business. Many that survived were publicly acquired and heavily subsidized. As a result, owning a car has become critical to the ability to seek, acquire and hold a job. For example, a recent report by Washington think tank the Brookings Institution states that 32 percent of Baltimore residents do not have cars. An Abell Foundation report says this endangers the ability of these residents to get and keep a job. According to Brookings fellow Margy Waller, people with a car are more likely to work, work more hours, and have a higher level of income. The Brookings Institution proposes lowering the barriers to car ownership in order to help more Baltimoreans become productive citizens. These barriers are high in Maryland, especially in Baltimore City, making car access more difficult to achieve than it is on average. The event was one of Europe s most deadly attacks leaving more than 100 dead and more than 350 injured. Unfortunately however, this was not the first attack on Paris that same year, in January 2015, terrorists attacked the Charlie Hebdo magazine headquarters killing twelve people. On the night of November 13th, the attacks occurred in different points of Paris including the Stade de France (where President Hollande was), the Bataclan Theatre (where a concert was given) and many streets throughout the city. All of the attacks occurred in less than an hour and were perpetrated by a terrorist cell who had pledged allegiance to ISIS. ISIS claimed it had committed these attacks as a response of French military engagement with the terrorist organisation in Syria. However the missing point which they do not know is that the expectations may be disappoint humans after they take one slice of the big cake which is called American dream. Michael Schudson mentioned in his journal that U.S is known as American dream for many people but indeed, U.S is not the land of opportunities that people are assumed. When one takes one slice of the big cake he or she can realize that the taste of the cake is not same for all races in U.S. There is a non ignorable categorization between the races in U.S. Jefferson M. Fish defines racism: Treating people unfairly because of their group membership . (2011) There are many advertisements that introduce U.S as the land of opportunities and land of freedom. U.S is one of the most developed countries about economic conditions and opportunities. There are many work streams, many opportunities that are provided for people. However the opportunities are not equally balanced between the all ethnic groups. Despite some ethnic groups take advantage of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. The Causes And Negative Effects Of Dysfunctional Family See, I think there are roads that lead us to each other. But in my family, there were no roads just underground tunnels. I think we all got lost in those underground tunnels. No, not lost. We just lived there. by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Dysfunctional families can lead to a few bad things in life, especially towards their own children. When having a bad effect towards each other, they usually get lost in what the problem is and forget about how to overcome them. The negative effects can also change an individual s identity as well. Family dysfunction can have a negative effect on an individual s identity in several ways. One way family dysfunction affects an individual s identity is by lack of affection. First, when a child does not get the affection needed from their family. For example, when a child starts to grow up. They are needing affection whenever they want whether it being alone, tired, happy, or to feel encouraged. It makes themselves feel good when getting enough affection from their parents. Yet without it, it would make the child feel depressed and alone. In the Erickson s Stages of Psychosocial Development by Kendra Cherry, Erickson talks about what would happen when a child does not get affection (stage 1). The child would start to isolate themselves from others around them when growing up and feel self conscious. Secondly, when the child grows up and does not get enough affection, the child grows up and will isolate themselves from society. For example, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Compare Neighbours and One Other Poem in Place Compare the ways poets show the relationship between people and places in Neighbours and in one other poem from place. In the poem neighbours by Gillian Clarke, the narrator reflects on the effects of the Chernobyl disaster. At first she begins pessimistically describing the widespread damage, but then goes on to say how it made people come together to become neighbours ,ending the poem in a more hopeful note. In Price we pay for the sun by Grace Nichols, the narrator also starts pessimistically by challenging the stereotypical view tourists have of the islands. In comparison the narrator ends the poem in a more serious note by expanding on the poems title poverty is the price paid by the islanders for the sun. In Neighbours, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She also uses enjambment between lines 9 and 10 which suggests that the poet s thoughts might be disturbed or agitated. Conversely, Price we pay for the sun is written in three stanzas with three distinct ideas. It has short lines with non standard grammar and not much punctuation; this makes it sound like the speech on the islands. There s some rhyme but its irregular perhaps this shows the irregular thought of the tourists seeing islands as a place of haven instead of thinking about what really happens behind closed doors. In conclusion, both poems use form and language to portray the relationship between the people and the places in them, but while the price we pay for the sun ends negatively, neighbours ends with a more hopeful note towards the people. I enjoyed both poems. Neighbours is very effective in conveying the relationship between the people and the place by using innocence as an image of the people and contrasting it with the after effects of the Chernobyl Disaster. However, although Price we pay for the sun ends negatively, it is interesting to think how we crave for the sun just for the warmth can be surprising to the inhabitants of the islands as they say poverty is the price we pay for the sun, a sudden unexpected message the sun keeps the islanders poor. This is said effectively because it then makes the readers empathise with the people on the islands, and makes them realise how hard it can be for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Casting Actors to Play Helena and Hermia from William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream A Midsummer Night s Dream examines the theme of love in all its aspects. When Act one scene One opens we are at the court of Duke Theseus and he is swearing his undying love for Hippolyta so at the very start we are introduced to love and its deep emotional impact. The declaration of love between the Ducal pair is shortened by the arrival of Egeus with his disobedient daughter Hermia. The mood immediately changes and we discover that Hermia rather than being filled with filial love is determined to marry Lysander rather than her father s choice for her. Helenas costume is not as pretty, it is a blue and green corset with Elizabethan silk dress which has a pattern at the bottom. She also has blue puffy sleeves. She has black leather shoes with bows and she also wears a choker around her neck. She is meant to be plainer as she doesn t get Demetrius attention. She s also a jealous character so greens are associated with envy. In casting Hermia I would look for someone strong willed who could show different levels of emotions, and someone who the audience can relate to. Helena on the other hand has to be quite devious, not what a loyal best friend should be like. She has to be obsessive and lovesick. She also has to be taller than Hermia for there to be comedy, as it is quite ironic how a smaller person can undermine a tall person and also usually if someone admires another person they look up to them not down at them. Hermia also should be olive skinned so that it is ironic when Helena describes her as fair . In the opening of the first scene Egeus enters with his daughter Hermia, who is small in height and the two men Lysander and Demetrius. Egeus is full of vexation which means that his physicality and voice should convey his mood. He therefore pulls Hermia who represents a damsel in distress forcefully into the court with his hand tightly clutching her arm, dragging his reluctant daughter in to emphasise how defiant ... • 51. The Causes Of The Suez Crisis The Suez Crisis began on October 29,1956 when Egypt was invaded by 10 Israeli brigades, British and French troops followed two days later. The invasion was the result of Egypt s President Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalising the Suez Canal Company, Britain and France were concerned about their influence over the flow of oil into Europe. In response to the nationalisation of the Suez Canal, English Prime Minister Anthony Eden, secretly formulated a plan with his allies France and Israel in which they d retake the canal from Nasser, reinstating British and French authority over the flow of oil from the Middle East while allowing the newly created Israel passage through the canal which Egypt had blocked. Gamal Abdel Nasser became President of Egypt in 1956, after a military coup. Prior to being President, Nasser was an officer in the Egyptian Army when they were defeated by the newly established State of Israel in 1948 leaving him with strong anti Israel sentiment. During his military service Nasser founded the Free Officers group who sought to oust the occupying British forces from Egypt. In 1954 after frequent brutal attacks against British troops by Egyptians, Britain signed an agreement stating that British troops would vacate Egypt completely within the next 20 months, the agreement ended British rule in Egypt.
