Command Of The Air Force
Lt Gen Bruce Litchfield, Commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center states that, Our ability to
provide cost effective readiness will determine the size of our Air Force and that (t)he size of our Air
Force will determine our ability to fight and win the next war. (O Brien, 2014) The automatic and
significant reductions to the Department of Defense s budget, known as Sequestration as triggered by
the Budget Control Act of 2011, has forced the US Air Force to re engineer how it performs weapons
system sustainment and reimagine how it will sustain weapons systems in the future, particularly with
regard to new weapons system acquisitions. The Air Force continues to publicly make the case that in
order to remain effective and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
History has shown that weapons systems that have a 30 year life cycle or longer, incur approximately
60 80% of the cost associated with the platform in the operations and sustainment phase of the system
s life cycle. (Figure 2) Therefore, in order to maximize recapitalization and modernization efforts, the
Air Force must consider the extensive myriad of types of logistics support required to field, operate,
employ, and sustain a new weapon system in the post Sequestration environment. Moreover, the Air
Force must effectively balance DoD directives for joint service interoperability, industry s desires to
maximize profits, and the reality of Congressional politics in an effort to optimize scarce program
dollars in particular the effort to make possible the most efficient use sustainment dollars.
Background
In recent years the acquisition community has changed its weapons system sustainment nomenclature
from acquisition logistics to life cycle logistics and, to its most current iteration, product support. As
noted by the Defense Acquisition Guidebook, Performance Based Logistics (PBL) is the preferred
Department of Defense product support strategy to improve weapon system readiness by procuring
performance, which capitalizes on integrated logistics chains and public/private partnerships. (Defense
Acquisition University, 2005) Performance Based Logistics (also commonly referred to as

Disney s Version Of The Princess With Blonde Hair
People usually visualize Cinderella as the Disney s version of the princess with blonde hair who
ventures off to the royal ball and meets Prince Charming. Cinderella s story has been around for many
centuries, along with many different models of her story. Most viewed as the aspect of eventually
escaping from her evil stepmother in the end. Cinderella was first called, Cinderwench which came
about as she would sit on cinders and ashes in her story after doing chores. Eventually, the youngest
sibling formatted the name to a nicer version as, Cinderella. Most people know Cinderella s story
referring to the tale created by Charles Perrault in 1697. (McIntyre 4). Charles Perrault s story will be
the main focus for this paper. He was the first to start including the pumpkin, glass slipper and the
fairy godmother into the tale. His version was the outline that undertook the formation of creating
Disney s well known animation in 1950. (Donahue 2)
The fairytale involves a gentleman getting remarried to a lady with two daughters along with his own,
Cinderella. The second wife was not pleased to have a selfless stepdaughter being viewed much better
than her own, since their personalities were opposite. She begins to assign outrageous chores and
providing the attic as her bedroom. At last, a ball was announced by the King s son as Cinderella s
stepsisters planned to go. When the day has come, the two sisters were off to the ball, leaving
Cinderella in tears as it was her desire to go.

The Effects Of Trauma On Children And Adolescents
Introduction Trauma has caused hospitalized pediatric patients to become uneasy and anxious with no
additional support. Thus, Child Life Services (CLS) is being proposed to Highland Hospital, as it does
not currently offer any therapeutic consultations to pediatric patients and families to help ease
traumatic feelings. CLS essentially provide a variety of different therapeutic programs to distract
hospitalized children from pain, stress and being traumatized after medical procedures.
Problem Statement
In the United States, more than 3 million children and adolescents experience some type of traumatic
events (Schwarz E.D., Perry B.D., 1994). Such events may involve violence in home, school or street,
death or hospital stays and medical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The implementation of CLS in Highland hospital will solely base on a philosophy to ensure that all
pediatric patients and their families receive the best care and support, regardless of how long the
duration of stay is. Some of the programs provided would include pre and post procedure preparation
consultations with the usages of developmentally appropriate medical play and activities to display a
better understanding of and how to cope with medical procedures, and to overall reduce traumatic
feelings. CLS currently provides certain hours of age appropriate playroom for all hospitalized
children and siblings with no requirement of adult family members. The playroom allows supportive
play and social interaction with different activities and entertainments to ease stress. However, this
proposed CLS would instead include a 24 hour playroom/daycare for siblings of the patient. With this,
siblings will be taken care of during the duration the family is in the hospital and when parents are
with the patient in medical procedures or clinical visits. In addition, a big brother/big sister program
would be implemented as part of CLS at Highland Hospital. This program will involve assigned
trained volunteers to patients, as they keep the patients entertained in their hospital rooms and assist
and guide them during the times the child is not in any procedures. With this one on one program, it
will provide a distraction for the patients

Persuasive Essay About Surfing
Surfing isn t easy, but it is very exciting and addicting. If you are someone who likes non contact
sports, and enjoys being outside, this is the sport for you. Unlike a lot of other sports, you are hot and
sweaty in a gym, however surfing in the ocean makes you feel cool on a hot day. If you are a beginner,
it may be very challenging to catch a wave. It is recommended to use a soft foam board. These boards
are lightweight, don t require wax, and easy to get up and stand on. Before you decide to get in water,
you need to make sure that you find the right spot with just enough waves. I would not recommend
going into an area with very big waves because surfing as a beginner, it would be very overwhelming.
As a beginner, when catching a wave, you want to be waist deep and in an area where the waves have
already broken. At this spot, you can practice standing up. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A regular is when your left foot is naturally in front and a goofy foot is when your right foot is
naturally in front. When getting up on the board, you want to jump up very fast and have your knees
bent the whole time riding the wave. After you feel comfortable closer to shore, you can now paddle
out more into the ocean. As a beginner, it may be hard to get past the impact zone because it would
potentially take you under. Once you are far out enough, you need to turn your board and wait for a
good wave. When you see a good enough wave coming your way, you need to lay back down on your
stomach and start paddling immediately, and very fast. Once the wave is about to break, very quickly,
hop up onto your feet and keep them planted, your knees bent, and your eyes toward where you want
to go. It is very important to be patient. You will not become an amazing surfing in one day. I would
recommend sticking to it because it is a very fun and exciting sport when you get the hang of

Causes And Consequences Of The Lake Erie
Last summer in Toledo, toxic algae blooms contaminated the drinking water supply of 400,000 people
(Toledo water crisis, par. 1). Algae, like all organisms, normally grow in balance with their
ecosystems, limited by the amount of nutrients in the water. But sometimes, algae can reproduce very
rapidly, which causes damage. Harmful algal blooms have been increasing in the United States to the
point where they occur along most of the coastlines and are common in many places: Specifically,
Lake Erie. Lake Erie has been affected by the blooms since the 1960 s and is still being affected. The
impacts of these blooms are dangerous in many ways: humans health is placed at risk, ecosystems are
altered, and marine mammals can either be injured or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Industrial interests argue that a reference in the text of the law to navigable waters limits federal
jurisdiction to waters you can boat on. This has let them get away with discharging pollution into
smaller waterways. Regulators disagree, since pollutants in these waterways drain into and threaten
larger passable waters, too (CLEAN WATER ACT, par. 1 35).
A change in climate can affect the algal blooms, making the blooms to increase rapidly. Strong winds
can also drive blooms to the water s surface, where water intake pipes can draw contaminated water
into systems serving municipality. Finally, a combination of warm temperature and excess nutrients
can make the algae multiply. Algae can multiply quickly in waterways with an overabundance of and
phosphorus, particularly when the water is warm and the weather is calm. Toledo did not have much
luck last summer. A small bloom appeared directly over the city s water intake pipe affecting the water
even more (Behind Toledo s Water Crisis, par. 10).
Although climate can play a role in effecting the blooms, agricultural activities have an even bigger
impact on the algae blooms. Agricultural practices, such as no till cropping, also reduced the amount
of particulate phosphorus.
On March 22, the Ohio lawmakers were on the same path of agreeing on a plan that would reduce the
farm runoff that feeds the algae

Emperor Jimmu
Emperor Jimmu, the first Emperor of Japan, officially formed Japan in 660 Before Common Era
(BCE.) Throughout Japan s 2600 years of history, there have been many wars and conflicts fought
across Japan and the Pacific region. Through the ages, Japan has always had an Emperor at the head of
its government, although this role has changed through time. Japan saw many economic changes, the
biggest of which occurred after World War II (WWII). With Japan s history, woven in war throughout
the Pacific has become a model of strong political standing and near immeasurable economic growth.
Japanese chronicles record Jimmu s expedition heading eastward from Hyuga in 607 BCE, continuing
along Japan s inland sea, subduing tribes as he went, and ending in Yamato, where he centered his
power (Jimmu Legendary Emperor of Japan, 2016.) Emperor Jimmu, formally Jimmu Tenno, is said
to be a descendent of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu. The current Emperor of Japan, His Royal Majesty
(HIM) Akihito, is a direct descendent of over 50 generations of Jimmu s bloodline. ... Show more

concerning conscription in Japan was enacted, though the idea dates back to as early as 645CE. While
feudalism was being developed and created, there was a rapid decline of the semi independent

Characteristics Of Joshua In The Odyssey
During the study of the Bible, the traits that define and epitomize a Biblical Hero are discovered. In
the book of Joshua, Joshua s characteristics create a depiction of a Biblical Hero. A Biblical Hero must
have loyalty to God and to the people he is leading. He must also have leadership, obedience to God,
and have courage. Joshua is able to actualize and represent all of these traits in the Book of Joshua
which gives him the ability to become a Biblical Hero.
In the Book of Joshua, Moses is dead and God chooses Joshua as his new servant and the leader of the
children of Israel. God tells Joshua that, as the new leader, he must get the Israelites to travel across
the Jordan River and into new territory. Afterwards, Joshua immediately follows the Lord s directions
and commands them to get ready to cross the Jordan River. Joshua commanded the officers of the
people, saying, Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for
within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to the possess the land, which the LORD your
God giveth you to possess it (Joshua ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Joshua is not intimidated by the fact that God has chosen him and decides to rise up to the occasion
and prove himself to God. Joshua is able to do this when he kills all of the people of Jericho, except
Rahab. After that the Lord was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country
(Joshua 6:27). Joshua s bravery and courage on that seventh day show to everyone that he is with God
and is not afraid to do what God

Internal And External Factors That Affect The Core...
Professional football clubs need revenue. It is vital to the financial survival of a club as they have
ultimately become a business. Money is a vital necessity to enable the club to function. From paying
ground rent to the funding of the youth system and to even signing players for the clubs, it is
fundamental that a club is making a profit. The owners of the clubs will want to see profits being
made otherwise the club will eventually no longer be able to function. In this assignment I will be
exploring the ways in which Internal and external factors have an impact on the core revenues of
Clubs and how clubs themselves can potentially help put the factors in their favour. Topics such as
Fans and their behaviour and Player conduct on and off the pitch will be explored. Things that can
occur which clubs have little or no power over such as a major political shift which can affect a clubs
income will also be covered. One of the most obvious ways a club can make money is through ticket
sales. Supporters of the clubs in question and also neutral spectators will all pay the club to watch the
match. To ensure that the club continues to hold or expand its fan base the club will have to be
somewhat successful in its competitive competitions. Clubs who are less competitive in their
competitions will generally have less of a following than a more dominant club. Another way to bring
in fans is to also give them a good match day experience. Catering, comfort and ease of access

Although it contains a carbonyl bond additional to a covalently bonded oxygen, water is able to form
strong hydrogen bonding with two of its hydrogen atoms. Propyl ethanoate is only able to form dipole
dipole bonding in addition to dispersion forces in their intermolecular interactions. In contrast, water
is able to form strong hydrogen bonds with surrounding molecules while conforming to dispersion
forces. It follows that water will require a higher boiling point in comparison to isopropyl ethanoate
due to its ability to form H bonds with surrounding molecules, which require a higher heat energy
input to break. As the ester s polarity is low in comparison to water, it is unable to dissolve completely
in water and therefore, after esterification, the aqueous and organic layers are separated as seen in

Toronto Police s Budget Cuts
Problem
The major problem with the Toronto Police s budget cuts are that they plan to freeze hiring for three
years. This has caused major burnout rates and a reduction in moral in many officers (Fox, 2017). The
plan initiated by the Toronto Police this January is one looking at a change to police culture as well as
budget reduction. The hiring freeze is a product of the budget, the Toronto Police Service has hit the 1
billion mark as of this year, exceeding any budget ever had in the past (Powell, 2016). The Toronto
police have made it their goal to not go over this cap and are doing everything in their power to cut
costs. One of the ways they plan on doing this is through a 3 year hiring freeze of all civilian and new

(Morrow, 2015). This takes them out of the budget thus reducing expenditures as well as brings in
money to be sued on other aspects of government. This is the same to Toronto removing the agencies
not directly related to policing. It will provide more money to the force and remove the expenses that

The Time Succeeding Herbert Hoover s Presidency
Evelyn Serrano
Mrs. Mohan
IB History of the Americas Period 10

Essay Topic 2 Question A The time succeeding Herbert Hoover s presidency became a period of
reconstruction. The Great Depression caused thorough damage through the entire nation. Citizen s
trust stood nonexistent and their motives were vacant. Franklin Roosevelt came into office with
upfront critical responsibilities. In order to save what was left of the United States, Roosevelt had to
approach the detrimental economy with an open mind. He came up with many solutions, some
received questionable appraisal from the people such as the New Deal. The New Deal served as an
attempt to uplift the economy by assisting banks, creating jobs, and financing businesses. In Roosevelt
s mind, government affiliation was vital. The policies sparked controversy among business owners as
they argued it was unconstitutional and put capitalism at stake. The New Deal proves effective in
saving capitalism by initiating a strong federal government to regulate the economy. After the collapse
of the economy in 1929, banks were in crucial conditions. Citizen s trust faltered as Hoover preached
to them empty promises about how things would get better. Franklin Roosevelt s mission with the
New Deal was to recuperate all that was lost during Hoover s presidency. Within the New Deal was
passed the Federal Emergency Banking Act. This act helped produce loans, credit and investment
opportunities for the public. The production

The Active Audience On Pop Culture
The Active Audience
In modern communication, there are various types of culture. The most widely known of these types is
pop culture. Pop Culture in short, is every meme, perspective, image and phenomena that are within
the mainstream of a culture which has created an active audience. This active audience has a role in
pop culture as to how it creates and defines music, movies and race in popular culture.
In a culture, there will always be an active audience in the music industry. In the article Mix it up , it
shows us how the original song from the past is then is then somewhat recreated by the active
audience as an homage. An example is the song Tainted Love and Where Did Our Love . To clarify

In this case, it s Elvis Presley and Big Mama Thornton where Big Mama Thornton originally recorded
Hound Dog to which Elvis Presley s overshadow s Big Mama Thornton original version. For this
reason it depends on which audience the artist wants to attract because Elvis Presley attracted young
teenagers during the 50 s and 60 s and this was during the post World War II baby boom from 1946
1964. To conclude the lively audience is both the consumer and producers when it comes to the music
industry
Movies were a relatively a recent addition to popular culture only beginning at about a hundred years
ago. The reason why it s part of pop culture is the fact that it s an active audience. For example in
Steven J. Ross article, he wrote that by 1910 26 million people, nearly 30% of the American
population when to go watch movies per week and by 1920 it became half of the population. This
shows that their action made the film industry a staple in pop culture from it early beginnings.
Additionally, the active audience can control if the film be part of the mainstream or not. For instance
in order for a film to be mainstream a large group of followers must come with this. An example
would be the Star Wars franchise more specifically the title for the new movie. In the article The Force
Awakens? Star Wars fans wish it was literally anything else . The audience discusses have mix

Pros And Cons Of The Person-Centered Theory Of Helping

Jealousy In Othello Research Paper
The comparison of jealousy with Iago and in real life
William Shakespeare, English literature, most influential writer. Shakespeare finish grammar school,
but did not further his education. When Shakespeare family moved to England, he eventually became
most popular playwright in England and a part owner a theater. Shakespeare produced a tragedy
Othello witch gave us a clear understanding on jealousy. There are five different types of jealousy:
Romantic, Work or Power, Friend, and Abnormal jealousy. Iago used these different types of jealousy
to manipulate the people around him and the same thing happens in our world today.
Feeling or showing envy of someone is a clear understanding of jealousy. Iago, a good friend of
Othello, he is not who he appears to be. He is a very manipulative person to the people around him.
Iago used jealousy against the different characters; however, he tries to make Othello believe that
Desdemona was cheating on him with Cassio. Iago creates an opportunity to set up Cassio with
Desdemona handkerchief. Othello, desperately swinging between belief in his wife s innocence and
conviction of her guilt, pleads for visible proof. I ll see before I doubt, he cried. (Review) Therefore,
in today society marriages are broken all the time because jealousy. Jealousy is one of the major
causes in relationships today ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

used the type of abnormal jealousy because he has insecurity towards everyone. Jealousy will keep

A Brief Note On Ford s Autonomous Car
Ford s Autonomous Car Most of the automotive companies believe that the next generation of cars are
going to be autonomous vehicles, but not all of them have the same opinion about it. Some companies
want to bring a fully autonomous car to reality, which wouldn t need any human interaction to drive
the car, while other ones are interested in driverless cars, which need humans to drive them. Both
autonomous and driverless concepts give cars more control over themselves, and both aim to give
more comfort for mankind, thus providing an easier life for drivers and passengers, but the idea of an
autonomous car on the roads raises some questions about the safety of it and the responsibility over a
car like this. A driverless car can have most of the autonomous features, it just needs someone to drive
it, and then the control would also be from a person that would be more watchful and take
responsibilities over the car. Ford is going to launch an autonomous car. The company already has a
semi autonomous one in market, the Fusion hybrid, and they say that the car is automated, but by
automated they mean that it is capable of automated operation under the supervision of a human
driver. Ford already have one step in automated driving, and in five years they are going to bring two
new innovative features that are going to be essential for self driving cars; one is the fully automated
parking that allows the vehicle to park itself with no help from the driver, the driver just have

The Odyssey Of Saturn s Colorful Rings
The panoply of Saturn s colorful rings greeted Surina the next morning. In fact, many dazzled
passengers packed the observation deck to admire the fresco of shimmering pastel pinks, grays,
yellows, and browns painted by the most prolific artist of all, the creator of the universe. Orbiting in
the magical ringlets of Saturn were the icy rocks from the blown up remnants of the ancient moons
that reflected the sunlight to produce the glittering pastel colors. Similar to Jupiter, Saturn was a gas
giant of primarily hydrogen and helium gasses without a solid surface, on which fierce winds,
lightning storms, and bitter cold temperatures raged. Titan, the biggest of the fifty three moons, was
even larger than Mercury and shrouded in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We saw Saturn today whose name comes from the Roman god of agriculture. Tomorrow, we will see
the last two planets in our Solar System. First, will be Uranus or the Greek god of the sky and later,
Neptune or the Roman god of the sea. These ice giants of frozen water, ammonia, and methane have
much fainter rings than Saturn s dramatic ones. From their far flung locations at the edge of the Solar
System, it takes eighty four Earth years for Uranus to orbit once around the Sun in comparison with a
hundred and sixty five Earth years for Neptune. Additionally, Neptune is the only planet in the Solar
System not visible from Earth without a telescope. Both planets have frozen landscapes, with an
average temperature of minus two hundred and twenty four degrees Celsius for Uranus and minus four
hundred degrees Celsius for Neptune. The two planets appear blue due to the reflection of blue light
by methane, a primary component in their atmosphere. Furthermore, the twenty seven moons of
Uranus have names from characters of William Shakespeare s plays such as Juliet, Ophelia, and Puck.
In contrast, Neptune s thirteen moons have names from the Greek sea gods and mythical beings such
as Triton and Larissa. From the front row, Alfonso raised his hand to ask enthusiastically, Sir, is there
life anywhere else in the universe? We launched many unmanned probes into space, bearing messages

Personal Essay On Illinois
The name of the state that I am doing is Illinois. Illinois is to the left of Indiana and below
Wisconsin. The absolute location of Illinois is 40.0000 degrees N, 89.0000 degrees W.
This state is where I was born, and I lived there for 9 years in my hometown of Minooka.
My parents drive me to and from my destination. And when it was a school day I usually
took the bus to school that stopped in my neighborhood. I find Illinois appealing because
I like the cold and the woodland areas.
The Central Plaines covers 90% of Illinois. It is composed of rolling plains
created by glaciers from the ice age. Fertile soil makes up these plains, which allows
agriculture. The Central Plains is divided into 3 sections: the Great Lakes Plains, the

The warmest temperature recorded in Illinois was on the 14th of July 1954 at 117 degrees
Fahrenheit (47 degrees Celsius) at East St. Louis. East St. Louis is directly across the

receives 36 inches (91 centimeters) of precipitation a year. You can also expect to see 37
inches (94 centimeters) of snow a year in northern Illinois. But that number will decrease
to a mere 24 inches (61 centimeters) in the south. The average wind speed in the state of
Illinois is 10.4 miles per hour (16.7 kilometers per hour.) This number is still lower than
major US cities e.g. Boston. Since most of Illinois is covered in flat plains, you can

Santiago s A Very Brief Summary Of The Alchemist
1 Santiago, for his entire life, devotedly attended the seminar every day in order to become a Catholic
priest. However, Santiago was not liked by any student in the seminar at all; fellow students perceived
him as a brainwashed, Catholic dweeb.
2 Santiago had no friends, except for one aspect: grass. He talked to the grass about his depression that
only three people love him: his mother, his father, and himself. Eventually, Santiago collapsed in
fatigue and began to dream.
3 Eventually, Santiago collapsed in a deep slumber. He dreamed of meeting this astoundingly
beautiful girl in the town of Tarifa; this girl says that Santiago must travel to her for a visit.
4 Santiago encounters his first hindrance involving his father about his strides. Santiago importunes
his father about traveling, but his father desired his son to become a priest and believed traveling is
worthless. Nevertheless, the father contributed to Santiago s endeavor and the obstacle ... Show more

6 A year onwards, Santiago sleeps in an abandoned church on route to Tarifa, Spain to meet the girl.
Nonetheless, Santiago perceives this recurring dream that prematurely halts every time he questions it;
however, Santiago ignores it, for now.
8 Santiago visits a gypsy to have her interpret his engrossing dream; the woman states that a child
guides him towards the Egyptian Pyramids to locate treasure. She explicates that Santiago must travel
to Egypt, discover the treasure, and give her a tenth of the riches later.
11 The following day, Santiago trades a tenth of his sheep flock to Melchizedek for vital information
about achieving his Personal Legend. Melchizedek explicates that Santiago must follow omens and
gives Santiago two stones, Urim and Thummim, for assistance in interpreting

Animal Testing Over 100 Years Essay
If you lived in 1900, you could only expect to live to 47.3 years old (berkeley.edu). However, today
you can expect to live to see your 78th birthday, that s a difference of 31.5 years (cdc.gov). Why such
an age difference in just over 100 years? There are several factors that contribute to a longer life
expectancy today. They include, healthier lifestyles, better hygiene, and notice of public health. But,
the greatest contribution comes from medical advancements, such as vaccinations, surgical
procedures, and medications that have been discovered through the process of animal testing. Animals
have contributed greatly to the prolonged life spans of humans.
Take polio for example. From the late 19th century through the early 1950 s, an ... Show more content

In 1933 more than twelve women were blinded and one died from permanent mascara called Lash
Lure; due to a chemical in the product called p phenylenediamine, which was untested (National
Research Council of the National Academies). Again, this was before product safety tests were
required by law.
Not only do humans benefit from animal research, but animals do too. Animals develop many of the
same diseases that people do and there are many procedures performed on people that are also
performed on animals to improve their quality of life. Some treatments found through animal testing
that benefit animals are treatments for diabetes, cancer, arthritis, vaccinations, antibiotics, and surgical
techniques (psbr.org).
There are currently in vitro models such as cell cultures and computer modeling that are in use that
can replace some animal models. It is hopeful that one day animals will not need to be used in
experiments. However, as of today all animals cannot be replaced by such models.
As you can see with these examples, it is absolutely necessary to use animals in research; for diseases
that currently exist and for the ones yet to be discovered. There is no doubt that using animals to test
products and to develop lifesaving medications and surgical procedures have improved our quality of
life

  • 2. Command Of The Air Force Lt Gen Bruce Litchfield, Commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center states that, Our ability to provide cost effective readiness will determine the size of our Air Force and that (t)he size of our Air Force will determine our ability to fight and win the next war. (O Brien, 2014) The automatic and significant reductions to the Department of Defense s budget, known as Sequestration as triggered by the Budget Control Act of 2011, has forced the US Air Force to re engineer how it performs weapons system sustainment and reimagine how it will sustain weapons systems in the future, particularly with regard to new weapons system acquisitions. The Air Force continues to publicly make the case that in order to remain effective and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... History has shown that weapons systems that have a 30 year life cycle or longer, incur approximately 60 80% of the cost associated with the platform in the operations and sustainment phase of the system s life cycle. (Figure 2) Therefore, in order to maximize recapitalization and modernization efforts, the Air Force must consider the extensive myriad of types of logistics support required to field, operate, employ, and sustain a new weapon system in the post Sequestration environment. Moreover, the Air Force must effectively balance DoD directives for joint service interoperability, industry s desires to maximize profits, and the reality of Congressional politics in an effort to optimize scarce program dollars in particular the effort to make possible the most efficient use sustainment dollars. Background In recent years the acquisition community has changed its weapons system sustainment nomenclature from acquisition logistics to life cycle logistics and, to its most current iteration, product support. As noted by the Defense Acquisition Guidebook, Performance Based Logistics (PBL) is the preferred Department of Defense product support strategy to improve weapon system readiness by procuring performance, which capitalizes on integrated logistics chains and public/private partnerships. Disney s Version Of The Princess With Blonde Hair People usually visualize Cinderella as the Disney s version of the princess with blonde hair who ventures off to the royal ball and meets Prince Charming. Cinderella s story has been around for many centuries, along with many different models of her story. Most viewed as the aspect of eventually escaping from her evil stepmother in the end. Cinderella was first called, Cinderwench which came about as she would sit on cinders and ashes in her story after doing chores. Eventually, the youngest sibling formatted the name to a nicer version as, Cinderella. Most people know Cinderella s story referring to the tale created by Charles Perrault in 1697. (McIntyre 4). Charles Perrault s story will be the main focus for this paper. He was the first to start including the pumpkin, glass slipper and the fairy godmother into the tale. His version was the outline that undertook the formation of creating Disney s well known animation in 1950. (Donahue 2) The fairytale involves a gentleman getting remarried to a lady with two daughters along with his own, Cinderella. The second wife was not pleased to have a selfless stepdaughter being viewed much better than her own, since their personalities were opposite. She begins to assign outrageous chores and providing the attic as her bedroom. At last, a ball was announced by the King s son as Cinderella s stepsisters planned to go. • 4. The Effects Of Trauma On Children And Adolescents Introduction Trauma has caused hospitalized pediatric patients to become uneasy and anxious with no additional support. Thus, Child Life Services (CLS) is being proposed to Highland Hospital, as it does not currently offer any therapeutic consultations to pediatric patients and families to help ease traumatic feelings. CLS essentially provide a variety of different therapeutic programs to distract hospitalized children from pain, stress and being traumatized after medical procedures. Problem Statement In the United States, more than 3 million children and adolescents experience some type of traumatic events (Schwarz E.D., Perry B.D., 1994). Such events may involve violence in home, school or street, death or hospital stays and medical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The implementation of CLS in Highland hospital will solely base on a philosophy to ensure that all pediatric patients and their families receive the best care and support, regardless of how long the duration of stay is. Some of the programs provided would include pre and post procedure preparation consultations with the usages of developmentally appropriate medical play and activities to display a better understanding of and how to cope with medical procedures, and to overall reduce traumatic feelings. CLS currently provides certain hours of age appropriate playroom for all hospitalized children and siblings with no requirement of adult family members. The playroom allows supportive play and social interaction with different activities and entertainments to ease stress. However, this proposed CLS would instead include a 24 hour playroom/daycare for siblings of the patient. With this, siblings will be taken care of during the duration the family is in the hospital and when parents are with the patient in medical procedures or clinical visits. In addition, a big brother/big sister program would be implemented as part of CLS at Highland Hospital. This program will involve assigned trained volunteers to patients, as they keep the patients entertained in their hospital rooms and assist and guide them during the times the child is not in any procedures. With this one on one program, it will provide a distraction for the patients ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Persuasive Essay About Surfing Surfing isn t easy, but it is very exciting and addicting. If you are someone who likes non contact sports, and enjoys being outside, this is the sport for you. Unlike a lot of other sports, you are hot and sweaty in a gym, however surfing in the ocean makes you feel cool on a hot day. If you are a beginner, it may be very challenging to catch a wave. It is recommended to use a soft foam board. These boards are lightweight, don t require wax, and easy to get up and stand on. Before you decide to get in water, you need to make sure that you find the right spot with just enough waves. I would not recommend going into an area with very big waves because surfing as a beginner, it would be very overwhelming. As a beginner, when catching a wave, you want to be waist deep and in an area where the waves have already broken. At this spot, you can practice standing up. ... Once you are far out enough, you need to turn your board and wait for a good wave. When you see a good enough wave coming your way, you need to lay back down on your stomach and start paddling immediately, and very fast. Once the wave is about to break, very quickly, hop up onto your feet and keep them planted, your knees bent, and your eyes toward where you want to go. It is very important to be patient. You will not become an amazing surfing in one day. I would recommend sticking to it because it is a very fun and exciting sport when you get the hang of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Causes And Consequences Of The Lake Erie Last summer in Toledo, toxic algae blooms contaminated the drinking water supply of 400,000 people (Toledo water crisis, par. 1). Algae, like all organisms, normally grow in balance with their ecosystems, limited by the amount of nutrients in the water. But sometimes, algae can reproduce very rapidly, which causes damage. Harmful algal blooms have been increasing in the United States to the point where they occur along most of the coastlines and are common in many places: Specifically, Lake Erie. Lake Erie has been affected by the blooms since the 1960 s and is still being affected. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Industrial interests argue that a reference in the text of the law to navigable waters limits federal jurisdiction to waters you can boat on. This has let them get away with discharging pollution into smaller waterways. Regulators disagree, since pollutants in these waterways drain into and threaten larger passable waters, too (CLEAN WATER ACT, par. 1 35). A change in climate can affect the algal blooms, making the blooms to increase rapidly. Strong winds can also drive blooms to the water s surface, where water intake pipes can draw contaminated water into systems serving municipality. Finally, a combination of warm temperature and excess nutrients can make the algae multiply. Algae can multiply quickly in waterways with an overabundance of and phosphorus, particularly when the water is warm and the weather is calm. Toledo did not have much luck last summer. A small bloom appeared directly over the city s water intake pipe affecting the water even more (Behind Toledo s Water Crisis, par. 10). Although climate can play a role in effecting the blooms, agricultural activities have an even bigger impact on the algae blooms. Agricultural practices, such as no till cropping, also reduced the amount of particulate phosphorus. Money is a vital necessity to enable the club to function. From paying ground rent to the funding of the youth system and to even signing players for the clubs, it is fundamental that a club is making a profit. The owners of the clubs will want to see profits being made otherwise the club will eventually no longer be able to function. Topics such as Fans and their behaviour and Player conduct on and off the pitch will be explored. Things that can occur which clubs have little or no power over such as a major political shift which can affect a clubs income will also be covered. One of the most obvious ways a club can make money is through ticket sales. Supporters of the clubs in question and also neutral spectators will all pay the club to watch the match. To ensure that the club continues to hold or expand its fan base the club will have to be somewhat successful in its competitive competitions. Clubs who are less competitive in their competitions will generally have less of a following than a more dominant club. Another way to bring in fans is to also give them a good match day experience. The Great Depression caused thorough damage through the entire nation. Citizen s trust stood nonexistent and their motives were vacant. Franklin Roosevelt came into office with upfront critical responsibilities. In order to save what was left of the United States, Roosevelt had to approach the detrimental economy with an open mind. Citizen s trust faltered as Hoover preached to them empty promises about how things would get better. Franklin Roosevelt s mission with the New Deal was to recuperate all that was lost during Hoover s presidency. Within the New Deal was passed the Federal Emergency Banking Act. Some companies want to bring a fully autonomous car to reality, which wouldn t need any human interaction to drive the car, while other ones are interested in driverless cars, which need humans to drive them. Both autonomous and driverless concepts give cars more control over themselves, and both aim to give more comfort for mankind, thus providing an easier life for drivers and passengers, but the idea of an autonomous car on the roads raises some questions about the safety of it and the responsibility over a car like this.
